The school of Athens From the book Living with Art I chose Raphael. The School of Athens on page
160. This painting took place in Stanza della Segnatura, Vatican. Rome. This is a naturalistic stylized
pace of art. The two visual elements of design that I saw in the Raphael painting, is color, and space.
There are both horizontal, vertical, and diagonal lines to making up the arches and all the columns. An
implied line is in each group of men and women in this paining. The group of young women and men
in the bottom right hand corner are looking up at the ceiling as like the man are trying to describe the

Balance in Raphael, The School of Athens is all in the front of the painting. From the left and right
everyone is looking or in the direction of the two men in the middle of the painting. The two men in
the middle are Plato and Aristotle. Plato on the left is carrying his Timaios, and Aristotle is holding the
Ethics. The emphasis of the allusion form the long hallway behind everyone, makes the building seem
very large. It makes it look as it goes on forever. The author of The School of Athens, is Raffaello
Sanzio. He was born in the mountain town of Urbino. Raphael was born on April 6, 1483 and also
died on the same day in Rome in 1520. He settled in Florence in 1505 at only fifteen year s old.
Raphael first produced art in Urbino at a young age. Raphael produced his first piece of art at fifteen
year s old. He is a naturalistic artist. He used paint for his paintings. He started with Marriage of the
Virgin (1504), the Dispute over the Sacrament (1510 1511), then the misnamed School of Athens
(1510 1511), and lastly the Cardinal Virtues (1511). Raphael was part of the great trio of High
Renaissance masters. He became the most prolific and most widely celebrated painter of his time. At
age twenty six year old Raphael was called to Rome by Pope Julius II to embark on the major phase of
his career. Raphael did not approach painting as a series of solutions to technical problems of
representation. Instead, he made preliminary sketches many of them preserved

The Fundamental And Structural Principles Of The...
A constitution refers to a set of rules and guidelines intended to create both the fundamental and
structural principles of the government in a state or nation. A constitution is either written or
unwritten. On one hand, a written constitution is a formal document that defines the attributes or
characteristics of the constitutional settlement, the rules governing the political system and the roles
and responsibilities of the government and rights of citizens and inhabitants in a codified form
(Shamgar 345). On the other hand, an unwritten or uncodified constitution refers to a form of the
constitution where the essential rules of any nation s government are in the form of customs,
precedent, usage, and a range of statutes and legal instruments. Only three countries in the world have
an unwritten constitution. They include the United Kingdom, Israel, and New Zealand. Ordinarily, a
constitution is written following major political revolutions or reforms. For instance, the United States
of America wrote their constitution in 1787 following the Second World War. Germany and Japan also
wrote theirs at that time.
Written Constitution versus Unwritten Constitution
Traditionally, there were two main reasons why constitutions were essential. First, it offered an
explanation on the structure of the government and its roles and responsibilities. Second, governments
and citizens viewed a constitution as the pillar of liberal democracy. However, Heywood (2007)
argues that the two

How The Grinch Stole Christmas Research Paper
Dr. Seuss, written many books such as Green Eggs and Ham and How the Grinch Stole Christmas, has
portrayed many morals that can be understood. My favorite Dr. Seuss book is How the Grinch Stole
Christmas. It is my favorite book because it tells a tale about how the mischievous Grinch (who hates
Christmas) plots to steal Christmas from the Whos. At the end of the book the Grinch realizes that
there is more to Christmas then presents. It is also my favorite book because it teaches me that you
don t need presents to celebrate Christmas. You can still celebrate Christmas with or without presents.
My favorite character from any Dr. Seuss book is Cindy Lou Who from How the Grinch Stole
Christmas. She is my favorite character because she became friends

Theme Of Prejudice In 12 Angry Men
Back in 1957 MGM released a film directed by Sidney Lumet that is considered a masterpiece today
same as it was back then. There is a very good reason for that, this film has aged very well. It deals
with the same topics we have to deal with in today s society. Today it seems people are just as divided
as they were in the 50 s. That is what 12 Angry Men does so well, it handles the topic of prejudice.
How does it show this? 12 Angry Men shows us different jurors with different prejudices that are
revealed through their attitudes, beliefs, and words.
It is easy to spot prejudice through attitude because of the way they act around or talking about the
person or a community they have a prejudice about. Prejudice is an unjustified or incorrect attitude
(usually negative) towards an individual based solely on the individual s membership of a social group
(McLeod 1). In the film almost, everyone is ready to sentence an eighteen year old boy to death for
murder. Most do this just because of the evidence, but jurors three and ten have different attitudes
about the situation. Juror three has a different attitude because of his son and the relationship he
created there. He abused his son and now he has left him, the guilt he has is more than apparent
through his anger. Juror ten also shows anger and it is not apparent as to why until later when he starts
speaking.
The beliefs of the individual characters can say a lot about them because it reinforces their prejudices.

The Historical View of Privatization and Nationalization...
In the previous years ago, the word privatization was not well known same as today. Conversely, word
nationalization was popular at that time because of the government at that time owned all of the
important enterprises such as infrastructure businesses while private sector owned in the diminutive
enterprise which not important about the lifestyle of the people that illustrated the government had
more bargaining power than private sector. Almost people knew nationalization but did not know
about privatization. They had negative view point in privatization and thought the private sector could

Tigers Essay
Tigers are a fascinating, and endangered, animal. They develop fast, and go off on their own when
they re mature. Tigers live in various climates, and eat various things as well. They are very strong,
and have amazing energy. Not only are they magnificent to watch, but there are many interesting, and
not well known, facts about them.
Tiger cubs, at birth, are blind and cannot do anything for themselves. They only weigh about three or
four pounds, and are cared after until they mature. After the age of two, tiger cubs go off and fend for
themselves. An adult tiger weighs, on average, 420 pounds and can be nine feet long, and the adult

Tigers can swim for three miles without resting. They have also swam from island to island. Their roar
can also be heard from up to two miles away, and sometimes farther. Many people do not know some
of the amazing facts about tigers.
Tigers are the biggest member of the cat family, with lions coming in at a close second. Their paw
pads are very sensitive and are easily damaged, which prevents them from following prey that may
wonder on such things as rocks that are hot. Another interesting fact about the tiger is that there are no
white tigers left in the wild, only in captivity. On top of that, all of the white tigers in captivity came
from the same female, which was caught in 1952. White tigers are not true albinos because they lack
pink eyes; theirs are blue. Tigers and lions have actually mated in captivity. The offspring of a male
tiger and a female lion is called a Tigon, and offspring of a male lion and a female tiger is called a
Liger.
Tigers are getting more and more scarce. In the world today, there are about 12 Javan tigers still alive,
and less than 110 Siberian tigers. Their only needs in life are water, food, and shade, so this is
definitely not the cause of their near extinction. The number of tigers in the world is decreasing
because of hunters that like the fur. Tigers are rarely shot for attacking humans, for they

Against The Tide Summary
After reading the book Against The Tide by Cornelia Dean I think that the national policy for
governing developing coastlines should be dependent on an areas geologic features. In order to do
this, government officials would have to evaluate and create detailed reports to battle erosion in
specific areas rather than simply proposing a project that worked in a different place. In terms of
development, I think that if a project is going to be undertaken over a large area coastal geologists and
engineers should make small scale models of the region containing the planned infrastructure. After a
few years, the isolated small scale should be observed for long term effects so that they are known
before construction begins. Additionally, if the

Race and Racism
I chose to write about the racism that people in the United States are experiencing. The United States
has the world s largest economy in the world s gross domestic product and the United States makes up
to roughly about 17 to 22 percent of it. United States currency is the most widely used currency in
international trade, other countries such as British Virgin Islands, Ecuador, Panama, the Bahamas,
Turks and Caicos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Nicaragua and Belize use the US dollar as their own currency.
America is a mixed economy meaning that both private interests and state interventionism play a role
in it. Christianity is the largest religion which makes up about 70.6% and about 25.4% makeup

The Philippines have various cultures because it was colonized by different countries which
influenced most of the cultures. From what I experienced people in the Philippines are always open.
They always have a warm welcome whenever they meet new people, they are always open to making
new friends from what I have experienced. I think there is racism in the Philippines but I have never
seen it or I have not experienced it. The people I associated with are not racist, they were very open,
whenever there is someone that is not the same race. When it comes to families, our families treat each
other like relatives and we trust each other. I grew up with Filipino and a little bit of Portuguese
culture since my dad was Portuguese. I say that because there are some things we do differently and
how my dad acts or protects us. We had the opportunity to socialize with people in our neighborhoods,
we would always play outside like tagu taguan, agawan base, patintero and more. Tagu Taguan is a

Huck Finn Criticism
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, is a satire written by Mark Twain. The novel is based on the
series of adventures that the protagonist, Huckleberry Finn, and his companion a runaway slave
named Jim go on. In the novel, the protagonist, Huck Finn s mind is pulled in conflicting directions by
two compelling desires. The first time when Huck Finn is pulled in conflicting desires is when he
finds Miss Watson s runaway slave, Jim, at Jackson s Island. Huck knows that if he doesn t turn the
runaway slave in to his owner, People would call [him] a low down Abolitionist and despise (him) for
keeping mum. (Twain 43). Then later in the novel when he tries to write to Miss Watson that he knew
where Jim was, he doesn t because she d be mad and disgusted at his rascality and ungratefulness for
leaving her, and so she d sell him straight down the river again. (Twain 212). The conflict within Huck

affection for Jim are through he is challenging societal norms. When Huck tears up the letter when he
remembers the time Jim said that [he] was the best friend old Jim ever had in the world, and the only
one he s got now. (Twain 214) The second moment during the novel when Huck Finn is pulled in
conflicting desires is when he leaves the murderers alone at the shipwreck to die. When they overhear,

Analysis Of Truman s The Truman Show
The Truman Show is centred on a man made island called SeaHaven where a man named Truman
Burbank has been televised without his knowledge since birth. The show is a 24 hour live tv show
where every aspect of Truman s life is shown. As Truman grows older he begins to notice unsual
events that leads him to believe that there is something incongruent with what people are telling him
and what he experiences in his day to day life. As Truman begins to test the boundaries he realizes that
the town seems to revolve around him and his desire to escape comes to an all time high. Eventually
Truman begins on a journey to escape his virtual reality. Despite the boundaries that the director
throws at him he eventually escapes and will try to find his way in the real world. This movie made
me sympathize for Truman being that he has no privacy and is oblivious to his lack of freedom. This
movie shows how it is possible to create an ideal community and how New Urbanism can be created
and maintained.
New Urbanism essentially promotes an inclusive community that is close in proximity, which the
ccreator of the Truman Show creates. There is many positives that comes with New Urbanism most
being that all aspects of the city would be in walking distance which results in reduced cars and mixed
housing. New Urbanism brings on increased communication and interaction between individuals
which is facilitated by a city centre. Mumford writes about how a city is a theatre of social action (CR

The Value of Sacrifice
The value of sacrifice is not only just a committed dedication of interpretation to significance in
intentions. Sacrifice is what you present with the grant of administration from your eternally genuine
pneuma. Breathe the atmosphere of the unvarnished reality, have faithful accuracy within the devoted
charity! Seek the motivating force of the constant determination to prevailing tendency. The essence
of loss in the appraised ethics to the sacrificed abandonments, resigns to the over scrutinized light

responsibility, although have abdication to the moment the essence is finally in dependable freedom to
harmony, a psyche without inconvenience. Familiar sounds now have unpleasant connotation without
a distress signal inside presence. Have joyous recognition to an authentic truce, your deprivation in the
reduction to your surroundings seems like a disappearance in erosion, dusted to a mire soil of Earth.
That is never in truth, your love not only has continuous existence within your inner consciousness,
simply resolved tenderness to the internal nucleus in heartfelt, have allowance to your peripheral
spirit, to enjoy cherishing happiness as you know love inside is desirable for you to have involvement.
Sacrificing occasionally for numerous people can have frustration, whether being a broken wing of

Okonkwo as Classic Greek Hero in Things Fall Apart
A sense of foreboding envelops us from the first. We sense all will not end well for Umuofia. The chill
of fear grips us as the world of Okonkwo and his clan truly falls apart. Okonkwo will need all of his
power to fight the forces against his world, but tragically he is crippled by the most destructive malady
of all, fear of himself. Achebe employs the form of classical Greek tragedy to tell his African tale of

we understand the problem for the hero and his society change is coming, but the hatred of his father
and the resulting anger and fear have afflicted Okonkwo. His flaw will be his downfall in coping with
the changes to come.
Okonkwo fears for his disturbingly weak son, Nyowe, and teaches him with his stories masculine
stories of violence and bloodshed. (p. 53) But Nyowe prefers the stories of his mother stories which
teach wisdom rather than action. Nyowe knows that it pleases his father to listen to his stories, but it is
apparent that Nyowe is a thinking person. As Nyowe absorbs the shock of Ikemefuna s death, we feel
the first break in the solidarity of the clan. . Nyowe knew that Ikemefuna had been killed, and
something seemed to give way inside him, like the snapping of a tightened bow. (p. 61) Nyowe is
forming his own impressions of the rituals of his society.
We sense that the death of Ikemefuna has been a turning point in the story. The sense of foreboding
grows. We know the inevitability of disaster now; the crisis is developing. Okonkwo has ignored the
advice of Ezeudu, the wise man inserted in the tale in traditional Greek form. Although he was
warned, Okonkwo kills the boy to show his strength, his bravery,

Stump s Account Of Love
Love Sumps account of Love. Stump begins her discussion on the nature of love by firstly making it
known that she will be using Aquinas account. Stump is a notable Aquinas scholar and this is
important to know as she goes on to contrast his view with more contemporary ones. I will analyze her
arguments and discussions as to why she is correct in offering Aquinas account as the best that we
have available to us. I will mainly focus on her telling of Aquinas account of love and will contrast it
with what she writes about Kolodny s and the other accounts that she mentions in her chapter..
Stump begins by talking about the responsiveness account of love: On one account, love is a response
of the lover to qualities he perceives and values in the beloved. On this way of thinking about love,
there are intrinsic characteristics of the beloved person that are especially attractive to the lover, whose
love is engendered in him by these characteristics. So there is a reason for the love the lover has for
his beloved, and that is the set of characteristics that the lover finds so valuable in the beloved (Stump
86).
The intrinsic qualities that Stump mentions here are those that one person will value in the ... Show

nonrelational feature that she has. We see from this statement that is is suggested the Kolodny s reason
for loving someone has more to do with the relationship with the beloved. It is stated that relationship
is due to past encounters and interactions that fosters the love for someone. Kolodny offers his

Decision To Use The Atomic Bomb
The Decision To Use The Atomic Bomb The decision by Americans to use the atomic bomb in
Hiroshima and Nagasaki created a controversial debate that has refused to end. At the same time, it
has led to a hostile relationship between USA and Japan since atomic bombing took place in 1945.
Many people have been asking questions whether it was necessary to use the atomic bomb against
Japanese, especially after it led to massive loss of lives of innocent civilians. Another controversial
question is whether the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki led the end of WW II by forcing
Japan to surrender (Alperovitz 3). There are some people who support the action by America to use

Competitive advantage is the delivering of superior value to customers and, in doing so, earning an

Cathedral There are many themes in the short story Cathedral, some of them include the Cathedral
itself and the difference between looking at something and really seeing something. Throughout the
short story you see how people have different personalities and see how fast a person can change. The
Cathedral and the audiotapes mean much more to both main characters than just an object or a
building.
In the beginning of the story the narrator is completely disgusted at the thought of a blind man being
in his house because of all the false things he s heard about people who can t see. Peoples perceptions

This short story helps make people understand that there is always more to the world than you know
and there is always more to learn. Imagine if a complete stranger came into your life and changed all
your views on the world and had you rethink the way you ve been living your entire life. You, too,
would want to keep your eyes closed.
This theme is important because people go their entire lives looking but not really seeing. In the
beginning of the story, the blind man asks to see the wife s face, (blind peoples) sense of touch is no
keener than the average person s, but the more frequent use of touch enables them to more quickly and
efficiently analyze the things they touch (Bowles). As humans, we overlook the small things and
concentrate on the big and in doing so, we fail to realize that the little things are sometimes the hugely
important factors in life. This can also go along with not judging people right away; do not judge a
book by it s cover. Nowhere in the story does it describe how the narrator felt after the blind man drew
a Cathedral with him, but you can tell by the words he used that he had never felt more alive. He felt
like he was in an empty world and opening his eyes would only remind him of the nothingness he s
been living. The narrator says many things that makes it obvious that he is fully capable or looking but
that he does not see any solution to fixing his life. He is leading a boring life he hates with no

Chlamydia Is Among The Smallest Organisms Essay
Chlamydia is among the smallest organisms. Under a microscope, they are seen as obligate
intracellular parasites. One characteristic of Chlamydia is that they could not produce their own
energy which makes them completely dependent on the energy of their hosts (Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention, 2001).
Chlamydia undergoes two stages in its development, namely the elementary bodies and the reticulate
bodies. In its elementary stage, this organism meets its host and is taken up by phagocytosis which
thwarts the process of combination of the lysosome and phagosome. This microscopic event normally
kills pathogens. Once the formation of phagolysosome is stopped, the bacteria produce glycogen and
it then changes into the reticulate body. Reticulate bodies attain their energy by sending forth straw
like structures into the cell cytoplasm of their host. These bodies then are divided by binary fission. It
is estimated that for each phagolysosome about 100 1000 reticulate bodies are produced (Chlamydia
Trachomatis, n.d.).
Causes
Chlamydia infection is particularly caused by the bacteria known as Chlamydia trachomatis which in
turn causes cervicitis and bartholinitis in women and urethritis in men. It also causes extragenital
infections which include rectal and oropharyngeal infections (World Health Organization, 2016). As a
form of sexually transmitted infection, an individual may get infected through sexual contact vaginal,

The Aftermath Of Colonial Rule On Sub Saharan Africans
The aftermath of colonial rule on Sub saharan Africans has been debilitating. It is present in the
statistics, cultural changes, politics, and the historical unrest in the post colonial state. European
colonists concentrated on the export of Africa s resources, production of cash crops, and profit gained
by displacement of ethnic groups, with no focus on African development. In fact, the complete
disregard for African nations lead to modern day dependency on foreign economy, hindering Africa
even in its emerging independence. W.O. Maloba explains, Economically, colonialism had linked
Africa tightly to the world capitalist system dominated by Europe and later the USA. African
countries, it needs to be repeated, produced raw materials and imported selected manufactured goods
each largely determined by Colonial Capitalism (Decolonization 8). Post colonization did not lead to
complete independence for many countries, including Kenya, but a new form from within:
Neocolonialism, which carries the power of colonialism under Kenyan rule. On independence and
exploitation, Maloba continues, the inherited economical institutions in many countries do not have
the capacity to lead to sustained growth development. They were established to exploit and not
develop these countries (Decolonization 13). Colonialism, though short lived, entrenched Africa into
underdevelopment.
There is an almost tangible link between the economic underdevelopment of Africa and the political

Narcissistic View of Nora and Grandmother Narcissism is defined as the love of ones self. Sigmund
Freud was the first to use the word to characterize certain character traits. He got the word from the
Greek mythological legend Narcissus who saw his reflection in water and fell in love with himself.
Freud suggests that all of us have a bit of self love, but when self love goes extreme it can be a
problem and is considered a pathological problem. Nora from The Doll House, only exuded
narcissistic behavior because she was treated like a doll. She was spoiled and only thought that that
was how she was supposed to behave in order to get what she wanted or to please the men in her ...

The children convince their father to take the turn that supposedly leads to this house. Unfortunately it
ends up being the road to hell.
The long dusty dirt road ends up being the ill fated end to all their lives thanks to the grandmother. A
criminal that is on the loose happens along the dirt road. He has his cronies take each family member
into the forest and kills them. The entire time this is happening, the grandmother is trying to talk to
him out of killing them by being nice to him and trying to convince him that he is really a good man.
Instead of grieving for the death of her family, she tries to talk him out of killing her. She even tries to
buy her own life. She seemed to care more for herself than her family. If she cared more for them, she
would have offered more for their lives. At the very end of the story it seems the misfit got to know
the grandmother very well in those few moments he spent with her. He said, She would have been a
good woman if it had been somebody there to shoot her every minute of her life.

10 Important Criteria to Choose a Pc
1. Processor (CPU)
Processor refers to CPU (Central Processing Unit) which is the brains of the computer where most
calculations take place. In terms of computing power, processor is the most important element of a
computer system. Without it, a computer cannot even boot up or running. The performance of
processors determines the speed and the performance of the notebook as well. Whether a computer
system can run smooth or not is also depend on the performance of processor.
Most of the processors of notebooks can be divided into two types, which are Intel based and AMD
based. AMD chips usually less expensive and notebooks based on them are cheaper then Intel based
notebooks. But compared to AMD chips, Intel chips consume less power so ... Show more content on

This will let us know what upgrade potential the system has. Then, we need to look at the ways in
which you intent to use your laptop in order to determine the right amount of system memory, or
RAM needed. If you only need your laptop to perform the usual tasks of emailing, typing on word
processing, spreadsheets, etc. then a standard RAM of 256MB should be enough, which is a common
configuration on most laptops, hence you probably won t need to spend more for more RAM.
However, for storing digital photographs and videos or other multimedia contents, you should equip
your laptop with as much RAM as it can accommodate. Certainly the more memory in a notebook
system the better, but there are other concerns regarding memory in notebooks. Notebooks are
generally more restricted in the amount of memory that can be installed into a system.
The rule of thumb that use for all computer systems for determining if it has enough memory is to
look at the requirements of the software intended to run. Pick up the boxes for each of the applications
and the OS that you intend to run and look at both the minimum and recommended requirements.
Typically you want to have more RAM than the highest minimum and ideally at least as much as the
highest listed recommended requirement.
It is best to check the requirements of the intended software to make the final decisions. This is not
accurate for all computer tasks because some operating systems use more memory than others.

Communication Problems At The Workplace
Introduction

Introduction
Communication problems in the workplace can cost your company productivity and money. Without
efficient communication, your company is unable to exchange information essential to daily
operations and create a communication network..... (Root, n.d.). When you think about
communication in the workplace, as an employee you may not think about what poor communication
can cost the organization you work for. But it not only affects the productivity of the organization it
can be the downfall of the organization. Without effective communication it is impossible for the
organization to run smoothly and in turn be productive with their customers. So in the end ineffective
communication can cause the company to completely fail in providing the environment necessary for
the clientele. In this paper I will analyze the communication issues and more specifically the top four
issues that were prevalent in every organization I worked in as a nurse. I will also go into detail about
those four issues and then at the end I will talk about what I would do as a leader to correct them.
Analysis of the Communication Issues
When thinking back on the organizations I have worked for, I would have to say that there is one thing
that stood out the most to me and that was issues with communication.

Cardiac Arrest Analysis
Approximately three hundred thousand cardiac arrests occur annually in the United States, making it
one of the leading causes of death nationally (1). Pulseless electrical activity (PEA) is one of the most
common forms of cardiac arrest and is generally associated with poor patient outcomes. It has been
widely theorized that a focused cardiac ultrasound exam (FoCUS) can play both a diagnostic and a
prognostic role during PEA cardiac arrest; however, it has not been adequately studied to date. This
paper explores the theory and current evidence supporting the utilization of a FoCUS exam during
cardiac arrest presenting with PEA in order to recognize its potential role in resuscitative guidelines.

The Importance Of Reading In Education
The United States is increasingly becoming a nation of nonreaders. In 2013, it was reported that 32
million adults, 14 percent of our population, could not read. Twenty one percent of the adults that
same year read below a fifth grade level. Additionally, nineteen percent of the high school graduates
could not read (Maddie Crum. The U.S. Illiteracy Rate Hasn t Changed In 10 Years. The Huffington
Post). This is alarming in a wealthy country like the United States. Our society will suffer from
illiteracy in socioeconomic issues if we continue to abandon reading in future years. If we continue to
neglect reading as a nation the literacy rate of children will decrease. Due to many parents having
reading difficulties themselves, they do not read to their kids at a young age. Often these parents do
not encourage reading. According to the U.S Department of Education, when there is a low amount of
parent support at home the classroom reading score is below the national average by 46 points. When
there is a high amount of parental support at home the classroom reading score is above the national
average by 28 points (NEA Facts about Children s Literacy ). Children with low parental support
come to school behind their classmates who experienced reading at a young age. When parents read to
their children they learn early reading skills, such as reading from left to right, the meaning of words,
and it increases their vocabulary. Children who come to school already behind

Reading On Reading Disabilities And Dyslexia
Everyone faces day to day challenges that can limit him or her in many different ways. Some struggles
are easier to overcome than others, especially if the struggle is concentrated in one particular area. Yet,
those who struggle with reading disabilities in general, including dyslexia may not have the easiest
time overcoming it. Not being able to read may lead to other issues with spelling, grammar, and
general comprehension of material. This literature review will be covering many previous done studies
that focus on reading disabilities and dyslexia. Through examining this literature it should give some
answer to my overall thesis, which is how is dyslexia connected to reading disabilities and what can
be done to help those who are struggling.
Reading Disabilities One of the first questions that should be answered is what is the definition of a
reading disability. One of the books shares the following; A reading disability exists where there is a
significant discrepancy between reading ability and intellectual potential (Roswell and Natchez 1964:
2). This is not the only definition and has been shared that, The lack of specificity in the definition of
learning disability has created considerable confusion [...] (Cornwall and Bawden 1992: 281).
Knowing that not one definition fits this topic can help better understand how each piece of literature
varies. How one is able to evaluate if someone has a reading disability is important in aiding what help

Funeral Procession
In the article Death in Motion: Funeral Processions in the Forum Romanum authors Diane Favro and
Christopher Johanson fully and creatively discuss funeral processions in Rome with the earliest
funeral parade being from the middle republican period and the latter two being during the imperial
period. The interesting aspect the authors manage to incorporate into their writing is not only the fact
that they took multiple interpretation into account for certain funeral processions, but also that they
showed multiple diagrams of the funerary routes, and 3d imaging of certain spaces that shed light on
the different views spectators might have had, and whether these views would be rational for what the
procession was trying to convey. These 3d diagrams ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The funerary processions of the Middle republic discussed here are from 183 BCE to 145 BCE the
importance of these dates to me is that the Third Macedonian wars are occurring at this time from 171
to 168 BCE, and as we know Octavius is victorious in a naval battle and builds the Porticus Octavia as
triumphal symbol of his title of imperator essentially marking the beginning of the end of the republic.
The first precedent discussed were the funerals of the Cornelii, and an important distinction of the
Cornelii compared to previous funerary processions was that they made a stop at the Capitoline Hill to
get an the wax mask of Scipio Africanus. This extra stop is important because it not only lengthened
the procession allowing for a larger crowd to gather, it also it emphasized a sequence notable
buildings, art, and urban features that by the participants sequence of views for those gathering at the
Forum. This is important in understanding the Hellenization of Rome because during the Imperial
period funerary processions emulate certain features of their predecessors superficially while trying to
legitimize imperial power. During the Imperial period objects from the Republic remained visible,
every building, painting, etc. was now imprinted

  • 3. The Fundamental And Structural Principles Of The... A constitution refers to a set of rules and guidelines intended to create both the fundamental and structural principles of the government in a state or nation. A constitution is either written or unwritten. On one hand, a written constitution is a formal document that defines the attributes or characteristics of the constitutional settlement, the rules governing the political system and the roles and responsibilities of the government and rights of citizens and inhabitants in a codified form (Shamgar 345). On the other hand, an unwritten or uncodified constitution refers to a form of the constitution where the essential rules of any nation s government are in the form of customs, precedent, usage, and a range of statutes and legal instruments. Only three countries in the world have an unwritten constitution. They include the United Kingdom, Israel, and New Zealand. Ordinarily, a constitution is written following major political revolutions or reforms. For instance, the United States of America wrote their constitution in 1787 following the Second World War. Germany and Japan also wrote theirs at that time. Written Constitution versus Unwritten Constitution Traditionally, there were two main reasons why constitutions were essential. First, it offered an explanation on the structure of the government and its roles and responsibilities. Second, governments and citizens viewed a constitution as the pillar of liberal democracy. • 5. Theme Of Prejudice In 12 Angry Men Back in 1957 MGM released a film directed by Sidney Lumet that is considered a masterpiece today same as it was back then. There is a very good reason for that, this film has aged very well. It deals with the same topics we have to deal with in today s society. Today it seems people are just as divided as they were in the 50 s. That is what 12 Angry Men does so well, it handles the topic of prejudice. How does it show this? 12 Angry Men shows us different jurors with different prejudices that are revealed through their attitudes, beliefs, and words. It is easy to spot prejudice through attitude because of the way they act around or talking about the person or a community they have a prejudice about. Prejudice is an unjustified or incorrect attitude (usually negative) towards an individual based solely on the individual s membership of a social group (McLeod 1). In the film almost, everyone is ready to sentence an eighteen year old boy to death for murder. Most do this just because of the evidence, but jurors three and ten have different attitudes about the situation. Juror three has a different attitude because of his son and the relationship he created there. He abused his son and now he has left him, the guilt he has is more than apparent through his anger. Juror ten also shows anger and it is not apparent as to why until later when he starts speaking. The beliefs of the individual characters can say a lot about them because it reinforces their prejudices. Juror ten ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In order to do this, government officials would have to evaluate and create detailed reports to battle erosion in specific areas rather than simply proposing a project that worked in a different place. In terms of development, I think that if a project is going to be undertaken over a large area coastal geologists and engineers should make small scale models of the region containing the planned infrastructure. On this way of thinking about love, there are intrinsic characteristics of the beloved person that are especially attractive to the lover, whose love is engendered in him by these characteristics. • 20. Chlamydia Is Among The Smallest Organisms Essay Chlamydia is among the smallest organisms. Under a microscope, they are seen as obligate intracellular parasites. One characteristic of Chlamydia is that they could not produce their own energy which makes them completely dependent on the energy of their hosts (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2001). Chlamydia undergoes two stages in its development, namely the elementary bodies and the reticulate bodies. In its elementary stage, this organism meets its host and is taken up by phagocytosis which thwarts the process of combination of the lysosome and phagosome. This microscopic event normally kills pathogens. Once the formation of phagolysosome is stopped, the bacteria produce glycogen and it then changes into the reticulate body. Reticulate bodies attain their energy by sending forth straw like structures into the cell cytoplasm of their host. These bodies then are divided by binary fission. It is estimated that for each phagolysosome about 100 1000 reticulate bodies are produced (Chlamydia Trachomatis, n.d.). Causes Chlamydia infection is particularly caused by the bacteria known as Chlamydia trachomatis which in turn causes cervicitis and bartholinitis in women and urethritis in men. It also causes extragenital infections which include rectal and oropharyngeal infections (World Health Organization, 2016). European colonists concentrated on the export of Africa s resources, production of cash crops, and profit gained by displacement of ethnic groups, with no focus on African development. In fact, the complete disregard for African nations lead to modern day dependency on foreign economy, hindering Africa even in its emerging independence. W.O. African countries, it needs to be repeated, produced raw materials and imported selected manufactured goods each largely determined by Colonial Capitalism (Decolonization 8). Post colonization did not lead to complete independence for many countries, including Kenya, but a new form from within: Neocolonialism, which carries the power of colonialism under Kenyan rule. On independence and exploitation, Maloba continues, the inherited economical institutions in many countries do not have the capacity to lead to sustained growth development. If you only need your laptop to perform the usual tasks of emailing, typing on word processing, spreadsheets, etc. then a standard RAM of 256MB should be enough, which is a common configuration on most laptops, hence you probably won t need to spend more for more RAM. However, for storing digital photographs and videos or other multimedia contents, you should equip your laptop with as much RAM as it can accommodate. Certainly the more memory in a notebook system the better, but there are other concerns regarding memory in notebooks. Notebooks are generally more restricted in the amount of memory that can be installed into a system. The rule of thumb that use for all computer systems for determining if it has enough memory is to look at the requirements of the software intended to run. Pick up the boxes for each of the applications and the OS that you intend to run and look at both the minimum and recommended requirements. In this paper I will analyze the communication issues and more specifically the top four issues that were prevalent in every organization I worked in as a nurse. I will also go into detail about those four issues and then at the end I will talk about what I would do as a leader to correct them. Pulseless electrical activity (PEA) is one of the most common forms of cardiac arrest and is generally associated with poor patient outcomes. • 30. The Importance Of Reading In Education The United States is increasingly becoming a nation of nonreaders. In 2013, it was reported that 32 million adults, 14 percent of our population, could not read. Twenty one percent of the adults that same year read below a fifth grade level. Additionally, nineteen percent of the high school graduates could not read (Maddie Crum. The U.S. Illiteracy Rate Hasn t Changed In 10 Years. The Huffington Post). This is alarming in a wealthy country like the United States. Our society will suffer from illiteracy in socioeconomic issues if we continue to abandon reading in future years. If we continue to neglect reading as a nation the literacy rate of children will decrease. Due to many parents having reading difficulties themselves, they do not read to their kids at a young age. Often these parents do not encourage reading. According to the U.S Department of Education, when there is a low amount of parent support at home the classroom reading score is below the national average by 46 points. When there is a high amount of parental support at home the classroom reading score is above the national average by 28 points (NEA Facts about Children s Literacy ). Children with low parental support come to school behind their classmates who experienced reading at a young age. When parents read to their children they learn early reading skills, such as reading from left to right, the meaning of words, and it increases their vocabulary. Some struggles are easier to overcome than others, especially if the struggle is concentrated in one particular area. Yet, those who struggle with reading disabilities in general, including dyslexia may not have the easiest time overcoming it. Not being able to read may lead to other issues with spelling, grammar, and general comprehension of material. This literature review will be covering many previous done studies that focus on reading disabilities and dyslexia. Through examining this literature it should give some answer to my overall thesis, which is how is dyslexia connected to reading disabilities and what can be done to help those who are struggling. Reading Disabilities One of the first questions that should be answered is what is the definition of a reading disability. One of the books shares the following; A reading disability exists where there is a significant discrepancy between reading ability and intellectual potential (Roswell and Natchez 1964: 2). This is not the only definition and has been shared that, The lack of specificity in the definition of learning disability has created considerable confusion [...] (Cornwall and Bawden 1992: 281). Knowing that not one definition fits this topic can help better understand how each piece of literature varies. How one is able to evaluate if someone has a reading disability is important in aiding what help can be given to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Funeral Procession In the article Death in Motion: Funeral Processions in the Forum Romanum authors Diane Favro and Christopher Johanson fully and creatively discuss funeral processions in Rome with the earliest funeral parade being from the middle republican period and the latter two being during the imperial period. The interesting aspect the authors manage to incorporate into their writing is not only the fact that they took multiple interpretation into account for certain funeral processions, but also that they showed multiple diagrams of the funerary routes, and 3d imaging of certain spaces that shed light on the different views spectators might have had, and whether these views would be rational for what the procession was trying to convey. These 3d diagrams ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The funerary processions of the Middle republic discussed here are from 183 BCE to 145 BCE the importance of these dates to me is that the Third Macedonian wars are occurring at this time from 171 to 168 BCE, and as we know Octavius is victorious in a naval battle and builds the Porticus Octavia as triumphal symbol of his title of imperator essentially marking the beginning of the end of the republic. The first precedent discussed were the funerals of the Cornelii, and an important distinction of the Cornelii compared to previous funerary processions was that they made a stop at the Capitoline Hill to get an the wax mask of Scipio Africanus. This extra stop is important because it not only lengthened the procession allowing for a larger crowd to gather, it also it emphasized a sequence notable buildings, art, and urban features that by the participants sequence of views for those gathering at the Forum. This is important in understanding the Hellenization of Rome because during the Imperial period funerary processions emulate certain features of their predecessors superficially while trying to legitimize imperial power. During the Imperial period objects from the Republic remained visible, every building, painting, etc. was now imprinted ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
