1. Amendment inserting Sub section (2) to Section 26 and Rule 15(4) to Order VI Rule 15.
Prior to insertion of aforesaid provisions, there was no requirement of filing affidavit with the
pleadings. These provisions now require the plaint to be accompanied by an affidavit as provided in
Section 26(2) and the person verifying the pleadings to furnish an affidavit in support of the pleading
[Order VI Rule 15(4)]. It was sought to be contended that the requirement of filing an affidavit is
illegal and unnecessary in view of the existing requirement of verification of the pleadings. The
affidavit required to be filed under amended Section 26(2) and Order VI Rule 15(4) of the Code has
the effect of fixing additional responsibility on the deponent as to the truth of

The Life of Galileo
The Battle For Truth
Throughout the course of history, from era to era, mankind has been on a continuous attempt to
perpetuate what they perceive as the truth; and in doing so, embark on a quest to find their true
identity and place in life. One must realize that the common theme in all literature is the search for
identity and belonging. Bertolt Brecht, author of The Life of Galileo, effectively uses the developing
character Galileo Galilei to portray a strong message; a message which five hundred years after the
fact has still not been completely comprehended. Through Galileo s continuous battle with the Church
in prevailing his work, Brecht is telling the readers that in any one man s attempt to propagate the
truth, whether it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

image of God,.... (Brecht 40) LITTLE MONK: ...You ve won. GALILEO: It has won! Not me, reason
has won! (Brecht 40)
After the Old Cardinal implicitly tells Galileo that his research and teachings symbolize atheism, he is
approached by Clavius whom tells Galileo that he is right and that he is invited to Rome to show his
research. It is interesting to see Galileo s response in crediting reason for his achievement. It is here
where the reader sees Galileo s thoughts and perceptions on life; that science and its achievements
should not only be credited to the founder yet the society that encourages these findings; that the
progress of human kind as a whole should be the objective of inventions. Using Galileo, Brecht
continuously stresses these points throughout the play and is making it clear that he is against the
notion of the discouragement of ideas, inventions, and thinking. Although external forces such as the
church and other characters do not influence Galileo s personal belief, there are also internal forces,
such as the battle against self, that also influence Galileo s perception on both his work and human
kind. It is through his experiences with Andrea, the young protégé of Galileo, that we see the character
of Galileo at the beginning of the play. In

The Sikhs Essay
In the year 1469 a man named Guru Nanak was born into a Punjabi Hindu family. His name means
quot;He who was born at the home of his mother s parents quot;, which was in Talwandi, near Labone
( quot;Sikhs quot; 647). We know little about Nanak s life but a lot about his beliefs from a book
called quot; Adi Granth quot; or quot; Granth Sahib quot;, which means holy book. Some of his
beliefs were the reality of quot;karma quot; and quot;reincarnation quot;.These are beliefs that our
actions in this life determine how high or low we ll be in our next life. The Hindus and Muslims
believe it is best to worship, missionize, study and write the sacred scriptures, and other religious
public actions and behaviors. Nanak believed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Angad appointed as his successor Amar Das, who did two things that differed from Nanak s beliefs.
He made his own village, Goindual, a city for pilgrims, though Nanak said that missionizing was not
good. In addition, Amar Das collected materials for the forming of quot;Granth Sahib quot;, though
Nanak said you shouldn t make sacred writings. Guru Amar Das appointed, as his successor, his son in
law Jetha or Ram Das. Guru Ram Das built the golden temple in Amritsar on the land given to him by
emperor Akbor. Before then the Guru ship was given to someone who deserved it, but from that point
on it was given to a family member. So, Ram Das gave it to his third son Arjan Dev, a legendary hero
of his time. Guru Arjan Dev put together the quot;Granth Sahib quot;, supposedly taking it from the
works of Amar Das. Before he died, Guru Arjan told his son Hargobind to wear, when he became
Guru, not one but two swords because one stood for quot;piri quot;, the continuing authority of the
Guru and the other stood for quot;miri quot; the newly assumed secular authority (McLeod 4). It was
from his secular authority that the Panth or Sikh community developed, always arming themselves out
of fear of the Mughal forces. The death of Arjan is not clear but it probably did occur while he was in
Mughal custody. Guru Hargobind was forced to change the Panth from Nanak Panth, the Panth similar
to the days of Nanak, to a military Panth. After Guru

Omaha Beach Attack
When you think of Omaha Beach, what comes to mind? The soldiers clashing on the beach. Or maybe
a relative s story of how they dodged the oncoming bullets. Perhaps the boats taking soldiers across
the channel. What comes to my mind is the bravery of the soldiers under fire. If you think that s
interesting, then stick around. I ll give you an in depth look at what happened at Omaha Beach on that
fateful day.
Omaha beach was the biggest D Day invasion site at six miles wide. It the second most western beach,
with Utah Beach being farthest to the west. The attack began on June 6, 1944. (Drez) Omaha Beach
saw the fiercest fighting. It had a 12 foot tall sea wall. (Williams) There were also large cliffs
separating the beach from the nearby towns. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All the soldier that were supposed to arrive at Fox Green landed farther to the east. But troops from
Companies E and F were pushed by the current from Easy Red, and they took the place of the 16th
Regiment troops that were pushed to the east. The downside was that they came in under heavy fire
and had almost no cover, mainly because of the lack of a seawall on that section of the beach. Easy
Red was the largest section of Omaha Beach. Over 50% of this section was in between two of the
German strong points. The Engineers of the 37th and 149th Engineer Combat Battalions gave it their
all trying to make a path through the German defenses in the water. While this was happening,
Company E of the 116th was trying to flank the strong point that was farther to the west. They had
help from two of the navy destroyers, and a few other destroyers helped provide cover for the troops
being landed, one of them being the USS Frankford. The 18th Regiment of the 1st Division was
landed around 09:30 hours. They only lost 28 landing boats when the troops were being landed, and
they managed to land with better success than the 16th did. They helped to secure the Valley that was
near the strong point that Company E had secured earlier. That valley later became the main way to
the towns surrounding Omaha Beach. Part of Company E of the 116th and Company E of the

Kant And Morality
When talking about whether or not consequences of an act have anything to do with morality, one
must think of all the ways in which an individual s acts could be considered morally wrong. Morality
relates to conduct, whereas they both involve some type of action that is partaken by the individual,
which can be mistaken as being good even though the consequences are considered bad (Dewey,
1891).When a person performs an action, and the outcome of that action is a negative one, we often
find ourselves blaming anything other than the individual themselves because we believe they had no
foresight on what was going to happen. Dewey describes that when conduct and character are
involved in telling if somebody is being moral, or immoral, we are unable to say whether or not the
action was good or bad until we know how that action turns out and we know what the consequences
are. (Dewey, 1891).
In order to decide whether or not a consequence of an action is morally good, or morally wrong, one

Duties and laws apply to an individual and their morality. Kant states that morality cannot be based on
man, we cannot base morality on experiences because morality is unconditioned. (Kant, 1998).
Metaphysical philosophy is pure, much as morality is unconditioned and pure. Metaphysics applies to
our efforts of understanding the world around us, it is independent from all experiences and
knowledge and applies to all, much as morality applies to all. Metaphysics cannot be compared to the
empirical because the empirical is based on our experiences, it is completely individual and therefore
cannot be applied to all morality. Kant states that you cannot understand practical morals without
metaphysics. (Kant, 1998). This is the basis of understanding whether or not Kant believes
consequences of an act have anything to do with

A Study On Working Capital
Maeghan Gaines 29 November 2014 FINA 150 Semester Project Chapter 14 Executive Summary:
Working Capital I chose to research working capital because I did not know the term nor the
significant role it plays in operating a business. I learned that working capital is the requirements for
running normal business operations on a daily basis. It is the necessary amount needed to keep the
doors open and is analyzed for a period of about a year. Working capital is essential for fulfilling
business operating needs. Cash that is spent is not considered working capital because it can no longer
be used by the company to invest. Working capital is the cash surplus within the company used to
make more money. Implementing an effective working ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, the level of fixed assets and current assets depends on the expected sales but only the current
assets can be adjusted with fluctuating sales in a diminutive period. Most importantly, time must be
considered when managing fixed assets. Discounting and compounding of time play a major role in
capital budgeting and a minor role in the management of current assets. Ultimately, a business can
survive without appropriate working capital policy, but a firm without working capital has a much
smaller life span than businesses that are well capitalized. Working Capital Policy Introduction:
Working Capital is the single most important component of a business or firm because it has a direct
impact on the cash flows. Working capital is the capital you require for the working functioning of
your business in the short run (BBI). There are two types of working capital; gross working capital
and net working capital. Gross working capital is current assets. Net working capital is the difference
between current assets and current liabilities. Net working capital will be referred to as simply
working capital in this paper. Operating Cash flows arise from normal business operations and is the
difference between cash expenses associated with the manufacturing and sales of products and the
cash collected from the sales. Since cash flow is the main priority for

Disadvantages Of Plastic Recycling
Another approach to plastic recycling is to actively collect plastic from a large region, and to either
recycle or resell the scrap. Vikoz Enterprises Inc. sends collection and transport vehicles to plants and
areas across the U.S. and Canada. Because of their active effort to collect plastic, Vikoz is the largest
plastic recycler in the U.S. and Canada (12)
Biggest types of recycled plastic
There are 7 standard recycling codes for plastic, shown with a triangular chasing arrow symbol with a
number inside as pictured in figure 2, in the appendix. The first plastic is PET/PETE, Polyethylene
Terephthalate. PET is used in most water and soda bottles and also in some packaging. PET is
susceptible to leaching and bacterial growth, so it should not be reused, but it is easily be recycled.
High Density Polyethylene, HDPE, is a stiff plastic that is often used to make products such as milk
jugs, oil bottles, toys, and plastic bags. HDPE is also very durable, and often used for outdoor
furniture and other products that require weather resistance and durability. HDPE is a very safe plastic,
and is easily recycled for secondary uses or reused.
PVC or Polyvinyl Chloride is a soft flexible plastic that is used for pipes, computer cable sheaths,
children and pet toys and packaging. PVC is also resistant to outdoor exposer and is used to make
numerous outdoor products. Only about 1% of PVC is recycled. PVC leaches numerous toxins during
its lifetime, and therefore should not be reused. Additionally, burning PVC releases many hazardous
chemicals including chlorine, which is deadly.
Low Density Polyethylene, LDPE, is commonly used to make packaging, bottles and grocery bags.
LDPE is generally safe to reuse, but it is not commonly recycled. Few places recycle LDPE, and
recycled LDPE is used for secondary uses, such as plastic lumber, landscaping boards, and floor tiles.
Polypropylene, PP, is a lightweight plastic that is both tough and heat resistant. PP is used for food
packaging, disposable diapers, bottle caps, and packing tape. PP is safe to reuse, and is recycled in
some areas. Currently, only 3% of PP is recycled, but more programs are beginning to accept PP
products.
Polystyrene, PS, is a lightweight material

Leonato And Antonio Foil
In almost every book there are character foils, even if there are no antagonists. In the book Much Ado
About Nothing, there are many romances, fights, and hatred between characters. The couples of
Benedick and Beatrice, and Claudio and Hero all describe a love between them, and the very same for
hatred. Much ado about nothing is about all of the romance that can go through rough patches. In
Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare, Antonio is a foil for Leonato because of their
opinions, emotions, and thoughts.
The opinions of Antonio and Leonato differ by many standards of their own. This is happening during
the wedding of Hero and Claudio and it happens after the shaming. An example of this is when
Leonato said Hence from her, Let her die (Shakespeare 70). When Leonato says this he is at a

margaret had made claudio to think that she was a very bad person. This quote states to Leonato that
others shall suffer too. On the other hand Antonio claims Yet bend not all the harm upon yourself.
Make those that do offend you suffer too (Shakespeare 82). Antonio says this because he thinks that
the people who shame or offend leonatos family should suffer along with him. Antonio and Leonato

The Gig Is USmmary
The Gig Is Up by Nathan Heller is a lengthy article that appeared in The New Yorker, an American
magazine. In his article, Heller explains that more and more people are relying on a gig economy as
their source of income. He focuses on the millennials more than any other generation because they
seem to rely on this economy more. Although gigging can make life a lot more simple, Heller leaves
his audience with a lingering question. Can they survive it? He sets the stage for his audience by
telling a personal experience of his. He moved into an apartment but minor tasks such as hanging
picture frames and artwork had yet to be finished. When the incompletion of tasks became
overwhelming he found an online source, TaskRabbit, and hired someone to complete the tasks for
him. He found a man by the name of Seth F., who wore no tie but had a ninety nine percent approval

A final conversation with Flickers leaves the audience wondering how great the gig economy actually

economy is such a lonely economy (Heller 63). Not only does the excerpt appeal to ethos but also
pathos. The strategies used throughout the article make the audience think about the opportunities the
gig economy provides but also the problems it can create as well. Highly educated people like Seth
Flickers who are a part of this economy are now more than ever before, aware of the careers that they
re not pursuing (Heller 55). When people work twenty or less hours a week, like Seth F., there tends to
be more time to think about how comfortable they are with the way of life. The gig economy does not

Los Angeles Civil Unrest Analysis
. The Los Angeles Civil Unrest in 1992 is the most destructive event happened in the United States.
Many Korean immigrant merchants in the South Central suffered a lot during the Unrest. According to
Professor Park s PowerPoint, there were at least 2,300 Korean owned businesses suffered a partial or
total loss of their properties with damage estimated to exceed $350 million, or nearly 50 percent of the
total damage for the city of Los Angeles (Park). When the Unrest first started, the Korean community

Korean Americans racial relations with Latinos changed after the 1992 Civil Unrest. The relationships
between Korean and Latinos are described as labor relations. Korean merchants employed Latino
workers more than any other ethnic groups because the cost for Latino labors is less costly. (Park,
1997). In addition, many Latinos believed that Korean Americans have a positive impact on their
neighborhoods because Korean owned businesses provide employment opportunities for Latino
immigrants (Park, p.147). Even though the relationship between Korean and Latino seems peaceful,
but both ethnic groups still need to pay special attention when encounter each other in public spaces
outside of the workspace. (Park, 1997). Many Latino workers develop a strong relationship with their
Korean American employers because they worked together for a very long time and are familiar with
each other s culture customs. After the 1992 Civil Unrest, the relationship between some Korean
Latino changed negatively. Some Latinos have negative experiences with Korean merchants before,
where they received black breaking low wage job and usually work overtime (Park, p.148). Those
Latinos looted many Korean merchants businesses during the Unrest. Overall the relationship between
Korean American and Latinos shifted from a negative role to a positive one, Korean and Latin
American immigrants they not only share cultural space by working together but have developed close
relationships through socializing and by aiding one another (Park, p.164). Compared to the
relationship between Korean Americans and Latinos, the relationship between Korean Americans and
Blacks is not so well. There are a lot of tensions between Blacks and Korean Americans; they both
view each other as an outsider of the American society. According to Park s article, The Racial

Essay On College Stakeholders
The key stakeholders of education include traditional four year non profit universities/colleges and for
profit colleges, state and federal government funding agencies, students and parents, and employers of
students who graduate college. The main alignment between non profit universities/colleges and for
profit colleges revolve around their desire for an increase in student quality, increase in faculty quality,
increase in student population, increase in prestige, and thus consequently an increase in revenues. All
types of colleges are trying to increase their endowment by raising tuition charges, admitting more
students, hosting fundraisers, and asking for donation from their alumni. The main policy that colleges

in debt, and receive their college education. Most students usually decide to take the loan because of
the policy of employers. Employers of students who graduate college align with non profit colleges,
for profit colleges, and government funding agencies with the idea of having a higher number of
students attending colleges. These employers want to hire people who are highly skilled in their
respective fields and want people who can apply their skills well in a corporate setting. These
employer institute policies such as requiring a minimum degree to apply for a job position and

Efficacy Of Treatment For Social Phobia
Review
A couple of researchers at the Anxiety Disorders Research Center in the Department of Psychology at
the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) examined weaknesses of CBT (Craske et al.,
2014). Although CBT has been known for the most effective treatment for social phobia, not all
patients show improvements after the treatment. Patients easily drop out during, or at the early stage
of the treatment. Even patients who successfully finished the entire session tend to have a hard time
continuing to use methods they learned and to maintain low level of anxiety, so the likelihood of
reoccurrence exists. Therefore, alternative ways to solve these weaknesses are needed in order to
develop the treatment itself and to provide the most matchable treatment method for each patient,
according to the article by Craske et al. (2014).
The goals of this study were to examine the efficacy of ACT compared to CBT and to find the
intermediating risk factors of each treatment (Craske et al., 2014). The first hypothesis was that social
anxiety disorder patients who have a moderate level of cognitive misappraisals will show better
improvements if they received CBT compared to ACT. In addition, researchers hypothesized that
patients who received CBT also will outperform patients receiving ACT when they have a high level
of avoidance. Another hypothesis they chose to examine was that with a comorbid mood disorder,
social anxiety disorder patients will show better outcomes with ACT than

Leg Pain in a 22 Year Old Female Soccer Player
A 22 year old female soccer player has had a 3 month history of deep aching pain in the antero lateral
right leg and on some occasions, bilaterally (1). The pain occurs within 15 to 20 minutes of her
training regime or upon commencing a run. She reported symptoms of tightness in her anterior leg,
and weakness of ankle dorsi flexors (1). She described that symptoms worsened as the exercise
duration was prolonged. When activity ceased, symptoms were alleviated, though pain would return if
she re engaged in the activity. Upon attempting to continue training, she developed numbness in the
foot. On examination, mild tenderness was noted on palpation of the antero lateral compartment (1).
This case study presents an individual who is experiencing frequent leg pain upon participation in
physical activity. Leg pain is a common condition experienced by competitive and recreational
athletes. However, the diagnosis of leg pain can be difficult as there are numerous possible underlying
contributors. A thorough comprehension of human anatomy and biomechanics is essential for a proper
understanding (2). Chronic Exertional Compartment Syndrome is one of the most common conditions
experienced by athletes (1,2). Of a group of 150 athletes who reported exercise induced pain, 33 %
were diagnosed with chronic exertional compartment syndrome (CECS) (2). Although mostly athletes
experience CECS, it is still prevalent amongst non athletes (3).

disadvantages. In a positive sense, it has allowed me to establish a professional presence that I use to

changed the way I communicate with friends and family members, which has stifled some

Typically, when I think of someone as a friend, I don t consider my Facebook friends first, but rather
the people who I have recently interacted with on a more personal level. Even though one has the
ability to have hundreds, or even thousands, more Facebook friends than might be feasible for real
life, I do not believe that Facebook has changed the upper limits of friendship previously set by nature
but rather serves as a supplement for real world friendships and a breeding ground for digital
friendships. Although most users have well below Professor Robin Dunbar s upper limit of 150
friends, the Dunbar number, most of my Facebook friends have between 200 and 2,000 friends (The
Virtual Revolution). Personally, I have 705 Facebook friends which includes real world friends, digital
friends, family members, acquaintances, and even some celebrities. However, I only associate with a
handful of these friends, mostly real world friends and family members, and I don t consider each one
of these 705 friendships the same way. A major advantage of Facebook is that it allows me to maintain

Dawa Center s (BODC) mission statement is as follows: Bilal Oromo Dawa Center is a charitable,

community. As I have come to find out, BODC is a community center that offers many different
services for all its community members. The services range from tutoring services, weekend school
for Islamic studies, funeral services, Friday congregational prayers, family and marriage counseling,
youth sports, and general community services. BODC is a relatively new organization; however, they
stem from Tawfiq Islamic Center in North Minneapolis. Tawfiq Islamic Center (TIC) has been open to
the community since 2004 and is still open. TIC and BODC share a similar community member base
and actively cooperate to better the community.
I have been aware of TIC since it was opened on inaugural day and practically grew up in that facility
as I attended practically every event they have set up. I attended weekend school during my
adolescence, and I eventually became a teacher s assistant for the program. It would be an

A star linebacker s career is threatened by a blackmailer, and his life spirals out of control after a
debilitating tackle causes a devastating injury to his a good friend.
STORY COMMENTS
FULL CONTACT gives an intriguing inside look at the world of competitive football. It focuses on
the pressure that comes with becoming a star player. The script highlights themes about second
chances and redemption.
While there are definitely features that are well crafted, the script would benefit from further
development.
The main concern is that the script tries to tell two different storylines, each of which, are different
story types.
First, there s a drama story has some compelling elements. It focuses on the pressure of winning at all
cost. It ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The timeline is unknown and these scenes don t feel well contacted to the plot. Eventually, this leads
to Jake talking to a group of people. It s not the best structure to use.
As the story progresses, the structure jumps back and forth from being a drama to being a thriller.
When it focuses on Jake s life as a child on the farm, his relationship with his family, the death of his
father, his friendship with Chase, the pressure of hitting hard, questioning the equipment, Jake and
Chase s relationship arc, and Jake and Chase mentoring others about the safety of football it s
considered a drama.
When it s about Henry taking pictures of Jake and blackmailing him, and abducting his family it s a
thriller. However, this story as structured isn t fully developed. First, the years span too long for a
thriller. A thriller has to have more urgency and should be in one timeline. It s unclear how the pictures
of Chase with another woman are relevant to the plot. Consider cutting.
The subplot about Jake doing drugs isn t fully developed. Either expand this in a thriller or cut it. One
can see how it would work in a true thriller with the blackmailer showing how he can control and
manipulate Jake, but it doesn t work as currently executed, because there s no consequence to the
allegation or

BCMA In Rocket Boys
Her mouth was still open. What color is that?
My suit? I looked at my sleeve. I dunno. It s sort of an orange, I guess.
Orange! You bought an orange suit?
I shrugged. Well, yeah... (Hickam Jr. 334)
In Rocket Boys, there are numerous members of the BCMA (Big Creek Missile Agency), all with
varying personalities and traits they bring to the rocket club. Sonny (Homer), the protagonist of the
memoir is a teenager trying not to stumble through high school. He acts like an adolescent boy,
chasing girls, getting into fights, and often overlooking his appearance. The passage I chose shows his
naivety, and his young innocence, through attitude and language, conveyed by the author to depict a
teenager. But his disregard to the opinions

How Princess Culture Is All Round Us
Princess culture is all round us, whether we realize it or not. Princess culture incorporates many
downfalls to women. We have all grown up with the pressures of this culture. Women are viewed as
lower than the man, having to struggle in a male dominated society. Stereotypes, racial issues and
marginality are just a few predicaments that women had been portrayed as, in the world of the princess
culture. Many Cinderella stories have been told in many different cultures that come from all around
the globe. Rob Baum correctly stated, Folktales had their origins in oral accounts, stories told by
people before the advent of writing, or before someone determined them worthy of literary
transcription Socrates). People only took up the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another stereotype taught from Disney is that men are saviors. In Rapunzel, she is saved from the
tower by a man. In the Lion King, Simba returns to his pride to save, what is left of his father s pride,
which is shown to be mostly females, A scene in this move, Nala tells Simba that he is their only hope
signifying that a man can only save females. Hercules stereotypes that men must be hot, buff and
white. During the movies, Snow White and Cinderella, the women are forced to do chores such as
cooking cleaning. When there is a woman in charge, back to The Little Mermaid, the sea witch Ursula,
had just about as much power as Kind Triton, but she was portrayed as evil. Jessica Rose pointed out,
The perception of women are either weak victims in a male dominated society or evil and corrupt
when in a position of equal or higher status (Prezie).
The story of Cinderella has many different versions, from all dissimilar cultures. As we know our
Cinderella, the story contains many females. The stepmother, stepsistes, the fairygod mother, and
herself. Cinderella only gets her happily ever after due to her natural beuty and being able to stomp
over the ones who tried to conceal her. This demonstrates that females compete with each other to
have the marital status they want. Cinderella wins, because she pretends to be something she is truly
not. In an article Laure Liddle wrote, she theorizes, It is vital that Cinderella must impress her

The World Is A Beautiful Place Poem Analysis
The world is a beautiful place to live in blissful ignorance. The grassy meadows, the alluring sunset
and the serene waters are a few of many scenery that beguile human beings into believing that the
world is beautiful. Lawrence Ferlinghetti s life experiences as an orphan and a soldier in World War II
had shown him the flaws of society that has existed in many generations such as hunger, death and
inequality. To raise consciousness of the world, he used his literature to achieve this goal. In the
didactic poem, The World is a Beautiful Place , Lawrence Ferlinghetti reveals the brutal truth of the
world in order to break the narrow minded and ignorant outlook people have towards the world. Many
poetic devices were used to emphasize the theme of the poem. Repetition and imagery was used to
remind the readers of the underlying bitter tone of the poem while showcasing the different life scenes
in the world. Enjambment was also used throughout the poem to ... Show more content on

There are always two sides of the world that shouldn t be ignored, but instead should be noticed and
appreciated by all humans. William Ferlinghetti s brutal honesty introduces readers to the balance of
goodness and wickedness in the world. The World is a Beautiful Place is a didactic poem that uses
various literary devices to emphasize the theme. Repetition and imagery was used to give readers an
extensive view of the scenes in life and reminds them of the underlying message in the poem.
Enjambment was also used to display the poet s never ending train of thoughts of societal problems
and enjoyment, while death and ignorance are the archetype and connotation of the poem that give
readers a deeper understanding of the universal balance of life. Beauty comes from the eye of the
beholder and when one say that the world is beautiful, they should acknowledge both the problems
and blessings of the world to truly appreciate

Observations In Homer s Odyssey
Homer attributed author of the Odyssey is an enigma of mystery and wonder with unique tendencies.
Since Homer was born in an era of pre literacy, much speculation surrounds his birth ( Homer 6). He
was supposedly the son of Epikaste and Telemachus born around 8th to 7th century B.C. However,
this is all conjecture since his ancestry is being traced from the Odyssey. Several cities claim Homer
as their native son, yet the most compelling deduction is he was born in Ionia; the reasoning behind
this is that the dialect that The Odyssey was written in is considered Ionic Greek ( Homer 9). Whether
he even existed is considered to be a great literary mystery coined the Homeric Question ( Homer 5).
Nevertheless, he is said to be a bard

Daniel Suarez Against The Evolution Of Robots
Daniel Suarez is against the evolution of robots and creating robots with the power to kill. The new
technological inventions are taking power and responsibility away from humans and putting it into the
hands of the machines. This creates a new problem where the machines, especially autonomous
weapons in the military, have increased power and are vulnerable to hacking that could cause them to
turn on us. By creating lethally autonomous robotic weapons, fewer people will fight in wars and risk
their lives, thus increasing the power of the few because they will not require as much assistance
anymore. Combat drones contain dozens of cameras that create so much footage that we will need to
create software to process all of it. That means the visual

The Importance Of Moral Education In To Kill A Mockingbird
Atticus says cheatin a colored man is ten times worse than cheatin a white man. Says it s the worst
thing you can do, (Lee, 201). In today s day and age, it is a standard to have morals and values that
reflect on what you should show on a daily basis. Well, in Horton Foote s screenplay based on Harper
Lee s, To Kill a Mockingbird, many people do not have standard morals that you would find in the
modern 21st century. However, there is some hope. Atticus, a lawyer, and father of the main
characters, Scout and Jem, has taught them right from wrong. It is important to Atticus that Scout and
Jem have correct morals. This is a reoccurring thing and a theme that keeps its dignity throughout the
novel. The theme is the importance of moral education because of the book. First, Calpurnia taught
about judging. Calpurnia is the Finch s maid or house lady. However, since Atticus s wife died
Calpurnia is more like a mother figure to Scout and Jem. When Walter Cunningham Jr. came over to
the Finch s house for dinner, Walter asked for syrup and then a few moments later Calpurnia brought it
out for him. Scout said, What in the Sam Hill are you doing, Walter? (Foote 33). Calpurnia stepping
up told Scout to follow her in the kitchen. Calpurnia then said, That boy is your company, and if he
wants to eat up that tablecloth, you let him, you here? And if you can t act fit to eat like folks, you can
just set here and eat in the kitchen (Foote 34). Calpurnia was just pointing out to

Lee Harvey Oswald s JFK Assassination
Two days after the JFK assassination, the official suspect, Lee Harvey Oswald, was shot dead by Jack
Ruby, a Dallas strip club owner. Oswald s famous remark that I m just a patsy (Warren Commission
Hearings, vol.20, p.366) inevitably led to suspicions that his murder was a convenient execution.
Rumours suggested that Jack Ruby had been involved not only in the cover up but also in President
Kennedy s assassination itself. The Warren Commission attempted to show that these stories were
mistaken and that Ruby s murder of Oswald, just like Oswald s murder of Kennedy, was simply the
act of a deranged lone gunman (Warren Report, pp.333 373). The House Select Committee on
Assassinations was more critical: HSCA Report, appendix vol.9, pp.127 148; see also What Did the
Warren Commission Say about Jack Ruby?.
Nevertheless, the rumours and conspiracy theories persisted. Ruby was supposed to have: delivered a
rifle to the grassy knoll; known Lee Harvey Oswald before the assassination; been a spectator in
Dealey Plaza during the assassination.

Divine Gods In Gilgamesh
Talia Barreira
DWC 101 0001
14 September, 2017
The Divine Humanity Though God(s) are thought of as innocent and fair, does that mean that they
always behave that way? Flood stories are a common practice in writing for many cultures; they are
used for the destruction of mankind and a taught lesson to those in humanity. In the Bible it is shown
the wickedness of mankind heart verse the obnoxious disaster the people in the story of Gilgamesh
had created, which nevertheless lead to the floods. Not knowing what the outcome would lead to, the
enthusiastic men who are a major part of the stories went for this long journey. It is also shown the
God of the Bible who is sorrowful for the men he has created verse the Gods who are angry with their
dwellers.
Before the floods occurred the Gods had to make a decision regarding their people; what was their
punishment for their crimes going to be? The Bible expresses God s sadness for his people. He is lost
for words at how they think and react to his presence. As emphasized, The Lord saw that the
wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was
only evil continually (Gen 6. 5). In Gilgamesh the Gods are not saddened by their dwellers like The
Lord, instead they were angry at the catastrophic lifestyle the people were living. In both cases though,
the Gods were put through enough and came to the conclusion of the floods; with teaching the lesson
of respect and honor while also

Female Characters In Beowulf Essay
I find myself disagreeing with the above statement. It is clear to me that within the epic poem Beowulf
, the narrative is mostly dominated by poems male characters. Beowulf, Grendel, Hrothgar all have
major roles in the poems narrative, the poem is written from the male perspective and its central
themes of bravery, violence and heroism are associated with the male characters. This would lead one
to agree with the above statement, that the roles of the female characters in beowulf are minor and
easily forgotten due to the fact that they are mostly in the background, but upon closer inspection it
has become clear to me that the female characters of Beowulf play a very important role in
contributing to the poem s narrative.

The Market Street Railway, Sutter Street Railroad, and the San Francisco San Mateo Railway merged
in 1902 to become the United Railroads of San Francisco (URR). The URR was created by the
aggressive capitalist consolidator and modernizer named Patrick Calhoun. An early project was to
make uniform the rolling stock and track gauges, which led to the abandonment of the last four miles
of horsecars that had been the backbone of transportation just a generation earlier. By this stage, the
company had changed hands again. Over the years many independent lines had been absorbed,

Isolation And Isolation
Isolation: A Teen s Greatest Fear
An increasing number of teens often feel isolated every single day. This feeling is triggered by many
factors that are experienced in the teenage years and has a variety of negative impacts associated with
it. Throughout all aspects of a teen s life, whether it is school or relationships, the fear of being
isolated is often present. Isolation often causes many other negative emotions to bundle up inside
teens which causes them to take extreme measures to get rid of these feelings. One s unique physical
appearance and society s unrealistic standards, the fear of branching out from their families, and not
having their opinion heard are all factors that contribute to a teen s greatest fear, isolation.

with a typical style of clothing. For instance, in 18th century France the sans culottes (translated to
those without britches ) were the unruly lower class that would wear, long trousers...[and] special

Pros And Disadvantages Of Delusion
Delusions
Variable Disadvantage
Delusions are beliefs that have no basis in reality. The character refuses to abandon such beliefs even
in the face of evidence to the contrary or at best comes up with rationalizations to explain away any
contradictions.
Prejudice: The belief that a group of people has certain characteristics. While everyone has some
prejudices in some way or another, a delusional person staunchly holds to these beliefs. In some cases,
the person refuses to trust or befriend any member of such a group, regardless of the merits of the
individual person. Such a Delusion is worth 1 to 3 points, depending on how intense the belief is, how
large a group it applies to, and how it dominates the character s life. At the 1 point level, the character
could be an Archie Bunker type bigot; at 3 points, he would be a rabid Human/Faunus supremacist.
Delusions of Grandeur: This person thinks they are somebody far greater and more powerful than they
really are. The most common type has an exaggerated sense of overconfidence: I am a genius, but
nobody understands me which is why the best job I ve held is the cashier at a 7 11 (1 point); I am the
Messiah; prepare for the Second Coming! (3 points).
Phobia: This Disadvantage is worth 1 to 3 points depending on the severity. 1 point represents a mild
discomfort while 3 points represent an intense fear, maybe even to the point of anxiety.
Emotional Problems
Variable Disadvantage
Those with Emotional Problems react in unreasonable ways to some situations. The reaction can be
anger, sadness or anguish, typically more extreme than normal. These emotional problems can be
triggered by distressful but relatively ordinary events in normal life; they prompt a very strong
reaction.
Fear of Rejection: This person is afraid of rejection. People with this problem may be afraid to make
friends or approach people they are attracted to. If their fears come true they will harbor a great deal of
resentment. This is a 1 point Disadvantage.
Depression: This character s emotional problems make the very act of living seem like a hard chore.
Common symptoms of Depression include sleep problems, severe procrastination, and a lack of
interest in anything. A character with

  • 4. The Life of Galileo The Battle For Truth Throughout the course of history, from era to era, mankind has been on a continuous attempt to perpetuate what they perceive as the truth; and in doing so, embark on a quest to find their true identity and place in life. One must realize that the common theme in all literature is the search for identity and belonging. Bertolt Brecht, author of The Life of Galileo, effectively uses the developing character Galileo Galilei to portray a strong message; a message which five hundred years after the fact has still not been completely comprehended. Through Galileo s continuous battle with the Church in prevailing his work, Brecht is telling the readers that in any one man s attempt to propagate the truth, whether it ... (Brecht 40) LITTLE MONK: ...You ve won. GALILEO: It has won! Not me, reason has won! (Brecht 40) After the Old Cardinal implicitly tells Galileo that his research and teachings symbolize atheism, he is approached by Clavius whom tells Galileo that he is right and that he is invited to Rome to show his research. It is interesting to see Galileo s response in crediting reason for his achievement. It is here where the reader sees Galileo s thoughts and perceptions on life; that science and its achievements should not only be credited to the founder yet the society that encourages these findings; that the progress of human kind as a whole should be the objective of inventions. Using Galileo, Brecht continuously stresses these points throughout the play and is making it clear that he is against the notion of the discouragement of ideas, inventions, and thinking. Although external forces such as the church and other characters do not influence Galileo s personal belief, there are also internal forces, such as the battle against self, that also influence Galileo s perception on both his work and human kind. It is through his experiences with Andrea, the young protégé of Galileo, that we see the character of Galileo at the beginning of the play. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

His name means quot;He who was born at the home of his mother s parents quot;, which was in Talwandi, near Labone ( quot;Sikhs quot; 647). We know little about Nanak s life but a lot about his beliefs from a book called quot; Adi Granth quot; or quot; Granth Sahib quot;, which means holy book. Some of his beliefs were the reality of quot;karma quot; and quot;reincarnation quot;.These are beliefs that our actions in this life determine how high or low we ll be in our next life. Guru Amar Das appointed, as his successor, his son in law Jetha or Ram Das. Guru Ram Das built the golden temple in Amritsar on the land given to him by emperor Akbor. Before then the Guru ship was given to someone who deserved it, but from that point on it was given to a family member. So, Ram Das gave it to his third son Arjan Dev, a legendary hero of his time. Guru Arjan Dev put together the quot;Granth Sahib quot;, supposedly taking it from the works of Amar Das. Before he died, Guru Arjan told his son Hargobind to wear, when he became Guru, not one but two swords because one stood for quot;piri quot;, the continuing authority of the Guru and the other stood for quot;miri quot; the newly assumed secular authority (McLeod 4). It was from his secular authority that the Panth or Sikh community developed, always arming themselves out of fear of the Mughal forces. The death of Arjan is not clear but it probably did occur while he was in Mughal custody. All the soldier that were supposed to arrive at Fox Green landed farther to the east. But troops from Companies E and F were pushed by the current from Easy Red, and they took the place of the 16th Regiment troops that were pushed to the east. The downside was that they came in under heavy fire and had almost no cover, mainly because of the lack of a seawall on that section of the beach. Easy Red was the largest section of Omaha Beach. Over 50% of this section was in between two of the German strong points. The Engineers of the 37th and 149th Engineer Combat Battalions gave it their all trying to make a path through the German defenses in the water. While this was happening, Company E of the 116th was trying to flank the strong point that was farther to the west. They had help from two of the navy destroyers, and a few other destroyers helped provide cover for the troops being landed, one of them being the USS Frankford. The 18th Regiment of the 1st Division was landed around 09:30 hours. They only lost 28 landing boats when the troops were being landed, and they managed to land with better success than the 16th did. • 7. Kant And Morality When talking about whether or not consequences of an act have anything to do with morality, one must think of all the ways in which an individual s acts could be considered morally wrong. Morality relates to conduct, whereas they both involve some type of action that is partaken by the individual, which can be mistaken as being good even though the consequences are considered bad (Dewey, 1891).When a person performs an action, and the outcome of that action is a negative one, we often find ourselves blaming anything other than the individual themselves because we believe they had no foresight on what was going to happen. Dewey describes that when conduct and character are involved in telling if somebody is being moral, or immoral, we are unable to say whether or not the action was good or bad until we know how that action turns out and we know what the consequences are. (Dewey, 1891). In order to decide whether or not a consequence of an action is morally good, or morally wrong, one must first recognize ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I learned that working capital is the requirements for running normal business operations on a daily basis. It is the necessary amount needed to keep the doors open and is analyzed for a period of about a year. Working capital is essential for fulfilling business operating needs. Also, the level of fixed assets and current assets depends on the expected sales but only the current assets can be adjusted with fluctuating sales in a diminutive period. Most importantly, time must be considered when managing fixed assets. Discounting and compounding of time play a major role in capital budgeting and a minor role in the management of current assets. Ultimately, a business can survive without appropriate working capital policy, but a firm without working capital has a much smaller life span than businesses that are well capitalized. Working Capital Policy Introduction: Working Capital is the single most important component of a business or firm because it has a direct impact on the cash flows. Working capital is the capital you require for the working functioning of your business in the short run (BBI). There are two types of working capital; gross working capital and net working capital. Gross working capital is current assets. Net working capital is the difference between current assets and current liabilities. • 9. Disadvantages Of Plastic Recycling Another approach to plastic recycling is to actively collect plastic from a large region, and to either recycle or resell the scrap. Vikoz Enterprises Inc. sends collection and transport vehicles to plants and areas across the U.S. and Canada. Because of their active effort to collect plastic, Vikoz is the largest plastic recycler in the U.S. and Canada (12) Biggest types of recycled plastic There are 7 standard recycling codes for plastic, shown with a triangular chasing arrow symbol with a number inside as pictured in figure 2, in the appendix. The first plastic is PET/PETE, Polyethylene Terephthalate. PET is used in most water and soda bottles and also in some packaging. PET is susceptible to leaching and bacterial growth, so it should not be reused, but it is easily be recycled. High Density Polyethylene, HDPE, is a stiff plastic that is often used to make products such as milk jugs, oil bottles, toys, and plastic bags. HDPE is also very durable, and often used for outdoor furniture and other products that require weather resistance and durability. HDPE is a very safe plastic, and is easily recycled for secondary uses or reused. PVC or Polyvinyl Chloride is a soft flexible plastic that is used for pipes, computer cable sheaths, children and pet toys and packaging. PVC is also resistant to outdoor exposer and is used to make numerous outdoor products. Only about 1% of PVC is recycled. PVC leaches numerous toxins during its lifetime, and therefore should not be reused. Additionally, burning PVC releases many hazardous chemicals including chlorine, which is deadly. Low Density Polyethylene, LDPE, is commonly used to make packaging, bottles and grocery bags. LDPE is generally safe to reuse, but it is not commonly recycled. Few places recycle LDPE, and recycled LDPE is used for secondary uses, such as plastic lumber, landscaping boards, and floor tiles. Polypropylene, PP, is a lightweight plastic that is both tough and heat resistant. PP is used for food packaging, disposable diapers, bottle caps, and packing tape. PP is safe to reuse, and is recycled in some areas. Currently, only 3% of PP is recycled, but more programs are beginning to accept PP products. Polystyrene, PS, is a lightweight material ... In the book Much Ado About Nothing, there are many romances, fights, and hatred between characters. The couples of Benedick and Beatrice, and Claudio and Hero all describe a love between them, and the very same for hatred. Much ado about nothing is about all of the romance that can go through rough patches. In Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare, Antonio is a foil for Leonato because of their opinions, emotions, and thoughts. The opinions of Antonio and Leonato differ by many standards of their own. This is happening during the wedding of Hero and Claudio and it happens after the shaming. In his article, Heller explains that more and more people are relying on a gig economy as their source of income. He focuses on the millennials more than any other generation because they seem to rely on this economy more. Although gigging can make life a lot more simple, Heller leaves his audience with a lingering question. Can they survive it? He sets the stage for his audience by telling a personal experience of his. He moved into an apartment but minor tasks such as hanging picture frames and artwork had yet to be finished. The strategies used throughout the article make the audience think about the opportunities the gig economy provides but also the problems it can create as well. Highly educated people like Seth Flickers who are a part of this economy are now more than ever before, aware of the careers that they re not pursuing (Heller 55). Korean Americans racial relations with Latinos changed after the 1992 Civil Unrest. The relationships between Korean and Latinos are described as labor relations. Korean merchants employed Latino workers more than any other ethnic groups because the cost for Latino labors is less costly. (Park, 1997). In addition, many Latinos believed that Korean Americans have a positive impact on their neighborhoods because Korean owned businesses provide employment opportunities for Latino immigrants (Park, p.147). Even though the relationship between Korean and Latino seems peaceful, but both ethnic groups still need to pay special attention when encounter each other in public spaces outside of the workspace. (Park, 1997). Many Latino workers develop a strong relationship with their Korean American employers because they worked together for a very long time and are familiar with each other s culture customs. After the 1992 Civil Unrest, the relationship between some Korean Latino changed negatively. Some Latinos have negative experiences with Korean merchants before, where they received black breaking low wage job and usually work overtime (Park, p.148). Those Latinos looted many Korean merchants businesses during the Unrest. Overall the relationship between Korean American and Latinos shifted from a negative role to a positive one, Korean and Latin American immigrants they not only share cultural space by working together but have developed close relationships through socializing and by aiding one another (Park, p.164). Essay On College Stakeholders The key stakeholders of education include traditional four year non profit universities/colleges and for profit colleges, state and federal government funding agencies, students and parents, and employers of students who graduate college. The main alignment between non profit universities/colleges and for profit colleges revolve around their desire for an increase in student quality, increase in faculty quality, increase in student population, increase in prestige, and thus consequently an increase in revenues. All types of colleges are trying to increase their endowment by raising tuition charges, admitting more students, hosting fundraisers, and asking for donation from their alumni. Most students usually decide to take the loan because of the policy of employers. Employers of students who graduate college align with non profit colleges, for profit colleges, and government funding agencies with the idea of having a higher number of students attending colleges. These employers want to hire people who are highly skilled in their respective fields and want people who can apply their skills well in a corporate setting. • 15. Efficacy Of Treatment For Social Phobia Review A couple of researchers at the Anxiety Disorders Research Center in the Department of Psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) examined weaknesses of CBT (Craske et al., 2014). Although CBT has been known for the most effective treatment for social phobia, not all patients show improvements after the treatment. Patients easily drop out during, or at the early stage of the treatment. Even patients who successfully finished the entire session tend to have a hard time continuing to use methods they learned and to maintain low level of anxiety, so the likelihood of reoccurrence exists. Therefore, alternative ways to solve these weaknesses are needed in order to develop the treatment itself and to provide the most matchable treatment method for each patient, according to the article by Craske et al. (2014). The goals of this study were to examine the efficacy of ACT compared to CBT and to find the intermediating risk factors of each treatment (Craske et al., 2014). The first hypothesis was that social anxiety disorder patients who have a moderate level of cognitive misappraisals will show better improvements if they received CBT compared to ACT. In addition, researchers hypothesized that patients who received CBT also will outperform patients receiving ACT when they have a high level of avoidance. Another hypothesis they chose to examine was that with a comorbid mood disorder, social anxiety disorder patients will show better outcomes with ACT than ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Leg Pain in a 22 Year Old Female Soccer Player A 22 year old female soccer player has had a 3 month history of deep aching pain in the antero lateral right leg and on some occasions, bilaterally (1). The pain occurs within 15 to 20 minutes of her training regime or upon commencing a run. She reported symptoms of tightness in her anterior leg, and weakness of ankle dorsi flexors (1). She described that symptoms worsened as the exercise duration was prolonged. When activity ceased, symptoms were alleviated, though pain would return if she re engaged in the activity. Upon attempting to continue training, she developed numbness in the foot. On examination, mild tenderness was noted on palpation of the antero lateral compartment (1). This case study presents an individual who is experiencing frequent leg pain upon participation in physical activity. Leg pain is a common condition experienced by competitive and recreational athletes. However, the diagnosis of leg pain can be difficult as there are numerous possible underlying contributors. A thorough comprehension of human anatomy and biomechanics is essential for a proper understanding (2). Chronic Exertional Compartment Syndrome is one of the most common conditions experienced by athletes (1,2). Of a group of 150 athletes who reported exercise induced pain, 33 % were diagnosed with chronic exertional compartment syndrome (CECS) (2). Even though one has the ability to have hundreds, or even thousands, more Facebook friends than might be feasible for real life, I do not believe that Facebook has changed the upper limits of friendship previously set by nature but rather serves as a supplement for real world friendships and a breeding ground for digital friendships. Although most users have well below Professor Robin Dunbar s upper limit of 150 friends, the Dunbar number, most of my Facebook friends have between 200 and 2,000 friends (The Virtual Revolution). Before the floods occurred the Gods had to make a decision regarding their people; what was their punishment for their crimes going to be? The Bible expresses God s sadness for his people. He is lost for words at how they think and react to his presence. As emphasized, The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually (Gen 6. 5).
