PROPOSAL ON
INSTALLMENT OF DATABASE
MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Introduction
The world is progressing at break neck
speed and time is money . This calls for a
total overhaul of existing systems. There is
an urgent need to shift from manual
procedures to automated processes. These
processes are not only faster but also more
efficient in time and space complexity
A database management system (DBMS)
is a computer program (or more
typically, a suite of them) designed to
manage a database, a large set of
structured data, and run operations on
the data requested by numerous users
Statement of Problem
Traditional approaches rely on manual procedures to
accomplish the tasks . This has become very difficult
not only in terms of the data redundancy caused
but also because of the labour costs involved.
This calls for a need to replace the existing systems
with something that is more efficient and cost
effective.
AIM
• Our goal in this project is to replace the current
paper-based or stand-alone legacy student
database system in UPES with a web-based
database system so that college, staff, and
student will be benefited from data collection
and information sharing efficiency
Objective
• To optimize the data management process
• To Reduce the labour costs
RISK ANALYSIS
• EVALUATION OF RISKS
The major risks are
• 1.Data security
• 2.Update availability
• 1.DATA SECURITY
• The bit by bit provides restriced access to the server
and also monitors network traffic.
• 2.UPDATE AVAILABILITY
• The system is completely scalabe and interoperable.
• Hence any new features can just be added onto the
existing system and there is no need to take the
entire system offline.
Methodology
• The project team will create a blueprint for
laying the networking devise after an inspection
of the site. It will then commence installation of
the physical components.
• This will be followed by setting up of an on site
office and training of technicans.
• Simultaneously , the software will be initialised
data will be mounted.
• After fixed periods , as requested by the
customer, updating and de bugging activities
will be carried out

Limitation
• Database systems are complex, difficult, and
time-consuming to design
• Substantial hardware and software start-up
costs
• Damage to database affects virtually all
applications programs
• Extensive conversion costs in moving form a
file-based system to a database system
• Initial training required for all programmers
and users
Benefits
• CONTROLS DATA REDUNDANCY
• SAVES COSTS
• ENSURES DATA SECURITY
• SAVES TIME
• SAVES SPACE
Conclusion
The benefits offered clerly outweigh the risks
and data being a very important commodity
necessitates the need for such an automated
system.
• Findings and analysis
• saves time
