The End of Easy Everything
One of the major issues in global affairs today consists of the supply of energy and other minerals and
commodities. Michael Klare in The End of Easy Everything argues that the transformation from an
effortless to a more resilient resource period will be expensive. Looking at the state of the supply of
energy oil and natural gas today, I tend to agree with the findings as presented by Michael Klare.
Klare explores contentious issues in which easily obtained supplies are terminating. Particularly,
companies that deal in such resources must turn to the more difficult methods to extract sources of oil,
natural gas, and various minerals. This has led to controversial methods such as deep water oil wells,
hydrofracking for natural gas and other energy sources. Also, the acid fracking for copper: which
some environmentalists maintain that these methods cause environmental damage and should not be
permitted.
Klare argues that discovery of a natural resource, for instance, oil, result to producers seeking and
exploiting the most desirable, best quality and those closest to markets. Over time, these resources
become scarce, of poorer quality, harder to extract and extend into the further away area from the
market hence need for discovery of other means of obtaining the resource. These means may cause
several problems, which may include;

Plato s Dialogue, Republic, And The Claims Of The Modern...
Philosophers are commonly viewed as useless and foolish in the modern world. Some people see
philosophers of the past as people who attempted to understand important aspects of human nature,
different ideologies, and social problems only to fail or not provide universal answers or solutions.
However, there are others who see the importance of philosophers and how they have become to
understand aspects of life and human nature before anyone else; Plato is a person who sides with the
argument that philosophers play an important role in society. In Plato s dialogue, Republic, he
attempts to discover justice and to convey the importance philosophers possess in ensuring a just
society. The main argument that will be addressed in this essay is that philosophers are useful and are
essential to guarantee a truly just city. In this paper I will use Plato s dialogue, Republic, and the
claims mentioned throughout to support and build my agreement with Plato in arguing that having
philosophers in rule ensures a just and honest society. The main question presented in, Republic is
what is justice; both in the individual and in the city. These concepts of justice need to be addressed
before determining that by having philosophers in rule, the city will be truly just. By providing Plato s
definition of justice in the individual and the city it will be easier to understand why philosophers are
the only people who understand justice and how to implement it into a society. Plato uses the

Advantages Of Living A Longer Life
People often say that life is short, but is it really? Yes, it is a fact that life is totally unpredictable, no
one actually knows what is going to happen the next day, or even in the next hour. So how can
someone actually say that life is short? Is it really short or people doesn t just live completely? A lot of
people are afraid of uncertainties, especially when it comes to death, since everyone can die any time,
only a couple of people in this world get a chance to grow old and actually say that they have lived.
However, there are actually ways to increase your chances of living a longer life, and here are some of
them

Medically Imaging the Body with Magnetics and...
Introduction Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a way of medically imaging the body with the use
of a magnetic field and radiofrequency waves. (1) As image quality of MRI continues to improve,
more MRI exams are being ordered. Increasing MRI exams leads to increased wait times. Due to
current wait lists, the health status of patients may decrease, influencing the type of treatment the
patient will require once removed from the wait list. (7) The advances in technology have increased in
the past decade, with MRI procedures are vastly growing to provide superior diagnostic quality
compared to other modalities. New technologies are also allowing for faster scan times and further
increased image quality. (9) Wait Times: What and Why ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(6) Although wait times for MRI have decreased across Canada, from 2012 to 2013, by an average of
8.4 weeks to 8.3 weeks, BC patients are waiting the longest, at 16 weeks, for an MRI scan compared
to the rest of Canada. (6) Physicians believe Canadian patients are waiting 3 weeks longer to receive
treatment following a specialist appointment than what is considered clinically acceptable. (6) Delays
could also be due to further investigation or treatments that may be required prior to a specialist
referral or specific health care services. (7) Wait times can be increased due to patient needs outside of
the health care system. Only 11.1% of patients on the overall health care waiting lists are due to
patient requests for delay of postponing of treatment. (6) How to Decrease MRI Wait Times Wait
times can be decreased for MRI by increasing the provincial funding for health care systems by the
government of Canada. (7) With an increase of funding, more scanners could be purchased, more
technologists could be hired to run the scanners, and hospital booking systems may become more
efficient. (4, 7) MRI scanners could also be operated for extended hours, allowing the number of scans
each day to increase. (4) Wait times could also be decreased by developing a standardized approach
for prioritizing exams and patient acuities, determining the urgency level of each patient. (6,4) Current
efforts that have been made to decrease the wait times by

How Hooke’s Law Has Led to Advancements in Respiratory...
Everyday amazing things happen in the human body. One of the things that happens is the way we
take a breath, how we are able to use that breath to sustain life. As a breath is taken in, there s many
different physical and gas laws that take place to allow it to happen. With Hooke s law I will be
discussing what it is, how it relates to respiratory care, and the medical advances it may include.
Hooke s law was named after the man that discovered it in 1660. Robert Hooke was a 17th century
physicist who discovered the relationship between the forces applied to a spring and elasticity. He
published his book in 1678 that included the description of his work. Hooke s law states that any
elastic body, like a spring is acted on by a unit of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once the limits have been reached, there is very little or no change that will occur in the response to
any pressure change. This is figured out by using the equation of change in pressure and the change in
volume. (Jardins, 2013) By using this equation it will help figure out how compliant the lungs are.
This is critical in figuring lung dysfunctions and developing care for a patient. One of the major
diseases that lowers the elastance of the lung and the most preventable is Chronic obstructive
pulmonary disease (COPD). COPD is categorized with an increase of airway resistance and the loss of
lung elasticity. As a restriction in airflow develops, it leads to the hyperinflation of the alveoli. Some
other diseases that are caused by low elastic conditions and is related to Hooke s law are traumatic
chest injuries, pneumonia, pneumothorax, pleural effusion, acute respiratory distress syndrome,
pulmonary edema, and interstitial lung disease. All of the disease and/or illness s cause the pressure
volume curve to slide to the right very quickly and allows the lung elastic properties to decrease
significantly. (Jardins, 2013) Hooke s law is directly related to the use of mechanical ventilation. If
when a patient is placed on a mechanical ventilation, you can exceed the limitations cause by the
lower elastance of the lung. A severe type of pneumothorax can occur in people who need mechanical
assistance to breathe. The action of the

Bourgeoisie And Proletariat In The Communist Manifesto By...
Class Co dependence of Bourgeoisie and Proletariat in Marx
According to Karl Marx, history is defined by class struggle. This epoch is one of an increasingly
polarized duality of Bourgeoisie and Proletariat; simply defined as an antagonism between the owners
of capital and means of production, and the wage labors with no capital to speak of; A byproduct of
Capitalism. Introduced in The Communist Manifesto as a war of sorts, violent and hostile, his
description continues both in the Manifesto and in Capital, to delve deeper beneath the surface layer
and evolves into a more complete evaluation of their complex codependent relationship. As opposed
to two oppositional parts of a whole society, they are irrevocably linked and intertwined, by very ...

Marx depicts two camps at war, but shortly thereafter at a multifaceted association between them.
They are not two sides of a civil war, but rather more intimately linked. The Bourgeoisie are described
as leaders of an Industrial army (of Proletariat), indicating in some sense, the two being parts of a
singular mechanism, one driving toward progress. The Proletariat masses of labourers, crowded into
the factory, are organised like soldiers. As privates of the industrial army they are placed under the
command of a perfect hierarchy of officers and sergeants. Not only are they slaves of the bourgeois
class, and of the bourgeois State; they are daily and hourly enslaved by the machine, by the over
looker, and, above all, by the individual bourgeois manufacturer himself. 479 There is definitely
exploitation and oppression of the Proletariat by the Bourgeoisie, but they are both part of a working
system, that of Capitalism. By definition the one class depends on the other for its very existence. One
cannot define a group as the owners of the means of production, without having a separate group that
therefor is not; there can be no class distinguished

Galileo Galilei s Contributions to Scientific Advancements
Galileo was probably the most appreciable astronomer, mathematician and scientist of his time. In fact
his work has been very essential in many scientific advances, even to this day. With things like
improving the telescope and the discovery of the heliocentric orbit of Earth. Galileo had many other
substantial discoveries that also had a great effect on astronomy.
In the early seventeenth century,Galileo Galilei, an Italian physicist, mathemitician, astronomer, and
philosopher, is known for improving the telescope and his support in Copernicanism. He was known
as Galileo. He has many different names for his brilliant work and observations in astronomy. Some of
his many names are father of observational astronomy , the father of physics . His main two
achievements were improving the telescope and observations to support Copercanicusm. Galileo
Galilei was born on February 15, 1564 to Vincenzo Galilei and Giulia degli Ammannati in Pisa, Italy.
His father, Vincenzo, was a musician. His family was not rich but they were of nobility.Galileo never
married but he did have a brief relationship with Marina Gamba. He met her on one of his trips to
Venice. She lived with Galileo and they had three children. In 1610 he moved to Florence, where he
took a position at The Court of the Medici family. In 1581 Galileo went to study at the University of
Pisa. His father hoped he would study medicine there, but Galileo studied physics. He mainly studied

Final Reflection Journal:
Diversity and Cultural Issues in TESOL Education
During the course entitled Diversity and Cultural Issues in TESOL Education, issues of diversity and
culture, as well as methods, strategies, and approaches for engaging English language learners were
examined. Students all over the world learn English for a variety of reasons. Some students must study
English as a requirement. Other students may wish to travel, study abroad, or work in the global
marketplace where knowledge of the English language is seen as a prerequisite for success. Still other
students have migrated to communities where English is spoken as the primary language. A school s
curriculum may be taught exclusively in English. Whatever the reasons for studying English may be,
the one thing students all over the globe learning English have in common is that they are all different.
Diversity includes different races, religions, ethnic origins, primary languages, among other human
traits and wide ranging economic circumstances.
TESOL Education
TESOL Education is a field of teaching that generally refers to the instruction of English as second or
foreign language. Freeman and Freeman (2011) define the acronym TESOL as, Teachers of English to
Speakers of Other Languages (p. 95). TESOL is the name of an organization that sets standards for
English second language acquisition. The acronym TESOL is also commonly used to describe this
field of study as a whole. In this

The Death Of A Bullet
Bang! A gunshot went off at night in the town of Hartsville, Montana. Diana Dixon died at 60 years of
age. The police found her body when the neighbors called them. It was that same night her son David
was found with blood on his coat. Diana was murdered and the town was in shock.
The police took David to the station questioning him about the night his mother was murdered. David
was the son of Diana Dixon, who adopted him as well as his sister Jennifer. He worked at a gas station
just down the road from his house, the place his mother was murdered.
At the crime scene, the shell of a bullet was found as well as footprints belonging to someone with
size 13 shoes. The same size David wore. The blood belonging to Diana, type AB+, was found on
David. David would keep telling the police he didn t kill his mother. In fact, David and his mother got
along well. They spent time together and went to church every Sunday. Everybody thought David was
guilty, except for one man who was about to uncover the facts.
The night Diana was murdered, October 19, a man by the name of James Mccullough was eating at
his favorite restaurant when he saw a car speeding by with two men. It looked like someone was just
driving until James saw masks on the men. He also saw the car stop. One of the men stepped out and
threw a bag in a dumpster. James later investigated the dumpster and found a gun! After reporting this
to the police, they ran the gun for fingerprints. One set was found. They belonged to

Freud And A Midsummer Night s Dream
William Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream, takes the audience on a wild and confusing ride
through the human unconscious. From the play within the play, to fairies causing mayhem, what is to
be considered reality? The notion of falling asleep and dreaming is introduced over and over in the
play, and leaves the audience wondering, is any of this real? Throughout this paper, I will attempt to
explain the parallels between Shakespeare s work, A Midsummer Night s Dream, and the work of the
Austrian neurologist, Sigmund Freud, whose most popular work is that of dreams and dream
interpretations. The interpretation of dreams... is the royal road to a knowledge of the part the
unconscious plays in the mental life (Freud). Shakespeare is actually the inventor of what we refer to
as Freudian psychology, and we see this at work in A Midsummer Night s Dream, as well as his other
plays. Sigmund Freud was a neurologist who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Humanity has searched for their significance and meanings, from the Old Testament dreams of
Pharaoh and of Jacob s dream of the ladder, to the ancient Egyptians and Greeks as being messages
from the gods. These vivid images that arise in the unconscious mind contain elements of our personal
identity, segments of our daily lives, as well as the bizarre. About three hundred years prior to Freud s
work on the subconscious, we see that Shakespeare, as evidenced in A Midsummer Night s Dream,
seemingly had a good grasp on the importance dreams played in our lives. The entire play seems like
one long dream, and this causes the audience to question the reality of the play. The sense of time also
lends to this notion, as it seems to be missing from the play. At times, just like dreams in real life, the
audience is dropped into the middle of the action without any direction as to what is happening, or the
events that led to where they

The Egyptian World
Throughout the Egyptian world, embalmers worked to preserve the inner life force that was thought to
reside within the body after death. It was common belief that by completing a seventy day process
known as mummification, the Ka, this spiritual entity, would be able to live on long after the person
died. Because of this, many people of the culture lived modest lives on Earth, saving immense
amounts of money and gold for intricate objects that could serve practical and decorative purposes for
their tombs. Every step of the preparations was handled with meticulous care as it was believed that
life on Earth was limited, while life in the afterlife was eternal. This cultural ideology of eternal life
after death is emulated by the statuary of the Egyptian world especially by the granite pair statue of
Nefu and Khemet setju from Giza, which was found in 1931 on the Harvard University Museum of
Fine Arts Expedition. During the Old Kingdom, artists worked to form statues that could accompany
the body within the tomb, and if necessary, serve as alternative dwellings for the Ka.The pair statue,
which was created between 2455 BC and 2350 BC in the Fifth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom, was
likely created for this reason. One can identify the gender of the figures by recognizing how Egyptian
artists typically depicted males with darker skin than women. This common practice along with the
residual red paint on the body of the figure at the right, allows one to conclude that the person on

to different types of conflict in different ways. Everybody has instincts, but the instincts vary from
person to person. Fight or flight for instance is an instinct that every person experiences when conflict

Anthem Racism Essay
Are all of the different types of national anthem protest in the NFL equally effective at protesting
racial injustices in the US, or are they all just being disrespectful to the flag and the country? There are
many ways players and teams are protesting the National Anthem in the NFL today. The Seattle
Seahawks locked arms and stood, the Pittsburgh Steelers didn t even come onto the field, and the
Arizona Cardinals were allowed to do whatever they felt was right. All of these teams claimed that
they were demonstrating unity and standing up for racial equality. The most effective way was
demonstrated by the Seahawks because they displayed their stance on racial injustices in the most
professional way. And while it is clear that these protests have made an uproar in the NFL community,
it is not clear on how effective all the different types of protests are.
This is not the first time professional athletes have protested racial injustices in front of the entire
nation to see. During the 1968 Olympics runners Tommie Smith and John Carlos held a fist in the air
while wearing beads and cloth for shoes to protest the lynching and poverty of African Americans.
And in 1996, Mahmoud Abdul Rauf, a point guard in the NBA, was suspended a game for sitting
during the National Anthem. His reason for sitting was that it was against his religion. He was
scrutinized for this and after his contract was up he never played in the NBA again, and this was

Looking at images like this analytically would be an excellent first step when crafting a research
paper. The image Theodore Roosevelt and John Muir at Glacier Point, Yosemite could inspire a visual
studies student to delve into further research on the creation of national parks, the politics surrounding
their establishment or the establishment of Yosemite specifically, or even more specific research on
either Theodore Roosevelt or John Muir. Personally, this image made me more interested in
understanding the use of images to market the national parks in the early twentieth century and how
this has changed with the rise of new technologies in the subsequent decades. Images like Theodore
Roosevelt and John Muir at Glacier Point, Yosemite can also be used to supplement a completed
research paper. If one were to write a research paper about the establishment of the National Park
System, the image Theodore Roosevelt and John Muir at Glacier Point, Yosemite would be a good
accompaniment. Not only is it informative in its own right, but it also spurs curiosity in the viewer. Is
the image part of a series of photographs of Roosevelt s travels with Muir? Did the two men like each
other or were they just posing together for posterity? And for the modern environmentalist, the
essential question maybe what does this landscape look like now? The answers to these questions
could be answered within the text of the research paper. It is suspected that the most important images
for the research paper will be those that require additional explanation for full comprehension. This

Turning Point In The Movie Dunkirk
2017 Box office blockbuster and critically acclaimed movie Dunkirk by director Christopher Nolan
was regarded as one of the better war movies of the decade. Dunkirk is based off the events that
occurred during World War II in a small western coastal city of France in June of 1940. After allied
forces had been pushed back from Belgium through Germanies ferocious blitzkrieg attacks, the
French and British armies were split apart. Over three hundred thousand men were left trapped in this
small western corridor of France, the outlook looked bleak. As German troops quickly approached the
forces trapped on the beach, many expected the panzer tanks to wipe out the sitting ducks. Germany
opted to make a critical decision to use their air force, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the movie we notice the big ships of the Royal Navy having troubles entering the shallow harbor, a
major problem for the evacuation. Only a few medic ships were able to make it to shore to help only a
handful of the wounded soldiers. As accurately depicted in the film, volunteer stretcher bearers were
used to load the medic ships as so many men were still left wounded and stranded on the beach. Just
like the film some of the men saw this as there way out of the death trap. Veteran Garth Wright has a
firsthand account of this occurring, They asked for volunteer stretcher bearers. Me and this other
fellow picked up what was left of this lad, put him on a stretcher and took him out on the latched up
Mole, Wright says of the pier like structure that the troops had built to take them out to rescuing ships.
I took him on board to a makeshift ward they had and went to leave, but the skipper said I could stay
on board. I could not believe my luck. Luckily for him he got to stay on the ship as the characters in
the movie were not as lucky and had to hide underneath the makeshift pier. One thing I noticed in the
movie is the pier looks professionally built and doesn t depict that the pier was actually built by
soldiers while under fire, which is quite impressive. The movie then goes away from the beach to
show the perspective from the men in

How Did Volkswagen Change Canada
ast night, the headline in a prominent German paper read that the Volkswagen compliance chief, Mrs.
Hohmann Dennhardt, will receive 12 million euro payout for quitting her job that was to run until the
end of 2018. She had been hired to clean up Volkswagen s damaged image brought about by diesel
emissions scandal. A challenging undertaking with millions of disgruntled customers spread across the
globe. Hohmann Dennhardt, justifies the payout with her claim that she fulfilled the contract (Germis

The Canadian innovation commercialization program was developed in 2012 (Government Services
Canada, 2017). To develop leadership and talent for innovation, the think tank also suggested a
national learning strategy to raise the average competency level of Canadians. This policy suggestion
has not been put into action which may give support to the forum discussion, where it was suggested
that countries are shifting their educational responsibility towards greater privatization and
commercialization (Regmi, 2017, February 1). By handing over educational responsibilities to
commercial forces, Canada may evade the long established responsibility of OECD countries to
follow fundamental educational values based on social justice and equality (Brown Tannok, 2009). At
a local level and as an educator and parent, I see no indication that schooling is preparing students for
innovation and creativity. Even when influenced by constructivist or universal design ideas, school
tasks starting in elementary school, up until CEGEP are generally highly structured, predictable and
offered in cookie cutter format. There is little room for creativity and few subjects are regularly
offered, such as music or visual arts, that support creativity and out of the box thinking to allow for a
more well rounded approach to education as suggested in the discussion forum (Hector,

guest and a geisha at a hot spring. Kawabata creates a love story that results into nothing. He creates
the theme of wasted effort between them. Through out the book, two situations of wasted effort is the
hobbies they took up and their relationship. Between the two of them they had little to nothing in
common but what brought them together was a little bit of luck and knowledge.

Steroid Case Study
1/ What is the difference between the upper and lower respiratory? The respiratory tract is the system
that allows you to breathe air into your lungs and back out again. The passageway that air travels
through is divided into two sections, the upper respiratory tract, and the lower respiratory tract.
The upper respiratory tract includes the nose, throat, voice box (larynx) and upper windpipe (trachea).
The lower respiratory tract includes bronchi (the two branches the windpipe divides into as it enters
the lungs), bronchioles (even smaller branches of air tubes) and alveoli (the tiny air sacs at the end of
the bronchioles).
The air that we breathe is full of germs, so infections of the respiratory tract are very common,

How does this type of steroid work? Who should NOT take this type of drug and why? Patient with
asthma can be given a corticosteroid (Prednisone) to help with the inflammation: Steroids are a family
of chemicals normally made within the body. They serve as hormones chemical signals that help to
regulate the body s growth and function. Some steroid hormones, like testosterone, stimulate the
formation of protein and growth of muscle. Competitive athletes have been known to take illicitly
derivatives of these body building steroids in large amounts to improve their athletic performance.
How does this type of steroid work? Steroids are taken in tablet or liquid form oral steroids are usually
prescribed for asthma that has become difficult to control by any other means; they are the most
effective treatment available for a severe attack of asthma. Most often, they are prescribed for a short
period of time: a short course may be as brief as 3 4 days or as long as 2 3 weeks. They are stopped
when asthma has gotten better and other treatments suffice to keep it under control. Longer periods of
treatment and continuous treatment with oral steroids are generally avoided except for the most
difficult to control asthma because of the undesirable side effects that often develop with prolonged

Basic Building Blocks
1. What are proteins composed of (ie basic building blocks)?
Amino acids are the smaller building blocks which protein is made of. There are 20 different amino
acids. Depending on length, sequence of amino acids and function; each protein has unique different
from each other. These amino acids have unique 3D shapes by fold up in complex ways.
2. List the amino acids and diagram their organic structure (C N bonds).
The 20 different amino acids are alanine, arginine, asparagines, aspartic acid, cysteine, glutamic acid,
glutamine, glycine, histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, proline, serine,

The two main basic secondary structures are the alpha helix and the beta sheet. The alpha helix
secondary structure of the protein coils because of the hydrogen bonds between the backbones of their
amino acids. The backbone of the amino acid is the peptide bonds. So because of the hydrogen bonds
forming between the amine nitrogens and the carbonyl oxygens in different amino acids the protein
has become a helix shape.
The beta sheet or the beta pleated sheet is designed from the hydrogen bonds between the carbonyl
oxygens in one strand binding with the amino hydrogens of the adjacent strand.

Male Dingoes Essay
Dingoes reproduce once per year, depending on the estrus cycle of the female dingo. The estrus cycle
usually comes once a year, but can come twice although the female dingo can only become pregnant
once a year (with the second time only seeming to be pregnant).
Male dingoes in most regions are virile throughout the entire year, but usually have a lower sperm
production in the summer. During studies on dingoes from the Eastern Highlands and Central
Australia living in captivity, no breeding cycle was noticed. The breeding was only regulated by the
heat of the female dingoes. A rise in the testosterone was observed in the male dingoes during the
breeding season (1 March 30 June), but this was shown to be linked to the heat of the female dingoes
and copulation. In contrast to the captive dingoes, captured dingo male from Central Australia did

During the mating season, dingoes actively defend their territory by using vocalisations, growling,
barking and dominance behaviour.
Most female dingoes living in the wild begin breeding at the age of two. Within their packs, the alpha
female goes into heat before the subordinate dingoes and suppresses mating attempts from the other
female dingoes. Male dingoes become sexually mature between the ages of one and three. The exact
beginning of breeding depends on age, seasonal conditions, geographic range and social status.
Among dingoes living in captivity, the pre estrus can last up to sixty days in the wild.
Generally, the only dingoes that can successfully breed in a pack are the alpha male and female, so the
other dingoes help to raise the dingo pups. The subordinates are actively prevented from breeding by
the alpha pair although some subordinate females have false pregnancies. If the pack structure breaks
up, low ranking or lone dingoes can successfully

Personal Counseling Scenarios
I had the privilege of interviewing Jason Hanson, a pastor from Sovereign Grace Church. Exposure of
counseling was early for Jason, watching his Dad oversee the high school ministry. Jason has
counseled various couples, parents and teens in and out of Sovereign Grace. He sees his job as an
opportunity to be invited into peoples lives, to serve them and see where they are in life. Faith in the
Lord is the core influence that Jason uses in his counseling and his clients are aware of this at the
beginning of every session. Since pastoral counseling is different than clinical counseling, Jason is
very careful not to cross ethical boundaries if physician or professional psychiatric help is involved in
the clients case. The goal of a session is to find where God is in the situation, to gain different
perspectives so the client can discover more hidden details of their story. Sessions can vary to client,

There are so many people who are uneducated about genital herpes; it s more common than known.
There are at least 45 million people infected by this virus and many are as young as 12 years of age.
Studies show that 1 out of 5 adolescents/adults are infected with the Herpes Simplex Virus. 1 out of 4
women are infected with genital herpes. This virus is more common in women than in men likely
because of the male to female transmission.
Genital herpes can be passed through skin to skin contact. Once a person has contracted the virus it is
fairly easy to pass it along to someone else through various ways. The number one way is by having
sex with someone who is shedding the herpes virus either during an outbreak (As pertains to genital
herpes, the virus becomes active and produces visible symptoms, such as redness and sores) or during
a period with no symptoms. Kissing someone with herpes on the mouth, through casual, oral, anal,
and vaginal sex as well as skin to skin contact with the infected area. Objects such as toilet seats,
public seating, and hot tubs rarely spread the virus.
The signs and symptoms of genital herpes are different with each person who has the virus. Some
people with genital herpes mistake their symptoms for simple skin irritations such as razor burn, jock
itch, or even a yeast infection. People often assume that because the symptoms may

Designing A Stronger Behavior Management System
Self Assessment
Creating and implementing this unit on division for this diverse fifth grade class was able to help me
grow as an educator. While there were many strengths from this unit, there was also some areas of
growth that could have been made in order to make the unit even more successful. One major strength
from this unit was the differentiation of instruction and assessments. An area of growth for this unit
would be to create a stronger behavior management system in order to make the time dedicated to
math each day more valuable.
This inclusion classroom has a wide range of learners with varying ability levels. In math, there are
four tiered groups with some students who are above grade level, some on grade level, and some who
are two or three grade levels behind. This unit has rather abstract concepts that the students needed to
build an understanding of, and in order to do that I needed to make sure to differentiate the delivery of
instruction as well as the assessment types. This was a strength for this unit, because each lesson was
differentiated for the tiered groups in the form of pacing, guides, graphic organizers, assessments,
manipulatives, rubrics, and difficulty of problems. One specific way that I differentiated during this
unit was by providing students with guided notes, graphic organizers, and manipulative to increase
their understanding of abstract division strategies for solving multi digit division problems. Long

There are many reasons why these two are considered as the economical justifiable terms but some of
the points are as follows : Tax considerations as mentioned above it is very important aspect when
merger happens because with it the capital structure of the organizations. For instance let us assume
that there are two companies, company A and company B. They are deciding the merge. Here
company A is very high turnover and also the profit is outstanding thus the tax obligations is very high
and the company B runs in the debt. Thus if these companies unite the tax liability of Company A will
reduce and thus money can be reduced for going out. Even in future the tax liability will be less then it
is in existing situation. Synergy This is also referring to the stakeholders and merging companies. The
origin of the synergy can be done by many reasons they are a) financial economies, b) two separate
management strength, c) operating economies d) by the union of two companies the market power
will increase and also the competition will decrease. Thus synergy and tax considerations are main and
justifiable in this situation. Hostile merger As the name indicates the target company is been hostile.

John Maynard Keynes And The Classical Model Essay
Part One John Maynard Keynes is referred to as one of the most well known economists of his time.
Not only was he able to come up with a solution to essentially try to move the economy out of
recession and stop booms and busts, but his theory is still being used in todays day and age 70 years
later. One big question that has been asked repeatedly about Keynes theory is why did he not believe
in self adjustment of the economy. Keynes rejected the idea that market economies would
automatically move towards full employment. He claimed to have found many flaws in the classical
model as a whole (Davidson). Overall Keynes rejected the classical models claim that markets self
adjust to solve economic problem because his insight was the opposite of the classical model. He was
convinced that sometimes things don t sort themselves out. The economy would actually continue to
go into a downward spiral and the usual dynamic of supply and demand would essentially break
down. As far as policy prescriptions for a recession, Keynes stated that, If all else fails, the
government can spend the money (Davidson). Not only did he think this, he also was convinced that
they shouldn t raise taxes or try to balance the budget. If either of these things were to be done, it
would essentially cancel out any positive effect from spending. Keynes seemed to have felt very
strongly that his theory was bound to work, as well as the people who followed him and his theories
closely. However, economists

does this mean for cancer as a whole? The African American experience with cancer is marked by
under treatment and high mortality. To understand the causes behind these disparities in the African

African American s experience with cancer treatment is different than other ethnicities in the
treatments they choose and how the treatments ultimately work. Although breast conserving surgery
rates have increased among African American women, they still lag behind utilization rates of white
women (Shaver, Brown 339) Although black women choosing mastectomy over breast conserving
may be culturally relative, there are clear quality of life improvements for those who chose breast
conserving surgery. (Shaver, Brown 339) If so, then why do African American women choose
mastectomy more often? A possible reason can be a lack of knowledge concerning breast cancer and
its treatments. Going back to the idea that viewing cancer as a white person s disease will lead to a
lack of interest in learning about cancer. Another aspect to treatment is rejecting treatment all together.
It has been shown that older blacks prefer the use of self help treatment rather than medical treatments
(Goodwin et al 978) The preference for self help treatment stems from religious ideologies. Treatment
of cancer is directly related to how likely someone will be able survive cancer. Some treatments are
proven to be more effective than others yet African American women had shorter overall survival and
disease free survival than white women who received similar adjacent chemotherapy rates. (Shavers,

1. What were the common characteristics of all Indian cultures in the New World, and what were the
important differences among them? Indian cultures shared many similarities, while also each being
unique. First off, all natives were not exposed to Old World animals, food, culture and germs. Which
would make their initial contact much more devastating. For example, they all inhabited the Americas,
however they spanned from the Andes of Peru to the Arctic of Northern Canada. These geographic
differences shaped how the cultures developed and made each of them unique. For example, the

funniest play I had ever saw. Madea`s Class Reunion was first piece I laughed so hard that tears were

Perry`s life had been a great motivation of mine since I heard of his dedication and work ethic
throughout his entire life. Hearing his life story knowing what he has gone through is astonishing to

project the idea of a single unified gender oppression that is experienced evenly by all women but
rather is dictated by the color of your skin. In his films he focusses on the vocal point of African
American women entitlement in the world today. Also the empowerment aspect is very bold in his
movies because usually by the end of these films his main character is improves throughout her
hardship and journey. His films have focused mainly on African American problems or success.

Compare And Contrast Humans And Chimpanzees
Humans and Chimpanzees are more alike than most people think, specifically, in regards to behavioral
characteristics. This paper will attempt to highlight some of these characteristics. We will compare and
contrast the social dynamics, eating habits, the use of tools as well has various forms of
communication used by chimpanzees and humans. Findings will suggest that human behavior is
linked to a common ancestor to humans and chimpanzees. Chimpanzees are very social primates.
They can be found, much like humans, living in, and relying on communities to sustain themselves
(Gill 2016). One example is the fact that security is very important and male chimpanzees are often
observed patrolling their territory in groups (Lang 2016) much like police officers patrol their
jurisdiction to ensure their territory is safe. The example of chimpanzees securing their perimeter also
illustrates how territorial they are. In fact, they are just as territorial as humans. Imagine if someone
walks through a stranger s front door uninvited. In a lot of households, the unwelcome intruder could

distances in one plane are covered in plane trigonometry. Applications to similar problems in more

Essay On Into Thin Air
We are only as good as our equipment or at least that is how the saying goes, but what happens when
we have the best equipment and our bodies no longer tolerate atmospheric conditions? Into Thin Air,
written by Jon Krakauer, shows how individuals vary greatly in how well they can tolerate changes in
pressure, temperature or oxygen content of the air. This allows them to be one with themselves by
bounding with survival, while simultaneously displaying how slowly environmental changes set in,
but how rapidly the effects take a toll on the body. Despite breaking down the climb into camps the
climb s structure was one that was also hard to tackle. There was the base camp, camp one, camp two,
camp three and camp four. Krakauer, notes that all of the clients going up the mountain have difficulty
adjusting to the environmental changes, and though ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During Chapter 5, Hall is the one who is struggling most and as they arrive at base camp, they are
surprised at the conditions and effects that the expedition has had on the men already, especially Hall.
It is in this chapter, that Krakauer notes that the climbers were having difficulties sleeping and eating,
and cuts were not healing, and everyone was beginning to lose weigh. Additionally, Krakauer
mentions that other members of the team were having severe headaches and gastrointestinal problems.
However, Hall is confident in the acclimatizing process, but is also constantly studying the data, and
schedules to be sure that they do not encounter anything that they are not prepared for. Additionally,
Krakauer mentions that there is a difference between training in a gym than by training on an actual
mountain; he is concerned for many of his teammates because they have not climbed in a year or two

How Ultra s Customer Database Meets The Not Generally...
II. Not Generally Known or Readily Ascertainable
C A court is likely to find that Ultra s customer database meets the not generally known or readily
ascertainable element.
R In determining whether information is not generally known or readily ascertainable, courts consider
the following two Restatement factors: the extent to which the information is known outside of the
business and the ease or difficulty with which the information could be properly acquired or
duplicated by others. Al Minor, 117 Ohio St. 3d at 61 (citing Plain Dealer, 80 Ohio St. 3d at 524 25).
To determine whether the information is not generally known or readily ascertainable is if a trade
secret owner collected and/or compiled the information from a variety of sources, thus this may
support a finding that the information is not generally known or readily ascertainable. Salemi, 145
Ohio St. 3d at ¶29.
To determine whether a customer list is not generally known, it ordinarily includes not only the name
of a business or person but also information that is not generally available to the public, such as the
name of a contact person, a non public telephone or cell phone number, an email address, and other
data known only because of the relationship with the client. Salemi, 2014 Ohio 3914 at ¶18 (citing

Liberalism and Realism Essay
Realism and Liberalism are two extremely prominent theories of international relations. These
doctrines exhibit sagacious perceptions about war, foreign affairs and domestic relations. The
fundamental principles of protocol in which we rely upon aren t always apprehensive (Karle, Warren,
2003). By interpreting the data one could fathom these ideas. The assessment of these faculties wield
noteworthy dominance about the concepts of international affairs. In analyzing this data, you will
comprehend the variant relationship between Realism and Liberalism.
Realism is broadly defined as verisimilitude, meaning the faithful representation of reality (Donna M.
Campbell, 2011). Realism is the doctrine that universals exist outside the mind ... Show more content

Realism has been very effective in helping scholars understand the international system through the
concepts of altruism, survival, and self help. Realists believed that there are no codes of conduct in
which all states may guide their own actions. They believed that a state must be cognizant of the
events of the states evolved and that one must use a pragmatic approach to solve imminent issues.
They desired states to have supreme power over themselves in order to actively engage in the use and
expansion of military preeminence. George Evans and Jeffrey Newnham (Graham Evans and
Newnham, 1998) composed in their dictionary, that his fundamental outlying attainment of authority
is appropriate, lucid, and is a highly anticipated ambition of foreign policy. Realism is branded a
pessimistic view in that they argue that states will amass alliances to guarantee equal power giving no
state dictatorship (Rosenberg, Justin, 1990). The moral outlook of Realists was established by parodies
subsequently identifying their morality as a denunciation of polite mannerisms in fictional stories; for
example, Harper Lee s novel, To Kill a Mockingbird . The highlights of the trial of this book in the
scene when Robinson was on trial for false accusations of raping Mayella displayed elements of
realism due to racism and the time period (Nelle Harper Lee, 1960). Realist, dislike the liberals

Targeted Therapy
Targeted therapy in the treatment of cancer Student ID 39298 Class HAS 3 Word count
Targeted therapy, which first became available in the late 1990s, has had a significant impact on the
treatment of cancer. Currently, because of advancement in the field of technology, various types of
therapies are discovered to treat cancer. In this essay, targeted therapy is defined as a therapy in which
various drugs or other substances are used to recognize and kill the cancerous cells without harming
the normal cell (National cancer institute, 2014). Effectiveness refers to the degree in ... Show more

One of them is Gleevec (Imatinib mesylate), a tyrosine kinase inhibitor, was called a magical bullet .
This was the first targeted therapy drug used to treat cancer. It was invented in the late 1990 s, to treat
chronic myeloid leukemia and gastrointestinal stromal growth . Imatinib is tyrosine kinase inhibitors.
Tyrosine kinase is a protein that cells use to signal to each other to grow (Iqbal and Iqbal, 2014, p.1).
It works by preventing a tyrosine kinase enzyme and therefore inhibits growth factor induced receptor
phosphorylation and blocks the PDGF/PDGFR and P13 k/Akt pathway (Kheradmand, et.al.2016,
p.83). According to Richardson (2010, p.679), the drug Velcade was also known as Bortezomib is
useful in the treatment of multiple myelomas. The main goal of this drug is to lower the tumor growth
significantly. The American cancer society (2013, para.20) studies show Bortezomib is a proteasome
inhibitor . It works by blocking or slowing down the action of proteosome is to break down protein in
both healthy and cancerous cells. When proteosome activity is blocked, proteins in the cells
accumulate. This accumulation may cause cells to stop growing and multiplying, and cause them to
die and Sutent (Sunitinib) is a drug used to treat metastatic renal cell carcinoma. It is currently
approved as a second line treatment of MRCC. Sunitinib inhibits the vascular endothelial growth
factor receptor and stops the growth of tumors (Kolesar, et.al. 2008, pp.123 131). It is considered as a
multi targeted kinase inhibitor because it is a type of VEGF inhibitor, an angiogenesis inhibitor, and it
blocks an enzyme called tyrosine kinase. By doing all of this, it slows cancer growth and keeps tumors
from making their own blood vessels to help them grow and spread (American

Organizational Leadership Paper
Organizational Leadership
Description of Organizational Leadership
Organizational leadership is a twofold management style that works towards what is best for
employees/ people and what is greatest for the company or group as a whole at the same time. It is
also a mind set and a work ethic that empowers an individual in any role to lead from the top, middle,
or bottom of an organization (Technologies, 2017).
Key Factors During my research for this paper I learned that there are five key Factors of
organizational leadership which are, Worldview, Strength, communication, ethics and leadership.
Worldview is a complex image created from the different ways which people view the world. It is not
focused on identity, political stance, or religious viewpoints, although it does include these
(Technologies, 2017). This compiles everything a person thinks about the world, joining together the
real and the indefinable. Worldview can be described by attitudes, opinions, beliefs, and ideas that
influence people. Additionally, organizational leadership requires an understanding of the combined
worldview of the organization, which consists of the many various and sometimes conflicting
worldviews of the people within that organization (Technologies, 2017). A great leader is someone
who can see the strength in others and themselves and use those strengths to their advantage, and at
the same time work around weaknesses. Strength can be defined as consistent, near perfect
performance in an activity. A person should perform an activity at approximately a 95% rate of ...

Edna Ferber, Jewish American Feminist Essay
Edna Ferber s childhood and career influences many of her works. She was born in 1885 and died in
1968. Growing up, she was taunted for being Jewish. Her family moved a great deal, so she was able
to see a lot of the country. She eventually landed a job as a reporter, but faced a lot of criticism at the
workplace for being a woman. When asked about her role model, Edna Ferber said, My mother is of
the iron age when things were not handed to people on velvet pads of ease She had a zest for life and
the ability to impart it on others. Her belief in the eternity of life has a nourishing effect on her and all
those who come in contact with her. She is a wonderful woman (Shapiro 15). Because of this, she

Since she spent most of her life being taunted for being Jewish, this is to be expected. She frequently
shows Jews to be smart, attractive, and/or successful. She mentions the mistreatment of Jews in nearly
all of her novels. In Cimarron, the town Jew was running for mayor. But the wife of the other
candidate gave a speech about the race where she declared, ?A Jew for mayor of Osage! They?ll be
having an Indian mayor next. Mr. Wyatt?s folks are real Americans? (Ferber 218).
She writes about the mistreatment of Native Americans to a great extent in Cimarron. Sabra?s son was
particularly fond of them and when arguing with his mother?s family said, ?Indians don?t fight white
men anymore. They can?t. Their, uh, spirit is broken. they only fought in the first place because the
white men took their buff?loes away from them, that they lived on and ate and traded the skins and
that was all the had, and their land away from them? (Ferber 150). All of her novels are read as a
celebration of Americana, when she is actually writing about unfair treatment of the underdog, such as
the Jew, the Negro, the Indian, or the strength of the American woman, who would persevere and
survive alone even when the man in her life deserted her. Both themes are deeply rooted in her own
life? (Shapiro 9).
A more difficult theme to discern in Edna Ferber?s work is her view of love and

I Heard A Fly Buzz Essay
Have you ever lost someone in your life who was extremely important to you? Did you feel like once
the grieving was over the world continued to move on? In the poem [I heard a fly buzz] by Emily
Dickinson, Dickinson ponders the topic of death and the impact it has on its surroundings. The poem
takes place from beyond the grave in which the narrator is in a silent room interrupted by the buzzing
of a fly: I heard a fly buzz/when I died (Line 1). Many people are in the room mourning over the loss
of the dead person: The Eyes around had wrung them dry/Breaths were gathering firm (Lines 5 6). It
is assumed that God is taking her away to her afterlife: /when the King/be witnessed in the room.
Through point of view, imagery, and diction, Dickinson conveys the speaker s feelings towards death
and how people react to it, revealing the beliefs that people will never truly ... Show more content on

This allows the audience to recognize the feelings everyone has surrounding death and the concept
that people mourn over death for a short time then return back to their normal state of being. The
stages of dying transition from being in a silent room, people mourning around her, to the transition to
God taking her to her afterlife: /when the King/be witnessed in the room. The King is a symbol of God
who meets the dead person in order to take them to their afterlife.
Emily Dickinson utilizes Point of view, imagery and diction to convey a dead person s perspective of
dying. Point of view is deployed in order to understand the dead person s perspective. Imagery and
diction allows the audience to understand things like the stillness in the room, the crying of the
mourners and other pieces of the poem that achieve a solidified perspective from the dead person.
Dickinson writes I heard a Fly Buzz in order to challenge the perspective of a dead person and grasp a
firm sensation of

Biography of Elizabeth Blackburn
Elizabeth Blackburn s adolescence was similar to that of other girls growing up in the 1960s. She
followed current trends in fashion, listened to the Beatles, and had siblings whom she argued with but
also admired. Additionally, she was also a model student who consistently achieved high marks in
academics. Being the fifth of seven children, her siblings considered her the most self motivated of the
bunch; worrying less about pleasing others and more about independent success. Although Blackburn
s family background is primarily English, she was born in Hobart, Tasmania, three years after the
conclusion of World War II. Her father s family travelled to Austrailia from Northern England in 1882.

In doing so, she aimed to support her younger sisters, Margaret and Caroline, and blunt the toll of their
mother s illness (Brady; ch. 2). With all of the activity surround Elizabeth Blackburn, the presence of
gender inequality hadn t become fully apparent. Gendered comments such as What s a nice girl like
you doing in science? were common but Blackburn would initially ignore the question of why
biochemistry and gender were so frequently discussed as a joint topic (Brady; ch. 1). Yet at the same
time, finding a balance between when, where, and to what degree of femininity she should express
was always an unrelenting battle in the back of her mind. Of course, Blackburn attributed her lack of
initial awareness as a defense mechanism that she is later acquiesced halfheartedly. That is, she
shielded herself against conflict by not challenging norms to sustain a genderless state of mind (Brady;
ch. 2). Blackburn s first real research experience occurred during her fourth year as an undergraduate
at Melbourne under the supervision of Theo Dopheide and Barrie Davidson. Her role was
characterizing and purifying an enzyme used by a specific bacteria to better understand its
involvement in biosynthesis of phenylalanine. Blackburn first assayed for enzymatic activity using
bacteria cell extracts for purification. Then, she used electrophoresis to determine its mass. While her
results were initially

  • 2. The End Of Easy Everything Bernard C. Hilton GLBAFF 301 OL Bernard Hilton Robert Weiner February 20, 2016 UMS ID: 00762747 The End of Easy Everything One of the major issues in global affairs today consists of the supply of energy and other minerals and commodities. Michael Klare in The End of Easy Everything argues that the transformation from an effortless to a more resilient resource period will be expensive. Looking at the state of the supply of energy oil and natural gas today, I tend to agree with the findings as presented by Michael Klare. Klare explores contentious issues in which easily obtained supplies are terminating. Particularly, companies that deal in such resources must turn to the more difficult methods to extract sources of oil, natural gas, and various minerals. This has led to controversial methods such as deep water oil wells, hydrofracking for natural gas and other energy sources. Also, the acid fracking for copper: which some environmentalists maintain that these methods cause environmental damage and should not be permitted. Klare argues that discovery of a natural resource, for instance, oil, result to producers seeking and exploiting the most desirable, best quality and those closest to markets. Over time, these resources become scarce, of poorer quality, harder to extract and extend into the further away area from the market hence need for discovery of other means of obtaining the resource. These means may cause several problems, which may include; Changing to other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Plato s Dialogue, Republic, And The Claims Of The Modern... Philosophers are commonly viewed as useless and foolish in the modern world. Some people see philosophers of the past as people who attempted to understand important aspects of human nature, different ideologies, and social problems only to fail or not provide universal answers or solutions. However, there are others who see the importance of philosophers and how they have become to understand aspects of life and human nature before anyone else; Plato is a person who sides with the argument that philosophers play an important role in society. In Plato s dialogue, Republic, he attempts to discover justice and to convey the importance philosophers possess in ensuring a just society. The main argument that will be addressed in this essay is that philosophers are useful and are essential to guarantee a truly just city. In this paper I will use Plato s dialogue, Republic, and the claims mentioned throughout to support and build my agreement with Plato in arguing that having philosophers in rule ensures a just and honest society. The main question presented in, Republic is what is justice; both in the individual and in the city. These concepts of justice need to be addressed before determining that by having philosophers in rule, the city will be truly just. By providing Plato s definition of justice in the individual and the city it will be easier to understand why philosophers are the only people who understand justice and how to implement it into a society. Due to current wait lists, the health status of patients may decrease, influencing the type of treatment the patient will require once removed from the wait list. (6) Physicians believe Canadian patients are waiting 3 weeks longer to receive treatment following a specialist appointment than what is considered clinically acceptable. (6) Delays could also be due to further investigation or treatments that may be required prior to a specialist referral or specific health care services. (7) Wait times can be increased due to patient needs outside of the health care system. Only 11.1% of patients on the overall health care waiting lists are due to patient requests for delay of postponing of treatment. (6) How to Decrease MRI Wait Times Wait times can be decreased for MRI by increasing the provincial funding for health care systems by the government of Canada. (7) With an increase of funding, more scanners could be purchased, more technologists could be hired to run the scanners, and hospital booking systems may become more efficient. (4, 7) MRI scanners could also be operated for extended hours, allowing the number of scans each day to increase. • 8. How Hooke’s Law Has Led to Advancements in Respiratory... Everyday amazing things happen in the human body. One of the things that happens is the way we take a breath, how we are able to use that breath to sustain life. As a breath is taken in, there s many different physical and gas laws that take place to allow it to happen. With Hooke s law I will be discussing what it is, how it relates to respiratory care, and the medical advances it may include. Hooke s law was named after the man that discovered it in 1660. Robert Hooke was a 17th century physicist who discovered the relationship between the forces applied to a spring and elasticity. He published his book in 1678 that included the description of his work. Hooke s law states that any elastic body, like a spring is acted on by a unit of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once the limits have been reached, there is very little or no change that will occur in the response to any pressure change. This is figured out by using the equation of change in pressure and the change in volume. (Jardins, 2013) By using this equation it will help figure out how compliant the lungs are. This is critical in figuring lung dysfunctions and developing care for a patient. One of the major diseases that lowers the elastance of the lung and the most preventable is Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). COPD is categorized with an increase of airway resistance and the loss of lung elasticity. As a restriction in airflow develops, it leads to the hyperinflation of the alveoli. Some other diseases that are caused by low elastic conditions and is related to Hooke s law are traumatic chest injuries, pneumonia, pneumothorax, pleural effusion, acute respiratory distress syndrome, pulmonary edema, and interstitial lung disease. All of the disease and/or illness s cause the pressure volume curve to slide to the right very quickly and allows the lung elastic properties to decrease significantly. (Jardins, 2013) Hooke s law is directly related to the use of mechanical ventilation. If when a patient is placed on a mechanical ventilation, you can exceed the limitations cause by the lower elastance of the lung. A severe type of pneumothorax can occur in people who need mechanical assistance to breathe. The action of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This epoch is one of an increasingly polarized duality of Bourgeoisie and Proletariat; simply defined as an antagonism between the owners of capital and means of production, and the wage labors with no capital to speak of; A byproduct of Capitalism. Introduced in The Communist Manifesto as a war of sorts, violent and hostile, his description continues both in the Manifesto and in Capital, to delve deeper beneath the surface layer and evolves into a more complete evaluation of their complex codependent relationship. Marx depicts two camps at war, but shortly thereafter at a multifaceted association between them. They are not two sides of a civil war, but rather more intimately linked. The Bourgeoisie are described as leaders of an Industrial army (of Proletariat), indicating in some sense, the two being parts of a singular mechanism, one driving toward progress. The Proletariat masses of labourers, crowded into the factory, are organised like soldiers. As privates of the industrial army they are placed under the command of a perfect hierarchy of officers and sergeants. Not only are they slaves of the bourgeois class, and of the bourgeois State; they are daily and hourly enslaved by the machine, by the over looker, and, above all, by the individual bourgeois manufacturer himself. 479 There is definitely exploitation and oppression of the Proletariat by the Bourgeoisie, but they are both part of a working system, that of Capitalism. From the play within the play, to fairies causing mayhem, what is to be considered reality? The notion of falling asleep and dreaming is introduced over and over in the play, and leaves the audience wondering, is any of this real? Throughout this paper, I will attempt to explain the parallels between Shakespeare s work, A Midsummer Night s Dream, and the work of the Austrian neurologist, Sigmund Freud, whose most popular work is that of dreams and dream interpretations. The interpretation of dreams... is the royal road to a knowledge of the part the unconscious plays in the mental life (Freud). About three hundred years prior to Freud s work on the subconscious, we see that Shakespeare, as evidenced in A Midsummer Night s Dream, seemingly had a good grasp on the importance dreams played in our lives. The entire play seems like one long dream, and this causes the audience to question the reality of the play. The sense of time also lends to this notion, as it seems to be missing from the play. • 15. The Egyptian World Throughout the Egyptian world, embalmers worked to preserve the inner life force that was thought to reside within the body after death. It was common belief that by completing a seventy day process known as mummification, the Ka, this spiritual entity, would be able to live on long after the person died. Because of this, many people of the culture lived modest lives on Earth, saving immense amounts of money and gold for intricate objects that could serve practical and decorative purposes for their tombs. Every step of the preparations was handled with meticulous care as it was believed that life on Earth was limited, while life in the afterlife was eternal. This cultural ideology of eternal life after death is emulated by the statuary of the Egyptian world especially by the granite pair statue of Nefu and Khemet setju from Giza, which was found in 1931 on the Harvard University Museum of Fine Arts Expedition. During the Old Kingdom, artists worked to form statues that could accompany the body within the tomb, and if necessary, serve as alternative dwellings for the Ka.The pair statue, which was created between 2455 BC and 2350 BC in the Fifth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom, was likely created for this reason. Anthem Racism Essay Are all of the different types of national anthem protest in the NFL equally effective at protesting racial injustices in the US, or are they all just being disrespectful to the flag and the country? There are many ways players and teams are protesting the National Anthem in the NFL today. The Seattle Seahawks locked arms and stood, the Pittsburgh Steelers didn t even come onto the field, and the Arizona Cardinals were allowed to do whatever they felt was right. All of these teams claimed that they were demonstrating unity and standing up for racial equality. The most effective way was demonstrated by the Seahawks because they displayed their stance on racial injustices in the most professional way. And while it is clear that these protests have made an uproar in the NFL community, it is not clear on how effective all the different types of protests are. • 21. Turning Point In The Movie Dunkirk 2017 Box office blockbuster and critically acclaimed movie Dunkirk by director Christopher Nolan was regarded as one of the better war movies of the decade. Dunkirk is based off the events that occurred during World War II in a small western coastal city of France in June of 1940. After allied forces had been pushed back from Belgium through Germanies ferocious blitzkrieg attacks, the French and British armies were split apart. Over three hundred thousand men were left trapped in this small western corridor of France, the outlook looked bleak. As German troops quickly approached the forces trapped on the beach, many expected the panzer tanks to wipe out the sitting ducks. In the movie we notice the big ships of the Royal Navy having troubles entering the shallow harbor, a major problem for the evacuation. Only a few medic ships were able to make it to shore to help only a handful of the wounded soldiers. Just like the film some of the men saw this as there way out of the death trap. Veteran Garth Wright has a firsthand account of this occurring, They asked for volunteer stretcher bearers. Me and this other fellow picked up what was left of this lad, put him on a stretcher and took him out on the latched up Mole, Wright says of the pier like structure that the troops had built to take them out to rescuing ships. I took him on board to a makeshift ward they had and went to leave, but the skipper said I could stay on board. I could not believe my luck. Luckily for him he got to stay on the ship as the characters in the movie were not as lucky and had to hide underneath the makeshift pier. One thing I noticed in the movie is the pier looks professionally built and doesn t depict that the pier was actually built by soldiers while under fire, which is quite impressive. Male dingoes in most regions are virile throughout the entire year, but usually have a lower sperm production in the summer. During studies on dingoes from the Eastern Highlands and Central Australia living in captivity, no breeding cycle was noticed. The breeding was only regulated by the heat of the female dingoes. Not only was he able to come up with a solution to essentially try to move the economy out of recession and stop booms and busts, but his theory is still being used in todays day and age 70 years later. One big question that has been asked repeatedly about Keynes theory is why did he not believe in self adjustment of the economy. Keynes rejected the idea that market economies would automatically move towards full employment. He claimed to have found many flaws in the classical model as a whole (Davidson). Overall Keynes rejected the classical models claim that markets self adjust to solve economic problem because his insight was the opposite of the classical model. He was convinced that sometimes things don t sort themselves out. The economy would actually continue to go into a downward spiral and the usual dynamic of supply and demand would essentially break down. As far as policy prescriptions for a recession, Keynes stated that, If all else fails, the government can spend the money (Davidson). Not only did he think this, he also was convinced that they shouldn t raise taxes or try to balance the budget. • 41. Essay On Into Thin Air We are only as good as our equipment or at least that is how the saying goes, but what happens when we have the best equipment and our bodies no longer tolerate atmospheric conditions? Into Thin Air, written by Jon Krakauer, shows how individuals vary greatly in how well they can tolerate changes in pressure, temperature or oxygen content of the air. This allows them to be one with themselves by bounding with survival, while simultaneously displaying how slowly environmental changes set in, but how rapidly the effects take a toll on the body. Despite breaking down the climb into camps the climb s structure was one that was also hard to tackle. There was the base camp, camp one, camp two, camp three and camp four. Additionally, Krakauer mentions that other members of the team were having severe headaches and gastrointestinal problems. However, Hall is confident in the acclimatizing process, but is also constantly studying the data, and schedules to be sure that they do not encounter anything that they are not prepared for. Not Generally Known or Readily Ascertainable C A court is likely to find that Ultra s customer database meets the not generally known or readily ascertainable element. R In determining whether information is not generally known or readily ascertainable, courts consider the following two Restatement factors: the extent to which the information is known outside of the business and the ease or difficulty with which the information could be properly acquired or duplicated by others. Al Minor, 117 Ohio St. 3d at 61 (citing Plain Dealer, 80 Ohio St. 3d at 524 25). To determine whether the information is not generally known or readily ascertainable is if a trade secret owner collected and/or compiled the information from a variety of sources, thus this may support a finding that the information is not generally known or readily ascertainable. Salemi, 145 Ohio St. 3d at ¶29. To determine whether a customer list is not generally known, it ordinarily includes not only the name of a business or person but also information that is not generally available to the public, such as the name of a contact person, a non public telephone or cell phone number, an email address, and other data known only because of the relationship with the client. Salemi, 2014 Ohio 3914 at ¶18 (citing Columbus Bookkeeping, 2011 Ohio App. LEXIS 5655). These doctrines exhibit sagacious perceptions about war, foreign affairs and domestic relations. The fundamental principles of protocol in which we rely upon aren t always apprehensive (Karle, Warren, 2003). By interpreting the data one could fathom these ideas. The assessment of these faculties wield noteworthy dominance about the concepts of international affairs. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Realism has been very effective in helping scholars understand the international system through the concepts of altruism, survival, and self help. Realists believed that there are no codes of conduct in which all states may guide their own actions. They believed that a state must be cognizant of the events of the states evolved and that one must use a pragmatic approach to solve imminent issues. They desired states to have supreme power over themselves in order to actively engage in the use and expansion of military preeminence. George Evans and Jeffrey Newnham (Graham Evans and Newnham, 1998) composed in their dictionary, that his fundamental outlying attainment of authority is appropriate, lucid, and is a highly anticipated ambition of foreign policy. Realism is branded a pessimistic view in that they argue that states will amass alliances to guarantee equal power giving no state dictatorship (Rosenberg, Justin, 1990). The moral outlook of Realists was established by parodies subsequently identifying their morality as a denunciation of polite mannerisms in fictional stories; for example, Harper Lee s novel, To Kill a Mockingbird . The highlights of the trial of this book in the scene when Robinson was on trial for false accusations of raping Mayella displayed elements of realism due to racism and the time period (Nelle Harper Lee, 1960). This was the first targeted therapy drug used to treat cancer. It was invented in the late 1990 s, to treat chronic myeloid leukemia and gastrointestinal stromal growth . Imatinib is tyrosine kinase inhibitors. Tyrosine kinase is a protein that cells use to signal to each other to grow (Iqbal and Iqbal, 2014, p.1). It works by preventing a tyrosine kinase enzyme and therefore inhibits growth factor induced receptor phosphorylation and blocks the PDGF/PDGFR and P13 k/Akt pathway (Kheradmand, et.al.2016, p.83). According to Richardson (2010, p.679), the drug Velcade was also known as Bortezomib is useful in the treatment of multiple myelomas. The main goal of this drug is to lower the tumor growth significantly. The American cancer society (2013, para.20) studies show Bortezomib is a proteasome inhibitor . It works by blocking or slowing down the action of proteosome is to break down protein in both healthy and cancerous cells. When proteosome activity is blocked, proteins in the cells accumulate. This accumulation may cause cells to stop growing and multiplying, and cause them to die and Sutent (Sunitinib) is a drug used to treat metastatic renal cell carcinoma. It is currently approved as a second line treatment of MRCC. Sunitinib inhibits the vascular endothelial growth factor receptor and stops the growth of tumors (Kolesar, et.al. 2008, pp.123 131). It is considered as a multi targeted kinase inhibitor because it is a type of VEGF inhibitor, an angiogenesis inhibitor, and it blocks an enzyme called tyrosine kinase. By doing all of this, it slows cancer growth and keeps tumors from making their own blood vessels to help them grow and spread (American ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Organizational Leadership Paper Organizational Leadership Description of Organizational Leadership Organizational leadership is a twofold management style that works towards what is best for employees/ people and what is greatest for the company or group as a whole at the same time. It is also a mind set and a work ethic that empowers an individual in any role to lead from the top, middle, or bottom of an organization (Technologies, 2017). Key Factors During my research for this paper I learned that there are five key Factors of organizational leadership which are, Worldview, Strength, communication, ethics and leadership. Worldview is a complex image created from the different ways which people view the world. It is not focused on identity, political stance, or religious viewpoints, although it does include these (Technologies, 2017). This compiles everything a person thinks about the world, joining together the real and the indefinable. Worldview can be described by attitudes, opinions, beliefs, and ideas that influence people. Additionally, organizational leadership requires an understanding of the combined worldview of the organization, which consists of the many various and sometimes conflicting worldviews of the people within that organization (Technologies, 2017). A great leader is someone who can see the strength in others and themselves and use those strengths to their advantage, and at the same time work around weaknesses. Strength can be defined as consistent, near perfect performance in an activity. A person should perform an activity at approximately a 95% rate of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 47. Edna Ferber, Jewish American Feminist Essay Edna Ferber s childhood and career influences many of her works. She was born in 1885 and died in 1968. Growing up, she was taunted for being Jewish. Her family moved a great deal, so she was able to see a lot of the country. She eventually landed a job as a reporter, but faced a lot of criticism at the workplace for being a woman. When asked about her role model, Edna Ferber said, My mother is of the iron age when things were not handed to people on velvet pads of ease She had a zest for life and the ability to impart it on others. She frequently shows Jews to be smart, attractive, and/or successful. She mentions the mistreatment of Jews in nearly all of her novels. In Cimarron, the town Jew was running for mayor. But the wife of the other candidate gave a speech about the race where she declared, ?A Jew for mayor of Osage! They?ll be having an Indian mayor next. Mr. Wyatt?s folks are real Americans? (Ferber 218). She writes about the mistreatment of Native Americans to a great extent in Cimarron. Sabra?s son was particularly fond of them and when arguing with his mother?s family said, ?Indians don?t fight white men anymore. They can?t. Their, uh, spirit is broken. they only fought in the first place because the white men took their buff?loes away from them, that they lived on and ate and traded the skins and that was all the had, and their land away from them? (Ferber 150). All of her novels are read as a celebration of Americana, when she is actually writing about unfair treatment of the underdog, such as the Jew, the Negro, the Indian, or the strength of the American woman, who would persevere and survive alone even when the man in her life deserted her. Both themes are deeply rooted in her own life? (Shapiro 9). A more difficult theme to discern in Edna Ferber?s work is her view of love and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the poem [I heard a fly buzz] by Emily Dickinson, Dickinson ponders the topic of death and the impact it has on its surroundings. The poem takes place from beyond the grave in which the narrator is in a silent room interrupted by the buzzing of a fly: I heard a fly buzz/when I died (Line 1). Many people are in the room mourning over the loss of the dead person: The Eyes around had wrung them dry/Breaths were gathering firm (Lines 5 6). It is assumed that God is taking her away to her afterlife: /when the King/be witnessed in the room. She followed current trends in fashion, listened to the Beatles, and had siblings whom she argued with but also admired. Additionally, she was also a model student who consistently achieved high marks in academics. Being the fifth of seven children, her siblings considered her the most self motivated of the bunch; worrying less about pleasing others and more about independent success. In doing so, she aimed to support her younger sisters, Margaret and Caroline, and blunt the toll of their mother s illness (Brady; ch. 2). With all of the activity surround Elizabeth Blackburn, the presence of gender inequality hadn t become fully apparent. Gendered comments such as What s a nice girl like you doing in science? were common but Blackburn would initially ignore the question of why biochemistry and gender were so frequently discussed as a joint topic (Brady; ch. 1). Yet at the same time, finding a balance between when, where, and to what degree of femininity she should express was always an unrelenting battle in the back of her mind. Of course, Blackburn attributed her lack of initial awareness as a defense mechanism that she is later acquiesced halfheartedly. That is, she shielded herself against conflict by not challenging norms to sustain a genderless state of mind (Brady; ch. 2). Blackburn s first real research experience occurred during her fourth year as an undergraduate at Melbourne under the supervision of Theo Dopheide and Barrie Davidson. Her role was characterizing and purifying an enzyme used by a specific bacteria to better understand its involvement in biosynthesis of phenylalanine. Blackburn first assayed for enzymatic activity using bacteria cell extracts for purification. Then, she used electrophoresis to determine its mass. While her results were initially ...
