More Space Shuttle Experiments Take Flight Summary
The article More Space Shuttle Experiments Take Flight, talks about a unique mentorship program for
the ages of elementary children. The mentorship program prepares experiments that have been
conducted in flight on space shuttle missions, students have the chance to study simulations that have
happened in space in a classroom setting. For example, students study the effect of spaceflight on
seeds and brine shrimp germinated/ hatched in the classroom. The article includes the students and the
teachers, it is a nationwide mentorship program that is engaging students to move on to the next set of
space shuttle experiment studies. Several schools are participating in these different series of space
shuttle experiments and the experiments vary depending on the age level and interest.
What I love about these space shuttle experiments is the fact that the students and teachers are
involved together. There is communication throughout all the schools involved and unanswered
questions are always given an answer. When students in the classroom are given an experiment like
this, it is going to create a learning environment that is enjoyable for learners. The author of the
article, Robert ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The four different control groups allowed students to examine the effects on germination of seeds
exposed to a hostile space environment. The groups encouraged different studies but the total outcome
allowed students the chance to learn about different effects that space has on different seeds. In order
for the experiments to work there had to be teams in order to simulate a collaborative research
environment. The collaboration in these experiments taught students about the space environment and
what it is capable of and the importance of teamwork to help one another succeed as a

Crack Cocaine And Drug Addiction
The drug crack cocaine is the crystalized form of cocaine that normally comes in a powder form.
Smoking crack cocaine, which is way stronger than crack itself, permits the drug to reach the brain
faster which brings a strong and almost instantaneous high that endures for approximately fifteen
minutes. Because crack cocaine addiction can develop quicker if the substance is smoked rather than
inhaled, the user can develop an addiction after their first time even experiencing the drug. Crack
cocaine has a high cost, while crack alone is traded at low cost. Once a crack cocaine user is addicted,
the amount that they tend to use increases and the price also increases causes a direct struggle for
funds in order to pay. The definitions of crack cocaine addictions can vary, but most incorporate the
fact that as a staple norm the persistent use of a drug notwithstanding the presence of undesirable and
damaging consequences and concerns for the user s well being, employment, financial stability, and
relationships/associations. The significant component of crack cocaine is the users craving and loss of
control, indicating the failure of the user to change their uncontrollable behavior. From doing research
on this topic, I found that cocaine addiction was once assumed to be mainly mental in nature. In the
book that we read in class, Fast Lives by Claire Sterk, she challenges the common misperceptions of
crack cocaine and shows us through study that the common perceptions that we have

Network Design And Organizational Goals
Network design and organizational goals are and will always be intertwined. The success of the
network design team and of the organization is a burden they both share. I was tasked to design a
network for a client, who recently bought an existing building to house a medium size business. This
building has five floors, each floor has twenty thousand square feet totaling one hundred thousand
square feet overall. The business will initially employee two thousand employees and within the
building, my client will need a medium size data center. The focus of this paper is to show what items
to consider, how I would plan it and new considerations based on what I have learned in the course.
Hopefully, I will have demonstrated the necessary considerations in designing a network from the
ground up. I will use PPDIOO approach for networks. The six phases of a networks life cycle are as
follows Prepare, Plan, Design, Implement, Operate and Optimize. My design considerations will be
based on the customer s needs; therefore, the customer s success rest solely upon the attention to
details about organizational goals and constraints. During the prepare phase, I will learn the short term
and long term goals as well as the customers expectation of the design s outcome for the company. My
analysis of the organization should show activities, products, processes, services...etc. that will
strengthen the network design, increase the success of the project and confirm the cost of network

First Crusades Dbq
Before the first Crusade, Western Europe had become a place with not much progress, confined from
other civilizations and hidden in the Dark Ages that had gone down on Western Christendom after the
collapse of the Roman Empire. At the time of the first Crusade, the Middle East and Western Europe
were greatly divided. The Crusades contributed to the end of Western Europe s global isolation by
introducing an era in which Western Europe came into direct contact with the large trade routes that
united their civilization with Asia.
The Crusades introduced many Western Europeans to trading. Many goods flowed along these trade
routes such as spices, silk, cotton, paper, medicines and other endless amounts of products. The trade
created a high demand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These reasons resulted in what became a prosperous first crusade led by the Pope himself. The
political reasons ranged from a desire for adventure to the land of Jerusalem, wanting to gain more
power, and other economic rationales. By the end of the first crusade, the Crusaders were victorious in
stripping more than forty silver candelabra and more than twenty gold ones in the Dome of the Rock.
The economic reasons included gaining more wealth, land, riches and multiple goods. The Pope
claims that the Crusaders must ...rush quickly as [they] can to the defence of the Eastern Church and
that it s ...a beautiful thing to die for Christ... . The religious reasons the Crusaders thought to be true
was that the crusade was God s call for the Christian brothers to accomplish their attack on the
Muslims. The Muslims were filled with grief as the Arab Historian, Ibn al Athir, recalls that ...the
Franks slaughtered more than 70,000 people...women and children taken prisoner, the homes
pillaged... . Unlike the rejoice in the documents and articles from the Crusaders perspectives, the
Muslim perspective felt sorrow for those who died innocently. The Crusaders destroyed an extensive
portion the Jerusalem land and population, taking away valuable riches and treasures from the Holy
Land. While later crusades failed to accomplish that of the crusade led by Pope Urban III, I greatly
believe that the first crusade was a great

Who Wrote The Book Of Jonah
The prophet Jonah was an angry, hateful man who lived in eighth century B.C. During the reign of
King Jeroboam II, he was commission by God to go to Nineveh and tell them to repent of their wicked
ways. While it is not known, who wrote the book of Jonah is it widely believed to be have been
penned by the prophet himself. The passage I have chosen takes place after the people of Nineveh
repent and God has shown compassion for them. Jonah is stubbornly angry at God s compassion and
leaves Nineveh. The passage picks up with Jonah sulking on a hill overlooking the city.
The main themes in these verses are God s: 1) sovereignty; 2) love and mercy for all people, including
Jonah, and; 3) Jonah s selfishness. God s sovereignty is evident when

Creationist Argument Against Creationism
As seen from the infographic, Creationism meets absolutely none of the requirements to be considered
a science; for instance, Creationism has no physical evidence, is not repeatable, and has no backing
from any other branch of science. In this specific instance, evolution is the comparative to
Creationism. Unlike its counterpart, evolution can be repeatedly tested because it is still happening to
this day while the beliefs of Creationism seem to have occurred only once. Additionally, if
Creationism was to have any evidence, it would probably be the Bible, but not even that has scientific
backing. Along with this Creationism cannot be backed by any branch of science, due to the fact that it
does not follow the scientific method. Due to this, Creationism cannot be considered a science and in
turn cannot be taught in place of a science curriculum. Despite this, Creationists still press for some
form of their religious beliefs to be taught in the public school system. Fundamentalist Creationists do
not stop at just asking for Creationism to be taught in public schools, as mentioned before, sometimes
they turn to extremes. First, it is beneficial to understand the basis on which Creationists attempt to
discredit science. One of the most common misconceptions from Creationism is that it is a suitable
scientific alternative to the evolutionary theory. This is simply not true, as evident from the
aforementioned infographic. Using this as the foundation for their argument,

Solon s Influence On Athenian Democracy
Greeks have always been the source of many impressive ideas, inventions, and creations. Their society
was the first to form a fair system and government called Democracy . One of the founders of
Democracy is Solon, an Athenian statesman, lawmaker, and poet .He s known for having laid the
foundations for Athenian democracy and for his efforts to legislate against the archaic Draco laws.
Solon was born in Athens in 638 B.C. He belonged to a Eupatrid family in which his father was
Execestides and his lineage, therefore could be traced back to Codrus, the last King of Athens. Today,
Solon is often mentioned as one of the founders of Democracy including Cleisthenes and Pericles.
They re the three men who slowly carved and improved the Democracy that will later be used in the
rest of world especially in the U.S Democracy. He was inspired by Tyrtaeus, a poet that wrote about
the Second Messenian War. He also influenced Cleisthenes and Pericles into improving his basic ...

He was the man who saved Athens when it was in an economical, social, and political crisis. He wrote
a set of laws that covered all the aspects of society, crimes, economy, and punishments that were much
fairer than the Draco laws. He saved all the farmers from their debt and freed all the enslaved citizens,
this act was popularly known as the shaking off of burden . (Cadoux, Theodore) He also helped the
economy by encouraging the poor people to plant and export olive oil to earn more earnings to feed
their families. He s contributions didn t only help Athens but also helped future leaders develop
democracy into what would the U.S would use to form its government. Solon s thinking was
revolutionary for his time because at that time nobles were selfish and only cared about their social
class and neglected everybody below them. He was the first Athenian to think of a government that
could be ruled by the people and not aristocrats or

Anxiety Disorder And Anxiety Disorders
A feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an
uncertain outcome. This is the definition for anxiety from a text book stand point. Someone that has or
has experienced anxiety would describe it differently. An anxiety problem can be developed through
genetics, past life events, and personality. Anxiety can be broken down into six different branches:
generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, phobia, post traumatic
stress disorder, and social anxiety disorder. People with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) often
have increased anxiety over something that shouldn t create worry. Such as thinking about having to
get through the day. This is a cycle that they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But when those fears disrupt someone s daily routine or relationship they might have a phobia anxiety
disorder. Someone with this disorder might travel an extra thirty minutes out of the way for work just
to avoid a bridge because of their fear of heights. Some believe that these phobias are developed
during childhood but they are more commonly brought on suddenly during adulthood. These people
usually realize that their fears are irrational but they can t change them because even thinking about
them cause extra distress. 8.7% (9 million) of American have this disorder and is usually onset around
the age of 7.
It is very normal for someone to have nightmares or flashbacks to something traumatic that happened
but post traumatic stress disorder(PTSD) is much more serious. People that have experienced a very
traumatic event such as war, rape, death, or any other event will have PTSD. Sudden flashbacks or
memories can cause someone to have a panic attack or cause them to become very aggressive. PTSD
can stick around for months or even years after the experience that caused it. It is estimated that
around 7.8% of Americans will experience PTSD at some point in their lives.
Social anxiety disorder also known as social phobia is a phobia that prevents the person from being
able to have a normal social life. When in a crowed situation this person will have a constant fear that
their pears are making fun of them or talking about them. This prevents

Similarities Between China And Classical India
Although both Classical India and China developed unique approaches to developing aspects of
society and government, some similarities inevitably existed. Cultural diffusion was partly responsible
for this, as trade and Buddhist ideals influenced each culture directly and indirectly. The Chinese and
Indian civilizations executed similar practices and beliefs, such as the idealistic role of women, wide
divisions between social classes, and the influence of Buddhism. However, discrepancies existed
between the rigidity of hierarchy and gender roles, and the impacts of religion and philosophy in
government.
While India focused more on religion, China leaned towards secularism. In Classical India, Hinduism
was widely popular. The brahmins, or priests, would hold immense power and be at the top of the
caste system. Alongside the elected chiefs, brahmins ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Generally, there were a large amount of peasants and laborers at the bottom, and ultimately few people
could hold power. India was governed more strictly than China through the caste system, where one
would be born into a strict socioeconomic level, and there was no room for movement. Marriage and
interactions were restricted to people in one s class. On the other hand, China s social hierarchy was
more forgiving, as even peasants had the opportunity to move to higher classes through civil service
examinations. Furthermore, the religions and philosophies of each region reflected differently on how
some groups were organized. For example, merchants in China had a different status than of
merchants in India. In China, Confucian values stressed the moderation of desires, therefore,
moneymaking was not popular. Merchants were at the bottom of the class and were often shunned by
society. In contrast, India valued its merchants and they were often in higher castes. Overall, these
differences in who was valued in society depended heavily on the beliefs of the

The Pros And Cons Of Group Health And Kaiser Permanente
Founded in 1946, Seattle s Group Health Cooperative was created by doctors and community
members who believed that there needed to be a health care program that was affordable, member
centered, and held principles of social justice. This cooperative was one that had been successful for
many years, but just recently was acquired by the not for profit Kaiser Permanente health care
company on February 1, 2017 for 1.8 billion dollars. Although Group Health is a cooperative and
Kaiser Permanente is a nonprofit healthcare company, they have similar views on how they run their
companies because both have missions to put their members and employees first. This is something
that the articles stressed because this merge is going to affect thousands of members and employees. I
plan on focusing on the process Kaiser Permanente had when wanting to take over Group Health
Cooperative, the pros and cons of the final decision to merge the two healthcare programs, and
ultimately how Group Health s marketing and management strategies will be implemented in the
merge. (12)
Back in December of 2015, Kaiser Permanente planned to acquire Group Health Cooperative for 1.8
billion dollars with a proposition to invest $1 billion in new equipment, staff, facilities and research in
hope to improve health in Washington state. In the Advisory Board s article Eyeing growth, Kaiser

Essay On Unanimous Verdict
In criminal trials the end verdict must be unanimous. If the jury can t decide on a unanimous verdict,
then the case will be rendered as a mistrial or hung jury. Although in some states a verdict of eleven to
one or ten to two is accepted. Verdicts like this may only be accepted if the deliberation is longer than
a certain amount of time. Although most states require a unanimous verdict, most people disagree. In
my opinion every verdict must be unanimous. There are various reasons why verdicts should be
unanimous. I believe that the main reason is when jurors give the wrong verdict. In many criminal
cases the verdict isn t always the right one. For example, in some cases the accused is said to be
innocent and in reality they are guilty. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The other result is that the criminal continues to commit crimes. This is a very big issue if the criminal
was accused for murder. If a murderer was set free, they might want to kill other people. In other
cases, the accused is said to be guilty, and in reality they are innocent. In this case there could also be
two results. If the accused was said to be guilty, they have to serve their time. Depending on how bad
the crime was, the accused might go to jail forever. In some parts of the world, the criminal might get
the death penalty. Maybe ten years later, someone might go back to the case and prove that the
criminal wasn t guilty. If someone disproved the guilty verdict, they might release the criminal. Even
if they release the victim, they still had to suffer through years of prison. On the other hand, if the
criminal received the death penalty, there is no way of bring said person back to life. In the case of
Twelve Angry Men the nineteen year old boy was said to be innocent. Juror number eight says that the
boy is innocent and gives a variety of reasons. He states, He s nineteen years old. Since the boy was
innocent he had to be set free. If we were guilty, then it

Major Depressive Disorder
Major Depressive Disorder: Depression is a clinical condition associated with the normal emotions of
bereavement and sadness. However, this condition does not pass on when the external causes of these
emotions dissolve and is usually inconsistent to their cause. In essence, the classic severe conditions of
depression have not been attributed to external precipitating cause. One of the most common
conditions of depression is Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), which is a psychiatric condition that
impairs moods, behavioral patterns, and thoughts for a protracted duration. This psychiatric illness
tends to impair the patient s social functioning and quality of life due to its impacts on cognitive
functioning. Some of the most common symptoms of the condition include difficulty in concentration,
weight change, minimal interest in pleasure, high rate of suicide, and physical impairment. The
severity of this disease was evident in the year 2000 when the World Health Organization ranked it as
the fourth cause of disability and premature death across the globe.
Review of Articles: As a result of its occurrence, severity, and likelihood to cause premature death
throughout the world, major depressive disorder has received much attention in the recent past to an
extent that it has been the subject of numerous studies and analyses. One of the recent studies to be

amount of homework each night. Brad Wolverton wrote an article titled, NCAA Considers Easing

Medicine During The Civil War
During the Civil War, medicine was an important aspect for every soldier due to the fact that many
soldiers had to fight and ended up with injuries also there were many types of illnesses. In this essay, I
will focus on the advance of medicine during the Civil War. Also how the soldiers and civilians were
treated as well as how sanitize their location was, are questions I will try to answer. Also, I will like to
include some of most known causes of deaths during the Civil War and the types of diseases that
soldiers would come in contact with. Include who was in charge of the hospitals during the war. I will
also include information from letters and documents that the nurse and doctors wrote while the Civil
War was going one and what kind of establishments were created and the kind of equipment they used
in the hospital. Since the period of the Civil War was and is consider to be the start and growth of the
medical industry it is important for me to find out why.
Advances included amputation and the anesthesia inhaler. The surgeon noticed the best way to save

My Experience In High School Essay
It was a cool fall day, the pleasant cool breeze against my face, as I make my way down the road to
the rendezvous point. I arrive at the high school, and realize I m slightly early. I put the skateboard on
the ground and proceed to attempt to ride it, thankful that no one was there to see. Though I enjoy
skating, the point of meeting at the high school was so that no one had to see our novice attempts at it.
After five minutes of failing to get the board to leave the ground with me remaining on it, Raith and
Mea cross the road just in time to witness my pitiful endeavor. We spent most of the morning cruising
on our boards and sitting, drinking various sodas we had brought, and chatting. It was a rather
enjoyable start to the day, but by the time noon rolled around, most of us had to use the bathroom. So
we collectively decided to head down to the skate park because it was close, had a bathroom, and
sounded like it could be fun. Little did we know how much trouble would come from this little trip.
We arrive at the skate park to find that, surprisingly, no one is there. I make my way to the bathroom,
as well does the rest of the group. Afterwards we can t see the point of heading back immediately. I
attempt a few ramps and fall on my butt a few times so, ultimately, we decide to sit at the bench and

Evaluation Tools
I would perform a consumer survey to help determine what the intended popualtion knows about
prostate cancer. This survey would also be available to women to fill out, this is just one way to help
make sure that our intended population gets some of the important information on prostate cancer.
Performing a consumer survey either by using s computer or by handing them out, will allow us to see
what type of marketing needs to be done. What are the outlets that our populations uses the most, what
are we wasting our time on, how much money can we save. Another tool I would use is the Behavioral
Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) to help measure engagement. After all the marketing tools
have been implemented and the intended population has been reached, I would use a surveillance
system to help monitor various factors over an extended amount of time (U.S. Department of Health

would be how many men are going to get their prostates checked every fours years, who makes their

Acting Techniques Used By Sandra Bullock In The Blind Side
I chose to analyze acting from The Blind Side which won an Academy award for best actress (Sandra
Bullock) in this film. The Blind Side is a realistic film because it is about true events, is a mirror of
reality, and has no distortions. The film also has classical elements like it focuses on the characters and
their story and uses quick cuts to emphasize emotion and drama. I decided to watch this movie
because the acting by Sandra Bullock is phenomenal, emotional, and stunning. She usually plays
different types in movies like she is the funny woman in the Proposal, a serious undercover cop from
Miss Congeniality, or a loving, caring mother in The Blind Side. Thus, she fits into the role categories

her home and family. The scene is highly emotional with Leigh Anne (Sandra Bullock) being sassy,
mean, truthful, emotional, sweet, and defensive because her friends make rude comments about

The Setting Of Dracula By William Shakespeare
Activity 1
The setting of Dracula took place in Transylvania at Castle Dracula and travels over to Whitby. The
author decided to pick this place because this was the birthplace of the Dracula stories. By using this it
connected more with the original stories of Dracula instead of taking it somewhere else and make it
more of a duplicate. While reading this book it made me feel like I was up and close to Dracula. If the
setting would have taken place in a different place it would just have been another vampire book and
not about Dracula himself. Activity 2
Two characters that should be brought to the light are Count Dracula and Van Helsing. Count Dracula,
or Dracula for short, is an old vampire as well as a Transylvania citizen. Since he is a vampire he is
possessed with a dark entity. This curse comes with both powers and burdens. As a vampire he is able
to shape shift to any animal he wants, control the weather, and has the strength of about 20 men. Some
of the burdens that comes with this is that he can t enter a victim s house without being invited in, can
t cross water without being held, and becomes weak when in presence of sunlight. I bent over him,
and tried to find any sign of life, but in vain (pg. 52 53). Between me and the moonlight flitted a great

Clarity Since I was merely six years old other people have controlled my life. It started with a visit to
the doctors where my parents were told that I would never have a normal life, were I would never be
able to socialize, were I would never feel and that I had autism. Now for the first two to three years
after my parents believed what the doctor had said was true. They kept taking me to groups to try and
get me interacting with people but when they saw that their attempts were failing and all I ever did
was sit in the corner and build crazy little things out of Lego and clay whilst the others were listening

Computer Science Is A Hard Concept Of Grasp Because It...
Introduction:
Computer science is a hard concept to grasp because it involves problem solving and logical thinking.
Along with the concepts, coding issues is one of the greatest trouble students will face. Students have
the Teacher Assist room available for them to use to solve these common problems, but they will
mostly encounter another problem. The TA room for the majority of any given day will be
overcrowded with students; the room s maximum capacity is only 32.
In addition to a crowded help room, when students want to sign up for computer science courses for
next semester, they will find that most of their required courses are full along with the wait list near
max capacity. For the summer 2016 semester, one class, Introduction to Computer Systems, already
reached the maximum number of students registered at 40 students along with 50 students on the wait
list. To add this feat, this class was filled up within the two days registration began.
Over the past five years, the number of students majoring in Computer Science at the University of
Maryland has grown rapidly. Class sizes will be larger leading to poor performances in the computer
science student body. Some of these students will graduate with skill sets directed towards declining
careers. The University of Maryland needs to limit the enrollment of students majoring in Computer

Thesis Statement On Capitalism And Capitalism
Introduction
Socialism and capitalism are two concepts that are used by governments in respective countries
regarding how the economies operate. The two concepts are based on political, economic and social
systems. The United States of America is an example of a capitalist country while Sweden is a
socialist nation. Apart from the similarity in which the government plays a role in the effectiveness of
the two systems, there is no discrimination in both systems regarding race, color or other arbitrary
classification. There are notable differences between the two systems based on ownership structure,
equity, and employment.

Canada and Quebec s Conflict Essay example
Canada and Quebec s Conflict
Canada and Quebec have always been in conflict from the confederation of 1867 to the Supreme court
judgement on the secession of Quebec in 1998. Quebec faces several challenges in terms of
constitutional relations with the rest of Canada. Quebec is seeking a special status to preserve and
protect its culture and language, while the rest of English speaking Canada accepts the view of
provincial equality. There have been attempts to recognize Quebec s concerns through constitutional
amendments, but these attempts have not lived up to Quebec s expectations and for the most parts
have failed. Quebec has threatened Canada throughout history with separation from Canada. These
threats have not been ignored, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The conflict Canada and Quebec s search for sovereignty started in the early days of American
settlement. In the 1800s the united colonies of Canada, Canada east (French speaking) and Canada
west ( English speaking) was in constitutional deadlock. The only way out of this deadlock was to
separate or to bring more colonies into confederation. There was much immigration into both Canada
east and Canada west, these new immigrants were primarily English which added to the problem of
linguistics groups. As Canada east grew in population it remained tied to Canada east by a constitution
that shared power equally between the two. The arrangement was becoming ever more difficult
because of the difference in sizes and political power between the two Canada. English speakers called
for representation by population, in other words, each group of people deserved political power that
was equivalent to its proportion to the population. While the French language survived, it had gone
from majority to minority of the population due to immigration. The confederation agreement of 1867,
which included Nova Scotia and New Brunswick gave both the French and English what they wanted
without resorting to separation. The French people of Canada east had more control over their culture ,
were as close to independence as possible at the time. They also gained freedom from domination of
the majority (English speakers of Canada west). The English people gained

The Pros And Cons Of Sex Work
What is sex work? An official definition does not exist, however American Jewish World Service
refers to sex work as the act of providing sexual services in exchange for money, goods, or favors.
There are many different forms of sex work, some are legal and some are illegal. Some are legal in
certain geographic locations, but illegal in others. In this industry, certain labor is more stigmatized
than others. Criminalized sex work, such as prostitution, is very stigmatized. Exotic dancing does not
hold quite the same stigma because it is legal in the United States.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics as of September 2016, there are 400,000 strippers
employed by US strip clubs. Despite the significant amount of woman who work in this industry, there
is a stigma being carried around that is potentially deadly. It has been proven there is a link between
anti sex work rhetoric and an increase of violence against sex workers. (Penfold, Hunter, Campbell,
Barham 2010). A systematic review of the link between sex work and violence determined that 45
75% of sex workers chance experiencing sexual violence at some point in their careers. (Deering et
al., 2014). According to data from Medscape, one in five police reports of sexual assault from an
urban emergency room were filed by sex workers. These women were generally younger, poorer, and
suffered a greater number of injuries than other victims. (Koster 2015). The impact of this rhetoric is

Capitalism and the Natural Environment Essay
Concept of capitalism can be difficult to understand. It is commonly identified by economist and
political philosophers as a system in which the means of production are privately owned and operated
in the free market in exchange for a profit (Galbraith, 1952). The economical/social system determines
the structure of production, the allocation of inputs and outputs, and consumption of goods. Capitalism
remains popular in America because it values freedom, much like the people in our country. This is
true because it allows individuals to set their own plans and pursue their own goals; in addition, one
can decide what career they would enjoy most, thus creating an incentive and reward for achieving
ones ambitions. In a free market, everyone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Capitalism leads to the creation of unprecedented wealth, advanced technology, and wide prosperity.
Yet capitalism is denounced as a system of greed, materialism, and ruthless dog eat dog competition
One positive implication capitalism has to the natural environment is industrial ecology, a system of
chain production and consumption, serving to the lowest environmental impacts in a most
environmentally sustainable economy as the main goal of operation (Richards Pearson, 1998). The
Companies in a like to operate in such way because of four major reasons. The most important factor
is known as the corporate well being, for it is determined by higher profits and growth provided by
innovations in an industry. Profits are increased from recognizing the production ineffiency costs that
comes from wasted inputs and energy losses; this allowing cost savings to increase and ineffiency to
decrease. compliance with cleaner technology alternatives such as ones that produce less waste and
less energy will provide long term savings which are both beneficial to the environment and the
business at hand. A real world example freight company changes their salvaged driving equipment to
hybrid vehicles. Money is temporarily lost, but the gasoline and maintenances cost savings will
compensate in a long run period of time.
Industrial ecological systems are also used because of the consumer demand.

Analysis Of The Poem Howl
Historic Analysis of Howl Howl was a poem written by Allen Ginsberg in 1956. For us to understand
the poem it is necessary for us to understand the history behind the poem. Howl was published in
1956, right after the devastating World War II. After WWII that s when the American dream was in
full force throughout the whole world. Many Immigrants were trying to migrate to the US at that time
for a better living. At the same time media was becoming big and powerful gaining trust from citizens
while television was on its peak being the most important part of the media growth as it exported an
immense number news to consumers. While Americans were busy with the new experience of having,
news transmitted to them on the comfort of their houses, others worked hard to get a movement

My Teaching Philosophy And Philosophy Of Teaching English
In my future career I aspire to teach English for Specific Purposes. These purposes can include
academic English, scientific English, or possibly medical English. I hope to inspire adults to expand
their profession or young adults to pursue a career related to the topic of English, so that they might
share and gain knowledge with others around the world. These students may come from various
backgrounds and L1s (depending on where I teach) and will likely be in an EFL context. Unless I
teach in Canada, and then that would be an ESL classroom.
My speaking philosophy is composed of five main principles. These beliefs have been established
through time spent in classes with reflection on theories, and through personal experiences in
interacting with ESL students.
1. My first belief is that students should use the language authentically.
Students enjoy genuine interactions with people, and that is why they are often motivated to learn a
language, to communicate. In order to communicate, they need to understand how people speak within
that language. Classroom English is not sufficient in the real world and will not help students.
Therefore, if I am teaching science English, then I will have the students go to science ... Show more

In order to combat that, the classroom should be comfortable and inviting to every student. It is vital
that students are given opportunities to speak with each other through various assignments and
activities. They should get to know each so that any embarrassment is minimized. Because speaking
can be very stressful, especially in situations with many colleagues listening (as a medical professional
or any type of professional will encounter), students should be able to have fun and enjoy the learning
experience. It may be hard and stressful, but moments of enjoyment will help students from burning

No Exit By Jean Paul Sartre
The play No Exit, by Jean Paul Sartre is about three people that die and go to hell. Joseph Garcin, a
journalist executed by a firing squad for trying to desert during a war; Inez Serrano, a post office clerk
murdered by her lover which left a gas stove on while she slept; and Estelle Rigault, a woman who
married an older rich man and died due to pneumonia. They all expected physical torture in hell.
However, all they found was a plain room with some furniture that always had the light on, no
windows, no beds, nothing that would reflect or work as a mirror. The three of them were trapped
inside the room. After discussing among themselves, they confessed their crimes and deduced that the
torture was psychological. They also realized that they had been placed together so that each of them
was to become the torturer of the other two. Each character began to ask things from the others to
fulfill a need they all had, which only led them to more despair. Due to this, Garcin concluded that hell
is other people (pag26). A. Petrusso argues in his article No Exit that the three main characters of the
play have in common a display of cowardice. Certainly, all of them seem to be cowards at some
moment and one character exhibits it more than the others. He also argues that certain actions and
behaviors are merely the cowardice of the character when in fact, it rather seems more like fear. The
examples and arguments used by Petrusso seem to simply catalog the main characters as

Mutual Mistakes In Business Law Essay
Mutual Mistakes in Contract Law
This situation raises some questions for me. Did the manufacturer notify the dealers of the fact that
they were making these changes to the cars? Where the dealers told that the manufacturer was going
to stop making the 3.9 liter as well as the 3.2 liter engines and planned to replace the engines with a
3.5 liter engine. If the dealer had was informed of the changes, why didn t the salesperson know this
information. Or did the salesperson know and just forgot to tell the customer. Was the information in
any of the paperwork for the car?
Yes both parties in this sales contract should be able to resend the contract due to mutual mistake of
facts. Mistake of facts is when both parties enter into an agreement under a mistake as to a matter of
fact essential to the agreement, almost to the point where it s a completely different agreement,
making the agreement voidable. A mutual mistake occurs when the parties to a contract are both
mistaken about some material fact pertaining to their contract. I m that if the dealer knew the car they

could come to an agreement on a different price for the car that offers a better engine but also worse
fuel economy for Josh. It may be necessary to make a deal for an entirely different car all together,
that way all the facts will be known upfront and Josh can get the fuel economy he wants at a price that
both he and the dealer can be happy with. Either way Josh reserves the right to completely walk away

Amelia Ehart-Personal Narrative
I am tenacious. The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity Amelia
Earhart. That day was perfectly preserved in my mind. The air was cold, the kind of cold that burns
your lungs with every inhale and exhale. The bitter wind numbed my ears, and sent shivers down my
spine. The sky was dull and colorless over the track. Nobody was really thrilled about the idea of
practice that day. We huddled around the gate of the track, waiting for practice to start, trying not to
think about how we were freezing. Once it was time to warm up and run our dreaded two laps it wasn
t as miserable, until the wind blew, then it left us feeling like the air was being sucked from our lungs.
We all felt the exhaustion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All the time and hard work spent had to pay off for something. I was also determined to beat my
biggest rival on the team. She wouldn t hesitate to smear my face in it if she got a faster time than me.
We stepped up to the 200 meter starting line and I tried to push the nervous thoughts out of my head. It
felt like butterflies were bouncing off the walls of my stomach. We got into the start position and our
coach began counting down from 5. It was only 5 seconds but it felt like an eternity. The four of us
took off in unison and I could tell I was going to have to give this race everything I had. There was no
way I was going to let the others defeat me. I heard the pounding of my feet against the track as I ran
the curve. That s when I realized I was already in front of the rest and I began sprinting with every
ounce of energy I had left. There were nearly 100 meters to the finish line and my legs were moving
so fast it felt as if I was flying. I kept thinking about how much I had been working towards this and
how I would not let myself down. Bolting through the finish line I could tell that was one of the best
races I ve ever run. My lungs felt heavy, legs aching from exhaustion and my eyes were watering from
the frigid wind. As my coach was recording my time on his clipboard he revealed how many seconds
faster I had been. Not only had I beaten my own personal best, but I had gotten the fastest sub varsity
time.

  • 2. More Space Shuttle Experiments Take Flight Summary The article More Space Shuttle Experiments Take Flight, talks about a unique mentorship program for the ages of elementary children. The mentorship program prepares experiments that have been conducted in flight on space shuttle missions, students have the chance to study simulations that have happened in space in a classroom setting. For example, students study the effect of spaceflight on seeds and brine shrimp germinated/ hatched in the classroom. The article includes the students and the teachers, it is a nationwide mentorship program that is engaging students to move on to the next set of space shuttle experiment studies. Several schools are participating in these different series of space shuttle experiments and the experiments vary depending on the age level and interest. What I love about these space shuttle experiments is the fact that the students and teachers are involved together. There is communication throughout all the schools involved and unanswered questions are always given an answer. When students in the classroom are given an experiment like this, it is going to create a learning environment that is enjoyable for learners. The author of the article, Robert ... • 3. Crack Cocaine And Drug Addiction The drug crack cocaine is the crystalized form of cocaine that normally comes in a powder form. Smoking crack cocaine, which is way stronger than crack itself, permits the drug to reach the brain faster which brings a strong and almost instantaneous high that endures for approximately fifteen minutes. Because crack cocaine addiction can develop quicker if the substance is smoked rather than inhaled, the user can develop an addiction after their first time even experiencing the drug. Crack cocaine has a high cost, while crack alone is traded at low cost. Once a crack cocaine user is addicted, the amount that they tend to use increases and the price also increases causes a direct struggle for funds in order to pay. The definitions of crack cocaine addictions can vary, but most incorporate the fact that as a staple norm the persistent use of a drug notwithstanding the presence of undesirable and damaging consequences and concerns for the user s well being, employment, financial stability, and relationships/associations. The significant component of crack cocaine is the users craving and loss of control, indicating the failure of the user to change their uncontrollable behavior. From doing research on this topic, I found that cocaine addiction was once assumed to be mainly mental in nature. In the book that we read in class, Fast Lives by Claire Sterk, she challenges the common misperceptions of crack cocaine and shows us through study that the common perceptions that we have ... • 4. Network Design And Organizational Goals Network design and organizational goals are and will always be intertwined. The success of the network design team and of the organization is a burden they both share. I was tasked to design a network for a client, who recently bought an existing building to house a medium size business. This building has five floors, each floor has twenty thousand square feet totaling one hundred thousand square feet overall. The business will initially employee two thousand employees and within the building, my client will need a medium size data center. The focus of this paper is to show what items to consider, how I would plan it and new considerations based on what I have learned in the course. Hopefully, I will have demonstrated the necessary considerations in designing a network from the ground up. I will use PPDIOO approach for networks. The six phases of a networks life cycle are as follows Prepare, Plan, Design, Implement, Operate and Optimize. My design considerations will be based on the customer s needs; therefore, the customer s success rest solely upon the attention to details about organizational goals and constraints. During the prepare phase, I will learn the short term and long term goals as well as the customers expectation of the design s outcome for the company. My analysis of the organization should show activities, products, processes, services...etc. that will strengthen the network design, increase the success of the project and confirm the cost of network design ... • 5. First Crusades Dbq Before the first Crusade, Western Europe had become a place with not much progress, confined from other civilizations and hidden in the Dark Ages that had gone down on Western Christendom after the collapse of the Roman Empire. At the time of the first Crusade, the Middle East and Western Europe were greatly divided. The Crusades contributed to the end of Western Europe s global isolation by introducing an era in which Western Europe came into direct contact with the large trade routes that united their civilization with Asia. The Crusades introduced many Western Europeans to trading. Many goods flowed along these trade routes such as spices, silk, cotton, paper, medicines and other endless amounts of products. The trade created a high demand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These reasons resulted in what became a prosperous first crusade led by the Pope himself. The political reasons ranged from a desire for adventure to the land of Jerusalem, wanting to gain more power, and other economic rationales. By the end of the first crusade, the Crusaders were victorious in stripping more than forty silver candelabra and more than twenty gold ones in the Dome of the Rock. The economic reasons included gaining more wealth, land, riches and multiple goods. The Pope claims that the Crusaders must ...rush quickly as [they] can to the defence of the Eastern Church and that it s ...a beautiful thing to die for Christ... . The religious reasons the Crusaders thought to be true was that the crusade was God s call for the Christian brothers to accomplish their attack on the Muslims. The Muslims were filled with grief as the Arab Historian, Ibn al Athir, recalls that ...the Franks slaughtered more than 70,000 people...women and children taken prisoner, the homes pillaged... . Unlike the rejoice in the documents and articles from the Crusaders perspectives, the Muslim perspective felt sorrow for those who died innocently. The Crusaders destroyed an extensive portion the Jerusalem land and population, taking away valuable riches and treasures from the Holy Land. While later crusades failed to accomplish that of the crusade led by Pope Urban III, I greatly believe that the first crusade was a great ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

During the reign of King Jeroboam II, he was commission by God to go to Nineveh and tell them to repent of their wicked ways. While it is not known, who wrote the book of Jonah is it widely believed to be have been penned by the prophet himself. The passage I have chosen takes place after the people of Nineveh repent and God has shown compassion for them. Jonah is stubbornly angry at God s compassion and leaves Nineveh. The passage picks up with Jonah sulking on a hill overlooking the city. • 7. Creationist Argument Against Creationism As seen from the infographic, Creationism meets absolutely none of the requirements to be considered a science; for instance, Creationism has no physical evidence, is not repeatable, and has no backing from any other branch of science. In this specific instance, evolution is the comparative to Creationism. Unlike its counterpart, evolution can be repeatedly tested because it is still happening to this day while the beliefs of Creationism seem to have occurred only once. Additionally, if Creationism was to have any evidence, it would probably be the Bible, but not even that has scientific backing. Along with this Creationism cannot be backed by any branch of science, due to the fact that it does not follow the scientific method. Due to this, Creationism cannot be considered a science and in turn cannot be taught in place of a science curriculum. Despite this, Creationists still press for some form of their religious beliefs to be taught in the public school system. Fundamentalist Creationists do not stop at just asking for Creationism to be taught in public schools, as mentioned before, sometimes they turn to extremes. First, it is beneficial to understand the basis on which Creationists attempt to discredit science. One of the most common misconceptions from Creationism is that it is a suitable scientific alternative to the evolutionary theory. This is simply not true, as evident from the aforementioned infographic. Using this as the foundation for their argument, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Solon s Influence On Athenian Democracy Greeks have always been the source of many impressive ideas, inventions, and creations. Their society was the first to form a fair system and government called Democracy . One of the founders of Democracy is Solon, an Athenian statesman, lawmaker, and poet .He s known for having laid the foundations for Athenian democracy and for his efforts to legislate against the archaic Draco laws. Solon was born in Athens in 638 B.C. He belonged to a Eupatrid family in which his father was Execestides and his lineage, therefore could be traced back to Codrus, the last King of Athens. Today, Solon is often mentioned as one of the founders of Democracy including Cleisthenes and Pericles. They re the three men who slowly carved and improved the Democracy that will later be used in the rest of world especially in the U.S Democracy. This is the definition for anxiety from a text book stand point. Someone that has or has experienced anxiety would describe it differently. An anxiety problem can be developed through genetics, past life events, and personality. Anxiety can be broken down into six different branches: generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, phobia, post traumatic stress disorder, and social anxiety disorder. • 10. Similarities Between China And Classical India Although both Classical India and China developed unique approaches to developing aspects of society and government, some similarities inevitably existed. Cultural diffusion was partly responsible for this, as trade and Buddhist ideals influenced each culture directly and indirectly. The Chinese and Indian civilizations executed similar practices and beliefs, such as the idealistic role of women, wide divisions between social classes, and the influence of Buddhism. However, discrepancies existed between the rigidity of hierarchy and gender roles, and the impacts of religion and philosophy in government. While India focused more on religion, China leaned towards secularism. In Classical India, Hinduism was widely popular. Generally, there were a large amount of peasants and laborers at the bottom, and ultimately few people could hold power. India was governed more strictly than China through the caste system, where one would be born into a strict socioeconomic level, and there was no room for movement. Marriage and interactions were restricted to people in one s class. On the other hand, China s social hierarchy was more forgiving, as even peasants had the opportunity to move to higher classes through civil service examinations. Furthermore, the religions and philosophies of each region reflected differently on how some groups were organized. For example, merchants in China had a different status than of merchants in India. In China, Confucian values stressed the moderation of desires, therefore, moneymaking was not popular. Merchants were at the bottom of the class and were often shunned by society. In contrast, India valued its merchants and they were often in higher castes. Overall, these differences in who was valued in society depended heavily on the beliefs of the ... • 11. The Pros And Cons Of Group Health And Kaiser Permanente Founded in 1946, Seattle s Group Health Cooperative was created by doctors and community members who believed that there needed to be a health care program that was affordable, member centered, and held principles of social justice. This cooperative was one that had been successful for many years, but just recently was acquired by the not for profit Kaiser Permanente health care company on February 1, 2017 for 1.8 billion dollars. Although Group Health is a cooperative and Kaiser Permanente is a nonprofit healthcare company, they have similar views on how they run their companies because both have missions to put their members and employees first. • 34. The Pros And Cons Of Sex Work What is sex work? An official definition does not exist, however American Jewish World Service refers to sex work as the act of providing sexual services in exchange for money, goods, or favors. There are many different forms of sex work, some are legal and some are illegal. Some are legal in certain geographic locations, but illegal in others. In this industry, certain labor is more stigmatized than others. Criminalized sex work, such as prostitution, is very stigmatized. Exotic dancing does not hold quite the same stigma because it is legal in the United States. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics as of September 2016, there are 400,000 strippers employed by US strip clubs. Despite the significant amount of woman who work in this industry, there is a stigma being carried around that is potentially deadly. It has been proven there is a link between anti sex work rhetoric and an increase of violence against sex workers. (Penfold, Hunter, Campbell, Barham 2010). A systematic review of the link between sex work and violence determined that 45 75% of sex workers chance experiencing sexual violence at some point in their careers. (Deering et al., 2014). According to data from Medscape, one in five police reports of sexual assault from an urban emergency room were filed by sex workers. These women were generally younger, poorer, and suffered a greater number of injuries than other victims. (Koster 2015). The impact of this rhetoric is qualitatively different depending ... Before And After By Andy Warhol Before and After Andy Warhol Doubtlessly, Marilyn Diptych by Andy Warhol is the symbol of Pop Art movement for me; however, I like to express my reaction to Before and After, 1961, by Andy Warhol. The foremost reason for choosing this piece is I just saw it and my reaction is so fresh! Reading about Andy Warhol and his early stages as an iconic pop artist, Before and After attracts my attention, a black and white big size piece which shows a profile of a woman before and after a nose plastic surgery. Arthur C. Danto believes Andy Warhol is a person who can make an art piece out of nothing. Before Warhol, Before and After would have been a piece of boilerplate commercial art, whose maker would be long forgotten. (Dante, 2) I agree ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Capitalism and the Natural Environment Essay Concept of capitalism can be difficult to understand. It is commonly identified by economist and political philosophers as a system in which the means of production are privately owned and operated in the free market in exchange for a profit (Galbraith, 1952). The economical/social system determines the structure of production, the allocation of inputs and outputs, and consumption of goods. Capitalism remains popular in America because it values freedom, much like the people in our country. This is true because it allows individuals to set their own plans and pursue their own goals; in addition, one can decide what career they would enjoy most, thus creating an incentive and reward for achieving ones ambitions. In a free market, everyone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Capitalism leads to the creation of unprecedented wealth, advanced technology, and wide prosperity. Profits are increased from recognizing the production ineffiency costs that comes from wasted inputs and energy losses; this allowing cost savings to increase and ineffiency to decrease. compliance with cleaner technology alternatives such as ones that produce less waste and less energy will provide long term savings which are both beneficial to the environment and the business at hand. • 38. My Teaching Philosophy And Philosophy Of Teaching English In my future career I aspire to teach English for Specific Purposes. These purposes can include academic English, scientific English, or possibly medical English. I hope to inspire adults to expand their profession or young adults to pursue a career related to the topic of English, so that they might share and gain knowledge with others around the world. These students may come from various backgrounds and L1s (depending on where I teach) and will likely be in an EFL context. Unless I teach in Canada, and then that would be an ESL classroom. My speaking philosophy is composed of five main principles. These beliefs have been established through time spent in classes with reflection on theories, and through personal experiences in interacting with ESL students. 1. My first belief is that students should use the language authentically. Students enjoy genuine interactions with people, and that is why they are often motivated to learn a language, to communicate. In order to communicate, they need to understand how people speak within that language. Classroom English is not sufficient in the real world and will not help students. • 39. No Exit By Jean Paul Sartre The play No Exit, by Jean Paul Sartre is about three people that die and go to hell. Joseph Garcin, a journalist executed by a firing squad for trying to desert during a war; Inez Serrano, a post office clerk murdered by her lover which left a gas stove on while she slept; and Estelle Rigault, a woman who married an older rich man and died due to pneumonia. They all expected physical torture in hell. However, all they found was a plain room with some furniture that always had the light on, no windows, no beds, nothing that would reflect or work as a mirror. The three of them were trapped inside the room. After discussing among themselves, they confessed their crimes and deduced that the torture was psychological. They also realized that they had been placed together so that each of them was to become the torturer of the other two. Each character began to ask things from the others to fulfill a need they all had, which only led them to more despair. Due to this, Garcin concluded that hell is other people (pag26). A. Petrusso argues in his article No Exit that the three main characters of the play have in common a display of cowardice. Certainly, all of them seem to be cowards at some moment and one character exhibits it more than the others. He also argues that certain actions and behaviors are merely the cowardice of the character when in fact, it rather seems more like fear. The examples and arguments used by Petrusso seem to simply catalog the main characters as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. Mutual Mistakes In Business Law Essay Mutual Mistakes in Contract Law This situation raises some questions for me. Did the manufacturer notify the dealers of the fact that they were making these changes to the cars? Where the dealers told that the manufacturer was going to stop making the 3.9 liter as well as the 3.2 liter engines and planned to replace the engines with a 3.5 liter engine. If the dealer had was informed of the changes, why didn t the salesperson know this information. Or did the salesperson know and just forgot to tell the customer. Was the information in any of the paperwork for the car? Yes both parties in this sales contract should be able to resend the contract due to mutual mistake of facts. Mistake of facts is when both parties enter into an agreement under a mistake as to a matter of fact essential to the agreement, almost to the point where it s a completely different agreement, making the agreement voidable. A mutual mistake occurs when the parties to a contract are both mistaken about some material fact pertaining to their contract. Maybe they could come to an agreement on a different price for the car that offers a better engine but also worse fuel economy for Josh. It may be necessary to make a deal for an entirely different car all together, that way all the facts will be known upfront and Josh can get the fuel economy he wants at a price that both he and the dealer can be happy with. I heard the pounding of my feet against the track as I ran the curve. That s when I realized I was already in front of the rest and I began sprinting with every ounce of energy I had left. There were nearly 100 meters to the finish line and my legs were moving so fast it felt as if I was flying.
