How Did Amelia Bloomer Take A Stand In Women s Rights
Taking a stand in women s rights (Amelia Bloomer) Imagine, you didn t have the right to vote, to get
your own money, or to get a good education just because you weren t a specific gender or color ?
What would you do about it ? Would you just let these things make you who you are, or would you
fight for your rights. More than 70 years ago people weren t treated the way we are now. If you were a
women then you would probably be at home cleaning or making meals for your family or even taking
care of your children .While your husband is going to work and earning his own money. If you were a
women you wouldn t be able to work for your own money, your money would become your husbands
money because your husband has the right to vote, to work, and more. Many ladies took a stand for
what they believed in. One great lady who stood up for her rights was Amelia Jenks Bloomer. She
impacted women s history in many ways. Amelia was born on May 27, 1818 in Homer, New York. As

Rock And Roll Music Genre Analysis
Q1: Of all the genres studied this semester, list 3 that you feel have been the most socially/politically
influential over time. Back up your choices with reasons and examples?
While many genres have been substantially influential over time both socially and politically, I feel
that rock and roll genre, country music genre, and African American roots genre.
Rock and Roll Music Genre
This genre s popularity has in time resulted in immense influence thus greatly impacting the society in
facets such as the daily lives of individuals, the language, fashion, and attitudes. In fact, the genre s
influence on social development can only be equaled by a few other music genres. Rock and roll
music enabled the blending of white and black music essentially bringing down the racial boundaries
in the 1950s which resulted and encouraged the racial desegregation of the 1960s. Additionally, the
American racial civil movements that occurred in the 1960s were greatly influenced by this music
genre. More so, people especially young teenagers were greatly influenced by the genre as well as the
celebrities themselves, which led to a new style of fashion altogether. Apart from this, rock and roll
music would result to more people understanding the core importance of education in dealing with
social problems such as racism and poverty.
Country Music Genre
Country music genre has been associated with the American culture for a long time, in fact, the music
has significance socially in that it has

Assumptions Conflict Reality They say there is nothing in this world like a mother s love. In the short
story, Odour of Chrysanthemums, Elizabeth, the mother of two, is facing a battle conflicting if she
loves her husband or not. She is trying to be strong for her family and hold them together, because she
feels like that is her job as a mother. Elizabeth has a mindset that her husband is out drinking and
spending his spare time at unnecessary places, as he has before, instead of spending time with his
family. Women overanalyze most situations but usually have a reason to. Women want the best for
their family, which is what Elizabeth s main concern is, and if her husband is not ... Show more

humans have to live, there is no time to live in pity and regret. Elizabeth has the idea that her husband
is staying out at bars while she is home taking care of the kids miserable and worried. This is not how
a healthy marriage works. Elizabeth realizes she never even loved her husband and was only attracted
to the lust when D.H. Lawrence says, There had been nothing between them, and yet they had come
together, exchanging their nakedness repeatedly. She comes to the realization that the only reason she
has stuck around is for her family and social acceptance. Elizabeth has guilt towards her assumption
when she is proven wrong. After coming the conclusion that her husband is out drinking again and she
does not love him, men come to her door with the information that her husband has passed away
during work on the coalmines. She begins to worry about if he suffered, how injured he was, and
about the children. Some people may assume that she feels relief that her husband has passed away
because of her lack of love for him but this is not true. Elizabeth has no emotion and is silenced

Huckleberry Finn Satire Essay
I heard an owl, away off, who whooing about somebody that was dead, and a whippo will and a dog
crying about somebody that was going to die; and the wind was trying to whisper something to me,
and I couldn t make out what it was (Twain 13). Twain often ridicules American society in the early
1800 s. He pokes fun at various subjects throughout the novel, such as human brutality, women s roles
in society, and slavery within christianity. Satire plays a major role in Mark Twain s classic novel, The
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
As the novel begins, Huck is living with a woman, Miss Watson,a religious christian figure. Upon
further research, it became clear that religion played a dominant role on views of slavery. Many slaves

empty to a full house. This sick and unfair way of gathering men together was predicted by the duke
when he stated, if that line don t fetch them , I don t know Arkansaw (Twain 161). This most likely
made men think that the play would be so much better, since women are not permitted to attend

Essay on Odysseus Journey Home
During Odysseus journey back home to Ithaca, him and his crew encountered many evils and troubles.
Almost every one of these took at least one of his men. Scylla is an example of this. This monster took
six of Odysseus men while on the journey home. Nearly ever was it Odysseus fault. His men caused
most of the problems that haunted them back to Ithaca. His hardships started when he was sent off to
fight in the Trojan War. He had to fight because he had made an oath to Helen s husband that he would
always defend her honor. When Paris abducted Helen he was then forced to fight. After he had fought
for Helen and had left, the wind then swept him to the island of the Cicones and fought and lost many

that they needed to find a way to get out of there and so they did. When the Cyclopes awoke,
Odysseus offered him some of his wine and he tried it and begged for more so Odysseus just kept
giving it to him drink by drink until he was drunk. The Cyclopes asked Odysseus what his name was
and Odysseus said Nothing. As soon he asked that, he fell over and slept peacefully. While he was
sleeping Odysseus found a large branch and asked his strongest men to put the tip in the fire and when
it was burning red, they shoved the hot part of the stick into the Cyclopes eye. The Cyclopes let out a
loud roar that woke up his neighbors. They came running and asked if someone was killing him and
the Cyclopes answered Nothing is killing me! So his neighbors left without second thought. When the
Cyclopes let his herd of sheep out Odysseus and his men clang to the bottom of the sheep and left the
island safely. After suffering from the Cyclopes, Odysseus ship came to a stop at the land of Aeolia

I Was A Strange Person
I was a strange person. Most view themselves as being strange, but I was constantly pointed out as
being very, very strange. Well, firstly, I was commonly considered an anti vegan. Well, I did eat my
greens, MOM, but still I always ended up eating the mean before the green stuff. And after. And in
between. All right, I didn t eat that much greens, but... ok, I have no excuse.
Anyhow, it started in the twenty first of may. I was just out in the sun as usual, lying comfortably on a
patch of grassy grass grass. I like grass, sure, but id never eat the stuff. I mean, why would you ever
eat something GREEN? Man, what a strange thing to do.
As I was lying there, absorbed in the thought of how human emotion works, I noticed something in
the bright sky. Something seemed to be... falling? Well, there was a blob of smoke behind it, so it must

Charlemagne And The Educational Contributions In The Dark...
Many had a bad viewpoint of the Dark ages, which is stated in the Cultures and Values book as: The
popular view of the Middle ages often referred to as the Dark Ages is that of a period of isolated and
ignorant people with little outside of their own immediate surroundings (P. 187). But through research
of the Dark ages I have come to realize that the time wasn t as bad as many people made it out to be.
There were many greats to make the Middle ages great; such as, Charlemagne. Also there were
numerous architectural works that were very beautiful and magnificent. Lastly there is evidence from
the epic poem Beowulf that tells a great story that was created in the Middle ages. In these times it
may have not been the most iconic for the area, but it definitely doesn t deserve the title of the Dark
ages. Charlemagne is seen as one of the greatest Roman Emperors throughout history and has
numerous accolades to show for it. But for this essay I am only going to speak about his work on the
educational advances during his reign as emperor. Stated by Cunningham and Reich, Charlemagne
opened his famous palace school at Aachen an institution that was a prime factor in initiating what has
been called the Carolingian Renaissance (p. 278). In his school he brought in numerous teachers and
scholars for several different reasons. Charlemagne wanted to make sure that the youth of the kingdom
were well educated, and his main reason for this was due to the fact that he himself could not

What Did Marie Curie Contribute To Society
Marie Curie and inspirational woman who accomplished many things in her life That helped people.

In an article it shows that Curie also established a military radiotherapy service, using radon a
radioactive gas emitted as radium decays sealed in thin glass tubes, which, when placed inside needles
strategically positioned within patients bodies, could destroy diseased tissue. After the war s end in
November 1918, Curie also offered radiology courses to U.S. soldiers through the Radium Institute.
Marie Curie did radiotherapy services for those soldiers in war and this destroyed the diseased tissue
which helped them heal faster. Another example of this is She didn t allow her gender to hamper her in
a male dominated world. Instead, she mobilized a small army of women in an effort to reduce human
suffering and win World War I. Through her efforts, it is estimated that the total number of wounded

start of the war, X ray machines were still found only in city hospitals, far from the battlefields where
wounded troops were being treated. Curie s solution was to invent the first radiological car a vehicle
containing the X ray machine and photographic darkroom equipment which could be driven right up
to the battlefield where army surgeons could use X rays to guide their surgeries. Marie Curie and her
research helped the ww1 troops get the help they needed with the x ray exams to

Smyth explains that if a group is oppressed, then it is only a matter of time before they revolt and turn
violent. As they feel that there is no other way to get noticed, as is often the case (p.30).
When George Holliday managed to capture film of the police brutality against Rodney King, it
seemed like a godsend. He sent the tapes to various news organizations who broadcasted them on
television. If you send a complaint to the police telling them that they are doing wrong, they are going
to say that they are not, and keep their power. By broadcasting the LAPD s wrongdoings on national
television, George Holliday exposed the corrupt and broken system for what it was. Finally it seemed

Perception And Scale Are Permanently Bonded
As human beings it sometimes appears that we are subject to our psychology as opposed to having
control over it. Almost every decision we make, every thought that crosses our minds, every emotion
that affects us has been created by an invisible process by our brain, a brain that doesn t feel the need
to explain its reasoning to us. Whether or not God exists, it is clear that we are beholden to forces we
do not, and can not control. This was something I felt more than ever in our past couple weeks of
humanities. In this time I learned that perception and scale are permanently bonded. It is only by
coming to grips with scale up close, and far away that we may find balance in our perspective. We
need to see things from far away to understand them, but it is by looking at them up close that we
make them feel human and real. Without either of these perspectives we stunt our potential
understanding as learners, as thinkers, and as people who understand what it means to be alive as
humans.
It is sometimes hard to see the point of looking at things up close. Why would we deliberately miss so
much of the picture by focusing on just one small piece of it? I believe that an up close viewpoint is
important to maintain to prevent psychic numbing and to maintain the humanity of events that we
have no direct connection with. When learning about the history of the universe and of life zooming
out too much can prevent you from empathizing with people from history. We have a tendency as

Differences Between Emily Dickinson And Bukowski
Bukowski was influenced by many writers before and around his time as he was published in the mid
to late nineties. Those who influenced him include Albert Camus, E. E. Cummings, John Fante, Henry
Miller, and some will argue Emily Dickinson. Both writers, Dickinson and Bukowski, touch upon
death, writing from their graves, and saving the world through the sincerity of one person. Dickinson s
poem If I can stop one heart from breaking mirrors one of Bukowski s most famous quotes You begin
saving the world by saving one person at a time; all else is grandiose romanticism or politics. His
simple of idea that universal peace begins with one soul mimics the message in Dickinson s verse.
If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain (Dickinson).
Words synonymous with each other not only shows the similarity in writing topics, but also in the
thought process for both writers. Both their moral compasses lead to the same conclusion, whether it
is a thought they act on or simply have. The similarities between these two go one further in their
darker poetry. Emily Dickinson famously writes many poems about death and dying as does Charles
Bukowski. Two poems of theirs are particularly similar. Bukowski s Alone with Everybody delivers a
similar message about death as Dickinson s Because I could not stop for death

countries can be described using a Markov Chain. Theory for Markov Chains can be applied to
address questions about the probabilities of victory and expected losses in battle.
Tan addresses two interesting questions:
If you attack a territory with your armies, what is the probability that you will capture this territory? If
you engage in a war, how many armies should you expect to lose depending on the number of armies
your opponent has on that territory?
A mistaken assumption of independence leads to the slight misspecication of the transition probability
matrix for the system, which leads to incorrect answers to these questions. Correct speciation is
accomplished here using enumerative techniques. The answers to the questions are updated and
recommended strategies are revised and expanded. Results and endings are presented along with those
from Tan s article for comparison.
The Markov Chain
The object for a player in RISK is to conquer the world by occupying all 42 countries, thereby
destroying all armies of the opponents. The rules to RISK are straight forward and many readers may
need no review. Newcomers are referred to Tan s article

Honda Ridgeline Case Study
The Honda Ridgeline returns this spring after a two year hiatus. The second generation midsize pickup
truck model debuted at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this week, making a
clean break from the previous edition. At least when it comes to styling. What hasn t changed is the
Ridgeline s unibody construction as it uses a car like architecture it shares with the Honda Pilot SUV.
What this means is front wheel drive is standard, while all wheel drive is optional. We are bringing our
unique technology and original thinking to the market in a new and challenging concept for a Honda
pickup, said John Mendel, executive vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. We think we

It will also be manufactured stateside at its manufacturing plant in Lincoln, Alabama. That s same
approach Nissan and Toyota have taken to gain acceptance in this all American passenger vehicle
segment. To effectively battle in a competitive segment, Honda has to approach potential customers
with something different. It already knows that it will not and it cannot reach off road enthusiasts. On
the other hand, Honda has designed the Ridgeline to provide excellent on road utility as well as
overall versatility. What should help Honda is the Ridgeline s 3.5 liter, V 6 engine, its only engine
choice. This direct injection motor is paired with a 6 speed automatic transmission, forming the only
powertrain combination offered. Honda hasn t specified numbers yet, but the automaker claims that
among midsize V 6 pickup truck models, it expects to lead the segment in a few key areas.
Specifically, Honda says the new Ridgeline will offer best in class acceleration performance. Further,
the automaker expects the Ridgeline to approach the 1,600 pound payload capacity of competing
trucks. If this truck matches the previous edition s 5,000 pound towing capacity, then it ll provide one

Aquarium Reserch Paper
Aquarium Research Paper
Abstract:
Fresh water tanks are the most common aquariums in houses and schools, many times people that
have had a fresh water aquarium move on into a challenge by having a salt water aquarium. Fresh and
salt water aquariums have something in common, they teach you how salt and fresh water fishes live
and how they interact with other organisms. While taking care of a salt and a fresh water tank in this
experiment my data showed that taking care of a salt water tank was definitely more challenging, but
while it was more challenging it was also more educational since it provided a small look at what life
in the ocean was like. The main idea behind this experiment was to see which aquarium would be the

Procedures:
1st: Setting up the aquarium:
To set up the aquarium you first need to get a big enough aquarium, in the case of this study 21
gallons (salt water) 15 gallons (freshwater). First you need to clean the glass of the aquarium only
using water; you cannot use any chemicals (Windex, soap, etc.) After that you will need to clean either
the crushed coral or the sand (salt water) or gravel (fresh water) for the bottom of the aquarium. After
doing that you will mix the water with the sea salt (salt water only) and wait about a week checking
constantly the water parameters. While doing this you will have to do research about the fishes you
will want to add to the aquarium so you know what the water parameters need to be for the fishes.
After doing this you can start adding a live rock and two fish max to check how they react to the
water.
2nd: Adding marine life
After the aquarium has been set up and the test fishes have survived you can begin adding more fishes.
When adding new fishes you need to leave the fishes in the bag in the aquarium for about 10 minutes
so that the temperature of the fish water and aquarium water can be the same and the fish can be safely
added into the aquarium. After adding fishes you will need to feed twice or three times a day an
amount of food that the fishes can eat in a five minute time period. You will need to check water

Quality of Secondary Education for Immigrants in the...
Immigration has been a part of American history ever since the United States was founded. American
schools were built on the foundation of European traditions that have come to be problematic due to
the increased number of immigrants from different regions of the world. There have been recent
arguments over the quality of education migrants, legal and illegal, are receiving in secondary
education. There are various differences amongst legal and illegal immigrants education in the United

In a study comparing the achievements of first and second generational Mexican and Chinese
immigrants, the researchers found that children s upward mobility is affected by structural and
relational attributes in their high school (Hao, 2008, pg.87). The structure involves the sector or setting
and the relational attributes deal with the standards, bonds and responsibilities found at a school.
Structural and relational attributes in the school can effect immigrant students by their teachers
becoming uninterested or not knowing how to teach them. Some structures were not built and
equipped to handle immigrant problems, as some relational attributes do not apply to the obstacles that
immigrants already face. Migrant children face a number of obstacles when they move to a foreign
country and these challenges can greatly affect students school performance. The result of whether or
not an immigrant student goes to college is greatly concerned with the social class split within the
immigrant population (Jaffe Walter Lee, 2011, pg.281). Immigrant families who have an upper class
background tend to have the resources they need to succeed in America. These families are less likely
to struggle financially and are able to give their children a proper education. Upper class immigrants
are more likely to be involved and aware of the problems within a school system and are willing to
fight against them. Highly educated settlers have a greater opportunity to send

A Brief Note On Unemployment And Unemployment Rate
There are three major types of unemployment, including frictional unemployment, structural
unemployment and cyclical unemployment. Frictional unemployment is the short term unemployment
arising from matching workers with jobs. Structural unemployment is because of more people are
seeking for jobs in a particular labor market than there are jobs available at the current wage rate.
Cyclical unemployment is due to the business cycle. When an economy goes into a recession, demand
for most goods and services decline, and so firms do not require as much labor to produce it. Although
some unemployment is normal and even in the booming economics, zero unemployment is not
feasible, the government need to take every efforts to reduce the unemployment rate. As there are
different types of unemployment, different policy measures are required to reduce the unemployment
rate.
In order to reduce unemployment rate, the most important thing is find the resolve to stimulate
aggregate demand. When there is in the booming economics, more jobs are available. Which means
greater growth invites higher levels of employment.
Frictional unemployment is mainly caused by information asymmetry. In labour market, the
information cannot spread between employers and employees symmetrically and effectively. To
reduce frictional unemployment, the time of seeking job must be shorten. The government should
make the market information quickly and effectively. What is more, the economy change makes some

The history of the United States is full of unsolved mysteries. One of the greatest mysteries which
occurred in 1953 was the electrocution of Ethel and Julius Rosenberg under the Espionage Act. They
were convicted for giving the secret information about the atomic bomb to the Soviet Union. The anti
communist sentiment that characterized the Cold War and McCarthyism led to their trial and
execution. Even though there is some evidence of the Rosenbergs guilt, numerous facts which were
discovered after the death of Ethel and Julius argue more convincingly that they were innocent victims

On July 17, 1950 Julius Rosenberg was arrested for spying and giving secrets about the atomic bomb

husband in spy activities.(Moss, 225) On Friday, June 19, 1953 Ethel and Julius were electrocuted in
New York State s Sing Sing Prison. Their sons, Michael who was ten and Robert who was six were
sent to foster homes and later were adopted by Anne and Abel Meeropol in 1957.(Moss, 224) How did

The investigation began when the FBI found a name, Klaus Fuchs, written in a notebook of a Russian

development of the atomic bomb) from 1943 to 1946. When Dr. Fuchs was arrested, he confessed that
he was giving the information about the bomb to the Soviet Union. However, Fuchs was not the only
one. Harry Gold who was a Philadelphia biochemist said that he was told by his Soviet contact

Agreement is different, from the Treaty of Paris signed in 1783 which concluded the American

Great Britain. It is also distinct from Treaty of Paris (1815) which solidified Napoleon s defeat in

the 1763 Treaty, which was conjointly signed with the Treaty of Habertusburg (1763), France ceded to

An Examination Of The Colonist s Retaliation Against...
An Examination of the Colonist s Retaliation against British Crown s Taxation The American colonies
were justified in their response to the taxes King George III and Parliament applied on the colonist as
Britain allowed this new world to form its own reality and sense of independence by refusing to
financially support the colonies and ignoring the large gap that developed over time between the
colonies and Britain. For years Britain s economy reaped the rewards of financial gain through the
laws of the Navigation Acts which forced the use of only British vessels for trade between the Britain
and its colonies and the Triangle Trade which Britain and its colonies and Africa traded between
themselves for slaves, raw goods and manufactured products. During this time Britain s concern for a
relationship with its colonies diminished and as time passed so did the colonists sense of being British.
As more immigrants from other nations settled in the colonies and children born in this new land
became adults, being British lessened. This new blended generation romanced new religious ideas and
explored theories on free will and democracy during the Enlightenment period, which led to the
disenchantment of the colonies with a monarch led government. Britain struggled with control and
power over the colonies as it became unclear who was governing the colonies and Britain focused
only on its laws over shipping and British ports to maintain funds for the crown and soon neglected

The Effect Of Sodium Thiosulphate On Reaction Rate
Title:
The effect of Hydrochloric Acid volume with Sodium Thiosulphate on the reaction rate.
Introduction:
Research Question: How does changing the volume of Hydrochloric Acid on Sodium Thiosulphate
effect the time taken for the X Mark to dissapear?
The rate of a chemical reaction is the time required for a given quantity of reactant to be changed to
product. The unit of time may be seconds, minutes, hours, days or years. For a chemical reaction to
occur it needs to have a collision, and it is affected by several factors, such as temperature increases in
general increase the rate of reaction, for the example 2O°C rise in temperature doubles the reaction
rate. Catalysts affect the rate by using or allowing a different pathway for the reaction ... Show more

This occur because the increase of volume of HCl will increase the rate of reaction between
Hydrochloric acid and sodium Thiosulphate particles.
The scientific result for this experimet is the results from preliminary experiments support the
prediction made. From the results you can see that there is a directly proportional relationship between
the concentration and the rate of reaction. Ifyou increase the concentration then the rate of reaction
will also increase. The volume of a solution will effect the rate of reaction because the rate of reaction
depends on how much the molecules of reacting substance will collide, more volume of HCL make
the reaction of Sodium Thiosulphate and HCL to react faster.
This experiment is testing how the rate of reaction is affected when volume is changed. The theory is
said that increasing the volume can increase the rate of reaction by increasing the rate of molecular
collisions. The phenomenon behind all of this is the collision theory and how it plays a big role in this
investigation. The higher the volume of a solution the less time/faster it will take for the system to turn
into equilibrium, and if concentration is decreased, time taken for the solution to go cloudy

rights of the federal government.
1. Many Americans had disagreed on the subject of tariffs or a fee paid by merchants who imported
goods out of country. In 1828 congress had passed a tariff that had placed a higher fee on imported
goods from britain which had benefitted america because a lot of goods were imported from britain.
Tariffs had split the nation in two one side being against and one side supporting it. Most Americans
from the northwest had supported the tariff on britain because it had benefited them.

In The Prince Machiavelli speaks about virtue, and describes many of his characters to be virtuous.
Machiavelli s ideal virtuous leader must have the ability to avoid fortune, ability to use one s own

Machiavelli s example of Hannibal in The Prince teaches us that having virtue or being virtuous is to
remain in power with the use of force. In chapter seventeen Hannibal is portrayed as being cruel;
maintains his army unified to gain and remain in power. Machiavelli also rates Hannibal highly on the

Chaos In Macbeth
In the Jacobean Era, it was believed that the universe was governed by a natural order and when this
came disrupted everything would descend into chaos. Corrupt views of right and wrong allowed for
the rule of God to be disobeyed and subsequently, turmoil ensued. Macbeth, written by Shakespeare,
portrays characters in a crisis of morality during a time of universal imbalance. In the face of evil and
chaos, human relationships become strained. Uncontrolled ambition between man and wife, lack of a
stable and righteous leader within a country, and the erosion of a sense of self when in a battle with
consciousness leads to destruction. Balanced human interactions are unable to prosper in the face of
evil and chaos; however, nature will always prevail ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It becomes obvious that the Macbeths are close and have insight into each other s character. Early on
within the play, they are equal in love and ambition and are willing to commit unspeakable crimes in
order to please each other. They share a joint passion in wanting to rule Scotland and are blind to the
possible consequences of their actions. When they plot and carry out the murder of Duncan, the
Macbeths attain the power they so desperately craved and it eventually starts to pull them a part. Their
corrupt views of right and wrong not only disrupt both the chain of being and the natural order of the
universe but also, their marriage. Macbeth is willing to give everything in his life in order to maintain
his position as King. His hunger for power and growing ambition outweighs his desire to please his
wife, thus creating inequality within their relationship. The destruction of natural order that is a result
of Duncan s murder is paralleled in the destruction of the Macbeths marriage. Further demonstrating
the unnatural elements present within this play is the gender role reversal between Macbeth and Lady
Macbeth. Lady Macbeth s ambition to attain the kingship can be seen in her desire to rid of her
feminine traits. She wants the spirits to tend on mortal thoughts, unsex [her] here, (1.5.44) and come

Rock and Roll Music Genre This genre s popularity has in time resulted in immense influence thus greatly impacting the society in facets such as the daily lives of individuals, the language, fashion, and attitudes. In fact, the genre s influence on social development can only be equaled by a few other music genres. Rock and roll music enabled the blending of white and black music essentially bringing down the racial boundaries in the 1950s which resulted and encouraged the racial desegregation of the 1960s. Additionally, the American racial civil movements that occurred in the 1960s were greatly influenced by this music genre. More so, people especially young teenagers were greatly influenced by the genre as well as the celebrities themselves, which led to a new style of fashion altogether. Apart from this, rock and roll music would result to more people understanding the core importance of education in dealing with social problems such as racism and poverty. Many had a bad viewpoint of the Dark ages, which is stated in the Cultures and Values book as: The popular view of the Middle ages often referred to as the Dark Ages is that of a period of isolated and ignorant people with little outside of their own immediate surroundings (P. 187). But through research of the Dark ages I have come to realize that the time wasn t as bad as many people made it out to be. There were many greats to make the Middle ages great; such as, Charlemagne. Also there were numerous architectural works that were very beautiful and magnificent. Lastly there is evidence from the epic poem Beowulf that tells a great story that was created in the Middle ages. • 14. Perception And Scale Are Permanently Bonded As human beings it sometimes appears that we are subject to our psychology as opposed to having control over it. Almost every decision we make, every thought that crosses our minds, every emotion that affects us has been created by an invisible process by our brain, a brain that doesn t feel the need to explain its reasoning to us. Whether or not God exists, it is clear that we are beholden to forces we do not, and can not control. This was something I felt more than ever in our past couple weeks of humanities. In this time I learned that perception and scale are permanently bonded. It is only by coming to grips with scale up close, and far away that we may find balance in our perspective. We need to see things from far away to understand them, but it is by looking at them up close that we make them feel human and real. Without either of these perspectives we stunt our potential understanding as learners, as thinkers, and as people who understand what it means to be alive as humans. It is sometimes hard to see the point of looking at things up close. Why would we deliberately miss so much of the picture by focusing on just one small piece of it? I believe that an up close viewpoint is important to maintain to prevent psychic numbing and to maintain the humanity of events that we have no direct connection with. When learning about the history of the universe and of life zooming out too much can prevent you from empathizing with people from history. We have a tendency as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. Differences Between Emily Dickinson And Bukowski Bukowski was influenced by many writers before and around his time as he was published in the mid to late nineties. Those who influenced him include Albert Camus, E. E. Cummings, John Fante, Henry Miller, and some will argue Emily Dickinson. Both writers, Dickinson and Bukowski, touch upon death, writing from their graves, and saving the world through the sincerity of one person. Dickinson s poem If I can stop one heart from breaking mirrors one of Bukowski s most famous quotes You begin saving the world by saving one person at a time; all else is grandiose romanticism or politics. His simple of idea that universal peace begins with one soul mimics the message in Dickinson s verse. If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain; If I can ease one life the aching, Or cool one pain, Or help one fainting robin Unto his nest again, I shall not live in vain (Dickinson). Words synonymous with each other not only shows the similarity in writing topics, but also in the thought process for both writers. Both their moral compasses lead to the same conclusion, whether it is a thought they act on or simply have. The similarities between these two go one further in their darker poetry. Emily Dickinson famously writes many poems about death and dying as does Charles Bukowski. Two poems of theirs are particularly similar. • 21. The Markov Chains Game Markov Chains Game Introduction Probabilistic reasoning goes a long way in many popular board games. Abbott and Richey [1] and Ash and Bishop [2] identify the most portable properties in Monopoly and Tan [3] derives battle strategies for RISK. In RISK, the stochastic progress of a battle between two players over any of the 42 countries can be described using a Markov Chain. Theory for Markov Chains can be applied to address questions about the probabilities of victory and expected losses in battle. Tan addresses two interesting questions: If you attack a territory with your armies, what is the probability that you will capture this territory? If you engage in a war, how many armies should you expect to lose depending on the number of armies your opponent has on that territory? A mistaken assumption of independence leads to the slight misspecication of the transition probability matrix for the system, which leads to incorrect answers to these questions. Correct speciation is accomplished here using enumerative techniques. The answers to the questions are updated and recommended strategies are revised and expanded. Results and endings are presented along with those from Tan s article for comparison. The Markov Chain The object for a player in RISK is to conquer the world by occupying all 42 countries, thereby destroying all armies of the opponents. The rules to RISK are straight forward and many readers may need no review. Newcomers are referred to Tan s article ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The structure involves the sector or setting and the relational attributes deal with the standards, bonds and responsibilities found at a school. Structural and relational attributes in the school can effect immigrant students by their teachers becoming uninterested or not knowing how to teach them. Some structures were not built and equipped to handle immigrant problems, as some relational attributes do not apply to the obstacles that immigrants already face. Migrant children face a number of obstacles when they move to a foreign country and these challenges can greatly affect students school performance. The result of whether or not an immigrant student goes to college is greatly concerned with the social class split within the immigrant population (Jaffe Walter Lee, 2011, pg.281). • 25. A Brief Note On Unemployment And Unemployment Rate There are three major types of unemployment, including frictional unemployment, structural unemployment and cyclical unemployment. Frictional unemployment is the short term unemployment arising from matching workers with jobs. Structural unemployment is because of more people are seeking for jobs in a particular labor market than there are jobs available at the current wage rate. Cyclical unemployment is due to the business cycle. When an economy goes into a recession, demand for most goods and services decline, and so firms do not require as much labor to produce it. Although some unemployment is normal and even in the booming economics, zero unemployment is not feasible, the government need to take every efforts to reduce the unemployment rate. As there are different types of unemployment, different policy measures are required to reduce the unemployment rate. In order to reduce unemployment rate, the most important thing is find the resolve to stimulate aggregate demand. When there is in the booming economics, more jobs are available. Which means greater growth invites higher levels of employment. Frictional unemployment is mainly caused by information asymmetry. An Examination of the Colonist s Retaliation against British Crown s Taxation The American colonies were justified in their response to the taxes King George III and Parliament applied on the colonist as Britain allowed this new world to form its own reality and sense of independence by refusing to financially support the colonies and ignoring the large gap that developed over time between the colonies and Britain. For years Britain s economy reaped the rewards of financial gain through the laws of the Navigation Acts which forced the use of only British vessels for trade between the Britain and its colonies and the Triangle Trade which Britain and its colonies and Africa traded between themselves for slaves, raw goods and manufactured products. During this time Britain s concern for a relationship with its colonies diminished and as time passed so did the colonists sense of being British. As more immigrants from other nations settled in the colonies and children born in this new land became adults, being British lessened. This new blended generation romanced new religious ideas and explored theories on free will and democracy during the Enlightenment period, which led to the disenchantment of the colonies with a monarch led government. Introduction: Research Question: How does changing the volume of Hydrochloric Acid on Sodium Thiosulphate effect the time taken for the X Mark to dissapear? The rate of a chemical reaction is the time required for a given quantity of reactant to be changed to product. The unit of time may be seconds, minutes, hours, days or years. For a chemical reaction to occur it needs to have a collision, and it is affected by several factors, such as temperature increases in general increase the rate of reaction, for the example 2O°C rise in temperature doubles the reaction rate. Catalysts affect the rate by using or allowing a different pathway for the reaction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This occur because the increase of volume of HCl will increase the rate of reaction between Hydrochloric acid and sodium Thiosulphate particles. The scientific result for this experimet is the results from preliminary experiments support the prediction made. From the results you can see that there is a directly proportional relationship between the concentration and the rate of reaction. Ifyou increase the concentration then the rate of reaction will also increase. The volume of a solution will effect the rate of reaction because the rate of reaction depends on how much the molecules of reacting substance will collide, more volume of HCL make the reaction of Sodium Thiosulphate and HCL to react faster. This experiment is testing how the rate of reaction is affected when volume is changed. The theory is said that increasing the volume can increase the rate of reaction by increasing the rate of molecular collisions. The phenomenon behind all of this is the collision theory and how it plays a big role in this investigation. Satirist, Jonathan Swift was sincere with his proposal, and continued to approach the problem with creating a solution he thought seemed fit. To begin, he recognized the concern of poverty, the future of young children, and accomplished his proposal on how to decrease the population, backing up his idea with statistics and reason. As Swift saw the melancholy everyday while walking the streets, The amount of poverty in Ireland were at their worst. • 37. Chaos In Macbeth In the Jacobean Era, it was believed that the universe was governed by a natural order and when this came disrupted everything would descend into chaos. Corrupt views of right and wrong allowed for the rule of God to be disobeyed and subsequently, turmoil ensued. Macbeth, written by Shakespeare, portrays characters in a crisis of morality during a time of universal imbalance. In the face of evil and chaos, human relationships become strained. Uncontrolled ambition between man and wife, lack of a stable and righteous leader within a country, and the erosion of a sense of self when in a battle with consciousness leads to destruction. Balanced human interactions are unable to prosper in the face of evil and chaos; however, nature will always prevail ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It becomes obvious that the Macbeths are close and have insight into each other s character. Early on within the play, they are equal in love and ambition and are willing to commit unspeakable crimes in order to please each other. They share a joint passion in wanting to rule Scotland and are blind to the possible consequences of their actions. When they plot and carry out the murder of Duncan, the Macbeths attain the power they so desperately craved and it eventually starts to pull them a part. Their corrupt views of right and wrong not only disrupt both the chain of being and the natural order of the universe but also, their marriage. Macbeth is willing to give everything in his life in order to maintain his position as King. His hunger for power and growing ambition outweighs his desire to please his wife, thus creating inequality within their relationship. The destruction of natural order that is a result of Duncan s murder is paralleled in the destruction of the Macbeths marriage. Further demonstrating the unnatural elements present within this play is the gender role reversal between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. Lady Macbeth s ambition to attain the kingship can be seen in her desire to rid of her feminine traits. She wants the spirits to tend on mortal thoughts, unsex [her] here, (1.5.44) and come to [her] woman s breasts / And ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 40. Cardiomyopathy Case Study Cardiac abnormalities are often detected during physical examination of hyperthyroid cats1 . These abnormalities are diverse and can appear as subtle, clinically inconsequential myocardial changes but also as severe changes which could be associated with the development of heart failure leading to death. Often times, it is difficult to determine whether cardiac abnormalities that persist after the treatment and resolution of hyperthyroidism are the result of the hyperthyroidism or a primary cardiac disease1 . The most common form of primary myocardial disease in cats is hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), which is the hypertrophy of a nondilated ventricle that occurs when there is no metabolic stimuli or altered blood flow such as hyperthyroidism ...
