What Is The Mood Of She Walks In Beauty
In literature, authors use different stylistic elements to establish their viewpoints on a variety of topics
without directly stating it. Or, they can state it and give descriptive details about their viewpoint. Lord
Byron does this in his poem She Walks In Beauty . Through the uses of details, diction, and language,
Byron is able to create a passionate tone throughout the poem when describing the beauty of the
woman. The beginning of the poem uses a great deal of romantic details to put emphasis on the beauty
of the woman that is described in Byron s poem. The details used by Byron focuses on the physical
features of the woman that make her strikingly beautiful and stand out to him. For instance, to put
emphasis on the beauty of the woman, he compares her to the night of cloudless climes and starry
skies (2 Byron). In addition, he also describes her raven tress or her hair in other words, and how
gracefully it moves and how it s one of the characteristics that make her beautiful. Moreover, Byron
claims that the woman is perfect to him ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Focusing on visual appeal, he uses personification towards her face and sweet thoughts. When Byron
states Or softly lightens o er her face; How pure, how dear, their dwelling place , he is talking about
how the beauty of the woman s expressions give readers the idea that her mind is pure and innocent.
(11/12 byron) The beauty of her facial expression show how serenely sweet her thoughts are. In other
words, the innocence and purity of the woman is another trait that makes her beautiful. He also directs
the reader s attention on the way her hair or her raven tress and the way it suits her face perfectly in
the speaker s view. Byron points out that the woman s black hair brings out her facial features because
her dark, black hair lightens her face and makes her facial features stand

Gigi Hadid Attractiveness
The highest scoring individual in attractiveness out of all of the celebrities was Gigi Hadid. Gigi
Hadid had an average score of 8.7 and was also the highest scoring celebrity based on proximity to the
golden ratio; Hadid scored a 9.5. A score of 10 would represent near perfection/perfection to the
golden ratio, Hadid s closeness is a biostatistical phenomenon. The majority of other celebrities tested
in the experiment tended to have higher average rates of attractiveness when they were most
approximate to the ratio and vice versa. The lowest scoring celebrity for attractiveness and golden
ratio proximity was Kanye West. West scored a 5.55 (attractiveness) and 5 (proximity). Kanye West

A corrective measure for altered photos, would be to use the most natural looking pictures in which
minimal or no makeup is worn as well as using before picture of a published photo ( before relating to
the image before photoshop). The only fix a differing perception of beauty based on aesthetic surgery
is to used photos of celebrities who have not had plastic surgery. This can be determined by research
or news interviews with the celebrity regarding plastic surgery or facial features they have
aesthetically altered. The focus group, the 50 individuals rating the attractiveness of celebrities,
biasedly rating individuals is difficult to prevent. The individuals rating the celebrities could be
constantly reminded to base rates primarily on attractiveness and by asking a varying group of people
to rate the individuals to get the opinion of a mock society. However, a more accurate solution to this
problem would be to have surveyors rate photos of random individuals that they have more than likely
never had exposure to or contact with. This would ensure that bias does not get in the way of
collecting an accurate average rate of attractiveness. Incorrect measurements

Block Booking System, Admission Price Discrimination, And...
The Code established trade practices consisting of the block booking system, admission price
discrimination, and the formation of clearance and zoning boards. Block booking was a practice in
which motion picture companies would sell their movies in blocks in a package deal to the exhibitors.
Even though exhibitors were given information about the films they were licensing like who starred in
it, what it was about, etc. the films were licensed without viewing the movie at the time of contracting
(Klein, 2000, p. 431), which meant that the movie studios could even profit off of bad productions as
these blocks were sold as a bulk all or nothing deal. This meant that if the exhibitors wanted one
movie out of the entire block, they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The only viable way to make profits was to rely on the novelty of an early run of a new release to
attract audiences. The problem with such a reliance was that runs in theaters were regulated by the
Clearance and Zoning boards, which were set up as another practice under the Code in an attempt to
organize distribution of films in the nation. It arranged theaters in different regions on the marketing
pattern of zoning, clearance and run. The country was divided into thirty markets, compartmentalized
into zones, and classified by runs that would range from fourteen days to forty two days or more with
a potential of running for more than a year in large markets (Schuchman, Balio, 1994). This practice
gave the Board, which was dominated by the Big 5, the power to control which movie would play
when and where. This was specifically important as movies that were already viewed by the potential
audience, would not draw in the same patronage as it would in the first run. Consequently whoever got
the right to show the movie first would stand to make the most profit. It was very obvious that this
would be a potential source of discrimination against independent exhibitors as the Big 5 would favor
their own exhibition houses over that of independent exhibitors. With all three practices, it was clear
that the intention was to increase profits. Survival of businesses was very precarious as many

The Fire that Changed America
The Cold War was a new conflict that began to rise after the horrific and globally destructive World
War II in the mid 20th century between two powerful countries, the democratic United States of
America and the communist government of the Soviet Union. Both countries highlighted its
superiority through a thriving threat of nuclear weapons and wide ranging espionage and counter
espionage between the two countries. In the 1950 s, space became the platform for the competition of
supremacy to validate each country s dominance in innovative technology, military firepower, and
political economic system. Space was seen by David Beers, in the book Blue Sky Dream: A memoir of
America s Fall from Grace, as the next frontier which was a logical extension of the grand American
tradition of exploration. The rise of the aerospace industry became the icon of national reputation and
a dream for the blue sky tribe, who benefitted from the space race, which then later on led to
disappointment and betrayal in the 1990s.
The space race begun in 1957 with the launch of Sputnik by the Soviet Union. In addition, the United
States aerospace innovation was considerably prompted by the government s steady upward ratcheting
of requirements for the acceleration, efficiency, and performance based on speedily evolving project
requirements. Fifteen thousand workers had arrived on the outskirts on (the city of) Sacramento
(pg.55) in California due to the rising aerospace industry. David Beers

Prejudice and Racism in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, by Mark Twain, is an excellent
example of racism in literature, because it uses language describing
African Americans which goes beyond satire. It treats them as objects and
perpetuates stereotypes. It does not expose and deal with racism, as many
advocates of its reading claim, but encourages an attitude of superiority
that is unnecessary and intolerable. In order to rid ourselves from this
racism, African American literature should be read more often in classrooms
throughout the United States. Anything less will simply perpetuate racism.
The American Heritage Dictionary defines racism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead, he is acted upon and is often the
center of attention, treated as a problem throughout the book. When he
breaks this pattern, and takes action, his image is not helped. Even when
he tries to help Tom near the end, he is not shown as a human being, but at
best a noble savage who acts without reason.
Finally, Jim s character is a stereotype. He is a black man trying
to find a new home, and buy back his family. He believes in a wealth of
superstitions and religious taboos which the white reader often laughs at.
He has no desire to pursue academics, nor any concerns of finding a real
job. This image, forwarded by Twain without any indication that he
disagrees with it, clearly illustrates racial superiority. The whites in
the story might be bad, but they are not ever grouped together, or called
by such a painful term as niggers.
Using the term nigger has no healing effect, especially not among
white readers. Most shrug and say Yeah, I guess that s offensive, but I
don t mind it, it s part of the times. Surely they would not say the same
if they were African Americans. Whites cannot possibly understand the
anguish this causes, possibly with the exception of frequent Anti Semitism
which must be endured by many Jewish children. We just don t care, and do
not see why others

Control of Virtual Networks Spanning Multiple...
6.2 Virtual network ID, Virtual link ID:
In order to control virtual networks spanning multiple infrastructure domains, the virtual networks
must be identified by a virtual network ID. Additionally the virtual links are also needed to be
identified which can be done by using virtual link ID. One of the solution would consist of simply
mapping the virtual link ID to whatever data link layer specific tag is in use. A number of available
link virtualization techniques such as ATM, Ethernet VLAN could be used for this purpose. This
Virtual link ID can be used for both virtual link identifier and a tag for data forwarding.
12
Scalability is a major requirement for virtual networks. For this reason, virtual link aggregation will
constitute an important requirement for network virtualization. Virtual link aggregation can be defined
as a set of virtual links that follow a common path and are similarly treated between a pair of virtual
nodes. It can be performed by carrying at least two types of identifiers in the data plane, one for virtual
network identification and another for hop by hop forwarding. Hence, virtual link aggregation
enhances scalability and also improves performance.

Overpopulation can be described as the failure of the...
Overpopulation can be described as the failure of the world s resources to sustain the population. The
limited natural resources have increased challenges for countries facing this. This paper covers the
effects of overpopulation in the world today.
The current world s population is approximately six billion people, and the amount of time that it
takes for the population to increase by another billion is decreasing with each billion. It is estimated
that they will be about eight billion people by the year 2020, and this is due to its continuation of
growth (Southwick 159). An understanding of the causes and what might possibly happen is the first
step to dealing with the population crisis.
The world s human population has been growing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This results in a high level of crime because the people will do anything to survive. (Dolan 55)
Overpopulation does not just affect the standard of living, but also the environment. Every person on
the planet takes up space, but space is needed for farmland and forests. People excrete wastes and
pollution that flow into water systems and animal habitats. Resulting in polluted water and killing of
the wildlife. Many people cannot do personal hygiene every day because of the status of the water in
their country. The major negative effect is the limited and scarce natural resources. Main resources
such as: water, land and energy among others scarce or diminished. Populations have become so large
that they re draining the resources where there is no sufficient supply for the needs for all. As a result,
this has led to depletion of resources, and extinction of species and forestry. (Simonetta 2009).
Most ecologists consider human population growth to be one of the most serious problems
contributing to environmental scarceness. Human population growth works in combination with
excessive consumption to threaten global environmentally. (Southwick 160). It has been disputed that
having a larger world population leads to an increase in human capital, will lead to an increase in the
world s standard of living. Dr. Julian Simon believes that the world is making progress because people
are living longer and more fulfilling

Analysis OfOur Oceans Are Turning Into Plastic, Are You,...
Plastic isn t known to be a substance made for consumption, but you may be eating it every day. In
Our Oceans Are Turning into Plastic...Are You? the author Susan Casey is informing us how bad
plastic is polluting our oceans. Susan Casey is the author of a New York Times best seller, The Devils
Teeth , helped publish Into Thin Air and The Perfect Storm, and is the editor and chief of Oprah
Winfrey s Magazine O . She argues that these pollutants are doing damage in multiple facets, such as
affecting food chains, disrupts organism reproduction, and directly cause the things we consume to be
harmful to us. The author found many creative ways to appeal to all three persuasive appeals which
are Logos, Pathos, and Ethos. Although the article was great at the end she added things that weren t
needed and seemed to just be there as filler. To set up the stage for her credibility she tells a short story
of the person who she gets most of her information from. The person s name is Charles Moore he was
a boat captain who decided to take a different route that he usually takes, and he found a huge area of
circling garbage in the ocean and this led to him changing occupations and creating Marine Research
Foundation. She further explains his credentials and those who work for his foundations credibility.
Her extensive explanation of Moore and what people who work for him is an effective form of Ethos.
Although the beginning may seem long and stretched out longer than it had to be its not, she had to
approach this topic this way because she is an accomplished writer but not in this field so she with this
specific topic isn t a credible source, so she found one. Along with Ethos she threw both Pathos and
Logos back to back when she tells us how seeing dead birds wash ashore is more prevalent than is
used to be, discussing pictures of our trash cutting up animals, then showing a picture of a turtle who
is deformed because of a plastic ring. After this she has a chart that shows how much plastic
production has increased over the years and another one that shows only 3% of plastic is recycled.
That was an effective choice of timing and placement because most people when they see graphs they
don t even try to read them but

The Christian Doctrine Of The Trinity
Outline the development of the Christian doctrine of the Trinity from the New Testament Church to
the Nicene Creed.
I will like to crave your indulgence to the fact that Nicene concept of Trinity is never stated in the
Bible, and it is that early Christians as well as the scriptures clearly points out the fact that Jesus was
fully divine and pre existent. For the fact that, none of the early Christian theologians fully asserted
the doctrine of the Trinity, not even a speculation about the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. According to
the father of the paganism description of Trinity God can in no way be described. (Schindler 148).
In the 4th century there are different schools of thought that were developed in Antioch, were they try
to literarily interpret the Scriptures with a great deal of emphasis on the historical context of Trinity.
Arius who is also known as Nicene, came up with the Nicene Creed by arguing the fact that Jesus was
not God, and the Father by itself is true God. Base on the fact that God created Jesus, Arius was able
to support his argument with the books of (Proverbs 8:22 and John 14:28) the Father is greater than I
as a proof.
On the other hand, a number of philosophy was able to argue that Christ was homoousios (same or
one substance) in a way to debunk Nicene Creed by describing the relationship that exist between the
father and Son, by stating the fact that Jesus is God that come to earth as a man which is also the
Father. Arius believes that it

Reaction Paper On Pre-Interaction
Pre Interaction:
What information are you seeking to gain from this interaction?
During this interaction, I am hoping to gain information about various topics on campus. The
following topics include: Public Safety, lack of trash cans, how to get commuter students more
involved, and how can we improve the GCU experience for commuter students. The reason, I bought
up discussing about Public Safety, is that commuter students are the ones who constantly are walking
to and from the Halo and 29th Avenue garages and I just want to see if there has been any issues. The
reason, I plan on discussing the lack of trash cans, is that it was bought up to my attention during a
previous interaction that there were not trash cans by the popular areas like the student union and the
Engineering classrooms. Also, this individual was concern that there is a lack of trash cans by the
commuter lounge. The third question, I wanted to focus on how we could get more commuter students
to our events. Lastly, I want every commuter student to feel like they have a great college experience
that is why I am asking how we can make their experience at GCU better.
Please list the questions that you plan to ask students below:
Do you feel safe when coming on and off campus? How you experience any issues?
Do you feel there is a lack of trash cans near popular areas like the Student Union and the Engineering
building?
How can we get more commuter students involved on campus?
How can we improve your GCU experience?
Notes:
Post Interaction:
What were the main concerns and issues raised by students?
The main concerns and issues raised by students were that they do not feel like they know about
various events on campus. Most students felt that there should be an email that goes out with all the
events that week on it. Another issue was they feel like that they need to have more events in the
afternoon early evening, so they can attend. They feel like they will not come back to campus unless it
is a really big event. Another issue that was addressed was installing a left turn signal by the Halo
garage. Most commuter students felt that this would solve the issues of trying to get out of the

What Happens During A Preliminary Hearing In Federal Court
A criminal prosecution usually begins with an arraignment: A preliminary hearing (aka a prelim, a
probable cause hearing, PX and a preliminary examination) is very similar to an arraignment, but it
provides the defendant a greater opportunity for counter argument. In essence, a preliminary hearing is
a trial before the trial. It is during the preliminary hearing that the judge or magistrate decides whether
there is enough evidence for the accused to stand trial. When making his or her determination, the
judge/magistrate uses what is referred to as the probable cause legal standard. This standard helps him
or her decide whether the prosecution has produced a sufficient amount of evidence to convince a jury
of the defendant s guilt.

During a preliminary hearing in federal court, the government s attorney (Prosecutor) will present
evidence to the judge/magistrate: The prosecutor may choose to present physical evidence and/or call
in witnesses to testify. The prosecutor s goal is to prove to the judge/magistrate that there is enough
evidence for the case to go to trial and convince a jury of the defendant s guilt. Once the prosecution
has presented all its evidence and its witnesses have testified, the defense is usually given the
opportunity to respond.
The defense typically has the chance to cross examine any of the witnesses the government has
presented. In addition, any other evidence against the defendant may be called into question. While
each case is unique, the defense usually has the right to call witnesses and provide evidence as well.
The goal of the defense is to show the judge/magistrate that the prosecution does not have a strong
enough case to take to trial and, therefore, convince the judge/magistrate that the case must be

Gadamer s Analysis
Gadamer s hermenutics is a continuation of the hermenutics of Heidegger, Gadamer held that
contemplation is the opposite to experience and reflection and we can only reach the truth by
understanding our experience. To unfold the nature of individual understanding is vital. He criticised
Dilthey in his book Truth and Method (1975) where he claims that he is limited by his insistence of a
totality of meaning , his aim was to uncover the nature of human understanding. Gadamer s thoughts
suggest that every heremeneutic act is already structred by coscious and unconscious Vorurteile
(preconceptions) that determine the way in which an object is seen. There is no completely objective
view of an issue, as for the viewer, a bias will always be there. ... Show more content on

However, Weiss (1991) appeared to give little credence to Gadamer s contributions based on the fact
that Gadamer failed to note the nuance that seperated Dilthey s thoughts from those of his
predecessors. Considering, the shared lived experience , Dilthey does not infer the a priori structure of
universal experience featured in the Hegelian model. He also does not give any precedence to
communal experience over individual, when forming his version of shared history, this emphasises
that Dilthey s objectivity is one that is made up of all persons s lived experiences and not just those of
a singled out individual. Dilthey appears to be too much under the influence of the scientific ideology,
that everything is reducible to scientific

For Tesco to set its goal and to satisfy all its stakeholders (customers, suppliers, employees, the
society) it is important to identify and analyse its five performance objectives. These objectives
consist of:
The quality objective: want to do things right
The quality objective for Tesco means that the operation manager makes sure of that the store
environment looks good so that it attract customers, and that they provide customer service. If Tesco
provides good customer service and makes sure of keeping the environment looking good, the
customers are more likely to come back instead of going to Tesco s competitors.
The quality inside the operation is also important. If someone makes a mistake within the operation,
time and money must be spent correcting this mistake.
If the operation have not reordered all the goods they need, this can lead to irritated customers and
lower revenue for the operation.
The speed objective: want to do things fast
The speed objectives is concerned with how long time it will take the customer to get to the store, buy
the product and arrive back home again. The customers would like to do this as quick as possible and
Tesco s operation managers should try to make this process quicker than its competitors.
Speed is also important inside the operation. If the movement of materials and information is not
quick enough, this could delay the process of serving the customers as quickly as possible.

One of the many things I ve learned about CIW and its Business Careers is that in your web Brower

The second key to having a successful business is to provide value by working towards the same goal
inspires in the team members with a strong sense of purpose. The team sees value in working together
to accomplish a certain goal that gives them a meaningful reason to work together, along with
receiving mutual benefits for the company as well as the team. And the last key thing to having a
successful business is that everybody does an equal amount of work. This is very important to having
a successful business because it provides every team member with equal opportunities to participate
and communicate their ideas. This to me is very helpful to make me a better computer technician and I
now will know what to do if I ever have to work in a group.
The third thing I found to be very important to help me better become a computer technician is
netiquette. The word netiquette has been made to encourage a common sense and politeness, and to
establish general rules for Internet etiquette. In order to conduct a productive and effective career
search, it is critical to practice good networking etiquette. Five key important things about netiquette is
that first, it is very important to have good networking etiquette is to be mindful of other people s

2009, just minutes before he miraculously landed US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River after
losing both engines due to multiple bird strikes two minutes after takeoff (US). Due to the extensive
training, considerable flying time, and the experience as a glider pilot held by Sully, many today

reasons, however, Socrates would vigorously proclaim Sully s courage. To Socrates, ... Show more

The interesting part about Socrates definition is that it hinges on knowledge. Socrates would not call a
child who is deathly afraid of heights yet still climbs a stable platform courageous. By Socrates
definition of courage, one must understand what is worthy of apprehension this understanding is
gained through wisdom. Socrates attributes courage to the component of the human being he labels
the spirit, but he links courage to wisdom. When the spirit preserves through pains and pleasures the
pronouncements of reason about what should inspire terror and what should not, the individual would
be deemed courageous (442b13 c3). It is important to note that those pronouncements stem from
wisdom without the wisdom to correctly judge things as worthy of terror or not, courage is impossible.
The kind of wisdom Socrates associates with courage knows what things should be feared and what
things should be faced with confidence. Jumping in front of a train to save somebody can wisely be
faced with confidence because the cause is just. The emphasis is on what the person risks compared to
what that person is aiming at, what is more noble. The wisdom and knowledge associated with
wisdom are oriented about that comparison. Socrates states it is imperative that one s correct beliefs of
what should and should not inspire terror must be unwavering unaffected by pleasures, pains,
appetites, or fears (429c12 13). This introduces a subtle element of Socrates definition of courage:

attention to the arts and law during his reign. However it is argued the reign of James IV may be
characterised as militaristic in comparison to other areas of his reign. This essay will discuss the
military action and expenses. The essay will also cover the non militaristic side of his reign looking at
the renaissance aspect and his involvement with government.
One reason to support the idea the reign of James IV can characterised as militaristic is his
involvement and method of engagement with the lord of isles at his weakest point during lordship. In
his early reign the lord of the isles John McDonald had taken claim of the western isles as his territory.
The lord of the isles had been problematic for monarchs before James.
According to Jean Munro The internal discord among the island families probably gave James a
chance to strike so the lords of the islands may live in peace and quiet. This demonstrates James may
have waited for an opportunity to remove the lord of the

Why Prostitution Is Prostitution
As I stated in my last paper, sex trafficking is a form of human trafficking that uses sexual exploitation
amongst mainly women and girls. Human trafficking has become a global issue as 2.5 million people
are being trafficked worldwide (Farley, n.d.). Sex trafficking can be exploited in your eyes known as
prostitution. According to Laws.Com, the most common type labor in human trafficking, is
prostitution . Prostitution is the practice or occupation of engaging in promiscuous sexual relations
especially for money. Many people overlook prostitution because of the assumption of it being
voluntarily. Although statistics on prostitution is difficult due to illegal commercial acts, eighty
percent of prostitutes do not like the condition they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nationwide, prostitution is deemed illegal except for certain parts in Nevada ( Prostitution, n.d.). To
deem human trafficking illegal, the Mann Act became a federal statute in 1910 to stop the interstate
trafficking for women (Mann Act, n.d.). A woman who has been trafficked for a long period of time
can make it easier for the trafficker to use her when engaging in commercial sex. Women can be
forced into prostitution in a number of ways. Normally, the women would gain trust in the trafficker in
exchange for a better life. On the other hand, the women would think that her and the pimp or
trafficker is going to run a legitimate business that would benefit the both of them (Prostitution:
frequently asked questions). When freedom becomes rare, victims then realize the danger they are in
and are scared to leave. Prostitution then becomes a lifestyle for them.
Already fighting against traffickers and solicitors, prostitutes then find themselves fighting the law.
Charges related to prostitution can require fines, temporary arrest for the duration of the process (How
can, n.d.), and depending on your background jail time. Women who have been charged with
prostitution may have to pay a fine up to $2500, but the buyer will pay a fine of $100 to $250
depending on their background. Traffickers, or pimps will receive harsh punishments than the
prostitute, and the buyer. Knowing the extent of what a trafficker does, like the physical and sexual
abuse, trafficking a person is a

Warren W. Harding s Life
In a farmhouse near Corsica, Ohio, the United States twenty ninth president was born. Warren
Gamaliel Harding was the eldest of George and Phoebe Harding s eight children. In July of 1891,
Harding got married to Florence Kling. They were married for the remainder of his life. Kling, whom
had married once before, had a child from her previous marriage, but her and Warren did not have any
children together. Warren G. Harding was the president from 1921 to 1923 representing the
Republican Party. When inaugurated, he was fifty five years old. Harding did not get to finish out his
term because he died in 1923 at San Francisco. Although President Harding did not serve in the
military before his time as president, he had a rather extensive business background. After graduating
from Ohio Central College, Harding tried out several careers, like teaching, law, and the insurance
business. But he did not find anything he liked until he went into the field of journalism. Harding had
actually worked on a newspaper during his college years called Iberia Spectator. This experience
helped him later in life in his journalism career. Warren G. Harding first worked for the Marion
Mirror, but his Republican views clashed with the Democratic paper and he was fired. Later on in the
year, the Marion Star went bankrupt and with the help of his father, Harding bought out the
newspaper. His newspaper was a such a success that Warren published a weekly version of the
newspaper called The Weekly

The Hitchhiking Game
The feminist literary criticism approach tends to focus on how male authors represent women in their
pieces. For male authors tend to show over masculinity and male dominance, The Hitchhiking Game
by Milan Kundera exhibited how the young man s treatment to the woman throughout this piece was a
prime example of male dominance and misogyny. With the woman having a very passive role, with
her being described as shy and after dating a year, she still acts shy in front of the young man. In
terms, socialization is how a woman should act in society, normally shown through how the woman
acts in the piece, (Mohammed Raiyah, 2012). The woman is displaying how women should show a
level of modesty. When the woman s role conflicting with the young man s view of her, his opinion
her lessened, even though she is trying to portray herself as a woman the young man would find most
attractive. Also, still portraying herself as the submissive counterpart. The Hitchhiking Game unnamed
couple s role playing game revealed how close they actually are and their true expectations for their
relationship. The couple appears to have a conditional relationship with the female being the passive
partner while the young man is the active partner. The woman describes how, She wanted him to be
completely hers and she to be completely his, but it often seemed to her that the more she tried to give
him everything, the more she denied him something: the very thing that a light and superficial love or

Daniel Chapter 3 Hebrew Men Analysis
In this essay I will be writing about The Three Hebrew Men. This story comes from the book of
Daniel chapter 3. It is about three men whose names were: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
The bible makes us to understand that the king of the Babylon empire at that time was king
Nebuchadnezzar. The story starts off when Nebuchadnezzar built a statute of Gold. Then he invited
important people from all over the land to come and see the statute that he built. Daniel chapter 3
verse 4 5 says: Then a herald cried aloud: To you it is commanded, O peoples, nations, and languages,
that at the time you hear the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery, in symphony with all
kinds of music, you shall fall down and worship the gold image that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up.
king Nebuchadnezzar had asked all the people who came to see the statue to fall down and worship
the statue. Meanwhile it is written in the bible that when the Israelites where in the wilderness God
gave them the 10 commandments. When king Nebuchadnezzar asked them to worship the image he
was going against one of the 10 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He said to them in chapter 13: Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you do not serve my
gods or worship the gold image which I have set up? After he said that he gave them another chance to
bow to his image but Shadrach Meshach and Abednego refused again. They said to the king: O
Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. 17 If that is the case, our God whom
we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O
king. (Daniel 3:16 17). They replied to him with confidence. Hey refused to be moved by his threat
because they had hope in GOD. The believed that God would save them. This shows us that no matter
what threat we face we should always put our hope in the lord that we

Elements Of A Personal Protective Equipment Program
Personal Protective Equipment Program
The following report answers questions on a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Program project. It
will briefly describe the different components of a PPE Program for a company called ABC Plastics
and outline the elements of a typical program.
Scope and Description of the PPE Program
ABC Plastics Company will access the workplace to identify and evaluate the hazards present or
potential hazards likely to be present which requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
If the hazards are present or likely to be present, we will as far as it is reasonably practicable remove
or eliminate the hazards or exposure through engineering control. Where this is not feasible, we will
select the type of PPE that will protect the employee, require that the PPE is used by the employee and
communicate the selection decision to the employees.
The purpose of this PPE program is to protect our employees by ensuring that the workers are trained
on the use, and maintenance of the appropriate PPE. We will ensure that the PPE is provided, used,
and maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition due to the potential hazards from workplace
processes.
As part of the Health and Safety Orientation we will ensure that all employees and contractors are
initially trained in the use of the PPE relevant to their area of occupational responsibility, primary
work area and assigned task at the time of hire. Ongoing and refresher training in PPE will be made

The Public School System Of Education
The public school system of education in the United States of America needs to change for many
different reason, we not only need for our schools to change we need it to be done as soon as possible.
We live in a society where our children are failing to meet the academic standards or enhanced their
social skills to be prepared for the outside world. My second reason for our schools to change is that
they are overcrowded for insists one teacher in one classroom can teach up to 15 to 20 kids. My last
reason is the budget for our schools, we are losing funding for many different things raging from
materials to creative classes.
Besides parents themselves teachers are extremely important because they are the key to our children s
education future. Madeline Levine said ( One thing we know for sure is that kids learn better when
teachers are invested and paying attention and showing they care. ) Which is very true, you see
without teachers our kids would be sitting ducks however, it is also up to us the parents to teach our
kids as John Hood said in his article ( Providing students opportunities at school does not guarantee
success if student watch television rather than do their homework and parents let them. ) We as the
parents and teachers need some type of communication and understanding because our children are
failing, some are struggle to meet the academic standards. The school board created this program
called no child left behind and you would think that is a good thing

The Science Of Determination The Figure Of The Earth
CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Research Background:
Geodesy is considered, according to Bruns (1878) and Helmert (1884), as the science of determination
the figure of the earth as well as its gravitational field. This covers the basic general form of the earth
as a flattened rotational ellipsoid and the visible topographic surface resulted from gravitational
attraction of uneven inner masses. Thus, physical and geometric aspects are inseparably correlated
(Moritz 2015).
In geodesy, the figure of the earth refers to the figure extracted physically or mathematically from the
true surface of the earth (Moritz 1990). This includes the geoid and the reference ellipsoid along with
the normal ellipsoid. While the geoid can be interpreted as the physical figure of the earth, the
reference ellipsoid can be considered as the mathematical figure of the earth, and the normal ellipsoid
can be considered as the mathematical and physical figure of the earth. However, the reference
ellipsoid and the normal ellipsoid are a close approximation of the geoid. Hence, the figure of the
earth studied in geodesy mainly refers to the figure of the geoid (Lu et al. 2014).
Geoid is defined as an equipotential surface of the earth s gravity potential, where the mean surface of
the oceans particularly forms a part (Hofmann Wellenhof and Moritz 2005). On oceans, the geoid
agrees with the mean sea surface, more precisely, with a calm ocean surface subjected only to the
force of gravity, which is assumed

Roman Skepticism
Skepticism
Skepticism is the Western philosophical tradition that maintains that human beings can never arrive at
any kind of certain knowledge. Originating in Greece in the middle of the fourth century BC,
skepticism and its derivatives are based on the following principles:
There is no such thing as certainty in human knowledge.
All human knowledge is only probably true, that is, true most of the time, or not true.
Several non Western cultures have skeptical traditions, particularly Buddhist philosophy, but properly
speaking, skepticism refers only to a Greek philosophical tradition and its Greek, Roman, and
European derivatives.
The school of Skeptic philosophers were called the Skeptikoi in Greece. The word is ... Show more

While Socrates never claimed that knowledge is impossible, still, at his death, he never claimed to
have discovered any piece of knowledge whatsoever.
After its introduction into Greek culture at the end of the fourth century BC, skepticism influenced
nearly all other Greek philosophies. Both Hellenistic and Roman philosophies took it as a given that
certain knowledge was impossible; the focus of Greek and Roman philosophy, then, turned to
probable knowledge, that is, knowledge that is true most of the time.
Christianity, however, introduced a dilemma into Greek and Roman philosophies that were primarily
based on skeptical principles. In many ways, the philosophy of Christianity, which insisted on an
absolute knowledge of the divine and of ethics, did not fit the Greek and Roman skeptical emphasis on
probable knowledge. Paul of Tarsus, one of the original founders of Christianity, answered this
question simply: the knowledge of the Romans and Greeks, that is, human knowledge, is the
knowledge of fools. Knowledge that rejects human reasoning, which, after all, leads to skepticism, is
the knowledge of the wise. Christianity at its inception, then, had a strong anti rational perspective.
This did not, however, make the skeptical problem go away. Much of the history of early Christian
philosophy is an attempt to paste Greek and Roman philosophical methods and questions onto

The White Tiger
In the novel The White Tiger , the writer utilizes the Murder Weekly magazine to draw the line
between perception and reality in this Indian society. The narrator depicts that all drivers and cooks in
Delhi read this magazine and as much as they would love to, they are unable to slit their masters
necks. Aravind Adiga utilizes this magazine as a source of outlet to showcase the harsh reality these
workers live in. They are used and abused to the point that rather than having perceived dreams of
taking the weekend off, they mesmorate over the thought of killing their masters to be free; a harsh
perception contrasted to a harsh reality. Furthermore, this dreamland perception is emphasised when it
is expressed that this weekly magazine usually ends with the murderer hanging himself. This again
provides exposure to the harsh reality, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A prime example is when a young boy approaches Balram while driving and asks if he wants to
purchase an statue from him. The writer purposefully does this to denote that this character would fill
the role of a scavenger. This boy is going car to car looking for scraps of money to collect for his
buddha figure. This mirrors scavenger type animals as they take what they can, where they can to
survive. Additionally, this biome hierarchy is further emphasised when later in the novel, Balram, his
master, and Pinky run over a kid and just speed away. Adiga purposefully makes them to this to show
the connections they have to predators. These rich people are the kings of the jungle and no animal
dare to trample in their path. Just as this child quite literally trampled in their path, he was quickly ran
over and killed without any sympathy from the predators. Ultimately, Aravind s proficient use of
actions conveys to the reader the horrific biological hierarchy that is their

5 Different Types of Dental Cements
There are five different types of cement in the dental field each is versatile in their properties, uses,
and mixing techniques. Many were traditionally used for routine cementation through the nineteen
ninety s and since have been replaced by newer makeup and mixing techniques. The selection of
cement for a specific procedure requires knowledge of the chemical and physical properties of each
particular cement for the specific restorative process to be performed. This first cement I m going to
discuss is Glass Ionomer Cement. Glass ionomer cement is one of the most versatile types of cement
in the dental field. This is a hybrid type of silicate and polycarboxylate cements. This adheres to the
enamel, dentin, and metallic materials. They ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was originally polyacrylic acid and has changed over to polyalkenoate cement. This had been used
for permanent cement for cast restorations, stainless steel crowns, and orthodontic bands. This
maintains its versatility as a nonirritating base under composite and amalgam restorations and
intermediate restoration. The chemical makeup for polycarboxylate cement comes in a liquid made up
of polyacrylic acid, itaconic acid, maleic acid, tartaric acid and water, while the powder is made up of
zinc oxide, magnesium oxide, aluminum oxide, and different reinforcing fillers. When mixed
accordingly, it is similar to zinc phosphate cement in terms of solubility and tensile strength. The pH
increases rapidly as the material sets, and 24 hours later, it causes it to become similar to zinc
phosphate, but is less irritating to the pulp. It is supplied in a squeeze bottle or calibrated syringe type
liquid dispenser, which can be mixed on a nonabsorbent paper pad or a cool, dry glass slab.. The fifth
and final I m going to discuss is Zinc Phosphate Cement. This cement is one of the oldest types of
dental cements in use and is classified as Type I (fine grain) and Type II (medium grain). Type I is
used in permanent cementations such as bridges, crowns, onlays, and inlays. Type II is recommended
for the use of insulation of the base for deep cavity preparations. Zinc phosphate comes in a liquid
made up of 50% zinc phosphoric

A Comparative Analysis of the Characters of King Lear and...
Kurosawa and Shakespeare Introduction: The greatest narratives in human history don t just resurface
in critical analysis but are also given new life when channeled through modern media. This is well
exemplified by legendary Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa s 1985 epic, Ran. The highly regarded
and high budgeted film, based on William Shakespeare s 1606 play King Lear, demonstrates the
power retained by the original play even when dramatically recontextualized. Indeed, in a comparative
discussion of King Lear and Hidetora, his counterpart in the Kurosawa film, we are confronted with
the universal themes of power, mortality, vanity and insanity. These are the themes that connect not
just both pieces but the otherwise vastly historical periods and cultures represented within. Compare:
The strongest point of comparison between the two characters in question is their mutual descent into
mental instability and the degree to which this influences their behavior. Indeed, the common ground
in the two stories is at the outset, when an ailing ruler is manipulated into divided his kingdom
amongst his children. This division of territories, an event stimulated by individual vanity and
infirmity, would have consequences kingdom wide. The unraveling of civility and familial bonds
which would occur thereafter is common to both tellings. Contrast: Perhaps the most important
conceptual difference between the fading monarch presented in either story is the degree to which

Essay on Holden in The Catcher in The Rye
The author has put in plenty of themes, messages, ideas, issues, and motifs. The character, Holden
Caulfield is alienated from society, is experiencing the painfulness of growing up, thinks that the adult
world is full of phoniness, and is sick of hearing about the American Dream from his teachers. JD
Salinger has created a book that has raised plenty of questions and controversy towards the readers.
The Catcher in the Rye shows how a teenage mind works. JD Salinger has used a stream of
consciousness writing style where the character (Holden Caulfield) talks in first person as he presents
his thoughts and feelings to the readers. The setting has taken place in the early fifties and the book
uses a lot of profane words. The New York ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That s all I do all day. I d just be the catcher in the rye and all. I know it s crazy, but that s the only
thing I d really like to be.
As Holden enters the Museum of National History, his fears change into difficulty. He likes everything
easily understandable. He is afraid to admit fear but only admits it in a few instances such as Sex is
something I just don t understand. I swear to God I don t. Instead of facing adulthood, he traps himself
in his own little childhood world thinking about his dream job, catching little kids that are about to fall
off a rye cliff.
Caulfield s loneliness is probably one of the main motifs all throughout the novel. I felt like jumping
out the window. I probably would ve, too, if I d been sure somebody d cover me up as soon as I
landed. I didn t want a bunch of stupid rubbernecks looking at me when I was all gory. As he narrates
his time in New York, it shows the readers how he looks for someone that understands him. In some
ways, it shows that it is his source of pain and his security. Relationships, intimacy, and sexuality are
some of the things he fears the most from the adult world. Sex is something I really don t understand
too hot. You never know where the hell you are. I keep making up these sex rules for myself, and then
I break them right away. Last year I

Imagination; a Human s Special Sence Essay

Imagination: A Human s Special Sense
Human beings have the ability to create their own individual worlds through imagination. However,
the imagination is limited because of the constant use of technology and the reliance on vision. The
technological culture has separated humans from the actual world and their senses; much like vision
has done. In the essay The Eyes of the Skin: Architecture and the Senses , Juhani Pallasmaa focuses
on the exploration of the senses and how they interact with one another. We also see his discussion on
how vision can affect the human experience. The more visually capable we are, the more we begin to
lose our sense of imagination. Similarly in the essay ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We see that our imagination comes into play when our vision is obscured. Without the sense of vision,
our other senses quickly assume richness and power. This occurs to blind people such as Hull, who at
the age of forty eight became completely blind. Sacks states that Hull speaks of how the sound of the
rain, never before accorded much attention, can now delineate a whole landscape for him...it throws a
coloured blanket over previously invisible things (304). In other words, we see that Sacks is showing
us how strong Hull s imagination was after becoming blind. Just because Hull became blind, it did not
mean that Hull s life was over. On the other hand, it was a new beginning for Hull. He was able to
make use of his other senses and see how important they are. With Hull s imagination also came a
sense of intimacy with his surroundings. He felt as though with his strong visual imagery, he had a
strong sense of closeness, which evolves from imagining. The term delineate has a significant
meaning in Sack s text because imagination is what led Hull to be able to portray the images precisely
in his mind. Similarly, Pallasmaa states, anyone who has half woken up to the sound of a train or an
ambulance in a nocturnal city, and though his/her sleep experienced the space of the city with its
countless inhabitants scattered within its structures, knows the

  • 2. What Is The Mood Of She Walks In Beauty In literature, authors use different stylistic elements to establish their viewpoints on a variety of topics without directly stating it. Or, they can state it and give descriptive details about their viewpoint. Lord Byron does this in his poem She Walks In Beauty . Through the uses of details, diction, and language, Byron is able to create a passionate tone throughout the poem when describing the beauty of the woman. The beginning of the poem uses a great deal of romantic details to put emphasis on the beauty of the woman that is described in Byron s poem. The details used by Byron focuses on the physical features of the woman that make her strikingly beautiful and stand out to him. For instance, to put emphasis on the beauty of the woman, he compares her to the night of cloudless climes and starry skies (2 Byron). In addition, he also describes her raven tress or her hair in other words, and how gracefully it moves and how it s one of the characteristics that make her beautiful. Moreover, Byron claims that the woman is perfect to him ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Focusing on visual appeal, he uses personification towards her face and sweet thoughts. (11/12 byron) The beauty of her facial expression show how serenely sweet her thoughts are. In other words, the innocence and purity of the woman is another trait that makes her beautiful. He also directs the reader s attention on the way her hair or her raven tress and the way it suits her face perfectly in the speaker s view. Gigi Hadid had an average score of 8.7 and was also the highest scoring celebrity based on proximity to the golden ratio; Hadid scored a 9.5. A score of 10 would represent near perfection/perfection to the golden ratio, Hadid s closeness is a biostatistical phenomenon. The majority of other celebrities tested in the experiment tended to have higher average rates of attractiveness when they were most approximate to the ratio and vice versa. The lowest scoring celebrity for attractiveness and golden ratio proximity was Kanye West. West scored a 5.55 (attractiveness) and 5 (proximity). A corrective measure for altered photos, would be to use the most natural looking pictures in which minimal or no makeup is worn as well as using before picture of a published photo ( before relating to the image before photoshop). The only fix a differing perception of beauty based on aesthetic surgery is to used photos of celebrities who have not had plastic surgery. This can be determined by research or news interviews with the celebrity regarding plastic surgery or facial features they have aesthetically altered. The focus group, the 50 individuals rating the attractiveness of celebrities, biasedly rating individuals is difficult to prevent. The individuals rating the celebrities could be constantly reminded to base rates primarily on attractiveness and by asking a varying group of people to rate the individuals to get the opinion of a mock society. However, a more accurate solution to this problem would be to have surveyors rate photos of random individuals that they have more than likely never had exposure to or contact with. This would ensure that bias does not get in the way of collecting an accurate average rate of attractiveness. Incorrect measurements ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Block Booking System, Admission Price Discrimination, And... The Code established trade practices consisting of the block booking system, admission price discrimination, and the formation of clearance and zoning boards. Block booking was a practice in which motion picture companies would sell their movies in blocks in a package deal to the exhibitors. Even though exhibitors were given information about the films they were licensing like who starred in it, what it was about, etc. the films were licensed without viewing the movie at the time of contracting (Klein, 2000, p. 431), which meant that the movie studios could even profit off of bad productions as these blocks were sold as a bulk all or nothing deal. This meant that if the exhibitors wanted one movie out of the entire block, they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The only viable way to make profits was to rely on the novelty of an early run of a new release to attract audiences. The problem with such a reliance was that runs in theaters were regulated by the Clearance and Zoning boards, which were set up as another practice under the Code in an attempt to organize distribution of films in the nation. It arranged theaters in different regions on the marketing pattern of zoning, clearance and run. The country was divided into thirty markets, compartmentalized into zones, and classified by runs that would range from fourteen days to forty two days or more with a potential of running for more than a year in large markets (Schuchman, Balio, 1994). This practice gave the Board, which was dominated by the Big 5, the power to control which movie would play when and where. This was specifically important as movies that were already viewed by the potential audience, would not draw in the same patronage as it would in the first run. Consequently whoever got the right to show the movie first would stand to make the most profit. It was very obvious that this would be a potential source of discrimination against independent exhibitors as the Big 5 would favor their own exhibition houses over that of independent exhibitors. With all three practices, it was clear that the intention was to increase profits. Survival of businesses was very precarious as many ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Fire that Changed America The Cold War was a new conflict that began to rise after the horrific and globally destructive World War II in the mid 20th century between two powerful countries, the democratic United States of America and the communist government of the Soviet Union. Both countries highlighted its superiority through a thriving threat of nuclear weapons and wide ranging espionage and counter espionage between the two countries. In the 1950 s, space became the platform for the competition of supremacy to validate each country s dominance in innovative technology, military firepower, and political economic system. Space was seen by David Beers, in the book Blue Sky Dream: A memoir of America s Fall from Grace, as the next frontier which was a logical extension of the grand American tradition of exploration. The rise of the aerospace industry became the icon of national reputation and a dream for the blue sky tribe, who benefitted from the space race, which then later on led to disappointment and betrayal in the 1990s. The space race begun in 1957 with the launch of Sputnik by the Soviet Union. In addition, the United States aerospace innovation was considerably prompted by the government s steady upward ratcheting of requirements for the acceleration, efficiency, and performance based on speedily evolving project requirements. Fifteen thousand workers had arrived on the outskirts on (the city of) Sacramento (pg.55) in California due to the rising aerospace industry. David Beers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Essay on Prejudice and Racism in The Adventures of... Prejudice and Racism in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, by Mark Twain, is an excellent example of racism in literature, because it uses language describing African Americans which goes beyond satire. It treats them as objects and perpetuates stereotypes. It does not expose and deal with racism, as many advocates of its reading claim, but encourages an attitude of superiority that is unnecessary and intolerable. In order to rid ourselves from this racism, African American literature should be read more often in classrooms throughout the United States. Anything less will simply perpetuate racism. He is a black man trying to find a new home, and buy back his family. He believes in a wealth of superstitions and religious taboos which the white reader often laughs at. • 8. Control of Virtual Networks Spanning Multiple... 6.2 Virtual network ID, Virtual link ID: In order to control virtual networks spanning multiple infrastructure domains, the virtual networks must be identified by a virtual network ID. Additionally the virtual links are also needed to be identified which can be done by using virtual link ID. One of the solution would consist of simply mapping the virtual link ID to whatever data link layer specific tag is in use. A number of available link virtualization techniques such as ATM, Ethernet VLAN could be used for this purpose. This Virtual link ID can be used for both virtual link identifier and a tag for data forwarding. 12 Scalability is a major requirement for virtual networks. For this reason, virtual link aggregation will constitute an important requirement for network virtualization. Virtual link aggregation can be defined as a set of virtual links that follow a common path and are similarly treated between a pair of virtual nodes. It can be performed by carrying at least two types of identifiers in the data plane, one for virtual network identification and another for hop by hop forwarding. Hence, virtual link aggregation enhances scalability and also improves performance. 7. • 9. Overpopulation can be described as the failure of the... Overpopulation can be described as the failure of the world s resources to sustain the population. The limited natural resources have increased challenges for countries facing this. This paper covers the effects of overpopulation in the world today. The current world s population is approximately six billion people, and the amount of time that it takes for the population to increase by another billion is decreasing with each billion. It is estimated that they will be about eight billion people by the year 2020, and this is due to its continuation of growth (Southwick 159). An understanding of the causes and what might possibly happen is the first step to dealing with the population crisis. The world s human population has been growing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This results in a high level of crime because the people will do anything to survive. (Dolan 55) Overpopulation does not just affect the standard of living, but also the environment. Every person on the planet takes up space, but space is needed for farmland and forests. People excrete wastes and pollution that flow into water systems and animal habitats. Resulting in polluted water and killing of the wildlife. Many people cannot do personal hygiene every day because of the status of the water in their country. The major negative effect is the limited and scarce natural resources. Main resources such as: water, land and energy among others scarce or diminished. Populations have become so large that they re draining the resources where there is no sufficient supply for the needs for all. As a result, this has led to depletion of resources, and extinction of species and forestry. (Simonetta 2009). Most ecologists consider human population growth to be one of the most serious problems contributing to environmental scarceness. Human population growth works in combination with excessive consumption to threaten global environmentally. (Southwick 160). It has been disputed that having a larger world population leads to an increase in human capital, will lead to an increase in the world s standard of living. • 10. Analysis OfOur Oceans Are Turning Into Plastic, Are You,... Plastic isn t known to be a substance made for consumption, but you may be eating it every day. In Our Oceans Are Turning into Plastic...Are You? the author Susan Casey is informing us how bad plastic is polluting our oceans. Susan Casey is the author of a New York Times best seller, The Devils Teeth , helped publish Into Thin Air and The Perfect Storm, and is the editor and chief of Oprah Winfrey s Magazine O . She argues that these pollutants are doing damage in multiple facets, such as affecting food chains, disrupts organism reproduction, and directly cause the things we consume to be harmful to us. The author found many creative ways to appeal to all three persuasive appeals which are Logos, Pathos, and Ethos. Although the article was great at the end she added things that weren t needed and seemed to just be there as filler. To set up the stage for her credibility she tells a short story of the person who she gets most of her information from. The person s name is Charles Moore he was a boat captain who decided to take a different route that he usually takes, and he found a huge area of circling garbage in the ocean and this led to him changing occupations and creating Marine Research Foundation. She further explains his credentials and those who work for his foundations credibility. Her extensive explanation of Moore and what people who work for him is an effective form of Ethos. Although the beginning may seem long and stretched out longer than it had to be its not, she had to approach this topic this way because she is an accomplished writer but not in this field so she with this specific topic isn t a credible source, so she found one. Along with Ethos she threw both Pathos and Logos back to back when she tells us how seeing dead birds wash ashore is more prevalent than is used to be, discussing pictures of our trash cutting up animals, then showing a picture of a turtle who is deformed because of a plastic ring. After this she has a chart that shows how much plastic production has increased over the years and another one that shows only 3% of plastic is recycled. That was an effective choice of timing and placement because most people when they see graphs they don t even try to read them but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. The Christian Doctrine Of The Trinity Outline the development of the Christian doctrine of the Trinity from the New Testament Church to the Nicene Creed. I will like to crave your indulgence to the fact that Nicene concept of Trinity is never stated in the Bible, and it is that early Christians as well as the scriptures clearly points out the fact that Jesus was fully divine and pre existent. For the fact that, none of the early Christian theologians fully asserted the doctrine of the Trinity, not even a speculation about the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. According to the father of the paganism description of Trinity God can in no way be described. (Schindler 148). In the 4th century there are different schools of thought that were developed in Antioch, were they try to literarily interpret the Scriptures with a great deal of emphasis on the historical context of Trinity. Arius who is also known as Nicene, came up with the Nicene Creed by arguing the fact that Jesus was not God, and the Father by itself is true God. Base on the fact that God created Jesus, Arius was able to support his argument with the books of (Proverbs 8:22 and John 14:28) the Father is greater than I as a proof. On the other hand, a number of philosophy was able to argue that Christ was homoousios (same or one substance) in a way to debunk Nicene Creed by describing the relationship that exist between the father and Son, by stating the fact that Jesus is God that come to earth as a man which is also the Father. • 12. Reaction Paper On Pre-Interaction Pre Interaction: What information are you seeking to gain from this interaction? During this interaction, I am hoping to gain information about various topics on campus. The following topics include: Public Safety, lack of trash cans, how to get commuter students more involved, and how can we improve the GCU experience for commuter students. The reason, I bought up discussing about Public Safety, is that commuter students are the ones who constantly are walking to and from the Halo and 29th Avenue garages and I just want to see if there has been any issues. The reason, I plan on discussing the lack of trash cans, is that it was bought up to my attention during a previous interaction that there were not trash cans by the popular areas like the student union and the Engineering classrooms. Also, this individual was concern that there is a lack of trash cans by the commuter lounge. The third question, I wanted to focus on how we could get more commuter students to our events. Lastly, I want every commuter student to feel like they have a great college experience that is why I am asking how we can make their experience at GCU better. Please list the questions that you plan to ask students below: Do you feel safe when coming on and off campus? How you experience any issues? Do you feel there is a lack of trash cans near popular areas like the Student Union and the Engineering building? How can we get more commuter students involved on campus? How can we improve your GCU experience? Notes: Post Interaction: What were the main concerns and issues raised by students? The main concerns and issues raised by students were that they do not feel like they know about various events on campus. Most students felt that there should be an email that goes out with all the events that week on it. Another issue was they feel like that they need to have more events in the afternoon early evening, so they can attend. They feel like they will not come back to campus unless it is a really big event. Another issue that was addressed was installing a left turn signal by the Halo garage. What Happens During A Preliminary Hearing In Federal Court A criminal prosecution usually begins with an arraignment: A preliminary hearing (aka a prelim, a probable cause hearing, PX and a preliminary examination) is very similar to an arraignment, but it provides the defendant a greater opportunity for counter argument. In essence, a preliminary hearing is a trial before the trial. It is during the preliminary hearing that the judge or magistrate decides whether there is enough evidence for the accused to stand trial. When making his or her determination, the judge/magistrate uses what is referred to as the probable cause legal standard. This standard helps him or her decide whether the prosecution has produced a sufficient amount of evidence to convince a jury of the defendant s guilt. What is the Legal Standard of Probable Cause? Gadamer s Analysis Gadamer s hermenutics is a continuation of the hermenutics of Heidegger, Gadamer held that contemplation is the opposite to experience and reflection and we can only reach the truth by understanding our experience. To unfold the nature of individual understanding is vital. He criticised Dilthey in his book Truth and Method (1975) where he claims that he is limited by his insistence of a totality of meaning , his aim was to uncover the nature of human understanding. Gadamer s thoughts suggest that every heremeneutic act is already structred by coscious and unconscious Vorurteile (preconceptions) that determine the way in which an object is seen. He also does not give any precedence to communal experience over individual, when forming his version of shared history, this emphasises that Dilthey s objectivity is one that is made up of all persons s lived experiences and not just those of a singled out individual. The interesting part about Socrates definition is that it hinges on knowledge. Socrates would not call a child who is deathly afraid of heights yet still climbs a stable platform courageous. By Socrates definition of courage, one must understand what is worthy of apprehension this understanding is gained through wisdom. Socrates attributes courage to the component of the human being he labels the spirit, but he links courage to wisdom. When the spirit preserves through pains and pleasures the pronouncements of reason about what should inspire terror and what should not, the individual would be deemed courageous (442b13 c3). It is important to note that those pronouncements stem from wisdom without the wisdom to correctly judge things as worthy of terror or not, courage is impossible. The kind of wisdom Socrates associates with courage knows what things should be feared and what things should be faced with confidence. Jumping in front of a train to save somebody can wisely be faced with confidence because the cause is just. The emphasis is on what the person risks compared to what that person is aiming at, what is more noble. The wisdom and knowledge associated with wisdom are oriented about that comparison. Socrates states it is imperative that one s correct beliefs of what should and should not inspire terror must be unwavering unaffected by pleasures, pains, appetites, or fears (429c12 13). James IV proved to be a better king and avoided the mistakes his father made when he was the king. He was able to display the great aspects and morals of a true king and implemented a balance between being militaristic and giving attention to the arts and law during his reign. The essay will also cover the non militaristic side of his reign looking at the renaissance aspect and his involvement with government. One reason to support the idea the reign of James IV can characterised as militaristic is his involvement and method of engagement with the lord of isles at his weakest point during lordship. In his early reign the lord of the isles John McDonald had taken claim of the western isles as his territory. The lord of the isles had been problematic for monarchs before James. To deem human trafficking illegal, the Mann Act became a federal statute in 1910 to stop the interstate trafficking for women (Mann Act, n.d.). A woman who has been trafficked for a long period of time can make it easier for the trafficker to use her when engaging in commercial sex. Women can be forced into prostitution in a number of ways. Normally, the women would gain trust in the trafficker in exchange for a better life. On the other hand, the women would think that her and the pimp or trafficker is going to run a legitimate business that would benefit the both of them (Prostitution: frequently asked questions). The Science Of Determination The Figure Of The Earth CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION 1.1 Research Background: Geodesy is considered, according to Bruns (1878) and Helmert (1884), as the science of determination the figure of the earth as well as its gravitational field. This covers the basic general form of the earth as a flattened rotational ellipsoid and the visible topographic surface resulted from gravitational attraction of uneven inner masses. Thus, physical and geometric aspects are inseparably correlated (Moritz 2015). In geodesy, the figure of the earth refers to the figure extracted physically or mathematically from the true surface of the earth (Moritz 1990). This includes the geoid and the reference ellipsoid along with the normal ellipsoid. While the geoid can be interpreted as the physical figure of the earth, the reference ellipsoid can be considered as the mathematical figure of the earth, and the normal ellipsoid can be considered as the mathematical and physical figure of the earth. However, the reference ellipsoid and the normal ellipsoid are a close approximation of the geoid. Hence, the figure of the earth studied in geodesy mainly refers to the figure of the geoid (Lu et al. 2014). Geoid is defined as an equipotential surface of the earth s gravity potential, where the mean surface of the oceans particularly forms a part (Hofmann Wellenhof and Moritz 2005). On oceans, the geoid agrees with the mean sea surface, more precisely, with a calm ocean surface subjected only to the force of gravity, which is assumed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While Socrates never claimed that knowledge is impossible, still, at his death, he never claimed to have discovered any piece of knowledge whatsoever. After its introduction into Greek culture at the end of the fourth century BC, skepticism influenced nearly all other Greek philosophies. Both Hellenistic and Roman philosophies took it as a given that certain knowledge was impossible; the focus of Greek and Roman philosophy, then, turned to probable knowledge, that is, knowledge that is true most of the time. Christianity, however, introduced a dilemma into Greek and Roman philosophies that were primarily based on skeptical principles. In many ways, the philosophy of Christianity, which insisted on an absolute knowledge of the divine and of ethics, did not fit the Greek and Roman skeptical emphasis on probable knowledge. Paul of Tarsus, one of the original founders of Christianity, answered this question simply: the knowledge of the Romans and Greeks, that is, human knowledge, is the knowledge of fools. Knowledge that rejects human reasoning, which, after all, leads to skepticism, is the knowledge of the wise. Christianity at its inception, then, had a strong anti rational perspective. • 33. A Comparative Analysis of the Characters of King Lear and... Kurosawa and Shakespeare Introduction: The greatest narratives in human history don t just resurface in critical analysis but are also given new life when channeled through modern media. This is well exemplified by legendary Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa s 1985 epic, Ran. The highly regarded and high budgeted film, based on William Shakespeare s 1606 play King Lear, demonstrates the power retained by the original play even when dramatically recontextualized. Indeed, in a comparative discussion of King Lear and Hidetora, his counterpart in the Kurosawa film, we are confronted with the universal themes of power, mortality, vanity and insanity. These are the themes that connect not just both pieces but the otherwise vastly historical periods and cultures represented within. Compare: The strongest point of comparison between the two characters in question is their mutual descent into mental instability and the degree to which this influences their behavior. Indeed, the common ground in the two stories is at the outset, when an ailing ruler is manipulated into divided his kingdom amongst his children. This division of territories, an event stimulated by individual vanity and infirmity, would have consequences kingdom wide. The unraveling of civility and familial bonds which would occur thereafter is common to both tellings. JD Salinger has created a book that has raised plenty of questions and controversy towards the readers. The Catcher in the Rye shows how a teenage mind works. I d just be the catcher in the rye and all. I know it s crazy, but that s the only thing I d really like to be. As Holden enters the Museum of National History, his fears change into difficulty. He likes everything easily understandable. He is afraid to admit fear but only admits it in a few instances such as Sex is something I just don t understand. I swear to God I don t. Instead of facing adulthood, he traps himself in his own little childhood world thinking about his dream job, catching little kids that are about to fall off a rye cliff. Caulfield s loneliness is probably one of the main motifs all throughout the novel. I felt like jumping out the window. I probably would ve, too, if I d been sure somebody d cover me up as soon as I landed. I didn t want a bunch of stupid rubbernecks looking at me when I was all gory. • 35. Imagination; a Human s Special Sence Essay Daimaly Gines 10/25/12 FD #3 Expos, Section Imagination: A Human s Special Sense Human beings have the ability to create their own individual worlds through imagination. This occurs to blind people such as Hull, who at the age of forty eight became completely blind. Sacks states that Hull speaks of how the sound of the rain, never before accorded much attention, can now delineate a whole landscape for him...it throws a coloured blanket over previously invisible things (304). In other words, we see that Sacks is showing us how strong Hull s imagination was after becoming blind. Just because Hull became blind, it did not mean that Hull s life was over. On the other hand, it was a new beginning for Hull. He was able to make use of his other senses and see how important they are. With Hull s imagination also came a sense of intimacy with his surroundings. He felt as though with his strong visual imagery, he had a strong sense of closeness, which evolves from imagining. The term delineate has a significant meaning in Sack s text because imagination is what led Hull to be able to portray the images precisely in his mind. Similarly, Pallasmaa states, anyone who has half woken up to the sound of a train or an ambulance in a nocturnal city, and though his/her sleep experienced the space of the city with its countless inhabitants scattered within its structures, knows the ...
