This document presents an experimental study on using nanofluids to enhance heat transfer in a car radiator. Aluminum oxide nanoparticles were added to water at concentrations from 0.025% to 0.1% by volume to create nanofluids. The nanofluids and water were circulated through a test radiator at flow rates from 50 to 60 liters per minute. Results showed that heat transfer performance of the radiator increased with both higher nanoparticle concentrations and higher flow rates. The maximum 36% increase in heat transfer occurred with the highest 0.1% nanoparticle concentration nanofluid. Nusselt number, a measure of heat transfer, increased with heat transfer coefficient but did not significantly change with nanoparticle concentration

Abstract Using nanofluids as an innovative kind of liquid blend including trivial volume fraction (in percent) of millimeter or nanometer size powdered particles with base fluids is fairly a novel arena or idea. The objective of this presented review paper is to inspect the performance of the nanofluid-based solar collector (NBSC). In past few years for a number of experimental and industrial thermal engineering systems solar energy has proven to be the best input energy source. Nanofluids are the fluid that has shown various developments in the thermal properties over the past decade. In the field of nanotechnology, nano fluids have a great potential to enhance the rheological properties like thermal conductivity of base fluid like water, ethanol etc. Nanofluids are the suspension of mainly the base fluid like water in nanoparticles such as alumina (Al2O3) of size micro or milimetre and shows distinctive features than that of conservative fluids used. Because of better rheological properties nanofluids are utilized to build up the performance of conventional solar thermal engineering systems. The presented literature review presents a detailed discussion about the solar collectors, applications of nanofluids in solar collector and their augmentation in thermo physical properties. To study the application of nanorefrigerant in refrigeration system a revieweSAT Journals
Abstract In past time only refrigerants were used in refrigeration process and they were having a global warming coefficient at high level. Now, as time change the modern techniques are coming into existence with the help of them the refrigeration process become more efficient and safe as compare to previous in atmospheric prospective. This review paper is based on the nanotechnologies used in present time in refrigeration system like vapour compression refrigeration system, domestic refrigerator and air conditioner etc. The nano refrigerant is nothing but the combined form of nano particle with the refrigerant. The nanorefrigerant can be formed by two ways (1) by mixing nano particles with refrigerant in gaseous form, (2) by mixing nano particles to lubricant. We will combine different nano particles having the same diameter and same volume fraction with the lubricant to study the nature of thermo-physical properties in refrigeration process. There would be some parameters that can be studied by this experiment like energy consumption, heat transfer, cop etc. Keywords: nano particles, nano refrigerant, heat transfer coefficient, COP, Energy consumption.

Abstract A nanofluid is a mixture of nano sized particles of size up to 100 nm and a base fluid. Typical nanoparticles are made of metals, oxides or carbides, while base fluids may be water, ethylene glycol or oil. The effect of nanofluid to enhance the heat transfer rate in various heat exchangers is experimentally evaluated recently. The heat transfer enhancement using nanofluid mainly depends on type of nanoparticles, size of nanoparticles and concentration of nanoparticles in base fluid. In the present paper, an experimental investigation is carried out to determine the effect of various concentration of Al2O3 nano-dispersion mixed in water as base fluid on heat transfer characteristics of double pipe heat exchanger for parallel flow and counter flow arrangement. The volume concentrations of Al2O3 nanofluid prepared are 0.001 % to 0.01 %. The conclusion derived for the study is that overall heat transfer coefficient increases with increase in volume concentration of Al2O3 nano-dispersion compared to water up to volume concentration of 0.008 % and then decreases. Packed Bed Reactor for Catalytic Cracking of Plasma Pyrolyzed Gasijsrd.com
Packed bed reactors play vital role in chemical industries for obtaining valuable product, like steam reforming of natural gas, ammonia synthesis, sulphuric acid production, methanol synthesis, methanol oxidation, butadiene production, styrene production. It is not only used for production but also used in separation process like adsorption, distillation and stripping section. Packed bed reactors are work horse of the chemical and petroleum industries. Its low cost, and simplicity makes it first choice to any chemical processes. In our experimental work vacuum residue is used as a feed which is pyrolyzed in the primary chamber with the help of plasma into hydrogen and hydrocarbon gases which is feed stream to the Ni catalyst containing packed bed reactor called catalytic cracker. Ni loading in the catalyst about 70 % is used to crack or decompose lower molecular hydrocarbon in to hydrogen to maximize the energy content per mass flow of gas steam and also to minimize the carbon dioxide equivalent gases at outlet of the reactor. Since cracking is surface phenomena so the catalyst play important role in designing of reactor shape. Parallel Catalytic packed bed with regeneration and deactivation can be used for commercial production of clean fuel.

CFD Analysis for Heat Transfer Enhancement Using Nano Fluids in Double Pipe H...ijtsrd
This work includes the effect of different working fluid on the performance of heat exchanger. For analysing the effect of different working fluid, it considered air, water and different nanofluids and measure the Nusselt number and friction factor for each case. It also analysed the effect of change in Reynolds number on the performance of heat exchanger for different working fluids. For analysing the effect of change in Reynolds number, it considered four different Reynolds numbers that is 10000, 12000, 14000 and 16000. For performing the numerical analysis ANSYS fluent was used. Through numerical analysis it is found that for air as a working fluid heat transfer is less, whereas in case of water it is marginally higher than the air. But for all nano fluids, heat transfer is much higher than the air and water. For analysing the effect of different nano fluid, this work includes three nano fluids that are Al2O3, TiO2and ZrO2. Through analysis it is concluded that heat transfer is more in case of TiO2 as compared to other nanofluids, air and water. With increase in Re number heat transfer gets increase whereas as friction factor get decrease. Review of magnetic refrigeration system as alternative to conventional refrig...Naji Abdullah
The refrigeration system is one of the most important systems in industry.
Developers are constantly seeking for how to avoid the damage to the environment. Magnetic
refrigeration is an emerging, environment-friendly technology based on a magnetic solid that
acts as a refrigerant by magneto-caloric effect (MCE). In the case of ferromagnetic materials,
MCE warms as the magnetic moments of the atom are aligned by the application of a magnetic
field. There are two types of magnetic phase changes that may occur at the Curie point: first
order magnetic transition (FOMT) and second order magnetic transition (SOMT). The
reference cycle for magnetic refrigeration is AMR (Active Magnetic Regenerative cycle),
where the magnetic material matrix works both as a refrigerating medium and as a heat
regenerating medium, while the fluid flowing in the porous matrix works as a heat transfer
medium. Regeneration can be accomplished by blowing a heat transfer fluid in a reciprocating
fashion through the regenerator made of magnetocaloric material that is alternately magnetized
and demagnetized. Many magnetic refrigeration prototypes with different designs and software
models have been built in different parts of the world. In this paper, the authors try to shed
light on the magnetic refrigeration and show its effectiveness compared with conventional
refrigeration methods.

Critical heat flux enhancement in pool boiling with al2 o3 water nanofluideSAT Journals
Abstract Boiling is an important phase change phenomena as it plays a crucial role in the design of high heat flux system like boilers, heat exchangers, microscopic heat transfer devices. However boiling phenomenon is limited by critical heat flux. At critical heat flux material of heated surface suffers physical damage due to lower heat transfer resulting from thin film formed over the surface. Now a days Nanofluid which is colloidal suspension of nanoparticle in base fluid is highlighted as innovative techniques to enhance critical heat flux. In the present study Al2O3 nanoparticles were characterized by using SEM and XRD analysis. From SEM images it was seen that nanoparticle has spherical morphology, and from XRD analysis average nanoparticle size determined was 29.48 nm. Five different nanofluids of concentration range from 3 gram/liter to 15 gram/liter were prepared. Critical heat flux (CHF) of each Al2O3-water nanofluid in pool boiling is determined on NiCr wire of SWG 28. The minimum critical heat flux enhancement is 30.53% at 3 gram/liter nanofluid compared to critical heat flux of distilled water. The highest critical heat flux enhancement is 72.70 % at 12 gram/liter nanofluid. Critical heat flux of nanofluid increases with increase in concentration of Al2O3 nanoparticle in distilled water up to 12 gram/liter nanofluid. Surface roughness of bare wire was 0.126 μm. Surface roughness of wire sample used in pool boiling of 3 gram/liter nanofluid is 0.299μm and highest surface roughness was 0.715 μm of heater used in pool boiling of 12 gram/liter nanofluid. The Surface roughness measurement results show the evidence of nanoparticle deposition on wire surface and its effect on Critical Heat Flux enhancement. Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
