The Aftermath of Socialism in Eastern Europe
Introduction
The aftermath of the fall of state socialism in Eastern Europe came with hope and high expectations
from the world at large. Many people awaited the justification of the liberal democratic model in the
emerging social and political environments. The concept of civil society that had been idealized by
many western European and American nations was central to the discourse of transformation. It
represented the voice of the hitherto marginalized and repressed people who were expected to emerge
from the ruined regime of state organized collectivity. There was great anticipation in the affairs of
women concerning their mobilization. This is because they were the most affected groups socially and
economically during the transition.
The transformation from state socialism to liberal democracy since 1989 was accompanied by
fundamental shifts in the material conditions of society and daily life. Many Eastern European
countries have been transformed into market economies and liberal democracies. They have been
assimilated into NATO and the European Union. However, both the economy and the political
transformations have been radical. This is because the changeover from socialism to capitalism in
most Eastern European countries was without precedent (Swain, 2011).
The reworking the discourses and concepts used to make sense of the social and political landscape
led political and economic changes in Eastern Europe. However, not all groups have fared well in the

Climate Change Is Real And Denial Is No More A Policy !
Climate change is real and denial is no more a policy!
Abstract: For last 37 years as a world we have spent lot of time in studying climate change and fixing
a blame. First World Climate Conference was held on 12 23 February 1979 in Geneva. (wikipedia) It
was one of the first major international meetings on climate change. We are studying climate change,
it s impact, causes and how to fix mess created by us. But now it s high time for us to move forward
and act on controlling Human contribution to Greenhouse Gases(GHG) which is major contributing
factor to climate change. This way we are giving back to society and future generations.

So we need to look for Electrical Vehicle (EV) and renewable energy.
With current level of awareness for climate change people are changing their attitude toward mother
earth and nature. They are increasingly looking toward less polluting vehicles and renewable energy
(like solar / wind energy) for their day to day energy needs. Also different government across worlds
are promoting development and use of EV automobiles and renewable energy. Government are giving
incentives like congestion pricing, highway tolls, carpooling lanes, tax rebates on green vehicle
(environmentally preferable vehicles).
This change is society is forcing different organisation to develop green technology. Better Place and
few other companies like Tesla, Renault Nissan, Indian REVA, Fortwo is working toward this goal of
new world where we human will be using green technology and not harming climate. This is change is
leading toward all major automobiles working on electrical or alternative fuel cars like Hydrogen fuel
cell vehicles (HFCV).
Recommendation:
Along with current incentives government should promote infrastructure development for mass rapid
transportation system. This will reduce per capita energy use.
Different organisation is coming with their own innovation and lot of those innovation is happening in
developed countries. These countries should promote transfer of technology to developing countries.
This way majority of world population

Workplace Diversity Of The Workplace
Job s face many struggles and challenges each and every day. Workplace diversity is something which
is being talked about the most here lately. Out breaks of minimum wage, sexualities, gender, and even
your skin color affects what diversity a business would want. Within the business, the professional
level is set pretty high due to the superior designers making us able to dress well fashioned. When
people step into a business they do not want someone that is going to walk in with a t shirt and gym
shorts, they would rather them be in dress pants and a nice dress shirt with fashionable shoe wear. It
does not have to be the top notch designer clothing, just something which doesn t scream I just woke
up from bed. The thing which is being most talked about these days is diversity. People who are
African American, white, Hispanic, gay, lesbian, bisexual, male, or even female could feel unwanted
at a higher end business. The more people are expanding their personalities and how much they want
to be shown that anyone could do anything just as much as the next man is outrageous. Workplace
diversity is becoming more intense as the years continue on and it is important to employers and
employees for a number of reasons, a few of them being that it would gain mutual respect with
everyone, conflict resolution would not be as much of an issue, and lastly the increased exposure due
to all of the workplace diversity. Kitts 2

Cane Toads In Australia
Have you ever heard the old wives tale about getting warts if you touch a toad? How about the
Chinese Folklore that says the toad is a sign of prosperity and financial blessings? I m not sure if the
people of Australia would see these creatures as a blessing. According to Claire Moodie with ABC
News, cane toads are spreading quickly through northern Australia and are leaving paths of
destruction behind. The Australian government even has a policy in place for dealing with these
harmful creatures. I chose to learn more about this topic because it seemed interesting, and I didn t
think it would have to do with politics. The other topics I researched during this class made me sad or
angry at times. I chose this topic because I thought it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The cane toads in Australia has become a national difficulty. The Australian government has been
providing funds to help with catching and destroying these pests. Scientists have not been able to find
any kind of way to biologically control these toads. According to the Australian Government, Cane
toads have an impact on Australian Government controlled lands, including Kakadu National Park,
several World Heritage Areas and Indigenous Protected Areas . The Australian government has written
a policy on cane toads, has started a cane toad advisory group, funded research on controlling and
collecting the toads, funded research on the impact of the toads on the Australian habitats and
economy, and has educated the public about the toads and how to deal with them. In the future, the
government plans to continue to do these same things as eradicating the toads does not seem feasible.
All of these efforts are being made to at least reduce the threats to humans and native species in

Models of Corrections Essay
The history of correctional thought and practice has been marked by enthusiasm for new approaches,
disillusionment with these approaches, and then substitution of yet other tactics (Clear 59). During the
mid 1900s, many changes came about for the system of corrections in America. Once a new idea goes
sour, a new one replaces it. Prisons shifted their focus from the punishment of offenders to the
rehabilitation of offenders, then to the reentry into society, and back to incarceration. As times and the
needs of the criminal justice system changed, new prison models were organized in hopes of lowering
the crime rates in America. The three major models of prisons that were developed were the medical,
model, the community model, and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many criminals re offend after they are released because they were put back into society with no
money and no job and no place to live. Gradually allowing criminals to reenter society and helping
them to find jobs will put many on the right track. This program allows people a second chance and
the possibility to change their lives around. This program seems to be a necessity yet it will not work
for everyone. Not all criminals should be let out on the street again. Just because you give a murderer
a job and some money and secure them a place to stay, you have no idea whether they have the desire
to kill again . This program would work for those that were ready to reenter society and would be
extremely beneficial to those who have nothing on the outside to help them. The third aim at bettering
the system of corrections in America was the idea of the crime control model. The crime control
model was based on the assumption that criminal behavior can be controlled by more use of
incarceration and other forms of strict supervision (Clear 57). This new model was designed with the
intent to incarcerate prisoners for longer periods of time. Under this program the death penalty was
reinstated in thirty seven states. This model was thought to have worked best for violent offenders
such as drug dealers and murderers. It seems as though this program was created to scare people from
committing a crime because of the strict punishment that would occur.

Presentation Of The Statement Of Cash Flows
Presentation of the Statement of Cash Flows The statement of cash flows is a relatively new statement.
Focused on cash basis accounting rather than accrual basis, the purpose of this statement is to describe
the effects of a company s cash inflows and outflows. This paper will discuss the current standards for
the statement of cash flows, the history of the statement, and if the direct method or indirect method is
more advantageous for the users. Current Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) states,
[i]n reporting cash flows from operating activities, entities are encouraged to report major classes of
gross cash receipts and gross cash payments and their arithmetic sum the net cash flow from operating
activities (the direct method) (ASC 230 10 45 25). In addition, per ASC 230 10 45 30, if a company
chooses to report the change in cash flow from operating activities using the direct method, it must
also include a separate schedule containing the indirect method, which is a reconciliation of net
income to cash flows from operating activities. In choosing to write the standards this way, the
Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) considered both methods and recognized the
advantages of each. However, the board noted that neither method provided enough benefit on its own
to justify the required use of one or the other. The board believes that the more comprehensive
approach would be to use the direct method in the operating section of the statement of

Children Are An Important Part Of The Continuation Of...
Children are an important part of the continuation of humanity, both as a species and culturally.
However, there are few references, outside of the instances where laws in relation to orphans or
widows or introduced, that discuss children in the Old Testament. There are times where the birth of a
child is mentioned, as is the case when Eve bore Cain in Genesis 4.1. However, there is no mention of
his childhood. Rather, the story continues when he is an adult farmer. The New Testament includes
references to children other than as a reference to genealogy or to celebrate a birth. These are very
important to understanding the shift in tone from the previous books of the Bible. In Matthew 18, the
disciples ask Jesus who the greatest in the kingdom of heaven will be (18.1). He calls a child from
among them before answering in the following verse. Before examining the answer, it is work noting
that children are present. It is easy to forget when reading through the previous books that there are
children, whether they are the patriarch s, a villager s, or a servant s, that could be present in many of
the scenes depicted. They are not mentioned because their presence is unimportant to that particular
tale. However, here they are important. So important, that Jesus feels the need to bring one to him. It is
also important to note that the text only says that [h]e called a child (4.2). This child is not identified
as male or female, the fact is irrelevant to this particular story.

The Pros And Cons Of The Workplace Relations Act
The former procedures for seeking redress in workplace conflicts were long, expensive and rather
frustrating. One had to seek redress with multiple Courts arising from the same set of facts and the
appeal system was equally as frustrating. Therefore, the Workplace Relations Act 2015 has been a
welcome development albeit with its advantages and disadvantages and the process has been
shortened and simplified to make it less expensive for both sides to pursue. Multiple claims no longer
have to go to different Courts for redress as all employment rights disputes will go straight to the
Workplace Relations Commission based on the same set of facts and in the event that mediation fails,
the matter is dealt with by an Adjudication Officer. Sending ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Feminization Of Poverty Trend And Black And White...
To address and answer the question being asked in this paper, I could use the same methodology Low
talks about in his paper. To be able to answer how much the feminization of poverty trend and black
and white inequality trend can explain the U.S wealth distribution, I would use the same regression
model lows uses. Instead of just looking at blacks versus whites, I will look at female headed
households versus male headed household too. Similar to Low s paper, I will use the Binder Oaxaca
decomposition to document the difference in wealth earnings if male headed households receives the
female variables and vice versa. I hope to find that some of the wealth distribution can be explained by
the variable differences between the male and female headed household. I expect the difference will
only be noticeable towards the bottom of the distribution, probably below top 50%. The difference in
median household incomes between whites and blacks has grown from about $19,000 in 1967 to
roughly $27,000 in 2011. Median black household income was 59% of median white household
income in 2011, up modestly from 55% in 1967; as recently as 2007, black income was 63% of white
income. As of 2015, relative to the average hourly wages of white men with the same education,
experience, metro status, and region of residence, black men make 22.0 percent less, and black women
make 34.2 percent less. Black women earn 11.7 percent less than their white female counterparts. The
widening gap has not

The Wife Of His Youth Summary
During a time of racial reconstruction in the United States, Charles W. Chesnutt composed the short
story, The Wife of His Youth , about the struggles of a mixed race man. This man, Mr. Ryder, believes
his fate lies between absorption by the white race and extinction in the black (Chesnutt 383). He
believes that skin color determines if someone belongs to the superiority of white culture or the
incapacity of black culture. In himself, he sees the progressiveness of white culture and in a former
African American friend, Liza Jane, he sees the extinction of blacks. The author uses vivid
descriptions of the characters appearance and mannerisms to show the traits that specifically belong to
white culture or black culture that mirror their fate. This creation of two cultures that hold specific and
separate qualities add emphasis to the resolution of the story where we find there is a place to meet in
the middle of the two.
The characters skin color sets up a basis for traits that define success or extinction. For example, Mr.
Ryder uses himself as someone whose lighter skin has predetermined his fate of superiority. The
protagonist is in a society of fellow mixed race individuals called the Blue Vein Society whose focus
is to establish social standards among a group of people whose social condition presented [has] almost
unlimited room for improvement (Chesnutt 381). This social condition needed is being white white
enough to show blue veins (Chesnutt 381). By using

considered a brick that weighed 28 oz and 13 x 1.75 x 3.5 in. In the early 80s, many cell phones were
not made to be hand held. Back then, phones were installed in the car. This created a high demand for
car phones. Early edition of car phones like the earlier version of the cell phones were big, shaped like
tote bags. They needed the battery of the car, through the lighter outlet for power. Other models came
in the briefcase forms. The briefcase held batteries so the user could make calls

the introduction of smaller mobile phones. Technological improvements such as energy efficient

Invisible Man By Ralph Ellison
The Invisible Man spends the whole book, Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison, trying to come to terms
with his identity, throughout the book he continues to learn and discover who he is. Ellison uses
Invisible Man s (IM s) briefcase as a symbol of oppression throughout the novel, while he uses the
briefcase to contrast IM s sense of self empowerment and his actuality of being used and controlled.
Right after the invisible man s story starts, he receives a briefcase after he is forced to participate in a
fight. When he receives the briefcase he is in an uncomfortable situation and desperately wants to
leave the area and forget that he had to fight and following that by giving a speech to privileged white
people. He made a speech as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This gives the briefcase meaning, although superficial, but because he got it out of a troublesome
situation for himself and kept it to define himself and how he will act starts off his self discovery in a
negative light. The briefcase started a pattern of the Invisible man having supposed important roles in
what he becomes a part of. When he goes to the college, he leads a white trustee around, which seems
like a big honor and he is the one that receives this. Which leads to him realizing that it was not about
him, it was about making a good impression for the college. When he enters the brotherhood it s not
about him, the brotherhood uses him to wreck havoc. This is what his identity becomes based on
starting with the briefcase and setting up how other people in the book use him throughout. The
briefcase sets up his future throughout the book.
Similarly, later on in the book when he acquires the doll that Clifton was doing a puppet show with he
keeps it, resulting in a further attachment to pieces that seem to give him significance or identity. This
doll connects the invisible man to Clifton, one of his best friends from the brotherhood. When the IM
gets the doll he sees Clifton is performing with them after he left the brotherhood he goes to crush the
doll because he is upset with what he has done but an old lady stops him and he takes the doll. I

I am not only trying to change myself on the inside but I also have to change myself on the outside.
Covey (2004) discusses about the four dimensions of renewal that include: the physical, mental,
spiritual, and social/emotional dimensions (p. 300). It is cleansing my spiritual dimension by
meditating with peace or with God, or just rethinking about what my values and goals are in life. It is
renewing my physical dimension by eating the right foods, working out, and taking care of my body.
It is continuing to learn new things and being open to new ideas to renew my mental dimension.
Lastly, it is communicating effectively, synergizing, and creating relationships with people to enhance
my social/emotional dimension. Renewing myself can change my perspective on life, how I perform
at work and at school. It can change my attitude and my confidence in myself. However, I need to
work on the four dimensions in a balanced way. I must retain balance and make sure that I am

Writing Poetry Is An Unnatural Act, By Elizabeth Bishop
Writing poetry is an unnatural act, said Elizabeth Bishop. It takes great skill to make it seem natural.
Part of developing that skill is about paying attention and I think we d all agree, paying attention in the
age of distraction is hard.
There is a myriad of distractions every minute: the latest bombastic tweet by our deranged president;
someone posting a beautiful plate of food on Instagram; or the onslaught of Facebook posts showing
all your poet friends and acquaintances meeting up at AWP.
The life of a writer was easier, in some ways, in the age of the typewriter: you sat, nothing but a blank
page staring back at you, waiting for your fingers to move. No smartphone at the ready to buzz with
the latest text from your wife, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And for poets, this means approaching life with eyes wide open, paying attention, and taking notes.
I have no clear goal in mind for the notes I take, poet and essayist Alison Hawthorne Deming writes in
Writing the Sacred Into the Real. Other than to help myself remember the intensities of the day, the
mix of sensation and thought as it rises and falls with the swells.
For me, note taking happens sporadically. Throughout much of my writing life, I ve worked on poems
in my head for a long time before I put anything on paper. As I get older, however, I find taking notes
helps especially if I m busy with daily life work, family, getting the dry cleaning. The Notes app on
my iPhone is one repository, notebooks and the occasional scrap of paper are another.
As with Deming s, my note taking may or may not lead to a poem or an essay or much of anything.
Yet, as she imparts, taking them forces a kind of attention that makes the experience richer, and
attention is central to both artistic and spiritual practice.
Practice. That word speaks to me. Poetry as practice seems right. We are amateurs of a sort at
translating the unsayable. To do so requires attention and practice. While we must pay attention to
those moments of inspiration, often we re slogging away at draft upon draft of a poem, trying to find
where the poem really wants to go.

Racial Bias from the Console
Kathy Vo
A10694259 Introduction
Researchers regularly research the media s influence on race perception, but rarely examine one
specific form: video games. Unlike formats such as television and newspapers, video games provide
an interactive platform for users to live in an alternative world and perform acts considered socially
wrong in real societies (Burgess et al). This form of virtual simulation can reinforce how one
perceives stereotypes at higher rates. Not only do the majority of these games feature white
protagonists, but also task them to defeat ethnically ambiguous enemies. Currently, the most popular
genre is shooter games set in the Middle East, where the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Racial bias may also influence who we choose to bond with. Another study suggest we show empathy
bias to in group members when viewing clips of people being poked with a big needle, indicated
through activation of the anterior cingulate cortex (Xu et al).
Previous studies examining the relationship between video games and race perception mainly
measured racial bias through Implicit Association Tests (Bosman). Not only can these tests be
subjective, but participants may fix their answers in attempts to deny their identity as racist. For my
research, I aim to link neuronal activity of implicit racism into manifested behavior. I hypothesize that
playing video games with negative racial stereotypes will produce stronger implicit thoughts and
explicit behavior of racism than other media formats.
Method
Participants for this study will be recruited from college students looking for extra credit. We will
specifically request for participants with minimal to no video game experience for a more accurate
reading on the effects of video games on race perception. The subjects will be informed that the
experiment will research attention and memory. For this study, we will focus on racial bias against
Middle Easterns, a group often linked to terrorism due to recent military activities. Using fMRI, the
first task will measure initial activation of the amygdala (fear) and anterior cingulate cortex (empathy).

The Chile Of Peru And Chile
For the fault zone that I chose to research for this project, I chose the Peru Chile Trench, also known
as the Chile Subduction Megathrust and as the Atacama Trench. It is called that because the area
between Peru and Chile is called The Atacama , and such was the plate named. The Peru Chile trench
is located along the western coast of Peru and Chile. It marks the zone where the Nazca plate is being
subducted beneath the South American plate and is approximately 3,666 miles long. (Britannica, p.1)

Therefore, there are many seismic events that have taken place on our geologic timeline and at the
same time shaped our historic timeline.
The most recent large scale earthquake along the Peru Chile Plate was the 16 September earthquake,
which happened in 2015. It measured an M 8.3, one of the largest on record. 5 were killed, and over 1
million were evacuated from greatly affected areas. However, compared to other earthquakes that have
taken place in Chile, this one was moderate.
In 2010, an 8.8 Mw earthquake shook Chile. It was approximately 200 miles southwest of Chile and
was approximately 375 miles long. A 2014 study attributed the quake to immense water pressure
located between the two plates. The region was stricken by strong aftershocks for months after the
quake, many of a magnitude of 5.0 Mw or greater.
The Tsunami that took place after the initial quake was caused by a portion of seabed rupturing
upwards, and displacing a large portion of the water being displaced. This water traveled at 450 miles,
at 8 feet tall, to the Chilean and Peruvian coast. Early viewers of the tsunami later reported waves
being up to 10 feet tall. This rupture was believed to be caused by 2 unusually dense pieces of seabed
that had been previously undetected by scientists, and consequently caused a large displacement of
water. There were also small ruptures of seismic

tried to make peace with the white men. Soon many of the Natives grew weary and finally decided to
cede their land and move to Indian Territory. Still many Natives had to be forced to make the journey.
Many of the natives didn t survive the journey. The Five Tribes that were removed were the
Choctaw,Creek,Chickasaw,Cherokee, and the Seminole.
The Choctaw were the first tribe to be encouraged to located to Indian Territory after the 1820 Treaty

Discretion In Policing
State and territory police play a pivotal role in protecting community safety and protection. Policing
was a combination of national economic interests, domestic and international security, and represented
in time by distinctive organizations (Chapman, 1970; Emsley, 1994). They have responsibility for
peace preservation, and crime prevention as well as upholding the laws, providing assistance in
personal emergencies, and coordinating and managing emergency incidents. Since the police can
employ the discretionary powers, which is a flexible way to dispose of social problems, in a manner
that either directs offenders to or diverts them away from, further penetration into the justice system,
they are seen as the gatekeepers of the criminal justice system, model authority, and law abiding
enforcement (Rob and Santina, 2015, p.348; Wortley, 2003). They seek to sustain politically defined
order and ordering via tracking, surveillance, and arrest. As such, they require compliance to
command from lower participants and citizens. (Peter and Jeffrey, 2015, p.246). Discretion is
universal and legitimate power applied by criminal justice professionals in modern policing, which
requires employing individual judgment for adjudicating whether they use a legal sanction in a
particular situation (McLaughlin, 2013).

Brunelleschi s Influence To The Renaissance
In 1418, the town fathers of Florence realized they had to face a major problem. Il Duomo, the
cathedral that was built to best all others, was missing its roof. This cathedral had been constructed in
1296 to commemorate Florence s new status as one of the most prosperous cities in Europe. The
cathedral would serve as a symbol of this new Florence. The town fathers had a vision of a colossal
dome that would rise to the heavens without support, pulling one s attention upwards. The only
obstacle was that the technology at the time could not accommodate a dome of the scale as planned,
with a diameter of 180 feet. A competition was announced with the prize of 200 florins, which was
more than a craftsman s two year wage at the time.

His biggest influence was most likely founding architecture as a separate and unique branch of art.
This established architects as more than just laborers and helped raise their status. Architects and other
artists in general received more credit for their work. Another similarly important influence
Brunelleschi had was popularizing the classical style by visiting and examining the ruins of Rome.
This helped repair the disintegrated reputation of Rome. This also established a new idea of beauty
that was achieved through harmony, symmetry and abiding by classical rules and styles. These rules
helped some artists to create individuality and to experience greater artistic freedom. Brunelleschi s
creation of new machinery was still impactful, but less so than the others. This revolutionary
technology ignited a new reliance on science and technology until the point where math and the arts
were inseparably intertwined. Brunelleschi s construction of the dome of Il Duomo clearly shaped the
Renaissance by raising the status of artists and architects, reviving the classical style and creating a

Social Work Identity Working in a position and fulfilling your duties are not always the same concept.
During the interview Captain Geis emphasized several times that the most important part of this job
was the soldier who was supported (2012). In this effect he embodied the NASW values of service,
integrity, human relationships, and worth of the person. These assignments gave him the opportunity
to care and direct soldiers, fulfilling both roles as a Social Worker and Officer. As an Army Officer the
lines between Social Worker and Officer may have been blurred together but each were an important
part of whom he is. A Social Work Officer is not just a Social Worker or an Officer. It is the
embodiment of a leader and caregiver; an individual whose career is dedicated to the taking care of
soldiers, their families, and the Army itself. This concept may tear at the ideology of the NASW, as
several of the ethical guidelines may be skewed as the requirements of the Army culture differ from
the civilian counterpart (Tallant Ryberg, 1999). Principally, a Social Worker strives to take care of the
client at all times (National Association of Social Workers, 2008). A major influence and difference for
Army Social Workers is the need to take care of the organization primarily. A Social Work Officer will

Persuasive Essay On Veganism
In today s society, our bodies have become the front image in all aspect of our lives.. Healthy living
styles and tips have exploded all over media across the United States. Veganism is one of the
upcoming lifestyles that thousands of families around the countries have adopted into their eating
habits. Beyond the health benefits of cutting out any and all animal products, veganism has become
the face to animal abuse, especially in the produce, handbag, and makeup industry. Companies like
People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) create projects and advertisements to encourage
people to go vegan. Recently, PETA has connected with Traci Bingham,a famous TV actor, to launch a
digital and poster advertisement. The advertisement displays Bingham s naked body painted like the
parts of farm factory animals used for produce in supermarkets. The advertisement All animals have
the same parts seeks to use ethos, pathos, logos, and kairos to argue that animals such as cattle have
the same body parts as people, and therefore are of equal value to human. Traci Bingham s credibility
with the sponsorship of PETA use the image of a naked woman to draw the desire of veganism to both
men and women in an era of health, fitness, and equality. Ethos and kairos are two rhetorical appeals
that this advertisement uses, referring to the credibility, or how trustworthy the source can be to draw
more people to believe it. PETA itself is one of the largest animal rights organizations, having

studied during the course of my masters program which includes few concepts of data warehousing,
data management and data analytics. These topics cover different ways of data manipulation such as
extraction, transformation techniques, loading of data using SQL queries (creation of tables, insertion
of values and checking their normal forms), creation of a data warehouse, evaluating its usefulness by
measuring several factors, applying data mining techniques to analyze data in a better way that will
lead to improved understanding of business and importance of analytics on business data.
2. ETL process
ETL is a process of managing databases by performing the below mentioned steps:
Step 1: Extraction Extract data from data sources.
Step 2: Transformation
 Data cleaning: remove errors, inconsistencies and redundancies.
 Data transformation: transform data into warehouse format.

The board of directors holds a very critical management function within or organization with the
following criteria essential for membership:
Experience as a CEO of an influential technology based company
Direct expertise in the semiconductor industry based on education and management experience
Direct experience in management of a company that buys from the semiconductor industry
You are correct in proclaiming that women and minorities are continuing to move into upper level
management positions in the business world; however this diversification is still in a growth stage.
Currently the pool of candidates for our board of directors tends to very heavily represent the
demographics currently holding positions on the board. As the previously described diversification of
the workforce reaches levels consistent with the required knowledge, experience, which it will in the
near future, a broader range of candidates will be available; naturally resulting in many organizations
being then able to form a board of directors representative of the diversified potential members. At this
time, as it will be in the future, our board of directors is selected with great care and concern with a
primary focus on ability to bolster profits. This is a duty for which we are responsible to our
shareholders.

Role Of Guilt In Macbeth
Focus Question: How do characters in the texts attempt to repress their guilt, and to what extent are
they successful?
Guilt is an emotion that we are all familiar with. It occurs when we act against our conscience, and
violate our moral code, which as humans, we often do. The degree of our guilt depends on how
significantly we view our misdeed. A psychotherapist, Maud Purcell, describes the more severe cases
of guilt as the greatest destroyer of emotional energy and says that staying consumed with guilt will
keep you from moving forward in a positive and productive way. Hence properly dealing with guilt is
crucial, which would explain why it is explored in many texts, including: Macbeth by William
Shakespeare, The Tell Tale Heart by Edgar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Set in the 11th century Scotland, killing her king would have been the greatest crime Lady Macbeth
could commit in her community. However, blinded by ambition, she chooses to ignore her conscience,
seeking spirits to stop up the access and passage to remorse, that no compunctious visitings of nature
shake my fell purpose. Lady Macbeth wants to be inhumane, as she wants to feel and show neither
remorse nor compassion the emotions that are part of being human. Lady Macbeth s refusal to
acknowledge her conscience may explain why at the start, we as readers cannot identify any traces of
her guilt. For example, immediately after the regicide, unlike the guilt ridden Macbeth, Lady Macbeth
declares that a little water clears us of this deed . We can infer that she believes her sin is so
insignificant that mere water can wash it away; implying that there is no reason to feel guilty.
Likewise, the narrator of The Tell Tale Heart at first also tries to ignore his conscience and hence his
guilt. We know this because Poe initially positions us to see the narrator as a psychopath, someone
who feels no empathy nor remorse, as the narrator murders an old man whom he loved and who had
never wronged [him] . Unlike Lady Macbeth, object there was none the sole reason for his controlled
and calculative murder was because of the old man s vulture eye which made the narrator s blood
[run] cold and chilled the very marrow of [his] bones. After the successful murder and the cunning
concealment of the body, the narrator smiled gaily as [the old man s] eye would trouble him no more.
He is so cunning and has full control of his emotions that he even satisfied and convinced the police
officers. Poe compels us to question the humanity of the narrator, as he seems emotionless and
ruthless. Both characters denial of guilt seems to be successful at first. However, as the stories
progress, it is clear

Stress-Related Back Pain Research Paper
Millions of Americans have experienced back pain at one point or another in their life. Back pain is
one of the most common complaints that a doctor will hear from a patient on a visit. Understanding
the source of your pain can be very overwhelming and frustrating, especially when a structural
explanation cannot be provided. Could your back pain be triggered by stress? For many individuals,
stress is not the first thing that comes to mind when trying to establish the cause of their back pain.
However, it is quite possible that stress is the primary cause of your back pain. Stress related back pain
is real. What is stress related back pain? This is a back pain that is initiated by the psychological or
emotional factor stress, or is maintained by it, or both. In simpler terms, when we hold stress in our
bodies, it can cause a physical change that leads to back pain. Physician and professor of physical
medicine and rehabilitation at New York University, John Sarno MD, who helped to popularize the
notion of stress related back pain, contends that the patient s feelings, personality, and unconscious
issues are the direct cause of the back pain. Stressful life situations, coupled with personality

The Pros And Cons Of Social Enempreneurship
Creation of Jobs aiming on changing business models
It is not that innovation and automation have resulted in unemployment or will lead to unemployment
instead innovation is actually intrinsic to the changing business models across the world. Today s is an
economy of innovation . We need to create innovative jobs that would complement the innovative
machines and technologies that are created. David Nordof and Vint Cerf recently in their book
Disrupting Unemployment argue that there is a need to develop a people centered rather than a task
centered economy. There is a need to create value of people rather than just focusing on lower costs of
tasks.
This essay argues that there needs to be a two fold strategy to rethink the unemployment crises taking
it away from a superficial entanglement of acronyms and arcane charts. The two fold strategy

MRI s are more effective in diagnosing issues in the central nervous system than CT scans as they

Cheer Is A Sport Essay
Cheer has been around for a long time. It may not be the oldest or best sport in the world, but it is

Cheer was founded by Johnny Campbell, he lead the first cheers on November, 1898 at the Minnesota

Counter Reform Of The Roman Catholic Church
Counter Reform of the Roman Catholic Church
The reading this week covered a pretty expansive timeline, starting in 1534 with the founding of the
Society of Jesus, the Jesuits, through the issuance of both The Doctrine of Papal Infallibility,
established in 1870, and The Doctrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in 1950. Not to
leave out one of the most significant happenings in Christian History, the eighteen years of The
Council of Trent, we covered a span of more than 400 years of Church History. There were primarily
two things that stood out for me. One being the absence of any presentation or even mention of the
incredibly voice of the Church Magisterium condemning racial slavery throughout this time,
especially in perspective to the challenged authority of the Roman Pontiff and the doctrinal teaching
of papal infallibility and the second being the incredible amount of time that passed before the Roman
Catholic Church responded to the disputes and claims of the now excommunicated Martin Luther and
the growing Protestant movement.
From 1435 to 1890, there were numerous bulls and encyclicals from several popes, condemning what
they saw as a different slavery and the slave trade. (Panzer) It was apparent that the chattel slavery
being witnessed at this time was different from the slavery mentioned biblically and practiced
historically. Pope Paul III stated that this practice of enslaving an entire ethnic group of people for no

other buses starting January 1st 2017. This will affect many who go to Norwalk Community College
from the train station.
The Norwalk hour covered the story before the majority of the campus found out. The article focused
solely on the changes the shutdown of just the NCC shuttle will have on some students like Jesse
Lawrence and faculty as well.

the bus schedules which is not limited to the NCC shuttle. This is only a proposal ... Show more

The public hearings took place October 17 and 18 same times as the informational meetings. This lead
to some confusion.
NCC Students who showed up to the informational meetings left shortly after being told that in these
meetings the public is not allowed to voice their opinions since it was not a public hearing. There was
however a testimony form that could be filled out telling the Transit how the changes will affect you
which was not advertised.
The informational meeting was set up so that there were four tables that people can sit at while they
wait for one of the board members or Morton to talk to them about the changes they wanted to make
to the bus schedules.
The board gave out printed Power Points at this meeting explaining every change they are trying to
make and a couple other important documents. There were three bus drivers there but none that are
going to be impacted heavily by the changes being made.
Morton is responsible for the transit company as a whole and she explained that the transit is funded
by the state and federal transit system. Morton talked to each person that stayed at the informational
meeting to explain the reason behind her plan.
Our plan was to address the least productive the lowest ridership and you ll find in the proposals how
much the average passenger revenue per hour and how they were proposed and keeping in mind that

African Americans Should NOT Be Allowed In Law Enforcement
Just the other day as I was watching the news I became aware of another police involved shooting of
an unarmed African American man. With that being said after watching the video a handful of times I
came to the conclusion that this man was not posing an intimate treat to law enforcement offices. This
can be said to be true because the man didn t appear to be doing anything out of the ordinary. In fact it
looked like he was doing what law enforcement would have wanted him to do. Nevertheless another
unarmed man was killed, this time with his hands in the air. This particular incident then made me
think about our first live session. I believe that to be the case because we spent a significant amount of
time talking about what makes us

Benefits Of Eating Healthy Diet Essay
It is often hard for me to maintain a healthy diet. Although I have took several classes that outline the
benefits of eating healthy, I often find myself setting a healthy eating goal and relapsing the next day.
My goals first consisted of me getting a balanced diet for three months. This goal began to fail after
two days. I had visited family members during the thanksgiving holiday and ate several unhealthy
foods. I then set a small goal of consuming only healthy foods for a week. I wrote down the foods I
would eat each day, within that week, and their proportion size. This goal last for three days, and
failed due to financial issues. Foods that were easy to prepare became my best friend. However, when
I became pregnant, I began to gain excuses weight. My doctor informed on the importance it was to
eat a balanced diet. He also taught me the effects unhealthy foods could have on the baby, as well as
me while being pregnant. Eating healthy then became a struggle, due to me having a loss of appetite.
Now that I am not pregnant anymore, and have gained my appetite back, it was not evident to me the
different foods and calories I consume in a day. Completing a dietary analysis has allowed me to gain
insight on the foods I eat, my normal calorie intake, and the amount of calories recommended. For 24
hours, I wrote down everything I consumed. This included meals, drinks, condiments, and snacks. I
began my day by eating 1 pack of Quaker corn grits with cheese, two sausage links, a

What Is Asian Americans Considered A Model Minority
Though Asians make up the largest portion of the world s population, Asian Americans are one of the
least represented minority groups within the United States. Out of an estimated 318 million people
living in the U.S., Asians account for 5.2%, or approximately 17 million people. Compared to
Hispanics at 54 million and African Americans at 42 million, Asians and/or Asian Americans are
vastly outnumbered by the two other major minority groups and even more so by the majority,
European Americans. Even though Asians are typically considered the model minority , they are faced
with the same issues that plague many other minority groups within the U.S. today to include
stereotypes, prejudice, discrimination and ethnocentrism. There has been a history of discriminatory
national policies directed at the immigration of Asians to the U.S. and in times of duress, the labeling
and targeted institutional discrimination of specific ethnicities of Asian Americans as traitors based
solely on country of origin and not on the deeds and actions of said U.S. citizens (Japanese internment
camps of World War II). The label Asian American represents over 40 different subgroups, with each
having their own customs, values, and languages. Very rarely does one stop and think of the diversity
that the label Asian American represents. It can sometimes be easy to fall into the practice of believing
that all Asian Americans are the same, unless of course you deal with a variety of different ethnicities

  • 2. The Aftermath of Socialism in Eastern Europe Introduction The aftermath of the fall of state socialism in Eastern Europe came with hope and high expectations from the world at large. Many people awaited the justification of the liberal democratic model in the emerging social and political environments. The concept of civil society that had been idealized by many western European and American nations was central to the discourse of transformation. It represented the voice of the hitherto marginalized and repressed people who were expected to emerge from the ruined regime of state organized collectivity. There was great anticipation in the affairs of women concerning their mobilization. This is because they were the most affected groups socially and economically during the transition. The transformation from state socialism to liberal democracy since 1989 was accompanied by fundamental shifts in the material conditions of society and daily life. Many Eastern European countries have been transformed into market economies and liberal democracies. They have been assimilated into NATO and the European Union. However, both the economy and the political transformations have been radical. This is because the changeover from socialism to capitalism in most Eastern European countries was without precedent (Swain, 2011). The reworking the discourses and concepts used to make sense of the social and political landscape led political and economic changes in Eastern Europe. However, not all groups have fared well in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Abstract: For last 37 years as a world we have spent lot of time in studying climate change and fixing a blame. First World Climate Conference was held on 12 23 February 1979 in Geneva. Also different government across worlds are promoting development and use of EV automobiles and renewable energy. • 4. Workplace Diversity Of The Workplace Job s face many struggles and challenges each and every day. Workplace diversity is something which is being talked about the most here lately. Out breaks of minimum wage, sexualities, gender, and even your skin color affects what diversity a business would want. Within the business, the professional level is set pretty high due to the superior designers making us able to dress well fashioned. When people step into a business they do not want someone that is going to walk in with a t shirt and gym shorts, they would rather them be in dress pants and a nice dress shirt with fashionable shoe wear. It does not have to be the top notch designer clothing, just something which doesn t scream I just woke up from bed. The thing which is being most talked about these days is diversity. People who are African American, white, Hispanic, gay, lesbian, bisexual, male, or even female could feel unwanted at a higher end business. The more people are expanding their personalities and how much they want to be shown that anyone could do anything just as much as the next man is outrageous. Workplace diversity is becoming more intense as the years continue on and it is important to employers and employees for a number of reasons, a few of them being that it would gain mutual respect with everyone, conflict resolution would not be as much of an issue, and lastly the increased exposure due to all of the workplace diversity. • 6. Models of Corrections Essay The history of correctional thought and practice has been marked by enthusiasm for new approaches, disillusionment with these approaches, and then substitution of yet other tactics (Clear 59). During the mid 1900s, many changes came about for the system of corrections in America. Once a new idea goes sour, a new one replaces it. Prisons shifted their focus from the punishment of offenders to the rehabilitation of offenders, then to the reentry into society, and back to incarceration. As times and the needs of the criminal justice system changed, new prison models were organized in hopes of lowering the crime rates in America. The three major models of prisons that were developed were the medical, model, the community model, and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many criminals re offend after they are released because they were put back into society with no money and no job and no place to live. Gradually allowing criminals to reenter society and helping them to find jobs will put many on the right track. This program allows people a second chance and the possibility to change their lives around. This program seems to be a necessity yet it will not work for everyone. Not all criminals should be let out on the street again. Just because you give a murderer a job and some money and secure them a place to stay, you have no idea whether they have the desire to kill again . This program would work for those that were ready to reenter society and would be extremely beneficial to those who have nothing on the outside to help them. The third aim at bettering the system of corrections in America was the idea of the crime control model. The crime control model was based on the assumption that criminal behavior can be controlled by more use of incarceration and other forms of strict supervision (Clear 57). This new model was designed with the intent to incarcerate prisoners for longer periods of time. Under this program the death penalty was reinstated in thirty seven states. This model was thought to have worked best for violent offenders such as drug dealers and murderers. It seems as though this program was created to scare people from committing a crime because of the strict punishment that would occur. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Presentation Of The Statement Of Cash Flows Presentation of the Statement of Cash Flows The statement of cash flows is a relatively new statement. Focused on cash basis accounting rather than accrual basis, the purpose of this statement is to describe the effects of a company s cash inflows and outflows. This paper will discuss the current standards for the statement of cash flows, the history of the statement, and if the direct method or indirect method is more advantageous for the users. Current Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) states, [i]n reporting cash flows from operating activities, entities are encouraged to report major classes of gross cash receipts and gross cash payments and their arithmetic sum the net cash flow from operating activities (the direct method) (ASC 230 10 45 25). In addition, per ASC 230 10 45 30, if a company chooses to report the change in cash flow from operating activities using the direct method, it must also include a separate schedule containing the indirect method, which is a reconciliation of net income to cash flows from operating activities. In choosing to write the standards this way, the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) considered both methods and recognized the advantages of each. However, the board noted that neither method provided enough benefit on its own to justify the required use of one or the other. The board believes that the more comprehensive approach would be to use the direct method in the operating section of the statement of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Children Are An Important Part Of The Continuation Of... Children are an important part of the continuation of humanity, both as a species and culturally. However, there are few references, outside of the instances where laws in relation to orphans or widows or introduced, that discuss children in the Old Testament. There are times where the birth of a child is mentioned, as is the case when Eve bore Cain in Genesis 4.1. However, there is no mention of his childhood. Rather, the story continues when he is an adult farmer. The New Testament includes references to children other than as a reference to genealogy or to celebrate a birth. These are very important to understanding the shift in tone from the previous books of the Bible. In Matthew 18, the disciples ask Jesus who the greatest in the kingdom of heaven will be (18.1). He calls a child from among them before answering in the following verse. Before examining the answer, it is work noting that children are present. It is easy to forget when reading through the previous books that there are children, whether they are the patriarch s, a villager s, or a servant s, that could be present in many of the scenes depicted. They are not mentioned because their presence is unimportant to that particular tale. However, here they are important. So important, that Jesus feels the need to bring one to him. It is also important to note that the text only says that [h]e called a child (4.2). This child is not identified as male or female, the fact is irrelevant to this particular story. ... One had to seek redress with multiple Courts arising from the same set of facts and the appeal system was equally as frustrating. Therefore, the Workplace Relations Act 2015 has been a welcome development albeit with its advantages and disadvantages and the process has been shortened and simplified to make it less expensive for both sides to pursue. • 10. The Feminization Of Poverty Trend And Black And White... To address and answer the question being asked in this paper, I could use the same methodology Low talks about in his paper. To be able to answer how much the feminization of poverty trend and black and white inequality trend can explain the U.S wealth distribution, I would use the same regression model lows uses. Instead of just looking at blacks versus whites, I will look at female headed households versus male headed household too. Similar to Low s paper, I will use the Binder Oaxaca decomposition to document the difference in wealth earnings if male headed households receives the female variables and vice versa. I hope to find that some of the wealth distribution can be explained by the variable differences between the male and female headed household. I expect the difference will only be noticeable towards the bottom of the distribution, probably below top 50%. The difference in median household incomes between whites and blacks has grown from about $19,000 in 1967 to roughly $27,000 in 2011. Median black household income was 59% of median white household income in 2011, up modestly from 55% in 1967; as recently as 2007, black income was 63% of white income. As of 2015, relative to the average hourly wages of white men with the same education, experience, metro status, and region of residence, black men make 22.0 percent less, and black women make 34.2 percent less. Black women earn 11.7 percent less than their white female counterparts. The widening gap has not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. The Wife Of His Youth Summary During a time of racial reconstruction in the United States, Charles W. Chesnutt composed the short story, The Wife of His Youth , about the struggles of a mixed race man. This man, Mr. Ryder, believes his fate lies between absorption by the white race and extinction in the black (Chesnutt 383). He believes that skin color determines if someone belongs to the superiority of white culture or the incapacity of black culture. In himself, he sees the progressiveness of white culture and in a former African American friend, Liza Jane, he sees the extinction of blacks. The author uses vivid descriptions of the characters appearance and mannerisms to show the traits that specifically belong to white culture or black culture that mirror their fate. This creation of two cultures that hold specific and separate qualities add emphasis to the resolution of the story where we find there is a place to meet in the middle of the two. The characters skin color sets up a basis for traits that define success or extinction. For example, Mr. Ryder uses himself as someone whose lighter skin has predetermined his fate of superiority. The protagonist is in a society of fellow mixed race individuals called the Blue Vein Society whose focus is to establish social standards among a group of people whose social condition presented [has] almost unlimited room for improvement (Chesnutt 381). This social condition needed is being white white enough to show blue veins (Chesnutt 381). By using ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some of the Natives agreed to go to Indian territory on their own but, the majority of them didn t like the idea of leaving their home. Many of the natives fought and raided the settlers many of the natives tried to make peace with the white men. Soon many of the Natives grew weary and finally decided to cede their land and move to Indian Territory. Still many Natives had to be forced to make the journey. Many of the natives didn t survive the journey. The Five Tribes that were removed were the Choctaw,Creek,Chickasaw,Cherokee, and the Seminole. The Choctaw were the first tribe to be encouraged to located to Indian Territory after the 1820 Treaty of Doak s Stand. The Choctaw that did decide to move to Indian Territory peacefully found that many white settlers were living on the land that was promised to them. The Choctaw Boundary Treaty helped to get rid of the white settlers and establish a boundary in what is now Oklahoma. The Choctaw that stayed behind in the Mississippi area were starting to realize that removal was the only way to survive, due to the State laws and government favoring the whites. • 21. Discretion In Policing State and territory police play a pivotal role in protecting community safety and protection. Policing was a combination of national economic interests, domestic and international security, and represented in time by distinctive organizations (Chapman, 1970; Emsley, 1994). They have responsibility for peace preservation, and crime prevention as well as upholding the laws, providing assistance in personal emergencies, and coordinating and managing emergency incidents. Since the police can employ the discretionary powers, which is a flexible way to dispose of social problems, in a manner that either directs offenders to or diverts them away from, further penetration into the justice system, they are seen as the gatekeepers of the criminal justice system, model authority, and law abiding enforcement (Rob and Santina, 2015, p.348; Wortley, 2003). They seek to sustain politically defined order and ordering via tracking, surveillance, and arrest. As such, they require compliance to command from lower participants and citizens. (Peter and Jeffrey, 2015, p.246). Discretion is universal and legitimate power applied by criminal justice professionals in modern policing, which requires employing individual judgment for adjudicating whether they use a legal sanction in a particular situation (McLaughlin, 2013). ... • 22. Brunelleschi s Influence To The Renaissance In 1418, the town fathers of Florence realized they had to face a major problem. Il Duomo, the cathedral that was built to best all others, was missing its roof. This cathedral had been constructed in 1296 to commemorate Florence s new status as one of the most prosperous cities in Europe. The cathedral would serve as a symbol of this new Florence. The town fathers had a vision of a colossal dome that would rise to the heavens without support, pulling one s attention upwards. The only obstacle was that the technology at the time could not accommodate a dome of the scale as planned, with a diameter of 180 feet. A competition was announced with the prize of 200 florins, which was more than a craftsman s two year wage at the time. One entry stood ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His biggest influence was most likely founding architecture as a separate and unique branch of art. This established architects as more than just laborers and helped raise their status. Architects and other artists in general received more credit for their work. Another similarly important influence Brunelleschi had was popularizing the classical style by visiting and examining the ruins of Rome. This helped repair the disintegrated reputation of Rome. This also established a new idea of beauty that was achieved through harmony, symmetry and abiding by classical rules and styles. These rules helped some artists to create individuality and to experience greater artistic freedom. Brunelleschi s creation of new machinery was still impactful, but less so than the others. This revolutionary technology ignited a new reliance on science and technology until the point where math and the arts were inseparably intertwined. These assignments gave him the opportunity to care and direct soldiers, fulfilling both roles as a Social Worker and Officer. As an Army Officer the lines between Social Worker and Officer may have been blurred together but each were an important part of whom he is. A Social Work Officer is not just a Social Worker or an Officer. It is the embodiment of a leader and caregiver; an individual whose career is dedicated to the taking care of soldiers, their families, and the Army itself. This concept may tear at the ideology of the NASW, as several of the ethical guidelines may be skewed as the requirements of the Army culture differ from the civilian counterpart (Tallant Ryberg, 1999). Healthy living styles and tips have exploded all over media across the United States. Veganism is one of the upcoming lifestyles that thousands of families around the countries have adopted into their eating habits. Beyond the health benefits of cutting out any and all animal products, veganism has become the face to animal abuse, especially in the produce, handbag, and makeup industry. Companies like People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) create projects and advertisements to encourage people to go vegan. Recently, PETA has connected with Traci Bingham,a famous TV actor, to launch a digital and poster advertisement. The advertisement displays Bingham s naked body painted like the parts of farm factory animals used for produce in supermarkets. The advertisement All animals have the same parts seeks to use ethos, pathos, logos, and kairos to argue that animals such as cattle have the same body parts as people, and therefore are of equal value to human. Traci Bingham s credibility with the sponsorship of PETA use the image of a naked woman to draw the desire of veganism to both men and women in an era of health, fitness, and equality. • 30. Role Of Guilt In Macbeth Focus Question: How do characters in the texts attempt to repress their guilt, and to what extent are they successful? Guilt is an emotion that we are all familiar with. It occurs when we act against our conscience, and violate our moral code, which as humans, we often do. The degree of our guilt depends on how significantly we view our misdeed. A psychotherapist, Maud Purcell, describes the more severe cases of guilt as the greatest destroyer of emotional energy and says that staying consumed with guilt will keep you from moving forward in a positive and productive way. Hence properly dealing with guilt is crucial, which would explain why it is explored in many texts, including: Macbeth by William Shakespeare, The Tell Tale Heart by Edgar ... However, blinded by ambition, she chooses to ignore her conscience, seeking spirits to stop up the access and passage to remorse, that no compunctious visitings of nature shake my fell purpose. Lady Macbeth wants to be inhumane, as she wants to feel and show neither remorse nor compassion the emotions that are part of being human. Lady Macbeth s refusal to acknowledge her conscience may explain why at the start, we as readers cannot identify any traces of her guilt. For example, immediately after the regicide, unlike the guilt ridden Macbeth, Lady Macbeth declares that a little water clears us of this deed . We can infer that she believes her sin is so insignificant that mere water can wash it away; implying that there is no reason to feel guilty. Likewise, the narrator of The Tell Tale Heart at first also tries to ignore his conscience and hence his guilt. We know this because Poe initially positions us to see the narrator as a psychopath, someone who feels no empathy nor remorse, as the narrator murders an old man whom he loved and who had never wronged [him] . Unlike Lady Macbeth, object there was none the sole reason for his controlled and calculative murder was because of the old man s vulture eye which made the narrator s blood [run] cold and chilled the very marrow of [his] bones. After the successful murder and the cunning concealment of the body, the narrator smiled gaily as [the old man s] eye would trouble him no more. He is so cunning and has full control of his emotions that he even satisfied and convinced the police officers. Poe compels us to question the humanity of the narrator, as he seems emotionless and ruthless. Both characters denial of guilt seems to be successful at first. Not to leave out one of the most significant happenings in Christian History, the eighteen years of The Council of Trent, we covered a span of more than 400 years of Church History. One being the absence of any presentation or even mention of the incredibly voice of the Church Magisterium condemning racial slavery throughout this time, especially in perspective to the challenged authority of the Roman Pontiff and the doctrinal teaching of papal infallibility and the second being the incredible amount of time that passed before the Roman Catholic Church responded to the disputes and claims of the now excommunicated Martin Luther and the growing Protestant movement. The board gave out printed Power Points at this meeting explaining every change they are trying to make and a couple other important documents. There were three bus drivers there but none that are going to be impacted heavily by the changes being made. Morton is responsible for the transit company as a whole and she explained that the transit is funded by the state and federal transit system. Morton talked to each person that stayed at the informational meeting to explain the reason behind her plan. • 43. African Americans Should NOT Be Allowed In Law Enforcement Just the other day as I was watching the news I became aware of another police involved shooting of an unarmed African American man. With that being said after watching the video a handful of times I came to the conclusion that this man was not posing an intimate treat to law enforcement offices. This can be said to be true because the man didn t appear to be doing anything out of the ordinary. In fact it looked like he was doing what law enforcement would have wanted him to do. Nevertheless another unarmed man was killed, this time with his hands in the air. This particular incident then made me think about our first live session. I believe that to be the case because we spent a significant amount of time talking about what makes us ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Benefits Of Eating Healthy Diet Essay It is often hard for me to maintain a healthy diet. Although I have took several classes that outline the benefits of eating healthy, I often find myself setting a healthy eating goal and relapsing the next day. My goals first consisted of me getting a balanced diet for three months. This goal began to fail after two days. I had visited family members during the thanksgiving holiday and ate several unhealthy foods. I then set a small goal of consuming only healthy foods for a week. I wrote down the foods I would eat each day, within that week, and their proportion size. This goal last for three days, and failed due to financial issues. Foods that were easy to prepare became my best friend. However, when I became pregnant, I began to gain excuses weight. My doctor informed on the importance it was to eat a balanced diet. He also taught me the effects unhealthy foods could have on the baby, as well as me while being pregnant. Eating healthy then became a struggle, due to me having a loss of appetite. Now that I am not pregnant anymore, and have gained my appetite back, it was not evident to me the different foods and calories I consume in a day. Completing a dietary analysis has allowed me to gain insight on the foods I eat, my normal calorie intake, and the amount of calories recommended. For 24 hours, I wrote down everything I consumed. This included meals, drinks, condiments, and snacks. I began my day by eating 1 pack of Quaker corn grits with cheese, two sausage links, a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. What Is Asian Americans Considered A Model Minority Though Asians make up the largest portion of the world s population, Asian Americans are one of the least represented minority groups within the United States. Out of an estimated 318 million people living in the U.S., Asians account for 5.2%, or approximately 17 million people. Compared to Hispanics at 54 million and African Americans at 42 million, Asians and/or Asian Americans are vastly outnumbered by the two other major minority groups and even more so by the majority, European Americans. Even though Asians are typically considered the model minority , they are faced with the same issues that plague many other minority groups within the U.S. today to include stereotypes, prejudice, discrimination and ethnocentrism. There has been a history of discriminatory national policies directed at the immigration of Asians to the U.S. and in times of duress, the labeling and targeted institutional discrimination of specific ethnicities of Asian Americans as traitors based solely on country of origin and not on the deeds and actions of said U.S. citizens (Japanese internment camps of World War II). The label Asian American represents over 40 different subgroups, with each having their own customs, values, and languages. Very rarely does one stop and think of the diversity that the label Asian American represents. It can sometimes be easy to fall into the practice of believing that all Asian Americans are the same, unless of course you deal with a variety of different ethnicities ...
