Under the certain circumstances of the low and unacceptable accuracy on image recognition, the feature
extraction method for optical images based on the wavelet space feature spectrum entropy is recently
studied. With this method, the principle that the energy is constant before and after the wavelet
transformation is employed to construct the wavelet energy pattern matrices, and the feature spectrum
entropy of singular value is extracted as the image features by singular value decomposition of the matrix.
At the same time, BP neural network is also applied in image recognition. The experimental results show
that high image recognition accuracy can be acquired by using the feature extraction method for optical
images proposed in this paper, which proves the validity of the method.
A Novel Approach for Moving Object Detection from Dynamic BackgroundIJERA Editor
In computer vision application, moving object detection is the key technology for intelligent video monitoring
system. Performance of an automated visual surveillance system considerably depends on its ability to detect
moving objects in thermodynamic environment. A subsequent action, such as tracking, analyzing the motion or
identifying objects, requires an accurate extraction of the foreground objects, making moving object detection a
crucial part of the system. The aim of this paper is to detect real moving objects from un-stationary background
regions (such as branches and leafs of a tree or a flag waving in the wind), limiting false negatives (objects
pixels that are not detected) as much as possible. In addition, it is assumed that the models of the target objects
and their motion are unknown, so as to achieve maximum application independence (i.e. algorithm works under
the non-prior training).
ADOPTING AND IMPLEMENTATION OF SELF ORGANIZING FEATURE MAP FOR IMAGE FUSIONijistjournal
A different image fusion algorithm based on self organizing feature map is proposed in this paper, aiming to produce quality images. Image Fusion is to integrate complementary and redundant information from multiple images of the same scene to create a single composite image that contains all the important features of the original images. The resulting fused image will thus be more suitable for human and machine perception or for further image processing tasks. The existing fusion techniques based on either direct operation on pixels or segments fail to produce fused images of the required quality and are mostly application based. The existing segmentation algorithms become complicated and time consuming when multiple images are to be fused. A new method of segmenting and fusion of gray scale images adopting Self organizing Feature Maps(SOM) is proposed in this paper. The Self Organizing Feature Maps is adopted to produce multiple slices of the source and reference images based on various combination of gray scale and can dynamically fused depending on the application. The proposed technique is adopted and analyzed for fusion of multiple images. The technique is robust in the sense that there will be no loss in information due to the property of Self Organizing Feature Maps; noise removal in the source images done during processing stage and fusion of multiple images is dynamically done to get the desired results. Experimental results demonstrate that, for the quality multifocus image fusion, the proposed method performs better than some popular image fusion methods in both subjective and objective qualities.

Abstract Object detection is a process of finding the instances of object of a certain class which is useful in analysis of video or image. There are number of algorithms have been developed so far for object detection. Object detection has got significant role in variety of areas of computer vision like video surveillance, image retrieval`. In this paper presented an efficient algorithm for moving object extraction using edge, motion and saliency information from videos. Out methodology includes 4 stages: Frame generation, Pre-processing, Foreground generation and integration of cues. Foreground generation includes edge detection using sobel edge detection algorithm, motion detection using pixel-based absolute difference algorithm and motion saliency detection. Conditional Random Field (CRF) is applied for integration of cues and thus we get better spatial information of segmented object. Keywords: Object detection, Saliency information, Sobel edge detection, CRF.
Image segmentation is useful in many applications. It can identify the regions of interest in a scene or annotate
the data. It categorizes the existing segmentation algorithm into region-based segmentation, data clustering, and
edge-base segmentation. Region-based segmentation includes the seeded and unseeded region growing
algorithms, the JSEG, and the fast scanning algorithm. Due to the presence of speckle noise, segmentation of
Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images is still a challenging problem. We proposed a fast SAR image
segmentation method based on Particle Swarm Optimization-Gravitational Search Algorithm (PSO-GSA). In
this method, threshold estimation is regarded as a search procedure that examinations for an appropriate value in
a continuous grayscale interval. Hence, PSO-GSA algorithm is familiarized to search for the optimal threshold.
Experimental results indicate that our method is superior to GA based, AFS based and ABC based methods in
terms of segmentation accuracy, segmentation time, and Thresholding.

Currently, in both market and the academic communities have required applications based on image and video processing with several real-time constraints. On the other hand, detection of moving objects is a very important task in mobile robotics and surveillance applications. In order to achieve this, we are using a alternative means for real time motion detection systems. This paper proposes hardware architecture for motion detection based on the background subtraction algorithm, which is implemented on FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays). For achieving this, the following steps are executed: (a) a background image (in gray-level format) is stored in an external SRAM memory, (b) a low-pass filter is applied to both the stored and current images, (c) a subtraction operation between both images is obtained, and (d) a morphological filter is applied over the resulting image. Afterward, the gravity center of the object is calculated and sent to a PC (via RS-232 interface).
Visual tracking using particle swarm optimizationcsandit
The problem of robust extraction of visual odometry from a sequence of images obtained by an
eye in hand camera configuration is addressed. A novel approach toward solving planar
template based tracking is proposed which performs a non-linear image alignment for
successful retrieval of camera transformations. In order to obtain global optimum a biometaheuristic
is used for optimization of similarity among the planar regions. The proposed
method is validated on image sequences with real as well as synthetic transformations and
found to be resilient to intensity variations. A comparative analysis of the various similarity
measures as well as various state-of-art methods reveal that the algorithm succeeds in tracking
the planar regions robustly and has good potential to be used in real applications.

An Application of Second Generation Wavelets for Image Denoising using Dual T...IDES Editor
The lifting scheme of the discrete wavelet transform
(DWT) is now quite well established as an efficient technique
for image denoising. The lifting scheme factorization of
biorthogonal filter banks is carried out with a linear-adaptive,
delay free and faster decomposition arithmetic. This adaptive
factorization is aimed to achieve a well transparent, more
generalized, complexity free fast decomposition process in
addition to preserve the features that an ordinary wavelet
decomposition process offers. This work is targeted to get
considerable reduction in computational complexity and power
required for decomposition. The hard striking demerits of
DWT structure viz., shift sensitivity and poor directionality
had already been proven to be washed out with an emergence
of dual tree complex wavelet (DT-CWT) structure. The well
versed features of DT-CWT and robust lifting scheme are
suitably combined to achieve an image denoising with prolific
rise in computational speed and directionality, also with a
desirable drop in computation time, power and complexity of
algorithm compared to all other techniques.
In the presence of dynamic background (such as camouflage, ripples in water) detecting of moving objects
became the very toughest job. In order to subtract the background we are using three techniques in this paper i.e.
CDH, FCDH, FCH. Initially the CDH (color difference histogram) technique used in order to remove the dynamic
background so that it will help us to detect the moving objects by minimizing the false error occurred due to the
non-stationary background. This paper proposes an algorithm FCDH (fuzzy color difference histogram) which
uses the concept of fuzzy C-means clustering (FCM) and updates CDH for reducing the effects of intensity
variations because of some fake motions. This algorithm tested with number of videos available in public.
New Approach for Detecting and Tracking a Moving Object IJECEIAES
This article presents the implementation of a tracking system for a moving target using a fixed camera. The objective of this work is the ability to detect a moving object and locate their positions. In picture processing, tracking moving objects in a known or unknown environment is commonly studied. It is based on invariance properties of objects of interest. The invariance can affect the geometry of the scene or the objects. The proposed approach is composed of several steps; the first is the extraction of points of interest in the current image. Then, these points will be tracked in the following image by using techniques for calculating the optical flow. After this step, the static points will be removed to focus on moving objects, That is to say, there is only the characteristic points belonging to moving objects. Now, to detect moving targets using images of the video, the background is first extracted from the successive images. In our approach, a method of the average values of every pixel has been developed for modeling background. The last step which stays before switching to tracking moving object is the segmentation which allows identifying every moving object. And by using the characteristic points in the previous steps.
ADAPTIVE, SCALABLE, TRANSFORMDOMAIN GLOBAL MOTION ESTIMATION FOR VIDEO STABIL...cscpconf
Video Stabilization, which is important for better analysis and user experience, is typically done through Global Motion Estimation (GME) and Compensation. GME can be done in image domain using many techniques or in Transform domain using the well-known Phase Correlation methods which relate motion to phase shift in the spectrum. While image domain methods are generally slower (due to dense vector field computations), they can do global as well as local motion estimation. Transform domain methods cannot normally do local motion, but are faster and more accurate on homogeneous images, and are resilient to even rapid illumination changes and large motion. However both these approaches can become very time consuming if one needs more accuracy and smoothness because of the nature of the tradeoff. We show here that wavelet transforms can be used in a novel way to achieve a very smooth stabilization along with a significant speedup in this Fourier domain computation without sacrificing accuracy. We
do this by adaptively selecting and combining motion computed on a specific pair of sub-bands using the wavelet interpolation capability. Our approach yields a smooth, scalable, fast and
adaptive algorithm (based on time requirement and recent motion history) to yield significantly better accuracy than a single level wavelet decomposition based approach.

Abstract Object tracking is an interesting and needed procedure for many real time applications. But it is a challenging one, because of the presence of challenging sequences with abrupt motion, drastic illumination change, large pose variation, occlusion, cluttered background and also the camera shake. This paper presents a novel method of object tracking by using the algorithms spatio-temporal Markov random field (STMRF) and online discriminative feature selection (ODFS), which overcome the above mentioned problems and provide a better tracking process. This method is also capable of tracking multiple objects in video sequence even in the presence of an object interactions and occlusions that achieves better results with real time performance. Keywords: Video object tracking, spatio-temporal Markov random field (ST-MRF), online discriminative feature selection (ODFS).

An adaptive gmm approach to background subtraction for application in real ti...eSAT Journals
Abstract Efficient security management has become an important parameter in today’s world. As the problem is growing, there is an urgent need for the introduction of advanced technology and equipment to improve the state-of art of surveillance. In this paper we propose a model for real time background subtraction using AGMM. The proposed model is robust and adaptable to dynamic background, fast illumination changes, repetitive motion. Also we have incorporated a method for detecting shadows using the Horpresert color model. The proposed model can be employed for monitoring areas where movement or entry is highly restricted. So on detection of any unexpected events in the scene an alarm can be triggered and hence we can achieve real time surveillance even in the absence of constant human monitoring. Keywords-Background subtraction, Adaptive Gaussian Mixture model (AGMM), surveillance, Horpresert color model.

A Survey On Tracking Moving Objects Using Various AlgorithmsIJMTST Journal
Sparse representation has been applied to the object tracking problem. Mining the self- similarities between particles via multitask learning can improve tracking performance. How-ever, some particles may be different from others when they are sampled from a large region. Imposing all particles share the same structure may degrade the results. To overcome this problem, we propose a tracking algorithm based on robust multitask sparse representation (RMTT) in this letter. When we learn the particle representations, we decompose the sparse coefficient matrix into two parts in our algorithm. Joint sparse regularization is imposed on one coefficient matrix while element-wise sparse regularization is imposed on another matrix. The former regularization exploits self-similarities of particles while the later one considers the differences between them.

Courier management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
Work done in cooperation with James Malloy and David Moelling from Tetra Engineering.
