This document describes a project to design an intelligent ambulance car that can control traffic lights. An infrared transmitter would be installed in ambulances to send a signal to receivers at intersections. The microcontroller at intersections would detect the ambulance's signal and switch all lights to green in the ambulance's direction and red in other directions, clearing a path for the emergency vehicle. The goal is to reduce waiting times at lights for ambulances responding to emergencies to save time. Block diagrams and interfaces like sensors, displays and buttons are discussed. Software like compilers and debug tools would be used to program the microcontrollers.
This project was done by the students of Department of Computer Science and Engineering, International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC).

With the vast growing influx of population in the developed, industrially and technologically sound urban cities, an urgent need to make the cities smart is surmounted. The cities are made smart utilizing data sharing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, analytics, and thousands of RFID tags and sensors. One of the significant concerns of today's smart cities is the growing need to manage the vehicles on-road as well as to create sufficient and well-managed parking lots to prevent urban areas from traffic congestion. This leads to a call for highly automated parking management system self-sufficient in guiding the driver to an available parking space in the nearby area. This project deals with the prototype of the smart parking system (S.P system). The proposed smart parking system collects the parking availability status and assists drivers in finding parking space that effectively reduces the traffic problems and mismanagement across the cities to a great extent.

The main purpose behind this project is “Drunk driving detection”. Now a days, many accidents are happening because of the alcohol consumption of the driver or the person who is driving the vehicle. Thus, Drunk driving is a major reason of accidents in almost all the countries in the world. Alcohol Detector in Car project is designed for the safety of the people seating inside the car. This project should be fitted / installed inside the vehicle. If any Accident occurs then engine goes off and Alarm goes on. If there is no alcohol / no accident, then the Engine remains on and Alarm remains off. Even, if the Alcohol is detected, the engine goes off Alarm starts beeping.

Implementing Intelligent Traffic Control System for Congestion Control, Ambulance Clearance, and Stolen Vehicle Detection
This paper presents an intelligent traffic control system to pass emergency vehicles smoothly. Each individual vehicle is equipped with special radio frequency identification (RFID) tag (placed at a strategic location), which makes it impossible to remove or destroy. We use RFID reader, NSK EDK-125–TTL, and PIC16F877A system-on-chip to read the RFID tags attached to the vehicle. It counts number of vehicles that passes on a particular path during a specified duration. It also determines the network congestion, and hence the green light duration for that path. If the RFID-tag-read belongs to the stolen vehicle, then a message is sent using GSM SIM300 to the police control room. In addition, when an ambulance is approaching the junction, it will communicate to the traffic controller in the junction to turn ON the green light. This module uses ZigBee modules on CC2500 and PIC16F877A system-on-chip for wireless communications between the ambulance and traffic controller.

This project report is based on wireless based traffic control for emergency vehicle. In which we use the RF receiver and transmitter with an encoder and decoder module.
Due to the heavy traffic in the road many people are suffering. Even though there is traffic signal available at various places it is not easy to control the crowd. In order to avoid traffic problem heavily on the road, we designed and developed a system so called as traffic controller with wireless control for ambulance and VIP vehicles. In this paper, we proposed an Implementing Intelligent Traffic Control for Congestion, Ambulance clearance, and Stolen Vehicle Detection. This system was implemented based on present criteria that tracking three conditions in those one is heavy traffic control and another one is making a root of emergency vehicle like ambulance and VIP vehicle. In this paper we are going to implement a sensor network work which is used to detect the traffic density and also use RFID reader and tags. We use AVR system-on-chip to read the RFID tags attached to the vehicles. It counts number of vehicles that passes on a particular path during a specified duration using infrared sensor. If the RFID tag read belongs to the stolen vehicles. GSM SIM900 used for message sending towards the police control room. In addition, when an ambulance or some VIP vehicle if approach the junction, it will communicate the traffic controller in the junction to turn on the green light in the path.

of signal will change automatically on sensing the traffic density at any junction using the IoT technology. Traffic
congestion is a severe problem in most cities across the world and therefore it is time to shift more manual mode
or fixed timer mode to an automated system with decision making capabilities. To optimize this problem, we have
made a framework for an intelligent traffic control system. Sometimes higher traffic density at one side of the
junction demands longer green time as compared to standard allotted time. We therefore propose here a
mechanism in which the time period of green light and red light is assigned on the basis of the density of the
traffic present at the time. This is achieved by using LIDAR sensors.

A smart street lighting system incorporates clusters of streetlight lamps that can communicate with each other and provide lighting data to a local centraliser. The centraliser manages and transmits the relevant data, often via a wireless network or GSM, to a secure server that captures the data and presents it in a web-browser interface.
This acts as a two-way communication which allows facility managers to remotely control the street lights while keeping track of electrical power consumption.
Compared to the traditional autonomous street lights, monitored Street Lights through our device with the add-ons of remotely pin-pointing of faulty lights help in reducing maintenance costs – help to make it more efficient and cost-effective.

in the circuit.
Traffic density on roads in big cities like Delhi, Bombay, Calcutta, and
Madras has become so high that it requires a lot of planning for smooth flow
of the traffic on the roads. Therefore the traffic lights have been installed at
almost all major traffic crossings in these cities.
The given project is a basic traffic light control system using
emergency case as an ambulance, fire brigade etc. That drives to reset all
traffic lights, switched on green light at ambulance side and other three side
red light. All emergency vehicles have a transmitter which transmits the IR
signal (RF). Transmitter section is used into ambulance car which controlled
to traffic light.
This module emits modulated infrared light. IR-LED is
connected in series for more range and wider directivity. The module can
transmit IR rays up to few meters without use of any external lens.
Traffic light has a receiver.
The receiver uses infrared module
(photodiode). The output of the photodiode is connected to microcontroller.
Microcontroller is wired here in time delay and switching mode.

Traffic in a city is very much affected by traffic light controllers. When
waiting for a traffic light, the driver looses time and the car uses fuel. Hence,
reducing waiting times before traffic lights can save our European society
billions of Euros annually. To make traffic light controllers more intelligent,
we exploit the emergence of novel technologies such as communication
networks and sensor networks, as well as the use of more sophisticated
algorithms for setting traffic lights. Intelligent traffic light control does not
only mean that traffic lights are set in order to minimize waiting times of
road users, but also that road users receive information about how to drive
through a city in order to minimize their waiting times. This means that we
are coping with a complex multi-agent system, where communication and
coordination play essential roles. Our research has led to a novel system in
which traffic light controllers and the behavior of car drivers are optimized
using machine-learning methods.
