The Bible Passage Judges Chapter Fourteen
I have selected the Bible passage Judges Chapter Fourteen verses One Twenty and have analyzed and
interpreted this specific passage by using the King James Version Study Bible. I have also read the
article, A Black Feminist Approach to Biblical Studies by Wilda Gafney, which also interprets and
analyzes this specific Bible passage. After interpreting this passage myself and then reading Gafney s
work, I can see that we had both seen the story pretty similarly except for that she noticed some
specific details in the passage that failed to catch my attention. Her points are strong and compelling
but is she looking too deeply into the story?
The Book of Judges is thought to be possibly written by Samuel and the purpose of this book is stated
to be, to show that God s judgement against sin is certain, and his forgiveness of sin and restoration to
relationship are just as certain for those who repent (KJV Study Bible). Judges Chapter Fourteen
verses One Twenty is specifically the story of Samson s Feast and Riddle. The author of this passage
(thought to be Samuel) is saying that you should not use God s blessings for selfish purposes. It is a
special gift for God to give you these strengths and abilities and to use them selfishly is robbing God,
the church, and his fellow believers (KJV Study Bible). As you use the gifts God has given you, you
should be sure that you are helping others as God would want you too, not just yourself. This specific
Bible passage tells the story

Nt1330 Unit 3 Assignment 4 Command Line
CM 523 Homework 4: Command Line Bochao Sun Nov. 14, 2017 When I encountered command line
during last week s class, I found it a little confusing and aloof . I was totally unfamiliar with its
purpose and syntax, and the interface is merely characters of same font and size. I thought it is
something only for computer science students and does not have anything to do with web design and
interaction. Things changed a lot as I learn to use it. In fact, such flat interface excludes all graphical
display formats in regular commands thus makes it clearer to find the target directory and file by
looking their names and types (e.g. style.css) returned after the ls command. It should occupy less
RAM of the computer than Finder because it does not render figure out icons and thumbnails for all

When I am using graphical user interface, I can go back and forth to the last directory by simply
clicking at arrow on the Finder window. However, I need to type commands every time to change
directory (cd) and know what is in the directory (pwd). Therefore, CLI both saves time and takes time.
It also takes time to learn and get used to the set of commands that make sense in CLI. What s more,
contents are permanently deleted after the rm or rm r command, which may cause loss of important
documents by mistake. Another detail that I pay attention to is that in Finder, I can preview most files
by pressing the Space button and switch the files with arrow buttons on keyboard, while previewing is
not available on CLI. I need to open it with an open command. In addition, CLI once surprised me by
making reasonable suggestions. The first time I tried to open a website in CLI, I typed the address
without http:// and it was actually regarded as a path (see below). When it could not found the folder
and file on my computer, it surprisingly asked Perhaps you meant (suggested

Singapore
Many countries go through periods of extreme poverty and poor education during the beginning of
their colonization. These periods are most often brought about by outside countries trying to impose
themselves and their cultures on these new found countries. The people of the new found countries are
subdued under a mother country and have to live by the mother country s rules. If the country
becomes independent, often times, the extreme poverty and poor education are hard to overcome and
the country is left with a battle to turn itself around. The country of Singapore found itself in this
situation when founded by the British. Eventually, after becoming independent, ... Show more content

the lack of people at the time, Britain was able to easily colonize Singapore in 1819. Singapore was
founded by British colonial administrator Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles. The country was then deeded
to the English East India Company in 1824 and in 1826 the country was united with Melaka and
Penang to form the Presidency of the Straits Settlements, ruled by British administrators. The
colonizers came into Singapore looking to expand their trade with China and also to prevent the
advancements of the Dutch. The port at Singapore flourished immensely directly after colonization by
Britain.
The British turned Singapore into a major commercial center because of its location on the narrow
passage between the Indian Ocean and the South China Sea (Funk Wagnalls New World
Encyclopedia). The British port at Singapore became an important center for trade with the Chinese.
The use of a free trade port in Singapore attracted many diverse immigrants, especially those
attempting to escape war. Between 1880 and 1940 colonial Singapore attracted tens of thousands of
Chinese immigrant laborers, brought to serve its rapidly growing economy. This caused an immense
increase in the population and more tension in the country. Every group within Singapore wanted to be
able to trade within the flourishing port. Each immigrant

that question. The train and trucking industry, have been battling it out for years but recently it has
heated up. It has heated up because of environmental issues and traffic. Rail has won so far and here
are the reasons for this. Fuel efficiency is one of the biggest factors. The battle has bean going on
forever but trains always come out on top. Here are some statistics. Trains can haul 1 ton of freight on
average 440 miles on a gallon of fuel. Compare that to a semi truck carys 1 ton of freight on average
144 miles on a gallon of fuel. Anther of the biggest reasons for this is capacity a train car can hold a

The Movie Straight Outta Compton Directed By F. Gary Gray
Stats show that 80% civilians who were shot but not fatally injured and 78% of those killed were
minorities (Where is Social work). Reading these stats, one would think that these stats are from today

changed for the better for minorities. In the film Straight Outta Compton, directed by F. Gary Gray is a
biopic film about the rise to fame and demise of the highly controversial hip hop group N.W.A
(Niggaz Wit Attitudes). Depicting the lives of its members, Straight Outta Compton address the issues
that were facing America during that period of time; most of them racial issues. The film addresses
issues such as Capitalism in terms of the group s manager Jerry Heller and the Recording Company s
representative. The film also briefly touches upon the misogyny in the hip hop industry and the
treatment of women while omitting some scenes. And finally, the biggest issue facing America at the
time and currently, Police brutality. The film shows the audiences how the group was treated because
of their skin color and their financial/living situation. For these reasons, the film Straight Outta

Leslie T Chang Factory Girls Analysis
The unfortunate influx of young immigrants working in Chinese factories lies a fact that is bizarre to
our opinions behind the creators of our beloved everyday items: the workers choose the factory life .
This statement is especially true of women of rural China. Leslie T Chang s Factory Girls: From
Village to City in a Changing China, tells harsh stories of life in China s chaotic industrial city,
Dongguan. She tells the lives of two girls closely, Min and Ming, on their journey to the

working conditions do not make things any better. The working conditions is one that make workers
like Min and Ming contemplate and doubt their whole existence and their decisions. Regardless of the
tragedy that is the city life, both girls however were driven to take on a different path than the one that

Pepsi Max was introduced in 1993 in international markets and in the U.S. in 2007.
Despite the accolades, Coke Zero stumbled out of the gate. Big success came only after Coca Cola
adjusted on the fly.
The drink was initially marketed with a tagline of everybody chill a vague emotional message that
didn t work. Consumers were left confused about what the brand meant. The Coke Zero brand team
had studied beer ads for clues to appealing to young adult men, but the team hadn t clearly explained
Coke Zero s reason for being in the market.
The company sought to boil down Coke Zero s intrinsic value with a message that it delivered real
Coke taste, zero calories. Five years on, the marketing pitch remains the same.
Coke Zero was initially sold in white cans and bottles. In the feedback from consumers, Coca Cola
researchers noticed a problem. The white packaging connoted diet drinks, and among the coveted
young male demographic, diet connoted female. The company quickly borrowed an idea from its
Australian division and swathed Coke Zero in black. Within six months, the new marketing and
packaging were in place, and the brand took off.

High School Dropout Rates
The APA is the leading scientific and professional organization representing psychology in the United
States, with a mission to advance the creation, communication, and application of psychological
knowledge to benefit society and improve people s lives. For these reasons, it is not surprising that the
American Psychological Association published an article in May of 2013, bringing to light the impact
of family and community poverty on high school dropouts (Rumberger, 2013). According to the APA,
an estimated 1.1 million individuals did not earn a high school diploma in 2012, and unfortunately the
drop out and the drop out s family are not the only ones affected, but the decision to drop out can also
affect all of society as well. With lasting consequences, even after earning a GED, it is safe to say that
something must be done to reduce the current dropout rate of approximately 7,000 people per day.
Why might not earning a high school diploma be such a big problem? To start, compared to high
school graduates, they are less likely to find a job and earn a living wage (Rumberger, 2013). It might
be necessary for a dropout to take advantage of public assistance ... Show more content on

Economic hardship may not only cause a great deal of stress for a high school dropout, but conditions
such as homelessness and hunger could also affect that dropout s children. The APA suggests that poor
students were five times more likely to drop out of high school than high income students (Rumberger,
2013). Poor students may become very uninterested in their education if they do not have a place to
call home and they may even be unable to learn on an empty stomach, which could result in another
individual dropping out of school. The young students could also find it necessary to search for
employment in order to contribute to the home. It seems that dropping out may be a vicious cycle that

Persuasive Essay On How To Make Makeup
With a million different shades, a bountiful of techniques, and the hidden technicalities, makeup will
always be a struggle. The face serves as a canvas, and like all kinds of artwork, it has its own share of
mistakes that you cannot help but make. Makeup is not expected to be perfect on the first try, so it is
okay. Below you will read some of the most commonly made makeup mistakes and mishaps.
Before putting anything on your face, you have to make sure your face is as clean as it can be. Even in
this process people make a number of mistakes.
You may have all the products you need, moisturizer, cream, face masks, and so on, but if you leave
out the right way to cleaning your face then you might neglect the use of these products in the first
place.
Dr. Nicholas Perricone, MD, emphasizes that it is a common point of confusion. He speaks on how it
should be correctly done and what people are unconsciously doing wrong.
Whether you are in your teens, 20s or have mature skin, the basics are the same: To avoid irritation,
stay away from scrubbing grains, abrasive pads/washcloths, alcohol based toners and astringents.
These can disturb the normal skin pH and produce inflammation and dryness that will age and damage
the skin.
It is also not a good thing to wash your face with hot water because the temperature will cause your
face to get rid of its needed natural oils that will keep the skin from being parched. It is much better to
go for either cold water or something lukewarm.
Emily Orofino also lists on PopSugar.com makeup mistakes that she has noticed over time. The first
to take attention to are the brushes you need for makeup in the first place.
No matter what the situation, it is important to keep your makeup brushes clean. When your makeup
brushes are not cleaned regularly, you are at a risk of breaking out or messing up your future looks.
Everyone has to go through this, even professionals.
Another one that is commonly observed is the foundation application process. Of course, it is
important to know what shade is the best for us. The problem lies on where we test the shade.
Orofino sheds some light on a common mistake that is testing the shade on the back of our hand.
When testing the shade on the

Self-Victimization In John Updike s A P
The Consequence of Self Victimization in John Updike s A P
John Updike was a prolific American literary author during the mid 20th century. As a resident of the
small town of Ipswich, Massachusetts, Updike s real life environment staged the background of rural
coastal Americana in his 1961 short story A P. This setting introduces the main character Sammy, a
nineteen year old cashier at the popular grocery store known as the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea
Company. A teenager on the cusp of adulthood, Sammy s perception and attitude toward his
customers, a provocative girl, and his store manager, eventually lead to his downfall at the A P
grocery.
Sammy s sentiment of customers is clearly evident when he mistakenly rings up a box of crackers a
second time at the opening of the story. This seemingly innocent mistake by Sammy results in an
outburst by a shopper that he describes as an old witch in her fifties that had been enthusiastically

Synopsis Of The Film Rosebud
Summary of the Film 1. The contributors to the film are Orson Welles and Herman J. Mankiewicz.
Welles is the director and writer, and Mankiewicz is also one of the writers. 2. The main characters are
Orson Welles (Charles Kane), Joseph Cotten (Jedediah Leland), and Dorothy Comingore (Susan
Alexander Kane). 3. The main source of conflict is Kane trying to hide his affair with Susan from the
print media. He does not want the scandal to ruin his chances of becoming governor of New York.
Another conflict is a reporter trying to discover what the meaning of Kane s last word, Rosebud, is. 4.
A reporter has been assigned to discover the significance of Charles Kane s last word, Rosebud. The
reporter takes a look back at Kane s life to dissect his political career and love affair to find the
answer. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main symbol that reoccurs in the film is a sled. The first sled is shown at the beginning of the film
when Kane, as a child, is playing on it in the snow. This sled is a major part of Kane s childhood
because this specific sled made him feel joyous and lighthearted. The fuss about his last murmured
word, Rosebud, is the name of Kane s sled; it was meaningful to his life and is an important aspect of
the film. The sled was later shown when Kane s belongings were burned soon after he died. The sled
represented Kane s happiness and innocence. The film s sound effects and instrumental music range
from soft to loud, depending on the scenario. The music used is consistent with the situations that
occur. For example, the music playing while young Charles Kane is being told that he has to go away
with his mother s banker is smooth and then becomes intense. During this scene, the viewer can hear a
combination of instruments such as flutes, violins, and tubas. The powerful instrumental music lasts
for a couple of minutes to emphasize how upsetting the news is for Kane. In general, the sound effects
and music accentuate the emotions the characters are expressing or trying to

Running Head: CASE STUDIES: CHAPTER 11 AND 12 MGMT305 1004B 05 Case Studies:
Chapter 11 and 12 October 31, 2010 Abstract Technological advances in the internet arena have come
on rapidly and with a vengeance. As more people are learning the true capabilities of such a monster,
more and more businesses are finding ways to harness the technology and use it to their advantage. As
with anything there can be issues that arise, wires get crosses and people get angry. Today s
technology will ultimately set the stage for tomorrow s business model. Chapter 11 Managing With

Although there is some interest in the potential that Sense proposes, there are ethical concerns as to
the information that businesses will have access to. Do you feel that the privacy risks surrounding
Citysense are significant? Would you sign up to use Sense Networks services? Why or why not? I am
not one who likes everyone to know everything about me. I am somewhat personal and only divulge
information at my discretion. Having said that, if this application is one that requires a user to allow
access, then, I do not see privacy issues being a real issue. Personally I would not sign up for their
service because I do not want the stores I patron to know that much about me. They are already getting
my money; why do they need more? I do think if Sense put out an application that was strictly for cell
phones carried by children then I would consider it. I want my children to be safe and if something
were to happen, an application as the one mentioned, would be very useful. Chapter 12: Too Many
Bumped Fliers: Why? (p. 459) Is the decision support system being used by airlines to overbook

customers. Airlines, as well as all businesses, are in the business of making money. Airlines have to

Comparison Between Thirteen Reasons Why And A Painted House
In both of the books, Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher and A Painted House by John Grisham there
were one or more characters who portrayed signs of underachievement and became reconciled with
obstacles throughout the book. In A Painted House, the readers are introduced to a very young man by
the name of Luke Chandler, the protagonist in this story. Until that fall of 1952, Luke Chandler had
never told a single lie or kept a single secret. During the book we are shown time and time again
where Luke encounters things where he could potentially devastate lives and change his families and
towns fortune forever if he were to ever speak about them. The Chandlers farm eighty acres of cotton
that they rent, and when the cotton is ready they hire an abundance of Mexicans with an terrifying
looking individual called Cowboy and also a family from the Ozarks also referred to as hill people that

otoscopic examination was conducted using WelchAllyn otoscope to ensure the external ear canal is
cleared from occlusion of earwax and has intact tympanic membrane. In addition, collapsing ear canal

Points of View Commentary
Points of View Commentary
Points of View , written by Lucinda Roy, is a poem that features different points of view (as the title
suggests) on the subject of water: those of women collecting water in, what can be assumed to be, an
African country and those of a person living in a modernised (possibly a Western ) country.
Furthermore, Roy seems to be critical of the aforementioned Western lifestyle and this poem presents
an underlying moral that everybody should be grateful for what they have, regardless of how basic
those things are. Roy s poem is comprised of two main stanzas; the first of which details the women s
daily struggle to provide water for their families. The term scoop up evokes an image of a woman
scooping up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is interesting how some of the narrator s Western like education seeps through into the stanza; now,
in contrast to the first stanza, there are terms such as the children jumping not through water , but from
element to element (air to water) and imagery of diamond drops shooting along trajectories too long
for me to measure , as opposed to the first stanza s fairly basic lexical choice. Overall, this poem
displays two different points of view surrounding water those of an assumed Western woman and
African woman (I feel that it is safe to assume that the narrator is a woman, since there is a lot of
references to women in the first stanza thus setting the tone for the rest of the poem). As we can see,
the two views are vastly different but it is as though the narrator questions her own views of water and
seeks answers from the people who value water the most; something that would be a somewhat
humbling experience, I m sure. Finally, I would say that this poem is very relevant to today many
people living in a Western country do seem to take water for granted, and this poem seems very
critical of that, as there are people who have to struggle to obtain what is considered one of life s most
basic

Journal Entry Reflection
In last week s journal entry I stated that this week PVEPD would be conducting active shooter
training, but the training is postponed for now. During this week s shifts, I finished the putting
together the emergency operation plan binders, cleaned the briefing room, and went to the department

Tuesday s shift at the shooting in the basement of the police department. The shooting range which is
located underneath the department and can be accessed through the parking garage. There are two

In the kitchen, I washed the dishes that were in the sink and made a fresh pot of coffee. I also wiped

may affect you as a citizen.
The affordable care Act became law in 2010 and expected to bring healthcare to most Americans at an
affordable rate. The law requires all citizens and legal residents to be covered by either public or
private insurance. The availability of insurance reduces the price of care faced by the health service
consumers; and it will be directly connected with an increase of the demand for health care and better

Chocolate Syrup and Milk
Introduction: We were testing the solubility of the chocolate syrup brands while being stirred in whole
milk. Our purpose is to see which of the major brands of syrup is most soluble and for what reason.
This is important to our daily lives because it makes us aware of what types of materials we are
ingesting and this applies to our experiment by seeing which of the ingredients take longer to dissolve.
Information known is all brands are known to dissolve in milk but they all use different ingredients
and they will cause a difference in the time it takes to dissolve. New information that will be gained
from this experiment is which ingredients inside chocolate syrup will take the longest to dissolve,
from the type of sugars in it to the syrups. We expected the Nesquik to dissolve the fastest because it
did not contain any high fructose corn syrup while the other brand of syrup did. Also we observed
from the syrups that nesquik was very thin, while the others were very thick and slow in behaviour.
Our hypothesis is that the Nesquik will disintegrate the fastest in the milk because it lacks High
Fructose Corn Syrup.
Materials Procedures:
Materials:
1. Hershey s Chocolate Syrup
2. Nesquik Chocolate Syrup
3. Great Value Chocolate Syrup
4. Any ONE of brand whole milk
5. Little Measuring cup
6. 3 cups
7. strainer
8. spoon
9. Large bowl
10. Teaspoon measurer
Procedures:
1. Make sure we have all of the materials with us.

Human Immunodeficiency Virus ( Hiv )
HIV Crisis Human immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is one of the most important health challenges in
the world, because it can be preventive. In the United States over 1.2 million people are infected with
HIV, and roughly 1 in 5 people are unaware they are infected (CDC, 2014) One of the best and most
effective ways to reduce the spread of the virus is by creating HIV awareness, by implementing
intervention programs in high risk HIV communities. This paper will provide an overall view of HIV,
risk factors/health behaviors and analysis on HIV intervention programs, and the responsibilities of
health educators.
Overview of the health issue
The disease HIV, also known as human immunodeficiency virus, is a virus that is transmitted through
bodily fluids that cause an attack on the body s immune system and destroys T cells, which help
defend the immune system from infectious diseases (CDC, 2015 A). HIV is a prevalent public health
issue because it is a preventable disease, but over 1.2 million Americans are living with the disease
and the numbers keep increasing yearly (CDC, 2011 A). Also, 1 out of every 5 American living with
HIV are unaware that they have the disease (CDC, 2011 B). Studies show that in 2014 there were
around 51,000 new cases of HIV diagnosis (CDC, 2011 B) Adult and adolescent males from the ages
of 13 and 24 years old make up 81% of all the HIV cases (CDC, 2014). The main targeted groups for
HIV are, 1 in 6 gay/bisexual men, 1 in 20 African American men, 1 in 48

Haybine Descriptive Writing
As my alarm clock yells at me to get up, I turn over in bed and see that it is only 6am. It s a necessity
to rise and shine before the crack of dawn on days like these...
When you re working at the farm during the summer, you are always pressed for time. It seems like
you can never get everything you want done that day all done. But you have to try at least, so the loud
ring of my old alarm clock rings right around 6 am every morning. It seems as if the cows and
chickens know that it is time to get fed, because they are all bellering and clucking away. This is the
best sound to wake up to, the sound of the cows bellowing up in the feedlot ready to get fed for the
long summer hours of the sun s appearance during the summer. I get dressed into ... Show more

Every Time after your done cutting hay, you have a lot left to do. First of all, you have to pressure
wash it off. With going through all of those gopher mounds, the haybine gets really jammed packed
with hard dirt and clay and rocks. This by itself takes at least an hour to get done because there is hay
in all the nooks and crannies of the haybine also, so you have to find the hay and try to blow it out.
This is actually a lot harder than it sounds, just take my word for it. Once you are one step closer to
being done, you have to fold the haybine in and park it in the machinery lot. Now folding it in with
two people is quite simple. But when you only have yourself to try and fold it in, it becomes about
100% harder. There is a rop you have to pull and it is spring loaded, so you have to quickly pull the
rope, sprint onto the tractor, and back onto the block that you place benefit the tire of the haybine.
Like I said before, a lot harder than it may seem. After you try for the 5th time to run fast enough to
the tractor and back into the block, you finally get the haybine folded in. You can go park it in the
machinery lot, and go fuel up the tractor out of the 500 gallon diesel fuel tank that is on the farm.
Once you re all fueled up for the next time you need the tractor, you can finally go back the tractor in
the leanto that is connected to the grainery and pull the rod to kill the tractor engine. Now you have to
go feed your money makers once again. The cows of course are the money makers. Feed the cows for
the second time for the day and you are finally done for the

Certified Public Accountant ( Cpa )
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is the most important certification, and the highest
professional designation for accountants in the United States. This certification allows accountants to
prove their profound expertise and knowledge in accounting field upon successful competition of a set
of requirements and ultimately certifying them as qualified accountants. Among other distinguished
certificates available to professional accountants that would be just as beneficial for their accounting
career depending on personal preference are: Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA),
Certificate in Financial Forensics (SFF), and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). As far as my personal
career achievements go, obtaining the CPA certificate is my immediate goal; pursuing the CGMA
certificate is part of my ideal plan.
CPA Membership Requirements In order to be licensed in the state of Virginia, a CPA candidate needs
to meet a few requirements set forth by Virginia Board of Accountancy (VBOA). According to
VBOA, an applicant must first meet the 3 E s which are Education, Exam, and Experience.
Prior to sitting for the CPA exam, a candidate should prove to have the required educational
credentials. Having higher education with a minimum of 120 semester hours would qualify an
applicant to sit for the CPA exam. However, to ultimately obtain the CPA certificate, recent changes in
VBOA policy clearly state that an applicant must have a total of 150 credit

The Curse Of Humanity Is The Inescapable Presence Of...
I carry a red sweater, a fair amount of cough drop and gum wrappers, pencil shavings, and 3
calculators, 2 of which I rarely use. If someone were to weigh the contents of my backpack, there
would be significant error in the approximation. The curse of humanity is the inescapable presence of
sentimentality and emotion, things which often latch onto physical objects. So in measuring the things
I carry, one would have to take into account the burdens which cannot be seen by the limited scope of
the human eye. The greatest weights I bear are attached to the smallest of articles; a sunscreen bottle,
an albuterol inhaler, and two pills of ibuprofen. I carry the knowledge of my inherent flaws and the
insecurities that come from having these inadequacies through all of my darkest moments, and
sometimes even my brightest. To be reminded of the breadth of human flaw is humbling to an extent.
When the things which I carry, like my albuterol and sunscreen bottle, are constant reminders of my
own weaknesses, then this humbling idea becomes a destructive one. The fact that the albuterol
inhaler treats an incurable disease is not what makes my burden so heavy. The albuterol inhaler calls
to my mind the idea that I am unable to change the intrinsic parts about my person. While this may
seem to be an obvious burden, one which we must all face, it is nonetheless a burden that can at times
inhibit self confidence. The inhaler reminds me that there are things which asthma prevents

  • 3. The Bible Passage Judges Chapter Fourteen I have selected the Bible passage Judges Chapter Fourteen verses One Twenty and have analyzed and interpreted this specific passage by using the King James Version Study Bible. I have also read the article, A Black Feminist Approach to Biblical Studies by Wilda Gafney, which also interprets and analyzes this specific Bible passage. After interpreting this passage myself and then reading Gafney s work, I can see that we had both seen the story pretty similarly except for that she noticed some specific details in the passage that failed to catch my attention. Her points are strong and compelling but is she looking too deeply into the story? The Book of Judges is thought to be possibly written by Samuel and the purpose of this book is stated to be, to show that God s judgement against sin is certain, and his forgiveness of sin and restoration to relationship are just as certain for those who repent (KJV Study Bible). Judges Chapter Fourteen verses One Twenty is specifically the story of Samson s Feast and Riddle. The author of this passage (thought to be Samuel) is saying that you should not use God s blessings for selfish purposes. It is a special gift for God to give you these strengths and abilities and to use them selfishly is robbing God, the church, and his fellow believers (KJV Study Bible). As you use the gifts God has given you, you should be sure that you are helping others as God would want you too, not just yourself. This specific Bible passage tells the story ... Nt1330 Unit 3 Assignment 4 Command Line CM 523 Homework 4: Command Line Bochao Sun Nov. 14, 2017 When I encountered command line during last week s class, I found it a little confusing and aloof . I was totally unfamiliar with its purpose and syntax, and the interface is merely characters of same font and size. I thought it is something only for computer science students and does not have anything to do with web design and interaction. Things changed a lot as I learn to use it. In fact, such flat interface excludes all graphical display formats in regular commands thus makes it clearer to find the target directory and file by looking their names and types (e.g. style.css) returned after the ls command. It should occupy less RAM of the computer than Finder because it does not render figure out icons and thumbnails for all files ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It also takes time to learn and get used to the set of commands that make sense in CLI. What s more, contents are permanently deleted after the rm or rm r command, which may cause loss of important documents by mistake. Another detail that I pay attention to is that in Finder, I can preview most files by pressing the Space button and switch the files with arrow buttons on keyboard, while previewing is not available on CLI. I need to open it with an open command. In addition, CLI once surprised me by making reasonable suggestions. Alexis Miller First Year Seminar Dr. Pinter October 20th, 2014 Singapore Many countries go through periods of extreme poverty and poor education during the beginning of their colonization. These periods are most often brought about by outside countries trying to impose themselves and their cultures on these new found countries. The people of the new found countries are subdued under a mother country and have to live by the mother country s rules. Only perhaps a thousand people inhabited the island of Singapore by the colonial era. Because of the lack of people at the time, Britain was able to easily colonize Singapore in 1819. Singapore was founded by British colonial administrator Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles. The country was then deeded to the English East India Company in 1824 and in 1826 the country was united with Melaka and Penang to form the Presidency of the Straits Settlements, ruled by British administrators. The colonizers came into Singapore looking to expand their trade with China and also to prevent the advancements of the Dutch. The port at Singapore flourished immensely directly after colonization by Britain. The British turned Singapore into a major commercial center because of its location on the narrow passage between the Indian Ocean and the South China Sea (Funk Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia). The British port at Singapore became an important center for trade with the Chinese. The use of a free trade port in Singapore attracted many diverse immigrants, especially those attempting to escape war. Between 1880 and 1940 colonial Singapore attracted tens of thousands of Chinese immigrant laborers, brought to serve its rapidly growing economy. This caused an immense increase in the population and more tension in the country. Every group within Singapore wanted to be able to trade within the flourishing port. Each immigrant ... High School Dropout Rates The APA is the leading scientific and professional organization representing psychology in the United States, with a mission to advance the creation, communication, and application of psychological knowledge to benefit society and improve people s lives. For these reasons, it is not surprising that the American Psychological Association published an article in May of 2013, bringing to light the impact of family and community poverty on high school dropouts (Rumberger, 2013). According to the APA, an estimated 1.1 million individuals did not earn a high school diploma in 2012, and unfortunately the drop out and the drop out s family are not the only ones affected, but the decision to drop out can also affect all of society as well. With lasting consequences, even after earning a GED, it is safe to say that something must be done to reduce the current dropout rate of approximately 7,000 people per day. Why might not earning a high school diploma be such a big problem? To start, compared to high school graduates, they are less likely to find a job and earn a living wage (Rumberger, 2013). • 15. Persuasive Essay On How To Make Makeup With a million different shades, a bountiful of techniques, and the hidden technicalities, makeup will always be a struggle. The face serves as a canvas, and like all kinds of artwork, it has its own share of mistakes that you cannot help but make. Makeup is not expected to be perfect on the first try, so it is okay. Below you will read some of the most commonly made makeup mistakes and mishaps. Before putting anything on your face, you have to make sure your face is as clean as it can be. Even in this process people make a number of mistakes. You may have all the products you need, moisturizer, cream, face masks, and so on, but if you leave out the right way to cleaning your face then you might neglect the use of these products in the first place. Dr. Nicholas Perricone, MD, emphasizes that it is a common point of confusion. He speaks on how it should be correctly done and what people are unconsciously doing wrong. Whether you are in your teens, 20s or have mature skin, the basics are the same: To avoid irritation, stay away from scrubbing grains, abrasive pads/washcloths, alcohol based toners and astringents. These can disturb the normal skin pH and produce inflammation and dryness that will age and damage the skin. It is also not a good thing to wash your face with hot water because the temperature will cause your face to get rid of its needed natural oils that will keep the skin from being parched. It is much better to go for either cold water or something lukewarm. Emily Orofino also lists on PopSugar.com makeup mistakes that she has noticed over time. The first to take attention to are the brushes you need for makeup in the first place. No matter what the situation, it is important to keep your makeup brushes clean. When your makeup brushes are not cleaned regularly, you are at a risk of breaking out or messing up your future looks. Everyone has to go through this, even professionals. Another one that is commonly observed is the foundation application process. Of course, it is important to know what shade is the best for us. The problem lies on where we test the shade. Orofino sheds some light on a common mistake that is testing the shade on the back of our hand. When testing the shade on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When she finally locates her fancy herring snacks to purchase, Sammy further imagines that Queenie lives a high society lifestyle consisting of sophisticated snacks and cocktails; items that are far more elegant than the cheap beer and cartoon stenciled glasses at his own gatherings. The purpose of the experiment was to find out which metal is used to create post 1982 pennies. Pre 1982 pennies were made out of copper but then the metal used for making pennies changed. The metal used to create pre 1982 pennies was copper. Since the metal used to make pennies changed the density of post 1982 changed. The predicted density was believed to have something close to the metal zinc. Which will show that the post 1982 pennies are made out of zinc. During the experiment, the mass of the post 1982 pennies were found using an electric balance and the volume was found by water displacement. The pennies mass and volumes were recorded. • 25. Points of View Commentary Points of View Commentary Points of View , written by Lucinda Roy, is a poem that features different points of view (as the title suggests) on the subject of water: those of women collecting water in, what can be assumed to be, an African country and those of a person living in a modernised (possibly a Western ) country. Furthermore, Roy seems to be critical of the aforementioned Western lifestyle and this poem presents an underlying moral that everybody should be grateful for what they have, regardless of how basic those things are. Roy s poem is comprised of two main stanzas; the first of which details the women s daily struggle to provide water for their families. The term scoop up evokes an image of a woman scooping up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is interesting how some of the narrator s Western like education seeps through into the stanza; now, in contrast to the first stanza, there are terms such as the children jumping not through water , but from element to element (air to water) and imagery of diamond drops shooting along trajectories too long for me to measure , as opposed to the first stanza s fairly basic lexical choice. Overall, this poem displays two different points of view surrounding water those of an assumed Western woman and African woman (I feel that it is safe to assume that the narrator is a woman, since there is a lot of references to women in the first stanza thus setting the tone for the rest of the poem). As we can see, the two views are vastly different but it is as though the narrator questions her own views of water and seeks answers from the people who value water the most; something that would be a somewhat humbling experience, I m sure. Finally, I would say that this poem is very relevant to today many people living in a Western country do seem to take water for granted, and this poem seems very critical of that, as there are people who have to struggle to obtain what is considered one of life s most basic ... • 28. Chocolate Syrup and Milk Introduction: We were testing the solubility of the chocolate syrup brands while being stirred in whole milk. Our purpose is to see which of the major brands of syrup is most soluble and for what reason. This is important to our daily lives because it makes us aware of what types of materials we are ingesting and this applies to our experiment by seeing which of the ingredients take longer to dissolve. Information known is all brands are known to dissolve in milk but they all use different ingredients and they will cause a difference in the time it takes to dissolve. New information that will be gained from this experiment is which ingredients inside chocolate syrup will take the longest to dissolve, from the type of sugars in it to the syrups. We expected the Nesquik to dissolve the fastest because it did not contain any high fructose corn syrup while the other brand of syrup did. Also we observed from the syrups that nesquik was very thin, while the others were very thick and slow in behaviour. Our hypothesis is that the Nesquik will disintegrate the fastest in the milk because it lacks High Fructose Corn Syrup. Materials Procedures: Materials: 1. Hershey s Chocolate Syrup 2. In the United States over 1.2 million people are infected with HIV, and roughly 1 in 5 people are unaware they are infected (CDC, 2014) One of the best and most effective ways to reduce the spread of the virus is by creating HIV awareness, by implementing intervention programs in high risk HIV communities. This paper will provide an overall view of HIV, risk factors/health behaviors and analysis on HIV intervention programs, and the responsibilities of health educators. Overview of the health issue The disease HIV, also known as human immunodeficiency virus, is a virus that is transmitted through bodily fluids that cause an attack on the body s immune system and destroys T cells, which help defend the immune system from infectious diseases (CDC, 2015 A). HIV is a prevalent public health issue because it is a preventable disease, but over 1.2 million Americans are living with the disease and the numbers keep increasing yearly (CDC, 2011 A). Also, 1 out of every 5 American living with HIV are unaware that they have the disease (CDC, 2011 B). Studies show that in 2014 there were around 51,000 new cases of HIV diagnosis (CDC, 2011 B) Adult and adolescent males from the ages of 13 and 24 years old make up 81% of all the HIV cases (CDC, 2014). With going through all of those gopher mounds, the haybine gets really jammed packed with hard dirt and clay and rocks. This by itself takes at least an hour to get done because there is hay in all the nooks and crannies of the haybine also, so you have to find the hay and try to blow it out. This is actually a lot harder than it sounds, just take my word for it. Once you are one step closer to being done, you have to fold the haybine in and park it in the machinery lot. Now folding it in with two people is quite simple. But when you only have yourself to try and fold it in, it becomes about 100% harder. There is a rop you have to pull and it is spring loaded, so you have to quickly pull the rope, sprint onto the tractor, and back onto the block that you place benefit the tire of the haybine. Like I said before, a lot harder than it may seem. After you try for the 5th time to run fast enough to the tractor and back into the block, you finally get the haybine folded in. You can go park it in the machinery lot, and go fuel up the tractor out of the 500 gallon diesel fuel tank that is on the farm. If someone were to weigh the contents of my backpack, there would be significant error in the approximation. The curse of humanity is the inescapable presence of sentimentality and emotion, things which often latch onto physical objects. So in measuring the things I carry, one would have to take into account the burdens which cannot be seen by the limited scope of the human eye. The greatest weights I bear are attached to the smallest of articles; a sunscreen bottle, an albuterol inhaler, and two pills of ibuprofen. I carry the knowledge of my inherent flaws and the insecurities that come from having these inadequacies through all of my darkest moments, and sometimes even my brightest. To be reminded of the breadth of human flaw is humbling to an extent. When the things which I carry, like my albuterol and sunscreen bottle, are constant reminders of my own weaknesses, then this humbling idea becomes a destructive one. The fact that the albuterol inhaler treats an incurable disease is not what makes my burden so heavy. The albuterol inhaler calls to my mind the idea that I am unable to change the intrinsic parts about my person.
