A Comparison Of Haitian Rap And Rap
Haitian descent rappers in Montreal and rap Kreyol artists from Haiti were both introduced to rap
music the same way listening to imported, bootleg tapes made in America. Although, both groups
located at different areas around the globe, they produce their music using American hip hop beats.
The Haitian people blend it with customary Kreyol language while the artist in Montreal rap in French
and mix in their own language codes (Vertus 2016). Both groups rapping about the socioeconomic
challenges faced every day like poverty, ghetto life, and the drug culture. Haiti s more lenient when it
comes to accepting hip hop into their culture and has grown considerably and undergone many
changes over the past years. In comparison with the people

Alla Ajuera Summary
Allá Ajuera is a dramatic poem that shows the exchange between a mother and a son. The son wants to
play outside, but his mom is afraid for him. He does not understand why his mother is so against him
going outside. He says to his mother quiero vivir allá ajuera showing that the child feels like he is not
allowed to live freely if he is inside all of the time. His mother responds and tells him no mijo, allá
ajüera no no con los niños no con los del patrón. It is safe to make the assumption that the boss is a
white man and does not want her son to go outside and play where the boss s children are playing in
fear of the children causing problems and her son being blamed and her having to face any
consequences. To avoid this, she does not want her son to play outside. The son wants to be a child
and be happy, but his mother wants to shield him from the harsh reality that the world that he lived in
did not want him to be happy. The son questions his mother and asks her Father Josue says God loves
us And he says we gonna be happy/When we die...tell me why we gotta wait Why we gotta die/To be
happy. His mother responds así lo quiso diocito, mijo. The son is innocent and naive and does not
know why he cannot be like the other children and have fun playing outside. The only explanation the
mother is able to offer to him is that this is the way God intended it to be and there is nothing that can
be done to change the circumstances. Lastly, after the mother has made her

Interview Of A Patrol Officer
Interview of a Patrol Officer

MJA 5340 Policing in America
May 6, 2016 Abstract
An examination of the patrol officer s jobs and duties took place. The gathering of information and
interviewing a seasoned patrol offer assisted in this examination. The city in which the patrol officer
works is also studied. Research of the city of Hueytown s population and history helped to understand
the demographics and crime within the city. While Hueytown s violent crimes are low, thefts and
burglaries rank the highest. Communities, including the city of Hueytown, place patrol officers on the
streets in order to protect and serve. Officer Louis Phillips, Jr. gave an interview that takes an in depth
look at his journey as a patrol officer. Interview of a Patrol Officer
Part One: Research
In 1825, Abner McGee entered into a tract of land, now known as Hueytown, Alabama. In 1833
Mortimor Jordan purchased thousands of acres of land from McGee and Octavus Spencer. Several
other people bought these tracts of land at an auction. Sam and Jesse Huey settled in the lower part of
the country and obtained land on Valley Creek near the Rock Creek Settlement (Smith, 1962, para. 1
3). Hueytown is located in western Jefferson County, Alabama. As of the 2010 Census the population
of Hueytown was 16,105 (censusviewer.com). The city has a history of farming, but also known for
the steel and coal mining industry. The city is proud to be the home of racecar driver,

Disruptive Behavior Classroom
Disruptive behavior in the classroom
Over the years at work I have noticed that disruptive behavior of students is a big challenge and a
frequent problem that teachers have to address in their classrooms. For those who are involved in
education know that teachers on a daily basis have a high amount of demands like improve test
results, successfully teach to students with diverse needs, and raise ability to serve all students, often
with minimum resources and support. Consequences of several national Gallup polls evidently
document that both the general public and teachers be in agreement that a major dilemma for public
schools is lack of students discipline in classrooms (Elam, Rose, Gallup, 1996; Rose Gallup, 2003,
2004). It is very ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If teachers do not stop immediately a disruptive behavior in the classroom, this may be a beginning of
a future problem for the learners. I have noticed in my school, that teachers who do not tolerated any
disruptive behavior in any place at school like in their classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, and cafeteria,
those classrooms run very efficiently. In the other hand, teachers that I have seen who tolerated
disruptive behavior at the same places the classroom is totally

Social Class in Jane Austen
Throughout this essay , I will be looking at the theme of social class in Jane Austen s work ; critically
analysed by Juliet McMaster, a chapter taken from The Cambridge Companion to Jane Austen , edited
by Edward Copeland and Juliet McMaster. Jane Austen s novels at first glance tell a story of romance,
set within the landowning society amidst country estates, and their cultivation of tea parties, social
outings, and extravagant balls; ladies frolicking in flowing gowns through decorated rooms, and men
deliberating over their game of whist. The storybook romance usually unfolds in these familiar
settings, and inevitably involves the conflict of two lovers separated by differences in social class, and
the resulting influence of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This system unfairly gives privilege to one family member by giving him /her everything, for the
preservation of the family name and the estate throughout the generations. Hence the five Longbourn
girls are to be turned out upon their father s death, since the estate is entailed to Mr. Collins. Charles
Bingley is the most we witness of social mobility. He is a gentleman who lives a lavish life, and whose
money was acquired by trade . He walks in his father s footsteps, and once married to Jane, he does
buy an estate. This means that the next generation will be a step upwards in their social ladder. His
sisters on the other hand are status and power hungry and are proud and conceited . Darcy, rebutes,
very realistically that the Bennet sisters connection with trade, will prove to be an obstacle to their
happiness and will lessen their chance of marrying men of prestige. The quality of humans is judged
by moral and humane standards. Charlotte Lucas chooses to marry the pompous Mr. Collins, not for
love but it is simply a marriage of convenience, in which she is the one finding it convenient. Through
this Jane Austen presents the bleak and futile existence of women, as well as the happier outcome, of
the heroine who finds fulfillment in marrying the man she loves. The servants in Jane Austen s novels
represent the poor working class. The poor are seldom mentioned, except through Lady Catherine s
scolding of degradation. Human worth should

The Weather Project Essay
The Weather Project by Olafur Eliasson By: Kayla Wilson Introduction: Olafur Eliasson, an
extraordinary artist of the 19th and 20th century, was born on February 5, 1967 in Copenhagen,
Denmark. All throughout Eliasson s childhood he was surrounded by beautiful, natural surroundings
that caused him to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for environment itself and natural
lights that create it. (1) From 1989 to 1995, Eliasson attended the Royal Academy of Arts in
Copenhagen. Eliasson began studying traditional art, but ultimately grew famous for his installations.
Around 1950, Eliasson began to participate in exhibitions world round: from museums such as the
Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, to the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Los
Angeles, to the London s Tate Modern. (**) Furthermore, Eliasson has several different solo
exhibitions; like his exhibition in ZKM in Karlsruhe, Germany. Another one of his very noteworthy
achievements was his participation in the 2003 Venice Biennale, representing Denmark. Eliasson is
currently residing in Germany and furthering his career in art. (1) Eliasson ultimately grew famous for
his lively installations, The Weather Project being one of his most famous installations. The Weather
Project was installed in 2013 in London s Tate Modern. The Weather Project was located in the ...

In order to develop the illusion of being surrounded by an authentic sun, Eliasson used humidifiers,
monochromatic lamps, and a giant aluminum frames lined with mirror foil covered the entire ceiling.
The humidifiers were used to develop a fine mist resembling the air on a foggy day, the
monochromatic lamps were used to radiate immense yellow tinted light, and the mirrors on the ceiling
were used to create shadows of the visitors making them out to be minuscule black dots facing a mass
of man made sunlight.

Napoleon Bonaparte, A Great Leader, The Politician,...
Napoleon Bonaparte, soldier, general, politician, tyrant, emperor. Napoleon Bonaparte was a great
many things. He ended the French revolution, bringing stability and order to a country stricken with
chaos. He accomplished civil reforms that other countries could only dream off in matter of a few
years, restoring financial stability, reformed the education system, instituted an extensive program of
public works, centralized the governmental systems which is still in effect today in France, and settled
disputes with the almighty Catholic Church, the list of his great accomplishments go on and on.
Napoleon was born to Carlo Buonaparte, a Corsican lawyer, and his wife Letizia Ramolino on August
15, 1769. The Buonapartes were descended from minor Italian nobility of Tuscan origin, who had
come to Corsica from Liguria in the 16th century. He had an elder brother named Joseph, and six
younger siblings, Lucien, Elisa, Louis, Pauline, Caroline and Jerome. During his infant years civil
strife surrounded him, the people of Corsica were rising up against the French occupiers, originally his
family had sided with the nationalists, but after their leader Pasquale was forced to flee, Carlo turned
his coat and sided with the French. After his betrayal he was appointed a plush job as the accessor of
the judicial district of Ajaccio. The job allowed him to enroll his two sons Joseph and Napoleon in
France s College d Autun and in May of 1779 he was admitted into the military academy at

how appreciation affects interest rates and exchange rates
1. Explain the how appreciation affects interest rates and exchange rates. How does this influence
commodity currency? Should we return to a gold standard? Why or why not?
Business dictionary defines an exchange rate as the rate at which one currency can be exchanged for
another. In other words, it is the value of another country s currency compared to that of your own. If
you are planning a trip to travel abroad this is something that needs to be calculated along the trip,
because in order to purchase goods or services while aboard one would need to purchase the local
currency. Just like the price of any asset, the exchange rate is the price at which you can buy that
currency. If you are traveling within Europe, for example, and ... Show more content on

For instance, if the dollar depreciates relative to the euro, the exchange rate rises. When the dollar
depreciates relative to the euro, the dollar becomes more competitive because the price of American
goods when exchanged to euro will be cheaper leading to a larger American export. On the other hand,
European countries that denominate its goods and services in Euros will have lost competitiveness to
the dollar. The price of European products will thus become more expensive in America. A currency
appreciates as a result of increased demand for that currency on world markets. Its value in the world
market increases. This increase in demand can occur for several reasons which include: When a
country s exports are high, the buyers of these exports need its currency to pay for those exports. Also
when the country s central bank increases interest rates, people will want that currency to deposit in
the banks to earn that higher interest rate. The higher the interest rate the stronger the currency.
Gold standard Between 1870 and 1914, there was a global fixed exchange rate. Currencies were
linked to gold, meaning that the value of a local currency was fixed at a set exchange rate to gold
ounces. This was known as the gold standard. This allowed for unrestricted capital mobility as well as
global stability in currencies and trade. However, with the start of World War I, the gold standard was
abandoned. To help combat the Great Depression, faced

mechanism and list of medical diseases. With diseases like swine flu and dengue fever, chicken pox,

Herculean task to differentiate between the above scribed diseases based on symptoms. Thus, it
becomes inevitable to design such a system that would closely monitor the symptoms and infer the

symptom of a disease and to predict and quantify the severity impact of the recognized disease. For
predicting, the cure time of a disease, based on the symptoms. Perdition of cure time is clinically

Gay Marriage
In the Boston Globe newspaper editorial For Gay Marriage the editors argue that gay marriage should
be legalized in America. Throughout the newspaper article the is topic of the expanding circle of rights
( Globe A18). Movements include the civil rights movement, gender equality, rights for the disabled,
18 year olds to vote, single mothers and adoptive parents have occurred it is apparent that the right for
gay marriage should occur ( Globe A18).These advances have occurred with the help of court cases.
The 1967 supreme court case Loving V. Virginia Court rulings ruled that marriage should not be
restricted because of ones race ( Globe A18). Others ruled that adoption could not be denied on the
basis of sexual orientation. The Globe states that under the Massachusetts constitution, Equality under
the law shall not be denied or abridged because of sex, race, color, creed or national origin to argue
their point gay marriage should be legalized(A18). Along with the presidents The Globe uses Hillary
Goodridge as an example of how her rights were abridged when she was unable to see her newborn
daughter in a neonatal intensive care unit because she was not married to her partner of 15 years.
(A18). The Editors discuss opposing reasons to why gay marriage should not be legalized by
Massachusetts Attorney General. One argument the attorney general makes is that marriage is, ...A

Joanne s Political Cartoon Analysis
I found Joanne s political cartoon extremely relevant to current events and policy debates. The cartoon
depicts a sheriff and a Texan standing in chest deep water. In the background are farm animals
huddled on the top of a roof in order to prevent drowning, and a large billboard allowing the audience
to know the setting is in TEXAS . However, the most vital part of the cartoon is the sheriff s line
above him, It s not global warming. This water s cold, which parallels the steady position of the
Republican party on climate change. Even when the water is about to flood both individuals, the Texas
sheriff is solid in his claim against global warming and will not budge.
This sentiment against climate protection has evolved over the years. Over

The Influence Of The March On Washington
William P. Jones s The March on Washington begins by highlighting A. Philip Randolph, a black labor
unionist and civil rights advocate, who attempted to organize a March on Washington in 1941.
Although Randolph s original march failed to come to fruition, the novel depicts the proceedings as a
prerequisite to the 1963 march. Depicting Randolph as a central figure to the March on Washington
Movement, the novel tells the story of the events leading up to and through the March on Washington
that took place on August 28, 1963. Although the majority of the focus of The March on Washington
revolves around the actions of A. Philip Randolph and his mostly male peripheral contacts before the
march, I argue that the capacity and framework of the foundations of the 1963 March on Washington
were substantially influenced by the actions of prominent black female leaders. The March on
Washington of 1941 s was a response to President Roosevelt s inability to address the problems
associated with discrimination and segregation in the labor sectors of federally funded defense
industries and in every sector of the military (26, 27, and 30). A. Philip Randolph originally predicted
that 10,00 people would attend the march, but as the march approached the numbers increased from
10,00 to 50,00 to 100,00 Negro laborers, domestics, mechanics, professionals would arrive at the
Capital for the march (Jones, 37). Why did Randolph expect such an increase in numbers, and where
did he think these people would come from? It is likely that Randolph s confidence stemmed from the
recognition that his movement was informally backed due to pressure from Jeanetta Welch on Mary
McLeod Bethune, the president of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) by the NCNW
(Jones, 34). As Randolph s most prominent backer, the NCNW consisted of a network of women s
clubs and sororities, like Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA), who sent an avalanche of more than 3000 letters,
telegrams and long distance telephone calls to white house officials, whose entire membership
exceeded 800,000 (Jones, 34). Without the support of NCNW Randolph wouldn t have had the
capacity needed to intimidate the nation s president with the possibility of 100,000 mass marchers.

How Does Catullus Poem 64
Poem 64 is one of Catullus most ambitious and complex works. The mini epic comprises of 408 lines,
making it the longest poem of all Catullus works. The poem is written in the dactylic hexameter, the
traditional meter of epic poetry. The poem is further told through ekphrasis an ancient doctrine
denoting any poetic or rhetorical description, including descriptions of landscape, buildings, battles,
and storms.
The focal point of this report will be on the content of poem 64 and how it, reflects Catullus himself
and his relationship with Lesbia. Further, I will examine the mirroring of characters and emotions and
ambiguity of the poem as it stands in relation to his other works.
The poem as already stated is a mini epic and is often described ... Show more content on

However, immediately after this joyful expression of love and marriage Catullus introduces Ariadne.
Namque fluentisono prospectans litore Diae
Thesea cedentem celeri cum classe tuetur
Indomitos in corde gerens Ariadna furores.
Our first introduction of Ariadne is of her abandonment by Theseus. Ariadne looks on as Theseus
abandons her on the island bearing wild furies in the heart.
Catullus uses the female narrative express his feelings of grief due to his abandonment by Lesbia.
Theseus careless forgetfulness, which in the legend causes his father s mistaken suicide, parallels the
fecklessness of Lesbia.
Surrounding this, there is the perfect wedding of Peleus and Thetis represents a kind of high point in
the age of heroes. Achilles, destined to be born of this match, will distinguish himself chiefly by his
bloodthirstiness (as we learn in the marriage hymn sung by the Fates, 323 81).
Therefore, In poem 64 Ariadne is Catullus, and Theseus stands in as lesbia. Ariadne curses him from
line 130 stating that he is Treacherous, forgetful of his promises, merciless and ruthless. voce mihi,

Karl Marx And The Proletariat
Marx and the Proletariat
Following the industrial revolution, the world saw the rise of a new social and economic class that
became known as the working class. The working class, made up of wage dependent laborers, began
growing very rapidly as industrialization spread throughout the globe. Karl Marx was one of the first
people to see the growing potential within this class which he referred to as the proletariat. Marx saw a
divide forming within society due to the bourgeoisie continuing to rise in power, while the proletariat
grew stagnate or declined in power To understand Karl Marx s and Frederick Engel s Communist
Manifesto, the proletariat must be defined, also the importance of the proletariat must be understood.

Risk In Projects The Total Tool Set
Eyes Wide Shut (without Nicole and Tom to help)
Many project mangers, when first introduced to risk management, feel that there is something macho
about undertaking high risk projects without a net and that formal risk management is a sign of
weakness. Secretly, I guess that we all identify somewhat with Indiana Jones as he plunges from
disaster to disaster just surviving by good luck and sheer guts. The good news is that if you ... Show

If you lived in an apartment next to the building in which you work, the risk involved in getting to
work on time is many times lower than that facing a person with a 20 mile commute involving driving
to the station, getting kids to school, taking a pre work study course and public transport. The second
process in risk management is the process of Risk Reduction, Minimization or Containment. This
process involves planning and action to reduce the risks and, if that is not possible, to introduce
strategies to minimize the impact of failure. To manage the risks in our commute, we could reduce risk
by moving closer to work, obtaining flexible working hours or undertaking community and political
action to improve public transport. Contingency planning such as having alternative routes or
transport would be part of this process. The third and fourth processes of Risk Management are the
Risk Monitoring and Risk Reporting of the status of risks [particularly High risk factors], the
identification of new risk factors that have emerged during the project and reports on the effectiveness
of containment strategies. In our commute example, risk monitoring would involve watching the clock
and for traffic snarls. Risk reporting could be calling work to say you ll be late and to inform your
work colleagues of potential delays for other colleagues. Risk management also involves the
evaluation and management of the impact of failure of the

The Aesop s Fable The Crow And The Pitcher
C2a1.
The Aesop s Fable The Crow and the Pitcher is a brief story of a Crow that is extremely thirsty and
finds a pitcher with little water in it. The Crow has an idea to place pebbles into the pitcher to raise the
water level, allowing the Crow to drink. The Fable creates an unconscious lesson through animals
engaging in human like situations, helping humans understand what to do or what not to do in
undesirable human behaviors (Hogan, 2014). The moral of the story is little by little does the trick (E.,
2017). The Aesop s Fable: The Tortoise and the Hare is a brief story about a road race between a rabbit
and a turtle. The rabbit ends up taking a nap during the contest since the rabbit was so far ahead of the
turtle. The turtle kept a steady pace without stopping and crossed the finish line first.

Oneway that the Fable The Crow and the Pitcher , along with, The Tortoise and the Hare show literary
quality, is in how the theme and topic are meaningful to children. The analyzing of the situation,
symbolism, and the reward of perseverance are some of the themes. On the other hand, students begin
with the reading of the fable, starting with a shared understanding of the tale, and then breaking these
complexities into a simple solution and valuable lesson about how to be a good and considerate
person. Fables entertain the young readers with interesting stories and illustrations that make

Trip To Ecuador Research Paper
The most impactful event in my life so far was the two week service trip I took to Ecuador with
Renbrook in june of 2015. It was a two week service trip in which we would be helping at medical
clinics and building wheelchair ramps for a school for disabled kids. I went into the trip having no
idea how much of an impact it would have on my life, and I definitely had no idea that I would create
strong bonds with people I had never even met. I came out of this trip a different person, a better
person.
The night before we left for ecuador we were invited to spend the night at Renbrook. That night was
the beginning to our bonding, we got pizza and watched a movie and everyone had a great time. Even
though we had an early morning flight the next day, we still stayed up until 12 because we were

The Revitalization Of The Sears Concourse Building
Is it possible for a community to entrust artists with the responsibility of redeveloping a
neighborhood? After all, doubts are understandable; artists are better at being artists and developers
are best at being developers. As a matter of fact, does an artist/real estate developer even exist? Just
the mere thought seems impractical. Although this may be true in most cities, Memphis, Tennessee is
currently in the middle of a Renaissance, and artists are leading the way. The anchor of this
Renaissance is the revitalization of The Sears Concourse building. The Art Deco 1.5 million square
foot structure built in 1927 was once a source of pride for the city, attracting 30,000 visitors at its
grand opening to marvel at its decadence and eventually serving as a distribution hub for 50 years.
Employing 1500 people and attracting thousands of visitors per day in the department store, it was an
economic pillar of the Crosstown neighborhood. However, in 2010, the building standing empty for
22 years, became an eyesore that Crosstown co founder Todd Richardson describes as a beacon of
hope that is now a disappointing reminder of unmet expectations for the city . The surrounding
neighborhood would keep hoping sooner or later, someone would eventually solve the dilemma of
what to do with so much space that had been empty for so long. Year after year, businesses boarded
up, houses deteriorated and neighbors lost hope. No one knew what to do; that is to say, until an artist,

Case Study of Does America really need manufacturing .
Sriharsha Vennelaganti Fs0792
1. Summary:
In the case study we can see that the authors talk about the importance of innovation when it comes to
the long term success of every product company. By reading the article one gets an understanding that
the authors are asking executives of any product company should not view manufacturing as a cost
center and by shifting their manufacturing units offshore they are hindering a company s capacity to
innovate. In the end the authors give us different methods that a company can use to better improve
their product line without shifting their manufacturing bases offshore and a way the government can

To be successful many large scale manufacturing operations must find a keen balance that addresses
the more task focused needs of the production process as well as the financial planning, oversight and
control requirements of any major modern business organization. As I have mentioned couple of
points in the above section, but here in this critique I will be talking about how sourcing can help a
company to make a decision regarding keeping its manufacturing unit in United states. Modularity
plays an important role in sourcing as we can see from the article, where modularity in product design
can be seen as a way to new product development. Modularity in process design may speed new
product manufacturing setup times, reduce costs, and enhance the profitability of the lower product
volumes. Modular products tend to have fewer components for assembly and are therefore cheaper to
assemble. Modules are created with some aspects of production in mind, however this modularization
is done without understanding the implications of design. Although often yielding highly functional
products, once the manufacturing process is over this unstructured modularization often leads to costly
redesigns or expensive products. Modularity requires maintaining independence between components
and processes in different modules, encouraging

The UIC Vocal Jazz Ensemble started the performance first. The ensemble consisted of thirteen
members, and they opened the performance with a Christmas carol. There were three males and four
female soloists who were scat singing. The ending of the song was very cool when the male soloist
said, Better watch out now . The song was very interesting and created a delightful atmosphere to start
the performance along with the Christmas spirit. The second song that the ensemble performed was
called In the Mellow Tone by Duke Ellington. They also took turn to sing solo and scat singing. The
male singers also sung a little part without instrumental towards the end of the song. The next

quite emotional about the grown up Christmas list that we wished for everyone in the world not just

Solving The Decision For Refinance Your Mortgage
It s often assumed that interest rate is what matters most when it comes to making a decision to
refinance your mortgage. To a large degree, that s true. But it s hardly the whole story. True, a lower
interest rate means that you ll pay less for your mortgage in the long run, but you also have to consider
non financial factors in the decision to refinance. In certain situations you may not save money by
refinancing. And in a few others, it may actually end up costing more than you save.
Consider the Bigger Picture
Though it s tempting to think that the refinance decision is fundamentally a math equation, there are
actually very important personal considerations to evaluate to determine if it s the right move for you.
Do you plan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Is your credit strong enough to get the best deal? No matter what rates you see advertised, the best
rates are reserved for people with the best credit profiles. If your credit has deteriorated since you first
purchased the home, the rate on the new loan may be adjusted higher. It s even possible that the rate
on the new loan will be higher than what you have right now, due to negative changes in your credit
profile.
What is your employment situation? Is there any possibility that you could be transferred on your job?
That s more common in some occupations than in others. If yours happens to be one of them, and you
find yourself getting transferred out of town a few months after doing a refinance, it s almost certain
that the refinance will cost you more money you will save.
Are you looking to get out of an unaffordable house payment? If the primary reason why you want to
refinance is because you re struggling to make your house payment, a refinance may not solve the
problem. Yes, it will lower your monthly payment, but it s unlikely to make it fundamentally more
affordable. If that s what you re looking to accomplish, the better course of action may be to sell your
home downside to a less expensive one.
Will a Refinance Actually Save You Money?

Reflection Of The Camino
The Camino Day 1: We left the College on Saturday, the 6th of May. The flight departed at 11:45 and
we didn t arrive at Biarritz until 2:50. Then we got a bus from the airport to St Jean Pied de Port, a
small village at the base of the Pyrenees Mountains. When we got to St Jean, I was taken aback by the
town. It was a mixture of old streets and building from centuries ago and modern roads and shops. We
had a mass in the local parish before we got to explore the town. It was late by then so most of the
shops were closed, but you still got a feel for the town as we strolled down the narrow streets. A
parade was commencing when we were wandering around that was celebrating the Basque Region s
heritage. They were dressed in their traditional clothes and were waving the Basque flag. I didn t
know about the Basque Region s fight for independence before then but Mr. Mccormack explained it
to me. To greatly simplify it, the citizens of the Basque Region believe they shouldn t be members of
France and Spain because they have their own traditions, customs and lifestyles that oppose those of
the French and Spanish. After exploring the town we returned to the hotel, reflected on the day, ate
dinner, and then went to bed. Day 2: The second day involved a lot more work than the first. It was

Important Parts Of A Cell
Introduction
The body is made up of billions and billions of cells that make up tissues that make up organs, which
make up organ systems. Within those cells are organelles including but not limited to a nucleus,
organelles, and cytosol. Cells are one of the most basic units of our bodies. With that being said, it is
safe to say that cells are extremely important. There are many parts of a cell and many ways that a cell
works. One of the most important parts of a cell is the plasma membrane. The plasma membrane is the
outer surface of a cell, which is made up of things called phospholipids, which form a phospholipid
bilayer. This bilayer is made up of phospholipids (75%), cholesterol (20%), and glycoproteins (5%).
This bilayer is only possible due to the phospholipids being amphipathic (polar and non polar parts).
Phospholipids are composed of a hydrophilic (water loving) head and 2 hydrophobic (water fearing)
tails. The Plasma membrane separates the cell s internal environment from its external environment. It
also plays a key role in communication among cells and between cells and their external environment,
(Tortora 60).
Many different proteins are located all throughout the plasma membrane. Some float around freely
and others are stationary in specific locations. For example, integral proteins extend all the way
through the lipid bilayer and go further into the interior of the cell. This makes them transmembrane
proteins due to the fact that they go all the way

Homer s Heroes
The epic poem called The Iliad written by Homer concerns the Trojan War. It shows Trojan and
Achaean warriors courage, bravery and their attempt to become the best fighter to get fame, glory, and

Achilles strength comes from their desire for fame, glory, honor and their acceptance of fate. These
qualities are considered to be characteristics of Homer s heroic code. However, the actions of Paris are
not heroic causing trouble and conflict for many people. In fact, Paris non heroic action started the

town, I lose all hope of home but gain unfading glory; on the other, if I sail back to my own land my
glory fails but a long life lies ahead of me. (K 47 54)
The proper burial which Achilles does for all his victims in the war is a heroic action. Since burial is a
very important thing for both Achaeans and Trojans, the families of the dead ones were able to
appreciate Achilles respect for the dead people. Andromache says of Achilles attack on her father:
He killed him, but, reverent at least in this, did not spoil him. Body, gear, and weapon forged so
handsomely, he burned, and heaped a barrow over the ashes. Elms were planted round by mountain
nymphs of him who bears the storm cloud. (J 127 33)
Achilles requests to his mother, Thetis, to ask Zeus and make the Trojans stronger until Agamemnon
and his army realize that they need Achilles back in order to win the war. So, Thetis asks Zeus, Lend
the Trojans power,/ until the Achaeans recompense my son/ and heap new honour upon him! (C 20 23)
The strategy that Achilles plans works out and eventually he is back in the army. However since he
chooses fame and glory over a long and relaxing life, the time for Achilles death comes. Being the
hero that he is, Achilles accepts his fate when Hector foreshadows it and mentions his death is close

efficiently to meet your clients needs. You can also output the sizes of videos and audios accordingly
using Adobe Edge Reflow.
4. Include the width and also the height attributes in your code
The attributes in your code should match with the size of your audios and videos. You should note
that, if the width and the height are not compatible with the size of the video, it will be scaled. The
video may appear ragged if the scaling is larger than its quality. On the other hand, if the height and
width are smaller, the quality of the video may not suffer, but you may encounter challenges when
uploading it online.
5. You should use the scripts and elements that are compatible with your site
Before launching video scripts or HTML audios on your site, you should validate your code.

The Canterbury Tales Corruption in the Church Chaucer lived in a time dictated by religion and
religious ideas in which he uses The Canterbury Tales to show some of his views. Religion played a
significant role in fourteenth century England and also in Chaucer s writing. His ideas of the Church
are first seen in The Prologue, and he uses seven religious persons to show the influence of the
religion in his writing. Although many of his characters appear to portray part of the corruption in the

an example of Chaucer s awareness of a defiled Church. Chaucer provides humor to his description of

Gerhardt saw that the Prince had an irregular projection of the left vocal cord and diagnosed him with

we are finding we are loosing who we really in the buzzing busyness of the Internet. Our identity is
who we our from our minor mannerisms to our personality, its what makes you, you, even with the

European Community Law Enacted Into Domestic Law
The European Communities Act 1972 was passed by parliament, this introduced the European
Community law enacted into domestic law. On the 1st January 1973, the United Kingdom joined the
European communities, along with other European nations, and this embarked on the nations
becoming the European Union. On the 23th June 2016, the European Union Referendum Act 2015
took place questioning as to whether the United Kingdom should leave the European Union, and thus,
the people voted in agreement to leave. This triggered Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union,
whereby Prime Minister Theresa May is to give liable notification to exit the European Union. This
allows a two year open window to discuss a withdrawal agreement. The R (Miller) v Secretary of
State for Exiting the European Union case discusses as to whether the Crown s notice is substantial to
give notice of this leave.
The legal issue presented before us asks if the Crown Court has the prerogative power to give
notification under Article 50 to exit the European Union without notifying parliament. This foreseeing
the risk of losing European Union statutory rights. The Crown agrees so, and this brings into question
parliaments sovereignty, Britain s constitutional statutes and what can be perceived as a diminishing
history of democracy.
The defendant Secretary of State pinpoints that in the ECA 1972, 2015 Referendum Act or any other
United Kingdom legislation passed by parliament states no terms which show that the

Cook County Criminal Court Case Essay
Ladies and gentleman of the jury at Cook County Criminal Court, I am the defense attorney. Today we
are regarding Case number 407 and my client is insane. This case is about the murderer, Sam Parris,
who murdered Billy Porter. We know that Sam is clearly guilty because he confessed to us. Sam Parris
is insane because he hears voices inside his head, he says he has a disease, and he is imagining things
that are not really there.
The first piece of evidence I have is when Sam says, Almighty God! no, no! They heard! they
suspected! they knew! they were making a mockery of my horror! this I thought, and this I think!
(page four). He was hearing voices inside his head. Throughout the story, Sam has voices inside his
head. The voices ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I gasped for breath and yet the officers heard it not. I talked more quickly more vehemently; but the
noise steadily increased. (page four). Sam is hearing noises. He is either hearing voices inside his head
or hearing sounds inside his head. If the officers didn t hear him talking or gasping, he was hearing it
inside his head. When you are insane, you believe things that aren t true. He hears, sees, and thinks
things are not really there. On the other hand, I could see why some say he is sane. In some parts of
the story he is in his right mind. Like when he said, But, ere long, I felt myself getting pale and
wishing them gone. (page four). I feel as if he had come to his senses and figured out what he did. So,
while he was doing the murder, he didn t know what he was doing. But, afterwards it hit him. He
learned what he did. In conclusion, I find Sam Parris to be completely guilty of murder. But, I believe
that he should be admitted to a mental hospital and not be charged for murder. He needs treatment for
his disease. The disease makes him not think right. It makes him believe stuff that isn t true. Thank
you everyone for coming today. Have a good

  • 2. A Comparison Of Haitian Rap And Rap Haitian descent rappers in Montreal and rap Kreyol artists from Haiti were both introduced to rap music the same way listening to imported, bootleg tapes made in America. Although, both groups located at different areas around the globe, they produce their music using American hip hop beats. The Haitian people blend it with customary Kreyol language while the artist in Montreal rap in French and mix in their own language codes (Vertus 2016). Both groups rapping about the socioeconomic challenges faced every day like poverty, ghetto life, and the drug culture. • 3. Alla Ajuera Summary Allá Ajuera is a dramatic poem that shows the exchange between a mother and a son. The son wants to play outside, but his mom is afraid for him. He does not understand why his mother is so against him going outside. He says to his mother quiero vivir allá ajuera showing that the child feels like he is not allowed to live freely if he is inside all of the time. His mother responds and tells him no mijo, allá ajüera no no con los niños no con los del patrón. It is safe to make the assumption that the boss is a white man and does not want her son to go outside and play where the boss s children are playing in fear of the children causing problems and her son being blamed and her having to face any consequences. To avoid this, she does not want her son to play outside. The son wants to be a child and be happy, but his mother wants to shield him from the harsh reality that the world that he lived in did not want him to be happy. The son questions his mother and asks her Father Josue says God loves us And he says we gonna be happy/When we die...tell me why we gotta wait Why we gotta die/To be happy. His mother responds así lo quiso diocito, mijo. The son is innocent and naive and does not know why he cannot be like the other children and have fun playing outside. The only explanation the mother is able to offer to him is that this is the way God intended it to be and there is nothing that can be done to change the circumstances. Lastly, after the mother has made her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Interview Of A Patrol Officer Interview of a Patrol Officer Jeanie C. Johnson Faulkner University MJA 5340 Policing in America May 6, 2016 Abstract An examination of the patrol officer s jobs and duties took place. The gathering of information and interviewing a seasoned patrol offer assisted in this examination. The city in which the patrol officer works is also studied. Research of the city of Hueytown s population and history helped to understand the demographics and crime within the city. While Hueytown s violent crimes are low, thefts and burglaries rank the highest. Communities, including the city of Hueytown, place patrol officers on the streets in order to protect and serve. Officer Louis Phillips, Jr. gave an interview that takes an in depth look at his journey as a patrol officer. • 6. Social Class in Jane Austen Throughout this essay , I will be looking at the theme of social class in Jane Austen s work ; critically analysed by Juliet McMaster, a chapter taken from The Cambridge Companion to Jane Austen , edited by Edward Copeland and Juliet McMaster. Jane Austen s novels at first glance tell a story of romance, set within the landowning society amidst country estates, and their cultivation of tea parties, social outings, and extravagant balls; ladies frolicking in flowing gowns through decorated rooms, and men deliberating over their game of whist. The storybook romance usually unfolds in these familiar settings, and inevitably involves the conflict of two lovers separated by differences in social class, and the resulting influence of the ... This system unfairly gives privilege to one family member by giving him /her everything, for the preservation of the family name and the estate throughout the generations. Hence the five Longbourn girls are to be turned out upon their father s death, since the estate is entailed to Mr. Collins. Charles Bingley is the most we witness of social mobility. He is a gentleman who lives a lavish life, and whose money was acquired by trade . He walks in his father s footsteps, and once married to Jane, he does buy an estate. This means that the next generation will be a step upwards in their social ladder. His sisters on the other hand are status and power hungry and are proud and conceited . The quality of humans is judged by moral and humane standards. Charlotte Lucas chooses to marry the pompous Mr. Collins, not for love but it is simply a marriage of convenience, in which she is the one finding it convenient. Through this Jane Austen presents the bleak and futile existence of women, as well as the happier outcome, of the heroine who finds fulfillment in marrying the man she loves. • 9. how appreciation affects interest rates and exchange rates 1. Explain the how appreciation affects interest rates and exchange rates. How does this influence commodity currency? Should we return to a gold standard? Why or why not? Business dictionary defines an exchange rate as the rate at which one currency can be exchanged for another. In other words, it is the value of another country s currency compared to that of your own. If you are planning a trip to travel abroad this is something that needs to be calculated along the trip, because in order to purchase goods or services while aboard one would need to purchase the local currency. Just like the price of any asset, the exchange rate is the price at which you can buy that currency. If you are traveling within Europe, for example, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For instance, if the dollar depreciates relative to the euro, the exchange rate rises. When the dollar depreciates relative to the euro, the dollar becomes more competitive because the price of American goods when exchanged to euro will be cheaper leading to a larger American export. On the other hand, European countries that denominate its goods and services in Euros will have lost competitiveness to the dollar. The price of European products will thus become more expensive in America. A currency appreciates as a result of increased demand for that currency on world markets. Its value in the world market increases. This increase in demand can occur for several reasons which include: When a country s exports are high, the buyers of these exports need its currency to pay for those exports. Also when the country s central bank increases interest rates, people will want that currency to deposit in the banks to earn that higher interest rate. The higher the interest rate the stronger the currency. Gold standard Between 1870 and 1914, there was a global fixed exchange rate. Currencies were linked to gold, meaning that the value of a local currency was fixed at a set exchange rate to gold ounces. This was known as the gold standard. This allowed for unrestricted capital mobility as well as global stability in currencies and trade. However, with the start of World War I, the gold standard was abandoned. • 15. The Influence Of The March On Washington William P. Jones s The March on Washington begins by highlighting A. Philip Randolph, a black labor unionist and civil rights advocate, who attempted to organize a March on Washington in 1941. Although Randolph s original march failed to come to fruition, the novel depicts the proceedings as a prerequisite to the 1963 march. Depicting Randolph as a central figure to the March on Washington Movement, the novel tells the story of the events leading up to and through the March on Washington that took place on August 28, 1963. Although the majority of the focus of The March on Washington revolves around the actions of A. Philip Randolph and his mostly male peripheral contacts before the march, I argue that the capacity and framework of the foundations of the 1963 March on Washington were substantially influenced by the actions of prominent black female leaders. The March on Washington of 1941 s was a response to President Roosevelt s inability to address the problems associated with discrimination and segregation in the labor sectors of federally funded defense industries and in every sector of the military (26, 27, and 30). A. Philip Randolph originally predicted that 10,00 people would attend the march, but as the march approached the numbers increased from 10,00 to 50,00 to 100,00 Negro laborers, domestics, mechanics, professionals would arrive at the Capital for the march (Jones, 37). Why did Randolph expect such an increase in numbers, and where did he think these people would come from? It is likely that Randolph s confidence stemmed from the recognition that his movement was informally backed due to pressure from Jeanetta Welch on Mary McLeod Bethune, the president of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) by the NCNW (Jones, 34). As Randolph s most prominent backer, the NCNW consisted of a network of women s clubs and sororities, like Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA), who sent an avalanche of more than 3000 letters, telegrams and long distance telephone calls to white house officials, whose entire membership exceeded 800,000 (Jones, 34). Without the support of NCNW Randolph wouldn t have had the capacity needed to intimidate the nation s president with the possibility of 100,000 mass marchers. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ariadne looks on as Theseus abandons her on the island bearing wild furies in the heart. Catullus uses the female narrative express his feelings of grief due to his abandonment by Lesbia. After all, doubts are understandable; artists are better at being artists and developers are best at being developers. As a matter of fact, does an artist/real estate developer even exist? Just the mere thought seems impractical. Although this may be true in most cities, Memphis, Tennessee is currently in the middle of a Renaissance, and artists are leading the way. The anchor of this Renaissance is the revitalization of The Sears Concourse building. The Art Deco 1.5 million square foot structure built in 1927 was once a source of pride for the city, attracting 30,000 visitors at its grand opening to marvel at its decadence and eventually serving as a distribution hub for 50 years. Employing 1500 people and attracting thousands of visitors per day in the department store, it was an economic pillar of the Crosstown neighborhood. However, in 2010, the building standing empty for 22 years, became an eyesore that Crosstown co founder Todd Richardson describes as a beacon of hope that is now a disappointing reminder of unmet expectations for the city . The surrounding neighborhood would keep hoping sooner or later, someone would eventually solve the dilemma of what to do with so much space that had been empty for so long. Modularity plays an important role in sourcing as we can see from the article, where modularity in product design can be seen as a way to new product development. Modularity in process design may speed new product manufacturing setup times, reduce costs, and enhance the profitability of the lower product volumes. Modular products tend to have fewer components for assembly and are therefore cheaper to assemble. Modules are created with some aspects of production in mind, however this modularization is done without understanding the implications of design. Although often yielding highly functional products, once the manufacturing process is over this unstructured modularization often leads to costly redesigns or expensive products. • 26. Solving The Decision For Refinance Your Mortgage It s often assumed that interest rate is what matters most when it comes to making a decision to refinance your mortgage. To a large degree, that s true. But it s hardly the whole story. True, a lower interest rate means that you ll pay less for your mortgage in the long run, but you also have to consider non financial factors in the decision to refinance. In certain situations you may not save money by refinancing. And in a few others, it may actually end up costing more than you save. Consider the Bigger Picture Though it s tempting to think that the refinance decision is fundamentally a math equation, there are actually very important personal considerations to evaluate to determine if it s the right move for you. It s even possible that the rate on the new loan will be higher than what you have right now, due to negative changes in your credit profile. What is your employment situation? Is there any possibility that you could be transferred on your job? That s more common in some occupations than in others. If yours happens to be one of them, and you find yourself getting transferred out of town a few months after doing a refinance, it s almost certain that the refinance will cost you more money you will save. Then we got a bus from the airport to St Jean Pied de Port, a small village at the base of the Pyrenees Mountains. When we got to St Jean, I was taken aback by the town. It was a mixture of old streets and building from centuries ago and modern roads and shops. We had a mass in the local parish before we got to explore the town. It was late by then so most of the shops were closed, but you still got a feel for the town as we strolled down the narrow streets. • 29. Important Parts Of A Cell Introduction The body is made up of billions and billions of cells that make up tissues that make up organs, which make up organ systems. Within those cells are organelles including but not limited to a nucleus, organelles, and cytosol. Cells are one of the most basic units of our bodies. With that being said, it is safe to say that cells are extremely important. There are many parts of a cell and many ways that a cell works. One of the most important parts of a cell is the plasma membrane. The plasma membrane is the outer surface of a cell, which is made up of things called phospholipids, which form a phospholipid bilayer. This bilayer is made up of phospholipids (75%), cholesterol (20%), and glycoproteins (5%). This bilayer is only possible due to the phospholipids being amphipathic (polar and non polar parts). Phospholipids are composed of a hydrophilic (water loving) head and 2 hydrophobic (water fearing) tails. The Plasma membrane separates the cell s internal environment from its external environment. It also plays a key role in communication among cells and between cells and their external environment, (Tortora 60). Many different proteins are located all throughout the plasma membrane. Some float around freely and others are stationary in specific locations. For example, integral proteins extend all the way through the lipid bilayer and go further into the interior of the cell. This makes them transmembrane proteins due to the fact that they go all the way ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
