Designing Pairwise Testing Tool, Constraints, Result And...
In the earlier chapter, a detail explanation of CBPTT development was discussed including the flow,
implementation, result and discussion of experiments conducted. This chapter concluded the research
work on CBPTT with additional features that can be applied to CBPTT in the future.
5.2 Conclusion
Since reliability issues have become one of the most concern issues in software development.
However by conducting software testing, it does not ensure free defect failure software but it can
increase the reliability of a software product. Although it is necessary to test the software thoroughly,
it is impossible to have exhaustive testing. This is the reason interaction testing have been the most
used testing. Especially pairwise testing which use two way interactions to find software defect. This
had become the driven force for this research. The aim of this research was to develop pairwise testing
tool, Constraints Based Pairwise Testing Tool (CBPTT), that can conduct pairwise testing with
constraints supports. Constraints are list of limitations and impossible combinations that can present in
a software system. CBPTT was developed to eliminate these constraints and further reduced the
resulted test cases. Survey on existing tool was conducted to help CBPTT implementation. The result
of the survey was discussed in literature review chapter. The result from the survey included the
available features of existing system that also support pairwise testing and constraints

Midgley s Idea Of Moral Relativism
We currently live in a society that is pushing towards the idea that no one should be discriminated
against. This includes discrimination over one s culture and beliefs. While this broad idea seems good,
it comes with unforeseen problems. In this essay, I am going to argue against Midgley s idea of moral
relativism and how their ideas create an unhealthy society leading towards anarchy. Moral relativism
is a prominent idea in philosophy that asks the question Who am I to judge? . This question focus
primarily on morals between different people and cultures. As different cultures have different values
and ways of life it stands that the morals between two cultures would vary, whether it be minimally or
vastly. Midgley believed it was impossible to understand other cultures way, and that if we wanted to
remain respectful and non discriminatory then we must not pass any form of judgement upon each
other. Moral relativism is a problematic idea that will lead to a global society with no rules. If it is
believed that you can not judge another for what they find morally acceptable, then it is not a far reach
to say that you can not stop another person from doing what they find morally acceptable as well.
With actions such as that, the world we live in would be drastically different from what it is now.
In the mid 1900s, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moral relativism focuses on the idea that you cannot judge someone s morals if they are different than
yours, leading to the problem that you cannot stop their actions since they are dictated by morals. Our
prison system is put in place to stop those who have performed actions we deem immoral. The
problem with this is that if we cannot deem any actions immoral then we can never place anyone in a
prison. This places those who have not done immoral deeds in an unsafe position where they must live

Sir Francis Drake Sir Francis Drake s circumnavigation of the globe made him the best royally
appointed naval captain of his time. Many saw Francis Drake as a pirate because he would plunder a
lot of Spanish fleets, but he always considered himself as an explorer. Francis Drake s life was nothing
short of dangerous and the way he lived it was adventurously and without regret. Sir Francis Drake
sets sail on his famous journey alongside four other ships. While many thought Francis Drake s
adventurous life was lived dangerously he also filled it with mystery, and there s nothing more

Taking the port of Cadiz completely by surprise, Drake sailed unimpeded into the harbor, destroyed an
ample amount of shipping, and occupied Cape Vincent; from there he was able to significantly reduce
the amount of supplies shipped from the Mediterranean to the Lisbon area. After a side trip to the
Azores where he managed to capture a handsome prize, Drake returned once more to England, having
seriously set back Philip of Spain s plans to assemble an armada against England. Back at home,
Drake unceasingly preached the need for naval preparedness against certain attack from Spain(Pirate

Before you ;can open the doors to your new business, you will need to choose a business entity. This
will be your identity for tax and other legal purposes. The entity that you choose will determine how
you are taxed, how much liability you have, and how you have to keep your records throughout the
year. Your business entity will also dictate how large your business will be able to grow, if you can
have investors, and how you will be viewed by the global market.
There are five standard business entity types, and each will have pros and cons from a business and

Great Gatsby Reflection
At the begging of the year, I had little knowledge to write an essay for this class, especially since we
did not have many guidelines. For my glorious moment paper, I changed a good amount of text. I
went back throwing, revising my paper and making changes. Overall, I changed a majority of my
sentence structures because the first final draft contained numerous bland versions. Many of my
sentences also had to be fixed in the begging so that they were not so repetitive. From there, I thought
it would have been a good idea to changing my opening and closing portions of my essays. I made my
introduction and my conclusion end in the same place so that it all ties together. I also made a large
amount of changes in my cause and effect essay. Reading and revising the paper, I noticed that the
effects were not evident. So, I changed my introduction. While changing my introduction, I noticed
that my body paragraphs did not fit. So, I went back through and decided to make all of my
paragraphs into something different. In dong so, I made my paper much stronger and I did not have to
keep stating how I came to be. I also wen back to the appositive, participial, and prepositional packets
we did and tried to use a variety of different structures. Finally, I also made large changing in my AP
Essay for The Great Gatsby. After rereading my paper I realized that my paper could be much
stronger. In order to make my essay stranger I had to change and critique my introduction. In

Rockefeller and Carnegie
Rockefeller and Carnegie In the nineteenth century two of the greatest entrepreneurs were born. These
two men, Andrew Carnegie and John D. Rockefeller epitomized the word monopoly, by becoming the
biggest industry giants of their time. Carnegie was the leader of the steel industry, while Rockefeller
controlled oil. Both of these men were similar; they came from humble beginnings and showed
interest in their careers at a young age. On November 25, 1835 William Carnegie had his first child
named Andrew in Dunfermline, Scotland. Andrew Carnegie faced poverty most of his young life; this
was because of the era called industrialization, which replaced the once successful hand weaver,
William Carnegie with a steamed powered loom in 1847. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Death Of Julius Caesar
Due to the writing and works of William Shakespeare, the death of Julius Caesar became the most
famous assassination in history. The death of Julius Caesar is placed in full context of Rome s civil
wars by eminent historian Barry Strauss. Moreover, the assassination itself was a complexly layered
plan that was a direct result of Caesar s power and leadership choices leading up to the fateful day.
These key events leading up to the Ides of March and the aftermath that followed are important to the
immense effect Caesar s death had on Rome, and the subsequent historical impact of Rome s demise.
In the height of Rome Caesar formed a political alliance with Pompey that dominated Roman politics.
Furthermore, Caesar s victories in the Gallic War and success of extending Roman territories granted
him ample military capacity. Therefore putting him in an unrivalled position of power and influence.
After assuming control of government, Caesar began a program of social and governmental reforms.
Caesar gave Rome renewed hope and was a leader to the middle and poor classes of ancient Rome.
Although, many historians still debate the details of the highly orchestrated murder, it is universally
apparent that many were involved in planning and carrying out the act. The intricate assassination was
not the work of just one man or women, but a collection of senators who conspired together for what
they believed the greater good. For the senators feared that Caesar, with his new found power,

Millenials Research Paper
In today s society millenials are often viewed by the media as selfish, irresposible and lazy. On social
media sites such as facebook , twitter, and instagram millenials are viewed as having some uncommon
behavior. Older generations such as baby boomers are viewed as the opposite of millenials. After the
second world war the job opportunities started to expand. Statisics show that unemployment was
around 7% throughout the baby boomers era. In the present day unemployment rates are around 5%
and rising. I agree with this claim because I believe that the new technology such as smartphones ,
mass media and networking are revolutionizing the way millenials mentally think and their social
behavior. The advancement in the development of technology has created new ways to connect people

smartphones are useful. Smartphones has gps navigation to guide people places they never been

has constructed a way to get peoples attention through propaganda. Television is one of the primary
methods targeting different audiences especially millenials. In an ny daily article by david hickley he
states that the average American watches 5 hours of tv everyday . Programs that are a bad influence on
millenials consist of drugs use, violence and sexual references. They don t understand that it s fantasy
and not reality. While watching television the brain enters an hypnotic state. The visuals and
information received hits the subconscious mind altering old beliefs and create new ones. Advertising

Homework for Chapter 20 Essay
1. How much of our global energy supply do nuclear power, biomass energy, and hydroelectric power
contribute? How much of our global electricity do these three conventional energy alternatives
generate?
Biomass provides 10.8% of global primary energy use, nuclear power provides 6.5%, and hydropower
provides 2.2% of global primary energy use. Nuclear power generates 15.8% of the world s electricity,
and hydropower generates 15.9%.
2. Describe how nuclear fission works. How do nuclear plant engineers control fission and prevent a
runaway chain reaction? In nuclear fission, atoms of uranium 235(any unstable nucleus with a
sufficiently high number of nuclear mass) are bombarded with neutrons. Ordinarily neutrons move too

3. In terms of greenhouse gas emissions, how does nuclear power compare to coal, oil, and natural
gas? How do hydropower and biomass energy compare?
Using conventional fission, nuclear power plants generate electricity without creating air pollution
from stack emissions as the energy is released from the breaking of the nucleus rather than the
combustion of the organic compounds in the fossil fuels that create carbon dioxide . In contrast,
combusting coal, oil, or natural gas emits sulfur dioxide(fossil fuels contain both organic and non
organic compounds that contain sulphur) that contributes to acidic deposition, particulate matter that
threatens human health, and carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that contribute to global
climate change. One might consider the indirect greenhouse emission of actually building a nuclear
fission reactor and also the resources that are required to obtain and purify the uranium essential for
the plant to run. Even after considering all the steps involved in building plants and generating power,
researchers from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have calculated that nuclear power
lowers emissions 4 150 times below the emissions from fossil fuel combustion . IAEA scientists
estimate that at current global rates of usage, nuclear

The Wonderful Workforce
Separation in the workforce between male and female jobs creates a setting of inequality and
instability in the work force, which limits certain career paths citizens should pursue and promotes an
idea of inequality in employment opportunities. In tradition, the man is the breadwinner of the family;
while this has changed, men still dominate many career paths. Once upon a time, only men were
allowed to play sports in high school. This had drastically changed, due to Title IX, a law that
provided opportunities to different career paths ( Mythbusting ). But, on a professional sport level,
women are not seen playing in the NFL or the NBA. Women have their own leagues, like the Women
s Basketball Association. There are blended sports, but, for the most part, men and women are
separate. The main argument is that women are not as physically able as men and therefore, they
should not compete with men. People see this separation as fair; but, this gender separation will lead
to men controlling the sports world (Faulmueller 1 2). However, the amount of women in professional
coaching careers is diminutive. A mere two to three percent of male teams are coached by females and
in women s sports, the amount of female coaches has plummeted forty two percent; female coaches
already earn less than their counterparts and many are now struggling to find new careers (Waldron 2.

Mirror Mask Movie Analysis
MirrorMask is a fantasy/drama film that was released on September 30th, 2005. This movie was very
different from a normal fairy tale. This movie was about a girl named Helena, she worked in a circus
with her Mom and Dad and they barely got by financially. Helena didn t want to work in the circus
anymore, she wanted to be normal like everybody else. Helena is also an incredible artist, her room
was filled with artwork. When she falls asleep one day, she woke up in a magical land that was filled
with her drawings, the kingdom was her drawings. After finding out they need to get the mirrormask
to save the kingdom, she embarks on an adventure to save the kingdom and along the way, she meets a
guy, that accompanies alongside with her. Is it true love? From watching MirrorMask, this movie had
different elements than a regular fairy tale. It didn t have an evil stepmother, an absentee father and
not really a prince charming at the end of the film. I would say, this movie was mostly about growing
up and realizing that even if you don t have much, you should still be grateful for what you have.
Helena was very ungrateful she had two parents that were always there for her, they didn t have a lot
of money, but they had each other and Helena didn t seem to understand that. Throughout the film in a
way she matured and learned a lesson, you don t really learn lessons at the end of fairy tales, you
usually just end up with a new husband. While on a quest to find the mirror mask, she

Treatment Of Women In The Taming Of The Shrew
The Taming of the Shrew written by William Shakespeare obtains various interpretations that are
viewed as debatable. The novel involves men attempting to ask for Baptista s blessing to marry his
youngest daughter, Bianca. However, the oldest daughter Katherine was not fancied by most men
because of her blunt personality and feisty attitude. Many readers, especially feminists, argue that the
Taming of the Shrew revolves around the idea of how men oppress women by the way men find Kat s
attitude as unappealing, how Petruchio attempts to tame Kat, and at the end of the novel when the
three married men challenge each other to see which wife is the most obedient.
Kehler s Statement on What is Expected of Women The youngest sister, Bianca, was adored by dozens
of men because she was quite the opposite of her older sister, Katherine. Katherine came off as harsh
because she spoke whatever was on her mind which is why men preferred to ask for Bianca s hand in
marriage. Bianca was obedient and most importantly kept her thoughts to herself. Bianca s soft and
quiet personality did not threaten men in the slightest; therefore, the line to ask for her hand in
marriage grew. Dorothea Kehler argues, The explicit and implicit subjects of this play arranged
marriages, the authority of fathers and husbands, the obedience expected from daughters and ... Show

that they expected nothing from Katherine was because of her well known rebellious personality, yet

Stricter Gun Control Laws
Do stricter gun control laws, equal less violence and death rates in America?
Gun control (or firearms regulation) is the set of laws or policies that regulate the manufacture, sale,
transfer, possession, modification, or use of firearms by civilians (Wikipedia). Some presume that this
means banning guns. In actuality, gun control only acts to protect citizens through enforcing the
appropriate use of firearms; it does not ban the weapon. By implementing stricter gun laws and
regulations, there would be a large decrease in death rates and help prevent violence in America.
For instance, the United States Constitution Second Amendment declares that everyone has the right
to bear arms . The United States Constitution was written with the intention of securing all United
States citizens basic rights. Its purpose is to outline the laws of this country by mandating the powers
of the people and what the United States government considers acceptable. Despite this, people feel
the introduction of stricter gun control laws would deny them their sense of safety by violating their
right to defend themselves by the law of the Second Amendment. By allowing everyone including
criminals the ability to gain ownership of a weapon, increases violence and death rates in America.
Therefore, stricter gun control laws and regulations should be implemented. Furthermore, many
people feel that guns are not causing the problems, people that are using these weapons are. This is
partially true.

14000 Military Job Opportunities For Women Essay
The Defense Department recently announced new policies that will open more than 14,000 military
job opportunities to women. Which seems like a great step except that more than 200,000 positions
will still remain exclusive to men, from front line infantry positions to high level special operations
roles. States Dani Moritz from The Muse. (Mortiz) Women have been thrown out of spotlight when it
came to genuine positions. Does this shout disparity for women, as well as stereotyping and it for the
most part tosses women s rights ideal out of the window?
Women began to climb the ladder and finally became equal to men, well almost. Women s rights
include, but is not limited to positions that any man can hold, promotions that were not allowed
beforehand last but not least socially and legal equality. As women, we can t continue to yell
inequality when we are not on the same playing field as men. We, women, have more leverage than
the men. Aspiring to be like men would require us to also go the same extra mile that the male has to
also. Women s right is not for us to be equal while also being held on a pedestal at the same time.
Equality goes both ways, it is for us, as well as men. The inequality of the military has men doing the
double of what women do because they are seen as being mentally and physically stronger. This
relates to the requirements of the military that they have in place which indeed need to be changed for
it to be deemed as an equal service. This identifies

Healthy And Healthy Lifestyle
As educators, we dedicate our careers to pour into the lives of our students. We strive to create the best
possible learning environment for our students, but we are missing the mark in one crucial area:
creating a classroom environment that promotes a healthy and physically active lifestyle. Students
spend countless hours sitting in the classroom with little opportunities beyond PE and recess to be
physically active. We should be just as concerned with our students physical well being as we are for
their academic progress. The lessons that we teach our students will follow them for a lifetime and
will impact who they will become as adults. If we set the stage now to promote making healthy
choices, we help give our students the key to living a healthy lifestyle as an adult. Children should
participate in moderate to vigorous physical activity for 60 minutes a day or more, but studies show
that most children are not meeting this goal (R. Washington, 2005). Childhood obesity is at an all time
high. Children who are obese are at a much higher risk of being obese as an adult, which can lead to
many life threatening diseases such as heart disease and cancer. If a child has positive role models that
value health and fitness it can have a great impact on their life. For example, if a child has a parent or
parents who value physical activity they are two times more likely to value physical activity as an
adult. Teachers often spend more time each week than many parents do with

what makes an excellent film Essay
What makes an excellent film?
It took me a little while to come up with an answer to, What makes an excellent film? There really is
no answer, actually. I believe that an excellent film is within the eyes and emotions of the audience.
After researching and discovering what actually won Oscars and Golden Globe awards, it came down
to what the people thought, and the popularity of a film. It is extremely hard to predict what will win
these awards before the movie is even released to the public.
Before really thinking about the subject, some obvious traits of what I would consider an excellent
film would be superior acting, beautiful scenery, etc., such as many present categories in the Academy
or Golden Globe Awards. Of course I could ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The only other time that this had happened was in the 1950 s, for Ben Hur. These definitely have
something to do with what makes an excellent film, but I also believe that the personal connection and
emotions that someone has with a film is just as important.
I feel that the emotional connection that people make with a film is, in most cases, an extremely
important quality that directors can emphasize on in /their work. Whether it is a realistic movie that is
based off of a true story, or a children s Disney movie, anyone can experience a sense of a character s
point of view. Depending on the type of film (horror, suspense, comedy, drama, etc.), this emotional
connection can vary among different people. In a classic Disney film such as Bambi, children can
relate to Bambi. They can easily understand the type of experiences that he goes through such as
having friends (Thumper, a joyous rabbit, and Flower, a loving skunk), playing on an icy pond, and
even going through an emotional event of losing a loved one (the death of Bambi s mother).
In general, people rarely want to watch films that they know they won t enjoy. This is why there are so
many types of films, and different people have different views on what makes an excellent film . The

Wordsworth s Hope For Humans And Nature
Wordsworth s Hope for Humans and Nature
Does anyone fully understand why people go for walks through the woods to try to relax? William
Wordsworth believed that nature was a key that unlocked the soul trapped in the human body. In his
poem, I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud, he described how free his soul felt when immersed in nature.
Wordsworth loved nature and wanted the rest of the human race to become conscious of nature s
charm on the human soul. Wordsworth explained how he wanted humans to become more involved in
nature by using peaceful metaphors, exciting personification, and a repetition of happiness and hope
throughout this work.
Wordsworth was a romantic poet throughout the 1800 s. Romantic poetry was marked by heightened
emotion and sentiment; a strong sense of individualism; a respect for nature, history and mysticism;
and a return to first person lyric poems, (Mandell). As many of the poems in the romantic time period,
this is a first person lyric. The speaker of the lyrical poem is Wordsworth s soul when he is in nature.
Nature was a crucial part of his life, as he would go on long trips across the country to spend copious
amounts of time in nature. For example, before his final semester, he set out on a walking tour of
Europe, an experience that influenced both his poetry and political sensibilities. (William
Wordsworth). During majority of these escapades, he wrote many poems similar to this. Wordsworth
wrote about nature and how happy he was when

Luther Reflection
In the Freedom of Christians Luther states: The Word of God cannot be received and cherished by any
works whatever but only by faith (page 10 line 16). The term works, according to Luther is any type
of action a person performs in their life. The type of action can be a spectrum from being a robber to
being a volunteer for helping the poor. The work a person performs in their life, will not determine
whether they will be saved or not. The only way a person receives faith is through their internal or the
spiritual self. Even though, a person has done numerous inferior actions, in the past they still have a
chance of being saved by Faith. Furthermore, Luther clarifies that a person who is saved internally by
faith, should make an effort to better their outer self by giving back and helping others by means of
volunteering or community service. According to Luther, a Christian has the spiritual part and the
bodily part. The spiritual part can also be called the inner or new man and the bodily part can also be
called the carnal or old man. Apostle Paul, in the Bible, explains the reason behind the two different
aspects to the Christian life: Though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is renewed
every day (Apostal Gal [:17]. Looking closely at the human life, what Apostle Paul says makes sense
about how a person would age day by day, but the person would also, at the same time, learn
something new every day. In both of these aspects, Luther shows that each

Women s Rights Are Human Rights Speech
When First Lady Hillary Clinton delivered her speech Women s Rights Are Human Rights at the
United Nations 4th World Conference in 1995, she focused on giving voice to the inequality of
women in countries around the world. Hoping to raise awareness about women s rights Clinton says,
We are focusing world attention on issues that matter most in our lives the lives of women and their
families. She expands on the statement by helping the men identify with the women in their lives such
as their mothers, wives, sisters, and daughters. Hillary effectively persuades the audience of delegates,
government officials, and people from around the world to identify with the need to empower,
strengthen and support women in their lives. In this speech, Hillary uses ethos, logos, pathos, and
repetition to successfully deliver a compelling argument for revolution. Admittedly, Hilary Clinton has
spoken around the world about the challenges that women have faced. However, it is the continued
struggle of American women that inspires and fuels her passion and fight for equality in this male
dominated culture. Also, while married to bill Clinton who was actively involved in women s right,
Hilary advocated for a standard of equality that embrace all colors and cultures. . Clinton establishes

Both these professions expect the same high standards when it comes to education and training.
Nursing and Social Work both have requirements for continued professional development and lifelong
learning. It is essential that Nurses and Social workers keep a record of their training throughout their
careers.
To be able to remain working and practicing as a nurse or a midwife you must keep your skills and
knowledge up to date through lifelong learning. This requires that nurses complete 450 hours of
registered practice along with 35 hours of learning activities every three years along with the annual
fee of £100. Medicines, treatments and equipment are continuously changing so it s important that
nurses keep up to date to ensure that patients are getting the best available care. You must take part in
appropriate learning and practice activities that maintain and develop you competence and
performance (NMC, 2008 p6).
Social Worker s must undertake relevant training to maintain and improve your knowledge and skills

The International Criminal Court As An Advocate For Peace
The International Criminal Court as Both Mediator and Arbiter in Conflicts
Paul Daniel Thornton
Dr. Lealle Ruhl
POLI 1145 Peace and Conflict Studies
Wednesday, November 16, 2016
INTRODUCTION In the pursuit of positive peace for the global community, certain mechanisms
are necessary in order to better protect human rights and resolve interstate conflicts. Prior to the events
of World War II, a cogent set of laws defining those human rights, much less violations therein were
never heard at an international scale. The International Criminal Court has the role as both appellate
for justice and voice for peace in the international community but has not yet resolve the contradictory
ends of both roles. That contradictory end is that many countries proclaim the necessity of the
International Criminal Court as an advocate for conflict resolution and peace advocacy while being
resist or outright antagonistic towards the court when their own state has committed those same
crimes. To the ends of defending basic universal rights, the International Criminal Court (hereafter
ICC) serves that capacity when state level systems cannot or will not act accordingly. Initially, this
was seen following World War II with the Nuremberg trials in response to the atrocities committed by
Nazi Germany. However in more contemporary history, the ICC was formed to in response to the
events in the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda. These tribunals were unprecedented, not only in their

War Quotes From Things Fall Apart
Justice
The war was finally over. For months and years, battles had raged across our kingdom. They had
ravaged the land, destroying homes and villages. People went hungry as fires devoured any crops that
the enemy might be able to access. Fires still burned all across the kingdom, smouldering, but not yet
extinguished. Some days, it seemed the sky itself was afire. People had to run from their homes, men
hurried to join the fighting, and families were broken apart. Some had thought that the war would
never end. Hopes were dashed as battles were fought with no clear victor. There was no reason to
plant crops, to raise a family, or to hope. The war had taken almost everything we had.
But it was over. We had defeated the rebel army and captured their commander. Then, he knelt before
me. I stood over him with my sword drawn. It was my right, but more so, my duty, to bring my king
his head, so all could see what happens to those who rebel.
I paused, looking at him carefully. My mind spun with questions. How was it possible that one man s
ambition could destroy an entire kingdom? Tear apart families? Condemn people to hardship? I
suppose we should have known. Ever since he was a young man, he had to make things right. Even as
a child, he was sometimes foolish in his pursuit of justice. But who could have foreseen that this ...

The Impact Of European Economies On The European Economy
To address the question as to how financially interlinked is Europe is to ask the extent to which what
happens in one European country has a financial effect on another European country. Through this
essay GDP will be used as the primary measure of the strength of an economy. Some may argue that
this is not the sole measure: there are many other factors, which come into the strength of an economy
such as unemployment, government spending and consumption. Furthermore the statistics
surrounding GDP may themselves be inaccurate and hold distortions since it doesn t take into account
distribution of income and hidden economies such as the black market. However, it is easiest to look
primarily at GDP and seek to examine the extent to which European economies GDP move in harness.
This essay will also look at the reasons behind similarities and differences in individual European
GDP movements and the efforts of European authorities to encourage Europe to be more financially
interlinked.
It s broadly assumed that the European economies tends to move in the same direction, be that due to
being geographically or politically linked. Commentators tend to comment on Europe, US and Asia as
major trading blocs with the assumption that Europe is interlinked. International companies will group
together the European results and see them as one when assessing a year s performance. While these
approaches may be being deployed for convenience, those adopting this technique generally move on

How Does Liesel Use Language In The Book Thief
In the novel The Book Thief, written by Markus Zusak, there is a strong presence surrounding words.
I was amazed by this presence through Liesel s relationship to books, the power of words, and
language that is affected by the Holocaust. I was amazed by how Liesel overcomes Hitler s
suppression and teaches others about language and words. The presence of words is shown through
Liesel s relationship to books. We see Liesel develop throughout the novel from a powerless girl to a
more mature, empowered girl, this is, in part, due to her relationship with books. Liesel s first

The Causes Of The Cultural Revolution Of China
Revolution: the deconstruction phase in the circle of societal reconstruction. In most cases, the society
rebuilds itself, improves, takes mistakes from the past, and makes sure to establish itself as something
new, distancing itself from its past faults. However, that is not always the case. The cultural revolution
of China, lasting from 1966 1976, was a revolution unlike many others; it resulted in the destruction of
traditional Chinese culture, as well as the reshaping of the Chinese political mentality.
Mao Zedong, the chairman of the Communist Party of China, was the chief instigator of the
revolution. Much of his motivations stemmed from his poor relationships with other party leaders.
This tension with the other members was caused by the Great Leap Forward, an attempt by Mao to
increase agricultural and industrial production in China within a very short span of time. This resulted
in the overworking of farmers, a famine with an estimated 40 million deaths, and a disgrace for Mao
(Ramzy). Even his intended successor, Liu Shaoqi, who was groomed to perfection by Mao himself,
turned his back on him after the disastrous attempt at reforming the agricultural industry. However,
due to Mao s well placed use of propaganda, he managed to climb back to power, establish a loyal
base, and spread his ideology across China. He believed the Communist Party to be corrupt and need
to be cleansed of those poisoned by intellectualism. Liu Shaoqi, the newly elected president of China,

Scarface Film Analysis
The Gangster film Scarface (DePalma) is about the rise and eventual fall of Cuban immigrant, Tony
Montana. Throughout the film the viewer witnesses how Tony Montana goes from a criminal in Cuba
to a drug overlord in America. The average viewer cannot connect to the arc of Tony Montana. But,

DePalma chooses purposefully to have a hyper masculine, narcissistic, megalomaniac immigrant as

American dream. By utilizing various filming techniques, DePalma shows how the American dream is
available for everyone. DePalma utilizes zooming and film cuts to show how the American dream is
for everyone. Scarface, following the traditional film three act narrative structure, ends it second act
with Tony Montana immediately after executing his old boss. The camera opens on a close up of Tony
Montana. The camera then cuts to a shot of a moving blimp saying, The World is Yours . Before the
blimp s message can move to an advertisement, the camera then cuts back to Tony Montana, holds for
a few seconds, the zooms out to a long shot encompassing the entire house. DePalma purposefully
chooses to film this scene this way. Opening on a close up of Tony Montana show the audience that he
is the focus of the scene. When the camera cuts to the slogan on the blimp the audience enters the eyes
of Tony Montana for cut. They see the slogan the same way Tony Montana sees it. When the camera
zooms out and shows the entire house and Tony Montana s new wife, the audience understands that
Tony Montana now has everything he could ever want. By keeping Tony Montana in the center of the
frame, the audience can remember Tony Montana from the beginning of the film and see how far he
has come. The audience can then see that Tony Montana has achieved the American dream. DePalma
utilizes zooming and film cuts to show how the American dream is for everyone. In addition to

Competition And Predation Play An Important Role
Coexistence has been happening among many species since the beginning of time throughout nature.
The way species exist is of great complexity as many factors such as: competition and predation play
an important role (Chase et al. 2002; Holt 1984; Paine 1966). Ecosystems, communities and
populations all face competition between their species. Studies are constantly being done to show how
different species survive together or die trying and what is it that they are fighting to survive over.
Different habitats, predator, prey, and so many other factors play a role in the survival of species like
protists. Many laboratory studies have been done on two protists, Paramecium aurelia and
Paramecium caudatum, to see different aspects of their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The prey will go slam down on the ground in seconds and be devoured in minutes by the lion. The
lion is allelopathy at its best because there is competition over survival and territory with animals of
this nature. Territory can be a limited resource depending on the time of year and the environment as a
whole, trees and brush being chopped down pose a problem when it comes to sneaking up on prey.
Gause started experimenting on protists to observe their development and observe their survival
ability together (Gause). Paramecium can be found in many places: wet areas like lakes and rivers or
dry areas such as those of trees and soil. Gause set out to experiment with Paramecium aurelia and
Paramecium caudatum to determine if they fit the competitive exclusion theory that he came up with
(Gause 1935). The class was given both parameciums to experiment with for the validity of
coexistence. The competitive exclusion theory begs the question, can two species coexist together
over a resource or will one of them be driven to extinction? Gause may have been the leader to start
the protists experiment but he wasn t the only one to question competition. Gill had questioned Gause
s theory and decided to do his own research. Gill experimented on two species pure and mixed
cultures of Paramecium aurelia. After experimenting Gill discovered that Paramecium aurelia did not
match up to Gause s theory and did not compete over a limited resource instead

Gender And Technology Has Become A Important Factor Within...
Gender and technology has become a very important factor within today s society, as it reflects upon
the overlaps between gender, digital technologies and democracy. Technology has presented both
genders in provocative ways that tends to lead to sexual harassment and then for political action to end
gender based violence. This then becomes essential and fundamental to the working of and towards a
healthy democracy. The term Cyberfeminism has been developed throughout the previous years as
feminists who are interested in exploiting with technologies, such as the Internet and cyber space think
it is a vehicle of freedom from the dissolution of sex and gender. An example of online digital media
that illustrates the case of gender of Cyberfeminism is the online media campaign called Free The
Nipple. This essay will firstly describe this cyberfeminism campaign and how it is relevant towards
gender and technology. Then it will examine how digital media can be used as a form of resistance
against stereotypes and ideological assumptions in relation to the role of women in contemporary
society. Thus the difference between men and women become relevant to these media phenomena and
is of importance for gender patterns when considering it in relation to the Internet. (Bimber, 3)
On December 12th, 2014, was the initial release of Free The Nipple campaign, which is and/or was
targeting all kinds of women from around the world to empower them and to be apart of the equality
movement.

Gradually, I became more interested in reading English books; I am most interested in modern
literature such as Da Vinci Code written by Dan Brown and many others. I consider myself a lucky
student; after getting the certificate, the chair of our department deemed that due to my English
proficiency I could qualify to be part of a study abroad program. Even though I only had little amount
of time to prepare but I studied very hard to pass the required score in TOEFL and got the full amount
scholarship, most important thing became one of the exchange students who went studying abroad in
Pittsburg State University. August 2011, the most special and most meaningful year of my life started
off. I got to know students from different countries during the year in the United States. Besides
broadening my horizon, I also tried to show and explain to my new friends how beautiful and
wonderful our culture is. I believe I have become a person who is more independent and mature. I can
now face my own flaws and make amends of my mistakes. Besides facing my own flaws, I am willing

excellence on English, I wish to become fluent and accustom with Korean and acquire Korean related

Frog Dissection
At first on hearing we are doing a pig dissection I was pretty excited. I remember in seventh grade we
did a frog dissection. I was okay with it, but I thought the frog was to small. Moving around in the
frog was hard and was confusing. I was pretty excited about the pig dissection knowing that it will be
bigger than the frog. I was not scared or nerovus about this dissection at all as it is a nice way to learn
about other animals and species that live on Earth. The external anatomy of the pig was quite
interesting when we first saw it. The umbilical cord was large and long, it was wrapped around the pig
s back legs. The skin of the pig was wrinkly. Beneath the chin, the pig had a small little collection of
hairs, making it look like a beard.

Metaphors In Sidney s Sonnet 31
Sonnet 31 is an attempt to capture the sorrow and desolation experienced in heartache, through the
focal symbol of the poem, the moon. This acts as a metaphor for the narrator s deteriorated mental
state, evoking sympathy in the reader. Sidney s sonnet offers us an insight into the narrator s anguish,
brought into the reader s mind through his choice of form, rhyme and meter. Sonnet 31 forms a part of
Sidney s collection Astrophil and Stella, a sequence of 108 sonnets and 11 songs, telling the story of
the narrator Astrophil, chasing after his unrequited lover Stella. It has been said the sonnet sequence is
partly autobiographical; many believe it is based upon Sidney s own feelings for Lady Penelope Rich.
The name Astrophil translates to star crossed lover and Stella means star, the continuation of this
theme provides a route for all the sonnets to follow, Sonnet 31 being no exception as the reader
witnesses our narrator finding solace in the moon.
As a reader we become instantly aware of the metaphorical qualities the moon holds. The poem begins
With how sad steps, Oh Moon, thou climb st the skies, the pathetic fallacy here giving direction to the
rest of the poem. The notion of the moon coming up signifies a transition from day to night, light to
dark, perhaps revealing the movement of Astrophil s mental state, from one of peace to one of
frustration and confusion. Sad steps (l.1) further exposes this idea as the personification of the moon
becomes noticeable.

The Great Balloon Chair Ride Summary
The story about Larry Walters, a thirty three year old truck driver who wished he could fly, and The
Great Balloon Chair Ride occurred in 1982. One summer afternoon, Larry Walters decided to attach
weather balloons to his ordinary old aluminum lawn chair and aviated around the Los Angeles area.
Walters ascended 16,000 feet in the air with a lawn chair, seat belt, an altimeter, a compass, flashlight
and extra batteries, beef jerky, a California road map, and a first aid kit. During his ascent, he dropped
his glasses and the BB gun he was planning on using to pop the balloons to control his altitude, which
resulted in him crash landing and blacking out a neighborhood. Larry s Great Balloon Chair Ride
earned him great fame, landing him interviews ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The story takes place when Fulghum, the author, is left to babysit eighty children seven to ten years
old, in the church social hall. He decides to organize a game called Giants, Wizards, and Dwarfs to
keep the kids entertained and involve some of their intellectual decision making skills. As the game
reached its climax, Fulghum yelled at the children to decide whether they were a giant, wizard, or
dwarf. While the groups frenzied and consulted, a little girl emerged from the crowd and asked
Fulghum, Where do the Mermaids stand? In shock of the girl s response, Fulghum took a long pause
to think and in the end he decided that the Mermaids stands next to the king, which was Fulghum
himself. The meaning of this quote is that there will be someone, somewhere, who doesn t accept the
norms and is defined by their category. The mermaid the author refers to in the quote would be the
little girl and how she was that one person who wasn t afraid to be different. To add on, those who are
different, tend to stand out among the others. I chose to analyze this quote because I kind of relate to
the girl in the quote. Just like the girl or mermaid, people (and myself) label me as out of the norm
because I have a weird sense of humor. In conclusion, being different isn t so

  • 2. Designing Pairwise Testing Tool, Constraints, Result And... In the earlier chapter, a detail explanation of CBPTT development was discussed including the flow, implementation, result and discussion of experiments conducted. This chapter concluded the research work on CBPTT with additional features that can be applied to CBPTT in the future. 5.2 Conclusion Since reliability issues have become one of the most concern issues in software development. However by conducting software testing, it does not ensure free defect failure software but it can increase the reliability of a software product. Although it is necessary to test the software thoroughly, it is impossible to have exhaustive testing. This is the reason interaction testing have been the most used testing. Especially pairwise testing which use two way interactions to find software defect. This had become the driven force for this research. The aim of this research was to develop pairwise testing tool, Constraints Based Pairwise Testing Tool (CBPTT), that can conduct pairwise testing with constraints supports. Constraints are list of limitations and impossible combinations that can present in a software system. CBPTT was developed to eliminate these constraints and further reduced the resulted test cases. Survey on existing tool was conducted to help CBPTT implementation. The result of the survey was discussed in literature review chapter. The result from the survey included the available features of existing system that also support pairwise testing and constraints ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Midgley s Idea Of Moral Relativism We currently live in a society that is pushing towards the idea that no one should be discriminated against. This includes discrimination over one s culture and beliefs. While this broad idea seems good, it comes with unforeseen problems. In this essay, I am going to argue against Midgley s idea of moral relativism and how their ideas create an unhealthy society leading towards anarchy. Moral relativism is a prominent idea in philosophy that asks the question Who am I to judge? . This question focus primarily on morals between different people and cultures. As different cultures have different values and ways of life it stands that the morals between two cultures would vary, whether it be minimally or vastly. Midgley believed it was impossible to understand other cultures way, and that if we wanted to remain respectful and non discriminatory then we must not pass any form of judgement upon each other. Moral relativism is a problematic idea that will lead to a global society with no rules. If it is believed that you can not judge another for what they find morally acceptable, then it is not a far reach to say that you can not stop another person from doing what they find morally acceptable as well. With actions such as that, the world we live in would be drastically different from what it is now. In the mid 1900s, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For my glorious moment paper, I changed a good amount of text. I went back throwing, revising my paper and making changes. Overall, I changed a majority of my sentence structures because the first final draft contained numerous bland versions. Many of my sentences also had to be fixed in the begging so that they were not so repetitive. From there, I thought it would have been a good idea to changing my opening and closing portions of my essays. I made my introduction and my conclusion end in the same place so that it all ties together. I also made a large amount of changes in my cause and effect essay. Reading and revising the paper, I noticed that the effects were not evident. So, I changed my introduction. While changing my introduction, I noticed that my body paragraphs did not fit. So, I went back through and decided to make all of my paragraphs into something different. In dong so, I made my paper much stronger and I did not have to keep stating how I came to be. • 8. The Death Of Julius Caesar Due to the writing and works of William Shakespeare, the death of Julius Caesar became the most famous assassination in history. The death of Julius Caesar is placed in full context of Rome s civil wars by eminent historian Barry Strauss. Moreover, the assassination itself was a complexly layered plan that was a direct result of Caesar s power and leadership choices leading up to the fateful day. These key events leading up to the Ides of March and the aftermath that followed are important to the immense effect Caesar s death had on Rome, and the subsequent historical impact of Rome s demise. In the height of Rome Caesar formed a political alliance with Pompey that dominated Roman politics. Furthermore, Caesar s victories in the Gallic War and success of extending Roman territories granted him ample military capacity. Therefore putting him in an unrivalled position of power and influence. After assuming control of government, Caesar began a program of social and governmental reforms. Caesar gave Rome renewed hope and was a leader to the middle and poor classes of ancient Rome. Although, many historians still debate the details of the highly orchestrated murder, it is universally apparent that many were involved in planning and carrying out the act. The intricate assassination was not the work of just one man or women, but a collection of senators who conspired together for what they believed the greater good. In terms of greenhouse gas emissions, how does nuclear power compare to coal, oil, and natural gas? How do hydropower and biomass energy compare? Using conventional fission, nuclear power plants generate electricity without creating air pollution from stack emissions as the energy is released from the breaking of the nucleus rather than the combustion of the organic compounds in the fossil fuels that create carbon dioxide . In contrast, combusting coal, oil, or natural gas emits sulfur dioxide(fossil fuels contain both organic and non organic compounds that contain sulphur) that contributes to acidic deposition, particulate matter that threatens human health, and carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that contribute to global climate change. One might consider the indirect greenhouse emission of actually building a nuclear fission reactor and also the resources that are required to obtain and purify the uranium essential for the plant to run. Even after considering all the steps involved in building plants and generating power, researchers from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have calculated that nuclear power lowers emissions 4 150 times below the emissions from fossil fuel combustion . • 11. The Wonderful Workforce Separation in the workforce between male and female jobs creates a setting of inequality and instability in the work force, which limits certain career paths citizens should pursue and promotes an idea of inequality in employment opportunities. In tradition, the man is the breadwinner of the family; while this has changed, men still dominate many career paths. Once upon a time, only men were allowed to play sports in high school. This had drastically changed, due to Title IX, a law that provided opportunities to different career paths ( Mythbusting ). But, on a professional sport level, women are not seen playing in the NFL or the NBA. Women have their own leagues, like the Women s Basketball Association. There are blended sports, but, for the most part, men and women are separate. The main argument is that women are not as physically able as men and therefore, they should not compete with men. People see this separation as fair; but, this gender separation will lead to men controlling the sports world (Faulmueller 1 2). However, the amount of women in professional coaching careers is diminutive. A mere two to three percent of male teams are coached by females and in women s sports, the amount of female coaches has plummeted forty two percent; female coaches already earn less than their counterparts and many are now struggling to find new careers (Waldron 2. • 12. Mirror Mask Movie Analysis MirrorMask is a fantasy/drama film that was released on September 30th, 2005. This movie was very different from a normal fairy tale. This movie was about a girl named Helena, she worked in a circus with her Mom and Dad and they barely got by financially. Helena didn t want to work in the circus anymore, she wanted to be normal like everybody else. Helena is also an incredible artist, her room was filled with artwork. When she falls asleep one day, she woke up in a magical land that was filled with her drawings, the kingdom was her drawings. After finding out they need to get the mirrormask to save the kingdom, she embarks on an adventure to save the kingdom and along the way, she meets a guy, that accompanies alongside with her. Is it true love? From watching MirrorMask, this movie had different elements than a regular fairy tale. It didn t have an evil stepmother, an absentee father and not really a prince charming at the end of the film. I would say, this movie was mostly about growing up and realizing that even if you don t have much, you should still be grateful for what you have. Helena was very ungrateful she had two parents that were always there for her, they didn t have a lot of money, but they had each other and Helena didn t seem to understand that. • 14. Treatment Of Women In The Taming Of The Shrew The Taming of the Shrew written by William Shakespeare obtains various interpretations that are viewed as debatable. The novel involves men attempting to ask for Baptista s blessing to marry his youngest daughter, Bianca. However, the oldest daughter Katherine was not fancied by most men because of her blunt personality and feisty attitude. Many readers, especially feminists, argue that the Taming of the Shrew revolves around the idea of how men oppress women by the way men find Kat s attitude as unappealing, how Petruchio attempts to tame Kat, and at the end of the novel when the three married men challenge each other to see which wife is the most obedient. Kehler s Statement on What is Expected of Women The youngest sister, Bianca, was adored by dozens of men because she was quite the opposite of her older sister, Katherine. Katherine came off as harsh because she spoke whatever was on her mind which is why men preferred to ask for Bianca s hand in marriage. Bianca was obedient and most importantly kept her thoughts to herself. Bianca s soft and quiet personality did not threaten men in the slightest; therefore, the line to ask for her hand in marriage grew. • 15. Stricter Gun Control Laws Do stricter gun control laws, equal less violence and death rates in America? Gun control (or firearms regulation) is the set of laws or policies that regulate the manufacture, sale, transfer, possession, modification, or use of firearms by civilians (Wikipedia). Some presume that this means banning guns. In actuality, gun control only acts to protect citizens through enforcing the appropriate use of firearms; it does not ban the weapon. By implementing stricter gun laws and regulations, there would be a large decrease in death rates and help prevent violence in America. For instance, the United States Constitution Second Amendment declares that everyone has the right to bear arms . The United States Constitution was written with the intention of securing all United States citizens basic rights. Its purpose is to outline the laws of this country by mandating the powers of the people and what the United States government considers acceptable. Despite this, people feel the introduction of stricter gun control laws would deny them their sense of safety by violating their right to defend themselves by the law of the Second Amendment. By allowing everyone including criminals the ability to gain ownership of a weapon, increases violence and death rates in America. Therefore, stricter gun control laws and regulations should be implemented. Furthermore, many people feel that guns are not causing the problems, people that are using these weapons are. • 16. 14000 Military Job Opportunities For Women Essay The Defense Department recently announced new policies that will open more than 14,000 military job opportunities to women. Which seems like a great step except that more than 200,000 positions will still remain exclusive to men, from front line infantry positions to high level special operations roles. States Dani Moritz from The Muse. (Mortiz) Women have been thrown out of spotlight when it came to genuine positions. Does this shout disparity for women, as well as stereotyping and it for the most part tosses women s rights ideal out of the window? Women began to climb the ladder and finally became equal to men, well almost. Women s rights include, but is not limited to positions that any man can hold, promotions that were not allowed beforehand last but not least socially and legal equality. As women, we can t continue to yell inequality when we are not on the same playing field as men. We, women, have more leverage than the men. Aspiring to be like men would require us to also go the same extra mile that the male has to also. Women s right is not for us to be equal while also being held on a pedestal at the same time. We strive to create the best possible learning environment for our students, but we are missing the mark in one crucial area: creating a classroom environment that promotes a healthy and physically active lifestyle. Students spend countless hours sitting in the classroom with little opportunities beyond PE and recess to be physically active. We should be just as concerned with our students physical well being as we are for their academic progress. The lessons that we teach our students will follow them for a lifetime and will impact who they will become as adults. If we set the stage now to promote making healthy choices, we help give our students the key to living a healthy lifestyle as an adult. Children should participate in moderate to vigorous physical activity for 60 minutes a day or more, but studies show that most children are not meeting this goal (R. Washington, 2005). I feel that the emotional connection that people make with a film is, in most cases, an extremely important quality that directors can emphasize on in /their work. Whether it is a realistic movie that is based off of a true story, or a children s Disney movie, anyone can experience a sense of a character s point of view. Depending on the type of film (horror, suspense, comedy, drama, etc.), this emotional connection can vary among different people. In a classic Disney film such as Bambi, children can relate to Bambi. They can easily understand the type of experiences that he goes through such as having friends (Thumper, a joyous rabbit, and Flower, a loving skunk), playing on an icy pond, and even going through an emotional event of losing a loved one (the death of Bambi s mother). • 24. Wordsworth s Hope For Humans And Nature Wordsworth s Hope for Humans and Nature Does anyone fully understand why people go for walks through the woods to try to relax? William Wordsworth believed that nature was a key that unlocked the soul trapped in the human body. In his poem, I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud, he described how free his soul felt when immersed in nature. Wordsworth loved nature and wanted the rest of the human race to become conscious of nature s charm on the human soul. Wordsworth explained how he wanted humans to become more involved in nature by using peaceful metaphors, exciting personification, and a repetition of happiness and hope throughout this work. Wordsworth was a romantic poet throughout the 1800 s. Romantic poetry was marked by heightened emotion and sentiment; a strong sense of individualism; a respect for nature, history and mysticism; and a return to first person lyric poems, (Mandell). As many of the poems in the romantic time period, this is a first person lyric. The speaker of the lyrical poem is Wordsworth s soul when he is in nature. Nature was a crucial part of his life, as he would go on long trips across the country to spend copious amounts of time in nature. For example, before his final semester, he set out on a walking tour of Europe, an experience that influenced both his poetry and political sensibilities. (William Wordsworth). During majority of these escapades, he wrote many poems similar to this. Wordsworth wrote about nature and how happy he was when ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Luther Reflection In the Freedom of Christians Luther states: The Word of God cannot be received and cherished by any works whatever but only by faith (page 10 line 16). The term works, according to Luther is any type of action a person performs in their life. The type of action can be a spectrum from being a robber to being a volunteer for helping the poor. The work a person performs in their life, will not determine whether they will be saved or not. The only way a person receives faith is through their internal or the spiritual self. Even though, a person has done numerous inferior actions, in the past they still have a chance of being saved by Faith. Furthermore, Luther clarifies that a person who is saved internally by faith, should make an effort to better their outer self by giving back and helping others by means of volunteering or community service. According to Luther, a Christian has the spiritual part and the bodily part. The spiritual part can also be called the inner or new man and the bodily part can also be called the carnal or old man. Apostle Paul, in the Bible, explains the reason behind the two different aspects to the Christian life: Though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is renewed every day (Apostal Gal [:17]. Looking closely at the human life, what Apostle Paul says makes sense about how a person would age day by day, but the person would also, at the same time, learn something new every day. • 30. The International Criminal Court As An Advocate For Peace The International Criminal Court as Both Mediator and Arbiter in Conflicts Paul Daniel Thornton Dr. Lealle Ruhl POLI 1145 Peace and Conflict Studies Wednesday, November 16, 2016 INTRODUCTION In the pursuit of positive peace for the global community, certain mechanisms are necessary in order to better protect human rights and resolve interstate conflicts. Prior to the events of World War II, a cogent set of laws defining those human rights, much less violations therein were never heard at an international scale. The International Criminal Court has the role as both appellate for justice and voice for peace in the international community but has not yet resolve the contradictory ends of both roles. That contradictory end is that many countries proclaim the necessity of the International Criminal Court as an advocate for conflict resolution and peace advocacy while being resist or outright antagonistic towards the court when their own state has committed those same crimes. To the ends of defending basic universal rights, the International Criminal Court (hereafter ICC) serves that capacity when state level systems cannot or will not act accordingly. Initially, this was seen following World War II with the Nuremberg trials in response to the atrocities committed by Nazi Germany. However in more contemporary history, the ICC was formed to in response to the events in the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda. These tribunals were unprecedented, not only in their global ... People went hungry as fires devoured any crops that the enemy might be able to access. Fires still burned all across the kingdom, smouldering, but not yet extinguished. Some days, it seemed the sky itself was afire. People had to run from their homes, men hurried to join the fighting, and families were broken apart. Some had thought that the war would never end. Hopes were dashed as battles were fought with no clear victor. There was no reason to plant crops, to raise a family, or to hope. The war had taken almost everything we had. But it was over. We had defeated the rebel army and captured their commander. Then, he knelt before me. I stood over him with my sword drawn. It was my right, but more so, my duty, to bring my king his head, so all could see what happens to those who rebel. I paused, looking at him carefully. My mind spun with questions. How was it possible that one man s ambition could destroy an entire kingdom? Tear apart families? Condemn people to hardship? I suppose we should have known. Through this essay GDP will be used as the primary measure of the strength of an economy. Some may argue that this is not the sole measure: there are many other factors, which come into the strength of an economy such as unemployment, government spending and consumption. Furthermore the statistics surrounding GDP may themselves be inaccurate and hold distortions since it doesn t take into account distribution of income and hidden economies such as the black market. However, it is easiest to look primarily at GDP and seek to examine the extent to which European economies GDP move in harness. This essay will also look at the reasons behind similarities and differences in individual European GDP movements and the efforts of European authorities to encourage Europe to be more financially interlinked. It s broadly assumed that the European economies tends to move in the same direction, be that due to being geographically or politically linked. In most cases, the society rebuilds itself, improves, takes mistakes from the past, and makes sure to establish itself as something new, distancing itself from its past faults. However, that is not always the case. The cultural revolution of China, lasting from 1966 1976, was a revolution unlike many others; it resulted in the destruction of traditional Chinese culture, as well as the reshaping of the Chinese political mentality. Mao Zedong, the chairman of the Communist Party of China, was the chief instigator of the revolution. Much of his motivations stemmed from his poor relationships with other party leaders. This tension with the other members was caused by the Great Leap Forward, an attempt by Mao to increase agricultural and industrial production in China within a very short span of time. This resulted in the overworking of farmers, a famine with an estimated 40 million deaths, and a disgrace for Mao (Ramzy). Even his intended successor, Liu Shaoqi, who was groomed to perfection by Mao himself, turned his back on him after the disastrous attempt at reforming the agricultural industry. However, due to Mao s well placed use of propaganda, he managed to climb back to power, establish a loyal base, and spread his ideology across China. He believed the Communist Party to be corrupt and need to be cleansed of those poisoned by intellectualism. Liu Shaoqi, the newly elected president of China, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Gause may have been the leader to start the protists experiment but he wasn t the only one to question competition. Gill had questioned Gause s theory and decided to do his own research. Gill experimented on two species pure and mixed cultures of Paramecium aurelia. After experimenting Gill discovered that Paramecium aurelia did not match up to Gause s theory and did not compete over a limited resource instead ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. Frog Dissection At first on hearing we are doing a pig dissection I was pretty excited. I remember in seventh grade we did a frog dissection. I was okay with it, but I thought the frog was to small. Moving around in the frog was hard and was confusing. I was pretty excited about the pig dissection knowing that it will be bigger than the frog. I was not scared or nerovus about this dissection at all as it is a nice way to learn about other animals and species that live on Earth. The external anatomy of the pig was quite interesting when we first saw it. The umbilical cord was large and long, it was wrapped around the pig s back legs. The skin of the pig was wrinkly. Beneath the chin, the pig had a small little collection of hairs, making it look like a beard. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Metaphors In Sidney s Sonnet 31 Sonnet 31 is an attempt to capture the sorrow and desolation experienced in heartache, through the focal symbol of the poem, the moon. This acts as a metaphor for the narrator s deteriorated mental state, evoking sympathy in the reader. Sidney s sonnet offers us an insight into the narrator s anguish, brought into the reader s mind through his choice of form, rhyme and meter. Sonnet 31 forms a part of Sidney s collection Astrophil and Stella, a sequence of 108 sonnets and 11 songs, telling the story of the narrator Astrophil, chasing after his unrequited lover Stella. It has been said the sonnet sequence is partly autobiographical; many believe it is based upon Sidney s own feelings for Lady Penelope Rich. The name Astrophil translates to star crossed lover and Stella means star, the continuation of this theme provides a route for all the sonnets to follow, Sonnet 31 being no exception as the reader witnesses our narrator finding solace in the moon. As a reader we become instantly aware of the metaphorical qualities the moon holds. The poem begins With how sad steps, Oh Moon, thou climb st the skies, the pathetic fallacy here giving direction to the rest of the poem. The notion of the moon coming up signifies a transition from day to night, light to dark, perhaps revealing the movement of Astrophil s mental state, from one of peace to one of frustration and confusion. Sad steps (l.1) further exposes this idea as the personification of the moon becomes noticeable. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The story takes place when Fulghum, the author, is left to babysit eighty children seven to ten years old, in the church social hall. He decides to organize a game called Giants, Wizards, and Dwarfs to keep the kids entertained and involve some of their intellectual decision making skills. As the game reached its climax, Fulghum yelled at the children to decide whether they were a giant, wizard, or dwarf. While the groups frenzied and consulted, a little girl emerged from the crowd and asked Fulghum, Where do the Mermaids stand? In shock of the girl s response, Fulghum took a long pause to think and in the end he decided that the Mermaids stands next to the king, which was Fulghum himself. The meaning of this quote is that there will be someone, somewhere, who doesn t accept the norms and is defined by their category. The mermaid the author refers to in the quote would be the little girl and how she was that one person who wasn t afraid to be different. To add on, those who are different, tend to stand out among the others. I chose to analyze this quote because I kind of relate to the girl in the quote. Just like the girl or mermaid, people (and myself) label me as out of the norm because I have a weird sense of humor. In conclusion, being different isn t so ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
