150 Words Essay
Crafting a 150-word essay on the topic of "150 Words Essay" presents a unique challenge. The
brevity required demands concise expression and a careful selection of words to convey a
meaningful message. Striking a balance between depth and conciseness is akin to walking a
tightrope, as each word must contribute significantly to the limited word count. One must
navigate the fine line between being overly succinct and providing ample information to make
the essay coherent. Additionally, the task requires a keen understanding of the chosen subject,
enabling the writer to distill key points into a condensed form. Achieving clarity and coherence
within such constraints demands a refined skill set. However, for those seeking assistance,

Fantastic Day Research Paper
Another fantastic day spent with Jett. Jett was in such a happy mood from the get
go this morning. He would get excited each time Shelley or his friends would
engage and play with him. He was displaying lots of giggles and excitement
throughout some floor time with friends. The children and Jett are beginning to
form a lovely friendship and it is lovely to see the older children becoming so
enthused in Jett and protective of him. They will bring him toys to play with and
have become fully invested and accepting of Jett being in care. This is lovely to
observe, as they form a strong level of becoming friends. Jett is such a breeze to care
for he is happy to sit and watch his peers as they engage in activities as a small group.

Although qualitative analysis is used for physical areas, with the usage to tackle non
financial information, it can be widely useful in business and finance fields.(kesh and
Raja 2005, 167) The qualitative analysis of the company level is concerned with
products and services, competitive advantage, management efficiency, corporate
culture. Advanced products can get increasing cash inflows and improve company
value (Carter and Demissew 2008, 63) because booming demand for products and
services can lead to a high reinvestment rate of the company, this creates additional
wealth.( Madden 2007, 125) Competitive advantage can includes producing capacity
and the efficiency of a company s design and cost controlling better than the industry
s competitors. Generating a competitive advantage for a company will creates
stakeholder value. (Vilanova, Lozano and Arenas 2009, 63) The improvement of
management efficiency can lower operating costs and company culture can enhance
corporate image, leading to improvement of company value.
Quantitative factors
The quantitative factors in fundamental analysis are based on a deep understanding of
financial reports which is the process of identifying opportunities and threats from the
company, so investors must be concerned with the balance sheet, cash flow statement
and income statement analysis. Financial statements consist of all important
historical information about the company s operation management during a specific

Letters from an American Farmer Essay
We Are America
America a land known for its ideals of freedom and new opportunities, a nation built
under the idea that every man and women is created equal. However, the definition of
what makes a person an American is entirely different from what it is that makes up
America, itself. J.Hector St. John Crevecoeur, author of Letters from an American
Farmer (1782), exposes what he believes makes an American. However, when
compared to the standards of what makes an American in today s world, it seems that
becoming an American then was much simpler then, than it is today. The definitionof
an American is always evolving due to the influences of our changing nation. During
a simpler time, Crevecoeur defined an American as someone of European ... Show

They were open to American ideals, such as freedom of religion and freedom of
speech. America welcomed anyone who would work hard to achieve their dreams
and strive for their goals. Compared to the 18th century, people who enter the United
States, today, are also looking to start anew; and are looking to work hard for their
rights. America still believes in freedom and in being the land of opportunities even
though time has changed some of America s original ideals. Nowadays, becoming an
American is not as simple as entering America and obtaining land. For example, there
is the process of applying for citizenship, something that has now become a big part of
defining an American. Hundreds of thousands of people per year apply for
citizenship, yet not many people are granted the opportunity to become one.

more rights than people who are just residents. An immigrant wanting to become a
citizen must go through a variety of questions about the United States and what its
founders had set as its ideals. Though, with patience, an immigrant can become an

Invisibility Of The Oppressed Group Analysis
There are four central elements that are prevalent in all forms of oppression, each of
these elements are complimentary of one another and helps perpetuate the existence
of oppression. (Pharr, 1988). Invisibility of the oppressed group occurs when those in
power omit or distort the past and current accomplishments of the oppressed group.
This practice of invisibility occurs through television, movies, and educational books
which omit or rewrite historical actions and achievements of minority groups. This
reinforces the idea the societal norm is the majority, and those who do not fall within
this category are nonexistent, or have not made any positive contributions to society.

In one beautiful, fluid arc, the pie slid off the table. Time slowed down for a
moment as the pie drifted lazily through the air, individual flecks of whipped cream
flying gently behind it like streamers on a maypole in the wind. It finished the circle
and landed perfectly flat on the carpet, a trail of key limecarnage dripping the few
feet from the table to the landing point. There was a full beat of silence, and then
the chaos really set in. FITZ! Are you kidding me, Tom, I didn t even touch it, you

Without me offering her five dollars for every five conversations she starts on her

In reality, though, I had made friends mercifully early on in my freshman year. The

What Is Nietzsche On Will To Power
Inspired by Arthur Schopenhauer s idea the will to live and a desire to rebut
Christianity s promotion of morality, Friedrich Nietzsche coined the term will to
power as the accurate description of man s driving force. Within Nietzsche s
perspective, Values did man only assign to things in order to maintain himself he
created only the significance of things, a humansignificance! (Thus Spoke
Zarathustra 51). This therefore implies that humanity developed values as a means
of self preservation. However, as civilized society further isolates man from the
perils of nature, thus limiting the threats to self preservation, Nietzsche asserts the
higher motivation of ... a living thing wants to discharge its strength life itself is will
to power : self preservation is only one of the indirect and most frequent
consequences of this. (Beyond Good and Evil 15).... Show more content on

In addition, the assertion that man can only find meaning within life by
...discharging its strength... (15), which though vague, serves as the crux of
Nietzsche s philosophical outlook on the world. For example, Nietzsche criticizes
the acceptance of ambiguity by his contemporaries in that There was a type of
enjoyment in overpowering and interpreting the world in the manner of Plato...
(Beyond Good and Evil 15 16); Plato s philosophy, though proven incorrect, theorizes
an encompassing philosophy that explained the totality of life and the world. The
process of understanding the world, though futile, acts as a means of gaining power
over the world within Nietzsche s philosophy. By accepting ambiguity, Nietzsche

Analysis Of Shakespeare s The Tempest

Measuring a Life in a Drama
When many people think of William Shakespeare, they think of plays like Romeo
and Juliet, Macbeth or Hamlet. One of the most influential plays written by
Shakespeare is not one listed above. The play that reflects the life and all of
Shakespeare?s plays is The Tempest. This work was and still is influential in both
America, Britain and around the world. Although William Shakespearewas an
influential writer in American and British literature, The Tempest reaches beyond
a comparison to the new world America and points to an autobiographical drama
that is a reflection of the life of Shakespeare and his relationships with characters,
family and himself. William Shakespeare was born on April 23, 1564, in Stratford
on Avon to John and Mary Shakespeare. His humble beginnings lead him to the
man he was to become. His father worked as a leather maker and eventually
became the town bailiff. His mother worked as a stay at home mother. Shakespeare
had married Anne Hathaway in 1582. They had three children, Judith, Hamnet, and
Susanna. There are no living descendants of Shakespeare.1 Critic Stephen Orgel
brings up the issue of the family on Shakespeare?s work. He states that there is a
sense of illegitimacy in the family. ?He lived in a society without contraceptives, ?
we must assume ? that there were other children. ? Orgel continues this in his
critique ?Prospero?s Wife.? Shakespeare did not express a full
Memory Recollection
Neuroscience has been a foundational topic and one that is interesting to explore.
We as human beings are so complicated that we can t really tell why we are even
conscious! In fact, there is a multitude of research on how the brain is neurologically
connected to mind and behavior. As someone who preserves about seven hours of
sleep, I feel that sleep is vital for living organisms to function in their daily activities.
However, I stumbled upon an article that discusses the importance of taking a rest.
While people have the impression that sleep will attribute to a healthier mind and
body, many wouldn t recognize the importance of rest in conjunction of storing
information. In fact, resting for a few minutes can improve memoryrecollection rather

The article doesn t go into depth the details of the research, but I believe in a
connection between relaxation and performance. In our world, people who are
stressed with anxiety normally don t perform as well as people who don t feel
tension. Moreover, the article talks about overstimulation of the brain and how that
could cause memory problems. Regardless, I am not too worried about the
abstraction of neurons, but I am more refined in seeing that there are experimental
studies that proved the very relationship of rest and memory. For example, Michaela
Deware, a principle investigator at the Heriot Watt University, led an experiment in
2012. Her team investigated the results between those who had a ten minute rest and
those who didn t. The team found out that in comparison to those who haven t,
people who took the ten minute rest remembered ten percent more on a story they
heard last week. These volunteers who took the initiative to sleep were placed in an
empty, quiet room that was free from distractions. After a refinery on the matter of
sleep, what surprised me most about the article is that resting could actually help
insomniacs or people diagnosed with amnesia; they ll be able to relax and retain
memory a lot more
Salary Inequality and Performance in Mlb
Salary Inequality and Performance in MLB Introduction/Overview: This paper will
explore the effect of team chemistry on performance in Major League Baseball
(MLB). In the 2000s, the Yankees were a team of great individual talent, however,
their lack of team unity was noticeable. In the playoffs, when heart, guts, and team
chemistry matter greatly, the Yankees fell short and were easily eliminated each year.
It wasn t until 2009, when the Yankees acquired jokester Nick Swisher, prankster AJ
Burnett, and fun loving C.C. Sabathia that the chemistry of the team improved
drastically. Shaving cream pies to the faces of players who got the game winning hit,
and various other team pranks became the norm in the once tense Yankee clubhouse.

Lazear and Rosen s (1981) paper on tournament theory argues that if wages are
based on relative productivity, then workers with higher productivity will be
rewarded with higher wages. This, in turn, will increase the equilibrium effort and

peculiar costumes operating not only in the deep woods of Africa but also in the
urbanscapes wherever crime looms large. The Phantom series first came out in the

After the publication of Phantom, the aspects of colonial / postcolonial, ethnic
/ Eurocentric discourses, which were almost forgotten, began to pop up as in those
belts of Australia where there were aboriginal settlements for whom Phantom became
an icon and thus they loved to read these comics and idolise their hero. But the truth is
that the brutalities of European settlement in Australia is kept under the pretext of
Terra Nullius2 and a peaceful process which finds its apt expression through the
Phantom comics where the white man s arrival and settlement on a non European
space and building an empire is related in a way of cross cultural interaction, intimacy
and hospitality.
In colonial and post colonial British literature the phantom or ghost is a recurrent
figure that symbolises the repressed trauma attendant to colonisation that haunts
protagonists in novels such as Defoe s Robinson Crusoe and Brontes juvenilia. The
famous comic strip The Phantom by Lee Falk naturalised this figure, making him
into a normal man who fabricated a belief in his immortality. Referred to as The
Ghost Who Walks, his headquarters was in a cave, which also contained his vast
treasure. The Phantom ruled the natives of Africa and India, who superstitiously
believed that he was a white god who had lived for centuries. In 1525, the first
Phantom swore an oath to fight the pirates who had killed his father and to battle all
evil. Each subsequent
Consequences Of Rote Learning And Cramming
Consequences of rote learning and cramming, seen through the lens of a South Korean
Education systems in Asia are often characterized to be more overwhelming for
students, compared to Western countries. In South Korea, students are pressured to
ascend through high competition to enter a top tier university to get a good job. To
be superior than others in test scores, which are fundamental in getting into a good
university, Korean students often use cramming style and rote learning study method
to get high test scores and grades. They go through overwhelming amount of study
every day, and they have an extremely busy routine as they go to private institutes
called Hakwon , where they can get extra lessons out of school. Cramming for the ...

Many Korean university s acceptance are entirely based on this test. Also, unlike
SATs or other standardized tests which can be taken several times, this test can only
be taken once a year, which means that a student is delayed a full year if he does not
do well on his first test (Park). This pressures the Korean students are thus pressured
by the importance of this test and they become heavily immersed in studying since an
early age, which leads to stress and discontent. According to a survey released by the
Institute for Social Development Studies in Yonsei University, Korean teenagers
turned out to be the unhappiest among the countries listed in the Organization for
Economic Co operation and Development, mainly due to exam results and extreme
tiredness from studying ( We Don t Need Quite so Much Education ). Also, in 2009,
the suicide rate among young Koreans was 15 per 100,000, which is much larger
than 10 in America and 7 in China. Kim Jieun, a Korean student who took the
College Scholastic Ability test a few years ago, have narrated that, I thought of
emigrating. I hate the education system so much. ( The One shot society ). Living
such life, with a fixed routine, is enough to give students unbearable amount of stress.
Korean students are not only unhappy, but they lose
The Worst Things Going On Today Americ The Education
Gap...
Cynthia Chambless, a lecturer professor at Bergen Community College, is discussing
one of the worst things going on in Modern America: The Education Gap. As much as
we like to believe that our current education system is the same everywhere and any
student can succeed anywhere, unfortunately, the quality of educationdiffers from
each district. Cynthia has found that many students have learned more and better than
other students based on how high their social classis. In fact, students from poorer
neighborhoods can t even write properly. This has led to students from poorer
neighborhoods not being as prepared for collegeas students from more upper class
neighborhoods. The further we ignore this issue, the more people are set back
from getting their degree and accomplishing their goals. Students need the latest
resources to be successful in college and in life. Thus, The Education Gap between
the rich and the poor can be solved with more funding to community schools in
poor neighborhoods by the government because low funding is the primal reason
for students being so far behind compared to their higher social class peers. Eduardo
Porter said, despite the efforts deployed by the American public education system,
nine years later the achievement gap, on average, will have widened by somewhere
from one half to two thirds. (Eduardo 2015). If we don t stop this issue, the system
will only get worse. Meaning, more students will be behind and not getting the right

compliance of the organization. In this paper I will identify an area that is listed on
the organization s report card that can be developed. I will describe the procedures of
the plan, and the expectations and possible obstacles this plan may have.

I feel it would take a few weeks to get this plan implemented only because it would
be a change for hospital staff and we all know at time that changes take time to get
them going and all staff following new procedures. Staff would have to take the
extra few minutes to explain why a medication is being given. But, on the other
hand they would only have to explain it once not every single time a dose was
given and the patient would have a record of the medication they are taking. The
personnel involved in my plan would be the hospital pharmacist or IT department to
send down or make available to nursing staff handouts or database available to access
on each medication that is being administered to each patient while being hospitalized.
Expectations and Obstacles
My expectations from implementing this action would be that more patients are
aware of why a medication is being administered to them and what reactions could
possibly happen. In addition I feel that doing so would help element medication
distribution errors. The printing of medications being administered would have an
increase on the budget due to the paper cost and ink as well as time of staff. Some
obstacles that I feel may occur is that with the shortage of hospital staff is that they
would not want to take the extra time to explain to each and every patient why they
are being given a certain medication. However, implementing a medication awareness

Essay The Frozen Hope
Endih was a place of cold and sadness. My father and mother were killed by a Kalag,
a horrible beast. My father was a very powerful man. He was the ruler of our frosted
planet. When he died, I became the ruler, but I was very young, too young. I had no
idea what I was doing. Endih was in chaos.
10 years later, I was much older, and wiser. Maybe not that much wiser.
The War of a Thousand Worlds had begun. Fear ran through the veins of the Endih
people. I was very scared, too scared to stay away from the War.

My eyes were shut. I felt the cold air blow in. Why didn t you set up a vote? I heard

Brother, tell me, she said in a much softer tone. I opened my eyes, but, I didn t face

The Differences Of The Church Of Satan And The Church
Of...
The Church of Satan and the Church of Scientology are both new religious
movements that share a fascination with the individual self in which they place a lot
of attention on this concept. I believe the reasoning for such a focus on the self is
because conventional religion never emphasizes it. With that being said, both L. Ron
Hubbardand Anton Lavey went on to capitalize on this. They are two charismatic
leaders, wanted followers and therefore they tapped into an area that was never
discovered before. New religious movements tend to focus more on areas where
their previous religion never touch on, or restricted people from thinking that.
With that being said, these two leaders are suppose to add to people s lives and
that they did, although one seemed to care more about people s money. That
would be L.Ron Hubbard a former Navy officer who was twice relieved of duty for
erratic behavior. This man is just difficult to get an understanding of his personality.
While learning about L. Ron Hubbard it was clear that this man is just looking for
money. With program after program and books being pushed on to members to buy,
it looked like he started this religion because he needed a backup plan. It does not
appear that the Church of Scientologyreally cares about its member s individual self .
And it is the opposite of that with the Church of Satan with members are not given
the runaround, they are told from the beginning to explore self for themselves only.

How Pipes Can Help Confirm The Identity Of A Damaged
Vessel
Pipes are often found at underwater archaeological sites and can provide valuable
information, regardless of their condition. Broken pipes can provide similar
information to those found still fully intact based on key features, as long as they
are still preserved enough to identify. Based on such key features, the origins of
pipes can be traced back to their manufacturers, determining both where they came
from and the time period during which they were made. Because of this, pipes can
be used to help confirm the identity of a wrecked ship; pipes may be from the same
country as the wreck and be used as evidence to support claims of the origin of the
ship, or from a different country or region entirely, indicating some form of trade or...

Also, with the ability to date these pipes, it can be possible to date the ship as well.
By knowing the relative date and origin of the ship, and if the pipes can be related to
historical documents, there is potential to positively identify the ship and support the
claim.
Mediterranean and Ottoman style pipes are markedly different from their northern
European counterparts, allowing for distinctions to be made between different pipe
making traditions. Pipe smoking, concerning tobacco in particular, was popular
within the Balkans, and evidence suggests that it may have been practiced as early
as the end of the sixteenth century (Batchvarov 3). Conversely, it has also been
argued the English introduced tobacco smoking at the start of the seventeenth
century (Batchvarov 3). Stub stemmed or reed pipes were popular in this area, as
the remains of many were found in harbors in the waters of Malta. This style of pipe
is commonly found in association with inhabited areas and trade routes across the
Ottoman Empire (Wood 315). Of these pipes originating from the Mediterranean
that were discovered at a site in Dockyard Creek, Birgu, many had a keel joint
between the bowl and shank, a feature which begins in the late 17th early 18th
century (Wood 317). Due to this feature, it is possible to roughly date these pipes, as
they could not be from a time period

Unnatural More Than One Meaning? There are those words that have more than one

The word second can mean something that is right after the first, or it can be a unit of

meanings are also related. Burton Leiser questions the way unnatural is used when he
hears people say that homosexual intercourse is unnatural. Views on homosexuality

I have been told that I look like a duck or an ostrich when I run, but that doesn t
give a reason for me to be condemned. Some uncommon or abnormal traits can be
praised because they are so unique. Some people are good at cooking and some
people aren t good at cooking, which benefits a lot of people because people can
enjoy good food without having to deal with their lack of cooking skills. I
definitely would not condemn a person who knows how to make a good steak, or
even a good wine. If unnatural is used in this sense, then homosexuality can t be
condemned. The fourth argument on if homosexuality is unnatural is based on
how any use of an organ or an instrument that is different from its main use can be
seen as unnatural. Every organ in the body and every tool or instrument is
designed to do a certain task. Sometimes, if a tool is used in a certain way, that is
different to its original use, it can be improper, and even harmful. Keys are used to
unlock doors, unlock padlocks, and start cars, but some people use keys to cut
through plastic containers. Keys are not designed for cutting, and if a person is not
careful, that person can cut or stab him or herself in the process. People know that
the main purpose for sex organs is to reproduce and to create more of their own kind.
No other organs in the body have the ability to reproduce. Any other use of the sex
organs, such as homosexual behavior, and even masturbation, can be seen as
unnatural.
The Upside of Team Work
Team work is main to develop a project and to get good result. Working with
different people, different attitudes and different all these should be handled very
carefully and bring everyone on one track to achieve goals. Team member s
coordination is much more important in all aspects to get success and to develop
company. They should be correct understanding among all the members and they
should know what they are doing. Every matter should discuss with all the
members and the decision should be made. The ideas should be shared with
everyone to get feedback. Work should complete on time and should be accurate.
Team building will helps to work complete in time and to get more ideas and helps
to think in innovative way. Communication plays key role to complete work done.
The behaviour of the members will also affects the team. Members in the have
different behaviour, attitude, work tension and communication problems all these
goes in wrong way which disturb the team. Facing all these problems and bring them
into work all these will done in team work. Facing all the things, avoiding
domination, good communication, sharing of work will help to form good team to
reach goals.
Working in a team will totally different compare to doing individual work. Working
with different people. Attitudes and communication all play a key role in team
building. Members in the team will have different learning styles. First to settle in
team it taken some time to understand each other. Firstly we

looking at the damp air, wondering what kind of idiot would be out in this. I wasn
t one of those people. I was the idiot in a rioting deer blind, wondering why the deer
had stopped showing up at that blind in the last 5 days. With 30 minutes left until I
could see to shoot, a movement in the distance caught my eye. I pulled up my
binoculars and watched a big 6 point buck appear out of the brush, 75 yards down
the road. Most people would have killed him, right then and there. However, I knew
that bigger bucks haunted this woods than that, so I waited. 15minutes later, he had
showed in the small clearing 100 yards in front of me, like a ghost out of the mist. I
Watched that deereat for a few minutes, hoping that another deer would show. Then,
as I was ready to give up, a movement deep in the woods caught my eye. I watched a
deer walk out, and he mad the other buck look like a ant. I knew it was a buck, and I
knew he was big. I was wondering how I could be sure he was a nice 8, when all of
the sudden he turned his head and 2 snow white popples silhouetted his antlers. I
counted 8 points on his head, and began the process of making a shot. I grabbed my
muzzleloader out of the corner. As I put the barrel out the window, I looked over my

My Family, The Asaf Jah Dynasty Essay
I, Nizam of Hyderabad, am truly delighted with the opinion of the British Governor
General who has decided that I must stay in power of my state, Hyderabad.
Hyderabad has been under my rule for thirty seven years and this city has flourished
the most during my reign; it is only justified that I remain as the ruler of this state for
as long as I breathe.
My family, the Asaf Jah Dynasty has been in control of Hyderabad since the
decline of Mughal Empire. This dynasty was founded by Mir Qamar ud Din
Siddiqi, a viceroy of the Deccan under the Mughal Empire from 1713 to 1721. When
the Mughal control collapsed in 1724, Asaf Jah declared himself independent in
Hyderabad, and that is how we, the Nizams, have been ruling for more than two
centuries.
During the period of my rule, Hyderabad State became the richest state in India. I
was presented with the title of His Exalted Highness, and Faithful Ally of the British
Government by the imperial colonial British government for our collaborating role
in the wars against Tipu Sultan of Mysore, the First war of Indian Independence of
1857 1858, after which I became the only Indian prince to be given both these titles.
With the start of World War 1 in 1914, I contributed a large amount of financial and
material aid to the British Government. In fact, my own personal army served with
the British at the war front. My constant and unparalleled support to the British
government strengthened our friendship, which was exemplified in the raising
Faith-Based Nonprofit Organizations
Introduction
As stated previously, the purpose of this study has been to identify and explore
internal factors which may lead to a lack of success in faith based nonprofit
organizations (FBNPO). Previously published studies have shown there is a gap in
the way FBNPOs operate and the desired results (Akingbola 2013). Specifically, as it
concerns the internal administration and their integral role within the ministry. Other
studies suggest factors that may affect effectiveness in accomplishing a mission and
include: lack of proper internal structure and ineffective leadership development and
delegation. Further, two newer areas researched are inconsistent funding patterns and
organizational attention given to administration. However, because ... Show more

Those at the helm must be people of character, people of integrity, people who
present the correct numbers no matter how easy it is to misrepresent them for
profitable gain. These people must also be able to distribute responsibilities as or
through an administrator. The reason for this corresponds with the major question
and promotes success when there is a person to manage the internal and
administrative tasks so those dealing externally would have the freedom to continue
their work without dealing with what should be delegated to others (Schadt, 2018).
This truly encapsulates the motive behind this study and its relevance to those in
FBNPOs. If this type of structure does not exist, the nonprofit will not reach its

Construction/Job Site Inspections
Land Development
Another great use for drones in field of land development is for conceptual site
plans. Too often we find ourselves trying to decipher a pixelated Google Earth map
that hasn t been updated in the last couple of years. This is especially handy when
looking at redeveloping sites, since there is often not much original design
information available from the seller or local jurisdictions. The two images below
are aerial shots taken above the same site. The image on the left is from Google Earth,
and the image on the right is from a drone with a 12 MP camera. It is much easier to

Rotary wing DRONEs are adding a new dimension by being able to offer a different
perspective for these inspections. These DRONEs can hover and operate below the
conductor on the tower. High definition, image stabilized cameras that provide details
of hardware, insulators and mounting assemblies are now available, but before
DRONEs, this could only be seen by someone climbing the structure. If LiDAR
equipment is added to the payload, the transmission line inspection also can include 3
D imaging from many different angles never before available. This is invaluable for
tasks such as vegetation management and clearance compliance.
Transmission providers are not the only energy providers using DRONEs; the
generation side of the business has found many applications for these remarkable
devices, as has the renewable energy sector. A power plant has many areas requiring
inspection to determine what maintenance needs to be performed, ranging from the
inside of boilers to the maze of piping found in plants. Wind and solar farms also
require a great deal of inspection for maintenance. Turbines are complex, and
technicians cover everything from the tip of the turbine blade to the tower that
supports the nacelles.
By using a DRONE for these inspections, there is no need to place personnel in
dangerous positions requiring high lift buckets, slings
Dicks Case Study Solution
Recommendation Implementation: Recommendation Summary Given the strength
and rapid growth of online retailers coupled with the national brands attempting to
decrease their dependency on middlemen retailers, Dick s must consider a strategy
that ensures their continued relevance and dominance in their respective industry.
Attempting to go against Amazon or other large online only retailers would place
Dick s at a disadvantage given that their overhead costs will never be as low as the
companies that do not need to hold and operate prime retail real estate. For the
aforementioned reason, this report advises against committing excessive resources
towards the development of the e commerce platform, DicksSportingGoods.com.
Similarly, the focused expansion of private labels may not necessarily achieve long
term market relevance for Dick s in the sporting goods industry. Furthermore,
aggressive expansion within the private label sphere may alienate current key
partners, such as Nike and Under Armour, which would be detrimental to Dick s
revenue streams both in the short and long term. Instead, this report suggests that
Dick s continues to expand its presence as a platform provider.... Show more content

marketing of this platform could be done at a relatively low cost as long as the
marketing happens within the confines of the brick and mortar locations. However,
the development and marketing of this platform should not transform Dick s into a

Airline transportation has become the most important part of the modern
transportation system because of the nature of benefits it presents to the society and
the other industries and fields that depends on it. Airline industry is undoubtedly
critical in creating a new global economy in which is growing at a faster rate. Airline
transportation is very essential today because it supports other industries through its
globalization objectives that are good for the businesses and organizations around the
globe. These needs in terms of business opportunities creates pressure for both the
plane manufacturers and the airline companies in which drives them into increasing
innovations, inventions and investments that satisfy consumers. Emirates Airlines is
one of such airline companies that have capitalized on this opportunity to grow into
a global company. It has grown to become the successful airline in the world and the
largest in the Middle East region (Emirates, 2012). The Emirates Group which also
manages the airline is based in Dubai. The group was founded in 1985 launching a
strong foundation in aviation, tourism, travel and leisure industries. Emirates Airlines
Company is part of the United Arab Emirate government. The government played a
critical role in the formation of the company which was way in which it could
enhance growth of the carrier network of the airline company to a substantial level.

The Real Historical Accuracy of Enigma Most historically based movies try to
reenact exactly what happened in the historical events that took place, while others
have added twists to them, like a change in storyline, proving its historical inaccuracy.
The 2001 film Enigma stars Tom Jericho, a British mathematician who solved the
German Enigma code, shark , the first time around and is called back into Bletchley
Park to do it again. While doing so, he teams up with his ex girlfriend s roommate,
Hester Wallace, to detect why his ex, Claire Romilly, has disappeared and
discovered secret information on the Katyn Forest Massacre and a German spy in
the British Intelligence System. This movie is both historically accurate and
inaccurate because the information it provided about the German Enigma,
Bletchley Park, and the Katyn Forest Massacre is true, yet some details behind the
characters Jozef Pukowski and Tom Jericho are falsely stated. In reflecting upon
the movie, it is obvious the producers were sticking to a particular agenda in
altering storylines related to other historical figures to keep it centered around the
British and Germans in order to avoid confusion while it also presented a new
perspective in seeing the significance this Enigma War had to the Allies success in
WW II, even though the historical value of the film didn t seem real at first. Michael

Urban Regeneration And Urban Development
1.INTRODUCTION:
This dissertation is influenced by the ongoing urban regeneration and urban
developments in many of the major cities in India, especially in city of Pune, and
its adverse effects on the city townscapes and place identities. City of Pune has a
rich education legacy and has been often referred as the Oxford of the East , a legacy
which came into prominence on the establishment of the University of Pune in the
year 1949 (Hindustan Times, 2012). The city truly justified itself as the cultural
capital of Maharashtra with its strong connections with the work of arts, music,
theater and literature (Hindustan Times, 2012). Pune, being an educational hub of
India by having the one of the India s oldest University (Maharashtra Tourism, 2013),
has now been heavily developed into a city known for manufacturing and
automobiles, as well as government and private sector research institutes for
information technology education, management and training that attract students and
professionals internationally (SCHEMCON, 2015). With the inception of
international influences and urban planning techniques, it has been realized that the
old heritage and culture, the core Pune identity is slowly been taking a blow. The
urbanization has been transforming the urban townscapes of Pune into completely
new dimensions thus hampering the glorious heritage and cultural identity for which
the city of Pune is known for. The following research will highlight the importance of

In conclusion all the stakeholders work so hard to Make A wish happen. Each
stakeholder does their own bit which is really important to make the charity
happen. The staffs are one can are the main organise of Make A Wish. Without
them you are not about to run a functional charity. You need people to help you
organise fund raisers but they are in control of money so how much a wish will
cost. They have to organise the wish from booking the flights or calling the
celebrities up. The Volunteers are also a big part because without them you would
have a big charity but also there would not be as many wishes granted as they re is
now. The volunteer bring is so much money in 2012 they brought in (see below).
Without their help the cost of staff would be so much bigger which will lead to
fewer wishes. Hopefully in the next few years there will be so many more
volunteers which will mean more income which leads to more children wishes
coming true. The volunteers don t ask for much in return but just to be able to see
that dying child last wish come true and to be able to see that big smile which could

Ayahuasca Substance Abuse
Summary
In 2011, a preliminary though not well conducted study of ayahuasca assisted
treatment for drug abuse was conducted in Canada. As part of the study, twelve
subjects with addictions to alcohol, cocaine, tobacco, cannabis, opiates, and other
drugs participated in several days of group therapy and two ayahuasca treatments.
Data concerning psychological and behavioral conditions were collected through a
series of surveys both before and after the completion of the study. The categories
being assessed were comprised of mindfulness, empowerment, emotional regulation,
hopefulness, and quality of life. The measures were then calculated by using

First described academically during the 1950s by Harvard ethnobotanist Richard
Schultes, ayahuasca is derived from the Brazilian Banisteriopsis caapi and
Psychotria viridis. The resulting brew is highly concentrated with a compound
known as dimethyltryptamine (DMT) which causes vivid, dream like
hallucinations (3). DMT is found endogenously in many organisms, with small
amounts present in the pineal gland of mice and perhaps that of humans. However,
because of a family of enzymes in the liver known as monoamine oxidases,
ingestion of DMT containing substances has no effect on humans as the compound
is quickly broken down. It is for this reason that the ayahuasca brew must be made
with the specific species of plants. By boiling the plants for several hours, alkaloids
which act as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) are released. This inhibits the
enzymes from breaking down the DMT and allows the substance to cross the blood
brain barrier

Essay on Setting in Hills Like White Elephants, by Ernest...
In the short story by Ernest Hemingway, Hills Like White Elephants, a couple is
delayed at a train station en route to Madrid and is observed in conflict over the
girl s impending abortion. In his writing, Hemingway does not offer any
commentary through a specific character s point of view, nor, in the storytelling,
does he offer his explicit opinions on how to feel or think about the issues that
emerge. The narrative seems to be purely objective, somewhat like a newspaper or
journal article, and in true Hemingway form the story ends abruptly, without the
couple s conflict clearly being resolved. The ambiguity of the ending has been a
subject of much debate; however, the impact of what is not said in words can be

Las Vegas Stadium Tragedy
In addition, academics have attempted to explain stadium subsidies not only in terms
of economic returns, but intangible benefits as well. That is, there is clearly some
social phenomenon in driving stadium development in terms of the societal role of
sports and/or the desire to build large, lasting monuments or edifices. Eckstein
Delaney (2002) discuss collective conscience and community self esteem (p. 235) in
terms of manipulative strategies used by pro stadium advocates, suggesting these
sociologic elements seem to override rudimentary economic arguments and
commonsense. However, Carlino Coulson (2004) using regressive analysis of higher

Disadvantages Of Web-Based Learning
Web based learning leads to the change in roles of teachers and students in learning
processes. This is due to the fact that web based learning applies the concept of
learner centered approach in learning. To compare, in traditional ways of teaching
and learning, teachers played a big role, which was as the giver or provider of
knowledge (Web based Learning: Good or Bad?). Students during that time depended
solely on teachers to give information about the topics covered in every subject that
they were learning. It is understandable because technology during that time was not
as advanced as the technology that we have nowadays. Therefore, another way of
students to gain additional information about a particular subject was by going to
libraries.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As stated in the article of Orientation to Web based Learning , unlike in traditional
way in learning which assesses students achievement through oral and written
examinations, web based learning introduces more innovative approach, such as
through forums, online quizzes and e portfolio (Web based Learning: Good or
Bad?). This new assessment approach does not only encourage students be more
creative, for example in conducting a forum, but also helps them to improve their soft
skills, especially communication skills and computer skills. This will then lead to the
change in role of teachers as those new assessment approach stated earlier would be
able to overcome the issue of examination oriented teaching , which only strives for
students academic excellence in examination.
Teachers can now focus on helping students to pass their examinations with flying
colors, as well as polish their soft skills, such as leadership and cooperative skills,
in order to produce well balanced students academically and socially. Hence, it can
be concluded that application of web based learning has led to change in the role of
teachers and students in learning processes.
Web based learning is an innovative approach which brings various advantages to
teaching and learning processes. There are a lot of advantages, or prospects of
implementing web based learning in educational institutions, but the most significant
ones are the flexibility, and accessibility and equal opportunity for

the conflict in the book. Jack s pride represents how people are evil and immoral
when all rules are taken away.
Jack shows pride by electing himself to be chief so he can be in charge. I ought to
be chief, said Jack with simple arrogance, because I m chapter chorister and head
boy. I can sing C sharp. This quote exemplifies how Jack volunteered himself to be
in charge. Jack wanted to be above everybody, so he tried to convince everyone to
let him be chief. He wanted to have power and authority. We ll hunt. I m going to
be chief. This is yet another quote that shows how Jack was stubborn about how he
believed he deserved to be chief. He did not bother to ask the others about their
opinion on who should be in charge. Instead he just appointed himself. His tone
conveyed a warning, given out of the pride of ownership, and the boys ate fast
while there was still time. This quote shows how Jack was obsessed with the
power of being chief. Jack scared the other boys into respecting him as a leader.
Jack shows pride in these quotes, because he shows that he believes he should be
chief, because he is superior to everybody. All of the other boys chose Ralph as
their leader, so Jack creates conflict by challenging Ralph as chief. Jack trying to
usurp Ralph as chief shows how he was putting his needs before those of the entire
group. Jack was too prideful to allow Ralph to be in charge, and constantly
challenged him as a leader. This conflict gets in the way of the boys being able to
work together to try to survive and get rescued.
Jack shows pride by talking to his peers as if he is above them. You re talking too
much. Shut up, Fatty. This quote was spoken by Jack to Piggy. This quote shows
how Jack believed he had more of a right to speak than Piggy. He intended to put
down Piggy to get Piggy to submit to him. Give me a drink. This quote shows how
Jack forced others to serve him, because he believed that being a leader meant be
should be treated better. He ruled
Important Writing Skills in the Workplace
The Importance of Writing Skills in the Workplace What are the words you write
revealing about you? Are they saying I am a well educated and smart business
person or are they screaming that I am an ignoramus? The way you write reveals
so much about you and your business skills. Your writing tells the reader about your
educational background, whether you have pride in your work and your level of
business expertise. Any company with employees who write clearly and concisely
has a competitive edge over other companies whose employees are still struggling to
communicate. The lack of good writingskills in the business place can lead to
excessive turnovers, loss of profits and high costs unless remedies are established. In

Many managers are unaware of the legal liability that e mail plays in our
courtrooms. Some ways that companies can avoid litigations in court are; writing
with accuracy and precision, know your topic, be consistent, and avoid negative
comments. Recently, General Motors was hit with a $4.9 billion verdict. That
verdict was based largely upon an internal memo. One researcher reports in Every
Word Counts from Patricia S Eyres concludes, the fact is that during a trial, the
courts will review and analyze everything from informal memos to performance
appraisals to marketing plans, all of which may be turned against the company
(80). Another high cost for businesses today is illiteracy. Per this quotation, the
U.S. Department of Labor estimates that illiteracy accounts for about $225 billion
each year in lost productivity (Donovan E mail 15). Most companies today don t
track that cost, however their overall profit will reflect it. Several published articles
referenced companies that were hit with heavy penalties relating back to their
employees writing skill levels. This cost is needless and unbearable for many
companies to carry. Companies are also faced with excessive employee turnover or
loss of manpower. Writing skills should be part of the interview process for most
companies. Thereby avoiding numerous turnovers and retraining cost. Several
companies are faced with the termination of colleagues due to their writing
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Dry Bulk Cargo
From grains to coal and from sugar to cocoa, dry bulk cargo cover a range of produce
and raw materials that have two features in common: they are unpacked and are
homogeneous. These two properties make it easier for dry bulk cargo to be dropped
or poured into the hold of a bulk carrier. Figure: Dry Bulk Carrier
Without the estimated 500 million DWT of dry bulk shipping transported by sea
annually, life today would be altered dramatically. Just having breakfast would be a
very different event, with the ingredients of bread and cereal coming from dry
bulks, as well as coffee and the sugar to sweeten it. Even the metal elements of your
toaster and kettle come by sea and the coal to generate the electricity supply to
power both appliances is likewise shipped in. Other dry bulk cargo include iron ore,
alumina fertilisers, scrap, sulphur and cement, as well as a large number of
agricultural products for the human and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Bulk and Break bulk are two terms that are being used incorrectly and interchangeably
during the course of day to day business. These terms cannot be used interchangeably
because there are distinctive differences between Bulk and Break Bulk in terms of
cargo, nature, size, capacity, handling, trade, customers, ports, terminals, equipment,
infrastructure etc.
The difference between Bulk and Break Bulk
The term Bulk relates to trades where dry cargo such as Iron ore, Grain, Alumina
and Phosphate are carried in loose form (i.e. cargo is not packed) and loaded directly
into the holds of the vessel, see
John Scopes Monkey Trial Analysis
The Scopes Trial was one of the most famous court cases ever. The case lasted from
the 10 21 of July in 1925. This means that there were eight trial days. This case all
started when John Scopes was accused of teaching evolution in school. In Monkey
Trial begins by the History channel stated, ...accused of teaching evolutionin violation
of a Tennessee state law.
The law, which had been passed in March, made it a misdemeanor punishable by
fine to teach any theory that denies the story of the Divine Creation of man as
taught in the Bible, and to teach instead that man has descended from a lower order
of animals. Nearly a thousand people, 300 of whom were standing, jammed the Rhea

This announcement stated that they would offer their service to anyone who would
like to go against the newly passed Butler Law. Rappalye saw this as an opportunity
to put Dayton on the map. This plan did put Dayton on the map just like Rappalye
hoped it would. He lured John Scopes a young science teacher to the drugstore.
There he convinced Scopes to teach evolution in the classroom. From here the trial
eventually began and became one of history s most famous court cases ever.
When the trial began on the 10th of July spectators and reporters were quick on the
scene. The Streets of Dayton, Tennessee had a carnival like atmosphere. It lasted for
seven more historic days. People were selling all sorts of things to flame the fire of
the court case.
Each day started out with a prayer by different people. On day one the jury was
chosen; it consisted mostly of churchgoers.
According to State v. John Scopes ( The Monkey Trial )by Douglas O. Linder stated,
The defense s goal was not to win acquittal for John Scopes, but rather to obtain a
declaration by a higher court preferably the U.S. Supreme Court that laws forbidding
the teaching of evolution were unconstitutional.. The defense team was hoping that
no one was realizing what they were
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Venture Capital Funds
VCs Who they are, who they fund in India.
Venture capital, as we use the term, refers to one type of private equity investing.
Private equity investments are investments by institutions or wealthy individuals in
both publicly quoted and privately held companies. Private equity investors are more
actively involved in managing their portfolio companies than regular, passive retail
investors. The main types of financing included in private equity investing are venture
capital and management and leveraged buyouts.
Venture Capital Funding Process
Venture Capital financing is usually a five phased process, and may get extended
subject to the performance of the venture being funded. These five commonly found
stages are as below:

Upon successful completion of due diligence, the VC hands over a Term sheet to the
entrepreneurs. This document lays down the details of the basic terms and condition
of the agreement between the two parties. Once the legalities of the document are
completed, the funds are made available to the firm.
The determinants of venture capital funding
Venture capital has been the driving force behind some of the most vibrant sectors of
the US economy over the past two decades. Venture capitalists were instrumental in
fostering the tremendous growth of firms such as Microsoft, Compaq, Oracle, and
Sun Microsystems, which were all founded less than 20 years ago, but have rapidly
become dominant players in the high technology arena. While the contributions
venture capital makes to the economy overall are underexplored, there exists a
widespread belief that
Stanley s Holes
Stanley Yelnats calls himself an unlucky child. His word is proven when he is sent
to Camp Green Lake for something he didn t even do. Stanley was walking on the
street when a pair of shoes fell down and hit him on the head. Those shoes turned
out to be Clyde Sweet Feet Livingston s shoes that he has donated to a shelter.
Stanley is sent to court, charged with robbery and has a choice of going to prison,
or to Camp Green Lake. Stanley thinks Camp Green Lake is a better choice.
Stanley travels to Camp where he meets some friends in group D. A surprise to

Essay about Effects of Different levels of T.V Violence...
Abstract
EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT LEVELS OF T.V VIOLENCE ON AGGRESSION:
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of different levels of television
violence on grade school children. Since some studies show that younger children
are more prone to aggression than older children. This study is designed to show
how violence plays a role in aggression. The intention is to show that violence causes
different aggression levels between males and females. The second purpose of this
study is to show if there are any significant differences between males and females
and aggression induced by violence. The information on gender difference and
aggression is controversial. All the children were mixed in this experiment combined

The United Sates is the clear leader among modern, stable democratic nations in its
rates of homicides, assault, rape, and robbery, and it is among the highest in
incidents of group violence and assassinations. This high level of violence is
dangerous to our society. It is disfiguring out society making fortresses of portions of
our cities and dividing our people into armed camps. It is jeopardizing to some of our
most precious institutions; among them our schools and universities poisoning the
spirit of trust and cooperation that is essential to their proper functioning.
In the past years until now, violence among children has increased dramatically.
Cases have been reported where grade school students take guns and other weapons
to school and use them against their teachers and classmates. Things of that sort are
very much a reality for schools around the country. Is the reason for these acts of
violence that children are becoming more aggressive at younger ages? Does, the
media have to do something with the increase in violence of young children, the fact
that the media has more violence in it than any other point in history? It could be a
combination of things, including work, single parents, peer pressures, etc. The true
concern is that the media entertains children with violent shows, which are aimed at
them. Some networks agreed to place advisories warning before and the prime time
television programs which they determined
Research Paper On Hysteria
Introduction Many people ask, What is hysteria? According to dictionary.com, the
exact definition is: an uncontrollable outburst of emotion or fear, often characterized
by irrationality, laughter, weeping, etc. As well, there is a psychological answer for
hysteria. Many psychologists state that hysteria can range from numbness to paralysis
as well as vomiting to erectile dysfunction. With that being said, many people know
hysteria as the state when people become irrational. Throughout history, there have
been many cases of hysteria, one of the most well known being the Salemwitch trials.
There have been more recent cases of mass hysteria. With the year 1999 coming to

The US, planned for this by passing the Year 2000 Information and Readiness
Disclosure Act. This act, which was signed in 1998 by Bill Clinton, encouraged
businesses to disclose information about the Y2K bug. If a company did comply with
this and release information that they knew, their business would be protected if they
had lost customers. Britain was another greatly prepared. The British Government
would provide armed forces if the police, transportation, and emergency services
failed. However, smaller countries and even Russia and Italy had done very little
preparing.
Aftermath
The aftermath of the Y2K bug was quite surprising. There was, for one, an estimated
$300 billion spent to upgrade computers for the Y2K bug. Almost half of that was
spent in the United States, alone. However, there were a few problems due to the
bug. For instance. A nuclear facility in Ishikawa, Japan failed. This would have
been a problem except that the backups ensured everyone s safety. Another problem,
was the US detected missile launches in Russia. The world had planned ahead of
time, due to its conflict in their republic of Chechnya. However, there were many
sighs of relief at the end of the day.

The Fifth Discipline by Peter Senge Essay
Indeed, not all external knowledge may be easily used and transformed into new
artefacts. If external knowledge is easily accessible, transformable into new artefacts
and exposed to many actors (such as customers and suppliers), then innovative entry
may take place (Winter, 1984). On the contrary, if advanced integration capabilities
are necessary (Cohen and Levinthal, 1989), the industry may be concentrated and
formed of large established firms. Third, the domain relates to the degree of
accessibility of knowledge (Malerba and Orsenigo,
2000), i.e. opportunities of gaining knowledge that are external to firms. Knowledge
that is accessible may be internal or external to the sector. In both cases, greater

Bason stresses that when it comes to their development efforts, public sector
organisation seem to spend 80 per cent of their energies on understanding the past
and (at best) managing the present, and perhaps only 20 per cent of their efforts on
systematically exploring future directions for better policies and services (p. 19).
Therefore, the best way for somebody s development is adequate, timely and
inspiring feedback.
Alternatively, an important influence is to give somebody also a new and more
ambitious task, which requires more effort and external knowledge accruing. And
finally, a classical and formal schooling, carefully planned and executed, is also
important.
As seen, the key component of a high performance organisation is a dynamic learning
mode. A learning organisation places a premium on innovation, risk taking, training,
the right tools, communication, and measurement (Hale, 1996). Senge (1990b: 7)
quoted W. Edwards Demings belief that we have been systematically destroying the
very attributes needed by a high performance organisation: People are born with
intrinsic motivation, self esteem, dignity, curiosity to learn, joy in learning. The
forces of destruction begin with toddlers a price for the best Halloween costume,
grades in school, gold stars, and on up through the university.
On the job, people, teams, divisions are ranked reward for one at the top, punishing at
the bottom. MBO, quotas, incentive pay, business plans ...
Government Spying On You Without Permission
Do you ever want the government spying on you without permission? This is what
the Department of Homeland Security (D.H.S) is doing to you because of an act
that passed 45 days after the 9/11 attack. The Congress had to rush the act since they
fear more attacks will happen, and was quickly passed without votes. In fact,
homeland security is against our civil liberties (personal freedom). My partner and I
believe that homeland security in the United Statesshould be controlled by the
government because it is against a lot of amendments in the Constitution, and popular
sovereignty (citizen s power).
On the other hand, my opponents might say homeland security sacrifices privacy
for better protection and safety, but in my opinion it is cheating to go through
records without any permission by a guardian or the court. In the United Kingdom,
the government has a law called Do not spy on us which is using the parliament to
stop power on spying citizen s records, this is a great example to the U.S . It also
recommend to have a secure internet for the U.K and to have transparent laws not
secret laws. Also, my opponent might say homeland security is preventing acts of
terrorism and improving their protection since the 9/11 attacks, but in my opinion, the
D.H.S and other police departments are removing privacy from other citizens, many

searches and seizures. From the Washington Blog in September 23rd, 2013, they

But then the question that arises is what are the agency...
But then the question that arises is what are the agency problems solved by them and
why are boards the solution to these problems? The agency problem in any
corporation is between the management and the shareholders. And the problem arises
because of lack of control of shareholders on the management and the possibility of
the managementcheating the shareholders. The possible solution to this problem is
either providing the management with incentive or strengthening the position of
shareholders to tackle the problem on their own. But then the question arises who
provides the management with the incentives and how the shareholders are
strengthened. Thus the board can be seen as a bridge or a medium, as suggested by
literature, between... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another evidence that the board has become stricter is increase in the probabilities
of CEO dismissal. The board not only controls what the management does but also
the process of hiring and compensating the top executives. The question that arises
here is whether the board steps forward and acquires the costly signal about
competency of the CEO or not? On the other hand, how does the CEO influences
the board and gains control it, how well does the CEO market her capabilities in
order to bargain for less independent board? The question that arises here is that if
board controls the dismissal of CEO then why are directors reluctant to object to
CEO s decisions which are not in favor of the shareholders, why doesn t the board
remove the CEO when her performance is poor? Why do the board directors are
happy to always act as yes man instead of acting as a troublemaker or a strict
monitor . Mace (1986) shows that directors remain steadfastly loyal to misguided
CEOs.
Jensen (1993, pp. 862 3) observes in his Presidential Address to the American
Finance Association: The problems with corporate internal control systems start with
the board of directors. The board, at the apex of the internal control system, has the
final responsibility for the functioning of the firm. Most importantly, it sets the rules
of the game for the CEO. The job of the board is to hire, fire,

He would get excited each time Shelley or his friends would engage and play with him. He was displaying lots of giggles and excitement throughout some floor time with friends. The children and Jett are beginning to form a lovely friendship and it is lovely to see the older children becoming so enthused in Jett and protective of him. • 4. Letters from an American Farmer Essay We Are America America a land known for its ideals of freedom and new opportunities, a nation built under the idea that every man and women is created equal. However, the definition of what makes a person an American is entirely different from what it is that makes up America, itself. J.Hector St. John Crevecoeur, author of Letters from an American Farmer (1782), exposes what he believes makes an American. However, when compared to the standards of what makes an American in today s world, it seems that becoming an American then was much simpler then, than it is today. The definitionof an American is always evolving due to the influences of our changing nation. During a simpler time, Crevecoeur defined an American as someone of European ... America welcomed anyone who would work hard to achieve their dreams and strive for their goals. Compared to the 18th century, people who enter the United States, today, are also looking to start anew; and are looking to work hard for their rights. America still believes in freedom and in being the land of opportunities even though time has changed some of America s original ideals. Nowadays, becoming an American is not as simple as entering America and obtaining land. For example, there is the process of applying for citizenship, something that has now become a big part of defining an American. Hundreds of thousands of people per year apply for citizenship, yet not many people are granted the opportunity to become one. Anonymous shared their story online and said, I never once thought immigration would affect me, until I realized that laws change and if you are just a resident here...you have no protection (Defining American). Immigrants feel citizens have more rights than people who are just residents. An immigrant wanting to become a citizen must go through a variety of questions about the United States and what its founders had set as its ideals. Though, with patience, an immigrant can become an American within a
  • 5. Invisibility Of The Oppressed Group Analysis There are four central elements that are prevalent in all forms of oppression, each of these elements are complimentary of one another and helps perpetuate the existence of oppression. (Pharr, 1988). Invisibility of the oppressed group occurs when those in power omit or distort the past and current accomplishments of the oppressed group. This practice of invisibility occurs through television, movies, and educational books which omit or rewrite historical actions and achievements of minority groups. This reinforces the idea the societal norm is the majority, and those who do not fall within this category are nonexistent, or have not made any positive contributions to society. While members of the LGBT community have become more visible in

Time slowed down for a moment as the pie drifted lazily through the air, individual flecks of whipped cream flying gently behind it like streamers on a maypole in the wind. It finished the circle and landed perfectly flat on the carpet, a trail of key limecarnage dripping the few feet from the table to the landing point. There was a full beat of silence, and then the chaos really set in. FITZ! Are you kidding me, Tom, I didn t even touch it, you know that was you. It was No! Not I didn t ! Well, it s not going to work. And stop looking at me like that! Like what? Nothing, Mom. In reality, though, I had made friends mercifully early on in my freshman year. The theatre teacher s office was a sort of haven for kids who could perform perfectly timed, immaculately annunciated dialogues onstage, but often struggled to remember their own name when it came to talking to people in real life. • 8. What Is Nietzsche On Will To Power Inspired by Arthur Schopenhauer s idea the will to live and a desire to rebut Christianity s promotion of morality, Friedrich Nietzsche coined the term will to power as the accurate description of man s driving force. Within Nietzsche s perspective, Values did man only assign to things in order to maintain himself he created only the significance of things, a humansignificance! (Thus Spoke Zarathustra 51). This therefore implies that humanity developed values as a means of self preservation. However, as civilized society further isolates man from the perils of nature, thus limiting the threats to self preservation, Nietzsche asserts the higher motivation of ... a living thing wants to discharge its strength life itself is will to power : self preservation is only one of the indirect and most frequent consequences of this. • 9. Analysis Of Shakespeare s The Tempest Malouin Malouin 11 Measuring a Life in a Drama When many people think of William Shakespeare, they think of plays like Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth or Hamlet. One of the most influential plays written by Shakespeare is not one listed above. The play that reflects the life and all of Shakespeare?s plays is The Tempest. This work was and still is influential in both America, Britain and around the world. Although William Shakespearewas an influential writer in American and British literature, The Tempest reaches beyond a comparison to the new world America and points to an autobiographical drama that is a reflection of the life of Shakespeare and his relationships with characters, family and himself. William Shakespeare was born on April 23, 1564, in Stratford on Avon to John and Mary Shakespeare. His humble beginnings lead him to the man he was to become. His father worked as a leather maker and eventually became the town bailiff. His mother worked as a stay at home mother. Shakespeare had married Anne Hathaway in 1582. They had three children, Judith, Hamnet, and Susanna. There are no living descendants of Shakespeare.1 Critic Stephen Orgel brings up the issue of the family on Shakespeare?s work. He states that there is a sense of illegitimacy in the family. ?He lived in a society without contraceptives, ? we must assume ? that there were other children. ? Orgel continues this in his critique ?Prospero?s Wife.? Shakespeare did not express a full
  • 10. Memory Recollection Neuroscience has been a foundational topic and one that is interesting to explore. We as human beings are so complicated that we can t really tell why we are even conscious! In fact, there is a multitude of research on how the brain is neurologically connected to mind and behavior. As someone who preserves about seven hours of sleep, I feel that sleep is vital for living organisms to function in their daily activities. However, I stumbled upon an article that discusses the importance of taking a rest. While people have the impression that sleep will attribute to a healthier mind and body, many wouldn t recognize the importance of rest in conjunction of storing information. In fact, resting for a few minutes can improve memoryrecollection rather ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The article doesn t go into depth the details of the research, but I believe in a connection between relaxation and performance. In our world, people who are stressed with anxiety normally don t perform as well as people who don t feel tension. Moreover, the article talks about overstimulation of the brain and how that could cause memory problems. Regardless, I am not too worried about the abstraction of neurons, but I am more refined in seeing that there are experimental studies that proved the very relationship of rest and memory. For example, Michaela Deware, a principle investigator at the Heriot Watt University, led an experiment in 2012. Her team investigated the results between those who had a ten minute rest and those who didn t. Salary Inequality and Performance in Mlb Salary Inequality and Performance in MLB Introduction/Overview: This paper will explore the effect of team chemistry on performance in Major League Baseball (MLB). In the 2000s, the Yankees were a team of great individual talent, however, their lack of team unity was noticeable. In the playoffs, when heart, guts, and team chemistry matter greatly, the Yankees fell short and were easily eliminated each year. It wasn t until 2009, when the Yankees acquired jokester Nick Swisher, prankster AJ Burnett, and fun loving C.C. Sabathia that the chemistry of the team improved drastically. But the truth is that the brutalities of European settlement in Australia is kept under the pretext of Terra Nullius2 and a peaceful process which finds its apt expression through the Phantom comics where the white man s arrival and settlement on a non European space and building an empire is related in a way of cross cultural interaction, intimacy and hospitality. In colonial and post colonial British literature the phantom or ghost is a recurrent figure that symbolises the repressed trauma attendant to colonisation that haunts protagonists in novels such as Defoe s Robinson Crusoe and Brontes juvenilia. The famous comic strip The Phantom by Lee Falk naturalised this figure, making him into a normal man who fabricated a belief in his immortality. Referred to as The Ghost Who Walks, his headquarters was in a cave, which also contained his vast treasure. The Phantom ruled the natives of Africa and India, who superstitiously believed that he was a white god who had lived for centuries. • 14. The Worst Things Going On Today Americ The Education Gap... Cynthia Chambless, a lecturer professor at Bergen Community College, is discussing one of the worst things going on in Modern America: The Education Gap. As much as we like to believe that our current education system is the same everywhere and any student can succeed anywhere, unfortunately, the quality of educationdiffers from each district. Cynthia has found that many students have learned more and better than other students based on how high their social classis. In fact, students from poorer neighborhoods can t even write properly. This has led to students from poorer neighborhoods not being as prepared for collegeas students from more upper class neighborhoods. The further we ignore this issue, the more people are set back from getting their degree and accomplishing their goals. Students need the latest resources to be successful in college and in life. Thus, The Education Gap between the rich and the poor can be solved with more funding to community schools in poor neighborhoods by the government because low funding is the primal reason for students being so far behind compared to their higher social class peers. Eduardo Porter said, despite the efforts deployed by the American public education system, nine years later the achievement gap, on average, will have widened by somewhere from one half to two thirds. (Eduardo 2015). If we don t stop this issue, the system will only get worse. Meaning, more students will be behind and not getting the right education

The Church of Satan and the Church of Scientology are both new religious movements that share a fascination with the individual self in which they place a lot of attention on this concept. I believe the reasoning for such a focus on the self is because conventional religion never emphasizes it. With that being said, both L. Ron Hubbardand Anton Lavey went on to capitalize on this. They are two charismatic leaders, wanted followers and therefore they tapped into an area that was never discovered before. New religious movements tend to focus more on areas where their previous religion never touch on, or restricted people from thinking that. With that being said, these two leaders are suppose to add to people s lives and that they did, although one seemed to care more about people s money. That would be L.Ron Hubbard a former Navy officer who was twice relieved of duty for erratic behavior. This man is just difficult to get an understanding of his personality. While learning about L. Ron Hubbard it was clear that this man is just looking for money. With program after program and books being pushed on to members to buy, it looked like he started this religion because he needed a backup plan. It does not appear that the Church of Scientologyreally cares about its member s individual self . And it is the opposite of that with the Church of Satan with members are not given the runaround, they are told from the beginning to explore self for themselves only. I believe the

By knowing the relative date and origin of the ship, and if the pipes can be related to historical documents, there is potential to positively identify the ship and support the claim. Mediterranean and Ottoman style pipes are markedly different from their northern European counterparts, allowing for distinctions to be made between different pipe making traditions. Pipe smoking, concerning tobacco in particular, was popular within the Balkans, and evidence suggests that it may have been practiced as early as the end of the sixteenth century (Batchvarov 3). Conversely, it has also been argued the English introduced tobacco smoking at the start of the seventeenth century (Batchvarov 3). Stub stemmed or reed pipes were popular in this area, as the remains of many were found in harbors in the waters of Malta. This style of pipe is commonly found in association with inhabited areas and trade routes across the Ottoman Empire (Wood 315). Some people are good at cooking and some people aren t good at cooking, which benefits a lot of people because people can enjoy good food without having to deal with their lack of cooking skills. I definitely would not condemn a person who knows how to make a good steak, or even a good wine. If unnatural is used in this sense, then homosexuality can t be condemned. The fourth argument on if homosexuality is unnatural is based on how any use of an organ or an instrument that is different from its main use can be seen as unnatural. Every organ in the body and every tool or instrument is designed to do a certain task. Sometimes, if a tool is used in a certain way, that is different to its original use, it can be improper, and even harmful. Keys are used to unlock doors, unlock padlocks, and start cars, but some people use keys to cut through plastic containers. Keys are not designed for cutting, and if a person is not careful, that person can cut or stab him or herself in the process. Any other use of the sex organs, such as homosexual behavior, and even masturbation, can be seen as unnatural.

Data concerning psychological and behavioral conditions were collected through a series of surveys both before and after the completion of the study. The categories being assessed were comprised of mindfulness, empowerment, emotional regulation, hopefulness, and quality of life. First described academically during the 1950s by Harvard ethnobotanist Richard Schultes, ayahuasca is derived from the Brazilian Banisteriopsis caapi and Psychotria viridis. The resulting brew is highly concentrated with a compound known as dimethyltryptamine (DMT) which causes vivid, dream like hallucinations (3). DMT is found endogenously in many organisms, with small amounts present in the pineal gland of mice and perhaps that of humans. However, because of a family of enzymes in the liver known as monoamine oxidases, ingestion of DMT containing substances has no effect on humans as the compound is quickly broken down. It is for this reason that the ayahuasca brew must be made with the specific species of plants. By boiling the plants for several hours, alkaloids which act as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) are released. This inhibits the enzymes from breaking down the DMT and allows the substance to cross the blood brain barrier

In the short story by Ernest Hemingway, Hills Like White Elephants, a couple is delayed at a train station en route to Madrid and is observed in conflict over the girl s impending abortion. In his writing, Hemingway does not offer any commentary through a specific character s point of view, nor, in the storytelling, does he offer his explicit opinions on how to feel or think about the issues that emerge. The narrative seems to be purely objective, somewhat like a newspaper or journal article, and in true Hemingway form the story ends abruptly, without the couple s conflict clearly being resolved. Jack wanted to be above everybody, so he tried to convince everyone to let him be chief. He wanted to have power and authority. We ll hunt. I m going to be chief. The forces of destruction begin with toddlers a price for the best Halloween costume, grades in school, gold stars, and on up through the university. On the job, people, teams, divisions are ranked reward for one at the top, punishing at the bottom. MBO, quotas, incentive pay, business plans ...

This is what the Department of Homeland Security (D.H.S) is doing to you because of an act that passed 45 days after the 9/11 attack. The Congress had to rush the act since they fear more attacks will happen, and was quickly passed without votes. In fact, homeland security is against our civil liberties (personal freedom). My partner and I believe that homeland security in the United Statesshould be controlled by the government because it is against a lot of amendments in the Constitution, and popular sovereignty (citizen s power). On the other hand, my opponents might say homeland security sacrifices privacy for better protection and safety, but in my opinion it is cheating to go through records without any permission by a guardian or the court. In the United Kingdom, the government has a law called Do not spy on us which is using the parliament to stop power on spying citizen s records, this is a great example to the U.S . It also recommend to have a secure internet for the U.K and to have transparent laws not secret laws. Also, my opponent might say homeland security is preventing acts of terrorism and improving their protection since the 9/11 attacks, but in my opinion, the D.H.S and other police departments are removing privacy from other citizens, many traffic ... According to Los Angeles Times in 2009, the U.S.A Patriot Act, which is part of homeland security, allows the F.B.I to search records without warrants which breaks citizens right for privacy, the amendment that broke is the 4th amendment which is searches and seizures. From the Washington Blog in September 23rd, 2013, they stated the government is spying on us through our computers, phones, cars, buses, and the streets, also the security departments use scanners and drones to spy on us everywhere in airports as

The agency problem in any corporation is between the management and the shareholders. And the problem arises because of lack of control of shareholders on the management and the possibility of the managementcheating the shareholders. The possible solution to this problem is either providing the management with incentive or strengthening the position of shareholders to tackle the problem on their own. But then the question arises who provides the management with the incentives and how the shareholders are strengthened. Thus the board can be seen as a bridge or a medium, as suggested by literature, between... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another evidence that the board has become stricter is increase in the probabilities of CEO dismissal. The board not only controls what the management does but also the process of hiring and compensating the top executives. The question that arises here is whether the board steps forward and acquires the costly signal about competency of the CEO or not? On the other hand, how does the CEO influences the board and gains control it, how well does the CEO market her capabilities in order to bargain for less independent board? The question that arises here is that if board controls the dismissal of CEO then why are directors reluctant to object to CEO s decisions which are not in favor of the shareholders, why doesn t the board remove the CEO when her performance is poor? Why do the board directors are happy to always act as yes man instead of acting as a troublemaker or a strict monitor . Mace (1986) shows that directors remain steadfastly loyal to misguided CEOs. Jensen (1993, pp. 862 3) observes in his Presidential Address to the American Finance Association: The problems with corporate internal control systems start with the board of directors. The board, at the apex of the internal control system, has the final responsibility for the functioning of the firm. Most importantly, it sets the rules of the game for the CEO. The job of the board is to hire, fire,
