Positive Male Role Model
The Impact Of Positive Male Role Models A Comprehensive Analysis Role models are essential for
the development of an individual; particularly for young males. One of the leading sources of
inspiration and innovation for an individual is typically their father. For this reason, the role of the
father is considered one of the most important ones there is for an individual. There are many benefits
for an individual to have a father figure including having someone to look up to and teach them about
various aspects of life. Furthermore, scholarly research has shown that having a father figure is critical
for individuals because of the impact it has on the ability of an individual to develop their success in
their various endeavors (Ho, 2014). Researchers also note that not having positive male role models
can have substantial consequences for an individual as well including delinquency and depression
(Markowitz, 2016). There are many areas where having a positive male role model can make a critical
difference in the ¬¬life of an individual; especially in their ability to succeed. For these reasons,
having a positive male role model is considered one of the most important types of relationship for an
individual to have throughout their years of development. This writing examines the importance of
this relationship as well as the various impacts it may have on the development and success of an
individual. The paternal relationship is different than the maternal relationship in

Minimum Driving Age Essay
What does Sweden, Victoria, and The Netherlands have in common? The answer is they are the
countries and for Victoria a state with the lowest teen road accident per population and their strict road
laws like the minimum driving age of 18 and complexity of obtaining a drivers license juxtapose to
another country like America, with the minimum driving age of 16. American teens are involved in
over 240,000 fatal motor accidents per year. That is approximately six teens who would end up in the
emergency room every day due to motor accidents.
Victoria compares to all the other states in Australia have the lowest teen motor accidents and the
lowest road death rate in Australia. This is due to strict road laws we have, the adolescent needs to be
at least 18 and be eligible to get their permit, which includes having at least 120 hours of supervised

Essay On Birthright Citizenship
Another controversial assumption made by advocates who want to see a change in birthright
citizenship is that unauthorized immigrants and their U.S. born children place a drain on many social
resources. When an unauthorized immigrant has a child born in the U.S., that child has access to all
the social resources that U.S. children born to legal citizens are entitled to. It is believed that
undocumented immigrants do not pay taxes and come to America with the sole intentions of living on
welfare. Evidence provided by the Social Security Administration, contends that there are taxes that
cannot be matched to workers names and social security numbers. This is also known as a suspense
file and it has grown by twenty billion dollars in recent years. Migrants and undocumented immigrants
contribute more in taxes and social contributions than they will ever receive in individual benefits
(Van Hook and Fix 2010). Immigrants earn about $240 billion a year, they pay about $90 billion a
year in taxes but only use roughly $5 billion in public benefits (Van Hook and Fix 2010). In ... Show

Such changes would require that a newborn must provide proof of his/her birth as well as his/her
parents legal status at the time of birth. This would place a huge burden on the state government and
would make the issuance of birth certificates very expensive. U.S. citizenship and immigration laws
are complex and providing proof of a parent s legal status at the time of the child s birth can be very
difficult. Every American born baby would face a bureaucratic hurdle that would result in the need of
legal services. A change in the citizenship clause will cost American households $2.4 billion annually
(Stock 153). It is also expected that the change would fall on minorities and the poor because the
wealthy and most middle class families would have access to a lawyer, when the poor could not afford

Ethics And Ethics Of Ethics
With the Repo 105 manipulation, assets and liabilities were reduced at the reporting date, and the
leverage ratio was decreased as well because the numerator and the denominator of that ratio are
reduced by the same amount. As a result, Lehman Brothers declared bankruptcy and former officials
of Lehman brothers have agreed to pay $90 million to settle a shareholder lawsuit.
We can refer from the two previous examples that ethics education is crucial. The main reason for
ethics education is that ethics courses and training would help students, who are going to become
future managers and business decision makers, to resolve such ethical dilemmas correctly. As we
know that most dilemmas often have multiple decision criteria. Business ethics classes would help
students to realize which decision criteria lead to a preference for a given decision alternative. Besides
helping future business players, another important reason for education of ethics is the fact that it is
inescapable. Without the existence and appreciation of ethics and the codes of conduct, the world will
be at lost and have no ways of assessing what is desirable and adds to the public wellness, and what is
sabotaging the social standards. Having the code of ethics is not merely a way to secure survivability
of the company, but also helps the company to make the right decisions in dilemmas and expressing
commitments to the society. Similar to the discussions of social responsibilities that companies should

Essay on Distance Learning vs. the Traditional Classroom
Distance Learning vs. the Traditional Classroom
Non traditional students are finding it easier and easier to maintain a job, a family, and pursuing a
college career at the same time. This is possible because more and more non traditional students are
receiving an education using distance learning, as opposed to traditional, in the classroom teaching.
Distance learning is basically taking college level, credit bearing courses via the Internet. One of the
most obvious advantages of distance learning is that it puts the classroom in your home, office, or
wherever you can find a computer and log on to the Internet. However, there is much controversy
regarding the quality of the courses being offered on the Internet versus the quality of ... Show more

This is because the student is allowed to get a feel for the class.
Distance learning does not provide the advantage of building a strong academic or interpersonal
relationship with your Instructor. It also does not allow you to express your individuality in the
classroom. Distance learning is more of a multimedia type learning than anything else. This is because
distance learning is accomplished via the Internet. Receiving instruction via the Internet is analogous
to receiving instruction to, say, a CD ROM.
Distance learning is not the best way to receive instruction. It could be that my bias is for traditional
classroom learning because that is all that I have know all my life. I cannot fully comprehend how
effective can learning over the Internet truly be. However, at the same time we have to focus on why
some students decide that taking a web course is the best choice for them.
A non traditional student, as defined by the Buffalo State College 1999 2000 Catalog is a person who
waits one full year to attend college after graduating high school or one that decides to attend college
after his or her twenty third birthday. Statistics show that the majority of non traditional students are
employed. Many have children to look after. Many non traditional students have jobs that would
normally interfere with

The Rating System Is Entirely Voluntary
The MPAA likes to advertise that their rating system is entirely voluntary. Virtually, their system is
only in place as an informative tool provided to assist parents to conveniently and easily decide what
film will be suitable for their children. In reality, the system as previously discussed, influence the
overall life span of a film. The is no realistic alternative other than going through the process of
receiving a rating by the MPAA, editing the film to their liking or taking your chances with the
appeals board. The members of the MPAA which include Sony Pictures (Sony), Warner Brothers

his film an NC 17, .... They really barely lead the horse to water, so it s tough to take a drink, you just

This board of individuals is almost like the gatekeeper for all films where they can decide the fate of a
film with a label. As a nation we are being robbed of our right to choose the films we want to see and
have our children see, but as individuals what can we do? As an individual one might feel
overwhelmed when discovering an unsettling aspect that may affect our lives. One may think to
themselves what can only one person do to impact a big organization? A way that you can take a step
towards change is to demand it by using your power as a consumer. Take your business away from the
members of the MPAA until they make the changes we need and want. Invest in watching films by
independent distributers, like Sundance. In the world of business, the goal is to profit, we as
consumers hold that power to influence where the market goes, so if we are unhappy they must fix it.
Once the MPAA realizes where their market lies they will make changes to meet consumer need. This
is a key step towards change. One individual making a move leads many more to do the same.

Thanks to a wild and crazy night at Madison Square Garden Saturday night, the UFC has three new

hype. The card gave people what they want to see out of a high priced event: finishes. Some were
more unexpected than others, but the event was quite a spectacle and now opens a forum of many

In Table [tab:test1_nnjd] DRAMMS was the only method generating deformation fields with non
positive Jacobian determinant. Though the number of violations was considered small when compared
to the total voxel number in the image. The ANTs method had none violation because it was built
diffeomorphic. Thanks to the proposed regularization control strategy, especially the Jacobian
determinant based filtering algorithm, the globalDct, pwAffine and pwBsp had zero violations.
Among the compared methods, the Elastix method ran the fastest consistently, as shown in Table
[tab:test1_time]. The Elastix s speed advantage can be attributed to the ITK platform, in which
implementation was extensively optimized. Though the ANTs method was also implemented based on
the ITK platform, its speed was probably slowed down by the symmetric diffeomorphic framework.
The diffeomorphic feature required a constant velocity field. The DRAMMS increased the feature
space thus having a higher computational cost. In addition, it was not implemented with any multi
processing technique.
In the intra subject experiment, we can conclude that the proposed approach demonstrated improved
performance when compared to the state of the art methods. Even though the proposed approach was
not the most efficient one, it provided a good balance between accuracy and computational cost.

Consumer s Perception of a Brand Image Incredibly Relevant
CHANGE THEIR PERCEPTION
Consumer s perception of a brand image such as Microsoft is incredibly relevant in terms of a positive
perception on a brand leads on to a positive perception of a product and therefore, Microsoft can
successful market to students. Currently consumers main perception on Windows 8 directly correlates
to their perception on Microsoft, and at the moment it is not as strong as their competitors brand
perception and culture.
Microsoft has to successfully alter their perception to not only be a positive perception, but a
perception of Microsoft that is superior to competitors such as Apple and Google. Microsoft has to
convince consumers that the switching costs, (discussed by Burnham, Frels and Mahajan (2003)) of ...

Students have the need to blend in and stand out at the same time, they want to be fashion forward and
knowledgeable it is up to Microsoft to persuade their target market that Microsoft is modern and
fashion forward. Engaging generation Y will increase a consumer s perception regarding Windows 8
and can make it feel personally relevant to them.
MOTIVATION IS KEY
In order to successfully market Windows 8, Microsoft has to motivate students to make the effort to be
interested in Microsoft. Lyengar and Lepper (2000) point out that a lack of motivation can cause
consumers to either defer the decision, search for alternatives, choose a default option or simply opt
not to choose. All of these options do not favour Microsoft in any way. Deferring the decision or not
making the decision at all reduces Microsoft s presence and exposure to the market because this
means that consumers are not willing to go that extra step to research Microsoft. Microsoft also does
not want consumers to opt for the default option, due to Apple s immense brand image and popularity,
especially to students Apple has become the protypical brand leader which only diminishes Microsoft
s perception with consumers. Motivation is highly affected from external competitors such as Apple s
iOS and Google s Android operating systems.
Microsoft should aim to create motivation for students and young consumers to become interested in
Windows 8 via university events. The open days are

Popular With Children, Unpopular with Parents and Teachers. The first known bubble gum appeared
in 1906, and was a dud. Known as Blibber Blubber, it was sticky, brittle, and insufficiently cohesive.
In 1928, an accountant, Walter Diemer, invented an improved version of bubble gum. The only food
coloring he had on hand was pink, so for many years, pink was the common color of bubble gums.
Diemer arranged to market the bubble gum in Philadelphia candy stores and the product became

Srutinize The Quote From Heilbroner And Milberg
Scrutinize the Quote from Heilbroner/Milberg The evolution of the market economy has its roots in
tradition and command systems. Even today, market economies rely on practices that have a
resemblance to those of the middle ages and antiquity. If a person of yester years were exposed to the
workings of the free market, they would be baffled with how resources are allocated to the right places
especially labor and production. The beginnings of the economic society are traced to the relatable but
separate problems that the society faced: the production of sufficient goods and services that would
ensure the survival of the society and the organization of production output to make certain that there
is more production (Heilbroner and Milberg 4). All medieval societies sought for ways to deal with
these problems. Through history, humankind has tried to solve the problems of production and
distribution in three ways: tradition, command and market economies (Heilbroner and Milberg 6). All
these solutions are relatable to each other with some aspects of each overarching on the others. For the
tradition solution, it focused on solving the issue of production. Each member of the society had their
role predefined similar to their parents occupations. Notably, sons ... Show more content on

Her goal of those reading who are also in emotional abusive relationships is to share her knowledge
and experience of others to educate the abused woman, leaving her with skills on how to cope, move

One aspect is the role that society plays in acclimatizing women to be a victim. Engel (1990 p. 44)
explains that women have been taught by society to become martyrs. As children, boys are encouraged
to stick up for themselves and girls are urged to accept what is and to be passive, conditioning women
to have a victim mindset (Engel, 1990, p. 44). This psychological theory is also supported by Hyde
and Else Quest (2013 p. 298), identifying it the learned helplessness theory. In this theory, when
individuals are exposed to disagreeable situations with no hope of avoidance, they learn to accept the
circumstance and become helpless (Hyde Else, 2013, p. 298). When a woman stays in an abusive
relationship, she feels powerless, losing hopefulness and accepts the despair (Engel, 1990, p. 143).
This can be one of the reasons why women stay in abusive

Words like bitch , whore chicks or cunt are seen as generalizing terms for women, used to degrade
their status within in the series and thereof for women in real life. This assumption might be
conceivable, as most women in the TV show are far from using comparable phrases to describe men.
There are simply less words which would have the same descriptive and generalizing effect as the
above mentioned terms used for women. However, women in South Park are not expelled from using
derogatory and vulgar language. Robin Lakoff wrote in his book Language and Woman´s Place that
little girls should not use rough language like boys because this would not enhance their status and
prestige among men within the patriarchal system. In fact it would expose females to ridicule and

The Basic Tenets of the New Sociology of Childhood
Discuss the basic tenants and evaluate the utility of the new sociology of childhood in gaining a better
understanding of young people.
Childhood is the age span ranging from birth to adolescence and its non specific for it can imply a
varying range of years in human development reference. The age ranges anywhere from 12 years to
15years with 18years being most common. Previous research done by sociologists focused on children
primarily in terms of socialization and within the context of the family. The new sociology of
childhood argues that children inhabit more than one world, worlds that may well conflict those of
adults, those of children s own making, and those that children ... Show more content on

The Marxist perspective argues that childhood is socially constructed because the bourgeoisie need a
better educated and skilled work force to cope with complex machines and follow instructions. The
family provided food, shelter and clothing and by paying taxes provides education and healthcare for
those who will be the next generation of workers. All of this benefited bourgeoisie at all most no
expense to them. The ideology of responsibility of parents ensures that parents make sacrifices to
bring up their children. Therefore, the bourgeoisie benefit from the concept of childhood.
Therefore by arguing that childhood is social constructed, the new sociology of childhood enables one
to understand young people from a different perspective. Such notions of childhood innocence,
vulnerability, helplessness, economic dependence among others are scrutinized with regard to broader
structural forces. Thus young people even though by virtue of their biological and psychological make
up may be similar across all cultures, what they are expected to do or how they view themselves differ
from place to place, situation to situation. For instance even though the United Nations universalize
childhood by defining it as, Childhood is the time for children to be in school and at play, to grow
strong and confident with the love and encouragement of their family and an extended community of
caring adults (UNICEF 2005).

Key Characteristics Of Muhammad And Islam In The Islamic...
Islam came to influence during the 7th century there were key characteristics that led to the Islamic
Empire becoming one of the greatest civilisations of the era. During this initial period of Islam there
were crucial elements that influenced the direction of the Islamic world. These were the emergence of
caliphates and the rise of ruling dynasties, the rapid expansion of Islamic territories through trade and
conquest, and finally the development of cultural, intellectual and scientific collaboration and
exchange.
The prophet Muhammad and Islam, brought about an age of unification for the people of the Arabian
Peninsula. The initial response to Muhammad and his teachings were slow, but saw religion replacing
kinship as the basis of a collective identity, however, he was a charismatic peacemaker who preached
the divine revelations of the one true God Allah, these would later become part of the Qur an.
Muhammad became a leader in Medina, and his followers became known as the Ummah (a single
community of believers which transcends place). The Muslim people saw Muhammad not as a divine
figure but as the perfect man , he had so completely given himself to his divine revelations that he
influenced Muslim society so fully that it enabled his people to live in harmony (Armstrong 2002,
p.24).
The death of Muhammad in 632CE saw the emergence of caliphs (supreme religious and political
rulers), the first four had all been close to the prophet and had learned directly from his

Wild Reflection
This semester has showed me how to analyze within my writing. The class discussions throughout the
semester allowed me to think about the readings in a different way in which I was not accustomed. For
example, a discussion post regarding The Call of the Wild, we were asked, most of the human
characters are rather flat (unchanging) while the dogs personalities indicate some measure of depth
and character. What challenges does this role reversal present readers in understanding the central
theme of the story? What is the central theme ? In response, I answered, Jack London purposely shies
away from much of the human characters instincts and feelings so the readers would purposely
connect to the animals, specifically Buck and understand his instincts. The humans were not following
any of their instincts as their total focus was on the gold they had hoped to obtain. The central theme
of The Call of the Wild is Buck versus his instincts . Much of what we read can be analyzed in
different ways by different readers for example, one of my peers responded, I think that the overall
theme of the story is loyalty . So, how a reader analyses the story can be seen in different ways but
having the ability to decipher what the author is saying is the key in analyzation. When searching for
resources for my papers the idea of being able to read something and to analyze it, allowed me to
better understand what the author s point of view was. I often fell short in this area, but

Religious Beliefs In Buddhism
Beliefs
Religious beliefs are important in Buddhism, but its important doctrines aren t necessarily the same as
those of other world religions. For example, because Buddhism isn t monotheistic, it doesn t have
doctrines about God like Judaism, Christianity, and Islam do. Nevertheless, beliefs are still central to
the Buddhist worldview. The beliefs that are emphasized in the Buddhist religion mostly concern
human nature and ultimate reality. These concepts are of the highest priority to adherents. The Buddha
himself was called the Enlightened One. After he became enlightened, he taught that the way to
eliminate suffering begins with understanding the true nature of the world. However, the Buddha
considered knowledge important only insofar

The Illegal Immigration Issue And The Security Of The U.S.
The illegal immigration issue and the security of the U.S. Economy have been two hot topics all over
the news during the 2016 election champion. One main solution that now president Trump provided
during his champion was building the wall along the side of the US southern border. Although many
who voted for that he mostly agree to the idea, many others thought that was bad for the Economy,
Globalization, and most importantly the U.S. Economy. Nationwide, a debate on the issue of whether

sounds like an easy solution to solves the budget issue of Trump s wall. The result may not be the
same way that folks who voted for him want to see. The article argued that business will have to make
money to cover all the cost of importing goods to the U.S. If the president increases their cost, they
will have no other choices but increase the price tag on the importing goods to cover that cost. So, in
the end, the folks who voted for him may end up been the real people that pay for the wall not what
Trump has claimed Mexico. Many businesses in the U.S. are heavily relying on imports from Mexico,

Overtime Character Analysis
Many people in life do not sit and think about the consequences that would be the outcome of their
actions. Upon approaching this show, people would see that it is just another superhero show where
the hero beats the bad guy. In a sense, it is that kind of show, but the show is more than those
stereotypical hero stories. Throughout Arrow, the protagonist Oliver Queen has problem accepting for
what he has become. Overtime, Oliver was forced to live a rough life because he found himself
trapped on an island; his rough experience of trying to survive changed him into a type of person who
would easily kill a person without a second thought. It conflicted with his lifestyle once he was able to

Review Of Paige Difiore s Poem Blood Relatives
Blood Relatives Paige DiFiore He wakes up to sunlight blaring through the blinds. It casts an almost
godly glow around his messy bedroom and it made him squint with annoyance. He glances over at the

He makes a mental note to invest in sun blocking curtains, he yawns but pauses when he notices that
he s wearing a jacket. A jacket? When had he put that on? Actually, had he never taken his jacket off
last night? He always slept with no shirt on and it wasn t even cold outside... Why is he wearing

Frankenstein Critique
As Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein, she poured much time into portraying her characters and making
them believable and life like. Her scenes are painted with beautiful, descriptive words that are colored
with vivid emotions and applicable morals. Her life experiences were strategically placed in her
writing to convey a sense of reality and completion of plots and subplots. Her experience with failed
love ties in with the emotion that she expresses the loneliness of Frankenstein s creation. She develops
her characters with passion and enhanced style.
Shelley does a very interesting job of developing her characters throughout Frankenstein. The way
that she uncovers and develops the monster is done very well. It s very fascinating how she ... Show

Chapters four through eight is an example of this. It s very lengthy and a long read.
Shelley has a lovely style of writing throughout the novel. It is very smooth and poetic. She uses
similes to describe thing like the weather or how someone feels. Sentences like, This noble war in the
sky elevated my spirits. and,
Did I request thee, Maker, from my clay
To mould me Man, did I solicit thee
From darkness to promote me? show off this poetic style she shows throughout.
Shelley uses passages like this throughout the novel. It is in a poetic style that really adds to the mood
of the book.
The idea of different narrators for different views on scenes displays a variety of style which are
associated with the main narrators: highly descriptive and rational told by Victor, and tragic and
moving by the monster. The style is rich in vocabulary and is very highly descriptive, especially with
the landscape, which also sometimes mirrors the character s feelings. I discovered more distinctly the
black sides of Jura, and the bright summit of Mount Blanc; I wept like a child: Dear mountains! my
own beautiful ale! how do you welcome your wanderer? Your summits are clear; the sky and lake are
blue and placid. Is this to prognosticate peace, or to mock at my unhappiness?
Mary Shelley relates Frankenstein to her personal life. Throughout her life, she experienced many
hardships including the loss of many children due to sickness and

The Vasa Gunship Catastrophe
Introduction
In 1626, the Swedish gunship, Vasa, was constructed for war against Poland. King Gustav II of
Sweden spared no expense and demanded the ship be the grandest, most prestigious watercraft ever
created. His demand was fulfilled, however due to continuous design changes, inadequate
communication, and a stringent timeline, the ship was poorly constructed. As a result, Vasa sunk after
sailing only 1,000 yards, perishing 50 men and all of the war supplies.
1. Who is responsible for this catastrophe?
In this case, it is difficult to blame one individual for the Vasa catastrophe because several decision
makers were involved. Still, King Gustav s numerous design alterations complicated construction and
pressured decision makers into accommodating his irrational demands. Additionally, King Gustav did
not communicate well with the shipbuilders, admiral, and seamen, and instead solely concentrated on
outshining other ships. Therefore, his lacking leadership and communication created confusion and
stress, which trickled down and ultimately led to the failure.
2. Were there any inappropriate risks that should not have been taken? How can these be identified
and mitigated on future shipbuilding initiatives?
During construction, there were several inappropriate risks taken. For example, time was not invested
into accurately drawing engineering plans that accommodated the King s requests to increase the size
of the keel and number of guns. Additionally, when the principal

Memento Mise En Scene Analysis
Nolan uses mise en scene to further develop the audience s understanding and view of the protagonist,
Shelby and his psychological struggles in the opening scene of Memento. Followed by the non linear
editing, Nolan uses low key lighting to create a dark and dangerous atmosphere, which shows Shelby
as being vulnerable and in danger. However, the dim lighting suggests that Shelby is a murderous man
as he is holding the gun. This helps build tension felt by the audience by making them want to
understand who Shelby is and to learn why he has killed a man. At the start of the film, the audience
does not know his motive and become intrigued as they want to solve the mystery as to why Shelby
has committed murder. To further emphasise this, the setting is an empty, isolated room that is low key
lit. this is immensely ominous as all the features carries connotations of death. Shelby is wearing a
suit, which suggests that the film is set in modern society. As it is set in the modern society, it
accentuates to sense of danger and the ominous feel to the audience as it is seen as illegal and beyond
convention to murder. The sense of danger is elevated by the fact that the scene is directly after Shelby
has committed murder. It shows Shelby s unperturbed facial expression and a scratch on his cheek.
The cut illustrates that he has endured some physical altercation with his victim. Shelby s facial
expression is rather confusing and rather concerning as he seems emotionless after a

The Revolution Of The Revolutionary Revolution
Hunter Sharp Mon/Wed 2:15 Final Paper There have been revolutions which were dominated by
important personalities, creating personalist regimes. Revolutionary leaders including Napoleon
Bonaparte, Vladimir Lenin, and Fidel Castro have been both an embodiment of revolutionary ideas
and an antithesis to many of the original ideals of their respective revolutions. Napoleon Bonaparte
During the French Revolution, the poor and oppressed majority are fighting to get a place in society,
and get natural rights regardless of their social class. Napoleon rapidly rose through the ranks of the
military and emerges as a leader then Napoleon gains power and becomes an antithesis to the original
ideals of the revolution. Some of the laws, orders, and the Napoleonic Code created when Napoleon
was emperor of France shows that he did become an antithesis to many of the original ideals of the
revolution. Although Napoleon did give the oppressed French some rights, he still went against the
original idea of the French Revolution which was to give every Frenchmen their natural rights
regardless of their social class or gender. According to the Napoleonic code divorce was made a little
easier for women, but they still did not have rights. Girls were also not allowed to go to school, while
boys were allowed. Napoleon censored the press from releasing negative articles about him which
violated freedom of the press. Napoleon further became an antithesis when he forced Germans to go

The Success of Baz Luhrmann s Romeo And Juliet
Baz Luhrmann s Romeo and Juliet was highly successful. The film sold millions at the box office and
was well received by critics such as Paul Matthews who said that Romeo and Juliet was a, radical
invention of a classic text . Although the film was released to late in the year to receive any awards,
William Shakespeare s Romeo + Juliet was and always will be considered a classic. The reason for the
film s success was because the film was made accessible to young people in a way that Shakespeare

He cut the lines which cannot be transferred to 20th century context are cut such as the convocation
between Romeo and the Apothecary, this convocation still takes place but in a much reduced way. Baz
Luhrmann also cuts a lot of the complex imagery as it would not have been as appealing to a younger
audience. Luhrmann s version of the script is far more concise than the original and does not
overwhelm the audience with too difficult language making the film far more successful with the
younger viewers. Shakespeare s script was written for a very basic set but the film s setting was very
elaborate so no complex imagery or soliloquies are needed as the setting speaks for its self. Baz
Luhrmann made the Shakespearian play far more concise, slick and easier to understand which helped
make the film be so successful.
As I already mentioned in my introduction bringing the play up to date made the film highly

Lifetime Plums
Once In a Lifetime Plums The poem This Is Just to Say by William Carlos Williams differs from the
standard meaning of confession. The easy going tone of the poem questions the reader s thoughts
about the rhetor s credibility of being truthfully sorry for eating the audience s plums as he almost
seems to brag about how tasty the plums were. In spite of the fact that the tone changes the credibility
of the rhetor, the author still remains credible because he was able to fathom his mistake of eating the
plums when he confessed to the audience after he consumed them. Confession is a formal statement

The author writes a note in an informal tone that suggests intimacy with the audience that makes the
reader question the author s sincerity if he is truly sorry for eating the plums. The narrator claims to
have eaten the plums: Forgive me/they were delicious/so sweet/and so cold (Williams 9 12). This
signifies that the narrator hopes the audience will not be mad at him for devouring the plums since he
confessed to eating them. Yet the narrator seems to brag about how good the plums were. He is not
bragging about the fruit because he wants the audience to understand how great their breakfast could
have been if they had woken up earlier before the narrator could have eaten the plums. Indeed the
plums seemed to have been enchanted the author and he admits the plums were too good to pass up as
the plums are described with enough detail to have the audience s mouth water. Hence, the narrator
seems comfortable enough that he believes the audience will accept his

In 1996 Norman Adsetts became the chairman of STT and took over the role of the Councillor. He
held crisis meetings and a recovery plan was agreed, which involved drastic cost cutting. Because of
the cost cutting the quality of the productions became worse and the reputation of the Crucible began
to fall, which resulted in even lower attendances. Sir Adsetss came up with a new business plan over a
period of 3 years to make the complex more profitable. The main point of the plan was to invest in
high quality and high profile productions which would attract sustainable audiences. The plan
included an increase of attendee researches, new ticketing pricing strategies, quality increases of the
casts and to offer an ambitious artistic team. Moreover, commercial activities were increased. The
result of the new business plan was that in March 2002 the company recorded five years with
operating surpluses.
During the years, the three separate buildings became one organization with overall responsibility for

The answer is they are the countries and for Victoria a state with the lowest teen road accident per population and their strict road laws like the minimum driving age of 18 and complexity of obtaining a drivers license juxtapose to another country like America, with the minimum driving age of 16. American teens are involved in over 240,000 fatal motor accidents per year. That is approximately six teens who would end up in the emergency room every day due to motor accidents. Victoria compares to all the other states in Australia have the lowest teen motor accidents and the lowest road death rate in Australia. • 5. Essay On Birthright Citizenship Another controversial assumption made by advocates who want to see a change in birthright citizenship is that unauthorized immigrants and their U.S. born children place a drain on many social resources. When an unauthorized immigrant has a child born in the U.S., that child has access to all the social resources that U.S. children born to legal citizens are entitled to. It is believed that undocumented immigrants do not pay taxes and come to America with the sole intentions of living on welfare. Evidence provided by the Social Security Administration, contends that there are taxes that cannot be matched to workers names and social security numbers. This is also known as a suspense file and it has grown by twenty billion dollars in recent years. Migrants and undocumented immigrants contribute more in taxes and social contributions than they will ever receive in individual benefits (Van Hook and Fix 2010). Immigrants earn about $240 billion a year, they pay about $90 billion a year in taxes but only use roughly $5 billion in public benefits (Van Hook and Fix 2010). In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Such changes would require that a newborn must provide proof of his/her birth as well as his/her parents legal status at the time of birth. This would place a huge burden on the state government and would make the issuance of birth certificates very expensive. U.S. citizenship and immigration laws are complex and providing proof of a parent s legal status at the time of the child s birth can be very difficult. Every American born baby would face a bureaucratic hurdle that would result in the need of legal services. A change in the citizenship clause will cost American households $2.4 billion annually (Stock 153). It is also expected that the change would fall on minorities and the poor because the wealthy and most middle class families would have access to a lawyer, when the poor could not afford to retain ... • 6. Ethics And Ethics Of Ethics With the Repo 105 manipulation, assets and liabilities were reduced at the reporting date, and the leverage ratio was decreased as well because the numerator and the denominator of that ratio are reduced by the same amount. As a result, Lehman Brothers declared bankruptcy and former officials of Lehman brothers have agreed to pay $90 million to settle a shareholder lawsuit. We can refer from the two previous examples that ethics education is crucial. The main reason for ethics education is that ethics courses and training would help students, who are going to become future managers and business decision makers, to resolve such ethical dilemmas correctly. As we know that most dilemmas often have multiple decision criteria. Business ethics classes would help students to realize which decision criteria lead to a preference for a given decision alternative. Besides helping future business players, another important reason for education of ethics is the fact that it is inescapable. Without the existence and appreciation of ethics and the codes of conduct, the world will be at lost and have no ways of assessing what is desirable and adds to the public wellness, and what is sabotaging the social standards. Having the code of ethics is not merely a way to secure survivability of the company, but also helps the company to make the right decisions in dilemmas and expressing commitments to the society. Similar to the discussions of social responsibilities that companies should hold ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Essay on Distance Learning vs. the Traditional Classroom Distance Learning vs. the Traditional Classroom Non traditional students are finding it easier and easier to maintain a job, a family, and pursuing a college career at the same time. This is possible because more and more non traditional students are receiving an education using distance learning, as opposed to traditional, in the classroom teaching. Distance learning is basically taking college level, credit bearing courses via the Internet. One of the most obvious advantages of distance learning is that it puts the classroom in your home, office, or wherever you can find a computer and log on to the Internet. However, there is much controversy regarding the quality of the courses being offered on the Internet versus the quality of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is because the student is allowed to get a feel for the class. Distance learning does not provide the advantage of building a strong academic or interpersonal relationship with your Instructor. It also does not allow you to express your individuality in the classroom. Distance learning is more of a multimedia type learning than anything else. This is because distance learning is accomplished via the Internet. Receiving instruction via the Internet is analogous to receiving instruction to, say, a CD ROM. Distance learning is not the best way to receive instruction. It could be that my bias is for traditional classroom learning because that is all that I have know all my life. I cannot fully comprehend how effective can learning over the Internet truly be. However, at the same time we have to focus on why some students decide that taking a web course is the best choice for them. A non traditional student, as defined by the Buffalo State College 1999 2000 Catalog is a person who waits one full year to attend college after graduating high school or one that decides to attend college after his or her twenty third birthday. Statistics show that the majority of non traditional students are employed. Many have children to look after. Many non traditional students have jobs that would normally interfere with ... • 8. The Rating System Is Entirely Voluntary The MPAA likes to advertise that their rating system is entirely voluntary. Virtually, their system is only in place as an informative tool provided to assist parents to conveniently and easily decide what film will be suitable for their children. In reality, the system as previously discussed, influence the overall life span of a film. The is no realistic alternative other than going through the process of receiving a rating by the MPAA, editing the film to their liking or taking your chances with the appeals board. The members of the MPAA which include Sony Pictures (Sony), Warner Brothers (Time Warner), Universal Studios (GE), Walt Disney Pictures (Walt Disney Company), 20th Century Fox (News Corp), and Paramount Pictures (Viacom), ... They really barely lead the horse to water, so it s tough to take a drink, you just don t know what you re shooting at. Like in the case of Clerks, what is it. What gave us the NC 17?... This board of individuals is almost like the gatekeeper for all films where they can decide the fate of a film with a label. As a nation we are being robbed of our right to choose the films we want to see and have our children see, but as individuals what can we do? As an individual one might feel overwhelmed when discovering an unsettling aspect that may affect our lives. One may think to themselves what can only one person do to impact a big organization? A way that you can take a step towards change is to demand it by using your power as a consumer. Take your business away from the members of the MPAA until they make the changes we need and want. Invest in watching films by independent distributers, like Sundance. In the world of business, the goal is to profit, we as consumers hold that power to influence where the market goes, so if we are unhappy they must fix it. Once the MPAA realizes where their market lies they will make changes to meet consumer need. This is a key step towards change. One individual making a move leads many more to do the same. • 9. Essay On Sports History Thanks to a wild and crazy night at Madison Square Garden Saturday night, the UFC has three new champions. Some tagged UFC 217 as the best card of the year, and the event certainly lived up to the hype. The card gave people what they want to see out of a high priced event: finishes. Some were more unexpected than others, but the event was quite a spectacle and now opens a forum of many questions heading into 2018. In the first of the three title fights, and perhaps the most shocking, Rose Namajunas claimed the women s strawweight title by making longtime champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk tap due to strikes in the first round. The win was the seventh in eight fights for the new champ. As for what s next for Dillashaw, he wants to go for a second belt against flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson. Though the number of violations was considered small when compared to the total voxel number in the image. The ANTs method had none violation because it was built diffeomorphic. Thanks to the proposed regularization control strategy, especially the Jacobian determinant based filtering algorithm, the globalDct, pwAffine and pwBsp had zero violations. Among the compared methods, the Elastix method ran the fastest consistently, as shown in Table [tab:test1_time]. The Elastix s speed advantage can be attributed to the ITK platform, in which implementation was extensively optimized. Though the ANTs method was also implemented based on the ITK platform, its speed was probably slowed down by the symmetric diffeomorphic framework. The diffeomorphic feature required a constant velocity field. The DRAMMS increased the feature space thus having a higher computational cost. In addition, it was not implemented with any multi processing technique. In the intra subject experiment, we can conclude that the proposed approach demonstrated improved performance when compared to the state of the art methods. Even though the proposed approach was not the most efficient one, it provided a good balance between accuracy and computational cost. The registration ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

MOTIVATION IS KEY In order to successfully market Windows 8, Microsoft has to motivate students to make the effort to be interested in Microsoft. Lyengar and Lepper (2000) point out that a lack of motivation can cause consumers to either defer the decision, search for alternatives, choose a default option or simply opt not to choose. All of these options do not favour Microsoft in any way. Deferring the decision or not making the decision at all reduces Microsoft s presence and exposure to the market because this means that consumers are not willing to go that extra step to research Microsoft. Microsoft also does not want consumers to opt for the default option, due to Apple s immense brand image and popularity, especially to students Apple has become the protypical brand leader which only diminishes Microsoft s perception with consumers. • 18. Srutinize The Quote From Heilbroner And Milberg Scrutinize the Quote from Heilbroner/Milberg The evolution of the market economy has its roots in tradition and command systems. Even today, market economies rely on practices that have a resemblance to those of the middle ages and antiquity. If a person of yester years were exposed to the workings of the free market, they would be baffled with how resources are allocated to the right places especially labor and production. The beginnings of the economic society are traced to the relatable but separate problems that the society faced: the production of sufficient goods and services that would ensure the survival of the society and the organization of production output to make certain that there is more production (Heilbroner and Milberg 4). All medieval societies sought for ways to deal with these problems. Through history, humankind has tried to solve the problems of production and distribution in three ways: tradition, command and market economies (Heilbroner and Milberg 6). In this theory, when individuals are exposed to disagreeable situations with no hope of avoidance, they learn to accept the circumstance and become helpless (Hyde Else, 2013, p. 298). Islam came to influence during the 7th century there were key characteristics that led to the Islamic Empire becoming one of the greatest civilisations of the era. During this initial period of Islam there were crucial elements that influenced the direction of the Islamic world. These were the emergence of caliphates and the rise of ruling dynasties, the rapid expansion of Islamic territories through trade and conquest, and finally the development of cultural, intellectual and scientific collaboration and exchange. The prophet Muhammad and Islam, brought about an age of unification for the people of the Arabian Peninsula. For example, a discussion post regarding The Call of the Wild, we were asked, most of the human characters are rather flat (unchanging) while the dogs personalities indicate some measure of depth and character. What challenges does this role reversal present readers in understanding the central theme of the story? What is the central theme ? In response, I answered, Jack London purposely shies away from much of the human characters instincts and feelings so the readers would purposely connect to the animals, specifically Buck and understand his instincts. The humans were not following any of their instincts as their total focus was on the gold they had hoped to obtain. The central theme of The Call of the Wild is Buck versus his instincts . Much of what we read can be analyzed in different ways by different readers for example, one of my peers responded, I think that the overall theme of the story is loyalty . So, how a reader analyses the story can be seen in different ways but having the ability to decipher what the author is saying is the key in analyzation. His demand was fulfilled, however due to continuous design changes, inadequate communication, and a stringent timeline, the ship was poorly constructed. As a result, Vasa sunk after sailing only 1,000 yards, perishing 50 men and all of the war supplies. 1. Who is responsible for this catastrophe? In this case, it is difficult to blame one individual for the Vasa catastrophe because several decision makers were involved. Still, King Gustav s numerous design alterations complicated construction and pressured decision makers into accommodating his irrational demands. Followed by the non linear editing, Nolan uses low key lighting to create a dark and dangerous atmosphere, which shows Shelby as being vulnerable and in danger. However, the dim lighting suggests that Shelby is a murderous man as he is holding the gun. This helps build tension felt by the audience by making them want to understand who Shelby is and to learn why he has killed a man. At the start of the film, the audience does not know his motive and become intrigued as they want to solve the mystery as to why Shelby has committed murder. To further emphasise this, the setting is an empty, isolated room that is low key lit. this is immensely ominous as all the features carries connotations of death. Shelby is wearing a suit, which suggests that the film is set in modern society. As it is set in the modern society, it accentuates to sense of danger and the ominous feel to the audience as it is seen as illegal and beyond convention to murder. The sense of danger is elevated by the fact that the scene is directly after Shelby has committed murder. It shows Shelby s unperturbed facial expression and a scratch on his cheek. The cut illustrates that he has endured some physical altercation with his victim. Shelby s facial expression is rather confusing and rather concerning as he seems emotionless after a ... Revolutionary leaders including Napoleon Bonaparte, Vladimir Lenin, and Fidel Castro have been both an embodiment of revolutionary ideas and an antithesis to many of the original ideals of their respective revolutions. Napoleon Bonaparte During the French Revolution, the poor and oppressed majority are fighting to get a place in society, and get natural rights regardless of their social class. Napoleon rapidly rose through the ranks of the military and emerges as a leader then Napoleon gains power and becomes an antithesis to the original ideals of the revolution. Some of the laws, orders, and the Napoleonic Code created when Napoleon was emperor of France shows that he did become an antithesis to many of the original ideals of the revolution. Although Napoleon did give the oppressed French some rights, he still went against the original idea of the French Revolution which was to give every Frenchmen their natural rights regardless of their social class or gender. According to the Napoleonic code divorce was made a little easier for women, but they still did not have rights. Girls were also not allowed to go to school, while boys were allowed. Napoleon censored the press from releasing negative articles about him which violated freedom of the press. Napoleon further became an antithesis when he forced Germans to go into the French ... The film sold millions at the box office and was well received by critics such as Paul Matthews who said that Romeo and Juliet was a, radical invention of a classic text . Although the film was released to late in the year to receive any awards, William Shakespeare s Romeo + Juliet was and always will be considered a classic. The reason for the film s success was because the film was made accessible to young people in a way that Shakespeare usually isn t by giving it modern location and using special effects. He cut the lines which cannot be transferred to 20th century context are cut such as the convocation between Romeo and the Apothecary, this convocation still takes place but in a much reduced way. Baz Luhrmann also cuts a lot of the complex imagery as it would not have been as appealing to a younger audience. Luhrmann s version of the script is far more concise than the original and does not overwhelm the audience with too difficult language making the film far more successful with the younger viewers. Shakespeare s script was written for a very basic set but the film s setting was very elaborate so no complex imagery or soliloquies are needed as the setting speaks for its self. Baz Luhrmann made the Shakespearian play far more concise, slick and easier to understand which helped make the film be so successful. As I already mentioned in my introduction bringing the play up to date made the film highly successful. This is shown in almost every scene in the play. It s shown in the opening scenes to the movie when the Montague Boys arrive in a bright yellow car with modern music blaring out of the stereo. They almost look like college beach boys, with their Hawaiian shirts and baggy trousers. This was a very good way to start the film as it gave it a modern cool look which would be appealing to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The easy going tone of the poem questions the reader s thoughts about the rhetor s credibility of being truthfully sorry for eating the audience s plums as he almost seems to brag about how tasty the plums were. In spite of the fact that the tone changes the credibility of the rhetor, the author still remains credible because he was able to fathom his mistake of eating the plums when he confessed to the audience after he consumed them. Confession is a formal statement admitting that one is guilty of a crime. In the poem This Is Just to Say by William Carlos Williams, the narrator concedes to consuming the audience s ... The narrator claims to have eaten the plums: Forgive me/they were delicious/so sweet/and so cold (Williams 9 12). This signifies that the narrator hopes the audience will not be mad at him for devouring the plums since he confessed to eating them. Yet the narrator seems to brag about how good the plums were. He is not bragging about the fruit because he wants the audience to understand how great their breakfast could have been if they had woken up earlier before the narrator could have eaten the plums. He held crisis meetings and a recovery plan was agreed, which involved drastic cost cutting. Because of the cost cutting the quality of the productions became worse and the reputation of the Crucible began to fall, which resulted in even lower attendances. Sir Adsetss came up with a new business plan over a period of 3 years to make the complex more profitable. The main point of the plan was to invest in high quality and high profile productions which would attract sustainable audiences. The plan included an increase of attendee researches, new ticketing pricing strategies, quality increases of the casts and to offer an ambitious artistic team. Moreover, commercial activities were increased. The result of the new business plan was that in March 2002 the company recorded five years with operating surpluses. During the years, the three separate buildings became one organization with overall responsibility for management over the whole complex. This meant, there was no longer competition between The Crucible and Lyceum. STT became more and more depending on grants, primarily from the Arts Council of England, Sheffield City Council and other local authorities. Beside that, STT have a trading subsidiary company to undertake non charitable activities such as sale, food, drink and commercial sponsoring.
