This document discusses a computer aided touchless palmprint recognition system using Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT). SIFT is used to extract features from touchless palmprint images that are invariant to changes in scale, rotation, and translation. The system involves preprocessing images, extracting SIFT features, and matching features to recognize and authenticate individuals. An experiment was conducted using 16 real palmprint images with varying conditions. The system achieved 93.75% accuracy in recognition using SIFT features, demonstrating its effectiveness for touchless palmprint recognition compared to other approaches. Future work could explore using color information and developing algorithms to handle variations like cosmetics or injuries.
Gesture Recognition using Principle Component Analysis & Viola-Jones AlgorithmIJMER
Gesture recognition pertains to recognizing meaningful expressions of motion by a human,
involving the hands, arms, face, head, and/or body. It is of utmost importance in designing an intelligent
and efficient human–computer interface. The applications of gesture recognition are manifold, ranging
from sign language through medical rehabilitation to virtual reality. In this paper, we provide a survey on
gesture recognition with particular emphasis on hand gestures and facial expressions. Applications
involving wavelet transform and principal component analysis for face and hand gesture recognition on
digital images
The paper presents a methodology for detecting a virtual passive pointer. The passive pointer or device does not have any active energy source within it (as opposed to a laser pointer) and thus cannot easily be detected or identified. The modeling and simulation task is carried out by generating high resolution color images of a pointer viewing via two digital cameras with a popular three-dimensional (3D) computer graphics and animation program, Studio 3D Max by Discreet. These images are then retrieved for analysis into a Microsoft’s Visual C++ program developed based on the theory of image triangulation. The program outputs a precise coordinates of the pointer in the 3D space in addition to it’s projection on a view screen located in a large display/presentation room. The computational results of the pointer projection are compared with the known locations specified by the Studio 3D Max for different simulated configurations. High pointing accuracy is achieved: a pointer kept 30 feet away correctly hits the target location within a few inches. Thus this technology can be used in presenter-audience applications.

Abstract In this paper, we present the method of “FPGA implementation of image segmentation by using edge detection based on the sobel edge operator” .due to advancement in computer vision it can be implemented in fpga based architecture. image segmentation separates an image into component regions and object. Segmentation needs to segment the object from the background to read image properly and identify the image carefully. Edge detection is fundamental tool for image segmentation. Sobel edge operator, which is very popular edge detection algorithms, is considered in this work. Sobel method uses the derivative approximation to find edge and perform 2-D spatial gradient measurement for images uses horizontal and vertical gradient matrices .The fpga device providing good performance of integrated circuit platform for research and development. The compact structure of image segmentation into edge detection can be implemented in MAT LAB using VHDL code and the waveform is shown in the model sim.. An efficient method for recognizing the low quality fingerprint verification ...IJCI JOURNAL
In this paper, we propose an efficient method to provide personal identification using fingerprint to get better accuracy even in noisy condition. The fingerprint matching based on the number of corresponding minutia pairings, has been in use for a long time, which is not very efficient for recognizing the low quality fingerprints. To overcome this problem, correlation technique is used. The correlation-based fingerprint verification system is capable of dealing with low quality images from which no minutiae can be extracted reliably and with fingerprints that suffer from non-uniform shape distortions, also in case of damaged and partial images. Orientation Field Methodology (OFM) has been used as a preprocessing module, and it converts the images into a field pattern based on the direction of the ridges, loops and bifurcations in the image of a fingerprint. The input image is then Cross Correlated (CC) with all the images in the cluster and the highest correlated image is taken as the output. The result gives a good recognition rate, as the proposed scheme uses Cross Correlation of Field Orientation (CCFO = OFM + CC) for fingerprint identification.

The measurement of a plant growth without interrupting its natural growth is essential since its diameter and height are related to the development of a tree as well as the water contents. Therefore main objective of this project is to find the diameter and height of a plant. Hence in this proposed work, an interface between a C3008 smart camera and a computer has been developed. Main advantage of this camera module is that it has digital output and digital video port that supplies a continuous 8-16 bit range of data stream. It is used to capture the image of a plant at different intervals of time. A MATLAB GUI has been developed for performing Sobel Edge Detection on a plant image to determine its height, maximum and minimum width. Such programs enable us to automatically measure and record the various parameters of a plant. The results attained prove that the system is capable of measuring the changes (diameter and height changes) of plant’s growth accurately.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.

These pipelines are adept at managing low-latency, high-data-volume scenarios.
A review on techniques and modelling methodologies used for checking electrom...nooriasukmaningtyas
The proper function of the integrated circuit (IC) in an inhibiting electromagnetic environment has always been a serious concern throughout the decades of revolution in the world of electronics, from disjunct devices to today’s integrated circuit technology, where billions of transistors are combined on a single chip. The automotive industry and smart vehicles in particular, are confronting design issues such as being prone to electromagnetic interference (EMI). Electronic control devices calculate incorrect outputs because of EMI and sensors give misleading values which can prove fatal in case of automotives. In this paper, the authors have non exhaustively tried to review research work concerned with the investigation of EMI in ICs and prediction of this EMI using various modelling methodologies and measurement setups.
