Ivan Pavlov was a Russian psychologist who developed the theory of classical conditioning based on his experiments with dogs in the late 19th/early 20th century. He found that dogs could be conditioned to salivate in response to a stimulus other than food, like the ringing of a bell. Specifically, he noticed the dogs began salivating when they heard the bell ring, as that was when they were usually fed. He then demonstrated that this new response was learned by conditioning the dogs to salivate to a different bell. Pavlov's work showed how stimuli in the environment can become associated with innate responses through repeated experiences.

Harter's theory focuses on self-esteem, self-concept, and the ideal self. It states that self-esteem can be observed through success in academic, social, and physical areas. Abstract: In the mainstream discourse on child development and education, 'school readiness' has been conceptualized as the skills and knowledge that children need when they enter school in order to learn effectively in the school environment. However, school readiness is an idea which is entwined with our beliefs about child development and child needs (E. Graue, 1992). Indeed, the mainstream conceptualization and operationalization of school readiness is grounded in particular values and beliefs about the nature of child development, ideas about vulnerability and competence, and the characteristics deemed valuable in a particular society. In this way, social context determine the focus of school readiness, what is valued, what is assessed, and what resources and supports are identified as needed. This paper will critically review the literature on school readiness, examining the cultural assumptions underlying the mainstream discourse, and exploring the social construction of school readiness. Although the alternative discourse on school readiness is scant at best, the paper will draw on literature in related areas to explore how school readiness might be alternately conceptualized in different socio-cultural contexts. The paper will also explore the larger theoretical discussion of universalism versus cultural relativism and social construction.

Genetic diversity within and among populations is essential for species persistence. While targets and indicators for genetic diversity are captured in the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, assessing genetic diversity across many species at national and regional scales remains challenging. Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) need accessible tools for reliable and efficient monitoring at relevant scales. Here, we describe how Earth Observation satellites (EO) make essential contributions to enable, accelerate, and improve genetic diversity monitoring and preservation. Specifically, we introduce a workflow integrating EO into existing genetic diversity monitoring strategies and present a set of examples where EO data is or can be integrated to improve assessment, monitoring, and conservation. We describe how available EO data can be integrated in innovative ways to support calculation of the genetic diversity indicators of the GBF monitoring framework and to inform management and monitoring decisions, especially in areas with limited research infrastructure or access. (Q)SAR Assessment Framework: Guidance for Assessing (Q)SAR Models and Predict...
The webinar provided an overview of the new OECD (Q)SAR Assessment Framework for evaluating the scientific validity of (Q)SAR models, predictions, and results from multiple predictions. The QAF provides assessment elements for existing principles for evaluating models, as well as new principles for evaluating predictions and results. In addition to the principles, assessment elements, and guidance for evaluating each element, the QAF includes a checklist for reporting assessments.
This new Framework provides regulators with a consistent and transparent approach for reviewing the use of (Q)SAR predictions in a regulatory context and increases the confidence to accept alternative methods for evaluating chemical hazards. The OECD worked closely together with the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (Italy) and the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), supported by a variety of international experts to develop a checklist of criteria and guidance for evaluating each criterion. The aim of the QAF is to help establish confidence in the use of (Q)SARs in evaluating chemical safety, and was designed to be applicable irrespective of the modelling technique used to build the model, the predicted endpoint, and the intended regulatory purpose.
The webinar provided an overview of the project and presented the main aspects of the framework for assessing models and results based on individual or multiple predictions.

- 2. The Russian psychologist was born in 1849 and died in 1936 and had ideas about conditioning people and animals. His theory is known as Classical Conditioning and is based on his experiment on dogs. The time that he fed his dogs was the same time that the church bells rang and he began to notice that when they heard the bells they started to salivate because they knew that food was coming. He tested this theory by ringing a different bell to see if the dogs salivated then. They did so this backed up his theory.
- 3. The bell ringing was the Conditioned Stimulus (CS) and the food was the Unconditioned Stimulus (UCS). The sound of the bell and the arrival of food triggered the Unconditioned Response (UCR) which is the salivation. After a while the sound of any bell produced the saliva so it was then a Conditioned Response (CR). Pavlov himself said “Appetite, craving for food, is a constant and powerful stimulator of the gastric glands.”
- 4. It is reflected in school as when the bell rings in school, it will mean its break time, its repeated every day so the children are conditioned through life even by teenagers and adults. Doing this repeatedly means the bad behaviour the child has presented with soon becomes eliminated. The good behaviour will be rewarded with stickers or golden time, but the bad behaviour will be treated with detention or telling off. The children learn what behaviour is expected of them and what they will get in return if they behave or not.
