Material Processing And Its Effect On The Construction Of...
Introduction
Usually, the original materials are not suitable for some applications. Therefore, to achieve some goals
of material, we need to process the original materials. By the heat treatment, cold works, and chemical
processes, material processing can change the properties of the original materials (Materials
Processing, n.d.). For example, we do different heat treatments to steels to obtain different hardness
types of steels. According to Totten, annealing is the process that we heat the steel to the critical point
and turn off the heat. We keep the steel in the furnace until the steel completely cool down to the room
temperature (Totten, 1997). The purpose is to make the distribution of the components uniform in the
steel. This process can improve the mechanical properties of the steel, such as making steel softer to
machining and protecting steel from deforming. Normalizing refers that we leave the heated steel in
the air after the steel reached the critical point (Totten, 1997). Similar to annealing, the purpose of
normalizing treatment is also making components in the steel uniformly distributed, whereas the
distributional performance is not as good as annealing heat treatment. Normalizing treatment can also
make the steel softer in order to process. Quenching is that we cool down the steel in a short time after
the steel reached the critical point, such as quenching steel in water (Totten, 1997). The reason we do
quenching is that it can increase the hardness and

Burke s Nakedness Of Adam And Eve
Burke identifies a norm of a naked expulsion of Adam and Eve beginning by 1500, which contradicts
the biblical account God made coats of skins and clothed them before forced to leave the Garden of
Eden. According to Burke, until about the early 15th century, all Italian iconography of Adam and Eve
expulsions were fully clothed or with covered genitalia. Afterwards, Adam and Eve were shown to be
fully naked post expulsion from the Garden as seen in Masaccio s infamous Expulsion from Paradise
(1423). Burke s ultimate observation on Adam and Eve s portrayal of nakedness after being expelled
from Eden is that it serves a purpose beyond the fall of man. An array of various classical texts,
Vitruvius On Architecture (c. 15th), Diodorus Library of History (Latin: 1450) and Lucretius s De
Rerum Natura (Bracciolini: 1417) which described early human development as naked, wretched and
animalistic supports an argument for symbolic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Man s nakedness (i.e. Adam and Eve) symbolically represents his essential state (On Literary Polish
1462), the ability to rise and fall (Oration of the Dignity of Mankind 1486), to create civilization (On
Discovery 1499), to rise from bestial conditions, the potential to be clothed, to create dwellings, to
craft (Book of Craftsman 1400), to be the first achiever in the entire course of human history.
According to Burke, it serves a functional purpose to portray such nakedness, since it visually
identifies the couple Adam and Eve from other historical figures in the cycles of uomini famosi during
the Quattrocento as well as speaks to the continual potential of man to clothe himself, naturally
leading to other human

Fraley s Two Models Of Discontinuity In Attachment Theory
Although the social and cognitive mechanisms invoked by attachment theorists imply that stability in
attachment style may be the rule rather than the exception, these basic mechanisms can predict either
long run continuity or discontinuity, depending on the precise ways in which they are conceptualized
(Fraley, 2002). Fraley (2002) discussed two models of continuity derived from attachment theory that
make different predictions about long term continuity even though they were derived from the same
basic theoretical principles. Each model assumes that individual differences in attachment
representations are shaped by variation in experiences with caregivers in early childhood, and that, in
turn, these early representations shape the quality

America. The two cities vary dramatically, one is surrounded by Building s and the other mountains.
Chicago has multiple famous buildings and sculptures including the Willis tower. It s also well known

similar in which the three races that populate the city most are Caucasians (53.3%), African Americans
(9.4%), and Hispanics (30.9%). The big difference is that Denver has a higher rate of Caucasians by
21.3 % and a lower rate of African Americans by 22%, the Hispanic % is very similar in both cities.
Within these races our different forms of relationship status, including Never married, married,
separated, widowed, divorce. Denver s adult population consists mostly of married couples (37.8%)
and never married (43.7%). The remaining demographics are divorced partners (11%), separated

never married people (49.8%) are the highest percentages by quite the margin. Chicago s divorced

the other hand, Chicago differs, there male to female ratio is 51.5:48.5, consisting of less women
unfortunately. Denver and Chicago are two very different cities, but when looking at ethnic origin,

Grand Coulee Dam Essay
Background
Nearly 13,000 years ago, glaciers moved across the earth. In the Pacific Northwest they created many
rivers, including the Columbia. The rock that the Grand Coulee Dam was built on was carved out by
those glaciers creating a sturdy base of the dam. It is located in the rain shadow of the Cascade
Mountain Range in a shrub steppe grassland, which results in very little rainfall and high
temperatures. There have been many Native American tribes, including the Spokane, Sanpoli,
Nespelem, Lakes, Colville and many others that have lived along the Columbia River and have relied
on it for many of their day to day necessities (Columbia Basin Project 2015). On July 16, 1933

The tribal members are against the dam because it ruins their life style. The Native Americans use the
Columbia River as a source of food and a way of life. Moreover, the damming of the Columbia River
forced the Native Americans to resettle. The dam is an issue to them because they fish for salmon, an
anadromous fish and once they re through the dam, there is no way for them to come back up it to
spawn; this leads to the disappointed commercial fishermen. The environmentalists are upset because
the construction of the dam means there would be habitat loss and alteration of a variety of wildlife,
including plants. The taxpayers in the Northwest Region of the United States are the ones who paid
for the majority of the irrigation construction costs ( Columbia Basin Project 2015). Currently, there
are no efforts for removing the

Such kind of factors can influence Goldman Sachs depending upon the context in which it is

SWOT analysis
Organizational capabilities are formed when a firm utilizes its resources efficiently and effectively.
For example Goldman Sachs would be able to deliver outstanding customer services by helping the
firms to reduce its debt load. This and other factors help to determine the core competence of
Goldman Sachs.
Furthermore, there are tools in strategic management that helps in analysing the core competencies of
a firm. For example one of the tools that help in analysing the current economic position of firm is
SWOT analysis. Further, it consists of specifying the project and helps to spot the internal and external
factors that are favourable and unfavourable to achieving that objective. The strengths and weaknesses
usually can be arisen from within an organisation, and the opportunities and threats from external
sources could be seen (Pettinger, 2004). Based on the above discussion SWOT analysis model has

Sun Shiong Research Paper
Sun Yat sen and Yuan Shikai were leaders of Republic of China in the early 20th century. They both
played key roles in the events of the Revolution of 1911 in China that overthrew the Qing Dynasty, the
last imperial dynasty in China, and established the Republic of China. Sun Yat sen was a key
influencer of the revolution. He was not directly involved with the revolution because he was in exile
at the time, but he was considered by many to be the Father of the Nation of the Republic of China
and served as the Provisional President for three months in early 1912. Yuan Shikai was a military
leader during the Qing dynasty and played a key role in negotiating with the revolutionaries to

of the Qing dynasty, Yuan Shikai was a General in the Chinese army. He fought in a number of wars

Narcissistic, Antisocial, And Dependent Personality Disorders
Discuss narcissistic, antisocial, and dependent personality disorders.
Someone with narcissistic personality disorder would show an exaggerated sense of self importance, a
preoccupation with being admired, and a lack of empathy for the feelings of others (Hooley, p.349).
Many studies support the fact that narcissism has two sub types: grandiose and vulnerable narcissism
(cain et al.,2008; Ronningstam, 2005, 2012). The grandiose sub type is manifested by traits related to
grandiosity, aggression, and dominance. They usually overestimate their abilities and
accomplishments and underestimate the abilities and accomplishments of others. They feel entitled,

Anti social personality disorder (ASPD) is described as someone who lacks moral or ethical
development is unable to follow correct methods of behavior, finds ways to be deceitful, has no
qualms in shamelessly manipulating others and tended to have had behavioral problems as a child.
According to the DSM 5 only individuals over 18 can be diagnosed with ASPD and the symptoms
must have been shown prior to 15. ASPD can be confused with psychopathy and although they have
some overlap they are different. ASPD places heavy emphasis on observable behaviors such as lying,
getting into fights, or failing to honor financial obligations (Hooley, p.356). With psychopathy, more
emphasis is paid to personality characteristics such as superficial charm, lack of empathy, and
manipulativeness. It seems that no matter how you look at it ASPD is affected by genes and the
environment. The effects and interactions of ASPD that was once seen as simply unidirectional family
to child is now being understood that the effects can be bi directional going both ways.
Individuals with dependent personality disorder (DPD) shows an extreme need to be taken care of,
which leads to clinging and submissive behavior (Hooley, p.365). They are scared to be alone and
usually build their lives around other people and subordinate themselves to them. They tend to be

Motor Vehicle Accidents And Economic Stress
Motor Vehicle Accidents and Economic Stress In today s society, motor vehicle accidents can cause
serious economic stress on the average U.S. citizen. In America today, the average legal driving age
can start out at the age of eighteen. Unless those new drivers have had plenty of time behind the
wheel, they are subject to a higher risk of a motor vehicle accident that could result in economic
stress. Economic stress can come in all varieties. It can range from an influx in vehicle insurance
premiums and medical bills to the physiological stress of losing a vehicle in a multi vehicle
homestead; as well as the stress that can come from ones career or workplace. With the economic state
of America, an influx in insurance premiums and payments can seriously hit the pocket. Motor vehicle
accidents are the leading causes of traumatic injuries worldwide (Diedericks 2). Motor vehicle
accidents can cause traumatic stress, severe injury, and can even cause serious debt. If the average
U.S. citizen were to better understand what a motor vehicle accident is and understand the leading
causes of those motor vehicle, it would help in mitigating the volume of accidents and economic
stress. What is a motor vehicle accident? Many would use this terminology of accident to not come
across as harsh as others would take words like collision or incident (Dennis). The term collision is

The Causes Of The Hmong War
The Hmong people claim to have helped in the war, but no one has noticed who they were. The
Hmong came from southeast Asia, many fled from the war as a refuge from their country, it s
melancholy that people need to do this. The main cause was a political war and it has lug on for a
while, the war caused many deaths in the Hmong people and for other different ethnic groups in the
southeast Asian countries. When America came to preclude the war from going further, they were
aided by a secret army made by the Hmong people. But there were many casualties, especially in the
Hmong population, near one third of the population perished in the involvement in the war. And they
couldn t take any more casualties so they fled. When they arrived in America, they mostly settled in
Minnesota therefore separated slowly into other states. And as that happened, they slowly lost their
customs as they lived in America. Then the Hmong was mistreated, they had been slowly forgotten
and their aid was never recognized by the USA.
The Hmong came to the U.S.A to escape the tragedy that happened in the southeast Asian countries,
several of their relatives was left behind unhurriedly suffering, aside from that when the Hmong
people were brought to the U.S.A there were many that was aided but minority families had many
siblings and could not earn a finite amount of financial aid to help raise their kin. Those people were
seen as poor and were mocked. Another part of that was the Hmong people were part

The Public Spheres Of British Victorian Society Essay
The public spheres of British Victorian society was a markedly masculine jurisdiction, obviously
lacking in a feminine presence. Traditionally the public spheres of the society were considered a man s
domain and women were sequestered into the home, women of the public were thus considered of ill
repute. The modern stay at home woman was considered an extension of her husband s wealth, and
her being in the home that of how well off the man had become. The rise of the department stores lead
to an increase of women into what was considered a masculine space and as transportation means
became more readily available to them the roles of women within the public sphere also changed.
These marked changes and shifts in gender role can be seen with the admit protest against their
presence London s West End, and the portrayal od exulted angels gracing the shops with their
presence creating a chaste space. These and many other examples in Erika Diane Rappaport s
Shopping for Pleasure: Women in the Making of London s West End illustrate how women entering
the public sphere altered their gender roles with Victorian English Society.
The preconceived gender roles before 19th century England allowed the privilege of public space
reserved for men, with women usually being in the home. The rising industrial age had led to many
changes especially with the women being employed in factories in large cities where droves of young
people had flooded in to find work. From this influx came the

Film Analysis Of Vivian
In the film, Wit, Starring Emma Thompson, Christopher Lloyd, Eileen Atkins, Audra McDonald,
Jonathan M. Woodward, Harold Pinter directed by Mike Nichols we initially begin the film with a
scene where Dr. Harvey Kelekian diagnoses Professor Bearing, also known as Vivian, that ultimately
sets up the tone for the rest of the film. With only knowing some logistics of the film to begin we may
think that the film will come to tell a story of survival, rather, the movie comes to deconstruct the idea
the typical tale of staying strong through cancer treatment, overcoming the odds, and surviving. The
screenplay and the director otherwise allude to the fact that the main theme or message trying to get
across is the significance trying to reconstruct the individual, Vivian, yet not through any sort of
chemotherapy, harsh cancer treatment, or any sort of physical treatment to the body. The manner that
the film portrays a story of reconstruction is through the acceptance of one self s debilities and
weaknesses, exposing oneself and their vulnerabilities and ultimately letting go of your control of
those vulnerabilities in the process. Overall, the character is healed in such way of their internal soul,
but still hinder the devastating diagnosis of cancer. With research on Vivian full on its way, we begin
to see clearly how the spirit of Vivian diminishes. The physicians ask her how are you feeling today?
so often that it becomes that it loses all meaning, and she remarks that she s a

Ergot Poisoning And The Salem Witch Trials
We ve all heard the stories of the Salem Witch Trials that occurred in 1692 and 1693. During these
harsh times, lives were lost due to the strong religious beliefs of the Puritans who full heartedly
believed that the Devil was present in everyday life and that he lived in the woods. In contrast to their
popular belief at the time, real scientific evidence has been presented that the reason behind the Salem
Witch Trials was actually Ergot Poisoning, not the Devil. According to the article, ergot is a fungus,
that affects the rye grain, (PBS 2016), which causes numerous side effects. Many factors contribute to
the ergot poisoning idea, such as the climate and growing conditions that ergot thrives in, what wheat
rye was infected in relation to where the accused and accusers lived as well as the time span, and the
symptoms of this type of poisoning.
A crucial piece of evidence to the ergot theory is the growing circumstances ergot requires and why
grain the people of Salem grew could have so easily circumed to it. For starters, the main crop grown
in Salem at this time was rye. This grain is so easily taken over by ergotism, because when wet
periods occur the flowers on the rye grain stay open longer, which allows ergot a longer period of time
to affect the grain than in most cases. In addition, in order for the ergot to grow on the grain, the crop
has to be in a , warm, damp, swampy place, (Anna 2012). Throughout the spring and summer months

Importance Of Descartes On Physiology
Hitherto, I have explained some elements concerning Descartes and vitalistic theories about
physiology. On the one hand, I have highlighted that Descartes approach to physiology is founded on
his mechanical conception of nature, which allows him to use the laws of nature in order to explain the
particular functioning of the human body. In general, Descartes argues that God creates matter in a
uniform way and he separates it, creating individual bodies, through the introduction of motion in the
system. Accordingly, Descartes conception of matter denies the very possibility of the existence of
certain individual properties of matter, on the assumption that every matter particle has been created in
the same way and is affected by the same laws. Thus, Descartes explains that the laws of nature have a
broad scope, and their universal application is based on the metaphysical conception of the regularity

For instance, in his World, Descartes explains that heat and light are explicable in terms of the motion
of the particles which constitute the flame or the Sun the luminescent bodies of nature. In his
description, Descartes argues that When flame burns wood or some other similar material, we can see
with the naked eye it sets the minute parts of the wood in motion and separates them from one another,
thus transforming the finer parts into fire, air and smoke, and leaving the coarser parts as ashes (AT
XI, 7). Clearly, this mechanical explanation contradicts the vitalist conception of the qualities of the
bodies which make them flammable. In vitalistic terms, the capacity of burning a body has is
explained because of a quality in it which makes it flammable: a heat quality or a light quality

Leadership Styles And Philosophies Of Leadership Essay
Leadership and You Leaders play a crucial role in the society and organizations, especially with
regards to helping the organization achieve its objectives and purposes. These individuals use varying
approaches to leadership that inform their practices in motivating organizational members towards the
accomplishment of common objectives. Through their practices, leaders not only influence the
behaviors of their followers or subordinates but also help in shaping organizational culture. The use of
different leadership styles and philosophies is also attributed to the difference in concept and practices
of the leader. Moreover, leaders can improve their effectiveness through adopting strategies that
address the weaknesses of their leadership approaches since every leadership style or approach has
certain weaknesses.
Definition of Leadership Leadership is a term or concept that means different things to different
people depending on the context of where the leadership practice takes place. As a result, different
people have different definitions of what leadership is, which generates considerable problems in
attempts to effectively define leadership. From a personal perspective, leadership is a means for
talented individuals to influence others towards common objectives through sharing their knowledge
and perspectives (Mielach, 2013). This is probably the most suitable definition of leadership given
that the basis of leadership is to influence others regardless of

Eva Braun Research Paper
Life of Eva Braun Eva Braun was one of Hitler s strongest supporters and played an interesting part in
Hitler s life. Eva and Hitler had a mysterious relationship. She played an important role in his inner
circle and as a loyal supporter. In the end, what was behind their suicides? Little information is known
about Eva s childhood. Hitler and Eva meet in Munich in 1929 when she was a model and assistant to
Hitler s personal photographer. She was 17 years old when they met. About two years later they
started to see each other more and more. They were rarely seen together in public and didn t get
married until the last 40 hours of their lives. The article Eva Braun says: She entered his household in
1936, although their relationship was kept secret (P.1). Many people believe that the relationship was

The Ages And Stages Questionnaire (ASQ)
The Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) was first developed in the 1980 s at the University of
Oregon. The tool s purpose is to provide a low cost strategy to monitor the development of infants and
young children whose developmental status is in question or at risk. The ASQ has shown to produce
high specificity across questionnaire intervals but with lower and varying levels of sensitivity
(McKnight, 2014). One of the key recommendations by the American Academy of Pediatrics is early
recognition of neurodevelopmental impairment, so the ASQ is way for providers to screen their
patients for possible delays or impairments. The ASQs consist of 19 developmental questionnaires

As compared with formal examinations, the ASQs have been shown to be both cost effective and
easily administered (Gollenberg, Lynch, Jackson, McGuinness, Msall, 2010). There are five areas of
development that are assessed on the ASQ, which are communication, gross motor, fine motor,
problem solving, and personal social. The questionnaire can be filled out by the parent or caregiver
in10 20 minutes and scored in 1 5 minutes, so it is very time efficient assessment tool to use in the
outpatient setting. The ASQ has been validated in many counties, in different languages and settings,
and performs well with children with biological risk factors as well as those with environmental risk
factors (Schonhaut, Armijo, Schonstedt, Alvarez, Cordero, 2013). For scoring, the child s scores in
each of the areas are compared to the cutoff points listed on the scoring sheet. The scores from the tool
are compared with established norms to determine if a child is delayed in one or more areas. Scores
beneath the cutoff points indicates a need for further assessment, scores near the cutoff points call for
discussion and monitoring, and scores above the cutoff suggest the child is on track

Dyslexia Observation
The first step in accommodating students with dyslexia is identifying students who have difficulties
with the language processing of reading, writing, and spelling. Difficulties can be identified through
observation. Some of the characteristics to be gathered is whether the student has a hard time sounding
out words, reads slow with hesitation, and omits/adds/reverses letters in words. Also, it is important to
see if the student forgets spelling rules, makes phonological errors, and calls letters out of sequence.
The student may forget to use capital letters when appropriate, have an inconsistent writing style, and
be reluctant to writing (Reid, 2007). They will have no enjoyment of reading or writing as a leisure
activity. They will be very forgetful, will often lose things, and become easily distracted. They will
also complete tasks later than a given time limit. Research indicates that many dyslexic students

The presenter also showed pictures that he took himself when he toured Pompeii. The fact that the
pictures were taken himself really made the presentation more credible and relatable. Presenter Pless
told stories about his experience of touring Pompeii. Through this presentation, I felt like I was on the

Visual Analysis Of The Nongfu Spring Water Bottle
1. Visual Analysis
The Nongfu Spring Water bottle is a cylindrical object standing just under the length of a forearm. The
bottle itself is made out of plastic and is vertically symmetric, but not horizontally, since the upper
most part has a funnel shape to accommodate the cap.The bottle is wrapped around by a plastic sheet
that is centered slightly upwards and covers about two thirds of the cylindrical surface.
The design and composition of plastic wrapping is unique. It contains different elements positioned in
harmony with one another, but none in direct interaction. The most prominent drawing on the bottle is
a side profile of a lynx in a yellow and blue shirt, inside a blue, oxford boot style ice skate, with its red
scarf blowing to the left side, as if to show the idea of a wind. On the top left corner, a fox appears to
be sitting on sled, and on the bottom right corner, a mouse seems to be playing a violin. Additionally,
there are some drawing of leafless winter trees, and a faint drawing of some mountains in the far back.
The general theme that seems to be connecting these elements is nature and winter, but with some
clear human world references, like the clothing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This bottle juxtaposes elements of nature, like trees, animals, winter and mountains, with human
elements like clothing and instruments. The choice, however, to portray animals as being the ones
taking up human customs, and not the other way around, is intriguing. While it makes for a visually
pleasing image, the design highlights the expectation of animals and nature to adapt, and to some
extent adopt, human behaviours and beliefs. If the goal of the design is to sell the water bottle, it
makes sense to associate it with nature, since that is where fresh and cold water is found. But whether
humanizing nature is mere marketing strategy or a genuine attempt to remind us of where our

The Dream of The Rood: lines 94 120 The Dream of The Rood is a religious poem written in the time
of the Anglo Saxons. It is unknown who the author is as well as the date in which the poem was
written. The poem first appeared in a late tenth century Old English manuscript consisting of poems
and sermons. The poem may have come before the actual manuscript. Parts of the poem were carved
in a stone cross at some time after its construction early in the eighth century. This speech occurs in
lines 94 to 120. Before this selected passage the poem is opened with the Dreamers visions of the

This refers to the point of the whole poem which is redemption. To be able to reach the point of being
redeemed the passage says, who bears the best/ sign on his breast (line 117). This line is saying that
whoever whole heartedly believes in Christ and appreciates what he did for the people they can obtain
eternal life therefore being redeemed. This passage gives a major theme for the whole poem. It tells
what Christ did for the sins of people who did not even care for Him. The beginning of the poem is
about the beginning of someone s spiritual life where they are just being introduced to Christ and the
end being redeemed. This passage is the part in the poem that connects the beginning with the end.
For people uncertain in what they believe about Christ this passage can give someone the act of being

Now when we talk about futbol there are so many different levels and divisions, the main level I plan
to focus on is La Liga, which is the highest division in Spanish futbol. The one that follows is La
Segunda Division¸but peoples main focus is La Primera Division because the best of the best play in
this division. As well this is where most of the fuel to the fire is, especially with the rivalry between
Real Madrid and Barcelona. The game becomes much more intense when these two teams are even
mentioned.
In order to grasp a full understanding of the phenomenon with Spanish futbol and La Liga we need to
have some back ground knowledge of how it came to be. A man by the name of Jose Maria Acha first
proposed the idea of Spain having a national futbol team. After much debate of how many teams there
were going to be in La Liga, they came to the agreement that there would be ten, and in 1929 the
Primera Division was established. La Primera Liga is like royalty in futbol, they are the best of the
best futbolistas, and not anyone can be a part of this division. The success of La Liga is all due to the
biggest rivals in soccer history, Real Madrid and F.C. Barcelona who are basically the biggest and
most successful teams in La Primera Division. Both these teams were founding members and have
never been de ranked to Segunda Division. Due to the fact that these teams have been at war for over
eighty years shows us that the spirit of futbol has been

Social Media And Social Mess Essay
Social Media or Social Mess According to Pew Research, 95% of teens are Internet users with an
astonishing 85% using Social Media. Social Media is defined as websites and applications that enable
users to create and share content or to participate in social networking. Social media is a huge
platform for cultural revolutions and controversies. There is a large amount of potential issues with
this revolution including the possibility of cyberbullying as well as the depression that can be
developed by only seeing the best part of everyone s daily life. This creates a false image that
everyone has a perfect life that users believe is impossible to attain. They, in turn, view their life as
dull or not as exciting as others simply because they cannot go on their summer break to swim with
dolphins or skydive, because they are not committing to a college on a full ride for Football, because
they don t have that seemingly perfect relationship with their parents or siblings. On the other side of
the spectrum, Social Media can be used for many great causes such as activism, it can be used to stay
in touch with old friends, and it can be used to encourage others or bring to light issues that no one
would have heard about it they were not Facebook friends with Joe Schmo. Social Media is a trade off

The Problem Of Environmental Protection Essay
Theodore Roosevelt had once said, The nation behaves well if it treats the natural resources as assets
which it must turn over to the next generation increased, and not impaired in value . These words have
resonated since and have been an example as to why it is our duty as inhabitants of this planet to
provide protection to the ever so fragile environment. But what is Environmental protection exactly?
Well it is one of the most important, and expensive problems businesses and society are facing today.
Why you may ask? Since the industrial age all the countries around the world have been burning an
assortment of fuel to power factories, vehicles, heat homes, and even to cook with and when these
fuels are burned they emit carbon dioxide and various other chemicals which over time add up and
take a very long time to breakdown. As a result they trap heat from the sun in the earth s atmosphere
raising the global temperature and causing a domino effect on the environment. Likewise companies
produce hazardous waste and dump them illegally in waters which kills vast amounts of marine life.
Although laws are in place to protect the planet, inventions are slowly being created to provide
alternative sources of energy and agencies already exist to protect the environment. However it is our
duty as people in a society to act on our own by demanding for our government to show greater
concern for the environment by reforming environmental protection laws with stricter guide lines,

The American Revolution And American History
In the year 1765 the American colonists in the thirteen colonists had an upheaval with Great Britain.
The colonists were tired of British Parliament s rules and taxes that Parliament was placing on
imported goods; such as tea. Historians believe that the beginning point in American History really
started with the American Revolution. Britain was trying to force their culture onto the colonists.
However, the colonist wanted no part in changing their whole cultural background that they created to
the cultural background of Britain. The American Revolution was a one of the biggest revolutions in
American history. Based on what we learned from class discussion on social, cultural, economic, and
political changes there was a lot of revolution happening in the American Revolution. The American
Revolution stated in the year 1765 when the thirteen American colonies declined the British monarch.
Britain started to places taxes on the colonies and the colonies were tired of all the taxes that were
being placed. The first tax that British Parliament enforced on the colonists was the Sugar Act. On
April 5, 1764, Parliament passed a modified version of the Sugar and Molasses Act. Parliament passed
the Sugar Act because the Sugar and Molasses Act was set to expire shortly. The colonists revolted by
not buying anymore sugar or molasses produced by Britain and only purchased sugar and molasses
produced by France. Each gallon of molasses had a six pence tax on it. Back in the 1700s

Dianna is a dignified person. She handles herself with grace. Dianna always dresses like a lady, has

Critique the Moral Aspects of Leadership
Introduction
This paper is about the lack of moral and ethical leadership of Tyco International s former highest paid
chief executive officer (CEO) Dennis Kozlowski (Kaplan, 2009). Tyco International is a business

chief financial officer (CFO) Mark H. Swartz of looting millions of dollars from the company,

Kozlowski and Swartz were accused of stealing more than $170 million dollars from Tyco and
swindling $430 million in the sale

This process can improve the mechanical properties of the steel, such as making steel softer to machining and protecting steel from deforming. Normalizing refers that we leave the heated steel in the air after the steel reached the critical point (Totten, 1997). Similar to annealing, the purpose of normalizing treatment is also making components in the steel uniformly distributed, whereas the distributional performance is not as good as annealing heat treatment. Normalizing treatment can also make the steel softer in order to process. Quenching is that we cool down the steel in a short time after the steel reached the critical point, such as quenching steel in water (Totten, 1997). The reason we do quenching is that it can increase the hardness and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Burke s Nakedness Of Adam And Eve Burke identifies a norm of a naked expulsion of Adam and Eve beginning by 1500, which contradicts the biblical account God made coats of skins and clothed them before forced to leave the Garden of Eden. According to Burke, until about the early 15th century, all Italian iconography of Adam and Eve expulsions were fully clothed or with covered genitalia. Afterwards, Adam and Eve were shown to be fully naked post expulsion from the Garden as seen in Masaccio s infamous Expulsion from Paradise (1423). Burke s ultimate observation on Adam and Eve s portrayal of nakedness after being expelled from Eden is that it serves a purpose beyond the fall of man. An array of various classical texts, Vitruvius On Architecture (c. 15th), Diodorus Library of History (Latin: 1450) and Lucretius s De Rerum Natura (Bracciolini: 1417) which described early human development as naked, wretched and animalistic supports an argument for symbolic ... Fraley (2002) discussed two models of continuity derived from attachment theory that make different predictions about long term continuity even though they were derived from the same basic theoretical principles. Each model assumes that individual differences in attachment representations are shaped by variation in experiences with caregivers in early childhood, and that, in turn, these early representations shape the quality ... With only knowing some logistics of the film to begin we may think that the film will come to tell a story of survival, rather, the movie comes to deconstruct the idea the typical tale of staying strong through cancer treatment, overcoming the odds, and surviving. During these harsh times, lives were lost due to the strong religious beliefs of the Puritans who full heartedly believed that the Devil was present in everyday life and that he lived in the woods. In contrast to their popular belief at the time, real scientific evidence has been presented that the reason behind the Salem Witch Trials was actually Ergot Poisoning, not the Devil. According to the article, ergot is a fungus, that affects the rye grain, (PBS 2016), which causes numerous side effects. Many factors contribute to the ergot poisoning idea, such as the climate and growing conditions that ergot thrives in, what wheat rye was infected in relation to where the accused and accusers lived as well as the time span, and the symptoms of this type of poisoning. A crucial piece of evidence to the ergot theory is the growing circumstances ergot requires and why grain the people of Salem grew could have so easily circumed to it. For starters, the main crop grown in Salem at this time was rye. This grain is so easily taken over by ergotism, because when wet periods occur the flowers on the rye grain stay open longer, which allows ergot a longer period of time to affect the grain than in most cases. In addition, in order for the ergot to grow on the grain, the crop has to be in a , warm, damp, swampy place, (Anna 2012). Throughout the spring and summer months before the winter the witch ... On the one hand, I have highlighted that Descartes approach to physiology is founded on his mechanical conception of nature, which allows him to use the laws of nature in order to explain the particular functioning of the human body. In general, Descartes argues that God creates matter in a uniform way and he separates it, creating individual bodies, through the introduction of motion in the system. Accordingly, Descartes conception of matter denies the very possibility of the existence of certain individual properties of matter, on the assumption that every matter particle has been created in the same way and is affected by the same laws. Thus, Descartes explains that the laws of nature have a broad scope, and their universal application is based on the metaphysical conception of the regularity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Clearly, this mechanical explanation contradicts the vitalist conception of the qualities of the bodies which make them flammable. In vitalistic terms, the capacity of burning a body has is explained because of a quality in it which makes it flammable: a heat quality or a light quality explains the presence of this visible effects in bodies like the Sun or a flame. The tool s purpose is to provide a low cost strategy to monitor the development of infants and young children whose developmental status is in question or at risk. The ASQ has shown to produce high specificity across questionnaire intervals but with lower and varying levels of sensitivity (McKnight, 2014). One of the key recommendations by the American Academy of Pediatrics is early recognition of neurodevelopmental impairment, so the ASQ is way for providers to screen their patients for possible delays or impairments. The questionnaire can be filled out by the parent or caregiver in10 20 minutes and scored in 1 5 minutes, so it is very time efficient assessment tool to use in the outpatient setting. The ASQ has been validated in many counties, in different languages and settings, and performs well with children with biological risk factors as well as those with environmental risk factors (Schonhaut, Armijo, Schonstedt, Alvarez, Cordero, 2013). For scoring, the child s scores in each of the areas are compared to the cutoff points listed on the scoring sheet. The scores from the tool are compared with established norms to determine if a child is delayed in one or more areas. Scores beneath the cutoff points indicates a need for further assessment, scores near the cutoff points call for discussion and monitoring, and scores above the cutoff suggest the child is on track ... Difficulties can be identified through observation. Some of the characteristics to be gathered is whether the student has a hard time sounding out words, reads slow with hesitation, and omits/adds/reverses letters in words. Also, it is important to see if the student forgets spelling rules, makes phonological errors, and calls letters out of sequence. The student may forget to use capital letters when appropriate, have an inconsistent writing style, and be reluctant to writing (Reid, 2007). They will have no enjoyment of reading or writing as a leisure activity. They will be very forgetful, will often lose things, and become easily distracted. The bottle itself is made out of plastic and is vertically symmetric, but not horizontally, since the upper most part has a funnel shape to accommodate the cap.The bottle is wrapped around by a plastic sheet that is centered slightly upwards and covers about two thirds of the cylindrical surface. The design and composition of plastic wrapping is unique. It contains different elements positioned in harmony with one another, but none in direct interaction. The most prominent drawing on the bottle is a side profile of a lynx in a yellow and blue shirt, inside a blue, oxford boot style ice skate, with its red scarf blowing to the left side, as if to show the idea of a wind. On the top left corner, a fox appears to be sitting on sled, and on the bottom right corner, a mouse seems to be playing a violin. The choice, however, to portray animals as being the ones taking up human customs, and not the other way around, is intriguing. While it makes for a visually pleasing image, the design highlights the expectation of animals and nature to adapt, and to some extent adopt, human behaviours and beliefs. If the goal of the design is to sell the water bottle, it makes sense to associate it with nature, since that is where fresh and cold water is found. The poem may have come before the actual manuscript. Parts of the poem were carved in a stone cross at some time after its construction early in the eighth century. This speech occurs in lines 94 to 120. Before this selected passage the poem is opened with the Dreamers visions of the Cross, also known as the Rood, which lays out the poems plot. As well this is where most of the fuel to the fire is, especially with the rivalry between Real Madrid and Barcelona. The game becomes much more intense when these two teams are even mentioned. In order to grasp a full understanding of the phenomenon with Spanish futbol and La Liga we need to have some back ground knowledge of how it came to be. A man by the name of Jose Maria Acha first proposed the idea of Spain having a national futbol team. After much debate of how many teams there were going to be in La Liga, they came to the agreement that there would be ten, and in 1929 the Primera Division was established. La Primera Liga is like royalty in futbol, they are the best of the best futbolistas, and not anyone can be a part of this division. The success of La Liga is all due to the biggest rivals in soccer history, Real Madrid and F.C. Barcelona who are basically the biggest and most successful teams in La Primera Division. Social Media is defined as websites and applications that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking. Social media is a huge platform for cultural revolutions and controversies. There is a large amount of potential issues with this revolution including the possibility of cyberbullying as well as the depression that can be developed by only seeing the best part of everyone s daily life. This creates a false image that everyone has a perfect life that users believe is impossible to attain. They, in turn, view their life as dull or not as exciting as others simply because they cannot go on their summer break to swim with dolphins or skydive, because they are not committing to a college on a full ride for Football, because they don t have that seemingly perfect relationship with their parents or siblings. On the other side of the spectrum, Social Media can be used for many great causes such as activism, it can be used to stay in touch with old friends, and it can be used to encourage others or bring to light issues that no one would have heard about it they were not Facebook friends with Joe Schmo. • 39. The Problem Of Environmental Protection Essay Theodore Roosevelt had once said, The nation behaves well if it treats the natural resources as assets which it must turn over to the next generation increased, and not impaired in value . These words have resonated since and have been an example as to why it is our duty as inhabitants of this planet to provide protection to the ever so fragile environment. But what is Environmental protection exactly? Well it is one of the most important, and expensive problems businesses and society are facing today. Why you may ask? Since the industrial age all the countries around the world have been burning an assortment of fuel to power factories, vehicles, heat homes, and even to cook with and when these fuels are burned they emit carbon dioxide and various other chemicals which over time add up and take a very long time to breakdown. As a result they trap heat from the sun in the earth s atmosphere raising the global temperature and causing a domino effect on the environment. Likewise companies produce hazardous waste and dump them illegally in waters which kills vast amounts of marine life. Although laws are in place to protect the planet, inventions are slowly being created to provide alternative sources of energy and agencies already exist to protect the environment. However it is our duty as people in a society to act on our own by demanding for our government to show greater concern for the environment by reforming environmental protection laws with stricter guide lines, ...
