Essay On Why I Was A Liberal Democrat
Upon taking my political party quizzes, it was evident that I was a liberal Democrat. This didn t come
to me as a surprise as my political leanings and viewpoints on social issues have already been quite
liberal. I believe that healthcare is a human right and everyone should be protected, no matter their
income level or employment status. After all, what good is a community if an individual is all on their
own? After doing some research, I found out that District 117 in the House of Representatives has
been heavily Democratic for years now. It has been served by Philip Cortez for two years now and is
located in South San Antonio in Bexar County. The population is heavily Hispanic plus Black, and the
median income is considerably low, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another issue that stands out to me is that half the population, 51.7% is consisted of single parent
households with the female being the head of the household. This bothers me because there aren t any
programs or benefits for them which can help them make living easier, such as affordable child care or
government programs that provide them financial benefits. If elected, I promise to introduce support
programs for women where they can feel appreciated for their hard work and some place where they
don t feel like they are alone. I also promise to work with public schools to create cheap and beneficial
after school programs where children can have a nurturing environment and complete their homework
for the day, easing the burden on their mothers when they come back from work. After all, Sara
McLanahan from The American Prospect writes that Some people claimed that growing up in a
fatherless home was the major cause of child poverty, delinquency, and school failure and they are
twice as likely to drop out of high school, 2.5 times as likely to become teen mothers, and 1.4 times as
likely to be idle out of school and out of work as children who grow up with both parents (McLanahan
1 2). Therefore, I promise to give children all the support they need, including education support,
financial support like giving them a wide array of job opportunities, and creating programs where they

Polygamy And Marriage In Chad
Polygamy is legal and completely common in Chad. Our Africa lists on their website: It is common in
Chad for men to have more than one wife and large extended families of wives, children and other
close relatives are the norm. ( People Culture. ). If I came from an extended family living in Chad, I
would definitely not be getting the nutrition I need. Sure, there are more people in the family, bringing
in a larger income as a whole, but there is also more people and children to be fed and income in Chad
is nowhere near the amount of an average income in the U.S. Many young girls in Chad are married
before they turn eighteen, mostly to older men. These older men probably already have many other
wives as well as several children. I do not think as a wife in Chad you would feel as loved and
cherished by your husband who is sharing his love with other women. This is a supportive reason as to
why many girls do not finish school to get an education. Living in the United States, society has
shown us to frown upon young marriages and pregnancies, which I do, but in Chad that is their culture
and the norm for them. With my life here, I would never even begin to think about getting married
when I am twenty years old, let alone younger than eighteen! The main reason for this is because I
would still be in high school, then hopefully college, followed by a stable job and income so now I
would be able to afford a wedding and family. To become a wife in Chad is much

Assault In David Lurie s Disgrace
In Disgrace, two instances of sexual assault occur, albeit the outcomes of these assaults could not
contrast more. After the first, the novel s protagonist, David Lurie, finds himself in the middle of a
well publicized scandal due to his unconventional relations with a student; after the second, Lurie is
indirectly affected by the rape, as it is his daughter, Lucy, who is the victim of the despicable crime,
and never receives justice. Lurie was not ashamed of his actions previous to his daughter s rape, but
after she is assaulted, he sees the situation in an entirely new light, as it is his own child being violated
by men. However, he and Lucy have completely different beliefs on how the matter should be
handled. Although he is familiar with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He repeatedly insists that Lucy press charges against her attackers while she maintains her defence of
saying he wasn t there, and you don t know what happened (134). With Lurie continuing to bombard
her with commands to inform the authorities, Lucy finally offers an explanation for not wanting to go
to the police: ʻWhat if this is the price one has to pay for staying on? ... They see me as owing
something. They see themselves as debt collectors, tax collectors. Why should I be allowed to live
here without paying? Perhaps that is what they tell themselves (158). As suggested by Barnard, Lucy
is accept[ing] her fate as a symbol of the redistribution of power in post apartheid Africa and sees her
rapists as gathering apartheid debts , as her attackers were black (Barnard 74). Lucy also says that her
decision to stay silent is Freedom of speech. Freedom to remain silent (Coetzee 188). With this
reasoning, she is silencing herself as a rape victim and accepting the consequences of the attack by
deciding to keep one of the attackers children she becomes pregnant with , in addition to marry her
black neighbour

Statistical Hypothesis Testing and Key Performance Indicators
Executive summary
The following report aims to analyse and interpret the data set of 200 records regarding the CCResort.
The given information includes booking identification number, income, number of people per
booking, length of stay, age and overall expenditure.
From the booking ID it can be assumed that the selection of data is random, however as it is only
partial information and not the population, the period of time in which the data is selected from would
affect the end results of analysis.
The report is divided into two sections outlining the statistical analysis of data and hypothesis testing
to observe if CCResort have met their 2 major key performance indicators (KPIs)
1 More than 40% of their customers stay for a full ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the data it can be established that younger groups are not the target market of the business.
Further analysis of the histogram and the skewness of the data shows that the customers age
distribution is positively skewed, from which we can conclude that CCResort is visited by families
and in general those in the older age groups.
4. Number of people per booking
The number of people per booking of the sample data is analysed with the following statistical
indicators:
Mean 3.51
Median 4
Mode 4
Range 4
Standard Deviation 1.314741
Variance 1.728543
Skewness 0.333199
The analysis gives the business a general understanding of which type of customers, in groups or as
families, it is attracting. From the table above, the average number of people per booking is 3.51 while
the mode and median is 4 which suggest that the resort mainly attracts families usually with 1 to 2
children.
Further examination of the data through the histogram as shown below showing that 69 out of the 200
bookings studied, that is 34.5% of the data is made out of 4 people groups. Moreover, a total of 33.5%
(67 bookings) of the bookings are made for 2 people which gave an indication that the resort is also
popular with couples. In comparing the data set with the age distribution of the customer base, it can
be argued that the CCResort mainly attracts families with children as well as couples with no children

The Time of Change
The Time of Change
You can t tax business. Business doesn t pay taxes. It collects taxes. by Ronald Reagan. This quote
really stands out because in this time period there are high taxes. Taxes were one of the big problems
in the progressive era. There were extremely high tariffs and the percentage was different in other
parts in the U.S. During the late 1800s and early 1900s there were reforms done Economically and
Socially . Economically, There were lots of Acts published by Woodrow Wilson talking about how the
consumers pay way too much for taxes. The Underwood Tariff Act of 1913 decreased the tax by ten
percent. Woodrow Wilson then enforces tariffs because he wanted to win the election and people liked
him because he was going to do something that the citizens would like. Socially, there were
progressives who didn t like how them and there peers were being treated because it was disgusting
and filled with filth. There air was polluted and there were diseases spreading every where.
Progressives paid and helped the citizens with their living conditions.
Socially, the U.S. in the 1890 1920s was a time for reform. Due to the slums, health, working wages
this motivated a man named Jacob Riis. He was a muckraker, that being said he would expose the
slums of New York City with horrible and disgusting photographs in newspapers and in meetings.
This attracted many citizens around the world. The images were so graphic that it hit many people.

Edward Gein Social Control Theory
She s not missing, she s at the farm right now. This haunting quote comes from the mouth of one of
the most grotesque and brutal serial killers to ever live, Edward Gein. Edward was born on August
27th 1906 to an abusive alcoholic father, George Gein and an overly religious mother, Augusta Carter.
Along with Edward, George and Augusta gave birth to Edwards older brother Henry in 1902. The
family settled down in the little town of Lacrosse, Wisconsin where Augusta raised the young boys.
For the most part, her husband George was left out of the picture mainly because Augusta believed he
was a worthless alcoholic. This paper will discuss the connection between Edward s crimes and social
control theory in order to arrive at a conclusion as to why Gein committed the brutal murders he did.
Before we dive into Gein s criminal history and early life we need to understand why social control
theories differ from most other criminological theories. Social control theories tend to dive deeper into
the realm of Why didn t someone offend opposed to why did someone offend. Most criminological
theories seek to explain how the need to conform to society affects criminal development ,but social
control theories center around the idea that there are multiple outside factors that encourage ... Show

Adoption Essay s Arguments Against Abortion
Is taking a life okay? People say that taking a life is wrong yet 125,000 abortions happen a day.
Although abortions are legal right now, it should be illegal.
First off, taking a life should not be a choice. In Arizona, killing a pregnant woman is a crime. The law
specifies that the defendant shall not be released until the completion of thirty years if the murdered
person was under fifteen years of age or was an unborn child (Fetus Homicide State Laws). This
proves the fetus had a life. When he/ she would have been born, he/ she would be equal to a child that
is out of the womb. Secondly, the baby feels pain. When the mother takes the pill to burn the baby, the
pill burns the baby. He/ she would either die from or get pulled out limb by limb from the womb. The
baby feels the pain of getting killed. He/ she opens his/ her mouth to cry, but no sound ... Show more

For example, people will ask, what is the woman was raped? the answer is to give the baby up for
adoption. The healing process begins with empowerment and regaining the control lost in an assault.
Victims of sexual assault must be able to reclaim control of their own bodies and lives (where we
stand). Giving the child up for adoption will be a choice that the victim made and will help her control
her life. Taking away the fetus life will just cause him/ her pain. The pain of rape is still there, bay or
not. Others will say that some people are not ready for kids. The answer is simple, do not have sex.
Unless the woman was raped, she should not surprise. Give the baby for adoption, some people cannot
have kids and they would want a baby. Lastly, the baby would be ill. Just because the child would
have a hard life, does not mean there parent should not let them experience the life in general. Parents
should give the best lives they can. It is better to feel loved and happy then to not feel anything. Life is
a blessing and should not be taken

The Problem Of Social Security
Social Security Benefits
The Problem Social Security Faces: The concept of the graying of America is becoming a more
pressing issue as the baby boomer population is coming of age to retire. Between years 2000 to 2010,
the number of Americans aged 65 and older increased a staggering 15.1 percent (35 million to 40.3
million) (Karger 2014, pg. 202). Demographics suggest that by 2050, the number of this age group
will increase to 88.5 million (Karger 2014, pg. 22). Not only is this population growing, but people are
living longer. The larger issue is having enough money to provide people benefits to sustain a decent
quality of life.

Social Security is a system in which people must insure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The benefit will be reduced by one half of one percent for each month a person decides to collect
Social Security benefits before their full retirement age. It is also possible to continue to work and
simultaneously receive retirement benefits. Benefits will not be reduced in the month a person reaches
full retirement age. However, benefits must be reduced if earnings exceed certain limits for the months
before full retirement age is reached (Social Security Administration 2016, pg. 5).
Funding and Distribution: Each worker in the United States pays taxes into Social Security. This
money is used presently for those who have already retired, disabled, survivors of workers who have
died, and dependents of those who received benefits (Social Security Administration 2016, pg. 7). The
money that a person pays in taxes is not put into a personal trust fund. The government uses the taxes
a worker pays to give benefits who are the current recipients. Any leftovers go to the general Social
Security trust fund, but not a personal account with a specific name on it (Social Security
Administration 2016, pg. 7). To visualize subsidies for retired workers, below the figure shows a
hypothetical benefits breakdown for workers retiring at age 65 in 1982 (Social Security
Administration 2016, pg. 8).

Erich Maria Remarque s All Quiet On The Western Front
Book Review of All Quiet on the Western Front Mankind must put an end to war before war puts an
end to mankind. During his address to the United Nations General Assembly in 1961, John F.
Kennedy explained how war was an unnecessary and detrimental action to take for means of peace.
This quote exhibits the true values of the protagonist in the novel All Quiet on the Western Front
written by Erich Maria Remarque. The novel All Quiet on the Western Front is a remarkable way to
immerse into the lives of German soldiers during World War One due to the fact the author had
firsthand experience in the life of the war. To put it briefly, All Quiet on the Western Front is
considered the greatest war novel of all time by many sources and critics from all over the world such
as Redakteur Stohr, the Manchester Guardian, Le Monde, the Swedish Academy, and the Saturday
Review. The novel centers on the protagonist, Paul Bäumer, and his encounters while he and his
classmates were enlisted in the German army during World War One. The novel introduces the many
of the main characters in chapter one when the regiment is in line at the cookhouse to get their evening
ration of food. Paul encounters his first experience with death early in the novel when one of his
classmates dies in army hospital after they amputated his leg. In chapter three, the novel ... Show more

Financial Disclosure Of A Company
In any business operations, full financial disclosure refers to the provision of the necessary
information about a company for better decision making by the people accustomed. It is the financial
revelation of a given company. There are some financial disclosures in any business that ensure proper
understanding of financial statements to the financial readers, or potential auditors. Examples are the
annual financial reports and the financial declarations of the company. The annual financial reports of
the enterprise are very useful since they discloses the revenues recognized in the business, and the
accountability of the inventories plus the income taxes accounted for during that period of operation.
Second, is the disclosure of this financial statements which gives the actual revelation of the company
s stock options, liabilities and the effects of foreign currencies?! This disclosure includes the company
s balance sheet of the year, income statements and also the cash statements flows of that year. This
information gives a proper understanding of the financial status users about the effects of inflation and
price change on property and inventories (Berger, 2011).
For the Verizon Communications disclosure on accounting policies, there is very clear information
about their financial reports. It clearly discloses its annual and quarterly financial reports which bring
a clear awareness of the business operations of the year, it also gives a stock information and also

Che Guevar A Visionary Leader In The Cuban Revolution
Che Guevara Words without deeds are worthless! When asked about Che Guevara the first thing that
is mentioned is the famous image of his face on t shirts worn by left leaning young adults, but did you
know he was a prominent figure in the Cuban Revolution? Guevara was both a visionary and ethical
leader because of his ability to lead the Cuban Revolution and because he cared about suffering. In
this paper we will review how Guevara was a visionary leader through his communication, continuous
engagement and willingness to put everything on the line. Second, we will examine how Guevara
applied ethical principles though reflective thinking and intellectual empathy in helping him make the
ethical decision to be a Revolutionary. Finally, I will reflect on how Guevara s visionary and ethical
leadership has influenced me to make changes to my leadership style. Guevara used his visionary and
ethical leadership traits to start a revolution across Latin America.
Visionary Leader Che Guevara displayed the characteristics of a true Visionary Leader throughout his
involvement with Fidel Castro s efforts to overthrow the Batista government in Cuba. As a military
advisor, he inspired and motivated guerilla troops in battles against Batista forces through both his
words and actions (History.com Staff, 2009). According to the Full Range Leadership chapter, this is
the definition of inspirational motivation. An example of this can found in the fierce and decisive
battle at Santa

The School Age Child Is Kept On The Heart Of A Child
The Young Child is constantly withheld from many of his desires by physical restrictions. We use
baby gates, fences, locks on doors and cabinets (restricted areas), cribs, playpens, leashes, and brief
commands ( NO! YES! ). We carefully watch the young child; monitoring what he sees, where he
goes, and with whom he associates. These barriers are primarily for the purpose of protecting the child
from himself from his own desire to seek his own will prior to an age when he has knowledge, self
discipline, a fear of the Lord, or help from the Holy Spirit to resist that which is harmful to him. The
School Age Child is still in bondage under the elements of the world. Gal. 4:3 Foolishness is bound in
the heart of a child. Prov. 22:15a Having foolishness in his heart, he is likely to act the part of a fool a
fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself. Prov. 18:2 He constantly
desires to venture into the department store of the flesh. Nothing is more dangerous than allowing a
child to discover himself at this age. The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked:
who can know it? Jer. 17:9 Being at the beginning of his formal training in self discipline, he is
relatively helpless at controlling his own desires; and the fleshly nature is thought to be a fascinating
friend rather than seen to contain no good thing. Rom. 7:18 As a parent, you must protect him from his

I feel as if we will never have a perfect health care system in place. No matter what we try, something

With Obama care we had an option for everyone to get health insurance. Now what the government is
trying to pass through will cause million of people to lose their health care. Also, Medicaid is going to

hard for them to get the help they need. Politicians make us think there is just a simple fix to our

The Road Movie In Outer Space Analysis
In the two essays presented, Genre, Gender, and Hysteria, The Road Movie in Outer Space by Tim
Corrigan and Steven Cohan s The Road Movie Book Introduction, concepts of the beginning of the
road movie genre, how it related to social and political environments of the time a movie was made,
and changes in the style of protagonist are discussed and examined equally but differently. Road films
have been part of American films from the beginning of Hollywood movies. Their categories have
included action adventure, comedies, crime, dramas, gangster, and westerns films. Road films have
also expanded their popularity from the outback of Australia, as we ve seen in Beneath Clouds, Rabbit
Proof Fence and The Adventures of Pricilla, Queen of the Desert. The common theme present is a
journey on the open road, searching for an escape of the life they lead, and reaching a goal while
following the personal development of the characters during the journey. The appeal for the
international community with this genre of movies comes with the portrayal of experimentation and
innovation. This is further enhanced by the perception that Americans are a nation of dreamers and
women are free spirited. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Wimax vs. Long Term Evolution
Wimax vs. LTE:
LTE and Wimax are 4G technologies. LTE is Long Term Evolution project which is been proposed by
3GPP (3rd generation partnership project) which is nothing but collaboration between various
telecommunication companies. So LTE has its background from the GSM technology. Wimax is IEEE
802.16 standard and it s mainly roots in CDMA.
Frequency of operation: LTE operates at lower frequency as compared to wimax. Higher the
frequency of operation, higher the attenuation.
Both wimax and LTE uses OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing). OFDM uses
orthogonal frequencies as carrier frequencies so that there will be no interference between the signals
i.e. it uses the principle of orthogonality. This in turn improves the spectral efficiency.
Multiple Access: Both LTE and wimax uses MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output), which a Space
Division Multiple Access technique. It is a smart technique in which the same signal is transmitted in
different streams to the receiver. The receiver choses the best of the transmitted signal streams and
decodes the signal. It is chosen such a way that, the best quality signal is obtained. So, even the
weaker signals are boosted up by this technique.
Infrastructure: Both LTE and wimax uses ip infrastructure. The flat structure of ip helps the mobile as
well as the base station.
Latency: Latency is less in LTE when compared to wimax.
Range: Theoretically LTE has better rang than wimax.
Speed: speed of LTE is way higher than

Sarah Sorenson Narrative
I learned it too late. Everyone s life matters, even mine. Or at least it did, but now I have no life. I was

human body, The Angel was the one who gave me a new life, a new body, and a new purpose: save
them. In my past life, I was Sarah Sorenson. I was a pretty, popular teenage girl who could turn heads
just by breathing. I was that one girl everyone either wanted to be or be with. To everyone, I had the
perfect life, although no one saw who I truly was. Growing up in New York City, it is easy for people
to just look at the outside and not care what is going on in the inside. No one saw the girl who was top
of her class, or the musical genius, they only saw the cheerleader who went shopping every weekend
on 5th Avenue and dated the cutest guy at school. No one saw the girl who only wanted her life to end,
not until she was already gone. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, Better Known By His Pen Name
John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, better known by his pen name J.R.R. Tolkien, came from a family that
was primarily craftsmen that had emigrated to England from Germany in the 18th century. John was
born on January 3rd, 1892 to father Arthur Tolkien and mother Mabel Tolkien in Bloemfontein, South
Africa. His family had moved there after his father was promoted to head of the Bloemfontein office
of the British bank. John had one sibling, his younger brother, Hilary Arthur Reuel. At age three John,
Hilary, and their mother went to visit England but his father stayed in South Africa for a short time,
where he later died of rheumatic fever. This left the three in England with no source of income so his
mother took him and his brother to live with her parents in Kings Heath, Birmingham. The next year
they moved again to Warwickshire. The area around Warwickshire would have great influence on his
writing. One such place was his aunt Jane s farm Bag End which he used in his works. Tolkien was
homeschooled by his mother who taught him botany. He enjoyed plants and drew landscapes. He
could read by age four and write shortly after. By this time Tolkien had already mastered Latin and
Greek and enjoyed making up languages purely for fun. His mother died of diabetes at age 34 when he
was 12. Before she died she gave guardianship of John and his brother to Fr. Francis Xavier Morgan.
He raised them to be catholic in Edgbaston. He started school at King Edward s School but later

Freeman And Martin Shkreli
The primary sense of the term [business ethics] refers to recent developments and to the period, since
roughly the early 1070s, when the term came into common use in the United States (George, Web).
This means that business ethics has become a huge deal over the last recent years. Additionally,
Martin Shkreli acted unethically when he raises the price of a useful drug to certain people who
needed it to survive. One person that would argue that Shkreli was acting unethical is R. Edward

and financiers [or shareholders] (Freeman, 39). This passage suggest that Freeman believes in the
stakeholder theory, and that a stakeholder can be anyone: an employee, a customer, the community,
etc. Freeman counter argument to Friedman is that Shkreli forgot the most important rule in modern
business, The customer is always right. Friedman theory might have been ethical to use in the old
days, but in recent years a business being ethical includes taking it customers opinion into account.
Friedman fail to realize that workers and employees play a huge role in business making profit.
Additionally, the web states that For decades, there wasn t any competition to Daraprim for the simple
reason that there wasn t much money to made selling it (McLean, Web). This is yet another prove that
Shkreli didn t had a reason to raise its price. Because they have no competition, then they didn t have a
reason to raise it price. He acquired the U.S. rights to a lifesaving drug and promptly boosted its price
over 5,000 percent (Mclean, Web). All things consider, it is understandable that the drug cost money to
make, but raising the price to 5000% is outrageously high. For this reason, I believe that if he would
have just double the price, it would have been such a huge deal/unethical. Moving one, in Freedman s
eye Shkreli failed to take his customers into account, and what is worst he hasn t apologized to its
customers. Overall customers have become extremely important to a business, and if you failed to put
customers first the business will not be

Destruction Of Anti-Intellectualism In The United States
Intellectuals Destruction
Anti Intellectualism is defined as a person opposed to or hostile toward intellectuals and the modern
academic, artistic, social, religious, and other theories associated with them. Anti intellectualism
defines a person who believes that intellect and reason are less important than actions and emotions in
solving practical problems and understanding reality. Anti Intellectualism is an epidemic worth
acknowledging; its prevalence in America is one of the nations most major hindrances to solving the
problems it faces collectively. Anti intellectual sentiment has its basis mostly in misunderstanding, but
a persistent stream of misinformation spewed by the impassioned yet hollow rhetoric of shallow
politicians and self proclaimed orators has only served to maintain ignorance. Here I hope to explain
the history and causes of anti intellectual belief as it has manifested and grown in the United States of
America and to demonstrate the detrimental effect it has had and will have on our nation, continuing
on to encourage whoever might view this essay to reverse this trend by embracing objective problem
solving and developing an interest in critical thinking and the sciences.
America, although still young, has grown further into industrialization and exceeded in momentous
discoveries in science and mathematics; yet still harbors ill will against intellectuals and knowledge.
The population of America was still largely rural in the 19th century, agricultural

How Did The Maccabees Influence The Jewish
The Jews shifted their allegiance to Alexander and in return Alexander allowed the Jews to observe
their own laws, gave them exemption from tribute tax during the Sabbath years. Alexander also
encouraged the Jewish people to live in Alexandria, Egypt and gave them privileges reserved for his
own Greek people. When Alexander died in 323 B. C., some of his generals divided the empire among
themselves: The Ptolemies of Egypt, the Seleucids of Persia and parts of Asia Minor, and the
Antigonids of Macedon. (Intertestamental Period New Testament Background, 2001).
At first, the Egyptian Ptolemaic Empire controlled the Jews from 320 198 B. C., and then Seleucid
(Syrian) Empire, around 198 B. C., acquired control over the Jewish populace. While the Ptolemaic
Empire was tolerant of the Jewish culture and religion, the Seleucid Empire was not. The Seleucids
made determined efforts to force Hellenism on the Jews. Some accepted it, but most did not (Halley,
2000). The Greek Seleucid, Antiochus, severely punished the unaccepting Jews which eventually
provoked the Maccabees (Hasmonean Era) to revolt. By 164 B. C., the Maccabees controlled the area
around Jerusalem and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This shows how engrained the Hellenistic culture was and perhaps how it influenced the Apostle Paul,

the time period of the Hellenistic influences that Russell discusses in his work. Two cultures are
residing side by side and a certain amount of melding is expected to take place. While this is true
about language, societal practices such as commerce, schooling and language occurring, the Judean
religious practices remained true to its tenets. The Jewish community in large retained its customs and

Mountain Dew
Corporate background Mountain Dew has been through many changes since it was introduced in

Mountain Dew became popular because of the stock car racing circuit known as NASCAR. During

Also another opportunity is to come up with a new target market to reach new consumers. The number
one threat is the innovation of new drink categories that is stealing away market share from Mountain
Dew. Not being able tot stay competitive in this category can make or break a company. I think that
the major competitors of Mountain Dew are faced with this same issue. I m sure they are coming up
with new ideas to compete with the new products and drink categories.
Target Market Coming up with a target market that is consistent with Mountain Dew varies from
decade to decade. Each Decade brings new cultural trend. Mountain Dew has done an excellent job at
keeping up with these trends and targeting consumers that make their product something they can
relate too. Right now Mountain Dew s target market is male teens 18 years of age. Also trying to keep
the brand appealing and create a cross over appeal among the 20 39 year old males. The type of buyer
that Mountain Dew is targeting is one who has an exhilarating lifestyle and associated with extreme
sports. The characteristics of this buyer would be a male in his teens that wants to fit in and be
associated with sports. Also this buyer wants to make you think he lives life on the edge and drinks
carbonated soft drinks for energy. Mountain Dew s marketing mix is strong due to the continual
growth in sales. The

Mary Godwin was born on August 30, 1797, in London, England, of high literary stock. Her mom,
Mary Wollstonecraft, was the author of A Vindication of the Rights of Woman. She died giving birth
to Mary, placing her daughter in the care of her husband, William Godwin. Mary s upbringing in this
rarefied atmosphere exposed her at an early age to ideas of innovation and revelation, and it created
useful connections for her to such as Lord Byron. Another of the literary types that Mary met as an

Globalization And Globalization
With the changes in the global economy, pegged with the advancement of technology, companies in
the United States must reconsider their strategies to compete with international counterparts. It was
only 50 years ago, a company in anywhere town, America could carve out space in a market for
themselves and do well without a competitor in sight. Things have changed now and not is the threat
of a Wal Mart moving into your neighborhood a fear of the small to medium sized company,
international companies have also set their eyes on the United States. With as the leading consumer
market with a 28% of the world s consumer market, nearly four times larger than distant second
China, there is no wonder why any other country would want to penetrate the most lucrative market
on the planet. This is owed to the growth of globalization and the expansion of technology into
instruments beyond research, entertainment, and communication, and into the world of digital and
cryptographic currency. What the global economy is beginning to realize is: there are still untapped
markets where profits could be astronomical. Many developing countries are beginning to adopt
practices and methods of developed countries on a smaller scale, with the help of technology. As the
prevalence of new markets and a new form of currency grows, there is no doubt larger companies will
be able to seize the opportunity to make in these markets. One should consider the following

The Belief System Is The Foundation, The Primary Factor...
About beliefs
The belief system is the foundation, the primary factor that makes up your identity.
Your belief system is a set of precepts that guides your daily life, is a set of those basic beliefs that
govern your feelings, thoughts, emotions, words, and actions.
Beliefs are those assumptions you make about the world, about yourself, and about how you expect
things to be. Beliefs are about how you think things really are. What you truly believe actually defines
who you are, how you act; and by your actions, you create your destiny. So, your beliefs create your
destiny.
Your view of yourself, your view of others and of the world is the core of your belief system. And this
is not about science or proofs, this is a personal choice. This is a major choice that will not impact
directly your career, your achievements, your wealth or social status, but will impact the core meaning
and purpose of all this. So, this choice will have the most important impact on the quality of your life.
From the day you are born, your genetic heritage is shaped by your environment, and so, you build up
your own image of the world. By the time you reach an age to look at things more critically, your
beliefs have become so engraved that you no longer recognize them as beliefs. They are already your
non negotiable truths.
While you actually inherit a good part of your deeply ingrained attitudes, behavior patterns and most
of your patterns of beliefs, your belief system results as a kind of

Dostoevsky s Notes Form The Underground
INTRODUCTION: Fyodor Dostoevsky s Notes form the Underground explores the suffering brought
by isolation from society. Dostoevsky suggests that while it is impossible to escape the pain of
isolation, he affirms it is necessary to save oneself from the modern society and the romantic self. The
inevitably of suffering and the absence of consciousness is Dostoevsky s example of the human
condition of the Enlightenment era that is tragic but rather truthful. He presents The Underground Man
as a nihilist who is dissatisfied with his 19th century Russian context. The protagonist thus represents
Dostoevsky s worldview in his critique of the Enlightenment project including its romantic alternative
and so of the west as a whole. The notion of consciousness and mental suffering become apparent as
the reason of The Undergrounds Mans desire to alienate himself from society who can never accept
him. He is entrenched by his excessive conscious inertia that inhibits his action. This renders the
fragmented protagonist to experience life in a vicarious manner with shame and depravity. Dostoevsky
argues that while it is possible for The Underground Man to indulge in his conscious thinking, the
modern world does not encourage autonomy and authenticity Paragraph 1: Consciousness, reason/
rationale The values of the enlightenment lack reason and rationale, in a sense that individuals are not
encouraged to ponder on their purpose, and standardised belief system. This is

Japan: Under The Shoguns
Japanese swords were arguably the most innovative and technologically advanced swords of their
time. Blades were often forged with different profiles, different blade thicknesses, and varying
amounts of grind. The steel used is known as tamahagane or jewel steel . Tamahagane is produced
from iron sand, a source of iron ore.
The smelting process used is different from the modern process of making steel. A clay vessel about 1
m tall, 3.7 m long, and 1.2 m wide is constructed. This is known as a tatara. After the clay tub has set,
it is heated until dry. A charcoal fire is started. The fire will need to reach the correct temperature. At

Models Of Relational Models
Relational Models
In depth review on relational models theory reveals four relational models that people use
(unconsciously) to plan and to generate their own action, to understand, remember, and anticipate
others action, to coordinate the joint production of collective action and institutions, and to evaluate
their own and others actions (Bridoux Stoelhorst, 2016:232). This theory gives insight on how mental
representations of relationships affect contributions to joint value creation.

  • 2. Essay On Why I Was A Liberal Democrat Upon taking my political party quizzes, it was evident that I was a liberal Democrat. The population is heavily Hispanic plus Black, and the median income is considerably low, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This bothers me because there aren t any programs or benefits for them which can help them make living easier, such as affordable child care or government programs that provide them financial benefits. If elected, I promise to introduce support programs for women where they can feel appreciated for their hard work and some place where they don t feel like they are alone. I also promise to work with public schools to create cheap and beneficial after school programs where children can have a nurturing environment and complete their homework for the day, easing the burden on their mothers when they come back from work. After all, Sara McLanahan from The American Prospect writes that Some people claimed that growing up in a fatherless home was the major cause of child poverty, delinquency, and school failure and they are twice as likely to drop out of high school, 2.5 times as likely to become teen mothers, and 1.4 times as likely to be idle out of school and out of work as children who grow up with both parents (McLanahan 1 2). Therefore, I promise to give children all the support they need, including education support, financial support like giving them a wide array of job opportunities, and creating programs where they can learn more about ... • 3. Polygamy And Marriage In Chad Polygamy is legal and completely common in Chad. Our Africa lists on their website: It is common in Chad for men to have more than one wife and large extended families of wives, children and other close relatives are the norm. ( People Culture. ). If I came from an extended family living in Chad, I would definitely not be getting the nutrition I need. Sure, there are more people in the family, bringing in a larger income as a whole, but there is also more people and children to be fed and income in Chad is nowhere near the amount of an average income in the U.S. Many young girls in Chad are married before they turn eighteen, mostly to older men. These older men probably already have many other wives as well as several children. I do not think as a wife in Chad you would feel as loved and cherished by your husband who is sharing his love with other women. This is a supportive reason as to why many girls do not finish school to get an education. Living in the United States, society has shown us to frown upon young marriages and pregnancies, which I do, but in Chad that is their culture and the norm for them. With my life here, I would never even begin to think about getting married when I am twenty years old, let alone younger than eighteen! The main reason for this is because I would still be in high school, then hopefully college, followed by a stable job and income so now I would be able to afford a wedding and family. After the first, the novel s protagonist, David Lurie, finds himself in the middle of a well publicized scandal due to his unconventional relations with a student; after the second, Lurie is indirectly affected by the rape, as it is his daughter, Lucy, who is the victim of the despicable crime, and never receives justice. Lurie was not ashamed of his actions previous to his daughter s rape, but after she is assaulted, he sees the situation in an entirely new light, as it is his own child being violated by men. Number of people per booking The number of people per booking of the sample data is analysed with the following statistical indicators: Mean 3.51 Median 4 Mode 4 Range 4 Standard Deviation 1.314741 Variance 1.728543 Skewness 0.333199 The analysis gives the business a general understanding of which type of customers, in groups or as families, it is attracting. From the table above, the average number of people per booking is 3.51 while the mode and median is 4 which suggest that the resort mainly attracts families usually with 1 to 2 children. Further examination of the data through the histogram as shown below showing that 69 out of the 200 bookings studied, that is 34.5% of the data is made out of 4 people groups. Moreover, a total of 33.5% (67 bookings) of the bookings are made for 2 people which gave an indication that the resort is also popular with couples. In comparing the data set with the age distribution of the customer base, it can be argued that the CCResort mainly attracts families with children as well as couples with no children 5. This haunting quote comes from the mouth of one of the most grotesque and brutal serial killers to ever live, Edward Gein. Edward was born on August 27th 1906 to an abusive alcoholic father, George Gein and an overly religious mother, Augusta Carter. Along with Edward, George and Augusta gave birth to Edwards older brother Henry in 1902. The family settled down in the little town of Lacrosse, Wisconsin where Augusta raised the young boys. For the most part, her husband George was left out of the picture mainly because Augusta believed he was a worthless alcoholic. This paper will discuss the connection between Edward s crimes and social control theory in order to arrive at a conclusion as to why Gein committed the brutal murders he did. Before we dive into Gein s criminal history and early life we need to understand why social control theories differ from most other criminological theories. Although abortions are legal right now, it should be illegal. First off, taking a life should not be a choice. In Arizona, killing a pregnant woman is a crime. The law specifies that the defendant shall not be released until the completion of thirty years if the murdered person was under fifteen years of age or was an unborn child (Fetus Homicide State Laws). This proves the fetus had a life. When he/ she would have been born, he/ she would be equal to a child that is out of the womb. Secondly, the baby feels pain. LTE is Long Term Evolution project which is been proposed by 3GPP (3rd generation partnership project) which is nothing but collaboration between various telecommunication companies. So LTE has its background from the GSM technology. Wimax is IEEE 802.16 standard and it s mainly roots in CDMA. Frequency of operation: LTE operates at lower frequency as compared to wimax. Higher the frequency of operation, higher the attenuation. Both wimax and LTE uses OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing). OFDM uses orthogonal frequencies as carrier frequencies so that there will be no interference between the signals i.e. it uses the principle of orthogonality. This in turn improves the spectral efficiency. Multiple Access: Both LTE and wimax uses MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output), which a Space Division Multiple Access technique. It is a smart technique in which the same signal is transmitted in different streams to the receiver. The receiver choses the best of the transmitted signal streams and decodes the signal. It is chosen such a way that, the best quality signal is obtained. So, even the weaker signals are boosted up by this technique. Infrastructure: Both LTE and wimax uses ip infrastructure. Friedman theory might have been ethical to use in the old days, but in recent years a business being ethical includes taking it customers opinion into account. Friedman fail to realize that workers and employees play a huge role in business making profit. Additionally, the web states that For decades, there wasn t any competition to Daraprim for the simple reason that there wasn t much money to made selling it (McLean, Web). Anti intellectualism defines a person who believes that intellect and reason are less important than actions and emotions in solving practical problems and understanding reality. Anti Intellectualism is an epidemic worth acknowledging; its prevalence in America is one of the nations most major hindrances to solving the problems it faces collectively. Anti intellectual sentiment has its basis mostly in misunderstanding, but a persistent stream of misinformation spewed by the impassioned yet hollow rhetoric of shallow politicians and self proclaimed orators has only served to maintain ignorance. Your belief system is a set of precepts that guides your daily life, is a set of those basic beliefs that govern your feelings, thoughts, emotions, words, and actions. Beliefs are those assumptions you make about the world, about yourself, and about how you expect things to be. Beliefs are about how you think things really are. What you truly believe actually defines who you are, how you act; and by your actions, you create your destiny. So, your beliefs create your destiny. Your view of yourself, your view of others and of the world is the core of your belief system. And this is not about science or proofs, this is a personal choice. This is a major choice that will not impact directly your career, your achievements, your wealth or social status, but will impact the core meaning and purpose of all this. So, this choice will have the most important impact on the quality of your life. From the day you are born, your genetic heritage is shaped by your environment, and so, you build up your own image of the world. By the time you reach an age to look at things more critically, your beliefs have become so engraved that you no longer recognize them as beliefs. They are already your non negotiable truths.
