Code Talkers Essay
In this precursor research paper, I will conduct a study of the code talkers from WWII. The purpose of
this study is to remind other colleagues the significance of the Navajos throughout World War II. I will
use the following articles for my research, World War II Time Line (Nationalgeographic.com), Semper
Fidelis, Code talkers (Adam Jevec), Memorandum Regarding The Enlistment of Navajo
(archives.gov), Navajo Code Talkers And World War II 1943 (recordsofrights.org), and lastly the
Unbreakable: Remembering the Code Talkers (Hilary Parkinson). The main idea of my paper would
be an insight look on who the code talkers were. Whose idea was it to form this group? What role did
the Navajos play in World War II, and why the Navajos? The first article that stood out to me was
Semper Fidelis, Code Talkers (Adam Jevec). The article mentions the history of code talkers, the
reason why they were created, and the goal that they achieved. The ... Show more content on

In other words, without the Navajos, we wouldn t have been able to defeat the Japanese after they had
bomb Pearl Harbor. The second article, Memorandum Regarding The Enlistment of Navajo
(archives.org) states, Philip Johnston was the initiator of the Marine Corps program to enlist and train
the Navajos as messengers. Although Johnston was not a Navajo, he grew up on a Navajo reservation
as the son of a missionary and became familiar with the people and their language. This quote
illustrated us, who exactly came up with the idea of the code talkers. Furthermore, Phillip Johnston
was the mastermind of code talkers, even though he didn t speak the

The Interlopers By Ulrich Von Gradwitz And George Znaeym
In The Interlopers, Ulrich von Gradwitz and George Znaeym are descendants of wealthy families, who
have been in dispute over some land for some years. In Ulrich s grandfather s time, his family used the
court to seize the land from the neighboring Znaeym family, who the Gradwitzs believed illegally
possessed the land. The Znaeyms never accepted the court s decision, and have continued to hunt in
the forest patch. Georg continues to hunt on the strip of land at the edge of Ulrich s forest because he
believes it should still belong to his family. In Two Friends, on the other hand, Morissot and Sauvage s
relationship was based off of their friendship. For example, they would often spend half of the day

United Parcel Service s Ipo
United Parcel Service s IPO In any organization, financial analysis is one of the most basic parts of
evaluation of a company operation in any business environment. As businesses operate, it is very
important that the managers know the real environment for which a firm carries out its activities. The
competitions evident in the market are substantial to the decision making process of a firm. Also,
firms need to give much attention to the market forces of a particular industry to make sure that they
are able to make these forces turn to their advantage. This paper will indicate the UPS s bussiness
enviroment, porter s five forces, trends in the package delivery industry ,factors for success in the UPS
s industry, UPS s relative strengths, the appropriate benchmark companies for valuation purposes, and
the UPS s accounting policies and methods,. The UPS company is a multinational company and this
means that the company needs to give attention to the different external factors like politics, economy,
social, and technology. UPS needs to give attention of the political governments of the countries
within which they operate. Because of the different political instability that has been seen in some of
these countries, the company must invest in the countries which are politically stable. For example,
the company recently declined venture into some countries in Africa because the political ambience in
these countries were quite unstable. In the event that these countries

Twyla Tharp Biography
Hi prof. Dibble:
I was thinking about that old fashion saying, Break a leg as a form of good luck. Perhaps it was for the
best not to be part of this last dance. Although, I know I am missing out, especially when we are trying
to emulate some of Twyla Tharp techniques and influences. She is such an interesting choreographer. I
never had heard of silent dances or thought about combining ballet, which is more traditional, with
modern dance, yet I think it s quite genius.
I just wanted to attach the small intro that I will be reading tomorrow to introduce my group s project
tomorrow. I also wanted to thank you for being so understanding and kind yesterday when the incident
occurred I guess I was more into it than my body was ready for. But

The Effects Of Domestic Violence On Domestic Abuse
Susan Cisneros
English 1301
Lacina Taylor
2 December 2014
Stop The Abuse Underreported and underestimated, domestic abuse rips families apart every single
day. Domestic violence comes in mainly five different forms, physical, sexual, psychological,
emotional, and economic. This violence ruins families, demoralizes the victims, and the public
downplays the household terrorism that goes on every day. Generally thought of as taboo, the public
belittles and humorizes domestic abuse as a way to deal with it, that avoidance must come to an end.
The five forms of domestic violence are economic, emotional, physical, psychological and sexual. The
most commonly known physical violence occurs when a partner or parent inflicts injury such as
hitting, stabbing, and shoving. Physical violence also takes place when food or fluids, medical care
and other sources that maintain health get withheld. The most commonly recognized form of sexual
violence is rape, or non consensual sexual intercourse. Sexual and physical violence oftentimes both
wind up reported by the same victim. Some individuals actively engage in sexually abusive lifestyles,
bondage, dominance, sadism and masochism, or BDSM is a wildly growing underground culture in
America. It focuses on dehumanizing the submissive partner and empowering the dominant one.
Certain pop culture books and films such as Fifty Shades of Grey have been giving this type of
lifestyle a veil and treating it like a glamorous relationship to be

National Incident Management System (NIMS)
After September 11, 2001, the Department of Homeland of Security was formed in response to the
terrorist attacks. Out of the birth of the agencies formed, the National Incident Management System
(NIMS) was created to allow clear allocation of resources and a systematic approach to emergency
management. The system can be effective in many responses where many levels of government and
response are imminent to respond to the disaster. Many of these agencies are emergency management,
police, fire, health, and EMS from all levels of government. NIMS can be used on any type of incident
and of any size or scope in nature. In Smith County, an E 4 tornado touched down in Stadtown
leveling many of the homes and the shopping mall (Walsh, D.W., et al, 2012). Command was
established by the local on the scene within minutes of touchdown. Given the impact of a potential of
900 residents in the area, there could be multiple levels of response needed to respond to and recover
from this incident. Given that the response could include many agencies from many levels of
government and specialties, the National Incident Management System (NIMS) would be instituted.
The NIMS allows local, state, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

make decisions for the community. Other support agencies could include road departments, county
engineers, and fiscal officers. The NIMS would allow for these agencies to be able to understand and

Alternative Energy Sources For Fossil Fuels
Twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, from the time we are born until the time we die we are
consuming energy. Currently the majority of this energy comes from fossil fuels (i.e. coal, natural gas,
and oil). Fossil fuels made up eighty seven percent of the energy consumed worldwide in 2012
(Gonzalez Lucky). There are many people who do not believe there is an energy crisis, or that there is
anything wrong with depending on fossil fuels, however fossil fuels are non renewable, which means
once they are gone we are unable to create more. In addition, the carbon that is located in fossil fuels
and released from when used for energy, contributes to the rising global temperature (Maehlum,
2013). This is not the only detrimental effect of fossil fuels, but is perhaps the most serious. The
alternate option is to use alternative energy sources (i.e. wind, solar, nuclear, and hydroelectric). These
sources are considered renewable, because they are able to replenish and restore themselves over a
short period of time (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency). These sources involve using specialized
technology to harness Earth s natural energy and convert it into a form that we are able to use. While
alternative energy sources can still have a slight effect on the environment, they generally have less of
an impact than fossil fuels (Union of Concerned Scientists). They also have many benefits including
creating more jobs, making energy more affordable, and requiring less material

Power Bases Kim Jong Il
Power Bases
Coercive Power: Kim Jong Il
A coercive leader leads through fear and intimidation. The key fundamental in this leadership style is
making your followers aware that their failure will ultimately cause some form of punishment. This
can take many forms and has been demonstrated on many scales through history. Your boss at work
that punishes you with extra work should you fail to succeed at a task is one example. I believe the
most coercive leader in our world today is Kim Jong Il. Kim Jong Il has been the Supreme
Commander of North Korea since 1997. His leadership style was shaped through a strict military
background. His beliefs in himself are somewhat vain to most, but the people of North Korea will

The population accepts him as a member of their family because of the fear he instilled in past
generations. I dare say he went so far with his coercive style that he no longer even needs to be that
way. The people were forced for so long to accept him as their leader and supreme commander that
they no longer have any other thought in their head. He has totally blocked all internet and media
transmissions into North Korea. No news gets in and you can guarantee that very little gets out.
Outsiders are not welcome to visit North Korea unless they are escorted by officials of the
Government everywhere they go. While his coercive style may have shaped his rule in North Korea it
has in some form shifted into a more Legitimate Power. While generations past may have feared Kim
Jong Il the population of North Korea today loves him as their leader. Where some societies look to
religion to fill their spiritual needs, North Koreans look to Kim Jong Il for the same satisfaction. While
he may have had no right to rule in the beginning and his coercive style solidified his position he is
certainly showing Legitimate Power in today s world. It will be a terrible loss for the people of North
Korea when they lose Kim, but at the same time it may be the best thing that ever happened to them.
While their minds are warped from years of coercive abuse they now accept that Kim Jong Il has the
right, by virtue of position, to make demands and expect

Islamic Law ( Shari A Law
Islamic law ( shari a law ) is an ever evolving and eminently flexible system of religious and legal
reasoning that Muslim jurists have developed and refined over the course of nearly 1400 years. Many
scholars have pointed out that the sharia is not formally a code nor a set of rules. It is a broad
understanding of god s perfect will. Shari a is a principle that govern the behavior of Muslim
individuals and discuss their duties. In order to understand the shari a,, Muslim jurists use fiqh, their
understanding of the god s law, to issue rulings that then scholars consider to be the closest meaning of
the shari a. usul al fiqh which is the process to understand the shari a contains four major bases: The
Quran, which Muslims believe to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Shia Muslims believe that Sunni collections of hadith are unreliable because they accept the
caliphates Abu Baker, Omar, and Uthman, and they just trust what Imams transmit. Shia Muslims
have four different collections of Hadith al Kafi, Tahdhib al ahkam, Al Istibsar fi ma ikhtalaf min al
akhbar and Man la yahduruh al faqih. Both Sunni and Shia Muslims rely on their collections of hadith
as primary source beside the Quran to understand the Islamic law. However, these two sources do not
address all issues and topics in life. Muslim jurists have developed other methods which use the other
two foundations qiyas and ijma to issue a decision for an issue. Qiya is a principle that use analogical
reasons to judge a new topic based on a similar one from the Quran or Sunna. For example, Islam
prohibit Muslims from drinking wine. Jurists refer to this prohibition using analogical reasons to judge
other intoxicating drinks like beer. If finding a solution to an issue cannot be made by an analogy, then
other categories can be applied to select an acceptable solution. For example, some scholars use
Istihsan which means deciding in favor of the public interest. Scholars efforts to understand and
analyze the bases of shari a to elaborate a law is called Ijtihad, and not everyone is qualified to
interpret the sources. A Muslim jurist had to know the Qur an and the hadith very well, and how to
interpret these sources as well as the

The Act Of Male Circumcision
The act of male circumcision is a practice dating centuries. Accounts of circumcision can be found all
over the world with many different myths and legends. There are many different reasons why this
antediluvian ritual takes place. In ancient times, circumcision was regarded as a rite of passage. The
act was a symbolic transformation from adolescence to adulthood. Many other ancient cultures
participated in circumcising as a means for eliminating masturbation. Today, circumcision is
performed for very different reasons. Parents who circumcise may do so out of religious beliefs. Some
may circumcise because of social pressure. Many parents feel an obligation to circumcise in order for
their child fit in . Others circumcise on the basis of health and hygiene concerns. Some even
circumcise out of pure ignorance about the issues that arise from the procedure. While the motives for
circumcision have constantly changed, the practice still remains. The effects of circumcision are
damaging to the male child s body and mind. Circumcision is a permanent decision forced upon a
child with no say in the matter. These days, it is no longer considered a rite of passage or a sacrifice
needed for salvation. The health benefits circumcision claims seem to be under investigated and
minimal. So why do Americans still circumcise their children? Perhaps it is the social stigma of
remaining intact or the misguided health concerns. Maybe it is a lack of knowledge about
circumcision. No matter what

John Adams Pursuit Of The American Dream

The American Dream
When people come to America, they come because the want to live the American dream. But what
actually is the American dream? Does it truly exist? When one thinks of the American dream they
instantly think of the Declaration of Independence because they too also believe that all men are
created equal but also believe in the beauty of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. United States
citizens as well as immigrants, believed in what the declaration had said and that it would push them
closer to an experience of the American dream. Though people are excited to move towards a better
life, they become a bit hesitant because they do not know exactly what the American dream is, nor do
they know if all people are granted the same chance towards the American dream due to their age,
race, their social status, traditions and any other factors. John Adams once stated that this American
dream we speak of should give a better life to everyone but only according to their ability. To me this
means that everyone deserves a better life but we cannot just give you everything, you have to show
what you can do, and how far your American dream goes depends on you, your ability, and how hard
you are willing to work. Though your American dream is based upon your ability being African
American holds you back, though you have the ability to do great things you will not get the same
opportunity due to race. Even today

Guilt in Fifth Business by Robertson Davies
Guilt is the regret one experiences when they realise their action was not appropriate according to a
lawful or moral standard. In Fifth Business, by Robertson Davies, guilt was a major theme and was
essential throughout the novel. Davies used the three main characters, Dunstan Ramsay, Boy Staunton,
and Paul Dempster to illustrate the different effects of Mrs. Dempster s incident. The way one is
raised, the key disciplines they have developed and their way of thinking reflects how they deal with
guilt.
Boy Staunton was illustrated to have an interesting attitude. Through the lack of his morals and
principles he felt no guilt after the incident. I threw a snowball at you, and I guess it gave you a good
smack (Robertson Davies, pg. 27.) Boy took no responsibility over his action and blatantly denied the
guilt. Another example that displayed Boy s insensitiveness was when he was involved in a sexual act
with Mabel, a student at his school, at a time period when he was in a relationship with Leola. His
father played a major role in that situation as he bribed Mabel s mother to not involve the authorities.
Boy never apologized or showed discomfort in any way. Lastly, he cheated on Leola, after their
marriage. Leola found a note from one of his admirers and in return Boy stated, There s no reason to
carry on like that, but if you think I intend to be tied down to this sort of thing, you can think again
(pg.178.) Boy was illustrated as quite successful wealth wise, however

Brazil s situation
As per CIA handbook, Since 2003, Brazil has steadily improved macroeconomic stability, building up
foreign reserves, reducing its debt profile by shifting its debt burden toward real denominated and
domestically held instruments, adhering to an inflation target, and committing to fiscal responsibility.
In 2008, Brazil became a net external creditor and two ratings agencies awarded investment grade
status to its debt. After record growth in 2007 and 2008, the onset of the global financial crisis hit
Brazil in September 2008. Brazil s currency and its stock market Bovespa saw large swings as foreign
investors pulled resources out of Brazil. Brazil experienced two quarters of recession, as global
demand for Brazil s commodity based exports dwindled and external credit dried up. However, Brazil
was one of the first emerging markets to begin a recovery. Consumer and investor confidence revived

Age Of Reform In America Essay
American reform movements in the early to mid 1800 amp;#8217;s strived at improving our
developing society. America was growing larger, and with the expanding population, many new ideas
sprang up. Conflicting opinions between the people of the United States caused the emergence of an
Age of Reform, where people tried to change things such as the educational system and women
amp;#8217;s rights. These movements were the result of our nation amp;#8217;s self determination
and interest in improving the society we live in.
Between the 1820 amp;#8217;s and 1860 amp;#8217;s, Americans were trying new things and
promoting different ideas and ways of thinking. Once such idea is that of a utopian society. A utopian

Oneida amp;#8217;s fault lied in the fact that is was easily targeted by critics as an excuse to bypass
conventional monogamy.
Another example of a utopian experiment is the Mormons. The Mormons began when Joseph Smith
published a book called The Book of Mormon. Mormonism began to gain followers, but was never
truly accepted in the United States. Joseph Smith was persecuted due to such Mormon beliefs as
polygamy. After Joseph Smith was arrested and killed, the Mormons found haven in present day Salt
Lake City. There, they created their own form of a utopian society. Although Mormonism is still
around today, it is not in wide practice. Mormonism is another example of people trying to raise the
standard of society for the better.
The Age of Reforms also brought new hope to women amp;#8217;s rights. Women had often played a
lesser role in societies around the world, especially in America. They were never involved in politics
and nearly all women at the time stayed home to take care of the house chores. The women
amp;#8217;s rights movement that arose in the 1920 amp;#8217;s really started during the Age of
Reforms, in the 1800 amp;#8217;s.
The Women amp;#8217;s rights reform began in 1840, at a London convention concerning slavery,
when two abolitionists were turned away because they were women. From that point on Lucretia Mott
and Elizabeth Cady Stanton felt that they need to

for his life. This paved the way for no name Matt Saracen, a sophomore backup who had never seen

receiving his first start ever as a panther. The hard working, small and determined quarterback faces
adversity and leads his panther team to victory even without star running back and offensive
juggernaut Booby Miles. Winchell takes it upon himself to lead his team and show them what he can
do. On the other hand, in the tv series, Matt Saracen is struggling to find confidence in his new role on
the team. I just want to be back up again. He pleads. This is where coach Eric Taylor steps in and
teaches the young quarterback how to work with what he s got, and how to manage a football game.
Saracen in his first start only threw the ball four times, but one pass was a completion for the game

Now it was to kill, or to be killed, (Meirion Susie, 1917) said by one of the marine surviving soldier.
The World war one had created such a loss to many people thanks to Woodrow Wilson and
Ludendorff. The World war one lasted through 1914 till 1918 and the total cost of being thirty billion
dollars. (Random History, n.d.) During the years of the war it was such a struggle for the Germans,
French and the Americans because of the loss to its many people and the struggles the marines had to
go through for their countries peace. In this read and write I will reflect on the author s argument and
how will they support them through out the chapter of Do you want to live forever , in the book of The
Last Days Of Innocence.
Meirion and Susie Harries were the authors of The Last Days Of Innocence. The author s argument or
thesis was the battle had become more psychological rather than strategic in the battle of Belleau
Wood. The reason why I approve with this statement made by the authors is because they continued
analyzing and discussed the struggles and conflicts the marines had to deal with. In this read and write
I will first give you an outline of the topic I ll be discussing. The first topic of the matter of which I
will discuss is the importance characters that were influenced in this chapter and had contributed to

Why I Should Do Or Should I Not
Two things kept going back and forth in my head, should I do or should I not. As walked to my car
from work, I kept starring at my phone thinking an answer would appear on the screen. Then I sat in
my car contemplating for another fifth teen minutes, which felt extremely short knowing that I needed
more time. Out of the blue I heard a voice in my head saying. Do you really want mom to kill you?
Sadly, due to my non conformist personality and being the strong minded one of the family, I stumble
upon this question quite often. Just like all the other times, I went with my impulse and decided to go
for it. On my way there, I was wondering how on earth will I be able to pull this off without my
mother s permission and maybe that was why a thirty minute car ride somehow felt like five.
Finally, I pulled my car into a gravel path and hoped for the best as I walked into the building
nervously. But as I walked closer to the front desk, I felt a sense of ease and I remembered my whole
purpose of being there. Then receptionist asked me, Can I help you? and in returned I said I am here
for Pup Pup. As I following the nice lady to the back, there was huge difference from the waiting room
to where placed the rest of them. The moment I stepped foot behind there, this disgusting odor
instantly hit me and all I heard was something screeching against the medal fences. Not the mention
the atmosphere was awfully unsettling and I couldn t bare to think how these animals live in this

Sociological Explanations of Unequal Distributions of...
Sociology Homework: Examine the sociological explanations of unequal distributions of wealth and
income in contemporary Britain (24 marks)
There are five main sociological explanations of unequal distributions of wealth and income in
contemporary Britain that I will be discussing as well as explaining within this essay.
One sociological explanation for the unequal distribution of wealth and income in contemporary
Britain is because it is necessary for the maintenance of society. This is argued by functionalists such
as Davis and Moore who suggest that inequality in wealth and income is very significant due to the
fact that some jobs are seen as more functionally important than others. As well as this, they believe
that meritocratic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However this theory can be criticised as it only looks at inequality within class and not inequality
within gender, age or other aspects. In addition to this this theory also fails to explain inequality within
men and women from different cultural and traditional backgrounds.
A further explanation is because of market situation of individual workers in the labour market. This is
argued by a social theorist in the name of Weber, who suggested that wealth and income inequality
occurs because some jobs have high rewards due to the fact that they are associated with strong trade
unions. Other reasons are because of how high the demand is or because of key attributes needed in
order to undertake a job. A prime example would be people employed to undertake transport services
e.g train or bus drivers. On average Train drivers get around £ 41,000 a year while nurses or school
secretaries get around 15 27,000 a year. We see that this is the case because train drivers are linked to
trade unions such as the TLC which help make the decisions of striking or protesting if something is
wrong and its difficult for the government to oppose transport workers as a lot of people rely on tubes
and buses to get to work and if trains and buses don t operate then no money will go towards the
government. This links to contemporary Britain because some jobs don t give high

The Commercial Airline Industry Has Witnessed A Steady...
After a century of perpetual development [1], the commercial airline industry has witnessed a steady
increase in airplane passenger capacity [2]. The industry itself is a notable economic force, from the
perspectives of both operations and its impacts on relevant industries such as aircraft construction and
tourism [3]. Different scales of wealth has led to market segmentations between airline companies
with dissimilar objectives and consumer focus: premium airlines like Singapore Airlines offering top
notch service, comfort, and quality at a higher price whilst low cost airlines such as easyJet are
catering to consumers that prefer economical flights.
Nevertheless, despite contrasting consumer targets, an underlying system is needed by airlines to run
functionally. This primary system comprises principal inputs like airplanes, crews (pilots, flight
attendants, ground staffs, etc) and data (airline s website, check in counters, etc), inputs are the
components that are being utilised during the process of creating the product or good [31]. It also
comprises principal output which is the customers mainly, the passengers on the airplane.
Competitive priorities are defined as the dimensions that a business s production system must possess
to support the demands of the markets in which the business wishes to compete [4]. Undoubtedly,
EasyJet s most imperative competitive priorities are its punctuality of flights, emphasis on safety
measures, and the low fares for its

Iran Is An Islamic Sponsored Religion
The examination of the functionings of religious states is best done by using two of the most well
known nations with a state sponsored religion; Israel and Iran. Their respective religions, Jewish and
Islamic, govern their state s policy and everyday life, allowing for a comprehensive comparison
regarding the impact on democracy. Israel and Iran have long been at odds politically, so this
comparison between the two will highlight the way the two states have dealt with their religious base.
Iran is an Islamic sponsored state, with most of their political system revolving around the religious
leaders. Israel is a Jewish state with a large secular citizenry to match the religious base, causing the
political structure of the state to take a different approach to governing. Israel s more secular and
inclusive structure of government has allowed for a greater development of democracy, compared to
Iran s highly religious and non inclusive governmental setup which has led to a theocracy disguised as
a democratic state. Iran s political and social landscape completely shifted in 1979 when the Islamic
Revolution toppled the monarchy that was in power. It was decided that Iran would now be a republic
built on Islamic principles and ideals, thus marginalizing the leftist nationalist party that had helped
the religious right protest against the Shah s rule in 1978 and 1979. The new constitution created a
religious government based on [Ayatollah] Khomeini s vision of velāyat e faqīh

The Fallout from a Potential Eurozone Breakup
The Fallout From a Potential Eurozone Breakup
Executive Summary: Today, the global economic crisis is centered around the struggles of the
European Union to protect its very existence. At the start of its second decade of existence, the
common currency form of the Euro, shared by 17 of the European Union s 27 member states, is
imperiled by the threat that some of its struggling member might depart from the Eurozone. With a
particular focus on Greece, which balanced the question of its status in the Eurozone over the course
of its recent elections, the discussion here considers the possible consequences of a breakup of the
Eurozone. By and large, the discussion will demonstrate that the consequences would be catastrophic
for the global community as a whole. The discussion considers a brief history of globalization and,
subsequently, a concise history of the institution of the Euro itself. Within the context of this history,
the discussion will note that substantial evidence existing the foreshadow the forces that are now
threatening to dismantle the singular monetary currency of Europe. Among those forces, the research
addresses the reality that the differently scaled economies of Europe have long struggled to find
common currency ground, and always with little success. The findings also suggest that an era of
unbridled borrowing and budget deficit spiraling have now produced a scenario where the Eurozone
appears on the brink of dismantling. Were such an event to occur,

to part fund the factory construction cost for 100 cr at 10% interest with interest payable yearly in
cash. At the end of the first year, the company pays Rs 10 cr as interest to the bank. At this stage, from
an accounting perspective, Foxtrot has to make a choice. It can either show the interest paid as an
expense in the Income Statement for year 1, or it can add the interest paid to the book value of the
factory. In the latter case, the book value of Foxtrot will be increased to Rs 110 cr that will now
include Rs 10 cr as interest that the company paid to the bankers? Which of the two do you think is
more consistent with the principles of accounting?
Answer : As per GAAP ,the book value should be increased to Rs 110 cr as the factory is still to be
constructed and cost of interest paid for constructing the factory adds to the overall cost of the factory.

The Funerary Model Of A Pig Sty
Mingqi
For this first paper assignment I have chosen to write my essay on The Funerary Model of a Pig Sty.
This artwork takes place in Ancient China around c. 2nd century BCE. It was designed and used
within the Han Dynasty early in China s history. These clay models like the pig sty and other burial
goods had a hand in furthering the development of Chinas cultural heritage and beliefs. Within this
paper I will be discussing my chosen MIA artwork, works that are similar but different to this artwork,
and also how all three works, although all different, have the same purpose for what they have been
made for. Then finally touching on how the context of the piece can change based on its surroundings.

(MIA) The roofs are separated into four sections on both rooftops. On the square latrine roofs there are
four triangles. While on the rectangular latrine there are two triangles and two trapezoids for the
rooftops shape. I find that this adds to the depth of the roof giving this piece great detail. One can see
this not just in the structure, but also in the details of the animals found in the pigsty model. For
starters when looking around there are seven animals total. They are a boar or male pig, a dog, a sow
who is feeding her three young piglets, and finally a bird. (MIA) In this particular model each animal
is found doing something known for what that animal does in real life. For example the boar is outside
the pen eating slop by himself out of a bowl. While the dog is above the boar on the walkway lazily
sleeping his day away in what could be the hot sun. As one moves along within the piece and looks
inside the pen one can see a sow that is really doing the most work in this model for she is feeding her
three young piglets right in the middle of the pen. This is okay because her and the piglets are the only
four in the pen causing a feeling of calm to the person looking at the work. Finally we move our eyes
up and see a nest with a bird in it. This bird seems to be stretching his wings or cleaning them minding
its own business. All these individual details make up one

Southwest Airlines Profitable
Southwest Airlines Fuel Hedging and Relations to Profitability
Abstract
In order to stay airborne, a passenger airline has to consistently generate profits. Profits come only
from paying passengers, hence all stratagems must be customer oriented. In a scenario where there are
many airlines competing with each other, one way of attracting passengers is to keep the cost of flying
low, while providing value for money. On the other hand, expenses must tightly controlled to reach
and stay at the lowest possible. Certain expenses are unavoidable; however, one variable that can be
kept low through decisive planning and foresight is the cost of fuel, which, at best, can be called
volatile. A good way to achieve this is by hedging fuel cost, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Fuel has consistently been one of the largest expense categories for domestic airlines, ranking second
only to personnel expenses. During 2003, fuel costs represented, on average, over 16% of the total
operating expenses for all U.S. domestic airlines studied by Richard Cobbs and Alex Wolf (2004).
Moreover, airlines are generally unable to increase fares to offset any significant increase in fuel costs.
From 2001 to 2003, these same airlines experienced a 25.9% compound annual increase in jet fuel
costs while average airline pricing decreased by 0.1%, as measured by revenue per available seat mile
(Cobbs and Wolf, 2004). Jet fuel costs have substantially risen over the past several years putting
consistent pressure on airlines to maintain positive cash flows. Any saving in fuel costs works out to
profit earned.
In fuel intensive arenas such as the Airlines Industry, high and volatile fuel prices can have a
significant impact on the bottom line, not to mention adding to the difficult task of budgeting for
future fuel expenditures. If fuel costs are not actively managed, they can lead a company into losses.
Airlines can mitigate their exposure to volatile and potentially rising fuel costs, as well as natural gas
and electricity costs, through hedging. Hedging allows the fuel market participants (companies that

indications are that sales will continue to grow. In response to a recent inquiry by Hank Solo, ID s
manager indicated that the proposed increase in the cost of a pod racer from PD would lead him to
increase the ID sales price by $300 per unit causing volumes to decline to 1,700 per year. At the end of

Airport Construction Has A Major Effect On The Community
Airport construction has a major effect on everyone involved and also the community around the
airport. When an airport begins to make plans for expansion or repairs a whole list of things are
researched and planned years in advance. The airport manager is responsible for overseeing the
project and confirming that everything goes as planned and everyone stays safe in the process. There
are multiple regulations to abide by not only from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), but by
the city and the Occupational Safety and Health Association (0SHA). All of these regulations are
enforced to help mitigate the risk involved in airport construction. Airport construction is normally

So with that being an issue the airport is faced with the decision of buying new land which usually
results in buying whole neighborhoods and businesses. By doing this the airport personnel has to
make it right for the people living in these neighborhoods and offer them good compensation to move
away from the airport. They also have to think about the businesses around there and how the
economy will be effected if those around forced to move. But if the economy will benefit from the
construction at the airport in the long run the homeowners and businesses will not have a choice to
stay, but once again they will be takin care of. Communities that use roads and highways by airports
can be burdened by airport construction because of the increased traffic from construction vehicles
hauling equipment and supplies to the airport. A lot of times construction companies have to travel
through neighborhoods and other main roads that causes huge headaches for the community.
Airport construction also poses a short term but substantial threat to the environment with all the
different jobs being done, there are a lot of different construction equipment such as cranes, dozers,
excavators, concrete equipment, etc. that can cause problems with the environment. The main
environmental issues affected by include air, water, and noise pollution. Air pollution has always been

Lysistrat Women s Rights
Using the three Greek works that divulge many facts about the everyday life of Athenian women, I
will compare how the reality of women s lives is depicted. Such as the wife of Euphiletus having a
mistress, Lysistrata was so brave towards men, nor Neaera whom was a slave.
In the play of Lysistrata we see how women are depicted sexual. Also on how women were supposed
to always be at home while their husbands were away at war. Women duties were to be at home with
their son and taking care of the household needs. Lysistrata notes Oh what a low and horny race are
we! No wonder men write tragedies about us we re nothing but Poseidon and a bucket... (145) .
Women were depicted as having no control of themselves, and their husband seem the need to keep
them controlled because of their desires. Which Lysistrata has shown as being tragedies men wrote
about their wives. Lysistrata goal was to get the women help to have men end the war against Sparta,
but when she mentioned to women that they had so resisted from their husband sexual desired they
started to walk away from the Akropolis. The act of the women turning away therefore shows why
Lysistrata reacted by saying All right. We re going to have to give up cock. Why are you all turning
away from me? Where are you going? (130) . In reaction to their act that is why Lysistrata mentioned
the fact in line 145 on what horny race they were.

Objectives And Objectives Of An Organization
As I ve explained in my previous article, the stakeholders in an organisation are its customers,
employers, employees, government, owners and suppliers amongst others. The stakeholder can be a
person, group or even an organisation that has an influence in a company. Stakeholders are different
from others as they can have a different type of influence on a business. Every business has aims and
objectives. An aim is a more broad term and is what the business would like to achieve in the long
term, where as an objective is more of a short term thorough approach on how to achieve the long
term aim. Detailed objectives are known as SMART objectives, this is a mnemonic acronym,
providing criteria to guide when setting objectives. These objectives go as follows: * Specific Means
that the objective the business would like to achieve is precise and clearly stated. * Measurable The
outcome the firm would like to achieve is a numeric value that can be measured. * Achievable The
objective should be possible by the organisation. * Realistic The target is what results can realistically
be achieved, given available resources. * Time The objective will be met within a given period of
time. Most businesses have general aims which they can break down into detailed objectives. By
arranging aims and objectives; firms give themselves a sense of direction and purpose. With a general
plan in place, a business can set precise objectives and observe its progress towards achieving

Social Policy And The Access Of The Judiciary System
What is Social Policy and the link to the Judiciary system
Social policy aims to improve human welfare and to meet human needs. Important areas of social
policy are wellbeing and welfare, unemployment insurance, pensions, the NHS, social housing, family
policy, social care, child protection, crime and criminal justice and labour issues. It was said problems
of children who were deprived or abused have been connected closely with issues concerning young
offenders (Spicker.uk, 2015).This statement involves various roles from professionals in the judiciary
system. Under the Children s Act 1998 the local authority s functions where to provide services which
support children and their families (Anon, 2015). Social workers would have had involvement during
the individual s young life and have already taken action in order to prevent the abuse therefore
preventing young offenders. In turn victim support would support the individual if they are required in
a court setting; they will advise if they are feeling worried, nervous or afraid. If an individual becomes
a young offender the Youth offending teams within the court support them by; staying in touch with a
young person if they re sentenced in custody, charged with a crime and has to go to court or if a young
person is arrested. The youth offending team work closely with the probation services (Gov.uk, 2015).

The design of the office is intended to support the fluidity of information among the groups who then

important to note the role of the Director of National Intelligence because it is instrumental in the way

The Rise of the Creative Class Essay
In the information economy, creative content is a nation s most important natural resource. The wealth
creation in an economy of ideas is dependent on the capacity of a nation to continually create content
or new forms of widely distributed expression, for which they will need to invest in creative human
capital throughout the economy and not merely gadgets and hardware. (Venturelli 14). We may
assume then that in the 21st century, artists will finally be able to earn a living.

Successful societies will draw on as many citizens as possible to participate, demystifying the notion
of artist as a creative genius who works independently in an art laboratory, and then gives his gift to

digested this idea, they will begin to see themselves working in an interdependent environmental
infosphere that has the same requirements as the natural environment of balance, diversity, and
interaction. Of course every sector of society can contribute to the growth of the creative sector.
Some Important Terms: The Marketplace of Ideas v. The Mental Environment
In order to understand the Information Economy more clearly we need a new set of terms. Instead of
referring to The Marketplace of Ideas with its foundation in Adam Smith s economic philosophy we

the industrial revolution, where streamlining and automation are benefits. Even more
anachronistically, this model is based on laws of supply and demand which don t appropriately
describe the cultural industries.

  • 2. Code Talkers Essay In this precursor research paper, I will conduct a study of the code talkers from WWII. The purpose of this study is to remind other colleagues the significance of the Navajos throughout World War II. I will use the following articles for my research, World War II Time Line (Nationalgeographic.com), Semper Fidelis, Code talkers (Adam Jevec), Memorandum Regarding The Enlistment of Navajo (archives.gov), Navajo Code Talkers And World War II 1943 (recordsofrights.org), and lastly the Unbreakable: Remembering the Code Talkers (Hilary Parkinson). The main idea of my paper would be an insight look on who the code talkers were. Whose idea was it to form this group? What role did the Navajos play in World War II, and why the Navajos? The first article that stood out to me was Semper Fidelis, Code Talkers (Adam Jevec). The article mentions the history of code talkers, the reason why they were created, and the goal that they achieved. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second article, Memorandum Regarding The Enlistment of Navajo (archives.org) states, Philip Johnston was the initiator of the Marine Corps program to enlist and train the Navajos as messengers. Although Johnston was not a Navajo, he grew up on a Navajo reservation as the son of a missionary and became familiar with the people and their language. This quote illustrated us, who exactly came up with the idea of the code talkers. Furthermore, Phillip Johnston was the mastermind of code talkers, even though he didn t speak the ... • 8. The Effects Of Domestic Violence On Domestic Abuse Susan Cisneros English 1301 Lacina Taylor 2 December 2014 Stop The Abuse Underreported and underestimated, domestic abuse rips families apart every single day. Domestic violence comes in mainly five different forms, physical, sexual, psychological, emotional, and economic. This violence ruins families, demoralizes the victims, and the public downplays the household terrorism that goes on every day. Generally thought of as taboo, the public belittles and humorizes domestic abuse as a way to deal with it, that avoidance must come to an end. The five forms of domestic violence are economic, emotional, physical, psychological and sexual. The most commonly known physical violence occurs when a partner or parent inflicts injury such as hitting, stabbing, and shoving. Physical violence also takes place when food or fluids, medical care and other sources that maintain health get withheld. The most commonly recognized form of sexual violence is rape, or non consensual sexual intercourse. Sexual and physical violence oftentimes both wind up reported by the same victim. Some individuals actively engage in sexually abusive lifestyles, bondage, dominance, sadism and masochism, or BDSM is a wildly growing underground culture in America. • 9. National Incident Management System (NIMS) After September 11, 2001, the Department of Homeland of Security was formed in response to the terrorist attacks. Out of the birth of the agencies formed, the National Incident Management System (NIMS) was created to allow clear allocation of resources and a systematic approach to emergency management. The system can be effective in many responses where many levels of government and response are imminent to respond to the disaster. Many of these agencies are emergency management, police, fire, health, and EMS from all levels of government. NIMS can be used on any type of incident and of any size or scope in nature. In Smith County, an E 4 tornado touched down in Stadtown leveling many of the homes and the shopping mall (Walsh, D.W., et al, 2012). Command was established by the local on the scene within minutes of touchdown. Given the impact of a potential of 900 residents in the area, there could be multiple levels of response needed to respond to and recover from this incident. Given that the response could include many agencies from many levels of government and specialties, the National Incident Management System (NIMS) would be instituted. • 10. Alternative Energy Sources For Fossil Fuels Twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, from the time we are born until the time we die we are consuming energy. Currently the majority of this energy comes from fossil fuels (i.e. coal, natural gas, and oil). Fossil fuels made up eighty seven percent of the energy consumed worldwide in 2012 (Gonzalez Lucky). There are many people who do not believe there is an energy crisis, or that there is anything wrong with depending on fossil fuels, however fossil fuels are non renewable, which means once they are gone we are unable to create more. In addition, the carbon that is located in fossil fuels and released from when used for energy, contributes to the rising global temperature (Maehlum, 2013). This is not the only detrimental effect of fossil fuels, but is perhaps the most serious. The alternate option is to use alternative energy sources (i.e. wind, solar, nuclear, and hydroelectric). These sources are considered renewable, because they are able to replenish and restore themselves over a short period of time (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency). These sources involve using specialized technology to harness Earth s natural energy and convert it into a form that we are able to use. While alternative energy sources can still have a slight effect on the environment, they generally have less of an impact than fossil fuels (Union of Concerned Scientists). They also have many benefits including creating more jobs, making energy more affordable, and requiring less material ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Power Bases Kim Jong Il Power Bases Coercive Power: Kim Jong Il A coercive leader leads through fear and intimidation. The key fundamental in this leadership style is making your followers aware that their failure will ultimately cause some form of punishment. This can take many forms and has been demonstrated on many scales through history. Your boss at work that punishes you with extra work should you fail to succeed at a task is one example. I believe the most coercive leader in our world today is Kim Jong Il. Kim Jong Il has been the Supreme Commander of North Korea since 1997. His leadership style was shaped through a strict military background. His beliefs in himself are somewhat vain to most, but the people of North Korea will literally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The population accepts him as a member of their family because of the fear he instilled in past generations. I dare say he went so far with his coercive style that he no longer even needs to be that way. The people were forced for so long to accept him as their leader and supreme commander that they no longer have any other thought in their head. He has totally blocked all internet and media transmissions into North Korea. No news gets in and you can guarantee that very little gets out. Outsiders are not welcome to visit North Korea unless they are escorted by officials of the Government everywhere they go. While his coercive style may have shaped his rule in North Korea it has in some form shifted into a more Legitimate Power. While generations past may have feared Kim Jong Il the population of North Korea today loves him as their leader. Where some societies look to religion to fill their spiritual needs, North Koreans look to Kim Jong Il for the same satisfaction. While he may have had no right to rule in the beginning and his coercive style solidified his position he is certainly showing Legitimate Power in today s world. It will be a terrible loss for the people of North Korea when they lose Kim, but at the same time it may be the best thing that ever happened to them. While their minds are warped from years of coercive abuse they now accept that Kim Jong Il has the right, by virtue of position, to make demands and expect ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Islamic Law ( Shari A Law Islamic law ( shari a law ) is an ever evolving and eminently flexible system of religious and legal reasoning that Muslim jurists have developed and refined over the course of nearly 1400 years. Many scholars have pointed out that the sharia is not formally a code nor a set of rules. It is a broad understanding of god s perfect will. Shari a is a principle that govern the behavior of Muslim individuals and discuss their duties. In order to understand the shari a,, Muslim jurists use fiqh, their understanding of the god s law, to issue rulings that then scholars consider to be the closest meaning of the shari a. usul al fiqh which is the process to understand the shari a contains four major bases: The Quran, which Muslims believe to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, Shia Muslims believe that Sunni collections of hadith are unreliable because they accept the caliphates Abu Baker, Omar, and Uthman, and they just trust what Imams transmit. Shia Muslims have four different collections of Hadith al Kafi, Tahdhib al ahkam, Al Istibsar fi ma ikhtalaf min al akhbar and Man la yahduruh al faqih. Both Sunni and Shia Muslims rely on their collections of hadith as primary source beside the Quran to understand the Islamic law. However, these two sources do not address all issues and topics in life. Muslim jurists have developed other methods which use the other two foundations qiyas and ijma to issue a decision for an issue. Qiya is a principle that use analogical reasons to judge a new topic based on a similar one from the Quran or Sunna. For example, Islam prohibit Muslims from drinking wine. Jurists refer to this prohibition using analogical reasons to judge other intoxicating drinks like beer. If finding a solution to an issue cannot be made by an analogy, then other categories can be applied to select an acceptable solution. For example, some scholars use Istihsan which means deciding in favor of the public interest. Scholars efforts to understand and analyze the bases of shari a to elaborate a law is called Ijtihad, and not everyone is qualified to interpret the sources. • 13. The Act Of Male Circumcision The act of male circumcision is a practice dating centuries. Accounts of circumcision can be found all over the world with many different myths and legends. There are many different reasons why this antediluvian ritual takes place. In ancient times, circumcision was regarded as a rite of passage. The act was a symbolic transformation from adolescence to adulthood. Many other ancient cultures participated in circumcising as a means for eliminating masturbation. Today, circumcision is performed for very different reasons. Parents who circumcise may do so out of religious beliefs. Some may circumcise because of social pressure. Many parents feel an obligation to circumcise in order for their child fit in . Others circumcise on the basis of health and hygiene concerns. Some even circumcise out of pure ignorance about the issues that arise from the procedure. While the motives for circumcision have constantly changed, the practice still remains. The effects of circumcision are damaging to the male child s body and mind. Circumcision is a permanent decision forced upon a child with no say in the matter. These days, it is no longer considered a rite of passage or a sacrifice needed for salvation. The health benefits circumcision claims seem to be under investigated and minimal. So why do Americans still circumcise their children? Perhaps it is the social stigma of remaining intact or the misguided health concerns. Maybe it is a lack of knowledge about circumcision. • 14. John Adams Pursuit Of The American Dream Daija Daniels Professor Metz History 101 21 March 2016 The American Dream When people come to America, they come because the want to live the American dream. But what actually is the American dream? Does it truly exist? When one thinks of the American dream they instantly think of the Declaration of Independence because they too also believe that all men are created equal but also believe in the beauty of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. United States citizens as well as immigrants, believed in what the declaration had said and that it would push them closer to an experience of the American dream. Though people are excited to move towards a better life, they become a bit hesitant because they do not know exactly what the American dream is, nor do they know if all people are granted the same chance towards the American dream due to their age, race, their social status, traditions and any other factors. John Adams once stated that this American dream we speak of should give a better life to everyone but only according to their ability. To me this means that everyone deserves a better life but we cannot just give you everything, you have to show what you can do, and how far your American dream goes depends on you, your ability, and how hard you are willing to work. Though your American dream is based upon your ability being African American holds you back, though you have the ability to do great things you will not get the same opportunity due to race. • 15. Guilt in Fifth Business by Robertson Davies Guilt is the regret one experiences when they realise their action was not appropriate according to a lawful or moral standard. In Fifth Business, by Robertson Davies, guilt was a major theme and was essential throughout the novel. Davies used the three main characters, Dunstan Ramsay, Boy Staunton, and Paul Dempster to illustrate the different effects of Mrs. Dempster s incident. The way one is raised, the key disciplines they have developed and their way of thinking reflects how they deal with guilt. Boy Staunton was illustrated to have an interesting attitude. Through the lack of his morals and principles he felt no guilt after the incident. I threw a snowball at you, and I guess it gave you a good smack (Robertson Davies, pg. 27.) Boy took no responsibility over his action and blatantly denied the guilt. Another example that displayed Boy s insensitiveness was when he was involved in a sexual act with Mabel, a student at his school, at a time period when he was in a relationship with Leola. His father played a major role in that situation as he bribed Mabel s mother to not involve the authorities. Boy never apologized or showed discomfort in any way. Lastly, he cheated on Leola, after their marriage. Leola found a note from one of his admirers and in return Boy stated, There s no reason to carry on like that, but if you think I intend to be tied down to this sort of thing, you can think again (pg.178.) Beside the beautiful setting that is fifteen minutes upper east of downtown Atlanta, Emory s blend of differing qualities and scholastic fabulousness drives its understudies to buckle down and play hard. Sociology Homework: Examine the sociological explanations of unequal distributions of wealth and income in contemporary Britain (24 marks) There are five main sociological explanations of unequal distributions of wealth and income in contemporary Britain that I will be discussing as well as explaining within this essay. One sociological explanation for the unequal distribution of wealth and income in contemporary Britain is because it is necessary for the maintenance of society. This is argued by functionalists such as Davis and Moore who suggest that inequality in wealth and income is very significant due to the fact that some jobs are seen as more functionally important than others. However this theory can be criticised as it only looks at inequality within class and not inequality within gender, age or other aspects. In addition to this this theory also fails to explain inequality within men and women from different cultural and traditional backgrounds. A further explanation is because of market situation of individual workers in the labour market. This is argued by a social theorist in the name of Weber, who suggested that wealth and income inequality occurs because some jobs have high rewards due to the fact that they are associated with strong trade unions. Other reasons are because of how high the demand is or because of key attributes needed in order to undertake a job. A prime example would be people employed to undertake transport services e.g train or bus drivers. On average Train drivers get around £ 41,000 a year while nurses or school secretaries get around 15 27,000 a year. We see that this is the case because train drivers are linked to trade unions such as the TLC which help make the decisions of striking or protesting if something is wrong and its difficult for the government to oppose transport workers as a lot of people rely on tubes and buses to get to work and if trains and buses don t operate then no money will go towards the government. After a century of perpetual development [1], the commercial airline industry has witnessed a steady increase in airplane passenger capacity [2]. The industry itself is a notable economic force, from the perspectives of both operations and its impacts on relevant industries such as aircraft construction and tourism [3]. Different scales of wealth has led to market segmentations between airline companies with dissimilar objectives and consumer focus: premium airlines like Singapore Airlines offering top notch service, comfort, and quality at a higher price whilst low cost airlines such as easyJet are catering to consumers that prefer economical flights. Nevertheless, despite contrasting consumer targets, an underlying system is needed by airlines to run functionally. This primary system comprises principal inputs like airplanes, crews (pilots, flight attendants, ground staffs, etc) and data (airline s website, check in counters, etc), inputs are the components that are being utilised during the process of creating the product or good [31]. It also comprises principal output which is the customers mainly, the passengers on the airplane. Competitive priorities are defined as the dimensions that a business s production system must possess to support the demands of the markets in which the business wishes to compete [4]. Iran Is An Islamic Sponsored Religion The examination of the functionings of religious states is best done by using two of the most well known nations with a state sponsored religion; Israel and Iran. Their respective religions, Jewish and Islamic, govern their state s policy and everyday life, allowing for a comprehensive comparison regarding the impact on democracy. Israel and Iran have long been at odds politically, so this comparison between the two will highlight the way the two states have dealt with their religious base. Iran is an Islamic sponsored state, with most of their political system revolving around the religious leaders. Israel is a Jewish state with a large secular citizenry to match the religious base, causing the political structure of the state to take a different approach to governing. Israel s more secular and inclusive structure of government has allowed for a greater development of democracy, compared to Iran s highly religious and non inclusive governmental setup which has led to a theocracy disguised as a democratic state. Iran s political and social landscape completely shifted in 1979 when the Islamic Revolution toppled the monarchy that was in power. It was decided that Iran would now be a republic built on Islamic principles and ideals, thus marginalizing the leftist nationalist party that had helped the religious right protest against the Shah s rule in 1978 and 1979. At the start of its second decade of existence, the common currency form of the Euro, shared by 17 of the European Union s 27 member states, is imperiled by the threat that some of its struggling member might depart from the Eurozone. With a particular focus on Greece, which balanced the question of its status in the Eurozone over the course of its recent elections, the discussion here considers the possible consequences of a breakup of the Eurozone. By and large, the discussion will demonstrate that the consequences would be catastrophic for the global community as a whole. The discussion considers a brief history of globalization and, subsequently, a concise history of the institution of the Euro itself. Within the context of this history, the discussion will note that substantial evidence existing the foreshadow the forces that are now threatening to dismantle the singular monetary currency of Europe. Among those forces, the research addresses the reality that the differently scaled economies of Europe have long struggled to find common currency ground, and always with little success. The findings also suggest that an era of unbridled borrowing and budget deficit spiraling have now produced a scenario where the Eurozone appears on the brink of dismantling. One can see this not just in the structure, but also in the details of the animals found in the pigsty model. For starters when looking around there are seven animals total. They are a boar or male pig, a dog, a sow who is feeding her three young piglets, and finally a bird. Profits come only from paying passengers, hence all stratagems must be customer oriented. In a scenario where there are many airlines competing with each other, one way of attracting passengers is to keep the cost of flying low, while providing value for money. On the other hand, expenses must tightly controlled to reach and stay at the lowest possible. During 2003, fuel costs represented, on average, over 16% of the total operating expenses for all U.S. domestic airlines studied by Richard Cobbs and Alex Wolf (2004). Moreover, airlines are generally unable to increase fares to offset any significant increase in fuel costs. From 2001 to 2003, these same airlines experienced a 25.9% compound annual increase in jet fuel costs while average airline pricing decreased by 0.1%, as measured by revenue per available seat mile (Cobbs and Wolf, 2004).
