This document summarizes a project involving real-time transmission of sensor measurements and video streams from drones to a utility control center. Drones equipped with sensors were flown over an electric utility training site to measure parameters like temperature, humidity, and magnetic fields. The drone communications included WiFi and a fiber optic network. Sensor data and video feeds were transmitted to and displayed at the control center in real-time, demonstrating the potential for drone-enabled inspections and monitoring of electric grid infrastructure.
