Establishing a high speed and reliable lighthouse area network will significantly boost the bed and
breakfast s appeal for guests, and help bring the lighthouse into the digital era. Using a wireless mesh
network will be more flexible and cheaper than an old fashioned wired local area network (LAN).
That is beside the fact that wireless networks are easy to install, expand, and have the additional
advantage of presenting a portable wireless link to the bed and breakfast residents.
This internet networking project will be made up of two distinctive phases. In Phase I, a small scale
network will be developed. The lessons learnt in Phase I will appraise the plan for Phase II, in which
the network will be expanded to include the whole area that the lighthouse lays claim to. The final
network will back wireless connectivity between guests and the bed and breakfast intranet services at
data speeds approximating 54 Mbps. The services that will be delivered to include Web sites, email,
and contact with the internet.

Relationship Between Female And Young Adult Couples And...
This current study investigates the relationship between both members of pregnant adolescent and
young adult couples and romantic attachment style and depressive symptoms. This study was
conducted by Desrosiers, Sipsma, Callands, and Hansens (2007) at Yale University. Before conducting
the study, surveys were gathered a random places of participants of varying ages, but it was found
inconsistent. The participants were found at the local obstetrics and gynecology, and ultrasound
clinics, which were selected based on proximity and population served. Of the 944 couples screened
possible couples, 413 were eligible, and 296 of the couples enrolled into the study. All of the 296

The lack of resources, social support, and challenges in attaining educational goals, increased the
vulnerability of the depressive symptoms/disorders that occur during adolescence, (Eshbaugh,
Lempers, Luze, 2006). The depressive symptoms were found more in women than men, although
symptoms of depression during the prenatal period were also exhibited by the male partners. Prenatal
depressive symptoms in men have been associated with depression in their female partners, suggesting
the possibility of reciprocal influence (Field et al., 2006). Preliminary findings suggest that the
younger the father the more the significant the depressive symptoms found in the men. Factors that
contributed to depressive symptoms negative parent child relationships and abandonment issues. It
was reported that the samples of the young adult participants were reported to have an increased
insecure romantic attachment. The attachment was assessed by a process called 36 item Experiences
in Close Relationships Inventory. Which is a questionnaire that is used to evaluate the construct of the
attachment between the young couples. The participants have to rate 36 statements on a scale from 1
(strongly disagree) to 7 (strongly disagree). Of those 36 items, 17 were avoidant attachment and 19
were anxious attachment. Avoidant attachment is the tendency to emotionally distance oneself from
their partner and anxious attachment is the tendency to form a bond

Human Geography And Development Studies
In today s world people, places, societies and environments are constantly changing. Both natural and
human created events, shape the world and create strong relationships between the environment and
society. Human geography and development studies are two fields seeking to analyse these
interrelationships and answer key questions about major issues in the world such as poverty, inequality
and conflict. Human geography is largely about studying the spatial aspects of relationships between
people and society whereas development studies focusses more on the way societies function,
focussing on issues such as poverty and inequality as well as the way in which developing nations
function compared to developed nations. Through examples of poverty and inequality this essay will
explain the ways in which development studies and human geography overlap and the ways in which
they are different in their analyses.
Human geography is defined as The study of interrelationships between people, places and
environment and how these vary spatially and temporally across and between locations (Castree,
Kitchin and Rogers, 2013). It looks at how society shapes the environment and vice versa. Although
physical geography and human geography are separate fields they both concentrate on spatial
processes; physical geography more on the natural and physical sciences and human geography on the
way in which human lives are shaped by processes in nature (Castree et al., 2013). A key principle of

The Battle of Britain and Sir Winston Churchill Essay
The Battle of Britain and Sir Winston Churchill
Shortly after the Battle of Britain Sir Winston Churchill, the prime minister of Great Britain, is quoted
as exclaiming, Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few. The few
that Churchill was referring to were the brave aircrew that undertook the daunting task of repelling the
massive offensive by the dreaded German air corps, the Luftwaffe. In the year 1940 Adolf Hitler
ordered an offensive in coordination with an attempted invasion of the isle of Britain. The only way
Hitler was going to accomplish this great feat was the assert the power of his Air Force. In November

Lastly, the least know function of the RCAF was the defense and institution of the Canadian Home
War Establishment. These three roles of the RCAF were the basis for the Allied forces air corps. The
British Commonwealth Training Plan (BLATP) was the program started in a joint effort by the United
Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. The agreement was signed in 1939 to form what
Roosevelt would call, the aerodrome of democracy. In April of 1940 the first air school opened in
Canada. The task of opening this school fell to four thousand aircrew that needed to form dozens of
schools to train airmen. The original school was able to produce 520 pilots with elementary education
in air combat. Out of every hundred pilots that graduated from the school anywhere between sixty and
sixty five were Canadian.ii When the program ended at the conclusion of the war they had opened a
total of ninety seven schools and had successfully trained 82,000 airmen in three years. The Canadian
trained pilots were the backbone of the Allied offensive battles and defensive support of World War II.
The defense of Canada fell under the command of two division of the RCAF, the Eastern Air
Command and the Western Air Command. The purpose of the Eastern Air Command was to defend
the Canadian and American coasts against German U Boat. The first 18 months of the war were

Lack of evenly distributed prosperity in Durham has been at the forefront of the mayoral election.
Martin posed a question to the candidates regarding the city s growth but inability of citizens to reap
the benefits of its development; and how they would handle this if elected as mayor. Ali readily
responded, As we see growth in our city occurring, making sure we have policy for inclusion is
important and added an antedote about the drastic improvements his non profit, working in
conjunction with the city of Durham, had on minority and women owned firms, underscoring his
experience and enthusiasm to help all of Durham. Ali finally noted that I elected, his goal is prosperity
not just for the big people or the companies or the organizations that we are contracting with, but to
make sure that we are able to spread that around so that other people can participate in this prosperity .
Martin asked the candidates about affordable housing in Durham. They all agreed that gentrification is
an issue inhibiting community growth. Schewel emphasized that there is no issue that is more
important in Durham right now . He explained the need to preserve programs like the Durham
Housing Authority that shelter over 6,000 vulnerable people and tax relief for those in poverty trying
to keep their homes. He concluded his response simply with we can make a difference .

Omnivore s Dilemma Research Paper
But the real question is, now that we ve read it, will we make better, healthier, food choices? The
Omnivore s Dilemma is a very interesting, informative book. In the following paragraphs I will
explain how pure evidence alone won t make much of a difference for most people. I will write about
how family and media can influence your food choices, our society today and how people might think
I m wrong.
The people we spend time around have a big impact on what we eat. Take family, for example, your
parents usually decide what to eat. If your parents read something about what s healthy, then you
might be eating that for dinner next week. I didn t write The Omnivore s Dilemma to convince you to
eat one kind of food or another. Michael Pollan says in The Omnivore s Dilemma. Most food literature
persuades a person to eat a certain way; whether it s vegetarian or omnivore, whether a diet of mostly
grains is good of if starch is bad. My mom read Dr. David Ludwig s book Always Hungry? and was
influenced that fats aren t what makes people fat. His thesis is that it s not about how much you eat, it
s about what you eat, and Americans need to eat more fat and less sugar. My mom has been persuaded

Remarkable Rocket Essay
The Remarkable Rocket
I chose this story because I read it two weeks ago
The story is about prince wanted to marry.
The prince waited for his Russian bride for a whole year and his bride was very beautiful.
When she arrived, he met her in front of the castle gate and she looked like a white rose.
When he kissed her hand, her face reddened and a young Page to his neighbor Red rose and the king
ordered to increase his salary As he received no salary at all . (Wilde, (2000), p.64)
Since the princess had never seen fireworks before, the king decided to make a firework show at the
party on the occasion of his son s marriage to Princess.
The writer sent a soul into the fireworks that began to talk to each other freshly and amicably pleasant

where I liked the story very much because of its wisdom and deep meaning of the human soul and the
influence of the arrogance on the human. I agree with her that the story is not quite interesting but as I
said before it has a big denotation.
2 My friend Ianislava Chalbysheva gave a hort summary of the story but it was very useful and
wonderful. And I really agree with her that : do not be overly narcissistic, or you will go down. It is
really very expressive phrase, where the excessive narcissism may destroy our lives. The world we
live in now do not contains narcissism in many situations.
3 For friend Viviana Sykes I agree with her that the writer turn of events from the romantic story to the
fireworks were a bit disappointing, but this change was necessary to talk about the arrogance and its
influence on the human, and the writer liked to reflect his talk about this idea in non human
personalities because of the sensitivity of the subject and because the arrogance exists in the human
soul of many people.

How Did Shakespeare Influence Sir Francis Drake
Famous Influences Throughout William Shakespeare s life, the Sixteenth Century encompassed an
overpowering need for new ideas and different opinions. Also, culture flourished within the
civilization of Europe. Not only did Shakespeare change the way people viewed plays, he also lived
among notable contemporaries. During the Sixteenth Century, many famous artists and explorers
presented themselves and influenced the people around them. A few people during Shakespeare s life
still make an impact through their impressive accomplishments. Three famous people who lived
during the Shakespearean Era were Sir Francis Drake, Queen Elizabeth I, and Galileo Galilei. Initially,
Sir Francis Drake travelled the world as a renowned explorer. Born in the 1540s, Francis Drake
discovered his love for exploring during his teenage years. By 1577, a captain volunteered him as the
leader of an expedition which passed around South America, through the Strait of Magellan, and into
the untouched coast beyond. After a triumphant return, Queen Elizabeth I knighted him, and Sir
Francis Drake soon became popular throughout Europe. One of his more ... Show more content on

Social Media Impact on Online Consumer Behavior Essay
Discussion First the results of this study indicate that brand awareness (H1) has a significant influence
on the purchase intention of online shoppers. Specifically this means that when people consider
buying a product or service online, they would prefer a brand which has been advertized and they
know about it. Nevertheless, brand awareness is likely to be a leading factor in the search for
information stage in the online pre purchase process. In this also called consideration stage (David

If however, the information does not correspond with these needs, it is logical to be rejected. The
importance of relevance is also in line with the findings of Cheung, Lee, Rabjohn (2008). Secondly, an
explanation for the insignificance of the timeliness factor could be found in the measurement
construct. Only one item was used to test this factor which might explain the non significance of this
variable. This is also explained further in the limitations and further research section. Another possible
explanation for the not significant relationship between timeliness and purchase intention might be
found in the context of the study. In the online environment, topics related to hotels may not be as time
sensitive as fashion topics, for example. Reviews from the past could even be perceived as valuable,
because they can help customers to track down the reputation of a certain hotel. Thirdly, accuracy was
also found insignificant and an explanation could be that it is a rather subjective term. A certain
message could be perceived as accurate for some and imprecise for others. Moreover, the participants
of the experiment could not know if the information in the reviews was definitely true or definitely
false. Furthermore, for people that are looking for additional information in order to make the right
choice, it might be difficult to decide whether or not the buzz is accurate, correct or reliable. This is

The name, Anti Federalists is not the best suited name for what they truly are, or what they believe in.
They are called the Anti Federalists, but it should be made clear at once that they were not Anti
Federal at all. (Main xi) Originally, the word federalist, meant anyone who supported the Articles of
Confederation. The term Anti Federalist was placed on them to portray them as people who did not
agree with the Federal Government, which was exactly opposite of what they are. According to the

they did not agree with them, but they also had a reason behind it. The Federalists idea was the use of
the term was the way some great men had to deceive the common people, and prevent their knowing

Essay about Impact of Diversity on Public Policies
When the Three Fifth Compromise was ratified and the Constitution written, diversity was rarely an
issue and played little to no importance in the Constitution. However, race has been one of, if not the
central of politics predominately in the southern states during the mid 1900s. It has played a majour
role in defining politics and issuing many public policies such as social welfare and Medicaid. During
the mid 1900s, several civil rights court cases and movements such as Brown v. Board of Education,

For this, educational institutes view diversity as as an essential resource for optimizing teaching and
learning. (Maruyama, Moreno, 9) for it enriches educational experiences by making us more of critical
thinkers who judge based on character quality and of ones who could effectively communicate with
people of different backgrounds thus strengthening communities and workplaces. Also, it is beneficial
in sustaining the nation s prosperity in modern day terms of diversity and differences. (On The
Importance of Diversity in Higher Education). A research sates that elementary through high school
students benefits more when they are in a diverse environment primary at school for they are then well
exposed to people who are different from them, they learn to function and appreciate other cultures

to expand institutional diversity, many institutes (High schools, universities and colleges) are engaged
in such activities of recruitment of underrepresented students, mentoring and tutoring programs, need

Invisible City Themes
Invisible City documents the lives of two teenagers living in Regent Park, and the impact they cause
on those around them. (Davis, 2009). The teenagers, Mikey and Kendell, are individuals struggling
with various issues. Essentially, the documentary chronicles the ups and downs of their lives, in an
environment that is constantly trying to diminish them (Davis, 2009). With that being said, there are
two main themes found within the documentary. The first theme focuses on the strife that these
teenagers, and those within their lives, endure. The second one feeds off this strife, and demonstrates
the potential of Mikey and Kendell. Aspects of both themes have been discussed in our class lectures,
because they relate to major societal problems. Overall, these themes outline the obstacles the
teenagers face in their youth, and the possibility for a better future, both of which include prominent
topics in our class lectures.
In more specific terms, the theme regarding strife is defined by the various hardships these teenagers
presently encounter such as race, crime, education, family issues, and poverty, all of which can be
related to our class lectures. Firstly, race is a basic component in the strife that these teenagers
experience. In Canada, those who are black are considered to be part of a minority group. Thus, they
are usually at a disadvantage in a mostly white society. An example of this is found in the

Ordinary People Movie Analysis
In the movie Ordinary People Conrad and his family struggle with their relationship with each other.
There are many arguments and fights between them and most of these are caused by a lack of
communication between one another. In an argument people use their natural instincts to react, and
this reaction is either a fight or a flight reaction. In this film both fight and flight is demonstrated with
each Conrad, Beth, and Calvin.
After the whole incident with Conrad s brother dieing Conrad hasn t been able to forgive himself for
what happened that night on the boat and for what he did. Him and his mother feel disconnected and
uncomfortable and they lack communication with one another. For example, when Beth, Conrad s
mother, found out about Conrad quitting the swim team from one of her friends she was angry. She

just assumed that he was purposefully trying to start a fight with her. While Calvin didn t think about
it like that, he just felt that they should bring their son along with them next time. This argument
escalated very quickly into yelling at one another over many topics. This could have been prevented if
they communicated more with each other because Beth isn t comfortable with showing or talking
about emotions and talking to a psychiatrist together would really help. If Beth and Calvin sat down
with a psychiatrist and talked everything out with each other they could have worked it out and not

everyone down, now that they can t drink a beer and go out with friends anymore Al Capone thought
he could take the reigns of this situation by starting to bootleg beer. He was already a leader of a very

of Chicago then he would become one of the richest men in the U.S.. His dream came true as he

Catch-22 and the Theme of Death
Catch 22 and the Theme of Death
There are many ways for a man to die, but there is no way to bring him back after he has entered the
world of dead. Catch 22 is a novel satirizing war, and because of this, it inevitably has a strong
underlying theme of death. But unlike many war novels, Catch 22 doesn t use violent depictions of
fighting or bloody death scenes to denounce the evils of war; it utilizes humor and irony to make an
arguably more effective point. And even more importantly, Catch 22 is ultimately a novel about hope,
not death. Although the inevitability of death is still a prominent motif, it eventually leads the main

Yossarian s most startling glimpse into the terrors of war and death comes when he spends a night
alone on the streets of Rome. He sees homeless children; he witnesses men beating children and dogs,
a rape, and a convulsing soldier; he walks over a street littered with broken human teeth. This is one of
the rare sections of the novel that does not use humor to point out the cruelty and inhumanity of the
world. The scene comes to a climax when Yossarian returns to his apartment and discovers that Aarfy
has raped an innocent maid and then thrown her out his window, leaving her dead on the sidewalk
below. Then, ironically, Yossarian is arrested for being in Rome without a pass and Aarfy is given an
apology for the disturbance, his hideous crime going unpunished. This chapter is when Yossarian
begins to really recognize the true face of the military and the meaning of Catch 22; when he goes to
the brothel and the old woman tells him that the girls have all been kicked out of their home by
soldiers, she explains to him that Catch 22 says they have a right to do anything we can t stop them
from doing (417;Ch.39). Catch 22 is the justification for every wrong the military commits, and it
overrides every other moral law. The horrors that the military creates will never stop, and Yossarian

Capitalism And Colonialism’S Links As Pillars Of White
Capitalism and colonialism s links as pillars of white supremacy contribute to the racial exclusion and
exploitation of certain racial groups, such as Native Americans and Black people. This can be seen
through the timeline of North American history, but also farther back in the history of European settler
colonialism throughout Europe and into other nearby continents. The methods of decolonization
employed by various racial groups affected by colonialism interact with one another in various ways,
as each group was affected differently, yet they were affected by the same instigating group of white
settlers. It is important when these groups make the move to decolonize themselves to consider other
groups outside their own, as interactions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Roxanne Dunbar Ortiz covers much of this in her book Indigenous People s History of the US, where
she goes over many historical events contributing to the genocide, exploitation, and exclusion of
Native Americans. In the beginnings of white colonial interaction with indigenous people, settlers
used native peoples as sources of knowledge on how to live off unfamiliar land:
They appropriated what had already been created by Indigenous civilizations. They stole already
cultivated farmland and the... crops domesticated over centuries, took control of the deer parks that
had been cleared and maintained by Indigenous communities, used existing roads and water routes in
order to move armies to conquer, and relied on captured Indigenous people to identify the locations of
water, oyster beds, and medicinal herbs (Dunbar Ortiz 46). Without Native Americans, Dunbar Ortiz
argues, the European settlers would likely have not survived in the New World at all, for had North
America been a wilderness, undeveloped, without roads, and uncultivated, it might still be so, for the
European colonists could not have survived (46). This is only the beginning of settler exploitation of
Native Americans, though, as settler colonialism later changes its stance of racialized logic to that of
exclusion, leading to mass genocide and appropriation of indigenous land. Once the

Jupiter´s Europa Moon
Europa is the sixth of Jupiter s moons and the fourth largest. Europa is named after a Phoenician
princess who was abducted by Zeus and taken to the island of Crete to be his lover. Europa was
discovered by Galileo Galilei and possibly Simon Marius in 1610 and is one of the four Galilean
satellites. The others being: Io, Ganymede, and Callisto. Europa is very different from the other moons
of Jupiter. Instead of a rocky, cratered surface like Callisto and Ganymede, it instead has a smooth
outer surface of cracked ice. There are very few sign of craters on Europa. In fact, only three large
craters have been found. This indicates that Europa s surface is very young and active. In photographs
sent back by orbiters, the surface resembles sea ice on Earth. Astronomers believe that beneath this
layer of ice may exist an ocean, kept liquid by the moon s internal heat. This liquid ocean could be as
much as 30 miles deep. The existence of deep ocean vents on the ocean floor on Earth have led some
scientists to speculate that there could be a possibility of life on Europa. Around these deep sea vents
on Earth are life forms that do not need sunlight to survive. They instead feed on bacteria that get their
nutrients from chemicals seeping up from the ocean floor. This process is known as chemosynthesis.
Scientists believe that similar life forms could evolve on Europa if a liquid ocean does indeed exist
beneath its frozen surface. The most apparent features on Europa are a series

Analysis Of The Hobby Lobby Company
. Greene maintains a strong commitment to his Christian faith. He has not wavered from his moral
principles, despite pressure from various groups and even the United States government to
compromise on some company policies. While some may disagree with a leader s specific principles,
Greene s courage to stand up for what he believes in would be considered a respectable trait to many.
In addition, the Hobby Lobby CEO has demonstrated a commitment to employee satisfaction. He has
raised the minimum wage of full time employees by one dollar a year since 2009 (Soloman, 2012) and
even offers a free health clinic at the companies headquarters, which is available for all Hobby Lobby

The Implementation Of E Government
Analysis
As the largest developed country, The United States has the most advanced national e government
infrastructure in the world. It also has a a long history and culture in democratic government structures
and the capitalist economic system. As a result, the US government has taken three principles in the
implementation of e government strategy. First is a citizen centered, rather than bureaucracy centered.
The other two is results oriented and market based, actively promoting in novation (source:
www.firstgov.gov). In short, the implementation strategy of e government in the US is market based
with the aim of serving and supporting citizens specific requirements, which is assessed by clear and
specific results.
Policy environment is an important consideration in the United States, in order to understand the
strategy of e government implementation. A complete set of laws related to the development of e
government is already in place, including the Privacy Act, the Computer Matching and Privacy
Protection Act, the Electronic Freedom of Information Amendments, the Computer Security Act, the
Critical Infrastructure Protection, the Government Paperwork Elimination Act, and the Electronic
Government Act (Relyea, 2002).
However, if we take China as an example of developing countries, the first e government
implementation project in China began in 1994. According to the 11th Report of the Statistic of China

Royal Australian Marines in the Play, Our Country is Good
Our Country is Good is set in the late 1700s in Australia. The play is about Royal Marines who were
sent to colonize the country and the convicts sent there also to spend out their sentencing. The play
focuses on how the group of convicts, along with Second Lieutenant Clark, put on a play for the King
because he was suffering from an illness during that time. Second Lieutenant Clark decides to put on a
play called the Recruiting Officer by George Farquhar, which was a very popular play in the time
period.
Many things come into play after the announcement of the play being put on by convicts. There are
several themes in the play, such as the judicial system and punishment, and sexuality. The underlining
theme, the one with the repeating patterns and symbol, was redemption and theater as a humanizing
experience. The judicial system used in Australia during that time period was during the Georgian era,
which was the system used in England. This was the harshest system of Europe, and possibly the
world during the era. Any crime, especially crimes that were minute, was punishable by hanging. The
public usually gave punishments for crimes to the criminals. In that era, the public was more
concerned about crimes such as theft and less concerned about crimes such as murder. The judicial
system and its way of giving punishments mostly did not fit the crimes; criminals would be hanged for
stealing food or money. Equality in sexes is another evident theme of the play. The convict

How Did The Vikings Barbarians
The Vikings are commonly known as barbarians, evil, sometimes even marauders. However, the
Vikings didn t just raid prospering villages or monasteries. They also spent a lot of time exploring
overseas. While the rest of Europe was squabbling over what land belongs to who, the Vikings were
isolated, all alone on their three little peninsulas. This left them plenty of time to expand their
knowledge on ships and navigation. It also led them to bring ships into their culture. Viking long ships
were lean, speedy, lightweight ships that could easily cut through the most vicious waves that the
ocean could throw at them. The Norse people were separated from mainland Europe by the North Sea.
As their nation advanced they built longships and started exploring the ocean. The Viking longboat
was the key to the Vikings success in traveling. (Legends and Chronicles, Paragraph 14). This made
the long ship a very valuable and important asset to the Vikings. The longships were so fast and
nimble, they were great for transportation of soldiers and merchandise. At the time, no other
civilization had been able to achieve such an amazing naval feat. this gave the Vikings a great
advantage over medieval combat, political affairs, and even the trading industry. ... Show more content

Instead of using a saw to split the wood, they would use their axes. The Vikings would firmly attach
the planks to the sides of the keel by employing strong iron nails as a fastener. Unlike many of the
ships in that age, the Vikings would use the clinker method, . The Viking s unconventional clinker
method included overlapping the planks one after another to create a smooth exterior for the ship. One
clever way of preventing leaks was, to dip a wool string in tar and force it between the planks to
prevent leaks. After securing a good exterior and leak proof sides, the Vikings would then attach floor
boards and rowing benches to the

Mia s Journey In The Epic Of Beowulf
The Gulf Mia had been sailing in the water with her family for as long as she could remember. In fact,
she was positive that she had learned to sail long before she had even learned to walk. As an early
birthday gift, she had inherited her uncle s 50ft sailboat and she was ready to take it into the gulf.
Weather reports suggested clear skies for the next few days and Mia was eager to finally take control
of the reigns and sail a boat on her own. Of course, her favorite person in the world would be
accompanying her on this trip. Evelyn came around the corner of the dock, wearing an old pair of
overalls and dragging a large duffel bag behind her. Evelyn was Mia s best friend. They had known
each other since elementary school, and now they were about to graduate high school. Although
Evelyn had a fear of the gulf, the thought of Mia sailing alone for a few days terrified her much more.
So now using their combined strength, the two girls loaded their supplies onto the boat, and Mia
proceeded to release the sailboat from its chains. Since it was her first time alone in the water, without
the assistance of her father or uncle, Mia had made sure to map out the area that the girls would ...

Suddenly, the girls were surprised to hear an abrupt clash of thunder. Dark clouds began to adorn the
night sky, and in an instant, the girls found themselves in the middle of a ferocious thunderstorm.
Drenched, Evelyn ran into the bunker and Mia attempted to take control of the sails. Her attempts
failed as the sailboat was jerked around by the strong currents and in a moments time, was sent
through a sharp boulder peeking from beneath the gulf. Evelyn let out a shrill scream and held onto
the walls of the bunker. Mia was flung into the rails of the boat, and she realized that she no longer
knew what direction they were headed in, as the storm continued to send them deeper into the

reaction to a scary situation. After the death of Sir Charles, Sir Henry is the next heir to the Baskerville
estate. Sherlock sends Watson with Sir Henry to report back to him on suspicious activity. After many
twist and turns in the case, the identity of the culprit is exposed. During the entirety of the story,
fearful situations pop up for nearly all characters. Sir Charles was living in fear of the moor outside of

The Novel The Spirit Level I Came Into Inequality
While reading The Spirit Level I came into conclusion that the inequality in developed countries is
great threat to society as a whole. The major issues that are brought up in the book are the inequality
between the rich and the poor in developed countries but also the comparison between developing
countries. The book dives into several factors that are the effects of the inequality ranging from
obesity, teenage birth, life expectancy etc.... I would discuss in depth on each of these factors and how
they all are key components in society and how they add to the inequality in developed countries. One
of the first factors the book brings up is the issue of trust and how it is a main factor in society, trust is
what keeps us from not turning on each other and seeing others as cooperative rather than competitive.
According to the book trust has fallen from a high 60 percent from 1960 to a low of less than 40
percent in 2004 , this facts gives insight into the society we are living in now. When I read this, I could
only think of the mindset many people have now, job security is tight and that everyone is seen as
competition. I for one living in America I always have a sense that everyone wants to be on top, and
they are willing to do everything to get the job or position, instead of trying to change the way of
selfishness, we are adding to it, especially with social media. Social media has it pros but it has very
damaging cons, ideas of self worth and values are being shoved

Establishing a high speed and reliable lighthouse area network will significantly boost the bed and breakfast s appeal for guests, and help bring the lighthouse into the digital era. Using a wireless mesh network will be more flexible and cheaper than an old fashioned wired local area network (LAN). That is beside the fact that wireless networks are easy to install, expand, and have the additional advantage of presenting a portable wireless link to the bed and breakfast residents. This internet networking project will be made up of two distinctive phases. In Phase I, a small scale network will be developed. The lessons learnt in Phase I will appraise the plan for Phase II, in which the network will be expanded to include the whole area that the lighthouse lays claim to. The final network will back wireless connectivity between guests and the bed and breakfast intranet services at data speeds approximating 54 Mbps. The services that will be delivered to include Web sites, email, and contact with the internet. The lack of resources, social support, and challenges in attaining educational goals, increased the vulnerability of the depressive symptoms/disorders that occur during adolescence, (Eshbaugh, Lempers, Luze, 2006). The depressive symptoms were found more in women than men, although symptoms of depression during the prenatal period were also exhibited by the male partners. Prenatal depressive symptoms in men have been associated with depression in their female partners, suggesting the possibility of reciprocal influence (Field et al., 2006). Preliminary findings suggest that the younger the father the more the significant the depressive symptoms found in the men. Factors that contributed to depressive symptoms negative parent child relationships and abandonment issues. It was reported that the samples of the young adult participants were reported to have an increased insecure romantic attachment. The attachment was assessed by a process called 36 item Experiences in Close Relationships Inventory. Which is a questionnaire that is used to evaluate the construct of the attachment between the young couples. The participants have to rate 36 statements on a scale from 1 (strongly disagree) to 7 (strongly disagree). Of those 36 items, 17 were avoidant attachment and 19 were anxious attachment. • 4. Human Geography And Development Studies In today s world people, places, societies and environments are constantly changing. Both natural and human created events, shape the world and create strong relationships between the environment and society. Human geography and development studies are two fields seeking to analyse these interrelationships and answer key questions about major issues in the world such as poverty, inequality and conflict. Human geography is largely about studying the spatial aspects of relationships between people and society whereas development studies focusses more on the way societies function, focussing on issues such as poverty and inequality as well as the way in which developing nations function compared to developed nations. Through examples of poverty and inequality this essay will explain the ways in which development studies and human geography overlap and the ways in which they are different in their analyses. Human geography is defined as The study of interrelationships between people, places and environment and how these vary spatially and temporally across and between locations (Castree, Kitchin and Rogers, 2013). It looks at how society shapes the environment and vice versa. Although physical geography and human geography are separate fields they both concentrate on spatial processes; physical geography more on the natural and physical sciences and human geography on the way in which human lives are shaped by processes in nature (Castree et al., 2013). • 20. Jupiter´s Europa Moon Europa is the sixth of Jupiter s moons and the fourth largest. Europa is named after a Phoenician princess who was abducted by Zeus and taken to the island of Crete to be his lover. Europa was discovered by Galileo Galilei and possibly Simon Marius in 1610 and is one of the four Galilean satellites. The others being: Io, Ganymede, and Callisto. Europa is very different from the other moons of Jupiter. Instead of a rocky, cratered surface like Callisto and Ganymede, it instead has a smooth outer surface of cracked ice. There are very few sign of craters on Europa. In fact, only three large craters have been found. This indicates that Europa s surface is very young and active. In photographs sent back by orbiters, the surface resembles sea ice on Earth. Astronomers believe that beneath this layer of ice may exist an ocean, kept liquid by the moon s internal heat. This liquid ocean could be as much as 30 miles deep. The existence of deep ocean vents on the ocean floor on Earth have led some scientists to speculate that there could be a possibility of life on Europa. Around these deep sea vents on Earth are life forms that do not need sunlight to survive. They instead feed on bacteria that get their nutrients from chemicals seeping up from the ocean floor. This process is known as chemosynthesis. Scientists believe that similar life forms could evolve on Europa if a liquid ocean does indeed exist beneath its frozen surface. The most apparent features on Europa are a series ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 24. Royal Australian Marines in the Play, Our Country is Good Our Country is Good is set in the late 1700s in Australia. The play is about Royal Marines who were sent to colonize the country and the convicts sent there also to spend out their sentencing. The play focuses on how the group of convicts, along with Second Lieutenant Clark, put on a play for the King because he was suffering from an illness during that time. Second Lieutenant Clark decides to put on a play called the Recruiting Officer by George Farquhar, which was a very popular play in the time period. Many things come into play after the announcement of the play being put on by convicts. There are several themes in the play, such as the judicial system and punishment, and sexuality. The underlining theme, the one with the repeating patterns and symbol, was redemption and theater as a humanizing experience. The judicial system used in Australia during that time period was during the Georgian era, which was the system used in England. This was the harshest system of Europe, and possibly the world during the era. Any crime, especially crimes that were minute, was punishable by hanging. The public usually gave punishments for crimes to the criminals. In that era, the public was more concerned about crimes such as theft and less concerned about crimes such as murder. The judicial system and its way of giving punishments mostly did not fit the crimes; criminals would be hanged for stealing food or money. Equality in sexes is another evident theme of the play. • 27. How Did The Vikings Barbarians The Vikings are commonly known as barbarians, evil, sometimes even marauders. However, the Vikings didn t just raid prospering villages or monasteries. They also spent a lot of time exploring overseas. While the rest of Europe was squabbling over what land belongs to who, the Vikings were isolated, all alone on their three little peninsulas. This left them plenty of time to expand their knowledge on ships and navigation. It also led them to bring ships into their culture. Viking long ships were lean, speedy, lightweight ships that could easily cut through the most vicious waves that the ocean could throw at them. The Norse people were separated from mainland Europe by the North Sea. As their nation advanced they built longships and started exploring the ocean. The Viking longboat was the key to the Vikings success in traveling. (Legends and Chronicles, Paragraph 14). This made the long ship a very valuable and important asset to the Vikings. The longships were so fast and nimble, they were great for transportation of soldiers and merchandise. At the time, no other civilization had been able to achieve such an amazing naval feat. this gave the Vikings a great advantage over medieval combat, political affairs, and even the trading industry. ... The Viking s unconventional clinker method included overlapping the planks one after another to create a smooth exterior for the ship. One clever way of preventing leaks was, to dip a wool string in tar and force it between the planks to prevent leaks. • 30. Mia s Journey In The Epic Of Beowulf The Gulf Mia had been sailing in the water with her family for as long as she could remember. In fact, she was positive that she had learned to sail long before she had even learned to walk. As an early birthday gift, she had inherited her uncle s 50ft sailboat and she was ready to take it into the gulf. Weather reports suggested clear skies for the next few days and Mia was eager to finally take control of the reigns and sail a boat on her own. Of course, her favorite person in the world would be accompanying her on this trip. Evelyn came around the corner of the dock, wearing an old pair of overalls and dragging a large duffel bag behind her. Evelyn was Mia s best friend. They had known each other since elementary school, and now they were about to graduate high school. Although Evelyn had a fear of the gulf, the thought of Mia sailing alone for a few days terrified her much more. So now using their combined strength, the two girls loaded their supplies onto the boat, and Mia proceeded to release the sailboat from its chains. Since it was her first time alone in the water, without the assistance of her father or uncle, Mia had made sure to map out the area that the girls would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 32. The Novel The Spirit Level I Came Into Inequality While reading The Spirit Level I came into conclusion that the inequality in developed countries is great threat to society as a whole. The major issues that are brought up in the book are the inequality between the rich and the poor in developed countries but also the comparison between developing countries. The book dives into several factors that are the effects of the inequality ranging from obesity, teenage birth, life expectancy etc.... I would discuss in depth on each of these factors and how they all are key components in society and how they add to the inequality in developed countries. One of the first factors the book brings up is the issue of trust and how it is a main factor in society, trust is what keeps us from not turning on each other and seeing others as cooperative rather than competitive. According to the book trust has fallen from a high 60 percent from 1960 to a low of less than 40 percent in 2004 , this facts gives insight into the society we are living in now. When I read this, I could only think of the mindset many people have now, job security is tight and that everyone is seen as competition. I for one living in America I always have a sense that everyone wants to be on top, and they are willing to do everything to get the job or position, instead of trying to change the way of selfishness, we are adding to it, especially with social media. Social media has it pros but it has very damaging cons, ideas of self worth and values are being shoved ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
