The Enigma Code
Everyone has a passion, everyone has a purpose, but more importantly everyone has an impact.
In the beginning of the 20th Century, there was a boy named Alan Turing who seemed like any
other troublesome delinquent, but as he grew he became one of the most crucial tools for the
British Military. Morten Tyldum directs, The Imitation Game, which is a piece of
cinematography created to illustrate the period of time during WWII where the German use of
the Enigma code, which is an encrypted form of communication, had not yet been solved. This
mystery allowed Germans to communicate freely, without having to worry about other countries
interfering.. The British force attempted to crack the code, but there were several obstacles that
stood in their way that earned the enigma code, impossible to crack. The decryption of the
Enigma code was such a daunting task primarily because there were millions upon millions of
settings for the transmitting machine, and those attempting to understand had less than 24 hours
to crack it, or else the cycle started over. The movie focuses primarily on the leader of the team
that cracked the code, Alan Turing. It begins post World War II, in an effort to demonstrate how
Turing s sexual orientation lead to his depression and suicide, as well as to highlight that the life a
genius man who saved millions of lives was never congratulated by anyone other than those who
were already close to him. As one would expect, Hollywood hyperbolized some of the

Hanfu s Role In Modern Society
As I mentioned before in the previous posts, comparing to the Japanese Kimono and Korea
Hanbok, Chinese Hanfu has a much longer history. However, in the contemporary society, Hanfu
is the one which has been ignored mostly. Except a small group of people who studied it, almost
no one wear it in daily life or even important ceremonies or holidays. More than 81% of Chinese
citizens even do not know about what it is.
Of course, this pathetic result came with a reason. Ever since 1644, the whole China was
transformed to Qing dynasty, which was ruled by Manchu, another nationality in China. However, I
have already introduced before that Hanfu is the traditional clothing for the Han nationality. The
King of Qing dynasty ordered to stop people from

Conquistadors Summary
The reshaping of the New World began the moment Spaniards set foot on the continent. Those first
conquistadors documented their encounters with native peoples, emphasizing their desire to
convert these peoples to Christianity and away from their heathenistic rituals. The documents
presented by Stuart B. Schwartz portray accounts from the perspectives of both the conquerors and
the conquered. His work does not provide much in the way of personal interpretation but rather
displays the documents so the reader can compare better both sides of the New World inhabitants.
These documents present an opportunity to consider moments of heroism, greed, and despair born
during the clashing of Spanish and Nahua cultures and challenge the way historians view such
cultures and the interpretation of primary texts. Schwartz s goal, it would seem, is not to persuade
readers of the accuracy of one source over another but rather to call attention to how personal
interests, class and ethnic biases, and politics influence the interpretation of the conquering of the
Aztec empire. Irene Silverblatt examines the new Spanish lands after Spaniards have established
themselves in and amongst the native peoples. She describes the development of a modern world
through the views of Spanish imperialism and argues that the Inquisition provides such evidence.
Using church records, sermons, and missionary guides, Silverblatt examines how the modern world
was build, experienced, and understood by the

Weight Gain And Obesity
polycystic ovarian syndrome also contribute to weight gain and obesity, and as well as
medications. Obesity affects every body system, especially cardiac disease is increased, as well
as HTN, hypertriglyceridemia, and decreased HDL cholesterol. Remarkable weight gain increases
the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, obstructive sleep apnea, gastric reflux, urinary incontinence,
and gallbladder disease (Grossman Porth, 2014). Room 587 also struggles with HTN, sleep apnea,
and gastric reflux. Her struggles with these comorbidities are caused by her morbid obesity, which
led to metabolic syndrome. Limited mobility and increased joint problems are also the results of

Due to her obesity, she struggles with sleep apnea, which is a sleep disordered breathing (SDB),
accompanied by daytime symptoms. Sleep apnea can be divided into two types, central sleep
apnea and obstructive sleep apnea. Central sleep apnea is not common, and the cause is
unknown. Central sleep apnea is often associated with Cheyne stokes breathing. Obstructive
sleep apnea (OSA) is caused by upper airway obstruction and is mostly associated with snoring,
disrupted sleep, excessive daytime sleepiness, and is the most common type disease (Grossman
Porth, 2014). Room 587 has OSA, which is probably due to her obesity because sleep apnea is
associated with obesity. Signs and symptoms of sleep apnea are loud snoring and labored
breathing interrupted by periods of silence that are soon followed by apnea. Treatment of OSA
is based on the severity of the condition. Behavior measures may be the only treatment necessary,
such as weight loss, and proper bed positioning disease (Grossman Porth, 2014). Since Room
587 is not willing to make an effort to lose weight, then one can say that she will struggle with
this condition for a long time. Another comorbidity that Room 587 has is a vascular disease,
which is similar to PAD. Atherosclerosis is the main cause of PAD, which is mostly in the vessels
of the lower extremities. The popliteal arteries are affected the most, and when lesions develop,

Personality Traits From Jung Typology Test Essay
Throughout this paper, I am going to talk about the personality ENFJ . ENFJ is one of the
personality traits from Jung Typology Test. E stands for Extroversion, N stands for Intuition, F
stands for feelings, and the J stands for Judging. All of the letter comes with different personality
types. During this exercise I learned about this personality ENFJ. Some of the personality traits
are good people skills, strong organizational skills, creative, imaginative, loyal, and committed.
Some strengthens are good verbal communication skills, motivational, inspiring to others, and
affectionate. Some weakness are tendency to be smothering, manipulative at times, controlling,
and putting someone else needs over my own. I will talk about different career paths that fit my
personality. Last but not least, how I treat my loves one and friends? Step 1 Personality Traits
After completing my personality test, I am considered to be the giver (ENFJ). ENFJ primary
mode of living is where you deal with things according to how you feel about them or how they
fit with my personality. Secondary mode is internal where you take things in primarily via your
intuition. One of main interest is giving love, support, and good time to other people. (Meyers
Briggs). ENFJ personality focus more on individuals rather than themselves. I have excellent
people skills. I bring out the best in other people. I am a straight forward person and very honest. I

India and Pakistan Negotiations
There have been numerous negotiations taken place between India and Pakistan since 1947. They
have ranged from inconsequential issues such as Border Railway Crossing and Time Tables to
highly disputatious ones like National Security interests including Nuclear Confidence building
measures and to the highly infamous Kashmirissue.
Before discussing the negotiations which occurred over the Kashmir issue, we need to know the
origin of the Kashmir problem!
A Walk into the History
After the departure of the British Empire from the Indian Subcontinent, it led to the formation of
two different countries India and Pakistan along religious lines (Hinduism and Islam). (Kux, 87)
These two new dominions had around 650 states run by princes. Theoretically these states had the
option of choosing either of the countries or remain independent. By remaining independent they
would have let monarchy leap over democracy. These independent states were advised by the
British Government to get associated with either of the two dominions keeping in view the
geographical and other relevant considerations, for the sole purpose of securing their defence,
foreign relations and other specified matters.
One of these newly independent states was Kashmir, which according to its geographical
positioning had the option of choosing either of the two dominions but there lied a problem which
was, the ruler of Kashmir was a Hindu believer but the majority of the population in Kashmir was
Muslim. Being

Research On Cognitive Affective Processes
Intersubjectivity refers to the shared understanding between individuals (Göncü, 1993). Research
shows cognitive affective processes help to develop intersubjectivity (Tronick Cohn, 1989).
Similarly, in psychotherapeutic relationships, cognitive affective processes are the building blocks
to the therapeutic alliance. A psychotherapeutic alliance constitutes the shared client
psychotherapist relationship marked by mutual respect, caring and shared understanding of
therapeutic goals. If intersubjectivityis nurtured in the client psychotherapist relationship, this can
lead to increased mutual understanding and goal achievement (as defined by the client) in
psychotherapy. In order to show that psychotherapeutic alliances can be fortified by applying
intersubjectivity to psychotherapeutic relationships, this paper is divided into four parts. First the
literature review opens with the origin and definition of intersubjectivity, including sections on
communication, affect, prolepsis and zone of proximal development (ZPD). The second section
will look at applications to psychotherapy. The third section will offer implications to the field and
finally concluding remarks will close with societal shifts that must be made to foster
intersubjectivity in psychotherapy.

MMA Training Videos
A question we get very often on our forum is about MMA training videos. Our readers want to
know which is the best set of MMA training DVD s for them available, online or offline.
Unfortunately, this question is very hard to answer. I ll explain in a minute.
But first, let s have a quick look at what MMA is. MMA is short for Mixed Martial Arts. It s a
fighting sport with lots of fans and several shows like UFC, Bellator, M1 Global and Elite XC.
UFC has become so famous that it s even threatening boxing s supremacy in popularity rankings.
MMA fighters employ techniques, holds, grappling moves, submission techniques, kicks and
punches from a wide variety of martial arts and from Brazilian jiu jitsu (BJJ), Muay Thai and Krav
Maga (the Israeli Defense Force close quarters combat technique) amongst others. Maybe ... Show

Most training videos will focus on one or two styles max. So the right set of training DVD s for
you may not be the same as the one for the next guy. Additionally, some people need training videos
to start to train and ultimately start fighting in a ring. Others want to learn self defense techniques
from the Mixed Martial Arts training DVD s. Others are looking to pick up a few quick pointers
to help them out should they ever get into a street or bar fight, yet others look at it as a preferred
way of working out (subdivided in acquiring body weight and cardio exercise). A minority even
looks for them just to show off with their friends...
Then there are training DVD s and videos for beginners, for intermediary fighters and a few that
teach advanced techniques. This is very important! Trying advanced techniques as a beginner
might cause serious injuries to yourself or your sparring partner. Some of the advanced techniques
can cause death when executed in the wrong way or with excessive force. We recommend that you

Imobilizing Enzymes
The purpose of immobilising enzymes before they are used to catalyse a reaction is to be reused
again because they are not completely lost in the solution. We immobilised lactase enzyme by
dissolving it in sodium alginate gel. This is one of the more widely used practises in industry as it
is very efficient and effective. We can see that by our experiment by immobilising the enzymeand
could retain it even after it has been involved in the reaction by catalysing the breakdown of lactose
in glucoseand galactose.
Lactose was contained within the milk and as the milk met the immobilised lactase, it began to
break down into glucose and galactose. The results show, as the lactose in the milk was left to
the lactase for longer, the break down into glucose and galactose increased. This can be seen by
the colour change. To begin with we tested the milk for glucose by dipping the clinistix before
the treatment and the result was negative, showing that no glucose was present. Once the milk
was exposed in the lactase enzyme for 5 minutes it had already begun to break down into glucose
and galactose, the first test showed some signs of glucose as had turned from blue to light green.
As the experiment progressed and the milk was left in the lactase enzyme for longer, more and
more was broken down into glucose and galactose, this is evident by ... Show more content on

It made it more difficult to give an accurate time of conversion. This could be improved, by using
more advanced type of glucose detecting sticks to measure the percentage of glucose conversion.
This will give a quantitative, which would produce more accurate tables and graphs. I could use a
set time for to check how much is converted. This would prevent problems such as interference of
the beads and lactose and galactose molecules, blocking the glucose molecules from the end of the
syringe

The Adaptation Model By Sister Callista Roy
Roy s Adaptation Model The Adaptation Model, developed by sister Callista Roy, is a grand
nursing theory that has been influential in developing research, education, nursing practice, and
mid range theories; including her own: cognitive processing and empirical work, for over 50
years. The work has been translated into multiple languages, and used by theorists throughout
the world as a basis for model based knowledge to advance nursing practice; as well as advancing
the theory itself. Roy is known for continually updating the Adaptation Model; acknowledging
that her best work is yet to come; yet, will most likely be accomplished by one of her students
(Smith Parker, 2015, p. 153). This paper will discuss Roy s background, and her influences to
developing the Adaptation Model; describe the model s concepts; identify assumptions and
examine the metaparadigms; and finally, describe how this theory has advanced nursing
practice, and will guide my practice as a Nurse Practitioner. Introduction to the Theorist Sister
Callista Roy was born in 1939, the oldest daughter of seven boys and seven girls in Los Angeles,
California (Smith Parker, 2015). Roy has had a lengthy and accomplished academic career,

The Social Aspects of Prejudice
The Social Aspects of Prejudice Since the beginning of time humans unknowingly, have placed
themselves in social classes. These social classes account for the many stereotypical type who
have been plagued in different groups. It is something many cannot help, but we all have our
own thoughts and perceptions. Whether they are rich or poor, a man or a woman holding the
many different beliefs of religion, they still are prone to prejudice. Prejudice is a favorable
option or feeling formed beforehand or without knowledge, thought or reason. Social
psychological theories known as Culture Theory and Group Closure, have best accounted for
one my prejudice and the factors that helped me to realize and to overcome this prejudice. For
instance one day I was on Craigslist applying for jobs because soon I would be graduating soon and
I wanted to have a job already in my field of study. While applying, I received an email from
AMAC, a school for special needs children. In the email, I was notified to come in on a specific
date and time with a copy of my resume. I replied and proceeded to go into the interview a few
days prior to the email. At the interview, I was given a description of the job and the policies of
the company. The description was vague and basically said I would be a group counselor working

Abolish The Death Penalty Should Not Be Abolished
Wiggins Amanda
Professor Laudani
Composition 1
09 July 2015
Abolish the Death Penalty Since the state has no power to give life, it should not exercise its
power to take a life either. After all, the judicial system is not a fool proof system. The risk of
putting an innocent human being to death by capital punishment, cannot be ruled out. The only
purpose it serves is retribution or revenge. Therefore, the death penalty must be abolished. The
death penalty is prone to errors that may have led to the execution of wrongfully convicted people.
There have been 330 post conviction DNA exonerations here in the U.S (Innocence Project).
The Supreme Court should bring the United States in line with the rest of the world and hold that
death is a cruel and unusual punishment prohibited by the Eighth Amendment. The death penalty
process consumes tremendous amounts of money and resources and fails to deter murders.
The average cost to put someone to death is 1.1 million dollars that Americans are paying for
(Huddar, Buzzle). That money can be used for a lot more things, such as, helping homeless
veterans, who served our country, or children who live in poverty right here in America. It is used
in an often arbitrary and racist manner. In a study commissioned by the governor of Maryland,
defendants who kill white victims were more likely to be sentenced to death than those who killed
a black (McElwee, Huffington Post) Not only does the death penalty

North American Free Trade Agreement
North American Free Trade Agreement
The North American Free Trade Agreement is a regulation between Mexico, Canada, and the
United States which eliminates most tariffs on trade among them. This agreement was
implemented January 1, 1994 with the purpose to encourage economic activity among the member
countries. At the time, it established the largest free trade region in the world and included the
elimination of tariffs, agreements on trades in services, and a dispute settlement mechanism for
trade disagreements. NAFTA was highly controversial at the time, with many Canadian and
American labor leaders expressing concern that many manufacturing jobs would be relocated to

In 1993 the average GDP growth rate for Canada was 2.6% and in 1994 it was 4.6%, a 2%

States expanded by 250%. But Canada did struggle to reduce high unemployment rates 9%
throughout most of the 1990s. Canada did not experience a significant loss in labor jobs during
this period, but the Canadian dollar was at historic low levels in relation to the US dollar, which
helped to make Canadian goods competitive on the world market. NAFTA has clearly been a
benefit to Canada s economy and continues to have a noticeable effect to this very day.
The Mexican Peso Crisis
The Mexican Peso Crisis in December 1994 was a currency crisis that was sparked by the Mexican
government s devaluation of the peso against the U.S. dollar. In 1994, the government started
expansionary fiscal and monetary policy in an attempt to attract more foreign investment dollars
into Mexico. It used an odd form of government debt to attract investment. The government issued
short term debt in the local currency, peso, but promised to repay the debt in US dollars. Basically,
the government was gambling that the peso would remain strong or even strengthen against the US
dollar so the government s debt would be reduced. I think the logic was that the government

The Changing Patterns Of Education And Youth Labor Market
There are countless reasons that help to explain the growing number of people delaying marriage.
Between 1976 and 2011the median age of first marriage increased by six years for men and seven
years for women, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics. There is little doubt that the
experiences of young people making the transition into adulthood are quite different now than they
were 20 years ago. Many of these changes are direct results of labormarket restructuring, workplace
reorganizations, and changing educational demand (Lehmann 2004, 380). The changing patterns of
educationand youthlabor market also accounts for this increase. Changes to the economy and the
skills necessary to enter the labor force have changed not only the patterns of education but also the
trajectories of young adults during and after education. This transition is increasingly difficult to
navigate and denotes the greater evolution of society. Dwyer and Wyn (2001) suggest that, As
young people responded to these changing social conditions, new patterns of transition and new
relationships between education and the labour market for young people emerged (Stokes and Wyn
2007, 496). Over the last three decades, extensive technological advances have called for an
increasingly educated population. The manufacturing industry that sprung from industrial era
introduced new systems in commerce, manufacturing, and other industries, which placed great

It s Time To End Poverty In The United States
Throughout years poverty has been an ongoing situation that has only been increasing throughout

those efforts have failed to succeed. Increased dependency is the only long term impact that
government efforts have had on poverty. By solving poverty the government could make the
economy grow more for everyone , because many people would be going back into the workforce.
The government has a responsibility to end poverty through providing education, better programs,

Their are some drawbacks to ending poverty; If the government were to end poverty in the united
states it would take a lot of time and money. Their would also be many arguments over the topic
between wealthy people and poor people because the wealthier people would not benefit from it.
Which would eventually lead to a communism because if they were to solve poverty throughout
the united states there would have to be a tax implemented for it. Which is where the argument
would lead to; the tax that the people would have to pay. There would also be arguments over
blaming the poor because people against the situation would make the argument of it being the
individual s fault for putting themselves in a position like the one they are in. Overall solving
poverty has its pros and cons. Its pros would be that it would give many people a better life and

Summary Of A Very Lucky Daughter By Skrzynecki
How has your understanding of belong been shaped by your study of Skrzynecki s poem and the
related text of your choosing?
Our sense of belonging is not only sculpted by our own experiences through what we encounter,
but also the experiences of others. By reading and analyzing the authentic experiences Peter
Skrzynecki and Sharon Liao wrote about I was able to refine my perception and collective
knowledge of belonging and what it entails.
My study of Migrant Hostels , Feliks Skrzynecki and A Very Lucky Daughter the two composers

belonging in the respective hearts of both first and second generation migrants, capturing the

Character Analysis Of Officer Williams Regalia In Shirley...
The first thing that Jackson ever cared for in his life was to get back his grandmother s regalia
which was stolen years ago as he does feel that Its been a long time since I really cared about
something. (24) Moreover that was the only thing, which actually made him feel connected to his
background and family.
He plans to win it back for his grandmother, where he talks about his mission to officer Williams:
I m on a mission here. I want to be a hero, you know? I want to win it back, like a knight. (24)

The First Attribute Of An Effective Teacher
The first attribute of an effective teacher is awareness. Teachers have to see that each child has a
specific thing they will need. As we learned in class sometimes a band aid doesn t cover it. In
middle school I had a drama teacher who was incredible. Towards the end of the school year I
was called the office for something. I was almost suspended for something I did not do. When I
came back to class she could tell I was visibly upset. She did not give a band aid, she gave me
hug. She took me out into the hall and ask me what happened. I explained the situation and she
believed because she was aware of my behavior in her class and elsewhere. In that moment though I
had no special educational needshe was aware that I needed a hug, some tissues and a break for
class that day.
The second attribute of an effective teacher is respect. The important thing about this, is that to
create a culture of learning the students and teachers must respect each other. The teacher has to
understand each home culture. The culture of the student practices at home whether that be similar
to their own or different. Each child has a different way of interacting with adults. In some cultures,
such as Chinese culture, looking down and not making eye contact actually means respect for
elders. In Deaf culture you don t beat around the bush, if you have something to say just say it.
Growing up it was normal for my family to talk with their hands, not sign language but using
gestures and

Georgian Style In Colonial America
Georgian Design and the Beginnings of America The American Georgian style ruled American
design from about 1714 to 1830. The Georgian style was inspired by English and European styles
of the time, relied on classical elements, and took inspiration from the Italian Renaissance.
Georgian design was located mainly along the eastern seaboard, where the old styles gradually
gave way to the Georgian, and there came for the first time a large degree of uniformity to
American architecture(Wertenbaker, 1943, p. 66). Craftsmanship was a big part of early American
life, and people liked to show off their quality homes, eventually displaying their stations by
maintaining codes of dress, speech, and behavior (Architectural StyleGuide). Georgian American
design had many different influences while adapting to suit the settlers needs. There are several
beautiful examples of this style still intact today. While the Georgian American style was one of
the earliest styles in Colonial America, it actually preceded by a simpler style, and... Show more

Throughout the years, tensions started growing between colonists and English soldiers. At the
same time, the French and Indian war waged on between England and the people occupying
modern day Canada. The loss of the French and Indian war meant that England had spent a lot of
money that they now needed to salvage. As a result, King George III started taxing the colonists;
he also used the taxes to try to regain control that he had lost (The Boston Tea Party). There were
several different taxes imposed, but the attempt to tax tea was the last straw. The result was the
Boston Tea Party (1773). This was one of the acts that lead to the start of the American
Revolutionary War. The war started in 1775 and continued through 1783. The fight between
America and England was rough; the American soldiers didn t have much and were greatly

JetBlue Airways: Managing Growth
The JetBlue case gives students the opportunity to apply concepts in cost leadership. At the time of
the case, JetBlue has enjoyed a meteoric rise to success in the airline industry by coupling a low
cost strategy while giving customers the sense that they are actually providing better features to
their service (e.g. leather seats, satellite TV).
Study and Preparation Questions:
1. What is your assessment of the attractiveness of the airline industry?
2. Choose two routes that JetBlue flies. (Compare their fares versus competitors that fly the same
route.) Internet sites such as Expedia or Orbitz should make this go quickly.
3. Do a thorough analysis of the costs of JetBlue and its competitors. How does JetBlue compare to
its leading competitors on costs? What factors drive cost differences in the industry?
4. What is your assessment of the E190 decision?
5. What recommendations would you make to JetBlue on how to allocate their aircraft purchases
between the E190 and the A320? Defend your recommendations.
6. What lessons can we draw from this case about the challenges of pursuing a cost leadership
strategy?

Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys
Rochester and Antoinette are two characters that are both outsiders of their respective
communities. Antoinette is excluded from both the white and black communities, and eventually
it leads to her instability and uneasiness throughout the novel. While being excluded from the
community isn t dreadful enough, she suffers being called a white cockroach (23) and becoming
an aberration through her own husband s eyes, Rochester. Moreover, Rochester is ignored by his
own family. His isolation stems from the letter he sends to his father, stating that I will never be a
disgrace to you or my dear brother the son you love (70). His bitterness implies that his father
favors his brother much more than he favors Rochester. He is also separated from the black
population, as he tells Antoinette that he would never hug and kiss [a black person] (91). His
haughty behavior eventually confines him from the population on the island. Ultimately, Antoinette
s and Rochester s struggles pushes these characters to a new extreme in which it pushes Rochester
to lock his wife in the attic and Antoinette to write [her] name in fire red (53) by the end of the novel
.
Throughout Wide Sargasso Sea, Jean Rhys magnifies the themes of madness and power by
analyzing Rochester s and Antoinette s interactions with one another to ultimately teach a lesson
that can be interpreted in many different ways. Their downfalls are created by the catastrophic
conflicts with each other and the environment around

Article V, Vii, And Viii Of The Augsburg Confession
Article V, VII, and VIII of the Augsburg Confession Article V states that through the ministry of
teaching the gospel and administering the sacraments, believers can obtain the concept of
justification. As article V states, For through the Word and the Sacraments as through
instruments the Holy Spirit is given, who effects faith where and when it pleases God in those
who hear the Gospel, that is to say, in those who hear that God, not on account of our own merits
but on account of Christ, justifies those who believe that they are received into grace on account
of Christ (AC V: 2,3; Kolb and Wengert: 41), it teaches that justification is given to those who
hear the gospel. This is a missiological implication to the ministry of the church, so people can
hear the gospel and they can be received into grace on account of Christ. Hartenstein argues that
article V, VII, and VIII of the Augsburg Confession are inseparably connected in order to answer
how missionary service should be conducted. His first argument refers to the words of preaching
and sees that article V suggests on how the proclamation of the words depends on the office of the
church. As he notes, The proclamation of the mighty message, which occurs between heaven and
earth, is about creation and redemption and completion of the world and can only be carried out
by those who have been especially assigned to such a task, who have totally committed themselves
to God, and who are prepared to proclaim on behalf of

The Black Man and Langston Hughes
The term identity is defined by Webster s dictionary as being the state or fact of remaining the
same one or ones, as under varying aspects or conditions however in exploring the concept of
Identity in black literature, we can find no definite explanation or definition. We can try to accept
that it has been rooted in social situations that are generally more discriminatory, such the institution
of slavery. In some way shape or form, the average or normal African Americanis confronted with
the question of where do I fit in amongst the white society? The problem with African American

The whites don t permit the political freedom to the blacks. Blacks are deprived of their basic
necessities of life. They don t have a proper place to live in. Their miserable condition is shown in
the poem Vagabond
Who have nowhere
To eat.
No place to sleep,
The tearless
Who cannot
Weep.
In this the blacks are alien on their own land. The blacks want a chance to eek out a decent living
and have equal rights across America. Langston Hughes says undemocratic doings take place in
the shadow of the world s greatest democracy The blacks have no right to participate in the
political affairs. Langston Hughes poetry is also preoccupied with the social problems faced by
the blacks. Man is called a social animal. Blacks are not given the equal place in the society. The
poet shows this inequality in the poem Merry Go Round the social whites have no sympathy even
for a young black child. He has to sit in a segregated section. Hughes writes:
Colored child at carnival:
Where is the Jim Crowe section
On this merry go round,
Mister, cause I want to ride?
Down South where I come from
White and colored
Can t sit side by side.
Thus the merry go round is a metaphor for America. It is a kind of Satire on the American Society
which we know as a free Society. A clear picture of the exploitation of the blacks is presented that
cultural, social, and psychological space has been denied to them. Hughes never forgetting the
images he has seen growing

Community, Identity, And Stability
Community, Identity, and Stability is a large element of a functional society. The choice between
feelings and emotional attachments both have pros and cons, both work but may have backfires
as well. Sacrificing emotional attachments will not be a beneficial sacrifice because everybody
would be limited and restricted power, and nobody will be able to think for themselves or have any
likes or dislikes. If they would sacrifice emotionnobody would be able to advance in the society,
where normally oneВґs interest bring more knowledge to share to others. When all sense of
feelings are taken away it will be easy for one person to take advantage of others if given the
opportunity. These points make a strong edge with evidence to make a perfect argument.

Growing Rate Of Incoming Streaming Data Essay
1.4.5 SCALABILITY
Growing rate of incoming streaming data is indefinite. Even though the arrival rate of update
transactions are not predefined, system processor has to adapt the stream data flow as it grows
continuously. Adaptive Stream Query Processor is designed and implemented to execute
continuous queries and to adapt indefinite data flow by clustering, proper indexing so as to reduce
the storage space and fast retrieval of streaming data.
STREAM PROCESSOR
Streaming processing is the ideal platform to process data streams. Stream processing is designed to
analyze and act on real time streaming data, using continuous queries i.e. SQL type queries that
operate over time and buffer windows. Essential to stream analytics is Stream Processing, or the
ability to continuously calculate mathematical or statistical analytics on the fly within the stream.
Stream processing solutions are designed to handle high volume in real time with a scalable, highly
available and fault tolerant architecture. This enables analysis of data in motion. Finally query
processing is used to retrieve useful information from the stream data.
A Stream Query Processor is proposed to achieve fast retrieval of streaming data. Stream Query
Processor architecture is represented in Fig. 1.2. volume Figure 1.2 Stream Processor Input data are

Increasing Gun Control Legislation
A/intro?In 2000, nearly 30,000 people died due to uncontrollable gun violence, even though the US
has many gun laws. Gun control is now one of the main political issues because of all the shootings
in the past decade. There have been many studies taken on gun control, which shows more gun
control decreases deaths with a gun involved.
BThe Second Amendment in our constitution, is one that is commonly mistaken. The Second
Amendment does not state that a single citizen has the right to protect themselves with a gun. Most
people do not know the text actually says, A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security
of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All that should happen is certain types of guns shouldn t be accessible to the public. For
example, a war zone gun like an M 16 should not be available to the general public because it is
not used to hunt and is not a reasonable gun to carry simply to bare arms. Gun control would
also put more restrictions on who can purchase a gun, because some people are not in the right
state of mind to own a gun. Manufacturers might also be required to make all guns child proof. It
s simple, if guns are available to everyone and anyone, gun violence will not be taken as seriously
as it should be. Also, while more gun legislation is needed, the already existing gun laws on the
state and national levels need to be strictly enforced. For example, it is a national law that in order
to purchase a gun, a background check is required, but not all states enforce this law properly.
ConclusionThere are currently over 200 million guns in use, which means obtaining a gun in the
United States mustn t be that hard. If gun usage could be regulated more by banning certain
unneeded weapons to the public and requiring a more in depth background check, than miss usage
of guns, and deaths caused by them would decrease. However, already existing laws need to be
enforced and harsher penalties for those who don t follow the laws. If the country would agree on
certain legislation for gun control, than The United States could be a much safer

Harvey is given credit for being the first to accurately describe the entire circuit, including arteries
and veins, of where the blood starts in the circulation process and where it ends as a result of heart

that depicted the Sun and not the Earth at the center of the universe. He described the Earth
revolving around the sun which was in contrast to earlier thinking that suggested the sun revolved
around the Earth (heliocentric theory). This revelation of thought started a change in the way the
world was viewed. Maybe the Earth was not the center of everything and maybe there was more out
there that could be learned in order to scientifically understand the world (Scientific revolution).
Johannes Kepler followed in the footsteps of Copernicus. He too believed that the sun was the

Consumer Behavior And Consumer Behaviour
Introduction
A consumer is any person that is involved in the process of consumption. They are identified
according to the market type to which they belong, namely final and industrial consumers
(Solomon, et al., 2013). Understanding the consumer behaviors will aid in appreciating the various
market segments and developing strategies for effecting market penetration in these segments. It
will also help in identifying market gaps and shape their needs and objectives so as to solve the
day to day consumer s concerns in purchase.
The single purpose of all production is consumption. The producer s interest should only be
attended to as far as it is necessary in promoting the needs of a consumer (Smith, 1937 p. 125).
Studies on consumer behavior began in the 1960s, and later several consumer theories which
focused on the consumer from various perspectives were developed. Marketers use these theories to
deveop marketing strategies based on attitudes, interests and consumer perception.
Consumer behavior theories All major consumer theories can be grouped into four categories,
namely economic, psychological, psycho analytical, and socio cultural theories. They are based on
the simple law of conumption that consumption increases as aggregate income increases, assuming
the habits of spending are constant and political and economic conditions are free and perfect
(Solomon, et al., 2013).
Economic theories Economic theories on consumption are focused on how income is allocated and

In the play of Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, Macbeth is confronted by Three Witches and his
wife, Lady Macbeth. It was said that the Three Witches could speak of the future and his wife knew
of this and thought of it as truth so, she influenced her husband to make them true. With the help of

The Problem Of Racial Profiling
Twists of Humanity
Has one ever sit down and thought about the use of racial profiling in our country today? Many
individuals have a role in racial profiling and do not realize it. Racial profiling is using one s race
or ethnicity against them as a foundation of suspecting someone to committing an offense of
some sort. For example, racial profilers could say that Pit Bulls are more likely to bite than any
other breeds of dogs, and to keep this from happening, all Pit Bulls should be euthanized. Of
course, like all breeds of dogs, some Pit Bulls may bite, but not all of them deserve the punishment
of being euthanized. The main problem with racial profiling is that innocent individuals are targeted
due to past cases with their race. This leads to 36 year old Shoshana Hebshi, who is half Jewish and
half Arab. She was targeted on a plane in Detroit due to her race. Although Shoshana Hebshi was
targeted through racial profiling, the use of iron triangles saved Shoshana from unlawful
accusations.
On September 11, 2011, Shoshana Hebshi was travelling on the Frontier Airlines that landed in
Detroit when her and two Indian American men were targeted by federal agents who entered the
plane and demanded them to exit. Shoshana was handcuffed, pushed down steps, and into a
vehicle (Warikoo, 2013). Shoshana was later retained in a cell, ordered to strip bare, squat, and
cough while the officers checked her over (Warikoo, 2013). Hebshi stated, I was frightened and
humiliated (Warikoo,

How Did The Renaissance Contribute To The Development Of...
Medicine has become so advanced in the previous centuries that it is a wonder how the medical
discoveries of today have been fueled by those made during the Renaissance. As the mindset of
those living in Europe during that time changed from religion to self discovery, medical research
began to expand and grow to a more scientific approach. Though several were unable to read, they
became more aware of themselves and humanity compared to their earlier religious views on life,
causing them to take a closer look at the human anatomy. During the English Renaissance,
physicians began to advance the scientific study of medicineleading to the development of modern
medical practices, and making a more profound impact than previous eras.

The citizens of today are living well beyond their fifties, and some are even living past their
nineties. As more and more citizens began to discover different aspects of life, their approach to
medicine began to change as it neared the end of the Medieval Era.
Though the Church still controlled most hospitals, physicians began to research and experiment
with human anatomy. Before, dissections would be made using animals instead of humans. Soon
their practices were dispelled by a physician, Andreas Vesalius. Vesalius conducted his own
anatomical dissections on human cadavers and found that Galen s teaching [...] did not always
apply to humans (Shane 26). At the time, dissecting a human was against the word of God, to
do so would be unholy. The Church began to reconsider after Vesalius findings but they still did
not allow the dissection of God fearing bodies. Instead, they allowed for the use of criminal
bodies once they were executed, or even while they were still alive as a source of torture (
History of Medicine 2011). Though some may see the practice as inhumane, it opened up many
windows for physicians, giving them a chance to go against the Church but still being able to live
with the word of God.
During the early modern period, hospitals in Europe s urban centers [...] came under the control of
nonreligious groups[...] At the same time, more positive ideas of keeping a person s good health
and being cured of sickness suggested that illness was

Similarities Between 70 And 70
The 70 s v. 2017 Life in the 70 s was very different than it is today. When you compare the 1970s
to 2017 you can see the huge differences, and maybe some similarities. A lot has changed since
the 70 s, including the style, lifestyle, pop culture, and more. Since the 70 s a lot has changed, we
have changed in some ways and are similar in more ways than one. Here are the differences and
similarities between the 70 s and today, 2017. In the 70 s the first president of the decade was
Richard Nixon, he was the 37th president and was in office 1969 1974. Eventually Gerald Fordheld
office after Nixon resigned to avoid the eventual outcome of Watergate, which would have led to
impeachment. Jimmy Carter then served as president in years 1977 1981, with Walter Mondale
as vice president. Today in 2017 we have Donald Trump and Mike Pence, and people are begging
for Trump to be impeached, similar to Nixon. Though people do see impeachment in Trump s
future, but some do not. Another difference since the 70 s is the inflation of the dollar. A dollar
in 1970 is worth $6.30 today, which is a 530.0% increase. A dollar in 1979 is worth $3.37, which is
a 237% increase. When comparing the 70 s to today it is always best to compare the cost of
living. In 1970 minimum wage was $1.60, today in New Mexico minimum wage is now $9.25. A
year of tuition at a public college was about $1,200 in the 70 s, according to the college board, the
average student payed about $9,650 for tuition. In January of

Summary Of Iris Chang s The Rape Of Nanking
Seventy nine years ago an estimated of more than 300,000 men, women, and children were
inhumanely controlled through the brute strength of an unannounced military raid. This led to the
incomputable amount of monstrosities committed by man to fellow man. Leading up this dark
moment in history was a major conflict between the Republic of Chinaand the Empire of Japan,
which was sparked by the illustrious desire of natural resources by the Japanese government. From
here the Japanese slowly encroached into the Chinese land taking everything they once loved, and
eventually making it to the heart of China; Nanking. Throughout a short and brutal six week period
the Japanese ravaged and destroyed the capital of Nanking, China as a part of the Second... Show

Beyond this they forced many Chinese natives to commit horrible inhumane acts, such as public
incestous displays, burning each other alive as entertainment, self torture, and the humiliation of
loved ones, especially regarding the paterfamilia, beheading, public humiliations, and more
ruthless acts. ( Massacre and Memory, History and Humanity:. A Discussion on Iris Chang s
The Rape of Nanking. N.p., n.d. Web. 10 Apr. 2016.) All of these and more were commonplace
for the city of Nanking as it slowly crumbled from a city of life and knowledge to a perfectly
painted replication of the possible evils committed by man. All this was lead by the Japanese
emperor Konoe Fumimaro whom tried multiple times to stop the conflicts prior to Nanking
Massacre. As he stated, He declared that he sought to realize social and international righteousness
and to alleviate internal friction and discord. , (Hayashi, Shigeru. Konoe Fumimaro. Encyclopedia
Britannica Online. Encyclopedia Britannica, n.d. Web. 14 Mar. 2016.) but shortly into his
campaign of peace his cabinet fell, along with his wanted treaties and visions of the end of conflict.
This didn t fall through because at the time the cabinets in which he wanted to acquire were plagued
with separations and state affairs.

Act Reflection
One struggle I had with the ACT was managing my time. I wanted to get all I could out of every
problem to answer it as best I could. That was hard to do with a fixed amount of time. The
mathematics portion of the ACT was also a challenge for me. There were a lot of formulas that I
had to memorize and know when and how to use them. Before I took the ACT I did take an ACT
prep class that was run by my high school, which gave me tips and tricks on how to do better with
each section. The extra preparation did help a little but I still struggled with time management and
math.
Academically my strengths are science, history, psychology, and sociology. I always find the study

Infatuation In Hurstwood s Sister Carrie
In the opening of Sister Carrie, Carrie is boarding a train from her small town, Columbia City, to
Chicago. Sister Carrie is set in the late Nineteenth century, and Carrie is moving to Chicago
following the economic boom that succeed the Civil War after Reconstruction. Chicago was one of
the largest American cities at that point, and Carriejoined the massive queue of wage earners
searching for factory work in large cities. While she is searching for work there are constant
references to Carrie s infatuation with material items. A huge theme in Sister Carrieis the obsession
with material items. In the beginning of the story, when Carrie is earning just four and a half

This appears to be the beginning of Carrie s ambition to become wealthy while not relying
another individual for money. Throughout the book, Carrie can never seem to stay loyal to an
individual or group of people. She originally stays with her sister in Chicago, but after she
decides that her low wage job and experiences with her sister are not enough to satisfy her, she
runs off to be Drouet s mistress. She lives comfortably with Drouet for awhile, however when
she is introduced to George Hurstwood, she begins to believe that the life she is currently living
is very modest and bland. She soon partakes in a love affair with Hurstwood, unaware that he is a
married man. When Drouet refuses to endulge Carrie s expenditures he leaves her and allows her
to keep the apartment, again showing that Carrie has little devotion to people. Although she did
not leave Drouet, her actions and lack of desire to keep their relationship going exacerbates the
couples many problems and leads to their eventual demise. After a brief stint in Montreal the
newly married couple moves to New York. In New York Carrie realizes that Hurstwood is running

Strengths And Weaknesses Of The Spanish Civil War
The twentieth century saw more proxy wars than any time in human history; great powers would
flex their martial muscles in smaller theatres of conflict in order to test their own strengths and
weaknesses without risking their international reputation as an aggressive nation. The Spanish Civil
War served as a significant proxy for the totalitarian European powers in the interwar period;
Fascist Italy and Nazi Germanywould support the right wing nationalists while the Soviet Union
and various International Brigades would back the alliance of the Republican government and
Anarcho communist organizations. Spainwould serve as a testing ground for the armed forces of
the European totalitarian states in which major military and ideological support would be given to
the Spanish belligerents. In spite of initial setbacks in the initial military coup, Francisco Franco
would eventually crush the Republican Anarchist opposition and maintain authoritarian control of
Spain for decades. His success was due in large part to the interests of Hitler and Mussolini in
creating a friendly state in the Iberian Peninsula. Through contributions of manpower, military
advisors and materiel from the Nazis and Fascists, Nationalist Spain was able to take advantage of
the less organized and squabbling Republican government forces. La Guerra Civil was the
culmination of a century of turmoil in Spain. The Spanish monarchy would be abolished in 18XX,
with its Savoyard King famously declaring the

Elephant and Rhino Comparison
The white rhinoceros and the Asian elephant possess many similar characteristics, including the
way they look, yet also possess many differences such as the two continents they live on. There are
five living species of rhino (black, white, Indian, Javan and Sumatran) and only two of the elephant
(African and the Asian). All are in jeopardy of extinction with their slow rate of breeding, poaching
and in the rhinoceroses, their territorial behavior.
Both of these beasts belong to the same kingdom (Animalia), phylum (Chordata), sub phylum

Unspun Advert Analysis
The first technique from the book, Unspun that appears in the following add is eye candy. The
example shown in the add is the image of a nice convertible car in very close proximity to the
sun. This is an example of eye candy because it demonstrates how the advertisers are using the
picture to detract the audience away from what the actual meaning of the advertisement is. If you
look into the details the product is actually for protecting against the suns harmful rays. The
advertisers used an extreme exaggeration of a giant flaming ball of fire very close to the car to
make it appear to the audience that if you use this product your car can survive the toughest
conditions. In reality the product only stands up to a very minimal amount of sun

The Country Is Peaceful And The Population
Somaliland
Somaliland introduced its secession in 1991 and has operated as a less independent country since
then; it has its own Government system and constitution. It even has a central bank that prints its
own currency called Somaliland shilling. The country is peaceful and the population is about three
million and most of the population is Muslim. The world, however, has refused to recognize
Somaliland as an independent country. Not wanting to encourage numerous other separatist
movements, Western countries remained dedicated to supporting the embattled Transitional
Federal Government within Somalia, which opposes the separation.

The western countries currently have no trade agreements with Somaliland, ant it s not a member
of the World Trade Organization. Added to the difficulties local Somaliland businesses face when
competing regionally and globally. According to data from the European Commission s
Directorate General for Trade In 2011, Somaliland exported goods worth nearly $300 million.
While the figures are significantly higher than the 2008 exports, which were less than half of that
number, but still the country runs a large trade deficit due to the lack of independent. It s too
obvious that Somaliland exports less than other countries because number one is an unrecognized
country and number two Somaliland didn t get international aid from the world bank or the
western countries. So of course Somaliland GDP is very low due to those reasons I mentioned at
the top. Somaliland biggest export market is to the United Arab Emirates, which takes in more than
50% of total exports. Just three countries United Arab Emirates, Yemen and Oman account for 82.5
percent of all exports, mostly in livestock, and about 11.7 percent Somaliland exports to Ethiopia
which is the closest friend that Somaliland has in Africa. Regional partners often impose strict
restrictions on Somaliland, mainly out of security fears because Somaliland is still part of Somalia,
which is the unsecure nation in the world, said Hassan Noor, CEO of Hanvard Africa, a consulting

Being a Canadian is a blessing. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity that garners protection against
low wages, provides a platform propelling diversified learning environments and functions under a
democratic government system operating for the common good. Adopting a pretentious
framework, being able to acknowledge Canadian identity within the following context is the actual
blessing. Canadian identity itself is submerged within an array of events, individuals and time

The manner, in which these labourers were treated, goes beyond the authentic ideologies of binding
a nation and coincides with those of initiating the doctrine of separation instead. With British
Columbia having agreed to join Confederation under the condition that a railway be built within
ten years, an adequate labour supply was essential to the fulfilment of the obligation. Though the
politicians and electorate were in favour of immigration from the British Isles, Sir John A.
MacDonald approached a new line of thought. The Prime Minister contended upon the use of
Chinese labour to minimize costs for the project, initiating the first paramount of inequality and
exclusion. It is simply a question of alternatives: either you must have this labour or you can t
have the railway. Accordingly, over 17,000 Chinese labourers migrated to Canada between 1881
and 1884 to aid in the development of Canada s newfound project. Having arrived in the hopes of a
well nourished future, a large mass of these labourers encountered an inimical reception within
British Columbia instead. Although the late 1850s period of the Gold Rush had already passed, the
Chinese population was widespread in the region; nonetheless, racism against Chinese individuals
remained expansively eminent. They [Chinese] were favoured over Caucasians in terms of

The Communist Manifesto By Karl Marx And Friedrich Engels
The Communist Manifesto was written by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels to begin explaining
Communism and its goals. The Manifesto suggests that history acts according to what is called
class struggle. The means of production are what truly defines the class relationships according
to Marx and Engels (Marx 2002). Inevitably, the classes conflict and become hostile, no longer
moving fluidly (Spalding 2000). The Manifesto states that this conflict becomes so severe that it
eventually becomes a revolution and one of the classes becomes the ruler of the other, keeping
one oppressed while the other flourishes. These two classes by name are the bourgeoisie and the
proletariat (Marx ch.2 2002). The bourgeoisie being the highly upper class and the proletariat
being everyone else or the working class . It is important to note that Karl Marxwas a member of the
bourgeoisie himself. He had the ability to recognize the partiality given to the upper class and the
repercussions of this act (Marx 2002).
According to this manifesto, the dynamic between the two has shaped the way society has
industry where its values originate. Before this, it was traditionally so that society was
organized into more complex hierarchies (Spalding 2000). But, as a result of the French
Revolution, feudalism was replaced by this newer sense of class order. Instead of having a variety
of classes such as nobles, artisans, royalty etc., there were now simply two. There was now a
severe demand for more

Brother Death
Control has many different meanings for many different people. To most, however, this word
brings to mind one person forcing another do his or her will, but other things have control over
people as well. Sherwood Anderson shows two examples of control in Don and Ted. These two
characters have problems created by their difficult lives. The other characters personalities either
help or hinder the children, creating a family with a constant conflict until one of the characters
either changes, or disappears from the story all together.

She describes what they look like and even gives a little background on them so the reader can
get a better idea of their personalities. Ted changes once during the story, with the help of his
sister, Mary. Before this change occurred, the family always made him upset by never letting
him do the things that he wants to do. They constantly watched him and told him to be careful,
not letting him run or play. Mary, seeing the injustice of this, decided to do something about it.
One day, when Ted and Mary got back from swimming in the creek, Louise, their mother, told
Ted he mustn t. The rest of her sentence left unsaid, but nonetheless clearly understood. He
mustn t do all the dangerous things he does. While Ted left out of anger, Mary stayed her ground
and argued for her brother, telling Louise she should stop reminding Ted of his illness and leave
him alone to do as he pleased. Her argument took Louise by surprise so much that she decides, to
Ted s great joy, to give the children their freedom. When he dies at the end of the story, Mary
feels he had a happy life. Don, in Mary s mind, had the hardest life of all.
The conflict between Don and his father John shows another way situations in life can have control
over someone. Anderson describes Don as almost an exact copy of his father in everything from his
personality to his looks. Anderson shows her readers using direct characterization a

  • 3. The Enigma Code Everyone has a passion, everyone has a purpose, but more importantly everyone has an impact. In the beginning of the 20th Century, there was a boy named Alan Turing who seemed like any other troublesome delinquent, but as he grew he became one of the most crucial tools for the British Military. Morten Tyldum directs, The Imitation Game, which is a piece of cinematography created to illustrate the period of time during WWII where the German use of the Enigma code, which is an encrypted form of communication, had not yet been solved. This mystery allowed Germans to communicate freely, without having to worry about other countries interfering.. The British force attempted to crack the code, but there were several obstacles that stood in their way that earned the enigma code, impossible to crack. The decryption of the Enigma code was such a daunting task primarily because there were millions upon millions of settings for the transmitting machine, and those attempting to understand had less than 24 hours to crack it, or else the cycle started over. The movie focuses primarily on the leader of the team that cracked the code, Alan Turing. It begins post World War II, in an effort to demonstrate how Turing s sexual orientation lead to his depression and suicide, as well as to highlight that the life a genius man who saved millions of lives was never congratulated by anyone other than those who were already close to him. As one would expect, Hollywood hyperbolized some of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Hanfu s Role In Modern Society As I mentioned before in the previous posts, comparing to the Japanese Kimono and Korea Hanbok, Chinese Hanfu has a much longer history. However, in the contemporary society, Hanfu is the one which has been ignored mostly. Except a small group of people who studied it, almost no one wear it in daily life or even important ceremonies or holidays. More than 81% of Chinese citizens even do not know about what it is. Of course, this pathetic result came with a reason. Ever since 1644, the whole China was transformed to Qing dynasty, which was ruled by Manchu, another nationality in China. However, I have already introduced before that Hanfu is the traditional clothing for the Han nationality. The King of Qing dynasty ordered to stop people from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Conquistadors Summary The reshaping of the New World began the moment Spaniards set foot on the continent. Those first conquistadors documented their encounters with native peoples, emphasizing their desire to convert these peoples to Christianity and away from their heathenistic rituals. The documents presented by Stuart B. Schwartz portray accounts from the perspectives of both the conquerors and the conquered. His work does not provide much in the way of personal interpretation but rather displays the documents so the reader can compare better both sides of the New World inhabitants. These documents present an opportunity to consider moments of heroism, greed, and despair born during the clashing of Spanish and Nahua cultures and challenge the way historians view such cultures and the interpretation of primary texts. Schwartz s goal, it would seem, is not to persuade readers of the accuracy of one source over another but rather to call attention to how personal interests, class and ethnic biases, and politics influence the interpretation of the conquering of the Aztec empire. Irene Silverblatt examines the new Spanish lands after Spaniards have established themselves in and amongst the native peoples. She describes the development of a modern world through the views of Spanish imperialism and argues that the Inquisition provides such evidence. Using church records, sermons, and missionary guides, Silverblatt examines how the modern world was build, experienced, and understood by the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Weight Gain And Obesity polycystic ovarian syndrome also contribute to weight gain and obesity, and as well as medications. Obesity affects every body system, especially cardiac disease is increased, as well as HTN, hypertriglyceridemia, and decreased HDL cholesterol. Remarkable weight gain increases the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, obstructive sleep apnea, gastric reflux, urinary incontinence, and gallbladder disease (Grossman Porth, 2014). Room 587 also struggles with HTN, sleep apnea, and gastric reflux. Her struggles with these comorbidities are caused by her morbid obesity, which led to metabolic syndrome. Limited mobility and increased joint problems are also the results of too much weight on the body. Also in women, obesity contribute to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Due to her obesity, she struggles with sleep apnea, which is a sleep disordered breathing (SDB), accompanied by daytime symptoms. Sleep apnea can be divided into two types, central sleep apnea and obstructive sleep apnea. Central sleep apnea is not common, and the cause is unknown. Central sleep apnea is often associated with Cheyne stokes breathing. Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is caused by upper airway obstruction and is mostly associated with snoring, disrupted sleep, excessive daytime sleepiness, and is the most common type disease (Grossman Porth, 2014). Room 587 has OSA, which is probably due to her obesity because sleep apnea is associated with obesity. Signs and symptoms of sleep apnea are loud snoring and labored breathing interrupted by periods of silence that are soon followed by apnea. Treatment of OSA is based on the severity of the condition. Behavior measures may be the only treatment necessary, such as weight loss, and proper bed positioning disease (Grossman Porth, 2014). Since Room 587 is not willing to make an effort to lose weight, then one can say that she will struggle with this condition for a long time. Another comorbidity that Room 587 has is a vascular disease, which is similar to PAD. Atherosclerosis is the main cause of PAD, which is mostly in the vessels of the lower extremities. The popliteal arteries are affected the most, and when lesions develop, then the tibial, peroneal, and pedal vessels can also be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. India and Pakistan Negotiations There have been numerous negotiations taken place between India and Pakistan since 1947. They have ranged from inconsequential issues such as Border Railway Crossing and Time Tables to highly disputatious ones like National Security interests including Nuclear Confidence building measures and to the highly infamous Kashmirissue. Before discussing the negotiations which occurred over the Kashmir issue, we need to know the origin of the Kashmir problem! A Walk into the History After the departure of the British Empire from the Indian Subcontinent, it led to the formation of two different countries India and Pakistan along religious lines (Hinduism and Islam). (Kux, 87) These two new dominions had around 650 states run by princes. Theoretically these states had the option of choosing either of the countries or remain independent. By remaining independent they would have let monarchy leap over democracy. These independent states were advised by the British Government to get associated with either of the two dominions keeping in view the geographical and other relevant considerations, for the sole purpose of securing their defence, foreign relations and other specified matters. One of these newly independent states was Kashmir, which according to its geographical positioning had the option of choosing either of the two dominions but there lied a problem which was, the ruler of Kashmir was a Hindu believer but the majority of the population in Kashmir was Muslim. • 9. Research On Cognitive Affective Processes Intersubjectivity refers to the shared understanding between individuals (GГ¶ncГј, 1993). Research shows cognitive affective processes help to develop intersubjectivity (Tronick Cohn, 1989). Similarly, in psychotherapeutic relationships, cognitive affective processes are the building blocks to the therapeutic alliance. A psychotherapeutic alliance constitutes the shared client psychotherapist relationship marked by mutual respect, caring and shared understanding of therapeutic goals. If intersubjectivityis nurtured in the client psychotherapist relationship, this can lead to increased mutual understanding and goal achievement (as defined by the client) in psychotherapy. In order to show that psychotherapeutic alliances can be fortified by applying intersubjectivity to psychotherapeutic relationships, this paper is divided into four parts. First the literature review opens with the origin and definition of intersubjectivity, including sections on communication, affect, prolepsis and zone of proximal development (ZPD). The second section will look at applications to psychotherapy. The third section will offer implications to the field and finally concluding remarks will close with societal shifts that must be made to foster intersubjectivity in psychotherapy. Defining Intersubjectivity Origin Mother infant interaction provides the starting point for intersubjectivity (Trevarthen, 1979). Research has shown that infants as young as 3 months can shift focus and visual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We immobilised lactase enzyme by dissolving it in sodium alginate gel. This is one of the more widely used practises in industry as it is very efficient and effective. We can see that by our experiment by immobilising the enzymeand could retain it even after it has been involved in the reaction by catalysing the breakdown of lactose in glucoseand galactose. Lactose was contained within the milk and as the milk met the immobilised lactase, it began to break down into glucose and galactose. The results show, as the lactose in the milk was left to the lactase for longer, the break down into glucose and galactose increased. This can be seen by the colour change. To begin with we tested the milk for glucose by dipping the clinistix before the treatment and the result was negative, showing that no glucose was present. Once the milk was exposed in the lactase enzyme for 5 minutes it had already begun to break down into glucose and galactose, the first test showed some signs of glucose as had turned from blue to light green. As the experiment progressed and the milk was left in the lactase enzyme for longer, more and more was broken down into glucose and galactose, this is evident by ... Abolish The Death Penalty Should Not Be Abolished Wiggins Amanda Professor Laudani Composition 1 09 July 2015 Abolish the Death Penalty Since the state has no power to give life, it should not exercise its power to take a life either. After all, the judicial system is not a fool proof system. The risk of putting an innocent human being to death by capital punishment, cannot be ruled out. The only purpose it serves is retribution or revenge. Therefore, the death penalty must be abolished. The death penalty is prone to errors that may have led to the execution of wrongfully convicted people. There have been 330 post conviction DNA exonerations here in the U.S (Innocence Project). The Supreme Court should bring the United States in line with the rest of the world and hold that death is a cruel and unusual punishment prohibited by the Eighth Amendment. The death penalty process consumes tremendous amounts of money and resources and fails to deter murders. The average cost to put someone to death is 1.1 million dollars that Americans are paying for (Huddar, Buzzle). That money can be used for a lot more things, such as, helping homeless veterans, who served our country, or children who live in poverty right here in America. • 19. The Changing Patterns Of Education And Youth Labor Market There are countless reasons that help to explain the growing number of people delaying marriage. Between 1976 and 2011the median age of first marriage increased by six years for men and seven years for women, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics. There is little doubt that the experiences of young people making the transition into adulthood are quite different now than they were 20 years ago. Many of these changes are direct results of labormarket restructuring, workplace reorganizations, and changing educational demand (Lehmann 2004, 380). The changing patterns of educationand youthlabor market also accounts for this increase. Changes to the economy and the skills necessary to enter the labor force have changed not only the patterns of education but also the trajectories of young adults during and after education. This transition is increasingly difficult to navigate and denotes the greater evolution of society. Dwyer and Wyn (2001) suggest that, As young people responded to these changing social conditions, new patterns of transition and new relationships between education and the labour market for young people emerged (Stokes and Wyn 2007, 496). • 23. The First Attribute Of An Effective Teacher The first attribute of an effective teacher is awareness. Teachers have to see that each child has a specific thing they will need. As we learned in class sometimes a band aid doesn t cover it. In middle school I had a drama teacher who was incredible. Towards the end of the school year I was called the office for something. I was almost suspended for something I did not do. When I came back to class she could tell I was visibly upset. She did not give a band aid, she gave me hug. She took me out into the hall and ask me what happened. I explained the situation and she believed because she was aware of my behavior in her class and elsewhere. In that moment though I had no special educational needshe was aware that I needed a hug, some tissues and a break for class that day. The second attribute of an effective teacher is respect. The important thing about this, is that to create a culture of learning the students and teachers must respect each other. The teacher has to understand each home culture. The culture of the student practices at home whether that be similar to their own or different. Each child has a different way of interacting with adults. In some cultures, such as Chinese culture, looking down and not making eye contact actually means respect for elders. The Georgian style was inspired by English and European styles of the time, relied on classical elements, and took inspiration from the Italian Renaissance. As article V states, For through the Word and the Sacraments as through instruments the Holy Spirit is given, who effects faith where and when it pleases God in those who hear the Gospel, that is to say, in those who hear that God, not on account of our own merits but on account of Christ, justifies those who believe that they are received into grace on account of Christ (AC V: 2,3; Kolb and Wengert: 41), it teaches that justification is given to those who hear the gospel. This is a missiological implication to the ministry of the church, so people can hear the gospel and they can be received into grace on account of Christ. Hartenstein argues that article V, VII, and VIII of the Augsburg Confession are inseparably connected in order to answer how missionary service should be conducted. His first argument refers to the words of preaching and sees that article V suggests on how the proclamation of the words depends on the office of the church. As he notes, The proclamation of the mighty message, which occurs between heaven and earth, is about creation and redemption and completion of the world and can only be carried out by those who have been especially assigned to such a task, who have totally committed themselves to God, and who are prepared to proclaim on behalf of ... In this the blacks are alien on their own land. The blacks want a chance to eek out a decent living and have equal rights across America. Langston Hughes says undemocratic doings take place in the shadow of the world s greatest democracy The blacks have no right to participate in the political affairs. Langston Hughes poetry is also preoccupied with the social problems faced by the blacks. Man is called a social animal. Blacks are not given the equal place in the society. The poet shows this inequality in the poem Merry Go Round the social whites have no sympathy even for a young black child. He has to sit in a segregated section. Hughes writes: Colored child at carnival: Where is the Jim Crowe section On this merry go round, Mister, cause I want to ride? Down South where I come from White and colored Can t sit side by side. Increasing Gun Control Legislation Kasha Sullivan 1 27 16 Increasing Gun Control Legislation A/intro?In 2000, nearly 30,000 people died due to uncontrollable gun violence, even though the US has many gun laws. Gun control is now one of the main political issues because of all the shootings in the past decade. There have been many studies taken on gun control, which shows more gun control decreases deaths with a gun involved. BThe Second Amendment in our constitution, is one that is commonly mistaken. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All that should happen is certain types of guns shouldn t be accessible to the public. For example, a war zone gun like an M 16 should not be available to the general public because it is not used to hunt and is not a reasonable gun to carry simply to bare arms. Gun control would also put more restrictions on who can purchase a gun, because some people are not in the right state of mind to own a gun. Manufacturers might also be required to make all guns child proof. It s simple, if guns are available to everyone and anyone, gun violence will not be taken as seriously as it should be. Also, while more gun legislation is needed, the already existing gun laws on the state and national levels need to be strictly enforced. For example, it is a national law that in order to purchase a gun, a background check is required, but not all states enforce this law properly. ConclusionThere are currently over 200 million guns in use, which means obtaining a gun in the United States mustn t be that hard. If gun usage could be regulated more by banning certain unneeded weapons to the public and requiring a more in depth background check, than miss usage of guns, and deaths caused by them would decrease. However, already existing laws need to be enforced and harsher penalties for those who don t follow the laws. They are identified according to the market type to which they belong, namely final and industrial consumers (Solomon, et al., 2013). Understanding the consumer behaviors will aid in appreciating the various market segments and developing strategies for effecting market penetration in these segments. It will also help in identifying market gaps and shape their needs and objectives so as to solve the day to day consumer s concerns in purchase. The single purpose of all production is consumption. The producer s interest should only be attended to as far as it is necessary in promoting the needs of a consumer (Smith, 1937 p. 125). Studies on consumer behavior began in the 1960s, and later several consumer theories which focused on the consumer from various perspectives were developed. Marketers use these theories to deveop marketing strategies based on attitudes, interests and consumer perception. Consumer behavior theories All major consumer theories can be grouped into four categories, namely economic, psychological, psycho analytical, and socio cultural theories. • 42. The Problem Of Racial Profiling Twists of Humanity Has one ever sit down and thought about the use of racial profiling in our country today? Many individuals have a role in racial profiling and do not realize it. Racial profiling is using one s race or ethnicity against them as a foundation of suspecting someone to committing an offense of some sort. For example, racial profilers could say that Pit Bulls are more likely to bite than any other breeds of dogs, and to keep this from happening, all Pit Bulls should be euthanized. Of course, like all breeds of dogs, some Pit Bulls may bite, but not all of them deserve the punishment of being euthanized. The main problem with racial profiling is that innocent individuals are targeted due to past cases with their race. This leads to 36 year old Shoshana Hebshi, who is half Jewish and half Arab. She was targeted on a plane in Detroit due to her race. Although Shoshana Hebshi was targeted through racial profiling, the use of iron triangles saved Shoshana from unlawful accusations. On September 11, 2011, Shoshana Hebshi was travelling on the Frontier Airlines that landed in Detroit when her and two Indian American men were targeted by federal agents who entered the plane and demanded them to exit. Soon their practices were dispelled by a physician, Andreas Vesalius. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity that garners protection against low wages, provides a platform propelling diversified learning environments and functions under a democratic government system operating for the common good. Adopting a pretentious framework, being able to acknowledge Canadian identity within the following context is the actual blessing. Canadian identity itself is submerged within an array of events, individuals and time periods that have significantly contributed to her development and fundamentally, idealization as a unified nation. Nevertheless, the idea of unity was not a matter of immediate occurrence; the journey to cultivating a unified nation was plagued by measures accentuating plurality.... The manner, in which these labourers were treated, goes beyond the authentic ideologies of binding a nation and coincides with those of initiating the doctrine of separation instead. With British Columbia having agreed to join Confederation under the condition that a railway be built within ten years, an adequate labour supply was essential to the fulfilment of the obligation. Though the politicians and electorate were in favour of immigration from the British Isles, Sir John A. MacDonald approached a new line of thought. The Prime Minister contended upon the use of Chinese labour to minimize costs for the project, initiating the first paramount of inequality and exclusion. It is simply a question of alternatives: either you must have this labour or you can t have the railway. Accordingly, over 17,000 Chinese labourers migrated to Canada between 1881 and 1884 to aid in the development of Canada s newfound project. • 56. The Communist Manifesto By Karl Marx And Friedrich Engels The Communist Manifesto was written by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels to begin explaining Communism and its goals. The Manifesto suggests that history acts according to what is called class struggle. The means of production are what truly defines the class relationships according to Marx and Engels (Marx 2002). Inevitably, the classes conflict and become hostile, no longer moving fluidly (Spalding 2000). The Manifesto states that this conflict becomes so severe that it eventually becomes a revolution and one of the classes becomes the ruler of the other, keeping one oppressed while the other flourishes. These two classes by name are the bourgeoisie and the proletariat (Marx ch.2 2002). The bourgeoisie being the highly upper class and the proletariat being everyone else or the working class . It is important to note that Karl Marxwas a member of the bourgeoisie himself. He had the ability to recognize the partiality given to the upper class and the repercussions of this act (Marx 2002). Before this, it was traditionally so that society was organized into more complex hierarchies (Spalding 2000). But, as a result of the French Revolution, feudalism was replaced by this newer sense of class order. Instead of having a variety of classes such as nobles, artisans, royalty etc., there were now simply two. There was now a severe demand for more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She describes what they look like and even gives a little background on them so the reader can get a better idea of their personalities. Ted changes once during the story, with the help of his sister, Mary. Before this change occurred, the family always made him upset by never letting him do the things that he wants to do. They constantly watched him and told him to be careful, not letting him run or play. Mary, seeing the injustice of this, decided to do something about it. One day, when Ted and Mary got back from swimming in the creek, Louise, their mother, told Ted he mustn t. The rest of her sentence left unsaid, but nonetheless clearly understood. He mustn t do all the dangerous things he does. While Ted left out of anger, Mary stayed her ground and argued for her brother, telling Louise she should stop reminding Ted of his illness and leave him alone to do as he pleased. Her argument took Louise by surprise so much that she decides, to Ted s great joy, to give the children their freedom. When he dies at the end of the story, Mary feels he had a happy life. Don, in Mary s mind, had the hardest life of all. The conflict between Don and his father John shows another way situations in life can have control over someone. Anderson describes Don as almost an exact copy of his father in everything from his personality to his looks. Anderson shows her readers using direct characterization a ...
