CONTENT ANALYSIS 
TERMS : Fold mountsins - block mountains - relict mountains - volcanic mountains - Alps - Andes, Rockies - 
Black forest - vosges 
PLACES : Germany, France, India, Rajasthanb, Gujarat 
FACTS : ♦ Those landforms which have a height of 900 meters or more above sea level are called mountains. 
♦ They have been divided into four on the basis of their origin. 
♦ Fold mountains, block mountains, relict mountains and volcanic mountains were the example of different 
forms of mountains. 
♦ Fold mountains are higher when compared to other mountains. 
♦ Folding of the plates cause fold mountains to form 
♦ Himalayas, Alps, Andes, the Rockies are the example of fold mountains. 
♦ The block mountains are formed as result of uplight of land forms due to faulting. 
♦ These mountains have flat tops and steep sides. 
♦ Due to the different weathering processes of prolonged duration, the rocks that are not very resistant get 
disintegrated and only those resitant part remain. These mountains are called residual mountains. 
♦ Climate, mineral wealth, Hydro - electric power etc are the various features that dicribes the influence of 
moutains on man. 
CONCEPT : In human life mountains plays a significant role, and its influence on man is very important. 
PRE REQUISTE : Students have the knowledge about the volcano mountains. 
TEACHING - LEARNING 
RESOURCES : ♦ Chart of pictures of mountains. 
♦ Flashcards representing different form of mountains
Classroom Interaction Prceedure Pupil Response 
Introduction 
1. Which is the highest peak in the world? 
2. Where is Everest situated or Mt. Everest is which mountains part? 
3. Do you know Himalayas are which type of mountains? 
Yes Himalayas are the example of fold mountains. After explaining this teacher entering the 
presentation of topic

“Mountains” 
PRESENTATION 
Activity - 1 
Teacher asks the student have you heared about mountains? Then the teacher discuss about mountains 
with the help of showing slide. 
Those landforms which have a height of 900 metres or more above sea level are called mountains 
Activity - 2 
Then teacher present another slide, through explaining mountains have been divided into four on the 
basis of their origin. 
1. Fold mountains 
2. Block mountains 
3. Relict mountains 
4. Volcanic Mountains 
Then teacher and student dicussed about volcano mountains that was they learned previously. 
Activity - 3 
Teacher discuss about fold mountains with the help of showing slide. 
Fold Mountains 
Folding of the plates casuses fold mountains to form 
They are higher compared to other mountains. 
Then teacher explains about other features of fold mountains and saying Himalayas, Alps, the Andes, the 
Rockies are all fold mountains.
Activity - 4 
For discussing about block mountains teacher present the next slide. 
Block Moutains 
It is formed as a result of uplift of land forms due to faulting. 
These have flat tops and steep sides. 
Then teacher explains the examples and other features of block mountains. 
Activity - 5 
Teacher explaining about residual mountains with the help of showing slide. 
Residual mountains 
Due to different weathering processes of prolonged duration, the rocks that are not very resistant get

Activity - 6 
To disucss about ‘The influence of mountains on Man’, teacher divided all students into four groups. 
Afterr writting their points group leader presents their answer. Then speaking about major points in the 
topic teacher concluded the topic. 
REVIEW 
1. What are called mountains? 
2. Which are the vaious forms of mountains on the basis of their origin? 
3. Which is the highest peak in the world? 
4. What is fold mountains? 
5. Give examples of residual mountains? 
6. How mountains influence on man? 
FOLLOW UP ACTIVITY 
Collect pictures of moutains and fix on a chart then hang on your class room wall.

LEARNING OUTCOME : ♦ To define the importance of mountains ♦ To compare different types of mountans ♦ To findout the influence of mountains on man ♦ To know various features of Himalayas CONTENT ANALYSIS TERMS : Fold mountsins - block mountains - relict mountains - volcanic mountains - Alps - Andes, Rockies - Black forest - vosges PLACES : Germany, France, India, Rajasthanb, Gujarat FACTS : ♦ Those landforms which have a height of 900 meters or more above sea level are called mountains. ♦ They have been divided into four on the basis of their origin. ♦ Fold mountains, block mountains, relict mountains and volcanic mountains were the example of different forms of mountains. ♦ Fold mountains are higher when compared to other mountains. ♦ Folding of the plates cause fold mountains to form ♦ Himalayas, Alps, Andes, the Rockies are the example of fold mountains. ♦ The block mountains are formed as result of uplight of land forms due to faulting. ♦ These mountains have flat tops and steep sides. ♦ Due to the different weathering processes of prolonged duration, the rocks that are not very resistant get disintegrated and only those resitant part remain. These mountains are called residual mountains. ♦ Climate, mineral wealth, Hydro - electric power etc are the various features that dicribes the influence of moutains on man. CONCEPT : In human life mountains plays a significant role, and its influence on man is very important. PRE REQUISTE : Students have the knowledge about the volcano mountains. TEACHING - LEARNING RESOURCES : ♦ Chart of pictures of mountains. ♦ Flashcards representing different form of mountains
  • 3. Classroom Interaction Prceedure Pupil Response Introduction 1. Which is the highest peak in the world? 2. Where is Everest situated or Mt. Everest is which mountains part? 3. Do you know Himalayas are which type of mountains? Yes Himalayas are the example of fold mountains. After explaining this teacher entering the presentation of topic B.B. “Mountains” PRESENTATION Activity - 1 Teacher asks the student have you heared about mountains? Then the teacher discuss about mountains with the help of showing slide. Those landforms which have a height of 900 metres or more above sea level are called mountains Activity - 2 Then teacher present another slide, through explaining mountains have been divided into four on the basis of their origin. 1. Fold mountains 2. Block mountains 3. Relict mountains 4. Volcanic Mountains Then teacher and student dicussed about volcano mountains that was they learned previously. Activity - 3 Teacher discuss about fold mountains with the help of showing slide. Fold Mountains Folding of the plates casuses fold mountains to form They are higher compared to other mountains. Then teacher explains about other features of fold mountains and saying Himalayas, Alps, the Andes, the Rockies are all fold mountains.
  • 4. Activity - 4 For discussing about block mountains teacher present the next slide. Block Moutains It is formed as a result of uplift of land forms due to faulting. These have flat tops and steep sides. Then teacher explains the examples and other features of block mountains. Activity - 5 Teacher explaining about residual mountains with the help of showing slide. Residual mountains Due to different weathering processes of prolonged duration, the rocks that are not very resistant get disintegrated and only those resistant parts remain. These mountains are called residual mountains. Activity - 6 To disucss about ‘The influence of mountains on Man’, teacher divided all students into four groups. Afterr writting their points group leader presents their answer. Then speaking about major points in the topic teacher concluded the topic. REVIEW 1. What are called mountains? 2. Which are the vaious forms of mountains on the basis of their origin? 3. Which is the highest peak in the world? 4. What is fold mountains? 5. Give examples of residual mountains? 6. How mountains influence on man? FOLLOW UP ACTIVITY Collect pictures of moutains and fix on a chart then hang on your class room wall.
