Computer Network And The World Wide Web System
Introduction
The past thirty years have seen increasingly rapid advances in the field of Database. Moreover the
amount of data being stored in electronic format has been increased dramatically. This increased gives
rise to increase accumulation of data at a very quick rate. In addition, the volume of information in the
world has been projected to doubles every two years. For example, the health care database system or
financial database system is worth instances for the types of data that are being collected and
increased dramatically. In fact we are living in a world where vast amounts of data are collected daily
and we cannot stop our live to interact with data because we are actually living in an age of the data.
There are Terabytes or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These necessities have prompted the conception of Data Mining that has been changing the live from
the data age toward the coming information age. A considerable amount of literature has been
published on Data Mining and the aim of this survey is concerned with the ideas behind the processes;
purpose and techniques of Data Mining. [1][2]
1. What is Data mining In every day live, the word Mining refer to the process that discovered a small
set of valuable pieces from a great deal of raw material as in mining process of gold from rocks or
sand. According to [3] Data Mining, or Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) as it is also known,
is the process of extraction of implicit information that previously unknown and potentially useful
from database. By using a number of different technical, such as clustering, data summarization,
learning classification, finding dependency networks, analyzing changes, and detecting anomalies.
Data Mining refers to a variety of techniques that can be used to analyses and observes database in
order to find relationships or summarize the data in ways that can be put to use in different areas such
as decision making, prediction and estimation and to do that there are a sequence of the process [2] .

Lean On Lean Software Development
Lean Summary Lean Software Development (LSD) is an implementation of Lean Principles in
software development. In sum, every action that does not produce value is considered waste (muda)
(Liker, 2005). The goal is to create a system (software development or otherwise) that is waste free.
Several Agile techniques can be used to achieve this in software development, making LSD and Agile
similar at first glance (Austad, 2011) . Origin/History It is important to note the history of Lean and
the history of Lean Software development (LSD) are two different histories. Lean and LSD are related
but their histories are different. This history will focus on LSD. The term lean software development
originated in a book written by Mary Poppendieck and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Empower the Team In a traditional work environment, decisions are made from the top down. In a
LSD, it works in reverse of that. The lean approach favors the aphorism find good people and let them
do their own job, encouraging progress, catching errors, and removing impediments, but not micro
managing (Liker, 2005). Defer Commitment By deferring critical/irreversible, you keep your options
open for as long as possible (Liker, 2005). Pros/Cons Pros o Delivering the product early means that
the development team can deliver more functionality in a shorter period of time, hence enabling more
projects to be delivered. o Empowerment of the development team helps in developing the decision
making ability of the team members which in turn creates more motivation among team members (
Top 12 Software Development Methodologies And Its Advantages/Disadvantages , 2014). Cons o
Lean does not do very well in small dev teams where the projects are small and unpredictable (job
shop and/or lots of support). o The project sponsors and clients need to know what they want and
make decisions they will stick to. In lean software development these decisions can be made later. But
the problem is that project sponsors tend to be paralyzed by fear when it comes to making the tough
decisions. And in lean the whole objective of using this over say agile methodology is to enable your
development to be done faster and

Computers And Other Types Of Electronics
For ages the question has been debated, to what do humans owe our thinking abilities and can
computers and other types of electronics have the capacity to think? Over millions of years humans
have developed the capacity to think critically and to have higher intelligent thinking than other
animals. The human brain has evolved to have a prefrontal cortex which is responsible for executive
functioning. These functions include responding to complex problems, maintaining a set behavior,
planning, problem solving, judging a situation, and making good, intellectual choices. With
developments such as these higher functions, humans have the ability to fully comprehend situations
with their minds, and can act at their own free will to make choices, unlike computers. Computers
must be acted upon in order to think or to search for an answer. Computers are an invention created by
man. They must be programmed to something, they do not exist or act without the assistance of man.
Since computers are not able to think on their own and must be programmed by man, a computer
should not be considered to know how to think. Thinking is complex in that it requires you to ponder a
choice and for you to comprehend and analyze it to make a final decision. To think is to contemplate
various scenarios and situations and reason. In order to think you must have an initial thought or idea
that was triggered by some type of stimuli. To contemplate such stimuli you would need a mind or

##torical Analysis Of Maya Angelou s The Fight She Fought
The Fight She Fought Ariel Worrell Wilkes Community College The Fight She Fought Maya Angelou
s speech (August 31, 2008) at Coretta Scott King s funeral was very successful. She drivingly outlined
the issues that Coretta Scott King fought for throughout her life, Angelou did so in a way that allowed
those listening to feel connected to King. Angelou makes it clear that King s life was one of great
importance. She delivered the information in a relevant and important way. Her use of relevancy,
audience connections, and humor allowed her to deliver the eulogy meaningfully. Audience
Connection is essential when delivering a speech, Angelou mastered the technique as seen in this
speech. Angelou (2008) opens the Eulogy with a popular hymnal, I open my mouth to the Lord and I
won t turn back, no. I will go, I shall go. I ll see what the end is gonna be. . This allowed her to make a
connection with the audience. Many people knew this hymnal; therefore, they felt as if she is one of
them. Angelou (2008) went on to say Those of us who gather here, principalities, presidents, senators,
those of us who run great companies, who know something about being parents, who know something
about being preachers and teachers those of us.. . Those of us referred to everyone in the audience,
Angelou (2008) was including everyone and in doing so she was making an audience connection.
Angelou (2008) then said we owe something from this minute on; so that this gathering is not just
another footnote on the pages of history. We owe something. . No one wants to believe that their
actions will be forgotten. By this point in the speech Angelou had already made an audience
connection and by doing so has allowed for a call to action. This call to action is a very important part
of the speech because it developed relevancy in a way that was consequential. One tool that Angelou
used while giving the eulogy was relevancy. Following the hymnal, Angelou (2008) begins by saying
In the midst of national tumult, in the medium of international violent uproar.. Violent uproar is all
around, which makes this quote from the speech incredibly relevant. The entire Eulogy by

Psychological Characters In Angela Duckworth s Grit
One may wonder, what indeed makes one successful and what has an effect on our psychological
traits? Angela Duckworth, in her non fiction book Grit, attempts to answer this question by making the
claim that grit, talent, and all other psychological traits relevant to success in life are influenced by
genes and also by experience .(82). Duckworth supports her claim through the use of anecdotal stories
and researchreferencing studies conducted by researchers. One example Duckworth uses includes the
Flynn Effect, (83) attributed to Jim Flynn. He analyzed IQ scores and its rapid growth through the
decades to explain how it is socially multiplied. In general, Duckworth attempts to convince the
audience that the characteristics making up a person come from one s genes as well as personal
experiences. I am in agreement with Duckworth s claim, because I have found multiple sources of
evidence that supports it. Also, her claim is the only logical explanation for our developing
psychological traits and its effect towards success. First we must explore the Flynn Effect and what it
means to us as a society.
People as a whole advance over time because of the world around us and the The Flynn effect is a
sound example of that. I believe in this Flynn Effect because Jim Flynn makes logical sense out of the
rapidly increasing IQ scores. Duckworth introduces the the Flynn Effect in Grit (83), named after Jim
Flynn referring to exponentially increasing IQ scores over the past century.

What Is Accidental Death Of An Anarchist
Accidental Death of an anarchist as a political satire. This play can be acknowledged as a hilarious
satire on police corruption in Italy. This play tells us about the case of an anarchist railway worker
known as madman who supposedly fell to his death from a Police Headquarter white his interrogation
in 1969. Fo himself described the play as a farce, Don t call my play a comedy. There is a
misunderstanding of the word. I call it a farce. In current language, farce is understood as vulgar,
trivial, facile, and very simple. What is provocative and rebellious is farce. The establishment goes for
comedy, the people go for farce. (1984) This play was based on real events. In 1969 an anarchist
railway man, Guiseppe Pinelli was arrested after a bomb went off in Agricultural Bank in Milan
killing 17 people and wounding at least a hundred. Pinelli was known to be a pacifist, opposed to
individual acts of violence. His interrogation went on for four days after which, according to the
public statement made by Italian police, Pinneli jumped out of the window to his death from fourth

Class Conflict In The Roman Government
What relationship did class conflict have with the emergence of more popular forms of government
(e.g. democracy in Greece, and republicanism in Rome) in the classical period? Did class conflict also
affect the collapse of these government forms?
The Roman Empire also known as the Byzantine Empire, was on of the wealthiest and most fluent
civilizations in history. The structure of the class system throughout Roman history changed gradually
in a way that also changed the form and structure of the government. The government over the time of
the start, flourishment of end of this civilization ranged from a monarchy to a republic and eventually
to an empire. While the structure of class lead to the downfall of a monarchy and uprising of a
republic; the class system also led to the downfall of the republic as well. Also, Ancient greece, from
where we have the class conflict would change the way in which the government would function.
While Greece was home to two major city states one being Sparta, who did not support democracy,
and Athens, who did support democracy. The conflict of class in both civilizations led to both the
uprising of different and popular government as well as the down fall. ... Show more content on

During the time of the republic the Patricians were considered nobility even if the Plebeians were

FUNKY SUNGLASSES the accessory that s always been practical and fashionable
The earliest historical reference to sunglasses dates back to ancient China and Rome. The Roman
emperor Nero watched gladiator fights through polished gems. In China, sunglasses were used in the
12th century or possibly earlier. These sunglasses were made out of lenses that were flat panes of
smoky quartz. They offered no corrective powers nor did they protect from harmful UV rays, but did
protect the eyes from glare.
In prehistoric and historic time, members of various Eskimoan peoples wore flattened walrus ivory
glasses, looking through narrow slits to block harmful reflected rays of the sun.
Modern civilization began experimenting with tinted lenses in spectacles around 1752. There was
belief that blue or green tinted glass could potentially correct specific vision impairments. Protection
from the sun s rays was not a concern at this time. Glasses tinted with yellow amber and brown were
also a commonly prescribed item for people with syphilis in the 19th and early 20th century because
one of the symptoms of the disease was sensitivity to light.
In the early 1900s sunglasses became more widespread, especially among movie stars. Famous
actresses used shades to avoid recognition by fans and paparazzi, but also because they often had red

Analysis Of One Art By Elizabeth Bishop
One Art Poetry Analysis
One art is poem written by Elizabeth Bishop discussing loss and the role it plays in the world. The
poem conveys a powerful message subtly hidden in the speaker s use of connotation and denotation.
In addition to the multiple connotations of loss in the poem, repetition and sound coupled together add
meaning overall to the poem. The form of the poem contributes to the uses of repetition and
connotation to emphasize the ease of loss.
In the poem as seen throughout much of it the speaker uses sound and repetition heavily through the
length of the poem. The poem itself is a mirror into the author, Elizabeth Bishop s, life and losses she s
collected throughout her lifetime. Upon research into Bishop the poem can easily be seen as a
autobiographical piece. In the poem the speaker confesses to losing two cities, lovely ones Bishop lost
her husband to suicide some years prior to having written the poem. Many of the losses described in
the poem are personal anecdotes straight from Bishops life. The poem casually denotes the losses
experienced in Bishops life creating a casual and ironic tone throughout the length of the poem.
Specifically the poem is a villanelle, a 19 line poem with two rhymes throughput the poem consisting
of five tercets and a quatrain. In One Art the repeating lines are The art of losing isn t hard to master
and Disaster , the end of every stanza in the poem the stanza ends with either of the two. In every the

Student Teacher Relationships And Student Academic Growth...
In recent years a discussion regarding education has increasingly emphasized teachers role in
promoting student academic growth through personalism. Phillippo explains personalism as, policies
that ask teachers to develop individual relationship with students at a presumed level for student
achievement (2012, p. 441). Urban school districts have promoted these policies by converting larges
schools into smaller schools. Research on student teacher relationships generally supports policies of
personalism (Phillippo, 2012, p. 441). Students who have a professional relationship with their
teachers tend to be more successful in school. This challenges us to consider how teachers practices
directly influence what and how students learn, and what can be done to support teachers
contributions.
Summary of The Study Phillippo conducted this qualitative research study over a time span of a year
and thirty four months. She wanted to investigate how students from non dominant groups responded
to teacher personalism. Data shows that policies of personalism do promote student teacher
relationships, however; tension arose when the participants felt that teacher personalism was
threatening their privacy or agency (Phillippo, 2012, p. 441). Culture and social experiences
contributed to the way students perceived personalism and it constrained the participants trust toward
their teachers.

Rock And Roll Influence On Youth Culture
The discussion here will be of the invention of rock n roll and how did it emerge from the new
working class youth culture. Styles of this are said to be fused from black and white popular music.
All Genres have been studied for years but for rock itself was hard to get an agenda to just focus on
this as for some didn t considered if rock as form of music was as worthy to study than others.
The body of my essay will discuss the history of rock n roll and the popular youth cultures in the last
century and how their choice of music was developed.
No matter the genre, music in itself gives a person a sense of security. This is obvious at a young age,
where a child will keep themselves contempt and relaxed by singing to themselves and control their
emotions, where an adult doing their housework will sing to themselves to give freedom and soul.
This is shown through this essay that the youth culture brought other genre into their popular music to
explore more rhythm.
When you see Elvis Presley singing songs early in his career I think you [should] imagine, he is
channeling Rosetta Tharpe. It s not an image that I think we re used to thinking of in rock and roll
history. We don t think about the black woman behind the young white man.

Factors That Affect The And Bettering Ceramic Membrane...
In 1899 ionic conductivity was observed in a solution of ZrO2(Y2O3) however the potential for use in
oxygen separation technology has only gained attention in the last 35 years. The best oxygen
separation capabilities are seen in defect free ceramic membranes and result in 100% pure oxygen.
There are a number of different structures that ceramic membranes can take fluorite, perovskite,
pyrochlore, brownmillerite and some others. The main two are the fluorite and perovskite type, which
will be discussed in further detail later in this report. Oxygen flux is the rate the oxygen transfers
though the membrane and a higher oxygen flux means a better membrane. Generally a dense ceramic
membrane with a perovskite structure at temperatures greater ... Show more content on

How this is achieved depends on the types of oxygen separation membrane. A driving force is required
for there to be any oxygen transfer though the membrane, the two potential driving forces are a
electrical potential gradient or a chemical potential gradient. The pure oxygen conducting membrane
uses a electrical potential gradient, for this electrodes are used to provide a pathway for the electron
transfer as shown in figure Xa and the extent of oxygen transfer can be manipulated by the supply of
an electric current. Where as in mixed ionic electronic conducting membranes a chemical potential
gradient, no electrodes are required for this and instead a pressure differential on either side of the
membrane is necessary and the membrane can be of single phase or duel phase as shown in figure Xb.
Although it is ideal to have membranes free of any defects, defect free materials are very rare if not
impossible to manufacture. There are two categories defects can fall into, either an electronic defect or
a structural defect. The electric defects are associated with the ionization and formation of electrons to
maintain electric neutrality. Structural defects are associated with the crystalline structure of the
membrane and can be classed into three categories; point defects, line defects and plane defects.
Defects can form externally though contact with the environment or within though the consequence of
impurities. Expand if I find

A Comparison Of The Taj Mahal And Palace Of Versailles
Ever since man began building structures and settling land, art has manifested itself in our
architectural creations. Whether it be to celebrate or worship a God or Gods, a grand sculpture to bury
a powerful leader or remember them by, or to show a culture s dedication to specific values, our
architectural constructions have led to some of the finest art this Earth has ever seen. The Taj Mahal
and Palace of Versailles are two great examples of such art. By examining each of these individually,
and then comparing and contrasting them, it will become clear that no matter how different looking
these buildings may be, they still serve the same purpose to the civilizations that erected them. The
first piece of architectural art to look at is the Taj Mahal. It was constructed as a mausoleum for the
wife of Shah Jahan s favorite wife after her death following complications of childbirth (Kapadia,
n.d.). It became so famous that its design was even replicated as a casino in Atlantic City, although
that became a mausoleum for the cash of its investors. When someone looks at the Taj Mahal for the
first time, the thing that stands out the most is the use of white marble in its construction. Almost
everything in the Taj Mahal was created with white marble. Next to be noticed would be both the
domes and minarets that make up the monument. These are key tenets of the Mughal style that was
used in building it. So too is the calligraphy that adorns almost all of the gateways and

There are three different types of muscle; skeletal, cardiac and smooth.
Skeletal muscle consists of long cylindrical cells which, under a microscope, appear to be striated with
bands throughout length of the cell. The nuclei of the multinucleated cells, located along the plasma
membrane, lie along the periphery of the cell, thus forming swellings which are visible through the
sarcolemma. The plasma membrane of the muscle cell, also known as sarcolemma, is densely
invaginated by transverse tubules that saturate the cell. The cytoplasm, or sarcoplasm of the muscle
cell, contains a calcium storing sarcoplasmic reticulum, which is the specialised endoplasmic

Physicalism Vs Knowledge Argument
The first half of this course has focused on many different philosophical theories that deal with the
mind body problem. One of the most interesting of these theories is physicalism, which is the belief
that everything in this world is physical or that all facts are physical facts. There are many arguments
against physicalism, but one of the most well known and most successful arguments is the knowledge
argument. The knowledge argument illustrates that physicalism is false. The knowledge argument was
created by Frank Jackson and he explained this argument in his paper, What Mary Didn t Know. This
paper introduces the reader to a thought experiment that focuses on Mary, a scientist, who is locked
inside of a black and white ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jackson specifically disagrees with premise one as the point of the knowledge argument is that Mary
does not know everything there is to know about brain states and their properties as she does not know
about the experience associated with them. Jackson correctly condenses the knowledge argument in
his response by stating that Mary, before her release, knows everything physical about other people.
Mary, before her release, does not know everything about other people because she learns something
new about them after she is released. Therefore, there are truths about others, and herself, that the
physicalist story leaves out. Churchland s first argument focuses on the idea that the two types of
knowledge are different and the first one can be considered knowledge by description and the second
kind of knowledge as knowledge by acquaintance. Some people, such as David Lewis and Laurence
Nemirow, expand on Churchland s argument, which leads to a second, stronger opposition to the
knowledge argument that considers the mode of presentation. Lewis and Nemirow criticize premise
two and state that on Mary s release, she does not learn something new or acquire knowledge in the
relevant sense. When she is released, Mary acquires a certain representational or imaginative ability,
meaning Mary acquires abilities, or knowledge how, as opposed to learning truths, or

The opossum, Didelphis virginiana, takes its name from two different languages. The name Didelphis

The females are in heat for approximately thirty days, and the mating session lasts no longer than
thirty six hours (Davis 2). The males forked penis delivers spermatozoa to the, females, paired uteri
(Merritt 36). Gestation lasts for an average of twelve days, and produces up to fourteen young (Yahner
12). The young emerge blind, hairless, and pink weighing approximately one tenth of a gram, and
measure around thirteen millimeters (Merritt 36).
The just born opossums crawl up into the pouch of their mother, with no assistance, and attach to one
of her thirteen nipples (Davis 2). The nipples then enlarge to form a bulb in the mouth of the young.
They will remain attached to the nipple for approximately two months (Merritt 37). However, the
young will remain in the pouch for seventy to eighty days. After which they will climb out, and onto
the mothers back. While on the mothers back the young will begin to eat solid foods. They will remain
there until they are one hundred days old, when they leave their mother to become independent (The
Georgia).
The next topic for discussion in this paper is ecology. This will include, in order of discussion:
distribution and habitats; food sources; predators and parasites; and lastly, behavior and habits.

Analyzing Abortion Essay
Analyzing Abortion In 1973, Roe versus Wade instigated an ongoing debate in the United States
concerning the implementation of abortion (Rubin 1). Prior to Roe, abortion was illegal, however it
was practiced. In 1846, a few blocks south of Manhattan s Greenwich Village, Madame Restell
performed illegal abortions to cure female irregularities, or pregnancies (Rubin 1). After Restell, a
group called Jane , also known as the Abortion Counseling Service of the Chicago Women s
Liberation Union, performed more than 11,000 illegal abortions from 1969 73 in Chicago alone (Horst
1). Though the Court decision lawfully settled the argument, the abortion issue developed further
creating a substantial amount of turmoil between the opposing ... Show more content on

As of 1997, 49 countries, including many industrialized European countries, have abortion legislations
similar to the United States (Henshaw et al. 58).
The abortion debate is controversial because it predominantly centers on society s religious and moral
beliefs. Religion is the leading variable of individuals opposing legalized abortion in the United States
(Kelley). Furthermore, Kristin Luker believes that the moral positions of activists on both sides of the
abortion issue reflect their individual worldviews on sexuality, family life, technology and the
importance of the individual; however, the pro choice and pro life movements are not effective in
changing people s moral beliefs on abortion (Luker). The key issue our candidate must address is the
federal government s participation in funding state sponsored sex education programs and greater
coverage of abortion costs.
The public s stance on abortion has remained relatively stable since the Roe decision. Fifty six percent
of the general public feels that abortion should be legal in certain circumstances such as rape, incest or
health complications. Overall, pro life advocates views on abortion tend to be congruent across the
board. Ninety eight percent of abortion opponents feel it is morally wrong in all circumstances (Scott).
However, the pro choice movement is more fragmented in its opinions. Twenty seven percent of pro
choice people support abortion even though they believe it is morally

The Pros And Cons Of Lobbying And Arguments
Through careful analysis of lobbying regulations, the effects will be analyzed on its positive affects on
people, and how it negatively affects. Through the examination of past bills passed in government that
were influenced by lobbying, the pros and cons may be examined. Research from academic journals
has been compiled. It will show that without a proper regulatory entity, lobbying is dangerous to
american citizens. The sum of money a company puts into lobbying, and which companies use
lobbying will also be inspected. If it is just private companies, or rather public companies also.
Therefore in order for lobbying to be successful it must be devoid of all personal influence, and
propose policy that benefits all American citizens. Lobbying is an extremely controversial topic in
American politics. Some citizens believe it is right for a company, and only helps the economy. On the
other hand, citizens say that lobbying opens the door for corruption. However, in order to fully
understand the pros and cons of lobbying first the basic definition of lobbying must be understood.
The word lobby is defined ethical infringements by politicians and lobbyists. One of the most eminent
ethical issues was gift giving. Lobbyists in order to influence a politician many ... Show more content

The majority of lobbying laws are state laws. The severity of lobbying regulation varies between
states. Some states require written disclosure of meetings with politicians, while others do not even
require the disclosure of gifts. However, although state laws may vary, the majority all came into
being after a lobbying scandal. In midst of a scandal legislators feel pressure to address the issue.
Therefore regulations are usually introduced in the wake of a scandal. Media coverage is a large
component also. If the scandal gains national coverage that raises the pressure on politicians to pass

Compare And Contrast Galileo And Paine
Language has been an important part of an individual s life in order to communicate and understand
one another. However, Bacon, Galileo and Paine believe that language beyond the means of
communication can hinder our own understanding as sometimes can be. Language has fooled the
human mind to understanding the world without the idea of reasoning and rational thinking. In Bacon
s Novum Organum, especially in the Idols of the Market, he talks about how language can create
confusion rather than understanding through the random use of words. Nothing only does words create
confusion but lead mankind into vain and innumerable controversies and fallacies (34). Man is unable
to form specific words because of the lack of attention to nature and the usage of words that is difficult
to define in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He points out in his Letter to Christina of Tuscany that words differ by the context of their meaning
especially in the written Scriptures in order to accommodate every population. He argues that words
do not mean what they are out to be and which appear to differ from the absolute truth so far as the
bare meaning of the words is concerned (18). Galileo argues that some of the biblical passages should
not be taken literally because some have different meaning beneath their words. Lastly, Paine claims
in his writing of The Age of Reason, God s message cannot be in language due to its incapable of
interpretation in different languages which prevent others to understand what the Bible ought to say.
This is all done by a revelation which presents a problem on what the word truly means as something
communicated immediately from God to man (162). This inhibits understanding because not
everything is given through first hand experience but rather hearsay from others. Language rather than
giving providing clear understanding, unfortunately brings confusion that leads to fallacies and

The Right To Vote (NARA)
The 15th Amendment of the United States Constitution was passed by Congress on February 26, 1869,
and was ratified February 3, 1870. The Amendment is label as the Right to Vote , however, there is
deeper provision to this Amendment. Section 1, reads The right of citizens of the United States to vote
shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any States on account of race, color, or
previous condition of servitude (NARA). Continued with section 2, The Congress shall have the
power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation (NARA). The amendment was created to
protect the rights of African American to vote, and has served as the groundwork for the Voting Rights
Act of 1965. One day after the ratification, Thomas Mundy Peterson of New Jersey became the
African American citizern to vote under the authority of the 15th Amendment (History.com).
Additionally, in the same year the first ever African American from Mississippi was elected to the U.S
Senate. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This amendment was circumvented and was snubbed for almost a century. History demonstrates
without support and power that constitutional rights were just words on paper, without support, these
rights were hard to enforce. In 1890, Southern states passed array of legislation and laws that made it
difficult for African Americans along with poor white people to vote. These laws required people to
meet literacy standards and prove they were lawful abiding citizens. Furthermore, a tax payment was
required before they were allowed to

Problems Of The And Boundary Work
Problems of Demarcation and Boundary Work
One of the fundamental areas of study concerning professionals, including lawyers and scientists, is
that of professional boundaries (Lamont Molnar). Where are the bounds of the profession? Who is
included and who is excluded from the profession? One of the driving questions for scholars of
science has been the demarcation problem, that is determining what is and is not included in science
(Gieryn 1983). Historically, the social studies of science has divided between internal and external
approaches, which studied the construction of science from inside and outside the professional
boundaries of science respectively (Kuhn 1977). Thus externalism internalism debates in the history
and sociology of science formed the central dividing line of the field until late last century (Shapin
1992). However, a contemporary consensus has emerged in science studies that the demarcation
problem is essentially irrelevant to the study of science. The demarcation problem has been called a
pseudo problem by those who argue that philosophically there is no reason to believe that it is possible
to define necessary and sufficient conditions to separate the scientific from the non scientific. (Laudin
1983) Gieryn proposed that instead of considering demarcation as a conceptual problem, the bounds
of science should be reinterpreted as a practical problem faced by scientists who have a professional
need to distinguish their work from other intellectual

Comparing The Australian Economy And The Chinese Economy
Economic development refers to the sustained actions of communities, federal, state, and local
governments that improve our standard of living through the creation of jobs, new technologies,
economic health, and the creation of an overall better quality of life. The comparison between the
Australian economy and the Chinese economy provide a detailed and comprehensive view of both
nations. China is of political, cultural and economic strategic importance to Australia. Economic
growth, employment/unemployment, environmental sustainability, the role of government (in health
care, education and welfare), and quality of life determine the economic development of a nation.
Australia and China s economic growth vary in terms of different increases in their gross domestic
product, or GDP, which is measured in US dollars. Economic growth refers to a change in a nation s
output of goods and services over a period of time which is reflected by gross domestic product.
During periods of economic boom, GDP is generally high. Similarly, during periods of recession, GDP
is generally low. Australia is a mixed market economy, where the government plays a major role in
providing collective goods and services while the private sector makes most of the economic
decisions. Income is determined by the market but the government controls some private sector
behaviour, minimum wage requirements, redistribution of income and other related economic
activities. China, on the other hand, is a centrally

We have all sufficiently observed TV appears and Hollywood motion pictures to realize that for a few

Previously, home theaters were truly little universe with circular segment light houses and theater

Consequentialism Vs Deontological Analysis
To analyze the dilemma one must understand how a consequentialist and a deontological would come
to their conclusions. A basic difference is the consequentialist would believe the end justifies the
means. A deontologist would conclude that irrespective of outcomes, the method or means should
conform to a stricture or rule set.
The consequentialist is focused on the consequences of the action. If the end result provides more
good than bad, they would conclude the action justifies the end result. To make a conclusion the
consequentialist would ask; who will be affected by the action, who would benefit from performing
the action, who would be harmed by performing the action, who would benefit from not performing
the action, who would be harmed by not performing the action. The consequentialist would then make
a decision based on were the most good would be derived. One of the most well known practices of
the consequentialist theory is Utilitarianism which is focused the the better good for society. ... Show

If the action itself is deemed inappropriate, then the action should not be performed regardless of how
beneficial the outcome would be. To determine if an action should be taken or not, a deontological
minded person would compare the performance of the action to a set of internal or external rule sets,
asking if others with this rule set would find the decision acceptable or not. If it is determined that
most with a similar rule set would find the action unacceptable then the action would not be taken
regardless of the benefits of the outcome. Kantianism is a well known deontological theory, where it is

National Action Party Research Paper
The National Action Party (PAN) has been connected as a conservatism in Mexican politics since the
beginning, even though the party does not consider itself a conservative party. This party unites and
stands for Catholics and capitalists in Mexico, free market, conservative on social issues, and
supportive to foreign interests. Mexicans long have expressed a much more favorable opinion of civil
society in general than of specific governmental institutions, indicating a much higher level of trust in
societal responses to problems . (Camp 1993.Pg. 66) The trust in the people is an important measure
of the potential for democratic political institutions. It currently occupies Mexico s political spectrum

Cinematography Research Paper
The Importance of Cinematography
Without studying the details of film, one may ask what is cinematography. Cinematography is the art
of making motion pictures. There are many features that go on in making a film. A cinematographer
has a big role in making the film come together with certain camera movements and lighting elements.
Cinematography is one of the most important aspects of film. People should be more interested in
cinematography because there are so many intricate details that go into making a film special and that
is because of and camera angles and movements, color, and different types of shots.

Some of these shots include, extreme close up (ECU), medium shot (MS), establishing shot (ES), and

Medium shot, also known as waist shot, is also what it sounds like. It is a shot from a medium distance
and includes the body from the knees or waist up. An establishing shot may be one that people aren t
as familiar with. An establishing shot is a usually long shot in film or video used at the beginning of a
sequence to establish an overview of the scene that follows (Merriam Webster). One other shot a
cinematographer should consider using is a long shot. A LS is a shot from a great distance, which
makes people seem to appear more like shapes then people. This type of shot is used to emphasize the

The Issue Of Immigration In America
The issue of immigration in America has caused a major controversial uproar, such as whether or not
immigrants have the right to become legal citizens of America and participate in what most citizens
take advantage of, like voting and have a driver s license. Some Americans believe that no one should
be allowed to come to America to live because of the fear of minorities trying to take over. While
others believe there is nothing wrong with the idea, and that should be given the right to become a
citizen of America. Issitt (2016) said, Immigration refers to the movement of persons from one nation
or region to another with the purpose of seeking permanent residence. According to this view
immigrants deserve rights as a citizen if the desire ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Obama sees there is an issue with immigration policy and wants to change it. In his words from the
November 2014 speech: Today, our immigration system is broken, and everybody knows it. Families
who enter our country the right way and play by the rules watch others flout the rules. Business
owners who offer their workers good wages benefits see the competition exploit undocumented
immigrants by paying them far less. All of us take offense to anyone who reaps the rewards of living
in America without taking on the responsibilities of living in America. And undocumented immigrants
who desperately want to embrace those responsibilities see little option but to remain in the shadows,
or risk their families being torn apart (Keeling, 2014). The given idea for an immigration reform plan
had as one of its goals to be supported by both democratic parties and republican parties and included
six prospects designed to have a win win situation for both the government and immigrants that are
desiring to come to America. Things like changing border laws, preventing visa overstays and
preventing people from working without a permit and programs helping immigrants adjust to life in
the United States (Vinik 2014). These laws are not always considerate of immigrants needs. If an

  • 4. Lean On Lean Software Development Lean Summary Lean Software Development (LSD) is an implementation of Lean Principles in software development. In sum, every action that does not produce value is considered waste (muda) (Liker, 2005). The goal is to create a system (software development or otherwise) that is waste free. Several Agile techniques can be used to achieve this in software development, making LSD and Agile similar at first glance (Austad, 2011) . Origin/History It is important to note the history of Lean and the history of Lean Software development (LSD) are two different histories. Lean and LSD are related but their histories are different. This history will focus on LSD. The term lean software development originated in a book written by Mary Poppendieck and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Empower the Team In a traditional work environment, decisions are made from the top down. In a LSD, it works in reverse of that. The lean approach favors the aphorism find good people and let them do their own job, encouraging progress, catching errors, and removing impediments, but not micro managing (Liker, 2005). Defer Commitment By deferring critical/irreversible, you keep your options open for as long as possible (Liker, 2005). Pros/Cons Pros o Delivering the product early means that the development team can deliver more functionality in a shorter period of time, hence enabling more projects to be delivered. o Empowerment of the development team helps in developing the decision making ability of the team members which in turn creates more motivation among team members ( Top 12 Software Development Methodologies And Its Advantages/Disadvantages , 2014). Cons o Lean does not do very well in small dev teams where the projects are small and unpredictable (job shop and/or lots of support). o The project sponsors and clients need to know what they want and make decisions they will stick to. In lean software development these decisions can be made later. But the problem is that project sponsors tend to be paralyzed by fear when it comes to making the tough decisions. And in lean the whole objective of using this over say agile methodology is to enable your development to be done faster and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Computers And Other Types Of Electronics For ages the question has been debated, to what do humans owe our thinking abilities and can computers and other types of electronics have the capacity to think? Over millions of years humans have developed the capacity to think critically and to have higher intelligent thinking than other animals. The human brain has evolved to have a prefrontal cortex which is responsible for executive functioning. These functions include responding to complex problems, maintaining a set behavior, planning, problem solving, judging a situation, and making good, intellectual choices. With developments such as these higher functions, humans have the ability to fully comprehend situations with their minds, and can act at their own free will to make choices, unlike computers. Computers must be acted upon in order to think or to search for an answer. Computers are an invention created by man. They must be programmed to something, they do not exist or act without the assistance of man. Since computers are not able to think on their own and must be programmed by man, a computer should not be considered to know how to think. Thinking is complex in that it requires you to ponder a choice and for you to comprehend and analyze it to make a final decision. To think is to contemplate various scenarios and situations and reason. In order to think you must have an initial thought or idea that was triggered by some type of stimuli. To contemplate such stimuli you would need a mind or something to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. ##torical Analysis Of Maya Angelou s The Fight She Fought The Fight She Fought Ariel Worrell Wilkes Community College The Fight She Fought Maya Angelou s speech (August 31, 2008) at Coretta Scott King s funeral was very successful. She drivingly outlined the issues that Coretta Scott King fought for throughout her life, Angelou did so in a way that allowed those listening to feel connected to King. Angelou makes it clear that King s life was one of great importance. She delivered the information in a relevant and important way. Her use of relevancy, audience connections, and humor allowed her to deliver the eulogy meaningfully. Audience Connection is essential when delivering a speech, Angelou mastered the technique as seen in this speech. Angelou (2008) opens the Eulogy with a popular hymnal, I open my mouth to the Lord and I won t turn back, no. I will go, I shall go. I ll see what the end is gonna be. . This allowed her to make a connection with the audience. Many people knew this hymnal; therefore, they felt as if she is one of them. Angelou (2008) went on to say Those of us who gather here, principalities, presidents, senators, those of us who run great companies, who know something about being parents, who know something about being preachers and teachers those of us.. . Those of us referred to everyone in the audience, Angelou (2008) was including everyone and in doing so she was making an audience connection. Angelou (2008) then said we owe something from this minute on; so that this gathering is not just another footnote on the pages of history. We owe something. . No one wants to believe that their actions will be forgotten. By this point in the speech Angelou had already made an audience connection and by doing so has allowed for a call to action. This call to action is a very important part of the speech because it developed relevancy in a way that was consequential. One tool that Angelou used while giving the eulogy was relevancy. Following the hymnal, Angelou (2008) begins by saying In the midst of national tumult, in the medium of international violent uproar.. • 7. Psychological Characters In Angela Duckworth s Grit One may wonder, what indeed makes one successful and what has an effect on our psychological traits? Angela Duckworth, in her non fiction book Grit, attempts to answer this question by making the claim that grit, talent, and all other psychological traits relevant to success in life are influenced by genes and also by experience .(82). Duckworth supports her claim through the use of anecdotal stories and researchreferencing studies conducted by researchers. One example Duckworth uses includes the Flynn Effect, (83) attributed to Jim Flynn. He analyzed IQ scores and its rapid growth through the decades to explain how it is socially multiplied. In general, Duckworth attempts to convince the audience that the characteristics making up a person come from one s genes as well as personal experiences. I am in agreement with Duckworth s claim, because I have found multiple sources of evidence that supports it. Also, her claim is the only logical explanation for our developing psychological traits and its effect towards success. First we must explore the Flynn Effect and what it means to us as a society. People as a whole advance over time because of the world around us and the The Flynn effect is a sound example of that. I believe in this Flynn Effect because Jim Flynn makes logical sense out of the rapidly increasing IQ scores. Duckworth introduces the the Flynn Effect in Grit (83), named after Jim Flynn referring to exponentially increasing IQ scores over the past century. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This play tells us about the case of an anarchist railway worker known as madman who supposedly fell to his death from a Police Headquarter white his interrogation in 1969. Fo himself described the play as a farce, Don t call my play a comedy. There is a misunderstanding of the word. I call it a farce. Write An Essay On Bucky Gallasses FUNKY SUNGLASSES the accessory that s always been practical and fashionable The earliest historical reference to sunglasses dates back to ancient China and Rome. The Roman emperor Nero watched gladiator fights through polished gems. In China, sunglasses were used in the 12th century or possibly earlier. These sunglasses were made out of lenses that were flat panes of smoky quartz. They offered no corrective powers nor did they protect from harmful UV rays, but did protect the eyes from glare. In prehistoric and historic time, members of various Eskimoan peoples wore flattened walrus ivory glasses, looking through narrow slits to block harmful reflected rays of the sun. Modern civilization began experimenting with tinted lenses in spectacles around 1752. There was belief that blue or green tinted glass could potentially correct specific vision impairments. Protection from the sun s rays was not a concern at this time. Glasses tinted with yellow amber and brown were also a commonly prescribed item for people with syphilis in the 19th and early 20th century because one of the symptoms of the disease was sensitivity to light. • 11. Analysis Of One Art By Elizabeth Bishop One Art Poetry Analysis One art is poem written by Elizabeth Bishop discussing loss and the role it plays in the world. The poem conveys a powerful message subtly hidden in the speaker s use of connotation and denotation. In addition to the multiple connotations of loss in the poem, repetition and sound coupled together add meaning overall to the poem. The form of the poem contributes to the uses of repetition and connotation to emphasize the ease of loss. In the poem as seen throughout much of it the speaker uses sound and repetition heavily through the length of the poem. The poem itself is a mirror into the author, Elizabeth Bishop s, life and losses she s collected throughout her lifetime. Upon research into Bishop the poem can easily be seen as a autobiographical piece. In the poem the speaker confesses to losing two cities, lovely ones Bishop lost her husband to suicide some years prior to having written the poem. Many of the losses described in the poem are personal anecdotes straight from Bishops life. The poem casually denotes the losses experienced in Bishops life creating a casual and ironic tone throughout the length of the poem. • 13. Student Teacher Relationships And Student Academic Growth... In recent years a discussion regarding education has increasingly emphasized teachers role in promoting student academic growth through personalism. Phillippo explains personalism as, policies that ask teachers to develop individual relationship with students at a presumed level for student achievement (2012, p. 441). Urban school districts have promoted these policies by converting larges schools into smaller schools. Research on student teacher relationships generally supports policies of personalism (Phillippo, 2012, p. 441). Students who have a professional relationship with their teachers tend to be more successful in school. This challenges us to consider how teachers practices directly influence what and how students learn, and what can be done to support teachers contributions. Summary of The Study Phillippo conducted this qualitative research study over a time span of a year and thirty four months. She wanted to investigate how students from non dominant groups responded to teacher personalism. Data shows that policies of personalism do promote student teacher relationships, however; tension arose when the participants felt that teacher personalism was threatening their privacy or agency (Phillippo, 2012, p. 441). • 14. Rock And Roll Influence On Youth Culture The discussion here will be of the invention of rock n roll and how did it emerge from the new working class youth culture. Styles of this are said to be fused from black and white popular music. All Genres have been studied for years but for rock itself was hard to get an agenda to just focus on this as for some didn t considered if rock as form of music was as worthy to study than others. The body of my essay will discuss the history of rock n roll and the popular youth cultures in the last century and how their choice of music was developed. No matter the genre, music in itself gives a person a sense of security. This is obvious at a young age, where a child will keep themselves contempt and relaxed by singing to themselves and control their emotions, where an adult doing their housework will sing to themselves to give freedom and soul. This is shown through this essay that the youth culture brought other genre into their popular music to explore more rhythm. When you see Elvis Presley singing songs early in his career I think you [should] imagine, he is channeling Rosetta Tharpe. • 15. Factors That Affect The And Bettering Ceramic Membrane... In 1899 ionic conductivity was observed in a solution of ZrO2(Y2O3) however the potential for use in oxygen separation technology has only gained attention in the last 35 years. The best oxygen separation capabilities are seen in defect free ceramic membranes and result in 100% pure oxygen. There are a number of different structures that ceramic membranes can take fluorite, perovskite, pyrochlore, brownmillerite and some others. The main two are the fluorite and perovskite type, which will be discussed in further detail later in this report. Oxygen flux is the rate the oxygen transfers though the membrane and a higher oxygen flux means a better membrane. Generally a dense ceramic membrane with a perovskite structure at temperatures greater ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... How this is achieved depends on the types of oxygen separation membrane. A driving force is required for there to be any oxygen transfer though the membrane, the two potential driving forces are a electrical potential gradient or a chemical potential gradient. The pure oxygen conducting membrane uses a electrical potential gradient, for this electrodes are used to provide a pathway for the electron transfer as shown in figure Xa and the extent of oxygen transfer can be manipulated by the supply of an electric current. Where as in mixed ionic electronic conducting membranes a chemical potential gradient, no electrodes are required for this and instead a pressure differential on either side of the membrane is necessary and the membrane can be of single phase or duel phase as shown in figure Xb. Although it is ideal to have membranes free of any defects, defect free materials are very rare if not impossible to manufacture. There are two categories defects can fall into, either an electronic defect or a structural defect. The electric defects are associated with the ionization and formation of electrons to maintain electric neutrality. Structural defects are associated with the crystalline structure of the membrane and can be classed into three categories; point defects, line defects and plane defects. Defects can form externally though contact with the environment or within though the consequence of impurities. Expand if I find ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. A Comparison Of The Taj Mahal And Palace Of Versailles Ever since man began building structures and settling land, art has manifested itself in our architectural creations. Whether it be to celebrate or worship a God or Gods, a grand sculpture to bury a powerful leader or remember them by, or to show a culture s dedication to specific values, our architectural constructions have led to some of the finest art this Earth has ever seen. The Taj Mahal and Palace of Versailles are two great examples of such art. By examining each of these individually, and then comparing and contrasting them, it will become clear that no matter how different looking these buildings may be, they still serve the same purpose to the civilizations that erected them. The first piece of architectural art to look at is the Taj Mahal. It was constructed as a mausoleum for the wife of Shah Jahan s favorite wife after her death following complications of childbirth (Kapadia, n.d.). It became so famous that its design was even replicated as a casino in Atlantic City, although that became a mausoleum for the cash of its investors. When someone looks at the Taj Mahal for the first time, the thing that stands out the most is the use of white marble in its construction. Almost everything in the Taj Mahal was created with white marble. Next to be noticed would be both the domes and minarets that make up the monument. These are key tenets of the Mughal style that was used in building it. So too is the calligraphy that adorns almost all of the gateways and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One of the most interesting of these theories is physicalism, which is the belief that everything in this world is physical or that all facts are physical facts. There are many arguments against physicalism, but one of the most well known and most successful arguments is the knowledge argument. The knowledge argument illustrates that physicalism is false. The knowledge argument was created by Frank Jackson and he explained this argument in his paper, What Mary Didn t Know. Jackson specifically disagrees with premise one as the point of the knowledge argument is that Mary does not know everything there is to know about brain states and their properties as she does not know about the experience associated with them. Jackson correctly condenses the knowledge argument in his response by stating that Mary, before her release, knows everything physical about other people. Mary, before her release, does not know everything about other people because she learns something new about them after she is released. Therefore, there are truths about others, and herself, that the physicalist story leaves out. Churchland s first argument focuses on the idea that the two types of knowledge are different and the first one can be considered knowledge by description and the second kind of knowledge as knowledge by acquaintance. Some people, such as David Lewis and Laurence Nemirow, expand on Churchland s argument, which leads to a second, stronger opposition to the knowledge argument that considers the mode of presentation. Lewis and Nemirow criticize premise two and state that on Mary s release, she does not learn something new or acquire knowledge in the relevant sense. When she is released, Mary acquires a certain representational or imaginative ability, meaning Mary acquires abilities, or knowledge how, as opposed to learning truths, or ... Furthermore, Kristin Luker believes that the moral positions of activists on both sides of the abortion issue reflect their individual worldviews on sexuality, family life, technology and the importance of the individual; however, the pro choice and pro life movements are not effective in changing people s moral beliefs on abortion (Luker). The key issue our candidate must address is the federal government s participation in funding state sponsored sex education programs and greater coverage of abortion costs. Problems Of The And Boundary Work Problems of Demarcation and Boundary Work One of the fundamental areas of study concerning professionals, including lawyers and scientists, is that of professional boundaries (Lamont Molnar). Where are the bounds of the profession? Who is included and who is excluded from the profession? One of the driving questions for scholars of science has been the demarcation problem, that is determining what is and is not included in science (Gieryn 1983). Historically, the social studies of science has divided between internal and external approaches, which studied the construction of science from inside and outside the professional boundaries of science respectively (Kuhn 1977). Thus externalism internalism debates in the history and sociology of science formed the central dividing line of the field until late last century (Shapin 1992). However, a contemporary consensus has emerged in science studies that the demarcation problem is essentially irrelevant to the study of science. The demarcation problem has been called a pseudo problem by those who argue that philosophically there is no reason to believe that it is possible to define necessary and sufficient conditions to separate the scientific from the non scientific. (Laudin 1983) Gieryn proposed that instead of considering demarcation as a conceptual problem, the bounds of science should be reinterpreted as a practical problem faced by scientists who have a professional need to distinguish their work from other intellectual ...
