What Caused The Red Scare Essay
American history can generally be vast and complex, but can be broken down into moments and time
periods that are divided, unified, and have changed the United States into the country it is today.
Unfortunately, some of American history is filled with mistakes that are made by previous
countrymen. The Red Scare was a period in which several hundred immigrants were rounded up of
poorly made, radical political views, of the federal government in the years of 1917 1920, following
the Bolshevik Russian Revolution in the year of 1917 and all of the events and impact of World War 1
in America. This scare was caused by fears of subversion by communists in the United States ( The
First Red Scare ). There were a lot of causes that caused The Red Scare. The events in ... Show more

The graphic propaganda campaign had created rage, anger, suspicion, curiosity, and fear towards the
German immigrants among American citizens. ( The First Red Scare ).
The allies were completely stunned when Vladimir Lenin pulled Russia out of the Great
War and signed the Treaty of Brest Litovsk with Germany on the date March 3, 1918. The strong Anti
German feelings really extended to Russia who then appeared to be helping
Germany by pulling them out of the war. The whole world was then shocked by the news that the
Russian royal family had been brutally shot to death, caused by helping Germany, by the
Bolshevists on the date July 8, 1918. The Red Scare gained further momentum. ( The First Red Scare

* Research Paper 1: The first paper is due by Monday, April 9, 11:59 p.m. You MAY use sources
outside of the Liberty Search Engine (and are encouraged to do so). Also you may use scholarly books
and not just journal articles. You should avoid using generic websites that do not appear scholarly in
nature. A good rule of thumb is that if a website does not have an author, it is not a good source. Good
online material has also usually been published in print at some point. Google Scholar and JSTOR are
great places to search, as well as the online encyclopedias I ve shown you. Always feel free to send me

Kate Turabian s citation style (see her book, A Manual for Writers) is made up of in text numbers
which correspond to a number at the bottom of the page (footnotes). The required bibliographic
information about the work you are quoting and/or taking ideas from is written next to the footnote
number at the bottom of the page. Then, at the very end of the paper, the bibliography page
summarizes all of the bibliographic information used throughout the entire paper. Turabian is the
standard citation style for religion and history courses at most American colleges, including LUO.
LUO has provided a very helpful Turabian guide, including the proper way to record various types of
sources. Pay attention specifically to the sections on Footnotes and Bibliography:

need a table of contents page for your paper since it will only be 5 pages. I would highly recommend
reviewing the example paper as it will help you see how the Turabian guide should be used in a real

Uncle Bob Essays
Technology seems to develop at the speed of time. There is always something new and exciting on the
horizon that someone is talking about. The last place that you would think you would have a negative
experience with technology is on vacation; trying to enjoy the sun atmosphere of a place other than
home. This is exactly what happened to my Uncle Bob; he was stopped for speeding in Florida. He
answered the Law Enforcement Officers questions calmly and was then placed into the back of his
cruiser.
The process by which the Officer obtained the information is very routine; personal, one on one
conversation. Many people do not realize it but when they are talking to an officer of the law, that
person is constantly being evaluated; verbal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, a law enforcement officer can search NCIC during a traffic stop to determine if the
vehicle in question is stolen or if the driver is a wanted by law enforcement. The system responds
instantly. However, a positive response from NCIC is not probable cause for an officer to take action.
NCIC policy requires the inquiring agency to make contact with the entering agency to verify the
information is accurate and up to date (http://www.fbi.gov/about us/cjis/ncic/ncic, 2010).
Uncle Bob could have been detained for many reasons; a bench warrant for a failure to appear for
example. The more severe cases may be a felony warrant for drugs, sexual assault, battery, burglary,
etc. But at the end of the day it is on the arresting agency to confirm the accuracy of the information
that they discover when running his personal data. They need to ensure that what they discover is
correct and current. They do this by contacting the agency who provided that original information.
The main issues I have with this situation is that Uncle Bob has never left the state of California and
for him to have to travel all the way to Florida to get arrested seems a little far fetched to me. The
arresting agency would have to provide thorough due diligence to ensure that it was a good arrest. Did
the person sought after ever commit a crime in another state, was the local LEA provided a
photograph of the other Uncle Bob, was my Uncle Bob hiding something? All great questions

My Migration To Chicago
One of the intercultural experiences that comes to mind for me is when I moved from Huntington
Beach, California to Chicago, Illinois. I was in my early 20 s and my roommates talked me into
moving with them. Since I was originally from New York I anticipated living in Chicago would be
very similar. The first couple weeks were exciting and new, we visited a lot of tourist sites and we
knew our life in Chicago was going to be fun and exciting. The people seemed about the same as we
were and most of the brands we had come to love in CA were available to us in our new home. After a
few weeks I found a job at a local bowling alley. Soon after I began to realize I was missing home, I
began to miss the beach, the Mexican cuisine I was used to and

Comparing The Epic Gilgamesh And Navajo Flood Myth
Myths were created to explain the inexplicable, and to emphasize the power of a God or Goddess.
There are some myths that are part of religious traditions that are passed down from generation to
generation. Flood myths were most likely created to scare people or to tell people how God or Gods
gave them a do over. Despite bearing some minor similarities the differences between the Bible, The
Epic Gilgamesh, and Navajo flood story are clear.
In each of these stories there was a great flood. In the flood story in the Bible the purpose was to kill
all air breathing animals and all the sinful humans that lived on land. In the Bible Noah was told to
build an ark and take his family and two of each animal with him. The flood story in the Epic of
Gilgamesh had a very similar reason but the Gods were meaning to kill human and animal. Ea tells
Utnapishtim to build a boat and take only himself and two of each animal, but he ends up taking his
workers, family, and a lot of things that he was not suppose to. In the Navajo flood story the flood was
not to kill all of mankind, it was to get the sea monsters baby back. Unlike the first ... Show more

In the Bible the reason God sent the flood was because he saw that there was a lot of sinful things in
the world and he was upset. He saw that Noah and his family were the only ones that stayed true to

in the earth were evil and they decided that they wanted to completely restart the world and kill every
human and animal. Ea went against the other Gods and told Utnapishtim in a dream to build a boat
because he saw something in Utnapishim that was not in other people. In the Navajo flood story the
Gods did not send the flood to kill the people or to restart the world. The flood happened in this story
because the coyote stole the sea monsters baby, and the sea monster wanted his baby

Red Meat Consumption Report
This week s readings were eye opening. I have always known that red meat consumption was high in
the U.S. but I under estimated how high. When I moved here 10 years ago I was surprised on how
much meat people ate. I went to a friend s house for dinner and they had barbequed steaks. I got a
huge steak on my plate, and I thought it was for everyone to share but I was told that it was mine. This
stuck with me since and I always go back to that moment I too became a heavy meat eater. In Rwanda
where I am from a rib eye steak is for a family of 4, not for one person. I grew up consuming not more
that 4 6 ounces of meat daily. If the whole world adopted the American diet, it would be a disaster for
the environment. I do eat meat but I eat a lot

Argumentative Essay On Prejudice And Prejudice
Social conformity can be toxic, it often leads to the epidemic that is prejudice. To give a better idea of
what prejudice means, Judice translates to judge in Latin, therefore the term prejudice literally
translates into pre judgment . There are innumerable forms of negative preconceived notions that exist
in our world today, the biggest one being racism, which often is a stem of having anti immigration
views. Immigration prejudice is not unknown to any person who lives in America and has eyes and
ears to know it exists, but it s important to know that prejudice is not innate, it is learned, and as long
as we allow our society to practice xenophobia among present and future generations we will never be
free of it. According to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prejudice doesn t discriminate, it lives in all runs of people: Whites, African Americans, Asians,
Hispanics, Republicans, Democrats, men, women, young, old you name it. In a perfect world this
level of hatred wouldn t be the norm, but it is. It is so widespread that there s tangible evidence that
shows even Hispanics (immigrant or not) have negative affiliations with immigrants. How can this be
when Hispanics take the cake for making up the largest portion of new comers. Interestingly enough,
research done by the Pew Research Center concludes that the more Hispanics have become
accustomed to nativism in American culture, the more likely they are to feel negatively toward the
matter. This sense of superiority is quite frankly sickening, to know that even counterparts of
immigrants could fall suspect of discrimination goes to show its daunting power. What s more, the
false notion that immigrants are purely responsible for the uprooting of crime, scarce resources, drugs,
disease, and more have been fed to natives by the media and those in powerful positions to continue
defacing the image of immigration as there s no solid evidence to justify being anti foreign. As the
descendant of an immigrant father and his father before him, I ve witnessed firsthand the means and
consequences of trying to enter this country and become a citizen. The

Diabetic Travel Tips
When packing for a trip, most people only have to worry about making sure they have the right

tricks. Here are 5 tips that might help others while packing. 1). Make sure that you have plenty of
insulin, test strips and needles. Also, be sure to pack a container in which to throw away used needles.
Try to pack double what you need, such as two bottles of Novolog, two bottles of Lantus, etc. in case

I am sorry to say that there is much hard work for little benefit. Don t get me wrong, in my 20+ year
career I have had the opportunity to travel to incredible destinations and I wouldn t trade my career as
a travel agent or working in the travel industry for anything. The biggest reward for me is making
someone s dream trip come to fruition. In an industry that is challenged by the Internet, it is
imperative for anyone who wants to be a travel agent to be well versed in geography, up to date on
current events and sensitive to the diverse cultures of the countries that your clients are interested in
traveling to. A travel agent on top of their game possess the ability to address the distinct needs of
each customer and delivers high quality responsive service. Without this ability, the travel agent loses
to the internet every time. The Internet is a powerful tool and can make researching a destination quick
and easy. Can a client go to the Internet and access the same information that you can? Most
definitely. So you ask, how can a travel agent be competitive? The key to this is service. Most
travelers are not interested in booking their dream vacation through an entity that is intangible.
Basically, they want someone who they can rely on and hold their hand through the entire process.
The following information can help you understand what it takes to be a great travel agent. A good
travel agent learns the ins and outs of the industry. This means understanding every component that
goes into a travel package such as air, hotel, car, transfers, tours, etc. Learn the industry lingo.
Understand the difference between an FIT and an escorted tour. Knowing what resources to use and

The Reasons For Malaysian Citizens Do Not Like Gst Essay
Discussion : Many of the consumers think GST may have many of negative effect to them because
their must to pay more than the original cost before the government introduces GST in Malaysia. This
is some causes that may the consumer and supplier do not like GST much in Malaysia. First, I think
the reasons why many of Malaysia citizen do not like GST is because general products prices may go
up, so this will increase their daily expenditure budget. Second it will increase the load of the low
income working group in Malaysia as we know the basis salary in Malaysia is RM800. In the amount
of RM 800, they have pay many of the other cost such as utility expenses, houses or room rate, vehicle
fuel and other thing. So that it make they feel that this burden GST is distress them. In the same time
they was worried if the government increase the GST rate from 6% to 10% to increase revenue
because it is possible for the government increases GST rate to get more revenue to develop countries
or to support the government burden. Next in the beginning of introducing of GST that has many
problems in implementation due to the lack of real understanding of the concept among GST on the
supplier and consumer and to ensure that the supplier does not take any advantage of the consumer in
increase the price of their product. In addition, rumors from outside also make the Malaysia citizen
feel bad to the concept of this GST without check the information is true or not and without the truly

Medical malpractice in Pakistan
Medical malpractice is defined as professional negligence by act or omission by a health care provider
in which care provided deviates from accepted standards of practice in the medical community and
causes injury or death to the patient, with most cases involving medical error (Medical Malpractice).
Although, doctors are solely held responsible for any medical malpractice in Pakistan s hospitals, but
other factors such as the role of the hospital administration towards that medical error, the
pharmaceutical companies and ignorance of the patient himself ... Show more content on

Although private hospitals have come to the rescue but most of the Pakistani population cannot afford
it as they live below the poverty line. The charges of private hospitals are very high so people prefer to
go to public or civil hospitals where they are forced to stand in long lines and facilities are also not up
to international standards. In public hospitals there is a shortage of doctors, so the ratio of patient to
doctor is very high and more often than not the doctors are unable to attend to these patients. There are
not enough nurses to see such a large number of patients. Even if there are nurses they are not fully
trained and often cause mixing error. Mixing error takes place when the medical staff such as nurses
mixes the medication of one patient with the other. This may lead to serious problems and can even
lead to death.
Other than this there is no proper documentation in Pakistan s hospitals. Documentation is essential
regarding each and every detail e.g. the number of visits made to the doctor and the dates, the various
reports of patients. The absence of any such documentation leads to many errors as a proper follow up
is mandatory and if the hospital would not keep record of all this then effective treatment cannot take
place. If the patient has been prescribed a certain course of medicine and there is no previous record of
that. This can lead the patient to repeat the course which might have serious side effects. So doctors

Most importantly, Haines believed in the talking point shared by anti gg and SJWs in trying to make

Children in most cases will have to live with it for the rest of their lifes (same with mental effects).
They can lose vital organs and their body can be in mutilated condition. Diseases can also be picked
up along the way in some kinds of labour including child prostitution (STI), underground
mines/welding causing respiratory diseases and lead poison etc. These children can also end up with
illnesses that sometimes can not be treated. Which can end up resulting in their own death. Children
rather than adults Children are usually prefered over adults for a couple of reasons: One, children can
be more easily manipulated than adults. Two, they are more willing to do the work. But children are
more susceptible to illness or disease rather than adults are.

The Questioning of God and the Loss of Faith in Religion...
Searching for the meaning of life, people constantly question religion. What is our purpose? Why are
we here? What is the meaning of our lives? In the third century BC people saw their lives falling
apart; they wanted a new meaning of religion. During this time the Temple was destroyed, which will
be explained further on. The destruction of a significant religious figure such as the Temple causes
people to question the purpose of religion, especially if it is going to fail them. Ecclesiastes suggests
the extent to which theological systems are not just abstract ways of viewing the world; they answer
the questions of life, responding to the issues real people face in real life situations. Thus, to
understand Ecclesiastes, we must ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People began to realize that Ecclesiastes ideology truly was a logical explanation for the reason why
they were placed in their current situation. The people also took Ecclesiastes definition of religion and
applied it to their every day lives.
The meaning of life is difficult to explain considering the time period. Ecclesiastes argues that wisdom
cannot achieve its goal; that a remote God rules over a crooked world; and death did not take virtue or
vice into consideration (Anchor Bible Dictionary p.275). Hence, Ecclesiastes advocated enjoyment as
the wisest course of action during youth before the cares of advancing years made that response
impossible (Anchor Bible Dictionary p.275). Ecclesiastes discovers that people s purpose in life as
unknown. In life there is no final ultimate pronouncement, nothing is achieved and similarly human
desires are left unsatisfied (Oxford Annotated Bible p.842). Ecclesiastes sees life as not changing and
not being remembered. To achieve any sort of meaning of life, one must be wise: for in much wisdom
is much vexation (Eccl. 1:18), being wise will create confusion to those who are not wise, leading
towards understanding God s plan. People who are knowledgeable will be able to comprehend God s
divine meaning; that meaning being to large to grasp by humans. However wisdom will not change
one s fate in life. The inevitable fate for all is the same. What happens to the fool will

Explain The Six Fundamental Movements Of Major Body Segments
The six fundamental movements of major body segments are, abduction, extension, flexion, rotation,
adduction, and circumduction. Abduction is the movement of a body part away from the midline, an
example of that would be lateral raises using a dumbbell. Another example would be the lateral
shuffle. It targets the muscles of the thighs, hips, and buttocks. An extension movement would be the
return from flexion and an exercise for this would be leg extensions. An example of a flexion
movement is a hamstring stretch. Rotation is the circular movement of a body segment about a long
axis and an example is when a tennis player hits the ball backhanded. Adduction is movement of a
body part toward the midline. An example of this would be to use the

My Reaction To Noel Ashfall Summary
My reaction to the noel Ashfall by Mike Mullin was filled with exhilaration because the book always
left me hanging, and wanting more. This book always wanted me to keep reading because of all the
cliff hangers.
The reason I chose this novel is because it caught my attention, and seemed interesting. Looking
through the list of books this one caught my eye, and seemed the most interesting.
The organization of this novel is in chronological order because Alex tells about what he does, and
when he does it on his journey to find his family.
One symbol that caught my eye in the book was ash because even after the eruption they kept using
the word ash. Ash means sorrow of the world, which is how Alex describes his life after the eruption.

One of the pivotal scenes in this novel was when the volcano hit, and the explosions were going off
because Alex immediately thought about his family, and he knew he needed to find them.
There were many literary elements in the novel such as similes, hyperboles, and metaphors that were
used in the novel to describe the action in the book.
A quote in the novel is But unlike thunder, this didn t stop. It went on, and on, machine gun style, as if
Zeus had loaded his bolts into an M60 with an inexhaustible ammo crate. This quote is a simile
because it compares the explosions to a huge machine gun, and used as to compare it

Essay on The Creamy Creations Take-over
Case Study #1
The Creamy Creations Take Over
The executives of Burger Barn have attempted to implement some new changes to Creamy Creations
in a positive light. However, some of these changes risk having an impact on the rosy future they
foresee for Creamy Creations. Currently, Creamy Creations is still profitable and the financial
numbers have rose since they took over management, but there are few things I do not think Burger
Barn put any consideration into when they looked at the current state of the business and the future
they foresee if business continues down the glories trail it is on currently.
One of the things I feel Burger Barn did not consider when they predicted the future of Creamy
Creations, is that Creamy Creations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They will start to be more infrequent with their visits to the shoppe and eventually the shoppe will
have a chance of becoming a prime example of a tourist restaurant. This can cause the Ice Cream
Shoppe to become more seasonal then year round. Burger Barn also needs to think about the high
employee turnover. This could cause a business to go under really fast. If you get a reputation of never
having a more regular staff, customers are going to start to receive huge variances in customer service
and they may not return and you have a huge possibility of losing clientele. Also, you have a
possibility of running out of people willing to work for a place which seems to not treat the employees
well. People will wonder this because why else would the turnover rate be so high and the only
constant would be the ownership or management. These are all reasons why Burger Barn should not
be so optimistic about the future of Creamy Creations. There are few things that still need to be
tweaked before they can really start to be optimistic.
Some of the principles of classical management have been reflected in what has happened at Creamy
Creations. One of those principles is that management is making all of the decisions. Based off of the
case study, Burger Barns executives have made all of the decisions without any input from the staff.
The other principle which reflects on Creamy Creations is the division of labor.

Princess Hijab s Graffiti Art
In today s world, art carries a huge role in our lives as it surrounds us. It forces us to think critically
and in different ways based on what s in front of us, such as shocking, fascinating, and impressing our
minds. It s just a simple way of displaying color and style in order to force us to try and figure out
what their message is. Art is not only about showing self expression, but it also helps bring a
population of people closer and promotes team building skills, such as building up long lasting
relationships. It encourages people to contribute to the world so they can be remembered for doing

It will force them to gain a curiosity of why that subject matters a lot to them and what action they
have to take to eliminate those issues. Aburawa states, In her online manifesto, PH declares that she

to do with advertising (28). Even though Princess Hijab s graffiti art is criticized as supporting gang
related activities, she seems to attempt to use the hijabs as a form of expression to let the audience
know that they shouldn t be afraid of revealing who they are and that they should come out of their
comfort zone without caring about what others think. In Alexsandro Palombo s artwork, Disney
Princesses with Disabilities, it illustrates the Disney princesses in wheelchairs, walking canes, and
missing arms. It tends to represent and speak for standing up for people with disabilities. The title
header above, Do You Still Like Us? is expressing concern whether even though those Disney
princesses are still going to be treated equally as other people even though they have different physical
appearances from them. There are some aspects and events that some people with disabilities may
have in common with other groups of people that the audience should pay attention to because they
should be aware of the rights that they had to fight in order to improve their lifestyle. According to
Laurie Block s article, Stereotypes About People with Disabilities, People with disabilities, especially
cognitive impairments, are holy innocents endowed with special grace, with the function of inspiring
others to value life. That being said, Palombo s artwork help illustrate that people with disabilities
deserve the same treatment as people without it because they are people too.

Podcast Project
1) I feel that our podcast project is a success when referring to our progress check in. The main goal
that I wanted to achieve was to create a podcast that will show soon to be lawyers and prosecutors that
they are incarcerating people with an illness, not criminals. This should lead to empathy and create
institutions that rehabilitate drug addicts rather than incarcerate them. The factors that deem this
progress a success are the systematic, institutional and personal problems that told listeners about. We
talked about the systematic problems that stemmed from Richard Nixon s War on Drugs and how
African Americans were disproportionately targeted. Next, we showed how the War on Drugs created
institutional problems. As an example we used the Medical University of Southern Carolinas policy to
drug test pregnant women, which led to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We then explained how every mother that was tested was black and that the only white mother tested

mothers, specifically African American mothers. Using two personal accounts we talked about how
the incarceration of women of color leads to intergenerational poverty. This podcast clearly shows
how African American women are targeted through drugs and that incarceration is not the answer. 2)
Although our project incorporates diverse viewpoints, they are limited to what Rachelle and I were
able to access within the allotted time to record our podcast. We used scholars from class material,
personal accounts, and outside sources that stem from our Wiki assignment. We used Patricia Hill

Elvis And Johnny Cash Essay
Historically, genres of popular music have undergone dramatic changes due to changing technology,
social relationships with historical events, ideas and practices and the changing demographics of
listeners. For genres as diverse as country and rock n roll, there have been many changes that were
forced along with cultural movements of the times that influenced and encouraged young people to

pathway for artists such as Johnny cash who bridged the gap between rock and country music to rise

army; he attracted females for his good looks and use of sexuality in some of his lyrics. After joining

Fantasy Sports; gambling or not. Fantasy sports should not be considered gambling. Fantasy sports
requires the player to be knowledgeable about the sport that they are playing in. Gambling requires no

who just read the rulebook. In fantasy sports, the more knowledgeable and experienced player will

By definition gambling is risky, full of hunches and gut feelings. gambling on something usually

Money is always involved with true gambling. Fantasy sports are often recreational. Friends at work

Players with more experience are more likely to win in fantasy sports. With gambling the same cannot
be said. Gambling has no real skill involved. If a person bets on a horse race, they do so with blind
faith in that horse. Sure, you can watch that horse and figure out if it can do well or not. At the end of
the day, none of that will matter. In fantasy sports players need experience to win. Yes, a player can

Good Will Hunting is a film which conveys many interlocking themes and messages to its viewers.
One of these nicely woven themes is placing trust in the people we care about as well as people we
have only recently become acquainted with. Another message, arguably more significant than the last
is finding and pursuing the potential one has and bringing meaning into our lives in any form we
choose. I believe the potential and success this film demonstrates is that success, growth, and meaning
in a person s life does not always have to come in the form of advancing in a career or social status but
rather in the form of overcoming hardships and developing close reciprocating relationships. The

George Bush Decision Points Analysis
The eight years of George Bush s presidency were some of the most controversial, and consequential
of any president s in our nations history. There were many domestic and foreign concerns that were in
the forefront of the country s mind, and they had to be dealt with swiftly and with great competence.
Whether that is how President Bush handled those concerns is still highly debated, by the common
man and the President himself. In his book Decision Points , President Bush documents the processes
and thoughts he went through in deliberating the responses to the many conflicts that he faced in his
early life, his governorship, and mainly his presidency. As in any presidency there are successes and
failures, and Bush displays his opinions of his. The memoir provides a more personal feel to a man
who was in a position that most people can feel little personal connection with. He provides an honest
and insightful into the inner workings of his cabinet, his decisions, and his reactions to the world
around him. Though typically regarded as a negative presidency by most scholars, Bush does a

The description gives the work a story like flow, while the symbolism makes the reader more able to

Euthanasia is a term typically associated with the mercy killing of animals, but many are unaware that
this action applies to humans as well. Voluntary euthanasia is legal in only some places like the
Netherlands and Belgium but assisted suicide is legal in much more countries like Switzerland,
Germany, and Japan. Euthanasia and assisted suicide are mistakenly used interchangeably, but they are
very different on the levels of involvement. A physician assisting a patient to obtain lethal means to

Those that are faced with the inevitable should be the ones to decide whether or not they want to
sustain their own life because who else would know their mind better than themselves? The choice to
die is filling with dignity, but being forced to stay alive again one s own will strips patients of their
humanity. The cost effectiveness of euthanasia and assisted suicide will be a huge stress relief for
terminally ill patients while also benefiting those patients that are not terminally ill. Those against
euthanasia and assisted suicide often claim that its legalization will lead to murder, but with protective
policies in place that will not happen. Assisted suicide is legal in less than five countries and
euthanasia is legal in fewer, but soon more and more counties are going to start considering
legalization. It is important for the citizens of these countries to understand what will happen if
euthanasia continues to be illegal and what will happen if it is legalized. It will affect them, their loved

New families drove the requirement for lodging and William Levitt was the first to jump on this
opportunity. He drove the increase of rural areas with his reasonably priced mass created homes. From

ensuring of home advances for suburban one family homes helped boost industries. With openings for
the opportunity to receive an education given by the G.I. Bill and the advancements in various
industries, a road was paved to economic prosperity. However, this prosperity was not shared with all
as millions were left poor. Farmers, African Americans and other minorities existed at levels beneath
those necessary for human decency, and were often left without adequate housing and education and

Native People Oppression
The principal position of this paper will argue that oppression and discrimination were experienced by
native people globally in the 20th century. Nearly all native populations struggled with
industrialization during this time, with unfamiliar people impeding on their lands and cultures. As
expansion continued into native territories, outsiders brought with them new ideals of religion,
civilization, and advancement in their own communities. As new civilizations and countries engulfed
indigenous people, they became considered a threat by the new comers to the sanctity of their gods
and their societies. Governments often refused to recognize native populations, and instead tried to kill
them off or assimilate them. Conditions for American Indians at this time were harsh. Culturally,
indigenous people were discouraged and barred from practicing their religions and ceremonies, and
risked persecution if they did so. Because of this, traditions were often practiced in small, secluded
groups, and languages that had once been widely spoken were known only by elders and the most
devout natives.1 Sacred lands were stripped from the natives, and the government forced multiple
different tribes to share restricted amounts of land in reservations. 1 The interpersonal treatment of
natives by the white population was brutish and savage. Women would be raped by police officers,
and young girls were sent off to boarding schools to be Christianized. They were treated improperly

Why the World isn t flat
Though the volume of globalization is in increasing pace, the value to globalization hasn t been
recorded high. If we look at the data, countries trade is mostly bilateral with the nearby country. The
geography and distance among countries still matter when it comes to international trade.
If we talk about the outsourcing of work, only the standardized work that is principle based such as
accounting, data management, coding, etc. can be transferred to other geographic location because of
cost advantage, location advantage, and productivity there. The disruptive and innovative ideas are
worked in a team having brilliant talent which can t be outsourced. One such example is of Sweden,
which stands 7th in world top innovators index and ranks 3rd in terms of patent filing among 183
countries in the list. It is because of the excellent education system (ranking 12th among 183
countries) and high level of technological adoption and ITC usage (ranking 11th and 4th respectively).

Violence, Foolishness, And Impulsiveness In The Knight s Tale
The Knight s Tale is one of many tales from the Canterbury Tales. This story sets in the city of Athens.
Which opens into the theme of violence, foolishness, impetuousness, and impulsiveness; initially
exceedingly emotional responses. One example is when two of our main characters, Palmon and
Arcite, both fall in love with Theseus s sister in law (Emelye). These two blood brothers, leave each
other after seeing Emelye out of the window of the tower. Which, I believe is a very impulsive
decision, for they have not got time to know who she is and her personality. Also, they act like mortal
enemies after just seeing her, so this thought process was completely impulsive and based on her
looks. And later, Arcite tries to get to know her better after he was released from his imprisonment
sentence by disguising himself, so he can take a job as a page in Emelye s chamber. I believe this
shows that he wants to know her, but also it shows he is not being honest with her, which shows he
was being impulsive and deceiving. He only learned about the little things that she liked, not her
personality. Emelye learned a little bit about Arcite after the little conversing they shared, so they
learned a little of each other s personality. This shows that the friendship was growing and not an
intimate relationship, like Arcite wanted. So the story goes on and both Palmon and Arcite have been
released from prison. And they happen to both decide to wander in the woods. Then they confront
each other, each claiming the right to Emelye. The next day, they were brutally hacking away at each
other. Honestly, I believe they are being impulsive and violent, they still barely knew Emelye
(especially Palmon), and they decide to go kill each other. Then here shows up Theseus, which a
loving and wise duke, but he can also be a little impulse when it comes to violence (which is fairly
normal for a duke in the 1390s). Theseus tries to be loving when he sees the two men fighting, but he
changes his mind when he found out it was Palmon and Arcite fighting. And that they were fighting
because they love Emelye. Then Theseus was about to respond by killing them, but his loving wife
and Emelye intervened, pleading for their lives. They pleaded

Hubble Space Telescope and Significant Discoveries
Funding was approved in 1977 for a Large Space Telescope in 1977 and in 1983 it was renamed
Hubble Space Telescope in honor of astronomer Edwin P. Hubble who discovered evidence of an
expanding universe and the existence of other galaxies. Work was completed in 1985 and it was
launched and deployed from the Space Shuttle Discovery in April of 1990, 350 miles above earth.
Since its deployment, there have been five services, each service to perform corrective and preventive
maintenance, add upgrades to the equipment, or both. In 2011, the Hubble space Telescope celebrated

Based on observations of galaxies, galaxy clusters and cosmic microwave background, scientists
determined that most of the universe s mass is composed of dark matter. Dark matter does not emit
light but can be detected by the way its gravity distorts the images of the background galaxies. Using
large 3 D models of the distribution, scientists have determined dark matter clumping increases over
time (Livio, 2010).
The Hubble Space Telescope has been key in not only confirming the universe s expansion but also
the further defining the rate of the expansion. Edwin Hubble in 1929 provided the first evidence of the
expansion of the universe and its finite age with his Hubble constant. The constant says that the farther
a galaxy is the faster the acceleration, therefore the universe is expanding. The ability of the Hubble
Telescope to resolve Cepheid variable stars farther out than could previously be done by ground based
telescope allowed scientists to see further out and therefore longer periods of time than they ever
could before. This ability to look further back in the past has allowed scientists to better define the
expansion rate of the universe. When Hubble was first launched, the expansion rate was estimated
between 50 100 km/sec/Mpc. In 1994 it was determined to be 80 km/sec/Mpc with a 10 percent rate of
error. In 2009, scientists, using observations of Cepheids in faraway galaxies, were able to narrow

Your formative assessment is nice. I like the way you practice with the whole class so no one student
is singled out and feels pressured if they do not comprehend the information. Then, you travel to a
more in depth assessment of individual students by analyzing them segmenting the words on their
own. Critique I really like the way you formatted this assessment. A critique I have is that I am a bit
confused on the coins. I do not really understand their purpose in this assessment. I am sure that you
have a purpose for them, but that

Carlow University Case Study
Without a doubt, attending college could be one of the most beneficial choices made as a young adult.
In my opinion, the most satisfaction that follows a college degree is the feeling of self success. A
college degree will also help you find a job that is more satisfying and enjoyable. The manageability
obtained and practiced during college will also help you achieve other goals.
I chose Carlow University because of the size, austerity, and most importantly, the degrees and courses
offered. Carlow University has a 1:11 teacher to student ratio, as it only has an estimated 2,000
students enrolled per semester. I believe that smaller classes will allow for more attention to the
students, as well as a personal bond with the teacher and peers.

Fear And Shock Tactics Essay
Fear and Shock Tactics in Advertising
According to the Statistic Brain and Research Institute, the fear of death is second on overall top
phobias. Due to this apparent fear that is shared by so many, we pose the question why advertisers use
this method to persuade, if it imposes distress on so many. This is one example of the use of fear and
shock tactics seen in ads. This tactic is seen primarily in drinking and driving PSA s and
advertisements. When observing a PSA for drinking and driving, such as Never by the Transport
Accident Commission, (TAC), the theme of fear and shock is very apparent to the viewer. The first
seconds consist of a car accident and then death, leaving the viewer stunned. The use of fear and shock
in drinking and driving advertisements are detrimental to the overall purpose because it does not make
a lasting impression on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Fear Patterns: A New Approach to Designing Road Safety Advertisements, Fear appeals
can evoke the emotion of fear, and also perhaps the emotions of shock or disgust in the viewing
audience with the aim of grabbing the audience s attention and motivating them to act in a
recommended way to avert the threat posed in the advertisement. (266). In other words what this
states, is at times the use of shocking the audience can go too far. This can result in the audience
straying away from this ad, leaving it to be uneffective. In the commercial Never , the outwardness of
a car accident and death in the first five seconds, takes away from the rest of the commercial, which is
the most important part. The video starts out with a couple in a car smiling and looking at each other
looking seemingly more than happy. Right from the start, a moment of intensity occurs. As the couple
is driving down the road, they go smashing into the back of a truck. This moment of intensity

Critical Analysis Of Sonnet 130
Sonnet 130 by William Shakespeare is undoubtedly one of the most influential pieces of poetry in the
history of humankind. It is a standard 14 line Shakespearian sonnet that describes the beauty of a
woman in comparison the beauties of the world the speaker admires the most. Unlike Petrarch whose
sonnets about the beauty of Beatrice were all aimed at picturing the godlike appearance and the
personal traits of his beloved woman, sonnet 130 by Shakespeare goes in the opposite direction. This
particular sonnet is unusual and, in a certain regard, revolutionary for the late renaissance poetry as it
steps back from the image of the woman as a goddess, a heavenly angel who delights the world with
her presence. Sonnet 130 describes a woman as she really is, a woman with flaws, a woman who is
not the most beautiful one in existence, a woman who might not be compared to the most admirable
wonders of the world yet a woman whom the speaker loves dearly and considers the most important
woman in his life.
Shakespeare starts the sonnet with comparing the physical traits of his mistress to the beauties of the
world. The comparison, as it was said above, is not usual for the poetry of the time. Precisely, the
comparison does not relate to the features of the described woman:
My mistress eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips red;
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head (Shakespeare).
The author admits that there are wonders in the world that are far more superior to the beauty of his
mistress. He admits it fairly and without hesitations. The author knows what his beloved woman really
is, he is realistic about her and, at this point, this feature of the sonnet makes it the most outstanding
example of the late renaissance literature. The author seems to abandon the overexaggerated beauty
standards of the time, he leaves behind the cliches of his era and allows himself to be as realistic as no
one dared to be before. He does speak of an angel who came to our world as a gift from the Kingdom
of Heaven, he speaks of an earthly woman whose beauty is not as evident as the beauty of Beatrice
from Petrarchan sonnets. The beauty of the speaker s

Ethics Of Embryos
Embryo gene modification is a very controversial topic. Some people believe that it could potentially
provide a valuable way to decrease the chances of genetic diseases at birth, whereas others think that it
could lead to unethical uses such as designer babies . In this essay, I will expand on the arguments put
forward by different people concerning their views on genetic manipulation, and I will also attempt to
put into brief the broad topic of gene editing and artificial fertilisation. The UK Human Fertilisation
and Embryology Authority (HFEA) has recently made a decision to give scientists in London
permission to genetically edit spare human embryos from women who have undergone IVF. The
scientists want to make some genes in leftover ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is why I created an online survey and sent it to all of my friends here at Marlborough College, to
see what people generally thought about genetic manipulation. The first question I asked was very
simple, it was: Were you aware that the manipulation of genes from IVF embryos has been allowed in
the UK? I got two clear answers 60% no; 40% yes. This worried me, because not many people seemed
to be aware of the massive decision that had taken place, which could very well affect them in the
future. The next question I asked got much more variety of answers than the last one. I asked: Do you
think that gene manipulation could potentially be considered immoral? These are the responses I

Old Market Woman Essay
The Roman statue of the Julio Claudian period, The Marble Statue of Old Woman, more commonly
known as The Old Market Woman, depicts a mature woman of the Hellenistic Age struggling. This
marble sculpture is located in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which dates its production within the
first century After Common Era. Given that it is a Roman copy of a Greek work from the second
century Before Common Era, its classification belongs within the Hellenistic period of art. This period
style abandoned idealistic beauty by delving deeply into realism and depicting things as they appear in
real life. In addition, the period explored a much greater sense of emotion while moving away from
the classical heroic and archetypal portrayals as well. Moreover, ... Show more content on

The subject is not at all idealized in any manner, but rather the artist uses realism in such a way that
the statue depicts the woman crudely. This change occurred because as both political and social
changes strayed from the deep rooted Greek societal norms, so did Greek art from idealism. Art of this
age began to indulge in a variance of experiences and an individual s uniqueness. Within this period,
old age was also Feared and mourned beyond wont by the life loving Greeks, whereas age previously
signified wisdom. These themes of old age and the associated misery were existent in many other
works of art in the Hellenistic period. Sculptures such as Myron s Drunken Old Woman, the Marble
Statue of Old Fisherman, and others also heavily equipped pathos and drama as the Old Market
Woman did. The sculptures of the time were constructed to bring out instant emotional reactions. To
bring about this elevated state of emotion, they aimed to depict more diverse states of consciousness
and graver emotions by exaggerating portions of the body

Hr Conflicts
Associate Level Material Conflicts Are Important Worksheet In this assignment, you must write 300
to 450 words on conflict and conflict management. Record your answers in this worksheet. Part 1: The
Five Conflict Types Describe each of the five conflict types using paragraph form. 1. Pseudo conflicts:
Psueudo conflicts, are conflicts that are not real, but they are only perceived as real conflicts. Pseudo
conflicts can result from two causes: faulty assumptions, and false dilemmas. A faulty assumption
would be asking one of your dental assistants to stay behind, after office hours to help sterilize
instruments. You notice that the dental assistant is leaving the office, and you assume that they are

3. Ego conflicts: Ego conflicts occur when a dispute settles on status or power. The initial arguments
may be over some factual question that can be easily answered. However, the ego conflict results
when you argue who has the right facts. The question of which Republican had the most votes during
the presidential election becomes who knows more about politics. 4. Value conflicts: Value conflicts
focus on personal beliefs that you hold near and dear. Value conflicts usually surface in personal
relationships. For example, my boyfriend and I have been dating for 6 months. We have discussed
marriage with children. I am Catholic and he is a non denominational Christian. When we discuss
marriage, he constantly reminds me that he doesn t believe in Catholicism. I am a practicing Catholic,
he is not a practicing Christian. We have both decided that eventually we will come to a compromise
where both of our religious needs will be met. 5. Need conflicts: Need conflicts usually occur when
the needs of one individual are at odds with the needs of another. For example, when you begin
cooking Thanksgiving dinner for your family and friends, and you begin a brand new recipe that
requires your undivided attention so that your measurements are precise; your cellular phone rings and
your 6 month old wakes up from his nap. Need conflicts are easily resolved by redefining or

What Caused The Red Scare Essay American history can generally be vast and complex, but can be broken down into moments and time periods that are divided, unified, and have changed the United States into the country it is today. Unfortunately, some of American history is filled with mistakes that are made by previous countrymen. The Red Scare was a period in which several hundred immigrants were rounded up of poorly made, radical political views, of the federal government in the years of 1917 1920, following the Bolshevik Russian Revolution in the year of 1917 and all of the events and impact of World War 1 in America. The strong Anti German feelings really extended to Russia who then appeared to be helping Germany by pulling them out of the war. The whole world was then shocked by the news that the Russian royal family had been brutally shot to death, caused by helping Germany, by the Bolshevists on the date July 8, 1918. The Red Scare gained further momentum. ( The First Red Scare ). The last place that you would think you would have a negative experience with technology is on vacation; trying to enjoy the sun atmosphere of a place other than home. This is exactly what happened to my Uncle Bob; he was stopped for speeding in Florida. He answered the Law Enforcement Officers questions calmly and was then placed into the back of his cruiser. The process by which the Officer obtained the information is very routine; personal, one on one conversation. For example, a law enforcement officer can search NCIC during a traffic stop to determine if the vehicle in question is stolen or if the driver is a wanted by law enforcement. The system responds instantly. However, a positive response from NCIC is not probable cause for an officer to take action. NCIC policy requires the inquiring agency to make contact with the entering agency to verify the information is accurate and up to date (http://www.fbi.gov/about us/cjis/ncic/ncic, 2010). Uncle Bob could have been detained for many reasons; a bench warrant for a failure to appear for example. The more severe cases may be a felony warrant for drugs, sexual assault, battery, burglary, etc. But at the end of the day it is on the arresting agency to confirm the accuracy of the information that they discover when running his personal data. They need to ensure that what they discover is correct and current. They do this by contacting the agency who provided that original information. The main issues I have with this situation is that Uncle Bob has never left the state of California and for him to have to travel all the way to Florida to get arrested seems a little far fetched to me. The arresting agency would have to provide thorough due diligence to ensure that it was a good arrest. There are some myths that are part of religious traditions that are passed down from generation to generation. Flood myths were most likely created to scare people or to tell people how God or Gods gave them a do over. Despite bearing some minor similarities the differences between the Bible, The Epic Gilgamesh, and Navajo flood story are clear. In each of these stories there was a great flood. In the flood story in the Bible the purpose was to kill all air breathing animals and all the sinful humans that lived on land. In the Bible Noah was told to build an ark and take his family and two of each animal with him. The flood story in the Epic of Gilgamesh had a very similar reason but the Gods were meaning to kill human and animal. Ea tells Utnapishtim to build a boat and take only himself and two of each animal, but he ends up taking his workers, family, and a lot of things that he was not suppose to. Immigration prejudice is not unknown to any person who lives in America and has eyes and ears to know it exists, but it s important to know that prejudice is not innate, it is learned, and as long as we allow our society to practice xenophobia among present and future generations we will never be free of it. It is so widespread that there s tangible evidence that shows even Hispanics (immigrant or not) have negative affiliations with immigrants. How can this be when Hispanics take the cake for making up the largest portion of new comers. Interestingly enough, research done by the Pew Research Center concludes that the more Hispanics have become accustomed to nativism in American culture, the more likely they are to feel negatively toward the matter. This sense of superiority is quite frankly sickening, to know that even counterparts of immigrants could fall suspect of discrimination goes to show its daunting power. What s more, the false notion that immigrants are purely responsible for the uprooting of crime, scarce resources, drugs, disease, and more have been fed to natives by the media and those in powerful positions to continue defacing the image of immigration as there s no solid evidence to justify being anti foreign. The charges of private hospitals are very high so people prefer to go to public or civil hospitals where they are forced to stand in long lines and facilities are also not up to international standards. In public hospitals there is a shortage of doctors, so the ratio of patient to doctor is very high and more often than not the doctors are unable to attend to these patients. There are not enough nurses to see such a large number of patients. Even if there are nurses they are not fully trained and often cause mixing error. Mixing error takes place when the medical staff such as nurses mixes the medication of one patient with the other. This may lead to serious problems and can even lead to death. Other than this there is no proper documentation in Pakistan s hospitals. Documentation is essential regarding each and every detail e.g. the number of visits made to the doctor and the dates, the various reports of patients. • 27. Essay about Good Will Hunting Good Will Hunting is a film which conveys many interlocking themes and messages to its viewers. One of these nicely woven themes is placing trust in the people we care about as well as people we have only recently become acquainted with. Another message, arguably more significant than the last is finding and pursuing the potential one has and bringing meaning into our lives in any form we choose. I believe the potential and success this film demonstrates is that success, growth, and meaning in a person s life does not always have to come in the form of advancing in a career or social status but rather in the form of overcoming hardships and developing close reciprocating relationships. • 30. George Bush Decision Points Analysis The eight years of George Bush s presidency were some of the most controversial, and consequential of any president s in our nations history. There were many domestic and foreign concerns that were in the forefront of the country s mind, and they had to be dealt with swiftly and with great competence. Whether that is how President Bush handled those concerns is still highly debated, by the common man and the President himself. In his book Decision Points , President Bush documents the processes and thoughts he went through in deliberating the responses to the many conflicts that he faced in his early life, his governorship, and mainly his presidency. As in any presidency there are successes and failures, and Bush displays his opinions of his. The memoir provides a more personal feel to a man who was in a position that most people can feel little personal connection with. He provides an honest and insightful into the inner workings of his cabinet, his decisions, and his reactions to the world around him. • 34. Native People Oppression The principal position of this paper will argue that oppression and discrimination were experienced by native people globally in the 20th century. Nearly all native populations struggled with industrialization during this time, with unfamiliar people impeding on their lands and cultures. As expansion continued into native territories, outsiders brought with them new ideals of religion, civilization, and advancement in their own communities. As new civilizations and countries engulfed indigenous people, they became considered a threat by the new comers to the sanctity of their gods and their societies. Governments often refused to recognize native populations, and instead tried to kill them off or assimilate them. Conditions for American Indians at this time were harsh. Culturally, indigenous people were discouraged and barred from practicing their religions and ceremonies, and risked persecution if they did so. Because of this, traditions were often practiced in small, secluded groups, and languages that had once been widely spoken were known only by elders and the most devout natives.1 Sacred lands were stripped from the natives, and the government forced multiple different tribes to share restricted amounts of land in reservations. 1 The interpersonal treatment of natives by the white population was brutish and savage. • 36. Violence, Foolishness, And Impulsiveness In The Knight s Tale The Knight s Tale is one of many tales from the Canterbury Tales. This story sets in the city of Athens. Which opens into the theme of violence, foolishness, impetuousness, and impulsiveness; initially exceedingly emotional responses. One example is when two of our main characters, Palmon and Arcite, both fall in love with Theseus s sister in law (Emelye). These two blood brothers, leave each other after seeing Emelye out of the window of the tower. Which, I believe is a very impulsive decision, for they have not got time to know who she is and her personality. Also, they act like mortal enemies after just seeing her, so this thought process was completely impulsive and based on her looks. And later, Arcite tries to get to know her better after he was released from his imprisonment sentence by disguising himself, so he can take a job as a page in Emelye s chamber. I believe this shows that he wants to know her, but also it shows he is not being honest with her, which shows he was being impulsive and deceiving. He only learned about the little things that she liked, not her personality. Emelye learned a little bit about Arcite after the little conversing they shared, so they learned a little of each other s personality. This shows that the friendship was growing and not an intimate relationship, like Arcite wanted. So the story goes on and both Palmon and Arcite have been released from prison. And they happen to both decide to wander in the woods. Then they confront each other, each claiming the right to Emelye. The next day, they were brutally hacking away at each other. Honestly, I believe they are being impulsive and violent, they still barely knew Emelye (especially Palmon), and they decide to go kill each other. Then here shows up Theseus, which a loving and wise duke, but he can also be a little impulse when it comes to violence (which is fairly normal for a duke in the 1390s). Theseus tries to be loving when he sees the two men fighting, but he changes his mind when he found out it was Palmon and Arcite fighting. And that they were fighting because they love Emelye. Then Theseus was about to respond by killing them, but his loving wife and Emelye intervened, pleading for their lives. They pleaded ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Based on observations of galaxies, galaxy clusters and cosmic microwave background, scientists determined that most of the universe s mass is composed of dark matter. Dark matter does not emit light but can be detected by the way its gravity distorts the images of the background galaxies. Using large 3 D models of the distribution, scientists have determined dark matter clumping increases over time (Livio, 2010). The Hubble Space Telescope has been key in not only confirming the universe s expansion but also the further defining the rate of the expansion. Edwin Hubble in 1929 provided the first evidence of the expansion of the universe and its finite age with his Hubble constant. The constant says that the farther a galaxy is the faster the acceleration, therefore the universe is expanding. The ability of the Hubble Telescope to resolve Cepheid variable stars farther out than could previously be done by ground based telescope allowed scientists to see further out and therefore longer periods of time than they ever could before. This ability to look further back in the past has allowed scientists to better define the expansion rate of the universe. When Hubble was first launched, the expansion rate was estimated between 50 100 km/sec/Mpc. In 1994 it was determined to be 80 km/sec/Mpc with a 10 percent rate of error. • 41. Critical Analysis Of Sonnet 130 Sonnet 130 by William Shakespeare is undoubtedly one of the most influential pieces of poetry in the history of humankind. It is a standard 14 line Shakespearian sonnet that describes the beauty of a woman in comparison the beauties of the world the speaker admires the most. Unlike Petrarch whose sonnets about the beauty of Beatrice were all aimed at picturing the godlike appearance and the personal traits of his beloved woman, sonnet 130 by Shakespeare goes in the opposite direction. This particular sonnet is unusual and, in a certain regard, revolutionary for the late renaissance poetry as it steps back from the image of the woman as a goddess, a heavenly angel who delights the world with her presence. Sonnet 130 describes a woman as she really is, a woman with flaws, a woman who is not the most beautiful one in existence, a woman who might not be compared to the most admirable wonders of the world yet a woman whom the speaker loves dearly and considers the most important woman in his life. Shakespeare starts the sonnet with comparing the physical traits of his mistress to the beauties of the world. The comparison, as it was said above, is not usual for the poetry of the time. Precisely, the comparison does not relate to the features of the described woman: My mistress eyes are nothing like the sun; Coral is far more red than her lips red; If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun; If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head (Shakespeare). The author admits that there are wonders in the world that are far more superior to the beauty of his mistress. He admits it fairly and without hesitations. The author knows what his beloved woman really is, he is realistic about her and, at this point, this feature of the sonnet makes it the most outstanding example of the late renaissance literature. The author seems to abandon the overexaggerated beauty standards of the time, he leaves behind the cliches of his era and allows himself to be as realistic as no one dared to be before. He does speak of an angel who came to our world as a gift from the Kingdom of Heaven, he speaks of an earthly woman whose beauty is not as evident as the beauty of Beatrice from Petrarchan sonnets. This marble sculpture is located in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which dates its production within the first century After Common Era. Given that it is a Roman copy of a Greek work from the second century Before Common Era, its classification belongs within the Hellenistic period of art.
