Many sources were referred to when trying to find statistics and facts in order to lend credibility and
accuracy to our paper. There were differences between some of the sources, which forced us to verify
yet a third source to find answers. 2.3 Data Analysis Techniques
The data found on the web was used to investigate the many factors that enable us to penetrate this
market and establish trade with India. Economic and political stability for example, is critical to trade
between the countries involved. Other factors such as the product fit with the market and the market
size were also critical to this project. Through hard statistics and facts, we were able to obtain enough
information about the countries to make our import plan seem feasible.
2.4 Action Plan Timeline
Between both partners, there was approximately 46 hours spent to completing this project. The first
month was spent collecting data on both countries. Organizing the information took the most time.
Establishing our implementation plan came next and finally structuring both the presentation and
written assignment. 3.1.1 Country Profile
India, with its population of 986.6 million people, is the world s second largest country in terms of
population. There are 18 official languages in India and over 900 dialects or closely related languages.
Hindi is the most common language used and English, is the second most common. There is a

Pathology and Epidemiology of Anterior Poliomyelitis Essay
Anterior Poliomyelitis is a highly infectious disease that attacks the anterior horn of the spinal cord.
Poliomyelitis translates to grey spinal matter inflammation. Polio is caused by a picorna virus that
enters the body through mucus membranes and then multiplies in the throat and being an acidophile,
can survive well in the stomach and small intestine. When viremia occurs and persists, the virus will
penetrate the capillary wall. Once this happens, it enters the central nervous system and begins
attacking motor neurons. Polio is tissue specific and will only multiply and attack neurons. this strict
neuronotropism and definite tissue specificity of poliomyelitis virus is reflected not only in its limited
adult host range but aso in its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is when viremia will occur and the virus will begin to spread. If it does not reach the central
nervous system then the patient will only have abortive poliomyelitis. They will have some flu like
symptoms and experience a full recovery. As the virus goes further, one may become stricken with
aseptic meningitis. This polio is considered non paralytic, has the same symptoms as abortive
poliomyelitis, and irritates the meninges. This causes back and neck pain and stiffness but has a full
recovery. The worst case scenario is paralytic poliomyelitis. This occurs when the virus begins
replicating in the brain stem and anterior horn causing cell destruction and neurological damage in the
form of paralysis. This is very rare and occurs in less than 2% of infections. While paralysis of the
legs is most common, it can affect the arms, or worse, spread to the trunk. When the legs are affected,
the patient is fitted with braces to help with recovery (Figure 1) If it continues and reaches bulbar
polio, the brain stem becomes paralyzed and generally the patient will die from asphyxiation. (Flynn)
Almost 15 years later the iron lung was invented to help people at this stage survive, but currently,
there was nothing they could do.
One of the worst polio epidemics to hit the United States was in 1916 in the heart of New York City. It
infected 9,000 just in the city and kept spreading throughout the states to infect over 27,000. It left

Huckleberry Finn Impact On Society
IMPACT OF MARK TWAIN?S NOVEL
Impact of Mark Twain?s Novel
Tiger Qu

?
Mark Twain is a pen name of Samuel Longhorne Clemens, one of the greatest novelist in the twentieth
century. As an American writer who was born in Missouri, Twain worked mainly as a printer for local
newspapers and as a riverboat pilot in his early career. Such experience provided him the setting for
two of his great works: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer(1876) and its sequel, The Adventure of
Huckleberry Finn(1885), ?the great American novel?. These two works reflected Twain?s attitude
towards slavery, civil rights and anti imperialism. His life was concluded as ?the greatest American
humorist in his age,? by New York Times and ?the father of American literature? by William Faulkner.

This book, in my opinion, talked about freedom through the change of attitude towards black slave,
Jim. Talking about background, although Twain wrote?Huckleberry Finn?two decades after the
Emancipation Proclamation and the end of the Civil War, America?and especially the South?was still
struggling with racism and the after effects of slavery.?By describing the change of attitude towards
Jim, Twain reached his target, supporting anti slavery.
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,?The Adventures of Tom Sawyer?concerns itself primarily with
painting an idyllic picture of boyhood life along the Mississippi River. Though Twain satirizes adult
conventions throughout? The Adventures of Tom Sawyer,?he leaves untouched certain larger issues
that? The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn?explores critically: the problem of slavery, was mentioned
indirectly in the Tom but was directly depicted in Huckleberry by using a character: Jim.
In conclusion, these two great novels remain the most popular works because of Twain?s diction and

Taboo Language
Taboo language: FUCK
Is it no longer obscene?
All languages have words that are considered taboo words that are not supposed to be said or used.
Taboo words or swearwords, can be used in many different ways and they can have different meanings
depending on what context they appear in. Another aspect of taboo words is the euphemisms that are
used in order to avoid obscene speech. This paper will focus on the f word which replaces the word
fuck, and as the study will show it also have other meanings and usages.
First, it is a fact that from now on the use of curse words have become part of male and female s
everyday language. No longer is it uncommon to hear a person use an offensive word to express their
emotions. Not only is it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, taboo words or what can be called foul language are words prescribed by culture as being off
limits. And the use of this taboo or stigmatized language is usually associated with strong emotions.
Then, considered as a very emotional person, it is true that I am a frequent and long time user of the f
word, so I will attempt to explain this unique and fascinating word in a different light by showing the
etymology, written history, the amazingly flexible use this word has in grammar and the way it is used
or not used in media.
First of all, it seems that the actual root of the word is very unclear. It is impossible to say precisely
when it appeared because so little documentary evidence exists, probably due to the fact that the word
was so taboo throughout its early history that people were afraid to write it down. The first recorded
use of the word is before 1500 in the English/Latin satirical poem Flen Flyys Non Sunt in celi quia
fuccant uuiuys of hely meaning they are not in heaven because they fuck the wives of Ely. Others
claim the first known use of fuck is in a Scottish poem by William Dunbar, Ane Brash of Wowing, in
1503. However, it took nearly another century for fuck to make its lexicographic debut in John Florio
s 1598 Italian English dictionary. Finally, it seems that fuck remotely derived from the Latin future
and Old German ficken/fucken meaning to strike or penetrate , which had the

Analysis Of The Fire Next Time By James Baldwin
In the United States, all citizens are entitled to a freedom of choice, under which they may choose
their beliefs and ideals. Unfortunately, with this freedom , people lose their sense of truth and reality,
and must rely upon the ideals of times past and present to ground themselves in this world. The Fire
Next Time, written by James Baldwin, examines this issue in Down At The
Cross , an account of the author s experience with founding his reality on religion and with his
continuing struggles with race and society. In this religious record, Baldwin discusses how he finds a
home in religion and how he spends the majority of his life in his religious career, both of which offer
a sense of safety for his lost soul. Consequently, he then describes his mistake for trusting religion to
act as his foundation as he then learns the stupefying truth of his God s negligence, how his God takes
no action to save Baldwin s people from the depths of society.
Therefore, in order to prevent the reader from resorting to the same alternative, Baldwin intends to
persuade the reader to not base their reality upon the beliefs of others or of a denomination, but solely
upon the facts of life which stand before them. He hopes to discourage the reader by informing of the
horror and the harrowing pain he experiences with having his world shaken to the foundation.
Baldwin achieves this by accentuating the shock of his realization about religion and his God,
showing the reader how this affects him as a means of persuasion.
Perrott !2
In order for Baldwin to convince the reader (to not base their reality in the beliefs of others) (is this
necessary to keep?), he elaborates upon the lurid realizations of his God and of his faith, which
changes his and the reader s perception of religion for the remainder of the book.
Since these feelings are particularly strong for Baldwin, he mirrors his experience with strong
emotional language to bring life into the story and accentuate the importance of the event, which
grasps the reader s attention as well as their interest. Baldwin exemplifies this strategy when he
illustrates the severity of his emotions at the realization of his God s negligence. Baldwin describes his
agony:

Causes Of Internet Addiction
Shyness or Social Anxiety
People who are very shy and find it difficult to interact with others may develop an Internet addiction
because meeting people online seems less intimidating than face to face communication. The desire
for human connection is extremely powerful, even among people suffering from social anxiety.
Visiting forums and chat rooms gives them a way to develop relationships without directly facing their
fears and insecurity of being judged. They can carefully control how they are perceived by others
when they communicate online, even going so far as to create an alternate personality that is not
entirely based in reality.
Depression
Sometimes, depression can also be a cause of Internet addiction. Just as certain people ... Show more

Some who are addicted to online relationships may even create pretend personalities or personas of
themselves. This is actually a dangerous practice because often the people who create these fake lives
are already low on self esteem or desperately seeking the approval of others. Instead of seeking real
help, say from a counselor, these individuals just pretend to be someone else online, while changing
nothing about their real offline lives. This can lead to increased symptoms of depression and feelings
of inadequacy.
Escape Mechanism
A person s thinking patterns and emotions play influential roles in driving addiction behaviors. This is
especially the case with an impulse control disorder like internet addiction. When it comes to causes
of internet addiction, thoughts and emotions rank at the top of the list. How a person channels difficult
emotions has a lot to do whether internet addiction becomes a problem issue.
As an escape mechanism, someone suffering from a depression or anxiety disorder can easily get lost
in a faceless online world. When that same someone experiences feelings of euphoria and relief while
online, the seeds for addiction are there. Causes of internet addiction can also stem from relationship
conflicts as the Internet becomes a way to escape from difficult situations. As with all addictions,
causes of internet addiction have a lot to do with a person s ability to cope with life s challenges.

Laboratory 4 Recombination
Testing the Mode of Inheritance of Shaven Bristles in Drosophila Using FlyLab
Objectives The motivation of this lab report is to use Mendel s Laws of Inheritance to analyze and
predict the genotypes and phenotypes of an offspring generation (F2) after knowing the genotypes and
phenotypes of the parent generation (F1). The hypothesis for this experiment is that the mode of
inheritance for the shaven bristle allele in flies is autosomal recessive in both male and female flies.
The data generated with the Flylab software seemed to confirm the hypothesized mode of inheritance
for the phenotype of having the shaven bristles.
Methods
A computer program called FlyLab Software was used to simulate basic principles of genetic
inheritance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These numbers exhibit a 3:1 ratio of normal phenotype flies to affected phenotype flies.
The expected number of wild type flies in the F2 generation is 734.25 and the expected number of
shaven bristle flies in the F2 generation is 244.75. This, again, exhibits a 3:1 ratio of normal
phenotype to affected phenotype.
The expected and observed values were all computed on the FlyLab software.
The degree of freedom in this experiment was 3. The chi square value that was calculated was 1.4481.
The p value was 0.6943.
These values were all computed on the FlyLab software.
Since the p value of 0.6943 is greater than 0.05, the data is said to be statistically significant. This
means the null hypothesis is not rejected and the observed values meet the expected values.

Characteristics And Restrictions Of Valued Activities...
This study evaluated napping characteristics and restrictions in valued activities participation among
community dwelling older adults. In unadjusted models, we found an association between both
intentional and unintentional napping and increased odds of restrictions in at least one valued activity,
in comparison to rarely or never napping. While this association held after adjustment for
demographic and health characteristics, there was no association between napping intention and
restrictions in valued activities after further adjustment for depressive and anxiety symptoms when
compared to rarely or never nappers. Among nappers, average nap duration and frequent napping were
associated with restrictions in at least one valued activity, while napping intention was not. Moreover,
when comparing individual activities among nappers, the strongest association was between napping
characteristics (i.e. frequency, nap duration) and restrictions in going out for enjoyment followed by
visiting with friends and family. Altogether, these results indicate an independent association between
frequent, longer naps and restrictions in daytime functioning among community dwelling older adults,
especially among those who nap. Napping may be sign of daytime sleepiness which may lead to
restrictions in valued activities. Our findings are similar to those of studies on excessive daytime
sleepiness (EDS) that have utilized self reported napping as a marker for EDS. One community based

Coordinate-Based Caldaster
The decision of switching to a coordinate based cadaster is an ongoing debate. Canada s original
cadastral survey (The Dominion Land Survey) of Western Canada begun in 1871. The first cadastral
maps showed boundaries and ownership of land parcels. Some provided information such as section
or lot numbers, adjoining street names, boundary dimensions and references to prior maps. On one
hand some think legal boundaries should always be defined by physical monuments while others see a
need for boundaries being determined by coordinates. In this paper I will discuss some of the pros and
cons associated with having a coordinate based cadaster as well as look at other jurisdictions that have
implemented this system. Cons Experts question the accuracy of the system. Problems associated with
using GPS such as urban canyons, trees and satellite coverage bring arguments as to if coordinates
only is accurate enough. The cost of state of the art GPS equipment would increase the costs of
surveys. Small survey firms may not be able to afford costs of GPS and/or have the education to
operate it. Many municipalities will not approve subdivisions which have not had monuments
established. Certain organizations that are involved with the production of physical monuments are
threatened by the loss of money ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

industry is slowly transforming due to listeners transition from buying music to streaming music.
Many think that these services are giving artists a run for their money, as less and less physical copies
of their work are being sold. Due to this, artists are leaning to consider licensing out their music and

A second document that perfectly personifies the achieving of equality amongst individuals, is from
Malcolm X s The Ballot or the Bullet. Malcolm X, like many great orators, uses a number of literary

this, is seen as he states No, I m not an American. I m one of the 22 million black people who are the

nothing but disguised hypocrisy. Immediately following this, again states So, I m not standing here

as a victim of this American system. And I see America through the eyes of the victim. I don t see any

sympathetic approach to gaining support, or specifically speaking, an emotional appeal. By using his

Design Strategy For A Skywalk At The Royal Oak Campus
ABSTRACT The design strategy for a skywalk at the Royal Oak Campus entails the use of ramps and
steps rising to 5 meters and ramps having a gradient of 1:10.The skywalk will link the faculty parking
and the college with a 3metres wide ramp,5 meters wide steps and a slab width of 6500 meters
500metres above the ground level with a building line on each side of 6 meters. Pedestrians and
cyclists will use the proposed Skywalk it will be situated to allow pedestrians to cross Washington
Avenue because there are no nearby roads to necessitate a road for access. This will let pedestrians
cross safely without slowing down the traffic. Upon the approval of the design proposal, our architect
designed a skywalk for Washington Avenue. The designer worked on this project over the course of
seven weeks. The architect interviewed ten people on the preferred features of the proposed skywalk.
A survey was also undertaken on the zoning information for the city of Washington in order to
determine the maximum garage size possible. The plan designer compiled the clients information as
well as the zoning information to determine the actual size of the parking lot, designed the floor plan
and completed the report. The recommended design for the skywalk, which is a modification of the
design found at http://www.aardvark house plans.com. The design provides ample space for
pedestrians to walk through. The skywalk features a two sided walk that can accommodate light traffic

Unless doing so is a true reflection of the principle organizations business processes and practices the

Stereotypes Of Women In Video Games
Throughout the years, society has become more accepting of diverse topics and ideas. As society
continues to evolve, numerous entertainments have turned to displaying a greater amount of minority
groups. Although movies and television shows are rapidly progressing towards this trend, video games
seem to be cautiously starting to accept these ideas. Most of the advertising in video games are
promoted towards the male population. Despite the fact men have previously been the dominant
demographic in this type of entertainment, women have increasingly become a major part of the video
game audience. In creating video games in which portray the opposite gender in a realistic way is
beneficial to not only the female players but also to the male. It is important to promote the creation of
gender appropriate video games due to it decreasing the amount of sexualization and violence against
women which assists in women s self confidence and men s treatment towards women.

business has several legal laws and forms to deal with to keep the uniqueness and quality of the
products. Copyright is the most commonly known legal concern when dealing with right to reproduce
the work. Although, we need to consider the Visual Artists Rights Act because it defines visual arts as
a painting, drawing, print, or sculpture. It protects only unique works or signed, limited editions of two
hundred or fewer copies of sculpture, print, or photograph (Crawford, 2005, p. 17). This means that
many disciplines of the crafts, which may include leather crafts, may not be protected under Visual
Artist Rights Act. Some other legal aspect of the business is the selling local craftspeople s leather
goods. Contracts and negotiation forms must be legally reinforced so that each party gives some sort
of value to the product. Eventually, technological forces will become significantly important to Breezy

Privacy in the Workplace
Explain where an employee can reasonably expect to have privacy in the workplace.
Privacy in the workplace is very hard to get. Advancements in technology have been made that allow
companies to monitor every aspect of an employee use of their systems. This is very evident if you
have a job that involves you to be on the telephones. Companies are able to listen to each phone that is
made, see every website that you have visited and read any email you have received. For example, I
used to work at AMEX call center, and they were able to monitor each call through a system called
N.I.C.E.. Through this system the company was able to monitor my calls for quality control reasons.
However, if I made a phone call for personal reasons they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Electronic surveillance is almost a way of life in the United States. Everything from law enforcement,
military, government, banks, parking facilities and etc use electronic surveillance. It is usually put into
place to enhance the security for people and property, detect wrongful or lawful activities or the
interception of information that if let out to the public could be harmful and embarrassing to the
company. The only place within a company that I know of that you can t have surveillance is in the
restrooms. So, I think that Herman s use of surveillance is sufficient. In business you have to keep
your competitive advantage and if an insider who knows your business workings lets it out, that
business could quickly be at a disadvantage.
Explain to what extent an employer can engage in electronic surveillance of employees.
An employer can engage in surveillance of employees at almost any extent possible. As I mentioned
earlier an employer surveillance can include keystroke monitoring, reviewing emails, reviewing
instant messages, monitoring of conversations, monitoring time spent on the phones as well as the
numbers called, video surveillance, drug testing and satellite technology to monitor use of company
cars, and cell phones. As long as an employee is using their networks and their systems, cars, cell
phones and credit cards, the company can monitor you.

How Does Henry Reyna Symbolize In The Zoot Suit
In Luis Valdez s Zoot Suits , the character El Pachuco symbolizes a rebellious culture that defies
society. El Pachuco stands as Henry Reyna s alter ego. When Henry Reyna is in a dispute with his
moral decisions, he either listens to El Pachuco s strong character or goes with his moral instincts.
Like Henry Reyna the Pachuco lifestyle was the way of living for many teens in the 40s. The Pachuco
life was cool and hip, teenagers talked with a slang that to society was deemed wrong. Their zoot suit
was their individual symbol, a Pachuco would be recognized instantly just by their high waist baggy
pants that were tighten in the bottom as well as for their long jackets. The zoot suits were popular
among teens all over the U.S. from coast to coast. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But not a lot of justice was brought to many zoot suitors, since many of them ended up in jail. The
weak link between justice and pachucos is evident In Valdez s play as he utilizes the El Pachuco

will be served to Henry, because he s Mexican and he s being tried for murder. After henry gets
sentenced, he still has hope on winning an appeal since his trial was noticeably unfair. But El pachuco
quickly denounces that idea telling henry not to expect justice when it isn t there, no court in the land s
going to set you free. Learn to protect your love ones by binding them in hate, ese! (Valdez, 64). El
pachuco is telling Henry to show hate towards society because that s the only way he can protect
himself and everyone else. Henry quickly refutes him because he believes there is justice out there.

Political Ideologies
Introduction
Ideology defined by Heywood would be: A set of more or less coherent ideas that provide bases for
organized political actions. Its central features are an account of existing power relationships, a model
of a desired future, and an outline of how political change can and should be brought about. (2007: 68)
This essays main focus will be discussing the main ideologies and focuses of the two leading political
parties of South Africa. The African National Congress or ANC and the Democratic Alliance also
known as DA. An important insight into both their ideology will be gained by analysing how both
parties political powers are reflected in the economic sector and society and to which extend their

Ensuring that every citizen has access to an affordable education system; to water and food and a safe
place to sleep. But because this system is still very new, and with limited amounts of money available
the development takes its time. So in summery a welfare state is a concept of government in which the
state plays a key role in the protection and promotion of the economic and social well being of its
citizens. It is based on the principles of equality of opportunity, equitable distribution of wealth, and
public responsibility for those unable to avail themselves of the minimal provisions for a good life. (4)
As we can see this explanation of a welfare state again reflects many of the ANCs key values and
mission statements.
Other Ideologies such as socialism also implementing their ideas into the current ANC principles and
the way the ANC interacts with the community. Ideas such as uniting people together through the
ANC Youth League, Sport Clubs, Holiday camps and many other community building elements.
Further on fraternity and social quality (as discussed above) feed into socialism and what comes with
it.
Another (from my point of view) big part in our current government system plays communism. Where
the large orientation seems to come from a mix of ideologies of orthodox Marxism infused with
Leninism. Which should not be mistaken for the old USSR government system, which was ruled by a

Adrenal Glands
Adrenaline is a hormone that the adrenal glands produce. They are produced during times of stress or
excitement. This is a powerful hormone that is a part of the body s flight or fight response. It works by
diluting air passages, contracting blood vessels and stimulating the heart. This helps supply the lungs
with more oxygen and increase blood flow to the muscles. What Are The Adrenal Glands? The adrenal
glands can be found above the kidneys. They are about three inches long. Adrenaline is one of the
hormones that these glands release. Dopamine, adrenaline and norepinephrine are catacholomines

Not only does a person notice an increase in performance and strength, but he or she will also
experience increased respiration and heightened awareness. The person may also feel dizzy,
lightheaded and experience vision changes. The effects may last up to one hour. If a person is stressed
but not actually in danger, then he or she may feel irritable and tired. This is because adrenaline
stimulates the release of glucose and raises blood sugar. Many people find that working off this
adrenaline rush is beneficial after a stressful situation. In the past, people would handle stressful
situations by fighting. However, stressful situations in the modern world may not involve physical

Men are believed to have evolved an adaptation for jealousy because if a man s significant other was
unfaithful, it reduced the man s chances of reproducing and passing along his genes to the next
generation. On the other hand, women are believed to have evolved an adaptation for jealousy because
if a woman s significant other was unfaithful, she would lose her source of resources, protection, and
attention (Buss Haselton, 2005).
This article also states that men find it harder to forgive a sexual infidelity and women find it harder to
forgive an emotional infidelity. Evolutionary psychologists believe that women are drawn to men
based on their resources (e.g. money, family, health) and that men are drawn to women based on their
physical appearance (e.g. body shape, size, facial attractiveness). When men feel as though they are in
jeopardy of infidelity, they engage in what the authors of the article call jealous mate guarding ,
especially during their woman s time of ovulation each month. When women feel that their resource
endowed man may be more attracted to another woman, they also engage in jealous mate guarding
(Buss Haselton, 2005). In my opinion, jealousy can be a big problem, but it doesn t have to be. It all
depends on the couple and how compatible they are with each other. A little jealousy can be a good
thing; it means that people care about each other and are afraid to lose one another. However, there is

Investors and other financial statement users receive information regarding an auditor s work,
concerning a company s financial statements, through an audit report. In the United States, the audit

Darwinism And Darwinian Evolution
Evolution. The theory that has shaped people s minds. The theory of how life has changed over time.
Creation. Life by God. Life by superior being. The age old words of the Bible. The words that give
people a meaning to live, a purpose. Darwinian evolution. A scientific reason of life. The theory of
modern atheistic thinking. The theory that supposedly murdered God. People think the continents have
been torn apart, the human embryo resembles a fish, and people believe in creation and evolution.
Creationists and Darwinists have their own thoughts, but I have come to the conclusion that
Darwinian evolution is not a proven fact.
Darwinian evolution is not the same thing as evolution. Darwinian evolution is much more widely
known and much more specific. Darwinism says that humans descended from apes, which came from
reptiles, then fish, then from a single celled organism. Darwinism evolution occurs by small mutations
and very, very, slow genetic modification that takes millions and millions of years. Evolution has a
more broad statement. It says that organisms change based off of needs and requirements. For
example, giraffes have long necks, but regular evolution says that they originally had shorter ... Show

Southpaw Analysis
Evaluation of Southpaw
One of the most popular movies of 2015 was the sports drama Southpaw. The dramatic R rated movie
pulls you in, and makes you fall in love with the characters. Between the magic behind the camera and
the actual scenes, Southpaw is a movie that is very well put together. It would be an understatement to
say that the actors chosen to play the roles in this film are definitely a good fit. This movie will have
you feeling all of the emotions as if you were the character yourself. In my opinion, it is a must see
movie.
The film is directed by Antoine Fuqua, who has directed tons of successful action filled movies such
as Training day, The Equalizer, and Olympus Has Fallen. Fuqua does an outstanding job by using a
variety of angles, lighting, and music to intensify certain scenes throughout the movie. The boxing
scenes themselves are like being ringside at a real live boxing match. Fuqua made sure to get close up
looks on both opponents which shows blood, emotion, and dedication from the boxers. Kurt Sutter
was the screenwriter behind the film. Kurt Sutter is the creator of Sons Of Anarchy, a wildly

How Does Blake Use Figurative Language In The Lamb
The Lamb , a poem from a series written by William Blake, begins with and revolves around a young
lamb who has not yet experienced the world and its mishaps. Center of the poem, the lamb is
continuously being examined. Through the use of rhetorical questions, allusions, symbols, and other
figurative language, Blake clearly illustrates the theme that innocence provides a means for taking joy
in natural creation. While the lamb referred to in this poem of Blake s is portrayed to be tender and
very childlike, I would not say that the poem was made solely for the eyes of the youth. One way this
poem has been perceived that opposes my opinion is that Blake wrote it for children to see or hear
(Bussey 2001). This must have been gathered from the way Blake uses simplistic verses involving
allusions to the lamb of the bible or, Jesus Christ as children are often taught. However, what this view
fails to acknowledge despite the poem s effortlessness is the level of vocabulary such as words like
mead , vales , and meek . These words may at first not appear very difficult, but when seen from the
eyes of perhaps an eight year old, they may not completely grasp the full picture. ... Show more

Disobedience, Deliverance, Destruction. After the death of Joshua, the men of Judah and Joseph
conquered their territory and drove out the Canaanites, being obedient, but all the other tribes did not.
This signified a lack of trust in the Lord to fight their battles and was disobedient. Destroying idols
was a part of the covenant and most of Israel did not do this and God cursed them. Because they had
not destroyed the Canaanites, they would forever be in tension with them. The Israelites repented of
their sins, but the curse still was in place. One generation after the death of Joshua did not know the
Lord and was disobedient. This also shows that the previous faithful generation did not properly teach
their children and therefore failed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Deborah was a prophetess and she told Barak to attack the king, Sisera, and his army because the Lord
was with him. But Barak was afraid and cowardly. He did not trust God, and because of this Deborah
went with him. Then later Sisera was killed by Jael, another woman because God would not give
Barak the glory of killing the king because Barak had not trusted him. The cowardice of the men
shows the lawlessness and ungodliness of the generation. Midian oppressed Israel, and yet again a
judge is called, but Gideon is cowardly as well and God has to prove to him over and over again that
God should be trusted and obeyed. In the end of his life, Gideon also made an ephod which in turn all
of Israel worshiped. Though it does not say Gideon did, he also did not dissuade people and in the
end, Gideon was not honored. The godlessness of the Israelites is shown again in the story of
Abimelech which is characterized by quarreling, mass murder, and idolatry. Samson also I how God
used broken, disobedient people for his glory and to keep his promises. The tribe of Dan also
continues to be disobedient, as prophesied by Jacob. Even the Levites who were supposed to serve
God served other idols and promoted a sinful lifestyle full of greed, immorality, vulgarity, and murder.
The nation reunited because of the heinous crime of the Benjaminite s, but the tribe still ends up
existing and is not fully destroyed according to God s

West Memphis Three Case
In 1993, three boys were murdered in West Memphis, Arkansas. Because of the condition the victims
were in, the authorities believed that they were involved in a satanic ritual. Three teenagers were
accused and convicted because they were outcasts and no other leads were pursued. Even though the
West Memphis Three got justice after almost two decades of serving time, the original trial was
prejudiced.
The three teenagers were Jessie Misskelley, Jason Baldwin, and Damien Echols. They had records of
criminal activity and violent behaviour. Furthermore, Misskelley and Echols had dropped out of
school. Echols and Baldwin were close friends, but only acquainted with Misskelley. Echols is
declared to have a ...serious mental illness characterized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before the jury made a decision about the guilt of the defendants, the jury foreman talked to both an
attorney and the judge involved. A former attorney for the defendant Misskelley later noted that he
heard the judge and foreman speaking during a lunch break, and the foreman stated that the jury was
almost to a conclusion while Judge Burnett responded, You ll need food for when you come back for
sentencing, (arkansasonline.com 1). The judge was implying that the defendants were guilty before the
jury reached a verdict. It was known that the foreman was advocating that the defendants were liable
for the scandal. Although there was a retrial, it was still unjust because of the circumstances of the
deal. After many requests for retrial, the West Memphis Three received an Alford plea deal. The deal
is where the accused plead guilty while still professing their actual innocence, in cases where they
accept that prosecutors have sufficient information to acquire a conviction. The Alford plea contrived
that the defendants served 18 years and 78 days, which was the time that they served, and could not
seek domestic help for improper imprisonment. Even though the original convictions were repealed,
the West Memphis Three still didn t receive justice for their

Antoine Lavoisier Research Paper
Why Lavoisier is famous:
Antoine Lavoisier revolutionized chemistry. He named the elements carbon, hydrogen and oxygen;
discovered oxygen s role in combustion and respiration; established that water is a compound of
hydrogen and oxygen; discovered that sulfur is an element, and helped continue the transformation of
chemistry from a qualitative science into a quantitative one. He created a new form of nomenclature
which is the skeleton of today s Periodic Table, and he famously proved the theory of phlogiston
incorrect and replaced it with the law of conservation of mass and his theory of oxygenation (Holmes,
introduction).
Early and Social Life

As a textbook, the Traité incorporated the foundations of modern chemistry. It spelled out the
influence of heat on chemical reactions, the nature of gases, the reactions of acids and bases to form
salts, and the apparatus used to perform chemical experiments. For the first time, the Law of the
Conservation of Mass was defined, with Lavoisier asserting that ... in every operation an equal
quantity of matter exists both before and after the operation (Lavoisier). The most striking feature of
the Traité was its Table of Simple Substances, the first modern listing of the then known elements (the

Family Dynamics And Juvenile Delinquency
There are four key elements in the family dynamic that affect juvenile delinquency. They are families
disrupted by separation and divorce, families involved in interpersonal conflict, ineffective parent who
lack appropriate parenting skills, and families that encompass deviant parents who may transfer their
behavior to their children.
From research, one of the most controversial studies on child deviant behavior involved the parents
and/or guardians acting as the key component of informal social control. When a family separation
occurs, there are no mechanisms in place to control children from becoming involved in antisocial
behavior and a broken home is a strong indicator of a child s law violating activities. A broken home is

Nursing Theory in Practice
Nursing Theory In Practice
Chamberlain College of Nursing
NR 501: Theoretical Basis of Advance Practice
September 25, 2011
Introduction Imogene King was the developer of both a Conceptual Framework and a Goal
Attainment theory. The Goal Attainment theory is a middle range theory that originated from the
Conceptual System. The primary concepts of Goal Attainment theory are perception, communication,
interaction, self role, grow and development, stress, and time and space (Frey, Sieloff Norris, 2002).
The main point of Goal Attainment theory is that the nurse and the patient work together to define and
reach goals that they set together (Killeen King, 2007). This process is done mostly through
communication, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The cause of poor or lack of communication skills are many and include time availability of nurses to
get time to sit and talk with patients; lack of privacy; shortage of qualified nurses who are available to
talk to patients; lack of training; and different languages. Poor communication skills also affect goal
setting and goal attainment, which leads to increase return follow up, visits in the emergency room
(Williams, 2001). The application of communication into the nursing practice is done through the
process of the nurse conducting a comprehensive assessments on patients, making diagnoses, setting
realistic goals and evaluating outcomes (Khowaja, 2006). During the assessment of the patient is when
interaction occurs and the nurse collects data regarding the patient. The data collected from the
assessment is used to make nursing diagnosis from identified problems communicated between the
patient and the nurse. After the nursing diagnosis is made, the nurse continues to communicate with
the patient to plan by setting goals. The patient is encouraged to participate in decision making for
collaboration of achievement of goals. Once the goals are set, the nurse and the patient collaborate
through communication to formulate the means by which the goals can be attained. However, mutual
goal setting is only successful if the patients trusted that the goal would benefit them (Williams, 2001).
With communication, nursed have to

  • 3. Pathology and Epidemiology of Anterior Poliomyelitis Essay Anterior Poliomyelitis is a highly infectious disease that attacks the anterior horn of the spinal cord. Poliomyelitis translates to grey spinal matter inflammation. Polio is caused by a picorna virus that enters the body through mucus membranes and then multiplies in the throat and being an acidophile, can survive well in the stomach and small intestine. When viremia occurs and persists, the virus will penetrate the capillary wall. Once this happens, it enters the central nervous system and begins attacking motor neurons. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is when viremia will occur and the virus will begin to spread. If it does not reach the central nervous system then the patient will only have abortive poliomyelitis. They will have some flu like symptoms and experience a full recovery. As the virus goes further, one may become stricken with aseptic meningitis. This polio is considered non paralytic, has the same symptoms as abortive poliomyelitis, and irritates the meninges. This causes back and neck pain and stiffness but has a full recovery. The worst case scenario is paralytic poliomyelitis. This occurs when the virus begins replicating in the brain stem and anterior horn causing cell destruction and neurological damage in the form of paralysis. This is very rare and occurs in less than 2% of infections. While paralysis of the legs is most common, it can affect the arms, or worse, spread to the trunk. When the legs are affected, the patient is fitted with braces to help with recovery (Figure 1) If it continues and reaches bulbar polio, the brain stem becomes paralyzed and generally the patient will die from asphyxiation. • 4. Huckleberry Finn Impact On Society IMPACT OF MARK TWAIN?S NOVEL Impact of Mark Twain?s Novel Tiger Qu Shenzhen Middle School ? Mark Twain is a pen name of Samuel Longhorne Clemens, one of the greatest novelist in the twentieth century. As an American writer who was born in Missouri, Twain worked mainly as a printer for local newspapers and as a riverboat pilot in his early career. Such experience provided him the setting for two of his great works: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer(1876) and its sequel, The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn(1885), ?the great American novel?. These two works reflected Twain?s attitude towards slavery, civil rights and anti imperialism. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,?The Adventures of Tom Sawyer?concerns itself primarily with painting an idyllic picture of boyhood life along the Mississippi River. Though Twain satirizes adult conventions throughout? The Adventures of Tom Sawyer,?he leaves untouched certain larger issues that? The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn?explores critically: the problem of slavery, was mentioned indirectly in the Tom but was directly depicted in Huckleberry by using a character: Jim. And the use of this taboo or stigmatized language is usually associated with strong emotions. Then, considered as a very emotional person, it is true that I am a frequent and long time user of the f word, so I will attempt to explain this unique and fascinating word in a different light by showing the etymology, written history, the amazingly flexible use this word has in grammar and the way it is used or not used in media. First of all, it seems that the actual root of the word is very unclear. It is impossible to say precisely when it appeared because so little documentary evidence exists, probably due to the fact that the word was so taboo throughout its early history that people were afraid to write it down. The first recorded use of the word is before 1500 in the English/Latin satirical poem Flen Flyys Non Sunt in celi quia fuccant uuiuys of hely meaning they are not in heaven because they fuck the wives of Ely. Others claim the first known use of fuck is in a Scottish poem by William Dunbar, Ane Brash of Wowing, in 1503. • 6. Analysis Of The Fire Next Time By James Baldwin In the United States, all citizens are entitled to a freedom of choice, under which they may choose their beliefs and ideals. Unfortunately, with this freedom , people lose their sense of truth and reality, and must rely upon the ideals of times past and present to ground themselves in this world. The Fire Next Time, written by James Baldwin, examines this issue in Down At The Cross , an account of the author s experience with founding his reality on religion and with his continuing struggles with race and society. In this religious record, Baldwin discusses how he finds a home in religion and how he spends the majority of his life in his religious career, both of which offer a sense of safety for his lost soul. Consequently, he then describes his mistake for trusting religion to act as his foundation as he then learns the stupefying truth of his God s negligence, how his God takes no action to save Baldwin s people from the depths of society. Therefore, in order to prevent the reader from resorting to the same alternative, Baldwin intends to persuade the reader to not base their reality upon the beliefs of others or of a denomination, but solely upon the facts of life which stand before them. He hopes to discourage the reader by informing of the horror and the harrowing pain he experiences with having his world shaken to the foundation. Baldwin achieves this by accentuating the shock of his realization about religion and his God, showing the reader how this affects him as a means of persuasion. Perrott !2 In order for Baldwin to convince the reader (to not base their reality in the beliefs of others) (is this necessary to keep?), he elaborates upon the lurid realizations of his God and of his faith, which changes his and the reader s perception of religion for the remainder of the book. Since these feelings are particularly strong for Baldwin, he mirrors his experience with strong emotional language to bring life into the story and accentuate the importance of the event, which grasps the reader s attention as well as their interest. Baldwin exemplifies this strategy when he illustrates the severity of his emotions at the realization of his God s negligence. Baldwin describes his agony: ...and naturally, ... Visiting forums and chat rooms gives them a way to develop relationships without directly facing their fears and insecurity of being judged. Some who are addicted to online relationships may even create pretend personalities or personas of themselves. This is actually a dangerous practice because often the people who create these fake lives are already low on self esteem or desperately seeking the approval of others. Instead of seeking real help, say from a counselor, these individuals just pretend to be someone else online, while changing nothing about their real offline lives. This can lead to increased symptoms of depression and feelings of inadequacy. Escape Mechanism A person s thinking patterns and emotions play influential roles in driving addiction behaviors. This is especially the case with an impulse control disorder like internet addiction. When it comes to causes of internet addiction, thoughts and emotions rank at the top of the list. How a person channels difficult emotions has a lot to do whether internet addiction becomes a problem issue. As an escape mechanism, someone suffering from a depression or anxiety disorder can easily get lost in a faceless online world. When that same someone experiences feelings of euphoria and relief while online, the seeds for addiction are there. Causes of internet addiction can also stem from relationship conflicts as the Internet becomes a way to escape from difficult situations. As with all addictions, causes of internet addiction have a lot to do with a person s ability to cope with life s challenges. Physical Causes of Internet Addiction Someone with ... • 9. Characteristics And Restrictions Of Valued Activities... This study evaluated napping characteristics and restrictions in valued activities participation among community dwelling older adults. In unadjusted models, we found an association between both intentional and unintentional napping and increased odds of restrictions in at least one valued activity, in comparison to rarely or never napping. While this association held after adjustment for demographic and health characteristics, there was no association between napping intention and restrictions in valued activities after further adjustment for depressive and anxiety symptoms when compared to rarely or never nappers. Among nappers, average nap duration and frequent napping were associated with restrictions in at least one valued activity, while napping intention was not. Moreover, when comparing individual activities among nappers, the strongest association was between napping characteristics (i.e. frequency, nap duration) and restrictions in going out for enjoyment followed by visiting with friends and family. Altogether, these results indicate an independent association between frequent, longer naps and restrictions in daytime functioning among community dwelling older adults, especially among those who nap. Napping may be sign of daytime sleepiness which may lead to restrictions in valued activities. Our findings are similar to those of studies on excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) that have utilized self reported napping as a marker for EDS. One community based study ... Canada s original cadastral survey (The Dominion Land Survey) of Western Canada begun in 1871. The first cadastral maps showed boundaries and ownership of land parcels. Some provided information such as section or lot numbers, adjoining street names, boundary dimensions and references to prior maps. On one hand some think legal boundaries should always be defined by physical monuments while others see a need for boundaries being determined by coordinates. In this paper I will discuss some of the pros and cons associated with having a coordinate based cadaster as well as look at other jurisdictions that have implemented this system. Cons Experts question the accuracy of the system. Problems associated with using GPS such as urban canyons, trees and satellite coverage bring arguments as to if coordinates only is accurate enough. The cost of state of the art GPS equipment would increase the costs of surveys. Small survey firms may not be able to afford costs of GPS and/or have the education to operate it. • 40. How Does Blake Use Figurative Language In The Lamb The Lamb , a poem from a series written by William Blake, begins with and revolves around a young lamb who has not yet experienced the world and its mishaps. Center of the poem, the lamb is continuously being examined. Through the use of rhetorical questions, allusions, symbols, and other figurative language, Blake clearly illustrates the theme that innocence provides a means for taking joy in natural creation. While the lamb referred to in this poem of Blake s is portrayed to be tender and very childlike, I would not say that the poem was made solely for the eyes of the youth. One way this poem has been perceived that opposes my opinion is that Blake wrote it for children to see or hear (Bussey 2001). This must have been gathered from the way Blake uses simplistic verses involving allusions to the lamb of the bible or, Jesus Christ as children are often taught. However, what this view fails to acknowledge despite the poem s effortlessness is the level of vocabulary such as words like mead , vales , and meek . These words may at first not appear very difficult, but when seen from the eyes of perhaps an eight year old, they may not completely grasp the full picture. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When really thought through, the lamb does not know who made thee. In the world inhabited by the child in The Lamb, questions are just a playful pretense. The purpose of these questions is to get the knowledge of the nature of life circulating, so it can make all the vales rejoice. (Aubrey 2011). What Aubrey is getting at here, which I completely agree with, is that Blake uses these rhetorical questions to get imagination going, allowing the reader to become intellectually and emotionally involved in his ... • 41. Christianity And Disobedience Disobedience, Deliverance, Destruction. After the death of Joshua, the men of Judah and Joseph conquered their territory and drove out the Canaanites, being obedient, but all the other tribes did not. This signified a lack of trust in the Lord to fight their battles and was disobedient. Destroying idols was a part of the covenant and most of Israel did not do this and God cursed them. Because they had not destroyed the Canaanites, they would forever be in tension with them. The Israelites repented of their sins, but the curse still was in place. One generation after the death of Joshua did not know the Lord and was disobedient. This also shows that the previous faithful generation did not properly teach their children and therefore failed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Deborah was a prophetess and she told Barak to attack the king, Sisera, and his army because the Lord was with him. But Barak was afraid and cowardly. He did not trust God, and because of this Deborah went with him. Then later Sisera was killed by Jael, another woman because God would not give Barak the glory of killing the king because Barak had not trusted him. The cowardice of the men shows the lawlessness and ungodliness of the generation. Midian oppressed Israel, and yet again a judge is called, but Gideon is cowardly as well and God has to prove to him over and over again that God should be trusted and obeyed. In the end of his life, Gideon also made an ephod which in turn all of Israel worshiped. Though it does not say Gideon did, he also did not dissuade people and in the end, Gideon was not honored. The godlessness of the Israelites is shown again in the story of Abimelech which is characterized by quarreling, mass murder, and idolatry. Samson also I how God used broken, disobedient people for his glory and to keep his promises. The tribe of Dan also continues to be disobedient, as prophesied by Jacob. Even the Levites who were supposed to serve God served other idols and promoted a sinful lifestyle full of greed, immorality, vulgarity, and murder. The nation reunited because of the heinous crime of the Benjaminite s, but the tribe still ends up existing and is not fully destroyed according to God s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. West Memphis Three Case In 1993, three boys were murdered in West Memphis, Arkansas. Because of the condition the victims were in, the authorities believed that they were involved in a satanic ritual. Three teenagers were accused and convicted because they were outcasts and no other leads were pursued. Even though the West Memphis Three got justice after almost two decades of serving time, the original trial was prejudiced. The three teenagers were Jessie Misskelley, Jason Baldwin, and Damien Echols. They had records of criminal activity and violent behaviour. Furthermore, Misskelley and Echols had dropped out of school. Echols and Baldwin were close friends, but only acquainted with Misskelley. Before the jury made a decision about the guilt of the defendants, the jury foreman talked to both an attorney and the judge involved. A former attorney for the defendant Misskelley later noted that he heard the judge and foreman speaking during a lunch break, and the foreman stated that the jury was almost to a conclusion while Judge Burnett responded, You ll need food for when you come back for sentencing, (arkansasonline.com 1). The judge was implying that the defendants were guilty before the jury reached a verdict. It was known that the foreman was advocating that the defendants were liable for the scandal. Although there was a retrial, it was still unjust because of the circumstances of the deal. After many requests for retrial, the West Memphis Three received an Alford plea deal. The deal is where the accused plead guilty while still professing their actual innocence, in cases where they accept that prosecutors have sufficient information to acquire a conviction. The Alford plea contrived that the defendants served 18 years and 78 days, which was the time that they served, and could not seek domestic help for improper imprisonment. Even though the original convictions were repealed, the West Memphis Three still didn t receive justice for their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Antoine Lavoisier Research Paper Why Lavoisier is famous: Antoine Lavoisier revolutionized chemistry. He named the elements carbon, hydrogen and oxygen; discovered oxygen s role in combustion and respiration; established that water is a compound of hydrogen and oxygen; discovered that sulfur is an element, and helped continue the transformation of chemistry from a qualitative science into a quantitative one. He created a new form of nomenclature which is the skeleton of today s Periodic Table, and he famously proved the theory of phlogiston incorrect and replaced it with the law of conservation of mass and his theory of oxygenation (Holmes, introduction). • 44. Family Dynamics And Juvenile Delinquency There are four key elements in the family dynamic that affect juvenile delinquency. They are families disrupted by separation and divorce, families involved in interpersonal conflict, ineffective parent who lack appropriate parenting skills, and families that encompass deviant parents who may transfer their behavior to their children. From research, one of the most controversial studies on child deviant behavior involved the parents and/or guardians acting as the key component of informal social control. When a family separation occurs, there are no mechanisms in place to control children from becoming involved in antisocial behavior and a broken home is a strong indicator of a child s law violating activities. • 45. Nursing Theory in Practice Nursing Theory In Practice Chamberlain College of Nursing NR 501: Theoretical Basis of Advance Practice September 25, 2011 Introduction Imogene King was the developer of both a Conceptual Framework and a Goal Attainment theory. The Goal Attainment theory is a middle range theory that originated from the Conceptual System. The primary concepts of Goal Attainment theory are perception, communication, interaction, self role, grow and development, stress, and time and space (Frey, Sieloff Norris, 2002). The main point of Goal Attainment theory is that the nurse and the patient work together to define and reach goals that they set together (Killeen King, 2007). This process is done mostly through communication, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The cause of poor or lack of communication skills are many and include time availability of nurses to get time to sit and talk with patients; lack of privacy; shortage of qualified nurses who are available to talk to patients; lack of training; and different languages. Poor communication skills also affect goal setting and goal attainment, which leads to increase return follow up, visits in the emergency room (Williams, 2001). The application of communication into the nursing practice is done through the process of the nurse conducting a comprehensive assessments on patients, making diagnoses, setting realistic goals and evaluating outcomes (Khowaja, 2006). During the assessment of the patient is when interaction occurs and the nurse collects data regarding the patient. The data collected from the assessment is used to make nursing diagnosis from identified problems communicated between the patient and the nurse. After the nursing diagnosis is made, the nurse continues to communicate with the patient to plan by setting goals. The patient is encouraged to participate in decision making for collaboration of achievement of goals. Once the goals are set, the nurse and the patient collaborate through communication to formulate the means by which the goals can be attained. However, mutual goal setting is only successful if the patients trusted that the goal would benefit them (Williams, 2001). With communication, nursed have to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
