This document describes an intelligent traffic light control system using infrared sensors and a microcontroller. The system aims to reduce traffic jams by dynamically adjusting traffic light timings based on real-time vehicle counts from IR sensors. It uses an 89V51RD2 microcontroller to control IR LEDs and sensors, count vehicles, and update light delays. Recorded vehicle data can be downloaded to analyze traffic patterns and further optimize light timings. The system provides a way to remotely monitor traffic conditions and reduce congestion across a city in real-time.
