This document discusses using the Kaizen technique to improve the quality of adaptors manufactured by Sigma Electric Manufacturing Corporation Pvt. Ltd. Kaizen focuses on reducing rejections, increasing productivity, minimizing scrap, and reducing rework. Pareto analysis identified the main defects as porosity and dents. Changes were made to address these issues, such as increasing casting pressure and modifying gating systems. Additional modifications included specialized transport bins to prevent scratches, a fettling fixture, and rubber nozzle coatings. Painting defects were addressed through improved masking. Thermal expansion during curing was accounted for. The glass beading process was replaced with shot blasting to improve productivity.
