Challenges Facing Canadian Organizations
Canada. They are the world s largest producer of newsprint, nickel, and asbestos. Montreal, Toronto,
and Vancouver are rated some of the best cities in the world. There is also Canadian Broadcasting
Corporation (CBC), which bring us Canadians radio and television broadcasts the news, music, and
entertainment. (Schwind, 2010, p. 3)
Even though Canada is a leader and a top competitor around the world in regards to business,
resources, talent, and innovation, there are still many challenges facing Canadian organizations. In this
paper I will discuss the many ways that Canada, from a business stand point and as whole, faces
challenges and what we as a country are doing to rise and succeed through these challenges. There are

Not only is there internet, many companies also have intranet, which are a private information
network within the company. The mix of telecommunicating and intranet increase communication and
information knowledge between members of an organization to also increase productivity. Automation
is the automatically controlled operation of a process, system, or equipment by mechanical or
electronic devices. The two major reasons for automation is speed and better service. In some capital
equipment items, Canada takes six to twelve months to make, where Japan takes six to twelve weeks.
(Schwind, 2010, p. 10) This is a major challenge that Canada must face. The service factor is
continuous. A machine is programed to do the same exact operation over and over to ensure quality
and effectiveness, where as a human might make an error on one or more areas of the operation.
Another challenge with technology and automation is cost. Machines are expensive and not all
companies can afford the high tech equipment, and therefore must rely on manual labour.
Demographic challenges include the changes associated with the labour force, such as education
levels, age, and participation levels which occur slowly and are usually known in advance. The
number of female workers in the workforce has greatly increased over the last three decades, and with
that so has the way organizations are ran. In the past the men worked and the women stayed home and
took care of the

The Credibility Of Media Analysis
In today s world, technology consumes the daily life of many citizens. With the availability of the
media at our very fingertips, we have become loyal to the media. Many people rely on the media for
the news and important information going on in the world, when at one point you could only find this
in the daily newspaper that was dropped off at your door every morning. There is an issue with relying
on the media for important information, and that is because they manipulate us. They make us believe
what they want and it s become almost a form of entertainment, similar to TMZ. Let s start off by
looking at CNN, which is popular for world news and politics. You would think that if they were
covering these important topics, then they would be reliable, but that is not the ... Show more content

A Syrian actor was used and effects were added into the video, in order to make it look realistic. The
actor, Danny, was saw in the video footage and asked to get the gunfire sounds ready, before his video
conference with Anderson Cooper. This goes to show that the media can manipulate us from our own
couches. Another recognizable name commonly releases information that they want us to read, which
is TIME Magazine. If you take a look at the cover of TIME Magazine in the US and those in other
countries you will see that our country tends to always have a different cover story, then everyone
else. TIME is one of the biggest news magazines there is and they can reach and influence a lot of
people in the United States. It seems as if some of the covers are chosen for political reasons, but in
the end it comes down to market research and wanting to increase their sales. Now that could be a
completely wrong assumption, but that is what the evidence leads to as well as censorship. Not only
are we manipulated by the TV news stations and magazines, but in the advertisements we see
everywhere. This is a popular topic of anger because many people are aware of the fact that companies

Dietary Analysis of Sympatric Mammalian Carnivores in the...
Resource partitioning occurs amongst animals that share the same resources, such as food and space
(Shoener 1974), and allows for their coexistence (May 1973). The different utilization of spatial,
temporal, and trophic niches between sympatric species allows for their partitioning of resources
(Jácomo et al. 2004). Difference in body mass is one of the factors that contribute to the coexistence of
species in that different sized animals will generally eat different sized food items, therefore utilizing
different resources and reducing competition (Wilson 1975; Jácomo et al. 2004). In the case of
predatory carnivores, as predator body mass increases, the size of their prey increases (Gittleman
1985; Vézina 1985). Differences in body ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The diets of the remaining mesocarnivores are relatively similar in that they all primarily prey on
small to medium sized lagomorphs and rodents, with fishers having an affinity for porcupines. The
remainder of the mesocarnivore diet consists of reptiles, birds, carrion, and with the exception of
bobcats, fruit and insects (Cavallini et al. 2009). In this study, the diets of these carnivores in
Keweenaw County will be analyzed to determine prey partitioning through scat analyses and the use
of scent stations. Specifically, the hypotheses tested will be that black bears will consume primarily
plant material, gray wolves will feed primarily on large ungulates, and amongst the mesocarnivores,
predator body mass will correlate with prey size. In particular, the larger coyotes and bobcats will feed
primarily on medium sized mammalian prey, such as snowshoe hares and cottontail rabbits, and the
smaller red foxes, fishers, and American martens will feed primarily on smaller prey, such as voles,
mice, and squirrels, along with porcupines in the fisher diet. Methods Study Area The 1,400 square
kilometer study area is Keweenaw County, located in Michigan s northwestern Upper Peninsula,
which comprises the very northern tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula jutting into southern Lake Superior
(Binford 2006; Fig. 1). A range of low mountainsrun parallel to the western coast of Keweenaw
County and form five ridges with intervening stream

The Fight For Women s Suffrage Movement
The Fight For Women s Suffrage
The Women s Suffrage Movement of the 1920 s worked to grant women the right to vote nationally,
thereby allowing women more political equality. Due to many industrial and social changes during the
early 19th century, many women were involved in social advocacy efforts, which eventually led them
to advocate for their own right to vote and take part in government agencies. Women have been an
integral part of society, working to help those in need, which then fueled a desire to advocate for their
own social and political equality. While many women worked tirelessly for the vote, many obstacles,
factions, and ultimately time would pass in order for women to see the vote on the national level. The
19th Amendment, providing women the right to vote, enable women further their pursuit for full
inclusion in the working of American society.
The Female Advocates
These influential women are most widely known suffragist of their generation and has become icons
of the women suffrage movement. These independent, bold, and intelligent female pioneers paved the
way for so many women different races, and nationalities to come together as one for a common
cause. These women are known today as idols, icons, and activists. Those women that took a stand
when no one else would be: Susan B. Anthony, Alice Paul, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Lucy Stone.
These women believed that all American women, just like men, deserve the rights and responsibilities
of citizenship.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Ha Long Bay
Ha Long Bay is located in the Gulf of Tulkin, Northern Vietnam. It is 165 km from the capital, Ha
Noi. It consists of over 16,000 limestone islands and islets which are uninhabited and untouched by
humans. Ha Long Bay is formed by Cat Ba island to the South, Ngoc Hung and Van Canh islands to
the East and the Vietnamese coastline to the North and West. Even though the bay stretches for
thousands of square kilometres, the UNESCO World Heritage sight is only 434 square kilometres.
Ha long bay is well known for its emerald green waters and towering limestone cliffs with thick
rainforest on top. It was made a world heritage sight in 1994 and is surprising, Vietnam number one

The management takes into account the requirements of the World Heritage convention,
recommendations from the world heritage committee and other regulation put in place by the
Vietnamese government. Social and economical activities on Halong Bay are regulated and effectively
managed. The provincial government have made regulations that UNESCO manage that help stop
illegal activity from happening to the beautiful bay. These regulation include: mud dredging, land
filling, fisherman and housing. These regulations are a smart way of making sure that the site is being
treated properly. The government provides for education and promotion of the area. Which is why that
Ha Long Bay is a number one tourist attraction. Although the government have lots of strategies to do
with the protection of Ha Long bay, they do not have any conservation ideas. Conservation is the
planned protection and preservation of a certain object. As Ha Long Bay is made mostly of limestone,
the erosion of the rocks will happen a lot faster and therefore will erode away into the sea or collapse
in a only a short amount of time. One managenent strategy is making the islands stronger by adding
rocks that don t erode such as granite to the base. Another is having a to pay a tax to set up a buisness
that involves tourism. Vietnam is still developing

Creatine And Athletic Performance
Abstract
As a physician and a healthcare provider I have not only a lawful but also an ethical obligation to
provide adequate medical and preventive care to my patients. If there are any available resources
outside of usual scope of curative and preventative medicine it is my duty to provide and suggest any
and all ideas. The proposed hypothesis of this paper is dietary supplements such as creatine improve
athletic performance, strength and endurance when incorporated with a strict regimen of proper diet
and exercise. This hypothesis was tested by the meticulous analysis and comparison of several related
recently published (no earlier than 10 years)journal articles all providing concrete data and evidence in

The study population seems to cause controversial results. The more athletic/leaner the individual (
professional athletes) the faster rate of your results than your everyday individual who eats healthy
and works out at least 3 times a week. Creatine supplementation seems to slope quickly initially and
then gradually peak (Bemben et al,2005). For instance in a creatine supplementation study of
collegiate football players versus red shirt collegiate football players, the creatine supplemented red
shirt collegiate football players had significant greater improvements in strength and anaerobic power
in comparison to the placebo and control group (Bemben et al,2005). The collegiate football players
who were active also showed significant strength increases but not at the proportion of red shirted
collegiate athletes (Bemben et al,2005). The obvious discrepancy can be linked to that college
experience of both groups (Bemben et al,2005) or the possibility that the red shirt collegiate athletes
had no prior creatine use (the study reported no usage for at least 4 weeks). Another factor to take into
consideration can be the dosage of creatine supplementation especially for football players who have
such a large body mass (Bemben et

The Supply Of Crude Oil
Internationally, the supply of crude oil has been elevated beyond demand leading to a subsequent
decrease in prices for the past few years. The price reduction of oil remained consistent and very low
until a few months ago when the oil market underwent scrutiny for its high level of output. Since then,
the price of oil has been extremely turbulent; experiencing record highs for the year, but following
with plummeting values the very next day. Many factors, internal and external to the United States,
account for the change in supply and demand of oil internationally and these factors will subsequently
cause the price of oil to decrease to 48 dollars from 50.
The United States faces many internal factors that influence oil supply, including the number of
suppliers and the confidence these suppliers have in the oil market. According to McFarlane of the
Wall Street Journal, the quantity of oil in the country is 5.4% higher than the same period last year and
31.5% above the five year average . The ultimate reason for any increase in supply, specifically the
increase she mentions, is due to higher output by oil suppliers. For example, within the last week the
number of oil rigs in the country has increased by 11, bringing the total number of oil producing
facilities to 443 (Jamerson, 2016). As mentioned before, oil prices have been turbulent in the market
and according to the article Oil Prices Down as Investors Skim Gains, the observed oil rig growth is
due to a surge in

Essay On Marshmallow Testing
Do your impulses affect your future? In 1968 an experiment was done trying to prove this very thing
called the Marshmallow test. This test would try and see how well a child can control their impulses
for sugary treats. The test went well and after many years they checked back on the children to see
how this little test is correlated to their high school test scores. Its results were quite stunning with
both the first test of the 60s and the second test in the 70s trying to see how to alter the results with
different variables
The first experiment started by bringing a group of children, about the age of four, and presenting
them with a simple option, they can either take the marshmallow at anytime or wait fifteen minutes
and get two marshmallows. Needless to say most kids took the first Marshmallow instead of waiting.
The average wait time was just a measly two minutes. It wasn t until their High school years that they
would check up on the kids they experimented with. The results showed that kids did ... Show more

Some say because they are so young it s hard to tell whether or not the marshmallow was a sufficient
driving point. There is also the huge variable of whether or not the kids are hungry or not. That could
ve been a big or the biggest factor against the experiment being false in its impulse based research.
The last thing is that it could all just be a coincidence but that is highly unlikely. So it may be wrong in
its endeavors to prove how willpower and impulse affect us.
In summary, the marshmallow test is very influential and well thought out experiment. It tries to prove
the idea of willpower and that had never gotten any attention from science until that point and now it s
one of the leading experiments on willpower to this day. Whether or not the concern with odd
variables affecting the test are true, you cannot deny the fact that willpower and our impulse help

Everyone has been there before. You re walking in public, whether it be in a school setting, a

Whether it is your dabblings in romance, performance in sports events, clothing, or otherwise, we feel
the need to compare ourselves to and identify with the societal norms around us. It is better to thrive
as a sheep than to starve as a wolf, as the saying goes. This is what is known as conformity and it has

Characteristics Of Shakespearean Tragedy
2. SHAKESPEAREAN TRAGEDY
Shakespearean tragedy is the title given to most tragedies written by the playwright William
Shakespeare. Shakespearean tragedy began, roughly speaking, with marked indebtedness to the tragic
writing of Marlowe and Kyd: poetry, character, and style from Marlowe; motive, plot, and tragic
intensity from Kyd. No evidence suggests Shakespeare was ever particularly aware of or influenced
by, Aristotelian theories of tragedy . (Bevington, 1980) The plays we usually have in mind when we
think about Shakespearean tragedy are the classics like Titus Andronicus (written between 1590 94),
Romeo and Juliet (1594 96), Julius Caesar (1599), Hamlet (1599 1601), Othello (1603 04), King Lear
(1605), Macbeth (1606 07), Antony and Cleopatra (1606 07), and Coriolanus (1608) derived from
Plutarch. Troilus and Cressida, Timon of Athens, and Cymbeline were listed as tragedies in the First
Folio. Characteristics of a Shakespearean tragedy are found in many of his histories, but since they are
from real figures throughout England s history, they were classified as histories in the First Folio.
Exceptions from this are the Roman histories, also from historical figures: Julius Caesar, Antony and
Cleopatra, and Coriolanus. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

man responsible for his tragic fate? (Bevington, 1980) The psychological aspect in his tragedies is
impressive. I think the most impressive thing is that even after more than 400 years we can still study

Justice What s The Right To Do Analysis
In the book, Justice What s The Right To Do by Michael Sandel. Michael Sandel brings up the free
market and asks those reading whether or not the free market is fair. He asks if we should be able to
sell anything we have on our body to sell, or that we shouldn t due to moral reasons such as selling
body parts, or sex. Why is it that donating a kidney is looked at with with praise while some argue
selling your kidney is seen as morally wrong, Is selling body parts or even sex for payment unethical
or ethical, at what point do we cross the line between immoral and moral. I agree, though with some
reservations. For instance only allow the selling of certain body parts if the body is born with a pair of
it for instance kidneys. Both kidneys are healthy and you can spare one without damaging your own
health. Even liver transplants won t damage your health as the liver heals fairly quickly and leaves
nothing but a scar, bone marrow transplants are also safe since bone marrow and liver are
regenerative. Selling of body parts would need to be heavily regulated to protect the health of the
donor and the receiver, the government must regulate this heavily and determine a reasonable
compensation for the donor. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Flat Tax Vs. The Progressive Tax System
When comparing the benefits and issues between the flat tax and the progressive tax, it is important to
understand the way these two systems operate in today s economy. The flat tax can be defined as a tax
that requires every individual to pay the same rate of deduction regardless of their income. On the
other hand, a progressive tax can be defined as a tax where the tax rate is increased based on the
income a person earn. This system is operated through the use of tax brackets, where the levels of
income are divided into different ranges with each range having a tax rate more significant than the
range below it. Furthermore, when evaluating the efficiency of both of these tax systems, one may
discover that the progressive tax system provides several different factors that contribute to the
efficiency of the economy in United States. The progressive tax system enables the government to
fund services that meet the crucial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the conflicts that people may argue toward this system is that it may discourage people from
earning more income because their higher income may be taxed at a higher rate. For instance, since
any head of the household who earns an income between $13,250 to $50,400 is taxed at the rate of
%15, they may lose more of their savings when compared to the tax bracket below them, which taxes
5% less. Therefore, people may consider maintaining their income at anywhere below $13,250 to
avoid having it taxed a higher rate. In addition, some may also argue that this system fails to
encourage people to invest in businesses because of the significant rates the government may tax on
their additional profit and the initial opening of their establishment. This leads to a form of
socioeconomic inequality between those who can afford to pay the tax on opening a business and
those who can only afford to invest in purchasing a

Assessment Of An Organizational Leader
Assessment of an Organizational Leader It is not uncommon for individuals in a private corporation or
in a state public sector organization to associate leadership concepts with the top brass in today s
military. Individuals will make the assumption that if someone obtains a certain rank in the military
then that person must possess the skills and qualities of an all encompassing leader who can
successfully lead the most complex of organizations. Such assumptions, however, do not consider that
the modern military does not work in this manner and leadership is much more complex. Since 2003,
the Army has fired 129 of its top leaders while who were commanding either a battalion or a brigade
(Tan, 2015). The military is in fact limited and without external resources for leadership and without
exception operates in an environment that grooms and grows its leaders from the bottom up. This
limits the ability of all of the armed forces, including the United States Army, in allocating good
leaders when at the top tier of the organization. Basic Organizational Structure of Today s Military
Today s Army typically has a hierarchy of organizations that funnel tasks and information from the
highest levels of government to the individual Soldier on the ground. The different levels within the
hierarchy are headed by an officer. The hierarchy begins at the initial leadership level with a platoon
sized element that is often lead by a service member who is either a second or first

Retrospective Analysis Anthropology
Anthropological analyses always starts with a question, and, in regards to Mythology, majority of the
questions are asked in retrospect. This retrospective analysis is a very scientific and alienating way of
approaching myth a cultural component who s roots are planted in a deeply social and emotional
practices. Years of inquiry and speculation have resulted in anthropologists coming up with numerous
methodologies and practices to explain exactly how one needs to approach the study of myth thats
best reveals its function. Most of the methods are broken down and explained in a series of steps,

Right away this assertion distances Malinowski and the culture he belongs to from myth. His method
of studying myth is more complex than Rooth s. Rooth s paper presents and breaks down all variations
of the creation myth in North America. After laying out the eight different types of the creation myth,
Rooth concludes, myth has geographical boundaries . Malinowski tries to justify his claim that myth
can help us understand the behaviors and customs of the people who tell them. Right at the beginning
of his essay he makes a comparison that puts forth the idea that when a society becomes civilized and
more developed, religion usurps mythology: this myth is to the savage what, to a fully believing
Christian, is the Biblical story of Creation... (Malinowski). Malinowski refers to primitive cultures as
savage because they think about myth in religious terms. He tries to separate from mythology by
calling myth a pragmatic charter and by dwelling mentally for sometime among people of much
simpler culture than our own, we maybe able to see ourselves from a distance (Malinowski). Calling
myth charter he imposes the socioeconomic concerns of Europe at the time on primitive myth and
implies that it can only exist to validate custom and institution myth for Malinowski will always state

Fall Choir Concert Analysis
I am not afraid to admit that I talk to my mother on the phone every day. Naturally, I told her that I

surprised by her own rendition of Rabbit of Seville, but she also sent me the video of Bugs Bunny
himself belting out the silly ditty. If one is not already aware, Rabbit of Seville, is a short animation bit
released by Warner Bros. In the scene, Bugs Bunny lures Elmer Fudd (everyone s favorite hunter with
a speech impediment) onto a stage. The curtains rise and he aggressively cuts Fudd s hair while
performing a mock melody from the overture of the opera buffa The Barber of Seville by Gioachino
Rossini. The clip reminded me of many Looney Tunes favorites from my childhood and I laughed just
as gleefully as I did back then. Before I knew it, my expectations for the concert had been set, and

Prior to tonight, I had never been inside Reynolds Recital Hall let alone Howard Hall. On the night of
the concert, it was packed if not sold out. The stage was bathed in blue in the background the harsh
gels glared like a cloudless sky on a hot day. Center stage held a grand piano, but the intensity of the

Environmental Challenges Facing American Auto Industry Essay
Environmental challenges facing American Auto industry
Introduction
The first gasoline powered automobile was built 1885 in Germany. The first car was engineered by
Henry Ford in 1896. He took things a notch higher by establishing an assembly line which enabled
him to mass produce the vehicles thus making them affordable to the consumers.
The use of automobiles has since increased in the US and other parts of the world. By 1999, the US
alone had over 200 million passenger cars and light trucks. The number of cars worldwide grew thrice
faster than the human population. The increase in the number of automobiles has become a matter of
great concern as it leads to serious air pollution. For instance, European Environment Agency reported
that transportation emission presents a huge threat to the environment.
Global competition in the industry:
During the first half of this century, automobile imports were negligible on American roads. For
instance in 1950s, only 21,287 automobiles were imported and local manufacturers ignored their
presence in the belief that the imports were small and low quality. However, foreign automobiles have
since set the quality benchmark and in 1986 reached an all time high of 4.1 million units. In 1980s the
big three auto makers (Ford, General Motors, and Fiat/Chrysler) formed joint ventures with Japanese
automakers in order to capitalize on consumer attitude towards foreign automobiles. In 2004, the
automobile manufacturers formed the

Carney And Rosomoff s The Shadow Of Slavery
Carney and Rosomoff s In the Shadow of Slavery is a historical account of the role foodstuff, both
botanical and animal, from Africa played in the Columbian Exchange. The book begins by discussing
Africa s agricultural history and trade with the Old World. It continues with the need for food during
the Atlantic slave trade, how African plants came to the New World, and who was responsible for the
planting and care of African plants. Carney and Rosomoff deal primarily with the time period in which
the Atlantic slave trade occurred, though they do discuss African agricultural history as far back as
10,500 B. P. They focus on the Columbian exchange on the West Coast of Africa and Latin America.
The point Carney and Rosomoff are trying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The expansion of Islam allowed for the spread of item like coffee and sorghum the Middle East as
well as Muslim Spain. African plants like finger millet, tamarind, okra, and castor beans made their
way to South Asia via two trade routes, one connecting the Ethiopian Highlands and the Horn of
Africa and the other connecting the East African Highlands to Zanj. (Carney, 33) The banana, of
Southeast Asian origin, arrived in Africa and became a food staple in African farming.
African foods were vital to the support and continuation of the African slave trade. The slave trade
created an incredible demand for food both on the West coast of Africa and on the slave ships bound
for the Americas. Slaves had to be fed from the time they were captured to the time they arrived at the
destination. The food brought from Europe was not suitable for the conditions in tropical Africa. The
food necessary to provide for the enslaved, this included plants and live animals, on board the ships
was grown and bought in Africa. Significantly, locations of known food supplies along the coast came
to be identified by the food available in that location, for example the Rice Coast. The rise in demand
for slaves caused the populations of slaves and traders along the West coast of Africa to grow, which
increased the demand for food.

A True War Story In Tim OBrien s The Things They Carried
Only the dead have seen the end of war unknown. In Tim O Brien s The Things They Carried, he tells
us what a true war story is. Throughout chapter 7, he writes what he believes is a true war story. It s
through evil, disbelief, embarrassment, and hidden meanings in Mary Anne s trip to Vietnam that we
know what a true war story is. The Sweetheart of the Song Tra Bong is a perfect example of a true war
story. In a war, nothing ever hangs onto the good; it always grabs on to the evil.
Rat Kiley said, At the girl s throat was a necklace of human tongues. Elongated and narrow, like
pieces of blackened leather, the tongues were threaded along a length of copper wire, one tongue
overlapping the next, the tips curled upward as if caught in a final shrill syllable (105 106).
A young girl with a tongue necklace isn t the thing someone would expect to see from her. It s obscene
behavior for a girl, especially in this time period. Many people eat animal tongues; it isn t seen as
weird behavior, but Mary Anne wears them. The aspect of the human tongues makes it wicked and
vile. O Brien wrote, And then one morning, all alone, Mary Anne walked off into the mountains and
did not come back. No body was ever found (110). Mary Anne became one with Vietnam during the
time she was there. Eventually she blended in with the landscape and felt at home with it. Not often do

The Federalist Paper By James Madison
The Federalist Papers were 85 essays that were published in 1787 and 1788. They were anonymous
and always signed by Publius. Publius was actually 3 men, Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and
John Jay. They wrote the papers to convince the people of New York to vote to ratify the Constitution.
These essays were published in newspapers throughout the state of New York. Federalist 10 was
written by James Madison and was titled The Utility of the Union as a Safeguard Against Domestic
Faction and Insurrection (continued). This essay was a continuation of Federalist 9. Federalists like
James Madison and Alexander Hamilton thought that if the states continued to maintain complete
control, each state would become its own nation, which would leave the U.S. bankrupt. They believe
that a strong central government would have the ability to stop this from occurring. Factions were
James Madison s worst fear. Madison believed that factions were what were going to keep states
divided and more likely to turn to individual nations. James Madison s opinions are correct. As
defined by Madison, a faction is a group of people, whether a majority or minority, who come together
by some common impulse of passion, or of interest adverse to the rights of other citizens, or to the
permanent and aggregate interests of the community. Not all political groups are factions, though most
are. While they are rare, there are political groups out there that are made up of people with all

Blanche Dubois Character Traits
Mr. Tim Kelley
ENG 272
10 Nov 2015
Character Analysis of Blanche DuBoise In the play A Streetcar Named Desire, Tennessee Williams
portrays Blanch DuBoise as the character who suffers inner struggles all through her life. She is a
fallen woman in the eyes of society. She would prefer to live in her own imagination. Her name is
befitting for her in that she acts more as a woman of the night she would rather be out at night or in the
dim lights. She is a southern woman on all counts who lives in Laurel, Mississippi. Her life has been
full of disappointments, death, and sexual propriety. Through her misfortunes, she becomes more
unstable. She wants to create a life within her life to cope with all the stresses of her reality. Blanche is
unable to find an escape from herself. She finds herself as a victim at the hands of her sister s husband.
Blanche hopes for new beginnings when she leaves Belle Reve from which she has been evicted. She
moves to New Orleans to be with Stella, her sister, and her husband Stanley. Leonard Berkman pities
her and views her as a misunderstood character, a tragic figure trying to start a new life for herself in
New Orleans (34). As much as she tries, she can never fully gain peace. The name Williams chose for
her character causes some speculations and opposition among critics. There are those who see it as a
name of purity, but others think Williams is trying to play with the critics. Critic Nicholas Pagan
suggests that Blanche

Life In Christianity Vs. The Afterlife Of Christianity
Heaven preached in the Bible is considered paradise, with streets of gold and mansions built for
everyone who resides there. This place is as easy to get to as hell, all one has to do is ask Jesus into
their hearts and lives, but living life as a Christian is very difficult yet rewarding. Christians are
always prosecuted and in certain parts of the world, Christianity is forbidden and if found out could
result in execution. Nevertheless, dying as a martyr in the name of the lord is of the highest reward. So
the afterlife of Christianity is very much different compared to the afterlife of Hinduism because in
Christianity there is no reincarnation, and only one heaven and hell, and good works cannot get you to
heaven, only admitting that you re a sinner and repenting of your sins, and accepting Jesus will can
ultimately give you everlasting life in Heaven. Life as a nonbeliever is a sure way to get you to hell,
which is what many believers fear. If you follow the Lord s word, repent of your sins, and accept Jesus
into your heart, you will make it to the promise from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The LBC Play
The LBC event I attended this weekend was, the play The Boy Who Loved Monsters and The Girl

Sponberg Theatre. My reflective essay is about my experience with this play and comparing it with
things I have experienced in life so far. Throughout the many different aspects of life, such as, school,
family, friends and etc. Although it was for the younger audience there were some points throughout,
that made a lot of sense to the more adult crowd.
When I first heard the play I figured it was obviously centered around the title, but I was hoping for a
little more to it. Once I read the description and it stated a family friendly play for children 4+, I knew
I had to be in for some kind of treat. I figured I was going to be the only college student attending this

A Comparison of Realism in Uncle Vanya and A Doll s House...
Realism in Uncle Vanya and A Doll s House
A play serves as the author s tool for critiquing society. One rarely encounters the ability to transcend
accepted social beliefs. These plays reflect controversial issues that the audience can relate to because
they interact in the same situations every day. As late nineteenth century playwrights point out the
flaws of mankind they also provide an answer to the controversy. Unknowingly the hero or heroine
solves the problem at the end of the play and indirectly sends a message to the audience on how to
solve their own problem.

Write An Essay On Pia And Eating Disorders
Eating disorders are a serious mental illness, not a choice or lifestyle preference. Everyone has their
daily battles and life struggles, some more distressing than others and some severe, like Pica disorder.
Pica is an eating disorder when people have an abnormal appetite and consume nonnutritive
substances including dirt, stones, hair, feces, lead, light bulbs, and much more. Because individuals
suffering with Pica are driven to eat unconceivable things, this disorder commonly leads to many
medical issues. Many doctors believe Pica to be a derivative of some mental ailment but there are
other factors that can lead to this disorder. Thus, Pica disorder is caused by a combination of
psychological, environmental, and biochemical factors. There are many health risks and complications

close guidance of children known to put things in their mouths may help catch the disorder before
complications can occur. Currently, there are no medical treatments specifically for Pica but
behavioral strategies are considered the most effected treatment. Multidisciplinary methods with
physicians, psychologists, and social workers are suggested for successful treatment. Some behavioral

Big Nurse Ratched Quotes
Nurse Ratched, known as Big Nurse is the head nurse in the asylum and her role is to keep order and
control in the ward. She is a master of manipulation. In the passage on page 55, the metaphor referring
to the therapy meeting as bunch of chickens at a peckin party uses an animal motif to further
emphasize the inhuman way Big Nurse retains control. The alliteration peckin party and blood and
bones (Kesey, 55) underscores the seriousness of the meeting. Harding is the chicken in this peckin
party and Big Nurse is the one who takes the first peck. Adding amplification to McMurphy s analogy,

The peckin party is a way to keep order by singling out and humiliating the individual until they have

are Peckin Parties, Our dear Miss Ratched? Our sweet, smiling, tender angel of mercy, Mother
Ratched, a ball cutter? Why, friend, that s most unlikely (57). Miss Ratched s job is to keep order in
the ward at all costs. She does not act out of pure obligation to do her job well, but enforces her
authority even at the expense of the patient s progress. Miss Ratched s treatment of Billy is proof of
how she casts aside patient s advancement and wellbeing to ensure strict adherence to the rules. Billy
desires to live a normal life but Miss Ratched squashes his dreams and keeps him under her thumb.
Sadly, when McMurphy schemes to give Billy a real sexual encounter, he gets caught. Even though

The Importance Of Human Factor In Health
Human factor explores the potential and limitation of an individual in their workplace to ensure safety,
effectiveness and quality. Human factor or ergonomics plays a vital role to control patient safety and
quality in the intensive care unit (ICU) as it contributes to adverse events. By acknowledging human
factor and its impact on quality and safety in health care, nurses along with other health care
professionals will be able to create a safer environment for practice and a productive workforce. This
paper intends to identify human factor in health care and establish their correlation with quality and
patient safety. To begin with, this paper has divided human factor into physical, cognitive and
organizational and examines their relationship to quality and patient safety in intensive care unit. In
the intensive care unit, every plan and action of all the health care team such as doctors, nurses,
nursing supervisor, anesthesiologist and interns can be a factor to determine a life or death situation, as
all the patient are in a critical and physically vulnerable condition. It is very crucial to take factor that
influence patient safety and quality of care into consideration, especially human factor and ergonomics
in order to have better patient outcome and improve recovery; clinicians, leaders and management
should be able to acknowledge this (Carayon et al., 2013; Gurses et al.,2012b; Institute of Medicine,

The Case Of Brinegar V. United States
1.Probable cause is a set of facts surrounding a specific circumstances that leads a reasonable person
to believe an individual is committing, has committed or is about to commit a crime. Probable cause is
required in the instances of an arrest, search and seizure and the issuance of a warrant. To
ESTABILISH reasonable cause the officer can use any trustworthy information. For example the
office could use his/her experience, informant information, first hand observations or knowledge,
victim reports, anonymous tips, or hearsay.
In the case of Brinegar v. United States, the petitioner claimed that the arresting officer violated his
4th amendment rights and illegally search his car. In the search and siezure the officer found that the
petitioner was transporting intoxicating liquor into Oaklahoma, which is a direct violation of law. The
courts found that the arresting office had arrested the petitioner on the same violation several months
earlier and this was enough reasonable cause to conduct the search ans seizure.
Reasonable suspicion is different from probable cause as reasonable suspicion allows an officer to
temporarily detain a person if the officer suspects the person of committing a crime, previously
committed a crime, or is about to commit a crime. This will allow the officer the time to conduct an
investigation that may allow him/her to find the facts that are required to arrest per probable cause.
Therefore, reasonable suspicion is thought of to be a hunch

The Salt Satyagrah Strengths And Weaknesses
The Salt Satyagraha: Strengths and Weaknesses
On 12 March 1930, Gandhi started a historic march to Dandi known as the Salt Satyagraha. It was an
act of Civil Disobedience Movement against the British tax law in India. Gandhi and 78 satyagrahis
(volunteers) walked for 24 days. On the way to Dandi, they were able to reach 40 villages and towns
where about 50,000 people heard their messages. Gandhi broke the salt law on 6 April 1930, and
millions of people throughout India followed the act. The entire country became conscious of the

1. Strong Leading Figure
A leader plays an important role in a campaign. There are at least four important roles that a leader
must play. These roles are a thinker, communicator, decision maker and team builder. A leader must
have a vision. He sets a clear goal for the campaign. He provides direction, instruction and guidance in
achieving that goal. A leader also has to be a good communicator. He should understand the nature of
the campaign and all of the related stakeholders. He tailors the message accordingly in order to
influence his audience.
The success of a campaign mostly relies on its leader s knowledge and experience. A leader analyses
information and resources available. He makes important decisions, such as choosing the best tactics
to implement the campaign. Moreover, a leader should be a successful team builder. He builds a solid
internal team first, then reach further support from a larger crowds. In addition, a good leader should
involve directly in the campaign, working together with his team and supporters.
The Salt Satyagraha relied much on Gandhi s strong leadership. Gandhi set a goal for the campaign: to
build the sense of independence (Swaraj) in the heart of every Indians. In order to reach that goal,
Gandhi chose salt as a symbol. Gandhi argued that there was an indispensable need for salt besides air

for their religious beliefs and cultural practices. Greek myths consist of gods and goddesses, which
obtain unique superpowers that permit them to control nature in all of its forms. Furthermore, ancient
mythology has inspired contemporary culture by linking similar characteristics to new characters and
improved stories. Modern day society has reimagined mythology through superheroes that save the
world from villains and crime. Some superheroes have special powers either from birth or from
scientific experiments, while others become heroes by training and with the help of modern
technology; however, these modifications do not disregard the fact that modern folklore developed
from ancient tales. For instance, Batman is the modern interpretation of Achilles because they are an
archetype, share several characteristics, and demonstrate the evolution of mythology.
To start off, Batman is a modernized version of Achilles. In other words, the Batman character serves
as an archetype of Greek mythological hero, Achilles. According to Literary Devices, An archetype,

The Importance Of Doing Business In Iraq
Doing business in Iraq
The business model, into this age of information, has integrated itself with many cultures. One of the
results of this globalization is development and research into international business and work related
culture. In a recent paper by Mooij Hofstede (2010), it found focus on researching and investigating
culture is becoming more popular. Looking at the exponential growth and influence of international,
more International Managers are becoming aware of the impact and importance of national culture on
organizational culture.

It dictates what we pay attention to, how we act and what we value. As a result, many sociologists and
anthropologists argue that it is easier for them to explain the culture rather than to define it (Hofstede,

Power distance
According to Hofstede s work, there is a high power distance index. This means the distance between
people in different positions of power is very large. There is inequality in their power distribution and
the Iraqi people accept the inequality. Here, people in higher positions would not even consider
delegation of work to people in a lower organizational position.
Individualism
The findings also found that the collectivistic nature of their country. Here individuals within the
organization only pursue their goals after consideration of the company or the group. In addittion,
Iraqis accept their place in society and there is no need for justification of your position. They live to
work and they maintain rigid codes of belief and behaviour and are intolerant of unorthodox behaviour
and ideas.
Uncertainty Avoidance
Iraq scores high in Power Distance, Masculinity, and Uncertainty Avoidance. These are the most
common scores of underdeveloped countries, both psychologically and within society. This high score

Ideology behind the Film Spirited Away
Ideology is attitudes, beliefs, perceptions that commonly shared by the people in society. It is mostly
unconscious and it appears in everyday human s daily lives. Cinema is one of the medium that people
can be exposed. Therefore the ideology in film takes a powerful role that shapes aspects of people s
beliefs. When it comes to a film, people who watch the film receive a message from it whether that
message is explicit or not. Ideology can be most receptive and powerful when it is exposed to the
audience when they are enjoying the film and are unaware of it (Edgar Hunt, Marland and Rawle 96).
In Spirited Away, the movie sends out many aspects of ideology in Japanese society. This essay is
going to be focusing on two particular aspects which are Shinto beliefs and human versus nature.
In Asian culture, people usually give priority to the religion. Shinto was the state religion of Japan in
the past. Shinto means Kami Way in Japanese. Kami is term to describe sacred spirits, or something
that possesses superior power (Earheart 6). Japanese people believe that there are spirits in everything.
All beings can be called Kami such as river, woods, or even human beings (Ono and Woodard 6).
Japan has been called a land of Kami. They regard Kami as an object of worship in Shinto religion.
Throughout the film, it can be seen that many elements of Shinto aspect is subtly embed. Just the
name of this movie Spirited Away tells a lot about the beliefs of Japanese toward the supernatural

The Sexualization Of Women s Status
Sexualization of women in the media, be it as a marketing front for products or props in movies and
music videos, serves to diminish women s status in society. Though women are universally exploited
by the media, in North America women are depicted differently based on race. However, these
depictions are polarized between women of colour, to be precise black women, and white women.
When juxtaposed, white women appear as demure and black women as sexually aggressive. Mass
media s portrayal of black women is not a unique phenomenon. In fact, from the time of slavery black
women s bodies entice white men s darkest fantasies. This is clearly seen in the legacy of Saartijie
Baartman. Baartman was a spectacle for the white woman and man s gaze. She was violently
objectified, fetishized, and commodified during the 1600 s. Her legacy is important to African
Diasporic women because society still misuses the black female body. Black women are still
hypersexualized in society because they are viewed to have bigger butts, hips, breast, and lips that are
not only condemned as abnormal like Saartijie Baartman but seen as uncontrollable and animalistic.
Therefore, black women s bodies have been conditioned to represent a sexual deviance. The sexual
representations of black women in the media dehumanizes them, which, in turn, reduces their worth
and normalizes the objectification of black women. Black women are vilified in the media through the
black jezebel stereotype, which entails being

Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver are rated some of the best cities in the world. There is also Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), which bring us Canadians radio and television broadcasts the news, music, and entertainment. (Schwind, 2010, p. 3) Even though Canada is a leader and a top competitor around the world in regards to business, resources, talent, and innovation, there are still many challenges facing Canadian organizations. In this paper I will discuss the many ways that Canada, from a business stand point and as whole, faces challenges and what we as a country are doing to rise and succeed through these challenges. The mix of telecommunicating and intranet increase communication and information knowledge between members of an organization to also increase productivity. Automation is the automatically controlled operation of a process, system, or equipment by mechanical or electronic devices. The two major reasons for automation is speed and better service. In some capital equipment items, Canada takes six to twelve months to make, where Japan takes six to twelve weeks. (Schwind, 2010, p. 10) This is a major challenge that Canada must face. The service factor is continuous. A machine is programed to do the same exact operation over and over to ensure quality and effectiveness, where as a human might make an error on one or more areas of the operation. Another challenge with technology and automation is cost. Machines are expensive and not all companies can afford the high tech equipment, and therefore must rely on manual labour. Demographic challenges include the changes associated with the labour force, such as education levels, age, and participation levels which occur slowly and are usually known in advance. The number of female workers in the workforce has greatly increased over the last three decades, and with that so has the way organizations are ran. With the availability of the media at our very fingertips, we have become loyal to the media. Many people rely on the media for the news and important information going on in the world, when at one point you could only find this in the daily newspaper that was dropped off at your door every morning. There is an issue with relying on the media for important information, and that is because they manipulate us. They make us believe what they want and it s become almost a form of entertainment, similar to TMZ. Let s start off by looking at CNN, which is popular for world news and politics. It seems as if some of the covers are chosen for political reasons, but in the end it comes down to market research and wanting to increase their sales. Now that could be a completely wrong assumption, but that is what the evidence leads to as well as censorship. • 4. Dietary Analysis of Sympatric Mammalian Carnivores in the... Resource partitioning occurs amongst animals that share the same resources, such as food and space (Shoener 1974), and allows for their coexistence (May 1973). The different utilization of spatial, temporal, and trophic niches between sympatric species allows for their partitioning of resources (Jácomo et al. 2004). Difference in body mass is one of the factors that contribute to the coexistence of species in that different sized animals will generally eat different sized food items, therefore utilizing different resources and reducing competition (Wilson 1975; Jácomo et al. 2004). In the case of predatory carnivores, as predator body mass increases, the size of their prey increases (Gittleman 1985; Vézina 1985). Differences in body ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The diets of the remaining mesocarnivores are relatively similar in that they all primarily prey on small to medium sized lagomorphs and rodents, with fishers having an affinity for porcupines. The remainder of the mesocarnivore diet consists of reptiles, birds, carrion, and with the exception of bobcats, fruit and insects (Cavallini et al. 2009). In this study, the diets of these carnivores in Keweenaw County will be analyzed to determine prey partitioning through scat analyses and the use of scent stations. Specifically, the hypotheses tested will be that black bears will consume primarily plant material, gray wolves will feed primarily on large ungulates, and amongst the mesocarnivores, predator body mass will correlate with prey size. In particular, the larger coyotes and bobcats will feed primarily on medium sized mammalian prey, such as snowshoe hares and cottontail rabbits, and the smaller red foxes, fishers, and American martens will feed primarily on smaller prey, such as voles, mice, and squirrels, along with porcupines in the fisher diet. Methods Study Area The 1,400 square kilometer study area is Keweenaw County, located in Michigan s northwestern Upper Peninsula, which comprises the very northern tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula jutting into southern Lake Superior (Binford 2006; Fig. 1). • 5. The Fight For Women s Suffrage Movement The Fight For Women s Suffrage The Women s Suffrage Movement of the 1920 s worked to grant women the right to vote nationally, thereby allowing women more political equality. Due to many industrial and social changes during the early 19th century, many women were involved in social advocacy efforts, which eventually led them to advocate for their own right to vote and take part in government agencies. Women have been an integral part of society, working to help those in need, which then fueled a desire to advocate for their own social and political equality. While many women worked tirelessly for the vote, many obstacles, factions, and ultimately time would pass in order for women to see the vote on the national level. The 19th Amendment, providing women the right to vote, enable women further their pursuit for full inclusion in the working of American society. The Female Advocates These influential women are most widely known suffragist of their generation and has become icons of the women suffrage movement. These independent, bold, and intelligent female pioneers paved the way for so many women different races, and nationalities to come together as one for a common cause. • 8. The Supply Of Crude Oil Internationally, the supply of crude oil has been elevated beyond demand leading to a subsequent decrease in prices for the past few years. The price reduction of oil remained consistent and very low until a few months ago when the oil market underwent scrutiny for its high level of output. Since then, the price of oil has been extremely turbulent; experiencing record highs for the year, but following with plummeting values the very next day. Many factors, internal and external to the United States, account for the change in supply and demand of oil internationally and these factors will subsequently cause the price of oil to decrease to 48 dollars from 50. The United States faces many internal factors that influence oil supply, including the number of suppliers and the confidence these suppliers have in the oil market. According to McFarlane of the Wall Street Journal, the quantity of oil in the country is 5.4% higher than the same period last year and 31.5% above the five year average . The ultimate reason for any increase in supply, specifically the increase she mentions, is due to higher output by oil suppliers. For example, within the last week the number of oil rigs in the country has increased by 11, bringing the total number of oil producing facilities to 443 (Jamerson, 2016). As mentioned before, oil prices have been turbulent in the market and according to the article Oil Prices Down as Investors Skim Gains, the observed oil rig growth is due to a surge in ... The test went well and after many years they checked back on the children to see how this little test is correlated to their high school test scores. Its results were quite stunning with both the first test of the 60s and the second test in the 70s trying to see how to alter the results with different variables The first experiment started by bringing a group of children, about the age of four, and presenting them with a simple option, they can either take the marshmallow at anytime or wait fifteen minutes and get two marshmallows. • 11. Characteristics Of Shakespearean Tragedy 2. SHAKESPEAREAN TRAGEDY Shakespearean tragedy is the title given to most tragedies written by the playwright William Shakespeare. Shakespearean tragedy began, roughly speaking, with marked indebtedness to the tragic writing of Marlowe and Kyd: poetry, character, and style from Marlowe; motive, plot, and tragic intensity from Kyd. No evidence suggests Shakespeare was ever particularly aware of or influenced by, Aristotelian theories of tragedy . (Bevington, 1980) The plays we usually have in mind when we think about Shakespearean tragedy are the classics like Titus Andronicus (written between 1590 94), Romeo and Juliet (1594 96), Julius Caesar (1599), Hamlet (1599 1601), Othello (1603 04), King Lear (1605), Macbeth (1606 07), Antony and Cleopatra (1606 07), and Coriolanus (1608) derived from Plutarch. Troilus and Cressida, Timon of Athens, and Cymbeline were listed as tragedies in the First Folio. Characteristics of a Shakespearean tragedy are found in many of his histories, but since they are from real figures throughout England s history, they were classified as histories in the First Folio. The Progressive Tax System When comparing the benefits and issues between the flat tax and the progressive tax, it is important to understand the way these two systems operate in today s economy. The flat tax can be defined as a tax that requires every individual to pay the same rate of deduction regardless of their income. On the other hand, a progressive tax can be defined as a tax where the tax rate is increased based on the income a person earn. This system is operated through the use of tax brackets, where the levels of income are divided into different ranges with each range having a tax rate more significant than the range below it. Therefore, people may consider maintaining their income at anywhere below $13,250 to avoid having it taxed a higher rate. In addition, some may also argue that this system fails to encourage people to invest in businesses because of the significant rates the government may tax on their additional profit and the initial opening of their establishment. • 16. Assessment Of An Organizational Leader Assessment of an Organizational Leader It is not uncommon for individuals in a private corporation or in a state public sector organization to associate leadership concepts with the top brass in today s military. Individuals will make the assumption that if someone obtains a certain rank in the military then that person must possess the skills and qualities of an all encompassing leader who can successfully lead the most complex of organizations. Such assumptions, however, do not consider that the modern military does not work in this manner and leadership is much more complex. Since 2003, the Army has fired 129 of its top leaders while who were commanding either a battalion or a brigade (Tan, 2015). The military is in fact limited and without external resources for leadership and without exception operates in an environment that grooms and grows its leaders from the bottom up. This limits the ability of all of the armed forces, including the United States Army, in allocating good leaders when at the top tier of the organization. Basic Organizational Structure of Today s Military Today s Army typically has a hierarchy of organizations that funnel tasks and information from the highest levels of government to the individual Soldier on the ground. Prior to tonight, I had never been inside Reynolds Recital Hall let alone Howard Hall. On the night of the concert, it was packed if not sold out. The stage was bathed in blue in the background the harsh gels glared like a cloudless sky on a hot day. Center stage held a grand piano, but the intensity of the blue light was not present. Instead, golden lights paled the light and set the mood of the stage as calm and serene. Three different choirs crossed the stage and each brought wonderous sound, flawless ... The use of automobiles has since increased in the US and other parts of the world. By 1999, the US alone had over 200 million passenger cars and light trucks. Throughout chapter 7, he writes what he believes is a true war story. It s through evil, disbelief, embarrassment, and hidden meanings in Mary Anne s trip to Vietnam that we know what a true war story is. The Sweetheart of the Song Tra Bong is a perfect example of a true war story. In a war, nothing ever hangs onto the good; it always grabs on to the evil. These essays were published in newspapers throughout the state of New York. Federalist 10 was written by James Madison and was titled The Utility of the Union as a Safeguard Against Domestic Faction and Insurrection (continued). This essay was a continuation of Federalist 9. Blanche Dubois Character Traits Mr. Tim Kelley ENG 272 10 Nov 2015 Character Analysis of Blanche DuBoise In the play A Streetcar Named Desire, Tennessee Williams portrays Blanch DuBoise as the character who suffers inner struggles all through her life. She is a fallen woman in the eyes of society. She would prefer to live in her own imagination. Her name is befitting for her in that she acts more as a woman of the night she would rather be out at night or in the dim lights. She is a southern woman on all counts who lives in Laurel, Mississippi. Her life has been full of disappointments, death, and sexual propriety. Through her misfortunes, she becomes more unstable. She wants to create a life within her life to cope with all the stresses of her reality. Blanche is unable to find an escape from herself. She finds herself as a victim at the hands of her sister s husband. Blanche hopes for new beginnings when she leaves Belle Reve from which she has been evicted. She moves to New Orleans to be with Stella, her sister, and her husband Stanley. Leonard Berkman pities her and views her as a misunderstood character, a tragic figure trying to start a new life for herself in New Orleans (34). As much as she tries, she can never fully gain peace. The name Williams chose for her character causes some speculations and opposition among critics. United States 1.Probable cause is a set of facts surrounding a specific circumstances that leads a reasonable person to believe an individual is committing, has committed or is about to commit a crime. Probable cause is required in the instances of an arrest, search and seizure and the issuance of a warrant. To ESTABILISH reasonable cause the officer can use any trustworthy information. For example the office could use his/her experience, informant information, first hand observations or knowledge, victim reports, anonymous tips, or hearsay. In the case of Brinegar v. United States, the petitioner claimed that the arresting officer violated his 4th amendment rights and illegally search his car. In the search and siezure the officer found that the petitioner was transporting intoxicating liquor into Oaklahoma, which is a direct violation of law. The courts found that the arresting office had arrested the petitioner on the same violation several months earlier and this was enough reasonable cause to conduct the search ans seizure. Reasonable suspicion is different from probable cause as reasonable suspicion allows an officer to temporarily detain a person if the officer suspects the person of committing a crime, previously committed a crime, or is about to commit a crime. This will allow the officer the time to conduct an investigation that may allow him/her to find the facts that are required to arrest per probable cause. However, these depictions are polarized between women of colour, to be precise black women, and white women. When juxtaposed, white women appear as demure and black women as sexually aggressive. Mass media s portrayal of black women is not a unique phenomenon. In fact, from the time of slavery black women s bodies entice white men s darkest fantasies. This is clearly seen in the legacy of Saartijie Baartman. Baartman was a spectacle for the white woman and man s gaze. She was violently objectified, fetishized, and commodified during the 1600 s. Her legacy is important to African Diasporic women because society still misuses the black female body. Black women are still hypersexualized in society because they are viewed to have bigger butts, hips, breast, and lips that are not only condemned as abnormal like Saartijie Baartman but seen as uncontrollable and animalistic. Therefore, black women s bodies have been conditioned to represent a sexual deviance. The sexual representations of black women in the media dehumanizes them, which, in turn, reduces their worth and normalizes the objectification of black women. Black women are vilified in the media through the black jezebel stereotype, which entails being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
