This document summarizes research on the synthesis and characterization of Zn0.85Ni0.1Mg0.05Fe2O4 nanoparticles. The nanoparticles were synthesized using a sol-gel combustion method with zinc nitrate, nickel nitrate, magnesium nitrate and ferric nitrate as raw materials. The synthesized nanoparticles were characterized using X-ray powder diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy. XRD analysis confirmed the nanoparticles had a single-phase cubic spinel structure. FTIR analysis showed the presence of tetrahedral and octahedral sites. The optical band gap was determined to be 2.4 eV, indicating semiconductor behavior.
