Comparison Of George Washington And Simon Bolivar
George Washington and Simon Bolivar both played very important roles in achieving independence
for their counties. George Washington was the political and military leader of the United States, while
Simon Bolivar Was the political and military leader for parts of Latin America. They were both
recognized as great leaders, and because of the impact they left, they now both have monuments,
holidays, exhibits, currency, and many other things showing their significance. The main difference
between the two is how and what they did to accomplish this bold movement. George Washington
favored strategy more than the hero that saves the day. Where on the other hand, Simon Bolivar was
the kind of guy that would save the day and do bold and unexpected things. ... Show more content on

They both had access to money because of the fact that they were both born to parents that had access
to a plantation field. They were also privileged to be educated by outstanding schools and have
military training. Also they were for the same cause of, Advocating for freedom . After their heroic
actions they were known as the founding father for their nations. Although they took a similar paths to
get in the position to lead their country, their military course of action were very different from one
another. Bolivar was a more successful general on the battlefield, While, George Washington never
won a major battle (He had a great reputation though).
George Washington Was elected to be president on April 30th, 1789. He was the very first president
the United States of America. His contributions far outweighed that of any other person in the
presidential campaign.
In the late summer of 1777, the British army sent a major force, to split off the rebellion in New
England. But the strategy backfired. Without support from Howe, who couldn t reach him in time, he
was forced to surrender his entire 6,200 man army. The victory was a major turning point in the war as
it encouraged France to openly ally itself with the American cause for

The Coal Mining Rights Should Be Protected
Specific purpose: To convince my audience that coal mining is critical to the United States and, the
right to continue to coal mine should be protected.
Thesis: Coal mining rights should be protected.
Introduction
Attention grabber: According to Oxford Dictionaries retrieved 3 29 16, power as a noun can be
defined as Energy that is produced by mechanical, electrical, or other means and used to operate a
device
Credibility: I have studied various concepts of geology for many years and have completed a lot of
research on this subject.
Thesis: Coal mining rights should be protected.
Preview: Coal mining is a huge part of our nation though few people know much about it. This speech
will address three of the main values that are held by the Interior Department Plan and the citizens
across our country that support coal mining. These three values are: energy should be available for all,
American jobs are important, and our country should be self reliant and self sufficient. During this
speech, I will explain why each of these values is crucial to how we as a country function and how
coal mining will effect each of these values significantly if banned.
Transition: Lets get started with the first value.
Body
1: The value that energy should be available for all is deeply held in our technology focused world.
A: Do we ever stop to think about how we get this energy? It comes in many forms such as nuclear
power, natural gas, hydro power and coal. Our country is very innovative

Bp Case Studies
The purpose of the study was to determine the effects made to estimated VO2max and resting blood
pressure (BP) when subjects were encouraged to walk at least 10,000 steps a day for a six month
period. This study was performed at Arizona State University (ASU) and Karolinska Institutet(KI).
The participants from ASU numbered 712 and consisted of randomly selected staff, faculty and
graduate students on campus, ages 20 to 65 years. KI had 1,406 participants, falling under the same
category as those at ASU. Three hundred and fifty five of the 2,118 participants, 355 were randomly
chosen to participate in fitness testing. Participants were given a pedometer and told to record the

These numbers decreased on an average of 5.57 mmHg every three months. Age and number of steps
was related to the initial starting value, and somewhat for the changes seen over time, while gender
was only related to the initial starting value. While being different, the two research sites saw similar
changes in systolic and diastolic BPs. At KI, systolic and diastolic BP was seen to initially be high, the
fall about halfway through the study, and then slightly increase toward the end, while at ASU, systolic
and diastolic BP were seen to be lower than KI s initial measurement, increasing about halfway
through and then tapering off toward the end. Diastolic BP followed suit of systolic and decreased
over time by a rate of 4.03 mmHg every three months. However, for diastolic BP, gender had no
correlation to initial or continuous changes diastolic BP, age was only related to the initial diastolic
BP, and the number of steps taken was only related to the changes over time. For VO2max, ASU s
estimated VO2max was lower than KI s, and, over time, ASU participants VO2max decreased while it
stayed basically the same at KI. It was also found that the number of steps taken, and age were
positively related to changes in VO2max over time, while gender showed no

Goal Paper 16 to 30
1. Why did Jonah suggest balance the flow with demand instead of balance capacity with demand ?
How does Jonah define bottleneck resource ? Is bottleneck a bad thing to have? How did Alex identify
the bottleneck resources in his plant? Why was he not able to compare the demand with the capacity to
determine bottlenecks?
Jonah suggested balance the flow with demand instead of balance capacity with demand because
capacity of the plant is equal to the capacity of its bottlenecks and it would make flow through
bottlenecks a little less than the market s demand. Jonah defines bottleneck resource as any resource
whose capacity is equal to or less than the demand placed upon it. Bottlenecks are neither bad nor
good; they just are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughput can only go as fast as the bottleneck, therefore non bottleneck resources should only be
producing at the bottleneck rates even if that means that there is idle time.
3. What did Jonah suggest to deal with the two bottlenecks that Alex and his managers discovered?
How did Jonah calculate the value of a bottleneck part ?
Jonah suggests to: first ensure the bottlenecks time isn t wasted. If the bottleneck is sitting idle or
processing defective parts, the bottleneck s time is wasted. Also, Jonah suggests making the
bottlenecks work on production with will help today s throughput. Jonah calculates the value of a
bottleneck part by computing the total expense of the system and dividing it by the number of hours
the bottleneck produces. 4. Based on Jonah s discussion in Chapter 19, provide examples of why the
efficiency mindset could lead to negative effects. Identify a corporate policy (not from Goal) that you
believe may be the bottleneck for making improvement?
Based on Jonah s discussion in Chapter 19, we can see that the efficiency mindset could lead to
negative effects. Examples of this include when Jonah suggests the plant use their old machinery
because isolated the new machine works at a faster pace, but it takes six months to train a staff
member to use the new machine. Focusing on the efficiency of one machine may not make the
production process as a whole better and more efficient. An example

Pre-Quaternary History
Fires have been involved in shaping the natural world evolving the flora, fauna and landscape for
millions of years. In a synthesis of the Pre Quaternary history of fire by A.C. Scott (2000), he cites
studies showing historically there was charcoal on trees (Beck et al. 1982), charcoal evidence of
wildfires (Scott and Collinson 1978), as well as charcoal rich horizons which are evidence of a regular
fire cycle (Falcon Lang, 200; Flacon Lang and Scott, 2000). The Pre Quaternary history of fire not
only showed the presence of fire in the Devonian and Carboniferous periods, long before the
Quaternary period where humans first arrived but it also that this was a global phenomenon with
evidence cited from all around the globe. At the global scale, ... Show more content on

The reduction of those fires brought on a decline in various species and an increase in other species
that are adapted to fire suppressed ecosystems (Smith, 2000). Fire regimens alters habitats and
behaviors of many different animals including mammals (Southgate and Masters, 1996; Hobbs and
Spotwart, 1984), birds (Russell et al., 2009) reptiles (Russell et al., 1999) and amphibians (Pilliod,
2003; Russell et al., 1999). This study will focus mainly on the mammal and bird effects unless the
herpetofauna are opportunistically surveyed in large enough quantities that allow for inferences. By
itself, the effects of fire on mammals have been well studied whether is it small (Leahy et al., 2016;
Southgate and Masters, 1996), medium large (Shaw and Carter, 1990; Hobbs and Spotwart, 1984), a
prey species (Newsome et al., 1983; Vernes, 2000), or predators (Dees et al., 2001). This study will
hypothesize fire effects on mammals in using a mammalian fire and timber harvest review (Fisher and
Wilkinson, 2005), although it should be noted that they do identify a lack of data for the Canids,
Felids and Ursids. In accordance with the review, we hypothesize that rodents, insectivores, ungulates,
canids, felids, and ursids will have an increased response to fire while arboreal

The Twin Towers Of The World Trade Center
The Twin waterfalls that are placed in the ground where the twin towers of the World Trade Center
once stood serve as a memorial to the events that took place on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. The
Architect of these twin waterfalls, Michael Arad, wanted to create a memorial that was stoic and
defiant, but also quiet and respectful. Arad explained. I didn t want a design that felt the need to
scream loudly. I felt the site was frightened with so much history, anything we say here is amplified a
thousand fold. The project that Arad had in mind was no easy feat, it took roughly 6 years to complete
due to numerous architectural obstacles that the workers had to conquer. This mechanical marvel is
able to send water from the bottom of the waterfall back to the top at an astonishing rate of 24,000
gallons per minute. However, gusts of wind cause turbulence on top of the water so the engineers
needed to create a system that is not only strong, but also able to variate the power given to these
pumps in order to maintain that serene aesthetic look of the water smoothly flowing down the
waterfall. This mechanical marvel also boasts filters to take sediment out, UV lights to kill bacteria,
and chemical additives to prevent the water from becoming polluted. Every minute detail has been
thought of by architect Michael Arad and landscape architect Peter Walker. For example, trees were
placed surrounding these waterfalls in order to comfort and calm those who come to this spot to
mourn.

Inorganic Chemicals Cause Water Pollution
Inorganic chemicals is one of most important causes to water pollutants. These inorganic pollutants
naturally found in environment but due to human develepment activities, these pollutant amount has
been increasing rapidly and released into water bodies. The most common inorganic pollutants from
water are ammonium, phosphorus, arsenic, cadmiun, zinc, lead etc. It is highly toxic to human and
environment (Choi et al., 2011). The inorganic pollutant such as ammonia and phosphorus promote
eutrophication, which excessive amounts of these inorganic pollutant releasing into the water can
accelerate this phenomena in a few years (Donald M et al., 2002). The overgrowth of plants and
subsequent death have been created green layer on the surface of water bodies. These layer can be
blocked the penetration of light and oxidation process into the water bodies. Thus, depletion of
dissolved oxygen can be occurred in the water and affected aquatic life. The death and decay of
aquatic life contribute unpleasant smells and increasing the turbidity of water bodies (Conley et al.,
2009). In additional, the heavy metal such as arsenic can causes skin, lung, bladder, and kidney cancer
as well as pigmentation changes, skin thickening (hyperkeratosis) neurological disorders, muscular
weakness, loss of appetite, and nausea (Mohan and Pittman, 2007). The long term exposure to
cadmium causes various types of acute and chronic disorders like pulmonary odema, erythrocyte

The Mormon Cult
No one has ever been able to articulate just what makes a cult, and what makes a religion different. Yet
most people, when listing mainstream religions, name Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, and
Buddhism, among others. These religions have existed for thousands of years and have millions of
followers; they have thus earned a degree of respect even from outsiders. However, Mormonism the
tradition of the Latter Day Saints movement is considered strange, and by some, a cult. In the modern
age, many consider its very premise a hoax. Mark Twain criticized the Mormon holy scripture, calling
it chloroform in print (Turner 229), and Jacob Weisberg (editor of the Washington Post) called Joseph
Smith, the founder of Mormonism, an obvious con man (Ostling xv). Yet ... Show more content on

The writings, known as the Book of Mormon, describe how some Israelites traveled to the Americas
to become the indigenous tribes (Gutjahr 7). The books and Joseph s teachings laid out a faith that
seemed radically different than any other. But Mormonism shares roots with other religions; it began
as a form of Trinitarian Christianity. Like Christianity, it builds on Judaism; Mormonism also connects
with the Jewish history as the Book of Mormon describes the families of a lost tribe of Israel. Like
Protestantism, Mormonism can be considered a reformed version of Christianity. Mormonism, in fact,
has much in common with Islam both have Abrahamic roots and a modern prophet and sacred text.
Mormon ideas may seem radical in some areas, but are Christian in many fundamental aspects.
Mormons believe in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, although they see them as separate beings. They
accept the Old and New Testament as the work of God, and believe in many Christian ideas such as
sin, divine revelation, and God s eventual return. The main difference, then, is simply that Mormonism
is newer than other religions, and thus assumed to be invalid. As Noah Feldman summarizes,

Essay on Philosophy of Classroom Management
Philosophy of Classroom Management Being a male going into the elementary school education
profession, I feel that I can be a postitive male role model for students who might lack that kind of
male role model leadership needs. One of the first things that I will convey to my students is my
philosophy on classroom management. My philosophy can be summed up in just two words:
RESPECT and LEADERSHIP.
Respect
Just as the picture describes , in order for me to receive respect ; I must first deliver it to my
children. This does not just mean face to face. This also means respect them when they are not around.

Students will want to be as part of the classroom environment. The focus on this environment will
encourage student to want to learn. In my classroom I want to go by the encouraging words that Dr.
Yates uses in her book What Do You Say When...? Best Practice Language for Improving Student
Behavior .She refuses to allow any negativity in how she speaks to her students. Dr. Yates encourages
us to do the same with words of... statements. These words turn a negative situation and turns it in to a
positive encouraging environment me by using positive phrases to create positive responses to
negative situations. I agree that addressing negative behavior with negative responses will only make
the situation worse. Remember the old saying , Two wrongs does not make a right .
The Best Practice Language Framework will definitely be beneficial in my classroom and includes:

The Power of Words

Greek Creation Vs Celtic Creation
In many ways the Greek creation and the Celtic creation are different. They re both different cultures,
they worship different gods, they re from different time periods. But in both stories of creation, there
is a violent overthrow that leads to the death of the previous ruler and the birth of new gods and
things.
First in these stories is the way new rulers begin their reign. In the Greek creation story, Cronus hid in
his mother s shadow until night fell and Uranus came to the sky on Earth. When Uranus was resting
Cronus sprang out of hiding and killed his father and became ruler. It is similar in Celtic creation as
well. Donn and Danu were so in love that they locked into a loving embrace and never separated.

Analysis Of The Book The Fugitive Essay
The Fugitive
One summer night Sara, Chad, Austin, Tristan, Autumn, Myles, Shelby, and I got together to find a
game to play. We met in Lincoln at South Pointe at Cold stone creamery. We headed to the mini golf
course but when we arrived the place was packed. So we stood in the parking lot trying to figure out
ideas. We were getting nowhere when Tristan says well we can play fugitive.
None of us had ever played it or even heard of such a game. He explained it was a game where we
have two people in a car trying to find the fugitives the fugitives start at one end of the town and the
cops would start at the other. There would be a designated place where if you made it without being
captured you won the game. So we decided Lincoln was too big to play it so we headed to our
hometown of Seward. We arrived at the ballfields and broke into four couples. Sara and Austin were
the cops and the rest of us were fugitives. They got in the burgandy van and drove to the other side of
town. Right when they were out of sight Chad and I sprinted as fast as we could to get a head start
over competition. I only made it about half a mile before I was keeled over out of breath but Chad,
who is in cross country, kept running and left me behind. Soon I was alone walking the streetlight lit
sidewalk trying to find my way to town square. As a girl walking alone always freaks me out

The Pros And Cons Of Stereotypes
Photoshopping in the United States has a positive side and a negative side. Unfortunately, the media
and advertisements took photoshopping too far and showed off its evil ways. Some companies have
made their models look incredible, which isn t ideal in the minds of the children viewing those
particular photos. Teenagers spend a majority of their time on their smart devices scrolling through the
popular news feeds on their favorite social media apps constantly being reminded of extremely skinny
models with perfectly clear skin. They dream of looking the way all models do on the cover of a
magazine, however they need to realize how fake and unnatural everything they read or see can be.

According to a survey taken in 2001, which involved 13,601 undergraduates in high school, teenagers
who contemplate suicide the most are the ones who are overweight, but teens who recognized
themselves as either extremely fat or extremely skinny were twice as likely to undertake or consider
killing themselves (Arak). The act of photoshopping something so small can lead someone down a
deep, dark path. The suicide rate has increased a tremendous amount over the past few years, and the
main reason why is from young females viewing themselves as fat or overweight. These issues would
not occur if the models in retail stores or magazines were true to their size. If these juvenile children
are becoming suicidal from these reasons, the photoshopping industry should begin to create their
models to have those extra stretch marks and blemishes so they start to feel like it is alright to look
natural. A common argument against this is that the environment obviously plays a role in the buildup
of an eating disorder. Most females will develop an eating disorder at some time in their life, but less

The Secret To Motivate An Unmotivated Dog

The dog would be fearful that they would get yelled at, grabbed, shaken, or even smacked. Times
since then have definitely changed and now, we use toys, treats, etc. Before, we motivated our dogs to
avoid being bad. ( Pippa:How To Motivate Your Dog) We now use motivators that the dogs want,
rather than what they are afraid of. Respect (although sounds like it would be a good motivator) is
really only a show of fear from dog to owner. The dog is afraid that they will get yelled at for
correction or there will be some kind of disapproval. Respect from the dog is a powerful tool, it s just
not a very useful/sufficient tool.
However, some of the most powerful working motivators include food no surprise there but that is
what dogs love most. Long ago, dogs used to have to hunt in order to get their food. Since they have
evolved from wolves, that behavior is still in them, so really a dog will do anything to get the food you
offer them. Controlling the motivation tool, though, is useful for the owner when trying to train the
dog. It helps with behavior and it gives you a clue on what they ll act like when they re older. Since a
treat is the ultimate motivator, it keeps the dog in check. So

In the late eighteenth century, Reverend Thomas Robert Malthus described how human population,
when unchecked, grows exponentially while resources (specifically food) exhibits arithmetical growth
(Moseley, Perramond, Hapkie, Laris, 2014). Malthus primarily blamed the poor for high fertility rates
and argued for the abolishment of all welfare, believing that if the poor succumbed to the negative
effects of poverty, overpopulation could be stopped. While this may seem a distasteful solution to
modern environmentalists, one cannot completely erase population from the environmentalist

The Pros And Cons Of The Super Bowl
The home of the brave, the land of the free, and also considered the best country on Earth: the United

As time goes on, citizens of this country become less knowledgeable about the world around us. With
more opportunities than ever before for the chance of wisdom, society does the opposite. The super

claims the movie trailer is only an advertisement for Australia. Using this method of trickery, the
commercial grabs the attention of viewers through the idea of Hemsworth staring in a new movie.
Once the Advertisement has your attention, the commercial then promotes Australia. Not only is this a
genius move to promote the beaches, but the ignorance of viewers also played a role. The majority of

regions unique. Religion is something that virtually shaped the world so throughout this essay I will
discuss about the holy text of the bible, and about the general concept of the Judaism. Frist, Judaism
has a rich history of religious text. As Rabbi Edwards from Rodfei Zedek stated, The Torah is the first
part of the Jewish Bible. It is the central and most important document of Judaism and had been used
by Jews through the ages . There are five books where the bible is made Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus,
Numbers, and Deuteronomy. Torah refers to the five book of Moses, which are known in Hebrew as
Chameesha Choomshey Torah. According to Rabbi Edwards, This books were given to Moses on
Sinai, and passed down by word of mouth for centuries thereafter, it is considered as divine scripture
just like the written Torah . The important note to be known about the five books is, that Moses did not
write these books, therefore, God used Moses to write the first five books of the Bible. Judaism
believe that the Torah shows how God wants Jews to live. As it mentioned in the audio Torah teaches
people to be awaken and to be a better person, because none of us are perfect. Furthermore,

Concussions in the Nhl
Concussions in the NHL
Today in the National Hockey League, concussions have become a serious reoccurring problem. Some
of the league s best athletes have had to end their professional careers prematurely, because of
concussions. Gary Bettman, the NHL s President, general managers of each team, and the National
Hockey League s Players Association, have been trying to come up with a solution to reduce the
numbers of concussions each year. The NHL s regular season ended the second weekend of April.
Soon after the NHL announced that this year the league recorded the most concussions ever. The NHL
is failing to reduce the numbers of concussions each year. So we ask this question, is the NHL doing a
good enough job of protecting its players ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was compounded by failing to report these concussions to his team s medical staff and continuing
to play.
Another deceased NHL player/enforcer, Reggie Fleming, was also diagnosed with CTE. Within the
next few years, researchers conclude we will probably see more and more retired hockey players with
symptoms of chronic traumatic encephalopathy.
Wayne Primeau, a retired NHL player is one of the many hockey players who will donate their brains
to Boston University for research purposes after they die. Primeau had four documented concussions
during his ten year career. He thinks the real figure is about ten, including undiagnosed concussions
early on in his career. He still gets lightheaded and dizzy when he exercises, even though he retired
from the game of hockey about five years ago.
Most people feel that the league should eliminate all blows to the head. During an interview the
Washington Capitals head coach Bruce Boudreau said, I like seeing the straight on hits. It s easy for
me, because I m not out there anymore, but at the same time I m down there close enough to the play
to see how big and fast these guys are, and knowing how dangerous this thing could be in the long
haul. You re never going to want to take hitting out of hockey. At some point the hitting to the head
has to stop .

Tony Dungy s Quiet Strength
Tony Dungy is a highly respected pillar in the athletic community. Breaking barriers throughout his
coaching carrier; he was propelled into the spotlight when he became the first African American coach
to win a Super Bowl title. Shortly following his victory in Super Bowl XLI came much intrigue into
his coaching style and personal life. Many wondering how he gained the respect of all his players and
produced positive results while maintaining a calm demeanor. In his book, Quiet Strength, Tony
Dungy speaks on the importance of faith and family. Emphasizing the power of prayer, commitment,
and patience within faith. As well as the impact of his family on his career, that ultimately changed the
path he had preferred for himself.
In the first chapter Dungy opens by setting a scene of defeat, being fired from the Tampa Bay
Bucaneers. As he took his last stroll throughout the facility he began to wonder what else was in store
for him, and had his career in professional football finally come to an end. After all he was a man who
lived his life based off priorities. And he did make mention in his book, football was not at the top of
his priority list. In this moment, others like it, and the moment succeeding his Super Bowl victory
Dungy was repeatedly faced with the deciphering the next step of his career. Often times shying away
from the easier and more desirable route, to follow the path of God. It was on this path that Dungy
will touch many personally and open the

Citizenship Is An Outdated Notion Of The 21st Century
Citizenship is an outdated notion in the 21st century. Critically discuss this statement.
Citizenship can be defined as the position or status of being a citizen in a particular country (Oxford
Dictionaries, 2016). This definition is not very broad, nor does it cover the many aspects of citizenship
that exist in the 21st century. It is not only about being a legal citizen of a particular country, it is also
about being a social citizen. You can be a citizen of Australia but choose to live elsewhere for the
majority of your life. In terms of citizenship it is relevant on a political and social level. If you are
actively contributing to the country in which you live in some ways you are fulfilling your duties as a
citizen.
Citizenship will always be a relevant concept because when you are a citizen of a particular country it
comes with a sense of belonging. There is a feeling of pride when you become a citizen of a country.
In particular, if your family is from that country it can help to gain a sense of community with those
around you. It is important for people to feel that they are citizens of the same country as their
children. Sometimes legal citizenship changes a person s perspective and they feel that they belong
but often there is still a chance people may be excluded based on external factors, for example, they
have a different religion to the majority of a particular community. That s why it is important for
people to be social citizens as well so that they can

Sample Case Study Of Nyla Yaites
Introduction Nyla Yaites is an African American female, four years and eleven months of age. Nyla
was chosen for this case study because she seems to be a very interesting young girl. We attend the
same church and she has always greeted me with a pleasant smile and hug. Nyla appears to have a
sophisticated vocabulary, playful character, and seems to be well behaved for a four year old. I am
very excited about observing her for this case study. Since she was two years old, Nyla has attended

has been suggested that fathers attachment role during the preschooler years helps to challenge the
child in a supportive context that complements the mother s role in caring and comforting (Roggman

Reverend Dimmesdale In The Scarlett Letter
When people read a story, they most likely can relate to what happens to the main characters with
situations they went through or have heard of. If they cannot relate to what happens, they at least
know the problem that the character is struggling with or is trying to overcome. In life to get past a
problem, people might have to change or develop to figure out a solution. In the book, The Scarlet
Letter, a woman named Hester Prynne goes against her husband, Roger Chillingworth, and commits a
sin that is forbidden in this community. Reverend Dimmesdale is the man who was a part of this sin,
but he does not want to confess. The result of her sin was her daughter, Pearl, who is known around
town as the devil child. For violating the law of adultery, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hester has changed in so many different ways. First, Hester starts the story looking very ladylike, but
as the story progresses she becomes to look manly. Some of the townspeople believed she had cut her
hair off because she started always having it up. She starts to look ladylike again when she is in the
forest with Dimmesdale. Hester said she had to stay in Boston to face what she had done but being
with Dimmesdale changed her mind. She thought Dimmesdale and her could move away from all of
their sin `and start fresh. Another reason why Hester wanted to move away with Dimmesdale is so
Pearl can have a father figure in her life. In vast London or, surely, in Germany...thou wouldst be
beyond his power and knowledge (Hawthorne 218). Another way Hester grows is her choice of going
with the Black Man. Hester would have gone with the Black Man to get away from all her troubles.
Since they did not take Pearl away from her, Hester stayed and Pearl changed her view on life. Had
they taken her from me, I would have willingly have gone with thee into the forest (Hawthorne 129).
One of the changes that occur since she has gotten the Scarlet Letter is her view of people. She
understands and has the knowledge of other s sins but the downfall is she loses faith. The last change
she goes through is her needing to wear the Scarlet Letter. Townspeople say she may, she does take it
off privately in the forest (Johnson 133). At first, Hester believes she must wear the Scarlet Letter and
if it gains another meaning or just falls off then it is okay not to wear it. Eventually, the forest is a
place where she feels safe and away from the rules of the community so she feels it is okay to be able
to take it off. There are many more changes or growths that Hester has went through but can people

At the major college level, some of these responsibilities may be delegated but the athletic director
will still oversee these areas. Athletic directors work with coaches to determine scheduling of games
and practices. Athletic directors also work with conferences and leagues on scheduling and other
issues, like post season play.
Within a program, decisions may have to be made on how to allocate time for a field, court, or weight
room. The athletic director often provides guidance for coaches. At the major college level, the hiring
of coaches is a key responsibility for athletic directors that can be subject to public scrutiny
(careerpaths.com). Athletic directors work with coaches and perhaps a travel coordinator to plan trips.
They also coordinate officials and umpires at games and budget for their pay. Typically athletic
directors file reports on the status of each team and its successes and shortcomings. They may mediate
any disputes between athletes and coaches or between coaches.
Athletic Director Job Description
Athletic directors at the high school level work with other school administrators to assure student
athletes are academically eligible for a given sport. Athletic directors carry out this responsibility at
the college level as well. At the college level, they also typically work with a compliance officer to

By using TPS, information is easily available and helps managers to monitor operations within
organization. Information systems must be computerized in order to improve efficiency and
effectiveness in an organization. So, TPS are also computerized. (Valacich Schneider, 2014).
For example, At DHL Company, a world leader in logistics, they have a computerized information
system that helps clients worldwide to track their shipment and also helps the managers at DHL to
control all activities and processes with the organization. If a client asks information or an inquiry
such as where does my package reach? The staff in charge at DHL will be able to easily find

level of management.
Second, we have management Information Systems. This type of information systems supports

Renewable energy is as green as it gets as it is by today s technical standards and it s a marvellous
method for fighting back against global warming. Fossil fuels are damaging the planet and this can be
our way of doing something about that. The most important part is that renewable energy is
commitment free and sustainable. It can be replenished so we can use as much of this power as we
need and we can restock it or it will restock itself. The sun and wind are with us for the long haul. As
sources of power they are just waiting to be tapped for our future energy requirements all over the
world. Even more importantly, renewable energy produces little or no waste products such as carbon
dioxide or other chemical pollutants, so has minimal impact on the environment. Similarly, wind
energy is friendly to surrounding environment, as no fossil fuels are burnt to generate electricity.
Moreover, wind turbines take up less space than the average power stations. Wind mills only have to
occupy a few metres for the base; this allows the land around the turbine to be used for many
purposes, for example agriculture. As well as recorded in 2010, just in the Golf of the Mexico, more

The Importance Of Imperialism In Shakespeare s The Tempest
When a person takes a ball of red play doh and smashes it together with a second ball of blue play do,
it creates purple. Can the two colors ever go back to their original state of being just red, and just
blue? When two colors are mixed, the action can never be undone, therefore, they can never return to
the natural and pure versions of themselves that they once were . Due to imperialism, when you
emerge one culture with another for even a small period of time, the original residents are permanently
permeated with the new culture, an action that can never be reversed. In a sense, once a pure and
natural civilization is infused with another lifestyle, the effects, no matter how small, will leave the
native civilization changed. Montaigne deduces that there is a natural untouched form of nature and a
new nature, that is essentially impure. Impure in the sense that society has fallen out of step with the
natural way of life, to create their own rules, and own way of living. Shakespeare agrees with
Montaigne when it comes to imperialism and ruining the pure state of innocence, and his agreement is
shown through his play, The Tempest.
The Renaissance philosopher, Montaigne, insists through his essay, Of Cannibals , that society today
has corrupted mother nature, and taken away her purity by turning away from the natural order to
make their own set of rules, and execute their own way of living. Civilizations were once born through
nature, thus they lived by nature. In the

Film Review: The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies
When The Hobbit began entitled as The Unexpected Journey in late 2012, its trip to become a

Small Business Pros And Cons
With the competition for jobs becoming more and more difficult, instead of applying for some and
crossing their fingers that someone else doesn t get the job before they do, some people are deciding to
start their own small business. A small business is basically a privately owned company that is run by
either a corporation, a partnership, or just a single person. Now, owning a small business comes with
its pros and cons. However, the pros of owning a small business seem to outnumber the cons. So if I
had the choice, I would be interested in owning a small business. Being the owner of a small business
seems to have many benefits. First off, if you decide to work for somebody, then you can only get paid

Essay On Reconstruction After The Civil War
From April 12, 1861, to May 9, 1865, the United States had one of its bloodiest conflicts that it was
ever involved in. The Civil War was a war between the North and the South of the United States.
During this war, there were around 620,000 men that were killed. This war ended after Confederate
general Edmund Kirby Smith surrendered his troops. At this point the fighting had ceased, however,
the tensions between the North and the South were still present. There were still disagreements on the
rights of the now freed blacks. After the Civil War, there was a question on how the South would re
enter the government of the Union and how the southern states were going to view the blacks. This
time period after the Civil War where these questions were answered is known as The Reconstruction
and lasted from 1863 1877. During this time period, President Lincoln was murdered and President
Johnson was impeached. Congress also made major additions to the Constitution that they thought
would bring equality to the South. These changes caused a backlash and whites tried to get back to the
way things were before the war when whites had all the power. Despite a few positive outcomes, this
era of reconstruction of the South ultimately failed. Presidents Lincoln s plan in 1863 was to reunite ...

United States Prisons And Prisons
With my last name starting with a W I had the option of choosing between four different chapters.
Chapter 5 the Court System, Chapter 6 Jails and Prisons, Chapter 7 Probation and Parole, and Chapter
8 the Juvenile Justices System. This being a hard choice to narrow these four topics down to one I
have decided to discuss Chapter 6 Jails and Prisons. Jails and Prisons Jails and Prisons have no

gender, beliefs, etc. They were first intended for incarceration of prisoners in Colonial America and
the United States was local jails, which served primarily for detention prior to trial or execution rather

Penitentiary was opened on October 25, 1829 by John Haviland covering over 11 acres. During that
time ESP held notorious criminals such as Willie Sutton and Al Capon. The building was the largest

Essay on Kenyan Race Relations
South Asians, predominantly Indians, have a long history in Kenya and East Africa as a whole. They
first migrated to east Africa in the 1890s for the building of the Ugandan railway, and then began to
concentrate themselves in trade and professional occupations, such as doctors and bankers, thus
meaning they were, and somewhat still are, integral to the socio economic condition of Kenya.
Historically however, race relations between black Kenyans and Asians have been acrimonious. The
reasons for this are subject to debate. In general, Kenyans felt that they were marginalised by the
domination of trade by Indians, leading to a relationship of envy between the two ethnicities.

held, this was not a deliberate act to undermine Africans. While the domination of trade created a
general feeling of envy towards the South Asians, it was the illicit and corrupt actions of a few that led
to the creation of an Asian stereotype, which contributed greatly to the acrimonious race relations
throughout the period. When these incidences occurred, stories of them were spread around and
embellished through word of mouth, the media, and the African government, which caused a general
distrust of Asians amongst the indigenous population. This is illustrated by the scandal concerning the
Mahindra and Mahindra company in the 1990s. This involved the selling of defective jeeps to the
police force at levels far above the usual market price.7 As this hit the headlines of a number of
newspapers8, it spread around the idea that Indians were the exploiters of Africans and should not be

Summary Of Kotter sOur Iceberg Is Melting
In Our Iceberg Is Melting, Kotter s means 5 Empowering Others to Act, and 6 Produce Short Term
Wins are exhibited in a base up movement, particularly while considering Step 5 Empowering Others
to Act. When Louis (Head Penguin) acknowledged there was legitimacy to Fred s worries about their
ice sheet home, he started the procedures of enabling others by his movement of trust in the activities
exhibited by Alice and Buddy. Mate shows his comprehension of youth control to realize change by
enabling the individuals who did not have the immediate energy to achieve change. In building up the
arrangement, Buddy s significant part in the arrangement was to converse with the kindergarten
instructor. This prompted the kindergarten educator to tell the understudies stories of courageous
activity to help other people under troublesome and evolving conditions (Kotter and Rathgeber, 2006,
p.94). This without a doubt drove the adolescent to consider ways they could effectuate change, which
Alice later found when she experienced kindergarten understudy Sally Ann. Alice strengthened the
seeds of progress that had been planted by Buddy s underlying discussion with the kindergarten
educator, the kindergarten instructor s courageous stories sustained the planted seed, and Sally Ann s
cooperation with Alice showed the growing of strengthening. These previously mentioned activities
set the establishment for Stage 6 Produce Short Term Wins when the scouts chosen to strike out and

George Washington was the political and military leader of the United States, while Simon Bolivar Was the political and military leader for parts of Latin America. They were both recognized as great leaders, and because of the impact they left, they now both have monuments, holidays, exhibits, currency, and many other things showing their significance. The main difference between the two is how and what they did to accomplish this bold movement. George Washington favored strategy more than the hero that saves the day. • 5. Bp Case Studies The purpose of the study was to determine the effects made to estimated VO2max and resting blood pressure (BP) when subjects were encouraged to walk at least 10,000 steps a day for a six month period. This study was performed at Arizona State University (ASU) and Karolinska Institutet(KI). The participants from ASU numbered 712 and consisted of randomly selected staff, faculty and graduate students on campus, ages 20 to 65 years. KI had 1,406 participants, falling under the same category as those at ASU. Three hundred and fifty five of the 2,118 participants, 355 were randomly chosen to participate in fitness testing. These numbers decreased on an average of 5.57 mmHg every three months. Age and number of steps was related to the initial starting value, and somewhat for the changes seen over time, while gender was only related to the initial starting value. While being different, the two research sites saw similar changes in systolic and diastolic BPs. At KI, systolic and diastolic BP was seen to initially be high, the fall about halfway through the study, and then slightly increase toward the end, while at ASU, systolic and diastolic BP were seen to be lower than KI s initial measurement, increasing about halfway through and then tapering off toward the end. Diastolic BP followed suit of systolic and decreased over time by a rate of 4.03 mmHg every three months. However, for diastolic BP, gender had no correlation to initial or continuous changes diastolic BP, age was only related to the initial diastolic BP, and the number of steps taken was only related to the changes over time. For VO2max, ASU s estimated VO2max was lower than KI s, and, over time, ASU participants VO2max decreased while it stayed basically the same at KI. It was also found that the number of steps taken, and age were positively related to changes in VO2max over time, while gender showed no ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Goal Paper 16 to 30 1. Why did Jonah suggest balance the flow with demand instead of balance capacity with demand ? How does Jonah define bottleneck resource ? Is bottleneck a bad thing to have? How did Alex identify the bottleneck resources in his plant? Why was he not able to compare the demand with the capacity to determine bottlenecks? Jonah suggested balance the flow with demand instead of balance capacity with demand because capacity of the plant is equal to the capacity of its bottlenecks and it would make flow through bottlenecks a little less than the market s demand. Jonah defines bottleneck resource as any resource whose capacity is equal to or less than the demand placed upon it. Bottlenecks are neither bad nor good; they just are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughput can only go as fast as the bottleneck, therefore non bottleneck resources should only be producing at the bottleneck rates even if that means that there is idle time. 3. What did Jonah suggest to deal with the two bottlenecks that Alex and his managers discovered? How did Jonah calculate the value of a bottleneck part ? Jonah suggests to: first ensure the bottlenecks time isn t wasted. If the bottleneck is sitting idle or processing defective parts, the bottleneck s time is wasted. Also, Jonah suggests making the bottlenecks work on production with will help today s throughput. Jonah calculates the value of a bottleneck part by computing the total expense of the system and dividing it by the number of hours the bottleneck produces. 4. Based on Jonah s discussion in Chapter 19, provide examples of why the efficiency mindset could lead to negative effects. Identify a corporate policy (not from Goal) that you believe may be the bottleneck for making improvement? Based on Jonah s discussion in Chapter 19, we can see that the efficiency mindset could lead to negative effects. Examples of this include when Jonah suggests the plant use their old machinery because isolated the new machine works at a faster pace, but it takes six months to train a staff member to use the new machine. Focusing on the efficiency of one machine may not make the production process as a whole better and more efficient. An example ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Pre-Quaternary History Fires have been involved in shaping the natural world evolving the flora, fauna and landscape for millions of years. In a synthesis of the Pre Quaternary history of fire by A.C. Scott (2000), he cites studies showing historically there was charcoal on trees (Beck et al. 1982), charcoal evidence of wildfires (Scott and Collinson 1978), as well as charcoal rich horizons which are evidence of a regular fire cycle (Falcon Lang, 200; Flacon Lang and Scott, 2000). The Pre Quaternary history of fire not only showed the presence of fire in the Devonian and Carboniferous periods, long before the Quaternary period where humans first arrived but it also that this was a global phenomenon with evidence cited from all around the globe. At the global scale, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reduction of those fires brought on a decline in various species and an increase in other species that are adapted to fire suppressed ecosystems (Smith, 2000). Fire regimens alters habitats and behaviors of many different animals including mammals (Southgate and Masters, 1996; Hobbs and Spotwart, 1984), birds (Russell et al., 2009) reptiles (Russell et al., 1999) and amphibians (Pilliod, 2003; Russell et al., 1999). This study will focus mainly on the mammal and bird effects unless the herpetofauna are opportunistically surveyed in large enough quantities that allow for inferences. By itself, the effects of fire on mammals have been well studied whether is it small (Leahy et al., 2016; Southgate and Masters, 1996), medium large (Shaw and Carter, 1990; Hobbs and Spotwart, 1984), a prey species (Newsome et al., 1983; Vernes, 2000), or predators (Dees et al., 2001). This study will hypothesize fire effects on mammals in using a mammalian fire and timber harvest review (Fisher and Wilkinson, 2005), although it should be noted that they do identify a lack of data for the Canids, Felids and Ursids. In accordance with the review, we hypothesize that rodents, insectivores, ungulates, canids, felids, and ursids will have an increased response to fire while arboreal ... • 9. The Twin Towers Of The World Trade Center The Twin waterfalls that are placed in the ground where the twin towers of the World Trade Center once stood serve as a memorial to the events that took place on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. The Architect of these twin waterfalls, Michael Arad, wanted to create a memorial that was stoic and defiant, but also quiet and respectful. Arad explained. I didn t want a design that felt the need to scream loudly. I felt the site was frightened with so much history, anything we say here is amplified a thousand fold. The project that Arad had in mind was no easy feat, it took roughly 6 years to complete due to numerous architectural obstacles that the workers had to conquer. This mechanical marvel is able to send water from the bottom of the waterfall back to the top at an astonishing rate of 24,000 gallons per minute. However, gusts of wind cause turbulence on top of the water so the engineers needed to create a system that is not only strong, but also able to variate the power given to these pumps in order to maintain that serene aesthetic look of the water smoothly flowing down the waterfall. This mechanical marvel also boasts filters to take sediment out, UV lights to kill bacteria, and chemical additives to prevent the water from becoming polluted. Every minute detail has been thought of by architect Michael Arad and landscape architect Peter Walker. For example, trees were placed surrounding these waterfalls in order to comfort and calm those who come to this spot to mourn. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Inorganic Chemicals Cause Water Pollution Inorganic chemicals is one of most important causes to water pollutants. These inorganic pollutants naturally found in environment but due to human develepment activities, these pollutant amount has been increasing rapidly and released into water bodies. The most common inorganic pollutants from water are ammonium, phosphorus, arsenic, cadmiun, zinc, lead etc. It is highly toxic to human and environment (Choi et al., 2011). The inorganic pollutant such as ammonia and phosphorus promote eutrophication, which excessive amounts of these inorganic pollutant releasing into the water can accelerate this phenomena in a few years (Donald M et al., 2002). The overgrowth of plants and subsequent death have been created green layer on the surface of water bodies. These layer can be blocked the penetration of light and oxidation process into the water bodies. Thus, depletion of dissolved oxygen can be occurred in the water and affected aquatic life. The death and decay of aquatic life contribute unpleasant smells and increasing the turbidity of water bodies (Conley et al., 2009). In additional, the heavy metal such as arsenic can causes skin, lung, bladder, and kidney cancer as well as pigmentation changes, skin thickening (hyperkeratosis) neurological disorders, muscular weakness, loss of appetite, and nausea (Mohan and Pittman, 2007). According to Rabbi Edwards, This books were given to Moses on Sinai, and passed down by word of mouth for centuries thereafter, it is considered as divine scripture just like the written Torah . The important note to be known about the five books is, that Moses did not write these books, therefore, God used Moses to write the first five books of the Bible. It is not only about being a legal citizen of a particular country, it is also about being a social citizen. Renewable energy is as green as it gets as it is by today s technical standards and it s a marvellous method for fighting back against global warming. Fossil fuels are damaging the planet and this can be our way of doing something about that. The most important part is that renewable energy is commitment free and sustainable. It can be replenished so we can use as much of this power as we need and we can restock it or it will restock itself. The sun and wind are with us for the long haul. As sources of power they are just waiting to be tapped for our future energy requirements all over the world. Even more importantly, renewable energy produces little or no waste products such as carbon dioxide or other chemical pollutants, so has minimal impact on the environment. Similarly, wind energy is friendly to surrounding environment, as no fossil fuels are burnt to generate electricity. Moreover, wind turbines take up less space than the average power stations. Wind mills only have to occupy a few metres for the base; this allows the land around the turbine to be used for many purposes, for example agriculture. As well as recorded in 2010, just in the Golf of the Mexico, more than 7000 birds, sea turtles and dolphins died because of the oil spills in the region. • 38. The Importance Of Imperialism In Shakespeare s The Tempest When a person takes a ball of red play doh and smashes it together with a second ball of blue play do, it creates purple. Can the two colors ever go back to their original state of being just red, and just blue? When two colors are mixed, the action can never be undone, therefore, they can never return to the natural and pure versions of themselves that they once were . Due to imperialism, when you emerge one culture with another for even a small period of time, the original residents are permanently permeated with the new culture, an action that can never be reversed. In a sense, once a pure and natural civilization is infused with another lifestyle, the effects, no matter how small, will leave the native civilization changed. Montaigne deduces that there is a natural untouched form of nature and a new nature, that is essentially impure. Impure in the sense that society has fallen out of step with the natural way of life, to create their own rules, and own way of living. Shakespeare agrees with Montaigne when it comes to imperialism and ruining the pure state of innocence, and his agreement is shown through his play, The Tempest. The Renaissance philosopher, Montaigne, insists through his essay, Of Cannibals , that society today has corrupted mother nature, and taken away her purity by turning away from the natural order to make their own set of rules, and execute their own way of living. Small Business Pros And Cons With the competition for jobs becoming more and more difficult, instead of applying for some and crossing their fingers that someone else doesn t get the job before they do, some people are deciding to start their own small business. A small business is basically a privately owned company that is run by either a corporation, a partnership, or just a single person. Now, owning a small business comes with its pros and cons. However, the pros of owning a small business seem to outnumber the cons. So if I had the choice, I would be interested in owning a small business. Being the owner of a small business seems to have many benefits. First off, if you decide to work for somebody, then you can only get paid what they think suits you based off your experience and skills. However, if you own your own small business, you re able to make much more money because you re able to set your own price that customers would have to pay for you to provide your goods and/or services. Tying in with setting your own price points, being the owner of a business means you also get to be your own boss. You re able to make your own decisions that you believe will turn your small business into a successful one, such as hiring well qualified employees to help make it run as smoothly as possible. • 41. Essay On Reconstruction After The Civil War From April 12, 1861, to May 9, 1865, the United States had one of its bloodiest conflicts that it was ever involved in. The Civil War was a war between the North and the South of the United States. During this war, there were around 620,000 men that were killed. This war ended after Confederate general Edmund Kirby Smith surrendered his troops. At this point the fighting had ceased, however, the tensions between the North and the South were still present. There were still disagreements on the rights of the now freed blacks. After the Civil War, there was a question on how the South would re enter the government of the Union and how the southern states were going to view the blacks. This time period after the Civil War where these questions were answered is known as The Reconstruction and lasted from 1863 1877. During this time period, President Lincoln was murdered and President Johnson was impeached. Congress also made major additions to the Constitution that they thought would bring equality to the South. These changes caused a backlash and whites tried to get back to the way things were before the war when whites had all the power. Despite a few positive outcomes, this era of reconstruction of the South ultimately failed. Presidents Lincoln s plan in 1863 was to reunite ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Chapter 5 the Court System, Chapter 6 Jails and Prisons, Chapter 7 Probation and Parole, and Chapter 8 the Juvenile Justices System. This being a hard choice to narrow these four topics down to one I have decided to discuss Chapter 6 Jails and Prisons. Jails and Prisons Jails and Prisons have no discrimination at all. You have all different kinds of people locked up behind bars different race, gender, beliefs, etc. They were first intended for incarceration of prisoners in Colonial America and the United States was local jails, which served primarily for detention prior to trial or execution rather than for punishment or rehabilitation of the criminal like now a days. After doing a little bit of research I believe the oldest penitentiary in the United States dates back to 1829, the Eastern State Penitentiary also known as ESP. Located in Fairmount, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Eastern State Penitentiary was opened on October 25, 1829 by John Haviland covering over 11 acres. During that time ESP held notorious criminals such as Willie Sutton and Al Capon. The building was the largest and most expensive public structure ever erected and became a model for more than 300 prisons worldwide (Rowan 2010). During that time period the warden was required to visit each inmate every day and the overseers were required to visit the inmates three times a day known as the Pennsylvania ... • 43. Essay on Kenyan Race Relations South Asians, predominantly Indians, have a long history in Kenya and East Africa as a whole. They first migrated to east Africa in the 1890s for the building of the Ugandan railway, and then began to concentrate themselves in trade and professional occupations, such as doctors and bankers, thus meaning they were, and somewhat still are, integral to the socio economic condition of Kenya. Historically however, race relations between black Kenyans and Asians have been acrimonious. The reasons for this are subject to debate. In general, Kenyans felt that they were marginalised by the domination of trade by Indians, leading to a relationship of envy between the two ethnicities. Furthermore, there was a popular view that the Asians were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instead, Asians were on the whole willing to work much longer hours and operated more efficiently than African traders were ever able to6, meaning that the Asian dominance of trade was unavoidable. Therefore, although a main cause of the hostile race relations was the monopoly over trade that Asians held, this was not a deliberate act to undermine Africans. While the domination of trade created a general feeling of envy towards the South Asians, it was the illicit and corrupt actions of a few that led to the creation of an Asian stereotype, which contributed greatly to the acrimonious race relations throughout the period. When these incidences occurred, stories of them were spread around and embellished through word of mouth, the media, and the African government, which caused a general distrust of Asians amongst the indigenous population. This is illustrated by the scandal concerning the Mahindra and Mahindra company in the 1990s. This involved the selling of defective jeeps to the police force at levels far above the usual market price.7 As this hit the headlines of a number of newspapers8, it spread around the idea that Indians were the exploiters of Africans and should not be ... This prompted the kindergarten educator to tell the understudies stories of courageous activity to help other people under troublesome and evolving conditions (Kotter and Rathgeber, 2006, p.94). This without a doubt drove the adolescent to consider ways they could effectuate change, which Alice later found when she experienced kindergarten understudy Sally Ann. Alice strengthened the seeds of progress that had been planted by Buddy s underlying discussion with the kindergarten educator, the kindergarten instructor s courageous stories sustained the planted seed, and Sally Ann s cooperation with Alice showed the growing of strengthening.
