Civil Disobedience In Essay On The Montgomery Boycott By...
Civil disobedience is the refusal of someone to obey certain laws, demands, orders or commands of a government or occupying
international power. Civil disobedience is defined to be nonviolent to be called disobedience. Civil disobedience is also called
passive resistance. It s a refusal to obey demands even if u know it s not the right thing you still continue to do as you please. This
is done in a nonviolent way it s a protest because the laws are part of a protest. The essay on the Montgomery Boycott by Coretta
Scott king describes the act of the civil disobedience.

Christianity And Paganism In Beowulf
The ideas of Christianity and paganism are not usually ones that collide. Nonetheless, the epic poem Beowulf has several references
to them both. This can largely be explained by analyzing the people and culture of the period. While the events of the poem take
place in modern day Scandinavia, the author and audience are assumed to be residents of England. It was written in approximately
700 A.D., during the Anglo Saxon period. By this time, the Anglo Saxons were already largely converted to Christianity, but there
were still echoes of paganism in their society and beliefs. This is presumed to be one of the reasons why Beowulf incorporates this
unlikely mix of religions. Although Christianity and paganism are generally thought to have few similarities, Beowulf s unknown
author utilizes Christian symbolism, allusions to paganism, and interaction between the two to make Beowulf representative of the
period in which it was written.
The author of Beowulf is overwhelmingly assumed to be a Christian monk. As a result, the Christian references in the poem are
plain to see. The first of these references comes near the beginning of the poem. In lines 6 10, the making of the earth is depicted:
...recalling/ The Almighty making the earth, shaping/ These beautiful plains marked off by oceans,/ Then proudly setting the sun
and moon/ To glow across the land and light it... This description mirrors a loose adaptation of God s creation of the world in the
first chapter of Genesis, and is

About Hurricane Sandy
This paper gives us information about Hurricane Sandy . It is known as Super storm Sandy , off the record. It was the most
disastrous hurricane of the 2012 Atlantic hurricane season along with being the second hurricane that created financial crisis in
United States history. In 1953, the National Weather Service started naming the storms after women. As a matter of fact, there are
six lists of names for naming storms in the Atlantic. It was the eighteenth storm in the list, tenth hurricane and second large
hurricane of the year 2012. It was a Category 3 storm according to the Saffir Simpson Hurricane Scale, when it made landfall in
Cuba. While it was a Category 2 storm off the coast of the Northeastern United States, the storm became the ... Show more content

Sandy also overcame the record for generating the lowest pressure in Philadelphia, with the least being 954 mbar (28.2 inches of
mercury); the former record was 962 mbar (28.4 inches of mercury), occurred during the 1993 Storm of the Century.
Sandy wiped out at least 125 people in the United States that comprises of 60 in New York, 48 of them in New York City, 34 in
New Jersey and 16 in Pennsylvania. The storm dropped heavy snow in West Virginia killing seven people. Sandy killed 71 people
in the Caribbean, including 54 in Haiti. Sandy was responsible for creating $62 billion damage and other disasters in the U.S., the
huge part of it in New York and New Jersey. It is the second storm in U.S. history for creating financial crisis, after 2005 s
Hurricane Katrina, which caused $128 billion in damage in inflation adjusted dollars. Sandy created at least $315 million of
destruction in the Caribbean. Sandy ruined or demolished homes and businesses, more than 72,000 in New Jersey alone. In Cuba,
the number of blemished homes has been approximated at 130,000 to 200,000.
New York is looking for $42 billion in federal aid, including about $9 billion for projects to prevent the havoc in future storms.
New Jersey is seeking around $37 billion in support, comprising of $7.4 billion for future projects. Sandy s pure kinetic energy for

The Concept Of Absorption Isotherms
2.4. Adsorption isotherms, kinetics and thermodynamic studies
2.4.1. Adsorption isotherms
Adsorption isotherms describe the equilibrium between the adsorbents and adsorbate to optimize the use of adsorbents and
introduce a design and operation of adsorption systems by the correlation of experimental data through the theoretical equations.
Isotherm studies were performed by mixing the optimum dose of both adsorbents with Pb2+ solution at different initial
concentration (25 250 mg/l) and shaking for the optimum time at room temperature. The data was fitted into the following
isotherms: Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin and Dubinin Raduskevich.
2.4.1.1 Langmuir isotherm.
Langmuir model is the simplest theoretical model for monolayer adsorption onto a surface with finite number of identical sites [28].

How Does Shakespeare Use Gender In Hamlet
Matthias Brand
Dramatic lit.
Mark Mannette
October 19, 2015
Gender
Many theatre students will tell you about Shakespeare, who he is, what plays he has written. But what if a theatre student came up
to you and the first thing he said was that Shakespeare was all about gender and sexuality. Many people in the theater community
may have to agree. If you don t agree your mind may be changed by the end of this paper. In the plays The Winter s Tale and
Hamlet, you will find that Shakespeare brings out the theme of gender and sexuality.
In the work of Hamlet you will find that gender uncertainty was there through the use of incest. One instance of this this that
Claudius and Gertrude are married. This is incest in the substantiality that they were brother in law and sister in law. Another
instance of this is that many time Ophelia and Laertes call each other sexual names. Many people would find this wrong because
they are brother and sister. Although the biggest sexual wrong is that of Hamlet and Gertrude. Hamlet hates one gender with ...

One occasion of this is that Leontes believes that his wife Hermione is having sexual relations with Polixenes. He takes punishment
on his wife by imprisoning her while his so called friend Polixenes escapes. The play is full of discrimination as Leontes greets his
wife as nothing . His wife gives birth to a baby daughter. Leontes claims that she belongs to Polixenes. Then the Baby is sent to a
desolate land far away by the order of Leontes. Through the play Perdita, Leontes s daughter is sent to build the family back up and
heal and mend the relationship with Polixenes. Polixenes s son Florizel falls in love with Perdita and want to be joined in the bonds

Persuasive Narrative Essay
It was my last memory from my class at Meadowbrook, the school s right of passage at the end of the 8th grade year: ziplining in
Costa Rica. I felt my stomach tighten as I took a step up to the first platform, took one last deep breath, and jumped. The violent,
Costa Rican air whipped around me, spinning my body in a circle like a helicopter blade. I tirelessly squeezed the handlebar with
the rough, sandpaper gloves like my life depended on it. Ironically, at the time, I thought it did. I was mortified. After helplessly
spinning around for about a minute, I crashed into the end of the line and nervously unhooked my harness. One down, seven to go.
The next line began similarly to the first one. I leaped off the platform hesitantly, but the wind had died down and I was able to
relax. I gazed across the seemingly endless lush, green landscapes of the Costa Rican mountain ranges in awe. Still choke holding
the handlebar, I was not comfortable in the slightest. I left the third platform just a second quicker feeling slightly more secure in
the harness. This time, I released the handlebar, leaving my doubts and worries behind. I was about as content as I could possibly be
given the circumstances, dangling thousands of feet up in the air in the mountains, supported by a jaded wooden rope an inch in
diameter. Two summers ago, I trotted onto the 18th green, up one stroke in the tournament. It felt incredible, all my hard work was
finally going to pay off. I had a 2 foot putt with no break, a putt I could make a million times over in my sleep. I placed my hands
onto my putter as they gradually started to shake and tremble. I felt my stomach tighten as I realized this gimme putt was nothing I
could have ever prepared for. I was ready to get my first tournament win. My hands still wavering, I brought the putter straight back
and through. It felt like an eternity as my ball inched closer and closer toward the hole. But instead of reveling in the clink as the
ball hit the bottom of the hole, the ball took a left hand turn, hit the edge of the cup, and settled a measly inch or two from the hole.
I tapped in and walked away, devastated that I had just lost the tournament. It was as if my countless hours of preparation had

Stimulus Package Analysis
I m gonna give it to you now, once and for all, the secret behind the magic trick of how the oligarchy selects who gets a pass and
who will be fried by their MSM in the presidential elections. I found it here, at The Brookings Institute, exactly where they
rehearsed the trick on Obama in 2008. How could I have missed it?! I went there in 2008 to show Obama s promises to the elite.
The magicians just make us look the other way, that s how they do it. And this is how it goes.
You will see, among other things, how Sanders eases Wall Street s angst, how they will pay him back for voting for the Stimulus
Package: Sanders asks for the MSM support and WS is glad to abide. Also, the Keystone Pipeline? He promises will not be a
priority if he wins.
First: This is the Brookings presenting Sanders to its members and the select few from the MSM. That means they had already
vetted Sanders and found him kosher to be consumed by its group. How did that happen, we don t know, it happened behind the
closed golden doors of the owners of humanity. What we DO know is that they fed the members a script to dispel any fears and to

Targeting Jews for Genocide Essay
Targeting Jews for Genocide When discussing The Holocaust, our minds tend to jump straight to the genocide of the Jewish
populations of Europe. This is because of the approximate 11 million people killed during The Holocaust; roughly 6 million of
them were Jews. Many people are now left to wonder why Hitler and the Nazi Party specifically targeted the Jews for genocide.
The main reason was because the Nazi Party took the idea of nationalism to an extreme, new level. Hitler also thought the Jews
were responsible for Germany losing World War 1. Hitler may have been influenced during his childhood on the ideas of anti
Semitism. According to A Teacher s Guide to the Holocaust, the opposition and discrimination of Jews is known as ... Show more

This gave him a reason to get rid of the Jews to bring his idea of a German only Germany to life. I think that this was simply
disguised Hitler s plan to gain support from the mass of the German population.
It is also said that since Hitler grew up in Vienna, the capital of Austria, a place where anti Semitism is nothing out of the sorts, and
also a place where the mayor is known for his extreme nationalism, these ideas may have rubbed off on him ( Why did Hitler hate
Jews? 3)
The approximate number of Jews killed in the Holocaust is over 5,860,000 ( 36 Questions and Answers about the Holocaust 2).
3,000,000 of these Jews came from Poland and around 1,100,000 came from the Soviet Union. Over 90 percent of the Polish
Jewish population was killed during the Holocaust ( 36 Questions and Answers about the Holocaust 5). A problem for the extinction
of Jews was how to define what made someone a Jew. The Nuremburg Laws cleared up any confusion on who was and who wasn t
a Jew. On November 14, 1935, the term Jewish was defined by the Nazi s as Anyone with three Jewish grandparents; someone with
two Jewish grandparents who belonged to the Jewish community on September 15, 1935, or joined thereafter; was married to a Jew
or Jewess on September 15, 1935, or married one thereafter; was the offspring of a marriage or extramarital liaison with a Jew on or
after September 15, 1935. ( 36

2. SCOPE OF THE PROBLEM
2A History of the problem
The exposure to risk factors increased the development of violence for young people. Risk facts increases the probability that a
person will suffer harm (General 2001). Risk factors increase the likelihood of children exposure to violence. Risk factors vary on
many levels. They are individual, family, social and community risk factors. Each work together to increase the exposure to
violence.
Overtime violence interrupted youth s ability to focus, trust, communicate, believe and consider a future for themselves. Children
who are exposed to high levels of risk factors are more violent than youths who are not exposed to such factors.

Go Ask Alice Analysis
Go Ask Alice We often live our lives thinking we have it all figured out. We believe that we know what we know and that things are
not different from it. For example, when we think of people having a mental disorder or having a mental illness, we think of the
extremes. When we think of someone that suffers from schizophrenia, we often visualize someone being paranoid and feeling like
they are always being either watched or stalked. We envision someone that cannot operate in everyday life and who is too mentally
unstable to function as a regular civilian. We do the same with people who are prone to drug abuse. When someone mentions a drug
addict , we think of someone who is probably homeless, sleeping on the ground, with a rubber band tied around their arm and a
needle in the other. We always go to the extremes when it comes to these terms. The thing that we need to understand is that just
because someone is labeled a specific name are not always necessarily the poster image that we think of. People who suffer from
schizophrenia can become functional citizens. You cannot always spot a drug addict because they ... Show more content on

Reading Go Ask Alice did, however, change my perspective in to what type of teenager can get in to drugs. Alice was your ordinary
girl that never showed the slightest interest in drugs, yet she got hooked in the most severe way possible. There were other girls that
she came across with that did show tell signs that they could become drug addicts. Several of them had drug issues because of a
previous incident. For example, one of the girls she was with had been getting raped since the age of 12. People who suffer this
type of abuse are almost always prone to drug abuse. What shocked me the most was that a girl like Alice had gotten hooked. She
did not come from a broken home, she had no previous emotional traumas, she was a person who you would have thought to be a

Amines have a lower melting / boiling point compared to alcohols as they have hydrogen bonding between N H. Nitrogen has a
much lower electronegativity than oxygen so the hydrogen bonding of alcohols are much stronger resulting in higher melting /
boiling points.
Small molecule amines are soluble in water. As the alkyl chain increases the solubility decreases.
Primary amines can react with a haloalkane to form a secondary amine via a substitution reaction.
CH3NH2 + CH3CH2Cl (heat) CH3NHCH2CH3 + HCl
The secondary amines can react with a haloalkane to produce a tertiary amine.
For alkanes, alkenes, haloalkanes, amines and alcohols draw a mini reaction scheme that shows the formation and reactions that
they can produce. Schemes should identify that alcohols are oxidised to aldehydes, carboxylic acids and ketones depending on the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Seddi
6. PREPARATION OF SEDDS
Method of preparation may vary according to the dosage form of the formulation. The techniques can be implemented accordingly
to the stability, sensitivity and adaptability of the drug excipients to self emulsified form. In olden days, SEDDS are prepared in the
form of liquid state where it will be enclosed by hard or soft gelatin capsules. By this, it helps to enhance oral administration and
later on it is known to burden in the formulation. Main disadvantages are low drug incompatibility and stability, drugs leakage and
precipitation, capsule ageing and it is very costly. Besides, addition of large quantity of surfactants in this formulation tend to
induce gastrointestinal irritations. To overcome this problem, solid SEDDS ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

7. ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF SEDDS
7.1 Advantages
As SEDDS is formulated, it carries a major advantage over delivering efficiently as it has improved the stability of highly lipophilic
drugs. The major advantages of SEDDS are:
 Enhances the dissolution rate and bioavailability of hydrophobic drugs
 Acts as substitute for traditional oral formulation of lipophilic drugs
 Better consistent of temporal profiles of drug absorption
 Helps in selective drug targeting towards a specific site in GIT
 Protects drug molecule from the hostile environment of GIT
 No influence of lipid digestion process
7.2 Disadvantages
The advancement of SEDDS in the novel drug delivery system has its weakness as improvisation is being made to rectify the flaws.
However, certain unavoidable factors may divert the invention process which wholly depends on the environmental factor of the
GIT. Disadvantages of SEDDS are:
 Presence of high surfactant concentrations increases chances of instabilities of drugs
 High content of surfactants irritates the GI

even task Abu Bakr and Omar s children (including Aisha) with distracting Ali to the point of intentional obstruction. This remains
the primary disagreement between Sunni and Shi a Islam.

He conveys these through simple responses, for example, when he shies away from women and the way he carries himself. These

Therefore, the actor cannot base his or her character on the events that will occur. The actor must establish a character and try to

conducted with both football players and non players to determine the best starting position to lower the potential damage from
collisions. These athletes participated in many study trials with the different beginning placements of the trunk and head in relation

This position is widely used, regardless of how risky it is for the players involved. However, there is no perfect solution; there s
only a better one. The experiment showed that it is difficult to determine the optimal position due to the conflict of good
performance vs. low chance of harm (Bonnechere, 2014). The authors chose to propose a balance between two positions that offers
a medium risk, especially if there has been previous trauma experienced by a player. If a football player has had a concussion
before or is at a higher chance of receiving one, the 2 point start is the safest out of all three positions studied (Bonnechere,

Stereotypes In Beowulf
A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself is a quote, by Joseph Campbell that describes an
epic hero. One story about an epic hero that everyone can learn from is the story of Beowulf. Beowulf is an old English poem
which was translated by Burton Raffel. The story plot is about a man named Beowulf, whom with his men fight against evil and
never lose. There are many lessons that are learned though out this story. Every high school student should read Beowulf because it
teaches students about the stereotype of an epic hero, shows how language has changed and will teach them to think of others first.

It is sad to say, but many people have started putting and thinking of themselves first. By reading Beowulf, people will realize the
importance of putting others before oneself. Also, when the character, Beowulf, first arrives with his men to defeat Grendel which
is the monster he tells the man who stops them who his father and lord are and what his goal is before he even says his name. This
shows that he just wants to help out of good will, not to just get his name around. This caused others to respect him more. So if
students reading this piece of literature learn why it is important though the story of Beowulf actions, then maybe they will start to
do that as well.
Beowulf is one poem that everyone should read, it helps students understand the importance of an epic hero, different ways of
language and putting others first. Beowulf can give information that students can use in their daily lives. This poem teaches the
basics on so many good lessons. Reading different types of stories like Beowulf will increase students knowledge so much more
than before they read the adventure stories. It has been proven by many others that reading will increase knowledge, improve

Shoeless Joe Analysis
If You Build It, They Will Come: A Story About Inspiration and Heart
In one s lifetime, perspiration and willingness to overcome challenges is crucial to be successful. On the road to success, passion
and striving to get better is often a major method with which one can get better. Modeled after Field of Dreams, Shoeless Joe, by
W.P. Kinsella, is a book where the main character, Ray, strives forward and advances to reach moral happiness and success.
Personally, I liked the book, as like me, Ray exhibits a desire to win, and a desire to succeed, which is unmatched helping him drive
forward in life.
Personally, I enjoyed Shoeless Joe, due to its fascinating display of great symbols and meaning, as well as its overall message. I
liked how the book started talking about a memory Ray had with his dad about Shoeless Joe himself. At the end of the book, they
go back to that memory, and it is a nice way to tie the book together. Another aspect that I enjoyed was how Ray fought through a
gigantic economic issue. Ray could not pay off his mortgage, which was a horrible situation, however he kept striving and
improving to build the field, to reach his goal. At this point in the novel, it does truly get emotional and sad. Knowing that he could
only pay off his mortgage for so much more time, considering what he did, is so amazing. Baseball and the religious connections
that Ray has with baseball forces him to say, A ballpark at night is more like a church than a church (Kinsella 160).

which is used for many purposes. One way combination pill is used is to stop ovulation due to the hormones that it produces which
are estrogen, and progesterone. These two hormones control the entire process when it comes to the menstrual cycle, estrogen

With monophasic estrogen, and progestin delivers the same amount each day, during the second stage which is biphasic they pretty
much deliver the same amount of estrogen everyday but for the first 21 days. It has been proven that during the first half of the
cycle the ratio of the estrogen/progestin is lowered to allow the lining of the uterus to thicken. The ratio rises during the second half
of the cycle to allow the normal shedding of the lining of the uterus to occur. Meanwhile everything remains the same throughout
the third category.
It has been said that when birth control pills are taking correctly they are up to 99 percent effective,9 out of 10 pill users get
pregnant each year. Although birth controls are meant to protect you they also have some pros and cons, one of my closest friend

frustrating when the side effects occur. Sometimes I get bad headaches, I get nausea, and it causes me to gain

Emancipation Proclamation And The Fourteenth Amendment
Civil rights has been an important issue in American history, dating even before the signing of the Declaration of Independence. In
fact, it was one of the primary causes of the American Revolution, as seen with the famous phrase no taxation without
representation. The Emancipation Proclamation and the Thirteenth Amendment further sparked a heated debate during the
Reconstruction Era over the civil protections of free blacks. These disputes led to additional legislation, such as the implementation
of the Fourteenth Amendment, to protect these citizens of the United States.
In the late 1800s, the nation was beginning to recover from the Civil War, during which blacks were universally freed from slavery
and became citizens of the United States. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to an analysis in the Chicago Kent Law Review, [Harlan] protested the Court s narrow interpretation of the requirements
of freedom under the Thirteenth Amendment. Since the institution of slavery rested upon the inequality of those held in bondage,
their freedom necessarily involved immunity from, and protection against, all discrimination against them, because of their race, in
respect of such civil rights as belong to freemen of other races. In other words, Justice Harlan subtly implies that the other justices
simply ignored the Thirteenth Amendment entirely, focusing instead on the rights of whites protected under the Fourteenth
Amendment. This implication evinces the influence of judicial activism in the Supreme Court s decision. Civil rights in the United
States have definitely changed since the decision of the Civil Rights Cases of 1883. While the Court s decision shows the
overreaching opinion of the people during this time, it is also clear by Justice Harlan s dissent that the opinions of the people were,
even then, changing and progressing, focusing on equal rights for all under

Star smiled as she listened to Marco lamenting on his inability to ask Jackie out. He had been going all morning. From the second

The truth is that Star has been feeling more than friendly toward her bestie for a while now. It had started after the Blood Moon

Star sat bolt upright in bed later that night. One hand clutched her wand while the other grasped the neckline of her night dress.
A dream... she thought, or a nightmare.
She could not decide which.
Star flopped back onto her bed with a sigh, throwing her arm over her forehead. The dream had been about Marco. In it Star had
been Jackie and the safe kid had finally plucked up enough courage to ask her out. It had been a dream come true and the worst gut
punch of her life. She did not know if it was good or bad that she had said yes.
The Mewni Princess laid awake for an hour before rolling out of bed. She could not get back to sleep. The dream kept knocking
around in her skull. She bit her lip in indecision as she eyed her spell book. It would not take much...if she could mow down Ludo
and his minions with an army of war horses it could not be too difficult to...
But it was wrong and when Marco found out, because he would find out, then their friendship would be done. Unless...

We found that users consistently valued communication and characteristics such as personality or kindness more than sexual

Online dating functions best to the degree that it introduces people to potential partners they would have been unlikely to encounter
otherwise and facilitates a rapid transition to face to face interaction, where the two people can get a clearer sense of their romantic
potential. As online dating evolves and matures, it seems likely that more and more of us will first encounter romantic partners
online.
Live interaction is a complex, multifaceted process with an essence that cannot be fully captured by CMC (Computer Mediated
Communication). In online dating, users are wise to engage in CMC briefly to assess basic levels of romantic potential and then
move rapidly to face to face interactions. source
The way people view human interaction will determine whether they go online to seek relationships or not. Jaron Lanier, a founder
of the field of virtual reality, made a similar point about social networking sites, describing them as dehumanizing and fostering
shallow interactions and a fakey fakey social life (Kahn, 2011, p. 46). Relationships are most satisfying when partners adopt a
communal orientation, responding mutually to each other s needs and preferences (Clark et al., 2010), rather than an exchange
orientation, in which benefits and costs are assessed on an

Summary Of Robin Lakoff s Language And Woman s Place
In Robin Lakoff s Language and Woman s Place the author Robin tells us her side of the inequity that women face. She wants to
see what she can conclude from her experiences. In this article she tells us about her first hand accounts of this through
introspection (Lakoff 46). Robin tells us about what language use can tell us about the nature of inequality (Lakoff 45). The author
also talks about the subservient functions of women and the roles that sexes play in society (Lakoff 45). Robin wants to know if
anything can be done for this cause or is this what our society has destined for women (Lakoff 46). Robin talks about how tag

lets us know that these problems are real. Explaining to the audience examples of this in everyday life and language makes the
audience feel like something must be done. The author explains to us that many women are subject to subservient functions (Lakoff

first hand experiences of this, which cause the reader to sympathize for her (Lakoff 46). The author thinks that we will find two
different ways of discrimination women face in language. The author explains the way that women are taught to use language and
the way that general language treats them (Lakoff 46). This is where the reader starts to see the problems that women may face. The
rhetorical strategy ethos used helps the reader feel for her cause as if it were happening to them first hand. This makes the reader
aware of what is going on. At this point the audience can start to

reviewing the dashboard? What information are they using on a daily basis? How much time do they have to review the numbers?
Data comfort and skills How sophisticated are they with using data? Are they proficient in Excel? Do they enjoy digging into the

Plato’s Theory of Forms
Term paper Plato s theory of forms
Everything which exist in this world and all things that we see around us are not as they appear to us this is the core idea behind
plato s theory of forms. From this idea only he moves towards explaining his world of forms or ideas.
In his book called THE REPUBLIC he tell us that the Good is the end of all endeavour,it is the object on which every heart is set,so
this good according to him has a form, infact all the abstract ideas like good, justice ,beauty ,love etc has an ideal form according to

In a way it solves the problem of permanence and change.in a way it solves the problem of being and becoming which has existed
in the greek philosophy since long.plato s divided line is a perfect answer to this problem. It combines both being and becoming and
tell us that from becoming we have to reach upto the being that is real.
We perceive a different world through our mind than we do through the senses. It is the material world, perceived through the
senses and this world changing. It is the realm of forms, which one sees through the mind, this world is permanent. It is this world
that is more real; the world of change is merely an imperfect image of this world. A form is an abstract property or quality. Take any
property of an object and separate it from that object and consider it by itself, this is a form. For instance, when we talk of a triangle
we say that it is a three sided enclosed figure and the sum of whose all sides is 180degrees,but have we ever seen a perfect triangle
what we have seen is just a close approximation of an ideal triangle but not an ideal triangle.

Dispositional, Biological, and Evolutionary Psychology
University of Phoenix
Dispositional, Biological, and Evolutionary Psychology
Personality theory has come a long way since its beginning in psychology. Many theorists have based their work on theorists before
them, but made changes that indicate that the characteristics of the individual affects the ideas behind their work (Feist, Feist, amp;
Roberts, 2013). Comparing dispositional, biological, and evolutionary theories indicates the similarities and differences between the
theories; as well as their strengths and weaknesses. The use of these theories has led to research and tests, such as the big five test,
that help indicate personality characteristics of individuals (Feist, et ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Focusing on how our mind works, is designed, and how our mind interacts to our environment evolutionary psychology sees
behavior as an adaptation (Feist, Feist, amp; Roberts, 2013). Evolutionary psychology, once again looks at humans not just from a
psychoanalytical perspective, not just a biological perspective, but from both as well as an environmental perspective (Feist, et al,
2013). It is broad in its application without denying theories of others.
What will you find common among all of the theories mentioned above is the use of drives to motivate human behavior.
Dispositional theories assert that humans look to the future for motivation (Wilderdom.com, 2005). These theories look at current
events and goals, as opposed to the past, to establish their behavior. Biological psychology does not attribute humans much free will
(Wilderdom.com, 2005). It focuses on what has been predetermined for the person based on biology through genetics, or structure,
for example. Evolutionary psychology views behavior as a product of evolutionary drives for power and sex (Wilderdom.com,
2005). This outlook is similar to Freudian views on sex and aggression, but instead of being based subconscious thought it is now
based on an evolutionary need to adapt and overcome.
Critiques on Theories
The challenge for any of these theories is to be scientifically tested. Dispositional theories have done a lot to expand the field of
personality and have been very useful at initiating

  • 3. Christianity And Paganism In Beowulf The ideas of Christianity and paganism are not usually ones that collide. Nonetheless, the epic poem Beowulf has several references to them both. This can largely be explained by analyzing the people and culture of the period. While the events of the poem take place in modern day Scandinavia, the author and audience are assumed to be residents of England. It was written in approximately 700 A.D., during the Anglo Saxon period. By this time, the Anglo Saxons were already largely converted to Christianity, but there were still echoes of paganism in their society and beliefs. This is presumed to be one of the reasons why Beowulf incorporates this unlikely mix of religions. Although Christianity and paganism are generally thought to have few similarities, Beowulf s unknown author utilizes Christian symbolism, allusions to paganism, and interaction between the two to make Beowulf representative of the period in which it was written. The author of Beowulf is overwhelmingly assumed to be a Christian monk. As a result, the Christian references in the poem are plain to see. The first of these references comes near the beginning of the poem. In lines 6 10, the making of the earth is depicted: ...recalling/ The Almighty making the earth, shaping/ These beautiful plains marked off by oceans,/ Then proudly setting the sun and moon/ To glow across the land and light it... • 6. How Does Shakespeare Use Gender In Hamlet Matthias Brand Dramatic lit. Mark Mannette October 19, 2015 Gender Many theatre students will tell you about Shakespeare, who he is, what plays he has written. But what if a theatre student came up to you and the first thing he said was that Shakespeare was all about gender and sexuality. Many people in the theater community may have to agree. If you don t agree your mind may be changed by the end of this paper. In the plays The Winter s Tale and Hamlet, you will find that Shakespeare brings out the theme of gender and sexuality. In the work of Hamlet you will find that gender uncertainty was there through the use of incest. One instance of this this that Claudius and Gertrude are married. This is incest in the substantiality that they were brother in law and sister in law. Another instance of this is that many time Ophelia and Laertes call each other sexual names. Many people would find this wrong because they are brother and sister. Although the biggest sexual wrong is that of Hamlet and Gertrude. Hamlet hates one gender with ... • 7. Persuasive Narrative Essay It was my last memory from my class at Meadowbrook, the school s right of passage at the end of the 8th grade year: ziplining in Costa Rica. I felt my stomach tighten as I took a step up to the first platform, took one last deep breath, and jumped. The violent, Costa Rican air whipped around me, spinning my body in a circle like a helicopter blade. I tirelessly squeezed the handlebar with the rough, sandpaper gloves like my life depended on it. Ironically, at the time, I thought it did. I was mortified. After helplessly spinning around for about a minute, I crashed into the end of the line and nervously unhooked my harness. One down, seven to go. The next line began similarly to the first one. I leaped off the platform hesitantly, but the wind had died down and I was able to relax. I gazed across the seemingly endless lush, green landscapes of the Costa Rican mountain ranges in awe. Still choke holding the handlebar, I was not comfortable in the slightest. I left the third platform just a second quicker feeling slightly more secure in the harness. This time, I released the handlebar, leaving my doubts and worries behind. I was about as content as I could possibly be given the circumstances, dangling thousands of feet up in the air in the mountains, supported by a jaded wooden rope an inch in diameter. Two summers ago, I trotted onto the 18th green, up one stroke in the tournament. It felt incredible, all my hard work was finally going to pay off. I had a 2 foot putt with no break, a putt I could make a million times over in my sleep. I placed my hands onto my putter as they gradually started to shake and tremble. I felt my stomach tighten as I realized this gimme putt was nothing I could have ever prepared for. I was ready to get my first tournament win. My hands still wavering, I brought the putter straight back and through. It felt like an eternity as my ball inched closer and closer toward the hole. But instead of reveling in the clink as the ball hit the bottom of the hole, the ball took a left hand turn, hit the edge of the cup, and settled a measly inch or two from the hole. I tapped in and walked away, devastated that I had just lost the tournament. It was as if my countless hours of preparation had ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Stimulus Package Analysis I m gonna give it to you now, once and for all, the secret behind the magic trick of how the oligarchy selects who gets a pass and who will be fried by their MSM in the presidential elections. I found it here, at The Brookings Institute, exactly where they rehearsed the trick on Obama in 2008. How could I have missed it?! I went there in 2008 to show Obama s promises to the elite. The magicians just make us look the other way, that s how they do it. And this is how it goes. You will see, among other things, how Sanders eases Wall Street s angst, how they will pay him back for voting for the Stimulus Package: Sanders asks for the MSM support and WS is glad to abide. Also, the Keystone Pipeline? He promises will not be a priority if he wins. First: This is the Brookings presenting Sanders to its members and the select few from the MSM. That means they had already vetted Sanders and found him kosher to be consumed by its group. How did that happen, we don t know, it happened behind the closed golden doors of the owners of humanity. • 9. Targeting Jews for Genocide Essay Targeting Jews for Genocide When discussing The Holocaust, our minds tend to jump straight to the genocide of the Jewish populations of Europe. This is because of the approximate 11 million people killed during The Holocaust; roughly 6 million of them were Jews. Many people are now left to wonder why Hitler and the Nazi Party specifically targeted the Jews for genocide. The main reason was because the Nazi Party took the idea of nationalism to an extreme, new level. Hitler also thought the Jews were responsible for Germany losing World War 1. Hitler may have been influenced during his childhood on the ideas of anti Semitism. According to A Teacher s Guide to the Holocaust, the opposition and discrimination of Jews is known as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This gave him a reason to get rid of the Jews to bring his idea of a German only Germany to life. I think that this was simply disguised Hitler s plan to gain support from the mass of the German population. It is also said that since Hitler grew up in Vienna, the capital of Austria, a place where anti Semitism is nothing out of the sorts, and also a place where the mayor is known for his extreme nationalism, these ideas may have rubbed off on him ( Why did Hitler hate Jews? 3) The approximate number of Jews killed in the Holocaust is over 5,860,000 ( 36 Questions and Answers about the Holocaust 2). 3,000,000 of these Jews came from Poland and around 1,100,000 came from the Soviet Union. Over 90 percent of the Polish Jewish population was killed during the Holocaust ( 36 Questions and Answers about the Holocaust 5). A problem for the extinction of Jews was how to define what made someone a Jew. The Nuremburg Laws cleared up any confusion on who was and who wasn t a Jew. On November 14, 1935, the term Jewish was defined by the Nazi s as Anyone with three Jewish grandparents; someone with two Jewish grandparents who belonged to the Jewish community on September 15, 1935, or joined thereafter; was married to a Jew or Jewess on September 15, 1935, or married one thereafter; was the offspring of a marriage or extramarital liaison with a Jew on or after September 15, 1935. • 11. Go Ask Alice Analysis Go Ask Alice We often live our lives thinking we have it all figured out. We believe that we know what we know and that things are not different from it. For example, when we think of people having a mental disorder or having a mental illness, we think of the extremes. When we think of someone that suffers from schizophrenia, we often visualize someone being paranoid and feeling like they are always being either watched or stalked. We envision someone that cannot operate in everyday life and who is too mentally unstable to function as a regular civilian. We do the same with people who are prone to drug abuse. When someone mentions a drug addict , we think of someone who is probably homeless, sleeping on the ground, with a rubber band tied around their arm and a needle in the other. We always go to the extremes when it comes to these terms. Therefore, the actor cannot base his or her character on the events that will occur. The actor must establish a character and try to evoke emotions. This results in characters that are not typical and predictable. As a Dogma film, Italian for Beginners, was distinct from acting in other films and the predictability of characters in those films. This film was original because the actors were allowed to innovate. The Dogma movement gave actors the freedom and environment they needed to evoke a response from the audience. Mainstream films are also starting to focus more on characters and narrative than in the past (Schepelern 98). Perhaps, in the future other aspects of Dogma 95 will be used more widely. Thirty Years Before Erasmus Estate of Erasmus Allassi Thirty years before Erasmus Allassi became the last living heir to the Allassi shipping fortune, his father, Stathos Allassi, lived in a small village, perched clifftop, overlooking the Cycladic Islands in Greece. Growing up among the tranquil white washed houses of Chora Anafi a poor village, where locals survived on anchovies and sapts Erasmus Allassi found success in fishing. For Anafiots fishing was as natural as the mythological stories surrounding Anafi; tales of the island surfacing from the Aegean Sea to protect the Argonauts, who had prayed to Apollo to save them from the angry sea. But, this afternoon he wished that he had not been invited to this dinner at Maxims. Sure, his golden court held him in high regard. Why not, with his witty repartee and gallant élan? In What is the Safest Sprint Starting Position for American Football Players?, an expository text about a scientific experiment, authors Bruno Bonnechere, Benoit Beyer, Marcel Rooze, and Jan Serge Van Sint claim that they have isolated the correct position American football players should use when playing. This optimal position is the one most likely to protect the players and prevent any severe head injuries from occurring on the field. In the beginning of this article, the authors discuss the current dangers facing many football players of concussions and long term effects of injuries to the head and neck. Due to these major risks, an experiment was conducted with both football players and non players to determine the best starting position to lower the potential damage from collisions. The authors chose to propose a balance between two positions that offers a medium risk, especially if there has been previous trauma experienced by a player. Kinsella, is a book where the main character, Ray, strives forward and advances to reach moral happiness and success. Personally, I liked the book, as like me, Ray exhibits a desire to win, and a desire to succeed, which is unmatched helping him drive forward in life. Personally, I enjoyed Shoeless Joe, due to its fascinating display of great symbols and meaning, as well as its overall message. I liked how the book started talking about a memory Ray had with his dad about Shoeless Joe himself. At the end of the book, they go back to that memory, and it is a nice way to tie the book together. Another aspect that I enjoyed was how Ray fought through a gigantic economic issue. Ray could not pay off his mortgage, which was a horrible situation, however he kept striving and improving to build the field, to reach his goal. At this point in the novel, it does truly get emotional and sad. Knowing that he could only pay off his mortgage for so much more time, considering what he did, is so amazing. In fact, it was one of the primary causes of the American Revolution, as seen with the famous phrase no taxation without representation. The Emancipation Proclamation and the Thirteenth Amendment further sparked a heated debate during the Reconstruction Era over the civil protections of free blacks. These disputes led to additional legislation, such as the implementation of the Fourteenth Amendment, to protect these citizens of the United States. In the late 1800s, the nation was beginning to recover from the Civil War, during which blacks were universally freed from slavery and became citizens of the United States. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to an analysis in the Chicago Kent Law Review, [Harlan] protested the Court s narrow interpretation of the requirements of freedom under the Thirteenth Amendment. Since the institution of slavery rested upon the inequality of those held in bondage, their freedom necessarily involved immunity from, and protection against, all discrimination against them, because of their race, in respect of such civil rights as belong to freemen of other races. In other words, Justice Harlan subtly implies that the other justices simply ignored the Thirteenth Amendment entirely, focusing instead on the rights of whites protected under the Fourteenth Amendment. This implication evinces the influence of judicial activism in the Supreme Court s decision. Civil rights in the United States have definitely changed since the decision of the Civil Rights Cases of 1883. While the Court s decision shows the overreaching opinion of the people during this time, it is also clear by Justice Harlan s dissent that the opinions of the people were, even then, changing and progressing, focusing on equal rights for all under ... Focusing on how our mind works, is designed, and how our mind interacts to our environment evolutionary psychology sees behavior as an adaptation (Feist, Feist, amp; Roberts, 2013). Evolutionary psychology, once again looks at humans not just from a psychoanalytical perspective, not just a biological perspective, but from both as well as an environmental perspective (Feist, et al, 2013). It is broad in its application without denying theories of others. What will you find common among all of the theories mentioned above is the use of drives to motivate human behavior. Dispositional theories assert that humans look to the future for motivation (Wilderdom.com, 2005). These theories look at current events and goals, as opposed to the past, to establish their behavior. Biological psychology does not attribute humans much free will (Wilderdom.com, 2005). It focuses on what has been predetermined for the person based on biology through genetics, or structure, for example. Evolutionary psychology views behavior as a product of evolutionary drives for power and sex (Wilderdom.com, 2005). This outlook is similar to Freudian views on sex and aggression, but instead of being based subconscious thought it is now based on an evolutionary need to adapt and overcome.
