The Digital Of Digital Image
There has been an explosive growth in use of internet and World Wide Web and also in multimedia
technology and it s applications recently. This has facilitated the distribution of the digital contents
over the internet. Digital multimedia works (video, audio and images) become available for
retransmission, reproduction, and publishing over the Internet. A large amount of digital data is
duplicated and distributed without the owner s consent. This arises a real need for protection against
unauthorized copy and distribution. Hence it became necessary to build some secure techniques for
legal distribution of these digital contents. Digital Watermarking has proved to be a good solution to
tackle these problems. It discourages the copyright violation and help to determine the authenticity
and ownership of the data.
A Digital image watermarking systems have been proposed as an efficient means for copyright
protection authentication of digital image content against unintended manipulation (spatial chromatic).
Watermarking techniques tries to hide a message related to the actual content of the digital signal,
watermarking is used for providing a kind of security for various type of data (it may be image, audio,
video, etc). Digital watermarking generally falls into the visible watermarking technology and hidden
watermarking technology visible and invisible watermarks both serve to deter theft but they do so in
very different ways.
Watermarking is identified as a major technology

Band Camp Narrative
The piercing ring of alarm went off for the last time, waking everyone up an hour later than usual.
Light quickly streamed into the jet black cabin when our chaperone turned on the small cabin s only
lamp, Wake up girls! It s the last day of band camp! All the freshmen girls groaned and slowly crawled
out of bed. Quietly, everyone started getting their stuff together, so they could easily leave after the
performance. No one had the energy to talk in the morning because we were all worn out from the
work we did the day before. Everyday we did 7 hours of marching, and 3 hours of music practice.
Yesterday was the hardest we ever worked because we had to be ready for the performance.
Finally, it was 8 o clock and we all started to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was doing really well until suddenly I felt something crawling on my leg as I was standing like a
rock. Slowly I looked down, trying not to move my head and saw three skinny yellow bees crawling
around on my leg. My heart started racing, I didn t want to get stung for the 5th time this week,
especially by three of them. This motivated me not to move even more. Luckily, pre game started and
the bees flew away. We began to march and I started shaking from a mix of excitement and
nervousness. This is what we were working for non stop for the past week. It was finally time for all
our hard work to pay off. That excitement ended fairly quickly when we started playing the star
spangled banner, and my arms felt like giving up, but I knew I couldn t stop. As pre game was coming
to an end all I could think about was how thirsty I was, and that my arms were dead. I tried to focus on
my marching to ignore the heat and pain the best I could. After what felt like 10 minutes, the band was
able to take a quick break as our band director explained the show to the parents. This was the first
drink break this practice, so I was thankful to finally quench my thirst. The band all stumbled over to
the Gatorade table. Straightaway Mia and I put our baritones on the ground, and our arms thanked us.
Sweat was dripping down all of our faces and we hadn t even marched the show

Vodka Informative Speech
All About Vodka:
Vodka is a master of disguise and that s intentional. There are no universal rules to producing vodka,
but the final product is supposed to be odorless, colorless and tasteless. Distillers like to leave their
mark, though, so they tend to leave in at least some flavor so you know you re drinking their vodka.
That might make it a little less interesting to drink straight (though it can certainly still be enjoyed this
way), but vodka is perfect for mixing.
It s made from fermented grains or potatoes, though you ll also find vodka that comes from sugar
alcohols or various fruits. Some of the best known vodka producers hail from Russia, Belarus,
Lithuania, Latvia and Poland, though it s made all over the world including in ... Show more content

That s why many producers cut it with distilled water. In America, Everclear offers the highest alcohol
by volume at 95 percent, while a few Polish vodkas contain 98 percent alcohol by volume.
Flavored Vodka:
Key to vodka s explosion in America was the introduction of flavored vodka. Well, that and an
enormous marketing push by Smirnoff in the 50s and 60s. Many vodka brands began adding flavor to
the alcohol to make it more appealing, and today you can find almost any infusion you could dream
of.
Try Smirnoff Raspberry, Svedka Mango Pineapple, and CIROC Apple Vodka to dip your proverbial
toes into the flavored vodka waters. Flavors add drinkability when you shoot vodka straight and can
enhance cocktails if you prefer adding mixers to your beverage.
How to Drink It:
Vodka is a blank slate, so use your imagination. Screwdrivers, martinis, bloody marys and greyhounds
are just some of the classic cocktails. There s also the ubiquitous vodka and soda, which might help
you feel more sophisticated. However, if you find yourself in possession of a particularly nice bottle,
feel free to drink it neat, preferably in a cut crystal

Importance Of Fearlessness
The Fearless Girl, a bronze statue of a small Latina girl depicted as staring down a charging bull, also
known as the iconic Wall Street Bull. The small girl faces the bull with unwavering defiance. Her eyes
shine with determination, almost as if she were alive. As an individual stares upon the little girl facing
such a large, dangerous specimen the individual knows that she does not have the fear that would
strike most people when they look upon the charging beast. Fearlessness is something this little girl
shows with ease. Fearlessness, a word some people describe as having the lack of fear, or showing no

hurt her, yet she s still standing up for what she believes in. Helga Weiss lived through the holocaust.
She starved and witnessed horror beyond belief but her fearlessness helped her stay alive. Nonfiction
literature is used by a myriad of authors to influence the readers into believing that through

North America, 1957, a group of nine, colored teenage boys and girls were admitted into the all white

children endured inside the walls of Central High. While at school Melba had become friends with one

The Heart to Lion is different than the other pieces that have been mentioned. It has a free forming
flow, most of the statue is composed of a long wire and large pieces. The space is very open and free,
it is not enclosed or tight which is normally a positive space, with that being said from all the open
space that the Heart to Lion contains it is in a negative space.Similar to the other pieces this statue has
lines and shapes. The shapes are free forming shapes, they are not dominant shapes as a circle, square
or triangle would be. The shapes on the Heart to Lion are shaped with curved lines to also show that
the shapes are free forming. The lines are seen everywhere, there are curved and bold lines, the bold
lines are very obvious since it is of a darker granted shade than the rest. The line starts off being a
straight bold line, but then seems to end up being curved into the free forming shapes. The texture of
this is rough all around, the only smooth section that is noticeable on the statue could be the flat part
of the shapes or the bold line as well. However, from the overall, sight of the piece it seems to be
rough, but not too rough. The color of this statue is different than the others mention, the color of it is a
grayish tin color. The color is well known as a mixture of black and white usually there meanings
behind the those two colors which are death and peace. Since it is heart it shows the meaning of why
the artist chose that particular color. Cumul I is a piece made by Louise Bourgeois it has some
similarities and differences to the Heart to Lion. Cumul I is a piece that is quite different than the other
sculptures. It is strongly referred to human figures once viewing the sculpture. However, it does have
a volume with an enclosed space so the space is positive, and the space around it is negative. It has

Wilfred Owen s Dulce Et Decorum Est, written in 1918 during WWI, and Alfred Tennyson s The
Charge of the Light Brigade, written in 1854 during the Battle of Balaclava both analyze the effects of
war through their elements and tone words. However, the meanings of the poems differ immensely. In
Dulce Et Decorum Est the writer portrays a soldier being scarred for life as a result of viewing a
fellow comrade being choked to death on poison gas. In contrast, the author of The Charge of the
Light Brigade instead chooses to admire the bravery and courage of the Light Brigade, even though
they knew they might not return from battle. There are many elements utilized to portray the tones in
these two works, however, the devices are applied

Compare And Contrast Beowulf
Beowulf is an ancient epic telling of a hero named Beowulf and his quests throughout his life. Back in
Anglo Saxon time, this epic, like much of their literature, was not written, but spoken. By the time it
was written down by the Romans, it could have been told in many different variations. We read the
epic, and then saw the 2007 film adaptation of the epic that was directed by Robert Zemeckis, and
there was a great number of differences in the characters and their traits, and the plot of the epic. One
of the major differences between the epic and the movie was Beowulf himself. Besides him trying to
further his fame at any cost to be remembered, he was a very different character in the movie than he
was in the epic. First off, in the epic he is a stronger than anyone anywhere in the world and shows no
weaknesses at all (110 111). But, in the movie, he had a weakness for beautiful women, and whenever
he was confronted by one, he would forget his objective and would give in to their beauty. ... Show

In the movie, Hrothgar named Beowulf as his heir and jumped from Herot to his death immediately
afterwards. This is a huge difference in plot and a dramatic change from the original epic. The original
was better for the epic, because the movie s take on this didn t make sense. Even if Hrothgar named
Beowulf as his heir, the Danish people wouldn t allow that, because Beowulf wasn t Danish. And even
if they allowed it, why would Beowulf accept it? He was well on his way to becoming the king of his
homeland, which is what happened in the epic. This change in plot wasn t, in my opinion, the best

the debt capacity of state is established and then discuss and assess the effect of repaying or

According to Lee, Johnson, amp; Joyce (2008), Capital budgets assist in deciding how much of each
type of investment is necessary, and assist in evaluating available revenues (including loans) to
finance those investments.
States and most local governments do not use current revenues to pay for their capital projects. For
example, the construction of prisons, school building, or public university. These projects are usually
financed from bond revenues. The purchasers of the bond lend the funds to the states that are
necessary to finance the project. States, in turn, pledge to pay the bondholders the principal of the loan
plus a stipulated rate of return according to Gosling (2002). According to Lee, Johnson, amp; Joyce
(2008), In the United States, although some local governments borrow from banks for temporary
operating funds, the main source of debt finance is the issuance of bonds.
Determining Debt Capacity

SHOULD RETAIL INVESTORS INVEST IN INDEX TRACKER FUNDS RATHER THAN

Introduction:
This essay sets out to know which type of investment fund is better for a retail investor. By this, we
will consider the meaning and operations of an index tracker fund, as well as that of the actively
managed funds. Furthermore, identify the advantages of index tracker funds over actively managed
funds and draw conclusions in relation to the topic above.
What is an index? An index is a group of securities which gives reports of variations in the activities
of a stock market. For instance, these reports could be changes in monthly or annual returns or prices,
usually recorded in percentage. Index tracker fund managers track ... Show more content on

Actively managed (operations, advantages/disadvantages):
On the other hand, some portfolios do not represent a shareholders profit in a market. Such portfolios
are not based on market capitalization. Their aim is to give a different result from what the market has.
This is known as the actively managed fund strategy. Unlike the index tracker funds, the actively
managed fund manager is actively involved in the market. They may be able to detect when stocks are
over priced or under priced, hence, they may be able to pick out those stocks which yield the highest
dividends and invest in them. [Monevator the investor (2008)].
Actively managed fund managers believe their strategy produces greater performance compared to the
benchmark value (market value). Be that as it may, actively managed funds have risks because their
approach is regarded as gambling. This is because they buy stocks which they believe are undervalued
and sell stocks which are overvalued. The undervalued stocks may either yield higher returns, or,
those stocks may be underperforming stocks which will lead to loss. So therefore investing in an
actively managed fund is more or less like gambling with your resources, and so, the quality of your
outcome is based on such

Analysis Of The Film Chiron From The Movie Moonlight
Chiron from the movie Moonlight , his decisions of who he became, was not entirely by him. His
decisions were made through a mix of him and his circumstances. Proving that his decisions were
mainly influenced by his circumstances was the scene where he told Kevin that after the incident with
Tyrell, he went to jail and from there he built himself from the ground up. This decision is influenced
by him going to jail and he didn t want to let people to punk him around. If your bullied, your going to

selling narcotics. He started selling dope which that decision is influenced by his

Iago s Use of Language and Villainous Behavior in Shakespeare s Othello
In Othello, Shakespeare forms the villainous character, Iago through his complex language. Iago
shows his evil nature towards Roderigo through his use of demeaning animal imagery. Iago also uses
an extended metaphor to try and trick the ignorant Roderigo and (unknowingly to Roderigo), insults
him. Lastly, Iago uses repetition to beguile Roderigo to keep paying him. Iago s slyness is clearly seen
through his deceiving language towards the end of Act I.
In Act I, scene iii, line 319, Iago addresses the issue of love and lust through an extended metaphor. In

Because nettles, hyssop, and thyme can all be referred to as weeds, Roderigo gives a negative tone.
However, this is not the only place where it is seen that Iago uses negativity.
Iago also uses animal imagery to beguile the ignorant Roderigo. In Act I, scene iii, line 314, Iago uses
degrading terms again in his dialogue; he states, Ere I would say I would drown myself for the love of
a guinea hen, I would change my humanity with a baboon. By expressing this, Iago is saying that he
would rather be a baboon than kill himself for a woman. The terms guinea hen, being a negative term
for a woman, and baboon, being a racial label, are both stated with the intent to insult Roderigo. Iago
also states, Come, be a man. Drown thyself? Drown cats and blind puppies! (Act I, scene iii, line 334)
which infers that Roderigo is weak and juvenile. Iago uses demeaning animal imagery to express his
thoughts towards the end of Act I.
Lastly, Iago uses repetition in the plot against Othello. In lines 337 355, Iago reiterates the statement,
put money in thy purse to convince Iago not to give up on trying to pursue Desdemona. Iago wants
Roderigo to keep his feelings for Desdemona so that he can be successful in his plot and plan
accordingly. Iago also uses the statement put money in thy purse for Roderigo to pay him. Iago craftily
uses his repetition to assure ignorant Roderigo s part in the

Argumentative Essay On Children On God
Dark and gloomy clouds cover the gray sky as rain endlessly floods the planet Venus. No bright colors
are to be found, and great jungles surround the entire planet and never stop growing. In a small school
located on the drizzling planet , nine year old Margot stands apart from her fellow classmates, all of
them waiting for the sun to come out again. 7 years ago was the sun s last appearance, and the children
on Venus eagerly wait for the sun to show itself one more time. However, they don t entirely
remember what the sun is like, except for shy little Margot for whom the other children all hate and
ignore. When Margot describes to them what the sun is like, they don t believe her and think she is
just making it all up. This is because Margot s different, for she lived on Earth 5 years ago and still
actually remembers the sun and its beautiful presence and warmth. Unfortunately, the other children
on Venus hate her for that, for they never got to experience what Margot has experienced. Unlike
Margot, they have lived on Venus their whole lives. Due to Margot s prior experiences on Earth, the
children on Venus act negatively and jealous towards her. This major theme can be shown through
denial, depression, and harassment.
One way the children on Venus act jealous towards Margot is that deny her beliefs about the sun and
think that she is making it all up. Ray Bradbury shows this when he writes, It s like a penny she said
once, eyes closed. No it s not! the children cried.

Premarital Counseling Among Christian Couples and the Effects on Divorce Rates
William Q. McCardle
Liberty University Abstract
Premarital counseling is an option that is often prompted by clergy as a positive experience to explore
the familiarities, differences, and expectations that couples hold prior to the marriage commitment.
The goal of premarital counseling is to promote discussion of difficult questions that may arise after
the nuptial vows. Examining the effects of premarital counseling among Christian couples will permit
the exploration of how it alters divorce rates. The effectiveness of premarital counseling will be
analyzed and deliberated using statistics, data, interviews, surveys, and library research. Targeted ...

Many young couples who are entering into marriage are caught up in the whirlwind of engagement
parties, wedding plans, planning a new home, and meeting new family members; often, they cease to
look beyond the present and think about the issues that may arise in the relationship during the future
(Altenhofen, 2008).
In some instances, couples are ill prepared for marriage because they do not have a relationship that
has considered and worked through any type of conflict resolution (Phegley, 2003). Clergy who are
entrusted to conduct the marriage ceremonies have a duty to assist couples in discussing and facing
the difficulties that will arise as a marriage develops (McGeorge Carlson, 2006). Lack of
communication can lead to many complications that often lead to individuals going their separate
ways in a marriage (Clinton Sibcy, 2006). Through statistical information, research, interviews, and
biblical accounts, one can determine whether premarital counseling among Christian couples has an
effect on the divorce rate. The institution of marriage is blessed and instructed by God. Hebrews 13:4
of the King James Version of the Bible, instructs that, Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed
undefiled. (Hebrews 13:4, King James Version). Whenever Christ began his ministry on Earth, he

The Progressive Era Of The 19th Century
Maya Stepansky
Mr. Meyer
Progressive Era DBQ
Toward the latter part of the 19th century, bustling America, in response to the trends of
industrialization and urbanization that characterized its Gilded Age, began its new century by entering
into a new historical/political epoch that came to be known as the Progressive Era. This distinctive
period in history (spanning from the 1890s through 1920) found progressives seeking to use the
American federal government as a means of change through social, political, and economic reforms.
Politically, the passage of the 16th, 17th, 18th, and 19th amendments are evidence of the success of
progressive reformers, despite the fact that some of the new laws failed to create desired social
changes. The efforts of the progressives were mainly effective when it came to social reforms related
to worker s rights and child labor, but less productive in attaining improved civil rights for African
American citizens. In addition, the government was, to a large extent, successful in the establishment
of economic reforms to aid the working class, such as those enforced by Woodrow Wilson s Triple
Wall of Privilege ; however, President Roosevelt s famous anti trust efforts were ultimately not far
reaching enough at the time to eliminate all problematic corporate monopolies and related corruption.
During the Progressive Era, political reforms were effectively executed on the national level through
the passage of Constitutional amendments. Indeed

Rudolf Steiner developed the Waldorf education. This is the view in which the child develops through
a number of basic stages as he/ she grows from childhood to adulthood. Waldorf education strives to
develop in each child their innate talents and abilities through the use of curriculum which develops
imagination and creativity ( Early child care, 2010). In the United States there are more than 160
schools across the continent, 250 early childhood centers. Within all these centers the approach to
learning in early childhood is through imitation, imagination and example. The basic goals of Waldorf
education are to build free, equal, and collaborative society. To develop free human beings who have a
purpose and a direction in life as well as to achieve a balanced development of mind, body, and spirit.

Human Resource Functions Of The Human Resources Department
Do you remember when you first decided to start a small business. The vision was clear and the
excitement drove us from imagination to plan to reality. But, before we knew it, we went from happily
wading in the waters of our areas of expertise into the deep and sometimes turbulent waves of the
unknown; Human Resources. Human Resource functions include: Payroll, Employment Tax,
Recruitment, Hiring, Employee Relations, Termination, Regulatory Compliance and Training to name
a few. Each of these functions demanded specific skill sets and experience. They also began to expend
valuable time and resources.
The reality is that when reviewing a successful business plan there are two major areas to consider;
Revenue streams and cost centers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is definitely money well spent. Be wary of firms that will provide you with free audits since you
usually get what you pay for. The audit results should tell you exactly where you stand and
specifically provide a HR roadmap to get and keep you on track. Next, ask the most important
question: Do YOU have the expertise, time and interest to actually focus on those areas and do them
well? Finally, consider the risks and rewards of alternative Human Resource solutions.
After twenty five years of providing human resource solutions to hundreds of companies from small
start ups to fortune 100 companies, my advice to many of those firms, especially small and start up
businesses is to maximize their resources by at least partially outsourcing Human Resources. By
outsourcing HR, companies get to focus on what they do best and avoid the hassles and dangers of
managing potentially high risk areas.
Remember, as an entrepreneur you want to maximize productivity, increase revenue and control costs.
Outsourcing Human Resources and other administrative tasks allow management and staff to focus on
core business functions. Most importantly, companies receive high end HR services for less than the
cost of an administrative staff position.
MINIMIZING RISK
A critical component of any small business plan is minimizing risk. When reviewing potential Risk
Management issues consider this; Regulatory Non compliance and Discriminatory practices make up

Flight 751 Research Papers
Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) Flight 751 landed at Stockholm/Arlanda Airport I on 26
December, 1991, at 2209 hours. Little did they know, within 24 hours that would be the last time it
would land at an airport. The plane landed on a slush covered filled after it had snowed at the airport.
Upon landing, the wings still had roughly 2,550 kilograms of fuel left in each of them. There the plane
sat at a gate and at around 0200 hours on 27 December, 1991, a flight technician had finished
inspecting the airplane and had noted that ice had formed on upper portion of the wings.
By morning it was noted by a technician at 0730 hours that frost was found on the underside of the
wing, but after inspection of the upper wing he could not see any ice formed on it. It would later be
found out that there was indeed ice on it, but not a kind that is completely visible, and the ice that was
found on the wing was in fact clear ice. The reason this ice likely formed on the wing was due to fuel
being left in the wings overnight where the temperature within it was 20° C. Alongside that it had
snowed overnight while the plane sat, which made ice and slush build up on the wings. Which
amounted to nearly 10 inches of slush on top of the wings, in the morning.
After preforming deicing procedures, they concluded that the plane was free of ice and ready for

My Abstinence Experience
For my abstinence experience, I decided to give up Korean media for nine weeks. This type of media
included YouTube videos involving reality shows of different popular Korean figures, Korean shows,
and news involving Korean popular culture. I chose this habit because it has been a part of my life for
a few years now. Last year, I noticed that I was addicted to watching Korean shows and other Korean
media on YouTube up to a point where I would watch it almost every day and I was not able to get

Jealousy And Discrimination In Shakespeare s Othello
People discriminate for many different reasons: terror, jealousy, the desire for power, or a need to
dissociate themselves from other people. They can, thus, use someone s skin color (a hereditary trait
that cannot be altered) to express their hatred. In Shakespeare s play Othello, Othello, is a happily
wedded man and despite his African heritage, is a well respected general in the Venetian army. At the
beginning of the play, Othello has not experienced any type of discrimination, as of yet. However, by
Iago pointing out to Othello the existence of racist concepts and persuading him on taking action
against the individuals who are presumably harboring racist fueled indignations, Iago successfully
causes the ruin Othello and his wife Desdemona. Race is an issue throughout the play because of Iago
s hatred towards Othello. Also, Iago oftentimes uses racial insults against Othello. For example, when
Iago finds out about the elopement between Desdemona and Othello, he informs her father by saying

what libraries smell like. I remember the sunlight hitting the leather car seats as my dad drove me to

Bayesian Learning Essay examples
BAYESIAN LEARNING
Abstract
Uncertainty has presented a difficult obstacle in artificial intelligence. Bayesian learning outlines a
mathematically solid method for dealing with uncertainty based upon Bayes Theorem. The theory
establishes a means for calculating the probability an event will occur in the future given some
evidence based upon prior occurrences of the event and the posterior probability that the evidence will
predict the event. Its use in artificial intelligence has been met with success in a number of research
areas and applications including the development of cognitive models and neural networks. At the
same time, the theory has been criticized for being philosophically unrealistic and logistically
inefficient. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They allow intelligent systems flexibility and a logical way to update their database of knowledge.
The appeal of probability theories in AI lies in the way they express the qualitative relationship among
beliefs and can process these relationships to draw conclusions (Pearl, 1988).
One of the most formalized probabilistic theories used in AI relates to Bayes theorem. Bayesian
methods have been used for a variety of AI applications across many disciplines including cognitive
modeling, medical diagnosis, learning causal networks, and finance.
Two years after his death, in 1763, Rev. Thomas Bayes Essay Toward solving a Problem in the
Doctrine of Chances was published. Bayes is regarded as the first to use probability inductively and
established a mathematical basis for probability inference which he outlined in this now famous paper.
The idea behind Bayes method is simple; the probability that an event will occur in future trials can be
calculated from the frequency with which it has occurred in prior trails. Let s consider some everyday
knowledge to outline Bayes rule: where there s smoke, there s fire. We use this everyday cliche to
suggest cause and effect. But how are such relationships learned in and from everyday experience?
Conditional probability provides a way to estimate the likelihood of some outcome given a particular
situation. Bayes theorem further refines this idea by incorporating

CRISPR Pathway Analysis
The process in which the CRISPR pathway works contains a few steps that, after assembly of the
RNA and nuclease complex, will occur naturally in the cell. From this point forward, the RNA
sequence that is engineered to bind specifically to a target sequence will be referred to as guide RNA
(gRNA). The assembly of the gRNA and Cas9 endonuclease complex binds to the target gene
sequence and cleaves at a point just downstream of the protospacer adjacent motif (PAM; Figure 1;
Chang et al., 2013) The PAM is simply a sequence recognized by the Cas9 as non self to allow for
cleavage by the endonuclease (Chang et al., 2013). If this were not present, the bacteriophage
sequences incorporated into the host bacterial DNA initially, would be targeted by the bacteria s
CRISPR system for cleavage. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These breaks are then repaired by the cell in one of two manners: either utilizing non homologous end
joining or homologous recombination directed repair (Figure 2; Hsu et al., 2014). Non homologous
end joining will cause the two ends of the break to join together without the presence of the cleaved
portion of DNA between them, resulting in a frame shift mutation (Hsu et al., 2014). A frame shift
mutation can be equated to reading a paragraph in a book with a sentence or two missing. The
appropriate proteins will no longer be synthesized for that gene, resulting in inactivation, or what is
referred to as knockout of a gene (Hsu et al., 2014). The second repair mechanism utilizes
homologous recombination, during which the section that was broken can exchange DNA with a
homologous section within the cell to replace the cleaved sequence (Hsu et al., 2014). This is helpful
in genomic manipulation and potential repair of mutations, that otherwise would have led to

Microsoft, Microsoft And Microsoft
Later, US Justice Department filed antitrust charges in 1998 against the software company, claiming
that Microsoft had taken over the internet browser competition and limited consumer choice. In view
of antitrust regulation in the US and EU, and increasing competition in the desktop software market,
Microsoft was determined to move beyond the PC software industry. By formally recognizing the
emerging business opportunities introduced by the new internet era ( Web 2.0 ), Microsoft began to

Introduction
Tramadol is derived synthetically from codeine which is a phenanthrene alkaloid of opium. An
important fact to note is that it is not a narcotic. It is expensive but works extremely well in relieving
painful conditions. It was launched more than two decades back and it still continues to be a drug of
choice to relieve pain. It comes as capsules, tablets, suppositories and liquids for oral administration.
Ultram and Tramazac are the most commonly used brand names for this pain medication. Chemically,
it is cyclohexanol. Recently in 2013, studies were even made to use Tramadol in the distressing
condition of premature ejaculation.
Action Mechanism
Tramadol works at the mu receptors reversibly which is the same site that accepts opioid medicines.
These receptors are located in the higher centers of the brain as well as spinal cord. A part of its
analgesic action is also because it inhibits noradrenaline and serotonin uptake. Noradrenaline and

Opposing Views On Life After Death
Introduction:
Ultimate Questions are questions that cannot be answered or explained scientifically. An example of
one is Is There Life After Death , which will be explored. Different religions and cultures believe that
different things happen after we die. Humans prepare for the future all their lives, yet meet the next
life totally unprepared. This is a quote by the Tibetan Master, Drakpa Gylsten. This quote suggests that
humans are rebirthed, and have new lives after death. Buddhists and Christians have a somewhat
contrasting view on life after death. Christians believe that humans do not live only one life, but two.
Catholics believe in a place called purgatory, where people whom have un confessed sins go
temporarily, until clean enough to enter heaven. Buddhists believe in karma and rebirth. Religions
have opposing views on the topic of life after death, all which vary greatly.

What happens to your soul after you die?
Many people wonder what happens to your soul after you die and there are many possibilities.
Buddhists believe that you could enter six different realms, or be rebirthed and Christians believe that
depending on your faithfulness to God, after death one either enters into heaven or hell.

Anecdotal Evidence On The Classroom Engagement
Anecdotal Evidence Milman (2012) notes, the flipped or inverted classroom, used in K 12 and higher
education, has been receiving attention. According to Milman (2012), advocates of the strategy make
numerous benefits known, for example increasing classroom engagement. Milman (2012) notes there
are both advantages (it seems to be a good fit to teach procedural knowledge) and disadvantages
(students may not watch the videos and or it may not be the best way to learn the concept).
Additionally Milman (2012) notes, no empirical research exists to substantiate its use (p. 2); however,
many instructors support its use as a teaching strategy. According to Hamdan, McKnight, McKnight,

administrators and parents are researching this teaching method. Speak Up s annual online survey

indicated they were using some form of video enhancement and 18% of teachers indicated interest in

Thoughts Of Ancient Roman Man Of The Modern World
Thoughts of an Ancient Roman Man of the Modern World
An ancient Roman man of A.D. 100, walks throughout the hustle and bustle of New York City and
instantly is reminded of how diverse in culture and peoples Roman provinces were. He would take a
seat in Central Park and observe people who are talking in Spanish and another group of people
talking in English. He picks up a few words here and there because he has rigorously studied Latin
and Greek language and literature. He is comforted by the roads and bridges he walks on and sees. He

Some sculptors reminded him of the Etruscan sculptors who carved each and every flaw on a person s

Of course, the Roman man gets tired and thirsty, so he makes his way to the nearest bar to have some
wine. He was highly impressed by the wine and wished he could take back some to ancient Rome or
at least find out how to make it. Upon glancing at the television, he sees presidential candidates
debating. Presidential debates remind him of what he read about Cicero, a famous orator and
politician, who said, [Young men must learn to] excel in public speaking. It is the tool for controlling
men at Rome. (Hunt. 144). He wondered who Cicero would think is an excellent public speaker and
would succeed in ruling this country. He takes a few glances at the other televisions in the bar and sees
the action packed boxing and wrestling matches. These took him back to when he saw his first
gladiatorial combat when he was a little boy. He shook his head; he thought these modern matches
were too tame and this modern world doesn t know true fighting.
Thinking in depth about his childhood, he had a coming of age ceremony when he was about fifteen
years of age. Romans practiced a coming of age ceremony for boys of the upper class. This ceremony
introduced him into the public life and changed his view of the world for the better. It made him more
physically and intellectually apt. A modern version of this coming of age ceremony would be a Bar

The Disadvantages And Disadvantages Of Sweatshops In America
Sweatshops have been around for ages and many people support them because of the lower prices
within the US, but what about the disadvantages of them? Sweatshops include labor abuse, racism and
disadvantages, and unsafe working conditions continue to occur within victims stories suggesting we
should try to close them down. Although sweatshops may help families in need of money even if there
s not a lot of it, there are too many disadvantages to sweatshops and what lie within them.
Sweatshops require many garment workers in order to function and many of those workers are
immigrants or people who don t speak english as their first language. This labor abuse occuring within
the sweatshops takes place with workers receiving under the $3.15 minimum wage and forcing
workers to continue making clothing for more than seventy hours a week. Labor abuse even happens
in sweatshops with children, teens, and adults. It s no wonder why people complain about their
sweatshops to newspapers and conferences, the owners can beat raced people if they feel like it and
the workers can not complain or they ll get beaten too.
Racism and disadvantages take place all over the world since the 1800 s and still takes place today in
sweatshops .Carmencita Abad, a garment worker from the Philippines who worked in Saipan for six
years told a news conference in New York said that she suffered retaliation for trying to form a union
and help chinese workers. She said that many workers pay as much as seven thousand dollars to
recruiters to get the job often live eight to a room, must buy bug infested food from the factory owners
and routinely earn much less than the local $3.15 an hour minimum wage because they are forced to
donate up to twenty additional working hours a week to the factory and if they complain the chinese
workers can be beaten and/or punished.
This abuse occurs while US retailers watch, I have seen too many times the Gap inspector come into
the factory look at the garments and fabric then walk out the door. She said she read the retailers code
of conduct which it was only posted in English making it almost impossible for the Chinese workers
to read.

The Postcolonial Writers May Not Achieve International...
Abstract : The postcolonial writers may not achieve international success unless they address certain
themes, or more established figures discover them, should be considered as well. Mahasweta provides
a fruitful example: Mahasweta is an intensive and a social alert writer who showcases the rural
realities as well as a broad narrative of the importance of the unprivileged or the people living on the
extreme. While Mahasweta originally written in her native Bengali language, most of her works are
translated into English and regional Indian languages. The credit for translating her works into English
for the first time goes to Gayatri Spivak, who had translated Mahasweta s Draupadi in 1981 and
Breast Giver (Stanadayini) in 1987. Since then many of her stories have been translated into English
by other scholarly translators, and until now about a dozen translators have translated Mahasweta s
stories into English, among whom the foremost are Spivak and Bandyopadhyay. Mahasweta claims on
translators capturing the spirit of her work, which to her is more important than technical or even
artistic perfection and she readily authorizes those translations of her fiction that have been faithful to
the spirit of her fiction. A very important aspect of Mahasweta s text is spontaneity and capturing of
sudden surge of thoughts which runs in the mind of the characters. For instance, Spivak has translated
the text Draupati thereby compromising with the syntactic structure of

Proton- Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) Essay
A H2/O2 proton−exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is a clean, sustainable energy source and
suitable for the operation of small electronic device [1]. Among many problems that still exist for
PEMFC, the sluggish reactions at the cathode electrode and poor mass transport of protons and
electron decrease the fuel cell performance by increasing the activation overvoltage, or activation loss
[2]. This problem can, however, be solved by raising the fuel cell operating temperature [3], but only
up to a certain temperature before the deformation or degradatation of polymeric components occurs.
Thus, the reduction in the activation overvoltage for low temperature fuel cell operation is still
necessary when the PEMFC components are made of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Epichlorohydrin is suitable to be used as a crosslinking agent for crosslinking chitosan as it only reacts
with the hydroxyl groups of chitosan, leaving the primary amine groups free to bind with protons or
water molecules (both of which contribute to the proton mitigation). However, many questions have
not been answered in the previous report [7]. The current study thus focuses on the effects of the
operating temperature and relative humidity (RH) on performances of H2/O2 PEM fuel cells, which
are assembled with Pt/C which have previously been treated by using various epichlorohydrin
amounts. In addition, the thermal stability, morphology, and stability of the treated Pt/C are examined
and compared with the untreated Pt/C under the same test conditions. 2. Experimental 2.1. Materials
Platinum, HiSPEC 4000, nominally 40% on carbon black, was acquired from Alfa Aesar. Chitosan

Epichlorohydrin (Acros Organics), acetic acid (Sigma Aldrich), and sodium hydroxide (MERCK)
were used as received. Gas diffusion layers (GDL Sigracet GDL 10BB, 420 µm) were purchased from
SGL Carbon Group, whereas the 5 wt.% Nafion solution and NR 212 Nafion membrane were from
Aldrich and Ion Power, respectively. All other chemicals of analytical grade were used as supplied.

Tsunamis In The Killing Sea By Richard Lewis
The book The Killing Sea, was created by a person named Richard Lewis, and was based off true
events of a tsunami attacking Aceh, Indonesia, on December 25, 2004. Richard Lewis wanted to send
a message towards the readers, which was, Enjoy everything you have now, because possibly one day,
everything could be taken away. In The Killing Sea, the two main characters were introduced. Ruslan,
and Sarah. Sarah is a Western white girl, who has a father, mother, and a little brother named Peter.
The two teenagers, Ruslan and Sarah, comes face to face with a tsunami, which left them separated
from their parents. Sarah s brother is in need of a doctor, while Ruslan is on the search for his only
father. Which leaves Ruslan and Sarah, to test their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During 2004, on December 26, a 9.1 magnitude quake tsunami struck Indonesia and Thailand,
according to BBC News. A person by the name of Richard Lewis, is a son of an American missionary.
Richard volunteered to help people in Aceh, Indonesia after the tsunami hit, in the year 2004, which is
where he saw the true events that could happen from a tsunami. Later in life, Richard Lewis wrote the
book The Killing Sea and wanted to demonstrate a powerful message: Enjoy everything you have
now, because possibly one day, everything could be taken away. In The Killing Sea, on page 50, the
book stated, He brushed away the hair and rock back on his heels as Tjut Sari, the beauty of the photo
copy shop, stared up at him, her black eyes no longer flashing. Ruslan thought that Tjut Sari, the
photocopy shop girl, was beautiful. In the earlier chapters of the book, it explains how Ruslan would
always try to impress Tjut Sari in any way, even if he was just bringing in papers to copy. Now that
the tsunami hit, and that killed Tjut Sari, Ruslan is never able to express his feelings towards this girl
he liked. Ruslan never tried to make conversation with Tjut Sari, and he will never be able too in life,
because she is dead. According to an article, called How Scientists and Victims Watched Helplessly,
by Andrew C. Revkin, the article states Kalandar Umma, a 60 year old grandmother, was found
clinging to the upper branches of a tree. She had no memory of the waves or how she got there.
Unfortunately, Kalendar Umma lost her memories on the events that have just occurred. If Kalandar
had children, or family members, she will not remember these people that she lived the rest of her life
with. Which brings in the message. Later on in life, possibly something bad can happen, and that
happened to Kalander. Kalander lost her memory, and all the events that happened to her long ago,
and probably forgotten forever. More importantly, Richard

Nonviolent Civil Disobedience
I believe that peaceful resistance to laws positively impacts a free society. It gives citizens the right to
protest against what they believe is wrong without the use of violence. Although it is not right to
purposefully break the law it is better to break the law in a peaceful way rather than in a way that
could bring harm to other people. Civil disobedience commonly has to do with laws that conflict with
people s moral beliefs. Gandhi used nonviolent civil disobedience to protest racial laws in South
Africa and in India s struggle for independence. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and others made civil
disobedience a main turning point of the Civil Rights Movement. They defied the Jim Crow laws
through sit ins, boycotts, and protests.

The Department of Education exists to create equal opportunities for all its students. However, with
the increase in bullying rates, the U.S education system fails to make it clear that bullying is
intolerable. Bullying s harmful impact on students well being has been studied and continues to be
researched. The U.S Department of Health Human Services defines bullying as the unwanted
aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance
(2014). Bullies can be identified as people who use their power to manipulate or inflict unnecessary
pain on others. In the U.S, bullying rates in secondary school are still on the rise. According to the

Responsibility for the Tragic Events in Macbeth by William...
Responsibility for the Tragic Events in Macbeth by William Shakespeare Macbeth is one of
Shakespeare four great tragedies. The witches, Lady Macbeth and Macbeth were all responsible for
the tragic events that occurred, to some extent. The witches were the ones to start the evil as they
drilled the prophecies into Macbeth. His vaulting ambition drove him to perform not only the murder
of Duncan but of many others, and Lady Macbeth also had a part in persuading him to do it. She keeps
very calm until guilt suddenly strikes and she then commits suicide. Macbeth is about a successful
military leader whom is presented with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

he won t hesitate to murder as he did with Duncan. Seize upon Fife, give to the edge of the sword. His
wife, his babes and all unfortunate souls That trace him in his line. Therefore the witches were at fault
for killings of Macduff s family and for starting all of the distressing circumstances. Lady Macbeth s
main faults which led to tragic happenings in Macbeth were those of her powerful and manipulative
character which persuaded Macbeth to kill Duncan. She gives him courage, presents him with a plan
and tells him how they must act to get away with it. ...look like the innocent flower, But be the serpent

Campbell Soup Company Analysis
The name of the company that I am researching is Campbell Soup Company. Campbell Soup
Company is a food processing industry that sells a range of high quality canned soups, simple meals,
beverages, snacks, and packaged fresh foods. As a part of the company s broad portfolio of brands,
Campbell also makes many other products such as SpaghettiOs canned pasta, Pace Picante sauce, V8
beverages, Arnott s biscuits, and Pepperidge Farm baked goods. It is headquartered in Camden, New
Jersey. According to the Campbell Soup Company 2017 Annual report, Campbell Soup Company
recorded sales of $7,890,000,000. Under the company s Consolidated Balance Sheets, the company

The company is financially not doing well right now and the company has recorded a Net Operating
loss for three years now. I think the company is not financially secure because of how unstable US
economy can become. During the last American recession in 2007, which did not end for a few years
ago. large amounts of jobs were cut worldwide and those individuals remained unemployed for long
periods of time. Recession decreases people s purchasing power. If consumers income is down, their
demand will decrease which will lead to a decrease in company s profits. Since Campbell cannot
control the economy, recession, the global market, worldwide cuts in jobs, a decrease in demand, and
people purchasing power are all major threat to profits and net sales. In addition, consumer loyalty and
the attraction of new consumers are also threat to the Campbell Brand. From doing previous research,
Campbell Soup Company s core consumers are the baby boom generation. This is problematic
because the company is doing a poor job at targeting Millennials. According to Forbes s Jenna
Goudreau, the company is struggling to maintain relevance with Millennials. Business experts predict
that if Campbell Soup Company fails to increase sales with the Millennial group, Campbell s

The Importance Of Peace In John KnowlesA Separate Peace
In John Knowles A Separate Peace, Gene and Finny, best friends, have two more years of innocence
before they have to fight in the brutal war enveloping the world. In their free time, they do foolish
things, like jumping off trees and playing dangerous games. But in the back of their minds, they know
that in a couple years, they are off to fight, like the seniors they know. Consequently, the prestigious
Devon School will start training the two young boys for their near future. The war going on impacts
the book in many ways such as marking the end of Gene and Finny s childhood, discussing the lives
of the seniors, and developing the boys carefree summer. The summer of 1942 signified the last
summer of Gene and Finny s childhood. Since they are going off to war the next year, they decided to
take advantage of their last summer. Gene explains, We spent that summer in complete selfishness, I
m happy to say. The people in the world who could be selfish in the summer of 1942 were a small
band, and I m glad we took advantage of it. (Knowles 30) They are allowed to be selfish because next
summer they know they won t have the same opportunity as they do now, so they are spending it the
best they can. Also, When Finny was reading the newspaper he found a section about the war. He told
Gene, I was reading in the paper that we bombed central Europe for the first time the other day.
(Knowles 25) That supports the thought that the boys might be the ones bombing Europe next year,

Juvenile Justice And Juvenile Delinquency
Juvenile Justice has been a work in progress from the beginning of the program because of the
evolving mentality of the generations. The purpose of Juvenile Justice was to correct the behavior of
the juvenile delinquents and rehabilitation through a probationary period monitored by an individual
who paid for bail and periodically reported behavior changes to courts. (Mulligan 2009) We do justice
to the youth offenders by understanding the history of Juvenile Justice restorative programs, the
alternatives to incarceration, and how to help them amend their actions and behavior. The history of
Juvenile Justice went from incarceration with adults to reform back to incarceration in separate
facilities and similar rights as adult offenders. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of the efforts, juvenile court spread to 46 states by 1925. (Eskin, 1991) Constitutional rights
were given to juvenile offenders in 1967, when the Juvenile Justice was under scrutiny for unfair
treatment. A Supreme Court reviewed a case that sentenced a 15 year old Gerald Gault to detention
until the age of 21 for making an obscene phone call. The Supreme Court case determined that
juveniles are entitled to many of the same adult rights and have the right to know their charges, have
legal representation, and the right not to testify against their own selves. (Eskin, 1991) It is beneficial
for society to know and understand the Restorative programs and how juveniles can amend their
actions and correct their behavior. (Hagan and King 1992) Juvenile Justice is often thought of as
dealing with juveniles who commit theft or unruly. Society today has to face the reality that the
current generation of juveniles are committing crimes such as murder, drug offenses, and sexual
assaults. Restorative justice is known through objectives and in contrast to the former retributive and
rehabilitative beliefs of punishment. (Mulligan 2009) Community based juvenile justice programs
focus on developing the competency development of the youth offender to ensure the youth successful
completion of the programs in order to exit the juvenile justice system and become contributing law
abiding members of the community. The

  • 2. The Digital Of Digital Image There has been an explosive growth in use of internet and World Wide Web and also in multimedia technology and it s applications recently. This has facilitated the distribution of the digital contents over the internet. Digital multimedia works (video, audio and images) become available for retransmission, reproduction, and publishing over the Internet. A large amount of digital data is duplicated and distributed without the owner s consent. This arises a real need for protection against unauthorized copy and distribution. Hence it became necessary to build some secure techniques for legal distribution of these digital contents. Digital Watermarking has proved to be a good solution to tackle these problems. It discourages the copyright violation and help to determine the authenticity and ownership of the data. A Digital image watermarking systems have been proposed as an efficient means for copyright protection authentication of digital image content against unintended manipulation (spatial chromatic). Watermarking techniques tries to hide a message related to the actual content of the digital signal, watermarking is used for providing a kind of security for various type of data (it may be image, audio, video, etc). Digital watermarking generally falls into the visible watermarking technology and hidden watermarking technology visible and invisible watermarks both serve to deter theft but they do so in very different ways. Watermarking is identified as a major technology ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Band Camp Narrative The piercing ring of alarm went off for the last time, waking everyone up an hour later than usual. Light quickly streamed into the jet black cabin when our chaperone turned on the small cabin s only lamp, Wake up girls! It s the last day of band camp! All the freshmen girls groaned and slowly crawled out of bed. Quietly, everyone started getting their stuff together, so they could easily leave after the performance. No one had the energy to talk in the morning because we were all worn out from the work we did the day before. Everyday we did 7 hours of marching, and 3 hours of music practice. Yesterday was the hardest we ever worked because we had to be ready for the performance. Finally, it was 8 o clock and we all started to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I was doing really well until suddenly I felt something crawling on my leg as I was standing like a rock. Slowly I looked down, trying not to move my head and saw three skinny yellow bees crawling around on my leg. My heart started racing, I didn t want to get stung for the 5th time this week, especially by three of them. This motivated me not to move even more. Luckily, pre game started and the bees flew away. We began to march and I started shaking from a mix of excitement and nervousness. This is what we were working for non stop for the past week. It was finally time for all our hard work to pay off. That excitement ended fairly quickly when we started playing the star spangled banner, and my arms felt like giving up, but I knew I couldn t stop. As pre game was coming to an end all I could think about was how thirsty I was, and that my arms were dead. I tried to focus on my marching to ignore the heat and pain the best I could. After what felt like 10 minutes, the band was able to take a quick break as our band director explained the show to the parents. This was the first drink break this practice, so I was thankful to finally quench my thirst. The band all stumbled over to the Gatorade table. Straightaway Mia and I put our baritones on the ground, and our arms thanked us. Sweat was dripping down all of our faces and we hadn t even marched the show ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Vodka Informative Speech All About Vodka: Vodka is a master of disguise and that s intentional. There are no universal rules to producing vodka, but the final product is supposed to be odorless, colorless and tasteless. Distillers like to leave their mark, though, so they tend to leave in at least some flavor so you know you re drinking their vodka. That might make it a little less interesting to drink straight (though it can certainly still be enjoyed this way), but vodka is perfect for mixing. It s made from fermented grains or potatoes, though you ll also find vodka that comes from sugar alcohols or various fruits. Some of the best known vodka producers hail from Russia, Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia and Poland, though it s made all over the world including in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That s why many producers cut it with distilled water. In America, Everclear offers the highest alcohol by volume at 95 percent, while a few Polish vodkas contain 98 percent alcohol by volume. Flavored Vodka: Key to vodka s explosion in America was the introduction of flavored vodka. Well, that and an enormous marketing push by Smirnoff in the 50s and 60s. Many vodka brands began adding flavor to the alcohol to make it more appealing, and today you can find almost any infusion you could dream of. Try Smirnoff Raspberry, Svedka Mango Pineapple, and CIROC Apple Vodka to dip your proverbial toes into the flavored vodka waters. Flavors add drinkability when you shoot vodka straight and can enhance cocktails if you prefer adding mixers to your beverage. How to Drink It: Vodka is a blank slate, so use your imagination. Screwdrivers, martinis, bloody marys and greyhounds are just some of the classic cocktails. There s also the ubiquitous vodka and soda, which might help you feel more sophisticated. However, if you find yourself in possession of a particularly nice bottle, feel free to drink it neat, preferably in a cut crystal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The small girl faces the bull with unwavering defiance. Her eyes shine with determination, almost as if she were alive. The shapes are free forming shapes, they are not dominant shapes as a circle, square or triangle would be. The shapes on the Heart to Lion are shaped with curved lines to also show that the shapes are free forming. The line starts off being a straight bold line, but then seems to end up being curved into the free forming shapes. The texture of this is rough all around, the only smooth section that is noticeable on the statue could be the flat part of the shapes or the bold line as well. Wilfred Owen s Dulce Et Decorum Est, written in 1918 during WWI, and Alfred Tennyson s The Charge of the Light Brigade, written in 1854 during the Battle of Balaclava both analyze the effects of war through their elements and tone words. However, the meanings of the poems differ immensely. In Dulce Et Decorum Est the writer portrays a soldier being scarred for life as a result of viewing a fellow comrade being choked to death on poison gas. In contrast, the author of The Charge of the Light Brigade instead chooses to admire the bravery and courage of the Light Brigade, even though they knew they might not return from battle. • 9. Compare And Contrast Beowulf Beowulf is an ancient epic telling of a hero named Beowulf and his quests throughout his life. Back in Anglo Saxon time, this epic, like much of their literature, was not written, but spoken. By the time it was written down by the Romans, it could have been told in many different variations. We read the epic, and then saw the 2007 film adaptation of the epic that was directed by Robert Zemeckis, and there was a great number of differences in the characters and their traits, and the plot of the epic. One of the major differences between the epic and the movie was Beowulf himself. Besides him trying to further his fame at any cost to be remembered, he was a very different character in the movie than he was in the epic. First off, in the epic he is a stronger than anyone anywhere in the world and shows no weaknesses at all (110 111). But, in the movie, he had a weakness for beautiful women, and whenever he was confronted by one, he would forget his objective and would give in to their beauty. ... This is a huge difference in plot and a dramatic change from the original epic. The original was better for the epic, because the movie s take on this didn t make sense. Even if Hrothgar named Beowulf as his heir, the Danish people wouldn t allow that, because Beowulf wasn t Danish. And even if they allowed it, why would Beowulf accept it? According to Lee, Johnson, amp; Joyce (2008), Capital budgets assist in deciding how much of each type of investment is necessary, and assist in evaluating available revenues (including loans) to finance those investments. States and most local governments do not use current revenues to pay for their capital projects. For example, the construction of prisons, school building, or public university. These projects are usually financed from bond revenues. The purchasers of the bond lend the funds to the states that are necessary to finance the project. States, in turn, pledge to pay the bondholders the principal of the loan plus a stipulated rate of return according to Gosling (2002). By this, we will consider the meaning and operations of an index tracker fund, as well as that of the actively managed funds. Furthermore, identify the advantages of index tracker funds over actively managed funds and draw conclusions in relation to the topic above. What is an index? Such portfolios are not based on market capitalization. Their aim is to give a different result from what the market has. This is known as the actively managed fund strategy. Unlike the index tracker funds, the actively managed fund manager is actively involved in the market. They may be able to detect when stocks are over priced or under priced, hence, they may be able to pick out those stocks which yield the highest dividends and invest in them. [Monevator the investor (2008)]. Actively managed fund managers believe their strategy produces greater performance compared to the benchmark value (market value). Be that as it may, actively managed funds have risks because their approach is regarded as gambling. This is because they buy stocks which they believe are undervalued and sell stocks which are overvalued. The undervalued stocks may either yield higher returns, or, those stocks may be underperforming stocks which will lead to loss. So therefore investing in an actively managed fund is more or less like gambling with your resources, and so, the quality of your outcome is based on such ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Iago s Use of Language and Villainous Behavior in Shakespeare s Othello In Othello, Shakespeare forms the villainous character, Iago through his complex language. Iago shows his evil nature towards Roderigo through his use of demeaning animal imagery. Iago also uses an extended metaphor to try and trick the ignorant Roderigo and (unknowingly to Roderigo), insults him. Lastly, Iago uses repetition to beguile Roderigo to keep paying him. Iago s slyness is clearly seen through his deceiving language towards the end of Act I. In Act I, scene iii, line 319, Iago addresses the issue of love and lust through an extended metaphor. In Act I, scene iii, line 314, Iago uses degrading terms again in his dialogue; he states, Ere I would say I would drown myself for the love of a guinea hen, I would change my humanity with a baboon. By expressing this, Iago is saying that he would rather be a baboon than kill himself for a woman. The terms guinea hen, being a negative term for a woman, and baboon, being a racial label, are both stated with the intent to insult Roderigo. Iago also states, Come, be a man. Drown thyself? Drown cats and blind puppies! (Act I, scene iii, line 334) which infers that Roderigo is weak and juvenile. Iago uses demeaning animal imagery to express his thoughts towards the end of Act I. Lastly, Iago uses repetition in the plot against Othello. In lines 337 355, Iago reiterates the statement, put money in thy purse to convince Iago not to give up on trying to pursue Desdemona. • 14. Argumentative Essay On Children On God Dark and gloomy clouds cover the gray sky as rain endlessly floods the planet Venus. No bright colors are to be found, and great jungles surround the entire planet and never stop growing. In a small school located on the drizzling planet , nine year old Margot stands apart from her fellow classmates, all of them waiting for the sun to come out again. 7 years ago was the sun s last appearance, and the children on Venus eagerly wait for the sun to show itself one more time. However, they don t entirely remember what the sun is like, except for shy little Margot for whom the other children all hate and ignore. When Margot describes to them what the sun is like, they don t believe her and think she is just making it all up. This is because Margot s different, for she lived on Earth 5 years ago and still actually remembers the sun and its beautiful presence and warmth. Unfortunately, the other children on Venus hate her for that, for they never got to experience what Margot has experienced. Unlike Margot, they have lived on Venus their whole lives. Due to Margot s prior experiences on Earth, the children on Venus act negatively and jealous towards her. This major theme can be shown through denial, depression, and harassment. One way the children on Venus act jealous towards Margot is that deny her beliefs about the sun and think that she is making it all up. Ray Bradbury shows this when he writes, It s like a penny she said once, eyes closed. No it s not! the children cried. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

McCardle Liberty University Abstract Premarital counseling is an option that is often prompted by clergy as a positive experience to explore the familiarities, differences, and expectations that couples hold prior to the marriage commitment. The goal of premarital counseling is to promote discussion of difficult questions that may arise after the nuptial vows. Examining the effects of premarital counseling among Christian couples will permit the exploration of how it alters divorce rates. Many young couples who are entering into marriage are caught up in the whirlwind of engagement parties, wedding plans, planning a new home, and meeting new family members; often, they cease to look beyond the present and think about the issues that may arise in the relationship during the future (Altenhofen, 2008). In some instances, couples are ill prepared for marriage because they do not have a relationship that has considered and worked through any type of conflict resolution (Phegley, 2003). Clergy who are entrusted to conduct the marriage ceremonies have a duty to assist couples in discussing and facing the difficulties that will arise as a marriage develops (McGeorge Carlson, 2006). Lack of communication can lead to many complications that often lead to individuals going their separate ways in a marriage (Clinton Sibcy, 2006). Through statistical information, research, interviews, and biblical accounts, one can determine whether premarital counseling among Christian couples has an effect on the divorce rate. The institution of marriage is blessed and instructed by God. Hebrews 13:4 of the King James Version of the Bible, instructs that, Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled. The Progressive Era Of The 19th Century Maya Stepansky Mr. Meyer Progressive Era DBQ Toward the latter part of the 19th century, bustling America, in response to the trends of industrialization and urbanization that characterized its Gilded Age, began its new century by entering into a new historical/political epoch that came to be known as the Progressive Era. This distinctive period in history (spanning from the 1890s through 1920) found progressives seeking to use the American federal government as a means of change through social, political, and economic reforms. Politically, the passage of the 16th, 17th, 18th, and 19th amendments are evidence of the success of progressive reformers, despite the fact that some of the new laws failed to create desired social changes. The efforts of the progressives were mainly effective when it came to social reforms related to worker s rights and child labor, but less productive in attaining improved civil rights for African American citizens. In addition, the government was, to a large extent, successful in the establishment of economic reforms to aid the working class, such as those enforced by Woodrow Wilson s Triple Wall of Privilege ; however, President Roosevelt s famous anti trust efforts were ultimately not far reaching enough at the time to eliminate all problematic corporate monopolies and related corruption. Little did they know, within 24 hours that would be the last time it would land at an airport. The plane landed on a slush covered filled after it had snowed at the airport. Upon landing, the wings still had roughly 2,550 kilograms of fuel left in each of them. There the plane sat at a gate and at around 0200 hours on 27 December, 1991, a flight technician had finished inspecting the airplane and had noted that ice had formed on upper portion of the wings. By morning it was noted by a technician at 0730 hours that frost was found on the underside of the wing, but after inspection of the upper wing he could not see any ice formed on it. It would later be found out that there was indeed ice on it, but not a kind that is completely visible, and the ice that was found on the wing was in fact clear ice. The reason this ice likely formed on the wing was due to fuel being left in the wings overnight where the temperature within it was 20° C. Bayesian methods have been used for a variety of AI applications across many disciplines including cognitive modeling, medical diagnosis, learning causal networks, and finance. Two years after his death, in 1763, Rev. Thomas Bayes Essay Toward solving a Problem in the Doctrine of Chances was published. Bayes is regarded as the first to use probability inductively and established a mathematical basis for probability inference which he outlined in this now famous paper. The idea behind Bayes method is simple; the probability that an event will occur in future trials can be calculated from the frequency with which it has occurred in prior trails. The assembly of the gRNA and Cas9 endonuclease complex binds to the target gene sequence and cleaves at a point just downstream of the protospacer adjacent motif (PAM; Figure 1; Chang et al., 2013) The PAM is simply a sequence recognized by the Cas9 as non self to allow for cleavage by the endonuclease (Chang et al., 2013). Buddhists believe that you could enter six different realms, or be rebirthed and Christians believe that depending on your faithfulness to God, after death one either enters into heaven or hell. {NEXT SLIDE} Ecclesiastes 9:5 says For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing; they have no further reward, and even their name is forgotten. • 35. Anecdotal Evidence On The Classroom Engagement Anecdotal Evidence Milman (2012) notes, the flipped or inverted classroom, used in K 12 and higher education, has been receiving attention. According to Milman (2012), advocates of the strategy make numerous benefits known, for example increasing classroom engagement. Milman (2012) notes there are both advantages (it seems to be a good fit to teach procedural knowledge) and disadvantages (students may not watch the videos and or it may not be the best way to learn the concept). Additionally Milman (2012) notes, no empirical research exists to substantiate its use (p. 2); however, many instructors support its use as a teaching strategy. According to Hamdan, McKnight, McKnight, and Arfstrom, (2013) both quantitative and qualitative research is limited; however, there is research that supports the model and the instruction of strategies that engage students in learning. Hamdan et al (2013) state Flipped Learning has been mainly a grassroots movement (p. 9), although more administrators and parents are researching this teaching method. Speak Up s annual online survey (Fall of 2012) contained questions specific to the Flipped Learning method, 6% of respondents indicated they were using some form of video enhancement and 18% of teachers indicated interest in trying the method (Hamdan, McKnight, McKnight, Arfstrom, 2013). In Addition, 60% of grade 6 12 students agreed this method would be a good way for them to learn (Hamdan et al., 2013). Sophia, an online ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

SSD2 Module 2 Notes Essay MODULE 02 NOTES History of the NCO Evolution of the NCO Insignia Overview The NCO insignia evolved through the years from a variety of shapes, styles, and colors to the chevrons worn today. Sometimes changes in uniform style and colors dictated changes in the style and color of the chevrons. The history of the insignia is complex and often confusing. In some cases, no official records survived to document the use of certain insignia. Many times, the vagueness of official records resulted in conflicting interpretations by individual NCOs, which led to a variety of insignia designs for the same official rank. In still other cases, NCOs wore unauthorized grade insignia, leaving little if any documentation. The Year 1775 At the beginning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The addition of the three stripe sergeant bumped each chevron up one grade with the result that the ranks of sergeant, staff sergeant, and sergeant first class wore one rocker less. Thoughts Of Ancient Roman Man Of The Modern World Thoughts of an Ancient Roman Man of the Modern World An ancient Roman man of A.D. 100, walks throughout the hustle and bustle of New York City and instantly is reminded of how diverse in culture and peoples Roman provinces were. He would take a seat in Central Park and observe people who are talking in Spanish and another group of people talking in English. He picks up a few words here and there because he has rigorously studied Latin and Greek language and literature. He is comforted by the roads and bridges he walks on and sees. He comes across a water fountain in the park and looked around to see where the nearest aqueduct was. He would later find out that underground water pipes replaced aqueducts. Of course, the Roman man gets tired and thirsty, so he makes his way to the nearest bar to have some wine. He was highly impressed by the wine and wished he could take back some to ancient Rome or at least find out how to make it. Upon glancing at the television, he sees presidential candidates debating. Presidential debates remind him of what he read about Cicero, a famous orator and politician, who said, [Young men must learn to] excel in public speaking. It is the tool for controlling men at Rome. (Hunt. 144). He wondered who Cicero would think is an excellent public speaker and would succeed in ruling this country. He takes a few glances at the other televisions in the bar and sees the action packed boxing and wrestling matches. These took him back to when he saw his first gladiatorial combat when he was a little boy. He shook his head; he thought these modern matches were too tame and this modern world doesn t know true fighting. Thinking in depth about his childhood, he had a coming of age ceremony when he was about fifteen years of age. Romans practiced a coming of age ceremony for boys of the upper class. This ceremony introduced him into the public life and changed his view of the world for the better. It made him more physically and intellectually apt. The Disadvantages And Disadvantages Of Sweatshops In America Sweatshops have been around for ages and many people support them because of the lower prices within the US, but what about the disadvantages of them? Sweatshops include labor abuse, racism and disadvantages, and unsafe working conditions continue to occur within victims stories suggesting we should try to close them down. Although sweatshops may help families in need of money even if there s not a lot of it, there are too many disadvantages to sweatshops and what lie within them. Sweatshops require many garment workers in order to function and many of those workers are immigrants or people who don t speak english as their first language. This labor abuse occuring within the sweatshops takes place with workers receiving under the $3.15 minimum wage and forcing workers to continue making clothing for more than seventy hours a week. Labor abuse even happens in sweatshops with children, teens, and adults. It s no wonder why people complain about their sweatshops to newspapers and conferences, the owners can beat raced people if they feel like it and the workers can not complain or they ll get beaten too. Racism and disadvantages take place all over the world since the 1800 s and still takes place today in sweatshops .Carmencita Abad, a garment worker from the Philippines who worked in Saipan for six years told a news conference in New York said that she suffered retaliation for trying to form a union and help chinese workers. She said that many workers pay as much as seven thousand dollars to recruiters to get the job often live eight to a room, must buy bug infested food from the factory owners and routinely earn much less than the local $3.15 an hour minimum wage because they are forced to donate up to twenty additional working hours a week to the factory and if they complain the chinese workers can be beaten and/or punished. This abuse occurs while US retailers watch, I have seen too many times the Gap inspector come into the factory look at the garments and fabric then walk out the door. She said she read the retailers code of conduct which it was only posted in English making it almost impossible for the Chinese workers to read. We are deeply concerned by the allegations Gap. • 40. The Postcolonial Writers May Not Achieve International... Abstract : The postcolonial writers may not achieve international success unless they address certain themes, or more established figures discover them, should be considered as well. Mahasweta provides a fruitful example: Mahasweta is an intensive and a social alert writer who showcases the rural realities as well as a broad narrative of the importance of the unprivileged or the people living on the extreme. While Mahasweta originally written in her native Bengali language, most of her works are translated into English and regional Indian languages. The credit for translating her works into English for the first time goes to Gayatri Spivak, who had translated Mahasweta s Draupadi in 1981 and Breast Giver (Stanadayini) in 1987. Since then many of her stories have been translated into English by other scholarly translators, and until now about a dozen translators have translated Mahasweta s stories into English, among whom the foremost are Spivak and Bandyopadhyay. Mahasweta claims on translators capturing the spirit of her work, which to her is more important than technical or even artistic perfection and she readily authorizes those translations of her fiction that have been faithful to the spirit of her fiction. A very important aspect of Mahasweta s text is spontaneity and capturing of sudden surge of thoughts which runs in the mind of the characters. For instance, Spivak has translated the text Draupati thereby compromising with the syntactic structure of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Proton- Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) Essay A H2/O2 proton−exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is a clean, sustainable energy source and suitable for the operation of small electronic device [1]. Among many problems that still exist for PEMFC, the sluggish reactions at the cathode electrode and poor mass transport of protons and electron decrease the fuel cell performance by increasing the activation overvoltage, or activation loss [2]. This problem can, however, be solved by raising the fuel cell operating temperature [3], but only up to a certain temperature before the deformation or degradatation of polymeric components occurs. Thus, the reduction in the activation overvoltage for low temperature fuel cell operation is still necessary when the PEMFC components are made of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The current study thus focuses on the effects of the operating temperature and relative humidity (RH) on performances of H2/O2 PEM fuel cells, which are assembled with Pt/C which have previously been treated by using various epichlorohydrin amounts. Later in life, Richard Lewis wrote the book The Killing Sea and wanted to demonstrate a powerful message: Enjoy everything you have now, because possibly one day, everything could be taken away. In The Killing Sea, on page 50, the book stated, He brushed away the hair and rock back on his heels as Tjut Sari, the beauty of the photo copy shop, stared up at him, her black eyes no longer flashing. Ruslan thought that Tjut Sari, the photocopy shop girl, was beautiful. In the earlier chapters of the book, it explains how Ruslan would always try to impress Tjut Sari in any way, even if he was just bringing in papers to copy. Now that the tsunami hit, and that killed Tjut Sari, Ruslan is never able to express his feelings towards this girl he liked. Ruslan never tried to make conversation with Tjut Sari, and he will never be able too in life, because she is dead.
