1. Cockroaches cockroaches can live without their head but only for a few days. They can go without
food longer than they can go without water. Cockroaches have 6 legs and 18 knees and are said to be
one of fastest moving insects. A female cockroach mates only once, but remains pregnant for the rest
of her life.
2. Fleas fleas don t have wings. They travel from host to host by jumping. It is said that a flea can
jump approximately 120 times its height. Did you know that female fleas are larger than the males?

Housefly The common housefly is considered one of the most dangerous insect. They carry and
transmit diseases. Think about where you find them when they aren t annoying you. Flies can t ingest
solid food. In fact they regurgitate their food to liquefy it so they can eat it. I really know why I hate a
fly now.
7. Ants Did you know that ant s don t sleep? Ants are super strong and it is estimated that they can lift
20 times their own body weight. Without a queen ant, the entire colony will die. Why? Because no
new worker ants are born to serve the colony. Ants can t chew their food. Instead they move their jaw
from side to side to extract juice from their food.
8. Wasps and Bees Approximately 100 or more deaths each year are contributed to wasp and bee
stings.
9. Termites In almost all cases termite workers and soldiers are blind. Termite soldiers warn the colony
of threats by tapping out warning signals against available surfaces.
10. Spiders No one spider web is identical. Each is a custom design and some say are a thing of
beauty. Most of us of courses prefer to simply get rid of the web and the occupant. Did you know that
spiders are actually beneficial? They catch and eat other pests. Not all spiders are poisonous. And
some spiders are actually musicians. No seriously, they pluck there webs strands to attract

The Maurya Empire And The Mughal Empire
The two most expansive empires to exist on the subcontinent of India are the Maurya Empire which
dominated ancient India from 322 BCE to 187 BCE and the Mughal Empire which had control from
1526 to 1857 until the British Raj took over. Although these empires existed almost two thousand
years apart, they have a great deal in common including what made them such successful and far
reaching political forces, and maintain differences like what succeeded them after their downfalls. The
Mauryan Empire is considered to be one of the most successful of its time. At its zenith it spanned
nearly 2 million square miles and boasted a population of about 60 million, making it the largest
Indian empire in history and one of the most populated empires of Antiquity. This was not unlike the
Mughal Empire, whose reach was upwards of 1.5 million square miles with a population of over 158
million in 1700. When viewed on a map, the kingdoms are nearly identical in geographical span,
occupying the vast majority of what is now India and Afghanistan. While both dynasties expanded
their empires, the Mauryan dynasty s expansion was far more significant than that of the Mughal
which is better known for unifying kingdoms within the Indian subcontinent after taking control from
the Delhi Sultanate. The most famed ruler of the Maurya Empire was Ashoka who took over the
empire in 272 BCE after the death of his father, Bindusara. He was noted for being a young, powerful
king whose military prowess was

Analysis Of Les Mills New Zealand
MGMT 101 LES MILLS Les Mills New Zealand (Les Mills) was started in 1968, they have pioneered
many aspects of the modern fitness industry and are at the forefront worldwide. This report will
discuss relevant management techniques and theories that relate to Les Mills current situation.
ORGANISATIONAL BEHAVIOUR McGREGOR S X AND Y THEORY McGregors X and Y theory
are his model that he used to urge managers to move away from the set of assumptions he called
Theory X (people dislike work, lack ambition, prefer to be led than lead) and towards Theory Y.
Theory Y assumes people are willing to work, capable of self control, thrive when given responsibility
and the opportunity to self direct. Les Mills managers display strong Theory Y perspectives and this
helps to empower employee s by promoting continual staff development through a variety of avenues.
The Little Yellow Book (LYB) focuses on the values the company follows and the ways in which it
wishes to do business. The book states the purpose of Les Mills ( To improve the lives of New
Zealanders ) and gives direction to the staff, educating them on 5 key business strategies. The book
also outlines the way in which employees are expected to behave and the things Les Mills expects of
them. The LYB is integral to empowering employees by endowing them with responsibilities and
expectations the company has for them. By doing this they are offering employees opportunities for
building self esteem and satisfying

Essay Negative Effects of Television on Children
Television is a big part of today s society. Everybody watches television, including the children. There
is a potential problem with letting children watch television. Ask this question, would someone let
their own child watch some of the programming that they watch, too? Some of these programs are
intended for the adult generation, not young children. Violence has a major role in television these
days. Letting children watch this violence could corrupt their minds and eventually lead to bad
behavior. There needs to be a limitation on the types of television programming that parents let their
children watch, because violence in television can negatively affect children.
Throughout the years, violence has become more common in television ... Show more content on

If parents restrict their children in only watching educational shows rather than violence, the influence
of children would rather be more useful and not corrupted.
Children view violence in different ways when they watch it on television, whether it is cartoons or a
type of drama and action programming. After children have watched these television shows, they may
have interpreted the meaning into a negative behavior. It could influence them by becoming
aggressive, afraid of the world that surrounds them, or it may lead to confusion. When it is said that
children may become confused because their parents teach that violence is wrong. When they view
someone in a superhero position participating in violence, they may see that as it is all right for the
simple fact the good person does the action. According to the American Academy of Children and
Adolescent Psychiatry, the impact of TV violence may be immediately evident in the child s behavior
or may surface years later (AACAP, 2011).
While violent influences that impact children negatively, they may participate in different behavior.
On the contrary, children who watch education television shows were more likely to do better in
school. According to the University of Florida, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS)
department: What is notable about this research, however, is that it is the kind of television that

The Life Of A Beautiful Mantelpiece Sat An Unusual Bust Of...
Upon a beautiful mantelpiece sat an unusual bust of one Jane Austen. This bust was flanked by that of
Aristotle and Homer, leaving little space for anything else on the mantelpiece. Virtues for the earthly
realm and for the gain of the heavenly realm are ones that are in a continual dispute. MacIntyre try to
shed light on some the virtues that are taken up by Benjamin Franklin in his life to achieve earthly and
heavenly success. Malsbary adds onto this study of virtues by taking a close look at one virtue in
particular. Virtue has come through history, changing in some ways and staying the same in other
ways. Many people have seen virtues as the way to complete the life of man. Homer saw virtue as that
which fulfilled the social role the each man was born to take. Virtue was to do what one ought to do in
their stature of life. Aristotle then came and spoke of virtue as an end. The internal fulfillment of the
good of man has a nature end on earth. The Christian understanding of virtue was that which led to the
supernatural end as the goal for the good of man. Aristotle and the Christian understanding both
acknowledge the end of virtues is that of the good of man. Thus were the older forms of virtue. Next,
history comes upon the virtues of Benjamin Franklin. The man, who practiced the art of mind and
body, rhetoric and exercise, devised a different set of virtues that was to be used for the sake of utility
in earthly and heavenly success. He thought that the virtues needed

Integration Of Math And Science
Integration is a topic should be talked about because it is a topic that has multiple view points some
negative and some positives. No matter the viewpoints it is important to consider how integration
impacts the students. At the end of the day what students retain is what matters and retaining
information can happen in a variety of different ways. Integration provides a way to connect multiple
subjects and allows students to make connections. Integration can be difficult for teachers to teach
because the integration does not fit well, but the outcome of integration is beneficial. With the heavy
weight of assessments and standardized, tests teachers need to make sure that whatever they teach
needs to connect to standards and unites. Science has become a subject that has been put on the back
burner because tests like Maps and Paws testing do not assess science. There are many factors that
affect what and how teachers teach. Integration of math and science is one way to teach that allows
teachers cover more than one major subject. Integration allows teachers to teach science and math in
the same environment that allows students to flourish. The classroom is filled with a variety of
different objectives and lessons and as teachers we need to make sure we are using our time the best
ability. The big question of this research is whether integrating math and science is beneficial for
students in the classroom. Each lesson and activity needs a purpose in the classroom and

Censorship In Ancient China
Since early dynastic governments, China has monitored and controlled media to avoid the
undermining of its authority. Some reasons for this censorship are well known by Westerners, others
less so. In 221 B.C, Emperor Qin Shi Huang burned Confucian and Taoist books in order to rid the
dynasty of different political perspectives. He did this not only to maintain order and unity, but also
because he was impelled by other ancient Chinese values. Values that included a belief in state s rights
over human rights and the preservation of the dynasty at all costs. The more complex models of
censorship used in China today were first used in the Soviet Union from 1922 1991 and are rooted in
Marxist Leninist thought. Westerners would be wise to consider China s political history and deeply

For example, in Confucianism, the government is designed around a ridged hierarchy. For a Confucian
society to function properly, everyone must understand their rank and act accordingly. Citizens were
required to put blind faith in and pledge unwavering loyalty to their superiors and government. In the
same way, in an effort to improve the overall strength of society, the Communist Party of China (CPC)
ranks their interests above the interests of their citizens. Given this superior mindset, the government
feels duty bound and even righteous in their punishment of journalists whose writings may endangers
the party s continuation. Recently, French journalist, Ursula Gauthier, was forced to leave China after
writing an investigative piece about a Muslim region in western China. From a western perspective,
this banishment seems completely unjustified as openness to new and old knowledge is celebrated as
is dissent, investigation, and inquiry. But, considering the CPC s singular focus on their notion of
societal good, this decision is understandable, if not valid. In

The Thin Blue Line Directed By Errol Morris
What Is the Truth
Our need to believe what we want to believe is stronger than our need for the truth. I agree with this
quote based on personal experience. The movie, The Thin Blue Line directed by Errol Morris, is an
example of believing in what we want rather than the truth. Randall Adams a wrongly convicted man,
David Harris a criminal let off the hook, and people such as Marshall Touchton and Melvyn Carson
Bruder gives support to this belief. Randall Adams is the epitome of being in the wrong place at the
wrong time. Randall met David when he needed a ride to go get gas, he did not however imagine that
he would unintentionally be set up for murder. I kept telling them what happened and they didn t want
to believe me Randall said. David shot a police officer and killed him and then blamed it on Randall.
When eye witnesses described a man that looked like Randall and David knew he could get away with
the crime. To me none of the eye witnesses were very trustworthy, but when that s the only thing you
have to go on then you have to take what you can get. This relates to a recent tragedy that happened in
my family. My cousin, Ronnie, was accused of raping his step daughter Shyanne. No one believed
him except for the people that matter like the jury and the judge. Shyanne somehow got all of the
court to believe her based on her statement and with the help of her grandparents who believed her. I
do not think there was much evidence in the case but statements from the

Analysis Of Billy Budd By Herman Melville
The novella Billy Budd by Herman Melville is a 1924 sea story that has underlying allusions to Christ
and the bible as pointed out by many critics. Many have found that Billy s life resembles the plight of
Christ, as well as Adam, while Captain Vere is meant to stand as God, and Claggart is left as the role
of Satan. These underlying character molds ultimately contribute to the novella as a whole and explore
the dilemmas of their Bible counterparts. William Billy Budd has been described as a Christ like
character. His physical appearance remains to be a focus throughout, and his perfection is, ultimately,
what attracts all the sailors to him. Billy has an innocence to him that many on the ship have lost.
However, nothing is perfect as it seems, as Billy s flaws lead to his demise. Billy s stutter, as well as
his childlike mentality when it comes to aggravated situations show that while God can create
seemingly perfect beings, Satan and evil also have their say and play a crucial part. Billy s death in the
novella can be considered a mirrored image of Christ s death in the bible. Even their last words bear a
sense of forgiveness. Billy s final God Bless Captain Vere! , (page 86), is very similar to Christ s,
Father, forgive them for they know not what they do. Billy s final exclamation results in a lack of
wavering faith and, almost, forgiveness for Captain Vere s condemning William to death. Additionally,
as written in chapter 27, Melville compares Billy to

Impressions Gained of Pip s Character from Great Expectations
Pip is very much a child in the the first chapter. However, it is
Pip narrating it as an adult ( retrospective narrator). You know he is a child by his childish thoughts
and his rather odd imagination. He manages to come up with the childish conclusion that his father is
a
square, stout, dark man, with curly hair just by looking at his fathers tombstone. Also, that his mother
was freckled and sickly . It is quite bizarre that Pip has managed to conjour up that idea from a
tombstone. I think Dickens has done this to prove a childs nieve, yet wild imagination. I think Pip tries
to trace his parents or identify them this way just so he can feel placed in the ... Show more content on

An impression I also recieve from Pip is that he is very polite. He repeatedly uses the word sir when
speaking to Magwitch even when
Magwitch is threatening to cut Pips throat.
I also believe that the setting has a link to Pips feelings and the whole atmosphere. The setting is used
to make Pips visit to the graveyard more memorable . The setting s dark, flat wilderness also builds up
the tension and emotion for Magwitch s arrival. It also adds to Pip s fear and emotion. Magwitch was
a fearful man, all in coarse grey with a great iron on his leg . At this time Pip was undersized for his
years and not very strong . Pip is very afraid of Magwitch and he is only a young child who is already
going through the emotion of his parents and brothers deaths. You know Pip was very traumatised as
he sat trembling while Magwitch ate the bread ravenously and tried to keep himself from crying .
Pips fear of Magwitch grows when Magwitch says I ain t alone, as you may think I am . Dickens does
this to intimidate Pip even more and to make Pips experience with Magwitch as fearful and as
memorable as possible. Magwitch then starts to go into great detail about what the other man can
supposedly do. The description of the man kind of sounds like a ghost or horror story and Magwitch
refers to himself as an
Angel compared to the other man. You may think yourself comftable and safe, but that young man
will softly creep and creep his way

The Medicines Compacy
The Medicines Company What is the value of Angiomax to a hospital? Both Angiomax and Heparin
are widely used as an anticoagulant in acute coronary heart treatment. Since Angiomax is a potential
substitute for Heparin, Angiomax can be of great value to a hospital. Angiomax has three significant
advantages over Heparin. First, the effects of Angiomax are more accurate and dependable which
makes the product more predictable. Second, Angiomax doesn t require a 2 3 hour wait time for
results whereas Heparin does. Last but not least, Angiomax is safer for patients that are at risk for
bleeding. In all, it is effective in reducing complications or death in a hospital, which lead to a

Also, the company will want to educate the market and buyers. Angiomax should be seen as the

model of rescuing abandoned drugs? Just as anything, the company does face the risk of failure. The
fact that they are abandoned drugs should be a red flag as well. There is a reason and probably
multiple reasons why other companies abandoned these drugs. The list could include cost, profit,
safety, effectiveness, and much more. You have to wonder why this company thinks they can make a
difference in these abandoned drugs. Lets say Angiomax does become a success. Does this mean the
other drugs that they promote will be successful as well? Definitely not. Since the Medicines
Company doesn t have much history, they are more at risk with no accountability. Not to mention,
they don t have other drugs on the market that are or attaining FDA approval. I don t think that the
Medicines Company is ready to pursue this business model. Their focus should remain on Angiomax.
If Angiomax is a success, how much will this business model change? If Angiomax is a success, I
would expect the business model to change slightly. Their plan with rescuing abandoned drugs could

The Warming Of Global Warming Essay
It is largely known that the most significant issue facing the planet today is global warming. There is
no doubt it is one of the biggest environmental issues throughout time, though it is widely debated
among scientists and environmentalists what the main causes are. Global warming isn t a new issue, in
only 1989 the UK Prime Minister at the time warns that the increasing emissions of carbon dioxide
into the atmosphere are going to have a significant impact on the earth in the future (BBC News,
2013). The warming of the earth is caused by greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide that trap long
wave radiation in the atmosphere. This warming of the earth surface is referred to as the greenhouse
effect. Greenhouse gases are the gases, such as carbon dioxide, methane, and water vapour which
accumulate in the atmospheric layers prevent heat being radiated from the earth to escape. Without
greenhouse gases the earth would be considerably cooler but with increased human activities,
temperatures are rising to an unstable level (Arbogast, 2011).
Since the peak of the industrial revolution in 1800, the composition of the atmosphere has changed
significantly and continues to change with increasing advanced technology. Human populations have
also greatly increased, with the planet only being home to 700 million people, but due to industrial
developments the population size increased substantially to 1 billion in a very short amount of time.

Compare And Contrast The Story Of Creation And The Native...
There have been speculations about creation for years. Since the dawn of man, actually. Today we will
be discussing two of them. We will be comparing and contrasting the bible s story of creation and the
native american story of creation. First we will be contrasting them. These story start very differently
off the bat one with god making everything from nothing and in the other a woman made only the
earth and she made it from earth and that brings us to our greatest difference between the two stories.
In the bible story there is an all powerful god doing everything as for in the native american one it is
quite frankly a normal human making the earth and her family making everything that comes after.

conflicting with the claims the scientific community has proclaimed. The definitions of respectful

opportunity to educate the public to a degree, launching a section on the museum s web cite that

The Waco Siege Ended 22
The Waco siege ended 22 years ago in a colossal fire that ended up killed 76 people including two
pregnant women and over 20 children. The siege began on February 28, 1993, when the US Bureau of
Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) attempted to execute a search warrant at Mount Carmel Center

government suspected a radical religious leader David Koresh of stock piling firearms and
manufacturing drugs. The raid rose into an intense gun fight that last lasted two hours with the result

Jeremiah Johnson Essay examples
Jeremiah Johnson
In this movie, one may observe the different attitudes that Americans had towards Indians. The
Indians were those unconquered people to the west and the almighty brave, Mountain Man went there,
forgetting all the troubles he knew, and away from civilization. The mountain man is going in search
of adventure but as this adventure starts he finds that his survival skills are not helping him since he
cant even fish and as he is seen by an Indian, who watches him at his attempt to fish, he start
respecting them. The view that civilization had given him of the west changes and so does he.

Jeremiah is given a wife forcefully and as much as he does not want it he soon realizes he has

The real trouble with the tribes comes when white men intervene and intrude. The Indians expect that
these Americans respect their territory and whatever rituals and beliefs they may have but just as
Johnson was unaware of this when he first came so where the white men that came to save the

Henry Clay, John C. Calhoun, and the Warhawks decide to take action and pressured President James
Madison into asking congress to declare war against Great Britain (6).
With plans to go after the principal towns and commercial sites the British composed a three pronged

Major general Robert Ross went into Washington and burned down the white house and the beloved

The night of December 23 the British had nearly captured [Jackson s] artillery , Jackson had moved
deep into British areas getting closer to a victory, and after about two hours, the British had 46 men

British found this very amusing that we had so many untrained soldiers but, this just proves that when

characteristics previously mentioned.
The study done by Berk and MacDonald, policing the homeless , longitudinal intervention in which
the police officers tried to eliminate big concentrations of homeless in downtown Los Angeles. This
was done by eliminating big camps, giving fines, arresting individuals and simply by being present in
the area. The authors of the study found significant reduction on property and violent crime during the
time the intervention were happening. This intervention is considered successful because in focused in
a specific area, it was proactive, and very rigorous.
This specific intervention would be successful in the Portland area, at least to a degree. ... Show more

However, it is also important to acknowledge that the city should also spend time and resources fixing
the root causes of the issues, such as rent prices. Without working on root causes as well, the
intervention would not be as successful and simply displace the issues to other areas.
Another study done by Hartmann, Crawford and Burns(2013) discusses a similar topic. The authors
write about the issue and how often police officers have to deal with homeless individuals, specially in
big cities in the U.S. It is argued that this issue is increasing and the conflict with that is the lack of
studies and information of how police officers can deal with homeless and the communities where it is
more prevalent. It is important to acknowledge that there are many reasons to explain homelessness,

Literary Analysis Of Home Burial By Robert Frost
Terri Adams Kimbrell
Logan M. Oliver
ENGL 1312
24 September 2017 Home Burial
Robert Frost s poem Home Burial speaks of the tragedies in a couple s life. The theme of Home Burial
is centered at the death of couple s child. It seems that men did not express their feelings well during
this time. Home Burial demonstrates how one life tragedy can cause another to tragedy because of
emotions that are uncontrollable. The man and woman in this poem has lost their baby to due to death.
The mother is grieving and it seems she doesn t recover from this loss; parents who lose a child never
forget, but most people do find ways to cope and move on in life. The baby is buried in the family
burial site and can be seen from a window in the couple s home. Every day the mother goes to the
window looking at the family plot. Watching the place where her child s body is buried continues the
sadness she feels. But, another emotion is contained in this wife and mother and that is anger and
resentment at her husband. At first, the reason for her anger seems unknown. The reasoning starts to
show when it says she refused him any help, with the least stiffening of her neck and silence. (lines13
14) Their dialogue is cold. What is it what? /Just that I see. / You don t, she challenged. /Tell me what
it is. (lines18 19). In the husband s first couple of lines and his last one, his attitude toward his wife
seems insensitive. First he tells her he wants to know why she keeps looking at through the window;
then he tells her she must tell him. Even though he ends the last part with dear , doesn t make it feel
any less of a demand to the wife and at the end of the poem, he ask, Where do you mean to go? First
tell me that. / I ll follow and bring you back by force. I will! (115). In between his words he seems to
attempt to learn how to talk with his wife, and he ask her to help him, but she has resentment in her
way. It seems that the husband is stressed and anxious. The wife, on the other hand, is going through a
hard time emotionally and she needs support and compassion and is not getting these needs from her
husband. Twice during the poem she starts to leave the house, and twice the husband delays her, by

Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert
According to Jacques Ranciere, Emma s death was a verdict made by Gustave Flaubert because she
was unable to distinguish the practical mindedness and sentimentality of art, which was the lifestyle
she had chosen to live. Art means distinction to her, it means a certain lifestyle. Art has to permeate all
the aspects of existence (Ranciere 238 239). Emma had sought after the church and religion
throughout this novel in seeking spiritual enlightenment. However, the self integration of religious art
and literature in Emma s life had caused her to condone the benefits she could have received of
religion and of the church. With a mind that was practical in pursuit of its enthusiasms, that had loved
the church for its flowers, music for the words of its sentimental songs, and literature for its power to
stir the emotions, she rebelled against the mysteries of faith (Flaubert 36). Emma was unable to
discern that her sentimental view on religious arts substituted her spirituality; the inability to
separately define the two elements resulted in her downfall and death.
From the start of Emma s stay at the convent, she was wooed by the atmosphere of the church which
she found sentimental and thus began to walk the path to her own death. Instead of following the
mass, she would study...the pious illustrations with their sky blue borders, and she loved the sick lamb,
the Scared Heart pierced by sharp arrows, and poor Jesus, stumbling under the burden of his cross
(Flaubert 33).

Evaluation Of The School District
Chapter Four The research around student choice in selecting their courses and teachers, will allow the
school district to build upon the relationships already established. When students are placed into their
preferred teachers class, it will reduce the discipline, improve attendance, decrease the loss of
instructional time, and improve the climate and culture within the school. If the proposed plan from
the previous chapter is implemented, the school district will be able to improve the classroom
experiences for each student. Implementation of this plan, along with the data currently provided,
would directly impact the students and the teachers.
Adjustments
As the Central DeWitt School District implements the planned program, the committee may develop
ways to make adjustments within the system. The changes in the procedure may evolve or change the
focus for staff development, which data is considered the most useful, how to apply the data, and what
to do if the plan does not improve the process. This may require the committee to review what
information is being shared by the students, but also which information is not being shared. The
school district will need to determine which method will allow the collection of the most important
data, to make the best decisions possible. The online program may allow for short answer, ranking, or
simply a selection option. Students may not understand the requirements to teach specific courses and
this may require the committee to

Persuasive Essay On Healthy Lifestyle
The Healthy Lifestyle Everybody sees it everywhere. Lose 60 pounds in 6 weeks! Skinny is what s in!
Detox diet plan! It s a fair assumption to assume that the world, especially the United States, is
obsessed with being healthy. From celebrity workout programs to expensive diet systems that make
people lose weight, being fit is always what s mainly focused on in the media, daily life, and
nationwide. But with obsessions, come unhealthy actions and interests. Most people that anyone
knows is most likely upset with some aspect of themselves. Whether it be the way they look, how they
eat, or their lifestyle, obsession happens because of the nearly impossible body types and lifestyles
found on social media. On top of this, there are also restrictions and challenges that come with eating
a healthy diet that seem simply irradical to address, and unhealthier foods are more available than
ever. With these slowly arising issues, anyone would think the nation is making it hard for themselves
to be healthy. The society the nation lives in is making it progressively harder and harder to be healthy
because of the lifestyles that are easier to achieve. While most agree that being healthy and active is a
good thing, some feel that being healthy is too much of a chore, and would rather point fun at the
people who choose to have more beneficial lifestyles. Many people in the nation contradict their wants
to be in good health by harassing others who already have healthy

Anzac Day In Australia
The torment: remembering what you left behind and even worse; the prospect that you may never
return. Watching the eyes of your comrade s glaze over, while your mind explodes with horror.
Nobody can possibly question the fear, the blood, the heartache, and the terrors that haunted those
men for the rest of their lives. Sometimes, we just see all soldiers as one body, one personality; we
forget that each soldier, though fighting for the same cause, had his own moral and mental battles to
attend to. Maybe this is because it s simply too painful for us to comprehend, or maybe it is due to the
generic persona given to the soldiers by the Anzac legend. The Gallipoli campaign, though a terrible
tragedy, provided the then newly federated Australia with an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Some began to argue that the celebrations glorified war and allowed it to be justified. This was
rivalled by the opinion that the Gallipoli tragedies were a defining moment in Australian history, and
that Anzac day had the ability to unify the nation. Those who question the relevance of the Anzac
legend today do so in danger of being labelled as unpatriotic and disrespectful, when in reality, the
legend leaves a lot of deserving people unrepresented. Many
Australians can trace their ancestry back to a person involved in WW1, which means that families
tend to have a more emotional attachment to the topic, and they find comfort and pride in the Anzac
legend.
Although the legend doesn t really capture the diversity amongst the people who stepped up to answer
the call, nor their varying experiences, it gives depth to our nations history, and shows the raw
emotion and the kindred spirit of all the soldiers. There are so many untold stories; so many hidden
identities, and although we can never completely rectify that, it is crucial that we seek out the voices
that will never

Obesity During The Us Military
OBESITY IN THE US MILITARY The Department of Defense (DoD) is the largest employer in the
United States; there are over 1.3 million men and women on active duty and 826 thousand serving in
the National Guard and Reserve forces. Each year roughly 184,000 new military personnel must be
recruited to replace those who leave (nber.org, 2010). Recruitment has become more demanding for
the U.S. military in the past years. Most of the new recruits entering the ranks are young men and
women between the ages of 17 and 20 years old; they are America s sons and daughters. Over the past
decades, the continued increase of obesity cases in America has severely affected the supply of
prospective military recruits (Gagnon Stephens, 2015). The US military is not immune to this obesity
epidemic the rate of service members kicked out for weight issues continues to rise. Obesity has also
become the leading cause of new recruits being denied entry into military service. Is it possible that
the US will reach a point where it will be unable to sustain a proper fighting force in the future? Since
the US armed forces recruit from the general population, the increase in overweight/obesity in
children and adults has become a concern and a threat to national defense (Hruby et al,. 2015). This
apparent issue first came to public attention in 2002, in a report entitled Are U.S. Troops Too Fat to
Fight? The report revealed trends within overweight active duty and reserves as well as new recruits

Hunger In Third World Essay
Ed Asner once said, There are genuinely sufficient resources in the world to ensure that no one,
nowhere, at no time should go hungry . Hunger can be defined as a shortage of food; famine but
across the world it has more serious and genuine connotations. Hunger is painful, degrading, and
seemingly hopeless for all within its depths. Each hour more than three hundred children die of hunger
in third world countries. An epidemic is the rapid spread or increase in the occurrence of something .
The epidemic of hunger is one that costs the world seventy seven billon dollars in national income lost
each year.
Hunger is the result of soaring food prices, unreliable weather conditions, financial crisis, and political
unrest. In third world countries over one third of families are pulling their children out of school so
that they can provide for their family and hunger needs. No child should have to sacrifice their
education so that their family has access to food. In the world, malnutrition and hunger could be
prevented with ten billion dollars per year. The act of supporting those in need would prevent two
million deaths and sixty million cases of malnutrition each year.
The third world country of Malawi, located in the southeast portion of Africa is one of the countries
requiring the most financial and hunger support. Malawi has the second fastest growing population in
the world with a current population of 17,964,697. With a high birth rate, death rate, and woman

Criminal Psychopathy Essay
There has been a myriad of research into psychopathy as it relates to the ordinary, violent criminal, yet
little research exists into psychopathy of the non violent, corporate criminal. We will examine whether
there are truly differences in the psychopathy of these offenders in comparison to the average street
level criminal, or whether the distinctions purely driven by our own need to justify the actions of well
educated, seemingly respectable members of society. We will examine the nature of corporate crime,
the classification and identification of psychopathy, and how it applies to corporate criminals,
uncovering the differences between their psychopathy and that of the ordinary criminal.

comprising also of pressure and rationalization (Wells, 2011).
Cleckley noted that psychopaths had the ability to blend in, appearing sincere and charming, yet this

Healthy Sexual Development
Healthy sexual development begins at birth. It is a holistic process that involves the emotional,
cognitive, behavioral and physical experiences. The physical development aspect has played a pivotal
role in sex education discussion. As such, the discussion of sex education in this forum will focus on
the emotional, cognitive and behavioural sexual development and the responsibility parents and
teachers have in educating themselves to assist adolescents through this development. Emotional
development The Limbic system in the brain controls human emotions including sexual attraction. Mc
Neely Blanchard (2009) explains that the limbic system is the center of human emotions. The
amygdala is thought to link emotions with sensory inputs from the environment. Nerve impulses to the
amygdala trigger the emotions of rage, fear, aggression, reward, and sexual attraction. (p. 16).
Therefore, when adolescents experience sexual drive or attraction it first occurs in the limbic system
of the brain. Consequently, the adolescence stage is when they first ... Show more content on

Mc Neely Blanchard (2009) believe that Early developing adolescents are also more vulnerable to
making risky decisions because their physical and brain changes are happening on widely divergent
tracks. Their physical development may garner invitations and opportunities with older teens and
young adults (parties, drinking, etc.) just as changes in the brain trigger the desire for thrill seeking
and risk taking. However, their brains are not fully developed, so the urge to experiment is not
balanced by the capacity to make sound judgments (p.10). Even though an adolescent maybe
physically developed and feel that he is mature enough to make sound decisions, his brain activities
does not allow him to understand the full perspective on a situation, as in the case of engaging in
sexual activities.

said that she believes that children generally do not care what you think until they know and think that
you care about them. This meaning that she is working to show them that she cares so in turn they will
care about themselves and the future too. She does what every counselor does and that instills hope by
showing you care. I like her belief or theory on this. I want to be able to show children that I care

The Outbreak Of The Ebola Virus
There is no doubt that some of the most feared organisms on this planet are invisible to the human
eye. People are both fearful and fascinated by how such tiny microorganisms, such as viruses, can
cause the decimation of whole populations of both humans and various animals. At the current
moment, the worst outbreak of the Ebola virus that has ever happened is occurring in West Africa.
This disease is so frightening because it can quickly result in a terrible, agonizing death of any
unfortunate soul that has become infected. This specific virus can quite literally cause the liquefaction
of the organs within the human body. As Ebola takes hold of many villages and towns in West Africa,
surrounding countries are scrambling to send supplies and aid workers in an attempt to stop the spread
of such a lethal virus. The Ebola virus first made its way to the United States this past October,
sending many U.S. citizens in to a state of hysteria out of fear that an Ebola epidemic will occur on
American soil. As the death toll of the recent outbreak keeps rising steadily, only time will tell if the
virus can be stopped in its track before spreading across the globe to infect inhabitants in all corners of
the world.
Ebola belongs to the virus family Filoviridae. There are three genera in this family, which are the
Marburgvirus, Cuevavirus, and Ebolavirus (WHO, 2014). Filoviruses are encased within a lipoprotein

Racial Divides in the Last of the Mohicans
Samantha Sandoval
7 February 2012
Racial Divides in The Last of the Mohicans Throughout James Fennimore Cooper s novel The Last of
the Mohicans a common theme of interracial friendship and love and the difficulty it takes to
overcome such an obstacle, is shown strongly in the work. In the novel Cooper shows how the
America people of European decent treat those that are native, by showing how negatively they treat
the Native Americans. Chingachgook and Hawkeye have a friendship that is genuine and deep,
bypassing the normal relationship between that of a white man and a Mohican Indian. Interracial love
and romantic relationships are condemned in The Last of the Mohicans, for example when, Cora, the
older daughter of Munro, is approached ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hawkeye and Chingachgook have a stark, stripped human relationship of two men, deeper then the
deeps of sex. (Burt 1). Cooper shows just how deep of a friendship these two men can have looking
past all of the racial boundaries that are in position from the surrounding society. Despite the way
interracial relations between the civilized and the savage were looked down upon Hawkeye and
Chingachgook s relationship continues without any such interference. Cooper makes the relationship
important especially in the times of need, during the battle scenes and while they complete acts that
make it clear that Hawkeye and his group are the protagonists of the story. This is a strong and deep
connection between the two men making a statement for the time period, in which the story is set in.
The constant reoccurrence of Hawkeye and Chingachgook s relationship as friends in the Cooper s
novel shows the power of this symbol. The two men constantly look out for one another s well being,
Chingachgook gives Hawkeye information and reassures him his ear shall drink no lie. (Cooper 32)
simply because they are friends. As the book continues the two men and the bond that is between them
is proven to be deeper then the expectation of the average American community of the time. Through
their dangerous journey they stumble upon much conflict, yet instead of burdening their friendship, it
only builds their relationship as friends. Without one another

If I Were A Colonist Analysis
I believe the act that angered the colonists the most was the Boston Port Act. The Boston Port act
made sure that nothing would come in and out of the Boston waters. So in perspective, the people of
Boston wouldn t be able to trade with any other place because they wouldn t be able to get the goods
from anywhere because that would require traveling by ship which they couldn t do because the
waters were closed off. If i was a colonist then I would be angry about that. In fact it would have
caused people to move to other places so that they could actually buy goods from other places in the
world. Also for the reason that they also couldn t move anywhere else outside of America. If you were
Boston you would have been required to move somewhere

5. Process of network formation
Inter organizational network, as a distinct from personal network of entrepreneurs have been discussed
by O donell (2001). The factors those are responsible for the process of Inter organizational network
have been divided into Reciprocity, Legitimacy, Stability and Resources, according to Kimberly
(2005).
i) Among the four factors, Reciprocity is considered as necessary condition. The other three factors are
facilitators in the network formation process. The might be present at the time of network formation or
they can be developed in the early stages of network formation.
The main objective of the Inter organizational network is the accomplishment of collective goals for
the participating organizations. The goals require inputs or contributions from other organizations, as
no single organization is capable of achieving the goals on its own. The organizations, connected
through network, derive benefits from other organizations structures. The benefit derived from joining
an organization is must also be greater than the cost involved. Otherwise, a single organization does
not derive any incentive from joining inter organization network, choosing over individual goals and
objectives.
ii) Legitimacy is the first of the three facilitating factors. It is essential to

Technology Is Destroying The Music Industry
Every adult, over the age of 18, has seen the changes the music industry has gone through since the
introduction of the internet, digital downloading, and online streaming. We have heard that Tapes,
CDs, MP3s, and the internet were going to destroy the industry. Have they destroyed it yet? According
to Ian Morris, Author of the article, Technology is Destroying the Music Industry, Which is Great for
the Next Taylor Swift , music is changing but the only thing the internet is destroying are the record
labels. Which he explains as a good thing for the industry. Morris talks about the roles the record label
plays and why it s on the way out. The biggest change in music since the internet was the development
of Napster. 2014 marked fifteen years after the rise and fall of this online file sharing platform. The
article 15 years After Napster: How the Music Service Changed the Industry , by Alex Suskind, talks
about the failed program and why the biggest change in the music industry made record labels scared.
So what does this all mean and why should people care? Well for starters when it comes to musicians
and record labels, the company makes most of the money, as well as most of the decisions. Music was
never meant to be something that was used for money. Music is made enjoyment and should be shared
without extensive rules and regulations. Music existed before man and will exist after. It is not
something that should be governed by big companies looking to make money. The

Ashurbanipal Evil
The ancient Assyrian ruler, Ashurbanipal also known as the Assurbanipal, was the last of the Great
Kings of the Assyria Empire, and reigned between 668 627 BCE. He was the son of the previous ruler
of the Neo Assyrian Empire, King Esarhaddon, and was named the god Ashur is creator of an heir . In
his lifetime the man achieved various things, such as, the greatest territorial expansion of the Assyrian
Empire, which included the expansion and invasion of Persia, Syrua, Egypt, and Babylonia Although,
Egypt was lost as a result of revolt. He was marked as a popular king, who ruled over his natural born
citizens true and just, but outside of his empire and in the countries that the man invaded,
Ashurbanipal was seen as a pernicous villain. An example of his cruelty towards those that lost in
previous battles with him, would be a scene depicting a defeated king with a dog chain sized through
his jawbone, and being forced to live inside of a kennal after his capture and most likely till the time
of his death. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

difficult to care for and with his death, it fell apart in the end. As it would appear, the man was level
headed and fair to those that the man believed were his equals, but to those that ruled in forgien
empires that were later conquered, the man was considered a horrid villain. Esarhaddon employed the
same tactics as his father and soon so would his son, Ashurbanipal as the last great king of the

Power Of Personal Production By 3d Printing
Power of Personal Production Imagine that you could design a three dimensional object as quickly as
it would take to decide on material and computer design: this idea is what created the technology of
3D printing. From the conception of 3D printing in 1984, to the first stem cell transplant, 3D printing
has evolved from a sci fi like idea to a realistic addition in individual consumer lifestyles. Now instead
of relying on large manufactures to produce a special or specific good, the consumer has the power of
this production in their own home, creating individuality through cost productive methods of
production. When you produce something yourself instead of purchasing it, that changes your
relationship to it, says Chelsea Schelly, assistant professor of social sciences, of 3D printing. You are
empowered by it. This empowerment is about to spur on a new industrial revolution in the
manufacturing and distribution cycle. In essence, this printing revolution will encourage the individual
to create, innovate, and fabricate their own personal design. In order to obtain a clear understanding of
the increasingly popular scientific technology of 3D printing, it is necessary to research the history,
current discoveries, and applications; however, maybe the most important topics to be discussed are
the future directions, possible hazards, and intentions of this industry.
Although printing has been around for centuries, the beginnings of three dimensional printing can be

Outsourcing Research Paper
Throughout my paper, my point is to portray the effect of the outsourcing of American occupations
abroad. There are two strong arguments with outsourcing: one that accepts the handiness and profits of
the outsourcing and the other that energetically restricts outsourcing and focus on its negatives.
Government organizations accept that outsourcing may decrease the expense of the assembling of
items and give administrations less expensive cost, and others feel that outsourcing has triggered huge
layoffs and loss of jobs. America needs to cease outsourcing due to the negative effects it has on our
country. Outsourcing takes occupations away from Americans, causes considerably more economic
issues, and can lessen the quality of materials. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The driving components for outsourcing are clear: lesser expenses all the way around. A machine
software engineer in India makes $5,880 to $11,000, while an American machine software engineer
wins in the middle of $60,000 and $80,000. American organizations stand to spare measures of cash
by outsourcing. Today, gauges of employment misfortune in the United States propose that in the last
ten years, between 400,000 to 500,000 data engineering preparing jobs have been outsourced. While
this speaks to a moderately little parcel of the United States work power of around 130 million
laborers (Tyson), concerns over the loss of profoundly talented employees and expectations that the
outsourcing pattern will keep on growing have made outsourcing an imperative and questionable
subject. Unfortunately, the wave of outsourcing is going to continue in the United States, and it is only
going to get worse. A UC Berkeley s Haas School of Business study noted that near 11 percent of all
occupations in the United States are helpless to outsourcing. Further, gauges demonstrate that
outsourcing is going to be an ongoing Phenom, as Forrester Research evaluates that by 2015, the
United States will lose 3.3 million jobs to outsourcing. Different assessments are higher, as
Researchers Ashok Deo Bardhan and

  • 3. The Maurya Empire And The Mughal Empire The two most expansive empires to exist on the subcontinent of India are the Maurya Empire which dominated ancient India from 322 BCE to 187 BCE and the Mughal Empire which had control from 1526 to 1857 until the British Raj took over. Although these empires existed almost two thousand years apart, they have a great deal in common including what made them such successful and far reaching political forces, and maintain differences like what succeeded them after their downfalls. The Mauryan Empire is considered to be one of the most successful of its time. At its zenith it spanned nearly 2 million square miles and boasted a population of about 60 million, making it the largest Indian empire in history and one of the most populated empires of Antiquity. This was not unlike the Mughal Empire, whose reach was upwards of 1.5 million square miles with a population of over 158 million in 1700. When viewed on a map, the kingdoms are nearly identical in geographical span, occupying the vast majority of what is now India and Afghanistan. While both dynasties expanded their empires, the Mauryan dynasty s expansion was far more significant than that of the Mughal which is better known for unifying kingdoms within the Indian subcontinent after taking control from the Delhi Sultanate. The most famed ruler of the Maurya Empire was Ashoka who took over the empire in 272 BCE after the death of his father, Bindusara. Theory Y assumes people are willing to work, capable of self control, thrive when given responsibility and the opportunity to self direct. Les Mills managers display strong Theory Y perspectives and this helps to empower employee s by promoting continual staff development through a variety of avenues. The Little Yellow Book (LYB) focuses on the values the company follows and the ways in which it wishes to do business. The book states the purpose of Les Mills ( To improve the lives of New Zealanders ) and gives direction to the staff, educating them on 5 key business strategies. The book also outlines the way in which employees are expected to behave and the things Les Mills expects of them. The LYB is integral to empowering employees by endowing them with responsibilities and expectations the company has for them. By doing this they are offering employees opportunities for building self esteem and satisfying ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Essay Negative Effects of Television on Children Television is a big part of today s society. Everybody watches television, including the children. There is a potential problem with letting children watch television. Ask this question, would someone let their own child watch some of the programming that they watch, too? Some of these programs are intended for the adult generation, not young children. Violence has a major role in television these days. Letting children watch this violence could corrupt their minds and eventually lead to bad behavior. There needs to be a limitation on the types of television programming that parents let their children watch, because violence in television can negatively affect children. Throughout the years, violence has become more common in television ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If parents restrict their children in only watching educational shows rather than violence, the influence of children would rather be more useful and not corrupted. Children view violence in different ways when they watch it on television, whether it is cartoons or a type of drama and action programming. After children have watched these television shows, they may have interpreted the meaning into a negative behavior. It could influence them by becoming aggressive, afraid of the world that surrounds them, or it may lead to confusion. When it is said that children may become confused because their parents teach that violence is wrong. When they view someone in a superhero position participating in violence, they may see that as it is all right for the simple fact the good person does the action. According to the American Academy of Children and Adolescent Psychiatry, the impact of TV violence may be immediately evident in the child s behavior or may surface years later (AACAP, 2011). While violent influences that impact children negatively, they may participate in different behavior. On the contrary, children who watch education television shows were more likely to do better in school. This bust was flanked by that of Aristotle and Homer, leaving little space for anything else on the mantelpiece. Virtues for the earthly realm and for the gain of the heavenly realm are ones that are in a continual dispute. MacIntyre try to shed light on some the virtues that are taken up by Benjamin Franklin in his life to achieve earthly and heavenly success. Malsbary adds onto this study of virtues by taking a close look at one virtue in particular. Virtue has come through history, changing in some ways and staying the same in other ways. Many people have seen virtues as the way to complete the life of man. Homer saw virtue as that which fulfilled the social role the each man was born to take. Virtue was to do what one ought to do in their stature of life. Aristotle then came and spoke of virtue as an end. The internal fulfillment of the good of man has a nature end on earth. The Christian understanding of virtue was that which led to the supernatural end as the goal for the good of man. Aristotle and the Christian understanding both acknowledge the end of virtues is that of the good of man. Thus were the older forms of virtue. Next, history comes upon the virtues of Benjamin Franklin. The man, who practiced the art of mind and body, rhetoric and exercise, devised a different set of virtues that was to be used for the sake of utility in earthly and heavenly success. Integration provides a way to connect multiple subjects and allows students to make connections. • 8. Censorship In Ancient China Since early dynastic governments, China has monitored and controlled media to avoid the undermining of its authority. Some reasons for this censorship are well known by Westerners, others less so. In 221 B.C, Emperor Qin Shi Huang burned Confucian and Taoist books in order to rid the dynasty of different political perspectives. He did this not only to maintain order and unity, but also because he was impelled by other ancient Chinese values. Values that included a belief in state s rights over human rights and the preservation of the dynasty at all costs. The more complex models of censorship used in China today were first used in the Soviet Union from 1922 1991 and are rooted in Marxist Leninist thought. • 9. The Thin Blue Line Directed By Errol Morris What Is the Truth Our need to believe what we want to believe is stronger than our need for the truth. I agree with this quote based on personal experience. The movie, The Thin Blue Line directed by Errol Morris, is an example of believing in what we want rather than the truth. Randall Adams a wrongly convicted man, David Harris a criminal let off the hook, and people such as Marshall Touchton and Melvyn Carson Bruder gives support to this belief. Randall Adams is the epitome of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Randall met David when he needed a ride to go get gas, he did not however imagine that he would unintentionally be set up for murder. I kept telling them what happened and they didn t want to believe me Randall said. David shot a police officer and killed him and then blamed it on Randall. When eye witnesses described a man that looked like Randall and David knew he could get away with the crime. To me none of the eye witnesses were very trustworthy, but when that s the only thing you have to go on then you have to take what you can get. This relates to a recent tragedy that happened in my family. My cousin, Ronnie, was accused of raping his step daughter Shyanne. No one believed him except for the people that matter like the jury and the judge. • 11. Analysis Of Billy Budd By Herman Melville The novella Billy Budd by Herman Melville is a 1924 sea story that has underlying allusions to Christ and the bible as pointed out by many critics. Many have found that Billy s life resembles the plight of Christ, as well as Adam, while Captain Vere is meant to stand as God, and Claggart is left as the role of Satan. These underlying character molds ultimately contribute to the novella as a whole and explore the dilemmas of their Bible counterparts. William Billy Budd has been described as a Christ like character. His physical appearance remains to be a focus throughout, and his perfection is, ultimately, what attracts all the sailors to him. Billy has an innocence to him that many on the ship have lost. However, nothing is perfect as it seems, as Billy s flaws lead to his demise. Billy s stutter, as well as his childlike mentality when it comes to aggravated situations show that while God can create seemingly perfect beings, Satan and evil also have their say and play a crucial part. Billy s death in the novella can be considered a mirrored image of Christ s death in the bible. Even their last words bear a sense of forgiveness. Billy s final God Bless Captain Vere! , (page 86), is very similar to Christ s, Father, forgive them for they know not what they do. Billy s final exclamation results in a lack of wavering faith and, almost, forgiveness for Captain Vere s condemning William to death. Additionally, as written in chapter 27, Melville compares Billy to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, it is Pip narrating it as an adult ( retrospective narrator). You know he is a child by his childish thoughts and his rather odd imagination. He manages to come up with the childish conclusion that his father is a square, stout, dark man, with curly hair just by looking at his fathers tombstone. Also, that his mother was freckled and sickly . It is quite bizarre that Pip has managed to conjour up that idea from a tombstone. The setting is used to make Pips visit to the graveyard more memorable . The setting s dark, flat wilderness also builds up the tension and emotion for Magwitch s arrival. It also adds to Pip s fear and emotion. Magwitch was a fearful man, all in coarse grey with a great iron on his leg . At this time Pip was undersized for his years and not very strong . Pip is very afraid of Magwitch and he is only a young child who is already going through the emotion of his parents and brothers deaths. You know Pip was very traumatised as he sat trembling while Magwitch ate the bread ravenously and tried to keep himself from crying . Pips fear of Magwitch grows when Magwitch says I ain t alone, as you may think I am . Dickens does this to intimidate Pip even more and to make Pips experience with Magwitch as fearful and as memorable as possible. Magwitch then starts to go into great detail about what the other man can supposedly do. The description of the man kind of sounds like a ghost or horror story and Magwitch refers to himself as an Angel compared to the other man. There is no doubt it is one of the biggest environmental issues throughout time, though it is widely debated among scientists and environmentalists what the main causes are. Global warming isn t a new issue, in only 1989 the UK Prime Minister at the time warns that the increasing emissions of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere are going to have a significant impact on the earth in the future (BBC News, 2013). The warming of the earth is caused by greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide that trap long wave radiation in the atmosphere. This warming of the earth surface is referred to as the greenhouse effect. Greenhouse gases are the gases, such as carbon dioxide, methane, and water vapour which accumulate in the atmospheric layers prevent heat being radiated from the earth to escape. Without greenhouse gases the earth would be considerably cooler but with increased human activities, temperatures are rising to an unstable level (Arbogast, 2011). Since the peak of the industrial revolution in 1800, the composition of the atmosphere has changed significantly and continues to change with increasing advanced technology. Oliver ENGL 1312 24 September 2017 Home Burial Robert Frost s poem Home Burial speaks of the tragedies in a couple s life. The theme of Home Burial is centered at the death of couple s child. It seems that men did not express their feelings well during this time. Home Burial demonstrates how one life tragedy can cause another to tragedy because of emotions that are uncontrollable. The man and woman in this poem has lost their baby to due to death. The mother is grieving and it seems she doesn t recover from this loss; parents who lose a child never forget, but most people do find ways to cope and move on in life. The baby is buried in the family burial site and can be seen from a window in the couple s home. Every day the mother goes to the window looking at the family plot. Watching the place where her child s body is buried continues the sadness she feels. But, another emotion is contained in this wife and mother and that is anger and resentment at her husband. At first, the reason for her anger seems unknown. The reasoning starts to show when it says she refused him any help, with the least stiffening of her neck and silence. (lines13 14) Their dialogue is cold. What is it what? /Just that I see. / You don t, she challenged. /Tell me what it is. (lines18 19). In the husband s first couple of lines and his last one, his attitude toward his wife seems insensitive. First he tells her he wants to know why she keeps looking at through the window; then he tells her she must tell him. Even though he ends the last part with dear , doesn t make it feel any less of a demand to the wife and at the end of the poem, he ask, Where do you mean to go? First tell me that. / I ll follow and bring you back by force. I will! (115). In between his words he seems to attempt to learn how to talk with his wife, and he ask her to help him, but she has resentment in her way. It seems that the husband is stressed and anxious. • 24. Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert According to Jacques Ranciere, Emma s death was a verdict made by Gustave Flaubert because she was unable to distinguish the practical mindedness and sentimentality of art, which was the lifestyle she had chosen to live. Art means distinction to her, it means a certain lifestyle. Art has to permeate all the aspects of existence (Ranciere 238 239). Emma had sought after the church and religion throughout this novel in seeking spiritual enlightenment. However, the self integration of religious art and literature in Emma s life had caused her to condone the benefits she could have received of religion and of the church. With a mind that was practical in pursuit of its enthusiasms, that had loved the church for its flowers, music for the words of its sentimental songs, and literature for its power to stir the emotions, she rebelled against the mysteries of faith (Flaubert 36). Emma was unable to discern that her sentimental view on religious arts substituted her spirituality; the inability to separately define the two elements resulted in her downfall and death. From the start of Emma s stay at the convent, she was wooed by the atmosphere of the church which she found sentimental and thus began to walk the path to her own death. Adjustments As the Central DeWitt School District implements the planned program, the committee may develop ways to make adjustments within the system. The changes in the procedure may evolve or change the focus for staff development, which data is considered the most useful, how to apply the data, and what to do if the plan does not improve the process. This may require the committee to review what information is being shared by the students, but also which information is not being shared. • 26. Persuasive Essay On Healthy Lifestyle The Healthy Lifestyle Everybody sees it everywhere. Lose 60 pounds in 6 weeks! Skinny is what s in! Detox diet plan! It s a fair assumption to assume that the world, especially the United States, is obsessed with being healthy. From celebrity workout programs to expensive diet systems that make people lose weight, being fit is always what s mainly focused on in the media, daily life, and nationwide. But with obsessions, come unhealthy actions and interests. Most people that anyone knows is most likely upset with some aspect of themselves. Whether it be the way they look, how they eat, or their lifestyle, obsession happens because of the nearly impossible body types and lifestyles found on social media. On top of this, there are also restrictions and challenges that come with eating a healthy diet that seem simply irradical to address, and unhealthier foods are more available than ever. With these slowly arising issues, anyone would think the nation is making it hard for themselves to be healthy. The society the nation lives in is making it progressively harder and harder to be healthy because of the lifestyles that are easier to achieve. While most agree that being healthy and active is a good thing, some feel that being healthy is too much of a chore, and would rather point fun at the people who choose to have more beneficial lifestyles. Many people in the nation contradict their wants to be in good health by harassing others who already have healthy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Watching the eyes of your comrade s glaze over, while your mind explodes with horror. Nobody can possibly question the fear, the blood, the heartache, and the terrors that haunted those men for the rest of their lives. Sometimes, we just see all soldiers as one body, one personality; we forget that each soldier, though fighting for the same cause, had his own moral and mental battles to attend to. Maybe this is because it s simply too painful for us to comprehend, or maybe it is due to the generic persona given to the soldiers by the Anzac legend. The Gallipoli campaign, though a terrible tragedy, provided the then newly federated Australia with an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some began to argue that the celebrations glorified war and allowed it to be justified. This was rivalled by the opinion that the Gallipoli tragedies were a defining moment in Australian history, and that Anzac day had the ability to unify the nation. Those who question the relevance of the Anzac legend today do so in danger of being labelled as unpatriotic and disrespectful, when in reality, the legend leaves a lot of deserving people unrepresented. Many Australians can trace their ancestry back to a person involved in WW1, which means that families tend to have a more emotional attachment to the topic, and they find comfort and pride in the Anzac legend. Although the legend doesn t really capture the diversity amongst the people who stepped up to answer the call, nor their varying experiences, it gives depth to our nations history, and shows the raw emotion and the kindred spirit of all the soldiers. Obesity During The Us Military OBESITY IN THE US MILITARY The Department of Defense (DoD) is the largest employer in the United States; there are over 1.3 million men and women on active duty and 826 thousand serving in the National Guard and Reserve forces. Each year roughly 184,000 new military personnel must be recruited to replace those who leave (nber.org, 2010). Recruitment has become more demanding for the U.S. military in the past years. Most of the new recruits entering the ranks are young men and women between the ages of 17 and 20 years old; they are America s sons and daughters. Over the past decades, the continued increase of obesity cases in America has severely affected the supply of prospective military recruits (Gagnon Stephens, 2015). The US military is not immune to this obesity epidemic the rate of service members kicked out for weight issues continues to rise. Obesity has also become the leading cause of new recruits being denied entry into military service. Is it possible that the US will reach a point where it will be unable to sustain a proper fighting force in the future? Since the US armed forces recruit from the general population, the increase in overweight/obesity in children and adults has become a concern and a threat to national defense (Hruby et al,. 2015). Hunger can be defined as a shortage of food; famine but across the world it has more serious and genuine connotations. Hunger is painful, degrading, and seemingly hopeless for all within its depths. Each hour more than three hundred children die of hunger in third world countries. An epidemic is the rapid spread or increase in the occurrence of something . The epidemic of hunger is one that costs the world seventy seven billon dollars in national income lost each year. Hunger is the result of soaring food prices, unreliable weather conditions, financial crisis, and political unrest. In third world countries over one third of families are pulling their children out of school so that they can provide for their family and hunger needs. No child should have to sacrifice their education so that their family has access to food. In the world, malnutrition and hunger could be prevented with ten billion dollars per year. The act of supporting those in need would prevent two million deaths and sixty million cases of malnutrition each year. According to Ian Morris, Author of the article, Technology is Destroying the Music Industry, Which is Great for the Next Taylor Swift , music is changing but the only thing the internet is destroying are the record labels. Which he explains as a good thing for the industry. Morris talks about the roles the record label plays and why it s on the way out. The biggest change in music since the internet was the development of Napster. 2014 marked fifteen years after the rise and fall of this online file sharing platform. The article 15 years After Napster: How the Music Service Changed the Industry , by Alex Suskind, talks about the failed program and why the biggest change in the music industry made record labels scared. So what does this all mean and why should people care? Well for starters when it comes to musicians and record labels, the company makes most of the money, as well as most of the decisions. Music was never meant to be something that was used for money. Music is made enjoyment and should be shared without extensive rules and regulations. Music existed before man and will exist after. It is not something that should be governed by big companies looking to make money. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He was marked as a popular king, who ruled over his natural born citizens true and just, but outside of his empire and in the countries that the man invaded, Ashurbanipal was seen as a pernicous villain. • 50. Power Of Personal Production By 3d Printing Power of Personal Production Imagine that you could design a three dimensional object as quickly as it would take to decide on material and computer design: this idea is what created the technology of 3D printing. From the conception of 3D printing in 1984, to the first stem cell transplant, 3D printing has evolved from a sci fi like idea to a realistic addition in individual consumer lifestyles. Now instead of relying on large manufactures to produce a special or specific good, the consumer has the power of this production in their own home, creating individuality through cost productive methods of production. When you produce something yourself instead of purchasing it, that changes your relationship to it, says Chelsea Schelly, assistant professor of social sciences, of 3D printing. You are empowered by it. This empowerment is about to spur on a new industrial revolution in the manufacturing and distribution cycle. In essence, this printing revolution will encourage the individual to create, innovate, and fabricate their own personal design. In order to obtain a clear understanding of the increasingly popular scientific technology of 3D printing, it is necessary to research the history, current discoveries, and applications; however, maybe the most important topics to be discussed are the future directions, possible hazards, and intentions of this industry. Although printing has been around for centuries, the beginnings of three dimensional printing can be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 51. Outsourcing Research Paper Throughout my paper, my point is to portray the effect of the outsourcing of American occupations abroad. There are two strong arguments with outsourcing: one that accepts the handiness and profits of the outsourcing and the other that energetically restricts outsourcing and focus on its negatives. Government organizations accept that outsourcing may decrease the expense of the assembling of items and give administrations less expensive cost, and others feel that outsourcing has triggered huge layoffs and loss of jobs. America needs to cease outsourcing due to the negative effects it has on our country. Outsourcing takes occupations away from Americans, causes considerably more economic issues, and can lessen the quality of materials. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The driving components for outsourcing are clear: lesser expenses all the way around. A machine software engineer in India makes $5,880 to $11,000, while an American machine software engineer wins in the middle of $60,000 and $80,000. American organizations stand to spare measures of cash by outsourcing. Today, gauges of employment misfortune in the United States propose that in the last ten years, between 400,000 to 500,000 data engineering preparing jobs have been outsourced. While this speaks to a moderately little parcel of the United States work power of around 130 million laborers (Tyson), concerns over the loss of profoundly talented employees and expectations that the outsourcing pattern will keep on growing have made outsourcing an imperative and questionable subject. Unfortunately, the wave of outsourcing is going to continue in the United States, and it is only going to get worse. A UC Berkeley s Haas School of Business study noted that near 11 percent of all occupations in the United States are helpless to outsourcing. Further, gauges demonstrate that outsourcing is going to be an ongoing Phenom, as Forrester Research evaluates that by 2015, the United States will lose 3.3 million jobs to outsourcing. Different assessments are higher, as Researchers Ashok Deo Bardhan and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
