How Racing Share The Same Fundamentals Of Racing
Regardless of if you enjoy racing or not, you likely know what either Nascar or Formula One is. In the
United States of America, Nascar is by far the most popular form of racing. This popularity allows the
sport to have its 4.5 billion [dollar] television contract that began in 2007 (Odland). Meanwhile in the
rest of the world, Formula One is the most popular. Evidently, Formula One generates an immense
amount of wealth as well. Red Bull, a sponsor in Formula One, is thought to have generated an
estimated $283 million in brand exposure in just one season alone(Smith). Due to the fact that they are
both forms of racing, a multitude of people group these two very different genres of racing together
and claim that they are basically the same. While there are some central similarities, these are two
abundantly different forms of racing. The most important and basic similarity is that both forms of
racing share the same fundamentals of racing. The essential differences between the two include the
cars that are driven as well as the tracks used for races. Both Nascar and Formula One share the same
fundamentals of racing. The ultimate goal is to win every race that you possibly can. This is done by
finishing before, often in front of, everyone else. In each form of racing, drivers take what are called
pit stops. This is when a driver pulls into a designated area where his/her team is located. Then that
teams provides car adjustments and fuel. These pit stops are critical

The Real Monster In Mel Brooks Young Frankenstein
Mary Shelley is noted as a brilliant novelist for writing the unorthodox tale called Frankenstein at only
18, creating one of the earliest examples of science fiction. This spark of a new genre inspired
countless pieces in the Gothic Romantic era of literature; many of these stories are cliche and typically
featuring a tall, green, bolts in the neck giant named Frankenstein. By now, we know that this is false
and that the real monster was a grotesque man formed by a scientist named Victor Frankenstein.
However, there are a few pieces that do capture the beauty of the original novel. The American horror
comedy Young Frankenstein is one of them. Written and directed by Mel Brooks, the film is
drastically different, yet, similar to the book by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The difference is what they discover and learn on their adventures, and how they are welcomed upon
their returns. Victor s monster was isolated most of the time, observing humans and learning how to
speak, and when he overstepped his boundaries he was shut out. Both monsters encounter an old blind
man and a child in their journeys. Victor s monster was punished for encountering both of them, but
Frederick s creature was welcomed by the old blind man, who was praying for a visitor to talk to and
was showed innocent kindness by the little girl. Frederick was also actively seeking out his lost
monster and lured him back to his laboratory, whereas Victor let his monster run loose, and did not see
him again for two years. Upon returning, Victor s monster is now fluent in English, yet Victor
continues to curse him. Frederick s monster is still mute and terrified of him, but Frederick does not
give up. He insists that Love is the only thing that will save him, and holds him close while promising
that he will always look after

Personal Statement For Secondary School Certificate Essay
Steve Jobs once said that the only way to do great work is to love what you do and you must have the
courage to follow your heart and intuition. All my life I have been driven by this quote in trying to
follow my dreams. Some people are afraid of dreaming or do nothing but dream. But few dream, and
work to make their dreams true. I consider myself in the second category.
Raised in a strong and secure family, I have been fortunate to have parents who have instilled in me
good values and principles, where education has always been given the top priority. I achieved GPA
4.63 out of 5.00 in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and GPA 4.60 out of 5.00 in Higher Secondary
Certificate (HSC) examination. I got Scholarships for excellent result in both primary school
certificate (class 5) and junior school certificate (class 8). I finally got myself admitted in the four
years Bachelor Degree programme in Geography and Environment at University of Dhaka, the most
renowned institution in Bangladesh. I obtained CGPA 3.25 out of 4 at my bachelor degree.
I am always fascinated by the geo visualization and communication of spatial technologies. During
my undergraduate level in Geography and Environment, I was taught a variety of courses, such as
Biogeography, Climatology, Geomorphology, Environmental Chemistry, Environmental Ecology, and
Environmental Management, Land use Planning Development, Urban Agricultural Geography,

Theory, An Optimal Executive Compensation Scheme Essay
In theory, an optimal executive compensation scheme overcomes the principal agent problem by
aligning the interests of executives and shareholders, and subsequently providing executives an
incentive to maximise shareholder value. Furthermore, an executive compensation scheme must be
sufficient to attract and retain the appropriate executive. According to Bognanno (2014), restricted
stocks and stock options are the most common forms of equity based compensation schemes, with
stock options accounting for almost half of US CEO compensation in 2000. Since economic agents
respond to incentives, the intuition behind equity based compensation schemes is that providing
executives with a form of compensation that is tied with the performance of the company, will provide
an incentive for the executive to maximise shareholder value. For instance, assume an executive is
provided with a stock option of 100 stocks with a strike price of $10, the executive will only receive a
payoff if the stock price is above $10 (see Figure 1). If the stock price is above the strike price, the
executive is able to exercise the option by purchasing the stock at $10 and selling the stock on the spot
market. Since the executive has an incentive to maximise his or her payoff, the executive s interests
are in theory, aligned with shareholders and the executive is expected undertake activities which
maximises shareholder value.
DiPrete et al. (2010) suggest that executive compensation practices cannot be

The Assassination Of Lauryn Hill
I was born on February 11, 1999, during the year we would enter the new millennium, and everyone
panicked about the Y2K bug. While some prepared to party away the 20th Century, and others drained
away their savings to hunker out the Y2K , Bill Clinton was acquitted by the Senate in his
impeachment trial (February 12th), Eminem released his first major record album The Slim Shady LP
(February 23rd), and My Heart Will Go On by Lauryn Hill wins a Grammy (February 24th). Other
events at this time included Kurdish rebels taking over embassies and holding hostages across Europe

Examples Of Archetype In Neverwhere By Neil Gaiman
Neverwhere and the Hero s Journey Archetype Structure From the Richard Mayhew s humble
beginnings in the ordinary world to his adventure that takes place in London Below Neverwhere, by
Neil Gaiman, fits into the Hero s Journey archetype. Although there are many factors that show
correlation between Neverwhere and the Hero s Journey archetype, the major factors include the
contrast between the ordinary and special worlds, the call to adventure, and the ordeal. To begin with,
the setting of Neverwhere plays one of the most important roles in the novel. London Above, the
ordinary world, is the city in which Richard Mayhew, the protagonist of the story, originates from. On
the other hand, London Below, the special world, is where the action and

Multi Dynamic Range Of Video Game Essay
2016 Televisions
Of the latest generation in home television sets, High Dynamic Range (HDR) is the newest feature on
4K televisions. The LG B6 and the Samsung KS8000 televisions are two 4K television sets offered in
a 55 size that has differences that will appeal to either movie watchers or video game players based on
the latest HDR technology, picture quality, and input interaction.
One of the main things the 2016 television will catch consumers eyes is the most recent marketing
technology buzzwords. In the past, there has been 3D, which was poorly executed in recreating the
theater experience. Recently there has been UHD and 4K stamped on the boxes of televisions that
offer resolutions surpassing the standard 1080p HD resolution. For 2016 models, multiple
manufacturers have adopted a new technology format for High Dynamic Range (HDR), used to
display a wider color gamut. In standard terms, think of the bright highlights that you see from
outdoor lighting during sunsets shining on the crest of wakes in a river or ocean waves crashing onto a
wet sandy beach, paired with very dark shadows. HDR allows the natural range of lighting to be
shown on the 2016 model TVs. While HDR formatted content is required to make use of the new
hardware, streaming services such as Amazon Video, Netflix, and even Walmart s Vudu offers select
content with a HDR label. This new format could be compared to when surround sound became

Effects Of Glass Ceiling On The Workplace
As we approach the millennium, the overall framework of the workforce has been steadily flourishing.
In this era, several individuals would like to think that the promotional and also hiring processes in the
workplace have become fair and also impartial. However, there still exist several impediments for few
individuals. The glass ceiling is a subtle framework that most organizations and employers have
utilized in legally discriminating particular groups of people. Although this action is not apparently
several women and also minorities have encountered challenges in advancing to higher positions in
their careers due to the concept of the glass ceiling (Horn, and Schaffner, 2003).
Also, several historical customs have continued to hinder the success of female individuals in various
societies. Due to these customs, the glass ceiling has been created above females in their place of
work. This is a serious impediment that exists within businesses that have prevented highly qualified
and learned women and people from minority groups from reaching their potential in leadership
positions in various corporations.

Certainty about the specific investments in trust The money placed in an investment trust is used to
capitalize a fixed portfolio. Unlike mutual funds or hedge funds, for some investors, this is a key
advantage because they are given the ability to always know what they own. Disadvantages: 1.
Opportunity cost This means that by putting money in unit trust, you lost the opportunity to use it
elsewhere. Of course there is no guarantee that putting the money elsewhere will yield better returns.
In the same way, putting money in unit trust prevents you from investing it elsewhere, such as,

are not free. There are fees and charges payable by the unit holders to the unit trust schemes. Granted
these fees are almost negligible compared to the professional expertise received by the investors, it is

Americans did indeed go to war with the Germans, Germany in general, and it was very
heartbreaking. I think that the majority of the Germans didn t even want a war to go on against the
United States. Most Americans took the issues and complications, creating anger and hatred towards
the Germans, creating rumors about them who were actually innocent. Both Germans, Arabs and
Islams gone through discrimination after the tragedy. Many Americans who lost their loved ones grew
hatred towards the Germans, Arabs, or Islams. Even though they were innocent, no one seemed to

What can become of a border patrol personnel who fails to raise his hands? Other than the security of
the border patrol, the use of drones over domestic airspace has led to loss of privacy. Nobody can be
so sure about their privacy in their own property because they can t be sure nobody is watching them.
Drones can now fly for at least 10, 000 hours and so far, at least 4, 865 undocumented immigrants and
238 drug smugglers have been apprehended since the homeland security initiated the use of aerial
reconnaissance in border patrol (Booth, 2011). Considering that the boots on the ground in 2011
apprehended a massive 327, 577 illegal immigrants in southwestern border, if the number of illegal
immigrants apprehended using the drones is anything to go by, then it is not worth giving a shot at.
Sincerely speaking, these are just fraction arrests. The number of those arrested aside, the costs of
operating the drones are also so high compared to costs related to boots on the ground . A drone s hour

Working Memory Model Essay
Baddeley and Hitch (1974) criticised the multi store model for being a very simplistic view of
memory. They saw short term memory as a store that had many individual sections inside it. This was
supported by patient KF who had epilepsy, the doctor wanted to try and remedy this by removing his
hippocampus. This surgery was done, however instead of fixing his epilepsy, it damaged his short
term memory, yet he still had his long term memory intact. In the multi store model it states that in
order to have long term memory, one needs to have gone through the several stores, such as the
sensory memory store, the short term memory and then by adding meaning and rehearsal, into the
long term memory store. Seen as patient KF could still encode long ... Show more content on

Another positive is the fact that it can be applied, or rather generalised to real life. For example in job
interviews when we talk, or when people text and drive, and it can cause us to crash. Finally another
strength of the working memory model is that is provides us an explanation for the brain damaged
patients KF and SC. As it shows us logical evidence that there is other stores in memory, rather than
the oversimplified view of the multi store model. However, it does have its weakness, one such
weakness is its only address short term memory, not long term memory, and therefore it is not a
detailed model of memory, as it doesn t address long term memory. Another weakness is the circular
argument, as it makes it difficult to find fault with the working memory mode. The circular argument
is that if two task cannot be done together, then it s assumed that tis is because both of which are
overloading on of the components in the working model. If two tasks can be done together, it s
assumed they are from different components of the working model, meaning the model can explain
any results. Finally another weakness is the fact that the working memory model has been conducted
in laboratories. Therefore it means that it may not be able to generalise these result into everyday

Jennifer Kahn s Stripped For Parts By Jennifer Kahn
What happens to our organs once we die? For many people nothing will happen, they will be buried
with all their organs intact and decomposing. However, for some, the end of their life will not be the
end of their organs. After death their organs will be harvested and used in transplants to save lives. But
what do we know about what happens to these individuals who have chosen to have their organs
donated? This is the topic of Jennifer Kahn s essay, titled Stripped for Parts . In her essay Kahn goes
behind the scenes to discover the somewhat morbid and strange process of removing another s organs.
Within this paper I will be discussing Kahn s purpose for writing her essay, what makes the essay
process writing, and why it is a multimodal essay. Kahn s purpose in writing this essay is to explore
the ill mentioned side of organ transplants, organ removal. In the preface to the essay, Kahn talks a
little of what drove her to write the essay, which she reveals to be an assignment to observe and write
on the process of organ transplants. The article was supposed to praise how far we have come in the
field of medicine in the last few centuries. Instead Kahn found the whole process to be strangely
primitive in comparison to other modern, more streamlined procedures. To convince her audience of
such a hard to sell point Kahn made sure to utilize the three rhetorical appeals, ethos, pathos, and
logos. Kahn uses ethos (credibility) quite often, as she utilizes quotes by multiple

The Importance Of Media In The Media
Media is everywhere around the world, it surrounds us even when sometimes we don t even notice it.
It can appear from newspapers to news, or as well physically and throughout electronic devices such
as cell phones. We consider it as a tool to make time fly ahead or to spectate what is going on with
other people s lives. However, we may encounter certain factors that may not appeal to us. We may
see postings or news about tragic events that happen around the world and surprisingly, sometimes we
don t even bother to care, due to the fact that it wasn t us in that situation. There are a great number of

An example that can relate to this song is when 9/11 happened, due to terrorists. An unexpected tragic
event that no one thought would happen that took many lives from loved ones to close ones. In
addition, Billie Joe Armstrong s pathos has an outstanding true meaning based from the lyrics, A new
day dawning, comes without warning... . One can interpret based on this factor that every day is a new
opportunity for something tragic to happen. This here is the message that Billie Joe Armstrong is
trying to convey to us all. He wants us to realize that all though we live happy at times, there is always
something dark waiting to approach at any time with unpredictable outcome. A second example based
on this observation can be the terror attack that happened recently on Friday when a bombing occurred
in a London train underground that injured 30 passengers on board. And furthermore, a second man
was arrested a couple days later due to the fact that he too was also affiliated with the incident as well
according to officers. In addition to the topic, Billie Joe Armstrong states about love and peace and
how it s impossible for such thing like that to occur, What good is love and peace on earth? When it s
exclusive? , as if he were trying to say that it would have to take a miracle for the world to resolve
from this. Many people have experienced moments when others are made fun of or times when people
fight for various reasons such as an argument.

It may seem unlikely that someone who viewed himself as an outsider would leave a legacy as a
postmodern poet, yet Robert Hayden did just that in his poem, Those Winter Sundays. The poet
utilizes his own alienation as a tool to reveal an insider s view on the issues of his time.
Robert Hayden was born in a poor suburb outside Detroit on August 4, 1913. His name at birth was
Asa Bundy Sheffey. He was raised, however, as Robert Hayden, the name given by his foster parents.
Hayden s foster parents happened to live across the street from where Hayden was born. Hayden did
not discover the story until later in life. Realizing this story helped shape his life as a poet. He
established a lasting legacy of both postmodernism and African American achievement. At the same
time, his poetry helped Robert Hayden discover who he was as a person.
Hayden was extremely nearsighted as a child. He abandoned the notion of sports in favor of reading,
eventually developing a deep seated love of reading that turned into a career as a poet and a legacy of
many notable works. Hayden is sometimes compared to Robert Frost in terms of breakout hits. His
first volumes did extremely well in the United Kingdom upon their release. (Glaysher 2) It is through
his poems that Hayden [s]ubtly characterizes modern society while portraying its victims. (Fetrow 1)
He deals with controversial issues presented throughout his African American heritage that are
postmodern in style. Hayden is able to utilize

Coffee Is The Best Cup Of Coffee
Lately, coffee has been in all of its glory. Being more popular than ever, with pumpkin spice lattes,
morning coffee runs, and debates on which shop offers the best cup of coffee. No one ever seems to be
interested in how coffee was discovered, who discovered it, who invented coffee machines, and how
those were invented. There is no limit to the history behind all of these questions. Coffee has been
around for centuries, and has changed history to say the least. The first coffee plants are said to have
come from the Horn of Africa on the shores of the Red Sea. Originally, coffee beans were not used as
a beverage, but eaten. East African tribes would grind the coffee cherries together and mix it with
animal fat, and then the paste would be rolled into little balls. The mixture was said to give warriors
much needed energy for battle (A Brief History). The plants that the beans grow on actually resemble
tiny Christmas trees. Originally the beans are a red color, and actually have a floral scent. The beans
turn their known brown black color when they are roasted, and the darker the color determines how
long they have been roasted. During the 11th century in Ethiopia, goat herder Kaldi noticed his goats
became so active, not wanting to sleep at night, all from the consumption of these berries (The History
of Coffee). Kaldi then took them to his wife, who said they are heaven sent, and must be taken to the
monks. At the monastery, the abot chucked them into the fire claiming

The Battle Between Gun Control and Gun Rights Essay
The debate over the right to bear arms according to the Second Amendment has been a hotly contested
issue for many years in American history. The matter has been one of the most controversial issues in
the second half of the twentieth century and into the twenty first; disputed between politicians on the
liberal and conservative side along with issues such as abortion, capital punishment, and gay marriage.
The Supreme Court has officially defined the controversial Second Amendment by stating that states
have the right to maintain a militia separate from a federally controlled army (Gale Encyclopedia, pg.
155 162). However, Courts have consistently held that the state and federal governments may lawfully

Const., amend. II). There have been two main arguments that have stemmed from the different
interpretations of the national document. One argument supported that the Second Amendment
supported an individual or personal right to have firearms, in particular for self defense, separate and
apart from citizen service in government militia. The second argument was that the amendment
created a citizen right of revolution or insurrection , meaning that citizens had a right to engage in
armed revolt against their government if they felt that the government was behaving in an unjust
manner (Spitzer, The Right to Bear Arms). Both of these views have been at the heart of the
controversy of gun control. Some could say that it really depends on whom you talk to of how the
Second Amendment applies to the current battle over gun control in today s society. For example, gun
rights advocates like the NRA (National Rifle Association) interpret the Amendment to ensure the
right of individuals to possess and carry firearms (A Right to Bear Arms?, UMKC School of Law).
Gun control advocates such as the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence state that the term militia
is used elsewhere in the Constitution, and it always refers to the state organized militia (Tushnet,
Interpreting). They believe that the Second Amendment is specifically slated towards the state
organized militia. The Amendment means that the Congress cannot disarm the

Rosaline Should Be Pardoned In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Rosaline should be pardoned. All she did was decide to become a nun. ...But beauty starved with her
severity... (1,1) This is Romeo saying that he s upset because he could never marry her. Another reason
for a pardon is that Romeo wasn t really in love. The moment Benvolio says to look at other ladies,
Romeo doesn t completely dismiss the idea as much as just find excuses. By giving liberty to thine
eyes: Examine other beauties. (1,1) Benvolio is telling Romeo to go look at other girls, which Romeo
does end up doing. In conclusion, all Rosaline did was become a nun, it s not her fault that Romeo fell
in love with Juliet.
Benvolio should also be pardoned. Benvolio tried to help his relatives. At thy good heart s oppression.

Jack The Ripper Legacy Essay
Jack the Ripper was a legacy of sorts, he killed at least 5 women without being caught in his lifetime.
His murders were so famous that people today still make theories of who he was and why he did it.
We may not know who he is, but we do know what he did and what he left behind. Jack the Ripper
tortured and killed women, led a life of mystery, and still gets credit for it today.
In London on August 31 through November 9, 1888 five prostitutes were murdered. These murders
were done at the hand of Jack the Ripper, the very well known, unknown, murderer in Whitechapel.
The press attributed around 11 murders to Jack, but only five were for sure done by him. The women
he killed were: Mary Ann Nichols, Annie Chapman, Elizabeth Stride, Catherine ... Show more content

Many people were accused, but no one has actually uncovered his true identity. His original nickname,
before Jack the Ripper , was the Whitechapel Murderer (Jack the Ripper). The Ripper was thought to
be a doctor or a butcher because of his choice of weapons and the way he killed his victims. Dr.
William Withey Gull was pinned for the murders, but at the time was at a ripe age of 71 and in poor
health, so he obviously was not the killer (10 Things You Probably Don t Know About Jack the
Ripper). A man named Thomas Cutbush was a suspect because he had stabbed women in the buttocks,
but had never actually killed anyone (10 Things You Don t Know About Jack the Ripper). Then, of all
people, the prince was accused of the murderous actions, when he was not even in London at the time
of the attacks (10 Things You Probably Don t Know About Jack the Ripper). In 1993, a new suspect
rose and it was an American doctor named Francis Tumblety, but he was only visiting Whitechapel for
a short amount of time (10 Things You Probably Don t Know About Jack the Ripper). 126 years later,
DNA found on a piece of clothing from one of the victims supposedly proves that Aaron Kosminski, a

The frontal lobes are described as the brain s orchestra leader (Martin, 1998, p. 190), which would
place them at the reins of controlling effective behaviour. Damage to the frontal lobes encompasses a
wide range of symptoms including deficits in executive functioning, changes in personality, emotional
expression and social interaction. This includes apathy and lack of spontaneity, inability to plan and
modify the sequencing of behaviour and inappropriate behaviour.
2 The Structure and Functional Anatomy of the Frontal Lobes
===========================================================
In order to understand the complex nature of the frontal lobes, a synopsis of the anatomy of the
relevant parts of the brain is pertinent.
Each hemisphere of the brain is divided into four geographical areas: the frontal lobe, parietal lobe,
temporal lobe and occipital lobe. This division is not based on functionality, but is an aesthetic one.
The frontal lobe is the largest of these geographic areas with the Rolandic fissure (Central sulcus) and
the Silvian fissure (Lateral sulcus) and the Corpus Callosum creating the boundaries.
The frontal lobe is comprised of three functionally specific areas on the surface area of the cerebral
cortex: the precentral cortex or primary motor cortex (Brodmann s area 4), the premotor cortex
(Brodmann s area 6) and the prefrontal

Essay on Drug Enforcement Administration
What I Know About the Drug Enforcement Administration The Drug Enforcement Administration
(DEA) works to lessen and eliminate the use, transportation, and sale of drugs in the United States.
They are the only government organized organization with the purpose of controlling drug traffic. The
Drug Enforcement Administration seems to be most known for their role in stopping drug
transportation across borders by use of DEA officers, police trained dogs, and other tools. To my
knowledge the DEA may have many other roles, possibly including the elimination of drug
manufacturing throughout the world, tracking down and stopping major drug trafficking organizations
within the United States border, US territories, and minor outlying islands. I ... Show more content on

During the late seventies and early 80 s, the Drug Enforcement Administration tightened drug controls
and expanded its programs.
The eighties saw the introduction of new technology into the DEA, such as CAT (real time vehicle
tracking system) and newly available cordless phones. Francis M. Mullen Junior was the acting
administrator from 1981 to 1985. In 1982, the Drug Enforcement Administration officially joined
forces with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Many drug investigations were successful
during this time period, including one bust resulting in the seizure of over 1600lbs of cocaine.
In 1984 and amendment to the Controlled Substances Act was passed. The amendment provided
additional authority for the denial or revocation of a practitioner controlled substance registration
based on a demonstration that such registration was contrary to the public interest as described by the
Drug Enforcement Administration history on www.dea.gov. In 1986, the DEA began one of its most
successful programs, the Drug Free Workplace program. By 1988, over 2,000 drug tests were
conducted (including 1,600 random tests) as part of the drug free workplace program. During the late
1980s and early 1990 s, Americans became more aware of drug use and trafficking, however abuse of
the drugs increased significantly. President George H.W. Bush focused national efforts on a plan to cut
both the supply and demand of illegal drugs.

The Trafficking And Forms Of Human Trafficking Essay
2.1.2 The concept of Human Trafficking and forms of Human Trafficking
Human trafficking is a complex phenomenon hence difficult to conceptualize (Maclnnis, 2012).
Scholars, nations and international organizations have individually or collectively tried to define
human trafficking and, not surprisingly, they disagree with one another. United States (US) for
instance does not consider organ trade as human trafficking whereas the United Nations (UN) and
Canada do (United States Department of State 2010; United Nations 2012). According to Malawi
Human Trafficking Act (2015), trafficking in persons means: recruiting, transportation, transferring,
harbouring, receiving or obtaining a person within or outside the territory of Malawi through the use
of threat or use of force or coercion, abduction, fraud or deception or abuse of power or position,
vulnerability, legal processes or giving or receiving payments to obtain consent of a person having
control of the trafficked person for the purpose of exploitation of the person.
The United Nations under the Palermo Protocol tried to make an internationally agreed definition
which talked about three key elements relating to intent and consent as follows:
Trafficking in persons shall mean the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of
persons, by means of threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of
deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the

Figurative Language In Macbeth
Marjorie Garber immediately evokes her insight of Shakespeare s work Macbeth in the book
Shakespeare After All. The first couple of paragraphs interprets the meaning of the witches dramatic
role in this creative work. In addition, fate was symbolized in a human and nonhuman form a
persuasive psychological reality of their own , according to Gaber. She also strongly suggests that
equivocation is the running theme throughout the play. Garber s idea that Shakespeare s had the ability
to bring forth ambiguity while connecting the plot emulating real events during Queen Elizabeth and

Julius Caesar Propaganda
I have a dream! Four score and seven years ago. We shall never surrender! These have been the most
famous lines ever uttered by a person in history. No one can doubt that. In a time of turmoil, hatred,
fear, and hope, these speakers have come forth to create produce reverence in their foes. The Tragedy
of Julius Caesar, written by William Shakespeare, is a fantastic example of the power of language and
speech in front of the citizens who believe and trust their leaders. Language is power, and the ability to
use language and speech is the power needed to rule an empire. Although sometimes used for hate,
language and speech, especially in Julius Caesar, is a potent tool and weapon used to fight for beliefs
and ideas, to spread propaganda, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Shakespeare thought about the important use of propaganda as a political weapon for many characters,
most importantly Antony and Murellus. As Caesar triumphs home from his defeat over Pompey, the
audience can see Murellus clearly upset, stating, Wherefore rejoice? What conquest brings he home? |
What tributaries follow him to Rome | To grace in captive bonds his chariot wheels? | You blocks, you
stones, you worse than senseless things! (I.i.32 35) The use of propaganda here is quite obvious,
Murellus is upset that Caesar, in his mind, was unjust in taking the throne and slandering him to the
people. He also slanders the people of Rome, calling them worse than senseless beings to provoke
either strong emotion or fear within them. Power comes from language and speech here by evoking
emotions inside and making your opponents vulnerable and weak. That s what propaganda has always
been used for. Shakespeare s deeper meaning in Julius Caesar is that everyone is weak and vulnerable,
no matter who or what you are. Everyone can have their emotions taken out by others, and speech is
the tool and weapon to make opponents weak. Antony resembles this idea of a powerful figure using
propaganda and slander as his weapons further in the play when at Caesar s funeral. In front of the
many plebeians at Antony s funeral, who were in favor of Brutus at the time, Antony announced, So
are they all, all honorable men | Come I to speak in Caesar s funeral. | He was my friend, faithful and
just to me. | But Brutus says he was ambitious | And Brutus is an honorable man. (III.ii.82 86) Antony
is showing the people of Rome how Brutus was an honorable man, although he was ambitious to get
the throne. A sob story is what Antony is producing, showing the people he loved Caesar, but Brutus
must be right for killing him, he is honorable.

  • 2. How Racing Share The Same Fundamentals Of Racing Regardless of if you enjoy racing or not, you likely know what either Nascar or Formula One is. In the United States of America, Nascar is by far the most popular form of racing. This popularity allows the sport to have its 4.5 billion [dollar] television contract that began in 2007 (Odland). Meanwhile in the rest of the world, Formula One is the most popular. Evidently, Formula One generates an immense amount of wealth as well. Red Bull, a sponsor in Formula One, is thought to have generated an estimated $283 million in brand exposure in just one season alone(Smith). Due to the fact that they are both forms of racing, a multitude of people group these two very different genres of racing together and claim that they are basically the same. While there are some central similarities, these are two abundantly different forms of racing. The most important and basic similarity is that both forms of racing share the same fundamentals of racing. The essential differences between the two include the cars that are driven as well as the tracks used for races. Both Nascar and Formula One share the same fundamentals of racing. The ultimate goal is to win every race that you possibly can. This is done by finishing before, often in front of, everyone else. In each form of racing, drivers take what are called pit stops. This is when a driver pulls into a designated area where his/her team is located. Then that teams provides car adjustments and fuel. These pit stops are critical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Real Monster In Mel Brooks Young Frankenstein Mary Shelley is noted as a brilliant novelist for writing the unorthodox tale called Frankenstein at only 18, creating one of the earliest examples of science fiction. This spark of a new genre inspired countless pieces in the Gothic Romantic era of literature; many of these stories are cliche and typically featuring a tall, green, bolts in the neck giant named Frankenstein. By now, we know that this is false and that the real monster was a grotesque man formed by a scientist named Victor Frankenstein. However, there are a few pieces that do capture the beauty of the original novel. The American horror comedy Young Frankenstein is one of them. Written and directed by Mel Brooks, the film is drastically different, yet, similar to the book by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The difference is what they discover and learn on their adventures, and how they are welcomed upon their returns. Victor s monster was isolated most of the time, observing humans and learning how to speak, and when he overstepped his boundaries he was shut out. Both monsters encounter an old blind man and a child in their journeys. Victor s monster was punished for encountering both of them, but Frederick s creature was welcomed by the old blind man, who was praying for a visitor to talk to and was showed innocent kindness by the little girl. Frederick was also actively seeking out his lost monster and lured him back to his laboratory, whereas Victor let his monster run loose, and did not see him again for two years. Upon returning, Victor s monster is now fluent in English, yet Victor continues to curse him. Frederick s monster is still mute and terrified of him, but Frederick does not give up. • 4. Personal Statement For Secondary School Certificate Essay Steve Jobs once said that the only way to do great work is to love what you do and you must have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. All my life I have been driven by this quote in trying to follow my dreams. Some people are afraid of dreaming or do nothing but dream. But few dream, and work to make their dreams true. I consider myself in the second category. Raised in a strong and secure family, I have been fortunate to have parents who have instilled in me good values and principles, where education has always been given the top priority. I achieved GPA 4.63 out of 5.00 in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and GPA 4.60 out of 5.00 in Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination. I got Scholarships for excellent result in both primary school certificate (class 5) and junior school certificate (class 8). I finally got myself admitted in the four years Bachelor Degree programme in Geography and Environment at University of Dhaka, the most renowned institution in Bangladesh. I obtained CGPA 3.25 out of 4 at my bachelor degree. I am always fascinated by the geo visualization and communication of spatial technologies. During my undergraduate level in Geography and Environment, I was taught a variety of courses, such as Biogeography, Climatology, Geomorphology, Environmental Chemistry, Environmental Ecology, and Environmental Management, Land use Planning Development, Urban Agricultural Geography, Economics and Sociology etc. I was also introduced with ... • 5. Theory, An Optimal Executive Compensation Scheme Essay In theory, an optimal executive compensation scheme overcomes the principal agent problem by aligning the interests of executives and shareholders, and subsequently providing executives an incentive to maximise shareholder value. Furthermore, an executive compensation scheme must be sufficient to attract and retain the appropriate executive. According to Bognanno (2014), restricted stocks and stock options are the most common forms of equity based compensation schemes, with stock options accounting for almost half of US CEO compensation in 2000. Since economic agents respond to incentives, the intuition behind equity based compensation schemes is that providing executives with a form of compensation that is tied with the performance of the company, will provide an incentive for the executive to maximise shareholder value. For instance, assume an executive is provided with a stock option of 100 stocks with a strike price of $10, the executive will only receive a payoff if the stock price is above $10 (see Figure 1). If the stock price is above the strike price, the executive is able to exercise the option by purchasing the stock at $10 and selling the stock on the spot market. Since the executive has an incentive to maximise his or her payoff, the executive s interests are in theory, aligned with shareholders and the executive is expected undertake activities which maximises shareholder value. DiPrete et al. (2010) suggest that executive compensation practices cannot be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Examples Of Archetype In Neverwhere By Neil Gaiman Neverwhere and the Hero s Journey Archetype Structure From the Richard Mayhew s humble beginnings in the ordinary world to his adventure that takes place in London Below Neverwhere, by Neil Gaiman, fits into the Hero s Journey archetype. Although there are many factors that show correlation between Neverwhere and the Hero s Journey archetype, the major factors include the contrast between the ordinary and special worlds, the call to adventure, and the ordeal. To begin with, the setting of Neverwhere plays one of the most important roles in the novel. No one ever seems to be interested in how coffee was discovered, who discovered it, who invented coffee machines, and how those were invented. There is no limit to the history behind all of these questions. Coffee has been around for centuries, and has changed history to say the least. The first coffee plants are said to have come from the Horn of Africa on the shores of the Red Sea. Originally, coffee beans were not used as a beverage, but eaten. East African tribes would grind the coffee cherries together and mix it with animal fat, and then the paste would be rolled into little balls. The mixture was said to give warriors much needed energy for battle (A Brief History). The plants that the beans grow on actually resemble tiny Christmas trees. Originally the beans are a red color, and actually have a floral scent. The beans turn their known brown black color when they are roasted, and the darker the color determines how long they have been roasted. During the 11th century in Ethiopia, goat herder Kaldi noticed his goats became so active, not wanting to sleep at night, all from the consumption of these berries (The History of Coffee). There have been two main arguments that have stemmed from the different interpretations of the national document. One argument supported that the Second Amendment supported an individual or personal right to have firearms, in particular for self defense, separate and apart from citizen service in government militia. The second argument was that the amendment created a citizen right of revolution or insurrection , meaning that citizens had a right to engage in armed revolt against their government if they felt that the government was behaving in an unjust manner (Spitzer, The Right to Bear Arms). Both of these views have been at the heart of the controversy of gun control. Some could say that it really depends on whom you talk to of how the Second Amendment applies to the current battle over gun control in today s society. For example, gun rights advocates like the NRA (National Rifle Association) interpret the Amendment to ensure the right of individuals to possess and carry firearms (A Right to Bear Arms?, UMKC School of Law). Gun control advocates such as the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence state that the term militia is used elsewhere in the Constitution, and it always refers to the state organized militia (Tushnet, Interpreting). • 32. The Trafficking And Forms Of Human Trafficking Essay 2.1.2 The concept of Human Trafficking and forms of Human Trafficking Human trafficking is a complex phenomenon hence difficult to conceptualize (Maclnnis, 2012). Scholars, nations and international organizations have individually or collectively tried to define human trafficking and, not surprisingly, they disagree with one another. United States (US) for instance does not consider organ trade as human trafficking whereas the United Nations (UN) and Canada do (United States Department of State 2010; United Nations 2012). According to Malawi Human Trafficking Act (2015), trafficking in persons means: recruiting, transportation, transferring, harbouring, receiving or obtaining a person within or outside the territory of Malawi through the use of threat or use of force or coercion, abduction, fraud or deception or abuse of power or position, vulnerability, legal processes or giving or receiving payments to obtain consent of a person having control of the trafficked person for the purpose of exploitation of the person. The United Nations under the Palermo Protocol tried to make an internationally agreed definition which talked about three key elements relating to intent and consent as follows: Trafficking in persons shall mean the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of persons, by means of threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the ... No one can doubt that. In a time of turmoil, hatred, fear, and hope, these speakers have come forth to create produce reverence in their foes. The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, written by William Shakespeare, is a fantastic example of the power of language and speech in front of the citizens who believe and trust their leaders. Language is power, and the ability to use language and speech is the power needed to rule an empire. Although sometimes used for hate, language and speech, especially in Julius Caesar, is a potent tool and weapon used to fight for beliefs and ideas, to spread propaganda, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Shakespeare thought about the important use of propaganda as a political weapon for many characters, most importantly Antony and Murellus. As Caesar triumphs home from his defeat over Pompey, the audience can see Murellus clearly upset, stating, Wherefore rejoice? What conquest brings he home? | What tributaries follow him to Rome | To grace in captive bonds his chariot wheels? | You blocks, you stones, you worse than senseless things! (I.i.32 35) The use of propaganda here is quite obvious, Murellus is upset that Caesar, in his mind, was unjust in taking the throne and slandering him to the people. He also slanders the people of Rome, calling them worse than senseless beings to provoke either strong emotion or fear within them. Power comes from language and speech here by evoking emotions inside and making your opponents vulnerable and weak. That s what propaganda has always been used for. Shakespeare s deeper meaning in Julius Caesar is that everyone is weak and vulnerable, no matter who or what you are. Everyone can have their emotions taken out by others, and speech is the tool and weapon to make opponents weak. Antony resembles this idea of a powerful figure using propaganda and slander as his weapons further in the play when at Caesar s funeral. In front of the many plebeians at Antony s funeral, who were in favor of Brutus at the time, Antony announced, So are they all, all honorable men | Come I to speak in Caesar s funeral. | He was my friend, faithful and just to me. | But Brutus says he was ambitious | And Brutus is an honorable man. (III.ii.82 86) Antony is showing the people of Rome how Brutus was an honorable man, although he was ambitious to get the throne. A sob story is what Antony is producing, showing the people he loved Caesar, but Brutus must be right for killing him, he is honorable. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
