Proposed Genetic Algorithm Of Protein Tertiary Structure...
In the next subsections, the proposed genetic algorithm of protein tertiary structure prediction will be
described. i) The Proposed Genetic Algorithm Genetic Algorithms (GA) primarily motivated by the
biological theory of evolution, and it was originally developed by J. Holland in 1975 [11]. The GA is
is a search heuristic that mimics the process of natural selection. GA is based on the operations of
population reproduction and selection to acheive optimal results. Through artificial evolution,
successive generations search for fitter adaptations in order to solve a problem. Each generation
consists of a population of chromosomes, representing a series of candidate solutions (called
individuals) to an optimization problem, generally evolves toward better solutions by applying genetic
operations of recombination and mutation to create a new offspring population from the current
population. The process evolution usually starts from a population of randomly generated individuals
or, using domain background knowledge. The generation process repeats for many generations with
the aim of maximizing the objective Function (also called fitness) of the chromosomes that are
evaluated each generation. Usually, the GA termination cindition are set to the maximum number of
generations. ii) Genetic Representation In a GA, a population of chromosomes, representing a series
of candidate solutions (called individuals) to an optimization problem, generally evolves toward better
solutions.

Possibilities And Challenges Of Interreligious And Secular...
Possibilities and challenges of interreligious and secular dialogue in today s world. According to Zago,
globalization was imminent and interreligious contact unavoidable, leading to religious pluralism. The
tendency was increasing and creating challenge to mission, which would create not only meetings but
also clashes among various religions. He anticipates the need of attitudes and initiatives for
interreligious dialogue, but this Dialogue, however, must not eliminate proclamation that remains at
the heart of mission and is the criterion by which to judge the validity of mission and to promote
discernment in elaborating a theology of mission and dialogue. Religious pluralism presents
challenges and opportunities for Christians to understand their own being, their mission, and
relationship with other religions. Some tensions that may exist in duality are:
fundamentalism/relativism, proclamation/dialogue, identity/openness, inculturation/syncretism, local
autonomy/human rights, and freedom/reciprocity. Fundamentalism/relativism. These tensions could be
beneficial or a problem especially when fundamentalism becomes radical. For instance, the situation
that is happening in Syria, where there are people who practice three religions: Islam from different
sects as Sunni, Shi a and Kharijites, Druzism, and Christians of different denominations. The war in
because Sunnis resentment against Alawis, and some people says this war has political reasons; while
others sustain it

PROPOSAL TITLE: Supermarket discounts: do they offer genuine benefits or are they buying traps
Name: HU LIXIANG
Student Number: 200908448
MSc Major: Consumer Marketing 1. Project Title
Supermarket discounts: do they offer genuine benefits or are they buying traps 1.1. Introduction
Generally speaking, people believe a discount in the supermarket is something that will help to save
their money and which is a profits sharing activity of supermarket company. However, less people
ever think about the real value for them when a discount product purchased. Therefore, Tesco, a well
known neighbour will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
1.3.4. Are customers influenced by sales promotion activity, and if so ,will they change their initial
options?
1.3.5. What do customers feel when they choose items for discount but not their original choices,
satisfied or not satisfied?
In addition, the research will seek to identify that consumers made purchase decision due to the
psychological change or based on their sane thinking and to provide rational suggestions to consumers
when they are choosing items for sales, and to provide a means to identify the real value of many
kinds of discount. 2. Literature 2.1 Review of the relevant literature
There is a large amount of literature about the pricing strategy or consumers behaviour for different
sales promotion but there is surprisingly little research about the contributing factors that prompt
customers buying behaviour. However by analysing consumers reaction to sales promotions, we can
determine whether customers make their purchasing decisions based on internal or external factors.
The internal factors would be customers initial needs, while external factors would include the
influence of promotion advertising.
The retail industry increasingly used sales promotions (Felgate et al. 2012). Previous research
(e.g.Webster 1971; Kotler 1988; Blattberg amp; Neslin 1990) sees sales promotion as a method that
directly or indirectly influences customers purchasing

Let s Stop Judging A Book By It s Cover
Just like Ghandhi said, an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. There are plenty of times,
when we accidently may judge someone we don t know. For instance, when first going to a new class
full of people, or even a job interview. Isn t it crazy how one small conversation with someone you
don t know can change your total perspective on them? Personally, it happened to me so many times
and the people I thought were weird turned out to be one of the coolest people I know. Let s stop
judging a book by it s cover and actually read it and interpret it s true meaning.
Kwame Anthony Appiah, who is the author of the book Cosmopolitanism is also the Laurance S.
Rockefeller University Professor of Philosophy and a member of the University center for Human
Values. Appiah believes that conversation can help end separation and boundaries people have around
the world. Conversation can allow for cultural exchange, acceptance and resolve differences. After
reading Making Conversation and the Primacy of Practice I believe conversation works as a positive
model for resolving and managing world problems to a certain extent, depending on the
individual/people you are talking to. Overall, some people you will try to converse with may be hard
headed and so stuck on their views and others will be willing to compromise. Either way, conversation
opens doors to new thoughts, perspectives, and voices to unheard views.
Just like in math, there are so many ways to solve a problem. Just

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Miss Distance
In the external guidance problem, the chief contributors to the miss distance are shown in figure (2 6)
as mentioned in reference [35]:
Fig. (2 6). The main reasons of miss distance
The first reason is the heading error which is defined as the angle represents the deviation of the
missile s velocity vector from the collision course. When the initial value of the heading error is
different from zero, the missile tries to compensate the difference and this attempt causes a delay for
sitting on the collision course. So, this contributes positively to the miss distance at the termination of
the engagement. Another significant reason of the miss distance is the target maneuver. Compared to a
stationary target, it is more difficult first to detect and then to track a moving target [36].
Moreover, the disturbing effects such as the noises affecting the electro optical part of the seeker and
the radome refraction that occurs depending on the shape of the radome cause the seeker to generate
the target information ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately TVM has some limitations. For example, the data link could be suffer from jamming.
Conversely, it is not occur with an active homing missile. Furthermore, this technique utilizes the
ground radar to keep the target illuminated throughout the engagement. Thus, the aircraft equipped
with anti radiation missiles could detect and engage the SAM radar. Another drawback is that the
missile must depend on the ground radar for guidance, so if the target hides behind hill, thus the
missile cannot be able to detect reflected wave from the target which causes losing tracking of target.
Some examples of missiles that use this kind of guidance are the Russian S 300PS, S 300F, S300
PMU, anti aircraft, and anti Cruise missile . Figure (2 12) shows the launcher of S 300 system. Fig.(2

Capitalism And Neoliberalism
Throughout history, the concept of politics has reduced through many centuries. Since the beginning
of time the implementation of governance has been a recurring question. Globally, there are different
ideologies and political systems that our citizens must follow. One major concept from the the
ideology Neoliberalism is Globalization which impacts our society in ways that many do not see.
Another ideology that affects our society is the concept of Capitalism. All aspects of Politics affects
the role and nature of the state as we know it today. Neoliberalism is an ideology that express a means
for a free market economy. A free market economy is an economy that those who have access to, can
take part in. As stated before, Globalization is a subheading of Neoliberalism. The concept of
globalization is to unify the globe into one, so that society can run smoother. Globalization, comes
with the concept of a global village. The three components of this village are an open market, society,
and technology. An open market is the free movement of goods and services. This feature of the
village allows for new ideas and creations to be introduced to our society. An open society is the
collapsing of national boundaries with the free movement of people. The free movement of people
brings on new nationalities and languages which makes us very diverse. Lastly, open technology is
that anyone can use the free market. This concept of the village gives those who can, access to the free

Live The Dream By Christopher Nolan And Co Produced By...
Live the Dream
Inception is a science fiction film that was directed by Christopher Nolan and co produced by Emma
Thomas. It is about the story of how a group of extractors infiltrate the minds of their targets,
extracting information and planting ideas, which is called inception. After watching this movie, I was
deeply impressed by its careful designation, the precise logic of the scenarios, its method of narration,
as well as its use of symbols through the plot. An effective storyteller always draws the audience s
attention. The narrative structure reveals the theme of the contrast and comparison between real life
and life in dreams, and the representative symbols in the movie. Some techniques are also to be
appreciated.
To analyze the narrative structure, the main plot should be introduced at the beginning. Dominick
Cobb and Arthur are extractors who are able to create dream scenarios that seems to be the real world,
and they are able to lead other people into the dream worlds that they build and invade their
subconscious, thereby getting valuable information. In a corporate espionage attempt, Cobb and
Arthur are commanded to steal Saito s business secret. Convinced by Cobb and Arthur s capacity,
Saito finds them and offers them a seemly impossible mission to plant a seed in Robert Fischer s
subconscious to break up Robert s father s energy conglomerate. The remuneration for Cobb is that his
criminal record will be erased in America, which will allow him to go back

General Principles Of Organization Law Essay
There are number of General principles which have guided the courts in their approach to organisation
law, both in terms of development of general law or interpretation of legislation. Three of these
principles are: 1. Non interference principle 2. Commercial Reality principle 3. Non Prescriptive
Principle Director s Duty at General Law The duty to act in good faith and for proper purpose
Directors are the one who manages and directs the company. Therefore, there powers must be
exercised not only in the manner required by law but also for the benefit of the company in its
processes and profits as the main purpose of the company is to make profit. If a company fails to make
profits, they have no other option but to shut down. Also, directors have to follow laws which are
under Corporations Act 2001 which consists of duties of directors and their responsibilities (Mills vs
Mills). Governance and director s role move hand in hand Directors role play a vital role in
governance of a company. Section 180 reinforces the general law principle that a person in a fiduciary
position should not make any gain by virtue of that position. Worries of Corporate Governance: Have
to deal with conflicts of ideas and interests within the management. It is the duty of Director to act in a
good faith and for the benefits of the company. Have to secure the information which is given to
internal management which improves board s oversight role in the company. They also have to

U.s. Department Of Homeland Security
On March 31, 2016, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Federal Bureau of
Investigation (FBI) started a nationwide campaign to warn against the dangers faced by the U.S.
utilities against the cyberattacks. According to DHS, there were an estimated 331 hacks or physical
attacks against the U.S. power grid from 2011 to 2014. As of February 2016, they are occurring at a
rate of once every 4 days. A major cyberattack on the U.S. electric grid could cause over $1 trillion in
economic damage, estimates ThreatTrackSecurity.com. (MacDonald, 2016, pg. 2). To detect a
cyberattack on the power grid, Western Interconnection should implement a system that will allow
public and private authorities to receive Indications and Warning (I W) when a cyberattack is in its
early phase. Koester and Cohen (2012) discuss their Electric Power Grid Indications Warning Tool in
their paper. The purpose of this tool is to provide near real time I W to alert private and public sector
authorities when the likely causes of outage events are malicious activity. (Koester Cohen, 2012, p. 1).
The tool minimizes false alarms due to severe weather and high temperatures. Implementing this
solution will allow administrators at the Western Interconnection power grid to take precautionary
measures as necessary. For example, the substations can be manually shutdown in case of a
cyberattack, to prevent potential damage and spread of malware. In addition to the aforementioned
tool, a

The aim of this paper is to talk about the different actions taken to replace the Articles of
Confederation to bring about a new Constitution. The Articles of Confederation was the first written
constitution of the United States that was adopted on November 15, 1777. It was sent out to the states
to be ratified on November 15, 1777. The Articles of Confederation was ratified and
They reserved to each state and not to the national government. The national government consisted of
a congress with only one chamber that was elected by the state legislature in which each state had a
vote. Congress had the right to request funds but could not put taxes on things without every state s
approval. Lastly, an approval was required by all states to ratify the articles. The articles gave the
states all the freedom and United States just had few right overall. The Articles of Confederation only
lasted eight years and was replaced by the US Constitution on March 4, 1789. There were many
strengths and weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation. The Department of Treasury, the
department of Postal Service and the Department of Foreign Affairs were formed under the Article of
Confederation. Articles was the first written constitution of the United States. Under the

John Kerry conducted an investigation into the Iran Contra Scandal, in which he assigned members of
his Senate staff to investigate the allegations made against Reagan. In addition, he influenced the
Republican majority on the senate foreign relations committee to demand information from Reagans
and Bush administration about the alleged Contra drug traffickers (Parry, 2004). John Kerry
challenged Ronald Reagan at the peak of his power and Reagan did everything in his power to
interfere with Kerry s investigation. Some of Ronald s actions included trying to discredit witnesses,
stop the senate when Kerry requested evidence, and lastly, assigning the CIA to monitor Kerry s
Investigation. However, none of these tactics were enough to stop Kerry and his committee from

Seven Deadly Sins In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet...
From the beginning of time there has been the idea of God and the sins that God has applied. There
are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that
shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false
witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers (Proverbs 6:16 19). The
seven deadly sins are pride, gluttony, sloth, envy, greed, anger, and lust.
Pride is the excessive belief that one person has so much belief in himself and his abilities, that it
interferes with the person s realization of the grace of God. Pride is also known for the excessive pride
in one s achievements, or in other words, vanity.
Gluttony is to eat and drink more than one person requires. Sloth is extreme laziness and not wanting
to do anything.
Envy is the desire to have another person s qualities or abilities and this is very sinful because it shows
you are not happy with what you have and want what other people have.
Greed is to get and keep more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Greatest Accomplishments Of Thomas Jonathan Jackson
Thomas Jonathan Jackson started from humble beginnings, and became one of the greatest Generals in
American history. The most important reasons for this were the leadership abilities, morals, and
attributes he developed throughout his life. He was born in northwestern Virginia in 1825. His father
passed away along with his older sister to Typhoid Fever two years later. His Mother remarried but
soon realized that she was not long for this world. She sent him to live with relatives in the frontier.
The frontier taught young Jackson the importance of honor and integrity. There, a man s word was
everything. These qualities would set the foundation for the rest of his development. Thomas never

He received citations for meritorious service and a promotion to Brevet Major. This stemmed from his
sense of duty, willingness to face danger, and by leading from the front. In the onset of the Civil War,
Jackson s sense of loyalty demanded that he fight for his state. He took charge of rendezvous camp as
a Colonel, drilling raw recruits at Harper s Ferry. He organized the Virginia militias into disciplined
units of the First Brigade. The opening battle to the Civil War was on July 21 1861. The battle of First
Manassas, also known as the battle of Bull Run started with the Federals beating the Confederates.
Henry House Hill was the last rallying possible rallying point. It was a dire situation for the
Confederacy. Jackson had heard the fighting from where he was in Bull Run. He took initiative and
moved off at once towards Henry Hill. Jackson emplaced his artillery on the main crest of the hill. He
then positioned his infantry on the backside of the hill. This allowed his infantry to cover the gunners
while staying out of sight. It was here that Jackson earned his nickname of Stonewall . A fellow
commander named Bee was retreating when he noticed Jackson on the hill. He knew Jackson would
hold. Then he told his troops to rally behind the Virginians. Jackson s quick reaction and critical
thinking allowed his fellow commanders to rally their troops behind him, ultimately turning the tide of
battle. In autumn 1861, Jackson took command

Writing Process Essay
Writing Process
When in school, be it college, required schooling, or online, most courses required the student to write
papers to express his understanding of the subjects at hand. For many students, writing can be an
extremely difficult procedure. However, there is a series of steps that can make this process less
daunting, this process is called the Writing Process.
The writing process is a step by step route that a student can follow to make sure that his paper is
ready to be turned in to the instructor. As explained in University of Phoenix s video Writing Process
(2014), the steps of the writing process is (a) read the syllabus, (b) time management, (c) outline, (d)

This research usually consists of a student going out of his way to find and gather information on a
certain subject, or subjects. This research not only gives the student information to include in his
written work, but will also likely teach him more about the subject at hand.
The most important thing, when doing research, is to make sure said research is credible and reliable.
Because information is wildly available nowadays, finding wrong or skewed information is not only
easy but common. Being that, students need to learn how to find and use the academic resources
available. For University of Phoenix students, there are three main academic resources available. One
of these is the wildly accessible resource called the Internet and the two exclusive resources for

My Observation Of Large Group Speech At The Iowa State...

Life Of Pi Close Reading Analysis
Close Reading
Yann Martel manipulates the narrative style and structural devices within this passage to support the
will to survive theme that is present in Life of Pi. Before the shipwreck, Pi was a spiritual individual
with a strong appreciation for the joy and peace in life. Pi commonly experienced cruelty and doubt
from his family and friends; however, he remained calm by following the guidance from his three
religions. After the shipwreck, the spirituality within Pi s life was tampered with because the chaotic
and brute actions of the animals threatened to separate Pi from his peaceful demeanour. At first, Pi
maintained his interaction with God, but as the days passed and the conditions worsened, Pi s animal
instincts began to develop. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Richard Parker is a manifestation of the qualities that Pi needs; however, an abundance of these
qualities will contribute to Pi s downfall. This concept is also represented later in the book when the
blind French cook tries to trick Pi. The cook s primitive side overpowered him, causing him to die in
the jaws of Richard Parker. If Pi did not tame his savagery, he would have been consumed by it, which
would be represented by a fatal attack from Richard Parker. While contemplating the confrontation of
his survival instincts, Pi says, to know that and to apply it are two very different things (Martel 246).
This quotation describes the concept of survival in a lifeboat and in the real world. In both settings, it
is difficult to deny yourself access to something that is lurking inside of you and pushing with so
much force. Whether this quality is easily spotted or difficult to uncover, it is important to study it and
decide if it is changing your character. Fortunately, Pi discovered early in his journey that the
primitive qualities he was developing for survival were threatening to dominate him. After taming his
savagery, Pi is pleased with his decisions and says Isn t that what all survivors say? (Martel 247). This
quotation depicts the satisfaction in taming your inner self, while still allowing your fierce qualities to
live in small

Analysis Of The Book Son Of God
As a Sunday Bible School and Vacation Bible School teacher in my church, I have watched many
short episodes of the Bible stories in cartoon style. Then, for this assignments I decided to use a
couple movies that I have watched in the past: The Bible as a television miniseries Spanish version,
and the movie Son of God. I identified the following characters for their participation in the movies.
1. ADAM Sendhil Ramamurthy
Sendhil Ramamurthy was born in Chicago, Illinois, in May 17, 1974. He is an American actor. He is
best known for his roles as geneticist Mohinder Suresh in the NBC sci fi drama Heroes and Jai Wilcox
in the action spy series Covert Affairs. He appeared as Abhay in the Indian film Shor in the City. He
played Gabriel Lowen in The CW sci fi romance series Beauty the Beast. He went to Keystone School
and graduated in 1991. Ramamurthy is married to actress Olga Sosnovska with two children, daughter
Halina and son Alex, and lives in London.
He played the role of Adam in the Mini Series In the Beginning (2000)
2. NOAH David Rintoul
David Rintoul is a Scottish stage and television actor, who was born in Aberdeen, Scotland on
November 29, 1948. He studied at Edinburgh University and won a scholarship to study at the Royal

Essay On Relationship Between Lord Of The Flies And The...
The politician Muhammad Ali Jinnah once said, Think 100 times before you take a decision, but once
that decision is taken, stand by it as one man. In the novels Lord of the Flies, written by William
Golding, and The Odyssey, written by Homer, this message is conveyed throughout. Furthermore, in
Lord of the Flies the main character Ralph finds himself on an unfamiliar island and later finds other
people. The story is characterized by the conflict between human natures; for example, savagery
amongst the children and the hope for rescue. During the course of the book, Ralph is plagued with
difficult decisions. Likewise, The Odyssey is about the journeys of a man named Odysseus who has to
make numerous tough decisions on his voyage back home. In correlation to the eloquent dialogue of
Muhammad Ali Jinnah, when making decisions, one must be thoughtful before undergoing the task.
First, when making decisions, one must always acknowledge his opponents. One should especially
consider the enemy s strengths and weaknesses. For example, after contemplating the skills of the
Cyclops in the cave, Odysseus drew on all [his] wits, and ran through tactics... until a trick came and it
pleased [him] well (Fitzgerald 381). Odysseus realizes that the Cyclops would defeat him in any
physical confrontation due to his well developed brute strength; as a result, he plans to trick him
because he knows that he is intellectually superior to the Cyclops. Through his review of the Cyclops

Julian Of Halloween Revelations Analysis
Shimul Habib
Professor Marcus Elder
Medieval Theology Texts
6 May 2018
Julian of Norwich was an important Christian mystic and theologian in the fourteenth century. Her
most well know work, Revelations of Divine Love is based on a series of sixteen visions she received
while she was lying on, what was thought at the time, to be her deathbed. Having received these
revelations at a time of great pain for herself, Julian s visions focus on the mysteries of Christianity, in
particular, the vast love of God and the existence of evil. Her constant positive attitude and optimism
while facing unfortunate circumstances really stood out and I will focus on what makes her unique
and this attitude also makes her work more useful.
When Julian of Norwich ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is our clothing that for love, wraps us, embraces us, helps us and enables us and all be closes us,
hangs about us from tender love that he may never leave us . Julian s understanding is that because
God loves humanity, and because he is everything, He will never leave and therefore his love is
forever. She also describes how all things have being, because of three things: The first is that God
made it; The second is that God loves it; The third that God keeps it (84). Nothing would exist if these
things weren t true according to her.
In her Revelations of Divine Love Julian shows great understanding and kindness in how she views
God and the divine. She sees God as one who delights in his creation and who is thankful to us for our
happiness in heaven. This concept is very interesting to me as most other scholars who described our
relations to the God portray humans as simply Gods

QRS Syndrome Analysis
As shown in Figure 1, the P wave is a result of atrial depolarization. The QRS complex is a result of
ventricular depolarization, and thus ventricular contraction, as well as atrial repolarization
simultaneously. The T wave represents repolarization of ventricles and thus relaxation. The delay
between the P wave and the QRS complex is known as the PQ interval or the PR interval. During this
interval, the atria contract and begin to relax, and the ventricles contract at the end of this delay
(VanPutte et al., 2014). This time of this interval is important for determining many heart conditions,
such as an atrial blockage, as it measures the time of onset of ventricular contraction after the atria
contracts. If this time period is too long, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Heart rate begins to increase during exercise because in order to produce energy for contraction, the
working leg muscles require more oxygen. When the subject increased exercise, the heart was beating
faster to get oxygen to these cells and to circulate the blood back to the lungs to get rid of carbon
dioxide. During exercise, the body needs more than the normal cardiac output, due to increased
demand for oxygen. Thus the heart is beating harder to get blood to the body and this leads to an
increase in MAP in the vessels as well. The heart ejects a greater volume of blood with each stroke
and in turn, this creates a higher mean arterial pressure. Ultimately, an increase in heart rate leads to an
increase in cardiac output which both work together to meet the body s oxygen demands (cardiac
output= stroke volume x heart rate). As shown in both figures 4a and 4b, a plateau was reached
because the body was performing at its maximum at that point. This may not be reflective of
maximum heart rate as the body may have been able to reach a higher HR and MAP, but this was the
hardest the body was working during this exercise. During recovery, both HR and MAP begin to fall,
because oxygen demand to the muscles decrease as the working muscles begin to slow down. In
Figure 4b, there is a slight

The opening case, NBA Teams Make a Slam dunk with Information Technology, shows students that
even the professional sports industry has embraced technology as a way to enhance their employees
performance and increase their competitive advantage. Students will start to become familiar with the
idea that many different kinds of businesses have had to change the way they operate, even the
National Basketball Association (NBA). Their new emphasis is on using the Internet and information
technology to mine statistical data and turn it into useful information. The challenges facing the NBA
show why information systems are so essential today. The NBA is a business as well as a sport, and it
needs to help its member teams stay in business and increase their revenues.
Section 1.1, The Role of Information Systems in Business Today , gives students a feel for the
importance of information systems in business today and how they have transformed businesses on
the world stage. A good discussion of the six important business objectives outlined in this section
allows the instructor and students to openly discuss why businesses have become so dependent on
information systems today and the importance of these systems for the survival of a firm. Stress to
students that information systems are not a luxury. In most businesses they are the core to survival.
This would be a good time to ask students to discuss how their own schools are using

about the responsibilities of a lawyer who deals with the criminal law * One of the major roles of a

are getting the best one to represent you at the court of law: * Do not believe what is claimed in the
advertisements and on the websites. Visit legal firms personally. This will give you a first hand notion
about the behaviors and whereabouts of the lawyers. Moreover, you will also be able to ask around
and gather information about the reputation of the legal firms. You will be able to interview the
lawyers you have shortlisted. This will help you to compare the qualification and the experiences of
each of the lawyers. * Remember, counting experience in the number of years a particular criminal
defense attorney has been in the business is not enough. You should ask whether s/he has dealt with
cases similar to yours. Check whether s/he has a high success rate. Moreover, it is important to check
whether the attorney is experienced in defending a case like

How Does Police Brutality On Children Affect How Society...
Imagine a young child screaming at the top of their lungs while being carried away, at what looks like
to be against their will. Many children have been removed from areas and even arrested by police
officers who have used unnecessary physical force on the child. Majority of these altercations between
the child and police, the child was unarmed, being cooperative, and not being violent towards the
police officer. When has there ever been a time where it was a justifiable right to harm a child that isn
t causing any physical harm to themselves or others? In this image one can note that the young boy is
terrified while being forcefully removed by authoritative figures, and one of the officers seem to find
the situation to be humorous. The boy was so scared that he urinated on himself. It s obvious that the
child is defenseless and shows no sign of hurting anyone, but yet the officers choose to handle the
situation with unnecessary force. How does police brutality on children affect how society portrays
law enforcement? Have children been traumatized after having to go through the experience of being
physically or even verbally harmed by an officer? Are the children given justice for this injustice act
by police? Police assert themselves, assumingly as helpful, caring, and always doing what is right for
the great or good of mankind, but this image highlights police officers often behave otherwise. For
example, a police officer forcefully threw and held a 15 year old boy, with

Paper On Pain
Effects of Pain
Pain is a natural occurring phenomenon within the body. Pain acts as an alert system for the body. It
notifies a person to an issue that is happening within the body such as a sprained ankle, or a broken
finger. Some people experience chronic pain. Chronic pain does not only effect a person physically. It
can also have effects that are mentally and emotionally overwhelming for the person suffering with
chronic pain. Pain is not as simple as a physical sensation you feel. However, there are multiple layers
to pain and how it affects a person s body. Pain affects your senses, your emotions and could affect
your mental state of mind.
Sensory Component
The sensory component of pain is when one becomes aware of the location of the pain on or within
the body. The pure perception of painful stimuli activates the primary and secondary somatosensory
cortex. Axons within the skin and muscles send the pain perception to the nervous system through the
spinal cord. This mechanism within the brain helps a person know of an injury within the body. Pain is
there to help you isolate the area that is injured. This is similar to when a person sprains their ankle. If
they were to put pressure on that ankle while it is healing could lead to further damage to the area. The

The Long Term emotional component is located in the pathways that lead to the prefrontal cortex of
the brain. Chronic pain is a well known health problem. Chronic pain can debilitate one s ability to
move with ease, may hinder their normal functioning, and the search for relief can lead to pain
medication addictions, which compound the problem (Babbel, 2010) The emotional stress associated
with chronic pain can worsen the pain. A traumatic even can cause one s nervous system going into
overdrive to help a person survive the traumatic event which could cause the nervous system to revert

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Contraceptives
There are many different contraceptives available to today s youth.
The first and major one would be the Birth control pills. There are two types of these pills, the first
being the Combined Oral Contraceptive Pills which contain two hormones, an oestrogen and progestin
and the second being the Progestin only pills which contains one hormone being progestin. The
Combined Oral Contraceptive pill works by stopping ovulation (release of an egg) and by inhibiting
the movement of sperm. Among common couples who start utilization of combined pills around eight
percent of women encounter an incidental pregnancy within the first year. Whereas if the pills are used
constantly and effectively, only three in 1000 women will become pregnant. Condoms are ... Show

They also reduce PMS symptoms, menstrual blood loss, anaemia and they stop endometriosis. The
disadvantages of the combined pill is that they do not protect against the contraction of HIV/AIDS or
other STIs; a women must remember to take the pill at the same time; every day, some women
experience headaches, depression or decreased enjoyment of intercourse. The Progestin only pills
work by making cervical mucus thicker so that the sperm cannot get to the egg and the also make the
lining of the uterus thinner, sometimes they even stop ovulation. The effectiveness against pregnancy
and the contraction of HIV/AIDS is the same as combined contraceptive pills. Some of the advantages
of choosing progestin only pills are that the amount of progestin in these pills in less than in combined
pills; these pills cause light menstrual flow and less anaemia and they also reduce menstrual cramps,
pain, headaches, mood swings and breast tenderness. The disadvantages of choosing progestin only
pills is that they cause your menstrual cycle to be irregular; like the combined pills, they do not protect
against HIV/AIDS or other STIs and a condom is recommended to be used at the same time.

  • 2. Proposed Genetic Algorithm Of Protein Tertiary Structure... In the next subsections, the proposed genetic algorithm of protein tertiary structure prediction will be described. i) The Proposed Genetic Algorithm Genetic Algorithms (GA) primarily motivated by the biological theory of evolution, and it was originally developed by J. Holland in 1975 [11]. The GA is is a search heuristic that mimics the process of natural selection. GA is based on the operations of population reproduction and selection to acheive optimal results. Through artificial evolution, successive generations search for fitter adaptations in order to solve a problem. Each generation consists of a population of chromosomes, representing a series of candidate solutions (called individuals) to an optimization problem, generally evolves toward better solutions by applying genetic operations of recombination and mutation to create a new offspring population from the current population. The process evolution usually starts from a population of randomly generated individuals or, using domain background knowledge. The generation process repeats for many generations with the aim of maximizing the objective Function (also called fitness) of the chromosomes that are evaluated each generation. Usually, the GA termination cindition are set to the maximum number of generations. ii) Genetic Representation In a GA, a population of chromosomes, representing a series of candidate solutions (called individuals) to an optimization problem, generally evolves toward better solutions. ... • 3. Possibilities And Challenges Of Interreligious And Secular... Possibilities and challenges of interreligious and secular dialogue in today s world. According to Zago, globalization was imminent and interreligious contact unavoidable, leading to religious pluralism. The tendency was increasing and creating challenge to mission, which would create not only meetings but also clashes among various religions. He anticipates the need of attitudes and initiatives for interreligious dialogue, but this Dialogue, however, must not eliminate proclamation that remains at the heart of mission and is the criterion by which to judge the validity of mission and to promote discernment in elaborating a theology of mission and dialogue. Religious pluralism presents challenges and opportunities for Christians to understand their own being, their mission, and relationship with other religions. Some tensions that may exist in duality are: fundamentalism/relativism, proclamation/dialogue, identity/openness, inculturation/syncretism, local autonomy/human rights, and freedom/reciprocity. Fundamentalism/relativism. These tensions could be beneficial or a problem especially when fundamentalism becomes radical. For instance, the situation that is happening in Syria, where there are people who practice three religions: Islam from different sects as Sunni, Shi a and Kharijites, Druzism, and Christians of different denominations. In addition, the research will seek to identify that consumers made purchase decision due to the psychological change or based on their sane thinking and to provide rational suggestions to consumers when they are choosing items for sales, and to provide a means to identify the real value of many kinds of discount. 2. Literature 2.1 Review of the relevant literature There is a large amount of literature about the pricing strategy or consumers behaviour for different sales promotion but there is surprisingly little research about the contributing factors that prompt customers buying behaviour. However by analysing consumers reaction to sales promotions, we can determine whether customers make their purchasing decisions based on internal or external factors. The internal factors would be customers initial needs, while external factors would include the influence of promotion advertising. The retail industry increasingly used sales promotions (Felgate et al. 2012). • 5. Let s Stop Judging A Book By It s Cover Just like Ghandhi said, an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. There are plenty of times, when we accidently may judge someone we don t know. For instance, when first going to a new class full of people, or even a job interview. Isn t it crazy how one small conversation with someone you don t know can change your total perspective on them? Personally, it happened to me so many times and the people I thought were weird turned out to be one of the coolest people I know. Let s stop judging a book by it s cover and actually read it and interpret it s true meaning. Kwame Anthony Appiah, who is the author of the book Cosmopolitanism is also the Laurance S. Rockefeller University Professor of Philosophy and a member of the University center for Human Values. Appiah believes that conversation can help end separation and boundaries people have around the world. Conversation can allow for cultural exchange, acceptance and resolve differences. After reading Making Conversation and the Primacy of Practice I believe conversation works as a positive model for resolving and managing world problems to a certain extent, depending on the individual/people you are talking to. Overall, some people you will try to converse with may be hard headed and so stuck on their views and others will be willing to compromise. Either way, conversation opens doors to new thoughts, perspectives, and voices to unheard views. Just like in math, there are so many ways to solve a problem. Just ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Miss Distance In the external guidance problem, the chief contributors to the miss distance are shown in figure (2 6) as mentioned in reference [35]: Fig. (2 6). The main reasons of miss distance The first reason is the heading error which is defined as the angle represents the deviation of the missile s velocity vector from the collision course. When the initial value of the heading error is different from zero, the missile tries to compensate the difference and this attempt causes a delay for sitting on the collision course. So, this contributes positively to the miss distance at the termination of the engagement. Another significant reason of the miss distance is the target maneuver. Compared to a stationary target, it is more difficult first to detect and then to track a moving target [36]. Moreover, the disturbing effects such as the noises affecting the electro optical part of the seeker and the radome refraction that occurs depending on the shape of the radome cause the seeker to generate the target information ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unfortunately TVM has some limitations. For example, the data link could be suffer from jamming. Conversely, it is not occur with an active homing missile. Furthermore, this technique utilizes the ground radar to keep the target illuminated throughout the engagement. Thus, the aircraft equipped with anti radiation missiles could detect and engage the SAM radar. Another drawback is that the missile must depend on the ground radar for guidance, so if the target hides behind hill, thus the missile cannot be able to detect reflected wave from the target which causes losing tracking of target. Some examples of missiles that use this kind of guidance are the Russian S 300PS, S 300F, S300 PMU, anti aircraft, and anti Cruise missile . Figure (2 12) shows the launcher of S 300 system. It is about the story of how a group of extractors infiltrate the minds of their targets, extracting information and planting ideas, which is called inception. After watching this movie, I was deeply impressed by its careful designation, the precise logic of the scenarios, its method of narration, as well as its use of symbols through the plot. An effective storyteller always draws the audience s attention. The narrative structure reveals the theme of the contrast and comparison between real life and life in dreams, and the representative symbols in the movie. Some techniques are also to be appreciated. To analyze the narrative structure, the main plot should be introduced at the beginning. Dominick Cobb and Arthur are extractors who are able to create dream scenarios that seems to be the real world, and they are able to lead other people into the dream worlds that they build and invade their subconscious, thereby getting valuable information. In a corporate espionage attempt, Cobb and Arthur are commanded to steal Saito s business secret. Department Of Homeland Security On March 31, 2016, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) started a nationwide campaign to warn against the dangers faced by the U.S. utilities against the cyberattacks. According to DHS, there were an estimated 331 hacks or physical attacks against the U.S. power grid from 2011 to 2014. As of February 2016, they are occurring at a rate of once every 4 days. A major cyberattack on the U.S. electric grid could cause over $1 trillion in economic damage, estimates ThreatTrackSecurity.com. (MacDonald, 2016, pg. 2). To detect a cyberattack on the power grid, Western Interconnection should implement a system that will allow public and private authorities to receive Indications and Warning (I W) when a cyberattack is in its early phase. Koester and Cohen (2012) discuss their Electric Power Grid Indications Warning Tool in their paper. The purpose of this tool is to provide near real time I W to alert private and public sector authorities when the likely causes of outage events are malicious activity. (Koester Cohen, 2012, p. 1). The tool minimizes false alarms due to severe weather and high temperatures. Implementing this solution will allow administrators at the Western Interconnection power grid to take precautionary measures as necessary. For example, the substations can be manually shutdown in case of a cyberattack, to prevent potential damage and spread of malware. In addition to the aforementioned tool, a ... There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers (Proverbs 6:16 19). The seven deadly sins are pride, gluttony, sloth, envy, greed, anger, and lust. Pride is the excessive belief that one person has so much belief in himself and his abilities, that it interferes with the person s realization of the grace of God. Pride is also known for the excessive pride in one s achievements, or in other words, vanity. Gluttony is to eat and drink more than one person requires. He organized the Virginia militias into disciplined units of the First Brigade. The opening battle to the Civil War was on July 21 1861. The battle of First Manassas, also known as the battle of Bull Run started with the Federals beating the Confederates. Henry House Hill was the last rallying possible rallying point. It was a dire situation for the Confederacy. Jackson had heard the fighting from where he was in Bull Run. He took initiative and moved off at once towards Henry Hill. Jackson emplaced his artillery on the main crest of the hill. He then positioned his infantry on the backside of the hill. This allowed his infantry to cover the gunners while staying out of sight. It was here that Jackson earned his nickname of Stonewall . A fellow commander named Bee was retreating when he noticed Jackson on the hill. He knew Jackson would hold. Because information is wildly available nowadays, finding wrong or skewed information is not only easy but common. Being that, students need to learn how to find and use the academic resources available. For University of Phoenix students, there are three main academic resources available. One of these is the wildly accessible resource called the Internet and the two exclusive resources for Phoenix s students only, the Centre for Writing Excellence and the University Library available on Phoenix Online. Internet. In this technological age, a student now has the internet at his fingertips. The internet is an extensive resource for learning new and interesting things, meaning it is an incredible writing resource. However, because the internet is so widely available for everyone, not everything is credible and reliable. • 22. My Observation Of Large Group Speech At The Iowa State... While sitting between two of the best speech coaches in Northwest Iowa, I felt my heart race as they began announcing the Critic s Choice Award for the ten different areas of large group speech. The atmosphere was that of the Academy Awards in CY Stephens Auditorium at Iowa State University for the 31st IHSSAAll State Large Group Speech Festival on Saturday, February 18. Students sat on the main level of the packed auditorium while family and friends filled the balcony. As I glanced over at Joel Stauffer and Todd McDonald, I realized there was no other place I would rather be. Our choral reading, Wild at Heart earned a chance to perform at the festival. The only times our school has won a banner was in 1991 for the ensemble, Night Mother under the direction of Mr. McDonald and in 1981 for duet acting. Earning a banner is a hard thing to do. There are no classes in speech competition; all 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A schools are grouped together. According to the Iowa ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I thought about the 104 students who participated in sixteen groups this year and all of the students who have touched my heart in previous years. I also thought of my time serving as an assistant coach to an amazing head coach, Joel Stauffer. • 23. Life Of Pi Close Reading Analysis Close Reading Yann Martel manipulates the narrative style and structural devices within this passage to support the will to survive theme that is present in Life of Pi. Before the shipwreck, Pi was a spiritual individual with a strong appreciation for the joy and peace in life. Pi commonly experienced cruelty and doubt from his family and friends; however, he remained calm by following the guidance from his three religions. After the shipwreck, the spirituality within Pi s life was tampered with because the chaotic and brute actions of the animals threatened to separate Pi from his peaceful demeanour. At first, Pi maintained his interaction with God, but as the days passed and the conditions worsened, Pi s animal instincts began to develop. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Richard Parker is a manifestation of the qualities that Pi needs; however, an abundance of these qualities will contribute to Pi s downfall. This concept is also represented later in the book when the blind French cook tries to trick Pi. The cook s primitive side overpowered him, causing him to die in the jaws of Richard Parker. If Pi did not tame his savagery, he would have been consumed by it, which would be represented by a fatal attack from Richard Parker. While contemplating the confrontation of his survival instincts, Pi says, to know that and to apply it are two very different things (Martel 246). This quotation describes the concept of survival in a lifeboat and in the real world. In both settings, it is difficult to deny yourself access to something that is lurking inside of you and pushing with so much force. Whether this quality is easily spotted or difficult to uncover, it is important to study it and decide if it is changing your character. Fortunately, Pi discovered early in his journey that the primitive qualities he was developing for survival were threatening to dominate him. After taming his savagery, Pi is pleased with his decisions and says Isn t that what all survivors say? (Martel 247). • 25. Essay On Relationship Between Lord Of The Flies And The... The politician Muhammad Ali Jinnah once said, Think 100 times before you take a decision, but once that decision is taken, stand by it as one man. In the novels Lord of the Flies, written by William Golding, and The Odyssey, written by Homer, this message is conveyed throughout. Furthermore, in Lord of the Flies the main character Ralph finds himself on an unfamiliar island and later finds other people. The story is characterized by the conflict between human natures; for example, savagery amongst the children and the hope for rescue. During the course of the book, Ralph is plagued with difficult decisions. Likewise, The Odyssey is about the journeys of a man named Odysseus who has to make numerous tough decisions on his voyage back home. In correlation to the eloquent dialogue of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, when making decisions, one must be thoughtful before undergoing the task. First, when making decisions, one must always acknowledge his opponents. One should especially consider the enemy s strengths and weaknesses. For example, after contemplating the skills of the Cyclops in the cave, Odysseus drew on all [his] wits, and ran through tactics... until a trick came and it pleased [him] well (Fitzgerald 381). Odysseus realizes that the Cyclops would defeat him in any physical confrontation due to his well developed brute strength; as a result, he plans to trick him because he knows that he is intellectually superior to the Cyclops. • 26. Julian Of Halloween Revelations Analysis Shimul Habib Professor Marcus Elder Medieval Theology Texts 6 May 2018 Julian of Norwich was an important Christian mystic and theologian in the fourteenth century. Her most well know work, Revelations of Divine Love is based on a series of sixteen visions she received while she was lying on, what was thought at the time, to be her deathbed. Having received these revelations at a time of great pain for herself, Julian s visions focus on the mysteries of Christianity, in particular, the vast love of God and the existence of evil. Her constant positive attitude and optimism while facing unfortunate circumstances really stood out and I will focus on what makes her unique and this attitude also makes her work more useful. She also describes how all things have being, because of three things: The first is that God made it; The second is that God loves it; The third that God keeps it (84). Nothing would exist if these things weren t true according to her. In her Revelations of Divine Love Julian shows great understanding and kindness in how she views God and the divine. • 27. QRS Syndrome Analysis As shown in Figure 1, the P wave is a result of atrial depolarization. The QRS complex is a result of ventricular depolarization, and thus ventricular contraction, as well as atrial repolarization simultaneously. The T wave represents repolarization of ventricles and thus relaxation. The delay between the P wave and the QRS complex is known as the PQ interval or the PR interval. During this interval, the atria contract and begin to relax, and the ventricles contract at the end of this delay (VanPutte et al., 2014). This time of this interval is important for determining many heart conditions, such as an atrial blockage, as it measures the time of onset of ventricular contraction after the atria contracts. If this time period is too long, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Heart rate begins to increase during exercise because in order to produce energy for contraction, the working leg muscles require more oxygen. When the subject increased exercise, the heart was beating faster to get oxygen to these cells and to circulate the blood back to the lungs to get rid of carbon dioxide. During exercise, the body needs more than the normal cardiac output, due to increased demand for oxygen. Thus the heart is beating harder to get blood to the body and this leads to an increase in MAP in the vessels as well. The heart ejects a greater volume of blood with each stroke and in turn, this creates a higher mean arterial pressure. Ultimately, an increase in heart rate leads to an increase in cardiac output which both work together to meet the body s oxygen demands (cardiac output= stroke volume x heart rate). As shown in both figures 4a and 4b, a plateau was reached because the body was performing at its maximum at that point. This may not be reflective of maximum heart rate as the body may have been able to reach a higher HR and MAP, but this was the hardest the body was working during this exercise. During recovery, both HR and MAP begin to fall, because oxygen demand to the muscles decrease as the working muscles begin to slow down. In Figure 4b, there is a slight ... Chronic pain does not only effect a person physically. It can also have effects that are mentally and emotionally overwhelming for the person suffering with chronic pain. Pain is not as simple as a physical sensation you feel. However, there are multiple layers to pain and how it affects a person s body.
