Biblical Allusions in The Magician s Nephew
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician s Nephew is very interesting story wise. It has a lot of good
morals and allegories teaching integrity, self control and wisdom and is mostly composed of biblical
allusions.
A biblical allusion is to use a reference from the bible to communicate a hidden meaning. You could
compare your best friend to Jonathan, King David s loyal friend in the books of Samuel. You could
also illustrate faith through the strength of the disciples as they remained faithful even in persecution.
Many biblical allusions can be found here in The Magician s Nephew .
The problems of the main characters, Digory and Polly, started when they entered the world of Charn.
Out of curiosity, Digory rang a bell that had awoken ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He created music and sang as he continued to orchestrate the forming of this new and clean world.
This is similar to the description in the Genesis 1 where the creation of our world is narrated.
Aslan had also chosen specific animals to have the power of speech. Those who had this free will to
speak had been given the land that was created to populate. This is closely related to the creation of
man and woman and the freedom of speech for humanity. As long as they did not go back to their old
ways as dumb animals, the speaking animals were given authority by Aslan to govern the animals who
could not talk. Lewis gives us a hint that humans are dumb in nature, and that we would be nothing
without God, for He is the only one who can raise us up from the lowly beginning from whence we
had come from. Here is a quote from the book showing the authority of Aslan, just as God has
authority over us as His creation.
Creatures, I give you yourselves, said the strong, happy voice of Aslan. I give to you forever this land
of Narnia. I give you the woods, the fruits, the rivers. I give you the stars and I give you myself. The
Dumb Beasts whom I have not chosen are yours also. Treat them gently and cherish them but do not
go back to their ways lest you cease to be Talking Beasts. For out of them you were taken and into
them you can return. Do not so. Aslan

Cryptography Is Art Of Secret Writing
1.
The term cryptography develops from a Greek word which implies hidden or secret writing.
Cryptography is art of secret writing. The primary service provided by cryptography is capability to
send information between two participants in an effective way that halts others from reading it. This
type of cryptography provides other services namely,
integrity checking→ reassuring the recipient regarding a new message in which the message doesn t
seem to be altered viewing that it was actually given by a legal source.
Authentication →verifying someone s (or something s) identity.
Messages within its original form is named plain text or clear text. The hidden info is generally known
as cipher text. The procedure for producing cipher text from plain text is named encryption. The
reverse of encryption is known as decryption. While cryptographers invent clever secret codes, crypt
analysts plan to break these codes. Both these disciplines constantly make sure to keep in advance of
one another. Ultimately, the successes of the cryptographers rests on the cryptography systems are
likely to involve both an algorithm as well as a secret value. Here the secret value is called as key. The
purpose for having a key alongside an algorithm is the idea that it can be problematic to keep devising
new algorithms which allows reversible scrambling of data, and it will be hard to quickly explain a
newly devised algorithm with the person you d be willing to start communicating securely.

Whole Food Nadler-Tushmand CA Mod4
The inputs and outputs within an organization are extremely important when determining if their
strategic goals and desired outcomes are being or will be achieved. This paper will continue to
examine Whole Foods through the Nadler Tushman Congruence Model; zeroing in on performance as
it relates to organization goals and outcomes based on the congruency of it outputs across the models
three levels.
Whole Foods continues with the Nadler Tushman Congruence Model this time examining
organizational outputs. In addition, the following will discuss the way in which the company identifies
its groups, individual functions, and the interactions among different organizational outputs.

As mentioned earlier, financial managers within the organization such as accountants or stakeholders
could be categorized into a separate group. Whole Foods has in the past analyzed its outputs from this
group to determine its overall financial success and sustainability of company.
In 2008, Whole Foods executed the conservative growth and business strategy financial changes and
to determine success of these inputs, the financial outputs were analyzed. According to financial
output, by lowering sales volumes in turn it delivered a 16% increase in adjusted EBITDA* on a 1%
increase in sales. (Whole Foods) Financial outputs are possibly one of the most telling categories as to
a company s overall financial staying power.
Key Individual Functions
This organization consists of individuals and functions which are utilized in strategic decisions for
strategic output. An example, the Whole Foods Company faces concerns in particular to their limited
customer demographics; this is due to limited products and price outputs. In order for the organization
to compensate for the use of high end suppliers, and their expensive infrastructure, the company must
sell products at a higher cost than most of its competitors.
This would suggest a weakness within the Whole Foods organizations as it only targets consumers
who are willing to pay higher than average prices for groceries. The cost of

Melamed (2014) reported that O Donnell received his record breaking award in part due to a 16%
share of a $350 million slice of the penalty levied against Bank of America. O Donnell is also
protected under the Sarbanes Oxley Act from any retaliation by Countrywide or Bank of
America. As for Bank of America, the penalty signaled the beginning of zero tolerance for corrupt
corporate officials. In the report, Melamed (2014) made reference to comments by U.S. Attorney

Essay on The Effectiveness of Stalin s Use of Personal Power
From the 1920 s onwards, Stalin set the stage for gaining absolute power, through a number of
campaigns of repression against groups which opposed the Communist Party and Stalin himself. The
use of terror became a central part to Stalin s rule during the 1930 s with the launching of The Great
Purges against opposition to Stalin. It can be seen that Stalin did effectively remove opposition to the
exercise of his personal power until 1941 when Germany invaded Russia. The term purge in Soviet
political slang was an abbreviation of the expression purge of the party ranks. However, Stalin s terror
changed its meaning to almost certain arrest, imprisonment or even ... Show more content on

The main difference was the terror in the 1920 s was usually applied to obvious opponents of the
party; whereas the terror in the 1930 s was mainly against members of the party and against people
had committed no offences to be considered as opposition. Another major difference was the earlier
terror had occurred under exceptional circumstances in the civil war, when Communist rule was under
threat. The terror in the 1930 s took place while Communist rule was firmly in place. It is necessary to
make a clear distinction between The Purges and The Terror . The purges were the attempts to clean
up the party so that unworthy party members who only joined for their own advantage were expelled.
They were also attempts to ensure the party members were loyal, dedicated and active. Whereas The
Terror is the name given to the use of fear by Stalin to control the population and to remove his
opponents. There were many attempts to clean up the Communist party in the early 19360 s. In 1933
and 1934 a general purge of the party was launched where alien, unreliable and disreputable elements
were expelled from the party. At the end of 1934 nearly one million members were expelled from the
party and Ryutin was jailed. Also in this year a New Central Purge Commission was set up. In 1935
there was a verification of party documents

Antigone And Creon Essay
The play Antigone has many complex and some not so complex characters and that is what makes it
very easy to create juxtapositions within and throughout the play. Creon was a very basic character in
the beginning of the play and proved to be a simple character that believed in one thing that created
conflicts. Others added on and together that is where dialogue in the play fills in empty spaces in the
play. Conflicts are what makes this play more interesting to the reader. The biggest contrasting
character is Creon because of the conflict that he has with Antigone. The line in the second part of the
play is the part that sets all the other parts up with depth or good future dialogues Creon says He ll be
left unburied, his body there for the birds and dogs to eat, a clear reminder of his shameful fate. (line

Haemon, his son even ends up coming into the story because of his arguments with Ismene. The son is
one of the less spoken about characters since he does not play a big role but is rather thrown into the
story without much context. The first two lines in the fourth part of the play Ismene says You re going
to kill your own sons bride? And as Creon replies in return Why not? There are other fields for him to
plough. (Line 650 651). Ismene is brought up a lot through the play and we do get a lot of FaceTime
with her but she does not contrast with anyone until Antigone is on trial almost and that is when it
does not add anything to the argument. Emotion can be a deciding factor in a lot of choices and in
Creon s case his emotions are all jumbled up when he finds out he ruined his own

African American Womanhood
African American women, often perceived as a sexual object or the Jezebel (the stereotype of white
man view of the black woman as loose and over sexed) have struggled to eliminate images that
promote sexual exploitation such as their promiscuity (showing off their breast, behind, legs, and
showing much of their skin on television, music videos and magazines) through the use of feminist
movements and the creation of the womanist movement. However, in modern day society, black
women have accepted these sexual ideas which were once considered to be dishonorable. The
acceptance of this image, a direct cause of social construction and suppressed oppression, has given
rise to a disturbed vision of black womanhood for years to come. Despite this, ... Show more content

While both Black and White women are subject to sexualized images, the white woman defines the
standard of the socially acceptable view of what it is to be a woman. Not being able to fit into that set
of stereotypes, Black women consequently become deemed as the other within their own gender. The
stereotypes formed for African American women were even more significantly derogatory than that of
the image of the submissive house slave. This ideology of the 19th century Eurocentric norm was to
objectify these woman as sexually promiscuous. By exaggerating their actions and portraying them
into a negative perception, these portrayals were designed to oppress these women and deem them
inferior to their female counterpart. Decades later, these images still have influence today in the
perceptions of the Black women and their bodies. A great example of this sexism and racism can be
seen in today s criticism about female sports athletes such as the six time U. S Open tennis champion
Serena Williams and her sister Venus. Both have been scrutinized and over sexualized and ridiculed by
today s media with remarks such as the sisters being too masculine , Gorilla like and Savage . She is
also not only dehumanized by her body but also by the fact that she

Sexual Offenders And The Law
Sexual Offenders and the Law
Joseph D. Williams
Professor Weslea Bell
English 215
10 June 9, 2015 Sexual Offenders and the Law Sexual offender registry is a deeply emotional and
intuitive issue. The issue has captured the support of the politicians and the community, but the
upsurge of outwardly automatic public support has enabled and encouraged the legislators to move to
fast very quickly. The representatives latched onto this issue because it is a political strategy for
accumulating votes. Sexual offender laws are essential, but the prevalent indication demonstrates that
the conjecture surrounding sex offenders are principally incorrect. The legislation regarding sexual

The question one must ask themselves is What are the chances of recidivism rates on sexual offenders
compared to supplementary crimes ? In addition, should sexual registration laws be changed?
Sex offender registration in the United States began with the Jacob Wetterling Crimes against Children
and Sexually Violent Offender Registration Act, passed by Congress in 1994. Since then, every states
has indorsed some practice of sex offender registry and public reporting system. At present,
researchers have determined that Sex Laws are undeserved and unproductive . If the social order
wants to keep their children safe from real sex offenders, we need to do away with our existing sex
offender registries and absolutely rethink the way we outline and punish sexual offences in this
country. Currently, a substantial proportion of those people listed in sex offender registries pose almost
no threat to children, making it challenging for us to know who really does pose a threat to our
children and what we should do about them. As a nation, we have foolishly concluded that all sex
crimes are the same. While sex offender registry laws vary from state to state. The problem is simple
because the law says that two teens caught engaging in consensual oral sex in high school belong on
the same list as a child rapist. This notion is ridiculous. This concept leaves

Safety Of The Hpv Vaccine Essay
Safety of the HPV Vaccine There have been concerns about the safety of the HPV vaccines. In Basu s
(2013) article they reviewed the evidence from the phase III trials and national programs for the HPV
vaccine. After reviewing the data though the article showed that all the randomized control trials
reported both their serious and non serious adverse events that took place during the phase III trials.
There were 20,000 participants in the trial (p.4). Pain at the injection site, headache, and fatigue were
the most frequently reported issues. The serious adverse effects were very rare so the vaccine was
considered safe. When reviewing the safety data from the national programs in Australia there were
millions of doses given out and the most adverse side effects there were anaphylactic and allergic
reactions, and these were not seen as any more dangerous than it is for other vaccines. In the US about
40 million doses were given out and among the reports that were received by the Vaccine Adverse
Event Reporting System which totaled 20,096 only 8% of these reports were actually were considered
serious (p.5). All the reports were reviewed and could not find any adverse events that occurred that
could be ascribed to the vaccine. In the UK they reviewed the vaccine two years after it came out and
concluded it to be safe. Reviewing the data from all three counties in the national programs showed
that none of the deaths that occurred could be linked to the vaccine. So both the

The definition of arrogance is overbearing pride. I see arrogance almost everywhere I go: the store,

able to know when you need help, and be able to accept it. Those who do not accept help and are too
arrogant, which is a sin. Many of the Greek myths, some of my family members, and myself
sometimes have arrogance. Almost every Greek myth in Heroes, Gods, and Monsters of the Greek

An Analysis Of Calvin s Argument For Providence
AN ANALYSIS OF CALVIN S ARGUMENT FOR PROVIDENCE
Calvin on Providence In a time of chaos, the words, God is in control, can bring peace to believers and
non believers alike. This phrase has found its way to bumper stickers, Hallmark cards, and Facebook
post, and in many ways it has become a junk drawer phrase one that we pull out when we need a
comforting cliché. When pandemonium breaks loose and we seem to have lost all control, then it is
convenient for God to be in control. But what about when things are not? What if things are relatively
normal. What does it mean for God to be sovereign? This is the question that has perhaps caused more
controversy than any other. For John Calvin, God was completely sovereign. Nothing outside the will
of God could take place, because everything that has taken place, is taking place, or will take place has
been divinely ordained before time began. God is the source of all good, and evil cannot take place
without His permission. According to Calvin, all of humankind are lost in their sins, and so depraved
that they are incapable of finding salvation without God performing an inner miracle within them.
This being said, God has elected to Himself a chosen people from the beginning of time, not off of
merit, but sola gratia.
In Chapter 17 of Book I of Calvin s Institutes of the Christian Religion, Calvin expounds upon how
when it comes to Calvin s view of providence, nothing is more profitable than the knowledge of this

controversy in our society. The reason being, the doll came with a scale that only went up to 110

UK,2017). Mattel, the maker of Barbie, had numerous complaints from many parents. Due to that,
researchers ran an experiment to test whether the doll did influence young girls on their body image.
There was a survey that was conducted with women that played with Barbie s when they were

throughout the remainder of the study. The mating period covered as long as two weeks. Because it is
specified that both male and female rats were dosed before and during mating as well as through
gestation, because the manuscript indicates that male and female rats were dosed 5 days per week
prior to gestation, and that pregnant dams were dosed 7 days per week during gestation, it is assumed
that male rats were dosed 5 days per week during gestation, as during the mating and pre mating
period. The range of durations in based on the unspecified duration of the mating period, indicated as

Seahorse Research Paper
Did you know that seahorses are the only members of the Hippocampus species? The name
Hippocampus is Greek, it means Horse Sea Monster. There are thirty four different species of
seahorses. Many people are surprised when they find out that seahorses are a type of fish. They have
fins and gills, the defining features of a fish. When seahorses are in a group they are called a herd, just
like horses. Seahorses usually live one to five years, but they are becoming endangered because their
habitat is slowly being destroyed. Seahorses can be as small as one inch long and as tall as twelve
inches long! (Trisha Shaskan, page 23) Seahorses are not alone though, the Syngnathidae family also
includes pipefish and seadragons. Syngnathidae means fused jaw. Pipefish are very similar to
seahorses, but there are also differences. For example they look a little different, their necks are not
bent, and they are very long and thin. Only a few male pipefish have pouches to hold babies like male
seahorses. The rest attach the eggs to their stomach or tuck them in folds in their skin. Sea dragons ...

We are enticed by their beauty. Some people dry them and grind them into medicines and potions
falsely believing that the powder will improve their beauty, strength, or health. Millions of seahorses
are killed this way. In fact, one pound of dried seahorses used in Chinese medicine can sell for over
five hundred dollars! (Deborah Coldiron, page 29) Seahorses habitats shrink due to pollution and other
human activities. People dredge their homes, knocking over the plants used for their habitats. Luckily,
people have begun to realize the dangers that seahorses face In 2004 seahorses became a protected
species. Now there are limits on the sale and fishing of seahorses. People work hard to return them to
the ocean and replace their homes. So now that we have realized all the troubles seahorses face we
have been doing our best to save

Abu Ghraib Prison Research Paper
What happened at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq can only be described as war crimes. The torture of
prisoners under American control includes being beaten, stripped, shocked, and starved of food among
many other cruelties. In spite of the overwhelming proof of crimes, many of those involved were only
charged with abuse of prisoners not of war crimes. Of those involved, only the lower to mid level
personnel were charged. The overseer of the prison, General Janis Karpinski, was only relieved of her
command. Other top level personnel within the army were cleared of all wrongdoing. At first many
media sources tried to spin the torture of the prisoners as actions similar to hazing rituals. Other
people viewed the photographs as normal within the

Salem Witch Trials Research Paper
McCarthyism and the Salem Witch trials The search for commies and witches happened at different
points in time but had many similarities with very few differences. George Santayana said that, Those
who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it. this quote I feel directly goes along with
McCarthyism and the Salem Witch Trials.
From June till September 1692 nineteen men and women died for being accused of being a witch or
wizard. All these people were hanged on gallows hill except one old man who was eighty years old
who was pressed to death because he refused to be on trial. He was pressed to death because they

When he was 33 McCarthy volunteered for the United States Marine Corps and served during world

widely recognized until he gave a speech that had a list of people in the communist party in the state

government officials of being communist sympathizers. He had multiple speeches accusing people of

Changes in Russia Captured in the Works of Anton Chekhov...
Anton Chekhov (1860 1904) was born a year before the emancipation of serfism in Russia took place.
Although he was the grandson of a serf, Chekhov was able to attend the medical school at the
University of Moscow and become a physician. Chekhov started writing in order to support his family
economically, becoming a master in drama and short stories. His literature is characterized by the use
of colloquial language which could be understood even by the less educated and recently liberated
serfs. Social change is the main theme in The Cherry Orchard , a four act play written in 1904. In this
play the different characters portray how changes in Russia after the emancipation of 1861 were
taking place and although the play is set several ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, many peasants, although liberated, remained in their state of peasants following the old
regime. These men are symbolized by Firs, an old servant for whom freedom was insignificant. He
stays loyal, working in the Cherry Orchard as a serf since he had no other opportunities in life. Firs
and Lohpakin on one side contrast Madame Ranevsky and Gayef her brother. The first two portraying
two different ways in which emancipation affected peasants, and the last two, showing how the
emancipation affected Russian aristocracy.
The past is constantly mentioned by the characters in this play. Even the cherry orchard as property, is
a symbol of the Old Russian regime. The end of the Old Regime therefore, is portrayed by Chekhov
when at the end of the play Lohpakin becomes the owner of the estate and cuts the cherry orchard.
Chekhov, as a contemporary observer, uses his play to criticize some aspects of the emancipation of
1861. The message he leaves is that although the emancipation was an important step towards
freedom, it was not the only one to be made. This message, besides being given throughout the novel,
is also stated by Trofimov, an idealist student who realizes how far Russia is from achieving real
freedom. At the end of Act 2, Trofivom tells Anya, Madame Ranevskaya s 17 year old daughter: ...In
order to start living in the present, we first have to redeem our past, make an end of it, and we can only
do that through suffering... .
The play shows us

Jean Luc Godard s Weekend as Didactic Self-Reflexive Cinema
James Goodman 5 March 2005 Auguiste Communication Essay Jean Luc Godard s Weekend as
Didactic Self Reflexive Cinema According to Stephen Prince in Movies and Meaning: an Introduction
to Film, Screen Reality is a concept that pertains to the principles of time, space, character behavior
and audiovisual design that filmmakers systematically organize in a given film to create an ordered
world on screen in which characters may act and in which a narrative may unfold.(262) One mode of
cinematic screen reality is self reflexivity. While the other three modes of screen reality seek to sway
the audience into accepting the authenticity of the world and the story that are on screen, the self
reflexive style deliberately attempts to tear down ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Weekend represents the culture of political violence and social experimentation, artistic and sexual,
which was the latter half of the 1960s. This somewhat comic but depressing film of Godard s is a
satirical poem and construct of the contempt with which he obviously holds bourgeoisie society. Much
of the film expresses this through the use of symbolism and metaphor. In order to better facilitate the
process whereby the audience becomes aware of Godard s intentions and his message he introduces us
to a young Parisian married couple. Godard sets the clichéd couple, alienated and bourgeois, on a
journey for Corinne s parents country house, hoping to find them either dead or willing to sign the
will. As they persist in their journey we are given various opportunities to appreciate the absolute
complacency and ignorance of the couple (meant to be emblematic of all bourgeois). Godard tries to
peel off the hypocrisy of bourgeois society through the weekend trip of this Parisian middle class
couple. Weekend is a clear continuation of the style, and even ideology, which originated with Brecht
s work in the theater. Jean Luc Godard weaves didactic self reflexive techniques throughout the film,
in order to break the illusion that the spectator is watching a real, authentic world on screen rather than
a movie. In doing so, Godard finds the ability to share his discourse directly with the audience instead
of employing characters to do the job for

Is Equality Making Us Sick
If I were to tell you that based on your economic standpoint in life that in its self could help determine
the future of your health, would you believe me or call me absurd? A recent documentary called Is
Equality Making Us Sick takes a strong argument to show that the life you grow up in or even build
for yourself can determine such a factor that seems only fitting for God to decide. This factor is called
social determinants of health, meaning that based on your access to income and education this will
help determine your life span (Unnatural causes). Social, as well as income inequality will be what
puts you on your death bed faster or slower and is a matter that shall not be taken lightly.
So, how is it in a country as flourished as The United States can we face such an issue? A country
where we have the highest growth domestic product (Washington Post, year), a country where our
athletes prove us again and again that we are on top of the world, beating record after record. After all
this, how can we still be so inclined that our health is not at its prime game, as it should be? Has our
competition with the rest of the world belittle us and blinded us with our own corners of the world.
The harsh reality is that the United States lead 30th in life expectancy and our overall life expectancy
is just shy of 78 years (Unnatural Causes/put publication and year for documentary citation). This has
to do with the opportunities we give our citizens and their limits; limits such

Thermo-Chemical Storage Systems Essay
Thermochemical heat storage can be physical (sorptive) or chemical based on the material used. The
storage system which does not involve the production of new compound is called sorptive storage
while those which involve formation of new compound are called chemical storage. The successful
thermochemical storage system is sorptive storage system that works on utilizing the heat of reaction
enthalpy. Thermochemical storage has considerable benefits when compared to sensible and the latent
heat thermal energy storage systems since it is easily controllable which prevents the heat loss. The
features of sorptive heat storage technology enables the implementation on a large scale.

The features like increased storage capacity, decreased heat loss to the environment and flexibility of
heat storage over a wide range of temperatures makes the thermochemical storage system superior to
other storage systems.
The sorptive technology involves the absorption or adsorption of molecules through a reaction thereby
storing heat. This kind of sorption system results in the formation of physical bond between the
reaction pair, adsorbent (A) and adsorptive (B), which has a preferably high energy turnover. The
preferred reaction is mostly reversible in order to perform many charge and discharge cycles.
A + B ↔ AB + heat (see Figure 2) Figure 2: Schematic diagram of sorptive thermal energy storage
technology
When charging the compound, heat is applied to substance AB which dissociate into separate A and B
molecule/compound. The storage is facilitated by using certain inhibitors that control the reverse
reaction. To release heat, the A and B components are reacted by removal of inhibitors, ultimately
favoring the reaction, resulting in the formation of compound AB and releasing heat. During this
cyclic process, when the reaction between A and B is prevented, the heat which can be stored due to
chemical energy cannot be released. The adsorbent such as zeolite (see Figure 3) react with water
thereby act as a sorptive storage material where adsorption of water

Pros And Cons Of Lowering The Voting Age
Have you ever wondered if the voting age could be lowered? Well there is a huge Controversy on it.
Why? Because many young adults, or teenagers, live and have the same responsibility as an adult
would .In many peoples opinion, it should be lowered .Many people think the same way, young voices
matter. On the voting age there are many people that think teenagers cannot vote .They should be
allowed too. Teenagers are young adults. That should have the same right as regular adults do. Just
because of their age, many people think they re irresponsible. They need to consider young adults are
just like regular adults. In fact young Americans pay taxes, they pay a lot of them. Teens pay estimated
9.7 billions of dollars in taxes on income, according to the IRS. You can be a teen you may not even

Informative Essay On Halloween
Halloween has its roots in the ancient, pre Christian Celtic festival of Samhain, which was celebrated
on the night of October 31. The Celts, who lived 2,000 years ago in the area that is now Ireland, the
United Kingdom and northern France, believed that the dead returned to earth on Samhain.
http://www.history.com/topics/halloween/history of trick or treating
I don t think most people know about the real history of Halloween because these days it s all about
neighborhoods buying candy and kids and adult dressing up in costume with bags, pillow cases, etc.
going door to door knocking or ringing the doorbell saying trick or treat and the owners give you
candy. The meaning of Halloween today? The meaning of Halloween today isn t as it used to be when
I was growing up, me and my cousins used to see who had the best costume and who had the most
candy at the end of the night. Halloween is celebrated in other countries today, In Ireland, where
Halloween originated, the day is still celebrated much as it is in the United States. In rural areas,
bonfires are lit as they were in the days of the Celts, and all over the country, children get dressed up

Sonnet 95 By William Shakespeare
Sonnet 95 follows what I would categorize as the hinge poem, meaning that Sonnet 94 is the poem
that, through its flattery underlined with some sort of malice, opens the door for the anger that follows
in the proceeding sonnet. The speaker has now fully understood that the young man has decided him,
having relations with another, and confronts him in this sonnet. There is such veracity in the lines that
a reader could easily imagine how the speaker would have said them to the young man, at a reasonable
volume with such edge to the voice it would seem some sort of malevolent contempt. Although, one
must not ignore the longing held in the undercurrent of the speaker s voice, a type of realization that
the person whom you loved does not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A bug that can be squashed and is not as fixed as a stain may be, which makes more sense given the
slanted threat given in the ending couplet. That insect doth spot the beauty of the budding name! To be
clear, that budding name refers to the young man s reputation as a name is a reference to a certain
person and all that is remembered of them; his reputation is starting to develop. Beauty is what the
man is known for, it is his reputation to be beautiful physically and perhaps, internally. Yet, that insect
has spotted that rose and along with it, that name. Spotted, as to stain or mar, more likely to mean saw
or find. The absoluteness of a stain is not consistent with the underlying hope that perchance it is
possible for the young man to change. The second quatrain is a further expansion of the speaker s
reaction to what the young man has said and provides a reason to believe the man had told the speaker
of his deceit. That speaker writes, that tongue that tells the story of thy days,/ making lascivious
comment on thy sport,/ cannot dispraise, but in a kind of praise; alluding to the way the young man
talks about his debauchery as if there is no sin in its actions. These lines are a response to the way the
man talks of his actions whereas the first quatrain was response to the actions themselves. The young
man tells stories of his days, perhaps with another lover, with ease to the speaker. He talks of his sport,
his entertainment, his fun, his affair with

  • 2. Biblical Allusions in The Magician s Nephew The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician s Nephew is very interesting story wise. It has a lot of good morals and allegories teaching integrity, self control and wisdom and is mostly composed of biblical allusions. A biblical allusion is to use a reference from the bible to communicate a hidden meaning. You could compare your best friend to Jonathan, King David s loyal friend in the books of Samuel. You could also illustrate faith through the strength of the disciples as they remained faithful even in persecution. Those who had this free will to speak had been given the land that was created to populate. This is closely related to the creation of man and woman and the freedom of speech for humanity. As long as they did not go back to their old ways as dumb animals, the speaking animals were given authority by Aslan to govern the animals who could not talk. Lewis gives us a hint that humans are dumb in nature, and that we would be nothing without God, for He is the only one who can raise us up from the lowly beginning from whence we had come from. Here is a quote from the book showing the authority of Aslan, just as God has authority over us as His creation. Creatures, I give you yourselves, said the strong, happy voice of Aslan. I give to you forever this land of Narnia. I give you the woods, the fruits, the rivers. I give you the stars and I give you myself. The Dumb Beasts whom I have not chosen are yours also. Treat them gently and cherish them but do not go back to their ways lest you cease to be Talking Beasts. For out of them you were taken and into them you can return. Do not so. • 3. Cryptography Is Art Of Secret Writing 1. The term cryptography develops from a Greek word which implies hidden or secret writing. Cryptography is art of secret writing. The primary service provided by cryptography is capability to send information between two participants in an effective way that halts others from reading it. This type of cryptography provides other services namely, integrity checking→ reassuring the recipient regarding a new message in which the message doesn t seem to be altered viewing that it was actually given by a legal source. Authentication →verifying someone s (or something s) identity. Messages within its original form is named plain text or clear text. The hidden info is generally known as cipher text. The procedure for producing cipher text from plain text is named encryption. The reverse of encryption is known as decryption. While cryptographers invent clever secret codes, crypt analysts plan to break these codes. Both these disciplines constantly make sure to keep in advance of one another. Ultimately, the successes of the cryptographers rests on the cryptography systems are likely to involve both an algorithm as well as a secret value. Here the secret value is called as key. The purpose for having a key alongside an algorithm is the idea that it can be problematic to keep devising new algorithms which allows reversible scrambling of data, and it will be hard to quickly explain a newly devised algorithm with the person you d be willing to start communicating securely. 2. ... An example, the Whole Foods Company faces concerns in particular to their limited customer demographics; this is due to limited products and price outputs. In order for the organization to compensate for the use of high end suppliers, and their expensive infrastructure, the company must sell products at a higher cost than most of its competitors. Essay on The Effectiveness of Stalin s Use of Personal Power From the 1920 s onwards, Stalin set the stage for gaining absolute power, through a number of campaigns of repression against groups which opposed the Communist Party and Stalin himself. The use of terror became a central part to Stalin s rule during the 1930 s with the launching of The Great Purges against opposition to Stalin. It can be seen that Stalin did effectively remove opposition to the exercise of his personal power until 1941 when Germany invaded Russia. Creon was a very basic character in the beginning of the play and proved to be a simple character that believed in one thing that created conflicts. Others added on and together that is where dialogue in the play fills in empty spaces in the play. Conflicts are what makes this play more interesting to the reader. The biggest contrasting character is Creon because of the conflict that he has with Antigone. The line in the second part of the play is the part that sets all the other parts up with depth or good future dialogues Creon says He ll be left unburied, his body there for the birds and dogs to eat, a clear reminder of his shameful fate. However, in modern day society, black women have accepted these sexual ideas which were once considered to be dishonorable. While both Black and White women are subject to sexualized images, the white woman defines the standard of the socially acceptable view of what it is to be a woman. Not being able to fit into that set of stereotypes, Black women consequently become deemed as the other within their own gender. The stereotypes formed for African American women were even more significantly derogatory than that of the image of the submissive house slave. This ideology of the 19th century Eurocentric norm was to objectify these woman as sexually promiscuous. By exaggerating their actions and portraying them into a negative perception, these portrayals were designed to oppress these women and deem them inferior to their female counterpart. Decades later, these images still have influence today in the perceptions of the Black women and their bodies. A great example of this sexism and racism can be seen in today s criticism about female sports athletes such as the six time U. S Open tennis champion Serena Williams and her sister Venus. The issue has captured the support of the politicians and the community, but the upsurge of outwardly automatic public support has enabled and encouraged the legislators to move to fast very quickly. Since then, every states has indorsed some practice of sex offender registry and public reporting system. At present, researchers have determined that Sex Laws are undeserved and unproductive . If the social order wants to keep their children safe from real sex offenders, we need to do away with our existing sex offender registries and absolutely rethink the way we outline and punish sexual offences in this country. Currently, a substantial proportion of those people listed in sex offender registries pose almost no threat to children, making it challenging for us to know who really does pose a threat to our children and what we should do about them. As a nation, we have foolishly concluded that all sex crimes are the same. While sex offender registry laws vary from state to state. • 19. An Analysis Of Calvin s Argument For Providence AN ANALYSIS OF CALVIN S ARGUMENT FOR PROVIDENCE Calvin on Providence In a time of chaos, the words, God is in control, can bring peace to believers and non believers alike. This phrase has found its way to bumper stickers, Hallmark cards, and Facebook post, and in many ways it has become a junk drawer phrase one that we pull out when we need a comforting cliché. When pandemonium breaks loose and we seem to have lost all control, then it is convenient for God to be in control. But what about when things are not? What if things are relatively normal. What does it mean for God to be sovereign? This is the question that has perhaps caused more controversy than any other. For John Calvin, God was completely sovereign. Nothing outside the will of God could take place, because everything that has taken place, is taking place, or will take place has been divinely ordained before time began. God is the source of all good, and evil cannot take place without His permission. According to Calvin, all of humankind are lost in their sins, and so depraved that they are incapable of finding salvation without God performing an inner miracle within them. This being said, God has elected to Himself a chosen people from the beginning of time, not off of merit, but sola gratia. In Chapter 17 of Book I of Calvin s Institutes of the Christian Religion, Calvin expounds upon how when it comes to Calvin s view of providence, nothing is more profitable than the knowledge of this ... Barbie was a friend, a fashion archetype, and a stylist who transformed young girl lives. Many young girls were impacted with Barbie s in a materialistic way. For instance, Barbie s clothing style and accessories became an obsession for young girls to be just like them. Young girls wouldn t even play with other toys and only focused on their beautiful Barbie, who became their best friend. It was like these young girls were infatuated with their Barbie Dolls. This Barbie caused a lot of controversy in our society. The reason being, the doll came with a scale that only went up to 110 pounds and a diet book. There was also a sign that said, How to lose weight? Don t eat (HuffPost UK,2017). Mattel, the maker of Barbie, had numerous complaints from many parents. Due to that, researchers ran an experiment to test whether the doll did influence young girls on their body image. There was a survey that was conducted with women that played with Barbie s when they were younger, 18 out of 25 stated that they would rather be hit by a truck than be fat. In another experiment that was done by scientists, young girls would be exposed to three different dolls. On one hand, the young girls that viewed the Barbie had a self image problem, and a desire to be thin compared to the other girl that looked at the other two dolls. The conclusion of this experiment proved that young girl s role model was Barbie, and being exposed to that doll impacted them in a negative manner. As a result, these girls developed an eating disorder. The empirical reasoning or the bottom up thinking was specific data was collected, and after further analysis supported the hypothesis. There are thirty four different species of seahorses. Many people are surprised when they find out that seahorses are a type of fish. They have fins and gills, the defining features of a fish. When seahorses are in a group they are called a herd, just like horses. Seahorses usually live one to five years, but they are becoming endangered because their habitat is slowly being destroyed. Seahorses can be as small as one inch long and as tall as twelve inches long! (Trisha Shaskan, page 23) Seahorses are not alone though, the Syngnathidae family also includes pipefish and seadragons. Syngnathidae means fused jaw. Pipefish are very similar to seahorses, but there are also differences. Although he was the grandson of a serf, Chekhov was able to attend the medical school at the University of Moscow and become a physician. Chekhov started writing in order to support his family economically, becoming a master in drama and short stories. His literature is characterized by the use of colloquial language which could be understood even by the less educated and recently liberated serfs. However, many peasants, although liberated, remained in their state of peasants following the old regime. These men are symbolized by Firs, an old servant for whom freedom was insignificant. He stays loyal, working in the Cherry Orchard as a serf since he had no other opportunities in life. Firs and Lohpakin on one side contrast Madame Ranevsky and Gayef her brother. The first two portraying two different ways in which emancipation affected peasants, and the last two, showing how the emancipation affected Russian aristocracy. The past is constantly mentioned by the characters in this play. Even the cherry orchard as property, is a symbol of the Old Russian regime. The end of the Old Regime therefore, is portrayed by Chekhov when at the end of the play Lohpakin becomes the owner of the estate and cuts the cherry orchard. Chekhov, as a contemporary observer, uses his play to criticize some aspects of the emancipation of 1861. The message he leaves is that although the emancipation was an important step towards freedom, it was not the only one to be made. This message, besides being given throughout the novel, is also stated by Trofimov, an idealist student who realizes how far Russia is from achieving real freedom. At the end of Act 2, Trofivom tells Anya, Madame Ranevskaya s 17 year old daughter: ...In order to start living in the present, we first have to redeem our past, make an end of it, and we can only do that through suffering... . Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Weekend represents the culture of political violence and social experimentation, artistic and sexual, which was the latter half of the 1960s. This somewhat comic but depressing film of Godard s is a satirical poem and construct of the contempt with which he obviously holds bourgeoisie society. Much of the film expresses this through the use of symbolism and metaphor. In order to better facilitate the process whereby the audience becomes aware of Godard s intentions and his message he introduces us to a young Parisian married couple. Godard sets the clichéd couple, alienated and bourgeois, on a journey for Corinne s parents country house, hoping to find them either dead or willing to sign the will. As they persist in their journey we are given various opportunities to appreciate the absolute complacency and ignorance of the couple (meant to be emblematic of all bourgeois). Godard tries to peel off the hypocrisy of bourgeois society through the weekend trip of this Parisian middle class couple. Weekend is a clear continuation of the style, and even ideology, which originated with Brecht s work in the theater. Jean Luc Godard weaves didactic self reflexive techniques throughout the film, in order to break the illusion that the spectator is watching a real, authentic world on screen rather than a movie. In doing so, Godard finds the ability to share his discourse directly with the audience instead of employing characters to do the job for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The successful thermochemical storage system is sorptive storage system that works on utilizing the heat of reaction enthalpy. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The features like increased storage capacity, decreased heat loss to the environment and flexibility of heat storage over a wide range of temperatures makes the thermochemical storage system superior to other storage systems. The sorptive technology involves the absorption or adsorption of molecules through a reaction thereby storing heat. This kind of sorption system results in the formation of physical bond between the reaction pair, adsorbent (A) and adsorptive (B), which has a preferably high energy turnover. The preferred reaction is mostly reversible in order to perform many charge and discharge cycles. A + B ↔ AB + heat (see Figure 2) Figure 2: Schematic diagram of sorptive thermal energy storage technology When charging the compound, heat is applied to substance AB which dissociate into separate A and B molecule/compound. The storage is facilitated by using certain inhibitors that control the reverse reaction. To release heat, the A and B components are reacted by removal of inhibitors, ultimately favoring the reaction, resulting in the formation of compound AB and releasing heat. During this cyclic process, when the reaction between A and B is prevented, the heat which can be stored due to chemical energy cannot be released.
