Coca Cola Mission Statement Essay
Introduction A mission statement is a crucial aspect in any type of organization. It acts as a guide to
the commitment and actions of the employees and the management towards the achievement of the set
organizational goals (Petrulis 27). It is crucial as it defines the type of the business, goods and services
as well as the clients. An effective mission statement helps in defining the aim of the business, goals
and objectives as well as the strategies relied upon to achieve it. Ideally, it should be an idea, which
runs through all departments in an organization. It helps in influencing the actions of the managers at
all levels. It acts as a force that leads to long term and short term goals of an organization
(MacNamara 20). Furthermore, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The company s vision statement is a roadmap to double the global systems revenue in a period of 10
years by focusing on the six key areas. These are; profit, productivity, people, partners, portfolio and
planet (Krell, 27). In the vision, the company talks of the clients, products self concept, public image,
philosophy and the employees, which are good aspects that should be included in a mission statement
for it to be comprehensive and of good standard (Soar, 34). However, in this mission statement, the
company does not mention any item to do with leadership, quality, integrity, accountability,
collaboration, passion as well as diversion. These are critical elements that should be considered in the
mission statement, but the Coca Cola Company has mentioned none of them in it its statement
(Petrulis, 28). This is a clear indicator that the mission statement of Coca Cola Company is
insufficient. Hence, the company should rather rely on its vision statement in place of its mission
statement and by doing so would have some values listed above to make it effective. It is by their
inclusion that a company can be able to communicate its mission for being what it is to all its
stakeholders in one statement (Soar,

Allies To The NAACP
The NAACP has a number of allies, and also opponents. Some examples of allies would include the
Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF), the National Organization for
Women (NOW), and the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, because they each represent minority
factions of society that have traditionally faced discrimination ( Types of Interest Groups ). Other
allied groups would be the American Civil Liberties Union and other liberal organizations that are
dedicated to equality under the law. Some public interest groups may also be allies to the NAACP, as
improved societal equality aids the common good of the people. Working with this variety of groups
can provide the NAACP with a great deal of benefits. More voices

Heteronormativity Essay
Heteronormativity has not accepted the fact that there is no need to be a heterosexual couple to engage
in sexual or romantic activities or that there is no need to be born with the right genre. This negation
has had a negative impact in lives of people who identify themselves in a distinct manner from the
ones that are considered normal . One of the most important consequences that this assumption can be
found in mental health. An example of this was shown by Todd (as cited by Wilchins, 1997) trans
identity is not a natural fact. Rather, it is the political category we are forced to occupy when we do
certain things with our bodies. That so many of us try to take our own lives, mutilate ourselves, or just
succeed in dying quietly of shame, depression, or loneliness is not an accident. We are supposed to
feel isolated and desperate. Outcast. That is the whole point of the system. Our feelings are not causes
but effects. (p33) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, there are some people who defend the idea that mental illnesses or problems related to the
mind are not merely delineated by how society treats you, but it is a correlation between phenotypical
and genotypical features potentiated by the context a person is born and the life history of the last
one.Even though this argument could be supported by scientific evidence, this does not rest
importance to the fact that heteronomativity has a huge influence on how a person perceives himself
and faces the world because of how this belief is tightly woven in society. To conclude, one of the
ways in which this standard affects people is by rejecting them causing further problems because this
makes people feel as outcasts and has an impact in their psychological

Castiglia And The Luciano Crime Family
Notorious mobster Frank the Prime Minister Costello headed the Luciano crime family, the most
powerful crime family in New York, from the mid 1930s until 1957. Francesco Castiglia was born in
Calabria, Italy in 1891. Arriving in New York City at the age of four with his immigrant parents,
Costello grew up in East Harlem. By age 13 he had become a member of the 104th street gang. They
were a group of young Italian hoodlums. He was eventually made head of the gang. In 1915 he went
to prison for a year for carrying a concealed weapon. On release Costello allied himself with Charles
Lucky Luciano. He abstained from using violence as a road to success and wealth, Costello claimed
that he never again carried a gun. In the 1920s they branched

W. H. Auden Physically Bound
Physically Bound Critique of Musee Des Beaux Arts Central Theme W.H. Auden has one of the
biggest names in poetry for the twentieth century. He wrote countless of poems, each being relatable
and readable. One of his shining examples of his work is summed up into one brilliant writing, Musee
Des Beaux Arts. This poem covers all grounds in the most simple way you could understand, yet also
in the most complex. There is no area he lacks in and always impresses with the diversity that one
writing of his can cover. Not only does he emotionally tie you into the poem, but he also gives
spiritual insight and expresses political views. The background of this story happens to be the bitter
subject of war, which seems to be contradicting. Yet, he somehow is able to perceive war through his
art efficiently. The inspiration of this poem comes from not only war, but mainly from a painting that
shows the downfall of Icarus. He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet, I think that even more proves his point. That humans are just so instinctive without really thinking
things through that we miss more than we could ever imagine. The decision to literally not be aware of
our surroundings is more harmful than we would like to admit. Another yet poor choice is shown in
lines 18 20, the expensive ship... had somewhere to go. Proving that even if the ship was aware or not
of Icarus s fall it did not care enough to stop. The ship was either shamefully oblivious to what was
happening right next to it or it cruelly made the decision to not care regardless. The painful light of
human s actions is executed simply through Auden s interpretation of the painting in the museum. It is
clear that Auden believes we are too passive and poor with the power we hold. With fair judgement, I
agree the painting along with the poem makes sense that most would like to keep quiet about. Yet
another one of our many flaws, change can be good as long as we want it to

A Cochlear Implant Is An Electronic Device That Substitutes
A Cochlear Implant is an electronic device that substitutes the damaged part of the inner ear to send
signals to the brain. It is used by profoundly deaf or severely deaf people. The first Cochlear Implant
was invented in the year of 1961 by Dr. William F. House. He was an american otologist, medical
researcher, and physician, born December 1st, 1923 died December 7th, 2012. Dr. William F. House
started the process of developing the Cochlear Implant during the late 1950s, after obtaining
knowledge of other experiments going on. He decided to put his focus on ear, nose, throat and later
decided to focus strictly on the ear when parents brought him two young kids they believed were deaf.
Dr. House performed the first Cochlear Implant surgery ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Secondly the sound processor forwards the codes to what s called the coil on the outside to the
implant. After that the implant changes the code into electrical pulses and sends them out through the
nerves. Lastly the cochlear nerve is stimulated and it sends out waves to the brain that are interpreted
as sound. Over time the cochlear implant has had technology advances as well as the size becoming
smaller and easier for deaf people to use. This surgical implant has both its benefits and disadvantages
for the deaf. One of the benefits of the Cochlear Implant is the hearing improvement, people with
them have the ability to interact more from hearing conversations, makes it to where less effort is
needed to understand others. It also helps children in school, present and future. The overall benefit
for everyone is they ll be able to adventure out more and it keeps them safer being able to hear. The
downside of the implant is how expensive the process is, and how many people have to pass up the
opportunity because of the cost. Another is that the sounds can be hurtful at first to the person and
adjusting could take time. The procedure for the Cochlear Implant is a disadvantage as well because of
the risk that all surgical procedures have, and the damage that could happen to the ear itself or face.
The deaf community s feelings about the Cochlear Implant is controversial, some believe that if one is
born deaf then that s what they

What Are The Cause And Effects Of Divorce
Today in modern society, divorce is becoming more normal than ever. Statistically speaking, over
forty five percent of all marriages end in divorce. Divorce defined by Webster as the action or an
instance of legally dissolving a marriage [1]. The word divorce can be used to describe both a cause
and an effect. A few causes of divorce could include lack of communication, financial distress, and
sexual indiscretion. These are just a few of the most common causes of divorce. The effects a divorce
seems almost incomparable when considering the hardship it causes on both people in the relationship.
One major cause of divorce is the lack of communication. Many marriages end up in divorce because
of the neglect to communicate respectfully. Communication is the key within any relationship, not just
marital relationships Many couples lack the proper communication when it comes to the critical
decision making process. Respectful talking is essential in good communication, and at the same time
respectful listening is also vital. In most marriages, there is always a ... Show more content on

We know lack of money plays a big role in society, but what kind of role does it play in marriage.
Many couples in a marriage want to blame money as the main cause of divorce. In fact, the statistics
of a survey conducted by United States Census Bureau on divorce in North America suggested that
more than fifty percent of divorced couples cited financial issues as their main cause of their divorce.
Sometimes a relationship does not work out because the two people involved have different spending
habits. This can be referred to as financial incompatibility. Divorce does not always help solve
financial problems. Instead, the divorce itself must be paid for and both people must now set up their
own individual household and pay for separate rent and utilities instead of splitting

Job Shadowing a Dentist

Everybody has experienced the roaring pain in the back of his or her mouth at one point in their lives.
It is the ache that doesn t seem to go away no matter how careful one might be. At this moment, a
person knows that he or she needs help to terminate the throbbing that has literally taken over the
entirety of their mouth. They need a dentist to stop the anguish. Luckily, dentistry offices are located
in almost all communities throughout the nation which makes it more convenient for someone to go

More money means more work!
There are many different areas in the field of dentistry; a DDS is the main dentistry accomplishment
for an everyday practitioner, however, many choose to step above the normal and become something
greater. Other fields, such as Orthodontics, Periodontists, Oral pathologists, and Pedodontists are
another big step on the dentistry ladder. To accomplish each of these degrees, a person must go back to
school for at least two more years. It is fantastic to think about all of the opportunity that can come to
a person for taking that extra step. Unfortunately, though, a very low percentage of DDS actually go
the extra step to making more money and this is because after going to school for eight extra years of
their lives, who wouldn t want to be content? For this reason, the normal practitioner s increases in
salary will come from raising their fees and/or passing on rising costs to the consumer (Description
Para 11).
The job outlook is good for the dentistry profession because there will always be people who have
teeth that need to be looked at and there will always be a need for people who can skillfully work
inside one s mouth. The pay is also very good according to Reilender who states that one may earn up
to $100,000 starting out as a practitioner (11). Once a person is well into his or her career, he or she

The study analyses five case studies in early years settings, focusing on one child identified with
special educational needs. The sampling aimed to choose outstanding early years provisions graded by
Ofsted. In my opinion, it would have been more interesting to include settings with some lower
grades, to look at the matter from different perspectives. Disappointingly, the authors have not
included a school nursery and only results from three out of five case studies were discussed in the
final analysis. They did not also explain how the sample of 3 settings was selected. Although the
authors identified the research methodology, they did not also include any associated limitations of the
research design, regarding time limit or sample size. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Deep Brain Stimulation Implantation ( Shin ) Implantation
Deep Brain Stimulation Implantation
Deep brain stimulation (DBS) implantation is a procedure to insert a wire (lead) into one or both sides
of the brain in order to deliver electrical currents to an area causing problems. The lead is attached to a
power source that is implanted under the skin near the collarbone, chest, or abdomen. This procedure
may be done to treat various medical conditions, such as Parkinson disease, essential tremor, and other
neurological conditions that cannot be controlled with medicines.
Once implanted, the device can be used 24 hours per day. The intensity and frequency of the pulses
are programmed for each individual and can be adjusted.
The DBS device has three parts:
A lead. This is a thin wire. It goes through one or two small openings in your skull. It delivers the
electrical pulse.
A power source. This is called the neurotransmitter. It is usually placed under the skin in the upper
part of your collarbone, chest, or abdomen, similar to how a heart pacemaker is inserted. It is powered
by a long lasting battery.
An extension. This is a wire that connects the lead to the power source. The extension is passed under
the skin of your head and neck and down to the power source.

Abstract
E mail: shilisun@hotmail.com
As one of the key stable factors , culture within an organization is playing a critical role in the
organization s everyday operations. Although the culture literature has at times focused on the culture
of an organization as shared basic assumptions (Schein, 1985), or as metaphors within organizations
(Morgan, 1986, 1997), it is not sufficient to attempt to understand and measure them. This paper

Whereas Hofstede (1984) wrote of the collective programming of the mind which distinguishes the
members of one human group from another as the meaning of the term organizational culture, which
seems an interesting way of understanding the notion, and despite he discovered four areas of work
related value differences at that time (power distance; uncertainty avoidance;
individualism/collectivism; masculinity/femininity), however, in 1992, Hofstede used the term
practices to refer to social and cultural phenomena, and in Hofstede s perspective, it is quite important
to locate the deeply held values of organization members at the very center of the organization s
culture. In reality, for some organization members, these values will be so deeply held that they will
not be possible to change at all. However, how we choose to define culture has considerable
implications for how we attempt to examine and study it, different authorities in the literature has
introduced different interpretations. In practice, no matter what size or nature it is, an organization
might have its own culture

Hurricane Impact On Tropical And Subtropical Waters
A hurricane is referred to a storm that forms over tropical and subtropical waters. Hurricanes have the
power to destroy life and property. Hurricanes are referred to as Typhoons in the Western Pacific and
Cyclones in Southeast Asia. On average, the Hurricane Season begins on June 1 and ends on
November 30. A Hurricane s intensity is measured on the Saffir Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. A
storm is classified as a hurricane when its wind speed goes above 74 mph (NOAA 2014). A hurricane
is classified on a 1 to 5 category, based on its maximum wind speed. The higher the category, the
greater the hurricane is potential for damage.
A hurricane forms over warm waters near the equator. A hurricane goes through four stages of
development from a disturbance to a hurricane. The first stage is known as Tropical Disturbance.
Tropical Disturbance is a weak storm over tropical waters, containing mild winds, clouds, and
precipitation. The second stage is known as a Tropical Depression. A Tropical Depression is formed
when a group of thunderstorms comes together to produce circular wind flow. A Tropical Depression
flows with maximum sustained winds below 39 mph (NASA 2015). The third stage in hurricane
formation is known as a Tropical Storm. A Tropical Storm forms when a tropical depression s cyclonic
circulation becomes more organized and produces winds up to 73 mph. The fourth and final step of
hurricane formation is the hurricane itself. A tropical storm becomes a hurricane as

Example Of Irreversible Inequality
Irreversible Inequality In this paper I will be explaining why social inequality is irreversible. A large
part of this is due to social structure (forces outside our control), agency (our choices), and
structuration (the way the previous two work together to shape our lives). This aspect of social
inequality will be dove into deeper in the next paragraph, discussing how it shapes our views of
societal norms. Next, I will discuss social inequality specifically in race and gender and how it will not
be able to be reversed. Using Karl Marx s Conflict Theory, I will point out the flaws in believing that
society can reverse social inequality. By using multiple examples of social inequality through history,
research, and present day, it will become clear that social inequality is irreversible. Structure, agency,
and structuration play a significant role in social inequality. Social structure are things that are outside
a person s control, but still affect the person. Agency is the actions of individuals and each person s
choices. Structuration is referring to how each person s life is shaped by uncontrollable influences,
structure, and by their own choices, agency. An example of social structure affecting agency would be
growing up in a poor neighborhood effecting what kind of education you receive. Poorer
neighborhoods typically have a lower quality school, resulting in a lower quality education. In every
society, there is a cultural norm, or an expected right behavior. When

The Great Depression And The New Deal Essay
The late 1930s were a time of great suffering and uncertainty in the United States. The country was
crippled by effects of the Great Depression; the result was a massive decline in jobs and economic
stability that dramatically impacted both rural and urban communities. Millions of Americans were
out of work, unable to support their families. State organizations and charities were unable to meet the
growing needs of the people and many were left to fend for themselves. The Great Depression brought
with it a legitimate, tangible fear about the future of America and its citizens. Upon the outcry of the
American people a New Deal was struck giving the citizens of America a lifeline of hope in the ever
growing State. The New Deal was a succession of programs, organizations and laws, enacted by
President Franklin D. Roosevelt, directly addressing the issues of jobs, welfare and uncertainty
through direct federal involvement. The creators of the New Deal worked across party lines to reshape
the norms of state involvement whilst making a great legislative effort to turn the declining economy
around. The New Deal reshaped the federal government s relationship with its citizens in a time of
economic uncertainty helping to grow the State in a time of peace. The state is best understood in
relation to a government s power, influence and involvement with citizens rights in a given territory.
The larger the state the more involved it is in the lives of its citizens.

Theme Of Miss Julie
Miss Julie has two subordinates, a daughter of the Count and a servant who are subject to each other s
authority. Miss Julie and Jean differs in terms of class and in terms of morality. In terms of class, Miss
Julie is superior compared Jean since Miss Julie is a daughter of the Count while Jean is only a servant

fact that Miss Julie had miserable experience in her love life. She was not able to achieve being a

which forces her partner to leave her and resulted their separation.

Currently In Healthcare, There Are Many Large And Impactful
Currently in healthcare, there are many large and impactful demographic groups under the
microscope. These groups have the potential to shift and shape the way health and healthcare are
practiced based on the way the groups engage in their health. Health professionals are very interested
in how patients young and old, rich and poor, educated and uneducated, insured and uninsured are
interacting and engaging. By researching and observing how these traits affect an individual or group s

this group is generally higher educated, more focused on groups, communities, and teams rather than
themselves, and in general the group is accepting of diversity and views all people as equal. These
busy individuals are often over stimulated by the amount of work and extracurriculars that they take
on. Howe and Strauss also observed seven core traits of this demographic group which has the
potential to have an effect on the way this group views themselves and the way they are viewed by
others. These traits are that they are special, sheltered, confident, team oriented, conventional,
pressured, and achieving (Strauss Howe, 2003). Each of these characteristics affects the way that this
group engages in the world around them. These traits follow them through education, work, and
especially healthcare, with regard to current engagement and how they will engage in the future.

How Our Gender is Imposed on Us Essay
How Our Gender is Imposed on Us
What makes us who we are? Is it the clothes we wear or the toys we played with while we were

what makes you, YOU, then you d realize that there is so much more than what meets the eye. Let s

really sure why, I guess I thought that it would ve looked better on my part. It was a way of showing

The Two Major Theories Of International Relations
Introduction
The study of international relations takes a wide range of theoretical approaches. Some emerge from
the discipline itself; others have been imported, in whole part from disciplines such as economics or
sociology. Many theories of international relations are internally and externally contested, and few
scholars believe only in one or another. A theory of international relations is a set of ideas that explains
how the international system works (SparkNote on International Politics, 2010). Unlike an ideology, a
theory of international studies is backed up with concrete evidence. This essay will focus on two
major theories of international relations (IR), namely realism and liberalism to determine which one is

Societal ideas, interests, and institutions influence state behaviour by shaping state preferences, that is,
the fundamental social purposes underlying the strategic calculations of governments. For liberals, the
configuration of state preferences matters most in world politics, not as realists argue , the
configuration of capabilities and not as, institutionalists (that is functional regime theorists) maintain,
the configuration of information and institution. According to Donelan (1990: 24), the central point in
realism is then that sometimes we as persons and still more important as associations are made moral,
for we have a common power over us; the state. He goes on further to say that we are not made moral,
there is no common power, and that is international relations as the frontiers of the state are the limits
of morals which on one side we have security of the state, on the other the bleak wastes of
international relations, where the states and great associations confront each other in cold

Oedipus Rex and Aristotle Essay example
The Six Elements of a Tragedy in Oedipus Rex Aristotle s The Poetics describes the process of a
tragedy. It is not the guide per se of writing a tragedy but is the idea s Aristotle collected while
studying tragedies. A tragedy, according to Aristotle, consists of six major points. The first and most
important is the plot, which is what all the other points are based on. Such points are: character,
language, thought, melody, and spectacle (Aristotle). A prime example of the usage of these parts in a
tragic drama is evident in Sophocles Oedipus Rex . The plot of a tragedy usually consists of a tragic
hero s fall from grace. Aristotle describes plot in two ways a simple plot and a complex one. In a

Oedipus flaw is he does not know who he is this ignorance leads to him bringing about his own

character and is evident in the speeches of the characters (Aristotle). These speeches reveal the
thoughts and feelings of the character; further allowing the reader to develop a relationship with the
character. In Oedipus Rex thought is illustrated in the speech Oedipus makes when he realizes the
truth about his situations. Language, or diction, is fourth on the list of a tragedy major points. Aristotle
points out that metaphors are the most useful form of language in a tragedy. The main metaphor
portrayed in Oedipus Rex is that of sight and blindness. The king things he sees all but in reality he is
blind to the truth. Ironically the only one who can see the truth is the blind seer Teiresias. Oedipus
begins the play able to see but is blind and ends the play blind but able to see. The fifth major point in
a tragedy is melody. Melody involves the chorus of the drama. Aristotle contends that the chorus
should not be just be an intermission but should add to the plot and character of the tragedy
(Aristotle). This is exemplified in Oedipus Rex in lines INSERT BOOK QUOTE. The last and least

Arizona s eventual prosperity ( City of Phoenix History ).
The decade begins in 1890, when the popularity of copper began to override that of silver ( Arizona ).

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Interest Based Finance
Introduction of mode of financing
Islamic banks use a number of non interest based finance modes. The use of a mode is dependent on
the nature, purpose and size of transactions. In selecting the modes, it is very much the know how and
knowledge of the Islamic banker which comes into play. These modes could be classified as debt type
instruments, quasi debt type Instruments, profit and loss sharing or hybrid instruments.
Debt type instruments involve Murabahah, Salam, Istisna a, Tawarruq and Qard Hasan. Murabahah is
a particular kind of sale, where the seller expressly mentions the cost he has incurred on the
commodities to be sold and sells it to another person by adding some profit or mark up thereon which
is known to the buyer. One of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the context of business, it refers to a joint enterprise in which partners (or parties) to the enterprise
share the profit and loss ratio of the enterprise. Musharakah has far reaching implications for Islamic
banking and finance in the modern context and providing excellent alternative to the interest based
economy.
In a Musharakah, the party investing the capital shares equally in both the profit and loss ratio, which
is different from an interest based system where the upside is limited while the downside is very
nearly non existent.
Basic Rules of Musharakah
1. Profit distribution
The ratio of profit for each partner must be determined in proportion to the actual profit arises to the
business and not in proportion to the capital invested by him. For example if it is agreed between them
that A will get 1% of his investment, the contract is not

The War Of The Aesir And The Vanir

Mythology 3rd Hour
April 4th, 2016
The War of the Aesir and the Vanir In Norse mythology, gods and goddesses usually belong to one of
two tribes: the Aesir and the Vanir. Throughout most of the Norse tales, deities from the two tribes get
along fairly easily, and it s hard to pin down firm distinctions between the two groups. But there was a
time when that wasn t the case.
The War of the Gods
The Vanir goddess Freya was always the foremost practitioner of the art of seidr, a form of magic
principally concerned with discerning and altering the course of destiny. Like historical seidr
practitioners, she wandered from town to town plying her craft for hire.
Under the name Heiðr ( Bright ), she eventually came to Asgard, the home of the Aesir. The Aesir
were quite taken by her powers and zealously sought her services. But soon they realized that their
values of honor, kin loyalty, and obedience to the law were being pushed aside by the selfish desires
they sought to fulfill with the witch s magic. Blaming Freya for their own shortcomings, the Aesir
called her Gullveig ( Gold greed ) and attempted to murder her. Three times they tried to burn her, and
three times she was reborn from the ashes.
Because of this, the Aesir and Vanir came to hate and fear one another, and these hostilities erupted
into war. The Aesir fought by the rules of plain combat, with weapons and brute force, while the Vanir
used the subtler means of magic. The war went on for some

Causes Of Death For Men And Women During The United States
One of the leading causes of death for men and women in the United States can be attributed to
Coronary Artery Disease. In the medical world, treatments are ever changing and improving the
chance of survival from this disease. One such treatment, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
with stent placement, is now used in more than 80% of CAD cases with an exceedingly high success
rate (http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/161446 overview). With any procedure, there is a number
of tools at the doctor s fingertips, and a new experimental technology in the stent world has risen with
temporary bio absorbable stents. The following document will briefly explain the procedure and their

conditions leading to a reduced lifespan in the patient. If there is a lack of cardiac surgical support or

also must not have received a bypass graft to the left anterior descending artery.

patients suffer from diabetes and coronary artery disease or have left main disease without collateral

As with any medical procedure, risks are taken into precaution when preforming a Percutaneous
Coronary Intervention. Complications generally arise from three types: contrast administration,
catheter/tool related issues, and access site situations (bleeding, hematoma, limb ischemia, etc.) A
patient may have an allergic reaction to the contrast media administered of which there is a course of
action to counteract the reaction with diphenhydramine, albuterol, or epinephrine. Contrast
nephropathy, one of the highest risks of PCI, is presented as an insufficiency of the renal system
clearing the blood. This risk can be reduced by using

The Main Causes And Consequences Of World War II
World War II is the largest and most violent armed conflict in the history of mankind during the year
from 1939 to 1945. World War II is a general war involving multiple major parties like United States
or Germany. It resulted in serious consequences, with massive loss of life and widespread destruction
all over the world. I will explain the reason why World War II broke out using three layers individuals,
state and society, and international system.
There is a quote said by Sir Thomas More: The common folk do not go to war of their own accord, but
are driven by the madness of kings . In World War II, the individual that contributed to the outbreak of
the war is Adolf Hitler, the Nazi leader of Germany. There are some main features in the personality of
Hitler, including disposition to exploit and manipulate others and also a lack of empathy with human.

Due to the difference in the intentions of each country, each state will have different attitude to deal
with the existing conflicts. Since the World War I, there had been two major powers: The Axis and

Axis power also pursued expansionist politics to build up their relative power positions. They
cooperate with each other due to a common interest, which is territorial expansion and foundation of
empires based on military conquest and the overthrown of the post World War I international order.

Analysis Of Roaring Twenties
Since the beginning of the Middle Ages around 400 A.D., the economic model of capitalism has been
adopted by communities with the intent of experiencing the greatest amount of growth in wealth in the
shortest amount of time. In America, the end of World War I in 1919 represented a great opportunity
for capitalists around the nation to further grow their wealth with what seemed to be no downside.
However, capital s reliance on sign exchange value, where individuals subscribe to beliefs and
purchase goods because of what they represent, caused drastic changes in society. The value of
interpersonal relations diminished, and the very meaning of reality was synthesized and then
deconstructed. The Roaring Twenties represented a time where no ... Show more content on

It fooled me. This fella s a regular Belasco. It s a triumph. What thoroughness! What realism! Knew
when to stop too didn t cut the pages . (Fitzgerald 24). Readers may view Owl Eyes as a mere whim to
provide a break from the plot of the story, however, he serves a vital role in the novel as he represents
the foundation of society as a whole. Some academia would assert that perhaps Owl Eyes can be
described as the avatar of the sightless T.J. Eckleburg, however, a more wholesome explanation can be
developed through a deeper interpretation (Shaw). Shaw points out that [Owl Eyes] is constantly
wiping his rain covered glasses in a futile effort to see what s going on (Shaw). What this indicates is
that Owl Eyes is a character who, just like the rest of society, is blinded. Shaw points to the rain
covered glasses to convey that Owl Eyes is the representation of all those who fall victim to the tricks
of the wealthy, in this case, a mobster is hidden behind pages and pages of respected literature which
have no connection to Gatsby s identity for himself. The existence of Owl Eyes importance is
contextualized only in coexistence with the billboard of Dr. T.J. Eckleburg. Eckleburg, an inanimate
object represents the truth of the Roaring Twenties, Above the grey land and the spasms of bleak dust
which drift endlessly over it, you perceive, after a moment, the eyes of Doctor T. J. Eckleburg

First Day-Day Descriptive Writing
The First December Day I woke slowly, eyelashes fluttering gently as I blinked my way into reality
gently rising from the slumber I had plunged into the night before. Sunlight was just barely sneaking
through the bamboo blinds of my light pink room, leaving my bed in a shadow of deep purple as if it
was afraid to pull me from my dreaming too soon. The room was still chilly and the floorboards a
frigid slate of ice as I pulled on the slipper socks that my mother had set beside my bed, and sleepily
padded over to the window. With a soft yawn and a stretch, I slowly tugged on the fraying, yellowed
string controlling the shades, fiddling with it slightly as I pulled with all of the might that my tiny
form could allow. Bit by bit, I slowly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was towering in a glorious and perfect upside down ice cream cone shape, a soft teal, with spines
that were more plastic than they were needles. My father tamed it gently with his hand, and proceeded
to trim the bottom branches. With the earsplitting shriek of the chainsaw, and a few tense moments
later, the tree plummeted gracefully to the ground, and my father hoisted it up onto his shoulders,
propping it on the van before giving it a final shove onto the roof. I retrieved the string to tie it up
from the back seat. The bulky twine was surprisingly smooth to the touch, gliding comfortably
between my fingers as the ball unwound. Amazed by this, I promptly called out Daddy! Can I have a
piece?
The reply was of course a short laugh and an, Of course, pumpkin, from my father, as we finished
securing the tree and prepared to go home. The little coconut cream colored rope, now filled with the
dizzying aroma of pine, twirled smoothly between my fingers as I toyed with it dreamily, leaning
myself against the window and gazing at the immaculate, snow draped scenery sweeping by. A small
yawn escaped as the day came to its close, my eyes fluttering shut, and hands stopping their
movements. Sleep took me just as softly as it had let me go, an old friend leading me back to my
dreams aided by the subtle, thumping lullaby of returning

Rhetorical Devices In Angelina Jolie Speech
In 2009 on World Refugee Day, Angelina Jolie made a speech about Afghanistan refugees in Pakistan.
Pakistan holds many refugees from Afghanistan who have fled their home country because of the
political and religious conflict there, such as Al Qaeda and the Taliban. Jolie has made multiple
expeditions to Pakistan to help aid these refugees. In her speech, Angelina Jolie uses repetition,
anecdote, and historical allusion to create an emotional appeal and persuade Americans to help
refugees in need.
Angelina Jolie uses repetition multiple times in her speech to create an emotional appeal to those
listening. Jolie repeats the word desperate many times while speaking about the refugees in Pakistan.
In the opening sentence of her speech, Jolie ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After telling the anecdote of the women and two children who gave Jolie the last of their drink, she
says, Since before the parable of the Widow s Mite it has been known that those who have the least
will give the most (Jolie 3). The parable of the Widow s Mite tells of a poor widow who gives
everything she had for God. By alluding to the Widow s Mite, Jolie once again reflects upon the
generosity of refugees and those who are in need. By making those listening to her speech once again
think about the generosity of the women giving the last of their drink supplies away, Angelina Jolie
creates a emotional appeal. Jolie uses historical allusion again when she compares what s happening to
the refugees in Pakistan to other situations in the Middle East. Jolie says, Whether it be Darfur,
Myanmar, or Swat Valley, or some as yet unknown crises, mass migrations will be a feature of our
future... (Jolie 5). The allusion to the genocide taking place in Darfur, the displacement of over
139,000 people in Myanmar, and the Malala shooting in Swat Valley gives examples of other times
people like the Afghanistan refugees in Pakistan have been displaced from their homes. Many of those
listening to Angelina Jolie s speech are familiar with the events that she alludes to and have felt
sympathy or even helped those people affected by those situations. By alluding to those events and
comparing what is happening in Pakistan to those events, Jolie creates an emotional appeal to those
listening to her speech by making them feel the same sympathy they felt for those who were affected
by the events she alludes to. Because of the sympathy they now feel for Afghan refugees, listeners are
persuaded to help those

Social Classes In Ancient Rome

Social Classes in Ancient Rome Ancient Rome was a fascinating time and place that existed almost
2000 years ago. Rome was a very advanced empire that consisted of much of the world s population at
that time. They were able to conquer nations that were not as strong, and grow to have more land.
Even though they were advanced, not all of the citizens of Rome were treated well or equally. The
people that lived during that time period were put into a class system which included the upper class,
the lower class, and slaves and there was little opportunity to change classes.
Even though the upper class in Rome had the fewest amount of people, they still ruled and had the
most power. The emperor was at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This caused a lot of problems with the patricians. When the senate wanted to fight a war, the plebeians
did not want to because they had not been able to vote. Finally a law was made called The Law of the
Twelve Tables. The patricians and the plebeians agreed on this, and it said that everyone had to follow
the same rules. Slowly the lower class was granted more rights, like the right to marry someone in a
different class. The website www.vroma.org states that in 445 BCE, patricians and plebeians were
permitted to intermarry. This is important to this society because people could finally change their
class if they married someone in a higher class than they were in. Before that people were stuck in
whatever class they were born

Employee Is Harmed At Work
In the event an employee is harmed at work and they meet all the requirements for workers
compensation they can get health advantages and salary for the amount of time they miss work. With a
specific end goal to get these advantages, the representative must lose their entitlement to sue their
manager for the offense of disregard. There are a wide range of arrangements, which fluctuate from
state to state. The workers that fit the bill for pay can get week after week installments as opposed to
being paid by their manager, which would go about as a type of disability insurance. In the event that
a worker needs compensation for monetary misfortune or restorative costs, it would be utilized as
medical coverage. Another structure that falls under workers compensation is life insurance, which
would be utilized if a laborer is killed during their employment.
There are three defenses for an employer by law for worker related injury. These are the fellow servant
doctrine, contributory negligence, and assumption of risk. The fellow servant doctrine is when another
employee causes the worker to be injured and this would make the employer not responsible for the
incident. The contributory negligence is when an employee does not use precautionary measures to be
careful on the job. In this instance the employer would also not be responsible for the injuries the
employee got. The last defense for an employer is the assumption of risk. This would be if the injured
employee willingly

The Working Memory Model
The working memory model was proposed by Baddeley and Hitch in 1974 as an alternative to
Atkinson Shiffrin s multi store model of memory. They argued that the short term memory was not a
passive, temporary store used to transfer information to the long term memory. Instead, they suggested
that it should instead be regarded as an active store which holds information as it is being worked on.
It is described by Cohen (1990) as the focus of consciousness , holding the information that is being
thought about currently. The model has four components: the central executive, the phonological loop,
the visuo spatial sketchpad, and the episodic buffer.
The central executive is the key, supervisory component of working memory, directing the subsidiary
systems. It decides which incoming information will be allocated attention, as well as coordinating the
activity needed to carry out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, it is relevant to both traditional STM tasks and activities such as verbal reasoning,
comprehension, and mental arithmetic.
An advantage of the working memory model is that it explains certain neurological results in a way
that the multi store model cannot. For example, Patient KF (Warrington Shallice, 1974) had verbal
difficulties, however his short term memory for visual information and meaningful sounds (such as a
phone ringing) were unaffected. The model explains these results. An impaired phonological loop can
account for the verbal impairment, and the fact that his memory for visual information works well can
be explained by an intact visuo spatial sketchpad.
A disadvantage of the working memory model is that, although it is a major improvement on the multi
store model, it is oversimplified. There are several other types of information that are processed and
briefly stored, however the model does not represent

Hanno Research Paper
The white elephant, a gift from the King of Cochin to Manuel, was an albino a trait as exceedingly
rare in elephants as in humans. After being shipped from Cochin to Lisbon, the elephant named
Hanno, possibly anglicized version of the Malayalam word for elephant, aana was packaged up for his
journey to Rome. Although Hanno was accompanied by forty three other exotic animals, he was
clearly the star of the show.
Upon reaching the Vatican, Hanno proceeded to stun the papal court and steal Leo s heart in a grand
procession, in which he danced to pipe music and performed tricks with his trunk. Manuel s
magnificent present charmed the entire city, inspiring poetry and verse about the king s great
generosity. Aurelio Sereno, a poet in the Holy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

As one contemporary put it, the pontiff was by nature given to ease and pleasure with an overweening

Castello Sant Angelo, Emperor Hadrian s magnificent mausoleum was the favored setting for staging

  • 2. Coca Cola Mission Statement Essay Introduction A mission statement is a crucial aspect in any type of organization. It acts as a guide to the commitment and actions of the employees and the management towards the achievement of the set organizational goals (Petrulis 27). It is crucial as it defines the type of the business, goods and services as well as the clients. An effective mission statement helps in defining the aim of the business, goals and objectives as well as the strategies relied upon to achieve it. Ideally, it should be an idea, which runs through all departments in an organization. It helps in influencing the actions of the managers at all levels. It acts as a force that leads to long term and short term goals of an organization (MacNamara 20). Furthermore, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The company s vision statement is a roadmap to double the global systems revenue in a period of 10 years by focusing on the six key areas. These are; profit, productivity, people, partners, portfolio and planet (Krell, 27). In the vision, the company talks of the clients, products self concept, public image, philosophy and the employees, which are good aspects that should be included in a mission statement for it to be comprehensive and of good standard (Soar, 34). However, in this mission statement, the company does not mention any item to do with leadership, quality, integrity, accountability, collaboration, passion as well as diversion. These are critical elements that should be considered in the mission statement, but the Coca Cola Company has mentioned none of them in it its statement (Petrulis, 28). This is a clear indicator that the mission statement of Coca Cola Company is insufficient. Hence, the company should rather rely on its vision statement in place of its mission statement and by doing so would have some values listed above to make it effective. It is by their inclusion that a company can be able to communicate its mission for being what it is to all its stakeholders in one statement (Soar, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some examples of allies would include the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF), the National Organization for Women (NOW), and the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, because they each represent minority factions of society that have traditionally faced discrimination ( Types of Interest Groups ). Other allied groups would be the American Civil Liberties Union and other liberal organizations that are dedicated to equality under the law. Some public interest groups may also be allies to the NAACP, as improved societal equality aids the common good of the people. Working with this variety of groups can provide the NAACP with a great deal of benefits. More voices ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Heteronormativity Essay Heteronormativity has not accepted the fact that there is no need to be a heterosexual couple to engage in sexual or romantic activities or that there is no need to be born with the right genre. This negation has had a negative impact in lives of people who identify themselves in a distinct manner from the ones that are considered normal . One of the most important consequences that this assumption can be found in mental health. An example of this was shown by Todd (as cited by Wilchins, 1997) trans identity is not a natural fact. Rather, it is the political category we are forced to occupy when we do certain things with our bodies. That so many of us try to take our own lives, mutilate ourselves, or just succeed in dying quietly of shame, depression, or loneliness is not an accident. We are supposed to feel isolated and desperate. Outcast. That is the whole point of the system. Our feelings are not causes but effects. (p33) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, there are some people who defend the idea that mental illnesses or problems related to the mind are not merely delineated by how society treats you, but it is a correlation between phenotypical and genotypical features potentiated by the context a person is born and the life history of the last one.Even though this argument could be supported by scientific evidence, this does not rest importance to the fact that heteronomativity has a huge influence on how a person perceives himself and faces the world because of how this belief is tightly woven in society. To conclude, one of the ways in which this standard affects people is by rejecting them causing further problems because this makes people feel as outcasts and has an impact in their psychological ... By age 13 he had become a member of the 104th street gang. They were a group of young Italian hoodlums. He was eventually made head of the gang. In 1915 he went to prison for a year for carrying a concealed weapon. On release Costello allied himself with Charles Lucky Luciano. • 6. W. H. Auden Physically Bound Physically Bound Critique of Musee Des Beaux Arts Central Theme W.H. Auden has one of the biggest names in poetry for the twentieth century. He wrote countless of poems, each being relatable and readable. One of his shining examples of his work is summed up into one brilliant writing, Musee Des Beaux Arts. This poem covers all grounds in the most simple way you could understand, yet also in the most complex. There is no area he lacks in and always impresses with the diversity that one writing of his can cover. Not only does he emotionally tie you into the poem, but he also gives spiritual insight and expresses political views. The background of this story happens to be the bitter subject of war, which seems to be contradicting. Yet, he somehow is able to perceive war through his art efficiently. The inspiration of this poem comes from not only war, but mainly from a painting that shows the downfall of Icarus. He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Yet, I think that even more proves his point. That humans are just so instinctive without really thinking things through that we miss more than we could ever imagine. The decision to literally not be aware of our surroundings is more harmful than we would like to admit. Another yet poor choice is shown in lines 18 20, the expensive ship... had somewhere to go. Proving that even if the ship was aware or not of Icarus s fall it did not care enough to stop. The ship was either shamefully oblivious to what was happening right next to it or it cruelly made the decision to not care regardless. The painful light of human s actions is executed simply through Auden s interpretation of the painting in the museum. It is clear that Auden believes we are too passive and poor with the power we hold. With fair judgement, I agree the painting along with the poem makes sense that most would like to keep quiet about. Yet another one of our many flaws, change can be good as long as we want it to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. A Cochlear Implant Is An Electronic Device That Substitutes A Cochlear Implant is an electronic device that substitutes the damaged part of the inner ear to send signals to the brain. It is used by profoundly deaf or severely deaf people. The first Cochlear Implant was invented in the year of 1961 by Dr. William F. House. He was an american otologist, medical researcher, and physician, born December 1st, 1923 died December 7th, 2012. Dr. William F. House started the process of developing the Cochlear Implant during the late 1950s, after obtaining knowledge of other experiments going on. He decided to put his focus on ear, nose, throat and later decided to focus strictly on the ear when parents brought him two young kids they believed were deaf. Dr. House performed the first Cochlear Implant surgery ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Secondly the sound processor forwards the codes to what s called the coil on the outside to the implant. After that the implant changes the code into electrical pulses and sends them out through the nerves. Lastly the cochlear nerve is stimulated and it sends out waves to the brain that are interpreted as sound. Over time the cochlear implant has had technology advances as well as the size becoming smaller and easier for deaf people to use. This surgical implant has both its benefits and disadvantages for the deaf. One of the benefits of the Cochlear Implant is the hearing improvement, people with them have the ability to interact more from hearing conversations, makes it to where less effort is needed to understand others. It also helps children in school, present and future. The overall benefit for everyone is they ll be able to adventure out more and it keeps them safer being able to hear. The downside of the implant is how expensive the process is, and how many people have to pass up the opportunity because of the cost. Another is that the sounds can be hurtful at first to the person and adjusting could take time. The procedure for the Cochlear Implant is a disadvantage as well because of the risk that all surgical procedures have, and the damage that could happen to the ear itself or face. The deaf community s feelings about the Cochlear Implant is controversial, some believe that if one is born deaf then that s what they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. What Are The Cause And Effects Of Divorce Today in modern society, divorce is becoming more normal than ever. Statistically speaking, over forty five percent of all marriages end in divorce. Divorce defined by Webster as the action or an instance of legally dissolving a marriage [1]. The word divorce can be used to describe both a cause and an effect. A few causes of divorce could include lack of communication, financial distress, and sexual indiscretion. These are just a few of the most common causes of divorce. The effects a divorce seems almost incomparable when considering the hardship it causes on both people in the relationship. One major cause of divorce is the lack of communication. Many marriages end up in divorce because of the neglect to communicate respectfully. Communication is the key within any relationship, not just marital relationships Many couples lack the proper communication when it comes to the critical decision making process. We know lack of money plays a big role in society, but what kind of role does it play in marriage. Many couples in a marriage want to blame money as the main cause of divorce. In fact, the statistics of a survey conducted by United States Census Bureau on divorce in North America suggested that more than fifty percent of divorced couples cited financial issues as their main cause of their divorce. Sometimes a relationship does not work out because the two people involved have different spending habits. This can be referred to as financial incompatibility. Divorce does not always help solve financial problems. It is the ache that doesn t seem to go away no matter how careful one might be. At this moment, a person knows that he or she needs help to terminate the throbbing that has literally taken over the entirety of their mouth. They need a dentist to stop the anguish. There are many different areas in the field of dentistry; a DDS is the main dentistry accomplishment for an everyday practitioner, however, many choose to step above the normal and become something greater. Other fields, such as Orthodontics, Periodontists, Oral pathologists, and Pedodontists are another big step on the dentistry ladder. To accomplish each of these degrees, a person must go back to school for at least two more years. It is fantastic to think about all of the opportunity that can come to a person for taking that extra step. Unfortunately, though, a very low percentage of DDS actually go the extra step to making more money and this is because after going to school for eight extra years of their lives, who wouldn t want to be content? For this reason, the normal practitioner s increases in salary will come from raising their fees and/or passing on rising costs to the consumer (Description Para 11). The job outlook is good for the dentistry profession because there will always be people who have teeth that need to be looked at and there will always be a need for people who can skillfully work inside one s mouth. The pay is also very good according to Reilender who states that one may earn up to $100,000 starting out as a practitioner (11). Once a person is well into his or her career, he or she ... The sampling aimed to choose outstanding early years provisions graded by Ofsted. In my opinion, it would have been more interesting to include settings with some lower grades, to look at the matter from different perspectives. Disappointingly, the authors have not included a school nursery and only results from three out of five case studies were discussed in the final analysis. They did not also explain how the sample of 3 settings was selected. • 11. Deep Brain Stimulation Implantation ( Shin ) Implantation Deep Brain Stimulation Implantation Deep brain stimulation (DBS) implantation is a procedure to insert a wire (lead) into one or both sides of the brain in order to deliver electrical currents to an area causing problems. The lead is attached to a power source that is implanted under the skin near the collarbone, chest, or abdomen. This procedure may be done to treat various medical conditions, such as Parkinson disease, essential tremor, and other neurological conditions that cannot be controlled with medicines. Once implanted, the device can be used 24 hours per day. The intensity and frequency of the pulses are programmed for each individual and can be adjusted. The DBS device has three parts: A lead. This is a thin wire. It goes through one or two small openings in your skull. It delivers the electrical pulse. A power source. This is called the neurotransmitter. It is usually placed under the skin in the upper part of your collarbone, chest, or abdomen, similar to how a heart pacemaker is inserted. It is powered by a long lasting battery. An extension. This is a wire that connects the lead to the power source. The extension is passed under the skin of your head and neck and down to the power source. Although the culture literature has at times focused on the culture of an organization as shared basic assumptions (Schein, 1985), or as metaphors within organizations (Morgan, 1986, 1997), it is not sufficient to attempt to understand and measure them. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 3, No. 12 International Journal of Business and Management Whereas Hofstede (1984) wrote of the collective programming of the mind which distinguishes the members of one human group from another as the meaning of the term organizational culture, which seems an interesting way of understanding the notion, and despite he discovered four areas of work related value differences at that time (power distance; uncertainty avoidance; individualism/collectivism; masculinity/femininity), however, in 1992, Hofstede used the term practices to refer to social and cultural phenomena, and in Hofstede s perspective, it is quite important to locate the deeply held values of organization members at the very center of the organization s culture. In reality, for some organization members, these values will be so deeply held that they will not be possible to change at all. However, how we choose to define culture has considerable implications for how we attempt to examine and study it, different authorities in the literature has introduced different interpretations. Hurricanes are referred to as Typhoons in the Western Pacific and Cyclones in Southeast Asia. On average, the Hurricane Season begins on June 1 and ends on November 30. A Hurricane s intensity is measured on the Saffir Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. A storm is classified as a hurricane when its wind speed goes above 74 mph (NOAA 2014). A hurricane is classified on a 1 to 5 category, based on its maximum wind speed. The higher the category, the greater the hurricane is potential for damage. A hurricane forms over warm waters near the equator. A hurricane goes through four stages of development from a disturbance to a hurricane. The first stage is known as Tropical Disturbance. Tropical Disturbance is a weak storm over tropical waters, containing mild winds, clouds, and precipitation. The second stage is known as a Tropical Depression. A Tropical Depression is formed when a group of thunderstorms comes together to produce circular wind flow. A Tropical Depression flows with maximum sustained winds below 39 mph (NASA 2015). The third stage in hurricane formation is known as a Tropical Storm. A Tropical Storm forms when a tropical depression s cyclonic circulation becomes more organized and produces winds up to 73 mph. The fourth and final step of hurricane formation is the hurricane itself. A tropical storm becomes a hurricane as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Example Of Irreversible Inequality Irreversible Inequality In this paper I will be explaining why social inequality is irreversible. A large part of this is due to social structure (forces outside our control), agency (our choices), and structuration (the way the previous two work together to shape our lives). This aspect of social inequality will be dove into deeper in the next paragraph, discussing how it shapes our views of societal norms. Next, I will discuss social inequality specifically in race and gender and how it will not be able to be reversed. Using Karl Marx s Conflict Theory, I will point out the flaws in believing that society can reverse social inequality. By using multiple examples of social inequality through history, research, and present day, it will become clear that social inequality is irreversible. Structure, agency, and structuration play a significant role in social inequality. Social structure are things that are outside a person s control, but still affect the person. Agency is the actions of individuals and each person s choices. Structuration is referring to how each person s life is shaped by uncontrollable influences, structure, and by their own choices, agency. An example of social structure affecting agency would be growing up in a poor neighborhood effecting what kind of education you receive. Poorer neighborhoods typically have a lower quality school, resulting in a lower quality education. In every society, there is a cultural norm, or an expected right behavior. When ... • 15. The Great Depression And The New Deal Essay The late 1930s were a time of great suffering and uncertainty in the United States. The country was crippled by effects of the Great Depression; the result was a massive decline in jobs and economic stability that dramatically impacted both rural and urban communities. Millions of Americans were out of work, unable to support their families. State organizations and charities were unable to meet the growing needs of the people and many were left to fend for themselves. The Great Depression brought with it a legitimate, tangible fear about the future of America and its citizens. Upon the outcry of the American people a New Deal was struck giving the citizens of America a lifeline of hope in the ever growing State. The New Deal was a succession of programs, organizations and laws, enacted by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, directly addressing the issues of jobs, welfare and uncertainty through direct federal involvement. The creators of the New Deal worked across party lines to reshape the norms of state involvement whilst making a great legislative effort to turn the declining economy around. The New Deal reshaped the federal government s relationship with its citizens in a time of economic uncertainty helping to grow the State in a time of peace. The state is best understood in relation to a government s power, influence and involvement with citizens rights in a given territory. The larger the state the more involved it is in the lives of its citizens. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some emerge from the discipline itself; others have been imported, in whole part from disciplines such as economics or sociology. Many theories of international relations are internally and externally contested, and few scholars believe only in one or another. A theory of international relations is a set of ideas that explains how the international system works (SparkNote on International Politics, 2010). According to Donelan (1990: 24), the central point in realism is then that sometimes we as persons and still more important as associations are made moral, for we have a common power over us; the state. He goes on further to say that we are not made moral, there is no common power, and that is international relations as the frontiers of the state are the limits of morals which on one side we have security of the state, on the other the bleak wastes of international relations, where the states and great associations confront each other in cold ... Throughout most of the Norse tales, deities from the two tribes get along fairly easily, and it s hard to pin down firm distinctions between the two groups. But there was a time when that wasn t the case. The War of the Gods The Vanir goddess Freya was always the foremost practitioner of the art of seidr, a form of magic principally concerned with discerning and altering the course of destiny. Like historical seidr practitioners, she wandered from town to town plying her craft for hire. Under the name Heiðr ( Bright ), she eventually came to Asgard, the home of the Aesir. The Aesir were quite taken by her powers and zealously sought her services. But soon they realized that their values of honor, kin loyalty, and obedience to the law were being pushed aside by the selfish desires they sought to fulfill with the witch s magic. Blaming Freya for their own shortcomings, the Aesir called her Gullveig ( Gold greed ) and attempted to murder her. Three times they tried to burn her, and three times she was reborn from the ashes. Because of this, the Aesir and Vanir came to hate and fear one another, and these hostilities erupted into war. Instead, they suggested that it should instead be regarded as an active store which holds information as it is being worked on.
