ARH305 Archaeological Interpretation
Petristan: The Seriation of Pottery Types
The state of Petristan is a vast landmass acknowledged as the subcontinent of India, spreading across
the watershed of Paratha Valley in the West and Korma River in the East, with the early civilization
which ranged from 2700 to 1700 B.C. Recent discoveries have asserted the notion that the early
civilization of Paratha Valley has greatly influenced the formation of the Petristan state. Consequently,
The Petristan State Archaeological Survey has selected 5000 sherds from eighteen probable sites by
random sampling techniques in effort to investigate the proposed postulation. In principal, relative

According to Table 1.1, water vessel type W1 popularity increased over time, while water vessel type
W2 decreased (refer to Chart #1). With this information, we may include the remaining archaeological
data of water vessels in sites D and GM into the table with correct chronological order that pre dates
2200 B.C. In essence, we now know the chronological flow of the sites from recent to oldest, which
are PGU , B , PGL , D and GM respectively. Sites (In chronological order from recent to oldest) | W1 |
W2 | W3 | Sq. Seal | Rec. Seal | Phul Gobi Upper(2100 +/ 50 BC) | 19.3 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 | B (2200 B.C.) |

Evidently, based on the locations of all the eighteen sites on the map and statistical data given, it is
highly probable that the sites were divided into three separate zones. Firstly, we may perceive the sites
A , B , C , D , E , G , Garam Masala (GM), Phul Gobi Lower (PGL), Phul Gobi Upper (PGU), and
Tiltandula (T) located on the plains as the Lower Zone. Secondly, all sites that are

The North Campfire Culmination By: Kyle P, Donavan M, Sawyer D, Ricki S, and Joseph C
Differences: The North had 22,000,000 troops and the South had only 9,000,000. During the battle the
North had twice as many soldiers then the South. But, during the battle the South had about 3,500,000
slaves as their help, during the battle. 92% of the nation s industries were in the North, very little
industrial development, mostly an agrarian economy in the South. The North had 75% of the nation s
wealth banking, manufacturing, and shipping. Most of the wealth in the South was in land and in
slaves. The cause for fighting was to preserve the Union at first. Later the emancipation of slaves. The

Choosing the Right Structure for a New Business
Choosing the Right Structure for a New Business 1. Introduction A new idea for a business is the
setting up of a mobile photographic studio. There are many individuals who want family portraits, or
photos for identification or other reasons, who do not have time to go to a professional photographer.
There are already a number of services where photographers will set up in a shopping centre to take
family portraits of photos of children, or go to schools and take children s photographs to sell to
parents. The new idea takes this a stage further, allowing a family to invite a photographer into there
home for a set period of time, for a set price which will include a specific number of photographs. The
idea of the convenience, as well as high quality of service, will create differentiation, with the aim of
gaining business by recommendation. The business will be set up ion an areas where there are is a
large population of middle and upper class families, and where a similar service is not easily
identifiable. In order to set up the business it is necessary to consider the practical implications
associated with the different business structures which may be used to establish the firm. 2. Forms of
Business Organization When setting up a business, the idea is only a part of the process. It is also
necessary to consider the way in which the business itself will be set up in order to function. There are
three basic structure which may be used; sole proprietor, partnership

Banning Books Should Be Banned
Throughout history many books have been banned, for many reasons. I believe that banning books is a
dangerous power to give the government or people in authority. Banning book is not only morally
unjust but also I believe that some of the reasons are also illegal. I will explain my opinion in the
following. Banning books can be a dangerous power because banning restricts authors. Today, people
are praised for individuality and uniqueness, and banning books contradicts that. Many authors write
about things that have happened in their lives or they express their way of living and banning a book
that doesn t fit in with what societies way of life is, is wrong. Society may believe in one thing but not
all people do. I also believe that banning books is a form of bullying. Banning is like telling the
author, you don t fit in with everyone else so you can t have books published. I guess, a authors are
supposed to put their beliefs on the back burner in order to make money from published books. In
history some authors were exiled because they wrote about social corruption. ... Show more content on

Many books have been written about government corruption and the government has used banning so
that the corruption is kept a secret. Authority uses banning as a way to hide the truth about what s
going on in the world. The book The Autobiography of Malcom X, 1965 was banned because it was a
how to manual for crime and it contained anti white statements . In reality Malcom X was a human s
right activist and has been called the most influential American in recent history. The black
community was upsets about the banning because the book represented life as they lived it. The
government didn t want the truth to get out about how blacks were treated and how they felt about it,
so they banned the

University Galleries
On September 18,2017 I visited the University Galleries located at Texas State University had an
amazing piece of art on display called The Last Supper: 700 Plates Illustrating Final Meals of U.S.
Death Row Inmates created by Julie Green. Once entering the exhibit the viewers attention focuses on
the deep black letters painted onto the wall, revealing the statistics of the death penalty in the United
States. Moving throughout the room the inmates last meals were painted onto ceramic plates varying
in size and style. Julie Green displayed the ceramic plates in a thick horizontal line on all four walls of
the exhibit giving the viewers an understanding for each meal. Specifically on plate 66 the artist
caught my attention with the color, texture, and lines illustrated throughout the ceramic plate. The
plate was from an inmate in California who requested white meat chicken from Kentucky Fried

On plate 66 there was a great amount of value painted onto the plate displaying different tints and
shades throughout. The face on the Kentucky Fried Chicken bucket had a light tint mainly around the
cheekbone, opposed to the eyes and mustache had a dark shade. In addition, the sugar free pecan pie
had a dark shade towards the center of the pie with a light tint on the crust making a great contrast
with each other. Shifting to color intensity on the ceramic plate, it was very muted giving the viewers
a gloomy, and depressing feeling. The artist most likely did this due to the fact it was the last time the
prisoners were going to enjoy a meal before being executed. Proceeding to the last component of
color, which is hue. Julie Green used different shades of blue to express how serious the death penalty
was, and to show how many people are executed in the United

Floor Mill Research Paper
A small home can either feel cramped or cozy. Unfortunately, if you are like most people you probably
don t like the feeling of being crammed into a room. Luckily, you can trick your eye into believing
your space is much larger by using the right floor tile. Incredibly easy and very effective, switching up
your floor tile is a great way to revamp a small space.
So how you can use floor tile to make your space appear larger? Here are three basic tips:
1. Opt For Larger Tiles
Perhaps the easiest way to make a small space appear larger is to use larger floor tiles. Now this might
sound counterproductive, but it is actually very effective. Larger floor tiles are often less busy, which
automatically opens up the space. In addition, larger floor tiles require less grout. Less grout means
there is less contrast to break up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Choose The Correct Color
Another helpful tip is to choose the correct color for your floor tile. As you might expect, lighter
colors will open up the space better. This is because light and neutral colors are less busy. Lighter
colors also reflect light better, which automatically makes a space appear bigger. If you don t want
your flooring to be a single boring color, don t worry. You can always add accent tiles in a fun or
bright color to liven up the space.
Choosing a color for your tile might seem difficult, but it doesn t have to be. Visit a local tile store and
select some samples that you like. Take the samples home and see how they look in the space. Be sure
to examine the tiles at varying times, as natural light can change how they look. Once you find a color
and style you look, you ll be good to go.
3. Vary Tile Shape
Finally, don t feel like you need to stick to a single tile shape. Varying the shape of the tiles can be
very helpful in making your space appear larger. Subtle changes in texture or shape will provide some
variety to the eye and make the space appear bigger. It s another simple tip, but again it is quite

Foltz Gray D. The Native American effect It is clear that throughout many years there has been an
exemption of treatment when talking about the Native Americans in the United States. Supposedly
every individual is endowed with the right of freedom, equality, and of seeking for happiness, but
Native Americans were treated irrationally. From the discovery of America, to the founding fathers
and settlers, the treatment and attitude towards Native Americans has been unsettling at best. The
colonial policies toward the Native Americans affected the Indians in ways that changed their
relationship between their tribes and the new nation. Cabeza de Vaca, Roger Williams, Cotton Mather,
and Benjamin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Roger Williams was an American Protestant theologian, and the first American proponent of religious
freedom and the separation of church and state. He was a student of Native American languages and
an advocate for fair dealings with Native Americans. Having learned their language and customs,
Williams gave up the idea of being a missionary and never baptized a single Indian. Having
established a rapport with and understanding off the Native Americans, Williams became a keen and
sympathetic observer of the native people. He called on Puritans to deal fairly with the Native
Americans. Williams nevertheless saw that the American Indians were no better or worse that the
rogues who dealt with them, and that in fact they possessed a marked degree of civility (Williams The
Norton Anthology American Literature p.174). During the late years of the 17th century, the Native
Americans and Puritan settlers had struggled to get along. Due to their clashing views on political and
cultural issues, neither faction regarded the other as a respectable group. Cotton Mather displays a
totally antagonistic view towards the Native Americans. Mather proves a negative relationship
between the natives and the settlers by displaying the barbarous behavior or violent actions of those
whom they consider to be culpable of wickedness. I believe when Benjamin Franklin was writing

The Role of Women in Homer’s Iliad Essay
The Role of Women in Homer s Iliad
Homer s Iliad is undoubtedly focused on its male characters: Achilles, primarily, but also Hector and
Agamemnon. Nevertheless, it seems that the most crucial characters in the epic are female. Homer
uses the characters of Thetis, Andromache, and Helen as a basis for comparison to the male characters.
Homer wants his audience to see and understand the folly of his male characters in choosing war over
peace, aggression over kindness, and honor over family. While the behavior of these characters clearly
speaks for itself, the contrasting attitudes and behaviors of the female characters proffer an alternative;
in comparison, the reader can hardly fail to concur with Homer s message that war, aggression, ...

Thetis is always motivated by her love and pity for her son, two emotions he seems unable to feel
himself. As a loving mother, she is concerned for her son and his future and so ensures that he is aware
of his options. Out of respect for him, she allows Achilles to make his own decision and goes as far as
to support him fully, although the attentive reader can sense that doing so is immensely painful for her.
Therefore, although it superficially seems that Thetis supports war and aggression, her true motives
are far more admirable.
Unlike Thetis, Andromache s values are clear. On the rampart in book six, she makes an impassioned
plea to Hector for reason and peace. Pity me, please! she says, Take your stand on the rampart here,
before you orphan your son and make your wife a widow. (ll. 230 231) When her fears are realized
and Hector is struck down by Achilles, she laments, Hector, what help are you to [Astyanax], now you
are dead? (l. 571) This single statement lays bare the true folly of pride: How can one justify the
preservation of honor at the cost of the destruction of all that one fought for in the first place?
Finally, there is great irony in the lamentations of both Helen and Briseis for Hector and Patroclus
respectively. Helen proclaims her respect for Hector s kindness: Hector, you d win them to my side . . .
you with your gentle temper, all your gentle

majority of variables remain constant between 2 year and 4 year institutions, therefore posing the
question is this an issue among 2 year colleges as well. The focus of this research paper is to establish
the significance of binge drinking within the community college setting, consider what the causes are
and how to change the thought processes that are intertwined within this culture through
prevention/harm reduction education.

The Film Analysis Of Alfred Hitchcock s Psycho
Alfred Hitchcock is widely considered one of the most essential directors of all time and has
undeniably revolutionized the cinematic art form and horror genre movement. A key ingredient to his
productions is the psychoanalysis of the movie s villains and the deceivery at comes with deep
psychosis. These elements are what have taken Hitchcock from a good director to a legend. Hitchcock
layers his movies in ways in which every time one watches his films they can pick up on a new detail
that deepens the meaning and effects of the storyline. This is exactly what he does in his 1960 film,
Psycho. By layering Freudian psychoanalysis, creating a twist ending and suspense, and giving the
villain of the story, Norman Bates, a deeply rich background story, Hitchcock creates phenomenon in
the audience arguably scarier, then Norman s murders. Through this use the psychoanalysis and
backstory, the audience also feels sympathy for Norman. This duality is what makes Hitchcock a
wonderful artist and Psycho, a piece of art. The first way in which Hitchcock gets his audience to feel
sorry for Norman is his first conversation with Marion Crane. When the audience first sees Norman
greeting Marion they see a very fresh faced boy who looks very sheltered and innocent. This is one of
Hitchcock s first uses the Freudian analysis. Freud believed that all human desire could be broken
down into one primitive binary code: sex and aggression, also construed as love and death. He says

The Most Important Event Of My High School Swim Career
How are you feeling? I once heard a voice asking from behind. I turn around to see my coach standing

everything I ve been working towards for for the past four years. It has been my goal ever since I
joined Swim Team freshman year that I would qualify for State to swim in the A Girls Relay as well as
an individual event of my own. Out of the two, I ve only succeeded one. Before my coach left to get
into position and watch this fascinating race, she did her best to calm me down. She whispered a
secret tip she used to do before her races. She advised me to cough. This may seem weird at first, but

Another topic that caught my attention was of bad faith. It was made clear today that this concept is
basically restricting one s choices due to pressure from external sources like society, family, etc.
Basically, the statement of, I have no choice, this is the only one that I have. It is highly evident in the

choose the lesser of two evils. Personally, I didn t give in and I chose to go for the candidate that was

The information gained from such a comparison allows firms to determine how well they perform in

degree of brand consciousness globally. Both companies try to market as part of a lifestyle. Coca Cola
uses phrases such as Coke side of life in their website, while Pepsi uses phrases such as Hot stuff in
their web, to promote the idea that Pepsi is in sync with the cool side of life.
Ironically, both Pepsi and Coke have similar beginnings: both were created in the 19th century and
both were the results of the experimental work of innovative pharmacists. Coke was created in ...

Although Pepsi s dividend payout ratio is slightly lower than Coca Cola s, the difference is marginal.
(Finance)
The Dividend Payout Ratio means the percentage of earnings paid to shareholders in dividends. The
payout ratio provides an idea of how well earnings support the dividend payments. More mature
companies tend to have a higher payout ratio. This ratio is calculated as Dividends per share /
Earnings per share. The Dividend payout ratio for Coca Cola is 48.2% while PepsiCo is 34.8%
The price/earnings ratio (P/E) is the best known of the investment valuation indicators. It is the
measure of the share price relative to the annual net income earned by the firm per share. The P/E ratio
has its imperfections, but it is nevertheless the most widely reported and used valuation by investment
professionals and the investing public. The financial reporting of both companies and investment
research services use a basic earnings per share (EPS) figure divided into the current stock price to
calculate the P/E multiple (i.e. how many times a stock is trading (its price) per each dollar of EPS). A
high PE ratio generally indicates increased demand because investors anticipate earnings growth in the
future. The PE ratio has units of years, which can be interpreted as the number of years of earnings to
pay back purchase price. The price/earnings ratio for Coca Cola is 12.97 while PepsiCo is 16.24.

Cultural Competence And The Media
Cultural competence has been a heavy topic throughout class, the way we view different races,
cultures, and walks of life generates from the way these groups are portrayed in the media. If we never
get a chance to have direct contact with those from other walks of life, we began to group these
different races or cultures together and think everyone is the same way as those we see in movies and
on television. Although, we heavily discussed Latinos who have migrated to the states, we rarely
touched on the third and largest immigrant group to come from Europe. The Italian Americans who
came to the U.S. and made a way for not only themselves, but for their families as well. Their stories
are not as picture perfect as some we see today and if the media has the chance to tell the story, they
all have in some way had a hand in organized crime. Over the years, the media has taken the success
and profits that have come from mob movies and have turned the Italian mob lifestyle into a money
making gimmick. The making of mob movies is not as prominent during today s time in comparison
to previous years, but with the lack of movies has come an increase in television shows that are based
on the true stories of famous mobsters from the past. With shows like Making the Mob: New York
Chicago , Mafia s Greatest Hits , and the fictional show The Sopranos just to name a few, it shows that
a fascination for the mobster lifestyle is still very strong today. Much like the other cultures we

Ivan Boszormenyi Nagy is also a contributor to this therapy (Parrott, III, 2003). This theory is based
on helping maintain a positive family structure and to prevent further emotional damage to the

help families work through a traumatic experience. When you are counseling a person that has been
subjected to a family prone to alcoholism this child tends to show different ways of functioning and
you have to take that into consideration as to how to proceed. Family therapy is often encouraged
when you are trying to repair a family that has gone through a crisis because this can show them that
they can work together as a team to get past the issue. In most other therapies, the counseling session

St. Boniface and Catholicism in Germany
Prior to the work of St. Boniface in central Germany from 716 to 754 A.D., the local Hessian and
Thuringian people worshiped pagan gods and honored living things essential to daily life, such as the
oak trees of the surrounding forests, which provided everything from building materials to nuts for
food. Though Christianity had been introduced to this area, the current practice was actually heresy
because people practiced a blend of Christian and pagan beliefs and rituals. St. Boniface not only
returned Catholicism to Germany, but kept heresy, the Church s main challenge during this time
period, out of central Germany. St. Boniface s goal was to expand the Catholic Church in Germany,
making certain that that the political authorities were firmly committed to Christianity. He went
further, and was not only Pope Gregory s missionary to Germany, but also purified the faith of the
people, removing the culturally ingrained practices of paganism. During this time period, some
Germans didn t fully understand Christianity, and although many in Upper Hesse converted, they still
practiced their old pagan rituals. St. Boniface built schools and seminaries in Upper Hesse. The area
fully converted to Catholicism thanks to the teachings of faithful priests and teachers who were
brought in by Boniface to teach the full truth of the Catholic Church without aspects of the old pagan
beliefs or rituals included. The eighth century Germans used gods to explain the different things in

Independence and in his selfless actions of leaving his family, won the help from the French to assist
America in the fight against England. Although Benjamin Franklin never made it to be president he

Ethical Challenges In Counseling
Apprehensions and Challenges An apprehension I have as I entered into the counseling field is that I
may unconsciously hold back a part of myself in fear of crossing ethical boundaries, by saying or
possibly doing something that may offend my client. In addition being prepared to take action if and
when an ethical situation arises. I also have to be self aware of any biases I may be hindering that
could or would cause ethical challenges or issues. The Challenge I will have is determining how to
deal with an ethical situation when it arises with a client. When a counselor is faced with an ethical
dilemma, it can be the professional counselors biggest ical challenge in determining what the best
course of action to will be (Forester Miller Davis,1996).
I realize that as I evolve in the counseling field my level of comfort and understanding of ethical
behavior and situations will continue to increase.
There is a level of nervousness I have with ethics regarding counseling. I am thinking with the ethical
policies and procedures the solution is to continue to study the ACA code of ethics and be aware of
what I say and how I interact with my future clients. As a counselor and after exhausting all that I

Descriptive Essay About Seeing The World
At the Syracuse Hancock International Airport, I feel like I have the whole world right at my
fingertips. I am surrounded by people who are both so similar yet so different from me. This place is
just the stepping stone to the final destination of happiness. There are people of different race,
identifying with a different religion, with back stories that I will never ever get to hear. Walking into
this airport, I feel as light as a feather. I have so many options of flight within one airport, even though
my plane ticket only lists one final destination. The desire to explore the world is prominent in both
my heart and mind. I want to see the different ranges of people within different areas and see the
beauties of different sections of the world. I clear through TSA and suddenly, the whole world is open
to me; from the simple little Dunkin Donuts greeting me to the different terminals leading to planes
ready to fly thousands of people all over the place, I feel as if I am ready to see everything. The bright
lights leading around the halls and to the gates accompany us, and I just want to get on a plane and
take off. I dream of seeing the world, whether I have other people with me or not, and I dream of the
possibilities that lay before me. Seeing the different people and listening to them talk about their lives
makes me want to learn and see more. In New York, I feel limited. I want to break free. Travelling is

Magic. In this world, friendship, love and loyalty defeats greed, arrogance and evil. In the Hobbit,

Misty Mountains, he has a very uncomfortable thought that he should go back and check on the
dwarves to make sure they get away from the goblins. This is a key event in the novel as it shows
Bilbo s growing loyalty and friendship with the dwarves. Tolkien used Bilbo s internal thinking to
send the message of loyalty and friendship to the reader. The decision to go back to the cave and risk
death by the goblins for the betterment of his friends is an act of courage, strength and friendship.
Certainly, it could be said that the only reason Bilbo went back to the dwarves was because he needs
them and is scared and lost without them. They might argue that Bilbo is not a hero without the
support of the dwarves and the help from Gandalf. While this is a good point and raises some
questions about Bilbo s personality, it fails to account for the ease of Bilbo going back to the shire.
While Bilbo is interested in the prospect of gold and wants to protect the shire, is heart is not as much

Employees form the basis of a successful organisation and the abilities and behavior of employees can
vary the performance of an organisation significantly. Due to the fact that respective jobs require
specific sets of skills or attributes, selections are essential in ensuring that the most suitable candidates
are hired. Selection refers to the process of assessing candidates by various means and making a
choice followed by an offer of employment (Graham, 1998, p.206). It is often thought of as an integral
part of human resource management within an organization, which allows firms to gain a competitive

From an economic perspective, the subsequent costs of occupational fraud include a reduction of stock
prices and loss of employment. These economic costs are exemplified by the 5% of revenue lost per
annum from every average Canadian organisation as a result of employment fraud (Koletar, 2003).
According to Herman, a positive correlation exists between the degree to which a candidate could be
in a position to cause harm to others, colleagues, or the organisation and that of a reference check
(Herman, 1993). For example, public servants and jobs that necessitate the handling of inordinate
amounts of money would warrant a background check, as the risk of financial losses or damage to
government organization reputations are higher.
Interviews remain a widely used selection technique in contemporary industries despite the relative
unreliability of this method. Dipboye reports that approximately 70% of organizations in the United
States utilize interviews as the main selection strategy in both promotion and recruitment ( Dipboye,
1992). A selection interview can be broadly delineated as a dialogue initiated by one or persons to
gather information and evaluate the qualifications of an applicant for employment (Dipboye, 1992).

The Basic Concepts Of Urls And Internet Cookies Essay
In this current internet savvy generation, URL is a fairly common abbreviation which is widely used
as a word in itself, without much thought for what it actually stands for or what it is comprised of. In
this paper, the basic concepts of URLs and internet Cookies are discussed with focus on its importance
in Analytics point of view.
URL
URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator, and is used to specify addresses on the World Wide Web.
In simple terms, an URL is the fundamental network identification for any resource connected to the
web (e.g., hypertext pages, images, and sound files) (1).
URLs have the following format:
Protocol://hostname/other_information
For example, the URL for Saint Joseph s University s home page is: https://www.sju.edu The protocol
specifies how information from the link is transferred. The protocol used for web resources is Hyper
Text Transfer Protocol (HTTP). Other protocols compatible with most web browsers include HTTPS,
FTP, telnet, newsgroups, and Gopher. The protocol is followed by a colon, two slashes, and then the
domain name. The domain name is the computer on which the resource is located. Links to particular
files or subdirectories may be further specified after the domain name. Directory names are separated
by single forward slashes. For example, in the following URL https://www.sju.edu/majors programs
https, is the protocol; www.sju.edu, is the domain name and majors programs is the directory name.

The Principles Of The Association Of Student Athletes
The NAIA Governance Structure chart has 5 hierarchy that keeps the sports organization in order. It
begins with the Council of Faculty Athletics Representatives the highest beings with the Registrars

Faculty Athletics Representatives must consist of a total of 14 faculty athletic representatives chosen
from various powers to have a balance (NAIA.org, 2015). I believe the Association of Student
Athletes is very influential, because students sometimes accept guidance and advice from their peers a
little easier than from a higher ranking person who may not be able to relate to them on some of the

Period 4 Fahrenheit 451 Analysis
Fahrenheit 451 was written by Ray Bradbury. This futuristic dystopia is about a community of people
that relies tv and electronics. The novel demonstrates suppression of the mind where the citizens don t

reason the book is called Fahrenheit 451, because 451 degrees was the temperature at which the books

Persuasive Speech On You Are Alone

Lewis Cass And Andrew Jackson s The Cherokee Removal Act
The Cherokee Removal Act is believed to have been causation of prolonged engagement between the
settlers of Georgia, Alabama, and parts of North and South Carolina up until 1836, when Andrew
Jackson officially signed it into law. Andrew Jackson had a lot to say about the need for removal of
natives and two main reasons why it has been such a lengthy procedure. Another man who also had
something to say about the matter at hand was Lewis Cass who was Governor of the Michigan
Territory from 1816 1831. He was well known as one of the most experienced, and highly thoughtful
experts in the country on United States Indian policy and the histories and cultures of the tribes. (114)
Cass, unlike President Jackson, believed Indians could survive, ... Show more content on

Andrew Jackson in his state of the union address of 1830 had the pleasure to announce his long fought
battle in favor of removal had began coming to existence. Humanity and Philanthropy were two of his
main points for why this has been such a strenuous task put upon the nation by the natives. Humanity
has often wept over the fate of the aborigines of this country, and philanthropy has been long busily
employed in devising means to advert it. (127) Jacksonbrings up the point regarding Americans
moving west and humanity not weeping at the fact that they leave but are rather joyful due to the
freedoms of body and mind (128) America grants. Jackson even goes far as asking the American
public How many thousands of our own people would gladly embrace removing to the west on such
conditions? (128) Jackson also discussed the removal procedure and about how the government can be
fair and liberal if they agreed to the laws of the states from which they are present or how the
government can be harsh if the alternative for removal isn t accepted by the natives. Both Andrew
Jackson and Cass have similar arguments relating to Philanthropy between Civilized people and the
Indians believing it has failed but what about the will of Young Wolf? It seems from reading that will
that Young Wolf had a fair knowledge of Civilized culture after death and how a legal contract
between property, money and even slaves was

The Benefits Of Increasing NASA
Space is a $300 billion industry worldwide, NASA is a tiny percent of that. But that little bit is what
inspires dreams. Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. NASA or The National Aeronautics and Space
Administration is one of the more popular government funded programs. NASA has inspired whole
generation to believe that they can do anything and continue to show kids that anything is possible.
NASA currently has a budget of 19.3 billion dollars and coming 2017 it will be reduced to 19 billion
dollars. NASA s budget is usually slashed every few years because the government believes it is better
spent elsewhere. I believe that NASA s budget should be increased and here are three reasons why.

the more they can learn about outer space. NASA s education Program has three main goals:
Strengthening NASA and the Nation s workforce, Attracting and retaining students in science,
technology, engineering and mathematics, or STEM, disciplines, and Engaging Americans in NASA s

The Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA)
Situation A.
The Family Medical Leave Act, deals with the laws regarding eligible employees taking off up to
twelve weeks of unpaid leave for their child s birth, adopting a child, taking care of an ill family
member, or if they themselves have a serious health condition (Vikesland, 2006). In order to be
considered an eligible employee, you must work for a company that employs at least fifty people,
have worked there for a year and have worked a minimum of 1,250 hours in that year. The employee
also has the right to return to the same or equivalent position, pay, and benefits at the conclusion of
their leave (Vikesland, 2006). The Family Medical Leave Act is not just to protect employees and look
after their interests, but it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The eligible employees are allowed to have up to twelve weeks of leave, but it is unpaid. However, if
the employee has sick time, or vacation leave they have not used then that pay could be applied to
their FMLA time off. So, if employee A has stored paid sick, or vacation time, then the manager is
required to pay him for the time that he has been gone. If employee A did not have any paid leave to
take, then it is considered normal FMLA leave an the manager is not required to pay the employee for
any time while gone. So, looking at the situation there has not been a violation of the FMLA.
Situation B.
The Age Discrimination in Employment Act governs discrimination in the work place for people age
forty and older. Under the ADEA, it is unlawful to discriminate against a person because of his/her age
with respect to any term, condition, or privilege of employment, including hiring, firing, promotion,
layoff, compensation, benefits, job assignments, and training (EEOC, 2008). Because of companies
wanting employees that were going to have longevity from their starting point, or wanting to move the
younger people up the corporate ladder, something had to be done to protect the rights of the older
generation. The ADEA protects those rights; it forces employers to give benefits to employees over
forty, it doesn t allow companies to advertise for jobs specifying an age, or age limit, and it does not
allow a company to

Overview Of Embryonic Stem Cells
Stem cells play a fundamental role during all stages of development and have the potential to study
and treat disease (Spitalieri et al., 2016). Embryonic stem cells (ESC) are pluripotent cells that emerge
from the inner cell mass of the blastocyst and can give rise to various cell types (Liang and Zhang,
2013). Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) have similar characteristics but are derived from adult
differentiated somatic tissue (Liang and Zhang, 2013). This review will briefly compare ESC and
iPSC in the context of cell therapy and disease modeling.
The human ESCs have long been considered the gold standard for modeling disease and have served
as the basis for developing cell therapies (Spitalieri et al., 2016). However, the use of ... Show more

That is, ESC line are often exposed to fetal bovine serum or other animal based media for culturing
purposes (Desai et al., 2015). This increases the likelihood of activating the immune response and
tissue rejection. It is, therefore, necessary for some receipts of ESC to take immunosuppressants and
mitigate the immune response (Odorico et al., 2001). In recent years, researchers have developed ESC
parthenogenetic lines that could provide HLA histocompatibility for the majority of a given population
(Revazova et al., 2008). Moreover, ESC lines are currently being cultivated in systems that are free of
animal contamination (Fu et al., 2010). Such improvements could advance the clinical application of
hESC for the treatment of disease.
Furthermore, iPSCs are in theory more ideal than ESCs for the modeling of disease due to two
reasons. First, iPSC can capture the genotype of a particular individual and reproduce the severity of a
disease (Acab and Muotri, 2015) Second, iPSC can take into account variations within different ethnic
groups (Merkle and Eggan, 2013). This is not easily achieved in human ESC lines, which have thus
far had limited success in modeling complex disease. In contrast, iPSCs can more closely recapitulate
the genetic hallmarks of a disease (Acab and Muotri, 2015). This may prove beneficial for toxicity
testing and development of new drugs for the treatment of disease (Pappas and Yang, 2008).
Nonetheless, iPSCs suffer from

Economics Unit 2: How Markets Work Investigating Price Changes Portfolio Project Part 1: Chapter 6
Wall Street Journal Questions 1) Why are sports teams considering switching to a variable pricing
strategy for tickets? Sports teams are switching to a variable pricing strategy for tickets so that they
can get a higher profit on games with record attendance numbers. They feel the need to do so because
the marginal costs, such as construction payment and players salaries, did not equal to the marginal
revenue, since attendance was severely dropping. To pay for the marginal cost, the sports team needed
to capitalize on things that they were sure of, like increasing attendances to games between major
sporting rivals. 2) What would happen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

KEYWORDS=price+increase Increase in price: The recent deflation in Japan s economy has brought
paper used for commercial products and home offices to skyrocketing prices. In just the past five
months, paper has totaled an increase of 25% of its original price value. Paper producing companies
are setting high prices because the value of the yen has dropped and the import costs have risen. Since
there are few substitutions for paper and many people need them for daily uses, the demand would be
inelastic to the price increase. Companies could therefore produce more paper and gain a higher profit
than before. Although demand would theoretically be higher, the economy would not improve much if
the companies are not willing to raise their employee s wages. Income plays a huge role in demand,

people would find or develop a substitute for paper, and the demand and quantity supplied would

Design Of An Optimized Compressive Sensing
Abstract This paper presents the design of an optimized Compressive Sensing (CS) based image
compression technique for data transmission over mobile wireless noisy channel. The proposed
technique is more robust to channel noise. It uses individual measurement driven coding scheme,
which facilitates simpler encoder design. The shift of computational burden from encoder to decoder
is more suitable for mobile devices applications where computational power and battery life are
limited. This paper also presents a novel quantizer which allows the encoder to dynamically adapt to
the channel conditions and provide optimum performance.
Keywords compressive sensing; coding with feedback; image transmission; quantization
I. INTRODUCTION
Wireless spectrum is becoming increasingly scarce as more and more mobile devices are being used
with new innovations to support multimedia applications. The evolution of new applications is further
eroding the ability to make spectrum available to ever increasing mobile users [1]. The design of
mobile devices for inclusion of new and evolving multimedia applications faces big challenges due to:
a) limited power supply from battery; b) wireless transmission impairments for sustained video
transmissions; and c) limited CPU capability in each device. Thus data compression for wireless
networks is becoming more and more important. This research takes image as a sample multimedia
data type to explore the necessary improvement. Traditional image

Petristan Essay ARH305 Archaeological Interpretation Petristan: The Seriation of Pottery Types The state of Petristan is a vast landmass acknowledged as the subcontinent of India, spreading across the watershed of Paratha Valley in the West and Korma River in the East, with the early civilization which ranged from 2700 to 1700 B.C. Recent discoveries have asserted the notion that the early civilization of Paratha Valley has greatly influenced the formation of the Petristan state. Consequently, The Petristan State Archaeological Survey has selected 5000 sherds from eighteen probable sites by random sampling techniques in effort to investigate the proposed postulation. • 4. Choosing the Right Structure for a New Business Choosing the Right Structure for a New Business 1. Introduction A new idea for a business is the setting up of a mobile photographic studio. There are many individuals who want family portraits, or photos for identification or other reasons, who do not have time to go to a professional photographer. There are already a number of services where photographers will set up in a shopping centre to take family portraits of photos of children, or go to schools and take children s photographs to sell to parents. The new idea takes this a stage further, allowing a family to invite a photographer into there home for a set period of time, for a set price which will include a specific number of photographs. The idea of the convenience, as well as high quality of service, will create differentiation, with the aim of gaining business by recommendation. The business will be set up ion an areas where there are is a large population of middle and upper class families, and where a similar service is not easily identifiable. In order to set up the business it is necessary to consider the practical implications associated with the different business structures which may be used to establish the firm. 2. Forms of Business Organization When setting up a business, the idea is only a part of the process. It is also necessary to consider the way in which the business itself will be set up in order to function. There are three basic structure which may be used; sole proprietor, partnership ... • 5. Banning Books Should Be Banned Throughout history many books have been banned, for many reasons. I believe that banning books is a dangerous power to give the government or people in authority. Banning book is not only morally unjust but also I believe that some of the reasons are also illegal. I will explain my opinion in the following. Banning books can be a dangerous power because banning restricts authors. Today, people are praised for individuality and uniqueness, and banning books contradicts that. Many authors write about things that have happened in their lives or they express their way of living and banning a book that doesn t fit in with what societies way of life is, is wrong. Society may believe in one thing but not all people do. I also believe that banning books is a form of bullying. Banning is like telling the author, you don t fit in with everyone else so you can t have books published. I guess, a authors are supposed to put their beliefs on the back burner in order to make money from published books. In history some authors were exiled because they wrote about social corruption. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... University Galleries On September 18,2017 I visited the University Galleries located at Texas State University had an amazing piece of art on display called The Last Supper: 700 Plates Illustrating Final Meals of U.S. Death Row Inmates created by Julie Green. Once entering the exhibit the viewers attention focuses on the deep black letters painted onto the wall, revealing the statistics of the death penalty in the United States. Moving throughout the room the inmates last meals were painted onto ceramic plates varying in size and style. Julie Green displayed the ceramic plates in a thick horizontal line on all four walls of the exhibit giving the viewers an understanding for each meal. Specifically on plate 66 the artist caught my attention with the color, texture, and lines illustrated throughout the ceramic plate. • 9. Floor Mill Research Paper A small home can either feel cramped or cozy. Unfortunately, if you are like most people you probably don t like the feeling of being crammed into a room. Luckily, you can trick your eye into believing your space is much larger by using the right floor tile. Incredibly easy and very effective, switching up your floor tile is a great way to revamp a small space. So how you can use floor tile to make your space appear larger? Here are three basic tips: 1. Opt For Larger Tiles Perhaps the easiest way to make a small space appear larger is to use larger floor tiles. Now this might sound counterproductive, but it is actually very effective. Larger floor tiles are often less busy, which automatically opens up the space. In addition, larger floor tiles require less grout. Less grout means there is less contrast to break up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Choose The Correct Color Another helpful tip is to choose the correct color for your floor tile. As you might expect, lighter colors will open up the space better. This is because light and neutral colors are less busy. Lighter colors also reflect light better, which automatically makes a space appear bigger. If you don t want your flooring to be a single boring color, don t worry. You can always add accent tiles in a fun or bright color to liven up the space. Choosing a color for your tile might seem difficult, but it doesn t have to be. Visit a local tile store and select some samples that you like. Take the samples home and see how they look in the space. Be sure to examine the tiles at varying times, as natural light can change how they look. Once you find a color and style you look, you ll be good to go. 3. Vary Tile Shape Finally, don t feel like you need to stick to a single tile shape. Varying the shape of the tiles can be very helpful in making your space appear larger. Subtle changes in texture or shape will provide some variety to the eye and make the space appear bigger. It s another simple tip, but again it is quite ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Native American effect It is clear that throughout many years there has been an exemption of treatment when talking about the Native Americans in the United States. Supposedly every individual is endowed with the right of freedom, equality, and of seeking for happiness, but Native Americans were treated irrationally. From the discovery of America, to the founding fathers and settlers, the treatment and attitude towards Native Americans has been unsettling at best. The colonial policies toward the Native Americans affected the Indians in ways that changed their relationship between their tribes and the new nation. Roger Williams was an American Protestant theologian, and the first American proponent of religious freedom and the separation of church and state. He was a student of Native American languages and an advocate for fair dealings with Native Americans. Having learned their language and customs, Williams gave up the idea of being a missionary and never baptized a single Indian. Having established a rapport with and understanding off the Native Americans, Williams became a keen and sympathetic observer of the native people. He called on Puritans to deal fairly with the Native Americans. Williams nevertheless saw that the American Indians were no better or worse that the rogues who dealt with them, and that in fact they possessed a marked degree of civility (Williams The Norton Anthology American Literature p.174). During the late years of the 17th century, the Native Americans and Puritan settlers had struggled to get along. Due to their clashing views on political and cultural issues, neither faction regarded the other as a respectable group. Mather proves a negative relationship between the natives and the settlers by displaying the barbarous behavior or violent actions of those whom they consider to be culpable of wickedness. • 11. The Role of Women in Homer’s Iliad Essay The Role of Women in Homer s Iliad Homer s Iliad is undoubtedly focused on its male characters: Achilles, primarily, but also Hector and Agamemnon. Nevertheless, it seems that the most crucial characters in the epic are female. Homer uses the characters of Thetis, Andromache, and Helen as a basis for comparison to the male characters. Homer wants his audience to see and understand the folly of his male characters in choosing war over peace, aggression over kindness, and honor over family. While the behavior of these characters clearly speaks for itself, the contrasting attitudes and behaviors of the female characters proffer an alternative; in comparison, the reader can hardly fail to concur with Homer s message that war, aggression, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thetis is always motivated by her love and pity for her son, two emotions he seems unable to feel himself. As a loving mother, she is concerned for her son and his future and so ensures that he is aware of his options. Out of respect for him, she allows Achilles to make his own decision and goes as far as to support him fully, although the attentive reader can sense that doing so is immensely painful for her. Therefore, although it superficially seems that Thetis supports war and aggression, her true motives are far more admirable. Unlike Thetis, Andromache s values are clear. On the rampart in book six, she makes an impassioned plea to Hector for reason and peace. Pity me, please! she says, Take your stand on the rampart here, before you orphan your son and make your wife a widow. (ll. 230 231) When her fears are realized and Hector is struck down by Achilles, she laments, Hector, what help are you to [Astyanax], now you are dead? (l. 571) This single statement lays bare the true folly of pride: How can one justify the preservation of honor at the cost of the destruction of all that one fought for in the first place? Finally, there is great irony in the lamentations of both Helen and Briseis for Hector and Patroclus respectively. Helen proclaims her respect for Hector s kindness: Hector, you d win them to my side . . . you with your gentle temper, all your gentle ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. The Film Analysis Of Alfred Hitchcock s Psycho Alfred Hitchcock is widely considered one of the most essential directors of all time and has undeniably revolutionized the cinematic art form and horror genre movement. A key ingredient to his productions is the psychoanalysis of the movie s villains and the deceivery at comes with deep psychosis. These elements are what have taken Hitchcock from a good director to a legend. Hitchcock layers his movies in ways in which every time one watches his films they can pick up on a new detail that deepens the meaning and effects of the storyline. This is exactly what he does in his 1960 film, Psycho. By layering Freudian psychoanalysis, creating a twist ending and suspense, and giving the villain of the story, Norman Bates, a deeply rich background story, Hitchcock creates phenomenon in the audience arguably scarier, then Norman s murders. Through this use the psychoanalysis and backstory, the audience also feels sympathy for Norman. This duality is what makes Hitchcock a wonderful artist and Psycho, a piece of art. The first way in which Hitchcock gets his audience to feel sorry for Norman is his first conversation with Marion Crane. When the audience first sees Norman greeting Marion they see a very fresh faced boy who looks very sheltered and innocent. This is one of Hitchcock s first uses the Freudian analysis. My eyes lit up and the insides of my body start tingling. My heart starts beating faster than it already was. I try my best to put on a soft smile even though I was feeling stressed. Nervously, I responded, I feel okay. In roughly two minutes, it was going to be my turn to swim the most important event of my high school swim career, the infamous 100 meters Breaststroke I ve been swimming ever since I was six years old; only this time would be my last chance to make a State cut in the event. These next two minutes felt like a life or death situation. So many things were going through my mind, I quickly gathered my nerves and reminded myself that this was it. Another topic that caught my attention was of bad faith. It was made clear today that this concept is basically restricting one s choices due to pressure from external sources like society, family, etc. Basically, the statement of, I have no choice, this is the only one that I have. Cultural Competence And The Media Cultural competence has been a heavy topic throughout class, the way we view different races, cultures, and walks of life generates from the way these groups are portrayed in the media. If we never get a chance to have direct contact with those from other walks of life, we began to group these different races or cultures together and think everyone is the same way as those we see in movies and on television. The Italian Americans who came to the U.S. and made a way for not only themselves, but for their families as well. Their stories are not as picture perfect as some we see today and if the media has the chance to tell the story, they all have in some way had a hand in organized crime. Over the years, the media has taken the success and profits that have come from mob movies and have turned the Italian mob lifestyle into a money making gimmick. The making of mob movies is not as prominent during today s time in comparison to previous years, but with the lack of movies has come an increase in television shows that are based on the true stories of famous mobsters from the past. St. Boniface and Catholicism in Germany Prior to the work of St. Boniface in central Germany from 716 to 754 A.D., the local Hessian and Thuringian people worshiped pagan gods and honored living things essential to daily life, such as the oak trees of the surrounding forests, which provided everything from building materials to nuts for food. Though Christianity had been introduced to this area, the current practice was actually heresy because people practiced a blend of Christian and pagan beliefs and rituals. St. Boniface not only returned Catholicism to Germany, but kept heresy, the Church s main challenge during this time period, out of central Germany. St. Boniface s goal was to expand the Catholic Church in Germany, making certain that that the political authorities were firmly committed to Christianity. • 37. Persuasive Speech On You Are Alone You are alone in a room. You have 2 minutes till your death. You have a phone. Do you make a call? Who do you call? Growing up I was led to believe that when you die it will be of old age, in a hospital bed with loved ones surrounding you. You are able to say goodbye to those you care for and tell them what you have been waiting and wanting to say. Even if they aren t there it is important to let them know everything and tell them what they mean to you. And no, this isn t just so you feel better about yourself it is one of you last acts on this earth, your last chance to say what needs to be said to those that matter to you. It isn t something that is normally talked about but it needs to be, it is something that will happen to just about everyone and you need to be prepared. Guaranteed, this is the hardest thing you will EVER have to do. You can t avoid it, it is something you will have to do. Many people believe that you should not make this contact to your family, you should just leave them alone. I think different. This is the last time they will ever hear your voice or read your message. This small act reflects who you are and is a part of you that will stay with those people forever. For those people that were tragically lost in the twin towers attacks, this a decision they were faced with. Many of their families had to answer or listen to these calls that their loved ones left that they are now so thank full of as all I needed was that message, and I think that he ... This pride existed in the land of the Enchanted Forest, though far away from many of the castles, as its own kingdom of shape shifters, who preferred their animal form, though when visited by humans they would shift into a human form. The Pride land extended far along the land, and where the sun set, that was where the forest began. As a young boy he liked to explore, he didn t do what he was told by his father, and as a result, Simba believes his father died trying to save him from a stampede of wildebeests, as he wasn t supposed to be in the gorge, and his father saved him, then seeming to fall to his death because of Simba (though as it turns out his uncle ... • 39. Abstinence In Adolescents The intervention teaches that abstinence is the most effective way to prevent STDs, but it emphasizes that if adolescents do have sex they should use condoms. It addresses attitudes toward condom use, skill and self efficacy in using condoms, beliefs about negative consequences of condoms for sexual enjoyment, and skill and self efficacy in negotiating condom use. It includes themes that encourage adolescents to be proud of themselves, their family, and their community; to behave responsibly for the sake of themselves, their family, and their community; and to consider their goals for the future and how unhealthful behavior might hinder their efforts to achieve those goals (Jemmott, John B., III, Jemmott, Loretta S., Fong, Geoffrey T., Morales, ... Adolescents not only need to learn the importance of practicing safe sex, but also how to be confident. Teaching of this subject could be improved, as mentioned earlier, by beginning to teach STD prevention at an earlier age. Young people are beginning to have sex and younger ages and healthy habits are easier to establish than changing bad habits as stated in the article**. The teaching will be adjusted based on what the individual members of the group want and need to learn. Providing multiple methods of teaching strategies will result in effective leaning. We can immediately evaluate if they audience has learned the material taught during the session and if they can demonstrate skill shown, but only time and follow up evaluations will show if the group practices STD prevention in the ... • 40. Lewis Cass And Andrew Jackson s The Cherokee Removal Act The Cherokee Removal Act is believed to have been causation of prolonged engagement between the settlers of Georgia, Alabama, and parts of North and South Carolina up until 1836, when Andrew Jackson officially signed it into law. Andrew Jackson had a lot to say about the need for removal of natives and two main reasons why it has been such a lengthy procedure. Another man who also had something to say about the matter at hand was Lewis Cass who was Governor of the Michigan Territory from 1816 1831. He was well known as one of the most experienced, and highly thoughtful experts in the country on United States Indian policy and the histories and cultures of the tribes. Andrew Jackson in his state of the union address of 1830 had the pleasure to announce his long fought battle in favor of removal had began coming to existence. Humanity and Philanthropy were two of his main points for why this has been such a strenuous task put upon the nation by the natives. Humanity has often wept over the fate of the aborigines of this country, and philanthropy has been long busily employed in devising means to advert it. (127) Jacksonbrings up the point regarding Americans moving west and humanity not weeping at the fact that they leave but are rather joyful due to the freedoms of body and mind (128) America grants. Jackson even goes far as asking the American public How many thousands of our own people would gladly embrace removing to the west on such conditions? (128) Jackson also discussed the removal procedure and about how the government can be fair and liberal if they agreed to the laws of the states from which they are present or how the government can be harsh if the alternative for removal isn t accepted by the natives. Both Andrew Jackson and Cass have similar arguments relating to Philanthropy between Civilized people and the Indians believing it has failed but what about the will of Young Wolf? The Family Medical Leave Act, deals with the laws regarding eligible employees taking off up to twelve weeks of unpaid leave for their child s birth, adopting a child, taking care of an ill family member, or if they themselves have a serious health condition (Vikesland, 2006). In order to be considered an eligible employee, you must work for a company that employs at least fifty people, have worked there for a year and have worked a minimum of 1,250 hours in that year. The eligible employees are allowed to have up to twelve weeks of leave, but it is unpaid. However, if the employee has sick time, or vacation leave they have not used then that pay could be applied to their FMLA time off. So, if employee A has stored paid sick, or vacation time, then the manager is required to pay him for the time that he has been gone. If employee A did not have any paid leave to take, then it is considered normal FMLA leave an the manager is not required to pay the employee for any time while gone. So, looking at the situation there has not been a violation of the FMLA. Situation B. The Age Discrimination in Employment Act governs discrimination in the work place for people age forty and older. Under the ADEA, it is unlawful to discriminate against a person because of his/her age with respect to any term, condition, or privilege of employment, including hiring, firing, promotion, layoff, compensation, benefits, job assignments, and training (EEOC, 2008). Because of companies wanting employees that were going to have longevity from their starting point, or wanting to move the younger people up the corporate ladder, something had to be done to protect the rights of the older generation. The ADEA protects those rights; it forces employers to give benefits to employees over forty, it doesn t allow companies to advertise for jobs specifying an age, or age limit, and it does not allow a company to ... • 43. Overview Of Embryonic Stem Cells Stem cells play a fundamental role during all stages of development and have the potential to study and treat disease (Spitalieri et al., 2016). Embryonic stem cells (ESC) are pluripotent cells that emerge from the inner cell mass of the blastocyst and can give rise to various cell types (Liang and Zhang, 2013). Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) have similar characteristics but are derived from adult differentiated somatic tissue (Liang and Zhang, 2013). This review will briefly compare ESC and iPSC in the context of cell therapy and disease modeling. The human ESCs have long been considered the gold standard for modeling disease and have served as the basis for developing cell therapies (Spitalieri et al., 2016). However, the use of ... This increases the likelihood of activating the immune response and tissue rejection. It is, therefore, necessary for some receipts of ESC to take immunosuppressants and mitigate the immune response (Odorico et al., 2001). In recent years, researchers have developed ESC parthenogenetic lines that could provide HLA histocompatibility for the majority of a given population (Revazova et al., 2008). Moreover, ESC lines are currently being cultivated in systems that are free of animal contamination (Fu et al., 2010). Such improvements could advance the clinical application of hESC for the treatment of disease. Furthermore, iPSCs are in theory more ideal than ESCs for the modeling of disease due to two reasons. First, iPSC can capture the genotype of a particular individual and reproduce the severity of a disease (Acab and Muotri, 2015) Second, iPSC can take into account variations within different ethnic groups (Merkle and Eggan, 2013). This is not easily achieved in human ESC lines, which have thus far had limited success in modeling complex disease. In contrast, iPSCs can more closely recapitulate the genetic hallmarks of a disease (Acab and Muotri, 2015). This may prove beneficial for toxicity testing and development of new drugs for the treatment of disease (Pappas and Yang, 2008). Nonetheless, iPSCs suffer from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Supply and Demand Essays Economics Unit 2: How Markets Work Investigating Price Changes Portfolio Project Part 1: Chapter 6 Wall Street Journal Questions 1) Why are sports teams considering switching to a variable pricing strategy for tickets? Sports teams are switching to a variable pricing strategy for tickets so that they can get a higher profit on games with record attendance numbers. They feel the need to do so because the marginal costs, such as construction payment and players salaries, did not equal to the marginal revenue, since attendance was severely dropping. To pay for the marginal cost, the sports team needed to capitalize on things that they were sure of, like increasing attendances to games between major sporting rivals. 2) What would happen ... In just the past five months, paper has totaled an increase of 25% of its original price value. Paper producing companies are setting high prices because the value of the yen has dropped and the import costs have risen. Since there are few substitutions for paper and many people need them for daily uses, the demand would be inelastic to the price increase. Companies could therefore produce more paper and gain a higher profit than before. Although demand would theoretically be higher, the economy would not improve much if the companies are not willing to raise their employee s wages. Income plays a huge role in demand, for few people, if any, would buy products that they could not afford. • 46. Design Of An Optimized Compressive Sensing Abstract This paper presents the design of an optimized Compressive Sensing (CS) based image compression technique for data transmission over mobile wireless noisy channel. The proposed technique is more robust to channel noise. It uses individual measurement driven coding scheme, which facilitates simpler encoder design. The shift of computational burden from encoder to decoder is more suitable for mobile devices applications where computational power and battery life are limited. This paper also presents a novel quantizer which allows the encoder to dynamically adapt to the channel conditions and provide optimum performance. Keywords compressive sensing; coding with feedback; image transmission; quantization I. INTRODUCTION Wireless spectrum is becoming increasingly scarce as more and more mobile devices are being used with new innovations to support multimedia applications. The evolution of new applications is further eroding the ability to make spectrum available to ever increasing mobile users [1]. The design of mobile devices for inclusion of new and evolving multimedia applications faces big challenges due to: a) limited power supply from battery; b) wireless transmission impairments for sustained video transmissions; and c) limited CPU capability in each device. Thus data compression for wireless networks is becoming more and more important. This research takes image as a sample multimedia data type to explore the necessary improvement. Traditional image ...
