Climate Change And The Global Economy
As climate change continues to insist on the impending destabilization of the global economy, climate
change is observed from a multitude of angles that identify threats to sustainable development. The
corollaries generated by climate change are regularly interlinked, insinuating exponential exacerbation
for the issues at hand.
Nonetheless, prompt action can yield positive results in the overlapping constituencies.
As one of the most pressing issues of our time, it is of paramount necessity to speculate what policies
are in place to enforce the mitigation of climate change. What has been done ? What can we continue
to do and to what effectiveness ?
With the figure ground reversal and the perpetual shifts that have followed, Earth has emerged as a
human work of art . Human beings were the creations of the Earth and we are beginning to take over
that role partly because of our increasing power over parts of the biosphere, our ability to affect
natural systems, but more significantly because now that we can grasp the Earth in our mind s eye, we
increasingly see that we have it in our grasp (UofT, 1993, pg. 1). The encroachment and appropriation
of natural resources have contravened with the natural state of the planet, to the extent in which
Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions have drastically weakened our atmosphere.
The Kyoto protocol is an international agreement linked to the United Nations
Framework Convention of Climate change, which commits

A Stakeholder Management Model For Ethical Decision Making
It is important for a business to balance all the different stakeholders that a company might have.
Some stakeholders might have different priorities than others. For example, some shareholders expect
the business to give them only money while others stakeholders need good working conditions. Also,
investors might wish to see proof that the company responds to environmental matters before
promising money to a business. In addition, problems might happen when stakeholders compromise to
the expectation of other stakeholders.
The difference priorities of stakeholders can come into place when organizations have to come up
with a decision, they have to decide which stakeholders should be prioritized. When beginning the
dialogue with a specific stakeholder group, the management should explain from the beginning what
the intended objectives of the dialogue are.
Measure performance: the company should be able to tell how well its stakeholder management
processes are going which of course depends on what objectives the firm has set for a specific
stakeholder engagement process. ( a stakeholder management model for ethical decision
making|Simone de Colle Academia.edu , 2016)
Communication and reporting: corporation provides useful information about stakeholder views and
interests.
Review commitment and policies: Corporate s policies should be reviewed to respond to issues raised
by stakeholders.
Continuous engagement: It is necessary for corporations to have ongoing approach with

Examples Of Compromise In The Lover s Dictionary
The Lovers Dictionary Compromise is an agreement or a settlement of a dispute that is reached by
each side making concessions or an ability to listen to two sides in a dispute, and devise an agreement
acceptable to both parties. Compromise is not only just an agreement to settle a dispute, it is also
unselfishly giving up something for another while respecting their personal boundaries. One can
assume that with relationships there will always be disagreements and non compromise. Therefore, no
matter how many low points a relationship gets to there is always the ability to compromise to solve
an issue. Throughout The Lover s Dictionary there are many examples of compromise, but also many
examples of disagreements are exemplified between the couple depicted in the story. The narrator
does agree that compromise binds people together and makes the bond stronger. ... Show more content

In this text there is one example of compromise. The scene laid out for the reader is the narrator not
loving the very fragrant deodorant the partner wears. The only way the narrator would not wear that
deodorant was if the partner started to wear socks around the house. This is a prime example of
compromise because one is giving up something for another in order to create comfort in the
environment they are living in. At the end of this text there is a gray area where the narrator sends out
what some might perceive as a threat, but the narrator was trying to point out playful banter between
the two. This section has a jovial and amusing levity to it, supporting that the narrator has willingly

Outline and Assess Marxist Explanations of Crime
Outline and assess Marxist explanations of crime
Marxist and neo Marxist approaches and explanations of crime are arguably some of the most
controversial, for the reason that they state that it is the ruling class that is responsible for
criminalising the working classes, which goes directly against what official statistics and
Functionalists believe. However, Marxism and Functionalism do share a similarity in that both believe
structures and institutions of society play a very important role in determining how people behave,
criminally or otherwise.
Marxist sociologists argue that in order to understand crime and deviance, one needs to realise that it
is the nature of exploitative economic systems that capitalist societies have in ... Show more content

Functionalists argue that it represents everyone s interest whilst feminists argue it represents men s
interests.
The Neo Marxist new criminology developed in the early 1970 s is also key to understanding how
Marxists explain crime. Taylor, Walton and Young s work maintained that crime was best understood
in the context of capitalism and the inequalities it creates. One way that the neo Marxists slightly
differ with the traditional Marxist theories is that it says there is more freedom of choice that people
have when choosing to commit crime and people are not just puppets of the economy. Here it could be
said that the Neo Marxists are taking interactionist theories on board and are moving away from the
structuralist theories of traditional Marxism and Functionalism. With their book The New
Criminology Taylor et al. attempted to come up with a fully social theory of deviance and looked into
the importance of the labelling of certain groups within society as being criminal, in their case it was
black working class men being labelled as criminal and dangerous by the law and order systems as
well as the media. The book analyses the crisis faced by British capitalism during the recession of the
1970 s and the resulting threat to the authority of the state. It argues that the state responded to this
crisis by mounting a law and order campaign which lead to a moral panic over mugging. As a result,
black youth became increasingly

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Social Media
In August 6, 1991 Tim Berners Lee launched the first ever World Wide Web site online (Inventor of
World Wide Web Receives ACM A.M. Turing Award. April 4, 2017). Which had two main functions
in which we re to how to access another individuals file or document and to learn how to set up a
personal server. Moreover, after 1991 technology has had technological advancements and
improvements. The creation of Web 2.0 (Wikis, Blogs Web 2.0 technology, 2008) allowed anyone to
establish, create and share online information or express a certain opinion without any required usage
of skill. Social Media in the twenty first century is the main platform for communication and staying
updated with the latest pieces of information, such as academic articles, journals, books and much
more. The purpose of this review is to understand the advantages and disadvantages of social media in
politics and to explain how politics can be promoted in a stable situation and how politics can be
manipulated by social media. The definition of social media is the sharing, creating and exchanging of
different ideas, like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Blog groups and many other virtual
communities or networks (Social Media Overview). Social media has become a main platform by
politicians to let individuals join or participate in political engagement. (Kim Chen, 2016) discussed

Physical Development in Children Ages 3-7
Teaching and learning in Schools
Assignment 1
Physical Development between the age range of 3 7 years olds
Physical development provides children with the abilities they need to explore and interact with the
world around them. It is also about improving the skills of coordination, control, manipulation and
movement, although the age at which they achieve them may differ from child to child.
The physical development of young children must be encouraged through the provision of
opportunities for them to be active and interactive and to improve their skills.
They must be supported in using all of their senses to learn about the world around them and to make
connections between new information and what they already know. They must be ... Show more

We can then find out if anything has been going on at home and plan activities within school to help
them learn much easier to suit their needs and bring in activities that will stimulate them. Another
reason why children are observed could be because a child has not been very sociable and doesn t
have many friends or any at all. By observing them you can find out what is causing this, and can plan
activities that encourage the children to make friends and work as a team, for example, setting out
chairs in a certain way, then telling each child where to sit so that they don t favour their friends, they
are then encourage to communicate and get involved with the new children around them. As a
Classroom Assistant additional observation can help the teacher to diagnose children for classifying
them as visual, auditory, tactile or kinaesthetic learners.
Transitions are defined as any significant phase or experience in the life of a child that can affect
behaviour or development. Transitions include those that are common to all children and young
people, such as moving school.

Poisoning by Ingestion of Corrosive Chemicals
Introduction: Acute corrosive poisonings are caused by ingestion of corrosive chemicals which are
most commonly used as household agents. Intoxications with these kind of agents produce numerous
and severe post corrosive complications of the upper gastrointestinal tract. On the other hand, our
experience showed that corrosive agents may also cause injuries of the respiratory system, which
makes the treatment very hard and additionally complicates the severe clinical condition of the patient.
Objective: The aim of the study is to show the incidence of respiratory complications in acute
corrosive poisonings, the need of various clinical investigations and also the treatment and final
outcome of these kind of poisoning.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed clinical records of 415 patients hospitalized and treated at the
University clinic for toxicology and urgent internal medicine, in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia, in
the period between 2007 and 2011. The protocol consisted of methods for analyzing the systemic
complications, with an accent on the post corrosive respiratory complications.
Results: From the total number of patients even 98 (23.61%) exhibited systemic complications, from
which 51 (52.04%) are respiratory complications. The majority of patients are female (n=40, 78.43%)
and the most common complication is pneumonia (n=47). The youngest patient in this study was 14
and the oldest was 87 years old.

Genius and Madness in Christopher Smart s My Cat Jeoffry
A series of verses commencing with the word for , Christopher Smart s My Cat Jeoffry is surprisingly
modernistic and intriguing. Written while Smart was confined in a mental asylum for incessant
praying, the aphoristic poem praises the cat Jeoffry, a faithful servant to God. Unrestricted by rigid
poetic structures, My Cat Jeoffry is nevertheless organized and coherent, ablaze with a current of
religious fervour. It is impossible to know if the poem was inspired by genius or by madness, but it is
infused with sanity and truth. While the poem is about a cat s devotion to God through its daily
actions, Smart s My Cat Jeoffry also serves as a lesson to humankind. ... Show more content on

Is Smart perhaps inserting his characteristic wit into My Cat Jeoffry and alluding to John Wesley s
(1703 1791) dictum cleanliness is next to godliness ?
Superior to other animals due to the dexterity of his movements (40, 71), Jeoffry is able to serve God
asleep and awake, as emphasized in Smart s parallel lines For there is nothing sweeter than his peace
when at rest./For there is nothing brisker than his life when in motion (44 45). Jeoffry s abilities to
influence those around him is also brought into light in the parallel lines For he is hated by the
hypocrite and miser./For the former is afraid of detection./For the latter refuses the charge (57 59).
Jeoffry, even when his day s work is done (23), continues to work in God s grace by keeping the Devil
at bay with his electrical skin glaring eyes (25). This use of diction seems absurd, and one wonders if
Smart is not fooling his audience all along. Echoing William Blake s The Tiger and his Four Fold
Vision by the vivid descriptions of his Angel Tiger (29), Smart hints that there exist multiple layers in
My Cat Jeoffry . Without a doubt, Jeoffry s life can be paralleled to that of humankind. However, what
kind of person does Smart speak of? Is Smart truly praising those who are devoted to God, or is he
criticizing those who are over zealous in their devotions?
Given the knowledge of Smart s background,

How Did The Declaration Of Independence Affect The...
History has given great attention to the ideas of republicanism by systematically defining the
revolutionary movement. We must look back find the origin of republicanism and how it played a role
in justifying the Revolution. Specifically, did the Declaration of Independence reflect republican
values? If so, did this have any significance on how women were a part of the revolution both ideally
and in action? Republicanism was an ideology of governing a nation as a republic. The belonging and
governing allowed the foundation for great strides for society. It allowed individuals the right to
pursue life in a manner that grants them liberty and provides happiness. Securing the ideals and
theories of reform in the government allowed for growth and instituted consent of the governed among
men and women.

subordinate to males and were subject to laws and regulations imposed by men. However, the role of
women and their political, economic, and social rights shifted greatly because of the revolution.
Because they were responsible for marrying, raising families, and performing the duties of diligent

A. The gross profit margin for each product produced based on the ABC data can be determined by
the selling price minus the ABC cost per unit multiplied by the units produced (Edmonds, Tsay, Olds,

C. Under traditional costing, costs that were incurred to produce OS 367 were being allocated to GS
157 and HS 241 (Edmonds, Tsay, Olds, 2011). The more accurate allocations of the ABC system
shows that OS 367 actually cost more than previously determined (Edmonds, Tsay, Olds, 2011). The
higher costs result in lower profits (Edmonds, Tsay, Olds, 2011).

D. If the management of Drilling Innovations wishes to maintain a profit margin of thirty percent
based on the ABC costs as opposed to the traditional cost method, they would need a raise the selling
price of OS 367 to at least $19.65 (Edmonds, Tsay, Olds, 2011). This would yield a gross profit of
$4.95, $19.65 minus $13.75 equals $5.90, and a gross profit margin of thirty percent, $5.90 divided by
$19.65 equals thirty percent (Edmonds, Tsay, Olds, 2011). The target selling price is obtained by
dividing the unit cost, $13.75 by 1.0 minus the desired profit margin, $13.75 divided by .70 equals

[5] While culture techniques provide identification to a small population present on the surface of the
skin, this allows for only living species to be cultured. The populations identified using molecular
approaches showed a higher range of diversity, but measured both live and dead cells using 16S
ribosome RNA metagenomic sequencing. For a topical agent to be effective against P. acnes the
bacteria present should be alive to allow competition between bacterial cells, so the needs for
molecular approaches in this study are not necessary. Typical lab culture techniques will provide the
necessary isolates found living on healthy hosts. With the studies previously performed on ways to
treat acne, one team of investigators found that a fungus present in aloe vera exhibits antimicrobial
and anti inflammatory properties against P. acnes. [6] Talaromyces wortmannii poses Compound C,
which can be obtained from crude extracts of the aloe vera plant that is the host to this fungi.
Compound C showed inhibition of toll like receptors that induce inflammation response. P. acnes
induces inflammation through the use of toll like receptors, TLR 2 specifically, and induces
inflammatory cytokines and chemokines. [7] From Grice et al. of the overall species diversity on the

... I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun

through it not matter what (Lee, 11). This book is a story about two siblings that experienced many
things throughout the whole book, most of them hard and new to them, but at the end, they assimilated
to face these things. Their father, Atticus, was a lawyer who did everything at his hands to always do
the right thing, and as a result of that, Jem and Scout met several circumstances that other kids weren t

Cultural Practices Influence The Way We Perceive The World
Cultural practices influence the way we perceive the world. Our Western world is more exposed to
different things yet have a difficult time accepting Eastern cultures and how things beyond us work. A
major issue that is affected by culture is sexuality. A subtopic of sexuality is, slut shaming. Slut
shaming is, the act of making any person feel guilty or inferior for certain sexual behaviors or desires
that deviate from traditional or orthodox gender expectations, (Your Dictionary). My outside source,
Teen girls sexual double standards and sexting: Gendered value in digital image exchange, explains
the prominent gender inequalities and sexual double standards. However, the issue of culture shaping
thinking with slut shaming as the core issue at hand is asserting gender, religion, equality and
parenting.
Slut shaming shapes thinking of gender and equality because of how the double standards works. In
the eyes of many cultures a man would sleep with 5 women and be a legend, yet a woman sleeps with
5 men and she is worthless trash. In Eastern cultures this is extremely prominent. In many Eastern
cultures, such as Middle Eastern cultures, it is very well known that such cultures practice polygamy.
Polygamy is the practice or custom of having more than one wife or husband at the same time.
(Webster). This practice however is more seen throughout the male cohorts of the culture. A woman is
shunned and in most cases killed if she is with more than one man. In Western

The Pros And Cons Of Xenotransplantation
Animal experimentation is widely conducted for drug testing, medical training, education, as well as
Research and Development (R D). Over 100 million animals are killed in the laboratories annually,
and they are physically and psychologically traumatised by experimentation (PETA, 2017; Live
Science, 2017). However, the reality is that majority of animal experiments are unreliable. Most of
their sacrifices do not contribute to improving human health as the medical treatments developed in
animals rarely translate to human benefits due to the differing complexities between experimental
animals and humans (PETA, 2017; Live Science, 2017). Hence, we argue that the role of animal
experimentation in medical research is questionable.

Xenotransplantation is the procedure involving the transplantation of living cells, tissues or organs
from one species to another, particularly from animal to human (NHMRC, 2017). The most widely
studied animal species for xenotransplantation are pigs. Animals are genetically engineered to produce
human cells or substrates, which are used to incubate human organs (Vermeulen et al., 2017).
However, the ethical implications of such applications are debatable.
Since most of the animals involved in transplantation are genetically engineered (transgenic animals),
xenotransplantation is viewed by many as an unnatural and inappropriate interference in nature
(Manesh et al. 2014). Besides the deontological arguments, the consequences and complications of
transplantation process lead to ethical issues. Before and after the transplantation procedure, the organ
receiver must consume large doses of immunosuppressive drugs, which greatly affects their immune
system. The lack of scientific evidence on the desired functions of transplanted organs on individual
patients undermines the procedure s

There are positives and negatives found within all these different types of policing practices.
There are a number of conditions that are concern and determine the effectiveness of policing practice
and community policing. There are both positive and negative impacts of these conditions. Some
general conditions according to Casey (2010) revolve around the stability of the community and the co
operation and cohesion of this community. For the concept of community policing to work, there must
be a sense of stability within the community, trust with the police, belief of the community that the
police are generally interested in the benefit of the community (Ontario Ministry Of Children And
Youth Services, 2010), the belief and will of the country and community political commitment to help
reform and provide a better form of safety and cohesion of the community for its own benefit. Another
concept that is argued again is the resources of the police and government in different countries that
allow the functioning of these policing practices being undertaken. For example, in developing
countries, there are not usually any resources to apply these policing practices. Therefore also due to
these different conditions within this country such as South Africa for example, there won t be a
positive effect of community based policing strategy; because of culture and other impacts on the type
of communities and the running of the

rejuvenate the body and mind in several ways. Let s take a look at five of these.
#1 Yoga Helps You Sleep Better
Harvard Medical School researchers concluded during a recent study that a simple yoga practice can
reduce chronic insomnia problems. The study brought together a group of 20 chronic insomniacs, and
found that sleep efficiency, total sleep time and other sleep quality indicators ... Show more content on

This also translated into improved performances in reading comprehension tests, which are part of the

Where Do You Start?
If you aren t all that enthusiastic about twisting yourself into a pretzel, don t worry. Hatha yoga and
asanas aren t the last word on the yogic path. There are several online, guided meditations you could
begin with instead. Isha Kriya is a popular option, and takes about 12 minutes to complete. The UCLA
Mindful Awareness Research Center has a list of guided meditations too, though they are audio only
modules.
There are also a few general guidelines that will ensure you get the most out of your practice.
Wear Loose fitting Clothes
Skip the skin tights and figure hugging stuff and choose something which gives your body room. Tight
clothes can be a distraction while you are meditating or practicing and could end up playing spoilsport
with the whole experience. Organic garments are generally recommended by most texts on yoga, and
are said to be more supportive for your practice than synthetic

The Success Of Alexander The Great
Alexander the Great is one of the most successful military commanders of all time. Some may
attribute Alexander s success to his inheritance of the great Macedonian kingdom and military from
his father, Philip II. Although there is no doubt that this timely inheritance was a key factor in his
success, it was his military skills and generalship that gave him the ability to effectively utilize the
groundwork laid by his father. In order to fully understand the success of Alexander, we must first
look back to the influence and success of his father, Philip II. Greece had been unified under the
League of Corinth, so when Alexander assumed the throne, he did not need to worry about any
fighting to the south. Philip took the small and insignificant country of Macedon and turned it into one
of the greatest military powers in the ancient world. When Philip was assassinated, Alexander
inherited an extremely skilled and modernized army he could use to make his father s dream of
defeating the Persians come true (Martin, Ancient Greece p.221). Philip s reforms to the Macedonian
army include reorganizing the structure and the use of troops and improving weaponry and tactics
(Potter, Lecture 13 March 2015). The Macedonian phalanx was a great improvement over the hoplite
phalanx used in Greek warfare because of two reasons. Well trained soldiers, known as phalangite,
wore lighter armor that enabled them to move quicker and utilize their new, longer spears known as
sarissa, which

My Class Of Third Grade Children
CHILD FACTORS Goal Perception For my class of third grade children I believe that their ability of
goal perception and acceptance will vary greatly. For the eight students who are relatively free of

Sense of Autonomy and Autonomy Regulation I can predict a variety of levels in respect to a Sense of
Autonomy and Autonomy Regulation for my students. For the eight children with the potential of
being compliant and well behaved in my classroom are more likely to have a healthy sense of
autonomy and accept the power sharing needed to accomplish the goal. We will also have the ideal
relationship for mutual regulation, with little effort. For the majority of the children, they will have a
less sense of healthy autonomy. These children will connive for equal power shared between him/her
and myself. Time will be wasted here and more effort will be needed to achieve a zero sum game.
Lastly, the group of children with behavioral issues will most likely have an unhealthy sense of
autonomy and I will fail to accomplish my goals with them. I can estimate that power demands will be
high for this group of children in respect to a sense of autonomy and autonomy regulation.
Self Regulation and Conscience The age of the children in my third grade classroom varies from
young eight year olds to upper ten year old children. Based off of their ages I can estimate that the
older ones will have a more developmentally advanced form of self regulation. My older students will
have the ability to regulate their fine and

A Manifesto For Cyborgs By Donna Haraway
In A Manifesto for Cyborgs: Science, Technology, and Socialist Feminism in the 1980s, Donna
Haraway gives an introduction to cyberfeminism and argues that there should be a new way to view
the world and the issues that are currently faced The ironic political myth faithful to feminism,
socialism, and materialism would ultimately be the cyborg (2190). The cyborg has no origin,
therefore, it can understand the world without bias. Haraway discusses three important boundaries that
support her main ideas throughout her essay.
The boundary between human and animal is Haraway s way of saying that humans and animals are
the same and should not be put into separate categories. The cyborg can think beyond the thought of
humans and animals separately and view them as one species. The boundary between animal human
and machine is used to describe the way Haraway views machines. Machines were lifeless.
Nevertheless, machines have advanced beyond belief and there is no longer a distinction between
humans and machines. Lastly, Haraway discusses the boundary between the physical and the non
physical with an example of televisions. Televisions use light. Nonetheless, no one can actually touch
light so therefore the line between the physical and non physical is distorted. ... Show more content on

Fall of the Roman Republic Julius Caesar Essay
There are many contributions to the fall of the roman republic. Three of the main ones can be linked to
the Actions and legacy of Sulla, Caesars military campaigns and Caesars dictatorship. The decline of
the Republic began in the middle of the second century B.C. with political, economic, and social
events. These events in addition to the burdens of civil war on Rome, lead to the inevitable failure of
the Republic.
The first contribution to the fall of the roman republic is linked to the actions and legacy of Sulla.
Sulla had a high political position because he raised an army over the Italian rebels. Using his position
he marched on Rome and had the senate outlaw marius. He then went east to fight Mithradates, an
eastern king. Marius ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another contribution to the fall of the roman republic is Julius Caesar. Caesar was neither the only
man responsible for the fall, nor the one man who could stop it, but his role in the final demise is
undeniable. Different events Caesar played were not a result of seeking power but as how to humiliate
the senate.
Julius Caesar s triumph in a civil war in the 40s BC made him the absolute ruler of Rome he rose to
power through his social status, financial support, military leadership, and political reputation. Caesar
became the proprietor in Spain, where he gained some military experience and wealth. Upon returning
to Rome in 60 BC he joined Crassus and Pompey to form the First Triumvirate, a trio of political
leaders.
The other two triumvirs agreed to grant Julius Caesar the office of consul in 59 BC. He was appointed
the governor of Roman Gaul in 58 BC and built up an army there. Caesar marched north into Gaul and
defeated the Helvetii. Caesar s military contributions to the empire were significant, but he destroyed
the Republic with his civil wars. His march on Rome exploited the precedent of Sulla, whose own
march was due to far more legitimate political issues. Caesar simply didn t want to be prosecuted for
the innumerable laws he broke during his consulship, and so refused to lay down his arms when
ordered by the Senate and People of

Pro Abortion Essay
Through many years, abortion is still considerably a very controversial issue in the society. In 1973,
the U.S Supreme Court case of Roe vs Wade, abortion is a legal choice for pregnant women (Center
for Reproductive Rights, 2003). However, in some countries like Philippine, Chile, Nigeria, etc.
Abortion is noticeably illegal (Center for Reproductive Rights, 2003). In addition, having abortion is a
very risky taken because women lose a lot of blood and especially feeling pain. When woman decides
to abort the future baby, it means that she is taking someone s life, so abortion is murder. According to

(BMC Women s health, 2013). For example, raising a child is absolutely not an easy process because
it needs time, money and providing love to children. If abortion is legal the unwanted baby is not
suffering from living in an unhappy live. However, there are several reasons that abortion should not
be legal. Firstly, women choose termination of pregnancy because of the gender selective. The study
from 2000 to 2014 shows that there were 24 million girls have been missing because of sex selective
abortion Based on this natural ratio, there should have been 47 million more boys than girls born since
2000. Instead, because of sex selective abortions, there were 71 million more boys than girls born.
(World Population Institute, 2000 2014).For instance, in some countries like India, China and etc.
people prefer boys than girls because daughters maybe considered as burden to the parents and
especially, an expensive dowry is needed once when she is married. Meanwhile, sons alone inherit
property, conduct funeral rites and carry on the family name. Secondly, abortion can positively result
in psychological problems for women such as depression, anxiety, drug abuse, post traumatic stress
disorder (PTSD), suicidal ideation etc. Researchers

the define phase, the company did not collect and analyze customer opinions and preferences, despite
one of the deep purpose of the project being to improve customer satisfaction. As such there is little
evidence to prove whether the project goals were in line with user requirements or not. Besides, after
the team set up the project goals, an in frame/out of frame analysis was established to manage the
scope of the project from the information technical (IT) and branch operations perspective. This was
done to establish what was within direct control of the team and what was not. However, from a
business perspective, they did not have a clear and reachable plan for the project time period, and no

  • 2. Climate Change And The Global Economy As climate change continues to insist on the impending destabilization of the global economy, climate change is observed from a multitude of angles that identify threats to sustainable development. The corollaries generated by climate change are regularly interlinked, insinuating exponential exacerbation for the issues at hand. Nonetheless, prompt action can yield positive results in the overlapping constituencies. As one of the most pressing issues of our time, it is of paramount necessity to speculate what policies are in place to enforce the mitigation of climate change. What has been done ? What can we continue to do and to what effectiveness ? With the figure ground reversal and the perpetual shifts that have followed, Earth has emerged as a human work of art . Human beings were the creations of the Earth and we are beginning to take over that role partly because of our increasing power over parts of the biosphere, our ability to affect natural systems, but more significantly because now that we can grasp the Earth in our mind s eye, we increasingly see that we have it in our grasp (UofT, 1993, pg. 1). The encroachment and appropriation of natural resources have contravened with the natural state of the planet, to the extent in which Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions have drastically weakened our atmosphere. • 3. A Stakeholder Management Model For Ethical Decision Making It is important for a business to balance all the different stakeholders that a company might have. Some stakeholders might have different priorities than others. For example, some shareholders expect the business to give them only money while others stakeholders need good working conditions. Also, investors might wish to see proof that the company responds to environmental matters before promising money to a business. In addition, problems might happen when stakeholders compromise to the expectation of other stakeholders. The difference priorities of stakeholders can come into place when organizations have to come up with a decision, they have to decide which stakeholders should be prioritized. When beginning the dialogue with a specific stakeholder group, the management should explain from the beginning what the intended objectives of the dialogue are. Measure performance: the company should be able to tell how well its stakeholder management processes are going which of course depends on what objectives the firm has set for a specific stakeholder engagement process. ( a stakeholder management model for ethical decision making|Simone de Colle Academia.edu , 2016) Communication and reporting: corporation provides useful information about stakeholder views and interests. Review commitment and policies: Corporate s policies should be reviewed to respond to issues raised by stakeholders. • 4. Examples Of Compromise In The Lover s Dictionary The Lovers Dictionary Compromise is an agreement or a settlement of a dispute that is reached by each side making concessions or an ability to listen to two sides in a dispute, and devise an agreement acceptable to both parties. Compromise is not only just an agreement to settle a dispute, it is also unselfishly giving up something for another while respecting their personal boundaries. One can assume that with relationships there will always be disagreements and non compromise. Therefore, no matter how many low points a relationship gets to there is always the ability to compromise to solve an issue. Throughout The Lover s Dictionary there are many examples of compromise, but also many examples of disagreements are exemplified between the couple depicted in the story. The narrator does agree that compromise binds people together and makes the bond stronger. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this text there is one example of compromise. The scene laid out for the reader is the narrator not loving the very fragrant deodorant the partner wears. The only way the narrator would not wear that deodorant was if the partner started to wear socks around the house. This is a prime example of compromise because one is giving up something for another in order to create comfort in the environment they are living in. At the end of this text there is a gray area where the narrator sends out what some might perceive as a threat, but the narrator was trying to point out playful banter between the two. This section has a jovial and amusing levity to it, supporting that the narrator has willingly compromised with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Outline and Assess Marxist Explanations of Crime Outline and assess Marxist explanations of crime Marxist and neo Marxist approaches and explanations of crime are arguably some of the most controversial, for the reason that they state that it is the ruling class that is responsible for criminalising the working classes, which goes directly against what official statistics and Functionalists believe. However, Marxism and Functionalism do share a similarity in that both believe structures and institutions of society play a very important role in determining how people behave, criminally or otherwise. Marxist sociologists argue that in order to understand crime and deviance, one needs to realise that it is the nature of exploitative economic systems that capitalist societies have in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Functionalists argue that it represents everyone s interest whilst feminists argue it represents men s interests. The Neo Marxist new criminology developed in the early 1970 s is also key to understanding how Marxists explain crime. Taylor, Walton and Young s work maintained that crime was best understood in the context of capitalism and the inequalities it creates. One way that the neo Marxists slightly differ with the traditional Marxist theories is that it says there is more freedom of choice that people have when choosing to commit crime and people are not just puppets of the economy. Here it could be said that the Neo Marxists are taking interactionist theories on board and are moving away from the structuralist theories of traditional Marxism and Functionalism. With their book The New Criminology Taylor et al. attempted to come up with a fully social theory of deviance and looked into the importance of the labelling of certain groups within society as being criminal, in their case it was black working class men being labelled as criminal and dangerous by the law and order systems as well as the media. The book analyses the crisis faced by British capitalism during the recession of the 1970 s and the resulting threat to the authority of the state. It argues that the state responded to this crisis by mounting a law and order campaign which lead to a moral panic over mugging. As a result, black youth became increasingly ... Intoxications with these kind of agents produce numerous and severe post corrosive complications of the upper gastrointestinal tract. On the other hand, our experience showed that corrosive agents may also cause injuries of the respiratory system, which makes the treatment very hard and additionally complicates the severe clinical condition of the patient. Objective: The aim of the study is to show the incidence of respiratory complications in acute corrosive poisonings, the need of various clinical investigations and also the treatment and final outcome of these kind of poisoning. • 9. Genius and Madness in Christopher Smart’s My Cat Jeoffry... Genius and Madness in Christopher Smart s My Cat Jeoffry A series of verses commencing with the word for , Christopher Smart s My Cat Jeoffry is surprisingly modernistic and intriguing. Written while Smart was confined in a mental asylum for incessant praying, the aphoristic poem praises the cat Jeoffry, a faithful servant to God. Unrestricted by rigid poetic structures, My Cat Jeoffry is nevertheless organized and coherent, ablaze with a current of religious fervour. It is impossible to know if the poem was inspired by genius or by madness, but it is infused with sanity and truth. While the poem is about a cat s devotion to God through its daily actions, Smart s My Cat Jeoffry also serves as a lesson to humankind. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Is Smart perhaps inserting his characteristic wit into My Cat Jeoffry and alluding to John Wesley s (1703 1791) dictum cleanliness is next to godliness ? Superior to other animals due to the dexterity of his movements (40, 71), Jeoffry is able to serve God asleep and awake, as emphasized in Smart s parallel lines For there is nothing sweeter than his peace when at rest./For there is nothing brisker than his life when in motion (44 45). Jeoffry s abilities to influence those around him is also brought into light in the parallel lines For he is hated by the hypocrite and miser./For the former is afraid of detection./For the latter refuses the charge (57 59). Jeoffry, even when his day s work is done (23), continues to work in God s grace by keeping the Devil at bay with his electrical skin glaring eyes (25). This use of diction seems absurd, and one wonders if Smart is not fooling his audience all along. Echoing William Blake s The Tiger and his Four Fold Vision by the vivid descriptions of his Angel Tiger (29), Smart hints that there exist multiple layers in My Cat Jeoffry . Without a doubt, Jeoffry s life can be paralleled to that of humankind. However, what kind of person does Smart speak of? Is Smart truly praising those who are devoted to God, or is he criticizing those who are over zealous in their devotions? Given the knowledge of Smart s background, ... We must look back find the origin of republicanism and how it played a role in justifying the Revolution. Specifically, did the Declaration of Independence reflect republican values? If so, did this have any significance on how women were a part of the revolution both ideally and in action? Republicanism was an ideology of governing a nation as a republic. The belonging and governing allowed the foundation for great strides for society. It allowed individuals the right to pursue life in a manner that grants them liberty and provides happiness. Securing the ideals and theories of reform in the government allowed for growth and instituted consent of the governed among men and women. The populations identified using molecular approaches showed a higher range of diversity, but measured both live and dead cells using 16S ribosome RNA metagenomic sequencing. For a topical agent to be effective against P. acnes the bacteria present should be alive to allow competition between bacterial cells, so the needs for molecular approaches in this study are not necessary. Typical lab culture techniques will provide the necessary isolates found living on healthy hosts. With the studies previously performed on ways to treat acne, one team of investigators found that a fungus present in aloe vera exhibits antimicrobial and anti inflammatory properties against P. acnes. It s when you know you re licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see through it not matter what (Lee, 11). This book is a story about two siblings that experienced many things throughout the whole book, most of them hard and new to them, but at the end, they assimilated to face these things. Their father, Atticus, was a lawyer who did everything at his hands to always do the right thing, and as a result of that, Jem and Scout met several circumstances that other kids weren t exposed to and they learned to forgive and and appreciate others the way they are. Our Western world is more exposed to different things yet have a difficult time accepting Eastern cultures and how things beyond us work. A major issue that is affected by culture is sexuality. A subtopic of sexuality is, slut shaming. Slut shaming is, the act of making any person feel guilty or inferior for certain sexual behaviors or desires that deviate from traditional or orthodox gender expectations, (Your Dictionary). My outside source, Teen girls sexual double standards and sexting: Gendered value in digital image exchange, explains the prominent gender inequalities and sexual double standards. However, the issue of culture shaping thinking with slut shaming as the core issue at hand is asserting gender, religion, equality and parenting. Slut shaming shapes thinking of gender and equality because of how the double standards works. In the eyes of many cultures a man would sleep with 5 women and be a legend, yet a woman sleeps with 5 men and she is worthless trash. In Eastern cultures this is extremely prominent. In many Eastern cultures, such as Middle Eastern cultures, it is very well known that such cultures practice polygamy. Polygamy is the practice or custom of having more than one wife or husband at the same time. (Webster). This practice however is more seen throughout the male cohorts of the culture. Over 100 million animals are killed in the laboratories annually, and they are physically and psychologically traumatised by experimentation (PETA, 2017; Live Science, 2017). However, the reality is that majority of animal experiments are unreliable. Most of their sacrifices do not contribute to improving human health as the medical treatments developed in animals rarely translate to human benefits due to the differing complexities between experimental animals and humans (PETA, 2017; Live Science, 2017). Animals are genetically engineered to produce human cells or substrates, which are used to incubate human organs (Vermeulen et al., 2017). However, the ethical implications of such applications are debatable. Since most of the animals involved in transplantation are genetically engineered (transgenic animals), xenotransplantation is viewed by many as an unnatural and inappropriate interference in nature (Manesh et al. 2014). Besides the deontological arguments, the consequences and complications of transplantation process lead to ethical issues. Some general conditions according to Casey (2010) revolve around the stability of the community and the co operation and cohesion of this community. For the concept of community policing to work, there must be a sense of stability within the community, trust with the police, belief of the community that the police are generally interested in the benefit of the community (Ontario Ministry Of Children And Youth Services, 2010), the belief and will of the country and community political commitment to help reform and provide a better form of safety and cohesion of the community for its own benefit. Some may attribute Alexander s success to his inheritance of the great Macedonian kingdom and military from his father, Philip II. Although there is no doubt that this timely inheritance was a key factor in his success, it was his military skills and generalship that gave him the ability to effectively utilize the groundwork laid by his father. In order to fully understand the success of Alexander, we must first look back to the influence and success of his father, Philip II. Greece had been unified under the League of Corinth, so when Alexander assumed the throne, he did not need to worry about any fighting to the south. Philip took the small and insignificant country of Macedon and turned it into one of the greatest military powers in the ancient world. When Philip was assassinated, Alexander inherited an extremely skilled and modernized army he could use to make his father s dream of defeating the Persians come true (Martin, Ancient Greece p.221).
