10. The Bully
Just because you’re small and he’s tall.
doesn’t mean he’s above us all.
Just because he calls you gay.
Doesn’t mean you have to run away.
Get out of bed, take off the mask.
Even though it’s a massive task.
Stand up to him and look in his eyes.
Don’t be scared, don’t be shy.
Say these words loud and clear.
“STOP BULLYING ME NOW, I’M TELLING YOU HERE!”
11. Look Outside
Look outside, see the trees,
Watch the flowers in the breeze
Things won’t be like this in a year or two,
If polluting is all we do.
Seize the night, seize the day,
Things won’t always be this way.
Thousands of people are dying
In the night, the children crying.
Let’s stop the war,
Our people are sore,
The world can’t help itself
Who cares about your wealth
Help me to help you
Show the world what you can do.
12. *Please watch the
following video….(show
Racism the red card)
*This shows why some
people have racist views
…..
*Is that right ?
14. *Now watch this clip of a young boy
who is not acting out our British
Values.
*Listen to these Year 10 students
discuss what they would do in this
situation.
*What do you think you would do?
15. *A group of Year 8 Acle
Academy students will share
with us what British Values
means to them …..
*Please listen.
*What are your thoughts?
16.
17. *•Democracy.
*•The rule of law.
*•Individual liberty.
*•Mutual respect and tolerance of those with different
faiths and beliefs and for those without faith
18. *We as students find it interesting learning about how
different cultures live and work throughout the
world and within our country.
*Respect is for everyone, it doesn’t matter who you
are or what you believe in.
*It doesn’t matter what your background is, you are
an individual, accept other peoples beliefs.
* Show that you know right from wrong, believe in
yourself and remember together we are stronger and
together we achieve more.
23. *Now go back to your tutor group
and think with your tutor and form
group about at least one action
that you as Acle Academy students
can do to demonstrate British
Values.
Editor's Notes
These are photos of our students in Tanzania – helping young children learn and showing our British values ..
Year 7 students are the bravest and win the prize for not tolerating racist views followed by Year 10 students. Well done !! Nearly one third of Year 8 students would report an older student for reporting a racist comment . So well done to those and an overwhelming majority of Year 8 students would perhaps report a racist comment overheard in the playground. But what’s happened to our Year 9 students- they do not seem to want to show tolerance and mutual respect by reporting those who make racist comments. Come on Year 9 lets see you show British Values.
