The Importance Of Financial Economics
From the sources of income, it can be seen that expenses eat up 70% of total earning with savings
trailing at 30%. Since expenses are tracked by budget, mechanical and unplanned purchases are
eliminated. This means other than on the predetermined expenditure; no money is left for unplanned
events. A particular concern is however focused on the composition of items that form the expenses.
High level prioritizing is Key in achieving spending rationality that will result in financial success. As
such, it is paramount to channel most of the expenditure on items that are deemed primary in life.
Although the view of what falls into the primary and secondary category is subjective and depends on
one s level of life, from the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the recommended percentage worksheet, most expenses on items fell in range meaning a high level
of cost control was achieved. Building a strong financial clout can be achieved through remarkably
splendid savings. The guide sheets in its recommendations in regards to savings put the suitable
percentage at a maximum of 10%. My savings plan surprisingly beats this figure by a whopping 15%.
With this, my build up finances will be high, thanks to the upward trajectory in savings.
Transportation is an expense on my part. In the financial world, the goal is to make as maximum
benefits as one can while keeping low the costs encompassed in the process. The recommended
percentage rate for transportation expense is capped at 10% as the minimum. Having kept this expense
low, it came at 2.8% lower. At a keener look, one can be able to tell that this cost cut may have been in
part responsible for the increased savings above! Excellent, is it not? Recreation is good and helps one
unwind from heavy schedules of life. And it comes at cost. From the sheet, as much as this expense
came within range of the recommended percentage, it sailed closer to the ceiling of 10%, coming short
by only 2%. From here, it can be seen an avenue or source for of funds for other items like health and
food by revising it downwards to a

How The Gospel Changed My Life
It s truly been an interesting week, and typically it is for me. Never a dull moment when you re on the
move sixteen hours a day and always doing something. I ve had many opportunities to share bits of
what I believe to be true and know to be right, as well as information about the gospel with my
customers as I go door to door selling Dish TV (Network). It s amazing how in the simplest
conversation so many things can come up and so many truths can be shared. For example, as a
missionary, you have a goal in mind to share the gospel and to teach with the power and authority
given to you by God and his Prophets which he has called. Yet, as a return mission who attends
Brigham Young University Idaho, I have found it very hard to share my testimony ... Show more

At first, it was daunting and very demanding I felt I had to be the best I can be. Yet, I have talked with
each of them about the gospel and they are open and hear me out. I think they see the difference and
respect it and may have a desire to learn more. Three of the guys, Alexis, Calvin, and James are the
ones who have really paid the most attention. They don t swear around me, they don t offer me things
that would go contrary to what I believe. I had an experience last night after a long day s work, that
was amazing. They asked me why I would give two years of my life to serve a mission and get
rejected and set myself to just a tedious schedule. My only answer to them was this, Because it s true,
the gospel is true . Which lead on to me sharing a little of my conversion story when I was twenty
years old. I love, love, love sharing the gospel and last night I realized how blessed I am to be able to
do it word and deed. Every single day for the rest of the summer. Not only with these three guys but
with everyone I meet. It also had built the relationship between us guys in the office stronger, we are
more of a team and a brotherhood. We uplift and encourage each

A major reason for this is directly correlated to their innovative ways to lower cost and increase profit
margins. Loblaw s must continue striving for excellence and remodel their supply chain, in order to
maintain and exceed their company profit margins. Without proactively adapting to new technologies
Loblaw s will fall behind the market standard and lose their position in the market, potentially losing

in the grocery retail industry in Canada, in order for Loblaw s to penetrate a global market they must

which in turn increase profit and gross margins, in order to continue expanding. Such starting
locations for expansion that seem feasible are developing cities in the United States that are relatively

High School Diploma
In the first step you can start by picking up all the dirty clothes and taking it to the laundry room, then
fold or put away the clean clothes neatly so later on it isn t hard to find something to wear. Second
step is have a trash bag and pick up all the big trash on the floor. Third step sweep all the dust and
small trash into the trash bag. Fourth step pick up all the stuff on your bed, vanity , ect. Fifth step mop
the floor and put good smelling stuff in your room then your done.
The importance of a High School diploma is letting us know that we are one step closer to prosper in
life. Many people drop out of High School as the let some dreams go , and leave there future to just

Fight Cclub Themes
Fight Club Themes The main themes of the story are loneliness, materialism, and freedom from
society. Tyler was created because of the lack of connection the narrator had with the people around
him. The narrator was lonely and attended so many support groups because of it. He was not rejected
at the support groups because the members thought he was sick just like they were. Materialism is a
reoccurring theme as the narrator mentions how he has worked his entire life for the Ikea items in his
apartment. He tried to fill the void in his life by buying worthless, meaningless stuff. People spend too
much time working for things they do not need. The narrator comes to the conclusion that, You are not
your job or your possessions. Only once a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The mise en scene needs to find a way to differentiate between Tyler and the narrator. Different
cinematography elements such color and lighting can help do this. A color filter can be used to alter
the way we see the different characters and scenes. I think the product placement of many popular,
well known brands would also help add to the themes of the novel. The outfits that the characters wear
are also important and described in detail in the novel. The setting in which the fights take place at
should be dark, damp, and cold as depicted in the novel. The use of saturated color from light off
screen and low key lighting may help achieve this. The fights usually take place in a basement so it is
appropriate that the lighting be dim. The filmmakers may also want to incorporate point of view shots
to give the audience a better understanding of what the narrator is going through. In the novel, the
chapters jump around from different settings and almost never continue from where they left off. The
editing must find a way to move quickly from scene to scene without confusing the audience. The use
of jump cuts may help the audience become accustom to the transitions that occur throughout the
story. The filmmakers may want to superimpose or distort some of the scenes with Tyler so that the
audience can see that he is not a real person and that he is in fact imaginary. The use of fast and slow

The Hunger GamesLike A Festivity In The Hunger Games
It is shocking to see how the Capitol expects the Districts to treat the Hunger Games like a festivity, so
that they can enjoy the suffering of the tributes as pure entertainment, while being tortuous for the
Districts that have to comply. This is illustrated quite well when Katniss says that To make it
humiliating as well as tortuous, the Capitol requires us to treat the Hunger Games as a festivity, a
sporting event pitting every Districts against the others ... For the residences in the Capitol The
Hunger Games itself is an annual event that provides them with a highly anticipated source of
entertainment to pass time and the cause to celebrate. Citizens gamble on the tributes and sponsor their
favourites in the arena. The Districts understand that they are more likely to survive if they are
seemingly compliant with the laws and the retractions that the Capitol puts on them. District 12 along
with other districts comply with the Laws that the Capitol reinforces. Not only are the Districts
required to comply but they have to look like and pretend that they re agreeable to the punishment of
having to sacrifice 2 of their young people from each District, every year and then act as if it is a
major celebration rather than a tortuous punishment they have to endure year after year. People are
addicted to watching the suffering of others, especially those in the Capitol. They love that all of the
violence, the bloodshed and the struggle to stay alive is real. They like the

The Native American Reservations Of The Native Americans
The Native American Reservations Imagine being told that if you migrate to a certain location you ll
be helped with nutrition and your finance will be covered. Sounds good right? Well this is what the
American government promised the Native Americans. A promise that wasn t granted. Many
reservations have actually created a sense of confinement and detachment. The reservations have
limited resources which separates them from the American Culture and society. This is shown through
the laws we ve passed to aid them, and the battle for other native Americans to stand up for their
rights. Also their constant struggle for justice. Native Americans have been widely ignored. Their past
and current struggles they face. Most Americans know all about know the happy Native Americans
that have been celebrated on thanksgiving, but don t seem to know the ones who fought for their rights
. Many Native Americans didn t have a voice, and some still don t. During World War I,
approximately 9,000 Native Americans fought and died while protecting their own country in return
they didn t have their rights granted to them. These rights included their Citizenship. Sounds kind of
crazy how you live on your own land but need a citizenship. Although, some Native Americans were
given a chance to become a citizen, it involved them not practicing their tribal traditions and adapting
to American culture. United States citizenship was just another way of absorbing us and destroying

The Impact Of Cristiano Ronaldo On The World
Cristiano Ronaldo is undoubtedly one of the greatest soccer players to ever step foot on a pitch.
Throughout his career, he has managed to set records and win virtually every individual and team
award possible with the exception of the World Cup. Ronaldo has won the FIFA Player of the Year
Award (Ballon D or) 3 times and is very likely to be on his way to a 4th come this January. What
separates Cristiano from the rest of the world is his drive. He has always believed that he is the best
and is never satisfied with what he has already accomplished. The main reason however, that I chose
to write about Cristiano Ronaldo is because we have something in common. He was diagnosed with a

Ronaldo s mother, Dolores was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007 and also suffers from extreme
anxiety. After Cristiano s spell in Manchester, he made a record setting transfer to Real Madrid in
2009. He was ready for a change and stated that he wants to play a different style of football and face
a new challenge. Striving to be the greatest, Cristiano set out to Spain looking to break new records
and pick up his second Ballon D or after winning it the first time that previous year. This chapter in his
life brought him head to head with his rival Lionel Messi, who is also a contender for the Player of the
Year Award. In fact, Messi went on to win the award 4 consecutive years after Ronaldo picked it up
for the first time. This fueled Ronaldo do impeccable things on the football pitch. He set club and
league records in 2014, just 5 years after arriving in Madrid. He became the all time leading goal
scorer for his club and the player with the most hat tricks in the history of the league. This helped him
to win the Ballon D or for the 2nd time in 2013 and to him it was the most meaningful award yet.

Corporate Espionage
The growing corporate espionage activities due to intense competition lead to highly controlling
security measures and intensive employee monitoring which bring about distrust in the workplace
Part I .What I already know The reason I chose this topic is due to the fact that a class called human
resources management which by the way is my major, once we discussed the topic of ethics the
professor covered corporate espionage and determined it as a federal crime. Professor Valdivieso felt
very passionately about this topic because his thesis was based on this area. He is a professional who I
admire very much, and I was looking forward to developing a research paper on this topic. Day by day

She also compares case studies which basically portray the fact that empowering your employees and
having a clear framework of values in the company, makes them feel important and needed and can
contribute as a countermeasure to control corporate espionage.
Some action that can be taken according to the book depends on the threat you re facing and believe it
or not the difference between regular spies and corporate spies is very small so the same so the means
to control it are alike.
There are four countermeasures that are commonly used by industrial spies: technical, operational,
physical and personnel security, these will later on be discussed in depth due to the harm that can be
caused to a company by a lack of security not only financially speaking but also the workplace
environment distrust that can only be corrected by reorganizing employees. This will represent time
and money wasted.
Clearly Dr. Marjorie Chang believe corporate espionage is everywhere today and should be
considered as a potential threat especially in big corporation when the competition rises daily and
technological access is just a click away. The question is how do we draw the line between excessive
monitoring and preventative actions to diminish distrust? In my next source one of my concerns form
part II is met, showing the most vulnerable parts in a company

Diffusion Of Altruism Essay
This paper looks at the theories relevant to the diffusion of prosocial behavior as it spreads through
social media. Altruism is delineated from other types of prosocial behavior because it is directly
related to empathy. The two theories of motivation for prosocial behavior are the Empathy Altruism
Hypothesis and Social Exchange Theory. These two motivational states outline the paradox of
altruism, which infers that selfless behavior can provide benefits to those engaging in it. When looking
at the chasm in the Diffusion of Innovation, presented by Everett Rogers, these theories can be applied
in order to accelerate the diffusion across the chasm. Messages that elicit empathic responses should
target the innovators and early adopters. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first opinion lies in the Empathy Altruism Hypothesis. This hypothesis, created by Daniel Batson,
studies altruistic behaviors and links their production to empathic concern for others (Batson, 2011).
Batson (2011) would argue that prosocial behavior can be elicited from empathic concern, whereas
others have argued there are only self serving processes at work. The alternate opinion comes from
Social Exchange Theory, which applies economic principles to social relationships (Miller, 2013). As
Shari Miller describes in her article from the Salem Press Encyclopedia, social exchanges happen
because people make choices that create maximum benefits and minimize personal disadvantages
(Miller, 2013). When this theory is applied to prosocial behavior as its primary motivation, the actions
can quickly be reduced to social behavior instead. The reductionist approach of Social Exchange spins
the motivations for any social behavior as purely self serving. While this may be true of some surface
level prosocial behavior, there is still the observation that it can be selflessly motivated. Empathy
generated altruism falls directly opposite of reward seeking prosocial behaviors. These two concepts
create a polarization in motivational states. The altruism paradox, is defined in the Salem Press
Encyclopedia of Health as the difference between prosocial behavior that is self serving and prosocial
behavior that is

The group I will use for this paper is a Friends in Grief support group I co facilitated. This group met
for five weeks with the members experiencing the similarity of the death of a loved one. The purpose
of the group was a safe place where people can come to heal by mourning, supporting, encouraging,
and expressing grief with others. This agency limits groups of this type to twelve members to ensure
that each member is comfortable in the small chapel in which the group is held however, this group
was composed of two men and six females. All group members were Caucasian and had lost a spouse
of forty plus years. Every member of the group lived in an upscale fifty five plus community and all
had retired (or retired spouse) from a distinguished profession with pensions. Two of the female
members had identifying disabilities. The youngest female was born with a neurological disorder and
the other was hard of hearing. There was one female group member who was born and raised in
Germany.
There were two prominent roles present in this group. Two of the female members never spoke unless

Bad love is better than no love? Can t buy it. Don t want to buy it. Eve spoke in a clipped fashion as
she walked hurriedly along the downtown street with her longtime friend, Shirley. Both women were
of strong bearing and fierce countenance.
Eve was a single, auburn haired, thirty eight year old professor of esoteric studies at the University of

She couldn t stop herself. Goddammit, Shirley. There s more to love than illusion. I ll clear through the
junk and find the real thing. If this thing is junk, I m not going to ride it for the thrill. I need to trash
what s trash. Fantasies are just that, fantasies. I want what s real. Doesn t have to be perfect just real.

Major Component Of Sustainability And Its Effects On The...
Biodiversity is major component of sustainability, and it is defined as the variety of genes, organisms,
species, and ecosystems in a given area or on the planet as a whole (Miller and Spoolman 2015, 5).
Urban spaces typically lack biodiversity due to a variety of factors that cause the destruction of
ecosystems, such as replacing established ecosystems with large lawns, parking lots, buildings, and
highways. When these well established, high functioning ecosystems are disturbed, we eliminate the
variety of genes, organisms, and species that lived in that ecosystem. In doing so, we have caused
stress for the organisms that live there. For example, if we fragment an ecosystem via highway or road
expansion, at a minimum we are permanently altering the breeding and feeding relationships that
existed in that ecosystem. In terms of breeding, highway construction separates organisms of the same
species and keeps them from mating. This results in fewer genes being exchanged between organisms.
Those genes could potentially be what saves a species from extinction in the event of a disaster, such
as a forest fire or flood. In addition, highways also disrupt energy flow patterns which provide
ecosystem services like a natural form of population control. In accordance with that, the extinction of
even a single species can cause a rapid decline in a variety of organisms in that same ecosystem. This
is due to the fact that many organisms within an ecosystem have co evolved, meaning

Transcontinental Railroad In Westward Expansion
In the early 1800s, Americans and immigrants moved to the west for various reasons. These reasons
includes rumors of gold and silver, the transcontinental railroad, and the Homestead Act. A tremendous
reason is push pull factors. Soon after moving to the west, settlers soon figure out moving was a not so
good decision. In the west, there were prairie fires and unfarmable land. Disputes rang out between
Plain Indians and settlers that were violent. Federal agents to make agreements/treaties that were
considered misunderstanding and fraud. Native Americans forced onto reservations. The natural world
of the American of the West was destroyed by new coming settlers. There were many hardships and
motivations for moving West. For example, hardships for settlers in the West; and the natural world of
the American West. After settling in the west, settlers soon learned there would be many obstacles.

The transcontinental railroad was a major section of desire in the Westward expansion. According to
Document 1, it states the railroad demonstrated its practicality. This railroad would be a key to success
that would make America more wealthy than any other job or industry. Without the transcontinental
railroad, transporting goods and settlers would be difficult and time consuming. Thus the
transcontinental railroad was a tremendous impact on motivation for Westward expansion. Another
motivation for Westward expansion is mining for gold and silver. After rumors of gold spread, settlers
came to the West and started placer mining. According to Document 3, two men found a considerable
amount of gold after to in Rich Bar. As a result of this magnificent discovery, hundreds of miners
settle there to find gold. An explanation is a major motivation for Westward expansion is the discovery

Class Dismissed How TV Frames The Working Class
Karl Marx was born in Trier, Germany in 1818. He was a Economist, Philosopher and a Sociologist.
Marx attained his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Berlin in 1841. Among the various
theories and concepts developed by Marx, his theory on the capitalist economic system along with the
concept of the base and superstructure is what he widely recognized by. Although Marx was born in a
fairly wealthy middle class family, Marx has always questioned the capitalist system that is being
utilized. More recently with the emergence of media, the capitalist system has been able increase the
gap between the poor and the wealthy. The documentary, Class Dismissed: How TV Frames the
Working Class addresses the inequality of the capitalist system with the aid of Marx s theory of
capitalist, in addition to educating the audience of the dishonest techniques utilized by the media to
conceal this inequality (2005,Alper). The film, Class Dismissed: How TV Frames the Working Class,
by Loretta Alper illustrates how the media uses stereotypes in a humorous manner to gain viewers.
The film is based on the 90 s sitcoms. As described by the film, many of the most memorable
characters of these sitcoms are of the working class (2005). Furthermore it states that since we view
television as a source of entertainment not education, we are easily being subconsciously manipulated.

Liquidity And Liquidity Risk Management Essay
Liquidity and Liquidity Risk Assets come in many forms, differentiating in their liquidity. Liquidity,
by definition, is how easy an asset can be traded (Hertrich, 2015). Different assets have different
abilities to be traded, cash being the easiest; hence cash is the most liquid asset. This causes price
differentiation, where more liquid assets have higher price tags and lower trading costs (Hertrich,
2015). This makes more liquid assets more attractive for investors. When assets have low liquidity
there are risks involved for investors because there is a chance that the asset cannot be turned into cash
when needed. Liquidity risk calculates the difficulty of selling an asset in return for cash (Currie,
2011). Liquidity risk is associated with low liquidity; hence there is a negative relationship between
liquidity and liquidity risk (Hertrich, 2015). This implies that the higher the liquidity risk of the asset,
the less the possibility the asset can be traded.
Typically, financial markets in developed countries are liquid; however, in the US during the Global
Financial Crisis [GFC], many homeowners were unable to sell their houses due to declining prices and
falling demand, so the housing market became illiquid (Currie, 2011). The GFC demonstrated how
volatile liquidity can be and that liquidity disruption could be system wide, seen by its global effect
(Bessis, 2015). During the GFC, there was also a systemic bank crisis. At a bank s perspective,
liquidity is the

Technology And Its Impact On The Classroom Essay
Progression, the ever enduring race of humankind to becoming better and more advanced beings, has
become interwoven with technology, as nearly all aspects of one s life, whether it being at home, for
leisure, at work, or in the educational sector is entwined with elements of digitality. This notion leads
one to see that the participation with technologies can be an essential aspect of one s progression in
this new contemporary society. The emergence and subsequent dominance of Information
Communication Technology (ICT) in this digitally mediated world has led to the need for digital
education in schools, which in turn can bring both potentials and challenges in divergent school
settings, as digital literacies bring differing values and meanings in relation to the setting they are
situated in. Transitioning from old to new literacies; digital literacy as a socially imbued construct;
digital divide; ICT out of school; educators and ICT; and implementing ICT in the classroom will be
discussed in order to extricate both the potentials and challenges with the immersion of digital
literacies in education.
Transitioning from Old to New Literacies
Over the years, as with most things, literacy too, has changed, transformed and progressed into a more
complex and nuanced construct. In the past, old literacies chiefly utilised alphabetic literacy, as its
main tool, such as the printing press, having ... privileged the written language over all other forms of

Don Frohman s Non-Programmed Decision
Before I can agree or disagree with Don Frohman s decision to remain open before and after the
attacks occurred, there are a many factors to analyze. Prior to the first attack, nothing like this has ever
happened previously to Don Frohman, I would assume, so this decision he would make would be a
non programmed decision. He would not be able to look back to what other managers had done in a
similar situation like he could with a programmed decision. It is also important to recognize the time
frame given to Don to make his decision. Don needed to make a decision immediately because there
was no sign of when the missile attacks would occur. The only information he could gather was that
Iraqi Scud missiles, which may or may not be laden with chemical

My Passion In Music
My passion is music, and there isn t anything that beats it. I ve always done it as a kid. I started off
with guitar lessons at the age of 5 and just fell in love with the idea of putting your emotion through
chords and melodies. Although I may not have been a pro, I still enjoyed it no matter what. Later on in
my musical career, I realized a lot of music you create is all about owning what you do. And trials
after trials made me the musician I am today.
Our band named Saluda formerly named Rescue Party grew up in high school together playing gigs
every other night at the town s bars. It wasn t that hard to get these gigs because we were really the
only band in our town, Spartanburg. Our very first gig was at this small bar with about 5 or 6 people in
the audience. Half of them weren t even listening but it was the first time we could say we made
money because of music, and that really got us motivated. We barely knew what we were doing most
of the time because we were just kids and had no knowledge about the live music scene. We finally
graduated and half of the band was in high school and the other half college. It made us practice a lot
less, but we grew a lot in our instruments. As I went through my first year in college I became way
more into the music. I was practicing 5 hours everyday on covers and originals. This was making me
grow so much as a musician.
Then we got our first big gig opening for the act Daya. We stressed a lot about this gig and practiced

Critical Appreciation Of Sonnet 47
The determined female monarch, Queen Elizabeth I, was known for creating a cultural of love in
England during her reign. Her love for her people and devotion to their protection was symbolized by
her commitment to remain chaste throughout her life. In return, she was said to be well liked by her
people. This relationship of love between Queen Elizabeth I and her courtiers provides for a unique
power balance in Elizabethan courts and intertwines with the popular practice of writing love sonnets
in 15th century England. Poets wrote deeply romantic and emotion filled sonnets that had underlying
political messages, like those of Phillip Sidney. Phillip Sidney s love sonnets, as evident in sonnet 47
from Astrophil and Stella, symbolize and comment on the balance of power in court politics and the
uneasiness of Elizabethan society about the rule of a female. Sonnet 47 illustrates the torment and
inner struggle that a man experience when the woman he loves, Stella, does not return his love. This
plot of betrayal of love is common in sonnet writing. The speaker is frustrated and contemplates what
to do about his love. It is written in choppy verses that symbolize the sheer anguish and struggle that
the speaker is experiencing. There is also a major shift in tone in the middle of the sonnet. The first
half of the sonnet is written in a series of questions as the speaker reflects on how he got into the
situation that he is in. The questions possess strong imagery of slavery with

Analyzing The Thoughts Of Ancient Philosophers
Analyzing the Thoughts of Ancient Philosophers
3 Major Ideas from The Republic Books 1 5 The Republic is exemplary in showing the knowledge of
the philosophers of Socrates and Plato s day. Socrates argument of what justice is shows many
dynamics and layers within his mind. Socrates will never start a conversation with someone else
without being able to get a new thought completely fabricated from their own mind. He is a very
intelligent philosopher; proven by the fact that he can jump start a conversation and watch it go for
ages between many men while never giving his two cents. When the topic of what justice is comes up
between Socrates and the other men, he never once tells the men what he thinks during the first few
books of The Republic, he just has points to refute all of their suggestions. As stated in A Companion
to Socrates, Socrates impact on the world with his philosophical teaching was tremendous, and he
owes it all to the teaching habits and skills that he obtained throughout the years. (Ahbel) His
willingness to provide a topic and then watch it unfold between many other arguers was a quality that
allowed many students to learn from themselves, just through the help of Socrates. He wasn t the sort
of teacher that would talk at his students, he liked to have them scour their own brains and come up
with their own knowledge and ideas. In The Republic, Socrates demonstrates these skills specifically
toward a few major ideas. When Thrasymachus tells his idea

Innovations in Handwriting Recognition Essay
Emergence networks mimics biological nervous system unleash generations of inventions and
discoveries in the artificial intelligent field. These networks have been introduced by McCulloch and
Pitts and called neural networks. Neural network s function is based on principle of extracting the
uniqueness of patterns through trained machines to understand the extracted knowledge. Indeed, they
gain their experiences from collected samples for known classes (patterns). Quick development of
neural networks promotes concept of the pattern recognition by proposing intelligent systems such as
handwriting recognition, speech recognition and face recognition. In particular, Problem of

The first study discusses the basic operations of erosion and dilation and present a system to recognize
six handwritten digits. For this purpose, a novel method to recognize cursive and degraded text has
been found by Badr Haralick (1994 ) through using technology of OCR. Parts of symbols (primitives)
are detected to interpret the symbols with this method (KUMAR et al. 2010). The study involves
mathematical morphology operations to perform the recognition process. Cun et al. (1998) challenge
this problem by designing a neural based classifier to discriminate handwritten numeral. This study
achieved a reliable system with very high accuracy (over 99%) on the MINIST database. Moreover,
the gradient and curvature of the grey character image have been taken into consideration by Shi et al.
(2002 ) to enhance the accuracy of handwriting digits recognition. Uniquely, Teow Loe (2002 )
identify new idea to solve this problem based on biological vision model with excellent results and
very low error rate (0.59%). The discoveries and development have been continuing through
innovating new algorithms and learning rules. Besides efficiency of using these rules individually in
the machine learning, some researchers have going further in developing the accuracy and
performance of the learning by mixing several rules to support one

Mars 1 Research Paper
1.0 Introduction
Looking back on the 50 years of space exploration history, Mars is consistently being discussed as one
of the most important target of study in this area. From the first mission, Mars 1M No.1 failed to reach
Earth orbit in 1960, till today s MAVEN team has been working on Mars for over one Earth year
(Space.com Website), Mars exploration experienced dozens of failures, especially in earlier days.
However, recently, missions are returning more and more surprising data as technology improved, and
the steps of Mars exploration will never stop. In some ways, as a member of Solar System, Mars is the
one that is most like the Earth. For this reason, publics and scientists are fascinated by the myth of life
beyond Earth, and also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the image taken from space, it is clearly to see that Mars has the ancient fluvial like surface
features. Thus, many scientists predict that they were formed by the action of water. Currently, Liquid
water does not flow on the surface of Mars. However, permanent ice caps were found at both of Mars
poles, and they are mostly made up of solid carbon dioxide. Additionally, significant amounts of
hydrogen was found in the upper soils of Mars (Smith et al., 2011). If Mars is wet many years ago, it
may be went through a long term climatic changes. From previous missions, a plenty of olivine was
found around the landing sites of the Sight Rover. The finding of the olivine give an indication that
Mars may be experienced some physical weathering processes, because the resistant minerals such as
olivine has a significant interaction with the Martian atmosphere (Schröder et al.,

Using Analytics More And More
The company I am with is beginning to use analytics more and more. We are on step 1 of the five step
process, so we still have a lot to learn and set goals on. We have just started using them so that we can
compete with the top dogs of the bank data processors. I believe that if we didn t use analytics one of
the big competitors would come in and try to buy out the company. We are looking into ways to help
use analytics so that we can strengthen our position in the service and show that we can handle any
size community bank. We have created a Business Intelligence department to look into ways that we
can improve products, forecast what a bank may buy when signing a contract, and to see how to pitch
our regulatory compliance products to other companies to help them with their compliance. We are
competing pretty well with the top 3 processors. We have been told that when they hear we are
negotiating to sign the same customer as them, they get worried. They know we have a rock solid
pitch and use analytics to back up our numbers along with testimonials from other customers how our
products have help them compete with the non community banks, retain customers, and bring in the
younger generation with the use of technology. Without analytics, I feel that we would not be able to
offer the banks what they need and sell our other products to help them maintain the needed guidelines
that keep changing.

Examples Of Insecurities In The World s Wife
In The World s Wife, Duffy challenges recognized historical, fictional and mythological characters
from the perspective of the women, reflections on relations between men and women, the
responsibilities and experiences of partners and lovers, for whom love and relationship are more
complicated than feelings others get. Some of these poems are touched with resentment, others with
blush worthy love. The combination of theme and stylistic variation means that the reader cannot help
but prefer some pieces to others. Instead of shock tactics and personal experiences, she seemed to
create more complex and interesting view.
The theme of insecurities appears throughout the poem as Duffy feels like male are leaving women
based on their appearance. The poem Medusa clearly shows many examples of insecurities. Medusa is
one of the Gorgons three sisters from Greek mythology, famous for having snakes for hair and for
turning people to stone. Medusa has always been well known among people, and was well known for
having unapproachable looks but Duffy tells her story so that the reader can gain sympathy for
Medusa, a monstrous character. The poem begins with A suspicion, a doubt, a jealousy. This conveys
how jealousy has turned the woman into a monster, and how now everything she looks at turns to
stone, which connects to the original mythology. This feeling of doubt and insecurities continues
throughout the poem, as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However in the poem, Duffy makes the reader see a distressed lady, who becomes paranoid through
jealousy as she feels like her husband is betraying her because of her looks, and further damages the
relationship between them. Medusa is insecure, turning herself into a Gorgon. She turns everything
into stones as the climax builds up, and this suggests that an insecure woman could be the most
powerful person later as she gets distressed and betrayed by a

of the postwar South, however, were home to many of the most dynamic and cutting edge forces
anywhere in the region. (p.693) Both authors also claim that the insights of urban and suburban
history provide a national frame work for interpreting the long civil rights movement (p.696), and that

  • 2. The Importance Of Financial Economics From the sources of income, it can be seen that expenses eat up 70% of total earning with savings trailing at 30%. Since expenses are tracked by budget, mechanical and unplanned purchases are eliminated. This means other than on the predetermined expenditure; no money is left for unplanned events. A particular concern is however focused on the composition of items that form the expenses. High level prioritizing is Key in achieving spending rationality that will result in financial success. As such, it is paramount to channel most of the expenditure on items that are deemed primary in life. Although the view of what falls into the primary and secondary category is subjective and depends on one s level of life, from the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the recommended percentage worksheet, most expenses on items fell in range meaning a high level of cost control was achieved. Building a strong financial clout can be achieved through remarkably splendid savings. The guide sheets in its recommendations in regards to savings put the suitable percentage at a maximum of 10%. My savings plan surprisingly beats this figure by a whopping 15%. With this, my build up finances will be high, thanks to the upward trajectory in savings. Transportation is an expense on my part. In the financial world, the goal is to make as maximum benefits as one can while keeping low the costs encompassed in the process. The recommended percentage rate for transportation expense is capped at 10% as the minimum. Having kept this expense low, it came at 2.8% lower. At a keener look, one can be able to tell that this cost cut may have been in part responsible for the increased savings above! Excellent, is it not? Recreation is good and helps one unwind from heavy schedules of life. And it comes at cost. From the sheet, as much as this expense came within range of the recommended percentage, it sailed closer to the ceiling of 10%, coming short by only 2%. From here, it can be seen an avenue or source for of funds for other items like health and food by revising it downwards to a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How The Gospel Changed My Life It s truly been an interesting week, and typically it is for me. Never a dull moment when you re on the move sixteen hours a day and always doing something. I ve had many opportunities to share bits of what I believe to be true and know to be right, as well as information about the gospel with my customers as I go door to door selling Dish TV (Network). It s amazing how in the simplest conversation so many things can come up and so many truths can be shared. For example, as a missionary, you have a goal in mind to share the gospel and to teach with the power and authority given to you by God and his Prophets which he has called. Yet, as a return mission who attends Brigham Young University Idaho, I have found it very hard to share my testimony ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At first, it was daunting and very demanding I felt I had to be the best I can be. Yet, I have talked with each of them about the gospel and they are open and hear me out. I think they see the difference and respect it and may have a desire to learn more. Three of the guys, Alexis, Calvin, and James are the ones who have really paid the most attention. They don t swear around me, they don t offer me things that would go contrary to what I believe. I had an experience last night after a long day s work, that was amazing. They asked me why I would give two years of my life to serve a mission and get rejected and set myself to just a tedious schedule. My only answer to them was this, Because it s true, the gospel is true . Which lead on to me sharing a little of my conversion story when I was twenty years old. I love, love, love sharing the gospel and last night I realized how blessed I am to be able to do it word and deed. Every single day for the rest of the summer. Not only with these three guys but with everyone I meet. It also had built the relationship between us guys in the office stronger, we are more of a team and a brotherhood. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A major reason for this is directly correlated to their innovative ways to lower cost and increase profit margins. Loblaw s must continue striving for excellence and remodel their supply chain, in order to maintain and exceed their company profit margins. Without proactively adapting to new technologies Loblaw s will fall behind the market standard and lose their position in the market, potentially losing profit margins and market share. Integrated Strategy Loblaw s is one of the most successful companies in the grocery retail industry in Canada, in order for Loblaw s to penetrate a global market they must identify, plan and execute a strategy. Loblaw s needs to identify new market potential internationally which in turn increase profit and gross margins, in order to continue expanding. Such starting locations for expansion that seem feasible are developing cities in the United States that are relatively close to the Canadian boarder. This will make it easier to control and monitor this project closely, because since this is the first global expansion, Loblaw s should keep a close eye on their productivity to determine if they can compete globally. Their financial records indicate that they can expand. Their gross margins and profits are in relatively good standing indicating that they have more money to payoff expenses and potentially expand. • 6. Fight Cclub Themes Fight Club Themes The main themes of the story are loneliness, materialism, and freedom from society. Tyler was created because of the lack of connection the narrator had with the people around him. The narrator was lonely and attended so many support groups because of it. He was not rejected at the support groups because the members thought he was sick just like they were. Materialism is a reoccurring theme as the narrator mentions how he has worked his entire life for the Ikea items in his apartment. He tried to fill the void in his life by buying worthless, meaningless stuff. People spend too much time working for things they do not need. The narrator comes to the conclusion that, You are not your job or your possessions. Only once a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The mise en scene needs to find a way to differentiate between Tyler and the narrator. Different cinematography elements such color and lighting can help do this. A color filter can be used to alter the way we see the different characters and scenes. I think the product placement of many popular, well known brands would also help add to the themes of the novel. The outfits that the characters wear are also important and described in detail in the novel. The setting in which the fights take place at should be dark, damp, and cold as depicted in the novel. The use of saturated color from light off screen and low key lighting may help achieve this. The fights usually take place in a basement so it is appropriate that the lighting be dim. The filmmakers may also want to incorporate point of view shots to give the audience a better understanding of what the narrator is going through. In the novel, the chapters jump around from different settings and almost never continue from where they left off. The editing must find a way to move quickly from scene to scene without confusing the audience. The use of jump cuts may help the audience become accustom to the transitions that occur throughout the story. The filmmakers may want to superimpose or distort some of the scenes with Tyler so that the audience can see that he is not a real person and that he is in fact imaginary. The Hunger GamesLike A Festivity In The Hunger Games It is shocking to see how the Capitol expects the Districts to treat the Hunger Games like a festivity, so that they can enjoy the suffering of the tributes as pure entertainment, while being tortuous for the Districts that have to comply. This is illustrated quite well when Katniss says that To make it humiliating as well as tortuous, the Capitol requires us to treat the Hunger Games as a festivity, a sporting event pitting every Districts against the others ... For the residences in the Capitol The Hunger Games itself is an annual event that provides them with a highly anticipated source of entertainment to pass time and the cause to celebrate. Citizens gamble on the tributes and sponsor their favourites in the arena. The Districts understand that they are more likely to survive if they are seemingly compliant with the laws and the retractions that the Capitol puts on them. District 12 along with other districts comply with the Laws that the Capitol reinforces. Not only are the Districts required to comply but they have to look like and pretend that they re agreeable to the punishment of having to sacrifice 2 of their young people from each District, every year and then act as if it is a major celebration rather than a tortuous punishment they have to endure year after year. People are addicted to watching the suffering of others, especially those in the Capitol. They love that all of the violence, the bloodshed and the struggle to stay alive is real. They like the ... The Native American Reservations Of The Native Americans The Native American Reservations Imagine being told that if you migrate to a certain location you ll be helped with nutrition and your finance will be covered. Sounds good right? Well this is what the American government promised the Native Americans. A promise that wasn t granted. Many reservations have actually created a sense of confinement and detachment. The reservations have limited resources which separates them from the American Culture and society. This is shown through the laws we ve passed to aid them, and the battle for other native Americans to stand up for their rights. Also their constant struggle for justice. Native Americans have been widely ignored. Their past and current struggles they face. Most Americans know all about know the happy Native Americans that have been celebrated on thanksgiving, but don t seem to know the ones who fought for their rights . Many Native Americans didn t have a voice, and some still don t. During World War I, approximately 9,000 Native Americans fought and died while protecting their own country in return they didn t have their rights granted to them. These rights included their Citizenship. Sounds kind of crazy how you live on your own land but need a citizenship. What separates Cristiano from the rest of the world is his drive. He has always believed that he is the best and is never satisfied with what he has already accomplished. Corporate Espionage The growing corporate espionage activities due to intense competition lead to highly controlling security measures and intensive employee monitoring which bring about distrust in the workplace Part I .What I already know The reason I chose this topic is due to the fact that a class called human resources management which by the way is my major, once we discussed the topic of ethics the professor covered corporate espionage and determined it as a federal crime. Professor Valdivieso felt very passionately about this topic because his thesis was based on this area. Some action that can be taken according to the book depends on the threat you re facing and believe it or not the difference between regular spies and corporate spies is very small so the same so the means to control it are alike. There are four countermeasures that are commonly used by industrial spies: technical, operational, physical and personnel security, these will later on be discussed in depth due to the harm that can be caused to a company by a lack of security not only financially speaking but also the workplace environment distrust that can only be corrected by reorganizing employees. This will represent time and money wasted. Clearly Dr. Marjorie Chang believe corporate espionage is everywhere today and should be considered as a potential threat especially in big corporation when the competition rises daily and technological access is just a click away. • 14. Diffusion Of Altruism Essay This paper looks at the theories relevant to the diffusion of prosocial behavior as it spreads through social media. Altruism is delineated from other types of prosocial behavior because it is directly related to empathy. The two theories of motivation for prosocial behavior are the Empathy Altruism Hypothesis and Social Exchange Theory. These two motivational states outline the paradox of altruism, which infers that selfless behavior can provide benefits to those engaging in it. When looking at the chasm in the Diffusion of Innovation, presented by Everett Rogers, these theories can be applied in order to accelerate the diffusion across the chasm. Messages that elicit empathic responses should target the innovators and early adopters. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first opinion lies in the Empathy Altruism Hypothesis. This hypothesis, created by Daniel Batson, studies altruistic behaviors and links their production to empathic concern for others (Batson, 2011). Batson (2011) would argue that prosocial behavior can be elicited from empathic concern, whereas others have argued there are only self serving processes at work. The alternate opinion comes from Social Exchange Theory, which applies economic principles to social relationships (Miller, 2013). As Shari Miller describes in her article from the Salem Press Encyclopedia, social exchanges happen because people make choices that create maximum benefits and minimize personal disadvantages (Miller, 2013). When this theory is applied to prosocial behavior as its primary motivation, the actions can quickly be reduced to social behavior instead. The reductionist approach of Social Exchange spins the motivations for any social behavior as purely self serving. While this may be true of some surface level prosocial behavior, there is still the observation that it can be selflessly motivated. Empathy generated altruism falls directly opposite of reward seeking prosocial behaviors. These two concepts create a polarization in motivational states. The altruism paradox, is defined in the Salem Press Encyclopedia of Health as the difference between prosocial behavior that is self serving and prosocial behavior that is ... The purpose of the group was a safe place where people can come to heal by mourning, supporting, encouraging, and expressing grief with others. This agency limits groups of this type to twelve members to ensure that each member is comfortable in the small chapel in which the group is held however, this group was composed of two men and six females. All group members were Caucasian and had lost a spouse of forty plus years. Every member of the group lived in an upscale fifty five plus community and all had retired (or retired spouse) from a distinguished profession with pensions. Two of the female members had identifying disabilities. The youngest female was born with a neurological disorder and the other was hard of hearing. There was one female group member who was born and raised in Germany. There were two prominent roles present in this group. Two of the female members never spoke unless spoken to, making them the silent members. In the beginning of the group one of the silent members admitted she was not comfortable in a group setting, but she promised her children she would come due to her inability to cope with the death of her husband. • 18. Major Component Of Sustainability And Its Effects On The... Biodiversity is major component of sustainability, and it is defined as the variety of genes, organisms, species, and ecosystems in a given area or on the planet as a whole (Miller and Spoolman 2015, 5). Urban spaces typically lack biodiversity due to a variety of factors that cause the destruction of ecosystems, such as replacing established ecosystems with large lawns, parking lots, buildings, and highways. When these well established, high functioning ecosystems are disturbed, we eliminate the variety of genes, organisms, and species that lived in that ecosystem. In doing so, we have caused stress for the organisms that live there. For example, if we fragment an ecosystem via highway or road expansion, at a minimum we are permanently altering the breeding and feeding relationships that existed in that ecosystem. In terms of breeding, highway construction separates organisms of the same species and keeps them from mating. This results in fewer genes being exchanged between organisms. Those genes could potentially be what saves a species from extinction in the event of a disaster, such as a forest fire or flood. In addition, highways also disrupt energy flow patterns which provide ecosystem services like a natural form of population control. In accordance with that, the extinction of even a single species can cause a rapid decline in a variety of organisms in that same ecosystem. This is due to the fact that many organisms within an ecosystem have co evolved, meaning ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. Liquidity And Liquidity Risk Management Essay Liquidity and Liquidity Risk Assets come in many forms, differentiating in their liquidity. Liquidity, by definition, is how easy an asset can be traded (Hertrich, 2015). Different assets have different abilities to be traded, cash being the easiest; hence cash is the most liquid asset. This causes price differentiation, where more liquid assets have higher price tags and lower trading costs (Hertrich, 2015). This makes more liquid assets more attractive for investors. When assets have low liquidity there are risks involved for investors because there is a chance that the asset cannot be turned into cash when needed. Liquidity risk calculates the difficulty of selling an asset in return for cash (Currie, 2011). Liquidity risk is associated with low liquidity; hence there is a negative relationship between liquidity and liquidity risk (Hertrich, 2015). This implies that the higher the liquidity risk of the asset, the less the possibility the asset can be traded. Typically, financial markets in developed countries are liquid; however, in the US during the Global Financial Crisis [GFC], many homeowners were unable to sell their houses due to declining prices and falling demand, so the housing market became illiquid (Currie, 2011). The GFC demonstrated how volatile liquidity can be and that liquidity disruption could be system wide, seen by its global effect (Bessis, 2015). During the GFC, there was also a systemic bank crisis. This notion leads one to see that the participation with technologies can be an essential aspect of one s progression in this new contemporary society. The emergence and subsequent dominance of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in this digitally mediated world has led to the need for digital education in schools, which in turn can bring both potentials and challenges in divergent school settings, as digital literacies bring differing values and meanings in relation to the setting they are situated in. Transitioning from old to new literacies; digital literacy as a socially imbued construct; digital divide; ICT out of school; educators and ICT; and implementing ICT in the classroom will be discussed in order to extricate both the potentials and challenges with the immersion of digital literacies in education. • 28. Critical Appreciation Of Sonnet 47 The determined female monarch, Queen Elizabeth I, was known for creating a cultural of love in England during her reign. Her love for her people and devotion to their protection was symbolized by her commitment to remain chaste throughout her life. In return, she was said to be well liked by her people. This relationship of love between Queen Elizabeth I and her courtiers provides for a unique power balance in Elizabethan courts and intertwines with the popular practice of writing love sonnets in 15th century England. Poets wrote deeply romantic and emotion filled sonnets that had underlying political messages, like those of Phillip Sidney. Phillip Sidney s love sonnets, as evident in sonnet 47 from Astrophil and Stella, symbolize and comment on the balance of power in court politics and the uneasiness of Elizabethan society about the rule of a female. Sonnet 47 illustrates the torment and inner struggle that a man experience when the woman he loves, Stella, does not return his love. This plot of betrayal of love is common in sonnet writing. The speaker is frustrated and contemplates what to do about his love. It is written in choppy verses that symbolize the sheer anguish and struggle that the speaker is experiencing. There is also a major shift in tone in the middle of the sonnet. The first half of the sonnet is written in a series of questions as the speaker reflects on how he got into the situation that he is in. The questions possess strong imagery of slavery with ... Analyzing The Thoughts Of Ancient Philosophers Analyzing the Thoughts of Ancient Philosophers 3 Major Ideas from The Republic Books 1 5 The Republic is exemplary in showing the knowledge of the philosophers of Socrates and Plato s day. Socrates argument of what justice is shows many dynamics and layers within his mind. Socrates will never start a conversation with someone else without being able to get a new thought completely fabricated from their own mind. He is a very intelligent philosopher; proven by the fact that he can jump start a conversation and watch it go for ages between many men while never giving his two cents. When the topic of what justice is comes up between Socrates and the other men, he never once tells the men what he thinks during the first few books of The Republic, he just has points to refute all of their suggestions. As stated in A Companion to Socrates, Socrates impact on the world with his philosophical teaching was tremendous, and he owes it all to the teaching habits and skills that he obtained throughout the years. (Ahbel) His willingness to provide a topic and then watch it unfold between many other arguers was a quality that allowed many students to learn from themselves, just through the help of Socrates. He wasn t the sort of teacher that would talk at his students, he liked to have them scour their own brains and come up with their own knowledge and ideas.
