The IB Geography syllabus specifies several skills that should be mastered during the course. The skills are not assessed explicitly in external exams but they are assessed implicitly via data response questions and the expectations of quality essays. The internal assessment based on geographic fieldwork and geography extended essays are the main ways that students have opportunity to demonstrate their geographic skills.

Crop diversification in India is visualized as the shift from traditionally cultivated less remunerative crops to more remunerative crops. The process of crop diversification is a result of government efforts, market conditions, and farmers' decisions according to the physical conditions of a particular area. The study has been carried out considering Lakhimpur Kheri district as the study area. The crop diversification was estimated by applying three techniques given by Gibbs and Martin, Bhatiya and Singh. Two agricultural years 2006-07 and 2016-17 are taken for the study. The study focused on the spatial comparison in which the block is the minimum unit area for the analysis. The maps for the spatial distribution of crop diversity are generated in the Arc GIS 10.2.2. A change in the crop diversification in a decade has also been examined. There was great similarity in the results by applying all the techniques, but there was some exception in some cases. The results show that, in 2006-07, the diversification was high in the northern and southern blocks like Nighasan, Dhaurehra, Isanagar, Mitauli, and Pasgawan while the blocks lying in the western and central region registered the low intensity of diversification. While, in 2016-17, southern blocks registered high crop diversification and the diversification was low in the central region in almost all the techniques applied.Description of TACC principles

Evaluating the impact of HIV/AIDS from the local to international levels
Within South Africa, HIV/AIDS prevalence is more than 18% in two of its districts and more than 14% nationally. It is a major cause of death in South Africa, where life expectancy has dropped from 64 years to 56 years from 1990 to 2017 due to HIV/AIDS. The epidemic heavily affects other countries in southern Africa as well. UNAIDS data shows that HIV prevalence in South Africa has stabilized in recent years after a major decline, but the disease continues to have significant economic and social impacts.

Browsing Large Collections of Geo-Tagged Pictures

Chernobyl adjustments and responses

This released radioactive material into the atmosphere. Prior adjustments for safety included keeping backup cooling pumps and an emergency core cooling system. However, factors like budget constraints from military spending and an inexperienced crew affected safety measures. In response, over 100,000 people were evacuated and a sarcophagus was built to entomb the reactor, with long-term effects including increased monitoring and an exclusion zone. Government control of information slowed initial responses to the unpredictable and rapidly developing disaster.
Cyclone nargis
Cyclone Nargis caused catastrophic damage in Burma in May 2008, killing over 146,000 people through strong winds and flooding. The Burmese government was unprepared for a storm of this severity and refused international aid for over a month, exacerbating the human impact through further deaths from starvation, disease and untreated injuries. The majority of Burmese lived in non-durable housing and the country lacked adequate emergency response systems, highlighting its vulnerability to natural disasters.
Hurricane Katrina Adjustments & Responses
Hurricane Katrina caused over $108 billion in damage when it hit Louisiana, Florida, and Mississippi as a Category 5 hurricane in 2005. It destroyed over 200,000 homes and displaced 800,000 people. New Orleans was especially hard hit due to being below sea level, with levees and floodwalls failing in over 50 locations. The impacts and response were greatly influenced by the high poverty levels and segregation that left many vulnerable black communities exposed. International aid was provided to assist with recovery.

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UP
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
