Metropolitan Police Service
The Metropolitan Police Service covers the jurisdiction of Greater London within the United Kingdom
over 1, 578km squared, with a population of 7.2 million people (MPS 2016). There is over 31, 000
officers employed within this service with 13, 000 police staff, 2,600 community support officers and
roughly 5, 100 volunteers (MPS 2016). On the 1st of December 2009, The Metropolitan Police
Service implemented the Diversity and Equality Strategy that correlates with The Equality Act
2010.The objectives of this strategy are to improve victim satisfaction (especially for those of minority
groups), foster good community relations, decrease any unlawful discrimination or harassment and

al 2006). Also Australia is a largely multicultural country consisting of many diverse and cultural
communities. Not only this but Federal laws have already been introduced within Australia to
criminalise any discrimination against ethnicity/race, age, disabilities and sexual orientation (Human
Rights Action Plan 2016). This also shows that similar techniques to the Diversity and Equality
Strategy have already been implanted within Australia. In New South Wales for example, there has
been a focus on educating the public on bias crime and how to identify or report it, the implications of
a bias crime and motivating people to report them so the police and government are able to get precise
statistics of these crimes by utilising community efforts (NSW Police 2016). The objectives and forms
of policing of the Metropolitan Police Service use and strategies within Australia are both similar
culturally, socially and economically with ethnicities and challenges that arise as disgusted previously.
Therefore, enhancing this education or adapting the Diversity and Equality Strategy to a national
standpoint would be effective with positive impacts to establish national statistics and work with
larger communities to reduce

The World Of Sports Arenas
Introduction
In the world of sports arenas there is one that stands as a pivotal high point above almost all other
stadiums. The University of Southern California s mammoth of a stadium, the Los Angeles Memorial
Coliseum is one of the biggest sports stadiums in college football, and has been a standard by which
others are judge. Being declared a land mark by the state of California after nearly 80 years of use, this
structure has had many different uses other than its current purpose of housing one of the most
dominate teams in college football, the Trojans. Since its opening day the stadium has set world record
in attendance and then beaten the same records hosting some of the most famous people in the world.
(Coliseum History) Throughout the 92 years of the stadiums existences many changes have taken
place and the facility has had to adapt to the new century. Advances in construction and design have
allowed the Trojans to stay current and competitive with the new stadiums. One thing remains, and
that is the fact that USC Trojan fans love the unique feel and history that has been made throughout
the walls of the stadium.
History of facility Erected in 1923 the Trojans did not waste time until the first footballs game was
played. On October 6th the team faced off against Pomona College finding their first home victory in
the new stadium. In the first opening game the Trojans played in front of a 12,836 people which was a
relatively small number of people considering they

Nutrition Preference And Its Effect On Diet Preference
Introduction:
Every living thing has a diet preference, it just depends how wide or narrow those preferences are.
Diet preference helps determine the genetic make up of an organism, you are what you eat . The
appetite level of an organism can affect diet preference by allowing them to eat something they
wouldn t normally eat. For this same reason, hydration levels of an organism may play a role in diet
preference. Understanding diet preference in a species like humans may seem trivial but not for
something like a house cricket.
House crickets, Acheta domesticus are thought to be endemic to northwest Africa or southwest Asia
(Weismann and Rentz 1977, Ghouri 1961). Currently this species has a near cosmopolitan distribution,
and is typically associated with anthropogenic establishments. Females can be easily distinguished
from males from their ovipositor, which allows them to lay eggs underground. Crickets are diet
generalists and can feed on a variety of plants(revise). Currently there is little research on what effects
hydration levels has on diet preference in crickets. If crickets are given a choice between kale and
iceberg lettuce, crickets that are more dehydrated will visit iceberg lettuce over kale. Sex may play a
factor in this as well. If sex has an effect on number of visits to kale and iceberg then we should see a
difference in visits among males and females.
Methods:
41 crickets, 17 males and 24 females that were obtained from the Petsmart store at El Con

Procedural Culture
When people say that an American political culture is procedural, they are referring to the concept of
procedural guarantees, which states that the government should insure fair rules and processes that
will work smoothly in order to treat everyone equally with no promise of a negative or positive
outcome. On the contrary, when people say that an American political culture has an individualistic
nature, they are referring to the concept of individualism, which states that what is good for society is
based upon what is good for individuals. These two concepts can correlate and relate to the three core
American values of democracy, equality, and freedom. Americans refer to democracy as representative
democracy, where it is based on consent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can be demonstrated in the Bill of Rights, which was implemented in order to persuade citizens
that the federal government would respect their basic rights. Before the Bill of Rights was
implemented into the Constitution, citizens did not have individual control over their basic rights,
instead they were regulated by the government. This resulted in citizens questioning whether or not
they should trust their current government because they feared it would control them as the British
government did in the past. This is because the government did not take into consideration of what
was beneficial for its citizens, which in turn resulted to a society that distrusted the government. In
order to gain the trust of its citizens, the government decided to add the Bill of Rights to the
Constitution. This would grant and protect citizens of their basic rights of freedom of speech, religion,
assembly, and due process of law. This is an example of individualism because it demonstrates how
the federal government took affirmative action in considering what was beneficial to its citizens,
which in turn helped shape a good

This analysis will be limited to some certain main aspects because of the company s high complexity.
The outcomes will help to understand the strategic position of the organisation.
Inbound logistics, operations, outbound logistics, marketing sales and services are primary activities
of the value chain and will therefore be discussed first. Supporting activities such as procurement,
technology development, human resource management and firm infrastructure refer to all of the
primary activities and will be discussed independently.
1.1 Primary Activities
Inbound logistics
A specific German characteristic of its supplier system is the so called Automotive Cluster. A cluster is
a concentration of institutions and companies in a particular branch of industry within a particular
area. Companies can highly benefit from this factor through sharing competences, short delivery times
and close co operations. These are major influences on BMW s inbound logistics, meaning that most
of its aspects, like storing and distributing, are outsourced to their suppliers.
Two major clusters of BMW are Leipzig and the so called Automobildreieck (automotive triangular)
which includes the cities Dingolfing/Landshut Regensburg Ingolstadt. According to a research of the
IWD (Cologne) about 20.7% of all social insurance registered employees work for the automotive

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Open Source Web Development
During the last 2 years or so, India has been a victim of Global recession. It caused huge losses to the
companies, leaving many as jobless. It further increased the rate of unemployment and made them as
bankrupts in the society.
Many of them have assumed that there are no jobs at all in the IT industry and started losing their faith
on the private sector as a whole.
In fact, the reality is very different from that of our misconception. Even during the recession, the
industry was in need of some potential designers and developers. It was in search of skilled open
source web developers and web/graphic designers. So What is Open Source web development? How
is it possible for companies to recruit the OSS developers even during the recession? ... Show more

Absolutely no software cost:
Computer requires both the hardware and software for its smooth functioning. The computer software
costs more than the hardware, therefore, many users have been deprived of buying it. Instead, they
resort to use the illegal version of the software. This does not give them any legal right to own,
distribute or use the product in the open environment.
2. No virus attacks:
We often complain of many viruses on our computer, this causes the computer to be formatted at least
once a month. Besides this, we are constantly targeted by the spammers. This is primarily due to, the
90% of the computer users highly depend on the commercial softwares for their daily activities. Only
the 10 % of the users depend on the open source applications. Therefore, all the spammers and viruses
aim at destroying the majority of computers.
Thus, there will always be a less scope for hackers for targeting the open source applications.
Let us take an example from Microsoft, every one of us uses the Windows as our preferred operating
system. We constantly receive warnings from spammers, viruses and other notifications about the
problems with our illegal versions of Windows. During such occasions, we can neither contact the
Microsoft since Windows has been manufactured by it, nor use the illegal and corrupted

Satire In Northanger Abbey
Satire is a literary device used by writers typically to critique society or an individual. It can be done a
variety of ways, including humor, irony, and ridicule. An example of a writer using satire to critique
society would be Jane Austen s Northanger Abbey. Using a variety of techniques, Austen criticizes
how society viewed novels and the people who write them by parodying common tropes in novels.
Most novels just want to pull the reader in, and make them forget that they are reading a novel, but
Austen does not allow this. The very first line in Northanger Abbey is No one who had ever seen
Catherine Morland in her infancy, would have supposed her born to be a heroine (1). By pointing out
that the main character is supposed to be the heroine, Austen draws attention to the fact that this is a
novel. However, while Catherine is in fact a heroine, it is also states from the beginning that she does
not match the expectations of the average heroine. So right from the beginning, the reader knows that
while this is a novel, it is not going to be a typical one. It is in fact, going to parodying and critiquing
some common aspects of novels. Austen continues on, and not so subtly points out the ways that
Catherine differs from the heroines normally found in novels.
For Catherine s ...situation in life, the character of her father and mother, her own person and
disposition were all equally against her (Austen 1). She was fairly normal and did not have any of the
commonly used characteristics of heroines working in her favor, despite being a heroine herself.
Austen writes Catherine this was to parody the way women are written in novels. There normally has
to be some catalyst that makes the heroine special, different than the average women. However,
Catherine wasn t incredibly poor, had two well tempered parents, and preferred other hobbies ...to the
more heroic enjoyments... (Austen 1) that heroines were normally fond of. By completely disregarding
the characteristics normally attributed to heroines, Austen creates a character that would not fit into
the normal novel. She essentially gives Catherine the character of someone who is almost the
antithesis of what a heroine normally is, and by doing this critiques the

Analyze 400AD As The Beginning Of Japan s History
The Japanese traditions state that the sun goddess created Japan and its emperors. However,
researchers highlight 400AD as the start of Japan s history after its foundation by the Yamato clan in
Kyoto. The group controlled other families in the eastern and western parts of the region and tried to
extend their rule in Korea. However, such interaction led to the introduction of Buddhism. In the 700s,
China joined the Yamato clan and ruled through an imperial court. With the help of the samurai, the
Minamoto clan established a military government under Yoritomo s leadership in the 1100s. The entry
of the Portuguese missionaries, Spanish, English and Dutch traders in the 16th century led to the
collapse of the dictatorial military government as marked by the transition to the current power in the
19th century.

Aristotle s Four Causes
The theory of the Four Causes refers to an influential Aristotelian principle whereby the causes of
movement and/or change are categorized allowing us to have knowledge of our existence and
everything around us. Aristotle wrote that we do not have knowledge of a thing until we have grasped
its why , that is to say, its cause. He provided an account of the operation of various individual
substances in the universe. Distinctions were made between things of two sorts: those that are
contingent on something else s movement and those that necessary in their own movement. Aristotle
not only suggested a proper description of these but also attempted to answer particular questions such
as Why does this event happen? and Why is this object as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Final Cause causes movement and gives purpose to everything in the universe. It could be argued
that the final cause given by the Prime Mover is for everything to simply change. However, Aristotle
describes the prime mover as God, implying that it obtaining goodness is our purpose. Therefore, it is
God that attracts everything to himself while remaining unaffected. Aristotle supposed God s
existence to be necessary, inferring that God does not depend on anything else for existence. He lacks
the potential and therefore does not change, exists outside our temporal reality, making him eternal.
Aristotle stated that eternal beings are essentially good; there can be no imperfection in something that
existing necessarily. Evil originates from a lack of, something which should exist. This would have to
be the mere absence of actuality that Aristotle stated God

NSA Surveillance: Is safety worth losing freedom?
Recently there is debate about if it is okay for the United States government to spy on citizens using
NSA and FBI. This became common knowledge when Edward Snowden leaked millions of
documents that show the government is spying on the public. The United States government should
not keep the NSA surveillance going because it hurts the public more than it keeps the public safe.
On the pro side there are many people that believe if you are a good person and do nothing bad then
government can get your information. (Debate Central) Watching Americans using NSA and FBI will

meaning they might use the information for a bad purpose. (Debate Central) Police state is worse than

This image shows Obama and his ears are NSA and FBI which also are satellites. Then little red riding
hood is on the right and she says he has big ears. This from the story meaning that Obama might be a
wolf and cannot be trusted because he will hurt the innocent girl (public). (Moodle) This means that
the wolf might say he is a good person and be actually bad.
The United States government should not keep the NSA surveillance going because it hurts the public
more than it keeps the public safe. I learned that there are many things that both side can say about this
issue but it is better to have more freedom and be in some danger. Based on the information the
government will not do the right thing if they have too much

Importance Of Measuring Meridian Arcs Essay
The completion of the survey of a great chain of first order triangulation s along the arc of the 30th
meridian of east longitude, from South Africa to Egypt, is considered one of the most exceptional
surveying feats to ever be executed in Africa and thus its history has interested geodetic surveyors
throughout the world. This paper aims to expatiate on the importance of measuring meridian arcs, the
need to establish a geodetic survey in a country or continent and subsequently will recount the
sequence of events that led to the 75 year length completion of the African arc.
The size and shape of the Earth have been of interest to man since the earliest of times, dating as far
back to Eratosthenes in the third century. Throughout the years during the 18th and 19th century,
geodesists were pre occupied with the task of devising a more accurate determination of the size and
shape of the Earth. This led to the observing of necessary triangulations along arcs to determine the
radius of the Earth and its degree of flattening (MacDonald, 2000). The African arc, conceived by Sir
David Gill, Her Majesty s Astronomer at Cape Town, was created with the understanding that it would
contribute immensely to the better knowledge of the form and dimensions on the Earth (Smith, 2006)
therefore adding value to the advancement of geodesy. However, besides the need to determine more
accurate dimensions for the Earth (Hendriks, 1955), there was a pressing need to establish a reliable

The Functionalist Perspective On Emotions
According to the functionalist perspective on emotions, emotions are defined as an attempt by the
individual to establish, maintain, change, or terminate the relation between the environment and the
individual (Frijda, 1986). This approach is intrinsically relational and suggests that one cannot
understand emotion without considering the individual within any given context. Thus, emotions are
conceptualized as being flexible, contextually bound, and goal directed, and are critical for guiding
interpersonal relations (Butler, Lee, Gross, 2007; Campos, Mumme, Kermoian, Campos, 1994). In
order to understand how emotions influence interpersonal relations one must consider the role of
cultural context. Culture influences the way in which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, the goal of this study is to examine cultural differences in peer socialization of emotions within
children s close, same sex friendships. In order to appreciate the role of culture on emotion, one must
first gain an understanding of the importance of emotional development and socialization. Once these
concepts have been explained, past research regarding culture and emotion will be evidenced in
support for the current study proposal.
Emotional Development and Socialization
Emotional development is the emergence of a child s experience, expression, understanding, and
regulation of emotions. This developmental process begins in infancy and continues through late
adolescence, with the most dramatic increase in skills often occurring during the transition from
middle childhood to adolescence (von Salisch, 2001). Emotional development is strongly related with
healthy psychological functioning, as research consistently supports the link between deficits in
emotional competency and a variety of negative social and psychological outcomes such as increases
in internalizing and externalizing symptomology (Garner Hinton, 2010; Perry Parish Zeman, 2011). It
is because of this strong association that researchers have pushed for increased attention to identify
components deemed necessary for adaptive

Comparison Of Steven Spielberg And War Horse
The movie that I choose for my final discussion post is War Horse. It is an American British war
drama film released in 2011. (Wikipedia) It takes before and during World War I and is told from Joey

First, it shares similar classifications to director Sergei M. Einstein s Battleship Potemkin, made in
1925. They both share aspects and qualities that give it an appearance of a documentary film, which is
a film that attempts to record actuality using primarily either a sociological or a journalistic approach.
However, both of the films are narrative in classification. They both tell a story, and follows the rules
of literary construction in that it begins with expository material, adds levels of complications, builds
to a climax, and ends with a resolution of all the plot elements. (Sporre) War Horse demonstrates
actions of tension build up and release like those seen in the film Jaws. The filmmakers build into their
film a tension release that deliberately draws laughter from the audience, but at a place in the film
where they wish them to laugh. (Sporre) In War Horse an example is seen when, in the middle of an
intense battle between both sides of the war, a representative from both sides come together to rescue
Joey , a horse and the main protagonisnt, from No man s land . And the two surprisingly engage in
ideal chit chat about where they are from and How the ladies are in their respective countries. (War

Revenge In The Tempest
Imagine someone embarrassing you in front an audience, what would you do? Normally in situations
like these, we would try and get back at them to feel what we ve felt.Instead of trying to get back at
them we should be able to forgive and forget because in reality it probably wasn t their
intentions.Forgiving someone is something that helps us in many ways. While some may argue that
vengeance teaches people their lesson, there is more value in forgiveness than vengeance because it
helps you with your well being, correlation, and makes you feel empowering. Some argue that
vengeance educates people on what they shouldn t do. In the play The Tempest written by William

Louisa May Alcott Contributions
Louisa May Alcott
Louisa May Alcott was a nineteenth century American author who wrote short stories, novels, and
poems. She was a feminist pioneer who believed in the rights for women. She made it clear through
her characters in Little Women which is one of her mostly known works till this day. The novel shows
women s struggle between family duty and personal growth, the danger of gender stereotyping, the
necessity of work, and the importance of being genuine. Louisa May Alcott was born on November
29, 1832 in Germantown, Pennsylvania but, raised in Concord, Massachusetts. She lived with her
three sisters, mother, and father. Money was scares in the the Alcott household but education was rich
and very important to them. Her education came from her father who was a transcendentalist tutored
her until age sixteen. She later studied under David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Theodore
Parker who were also big in the transcendentalist movement and influencers for her to become a
novelist. Louisa s writing career began when she was a tutor for Emerson s daughter, Ellen. Her first
book was written for Ellen and was called Flowers Fables. The book was a collection of fairy tales and
was published when Alcott was twenty three. She had intention in becoming a children s writer but the
style came naturally to her. She originally started by making sentimental and thriller stories for an
adult magazines to make money for her family who, at the time, had financial troubles.

Brain Symbolism
The symbolism of the heart being related to the brain I feel is very unlikely. Although studies have
shown that in recent research of the heart they have found little details on how they have discovered
little neutrons and protons and nerve cells that can relate to the brain making it more believable that
the heart is much more than just another organ. The heart does not only just pump blood but they also
think the heart can transplant memories from the donor s past experiences. The symbolism of the heart
is a tricky thing to describe and relate to the brain as the human body is more complex than we could
have ever thought. When it comes down to the emotions, feelings, and memories people say they have
experienced is where the controversy

Self Reliance By Ralph Waldo Emerson Summary
Ralph Waldo Emerson, in his text, Self Reliance , persuades the audience to adopt individualism and
have confidence in his or her thoughts and actions. His actions and beliefs are reflected through the
Transcendentalist movement, found by him. Emerson aims to convince society that nonconformity
will lead greatness rather than isolate him from it. He achieves this by using strategies such as
personification, analogy, and allusion. Emerson immediately establishes a conflict in the beginning of
the essay by personifying society as the enemy. In line ten, the author states, Society everywhere is in
conspiracy against the manhood of every one of its members. In this conflict set up by Emerson,
society is now the antagonist. Emerson deliberately distinguishes between the success of an individual
and the success of an individual who relies on society and achieves what is needed which is seen in
line five in which Emerson is saying, no kernel of nourishing corn can come to him but through his
toil bestowed on that plot of ground which is given to him to till. A few lines down Emerson mentions
society s members sharing bread to another. Emerson, in saying bread instead of corn and saying
sharing, implies that society gives what is bare necessity to an individual however man himself will
give himself more than what society offers. Society is actually taking away from its members instead
of enhancing or improving their lives by asking its members to concur to surrender the liberty and
culture of the individual. Emerson s intention of making society the enemy is to ultimately make
nonconformity the enemy. By agreeing to society, the individual is conforming to society thus
deviating from society is a better goal for an individual and leads them to distinction in society.
Emerson employs analogy in his essay by comparing society to a joint stock company. In line twelve,
Emerson says, society is a joint stock company, in which members agree, for the better securing of his
bread to each shareholder... This comparison is implying that society s members think of the whole
rather than that of the individual. Society seems to have a notion that they need to do good for all and
in executing that thought they

Persuasive Essay On Go On Vacation
Finally, we get to go on vacation. I said as we got up to leave. My parents had already loaded up the
car and we were ready to go. All morning while I was getting ready was the sound of suitcases being
dragged around and the beeping of the car as the trunk opened and closed. Then I heard all of my
other seven brothers and sisters get into the car. We of course have a huge car but even with that it s
still a little cramped. All of my brothers stunk up the car and it made the spilt milk smell ten times
worse. We had an hour drive to the airport and then another 5 hours on a plane. My oldest brother,
Andrew had already fallen asleep and my other 3 brothers were poking him and trying to annoy him
but he was out cold. Because in total there are ten of us it s super rare that we ever get to go on
vacation. But my dad just got a ton of extra vacation days so we finally decided to go on a vacation.
This vacation is going to be awesome, as long as no one gets lost, sick, hurt, or complaints. Well
maybe the complaining part won t happen but hey, I can always hope. A long long hour later we arrive
at the airport and park the car. This is the dreaded part, trying to get everyone s things organized. My
bag of course is a decent size. Andrews seems a little small but then again he wears the same outfit
every day and probably won t need much else. Then my older sister Chloe s bag comes out. It s huge!
It seriously look like it was about to explode. But it s too big so she has to

Umbilical Cord Blood
There are so many people in this world today that are diagnosed with blood disorders, and other
cancerous diseases. Along these terrible diseases comes a long, painful journey of treatments, like
bone marrow transplants. But, bone marrow transplants aren t the only transplants in this world now.
In the outstanding findings of 1980 an estimation of more than 130 million infants are born, and
umbilical cord blood (UCB) is known to be the most abundant reservoir of hematopoietic cells for
many clinical applications. (Waller Wise R.)
Umbilical cord blood has many potential usages, yet mothers don t know about it. Instead of using the
umbilical cord blood, doctors usually just dispose of it. What mothers don t have the knowledge of is

This is because one unit of umbilical cord blood won t affect adults whatsoever. There aren t enough
hematopoietic stem cells in one unit. This is why scientists and clinical trials are doing their best to
come up with a way to double the unit so adults are able to use it, and not just adolescence. Scientists
are also still studying more ways to treat diseases with cord blood. At Duke University, for example,
researchers are using patients own cord blood in trials for cerebral palsy and Hypoxic ischemic
encephalopathy (a condition in which the brain does not receive enough oxygen). Trials are also under
way for the treatment of autism at the Sutter Neuroscience Institute in Sacramento, California. Also,
according to the New England Journal of Medicine, cord blood is still better than marrow
transplantations after studies were done. The adult patients in the trial had advanced leukemia, and
were then give a bone marrow transplant, but recovery was slower because they weren t matched. On
the other hand, the leukemia patients that were given cord blood transplants had more matches than
bone marrow, and also had no acute graft versus host disease. A really exciting area that s just now in
the basic science lab, is the area where stem cells...can be used for going over to muscle cells like your

LACE DRESSES
Which one of you brides has always wanted and dreamt of having a lace dress? This blog post is going
to inform you on everything you need to know about finding your perfect lace dress. All fabrics that
wedding dresses use are all beautiful, but none of them come close to how romantic and historical lace
is.
Back in history, when a bride would wear lace at her wedding, this demonstrated the wealth of your
family and prosperity. It would tell everyone that you came from a wealthy family and that you could
afford to get married in a lace wedding dress. Things have changed since then, and that is not what
people think of when they attend a wedding. Now you see more lace on a dining room table or in the

If you don t want to get a long dress with a cathedral train, then don t. Do what you want to do

in a short, playful wedding dress, then try and find what you have always envisioned. Trust me, there
are some short wedding dresses that are to die for, you may just have to look a little bit harder. Some
of the reasons why brides may choose a short wedding dress over a long and traditional dress is if the
wedding is more informal, on a beach, at a court house, a summer/spring wedding, or even if the bride
just wants to be different!
Short wedding dresses are also becoming very popular for brides that want to have two different
dresses for their big day. They will a formal and elegant dress for their ceremony and then at some

Essay On Chief s Magic
Meta: Representing a brand new series and a brand new venture for Microgaming, the developer is
showcasing Native American spirit in new game Chief s Magic!
Chief s Magic Review
Chief s Magic takes you back in time where the classic 3 reel slot machine ran wild, and uses Native
American visuals to stand out from other similar titles in the genere. With a single payline being
featured, along with three pre defined paytables, Chief s Magic is a very simple slot game experience
without the usual wild icons and scatter symbols in the mix. With the availability of playing between
0.25 and 15 coins, this game has a top prize award that is 200x your wager for the matching of three
chief icons, though this is available only at the highest bet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A wild symbol is not featured in this game, as it has only the payout feature that is reserved for the
BAR logos, which can be assembled together to make a winning payline.
With three single BAR logos you get a payout of 3x your wager, but three double BAR logos give you
a payout of 5x your wager, and three triple BAR logos give a payout of 10x your wager, while mixing
and matching combinations of the three can double your starting wager. For instance, two single
BARs with a double BAR following is still a winning spin in Chief s Magic, though you would get the
minimum winning payout.
Nothing but a Dud
Besides what has been highlighted before, there is not much to the game and we are stuck wondering
why the icon with the game s highest value, the titular chief, is not featured as a substitute wild icon.
Having only one payline, this won t have a massive effect to make it a must play for any players
interested, but at the very least it would add some type of action and excitement. Putting it simply,
Chief s Magic is a dud when it comes to bonus features.
Looking for Brighter Fortunes
This is probably not the best of Microgaming s releases, as it appears to not have power where it is
most needed. There are greater games from Microgaming out there, with a few actually being a bit
adventurous with their creativeness and themes. Chief Fortune, which is the sequel to Chief s Magic,

The Motto Analysis
Aubrey Drake Graham is one of the biggest rapper and television actor, who is best known in Canada
for playing a role as Jimmy Brook, the wheelchair guy on Degrassi. He began his transition into the
world of Hip Hop which is a style of popular music of rap, a subculture of inner youths who are
typically devotees of rap music. One of his well known songs is The Motto, a song that has been
popularized and defined as YOLO, an acronym for you only live once. It implies that one should
enjoy life, even if that means to take risks in life. The video, The Motto illustrates that acquiring loads
of cash and material possessions such as good looking low riders, fine women, and appealing jewelry
are the sources of pleasure and happiness. I agree with Drake s interpretation of YOLO because in the
United States, having money gives an individual access to anything and although the United States is a
free country, money can give freedom and choices.

Nursing Dress Codes
Abstract The purpose of this paper is to offer a summary and synthesis of some of the more recent
research regarding implementing mandatory dress codes. The tradition of nursing attire has changed
over the years. The history of nursing uniforms includes wearing solid white skirts, shoes, and white
cap. These white garments typically signified nursing roles and differentiated nurses from other staff
members. Common questions that arise within medical institutions includes: what are the advantages
of implementing mandatory dress codes? Should nurses be required to wear traditional white
uniforms? Should personal individuality be preserved? How will patient care be impacted? Regardless
of the point of view, most positions tend to agree that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Is this self expression beneficial to our patients and our nurses? Personal self expression has lead to
the assortment of styles seen in the nursing wardrobe; moreover, LaSala Nelson (2005) states that
dress can reflect the individual s personality, but should not be distracting or too casual for the work
setting. In association with personal expression within the workplace, Spragley Francis (2006) argue
that nurses often say they want to be recognized for their knowledge, competence, and experience, not
for what they are wearing. To consider the creative of nursing apparel, the department or work
environment would be the best indicator of suitability. Perhaps, colors and patterns can be considered
appropriate in certain departments of nursing, such as pediatrics. According to Matziou et al. (2009),
studies report that the nurses uniform influences the children s mood and that of their parents,
especially in pediatric hospitals; furthermore, the uniform of the nurses should be specially designed
to be functional and representative of their role. Multicolored nurses uniforms are those most preferred
by both the children and their parents. For instance, cartoon characters worn on scrub attire may be
considered distracting, and inappropriate in medical units such as oncology. Albert et al. (2009) adds

Cesar Chavez Rhetorical Analysis
Cesar Chavez, a civil rights leader fighting for improving pay and working conditions of farmers,
employs the use of nonviolence resistance in his role as a leader of the United Farm Workers. As a
child, Chavez and his family worked as farmers on a field as migrant workers who were most likely
treated in an unjust manner and thus, he dedicated his life to improving the conditions for all farmers.
To honor Martin Luther King Jr. on the 10th anniversary of his death, Chavez wrote to a religious
magazine that helps people in need about the benefits of nonviolent resistance. Throughout his letter,
Chavez applies rhetorical devices such as pathos, diction, and juxtaposition to persuade and inform
people about how powerful and effective nonviolence techniques can be for civil rights.
Multiple times, throughout the text, Chavez uses pathos to appeal emotionally to his audience. Chavez
builds a connection and empathy with the readers and persuades them to be people who fight for
causes nonviolently. In the sixth paragraph Chaves states that, men and women who are truly
concerned about people are non violent by nature. These people become violent when the deep
concern they have for people is frustrated and when they are faced with seemingly insurmountable
odds. Chavez states that everyone who actually cares about people should be nonviolent, that they
shouldn t have to resort to violence because they don t need it. This quote builds a connection and
causes self reflection for the

Social Darwinism In The Mayor Of Casterbridge
Upon returning from his voyage, renowned scientist Charles Darwin published his findings on his
theory of survival of the fittest . He claimed that the most powerful ascend higher on the scale of
survival, whereas the disadvantaged and weak remain at the bottom. A few decades later, this concept
was adapted to apply to social, economic and political issues a term which later was coined as Social
Darwinism. This phenomenon was the basis for the explanation of why certain individuals accumulate
success and triumph over others. The theories of Darwin s work can be applied in literature as well,
especially in The Mayor of Casterbridge. In this case, the strength of an individual was dependent on
their reputation and social rankings. This placed females at a disadvantage, due to the patriarchal
standards and oppression, as well as those who were morally unjust and disliked throughout the
community, such as Henchard. Once engulfed in the classification as unfit , demise and suffering is no
longer a force that can be controlled and evaded by human actions. In his novel, The Mayor of
Casterbridge, Thomas Hardy applies the theories of Social Darwinism to prove that suffering is
inevitable among the morally and socially weak and disliked through the recurring symbolism of
animals, the unpredictable weather, and Lucetta s demise. The inclusion of various animals in Hardy s
novel serve a deeper purpose than as livestock in the agrarian society of Casterbridge; they are

Social Classes In Shel Silverstein s Lock
Class as a noun could be defined as a system of ordering a society in which people are divided into
sets based on perceived social or economic status. Any person you look at could be found within a

having to do everything and anything for yourself, but how belonging to these classes affect the way
you think and see the world? Two poems were presented to four individuals. The first individual is a

Titanic Informative Speech
Iceberg right ahead! These words foreshadow one of the sea s most tragic disasters of all time. The

questions and their answers only add to the mystery, grandeur, and sorrow of what will be forever

Human Nature And Development Of Personality
Adlerian Therapy
Liliana Salazar
University of North Texas at Dallas
Adlerian Therapy According to Maniacci and Jonhson Migalski (2013), Individual psychology
mandates that a person must be understood in the holistic, phenomenological, teleological way
(p.179). Adlerians believe heredity and environment influence but do not determine our behaviors.
Moreover, every person has to strive for power, and humans develop inferiority feelings as a
consequence. Therefore, they need to overcome those feelings (Croake, 1975). This paper explains
how the views of human personality as holistic can explain maladjustment in the client, Allen, a 34
year old male who experiences episodes of depression. The paper will explore Allen s personality and
the relationship between those past experiences and maladjustment.
Human Nature and Development of Personality Croake (1975) argued the human being is a whole, not
just parts. Then personality can only be expressed if we take into consideration all aspects of the
human being. Adler (1982) pointed out that human nature of personality explains how heredity and
environment cannot build an attitude related to life. Instead every person builds on individual
experience. He affirmed that humans couldn t be classified. Edgar (1996) explained the medical model
does not apply to every person because everyone is unique, and when science tries to explain human
mistakes by their genes we are categorizing human beings.

The Themes Of Love, And Narcissus
Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own. Robert A.
Heinlein, Stranger in a Strange Land. Love is not a singular adventure, it is a dangerous, perilous, and
scary adventure between two souls. Not only does love require another s happiness, but it also requires
teamwork and trust. Ancient Civilizations understood this concept. They wrote many legends and
myths about love. From the tale of Narcissus and Echo to the poem from Ovid s Metamorphoses
labeled, Story of Orpheus and Eurydice or the allegory of Baucis and Philemon, an underlying theme
can be found, love cannot work if there is not a team. Both Narcissus and Orpheus show the underside

  • 2. Metropolitan Police Service The Metropolitan Police Service covers the jurisdiction of Greater London within the United Kingdom over 1, 578km squared, with a population of 7.2 million people (MPS 2016). There is over 31, 000 officers employed within this service with 13, 000 police staff, 2,600 community support officers and roughly 5, 100 volunteers (MPS 2016). On the 1st of December 2009, The Metropolitan Police Service implemented the Diversity and Equality Strategy that correlates with The Equality Act 2010.The objectives of this strategy are to improve victim satisfaction (especially for those of minority groups), foster good community relations, decrease any unlawful discrimination or harassment and enhance equality opportunities between groups who share particular ... Not only this but Federal laws have already been introduced within Australia to criminalise any discrimination against ethnicity/race, age, disabilities and sexual orientation (Human Rights Action Plan 2016). This also shows that similar techniques to the Diversity and Equality Strategy have already been implanted within Australia. In New South Wales for example, there has been a focus on educating the public on bias crime and how to identify or report it, the implications of a bias crime and motivating people to report them so the police and government are able to get precise statistics of these crimes by utilising community efforts (NSW Police 2016). The objectives and forms of policing of the Metropolitan Police Service use and strategies within Australia are both similar culturally, socially and economically with ethnicities and challenges that arise as disgusted previously. Therefore, enhancing this education or adapting the Diversity and Equality Strategy to a national standpoint would be effective with positive impacts to establish national statistics and work with larger communities to reduce ... • 3. The World Of Sports Arenas Introduction In the world of sports arenas there is one that stands as a pivotal high point above almost all other stadiums. The University of Southern California s mammoth of a stadium, the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum is one of the biggest sports stadiums in college football, and has been a standard by which others are judge. Being declared a land mark by the state of California after nearly 80 years of use, this structure has had many different uses other than its current purpose of housing one of the most dominate teams in college football, the Trojans. Since its opening day the stadium has set world record in attendance and then beaten the same records hosting some of the most famous people in the world. (Coliseum History) Throughout the 92 years of the stadiums existences many changes have taken place and the facility has had to adapt to the new century. Advances in construction and design have allowed the Trojans to stay current and competitive with the new stadiums. One thing remains, and that is the fact that USC Trojan fans love the unique feel and history that has been made throughout the walls of the stadium. History of facility Erected in 1923 the Trojans did not waste time until the first footballs game was played. On October 6th the team faced off against Pomona College finding their first home victory in the new stadium. In the first opening game the Trojans played in front of a 12,836 people which was a relatively small number of people considering they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Nutrition Preference And Its Effect On Diet Preference Introduction: Every living thing has a diet preference, it just depends how wide or narrow those preferences are. Diet preference helps determine the genetic make up of an organism, you are what you eat . The appetite level of an organism can affect diet preference by allowing them to eat something they wouldn t normally eat. For this same reason, hydration levels of an organism may play a role in diet preference. Understanding diet preference in a species like humans may seem trivial but not for something like a house cricket. House crickets, Acheta domesticus are thought to be endemic to northwest Africa or southwest Asia (Weismann and Rentz 1977, Ghouri 1961). Currently this species has a near cosmopolitan distribution, and is typically associated with anthropogenic establishments. Females can be easily distinguished from males from their ovipositor, which allows them to lay eggs underground. Crickets are diet generalists and can feed on a variety of plants(revise). Currently there is little research on what effects hydration levels has on diet preference in crickets. If crickets are given a choice between kale and iceberg lettuce, crickets that are more dehydrated will visit iceberg lettuce over kale. Sex may play a factor in this as well. If sex has an effect on number of visits to kale and iceberg then we should see a difference in visits among males and females. Methods: 41 crickets, 17 males and 24 females that were obtained from the Petsmart store at El Con ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Procedural Culture When people say that an American political culture is procedural, they are referring to the concept of procedural guarantees, which states that the government should insure fair rules and processes that will work smoothly in order to treat everyone equally with no promise of a negative or positive outcome. On the contrary, when people say that an American political culture has an individualistic nature, they are referring to the concept of individualism, which states that what is good for society is based upon what is good for individuals. These two concepts can correlate and relate to the three core American values of democracy, equality, and freedom. Americans refer to democracy as representative democracy, where it is based on consent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This can be demonstrated in the Bill of Rights, which was implemented in order to persuade citizens that the federal government would respect their basic rights. Before the Bill of Rights was implemented into the Constitution, citizens did not have individual control over their basic rights, instead they were regulated by the government. This resulted in citizens questioning whether or not they should trust their current government because they feared it would control them as the British government did in the past. This is because the government did not take into consideration of what was beneficial for its citizens, which in turn resulted to a society that distrusted the government. In order to gain the trust of its citizens, the government decided to add the Bill of Rights to the Constitution. This would grant and protect citizens of their basic rights of freedom of speech, religion, assembly, and due process of law. This is an example of individualism because it demonstrates how the federal government took affirmative action in considering what was beneficial to its citizens, which in turn helped shape a good ... Supporting activities such as procurement, technology development, human resource management and firm infrastructure refer to all of the primary activities and will be discussed independently. 1.1 Primary Activities Inbound logistics A specific German characteristic of its supplier system is the so called Automotive Cluster. A cluster is a concentration of institutions and companies in a particular branch of industry within a particular area. Companies can highly benefit from this factor through sharing competences, short delivery times and close co operations. These are major influences on BMW s inbound logistics, meaning that most of its aspects, like storing and distributing, are outsourced to their suppliers. Two major clusters of BMW are Leipzig and the so called Automobildreieck (automotive triangular) which includes the cities Dingolfing/Landshut Regensburg Ingolstadt. • 10. Satire In Northanger Abbey Satire is a literary device used by writers typically to critique society or an individual. It can be done a variety of ways, including humor, irony, and ridicule. An example of a writer using satire to critique society would be Jane Austen s Northanger Abbey. Using a variety of techniques, Austen criticizes how society viewed novels and the people who write them by parodying common tropes in novels. Most novels just want to pull the reader in, and make them forget that they are reading a novel, but Austen does not allow this. The very first line in Northanger Abbey is No one who had ever seen Catherine Morland in her infancy, would have supposed her born to be a heroine (1). By pointing out that the main character is supposed to be the heroine, Austen draws attention to the fact that this is a novel. However, while Catherine is in fact a heroine, it is also states from the beginning that she does not match the expectations of the average heroine. So right from the beginning, the reader knows that while this is a novel, it is not going to be a typical one. It is in fact, going to parodying and critiquing some common aspects of novels. Austen continues on, and not so subtly points out the ways that Catherine differs from the heroines normally found in novels. For Catherine s ...situation in life, the character of her father and mother, her own person and disposition were all equally against her (Austen 1). She was fairly normal and did not have any of the commonly used characteristics of heroines working in her favor, despite being a heroine herself. Austen writes Catherine this was to parody the way women are written in novels. There normally has to be some catalyst that makes the heroine special, different than the average women. However, Catherine wasn t incredibly poor, had two well tempered parents, and preferred other hobbies ...to the more heroic enjoyments... (Austen 1) that heroines were normally fond of. By completely disregarding the characteristics normally attributed to heroines, Austen creates a character that would not fit into the normal novel. She essentially gives Catherine the character of someone who is almost the antithesis of what a heroine normally is, and by doing this critiques the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He provided an account of the operation of various individual substances in the universe. Importance Of Measuring Meridian Arcs Essay The completion of the survey of a great chain of first order triangulation s along the arc of the 30th meridian of east longitude, from South Africa to Egypt, is considered one of the most exceptional surveying feats to ever be executed in Africa and thus its history has interested geodetic surveyors throughout the world. This paper aims to expatiate on the importance of measuring meridian arcs, the need to establish a geodetic survey in a country or continent and subsequently will recount the sequence of events that led to the 75 year length completion of the African arc. The size and shape of the Earth have been of interest to man since the earliest of times, dating as far back to Eratosthenes in the third century. Throughout the years during the 18th and 19th century, geodesists were pre occupied with the task of devising a more accurate determination of the size and shape of the Earth. This led to the observing of necessary triangulations along arcs to determine the radius of the Earth and its degree of flattening (MacDonald, 2000). The African arc, conceived by Sir David Gill, Her Majesty s Astronomer at Cape Town, was created with the understanding that it would contribute immensely to the better knowledge of the form and dimensions on the Earth (Smith, 2006) therefore adding value to the advancement of geodesy. However, besides the need to determine more accurate dimensions for the Earth (Hendriks, 1955), there was a pressing need to establish a reliable and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. The Functionalist Perspective On Emotions According to the functionalist perspective on emotions, emotions are defined as an attempt by the individual to establish, maintain, change, or terminate the relation between the environment and the individual (Frijda, 1986). This approach is intrinsically relational and suggests that one cannot understand emotion without considering the individual within any given context. Thus, emotions are conceptualized as being flexible, contextually bound, and goal directed, and are critical for guiding interpersonal relations (Butler, Lee, Gross, 2007; Campos, Mumme, Kermoian, Campos, 1994). Emotional Development and Socialization Emotional development is the emergence of a child s experience, expression, understanding, and regulation of emotions. This developmental process begins in infancy and continues through late adolescence, with the most dramatic increase in skills often occurring during the transition from middle childhood to adolescence (von Salisch, 2001). Emotional development is strongly related with healthy psychological functioning, as research consistently supports the link between deficits in emotional competency and a variety of negative social and psychological outcomes such as increases in internalizing and externalizing symptomology (Garner Hinton, 2010; Perry Parish Zeman, 2011). • 24. Self Reliance By Ralph Waldo Emerson Summary Ralph Waldo Emerson, in his text, Self Reliance , persuades the audience to adopt individualism and have confidence in his or her thoughts and actions. His actions and beliefs are reflected through the Transcendentalist movement, found by him. Emerson aims to convince society that nonconformity will lead greatness rather than isolate him from it. He achieves this by using strategies such as personification, analogy, and allusion. Emerson immediately establishes a conflict in the beginning of the essay by personifying society as the enemy. In line ten, the author states, Society everywhere is in conspiracy against the manhood of every one of its members. In this conflict set up by Emerson, society is now the antagonist. Emerson deliberately distinguishes between the success of an individual and the success of an individual who relies on society and achieves what is needed which is seen in line five in which Emerson is saying, no kernel of nourishing corn can come to him but through his toil bestowed on that plot of ground which is given to him to till. A few lines down Emerson mentions society s members sharing bread to another. Emerson, in saying bread instead of corn and saying sharing, implies that society gives what is bare necessity to an individual however man himself will give himself more than what society offers. Society is actually taking away from its members instead of enhancing or improving their lives by asking its members to concur to surrender the liberty and culture of the individual. Emerson s intention of making society the enemy is to ultimately make nonconformity the enemy. By agreeing to society, the individual is conforming to society thus deviating from society is a better goal for an individual and leads them to distinction in society. Emerson employs analogy in his essay by comparing society to a joint stock company. In line twelve, Emerson says, society is a joint stock company, in which members agree, for the better securing of his bread to each shareholder... This comparison is implying that society s members think of the whole rather than that of the individual. Society seems to have a notion that they need to do good for all and in executing that thought they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. Essay On Chief s Magic Meta: Representing a brand new series and a brand new venture for Microgaming, the developer is showcasing Native American spirit in new game Chief s Magic! Chief s Magic Review Chief s Magic takes you back in time where the classic 3 reel slot machine ran wild, and uses Native American visuals to stand out from other similar titles in the genere. With a single payline being featured, along with three pre defined paytables, Chief s Magic is a very simple slot game experience without the usual wild icons and scatter symbols in the mix. With the availability of playing between 0.25 and 15 coins, this game has a top prize award that is 200x your wager for the matching of three chief icons, though this is available only at the highest bet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A wild symbol is not featured in this game, as it has only the payout feature that is reserved for the BAR logos, which can be assembled together to make a winning payline. With three single BAR logos you get a payout of 3x your wager, but three double BAR logos give you a payout of 5x your wager, and three triple BAR logos give a payout of 10x your wager, while mixing and matching combinations of the three can double your starting wager. For instance, two single BARs with a double BAR following is still a winning spin in Chief s Magic, though you would get the minimum winning payout. Nothing but a Dud Besides what has been highlighted before, there is not much to the game and we are stuck wondering why the icon with the game s highest value, the titular chief, is not featured as a substitute wild icon. Having only one payline, this won t have a massive effect to make it a must play for any players interested, but at the very least it would add some type of action and excitement. Putting it simply, Chief s Magic is a dud when it comes to bonus features. Looking for Brighter Fortunes This is probably not the best of Microgaming s releases, as it appears to not have power where it is most needed. There are greater games from Microgaming out there, with a few actually being a bit adventurous with their creativeness and themes. The video, The Motto illustrates that acquiring loads of cash and material possessions such as good looking low riders, fine women, and appealing jewelry are the sources of pleasure and happiness. I agree with Drake s interpretation of YOLO because in the United States, having money gives an individual access to anything and although the United States is a free country, money can give freedom and choices. The tradition of nursing attire has changed over the years. The history of nursing uniforms includes wearing solid white skirts, shoes, and white cap. These white garments typically signified nursing roles and differentiated nurses from other staff members. Common questions that arise within medical institutions includes: what are the advantages of implementing mandatory dress codes? Should nurses be required to wear traditional white uniforms? Should personal individuality be preserved? How will patient care be impacted? Regardless of the point of view, most positions tend to agree that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Is this self expression beneficial to our patients and our nurses? Personal self expression has lead to the assortment of styles seen in the nursing wardrobe; moreover, LaSala Nelson (2005) states that dress can reflect the individual s personality, but should not be distracting or too casual for the work setting. In association with personal expression within the workplace, Spragley Francis (2006) argue that nurses often say they want to be recognized for their knowledge, competence, and experience, not for what they are wearing. To consider the creative of nursing apparel, the department or work environment would be the best indicator of suitability. Perhaps, colors and patterns can be considered appropriate in certain departments of nursing, such as pediatrics. According to Matziou et al. (2009), studies report that the nurses uniform influences the children s mood and that of their parents, especially in pediatric hospitals; furthermore, the uniform of the nurses should be specially designed to be functional and representative of their role. Multicolored nurses uniforms are those most preferred by both the children and their parents. For instance, cartoon characters worn on scrub attire may be considered distracting, and inappropriate in medical units such as oncology. Albert et al. • 33. Cesar Chavez Rhetorical Analysis Cesar Chavez, a civil rights leader fighting for improving pay and working conditions of farmers, employs the use of nonviolence resistance in his role as a leader of the United Farm Workers. As a child, Chavez and his family worked as farmers on a field as migrant workers who were most likely treated in an unjust manner and thus, he dedicated his life to improving the conditions for all farmers. To honor Martin Luther King Jr. on the 10th anniversary of his death, Chavez wrote to a religious magazine that helps people in need about the benefits of nonviolent resistance. Throughout his letter, Chavez applies rhetorical devices such as pathos, diction, and juxtaposition to persuade and inform people about how powerful and effective nonviolence techniques can be for civil rights. Multiple times, throughout the text, Chavez uses pathos to appeal emotionally to his audience. Chavez builds a connection and empathy with the readers and persuades them to be people who fight for causes nonviolently. In the sixth paragraph Chaves states that, men and women who are truly concerned about people are non violent by nature. These people become violent when the deep concern they have for people is frustrated and when they are faced with seemingly insurmountable odds. Chavez states that everyone who actually cares about people should be nonviolent, that they shouldn t have to resort to violence because they don t need it. Wanting to please consumers and positing that I intend to start a small business, I would like to know the products that have the most current potential as well as promise potential in the future. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) will give me that information since it uses a basket of goods approach that compares the monetary base of products from year to year. There are really two presented CPI figures in the indicator: the CPI for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI W), the CPI for all Urban Consumers (CPI U) I would be interested in the latter. It has its food and energy prices deducted and are usually presented with seasonal adjustment since consumer patterns vary depending on the time of the year. • 35. Social Darwinism In The Mayor Of Casterbridge Upon returning from his voyage, renowned scientist Charles Darwin published his findings on his theory of survival of the fittest . He claimed that the most powerful ascend higher on the scale of survival, whereas the disadvantaged and weak remain at the bottom. A few decades later, this concept was adapted to apply to social, economic and political issues a term which later was coined as Social Darwinism. This phenomenon was the basis for the explanation of why certain individuals accumulate success and triumph over others. The theories of Darwin s work can be applied in literature as well, especially in The Mayor of Casterbridge. In this case, the strength of an individual was dependent on their reputation and social rankings. This placed females at a disadvantage, due to the patriarchal standards and oppression, as well as those who were morally unjust and disliked throughout the community, such as Henchard. Once engulfed in the classification as unfit , demise and suffering is no longer a force that can be controlled and evaded by human actions. In his novel, The Mayor of Casterbridge, Thomas Hardy applies the theories of Social Darwinism to prove that suffering is inevitable among the morally and socially weak and disliked through the recurring symbolism of animals, the unpredictable weather, and Lucetta s demise. The inclusion of various animals in Hardy s novel serve a deeper purpose than as livestock in the agrarian society of Casterbridge; they are symbolic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 38. Human Nature And Development Of Personality Adlerian Therapy Liliana Salazar University of North Texas at Dallas Adlerian Therapy According to Maniacci and Jonhson Migalski (2013), Individual psychology mandates that a person must be understood in the holistic, phenomenological, teleological way (p.179). Adlerians believe heredity and environment influence but do not determine our behaviors. Moreover, every person has to strive for power, and humans develop inferiority feelings as a consequence. Therefore, they need to overcome those feelings (Croake, 1975). This paper explains how the views of human personality as holistic can explain maladjustment in the client, Allen, a 34 year old male who experiences episodes of depression. The paper will explore Allen s personality and the relationship between those past experiences and maladjustment. Human Nature and Development of Personality Croake (1975) argued the human being is a whole, not just parts. Then personality can only be expressed if we take into consideration all aspects of the human being. Adler (1982) pointed out that human nature of personality explains how heredity and environment cannot build an attitude related to life. Instead every person builds on individual experience. He affirmed that humans couldn t be classified. Edgar (1996) explained the medical model does not apply to every person because everyone is unique, and when science tries to explain human mistakes by their genes we are categorizing human beings. Love is not a singular adventure, it is a dangerous, perilous, and scary adventure between two souls. Not only does love require another s happiness, but it also requires teamwork and trust. Ancient Civilizations understood this concept. They wrote many legends and myths about love. From the tale of Narcissus and Echo to the poem from Ovid s Metamorphoses labeled, Story of Orpheus and Eurydice or the allegory of Baucis and Philemon, an underlying theme can be found, love cannot work if there is not a team.
