Competitive Advantage Of A Competitive
Competitive Advantage
With a competitive advantage you are able to excel within the industry, but to do so one needs to be
able to understand how to go about getting that idea advantage. There are ways that aid a business in
reaching the levels of success. With the competitive analysis you have five areas that have to be
analyzed in order to be competitive.
Being able to be competitive within the industry is a key element. Since it is overloaded with larger
firms it will be vital to lock in on services that the larger firms find not to be important to success. I
feel that one of my secrets will be utilizing my creativity within the marketing, finding lenders,
offering that extra care in customer service, and our company s integrity. By staying true to values,
will appeal to the general public in positive ways. That is when my company will become a household
name. Keeping meeting schedule on a timely basis will allow my company to see where we are at
within the month and billing cycles. This will inform us as to which direction we need to improve on.
Offering services and property that the larger firms do not feel will benefit their business will be huge
steps for the success within my company. Even this will have to be done with caution, in order to
make sure the revenue will be beneficial for everyone involved. Keeping my cost within my budget
will be mandatory in order to stay competitive. My business will have to make sure to keep its costs
low in order to

Causes Of College Tuition
There have been arguments when people discuss the price of attending college. The main argument is
whether college tuition is too expensive or not. Over the last few decades the college tuition rates have
increased drastically, but is a rate increase necessarily a good or bad thing. The cost to attend is too
expensive especially for low and middle income families. There are many reasons why tuition could
be considered too expensive; they include, rise in tuition, little financial aid, and lack of college
savings, to name a few. The first reason why college tuition is considered too expensive is the
continuing rise of tuition itself. In one article, between the years 1973 to 2008 tuition for a four year
increased from $9,876 to $25,145 for a private college, and $2,175 to $6,585 for public. While a two
year college tuition increased from $1,360 to $2,402. Within a thirty five year period tuition increased
$15,267 for a private college, $4,410 for public, and $1,042 for a two year college. This might not
seem too bad for it occurring in a thirty five year period, but really think about it college tuition
increases a little each day and it adds up pretty quickly ( Chronology: Recent Key Events in History of
College Tuition Cost 1). Sarah Turner mentions in her section of the anthology College Choices: The
Economies of Where to Go, When to Go, and How to Pay , that due to high levels of tuition students
are least likely to enroll in higher education. Turner also states that

The River From Eden, By Charles Darwin
One of the most well known atheists evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins who order to explain the
existence of the universe and emergence of life on Earth. Today, many scientist firmly believe that the
universe was created approximately when infinitely small and dense point known as singularity started
expanding 14 billion years ago. Fine tuned expansion unleashed the beginning of the time and space
itself. Our Earth formed some 4 or 5 billion years ago, and the first living single organisms appeared
in water roughly 0.5 1.5 billions years after its existence.(35, Theism, Atheism, and Big Bang
Cosmology). Over the millions of years they began to evolve from the single celled organism into
ultimately the most advanced form of life, human through the process of natural selection. The term
was popularized by Charles Darwin in 1859 to explain how animals change to adapt to the
environment for survival. Richard Dawkins states in his book The River From Eden , Genetic code is
in fact literally identical in all animals, plants, and bacteria that have ever been looked at. All earthly
living things are descended from a single ancestor. From a molecular point of, all animals are pretty
close relatives of one another and even of plants (12). Although scientists cannot scientifically explain
how or why the Big Bang started, they successfully explain what happens after the Big Bang and how
we all came to be.
The second approach that explains the beginning of the universe

Of Mice And Men Quotes About Friendship
Friendship is a bond between two people. Friendship is being by your friend s side when you are
needed and when you are not. To be a friend, you have to be trustworthy so your friend can tell you
anything. You have to be honest and have to be able to tell your friend the truth no matter the
consequences. You have to be kind and understanding so you can put yourself in your friend s shoes to
understand their situation. Most importantly, you have to be there for your friend, which means
protecting them, taking care of them, supporting them, and encouraging them. Being trustworthy,

Summary of The Embalming of Mr. Jones Essay

Summary of The Embalming of Mr. Jones
In the essay The Embalming of Mr. Jones, (1963), Jessica Mitford is describing a procedure of
embalming of a corpse. She writes that people pay a ton of money each year, but not one in ten
thousand has any idea of what actually takes place, and it is extremely hard to find books and any
information about this subject. She assumes that it must be a reason for such secrecy, and may be if
people knew more about this procedure, they would not want this service after their death.
Mitford writes that embalming has long tradition in America, but it used to be performed at home, and
all members of the family had to witness the procedure. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When this done, the corpse s face is heavily creamed to protect from chemical burns from leakage that
can happen, a body is covered and left for eight to ten hours to dry.
The next procedure involves cleaning and cosmetic restoration of the corpse. Before starting
restoration, the body is washed, shaved, and hair is shampooed. If the body has missing limbs, they
are replaced with molds of plaster. If the head is off, its edges are trimmed and it is sewn to the torso.
After cleaning and patching procedures, taking care of swollen parts of the face, the body is dressed,
and the mortician makes last touches. He covers the corpse s skin with pleasantly colored make up,
combs hair, and manicures the hands.
The body is now ready for casketing. Like in any business, there are some special secrets to casketing.
According to Mitford, the right shoulder of the body has to be depressed slightly to turn the body a bit
to the right and soften the appearance of lying flat on the back. Positioning the hands and feet is as
important as everything that was done before. There are special rubber blocks that are used for this
purpose. Finally, the body is placed in the casket as high as possible, and the mortician gives attention
to the last details.
Now the body is ready for exposition and moved into a slumber room. The last touch can be done
there; the favorite

Mortgage Underwriting Essay
When a lender is offering a mortgage loan to a borrower, he or she has to determine what are the risks
involved. In order to determine these risks, the lender uses a process known as mortgage underwriting,
in which some parameters are assessed. The underwriters consider risks that fall under the category of
credit, capacity and collateral. The decision of the underwriter is the final one to either approve a loan
or decline it. This process is so cumbersome that lenders at times contract mortgage underwriting.
There are several benefits of using contract mortgage underwriting services.
Since this is a complex process, small businesses that are trying to gain foothold in the market do not
have enough money to employ enough mortgage underwriters. Mortgage processing is a competitive
industry and it is possible that small businesses face stiff rivalry from their competitors. Stiff
competition coupled with meager working capital is often an impediment in using in house mortgage
underwriters. Thus it makes sense to hire contract underwriting services. ... Show more content on

Every borrower and every loan is different. A guideline that is working well for one borrower may not
fit another borrower. However, there are certain aspects that are standard for every borrower. There is
an old saying that goes like this: If your portfolio does not have one foreclosure, you are not accepting
enough risk. So even if the borrower has met all guidelines of the loan program he or she has applied
to, the mortgage underwriter will still assess it carefully and will exercise caution. It is important for
the underwriter to review a loan application from all points of view otherwise the banks may turn
down a loan. If a loan application shows high risk from one point of view, but shows low risk overall,
there is a chance that the loan may be

My Ability As An Effective Teacher
I have always questioned my ability as an effective teacher. Every lesson I teach or conjure up in the
wee hours of the night requires the learner in mind. Hospitals are for patients, so schools should be for
students. Yet, there is a constant gravitation towards running schools based on money and logistics.
These issues are out of the educator s hands, but the ideals, and the decision makers, that fuel them
can have detrimental effects on the teachers recruited to the field and the effectiveness with which
these teachers continue through their career.
Year after year, professional development in public education seems to try to fix the same issues with
the same conversations and the same quick fix band aids. If these conversations were ... Show more

I learned more about pedagogical skills, or the actual art of forming and lesson, reaching different
types of learners, meeting different needs, and closing achievement gaps in my graduate studies to
becoming a reading specialist, my principal certification, and my own personal experiences as a
teacher in the classroom. Although at the time I wanted my student teaching to be completed as fast as
possible, I now understand that more knowledge of my subject was necessary. Professional
development books became a weekly buy at Barnes and Noble because I was constantly trying to
figure out a better way to educate students.
University programs feel their programs are extensive enough to prepare individuals for the
classroom. As long as departments meet accreditation requirements, the effectiveness with which these
courses are taught weaken and only passing rates on final exams are scrutinized. One semester of
student teaching, coupled with field experience and a few education classes are deemed enough to fill
much needed teaching positions simply because there is a shortage of teachers. If the track to obtain a
degree is easy, there are more students. More students mean more money for the university. More
graduates mean more empty teaching jobs filled.
Student achievement is the underpinning of education and is directly correlated to teacher
effectiveness; therefore,

A Research Study On The Foster Care
Abstract
This research study will examine whether or not the foster care age out transition process, including
the availability of specific education programs (i.e. banking, home building and economics, college
prep) as well as the availability of resources provided to foster children prior to aging out of the foster
care system, has a direct impact on a perceived successful or non successful transition to independent
living. This research will gather information from three specific groups of people; current licensed
foster parents, foster care social workers and former foster children that have aged out of the foster
care system within the last two years. This study will be utilizing the nonprobability method of
purposive sampling as all research participants will be selected on the basis of their participation with
the foster care system in three different specific roles. This research will study the perceptions of
whether or not there are adequate programs designed and utilized for the purpose of successful
transition. This information will be gathered by three separate questionnaires specifically designed to
address each role of the foster care study. The information will be utilized for the intent of evaluating
the age out process of foster care for minors transitioning into adults.

The Pros And Cons Of Poverty In North America
In North America, millions of people are affected by poverty. High class members of the United States
in charge of large corporations take advantage of these lower class individuals. Impoverished
individuals who are able to find a job usually work for minimum wage and experience poor working
conditions. These lower class workers do not deserve the lifestyle they must deal with. Low class
individuals not only have to struggle with finding employment, but also have to worry about the
government of the United States mistreating them. Whether someone is an impoverished immigrant or
U.S. born citizen, it is evident that the government and large corporations in North America take
advantage of low class individuals by offering them jobs with atrocious pay and working conditions.
First, there are a huge number of impoverished individuals in North America being affected by the
government taking advantage of their social position. In the article, How the Poor Are Made to Pay for
Their Poverty, Barbara Ehrenreich shows the difficulty of being poor in America. Ehrenreich states,
Being poor itself is not yet a crime, but in at least a third of the states, being in debt can now land you
in jail (381). One example is the way law enforcement is singling out poor people by fining them for
things they cannot afford such as, not being able to pay for their children s education. America s low
class individuals already struggle to afford a decent lifestyle. The government shouldn t be

the digital world.
This has served as a crushing blow to a once thriving market. Numerous major newspapers no longer

Freud s Theory Of Human Sexuality
As we know, the practice of sexual behavior is perceived differently by diverse worldviews and
consists of a wide range of activities (Hyde DeLamater, 2014). There has been a number of debates on
whether or not the nature of human sexuality can be developed through genetics, imitated through
socialization, influenced by unconscious decisions or if it can be altered after childhood. There are a
variety of theories that have been created to help understand the uncertainty of how human sexuality is
developed. Uncovering the influence of neuroscience on sexuality and evaluating the appropriateness
of Sigmund Freud s Psychoanalytic Theory, Albert Bandura s Modeling Theory and Carl Roger s
Person Centered Theory on addressing Maria s sexual problems will be analyzed as well as their
contribution to our understanding of human sexuality.
Theory Identification
Sigmund Freud s psychoanalytic theory is one out of four major theories that have contributed to
relevancy of human sexuality. Freud coined the notion that irrational forces, unconscious motivations,
biological and instinctual drives that evolve over time are the cause for human behavior (Corey, 2013).
Freud believed that parent child interactions within childhood develops a person s unique character
type. In childhood pleasure is maximized to satisfy the demands of the id impulses, while the parent s
main focus is integrating the demands of reality and the concept of what is right and wrong. Human

Spirituality in the Victorian Era Essay
This essay will show why interest in the occult manifested in the Victorian Era and the ways in which
it did. The word occult is defined in the Oxford English Dictionary as; Not apprehended, or not
apprehensible, by the mind; beyond ordinary understanding or knowledge; abstruse, mysterious;
inexplicable. And it is with this definition that we will gain an understanding of the Victorians interest
in occultism, and the very different ways in which these interests were shared by female spiritualists,
as well as those whom had been left spiritually bereft by the work of Charles Darwin, and the
scientific thinkers of the day who believed that their work was for the greater good of humanity.

Spiritualism was an egalitarian pastime, anyone could join in. To many, communicating with the spirit

It was thought that women were naturally more sensitive to spirit communications, especially if they

Are Tattoos Appropriate In The Workplace?
Having a tattoo in the workplace doesn t hinder you from doing your job; just some employers are
looking for a reason not to hire a person. Tattoos do not prevent a person from performing their job.
This is just a way that a person may express themselves. Some people may have a tattoo as a
memorial of someone special to them that have passed on. When choosing a career make sure you
choose one that will allow you to have tattoos. For example; if you choose to be a banker you wouldn
t want to be covered from head to toe with tattoos. You would want to make sure that if you choose to
have a tattoo it can be covered up. Here are examples of a job that would allow you to have a tattoo
and not have a problem if they are covered or not is a tattoo shop or even a truck driver. But as a truck
driver you still want to make sure they are not vulgar or violent. So be careful where you get tattoos if
you choose to have them and make sure they are appropriate for the job field you choose.
Inappropriate Tattoos
Some tattoos are inappropriate for the workplace and should be covered. Tattoos that are vulgar have
profanity, or violent should not be in the workplace. If a person has one of these tattoos they should
make sure that it can be covered up. These tattoos can be offensive to an employer or other employees.
Some tattoos can represent a sign of a gang or other

James M. Acheson validates Garret Hardin s logic in Tragedy of the Commons that property rights do

open access resources have no vested interest in preserving resources over the long term and are
unable to generate regulating mechanisms.

The fisherman strongly believed that the notching process during culling, which made the sexually
proven females off limits and illegal to harvest in the future, helped in the conservation efforts and
ensured those proven breeding females would be returned to the waters. There they would be legally
protected to continue breeding without danger of being harvested in the future. Studies validated the
local fishermen s theory that females in the population showing spawned eggs were statistically more
likely to breed again and consequently would increase the egg stock in the waters and health of the
lobster populations. The Department of Marine Resources felt that the notching of the females created
conditions for infection of the females at the notch location. However, the Department yielded at the
insistence of the fishermen. There was evidence provided that the practice was in fact helping the
conservation effort. In addition, there was much discussion between the groups of the effectiveness of
conservation efforts such as minimum harvest size, trap limits, licenses and escape vents on traps. The
lobster fishermen actively participated in the decision making process and worked through their own
lobbying efforts to guide and shape legislation for the Maine lobster industry that both reflected their

What does therapeutic recreation mean to me? Therapeutic recreation is a process that utilizes
recreation and education as a way to enable a being with any type of disorder, mentally, physically or
emotionally. My personal belief is that recreation can be used to help anyone become happier or more
comfortable than they already are. To put it simply, I believe that therapeutic recreation is a very
organized way to help people, no matter the circumstance, without prejudices, or discrimination, and
judgments. It doesn t matter whether the person was born with a disability, physically or mentally, or
even if they were born with no disability and are considered to be clinically healthy , I believe as a TR
representative it is our job to improve the lives of others in any way we possibly can because if
someone isn t as happy as they can be we theoretically can at least try to help. Although I have yet to
work in a therapeutic recreational type environment, I feel that I have learned many helpful skills that
translate from other fields that I can apply to the field of TR. This past summer I worked two jobs in
two completely different fields from each other and therapeutic recreation. Working at a bar taught me
that you need to be patient and accommodating to peoples needs and wants. I also learned how big of
an impact you could make on someone s day just by doing the simplest tasks. This is especially
important in TR because our goal fully revolves around improving health and

Analysis Of The Ghost On The B-Side By Jeff Noon
Contemporary literature sought to demolish the barrier of the traditional forms of reading writing. In
doing so, this revolution impacted the way people communicated with one another. Many social
groups veered onto a rebellious path, creating the punk rock age, discovering new forms of
communication. Through the ability of remixing, the digital world motivated this new mode of
reading writing. In his piece The Ghost on the B side , Jeff Noon demonstrates the potential of
remixing. Marker Amerika expands on this theme in remixthebook (potentialism). In his piece
Cranked Up Real High: Genre Theory and Punk Rock, Stewart Home demonstrates the effects of
remixing and the punk rock age. Through experimentalism, Pierre Christin and Enki Bilal
demonstrates the characteristics of the punk. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jeff Noon names a new style of writing he produced, dub fiction. The idea is to pay up or contribute to
fiction and reading writing. The process of dub fiction is also known as literary cut ups. The technique
can be used to produce new, standalone stories or poems. (Noon). Jeff Noon considers the
experimental process of remixing an original piece (dub fiction) as creating new piece itself. After a
thorough explanation of the steps to take when using dub fiction, Jeff Noon gives a link to a website
(The Lazarus Corporation) which remixes original text that the creator types in. The digital algorithm
which remixes original text provokes many to remix with ease. Although literary cut ups contributed
to the world of remixing text, the digital process for literary cut ups may be detrimental to the idea of a
remixed text being original. People may say the miniscule amount of effort put into the work rejects

The Flowers By Alice Walker Essay
Alice Walker shows Myops innocence and subsequent loss thereof through her usage of vivid imagery
as well as the small setting and symbolism in The Flowers . Myop s sudden exposure to the harsh
reality of racism surrounding her shatters her innocence. The tone of the short story changes abruptly
showcasing the main characters shift in how she sees the world. For she is suddenly and violently
thrust into a world in which skin color dictates how others in society will treat her. There is a clear
switch in tone in The Flowers as Myop is exposed to the world outside her home. The initial tone of
the short story is carefree and child like. Though the perspective of the story is third person omniscient
initially, it is still evident that we are viewing the story through a child s lens. The young protagonist
skips lightly from hen house to pigpen to smokehouse showing that she is happy, excited even, to
enjoy the natural setting weaved around her. As Myop explores, it becomes evident that her family s
financial situation is less than ideal. Wandering towards the woods, she leaves behind the rusty boards
of her family s sharecropper cabin (Walker). Now with little else to weave a setting in the reader s
mind one can already picture the scene as well as the time period. Very little is written about the
setting outside of the family home and the surrounding woods. This supports the childlike tone of the
beginning of the story as a young child would not have experienced the

Differences And Similarities Between The Aztec And Mayan...
Maya and Aztec Comparison Essay
In ancient Mesoamerica, there were two great empires; the Aztec and Mayan Empires. The Mayan
Empire developed in southeastern Mexico, surrounding the Yucatan Peninsula and Sierra Madre
mountains. Similar to the Mayan Empire, the Aztec Empire also developed in Mexico. They spoke
their the Nahuatl language, while the Mayans spoke Hieroglyphics (no exact name). Two civilizations
both used terrace farming and human labor for agriculture. Wars between towns, cities, and empires
did cause two empires to fall, but Mayan Empire mostly fell because of rulers forcing farmers to farm
for them, unlike the Aztecs. Both empires had similarities and differences in many aspects. In terms of
geography, Mayans and Aztecs both settled in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What s more, they all had some sort of volcanic belts. The Aztecs had Iztaccihuatl mountains, located
in the southeastern part of Mexico, and the Mayans had Popocatepetl, also located in the southeastern
part of Mexico. Not just these two, but there were many volcanic belts in the ancient Aztec and Mayan
Empires. As I mentioned earlier in this paragraph, they all lived in a swampy land. Of course, there
must have been some detriments, but they used their swampy lands as an advantage in agriculture!
Also, two empires used human labor when they were farming. As we learned, Aztecs transported food
and farmed using humans, same with the Mayans. Plus, they used terrace farming as their technique.
Terrace farming, aka terracing , is a type of farming using steps of a mountain or a hill. Believe it or
not, they also had similarities with the fall of them. Leaders poor, catastrophic decisions eventually led
to the decline. If Moctezuma II did not choose to make Cortes and his men stay, Aztec would be still

Imperialism In Hotel Rwanda
In Hotel Rwanda, the stages of genocide are made apparent through the escape of our protagonist,
Paul, and his family during the 1994 Rwandan genocide. The first stage of genocide is classification.
The movie begins already past the stage of classification, but the two groups of Hutus and Tutsis are
already identified from the rule they once had from Belgium. The Hutus are described as having dark
skinned, having broader noses, and looking less European, whereas the Tutsis are more European
looking, have lighter skin, and slimmer noses. The Tutsis were originally in power when the Belgians
were ruling, but when they pulled out they left the Hutus in power. The Hutus after years of being put
down rose up with anger against the oppression they had from when the Tutsis were in power. ... Show

The Hutus typically wore the bright colored clothes and waved brightly colored flags. Additionally,
the Paul s ID card is stamped Hutu to identify himself, and thus tell the Interahamwe which group

movie. Repeatedly, the Tutsis are referred to as cockroaches on the radio and by the Interahamwe. The
Tutsi people were treated as worthless, when Paul goes to see George he sees Tutsi women caged.
These women were most likely raped and treated without any dignity by the Hutu people. Tutsi
children were forced by Hutus to kill their families; Tutsis were rounded up like cattle and chopped by

The Cultural And Social Behavior Of A Society
The cultural means relating to the ideas, customs, and social behavior of a society. Therefore, when
doing world mission we must be able to relate to the culture in which we are ministering to. We are
not to forget who we are as far as culturally, but we are to have the knowledge of that particular
culture. For example, in Chapter 3 in our textbook, it speaks of Patrick, an English slave who escaped
from Ireland and later returned as a missionary. Being that he understood the people and their
language, their issues, and their ways , served as a channel for the people to easily receive from him.
Being able to relate to a group of people, having the knowledge of that particular group, and being
able to understand the group in which you are ministering to is very essential in doing mission work.
You have to be careful how you approach people and when you do be conscious of how you engage
unbelievers. In conclusion, cultural simply refers to relations. On the other hand, this particular
question is referring to the negative fallouts (listed in the text) as results to decisions missionaries have
made overtime. Should those missionaries be representatives of all missionaries? In my opinion, the
spread of Christianity, as I refer to as the period of missionary work, has had a major, positive
influence on the world in many, many ways. Some missionaries may be looked upon as bringing about
negative change and some are looked upon as bringing about positive change. I believe it

A Country Isn t Born From One Of The Most Beautiful...
A country isn t born from one day to another, and they all have a history. It s certain that they have
come a long way, but because of the sacrifices they ve had to make along the road. Mexico, being one
of the most beautiful countries, has a reputation for its beaches, food, and tourist attractions, but all
that glitters is not gold. Mexico attracts tourist from all over the world and its culture has spread to all
parts of the world, but it s not so pretty side, crime, has also had an impact on the world. Its crime
levels have risen and drug trafficking has also been a huge problem, especially in the United States.
With that being said, Mexico has a beautiful culture and some of the friendliest most humble
individuals. It s probably one of the facets that has remained constant over the years. Mexico s history
has not only affected them, but also the world around them.
Mexico consists of 31 states, with its capital being Mexico City. Its story and past cultures can be seen
throughout the country and its artifacts. Many of the rural areas are still inhabited by indigenous
people. Lots of these indigenous people would be able to tell you the difference between their
ancestors lives and their own life. These changes would include crime, government, and other social
issues. Mexico started off with civilizations. The first known civilization was The Olmecs. They

say rude things to you at all stages in your life but when you are a child you are more impressionable
and it can can affect you and go into your adulthood. Identity is shaped by personal choices and how
you deal with what happens to you on a daily basis. In Bobos and in Masks you will see hw to
different experiences helped shaped how to women turned out in life. One brushes it off and the other
is deeply affected by what has happened to her. In the two stories I chose the main issue in both of

kid says to her but once she talks to her mom she realizes that it is not something that should affect
her. The kid is making fun of her shoes and how they are cheap. Once she goes to the higher end store

Grealy tries not to let what the boys say about her affect her. After two weeks she realizes she can not
handle it anymore and talks to her counselor. He suggests eating in his office for lunch where the boys

An Analysis Of Conor Grennan s The Little Princes
Before and after In Conor Grennan s the little princes a young man by the name of Conor Grennan is
bored with his typical day to day life and decides to spend his life savings on a yearlong trip around
the world. Before he begins his worldwide trip, he volunteers at an orphanage in Nepal named the
little princes mainly out of a sense of guilt rather than an actual desire to help. Expecting it to be a
short and meaningless time he soon finds himself on a long and difficult journey that will change him
in ways that he never expected. Through his time with the children of the orphanage Conor finds
himself changing in ways he did not expect as he experiences the world outside of his own country,
develops a genuine desire to help others before himself, and eventually gaining a new sense of
purpose. This change brought on by his time spent with the children is apparent throughout his
journey as he is tested again and again to see how far he will go and just what kind of man he will be
in the end. In the beginning of his long Journey Conor is a simple man about to turn 30 and sets off on
a yearlong trip to experience the world which he has never known. His first look upon the outside
world is when he comes to Nepal and see s the damage the war has inflicted upon the country and its

their playfulness and love of fun, but also the way they take care of themselves and each other as their
own form of family, as Conor states himself That s Nepal. Children take care of one another. (part3
chapter4). Conor see s even more of the destruction the war has wrought as he searches for the parents
of the children, seeing villages of people no better off than the children of the little princes . Though

have decided to take the path that I perceive to be correct in life ever since I was a little kid, who was
starting to understand about life, until now. I started developing my career goal since I was a teenager
in middle school. As time passes, my goals have changed from wanting to be a police officer, to now
striving to be a judge. My family has been very inspirational to me; they have been there for me in
positive and negative situations. When I achieve my career goals in life, with the support of my loved

I will be a triumphant when becoming what I have intended to be since I was in middle school, a

The participants in the derivatives markets are generally...
The participants in the derivatives markets are generally classified as hedgers and speculators. The
hedgers use derivatives as main purpose to protect against adverse changes while speculators enter a
derivative contract with attempt to profit from anticipated changes in market prices. One of the biggest
questions in regard to the treatment of derivatives tools is whether actually they are used for hedging
or speculation. (Adam and Fernando 2006)
According to Guay (1999) firms can reduce dramatically their risk by the means of derivatives. But in
the same research he finds out that derivatives could be used either do increase or decrease risk. Guay

However, Hentchel and
Konthari (2001) find out that even the firms with large derivatives positions do not show a significant
increase in their return volatility, which is inconsistent with the hypothesis for speculations with
derivatives. Furthermore, they also detect that the same companies do not have a significant decrease
in their risk. These findings lead them to the conclusion that firms derivatives use does not measurably
increase or decrease their return volatility . (Hentchel and Konthari 2001, p.94)
Stulz (1996) find that many firms use successfully derivatives as a tool for hedge for short term
contracts or in cases when they have large taxes or poorly diversified portfolios. By using derivatives
to hedge the risk companies increase their leverage and in this way reduce the tax liabilities. In other
words, the use of derivatives increases the level of leverage. (Stulz 1996) Other theories suggest that
some holders of call option can benefit from the use of derivatives if they produce higher volatility.
(Black and Scholes 1973). But according to the research of Hentschel and Kothari (2001) there is no
enough evidence for such thesis.
Another research investigates the relation between the use of derivatives and the cost of equity and the
results show that the cost of equity of the derivatives users is lower than this of non users, due to lower

Conductive Hearing Loss In The US
Introduction In the United States, about 48 million people or 20 percent of the population is affected
by hearing loss (Hearing Loss Association of America). According to Cole and Flexer (2008), Hearing
loss is the most common birth defect (p. xi). Approximately 16,000 to 18,000 infants and young
children are diagnosed with hearing loss every year. (Cole Flexer, 2008).
Hearing loss can be classified in three ways based on type: conductive, sensorineural, and mixed.
Conductive hearing loss is when sound is not transmitted from the outer ear to the middle ear in an
effective manner. Examples of a conductive hearing loss include: otitis media, perforation of the
tympanic membrane, impacted cerumen, benign growths, foreign objects, or a maldeveloped or absent
outer ear or middle ear structure. Most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It can be described as unilateral meaning only one ear is affected or bilateral meaning both ears are
affected. Hearing loss can also be classified as symmetrical or asymmetrical. Symmetrical means that
both ears are affected equally while asymmetrical means that the ears are unequal in their level of
hearing loss. Hearing loss can also be broken down into sudden and progressive onset. Hearing loss
can occur over a short period or it can worsen over time. Fluctuating hearing loss changes over time,
and stable hearing loss remains constant. Hearing loss is characterized by degree of severity based on
decibel loss (American Speech Hearing Association). Normal hearing has a decibel loss of 10 to 15.
Slight hearing loss has a decibel loss of 16 to 25. Mild hearing loss has a decibel loss of 26 to 40.
Moderate hearing loss has a decibel loss of 41 to 55. Moderately severe hearing loss has a decibel loss
of 56 to 70. Severe hearing loss has a decibel loss of 71 to 90. Profound hearing loss has a decibel loss

Human Control Project Analysis
Today, numerous individuals are persuaded that the end of the dark wolf was a blunder, as well as a
drawback to the personal satisfaction in this nation. There has been an open objection to redress the
circumstance made by the lack of awareness of our progenitors. Then again, in trying to address a
circumstance made by the human impulse to control nature, it is significant to recognize the amount of
human impedance is fundamental. Human control must be tempered by an appreciation and

the normal request instead of predominance over it. The outcomes of human activities including the
disposal of the dim wolf have been particularly intense in Yellowstone National Park, where the
absence of a characteristic predator has brought about the overpopulation of buffalo, deer, and elk. As

and taking that role that sometimes you never knew you might have, you are there for people that need
it in some cases when they might be suicidal, they might know you as their hero. That means in some
way you made them change their mind of the bad thoughts even when you have no idea you did. You
don t have to have a cape or the ability to fly to be a hero. For instance, my hero wears camouflage
and hunts, my hero is my boyfriend, Steven. Try putting yourself in a situation where you are now the
hero and you find that you have saved someone but you were never personally there to fly in and save
them from the giant spaghetti monster. The point is, maybe being a social media hero is as powerful as
one with a cape and super strength. In my mind, I can totally say that, being a youtuber does relate to

Crowd Sourcing Paper
Every organization works for its ultimate goal of attaining profit and to enjoying a good name in the
society. Organizational success depends upon how the organization manages the information and
process for attaining the target. For that the organization should have its own strategies and
technologies for adequate knowledge management. Due to the drastic changes which has happened in
our organizational working climate, career management intervention has to be given due importance
for the performance of the workers. Human resource is considered as the most important asset of an
organization but it is a true fact that no human being is complete. Solving of problems happens
through sharing of experiences and knowledge among the individuals. However, individual career ...

The process of obtaining information by enlisting the services of a large number of people, either paid
or unpaid, typically through the Internet is known as crowd sourcing. The term crowdsourcing was
coined in Jeff Howe and Mark Robinson (2006) ,which describes how businesses were using the
Internet to outsource the work to a large and heterogenous undefined general public usuall in the form
of an open call . The emergence and popularity of the crowdsourcing phenomenon can be largely
attributed to the rise of the Web 2.0 (FĂźller, Bilgram, Koch Rapp, 2013) Crowd sourcing is based on
the concept of collective intelligence: Selzer Mahmoudi (2006 ) told that under the right
circumstances, groups are remarkably intelligent, and are often smarter than the smartest people in
them. Crowd sourcing gives access to ideas, innovations and information(Aitamurto et al., 2011;
EstellĂŠs Arolas GonzĂĄlez LadrĂłn de Guevara, 2012; Sloane, 2011). So crowd sourcing is worthwhile
for the success of any type of organization without any distinction between profit

Performance Enhancing Drugs Should Be Banned in...
In 2013, 12 Major League Baseball players each received fifty game suspensions without pay for
using performance enhancing drugs. Big names such as Ryan Braun and Alex Rodriguez were on this
list. Testosterone, an illegal substance, is what is found in the performance enhancing drugs.
Testosterone increases male characteristics such as body hair, aggression, deepening of the voice, and
of course massive muscle growth ( Steroids par. 1). Some professional athletes claim to use
performance enhancing drugs to recover more quickly from injury; others take them because they
have not seen the positive feedback in working out, without the use of the steroids. Steroids may be
referred to as roids , juice, hype, or pump and they are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Bonds and many more who had a successful life ahead and decided that they wanted more than they
already have. Ryan Braun has lost many fans, in addition to losing the respect from the city of
Milwaukee, and many baseball fans from around the world that they had previously given him. Braun,
however, has reached out to many fans and has made many phone calls apologizing to them for his
actions. Braun knows that apologizing will not make up for his actions, however, he also knows that
he has to do the right thing by telling people that he has made a mistake. To make up from his actions,
he called many of the season ticket holders just to tell them he was sorry and that he made a big
mistake. Braun also lost a good friend in Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers wishes that Braun would not of
looked him in the face and lied to him (Vandermause par. 2). Rodgers was very disappointed not for
just himself, but for all of the Wisconsin sports fanatics out there (2). Braun claimed that they were
only used to make his recovery from an injury faster, but having steroids without a prescription is
illegal. Lance Armstrong destroyed his reputation just like Braun by taking steroids. However,
Armstrong denies his steroid use, but he has stopped fighting the United States Anti Doping Agency

The Importance Of Managing Equality And Diversity
Unit 6:10 Introduction As a Senior Staff of London College of Science and Technology, this report
will address the importance of effectively managing equality and diversity as well as the dynamics of
leading and managing in my Organisation. The task is divided into two: The first task will explain the
meaning of equality and diversity, analysis of its legal requirement, implications, policies and
procedure, needs and expectations of stakeholder in relation to the organisation policy on equality and
diversity. The second task will appraise how to address equality and diversity, evaluate methods of
communicating commitment and analyse technique used to review and monitor equality and diversity.
Task 1 What is Organisational Equality and diversity? Though, it is sometimes used interchangeably,
the terms equality and diversity are not similar. According to Department of Health, Equality is about
providing a better society, where everyone can contribute and has the opportunity to fulfil their
potential (DoH, 2004). In my view, equality means treating everyone with impartiality and respect,
and knowing the needs of individuals. It is about addressing present shortcomings affecting how
people participate in society. Diversity means identifying, valuing and taking into cognisance people s
different backgrounds, understanding, skills, needs and experiences. It is also about motivating and
using those differences to create a

Violence On The Rise Of Contemporary Society
Violence on the Rise Contemporary society has evolved around materialism due to an incessant rise of
scientific and technological innovations. While some may argue man is living in the most peaceful era
in American history, the incline of man s tendency to value material possessions above spiritualism
has effectively caused an erosion of general morality, a revision of social normalization, and an
increase in violent actions. Children are the leading advocates in this societal evolution. Patently, their
breeding is exposed to more distinguished violent content in films and in video games. Equally, a
fixation on their cellular device and its uncensored social media have become the sources of man s
elevating violence. Certainly the upbringing of twenty first century children does not emulate the
upbringing of twentieth century children. Culture s newfound embracement of technology has left
violent material predisposed to the underdeveloped brain of a child. Movies and video games labeled
as PG 13 now are beginning to resemble the content of rated R movies in a previous generation. Much
of the violence is cartoonishly sterilized and bloodless to ensure a rating that attracts the youthful
population (Bozdech). Surely, children are viewing irresponsible projections of conflicts that
undermine the austerity and ramifications of sincere violence. They grow to become desensitized by
violence, understanding it to be an ordinary occurrence and often the solution to a problem.

Impact Of Marijuana On Society
Legalization of Marijuana:
Does it Impact Society?
Destiny Wright
Criminology 200
Abstract
The legalization of drugs has always been a big debate in the United States. For hundreds of years, our
citizens have argued over what they think would be best for our nation. From The War on Drugs to the
legalization of Marijuana in Colorado, the United States has transformed. Many believe that this was
the worst decision Congress could ever make and others think that this changes life for the better.
Although this had always been a great debate, there is nothing much that people could argue over now
that Marijuana is legalized in more than one state.

According to Chu (2015), as of July 2014, 22 states and the District of Columbia had passed laws that
allow individuals with designated conditions to use marijuana for medical purposes. Although the
direct effects of these laws are limited to legally qualified patients, it is a popular belief that
legalization of medical marijuana has increased illegal marijuana use among non patients as well (p.
482). This could be true, but it could also be inaccurate. Many people never told that they had already
used the drug before it became legalized, but after it did, many people were honest with their choices.
Chu also discovered that medical marijuana laws increase t proxies for marijuana consumption by
around 10 15 percent. However, there is no evidence that cocaine and heroin usage increases (p. 481).
As one could see, just because Marijuana was legalized does not mean that it increased the usage of
other drugs. If it did increase anything, it was just recreational use of

How To Write An Essay On German Occupation
German occupation initiates fear in Dutch populace German uniforms everywhere, German trucks and
tanks in the streets, German spoken in the shops. May 10th, 1940 marks the start of the German
occupation in The Netherlands. The occupation has brought many new rules to Holland, some that the
people accepted with open arms, others that people did not seem too happy about. Before the
Occupation began in Holland, everyone held their breath for the potential war. It was not until the
Prime Minister, Pieter Sjoerds Gerbrandy, stated on the radio that there was indeed going to be a war
that everyone feared for their lives. The bombing of Rotterdam happened not 5 hours after war had
been confirmed. The next morning the people of Holland woke to find ... Show more content on

The treatment of the Jewish population has become appalling in the eyes of the Dutch. They are
required to wear a six pointed star with the word Jood (Jew) in the center so they could be easily
distinguished, and it seemed to also mark them so the Gestapo and German occupied Europe, could
take away groups of them at a time. I did not understand why it had happened at that time or place. I
prayed for them as they did not deserve such a fate. My father, who was with me at the time explained
that he pitied the poor Germans, as they had touched the apple of God s eye, stated Corrie ten Boom, a
women who watched as a group of Jewish men, women and children were taken by police and
soldiers. She is explaining that her father thought highly of the Jews and their place in the world, and
was saddened that the Germans thought lesser of them than of other people. We have no idea how
long the occupation will last, but the German soldiers and police that have taken to settling in here, do
not seem to be leaving anytime soon. This occupation seems to have only started, as does the war. We
are continuing to stay strong as a nation though this circumstances might make it difficult. As new
updates come through, we will attempt to keep the people of The Netherlands

There are ways that aid a business in reaching the levels of success. With the competitive analysis you have five areas that have to be analyzed in order to be competitive. Being able to be competitive within the industry is a key element. Since it is overloaded with larger firms it will be vital to lock in on services that the larger firms find not to be important to success. I feel that one of my secrets will be utilizing my creativity within the marketing, finding lenders, offering that extra care in customer service, and our company s integrity. By staying true to values, will appeal to the general public in positive ways. That is when my company will become a household name. • 3. Causes Of College Tuition There have been arguments when people discuss the price of attending college. The main argument is whether college tuition is too expensive or not. Over the last few decades the college tuition rates have increased drastically, but is a rate increase necessarily a good or bad thing. The cost to attend is too expensive especially for low and middle income families. There are many reasons why tuition could be considered too expensive; they include, rise in tuition, little financial aid, and lack of college savings, to name a few. The first reason why college tuition is considered too expensive is the continuing rise of tuition itself. In one article, between the years 1973 to 2008 tuition for a four year increased from $9,876 to $25,145 for a private college, and $2,175 to $6,585 for public. While a two year college tuition increased from $1,360 to $2,402. Within a thirty five year period tuition increased $15,267 for a private college, $4,410 for public, and $1,042 for a two year college. This might not seem too bad for it occurring in a thirty five year period, but really think about it college tuition increases a little each day and it adds up pretty quickly ( Chronology: Recent Key Events in History of College Tuition Cost 1). Sarah Turner mentions in her section of the anthology College Choices: The Economies of Where to Go, When to Go, and How to Pay , that due to high levels of tuition students are least likely to enroll in higher education. Turner also states that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The River From Eden, By Charles Darwin One of the most well known atheists evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins who order to explain the existence of the universe and emergence of life on Earth. Today, many scientist firmly believe that the universe was created approximately when infinitely small and dense point known as singularity started expanding 14 billion years ago. Fine tuned expansion unleashed the beginning of the time and space itself. Our Earth formed some 4 or 5 billion years ago, and the first living single organisms appeared in water roughly 0.5 1.5 billions years after its existence.(35, Theism, Atheism, and Big Bang Cosmology). Over the millions of years they began to evolve from the single celled organism into ultimately the most advanced form of life, human through the process of natural selection. The term was popularized by Charles Darwin in 1859 to explain how animals change to adapt to the environment for survival. Richard Dawkins states in his book The River From Eden , Genetic code is in fact literally identical in all animals, plants, and bacteria that have ever been looked at. All earthly living things are descended from a single ancestor. From a molecular point of, all animals are pretty close relatives of one another and even of plants (12). Although scientists cannot scientifically explain how or why the Big Bang started, they successfully explain what happens after the Big Bang and how we all came to be. The second approach that explains the beginning of the universe ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She writes that people pay a ton of money each year, but not one in ten thousand has any idea of what actually takes place, and it is extremely hard to find books and any information about this subject. She assumes that it must be a reason for such secrecy, and may be if people knew more about this procedure, they would not want this service after their death. • 8. Mortgage Underwriting Essay When a lender is offering a mortgage loan to a borrower, he or she has to determine what are the risks involved. In order to determine these risks, the lender uses a process known as mortgage underwriting, in which some parameters are assessed. The underwriters consider risks that fall under the category of credit, capacity and collateral. The decision of the underwriter is the final one to either approve a loan or decline it. This process is so cumbersome that lenders at times contract mortgage underwriting. There are several benefits of using contract mortgage underwriting services. Since this is a complex process, small businesses that are trying to gain foothold in the market do not have enough money to employ enough mortgage underwriters. Mortgage processing is a competitive industry and it is possible that small businesses face stiff rivalry from their competitors. Myop s sudden exposure to the harsh reality of racism surrounding her shatters her innocence. The tone of the short story changes abruptly showcasing the main characters shift in how she sees the world. For she is suddenly and violently thrust into a world in which skin color dictates how others in society will treat her. There is a clear switch in tone in The Flowers as Myop is exposed to the world outside her home. The initial tone of the short story is carefree and child like. Though the perspective of the story is third person omniscient initially, it is still evident that we are viewing the story through a child s lens. The young protagonist skips lightly from hen house to pigpen to smokehouse showing that she is happy, excited even, to enjoy the natural setting weaved around her. As Myop explores, it becomes evident that her family s financial situation is less than ideal. • 28. Imperialism In Hotel Rwanda In Hotel Rwanda, the stages of genocide are made apparent through the escape of our protagonist, Paul, and his family during the 1994 Rwandan genocide. The first stage of genocide is classification. The movie begins already past the stage of classification, but the two groups of Hutus and Tutsis are already identified from the rule they once had from Belgium. The Hutus are described as having dark skinned, having broader noses, and looking less European, whereas the Tutsis are more European looking, have lighter skin, and slimmer noses. The Tutsis were originally in power when the Belgians were ruling, but when they pulled out they left the Hutus in power. The dehumanization of the Tutsi people is perhaps the most poignant in the movie. Repeatedly, the Tutsis are referred to as cockroaches on the radio and by the Interahamwe. The Tutsi people were treated as worthless, when Paul goes to see George he sees Tutsi women caged. These women were most likely raped and treated without any dignity by the Hutu people. • 30. The Cultural And Social Behavior Of A Society The cultural means relating to the ideas, customs, and social behavior of a society. Therefore, when doing world mission we must be able to relate to the culture in which we are ministering to. We are not to forget who we are as far as culturally, but we are to have the knowledge of that particular culture. For example, in Chapter 3 in our textbook, it speaks of Patrick, an English slave who escaped from Ireland and later returned as a missionary. Being that he understood the people and their language, their issues, and their ways , served as a channel for the people to easily receive from him. Being able to relate to a group of people, having the knowledge of that particular group, and being able to understand the group in which you are ministering to is very essential in doing mission work. You have to be careful how you approach people and when you do be conscious of how you engage unbelievers. In conclusion, cultural simply refers to relations. On the other hand, this particular question is referring to the negative fallouts (listed in the text) as results to decisions missionaries have made overtime. Should those missionaries be representatives of all missionaries? In my opinion, the spread of Christianity, as I refer to as the period of missionary work, has had a major, positive influence on the world in many, many ways. Some missionaries may be looked upon as bringing about negative change and some are looked upon as bringing about positive change. I believe it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These findings lead them to the conclusion that firms derivatives use does not measurably increase or decrease their return volatility . • 45. Violence On The Rise Of Contemporary Society Violence on the Rise Contemporary society has evolved around materialism due to an incessant rise of scientific and technological innovations. While some may argue man is living in the most peaceful era in American history, the incline of man s tendency to value material possessions above spiritualism has effectively caused an erosion of general morality, a revision of social normalization, and an increase in violent actions. Children are the leading advocates in this societal evolution. Patently, their breeding is exposed to more distinguished violent content in films and in video games. Equally, a fixation on their cellular device and its uncensored social media have become the sources of man s elevating violence. Certainly the upbringing of twenty first century children does not emulate the upbringing of twentieth century children. Culture s newfound embracement of technology has left violent material predisposed to the underdeveloped brain of a child. Movies and video games labeled as PG 13 now are beginning to resemble the content of rated R movies in a previous generation. Much of the violence is cartoonishly sterilized and bloodless to ensure a rating that attracts the youthful population (Bozdech). Surely, children are viewing irresponsible projections of conflicts that undermine the austerity and ramifications of sincere violence.
