Cultural Relativism And Morals And Codes
Philosophy has many different topics that are debatable and have been argued throughout its long
history. Cultural relativism is a very interesting and controversial topic in the philosophical/ religious
world. To further understand cultural relativism one must first learn the definition. Cultural relativism
is the view that Different cultures have different moral codes and values, therefore culture is
subjective and arbitrary. When given a closer look at cultural relativism we come to the conclusion
that it is not as plausible as it first appears and that certain moral values are needed in creating a
sustainable and thriving society (57).In This paper I will begin with a short analyst briefly stating the
beliefs of a cultural relativist, explaining their values and examining their views on cultural morals
and codes. Then moving on to analyzing the Argument of cultural differences which discusses the
view that there is no universal right or wrong when examining cultures moral views; a cultures morals
and values are simply a matter of opinion. Lastly I will confirm that every culture has a diminutive
amount moral views and values. As we observe cultural relativism a relativist of this theory would
assume the claim that all moral rules and values are only relative to culture; the views of a culture are
subjective and arbitrary. Meaning there is no real universal standard when examining another cultures
views and morals every standard is dependent on a cultures own

Truman s Domestic And Foreign Policies
President Harry S. Truman was born in Lamar, Missouri on May 8, 1884. The son of John Anderson
Truman and Martha Ellen (Young) Truman. Truman s father worked as mule trader and a farmer while
Martha was a musician and homemaker. Young Truman had three siblings growing up and eventually
married his childhood love Bess Wallace on June 28, 1919, (Truman Biography , n.d.).
President Harry S. Truman assumed the responsibilities and duties of an American President after the
death of President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1945. Upon his initiation as president Truman was tasked
with what he referred to as the year of decisions, in which he analyzed the war and formulated logical
and cost efficient solutions to end WWII, (Truman Biography , n.d.).
Truman s domestic and foreign policies were created to successfully transition the United States into a
post war or peace time economy while avoiding a nationwide economic depression. Truman was
successful in his goal to transition the nation s economy, but only a select few of his policies were
passed by congress, such as Truman s 21 point program, Fair Deal and Brannan Program, as well as
the Truman Doctrine and Marshall plan, ( Harry S. Truman, n.d.).
The Truman Doctrine was a foreign policy by President Harry S. Truman in response to the British
having removed their aid to parts of Greece and Turkey that were the opposition in a war against
communism influenced by the Soviet Union. Truman s Marshall Plan named after his

The Roller Coaster-Personal Narrative
Oh look, a roller coaster! Yuu, hurry up! I sighed and shoved my hands in my pockets as I wondered
how in the world I had gotten myself into this mess. Shinoa, Mitsuba, Kimizuki, Yoichi, and I were at
the fair, being dragged along by Shinoa, who was caught up in her excitement. She had given me no
choice but to come, talking endlessly about her plans and not letting me get a word in otherwise, and
then leaving before I could decline her offer. I wasn t looking where I was looking (such an overused
trope, I know) and ran into the back of Kimizuki, who immediately turned around to start yelling at
me. I rolled my eyes and he looked like he was ready to fight me when Yoichi intervened and pointed
to where Shinoa and Mitsuba were standing. There, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Yochi had a smile on his face, while Kimizuki and Mitsuba were laughing at me. I looked at him. Hey,

Sociological Approach To Deviance Essay
Exploration into the social world embarks upon the various methods and functions that are responsible
for constructing the concise understandings of sociology. The concept of deviance configures into the
sociological outlook through the emancipation of social control. Hence, the factors associated with
deviant objectives immerse among the ways in which sociology is conducted. The enormity of
sociological concepts happens to be broken down into three definite approaches, which allows the
fundamentals to be processed via perspective. Deviance, then can be explained within these methods
to procure the effects that each form has on social contexts. Therefore, the approaches to sociology
and the forms of deviance determine significant elements in the societal atmosphere.
As sociologists divulge into the complexities of their studies, there engages a pattern of similarities
among differing areas of sociology. By close examination of the repetitive patterns, a specific method
evolves for researching and understanding that category of societal contexts. Therefore, an evolution
of three different approaches were conducted in order to achieve the extent of information available in
sociology. Strategic methods allowed multiple perspectives to examine the same content while
reaching various objectives, hence acquiring numerous solutions to a singular issue. With the
availability of a range of solutions came forth the sociological approaches: Positivist Sociology,
Interpretive Sociology,

The History of Japanese Ninjas
In today s society, ninjas have evolved into turtles or movie extras. Both are very poor representations
of what a ninja truly was in Japan in the ages past. Ninjas were not reptiles or someone to trifle with
either. These highly trained assassins have a back story shrouded in mystery, warlords squabbling to
gain their favor, training and operations of a dark nature.
The well known black garbed assassins, known as ninjas, are commonly considered to be Japanese in
origin. Though ninjas themselves are from Japan, their philosophy or ideals actually came from China.
In the fourth century, a man named Sun Tzu wrote The Art of War. This collection of ideas heavily
influenced the way of the ninja. Therefore, the idea of the ninja came from China, but the ninjas were
trained and fought in Japan.
In the tenth century through the fifteenth centuries, the ninjas were in heavy demand. Japan was a
fractured nation at this time. There was no true central power to unify all the different nobles. Without
this central power the warlords fought each other. During this time ninjas were used regularly
(Grabainowski). However, in the Tokugawa period, Tokugawa was able to unify Japan. This meant
that the ninjas were no longer needed. Some ninjas are still being trained today but not nearly as many
as in the tenth century.
In Japan s civil war, warlords continuously fought one another in hopes of gaining enough land and
resources to be capable of conquering all of Japan (Bertrand). To do this

They are easier to market in a standardized way than other products because there are no traditional
cultural values attached to their meanings.
2. Price: Price will always vary from market to market. Price is affected by many variables: cost of
product development (produced locally or imported), cost of ingredients, cost of delivery
(transportation, tariffs, etc.), and much more. Additionally, the product s position in relation to the
competition influences the ultimate profit margin. Whether this product is considered the high end,
expensive choice, the economical, low cost choice, or something in between helps determine the price
point.
3. Place: How the product is distributed is also a country by country decision influenced by how the
competition is being offered to the target market. Using Coca Cola as an example again, not all
cultures use vending machines. In the United States, beverages are sold by the pallet via warehouse
stores. In India, this is not an option. Placement decisions must also consider the product s position in

Hernan Cortes To Mexico
HERNAN CORTES AND THE CONQUEST OF AZTEC EMPIRE
To begin with, the turning point in Aztec empire was the time when Spanish conquisadors entered into
the empire in 1519, with their chief general, Hernan Cortes. He is well known for conquering the
Aztec empire and also for being the first governor of Mexico. This led to complete transformation of

The 1967 Film The Battle Of The Algiers
The 1967 movie, The Battle of the Algiers, follows the story of the Algerian revolt against the French
government. The film, focusing mostly on the Arabs point of view, portrays an unstable period of time
during the French colonialization of Algeria. Throughout the movie, the gender politics shown are
greatly troubling to a modern audience, with women being treated like objects during the entire revolt.
This also ties to the idea of morality within the film, showing that the terrorists are heartless and
uncompassionate towards the French people. The film not only highlights the morality issues with the
Arabs, but also the French treatment of the Algerian revolutionaries.
The gender differences throughout the movie prove to be extremely unsettling,

The Complete Manual to Suicide
The way our society views other people by their appearance will probably never change. In some
ways, everyone has it set in their mind what makes a person perfect . These characteristics may
include personal appearance, wealth and intelligence. One does not always take the time to get to
know a person, but make assumptions about people. Two poems, which show different views, include
Richard Cory by Edwin Arlington Robinson and Barbie Doll by Marge Piercy. In the Barbie doll, the
author writes about a girl s life. The author starts off by describing her childhood. She was given dolls
and toys like any other girl and she also put on some lipstick. This girl ... Show more content on

these poems follow each other in society that exists even today. As a society, we select who we look
up to and who we view as everything. It is from these celebrities that society learns what is beautiful
and girls like in Barbie Doll don t fit in. Everyone saw a fat nose on thick legs, In the end, neither of
these characters win. They both have their own pressures, brought on by the society they live in. These
problems still pervade in our society today. These two poems show that across the board, anyone can
feel pressured into committing suicide. It doesn t matter of the age, gender, or how much money we
have everyone can be screwed up. This often is the pressures and expectations of society to be perfect
like in Barbie Doll, or the man who everyone wants to be. The American dream is to be rich and
famous, to have everyone want to be you. The nightmare of the situation is that you still won t be
happy once you reach this goal. In the same way trying to change something about yourself like the
way you look it will lead you to never be happy as you are. There will always be something to change.
These poems express that the higher you are placed on a scale

Kino s Emotions in Steinbeck’s Novel, The Pearl Essay
A small twist of fate can destroy the life of an individual. Kino, a Mexican, pearl diver, is in desperate
need of help when his baby, Coyotito, is stung by a scorpion. Kino feels his only hope is to find a
pearl beautiful enough to sell. His dream comes true when he discovers a magnificent pearl one
morning. At first the discovery of the pearl can be looked upon as not only a miracle but also a life
saver. Throughout the novel it becomes apparent the pearl is no where close to a miracle. Kino s life
becomes a struggle with many decisions that have to be made. In Steinbeck s novel, The Pearl, the
power of the pearl relates to Kino s emotions. Kino is hopeful in the beginning of the novel, and the

Kino s feeling of hope soon turns anger and greed, and in turn the pearl begins to have evil powers.
His plan of selling the pearl does not work out when he is only offered a small amount of money. Kino
becomes angry with the fact that he is not going to receive the amount of money he feels he deserves
and decides to keep the pearl. Kino becomes obsessed with the pearl and his life begins to change
drastically. Kino admits, This pearl has become my soul. If I give it up, I shall lose my soul (87; ch. 5).
Kino is attacked by a group of men hoping to steal the pearl; Kino, not thinking clearly, kills one of
the attackers. Kino realizes what he did is wrong decides to run away, so he takes his family and goes
into hiding. While hiding, trackers begin looking for Kino and his family. Kino decides to try and
attack the men in hopes of saving his family but one of the men shots into the air and kills Coyotito.
After killing both of the trackers, Kino realizes what the pearl has done to his life and decides his only
hope is to get rid of the pearl. Kino returns to the beach where he found the pearl and throws it back

Chromium Essay
Chromium, the seventh most abundant element on earth is a transition metal from group VI B .It is
found in nature as the bound form constituting approximately 0.1 0.3 mg.g 1 of the earth s crust. The
name of the element is derived from the Greek word chroma meaning color, because many of its
compounds are intensely colored. Cr is able to exist in several oxidation states, of which the trivalent
Cr (III) and hexavalent Cr (VI) species are the most stable and abundant forms (Zayed Terry et al.,
2003).
The most stable form of chromium is its trivalent oxidation state which is primarily found geologically
as chromite (FeCr2O4) (Cervantes et al., 2001). Cr (III) is naturally occurring, whereas Cr (VI) is of
anthropogenic origin. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The deficiency of chromium has been implicated in impaired insulin action, which can cause glucose
intolerance, elevated glucose blood levels, diabetes, elevated cholesterol levels, obesity and heart
diseases, as well as other conditions not yet documented. Chromium is considered the cofactor for all
the actions of the hormone insulin, primarily the regulation of carbohydrate, protein and fat
metabolism. Signs of chromium deficiency are widespread; they tend to be associated with aging, and
are consistent with the progressive decline in body and organ content of chromium from birth onward.
Chromium deficiency impairs glucose utilization and disturbs protein and lipid metabolism
The biological effect of chromium is highly dependent on its oxidation state. Cr(VI) is highly toxic
and has been shown to be a mutagen and carcinogen, whereas Cr(III) is considered to be relatively
innocuous, probably due to the inability of Cr(III) to penetrate cells (Cervantes et al., 2001; Codd et
al., 2001).Chromate alone does not react with DNA in vitro, however, in the presence of reductants a
wide variety of DNA lesions, including Cr DNA adducts, DNA DNA crosslinks, DNA protein
crosslinks and oxidative damage occurs (Codd et al., 2001).
Under normal physiological conditions, Cr6+ reacts spontaneously with the intracellular reductants
(e.g. ascorbate and glutathione) to generate the short lived intermediates Cr5+ and/or Cr4+ free
radicals and the end product Cr3+

Contemporary culture, however, plays a different role. As current contemporary movies, music, visual
arts and other entertainment forms produced by Vietnamese resolve around the Vietnamese national
cultural identity , which almost always incorporates Chinese elements or Chinese influence in some
ways: in its language, practiced customs, art motifs, etc., as addressed. Vietnam s contemporary
culture, in this condition, has the same low probability of dividing between the Chinese elements and
quintessentially Vietnamese . However, in reality, the concept of Vietnamese contemporary culture
does not only include productions by Vietnamese people. As the Vietnamese community reacts and
corresponds to foreign cultural productions as engagingly as they do with Vietnamese produced goods,
this country s contemporary culture encompasses these alien productions. In this context, culture is
more easily categorizable. Additionally, making the first step in protesting with contemporary culture
is a logical movement. Unlike other goods exchangeable economically, which can be manipulated to
present as if from a different origin, Chinese contemporary cultural productions take significantly
distinct forms. As they are very distinguishable the use of Mandarin s often a giveaway differentiation

Effects Of Une-Con Mussolini
The Italian fascist regime between the years 1922 to 1943 provoked many changes in areas such as
education, religion, foreign influence and culture. In the film Un TĂš Con Mussolini, Zeffirelli attempts
to advocate certain implications to the viewers by purposely choosing to either conceal or reveal many
of these transitions and their effects on the different sectors of Italian society. For instance, although
the central character Luca is presented to have some form of schooling the film fails to address any of
the educational procedures that the Prime Minister put in place in order to eliminate illiteracy and
allow for all children to attain a decent education. Instead of highlighting the success in this part of the
regime, Zeffirelli rather ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the film we see this reality in how after mid 1940 when Italy declared war on Britain and France it
was a dangerous time to be Jewish, as there were spies that would denounce them to the fascist
authorities. In addition, like Elsa, Jews who were looking for a way out the country were often
deceived and had their valuables and capital stolen, as there was an attitude similar to that of Nazi
Germany in which people believed that the Jews through scheme managed to have power and
manipulate areas of finance and politics. (127) However, what Un TĂš Con Mussolini doesn t show is
that many fascists were Jews themselves and that Mussolini was never a complete anti Semite
devotee, for many people whom he admired and worked with were Jewish too, such as Margherita
Sarfatti, his long time mistress and propaganda manager. (Paul, C.E. Zaczek) In addition, to further
show his detestation towards Mussolini, the movie withholds that part of the reason why the dictator
implemented the anti Semitic policy of 1938, was due to the fact that he was under pressure to please
Hitler and gain Germany s support in Abyssinia.(115) The reason as to why Zeffirelli chooses to
conceal this is rather unclear, as it is a piece of evidence that slightly lessens Mussolini s malice and
shows a different side to him. However, through this portrayal what can be held true for certain is that
one of the director s main aims is to persuade the audience of Il Duce s

Analysis Of The Poem Judith Of Bethulia ( Brine, Ciletti...
INTRODUCTION
The poem Judith illustrates the executing of Assyrian general Holofernes by Judith of Bethulia (Brine,
Ciletti and LĂ€hnemann 86). The poem looks at Judith as a woman of morals, courage, and religious
conviction, and her character is portrayed as virtuous and blameless. Judith returns victorious to her
city after killing the mortal enemy, and her people proceed to win the battle against their foes (Brine,
Ciletti and LĂ€hnemann 86). Thus, the poet gives an opportunity to witness the efforts of the poet
trying to fit a female into a setting of men in the society. The poem majorly focuses on heroism and
the main styles are looked at with respect to themes within Judith poem. Judith s beauty is adored and

Though giving Judith the military role may be a deliberate choice by the poet. The clearest indicator of
the poet to portray Judith as a military leader is his use of contrast. The poet depicts Holofernes as the
epitome of evil. In contrast, Judith is depicted as pure goodness (Brine, Ciletti and LĂ€hnemann 98).
Therefore, the two characters directly oppose each other. The two groups represented by Holofernes
and Judith, the Assyrians and Bethulians are also contrasted via a clever use of traditional heroic
language.
It is natural to see Judith as everything that a commander needs to be. For instance, on the night
preceding the battle between the Bethulians and Assyrians, Holofernes calls the senior soldiers of his
army to a feast. Certainly, Holofernes does not know that the Bethulians will attack the following day,
but a military commander probably would not allow all of his soldiers to be made drunk (Brine, Ciletti
and LĂ€hnemann 100). In the same instance, the poet refers to Judith s battle is fought on a bed against
an unconscious man and not on the battlefield. Is Judith act is not heroic as Holofernes passes out after
drinking too much. She does not kill Holofernes in the heat of battle, but rather in a quite cold blooded
fashion.
Judith s actions are very personalized and private, in contrast to male heroes. The poet stresses the
secretive environment of Holofernes s tent and bed. The

Borderline Personality Disorder

Psychology of Personality
Catinia Farrington
INTRODUCTION
Personality disorders have been documented in approximately 9 percent of the general U.S. population
(Angstman, Rasmussen, 2011). Emotional dysregulation disorder or its common name borderline
personality disorder is a very serious and chronic disorder. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of
Mental Disorders Fourth Edition (DSM IV) describes borderline personality disorder as a pervasive
pattern of instability of interpersonal relationships, self image, and affects, and marked impulsivity
that begins by early adulthood and is present in a variety of contexts (Gardner, 2006). Within the last
20 years, psychologists and other mental health professionals have made tremendous strides in
research on what exactly borderline personality disorder, some of its triggers and possible effective
treatment options. Borderline personality disorder is defined as a disorder that generates severe
emotional instability which can be a springboard that can lead to other stress induced mental and
behavioral problems.
HOW IS BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER DIAGNOSED?
Personality disorders is an umbrella term. There are a variety of personality disorders, and each
disorder has its own unique identifier that makes them different from other personality disorders.
Because each personality disorder differs from the next, these disorders are separated and is

Fight The Fees Movement Analysis
The various demands mentioned above by the Fight the Fees movement have been supported with
multiple arguments that have been explicitly mentioned within their website. The primary, most
obvious justification for their demands would be the simple fact that Ontario constitutes the highest
tuition rates in all of Canada, as the current framework allows tuition for domestic students to increase
approximately three to five percent annually (Canadian Federation of Students, 2016). This argument
then leads to the discrimination this creates towards students of middle low income households that
are simply unable to afford such high rates. Racism is another issue that is brought up within this
dilemma because it is argued that those who come from racialized or marginalized groups are at
greater risk of facing such realities of financial instability. The group specifically refers to visible
minorities and indigenous communities and the struggles they face within the current white
supremacist and racist Canadian society we live in. Furthermore, the Fight the Fees movement also

Febrile Epilepsy Research Paper
Each year, one in one hundred people in the United State develop epilepsy, but there is a less common
type of epilepsy. It s called febrile infection related epileptic syndrome, more commonly known as
FIRES. I happen to know one of the few people who have this type of epilepsy. Her name is Kailee,
and she goes to my brother s school. She was even in some of his classes. This type of epilepsy occurs
in school aged children between the ages of six and seventeen ( What is FIRES? ). It starts with a mild
febrile illness that lasts anywhere from four days to two weeks. Febrile illness is when someone has a
fever but they aren t sick with anything else ( Febrile Illness ). When Kaylee was at this point, her
mom thought she had the flu. This is very common, as the flu presents itself as a fever in many
children. Then, the child starts to have seizures. The seizures occur very quickly, and the child needs
to be hospitalized immediately at this point. Seizures the children experience are non focal, meaning
they have no consistent starting point or ending point in the brain ( What is FIRES ). The disease is

Due to its low prevalence, they aren t able to study enough patients to get any solid results. However,
there are some ideas as to what causes the seizures. First of all, it could be genetic. The problem with
this theory is that no gene has been found that could link to FIRES. Some scientists think the disease
is a result of an autoimmune response, while others think the seizures are caused by a malfunction in
the metabolic process of some cells. Both of these theories have little evidence to support them.
FIRES could be a result of the febrile illness that comes before the seizures. The idea is that the
increased heat in the body results in the mutation of a pathogen. The new pathogen might attack the

Questions will be out of order. How does measurements of SI help with business and commerce?
Companies need the exact amount and ingredients of what to put in their product. Such as a can of
soda. A can of soda normally contains 12 fluid ounces. 12 fluid ounces is approximately 354 grams.
These companies are using some sort of measurement system. We use something called imperial
system where as most countries use metric system. Governments don t want confusion to be amongst
them, so they only adopt on system of measurement. Why do scientists only prefer one system of
measurement? I think this is simply due to them not wanting to convert all their units into a whole
other dimension. Besides the fact that people are lazy. One interesting feature

The Art Of War During China s Spring And Autumn Period
The Art of War was written during China s Spring and Autumn period. The war had lasted hundreds of
years when the peace was broken. It could be likened to the pre World War II Europe and people
called the period as Warring States Period. However, during the time there arose a general from the
state of Ch i known as Sun Tzu. His ability to win victories for his warlord gained him fame and
power.
Sun Tzu is known as a Chinese military strategist, Taoist philosopher, and general in the 6th century

known as The Thirteen Chapters). Sun Wu expanded his 13 chapter Art of War into 82 chapters and

Essay On Drug Addiction
When a person has a drug addiction, they have a disease that has the ability to affect and hurt the
entire family. Everyone in the addict s immediate family is affected in one way or another. Addiction
impacts a family s finances, physical health as well as psychological wellbeing. It can also cause
tension, miscommunication, and more frequent arguments within a household which in turn creates an
unhealthy environment for everyone involved. The addict can be very unpredictable which can cause
anxiety, emotional pain, stress, and a loss of trust because that person cannot be counted on to follow
through with what they say. Frequently, the people who are addicted don t even realize or believe they
are causing these problems within their families. And unfortunately, they don t view themselves as
sick or suffering from a problem, so they don t reach out for help. When the person finally realizes
they may have a problem, they believe the solution is to escape and run away from their addiction.
In Sonny s Blues, Sonny tells his brother I couldn t tell you when Mama died but the reason I wanted
to leave Harlem so bad was to get away from drugs. And then, when I ran away, that s what I was
running from really. (218) At this point, Sonny is telling his brother he was willing to leave his family
behind to run away from his addiction. But it also shows how misguided he was, or rather all drug
addicts, to think he could just run away from the drugs. Because in the end, he ends

Populism And Propaganda
It was not until the waning months of the War that Americans first began to learn about the Holocaust.
As Allied soldiers advanced through Germany, they discovered camps filled with starving
undesirables, primarily Jews, as well as the instruments of death on an industrial scale. This horrifying
discovery gave Americans a kind of moral justification for the war that they sacrificed their labor,
loved ones, and lives in. To a people already shocked numb from the continued and unabating death
and destruction of the previous six years, this uncovering of evil on such a massive scale cemented in
the hearts of the world a desire to prevent such a global injustice from happening again. It is worth
remembering the circumstances surrounding the rise of extremist hatred and nationalism that inspired
the War and made possible the Holocaust. Eighty five years ago, the ... Show more content on

We must all promote a culture of compassion and reason, through education, appropriate political
discourse, and a structuring of our media that prevents the effective dissemination of propaganda. The
rise of populism around the world makes the aggressive promotion of these values even more urgent.
Populism is not inherently bad nor good, but it is a very powerful political force, and not likely to
relent without significant changes to the political order as we know it. As Bernie Sanders and Donald
Trump demonstrated in America and the Syriza and Golden Dawn parties demonstrated in Greece,
populism can take very different forms. We must not let popular unrest become a vehicle for hate and
for the degradation of democratic values, as it was in the years leading up to the War. Now more than
ever, our commitment to human rights must not be forgotten: too much is at stake to risk repeating

Combustion is a complex chemical process in which a substance reacts rapidly with oxygen
accompanied by the production of heat. (Grc.nasa.gov, 2015). The original substance is called the fuel
and the oxygen is called the oxidizer. Along with heat, CO2 (carbon dioxide) and H2O (water) are
created as byproducts of the exothermic reaction. ( E inst.com 2015).

Workplace Diversity Of The Workplace
Job s face many struggles and challenges each and every day. Workplace diversity is something which
is being talked about the most here lately. Out breaks of minimum wage, sexualities, gender, and even
your skin color affects what diversity a business would want. Within the business, the professional
level is set pretty high due to the superior designers making us able to dress well fashioned. When
people step into a business they do not want someone that is going to walk in with a t shirt and gym
shorts, they would rather them be in dress pants and a nice dress shirt with fashionable shoe wear. It
does not have to be the top notch designer clothing, just something which doesn t scream I just woke
up from bed. The thing which is being most talked about these days is diversity. People who are
African American, white, Hispanic, gay, lesbian, bisexual, male, or even female could feel unwanted
at a higher end business. The more people are expanding their personalities and how much they want
to be shown that anyone could do anything just as much as the next man is outrageous. Workplace
diversity is becoming more intense as the years continue on and it is important to employers and
employees for a number of reasons, a few of them being that it would gain mutual respect with
everyone, conflict resolution would not be as much of an issue, and lastly the increased exposure due
to all of the workplace diversity. Kitts 2

reflected in the world of Blade Runner, where people live in fear and paranoia of the replicants,
creating tests to find these replicants and creating a police force for killing them. It even got to the

The Deregulation Of The U.s. Economy
In the 1920s, there was an increase in bank credit and loans. Confident in the potency of the U.S.
economy, the stock market became a one way bet. Many consumers borrowed money to buy shares.
Firms took out more loans for expansion. Because people took on so much debt, it meant they became
more vulnerable to a change in confidence. When that change came in the form of the 1929 crash,
those who had borrowed money were left exposed. Moreover, rush to sell shares trying to remedy
their debts. Interconnected to buying shares on credit was the practice of buying shares on the margin.
To buy on the margin meant you paid between 10 20 percent of the value of the shares; but it also
meant you were financing 80 90 percent of the value of the shares. This allowed more currency to be
invested, which inflated the value of each share. Numerous investors made millions buying on the
margin, the so called margin millionaire investors made millions in profits buying on the margin and
observing the rising price of their share. However, it also left stockholders vulnerable when prices fell.
During the 1920s, the virtually endless increasing movement of the markets seemed to make this
practice practicable, Exacerbating this tendency was the fact that more and more investors were
getting bank advances in order to pay the preliminary marginal buy in, Thusly resulting in there being
very little tangible currency supporting these stocks values. As investors and brokers began to identify

According to researcher Lindner (1998), motivated employees are needed in our rapidly changing
workplaces to aid in the survival of organizations. Not only is it important to meet the needs of the
consumer, it is equally important that to make sure that associates are taken care of and remain
motivated. For this reason, Gibson, Ivancevich, Donnelly and Konopaske (2012) states much of
management s time is spent addressing the motivation of their employees (p. 125). According to the
Encyclopedia of Small Business (2007), employee motivation is the level of energy, commitment, and
creativity employees bring to their jobs; the inner force that drives individuals to accomplish personal
and organizational goals (Lindner, 1988). Despite its obvious importance, employee motivation can be
an elusive quest for managers due to the multiplicity of incentives that can influence employees to do
their best work. The reality is that every employee has different ways to become motivated and the
knowledge of how to motivate them is key to organizational success. It is imperative that employers
get to know the personal needs and wants of their employees in order to establish tactics in which to
motivate each of them. Once achieved, managers are in a better position to encourage and reward
employees to behave in effective ways (Gibson et al, 2012, p.

A Lie Is What Kept Me Free
A Lie Is What Kept Me Free
Lies often overcomplicate situations by causing a person to have to continually tell more lies to cover
up the original, when he or she could have just told the truth in the beginning. However, the problem
is that the other option is not always so great either. The truth is perfectly honest, and that can cause
one to get in trouble. I believe the main reason why we, as humans, lie is to protect ourselves and to
protect the things for which we have much affection. Once, I had told a lie to keep myself from getting
into more trouble than telling the truth would gotten me. This lie protected from losing what was the
most important thing I had at the time, my freedom. This is the story of the time I lied to protect my
freedom. To understand why I lied, it is primarily important to understand why I believe my freedom
was at risk. I grew up in a sheltered environment in the sense that for a long time I was sheltered from
much of the outside world and sheltered from making my own decision. For example, my parents
believed that I wasn t ready to sleep over a friend s house, whose parents they had known for five
years, until I was in high school. Due to this upbringing, I felt a severe lack of personal freedom when
I entered high school. I believed that I would get more freedom when I turned sixteen and would be
legally old enough to drive because I had always been a well behaved kid. However around the time I
turned fifteen, my parents began to argue

The Human Perception of Pain in Conjunction with the Mind Body Problem
There is more research surfacing supporting the notion that people can control their pain. What is left
under examined is the notion of whether the pain is mediated by the brain, mind, or both. We all know
that pain is an instinctive sense if you will, necessary to the survival of all living beings. Without pain,
it would go unrecognized and exacerbate to the point of death. Pain is a protective mechanism
essential to survival. There are three important claims here: One is that pain is actually a perception.
The second, is the brain mediates the suppression of pain through a gate in the spinal cord. Lastly,
since pain is a perception, the mind may decide the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a sense, this means that the brain creates the mental state or the percept of pain. It is also important
to discuss the brain structures associated with the pain activation because these structures are
essentially the means to the end state of what we call pain .
The pain process starts out with a stimulus which activates somatosensory axons from the skin,
muscles, or internal organs to enter the nervous system via spinal nerves. Axons that convey sharp
localized information, like fine touch, ascend through the dorsal columns of the spinal cord, referred
to as the fast pathway, to the nuclei in the lower medulla (3). From the medulla, the axons cross the
brain and ascend through the medial lemniscus to the ventral posterior nuclei of the thalamus, the
somatosensation receiver (bodily sensation). Axons from the thalamus project to the primary
somatosensory cortex which are then relayed to the secondary somatosensory cortex. Conversely,
axons that convey less localized information, like pain or temperature, ascend through the
spinothalamic tract, the slow pathway, and terminate in the ventral posterior nuclei of the thalamus
(3),(9). The end site for both of these pathways is in the somatosensory cortex.
These pathways also activate the anterior cingulate cortex, a region of limbic cortex on the medial side
of cerebral hemispheres, which processes and understands pain. Studies show

The Opening Of The Imperial Ballet School
After the Romantic era ballet had died out in Paris and Russia became the new focus. In 1738, the
opening of the Imperial Ballet School in St. Petersburg attracted many great dancers and
choreographers such as Marie Taglioni. This school was controlled by an aristocrat named Czar. The
most well known 19th century choreographer, Marius Petipa, became the ballet master of the entire
school, shaping imperial and classical ballet. Ideas such as increased focus on technique, formulaic
choreography, mime and gesture, and lengthy ballets can be seen in Petipa s most famous ballets.
These famous ballets include The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, and Swan Lake. In the 20th
century, Sergei Diaghilev introduced a traveling ballet company called Ballet Russes. Starting out in
Paris, this company brings together Russian and Western ideas with a spark of modernism. This
company brought together revolutionary collaborations between choreographers, dancers, composers,
artists, and fashion designers. Through the development of Russian ballet, there has been rejection and
embracement as well as changes in structure and choreography. Ballet master Marius Petipa moved to
Russia because he felt hidden in the shadows of his more famous brother Lucien Petipa. For three
decades, he was the ballet master of the Imperial Ballet School creating lavish, extravagant ballets
unlike the previous Romantic era had. Petipa had some new ideas for the ballet. For example,

Informative Essay On Wrestling
The sport of wrestling has been going on for thousands of years. Our earliest ancestors have been
known to play the sport. Back in the caveman times in France the drawings have showed us two men
grappling and fighting (College Sports). This is showing the two men wrestling. Wrestling to me has
been the toughest sport I have had to participate in so far in my athletic career.
Why do I call the title ancient you ask, well it s because wrestling has been on earth for a very long
time. Like I said in the upper paragraph is that its been here on earth since back to the cave paintings
found in France. Now wrestling to the Greeks was very big in their history. It was their number one
sport that they had played. The wresting though would get very violent at some points and get messy.
Wrestling was also big in other places like England. They would have wrestling matches and
tournament held there as well as the Greek people. The Americans took the idea to America and

I enjoy picking kids up by their own two legs when hitting the double leg takedowns and putting them
on the mat. When you cradle you wrap your arms around their head and one of their legs and clench
your hands together and squeeze. While you are doing this u try to get parallel with your hips on their
hips and put them on their back. Lastly the crucifix can only be hit if they try to flip you around using
a move called the Peterson. After you hit the crucifix their back should be on the ground with their
legs upright in the air.
Dan Gable once said, Once you ve wrestled, everything else in life is easy. (Dan Gable). I agree with
this quote because truly everything else I have done in life is much easier. When you have entered on
the mat and u=you are wrestling for four minutes using all your strength and energy is pretty hard to
do. Once you have wrestled looking back you realize how easy it

the constant mention of what the Lord our God has truly done for them. The name of the book has the
meaning of Second Law . This means the Moses has to reiterate to the Israelites a second time as he
was the messenger. In the book of Deuteronomy, has a lot of useful information to learn from. In the

He is urging the audience to pay attention to God s word and to constantly obey him. He wants them
comply with all of God s demands, laws, and orders. The book of Deuteronomy is stated to be the
book of laws. In the book between the chapter of five and twenty eight Moses is recapitulating the Ten
Commandments to Gods chosen people the Israelites. In these chapters, Moses also explains to the
Israelites how to be people of God and be worthy of his kingdom. He tells them how to properly

Moses reiterates to the people present themselves before God. It explains how they can become a
union, as well as their attitude and belief toward him.
Love
The Lord God is filled with many emotions and one of those is Love. The Lord God loves his people
so much and is willing to do anything for them. The Lord God made many promises to the nation and
they were promises that he wanted to keep. He is someone of his word and would not want to
disappoint or go against his people. The Lord our God wanted to be loved by the nation of Israel. The
book of deuteronomy shows that the Lord God loved and cared for the Israelites as a father would his
own children because they were the children of Israel. The book states that the Lord would be kind to

  • 2. Cultural Relativism And Morals And Codes Philosophy has many different topics that are debatable and have been argued throughout its long history. Cultural relativism is a very interesting and controversial topic in the philosophical/ religious world. To further understand cultural relativism one must first learn the definition. Cultural relativism is the view that Different cultures have different moral codes and values, therefore culture is subjective and arbitrary. When given a closer look at cultural relativism we come to the conclusion that it is not as plausible as it first appears and that certain moral values are needed in creating a sustainable and thriving society (57).In This paper I will begin with a short analyst briefly stating the beliefs of a cultural relativist, explaining their values and examining their views on cultural morals and codes. Truman s father worked as mule trader and a farmer while Martha was a musician and homemaker. Young Truman had three siblings growing up and eventually married his childhood love Bess Wallace on June 28, 1919, (Truman Biography , n.d.). President Harry S. Truman assumed the responsibilities and duties of an American President after the death of President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1945. Upon his initiation as president Truman was tasked with what he referred to as the year of decisions, in which he analyzed the war and formulated logical and cost efficient solutions to end WWII, (Truman Biography , n.d.). Truman s domestic and foreign policies were created to successfully transition the United States into a post war or peace time economy while avoiding a nationwide economic depression. Truman was successful in his goal to transition the nation s economy, but only a select few of his policies were passed by congress, such as Truman s 21 point program, Fair Deal and Brannan Program, as well as the Truman Doctrine and Marshall plan, ( Harry S. Truman, n.d.). The Truman Doctrine was a foreign policy by President Harry S. Truman in response to the British having removed their aid to parts of Greece and Turkey that were the opposition in a war against communism influenced by the Soviet Union. Shinoa, Mitsuba, Kimizuki, Yoichi, and I were at the fair, being dragged along by Shinoa, who was caught up in her excitement. She had given me no choice but to come, talking endlessly about her plans and not letting me get a word in otherwise, and then leaving before I could decline her offer. I wasn t looking where I was looking (such an overused trope, I know) and ran into the back of Kimizuki, who immediately turned around to start yelling at me. In the fourth century, a man named Sun Tzu wrote The Art of War. This collection of ideas heavily influenced the way of the ninja. Therefore, the idea of the ninja came from China, but the ninjas were trained and fought in Japan. In the tenth century through the fifteenth centuries, the ninjas were in heavy demand. Japan was a fractured nation at this time. There was no true central power to unify all the different nobles. Without this central power the warlords fought each other. During this time ninjas were used regularly (Grabainowski). However, in the Tokugawa period, Tokugawa was able to unify Japan. This meant that the ninjas were no longer needed. Chromium Essay Chromium, the seventh most abundant element on earth is a transition metal from group VI B .It is found in nature as the bound form constituting approximately 0.1 0.3 mg.g 1 of the earth s crust. Cr is able to exist in several oxidation states, of which the trivalent Cr (III) and hexavalent Cr (VI) species are the most stable and abundant forms (Zayed Terry et al., 2003). The most stable form of chromium is its trivalent oxidation state which is primarily found geologically as chromite (FeCr2O4) (Cervantes et al., 2001). Signs of chromium deficiency are widespread; they tend to be associated with aging, and are consistent with the progressive decline in body and organ content of chromium from birth onward. Chromium deficiency impairs glucose utilization and disturbs protein and lipid metabolism The biological effect of chromium is highly dependent on its oxidation state. Cr(VI) is highly toxic and has been shown to be a mutagen and carcinogen, whereas Cr(III) is considered to be relatively innocuous, probably due to the inability of Cr(III) to penetrate cells (Cervantes et al., 2001; Codd et al., 2001).Chromate alone does not react with DNA in vitro, however, in the presence of reductants a wide variety of DNA lesions, including Cr DNA adducts, DNA DNA crosslinks, DNA protein crosslinks and oxidative damage occurs (Codd et al., 2001). The two groups represented by Holofernes and Judith, the Assyrians and Bethulians are also contrasted via a clever use of traditional heroic language. It is natural to see Judith as everything that a commander needs to be. For instance, on the night preceding the battle between the Bethulians and Assyrians, Holofernes calls the senior soldiers of his army to a feast. Certainly, Holofernes does not know that the Bethulians will attack the following day, but a military commander probably would not allow all of his soldiers to be made drunk (Brine, Ciletti and LĂ€hnemann 100). Fight The Fees Movement Analysis The various demands mentioned above by the Fight the Fees movement have been supported with multiple arguments that have been explicitly mentioned within their website. The primary, most obvious justification for their demands would be the simple fact that Ontario constitutes the highest tuition rates in all of Canada, as the current framework allows tuition for domestic students to increase approximately three to five percent annually (Canadian Federation of Students, 2016). This argument then leads to the discrimination this creates towards students of middle low income households that are simply unable to afford such high rates. Racism is another issue that is brought up within this dilemma because it is argued that those who come from racialized or marginalized groups are at greater risk of facing such realities of financial instability. When people step into a business they do not want someone that is going to walk in with a t shirt and gym shorts, they would rather them be in dress pants and a nice dress shirt with fashionable shoe wear. It does not have to be the top notch designer clothing, just something which doesn t scream I just woke up from bed. The thing which is being most talked about these days is diversity. When that change came in the form of the 1929 crash, those who had borrowed money were left exposed. Moreover, rush to sell shares trying to remedy their debts. According to researcher Lindner (1998), motivated employees are needed in our rapidly changing workplaces to aid in the survival of organizations. Not only is it important to meet the needs of the consumer, it is equally important that to make sure that associates are taken care of and remain motivated. For this reason, Gibson, Ivancevich, Donnelly and Konopaske (2012) states much of management s time is spent addressing the motivation of their employees (p. 125). According to the Encyclopedia of Small Business (2007), employee motivation is the level of energy, commitment, and creativity employees bring to their jobs; the inner force that drives individuals to accomplish personal and organizational goals (Lindner, 1988). Despite its obvious importance, employee motivation can be an elusive quest for managers due to the multiplicity of incentives that can influence employees to do their best work. The reality is that every employee has different ways to become motivated and the knowledge of how to motivate them is key to organizational success. It is imperative that employers get to know the personal needs and wants of their employees in order to establish tactics in which to motivate each of them. A Lie Is What Kept Me Free A Lie Is What Kept Me Free Lies often overcomplicate situations by causing a person to have to continually tell more lies to cover up the original, when he or she could have just told the truth in the beginning. However, the problem is that the other option is not always so great either. The truth is perfectly honest, and that can cause one to get in trouble. I believe the main reason why we, as humans, lie is to protect ourselves and to protect the things for which we have much affection. Once, I had told a lie to keep myself from getting into more trouble than telling the truth would gotten me. This lie protected from losing what was the most important thing I had at the time, my freedom. This is the story of the time I lied to protect my freedom. To understand why I lied, it is primarily important to understand why I believe my freedom was at risk. I grew up in a sheltered environment in the sense that for a long time I was sheltered from much of the outside world and sheltered from making my own decision. For example, my parents believed that I wasn t ready to sleep over a friend s house, whose parents they had known for five years, until I was in high school. Due to this upbringing, I felt a severe lack of personal freedom when I entered high school. The Human Perception of Pain in Conjunction with the Mind Body Problem There is more research surfacing supporting the notion that people can control their pain. What is left under examined is the notion of whether the pain is mediated by the brain, mind, or both. We all know that pain is an instinctive sense if you will, necessary to the survival of all living beings. Without pain, it would go unrecognized and exacerbate to the point of death. Pain is a protective mechanism essential to survival. There are three important claims here: One is that pain is actually a perception. In a sense, this means that the brain creates the mental state or the percept of pain. It is also important to discuss the brain structures associated with the pain activation because these structures are essentially the means to the end state of what we call pain . The pain process starts out with a stimulus which activates somatosensory axons from the skin, muscles, or internal organs to enter the nervous system via spinal nerves. Axons that convey sharp localized information, like fine touch, ascend through the dorsal columns of the spinal cord, referred to as the fast pathway, to the nuclei in the lower medulla (3). From the medulla, the axons cross the brain and ascend through the medial lemniscus to the ventral posterior nuclei of the thalamus, the somatosensation receiver (bodily sensation). Axons from the thalamus project to the primary somatosensory cortex which are then relayed to the secondary somatosensory cortex. Conversely, axons that convey less localized information, like pain or temperature, ascend through the spinothalamic tract, the slow pathway, and terminate in the ventral posterior nuclei of the thalamus (3),(9). The end site for both of these pathways is in the somatosensory cortex. These pathways also activate the anterior cingulate cortex, a region of limbic cortex on the medial side of cerebral hemispheres, which processes and understands pain. Studies show ... In 1738, the opening of the Imperial Ballet School in St. Petersburg attracted many great dancers and choreographers such as Marie Taglioni. This school was controlled by an aristocrat named Czar. The most well known 19th century choreographer, Marius Petipa, became the ballet master of the entire school, shaping imperial and classical ballet.
