Spouse A Case Study
1)Recommended Tax Filing Status
Spouse A has varying sources of income and given the characteristics of his personal and
professional life, he can claim a number of deductions. Owing to the fact that Spouse A and
Spouse B have varying sources of income, Spouse A would most ideally file the IRS 1040 form
jointly with his wife s tax returns. This is because a joint tax return would give them access to a
host of deductions for which they are eligible. These include earned income tax credits, American
Opportunity and Lifetime Learning Education Tax Credits, and Child and Dependent Care Tax
Credit. Under joint filing, the couple could exclude the income of $500,000 from the sale of their
personal residence, while separate filing would only allow a $250,000 deduction.
2)Rules on Income
a)Taxable and Nontaxable Income
Child support that Spouse B receives is not taxable since it is not considered income. Any form of
child support is not taxable. Alimony that is paid out by spouse A is deductible since it is going to
be taxed on the recipient of the alimony as income (John Wiley Sons, 2013).
b)Short term and long term capital gains or losses
A capital gain or loss is considered on the sale or the returns from an asset. There are short term
capital gains or losses that amount from the sales of an asset which are owned for less ... Show more

The amount that is eligible for taxation is the difference between the buying price of the stock and
the selling price (Zelenak, 2013). Given there is a capital gain, the resulting gain is taxed while
a loss makes the applicant viable for a tax deduction. The capital gains or losses usually arise when
an individual has sold off an asset at a profit. A salient example is the sale of the rental house that
was sold for a profit of $44,000. There are limits to a capital loss that can be reported ($3,000)
given the capital losses surpass the capital

Suffragettes Movie Essay
An Analysis of the movie entitled, Suffragette
The year was 1912 in London, England. Women lived at the mercy of their fathers, brothers,
husbands and bosses; clearly a patriarchal society. Women s lives consisted of keeping house and
raising children and caring for their families. Those who worked outside of the home were limited
to menial labor, earned significantly less than men, and surrendered their earnings to their
husbands. Any inheritance of real estate or money a woman may have received was given to her
husband and, most often, she had nothing to say about how it was managed or spent. A woman
could not vote or run for office, and received little support, should she desire an education other
than a finishing school. (Clearly, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Women would demand the right to become solicitors, cabinet members, judges. (Morgan)
Inspired by actual events, this film is a story of the suffragette as told through the experiences of the
fictional character of Maud Watts (played by Carey Mulligan). Reluctant at first, Maud commits
herself to the suffrage cause when her husband throws her out of the house, she loses her job, and
her only child is put up for adoption. While there are many poignant scenes in this film, one was
when she told her son to remember her name and pleaded with him to look for her when he was
older.
The film shows the brutality experienced by Suffragettes as they were beaten and arrested and
force fed while incarcerated when they refused to eat.
Final memorable moment
Perhaps the most memorable scene in the film was after being trampled to death at the Epsom
Derby, the director employed actual footage of Emily s funeral procession which showed thousands
of suffragettes walking behind her casket while thousands more lining the streets. The death of
Emily Davidson; that one single event, was the pebble that rippled around the world, and finally
sparked the beginning of

What Happens When You Put The Wrong Fuels In Car Essay
What Happens When You Put the Wrong Fuel in Your Car?
Uh oh, you stopped to get gas and put the wrong type of fuel in your car! What do you do next,
and will your car be okay? This is a mistake that many people have made, though no one likes to
admit it. Read on to figure out what to do if you have a fuel mix up, and how you can prevent
serious damage to your engine.
Diesel in a Gas Vehicle
When you pulled up to the gas station all of the pumps were full but one. You pulled up to the
pump, filled up and then noticed that you were using the diesel pump! Gas cars can t run on
diesel and will stop running once they ve used up any gas that is left in the tank since they can t
combust diesel. Luckily, putting diesel in a gas car isn t the end of your car, but there are a few
steps you have to follow to prevent damage. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you re already driving, pull over in a safe place and turn off the car. Next you ll want to call a
mechanic, as your car will need to have both the fuel tank and fuel lines drained to prevent
damage. Once the tank and lines have been drained, fill your car up with regular gas and you
should be ready to go again.
If you visit the mechanic right away, it is likely that your car will not sustain any permanent
damages. Getting the lines and tank drained may cost you though, with the fix costing anywhere
from $500 to over $1000 according to autoguide.com, plus the price of the tow to the mechanic.
Gas in a Diesel Vehicle
Many diesel pumps have designs to prevent fuel mix ups. Many of the pumps will have a liger
diameter on the nozzle, or a different colored handle. While this prevents diesel pumps form
fitting in regular gas tanks, the regular gas pumps still fits into a diesel tank. Putting regular gas
in a diesel vehicle can cause major damage to the vehicles engines, make sure to follow the steps
below to minimize these damages if you ever have a fuel mix

Comparing Margaret Atwood s The Handmaid Offred And The Talk
Disempowerment leads to a loss of individual identity, the absolute power of leadership forcing
citizens quiet, out of fear. A lowly Handmaid Offred, narrates Margaret Atwood s The Handmaid
s Tale giving us a personal insight into her thoughts and memories, how total control has impacted
on individuals through a unique perspective on the new society: from point of view of the
oppressed. Similarly, Michael D Antuono s The Talk displays the corruption in leadership,
subsequently creating a society where people fear the enforcers of law, where African American
parents have to tell their children they are not safe. Oppression of individual power leads to its
irresponsible use when granted, as individual identity is lost and must be regained.

A Fine Line Between Utilizing Natural Rights And Breaking...

A Fine Line Between Utilizing Natural Rights and Breaking the Law Everyone is entitled to
natural rights such as freedom of speech, freedom to protest, and freedom of beliefs or religion.
However, these are personal, or private, rights, and are therefore limited in the work force. Once
one brings these personal rights, more specifically freedom of religion, into the work force, they
violate the separation of church and state. The separation of church and state is simply a law
preventing government officials to serve with biased opinions based on personal beliefs. All
government agents are expected to serve with an unbiased opinion, and it is difficult to do that if one

Kim Davis has sparked the interests of thousands all over the country, and even some all over the
world. In getting everyone s attention, Kim Davis has managed to stir up quite an argument as
well. Although this dispute has gotten a bit messy, underneath the crossfire of conflicting opinions,
there are the underlying truths of the story. Kim Davis is a citizen of the United States, and as a U.S.
citizen, Davis s personal beliefs, and the freedom to express them, are protected by the First
Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which states, Congress shall make no law respecting an
establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of
speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the
government for a redress of grievances (US Const. amend. I). Proponents of Davis argue that not
only does she have the freedom to believe what she wants, but she has the freedom to express her
beliefs as well. Though Kim Davis s beliefs are protected by the First Amendment, the right for
same sex couples to marry is protected by section one of the Fourteenth Amendment, which states,
No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens

A Specific Moment In My Life That Has Drastically Impacted...
If I had to pin point a specific moment in my life that has drastically impacted my academic
career it would be the summer class I took last year at my community college. We were all in
class talking about career planning and what majors we were going to choose once we finished
the course and my professor brought up a very good point. She was asking us all what we
wanted to do and most of us didn t have a solid answer so she looked around the room and asked,
when you guys were kids what did you want to be when you grew up? The first thing I thought of
was that I wanted to be a singer. That however would never work out because I cannot sing to save
my life. Other students were saying things like doctors, lawyers, and other big jobs like that.

The Issue Of The Civil War
One exception to the rising trend in democracy was Rhode Island. Its policy was that voters had
to own land worth at least $134 or rent for $7 per year. Due to a growing population of wage
earners who did not own property, proponents of democracy organized a People s Convention and
drafted a new constitution. It gave all adult white men the right to vote. When reformers proceeded
to ratify their new constitution and inaugurate Thomas Dorr, Rhode Island s president, John Tyler,
called on federal troops. The movement was unsuccessful and Thomas Dorr ended up spending
nearly two years in prison for committing treason. The Dorr War made it clear how serious it was
to exclude any group of white men from voting. This eventually led to the... Show more content on

children of those already in Missouri be freed at age twenty five. (Foner 368) This proposal

proposed a three part compromise to Talmadge s plan. First, Missouri would be allowed to draft
its own Constitution. It would also ...be admitted to the union as a slave state, but would be
balanced by the admission of Maine, a free state, that had long wanted to be separated from
Massachusetts. (ushistory.org) Lastly, slavery would be prohibited in the Louisiana Purchase s

The Harappan Civilization Of Indus River Valley
The Indus River Valley, located in present day Pakistan was a full fledged civilization that emerged
in 3300 B.C.E. The Harappan Civilization, stretching from present day Afghanistan to Pakistan
contained vast amounts of small communities. The society was very technologically advanced and
somewhat modeled the fundamentals of the society we live in today. The Harappan society was
one of the earliest to have a system of writing; however historians have still not interpreted them
today. Nevertheless, the society left us numerous archaeological and architectural ruins that provide
much information. Harappa, an Indus RiverValley that left us no written records, but only some
remains helped us understand the society s urban planning, trade, lifestyle and mortality rate.
From the remains that were left by the Harappan society; today archaeologists can understand the
civilization s urban planning. In the last few years, archaeologists discovered major structures that
belonged to the time period of 2600 B.C.E. These structures were made from baked bricks. These
structures gave us clues about the material that was used from the planning of the city. From such
remains, archaeologists were able to learn that house sand streets were laid out in a certain pattern,
which was from North to South and East to West. There were multistoried houses that were found,
giving us information that houses were present in the Harappan Civilization many like the ones
today. There were also parts of

My Experience With Mental Health Issues And Poverty
It s six o clock in the morning when my mother wakes me up. She combs through my tangled
hair, helps me with my Velcro tennis shoes, grabs her backpack and we head out the door. We re
headed to her Renaissance art class where we sit in the front row. She takes out my coloring book
and some crayons and I get to work while a woman with a booming voice clicks through a
PowerPoint.
My mother never let me underestimate the value of an education. She worked hard to put herself
through school as a single mother, towing me around campus as I watched, wide eyed, at all of the
students rushing by. She always pushed excellence and that s why I ve always held myself to the
highest standards. Her tragic experience with mental health issues and poverty have encouraged me
to work hard towards not only a degree, but towards a career that can help make a difference. By
personally experiencing childhood poverty and homelessness I ve gained a greater appreciation
for those that dedicate their lives to helping persons in need. My goal is to become a doctor using
my background in Public Health to better serve impoverished communities and research solutions to
pertinent health issues. I believe the University of Texas at Austincan help me achieve my goal.
As a public health major pursuing medical school, I ve explored multiple aspects of the major
academic disciplines. Even as a high school student, taking advanced placement and dual credit

Response Of Intervention ( Rti ) Process
Response to Intervention Process Joey Veltri Reinhardt Univsersity Introduction The response to
intervention (RTI) process allows educators to respond to students academic and behavioral needs
in the classroom. Educators can respond to student challenges by using instructional interventions
to provide extra support to struggling students. An intervention is a type of instruction targeted to
meet the learning and/or behavioral needs of a student. Interventions are in addition to the general
classroom instruction. The interventions may vary in intensity. They can increase or decrease in
intensity as determined by students needs. Students are progress monitored by using checkpoints to

Every student engages in high quality instruction in the classroom at the Tier 1 level. In Tier 1,
students get a daily opportunity to learn grade level curriculum and get basic differentiation to
support their needs. The grade level standards are taught using research based, best practices.
Teachers may work with small groups and provide hands on activities to make learning
meaningful and relevant to students. All students receive periodic assessments that allow the
teacher to identify if they require more intense support. Often times, schools will implement a
schoolwide screening tool to benchmark students and determine if they need supplemental
instruction to meet grade level expectations. Data collection from these assessments helps to
guide teacher instruction and will also help to determine if a student needs more support in one
or more academic areas. RTI Pyramid Tier 2 If a student is needing extra support in grasping
grade level curriculum, they are moved into Tier 2. Tier 2 is the second level in the RTI pyramid
and allows for more support to a struggling student. The student will still receive differentiated
instruction just as they were given in the Tier 1 level. In Tier 2, a support team including the
classroom teacher, an early intervention teacher, and parents work together to create a learning plan
that works best for the student. Parents will be informed of their child s

The Rise And Fall Of Egyptian Independence
INTRODUCTION
Egypt was formally incorporated into the Roman Empire in 30BC resulting in the loss of Egyptian
independence. Egypt had experienced years of political upheaval owing to sibling rivalry and
native unrest (Wilkinson, 2010), well before Rome was interested in seizing the country. This
allowed for the weakening of the country, which consequentially made it easily conquered.
However, Egypt s loss of independence was ultimately prompted by the relationship between
Cleopatra VII and Marc Anthony therefore making it the immediate catalyst (Jankowski, 2000).
When analyzing to what extent was the relationship between Cleopatra VII and Marc Anthony the
catalyst for the loss of Egyptian independence in 30BC the aim is to extract scholarly research
findings that relate specifically to the research question and thus assist with an examination of the
aforementioned question.

Beowulf Anglo Saxon Hero Essay
The Hero of the Anglo Saxon Period In every culture, there are certain standards set forth for
heroes. The epic poem Beowulf, renders a legendary hero. In the Anglo Saxon culture, heroes must
be strong, courageous and loyal. Without these defining features there are no heroes. Beowulf is a
prime example of an Anglo Saxon hero. He possesses relentless loyalty to his king and his allies,
and his courage is unyielding. Beowulfs strength is exceptional, as the is able to conquer each of
his adversaries and conducts endeavors of unparalleled endurance. Beowulf faces many monsters
throughout the epic poem, three monsters he fights show a trace of Anglo Saxon heroism in them.
Even though they may also break the hero code on multiple occasions. Beowulf is a model Anglo
Saxon hero. The Anglo Saxons believed that heroes should be many things, fearless, strong and

The Potential Causes And Possible Treatment Of Exercise...
The potential causes and possible treatment of exercise addiction
Unquestionably, physical activity complements the quality of life for an individual, while
exercising on a regular basis results in many benefits. Nevertheless despite the great benefit of
sport, many experts commonly agree that physical activity may be harmful. One of the
unfavourable areas within sport, which is frequently examined by researchers, is exercise addiction.
The predominance of exercise addiction is quite rare in reality, but when present conflicting
consequences can be calamitous (De Coverley Veale, 1987; Szabo, 2007).
Szabo (1998) proposed that those addicted to exercise will experience a more compelling
withdrawal than dedicated exercisers. A comprehensive manner to distinguish between both sets of
individuals may be through the actions and intentions for exercise of the individuals. Exercise
addiction between an athlete which is healthy and an exercise addict may be sharing very similar
levels of training; the difference is the mental approach and attitude taken by each individual. The
individual addicted to exercise is unable to see the real value in unnecessary exercise and is
resolute in pursuing his sport despite it being against his best interest.
The definition of exercise addiction is complemented by six common symptoms of exercise
addiction: mood modification, salience, withdrawal symptoms, relapse, tolerance and personal
conflict (Brown, 1993; Griffiths, 2005).

the internal combustion engine also makes peak power and torque at redline which is the

All that being said why are we still using them even till 2040?
Thankfully electric cars have have begun to make up a significant portion of new car sales,
which is good since they are superior in every aspect They are projected to keep increasing there

Comparing Beowulf And Gilgamesh In A Heroic Epic
English epic essay. I believe Beowulf fits the majority of the characteristics compared to Dante
and Gilgamesh in a heroic epic. Dante shows quite a few characteristics but he went through his
journey for himself because he needed to reflect on his past shames to look forward to a better
future. Gilgamesh also went on his journey for himself to find immortality because he feared death
and what his status/evil doings will bring him in the afterlife. Beowulfwent on his journey to save
others and build his name which is more than what the others did. Going over each of the
characteristics a heroin an epic needs beowulf has the most. Most epics have a noble or wealthy
main character which fits gilgamesh and beowulf but not dante. Dante was a political man which
may give him respect but does not make him noble or wealthy. Gilgamesh was a king giving him
wealth and noble standing and beowulf was the nephew of a king made to be a warrior also giving
him noble standing. While beowulf shares this trait with gilgamesh, beowulf being a warrior knows
trouble and strife while gilgamesh sat on his thrown showing off his god strength occasionally, not
knowing hardships in life.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gilgamesh has great strength because he is two thirds god so it s a given that he has great
strength and showed it many times while chasing immortality but is weak on the courage front
because he feared death so much. Beowulf also has great strength strength and it was shown to
everyone since he was young which is why they made him a warrior. Beowulf also showed great
courage when he went out of his way to defeat Grendel in danesland even though he could not use
swords and only strength. Dante did not have great strength because he was a normal man but

Impact Of Geography On Ancient Civilizations
Impact Of Geography Geography has impacted many cultures and religions, as well as where
people settle down to grow a civilization. Geography has impacted may civilizations throughout the
years such as but not limited to, the Incas, the Mayans, the early hunter gatherer societies, the
Chinese, the Egyptians, as well as the Indians. Civilizations tended to grow near mountains, rivers,
and coastlines, most notable civilizationthat grew on the river was the Egyptians. Egyptians were
mainly able to survive because of the fact that the NileRiver was going through the center of their
kingdom. The Nile was a main source of nourishment as well as a timetable, because the
Egyptians knew when it would flood and when it would recede, so they planned their growing
seasons according to the flooding of the Nile River. Egyptians were not the only well known
culture to develop alongside the shores of a major river a Far East culture also developed. The
Chinese empire did not necessarily start alongside a river, but that was where they most likely
had the most amount of wealth in the region because that was where they grew the most amounts
of crops, due to the fertile land around the yellow river. This influenced the growth of wealth
based societies where the wealthy people would not live near the rivers, but instead in the
mountains, and only the poor farmers who worked the land would live by the rivers because of the
fertile land and the ability to grow crops. Rivers were also a

Research Paper On Cosplaying
Is there a character that you like so much that you wanted to be him or her for a day? Accept the
reality, human doesn t have that kind of power to exchange souls or bodies, but there is an
approach to make the dream come true. The solution is by cosplaying. Cosplay in other words,
are costume role plays, where people called cosplayers wear costumes and fashion accessories to
look or represent a character.
First of all, there s no license or barrier to entry to become a cosplayer. For instance, if you want to
be a cosplayer, then be one. No one is going to stop you from quitting or becoming one. In a

Costumes are expensive and takes a lot of patients. Each costume cost approximately a hundred
to thousands of dollars. The fabric can expensive and due to different locations, some cosplayers
are being limited to make their own costumes because their local fabric store does not sell the
same pattern as the character that they wanted to Cosplay. As well as cosplayer who order online.
It took around an average of one to two months to receive the costumes. Worst of all, sometimes
the costume is totally different from what you order, the size is too big or too small.
Thirdly, based on my three years of experience, the only stressful problem I have about
cosplaying is that I always have to tailor the costumes that I bought because I have a really small
build. Moreover, when I can t tailor the costume due to the difficulty of fabric that was being
used, it became a waste of money because the costume is too big for me to wear. Cosplaying is a
lot of work and creativity, there s a lot of painting, paper mache, and a lot of makeups practice to

Manhunter Scene
In the 1986 film Manhunter, directed by Michael Mann, a retired FBI detective named Will
Graham is called from his seemingly perfect life of drinking beer on the beach with his beautiful
wife to assist in the investigation of a serial killer called the tooth fairy. The opening scene of
Manhunter is the camera in place of the serial killer following his every move while he carefully
tiptoes in the house of his next victims. This exact scene is revisited later on in the film when
Graham retraces the exact steps of the killer through the victim s house in order to better
understand the motives of the killer. Michael Mann decides to use a point of view shot in both
cases of the serial killer and for Graham. The reason behind this is that Graham is supposedly such
a great detective because he can emulate the thought... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lecktor is a former psychiatrist that was apprehended by Graham, but caused him severe

Manual Sizing Of Analog Blocks
There is around 10 to 200 real valued parameters in an analog circuit, and value of these
parameters must be set in order to meet the specification .Circuit sizing is the process of setting
these parameters. for example a simple two stage operational amplifier has around 12 parameters
,which includes width, length and passive component values of all transistors which have to be set
to achieve specifications such as CMRR(common mode rejection ratio), gain, power ,area
,bandwidth ,noise ,settling time ,offset value and slew rate . Figure 1 two stage operational amplifier
There are 6 mosfets in this figure, so we have two compute values of width and height of 6 mosfets
along with other parameters such as slew rate, bandwidth and noise margin.
A system on a chip (SOC) is an integrated circuit that integrates all components of a electronic
system into a single chip. SOC is made automated to a large extent. Manual sizing of analog blocks
is a bottleneck. There are several methods and techniques of sizing; circuit sizing is an optimization
problem. SPICE model is being considered the most accurate model as the final check point is
spice correctness since the designer does not have access to the fabrication process so designer
relies on the simulator. Apart from spice there are circuit equations. These equations can be derived
taking some assumption with regard to the transistor behavior. There are three

In The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fist Fight In Heaven
No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his
religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love
comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite. Unfortunately Native Americans have
deep roots with racism and oppression during the last 500 years. In The Lone Rangerand Tonto Fist
Fight in Heaven, Sherman Alexie tries to show racism in many ways in multiple of his short
stories. These stories, engage our history from a Native American viewpoint. Many Native
Americans were brutally forced out of their homes and onto Reservations that lacked resources.
Later, Indian children were taken from their families and placed into school that were designed to,
Kill the Indian, save the man. In the book there are multiple short story that are pieces that form a
larger puzzle that shows the struggles and their effects on Native Americans. Sherman Alexie shows
the many sides of racism, unfair justice and extermination policies and how imagination is key for
Native American survival.
Sherman Alexie show how non Native Americans treat Native Americans in court and day to day
life.

Political, Economical, Social, Technological, Legal, Legal and Environmental forces of a
particular industry of a country. Political analysis The political factors differ from country to
country. During difficult times of recession, every country s government helps the automotive
industry players by taking out various remedy policies like when Toyota got a loan of $2 billion
sanctioned from the Japanese government. According to the new laws Toyota has been asked to
reduce Cos generated from its cars, which has created a big challenge for the company. Economic
analysis Currently recession is prevailing in the market so the global car sale of Toyota is showing

What Is Delormier Giddens Theory Of Structuration
Introduction:
Delormier, Frohlich, Potvin, (2009) used Giddens theory of structuration, specifically the concepts
of social practice, the duality of the social structure, and agency to develop a conceptual
framework in their research on food as a social practice. According to Giddens (1984) social
practices are at the root of the constitution of both agent and society (ibid.: 1984:xxii); and social
structures constitute rules and resources which actors draw upon during practice, creating both
enabling and constraining conditions of practice (ibid.: 1984: xxii, 25). It is from this perspective
that Delormier, Frohlich and Potvin (2009) highlight that individual action is not determined by the
social structure, but rather enacted and concretised by people through the choices they make during
social practice, and that through their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other scholars have suggested that the many actions that aimed at transforming Central and
Eastern European societies in the late 80s and early 90s served as springboard for many

concept have attempted to subdivide it into different categories: the agency of (unequal) power
(Ortner, 2006:147); residential agency and representational agency (Kockelman, 2007); the
performance of agency and the grammatical encoding of agency (Duranti, 2007). The wide interest
and use of the concept in the social sciences and humanities also imply the proliferation of
definitions though with foundation in Giddens theory of structuration. Agency is the capacity for
actors to intervene in the world and to influence a specific process or state of affairs; that is it can

Gilgamesh and Enkidu
In the Epic of Gilgamesh, the paths of two extremely different men converge and propel them on a

them to collide and satiate their desire for companionship. Enkidu and Gilgamesh are a

each stood to gain from the other. Before Enkidu s creation, Gilgamesh wasn t a pleasant king. He

the fight and forms a friendship with Enkidu. Ninsun, the mother of Gilgamesh, reminds them of
how Enkidu has no brother and no family and it makes Enkidu sad. Gilgamesh hated seeing his
friend hurt so he proposes they go fight the ferocious Humbaba, the mystical monster in the
Forest of Cedar. Enkidu advises against going on the quest. From what he remembers living in

II, 232 33). He then precedes to remind Enkidu of their strengths and that together Humbaba can
be defeated. This is the start of their Epic destiny together. The journeys and battles they face

if they were one person at times but also flipping roles in certain situations. When they finally

Fine Dining Steps Of Service
Fine Dining Steps of Service Fine Dining is an experience that is unique in itself. The server
makes each guest feel like they are special and the quality of service received reflects just that.
Each step of service not only makes the guest feel welcome and appreciated, but also contributes
to the entire experience. Without one element of this process going as expected, it can throw off
the entire experience and turn a good one into a disaster. To have a good dining experience, a
server must provide the following step of service to a guest: the meet and greet, taking the orders,
the delivery of the meal, checking back, clearing of the table, dessert/coffee/tea, and delivery of the
check. The first and most important step of service is the meet and greet. This is the server s
first impression and can set the mood for the remainder of the guest dining experience. The
server must always approach the table with warm welcoming smile, say hello, and introduce him
/herself by name. Remember this smile needs to be genuine. The server should ask how the
guests are doing and be sincere about it. If the introduction includes a first name, the guests can
actually make a personal connection to the server. Servers who smile and use a name become
more important to the guests and whom are more likely to return to the restaurant asking for those
servers by name. Guests need for the first impression to be a good experience to set the mood for
the rest of the dining

Different Styles Of Parenting Styles
According to the New York Metro Parents, a website that combines nine regional print
magazines in New York s Metropolitan areas, several studies of babies left to cry in their rooms
show that parents can t love a child too much. Ferberized children tend to grow up to be extremely
successful later in life. These children grow up to be tomorrow s doctors, firefighters, and
millionaires of Silicon Valley. (Hogan and Haskell, 2). Most of today s kids have one of the
following types of parents: Indulgent, Authoritative, Neglectful, Authoritarian*. These are generally
regarded as the four main types of parenting. These four styles of parenting are the stereotypical
parenting styles most people identify one or both of their parents as. Indulgent parents tend to
coddle their children and protect them from disappointment. Authoritative parents are people who
have reasonable demands and rules usually met by children who respond well and listen to them.
Though they have high expectations, these parents children tend to meet or exceed the expectations
due to the resources the parent s provide. These parents are known by some children as the golden
guardians. They are what every parent who has ever purchased a parenting book strives to become.
Authoritarian parents have extremely high expectations that are almost impossible to meet and
very strict rules that must be followed unconditionally. These adults are the origin of parental
nicknames such as Scary Gary and Evil

The Postal System As A Method Of Communication
There are three separate theories available which can be identified that could be used to confirm
that an enforceable agreement has been reached between parties using the postal system as a
method of communication. These are, the information theory, whereby the offeror notifies the
offeree that the letter of acceptance has been received. The receipt theory, which assumes a
contract has been created on the receipt of a letter of acceptance and the dispatch theory, known
also as the postal rule which confirms that a contract has been entered into at the point in time that
the letter of acceptance is posted. Clearly, it is essential that when contracts are created using the
postal system as a means of communication it must possible to determine at what point the
agreement becomes legally enforceable. When using the postal system there is an inevitable risk
that communications could be lost or delayed which, but for the postal rule would create
uncertainty for the party who is providing acceptance of the offer. Therefore, unless the offeror
had prescribed a specific or alternative method of communication it is the dispatch theory that is
applied in English contract law regarding the acceptance of agreements that are made using the
postal system, this confirms certainty in the mind of the offeree. This rule became established in
English contract law as the result of the decision made in Adams v Lindsell (1818) 106 ER 250.
This was subsequently confirmed in The

Part of the problem is that in the large major cities youngsters who are suffering from boredom,
despair, and poverty can easily be enticed into the idea of being part of a gang. With these ideas
of involvement, it is increasing the gang membership in larger cities. Studies have shown an
increase in gang involvement since 2003 but now is stabilizing. This is a growing problem
because if we do not increase activities such as prevention groups or getting the police involved in
community programs in cities encouraging youth participation it could begin to rise again over a
few more years. Police need to not be just a figure in a uniform, but get involved and let youth and
adults know that the figure in the uniform is a person who cares about them and the community.
What is a gang and what do they do?
There are many definitions for what a gang is. According to The National Gang Center website,
one definition of a gang is a group of youngsters or adolescents who associate closely, often
exclusively, for social reasons, especially a group engaging in delinquent behavior such as a
gang of thieves. Some factors that make a gang a gang are that the group has three or more
members, generally aged 12 24, the members share an identity, typically linked to a name, and
often other symbols. The members view themselves as a gang, and they are recognized by others
as a gang. The group has some permanence and a degree of organization and the group is involved

Persuasive Essay On The Confederate Statue
The violence continues as statues keep coming down in America currently. My goal today is to
explain why the confederate statue should stay or should be taken down everywhere in the
United States. There is three Main points that I m going to states and defend in this Essay and
tell you why I believe in them and there purposes. First why we need to keep them and not take
them down. Second they will help educated the future people for the better. Last of all I think
that we should keep the statues all the way and this is why. Why should we keep the statues you
may ask, well there is no right or wrong answer for this topic but I will do my best to defend my
point and belief of why these statues should not be torn down. The biggest reason I don t want
these statues torn down is that it s not just a big piece of metal sitting there or a regular statue, these
are statues that have history behind them over the years on when the south fought the north for a
big turn for American history. People think they are racist or wrong, but really they show where
we are from and what we are about. This Battle goes back to a massive shooting in 2015, when
Dylan Roof shot nine people in a dominant black church in Charleston, SC. Thus starting of the
Statues being taken down across America. How will this help the future for the better If someone

Cults And Its Effect On Society
Cults have played major roles in how society has developed. They surround us everywhere. We
have been in contact with them and we don t even realize it. According to
Merriam Webster, a cult is a religious group that is not part of an accepted religion because their
beliefs are seen as extreme and/or dangerous. Cults have carried out many attacks and have caused
many deaths due to their beliefs.
Cult leaders are the controllers that have the reins to their followers minds. They can brainwash
them into believing and doing whatever they desire in order to feel power. Many people have
gone to great extents to harm others and even themselves. Many have killed for their devotion to
their leader. How can leaders achieve such control over others? Everything that cult leaders use to
manipulate all comes down to psychology. Some use fear and guilt to persuade while others
brainwash them into believing that what they are doing is for the greater good and that it is all
part of God s plan. Shoko Asahara gained power over his followers in the
Aum Shinrikyo cult, which led various chemical attacks against the citizens of Japan, by exalting
himself as the Messiah whose mission was to save humanity, a mission that many cult leaders
have in common. Shoko Asahara was born Chizuo Matsumoto on March 2, 1955 in Yashushiro,
Japan to a poor working class family. At a young age he developed glaucoma which led to his
blindness in his left eye and partial in the other. After

The Roman Aqueduct System
A common theme noticed in the architectural history of Rome is the use of arches. Whether used
for their quality and bolster, or raised for their fancy magnificence, evidence of ancient Rome s love
for the arch has lasted throughout history. One of the more famous employments of curves in
Roman building design is found in the Roman aqueduct system. A fascinating waterway system
designed to carry fresh water from the surrounding highlands into the heart of the city, the aqueduct
system was considered highly advanced for its time. The invention and use of aqueducts helped to
shape the culture and mold a way of life for ancient Rome. The system of bringing fresh water into
needy areas was not an original invention of the Romans. Other cultures,... Show more content on

From personal usage to the opulence of Rome s bath facilities and ornamental fountains, the city of
ancient Rome flourished, in part, from the benefits of a system that provided running water.
Through incredible engineering that continues to astound and impress in modern times, the ancient
Romans were able to create an amazing water system that has been restored and maintained to
offer instances of use throughout the centuries, as well as today (Biemiller, para. 2). The intricate,
decorative arches still tower above Rome s landscape. They serve as stately reminders of an age of
ingenuity and resourcefulness as well as beauty. The Roman aqueduct was the improvement of an
established idea that served to enhance and advance the culture and lineage of the Roman

Herzberg s Motivation Theory
Motivation is one of the internal essentials of life; in other words simply no one can live without
motivation. Motivation helps all living organism in the process of achieving their goals or targets.
For example all professional athletes target is to be the best at what they do; one factor that
distinguishes between wanting something and actually reaching it is the stimulus that moves the
living organisms to do a certain action in order to reach their target or goal, which also could be
defined as motivation. The second example is about animals where motivation is also an important
factor in their lives. The most probable targets of animals are related to their basic instincts and
their basic needs; as a small example of that is food which... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Eisenhower s statement Motivation is getting people to do what you want them to do because
they want to do it. (Achim, Dragolea, Balan, 2013) Motivation is art; it is also a power that
affects people actions. Indeed not every human being can motivate, but also every human being can
be motivated. In performing such a process in a company; it is favorable for the company to know
the possibilities and ways of reasoning that would work for each employee according to their targets
and parts of interests; then the company would easily desire more and more from those whom they
managed to motivate, moreover this process will always work in the benefit of both companies and
employees. Motivation is one of the most important things that the human resources department in
any company must show a great concern, because through motivation the company could earn more
profit, gain a better reputation, and finally satisfy their own

If we are in a recession or there are a lot of layoffs in the area of a certain store its business is
directly affected. Unlike with some corporations such as CISCO systems or Ameritech they are
in many way s utility services and aren t directly influenced by the state of the economy. Best
Buy s CEO Dick Schulze admitted in an article that sales are down due to the current state of the
economy: We had expected earnings to decline in a decelerating economy, Best Buy chief
executive Richard Schulze said in a statement. But, he added, I remain confident that we are on
track to deliver earnings growth of 16 to 18 percent this year, or $2.16 to $2.21 per share,
assuming no significant decline in the economy. В‘ this seems to be the case with most retail
chains but with the amount of expansion that Best Buy is working towards there is plenty of room
to make up for losses.
In terms of future directions the company is taking, in February of 2001, Best Buy embarked on its
most advantageous venture by the acquisition of the Musicland Corporation which owns stores
such as Sam Goody Music, Suncoast Video, and Media play. This acquisition will help to give
Best Buy the edge in the electronic and entertainment sales field. Best Buy obtained over 1300
stores from the Musicland Corporation. Richard Schulze s press release said it all when he
discussed where the company was headed with the newly acquired stores. We

Four Factors of an Aircraft in Flight
The human being is set apart from all other animals by an intelligent, reasoning mind. Another
quality that humans seem to possess is an inherent drive to utilize that mind to achieve to
recognize challenges and to attempt conquer them (Smith, 1992, p. 1). One of my favorite
person that I used to read about in high school was Benjamin Franklin; one of the founding
Father of the United States of America and the master mind behind the invention of electricity.
As stated in the words of Smith, the curiosity of Franklin lead him to discover how electricity
works. This same driven factor of human mind was what led the Wrights Brother to invent and
fly the first power aircraft. The four forces that are acting on an aircraft in flight are: Lift, Weight,
Thrust and Drag. The airplane stays up because it doesn t have the time to fall (Wrights Brothers).
One of the unique quality/ characteristic that differentiate aircraft from all other vehicles is its
ability to get up in the air and stay for a long period of time. The forcethat raises an object into the
air is called lift. The force that acts against this lift force is called weight. The left principle states
that in order for an object to be lifted off the ground, the weight of that object should be less than
the air surrounding it. Now you might be asking, why is it that aircraft which is heavier than car fly
but car don t? The answer to this question lies within the engineering of an aircraft. An aircraft has

Section 59 of the Crimes Act and a Parent s Right to...
The change to Section 59 of the Crimes Act compromises a parent s right to discipline their child.
Parents are in a position of authority in which they are responsible for shaping their children into
respectful, law abiding citizens, and often a light smack to the hand or bottom is an effective way
of teaching the right attitude and behaviour. If a child displays behaviour that goes against what
their parents are teaching them, a light smack is often necessary in letting the child know what they
are doing is wrong.
Changing the Crimes Act will not stop serious physical abuse from happening to children. Research
carried out in Christchurch has suggested that serious offences of child abuse occur as a result of
parental personal and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Michele Wilkinson Smith (2007), a criminal lawyer who has argued on both sides of Section 59
in court deems the repeal unnecessary. In her own experience she has never seen a case where a
child has been seriously abused go excused because of the reasonable force defence and it is
likely that no New Zealand jury would find such serious abuse to be perfectly reasonable. It is
unrealistic to assume a person who has seriously harmed a child will go unpunished, however
parents who lightly smack will face serious consequences. Joanne Black (2007) agrees, saying the
only effect of this change is that a parent who smacks a child in order to improve his or her
behaviour breaks the law (p. 58). Light smacking to improve a child s behaviour is at the discretion
of the parent, who is aiming to better their child, not seriously harm them.
Naturally, the change to Section 59 does have a positive side, providing a step toward New
Zealand becoming a less violent society. Removing the reasonable force defence gives parents the
opportunity to think twice about the practices they use in correcting their child s behaviour, opting
to not use a physical method. Children of this abuse are also less likely to go out and commit
violent crimes as a result of the way they were brought up. In the long run, this change could alter
the way parents treat their children, and therefore, cutting back on crime (Else, 2007). However, this

Parkinson s Disease And The Disease
Parkinson s disease is a chronic disorder of the nervous system with a gradual onset that
primarily affects the body s motor system. The symptoms of the disease are mainly caused by the
death of dopamine producing cells in the midbrain. Dopamine is an important neurotransmitter
that, among other things, is responsible for playing a role in how the brain controls bodily
movements. Therefore, the cardinal symptoms of the disease are movement related, including
tremor and rigid, jerky movements. Parkinson s is a progressive disease, meaning it gets worse
over time, until it eventually leads to complete disability. Parkinson s is a fairly common disease,
and several well known people, such as actor Michael J. Fox and boxer Muhammad Ali have...

Parkinson s disease produces both motor symptoms and nonmotor symptoms. There are four
cardinal motor symptoms of Parkinson s: tremor, rigidity, bradykinesia (slow movements), and
postural instability. Tremor is the most obvious symptom of Parkinson s, as well as the most
common. The tremor is uncontrollable and is most noticeable when the limb is at rest; when
the limb is in use, the tremor disappears. Often times, the tremor only affects the hand or foot on
one side of the body, but it can eventually become bilateral. Rigidity is characterized as stiffness
and resistance to movement in the limbs. The arms, legs, face, and back are areas commonly
affected. Early on, rigidity can cause joint pain, often in the shoulder. Bradykinesia is one of the
most common symptoms of Parkinson s. It is described as slowness and difficulty in initiating
and making movements, especially repetitive movements and fine motor skills, such as writing.
Bradykinesia greatly affects the ability of the Parkinson s sufferer to perform common activities
of daily life, like getting dressed. According to Nolden (2015), postural instability is the imbalance
and loss of righting reflexes. This is usually a symptom that shows up in the late stages of
Parkinson s. Postural instability is linked with high rates of hip fractures in people with Parkinson s
disease, due to increased falls. Aside from the four cardinal motor symptoms, there are secondary
motor symptoms that go

American Heart Association
Although the Western States Affiliate s (WSA s) organizational model successfully increased
fundraising revenue for the American Heart Association (AHA), the task force s initiative to adopt
this structure and strategy at a national level indicates a lack of understanding of the AHA s overall
vision and business strategy. If the AHA wishes to achieve even greater success while continuing to
maintain its long standing strategy of raising funds for research and community education, it should
focus on developing a hybrid organizational structure, improving operational efficiency and
strengthening its community participation. While the new WSA organizational structure proved
successful in increasing fundraising revenues, certain design... Show more content on

By improving operational efficiency, AHA will be able to achieve greater long term success.
The AHA would benefit from multiple lateral processes that would help execute on its strategic
vision as well as day to day operations. An American Heart Walk event in Texas, for example,
would use the WSA s model with a specialized CED overseeing event execution, but prior to that,
EVPs and SVPs from several regions, by nature of their dual responsibility structure, would
leverage the knowledge gained from AHW events across the entire country. At the same time, the
community liaison, a new addition to the local office, would also benefit from the strategic
coordination across all AHW events and would better represent the common vision and goals of the
AHA. A second lateral process that promotes operational efficiency is e coordination. A central
repository of volunteers, donors, event planning specifics and a detailed community profile will be
a very valuable asset to the AHA. For example, having information on the fund raising and
educational programs that were successful in an affluent community in one geographical region
will provide focus when pursuing a similar community in another part of the country. Collaboration
with local organizations also becomes easier when pre existing relationships across the country may

  • 2. Spouse A Case Study 1)Recommended Tax Filing Status Spouse A has varying sources of income and given the characteristics of his personal and professional life, he can claim a number of deductions. Owing to the fact that Spouse A and Spouse B have varying sources of income, Spouse A would most ideally file the IRS 1040 form jointly with his wife s tax returns. This is because a joint tax return would give them access to a host of deductions for which they are eligible. These include earned income tax credits, American Opportunity and Lifetime Learning Education Tax Credits, and Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit. Under joint filing, the couple could exclude the income of $500,000 from the sale of their personal residence, while separate filing would only allow a $250,000 deduction. 2)Rules on Income a)Taxable and Nontaxable Income Child support that Spouse B receives is not taxable since it is not considered income. Any form of child support is not taxable. Alimony that is paid out by spouse A is deductible since it is going to be taxed on the recipient of the alimony as income (John Wiley Sons, 2013). b)Short term and long term capital gains or losses A capital gain or loss is considered on the sale or the returns from an asset. • 4. Suffragettes Movie Essay An Analysis of the movie entitled, Suffragette The year was 1912 in London, England. Women lived at the mercy of their fathers, brothers, husbands and bosses; clearly a patriarchal society. Women s lives consisted of keeping house and raising children and caring for their families. Those who worked outside of the home were limited to menial labor, earned significantly less than men, and surrendered their earnings to their husbands. Any inheritance of real estate or money a woman may have received was given to her husband and, most often, she had nothing to say about how it was managed or spent. A woman could not vote or run for office, and received little support, should she desire an education other than a finishing school. (Clearly, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Morgan) Inspired by actual events, this film is a story of the suffragette as told through the experiences of the fictional character of Maud Watts (played by Carey Mulligan). Reluctant at first, Maud commits herself to the suffrage cause when her husband throws her out of the house, she loses her job, and her only child is put up for adoption. While there are many poignant scenes in this film, one was when she told her son to remember her name and pleaded with him to look for her when he was older. The film shows the brutality experienced by Suffragettes as they were beaten and arrested and force fed while incarcerated when they refused to eat. Final memorable moment Perhaps the most memorable scene in the film was after being trampled to death at the Epsom Derby, the director employed actual footage of Emily s funeral procession which showed thousands of suffragettes walking behind her casket while thousands more lining the streets. Due to a growing population of wage earners who did not own property, proponents of democracy organized a People s Convention and drafted a new constitution. It gave all adult white men the right to vote. When reformers proceeded to ratify their new constitution and inaugurate Thomas Dorr, Rhode Island s president, John Tyler, called on federal troops. The movement was unsuccessful and Thomas Dorr ended up spending nearly two years in prison for committing treason. The Dorr War made it clear how serious it was to exclude any group of white men from voting. This eventually led to the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Harappan Civilization, stretching from present day Afghanistan to Pakistan contained vast amounts of small communities. The society was very technologically advanced and somewhat modeled the fundamentals of the society we live in today. The Harappan society was one of the earliest to have a system of writing; however historians have still not interpreted them today. Nevertheless, the society left us numerous archaeological and architectural ruins that provide much information. Harappa, an Indus RiverValley that left us no written records, but only some remains helped us understand the society s urban planning, trade, lifestyle and mortality rate. From the remains that were left by the Harappan society; today archaeologists can understand the civilization s urban planning. In the last few years, archaeologists discovered major structures that belonged to the time period of 2600 B.C.E. These structures were made from baked bricks. These structures gave us clues about the material that was used from the planning of the city. From such remains, archaeologists were able to learn that house sand streets were laid out in a certain pattern, which was from North to South and East to West. There were multistoried houses that were found, giving us information that houses were present in the Harappan Civilization many like the ones today. There were also parts of ... She takes out my coloring book and some crayons and I get to work while a woman with a booming voice clicks through a PowerPoint. My mother never let me underestimate the value of an education. The potential causes and possible treatment of exercise addiction Unquestionably, physical activity complements the quality of life for an individual, while exercising on a regular basis results in many benefits. Nevertheless despite the great benefit of sport, many experts commonly agree that physical activity may be harmful. One of the unfavourable areas within sport, which is frequently examined by researchers, is exercise addiction. The predominance of exercise addiction is quite rare in reality, but when present conflicting consequences can be calamitous (De Coverley Veale, 1987; Szabo, 2007). Szabo (1998) proposed that those addicted to exercise will experience a more compelling withdrawal than dedicated exercisers. A comprehensive manner to distinguish between both sets of individuals may be through the actions and intentions for exercise of the individuals. Exercise addiction between an athlete which is healthy and an exercise addict may be sharing very similar levels of training; the difference is the mental approach and attitude taken by each individual. The individual addicted to exercise is unable to see the real value in unnecessary exercise and is resolute in pursuing his sport despite it being against his best interest. The definition of exercise addiction is complemented by six common symptoms of exercise addiction: mood modification, salience, withdrawal symptoms, relapse, tolerance and personal conflict (Brown, 1993; Griffiths, 2005). ... Dante shows quite a few characteristics but he went through his journey for himself because he needed to reflect on his past shames to look forward to a better future. Gilgamesh also went on his journey for himself to find immortality because he feared death and what his status/evil doings will bring him in the afterlife. Beowulfwent on his journey to save others and build his name which is more than what the others did. Going over each of the characteristics a heroin an epic needs beowulf has the most. Most epics have a noble or wealthy main character which fits gilgamesh and beowulf but not dante. Dante was a political man which may give him respect but does not make him noble or wealthy. Gilgamesh was a king giving him wealth and noble standing and beowulf was the nephew of a king made to be a warrior also giving him noble standing. Geography has impacted may civilizations throughout the years such as but not limited to, the Incas, the Mayans, the early hunter gatherer societies, the Chinese, the Egyptians, as well as the Indians. Egyptians were mainly able to survive because of the fact that the NileRiver was going through the center of their kingdom. The Nile was a main source of nourishment as well as a timetable, because the Egyptians knew when it would flood and when it would recede, so they planned their growing seasons according to the flooding of the Nile River. Egyptians were not the only well known culture to develop alongside the shores of a major river a Far East culture also developed. The Chinese empire did not necessarily start alongside a river, but that was where they most likely had the most amount of wealth in the region because that was where they grew the most amounts of crops, due to the fertile land around the yellow river. This influenced the growth of wealth based societies where the wealthy people would not live near the rivers, but instead in the mountains, and only the poor farmers who worked the land would live by the rivers because of the fertile land and the ability to grow crops. What Is Delormier Giddens Theory Of Structuration Introduction: Delormier, Frohlich, Potvin, (2009) used Giddens theory of structuration, specifically the concepts of social practice, the duality of the social structure, and agency to develop a conceptual framework in their research on food as a social practice. According to Giddens (1984) social practices are at the root of the constitution of both agent and society (ibid.: 1984:xxii); and social structures constitute rules and resources which actors draw upon during practice, creating both enabling and constraining conditions of practice (ibid.: 1984: xxii, 25). • 32. Fine Dining Steps Of Service Fine Dining Steps of Service Fine Dining is an experience that is unique in itself. The server makes each guest feel like they are special and the quality of service received reflects just that. Each step of service not only makes the guest feel welcome and appreciated, but also contributes to the entire experience. Without one element of this process going as expected, it can throw off the entire experience and turn a good one into a disaster. To have a good dining experience, a server must provide the following step of service to a guest: the meet and greet, taking the orders, the delivery of the meal, checking back, clearing of the table, dessert/coffee/tea, and delivery of the check. The first and most important step of service is the meet and greet. This is the server s first impression and can set the mood for the remainder of the guest dining experience. The server must always approach the table with warm welcoming smile, say hello, and introduce him /herself by name. Remember this smile needs to be genuine. The server should ask how the guests are doing and be sincere about it. If the introduction includes a first name, the guests can actually make a personal connection to the server. • 34. The Postal System As A Method Of Communication There are three separate theories available which can be identified that could be used to confirm that an enforceable agreement has been reached between parties using the postal system as a method of communication. These are, the information theory, whereby the offeror notifies the offeree that the letter of acceptance has been received. The receipt theory, which assumes a contract has been created on the receipt of a letter of acceptance and the dispatch theory, known also as the postal rule which confirms that a contract has been entered into at the point in time that the letter of acceptance is posted. Clearly, it is essential that when contracts are created using the postal system as a means of communication it must possible to determine at what point the agreement becomes legally enforceable. When using the postal system there is an inevitable risk that communications could be lost or delayed which, but for the postal rule would create uncertainty for the party who is providing acceptance of the offer. Therefore, unless the offeror had prescribed a specific or alternative method of communication it is the dispatch theory that is applied in English contract law regarding the acceptance of agreements that are made using the postal system, this confirms certainty in the mind of the offeree. This is a growing problem because if we do not increase activities such as prevention groups or getting the police involved in community programs in cities encouraging youth participation it could begin to rise again over a few more years. A fascinating waterway system designed to carry fresh water from the surrounding highlands into the heart of the city, the aqueduct system was considered highly advanced for its time. The invention and use of aqueducts helped to shape the culture and mold a way of life for ancient Rome. Motivation helps all living organism in the process of achieving their goals or targets. For example all professional athletes target is to be the best at what they do; one factor that distinguishes between wanting something and actually reaching it is the stimulus that moves the living organisms to do a certain action in order to reach their target or goal, which also could be defined as motivation. The second example is about animals where motivation is also an important factor in their lives. The most probable targets of animals are related to their basic instincts and their basic needs; as a small example of that is food which... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In performing such a process in a company; it is favorable for the company to know the possibilities and ways of reasoning that would work for each employee according to their targets and parts of interests; then the company would easily desire more and more from those whom they managed to motivate, moreover this process will always work in the benefit of both companies and employees. • 43. Four Factors of an Aircraft in Flight The human being is set apart from all other animals by an intelligent, reasoning mind. Another quality that humans seem to possess is an inherent drive to utilize that mind to achieve to recognize challenges and to attempt conquer them (Smith, 1992, p. 1). One of my favorite person that I used to read about in high school was Benjamin Franklin; one of the founding Father of the United States of America and the master mind behind the invention of electricity. As stated in the words of Smith, the curiosity of Franklin lead him to discover how electricity works. This same driven factor of human mind was what led the Wrights Brother to invent and fly the first power aircraft. The four forces that are acting on an aircraft in flight are: Lift, Weight, Thrust and Drag. The airplane stays up because it doesn t have the time to fall (Wrights Brothers). One of the unique quality/ characteristic that differentiate aircraft from all other vehicles is its ability to get up in the air and stay for a long period of time. The forcethat raises an object into the air is called lift. The force that acts against this lift force is called weight. The left principle states that in order for an object to be lifted off the ground, the weight of that object should be less than the air surrounding it. Now you might be asking, why is it that aircraft which is heavier than car fly but car don t? The answer to this question lies within the engineering of an aircraft. An aircraft has something ... • 44. Section 59 of the Crimes Act and a Parent s Right to... The change to Section 59 of the Crimes Act compromises a parent s right to discipline their child. Parents are in a position of authority in which they are responsible for shaping their children into respectful, law abiding citizens, and often a light smack to the hand or bottom is an effective way of teaching the right attitude and behaviour. If a child displays behaviour that goes against what their parents are teaching them, a light smack is often necessary in letting the child know what they are doing is wrong. Changing the Crimes Act will not stop serious physical abuse from happening to children. Research carried out in Christchurch has suggested that serious offences of child abuse occur as a result of parental personal and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Michele Wilkinson Smith (2007), a criminal lawyer who has argued on both sides of Section 59 in court deems the repeal unnecessary. In her own experience she has never seen a case where a child has been seriously abused go excused because of the reasonable force defence and it is likely that no New Zealand jury would find such serious abuse to be perfectly reasonable. It is unrealistic to assume a person who has seriously harmed a child will go unpunished, however parents who lightly smack will face serious consequences. Joanne Black (2007) agrees, saying the only effect of this change is that a parent who smacks a child in order to improve his or her behaviour breaks the law (p. 58). Light smacking to improve a child s behaviour is at the discretion of the parent, who is aiming to better their child, not seriously harm them. Naturally, the change to Section 59 does have a positive side, providing a step toward New Zealand becoming a less violent society. Removing the reasonable force defence gives parents the opportunity to think twice about the practices they use in correcting their child s behaviour, opting to not use a physical method. Children of this abuse are also less likely to go out and commit violent crimes as a result of the way they were brought up. In the long run, this change could alter the way parents treat their children, and therefore, cutting back on crime (Else, 2007). However, this is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. Parkinson s Disease And The Disease Parkinson s disease is a chronic disorder of the nervous system with a gradual onset that primarily affects the body s motor system. The symptoms of the disease are mainly caused by the death of dopamine producing cells in the midbrain. Dopamine is an important neurotransmitter that, among other things, is responsible for playing a role in how the brain controls bodily movements. Therefore, the cardinal symptoms of the disease are movement related, including tremor and rigid, jerky movements. Parkinson s is a progressive disease, meaning it gets worse over time, until it eventually leads to complete disability. Parkinson s disease produces both motor symptoms and nonmotor symptoms. There are four cardinal motor symptoms of Parkinson s: tremor, rigidity, bradykinesia (slow movements), and postural instability. Tremor is the most obvious symptom of Parkinson s, as well as the most common. The tremor is uncontrollable and is most noticeable when the limb is at rest; when the limb is in use, the tremor disappears. Often times, the tremor only affects the hand or foot on one side of the body, but it can eventually become bilateral. Rigidity is characterized as stiffness and resistance to movement in the limbs. The arms, legs, face, and back are areas commonly affected. Early on, rigidity can cause joint pain, often in the shoulder. Bradykinesia is one of the most common symptoms of Parkinson s. It is described as slowness and difficulty in initiating and making movements, especially repetitive movements and fine motor skills, such as writing. Bradykinesia greatly affects the ability of the Parkinson s sufferer to perform common activities of daily life, like getting dressed. According to Nolden (2015), postural instability is the imbalance and loss of righting reflexes. This is usually a symptom that shows up in the late stages of Parkinson s. Postural instability is linked with high rates of hip fractures in people with Parkinson s disease, due to increased falls. Aside from the four cardinal motor symptoms, there are secondary motor symptoms that go ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

By improving operational efficiency, AHA will be able to achieve greater long term success. The AHA would benefit from multiple lateral processes that would help execute on its strategic vision as well as day to day operations. An American Heart Walk event in Texas, for example, would use the WSA s model with a specialized CED overseeing event execution, but prior to that, EVPs and SVPs from several regions, by nature of their dual responsibility structure, would leverage the knowledge gained from AHW events across the entire country. At the same time, the community liaison, a new addition to the local office, would also benefit from the strategic coordination across all AHW events and would better represent the common vision and goals of the AHA. A second lateral process that promotes operational efficiency is e coordination. A central repository of volunteers, donors, event planning specifics and a detailed community profile will be a very valuable asset to the AHA. For example, having information on the fund raising and educational programs that were successful in an affluent community in one geographical region will provide focus when pursuing a similar community in another part of the country.
