Mediterranean And The Tundra Compare And Contrast
Climates can be described as weather conditions that exist in over an extended period of time. The
Mediterranean and the Tundra are two of many climates that exist all over the world. .The
Mediterranean is located near the western side of continents, and the Tundra is found along the coast
of the Arctic ocean. Among the two there are many similarities and differences.
The Mediterranean doesn t experience very harsh weather, therefore the climate is mild. There are
only two seasons which are summer and winter. The seasonal changes that this area experiences are
due to changes in ocean currents and water temperatures. Summers in the Mediterranean are dry and
mild, and temperatures average above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Winters are mild and wet, temperatures
during this season are between 30 and 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Large bodies of water and ocean
currents are what cause the Mediterranean climate. During the summer cold currents keep the climate
mild and dry. In the winter warm water moves in and heats the land, but also causes rain. The
Mediterranean is overall a dry climate because the majority of the rain falls ... Show more content on

In the summer snow and ice melt however, some permafrost still remains deep in the ground. The
permafrost prevents snow and ice from absorbing into the ground, so as a result bogs and marshes
form. Winter temperatures in the Tundra can get to as low as 18 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. This polar
climate experiences such harsh temperatures because of its high latitude and indirect sunlight.
Summer temperatures are cool, average temperatures don t go above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. The
tundra doesn t receive very much rain, only about 5 15 inches per year. No trees grow in the tundra
because of the permafrost found deep in the ground. However, animals who are able to survive the
harsh climate are able to live here. These animals include polar bears, snow owls and

Hamlet s Idealism Essay
Hamlet s Idealism
Hamlet is many things: scholar, speaker, actor, and prince. His greatness shows in all of activities,
save one: his inability to act. Hamlet is not able to avenge his father s death without considerable
delay. There is a flaw in Hamlet s character that causes him to postpone the murder of Claudius this
flaw is Hamlet s idealism. While idealism is normally a good trait, in this case, because of the unusual
circumstances, Hamlet s idealism causes great conflicts within him.
He was gifted with a great mind which he uses extensively. Hamlet believes that things should be
inherently good, and that people s motives should be fair. Consequently, he has a great deal of
difficulty in coming to terms with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hence, his morals guide him to be absolutely sure of his uncle s guilt, and not have a hasty,
emotionally based reaction.
Another main reason for Hamlet s delay once again has to do with his morals and idealism. Because
he possesses such a strong mind, he can find many possible causes and effects for everyday affairs.
When dealing with affairs far from ordinary, such as his father s murder, ... the native hue of resolution
is sicklied o er with the pale cast of thought... (Act III sc i).
I suggest also that perhaps Hamlet is not able to truly understand people s evil motives, due to his own
idealistic nature. It would follow, then, that he would have great difficulty in committing an act of
such brutal violence himself. The action which Hamlet has been commanded by the ghost to undertake
goes against Hamlet in a very basic, fundamental way. The fact that Hamlet is a thinking as well as a
feeling person, conscious of the good and bad points in every step he takes, makes the act of revenge
particularly painful for him. Revenge is not Christian, and Hamlet is a Christian Prince; it is not
rational, and Hamlet is a philosopher; it is not gentle, and Hamlet is a gentlemen (Boklund 113).
In the end, however, it is not Hamlet s sense of right and wrong that charges him to vengeance; rather,
his uncle s death occurs in a heat of passion. While he does recognize that

In today s society, much of the resistance for finding ecological solutions comes from those who
would be required to drastically change their policies and business models. In general, an
environmental problem proves politically less difficult to resolve if a marketable solution exists, says
Janicke. In contrast, he says, if a solution to an environmental problem requires an intervention in the
established patterns of production, consumption, or transport, it is likely to meet resistance.
Furthermore, Ecological Modernization states that ecological innovations must meet the following
three qualifications to succeed: First, the solution they propose needs to be to a problem that affects
the global level. Second, it needs to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At times, the jetty is partially or completely submerged, which makes its constantly changing nature
even more apparent. Land Artist Michael Heizer s work plays with the entropic as well. His project,
Double Negative [see Figure 2.5] consists of an enormous tract carved into the earth. With no
framework or scaffolding to hold its shape, the piece is left open to the effects of erosion. In both
Spiral Jetty and Double Negative, the entropic nature of the pieces allow the work to be designed as a
part of the existing landscape yet separated from it. As Rosalind Krauss, art critic and theorist, says,
Spiral Jetty and Double Negative are the combination of landscape and non landscape. It is instead a
physical manipulation of the landscape, a marked site.
Smithson also advocated the use of post industrial sites for his work. For example, Spiral Jetty was
constructed from a ruined site; in fact, the abandoned oil rigs situated nearby were a large part of what
drew his attention to it. Furthermore, what was natural about the site appeared artificial: the water in
the Utah lake was colored an unnatural red by the algae living in it and the earth was cracked and
crusted with salt.

Essay on The Cultural Differences Argument for Moral...
Ruth Villagra
The Cultural Differences Argument for Moral Relativism. Moral Relativism is generally used to
describe the differences among various cultures that influence their morality and ethics. According to
James Rachels, because of moral relativism there typically is no right and wrong and briefly states :
Different cultures have different moral codes. (Rachels, 18) Various cultures perceive right and wrong
differently. What is considered right in one society could be considered wrong in another, but
altogether all cultures have some values in common. In Elements of Moral Philosophy, the author
gives examples of such. For instance, a tribe of Indians known as Callatians ate bodies of their dead
fathers; the Greeks turned to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Rachels, 20) Premises are supposed to support or provide evidence for the conclusion. To summarize,
he believes that there is not one objective truth or a correct way to dispose of the bodies because
although the culture s actions are different, their beliefs have a common value to it. It is possible that
the Callatians believed that through cannibalization, the spirits of their dead fathers would be within
them and by cremating or burying their bodies it would be viewed as a sign of disrespect. ( Rachels,
30) If we were to look at the Eskimos example, Rachels argues that even if in our society infanticide is
seen as cruel and an immoral behavior, it is actually quite logical because they are a nomadic tribe
constantly traveling and rely on the males to hunt and provide for the family the disadvantage would
be having an overpopulation of females. He argues that cultural relativism supports this belief because
moral ethics is just based on different cultures different cultures have different moral codes. There s a
difference in opinion which means that you can t judge the other and that there isn t just one truth of
which is right and wrong. However, Rachels also provides a different example that is actually a logical
flaw that attributes to the Cultural Differences Argument. Some people believe that the earth is flat
and others believe it s round. He argues that because of cultural relativism,

Cuba Communist Government
Assuming that we understand Cuba as a communist country, they obtain the government type known
as a Communist State. A Communist State consist of a classless society, in which the state plans and
controls the economy and a single often authoritarian party holds power; state controls are imposed
with the elimination of private ownership of property or capital while claiming to make progress
toward a higher social order in which all goods are equally shared by the people (cite2). An important
piece of this brief description you should acquire is that states hold most to all property ownership and
rarely handed to the private sector. Therefore, property rights are at a bare minimum for the casual
citizens of Cuba; although, reforms from the government are beginning to change these norms. ...

Popular Power, the State Council, the Council of Ministers, the Supreme Popular Court, and
remainder of the courts (cite1). To add on to this, Cuba s legal system is based the Spanish Civil Code,
which is followed along with other countries such as: Spain, Puerto Rico, and The Philippines. These
countries are not built entirely on this code but drew many principles to form these countries as they

Binary Data Analysis
Satellite sensors send bits of binary data to ground stations on Earth for processing into useful
meteorological and environmental information enabling enhanced decision making capabilities.
Thereby, preventing injuries and fatalities, preserving assets, and reducing time delays. Binary data are
comprised of zeroes and ones. One bit contains either a 0 or a 1 . A single bit, in and of itself, does not
have a lot of value until it is used. The same is true of information. Information does not have value
until it is utilized.
Prior attempts to value information have used deterministic methods. However, these methods have
been less than successful. There tends to be a level of uncertainty associated with information, and ...

This framework can be used to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of various types of data
sources in relation to other types of data sources. For instance, how does data from buoys contributes
to forecast accuracy versus data ingested from microwave, satellite sensors versus measurements
obtained from radio occultation sensors versus observations from sondes, etc. The framework can be
applied at the macro or micro level. Although macro level uses should be considered a rough order of
magnitude. It is important when doing comparisons that the data is normalized at the lowest level
possible (ideally bits) is used. Consistent, standardized data is required for this type of analysis.
Dollarizing the results is optional. Pegging the results to a currency will provide a benchmark for
accessing the value of meteorological and environmental information enabling better valuation
assessments from source to source and program to program. The pegging can be altered as better
insights are gained from actual results. In this case, the data were pegged to a less volatile digital
currency. The currency is less stable than the dollar (currently), but then information downlinked from
satellites is less stable than the words printed in a book. The selected digital currency has been tested
as a valid method for transmitting data and conducting transactions. In addition, pegging to a

Examples Of Tension In An Inspector Calls
Pick out three key moments in the first two acts of An Inspector Calls and analyze how Priestly
controls tension and suspense.
In An Inspector Calls Priestley manipulates tension and suspense to give us insight on his political and
social views (eg. the class system). He builds up tension and suspense during the course of the acts
ending with a cliffhanger, leaving the audience curious and guessing as to what would happen next.
For example, the Inspector s entrance where Priestley creates tension by using lighting. The lighting
initially pink and intimate , possibly conveying the idea of the Birlings and Gerald looking at life
through rose tinted glasses. They are shown to be idealistic near the start of the play, ignoring the
cracks in Gerald and Sheila s relationship ( except for all last summer, when you never came near me )
but the light becomes harsh right before the Inspector enters, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Before this, she is shown as a docile submissive girl ( I m sorry, Daddy ) and the change would come
across as a great shock to the audience. Sheila interrupts Gerald when he says Now listen darling
which makes the audience understand the gravity of the situation. Sheila s argumentative tone which
is juxtaposed with Gerald s silence ( He does not reply ) builds an ominous mood and elevates Sheila s
anger. The argument ends before we are given substantial information, leaving us with incomplete
information and wanting to know more.
The stage direction of The door slowly opens , a metaphor for the Inspector slowly exposing each
piece of the information increases the levels of suspense in the room leaving the audience to think
about what has just happened. The Well? by the Inspector is short and simple, a contrast to the
argument between Gerald and Sheila. The rhetorical question the Inspector asks is what Priestley
wants the audience to think as well as the act ends with a

Dangerous Sugar Hazards Ahead: Killer Candy
Bombs of sugar are hurled at you, the pins of grenades of artificial preservatives have been pulled,
bugs of all sort have surrounded you, no matter where you look these are all in the health killer called
candy. For instance candy upholds too much sugar; according to my calculations and the nutrition
facts from the Twix official packaging one minis Twix bar is 1.79 ounces yet about 10% (or 5 grams)
of the bar is pure sugar aside from the artificial ingredients in the rest of the bar. For some people
eating all that sugar from the chocolate, caramel, and cookie just overloads their mouth. In spite of
eating sugar, once you eat at least six Twix bars the sugar adds up to drinking a pop of soda.

Amyloid Synthesis
Amyloid beta (Aβ) is a short peptide contains 37 to 43 amino acids and is well known for its
hypothesized role in causing pathogenesis of AD, since one of the main hallmarks of AD is the
accumulation of fibrillogenic Aβ in the grey matter of the brain (14 15). Meanwhile, over 90% of AD
patients have cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) which is characterized by the deposition of Aβ in
capillaries, arteries, and arterioles (16 17). CAA causes the degeneration of smooth muscle cells and
leads haemorrhages (17).
Aβ is generated by proteolytic processing from its precursor, the amyloid precursor protein (APP),
which is a type I oriented membrane protein and its splicing variants include APP695, APP714,
APP751, APP770 (18 21). The isoforms APP751 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The processing of APP involves three proteases, α , β , and γ secretases and two processing pathways,
the amyloidogenic pathway and the anti amyloidogenic pathway as shown in Figure 2 (14, 23). The
Aβ is generated in amyloidogenic pathway which is mediated by β , and γ secretases (14). The β
secretase first sheds the ectodomain of APP and generates the APP carboxy terminal fragment (βCTF)
(14). Then the γ secretase cuts at the transmembrane region of βCTF and releases the Aβ into the
extracellular fluids like cerebrospinal fluid or plasma (14, 24). In the anti amyloidogenic pathway α
secretase first cuts at the middle region of Aβ so a trauncated APP CTF (αCTF) is generated and after
the transmembrane cut of γ secretase, a truncated Aβ peptide is released (p3) (Figure 2; 25). The
amyloidogenic and anti amyloidogenic competes with each other (26 27). In addition, when the γ
secretase cuts at the transmembrane region of APP, the cut site is not restricted to a single position.
The γ secretase first cuts at

This report provides in depth look into Wiggo current business strategy and Indonesian grocery retail
market condition in order to assess the feasibility and provide strategic marketing plan for Wiggo to
enter Indonesian market.
Key to this plan is the opportunity of business in Indonesia as an emerging market and top 10 most
attractive destinations for FDI in UNCTAD s World Investment Prospects Survey in 2010. Macro and
micro economic analysis uncovered that
Indonesia is an attractive market for Wiggo s business expansion though attention should be paid to
infrastructure support, widespread corruption and social stability issue.
Like most Asian countries, Indonesian grocery retail market is far from saturation. There are much
scope for modern format retailers to increase penetration in suburban area and second tier cities.
Competition would be expected in
Wiggo s business segment which is medium supermarket size with the massive local retailer s
expansion. This retail sector will achieve double substantial growth with expected amount of
US$70.73 billion in 2015.
To create and increase brand awareness, make product affordable and appealing for Indonesian market
to capture 1% of market share in 5 years, the following marketing mix is suggested:
1. Product: Localization of products, imitating local supermarket in product selection and store
display, providing fresh food and

Analysis Of The Visual Motorcycle Boy Tazso
The visual Motercycle Boy by Tamas Dezso suggests that as one ventures off to purses their ambition,
one also sacrifices the security with others and familiarity with that which they had. Tamas uses
converging lines toward the destination to give the feeling of a seeming endlessness extinding in front
of the boy towards his goal, yet sets the boy looking back at his progress and accomplishment. This
induces a feeling of empathy as we realize that despite the difficulty and path ahead of him, we share a
feeling of success and ambition from the boy. Though despite this, as he looks back to what hes left
behind, the influence of chasing this ambition is clear and we share his sense of determination as he

The Principles Of Systems Analysis
Unit 11 Systems analysis Design 29/09/2014 The principles of systems analysis Iain s Co Iain s Co.
are a large building company that currently employ a team of IT technicians to help them manage their
IT infrastructure and their IT users. They recently have taken over a similar small company that
employs technical staff in the same way. Iain s Co. feel that they need a centralised IT support system
that will monitor, track and report problems that have been identified by their IT users across both
sites. Iain s Co. have hired me as their Systems Analyst to provide them better solutions to manage
their IT Supports system. What is systems analysis and how are systems analysed? Systems analysis is
when business hire individuals to analyse their systems to determine what issues are present with their
current systems and provide a solution that will fix the issues. In order to discover the issues with the
system, the analyst must be able to interact with the business to identify how their current systems
work. This means that a systems analyst must have complete access to their databases as well as being
allowed to interact with employees. The main reason why the systems analyst would need to interact
with the employees is so they are able to find the strengths and weaknesses of the system. This is
useful to them as they will be able to identify what areas of the system need to be changed and what
areas should be kept the same. My Recommendations for Iain s Co In

Argument Against Solitary Confinement
The concern of the effects solitary confinement has on those who experience it has also called up the
opinions of religious figures. Pope Francis condemned solitary confinement and all capital punishment
sometime in October 2014. Roughly translated by Jean Casella on solitarywatch.com the Pope said,
One form of torture is sometimes applied by imprisonment in maximum security prisons. With the
motive of providing greater security to the community or special treatment for certain categories of
prisoners, its main feature is none other than the isolation. As demonstrated by studies carried out by
different human rights bodies, the lack of sensory stimuli, the complete lack of communication and the

The new rules also dictate that the longest a prisoner can be punished with solitary confinement for a
first offense is 60 days, rather than the current maximum of 365 days. The president s reforms apply
broadly to the roughly 10,000 federal inmates serving time in solitary confinement, though there are
only a handful of juvenile offenders placed in restrictive housing each year. The Washington Post also
writes what this reform sets out to do, While Obama is leaving the details of policy implementation to
agency officials, the Justice Department s report includes 50 guiding principles that all federal
correctional facilities must now follow. They include increasing the amount of time inmates placed in
solitary can spend outside their cells, housing prisoners in the least restrictive setting necessary to
ensure their safety and that of others, putting inmates who need to be in protective custody in less
restrictive settings and developing policies to discourage putting inmates in solitary during the last 180

Salary Caps In Professional Sports
Salary caps are a very important tool used in professional sports. All 4 major professional sports
leagues in the United States have a salary cap installed into their collective bargaining agreement
between the league and its players. Those four major sports are, the NFL, the NBA, the MLB and the
NHL. A salary cap is defined as s an agreement or rule that places a limit on the amount of money that
a team can spend on players salaries. It can be as a per player limit or a total limit for the team s roster.
It is basically put in place to help the small market teams stay competitive. It is meant so the wealthy

It is also a market that is relatively untapped (e commerce groceries) while at the same time servicing

Sacred Twins Movie Analysis
Sacred Twins, Profane Treatment This is the story of the sacred twins, Thaues and Taous, and the
events that lead to them becoming the attendants of the Apis bull, as recounted in a letter written by
Ptolemaios to Ptolemy VI.The film is a tale of murder, betrayal, theft and the gods, and includes
scenes daily Egyptian life that create ties between the modern viewer and ancient Egypt. One of the
central themes of the film is the economic activity that surrounds spiritual life in Egypt and the temple
complexes. Another major theme is the legal structure that developed in Egypt around economic
activity and family law. These two aspects combine to form the major structure underpinning the girl s
narrative, creating a fascinating look at life in Ptolemaic Egypt. Temple complexes in Egypts
functioned as market places for a diverse range of goods and services. People would travel to the city
of Sakkara to seek answers to their prayers, bringing coins with them that were quickly spent in the
city. Pilgrims could purchase charms, potions, and favors from the gods, converting their gold or silver
coins into a less temporal, religious currency. This attracted merchants and craftsman to the temples,
creating an entire economy devoted to serving the visitors. A ceremony such as the Apis bull funeral
depicted in the film would draw in far greater numbers of pilgrims and provide an economic boom for
the temple economy. Service in an ancient Egyptian temple complex also included

Child Beauty Pageants Are Harmful
Why Child Beauty Pageants are Harmful Beauty pageants have been around for some time and have
even become apart of our American society, however parents don t realize or comprehend the risk they
are taking with their children. Society has made the beauty pageant industry seem appealing,
especially with shows like Toddlers and Tiaras . Meanwhile, young girls are being forced to grow up
in an environment where they are taught to look and act like adults. Instead of having normal
encounters with costumes, high heels, and makeup, they are being forced by their mothers to wear
tight sexualizing dresses, more makeup than most women, and even false teeth to present themselves
as beautiful. These factors could lead these children to have depression,

Example Of A Shaman Research Paper
We learned through many years of practice or through practices of firing someone of the simplest
illness to a very severe illness through many different types of practice. We see how the science of
medicine to the works of tribes and cultures utilize their own resources made available to them and
using their resources in order to cure someone of an illness. We see how shamans heal, they often heal
by working with a spirit or a soul, using mother nature such as rocks, trees, and the nutrients the earth
has provided along with the knowledge and information that is passed down from generation to
generation by their ancestors. We see how often shamans must communicate with the spirit that will
help them in order to proceed with a cure for the ill person. The effectiveness of a shaman is generally
measured by the results he or she is able to achieve. The actual techniques and methods of the shaman
are so unique that there is no way to see if the shaman and their technique actually works if you can
not honestly put faith in the shaman. Using tools other than the nature such as drums, rattles, and

Racial Disparities In The Justice System
I m interested in this topic because it s a topic we talk about but ignore., watching young Hispanic

an absolute disgrace to this country. I like it because I sometimes ask myself will I a victim of not only
racial profiling but encounter racial injustice. Will my brother get gunned down by an officer while

population is ethnic or racial minority. informing the audience about racial disparities in our justice

Walt Disney at the Beginning
You walk into the living room and you hear the famous Disney music coming from the television that
your child is placed in front of. You start to wonder where did your favorite Disney movies came
from? How did they come about into the human world or how were they produced? What was Walt
Disney s childhood like when he was younger that made him want to animate and put together
cartoons and movies? Where did his career start off from and how did he get to such a place. But the
more important question, who is taking over now that Walt Disney has passed? Who is keeping on the
traditions of Mickey and all of his famous characters? These are some questions that I set out to look
more upon of Walt Disney. In what I ve researched is what is going to be presented to you in Walt
Disney: A Key to Childhood Hearts. On December 5th. 1901 in the town of Chicago, Illinois a baby
boy was born with the name of Walter Elias Disney, or as we know, Walt Disney. Growing up as a
child Walt s father, Elias, was a very strict and religious man. His father would physically beat him
and his siblings if any sort of toys, drawings, or any type of entertainment was found around the
house. His wife, Flora, feared him too. When Walt was born his father was a construction worker and
his mother a stay at home mom to five Disney children. His father later then took up a farm in
Marceline, Missouri where they then moved to. Walter always loved all the animals on the farm and
felt like they were his friends.

The Zone Diet And Protein Analysis
Earlier we learned that water is the main chemical in our bodies. Coming in number two is protein.
The word protein actually means first substance due to the fact that the first food fuel we ever
consumed was our mother s milk. Milk is the only food specifically designed to sustain mammalian
life and therefore human life. Milk has two protein groups:
Whey which is the complete protein that makes milk so essential to life and;
Casein which is used for manufacturing cheese and other milk by products.
One of the problems you can have in understanding protein is that there is so much information out
there on protein, most of it contradictory, most of it wrong. It s time that you had the truth about
protein; just the facts and nothing but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2. Single Free Form Amino Acids
Single free form amino acids are manufactured through fermentation by microorganisms in large
biological chambers. These can be manufactured as pharmaceutical grade pure injectables or as food
grade products. As food products, amino acids they are very costly, taste terrible, have poor mixability,
high digestive irritability and are absorbed relatively slowly.
3. Soy Protein
As scientists we find it particularly vexing that there is so much information being peddled by
marketing companies regarding soy protein being the best source of protein for women. This is due to
the fact that soy is a BIG business in the US. And soy manufacturers actually have lobbyists on the
payroll helping to create the big lie. There is no other way to state the facts other than to say that
calling soy the best, most complete protein for women is totally inaccurate as it is missing a highly
critical amino acid, methionine. Facts are facts and there is no way to dispute this

Animal Rights And The Rights Of Animals
For many years now the world has seen controversy over the rights of animals and if they think and
feel like humans do. Many people see animals as mindless creatures or as food, while others think
they have emotions and can feel pain. In other countries animal protection laws are in place that are
strictly enforced and seem to work well with the system. In the United States however; some of the
animal rights laws are considered to be useless and under enforced (Animal Legal Historical Center).
More people today are beginning to see that animals should have rights and should be protected by
laws and regulations (Animal Legal Historical Center). Sadly there are many people residing in the
United States who don t take animal rights or protection laws seriously. These people abuse animals in
many ways, including food industries that disobey the regulations set in place for the slaughter of
animals used for consumption. Luckily for the animals there are people who fight for their rights and
the enforcement of laws called animal rights activists.
The controversy over the rights of animals continues today within the United States. There has always
been a question about the emotions of animals. Can animals feel and exhibit emotions in the same way
that humans do? Some people agree that animals do show signs of intelligence and emotions like love
and pain. After all there are bird breeds who mate with only one partner during their lifespan giving us

Analysis Of The Movie Iron Jawed Angels By Martin...
There have been many great activist in history, fighting against the oppression of African Americans.
Martin Luther King Jr is famous for his I have a dream speech that took place on August 28, 1963. Dr.
King led to the ending of the legal segregation among black and white people. In Dr. Kings essay
Three ways of Responding to Oppression, he clearly states three ways to deal with oppression. Dr.
King believed the best defense against oppression being that of nonviolent resistance. The film Iron
Jawed Angels (IJA) is also great example of oppression with the struggle to women rights in the
United States. Mr. King stated that there are three ways of oppression that oppressed people deal with,
acquiescence, physical violence, and nonviolent resistance. One must come out of their comfort zone
in order to see new and in most cases better outcomes. Mr. King said, In every movement towards
freedom some of the oppressed prefer to remain oppressed . This is exactly what happens in some
cases, where the person prefers to continue with the unjust being done just because they know no
other way or because they have become so accustom to that life style. For example, slaves started to
get so use to being just slaves that they would not protest to try to have a better life style. Some did not
think that they could have a better life, or even thought they did not deserve a better life since they had
been told so many times. In the film IJA, they give a great example with the senators

Essay Before Breakfast by Eugene O Neill
Before Breakfast
Before Breakfast is a short gloomy play by Eugene O Neill. Eugene O Neill was born in 1888 in New
York City. He is the only American dramatist to ever win the Nobel Prize for literature. Before
Breakfast is set in the Greenwich Village section of New York City, in a small one room flat on
Christopher Street. The flat consists of a kitchen and dinning area. There are only two characters in
this drama. Mrs. Roland who is the only speaking character and her husband Alfred. Alfred s hand is
seen once in the play, but not much else. This is symbolic of an absentee husband or a non existent
marriage. Although, Alfred is not seen, he contributes a great deal to the conflict. With only Mrs.
Rowland on stage, O Neill ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The child, the reason the couple married, born dead. Alfred unable to sell his writings, is depressed.
His depression contributes to a self destructive lifestyle, dragging his wife along with him. It was
inevitable the marriage would fail.
Mrs. Rowland, the protagonist, is portrayed as the stereotypical nagging wife. While a flat character,
she is very realistic. Her level of diction implies her lack of education, she is also bitter towards her
husband. Her bitterness is not unfounded. Alfred is of no help, Heaven knows I do my part and more
going out sewing every day while you play the gentleman and loaf around bar rooms with that good
for nothing lot of artists from the Square (Jacobs 1211). Mrs. Rowland s husband is adulterous and can
not hold down a job. Mrs. Rowland loves her husband, although she does not like the way he treats
her. She exhibited love by continually enabling him, paying the rent, providing food, and cleaning up
after him. She regards Alfred s depression as laziness. Not that I ve got any doubts about your being
lazy enough to stay in bed forever (Jacobs 1211). After learning Alfred s lover Helen, is pregnant, her
frustration and disappointments only intensify.
Alfred the antagonist is a flat character, but also very realistic. He is the stereotypical insensitive,
substandard husband. Mrs. Rowland thought that Alfred loved her when he didn t let his father buy her
off. Alfred was suppose to be

The University Of The Ozarks
The Student Government Association, a student lead organization aimed to improve the campus
community, has established several goals they would like to accomplish during the current school
year, 2015 2016. In order to determine these goals and objectives, two detailed persona profiles were
created which provided the association with a better understanding of their audiences and how to best
communicate with them. The publics were divided into two groups, students pertaining to the senate
and students pertaining to the student body. Therefore, the next stage consists in performing research
regarding the goals SGA has established by conducting surveys and focus groups on campus. As
mentioned previously, SGA works closely with two different publics. The first and primary publics are
the officers and senators of the association, whereas the second publics consist of the rest of the
student body at the University of the Ozarks. The characteristic which differentiate the first from the
second public is that senators and officers work as the intermediary between the student body and the
Board of Trustee and President. Nonetheless, both persona profiles describe students that are involved
in the various campus activities and show interest in the different school related affairs. These types of
students do not sit back and blindly accept the changes made on campus, but actively take part in the
decisions making role. Although the final decisions or outcomes might not always follow the

  • 2. Mediterranean And The Tundra Compare And Contrast Climates can be described as weather conditions that exist in over an extended period of time. The Mediterranean and the Tundra are two of many climates that exist all over the world. .The Mediterranean is located near the western side of continents, and the Tundra is found along the coast of the Arctic ocean. Among the two there are many similarities and differences. The Mediterranean doesn t experience very harsh weather, therefore the climate is mild. There are only two seasons which are summer and winter. The seasonal changes that this area experiences are due to changes in ocean currents and water temperatures. Summers in the Mediterranean are dry and mild, and temperatures average above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Winters are mild and wet, temperatures during this season are between 30 and 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Large bodies of water and ocean currents are what cause the Mediterranean climate. During the summer cold currents keep the climate mild and dry. In the winter warm water moves in and heats the land, but also causes rain. The Mediterranean is overall a dry climate because the majority of the rain falls ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the summer snow and ice melt however, some permafrost still remains deep in the ground. The permafrost prevents snow and ice from absorbing into the ground, so as a result bogs and marshes form. Winter temperatures in the Tundra can get to as low as 18 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. This polar climate experiences such harsh temperatures because of its high latitude and indirect sunlight. Summer temperatures are cool, average temperatures don t go above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. The tundra doesn t receive very much rain, only about 5 15 inches per year. No trees grow in the tundra because of the permafrost found deep in the ground. However, animals who are able to survive the harsh climate are able to live here. These animals include polar bears, snow owls and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Hamlet s Idealism Essay Hamlet s Idealism Hamlet is many things: scholar, speaker, actor, and prince. His greatness shows in all of activities, save one: his inability to act. Hamlet is not able to avenge his father s death without considerable delay. There is a flaw in Hamlet s character that causes him to postpone the murder of Claudius this flaw is Hamlet s idealism. While idealism is normally a good trait, in this case, because of the unusual circumstances, Hamlet s idealism causes great conflicts within him. He was gifted with a great mind which he uses extensively. Hamlet believes that things should be inherently good, and that people s motives should be fair. Consequently, he has a great deal of difficulty in coming to terms with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hence, his morals guide him to be absolutely sure of his uncle s guilt, and not have a hasty, emotionally based reaction. Another main reason for Hamlet s delay once again has to do with his morals and idealism. Because he possesses such a strong mind, he can find many possible causes and effects for everyday affairs. When dealing with affairs far from ordinary, such as his father s murder, ... the native hue of resolution is sicklied o er with the pale cast of thought... (Act III sc i). I suggest also that perhaps Hamlet is not able to truly understand people s evil motives, due to his own idealistic nature. It would follow, then, that he would have great difficulty in committing an act of such brutal violence himself. The action which Hamlet has been commanded by the ghost to undertake goes against Hamlet in a very basic, fundamental way. The fact that Hamlet is a thinking as well as a feeling person, conscious of the good and bad points in every step he takes, makes the act of revenge particularly painful for him. Revenge is not Christian, and Hamlet is a Christian Prince; it is not rational, and Hamlet is a philosopher; it is not gentle, and Hamlet is a gentlemen (Boklund 113). In the end, however, it is not Hamlet s sense of right and wrong that charges him to vengeance; rather, his uncle s death occurs in a heat of passion. While he does recognize that ... In today s society, much of the resistance for finding ecological solutions comes from those who would be required to drastically change their policies and business models. In general, an environmental problem proves politically less difficult to resolve if a marketable solution exists, says Janicke. In contrast, he says, if a solution to an environmental problem requires an intervention in the established patterns of production, consumption, or transport, it is likely to meet resistance. Furthermore, Ecological Modernization states that ecological innovations must meet the following three qualifications to succeed: First, the solution they propose needs to be to a problem that affects the global level. Second, it needs to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At times, the jetty is partially or completely submerged, which makes its constantly changing nature even more apparent. Land Artist Michael Heizer s work plays with the entropic as well. His project, Double Negative [see Figure 2.5] consists of an enormous tract carved into the earth. With no framework or scaffolding to hold its shape, the piece is left open to the effects of erosion. In both Spiral Jetty and Double Negative, the entropic nature of the pieces allow the work to be designed as a part of the existing landscape yet separated from it. As Rosalind Krauss, art critic and theorist, says, Spiral Jetty and Double Negative are the combination of landscape and non landscape. It is instead a physical manipulation of the landscape, a marked site. Smithson also advocated the use of post industrial sites for his work. For example, Spiral Jetty was constructed from a ruined site; in fact, the abandoned oil rigs situated nearby were a large part of what drew his attention to it. Furthermore, what was natural about the site appeared artificial: the water in the Utah lake was colored an unnatural red by the algae living in it and the earth was cracked and crusted with salt. • 7. Essay on The Cultural Differences Argument for Moral... Ruth Villagra The Cultural Differences Argument for Moral Relativism. Moral Relativism is generally used to describe the differences among various cultures that influence their morality and ethics. According to James Rachels, because of moral relativism there typically is no right and wrong and briefly states : Different cultures have different moral codes. (Rachels, 18) Various cultures perceive right and wrong differently. What is considered right in one society could be considered wrong in another, but altogether all cultures have some values in common. In Elements of Moral Philosophy, the author gives examples of such. For instance, a tribe of Indians known as Callatians ate bodies of their dead fathers; the Greeks turned to ... To summarize, he believes that there is not one objective truth or a correct way to dispose of the bodies because although the culture s actions are different, their beliefs have a common value to it. It is possible that the Callatians believed that through cannibalization, the spirits of their dead fathers would be within them and by cremating or burying their bodies it would be viewed as a sign of disrespect. ( Rachels, 30) If we were to look at the Eskimos example, Rachels argues that even if in our society infanticide is seen as cruel and an immoral behavior, it is actually quite logical because they are a nomadic tribe constantly traveling and rely on the males to hunt and provide for the family the disadvantage would be having an overpopulation of females. He argues that cultural relativism supports this belief because moral ethics is just based on different cultures different cultures have different moral codes. There s a difference in opinion which means that you can t judge the other and that there isn t just one truth of which is right and wrong. However, Rachels also provides a different example that is actually a logical flaw that attributes to the Cultural Differences Argument. Some people believe that the earth is flat and others believe it s round. He argues that because of cultural relativism, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Communist State consist of a classless society, in which the state plans and controls the economy and a single often authoritarian party holds power; state controls are imposed with the elimination of private ownership of property or capital while claiming to make progress toward a higher social order in which all goods are equally shared by the people (cite2). Binary Data Analysis Satellite sensors send bits of binary data to ground stations on Earth for processing into useful meteorological and environmental information enabling enhanced decision making capabilities. Thereby, preventing injuries and fatalities, preserving assets, and reducing time delays. Binary data are comprised of zeroes and ones. One bit contains either a 0 or a 1 . A single bit, in and of itself, does not have a lot of value until it is used. The same is true of information. Information does not have value until it is utilized. In An Inspector Calls Priestley manipulates tension and suspense to give us insight on his political and social views (eg. the class system). He builds up tension and suspense during the course of the acts ending with a cliffhanger, leaving the audience curious and guessing as to what would happen next. For example, the Inspector s entrance where Priestley creates tension by using lighting. The lighting initially pink and intimate , possibly conveying the idea of the Birlings and Gerald looking at life through rose tinted glasses. The argument ends before we are given substantial information, leaving us with incomplete information and wanting to know more. The stage direction of The door slowly opens , a metaphor for the Inspector slowly exposing each piece of the information increases the levels of suspense in the room leaving the audience to think about what has just happened. • 12. Amyloid Synthesis Amyloid beta (Aβ) is a short peptide contains 37 to 43 amino acids and is well known for its hypothesized role in causing pathogenesis of AD, since one of the main hallmarks of AD is the accumulation of fibrillogenic Aβ in the grey matter of the brain (14 15). Meanwhile, over 90% of AD patients have cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) which is characterized by the deposition of Aβ in capillaries, arteries, and arterioles (16 17). CAA causes the degeneration of smooth muscle cells and leads haemorrhages (17). Aβ is generated by proteolytic processing from its precursor, the amyloid precursor protein (APP), which is a type I oriented membrane protein and its splicing variants include APP695, APP714, APP751, APP770 (18 21). The β secretase first sheds the ectodomain of APP and generates the APP carboxy terminal fragment (βCTF) (14). Then the γ secretase cuts at the transmembrane region of βCTF and releases the Aβ into the extracellular fluids like cerebrospinal fluid or plasma (14, 24). In the anti amyloidogenic pathway α secretase first cuts at the middle region of Aβ so a trauncated APP CTF (αCTF) is generated and after the transmembrane cut of γ secretase, a truncated Aβ peptide is released (p3) (Figure 2; 25). Key to this plan is the opportunity of business in Indonesia as an emerging market and top 10 most attractive destinations for FDI in UNCTAD s World Investment Prospects Survey in 2010. Macro and micro economic analysis uncovered that Indonesia is an attractive market for Wiggo s business expansion though attention should be paid to infrastructure support, widespread corruption and social stability issue. The Principles Of Systems Analysis Unit 11 Systems analysis Design 29/09/2014 The principles of systems analysis Iain s Co Iain s Co. are a large building company that currently employ a team of IT technicians to help them manage their IT infrastructure and their IT users. They recently have taken over a similar small company that employs technical staff in the same way. Iain s Co. feel that they need a centralised IT support system that will monitor, track and report problems that have been identified by their IT users across both sites. Iain s Co. have hired me as their Systems Analyst to provide them better solutions to manage their IT Supports system. What is systems analysis and how are systems analysed? Systems analysis is when business hire individuals to analyse their systems to determine what issues are present with their current systems and provide a solution that will fix the issues. In order to discover the issues with the system, the analyst must be able to interact with the business to identify how their current systems work. This means that a systems analyst must have complete access to their databases as well as being allowed to interact with employees. The main reason why the systems analyst would need to interact with the employees is so they are able to find the strengths and weaknesses of the system. This is useful to them as they will be able to identify what areas of the system need to be changed and what areas should be kept the same. My Recommendations for Iain s Co In ...
