Separation in the workforce between male and female jobs creates a setting of inequality and
instability in the work force, which limits certain career paths citizens should pursue and promotes an
idea of inequality in employment opportunities. In tradition, the man is the breadwinner of the family;
while this has changed, men still dominate many career paths. Once upon a time, only men were
allowed to play sports in high school. This had drastically changed, due to Title IX, a law that

MirrorMask is a fantasy/drama film that was released on September 30th, 2005. This movie was very
different from a normal fairy tale. This movie was about a girl named Helena, she worked in a circus
with her Mom and Dad and they barely got by financially. Helena didn t want to work in the circus
anymore, she wanted to be normal like everybody else. Helena is also an incredible artist, her room
was filled with artwork. When she falls asleep one day, she woke up in a magical land that was filled
with her drawings, the kingdom was her drawings. After finding out they need to get the mirrormask

At first on hearing we are doing a pig dissection I was pretty excited. I remember in seventh grade we
did a frog dissection. I was okay with it, but I thought the frog was to small. Moving around in the
frog was hard and was confusing. I was pretty excited about the pig dissection knowing that it will be
bigger than the frog. I was not scared or nerovus about this dissection at all as it is a nice way to learn

Sonnet 31 is an attempt to capture the sorrow and desolation experienced in heartache, through the
focal symbol of the poem, the moon. This acts as a metaphor for the narrator s deteriorated mental
state, evoking sympathy in the reader. Sidney s sonnet offers us an insight into the narrator s anguish,
brought into the reader s mind through his choice of form, rhyme and meter. Sonnet 31 forms a part of
Sidney s collection Astrophil and Stella, a sequence of 108 sonnets and 11 songs, telling the story of
the narrator Astrophil, chasing after his unrequited lover Stella. It has been said the sonnet sequence is
partly autobiographical; many believe it is based upon Sidney s own feelings for Lady Penelope Rich.
The name Astrophil translates to star crossed lover and Stella means star, the continuation of this
theme provides a route for all the sonnets to follow, Sonnet 31 being no exception as the reader
witnesses our narrator finding solace in the moon.
As a reader we become instantly aware of the metaphorical qualities the moon holds. The poem begins
With how sad steps, Oh Moon, thou climb st the skies, the pathetic fallacy here giving direction to the
rest of the poem. The notion of the moon coming up signifies a transition from day to night, light to
dark, perhaps revealing the movement of Astrophil s mental state, from one of peace to one of
frustration and confusion. Sad steps (l.1) further exposes this idea as the personification of the moon
becomes noticeable.
